This Paranormal Life - When UFOs Invaded New York - Hudson Valley UFO Incident
Episode Date: September 22, 2026UFOs descending on Manhattan island seems hard to believe but that may be what the aliens had planned when in the 1980s there were hundreds of UFO sightings in New York State, centering on areas like ...Hudson Valley only a few miles upstate. Many of these sightings came together to comprise one of the most astonishing and well-reported UFO phenomena in US history. But is there enough evidence to convince the skeptics that humanity was really visited by outsiders? Kit Grier Mulvenna and Rory Powers are on the case. Get your tickets to our London Live Show! Do UFOs come in peace?
Over the last five decades of UFO research, one disturbing trend has emerged.
Time and time again, UFOs seem very interested in nuclear technology.
Whether in public sightings or declassified military documents,
they are regularly flying near power stations and sensitive military sites,
which is exactly what happened in the Hudson Valley, New York State,
in the early 80s.
But if the aliens came for the nukes,
they stayed for the New York pizza
because these sightings turned the Hudson Valley
into maybe the biggest UFO hotspot on Earth.
But why are they so interested in our technology?
Did anyone witness actual life forms?
And what fun lie did the government use
to explain this one away?
Answers to these questions and more on this episode
of This Paranormal Life!
Hello!
Hey!
Patriots!
And welcome back to this paranormal life,
the weekly comedy show
where we investigate a different paranormal tale every week
deciding whether we think as paranormal investigators
it's real or not.
I'm joined as always by Mr. Rory Powers.
How are you doing today?
Rory!
Alien crafts coming down and visiting nuclear sites.
Uh, yeah, what else is new?
Yeah, shocker there.
That's what they love.
Right.
They love coming down and looking at the nuclear sites.
Well, you know, that might seem obvious to you
because you're a decorated veteran
of the Myspace Wars
of the 2000s
and the Bebo Wars.
Yes.
And also you're a paranormal investigator.
So you kind of know all about this stuff.
But maybe to the listeners,
they haven't heard this so much.
That's true.
Some of our listeners probably have friends
and loved ones,
which have gotten in the way
of you understanding
the secrets of our universe.
Right.
Okay.
Well, it sounds like we got a great case
on our hands today, Kit,
and I'm excited to dive in,
learn a little bit more.
Absolutely.
We're going to get straight in
after a quick reminder.
or head on over to This ParanormalLife.com
to become a member of the commune today.
You can join the commune,
whereas for as little as $5 a month,
you can get access to hundreds of episodes

So check it out. Links in the description.
And next month we're going to be doing our only live show of this year, Sunday 11th of October.
See us in the Clapham Grand for a crazy one night only, this paranormal life live show.
Whoa.
That really snuck up.
That really snuck up.
You sound a little.
Yeah, well, I'm shook.
I am shook because I don't know how much you have written for the show yet.
Let's say how much we've written for the show yet.
Okay?
on the count of three.
You ready?
Yeah.
Three, two, one.
All of it.
Yeah.
So we said that at the same time.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Cool.
It's good to check sometimes.
Can I see what you've written?
It's great to not be hooked up
to a lie detector test, isn't it?
It's going to be a brilliant show.
We bought a time machine.
You can see at the Clapham Grand next month for spooky season.
Guys, let's get into today's episode.
Guys, today's case is an absolute.
Absolutely doozy.
As I teed up in the beginning, a UFO case story,
and one that I think we have referenced, at least in the past on this paranormal life
in our many, many years of UFO and paranormal investigations,
but one that I think felt deserved a deeper dive here on the show.
Okay, okay.
It's the evening of the 14th of June, 1984.
The security guards at Indian Point Nuclear Power Station are preparing themselves for another run-of-the-mill shift.
Located in the banks of the Hudson, the plant is on a quiet stretch of the river,
just south of the suburban town of Peakskill,
a world away from New York City, just 50 miles down street.
It's a summer evening, and two guards are manning a security cabin at the front gates.
Ah, another relaxed night ahead, huh, Jimmy?
Certainly looks that way. Nothing too exciting happens round here, just how I like it. Don't it?
Don't it?
Thanks, Jimmy.
Hey, man. As long as I have the reassuring flow of the hood.
Hudson and the comforting hum of a nuclear reactor, I'm a happy man.
I'll just do some final checks before settling in.
All seemed perfectly normal as the security guard began his nightly runs.
Now where are we?
Gates, locked.
Lights, off.
Flashlight.
Check.
Keys, check.
Huge UFO hovering above the power plant.
Check.
Wait a minute.
What?
What? Good God, you gotta be kidding me! Hey Cal, you gotta get a look at this!
Wow, and this is verbatim?
This is the transcript from the night?
This is police records that we have from their transmitters.
What is that thing?
By now, Cal, as well as a whole crowd of other security staff and workers,
around the site were glaring at what his partner had seen.
An enormous structure was slowly moving over the site.
And when I say enormous, make no mistake, I mean,
Enormous. By all accounts, this thing was at least 100 feet across, but by other estimates,
as large as 900 feet across. Holy shit! They said it was boomerang in shape, with a series of bright
colourful lights flashing in sequence. The craft made no obvious sound and moved slowly. It drifted at
about a thousand feet above the ground. The staff were enthralled, but after about 15 minutes of
being mesmerized, the mood hardened.
Get the shotguns!
Allegedly, the security staff lined up outside with an arsenal of firearms pointed into the sky.
Thankfully, a full-scale assault on the craft was avoided when a senior member of the team warned against escalating.
After a few more minutes, the craft quietly flew off along the river valley into the night.
What had they just witnessed?
At least let one of them take a shot at it.
Right. See what happened? What's the worst that's going to happen?
Just do a, you know, am I the only one?
kind of warning shot.
Yeah, exactly.
Freak it out a little bit.
Also, it's fun to be a security guard
working in a nuclear facility
because even if you have a shotgun,
that technically is a nuclear weapon,
just probably based off the radiation
that's been leaking from all the reactors in that facility.
There's a low grade, yeah.
Yeah.
Attached to your body now are technically nuclear arms.
Yeah.
Just because of the radiation
you've been absorbing on your night shift.
Unfortunately, because of my nuclear balls,
I will also no longer be able to have children.
You know, it was the 80s.
It was a different time.
We didn't need health and safety.
I guess, is there some kind of like hazmat suit
that can protect you from nuclear radiation?
I guess that's it, like a radiation suit.
Yeah.
Did you watch Chernobyl?
I did.
Fantastic show.
Do you remember the scene?
I think it's one of most stress.
out at times I've ever been is the scene where it's like POV, you're cleaning debris off the roof of the reactor in Chernobyl.
Yeah.
And it's like, it's from the point of view of a guy going up there in a hazmat suit and they're like, they're like going up on the lift and getting prepped.
It's like you have 180 seconds.
You know, I think that was the story was they were like cycling people in, you know, hundreds and hundreds of workers who are not all of them made it in the end.
and and they were like, you know, for safety,
you can only be out there for like 180 seconds.
So it's just like they've got these giant hazmat suits
they can barely see their breath is fogging up the glass.
And it's the creepiest thing ever
because there's nothing to see.
Yeah.
But it's just the,
this is a scary thing about nuclear material.
Yeah, yeah, nothing to, I guess, feel in the moment either.
Yes.
You've just got the ominous kind of clicking of the Geiger counter.
Yes.
As your, yeah, it's Geiger counter.
Yeah, exactly.
The guy girl counter.
And then I think, like, of course, in the show,
a guy like trips over a rock and gets his foot stuck in it or whatever.
He's like, oh, I'm cooked.
I'm unc.
I'm literally toast.
The guy girl counter sounds like a device you would bring to a party to see if it's a sausage fest.
Yeah, right.
It's like clicking the same.
Going straight up to just the boys.
Right.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Very much like a guy.
Geiger counter, if it's, if there's a lot of chicks at the party, it's, it's clicking barely.
It's kind of like, yeah, oh, we have a good background level of guy, girl radiation.
But if it starts going off the charge, oh, there's too many fellas at the function.
Yeah, it's like, we gotta get out of here.
You have approximately 60 seconds of exposure before someone's going to start talking to you about their AI business.
All right, we got to get out.
The guy girl counter's going crazy.
Oh my God, we've hit beer.
Pong levels of radiation. Someone's about to take out an acoustic guitar.
Well, as it happens, Rory, this wasn't, in fact, the first time such a craft had been seen
in the area and it would be far from the last. As discovery reported on the phenomena earlier
in the year, in early 1983, residents of New York's Lower Hudson Valley began looking up from
their cars, driveways, gardens, and windows in astonished bewilderment. Hanging in the sky
high above towns like Brewster and Yorktown was an enormous V or boomerang-shaped array of lights,
moving slowly and almost silently.
One such witness was local government worker and his family, Dennis Sant.
In what appears to be one of the earliest nights of verified sightings,
Sant described what he saw.
Quote, it was a very large object. The structure was dark grey, metallic,
almost girder-type looking. The objects seemed to be very silent. The lights were iridescent.
bright. They stood out in the sky. It looked like a city of lights.
Whoa. I mean, if this thing is 900 feet long, then yeah. Fair. Where did the girders come into it?
I don't know, actually. What was that? Yeah, what was he describing? Kind of like a...
Like the metal beam? Like a girder?
Yeah, interesting. Yeah, okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I guess it's maybe look kind of industrial.
It just hung out in the sky, all brilliant colors. We followed the object around to the backyard. And I
At that point, a feeling of fright came upon me.
Thoughts started to flood my mind.
Thoughts of the craft touching ground.
Thoughts of an encounter with an alien being.
Thoughts of being abducted.
All types of fearful thoughts started to enter my mind.
You're getting really ahead of yourself.
This is...
Thoughts of getting abducted.
Thought of having to meet them on their home planet.
Thoughts of when I should propose to my alien wife.
Are we ready for alien children yet?
I don't know what health insurance is like on their planet.
It's like, go to bed.
He's saying this in front of his family.
Daddy, I'm scared.
You should be.
You should be.
Little Dennis Jr.
Saying it to his wife.
Thinking of just the rigorous lovemaking sessions
that are going to be taking place on their home planet.
What is their stamina like?
Four or five times a day?
Is our base system the same as their base system?
Should I advance the relationship at the same speed as here on Earth?
What if they consider finger-banging the final base?
Could you imagine making sweet love to an alien?
And then afterwards, the alien goes, next time let's go to second base.
You're like, that was everything I had.
Oh, yes. Second base is when we explode your penis and holes into a thousand light crystals,
which travel across the universe for eight light years before being sucked back together by a black hole.
You're like, sounds odd, dude.
The alien is like, I was saving this for marriage, but...
Nying!
You're like, this is third base!
But Dennis and his family weren't alone that night.
Traffic on roads up and down the region ground to a halt as transfixed drivers pulled over to observe the phenomena.
The very next week, Andy Sadoff of the nearby Newcastle Police Force had his own startling experience.
So what started as a routine night patrol turned into an evening he would never forget.
This police officer gave his own statement.
I was working at 4 p.m. to midnight tour, and assigned to set up some radar to look for some
speeding cars, and I looked up into the sky and saw a series of lights. At first I thought it was
a plane. It was quite a distance, quite far away, but it was really quite large. As I recall,
there were mostly white lights, but there were green lights also. It was alternating green and white lights.
It approached my vehicle and stopped and seemed to hover.
I'm looking at this thing thinking, what is it?
I wasn't afraid. I was just amazed. I was in awe of it.
Arguably everything I've said up to this point isn't that important.
But here's what is important.
The only thing I recall most is I was amazed there was no noise.
There was no humming, no engine, no sound.
It was absolutely silent.
Here we go. Yes, we see this a lot.
In UFO cases, zero noise, even from enormous ships.
And this is important because, as we'll see, later on, when the garment tries to gaslight us into saying this is something else.
What could this be?
All right?
What can you...
Just remember that Andy Sid off, on his day off, said it was completely silent.
Yes.
I'm really locking onto this.
the 900-foot megacity that floated over New York.
Yeah.
Presumably we're going to hear later that it was actually a weather balloon.
Oh, yeah.
Can't wait for that part.
It could see it coming.
Yeah.
It was a drone, even though it was 1982 or something.
Mori, how does this sound so far, even just compared to other UFO sightings?
I think you are, your cogs are already turning, you're starting to compare it.
It's a classic hovering over some sort of nuclear facility, strange lights in the sky, zero noise.
freaking out the people on the ground. It's classic. We're ticking all the boxes.
Yeah, because as you say, Rory, if you ask the government, they'll say, well, if it walks like a duck,
if it looks like a duck, and if it sounds like a duck, it was a weather balloon.
Exactly. That's on their little handbook that they give out on the first day.
Yeah. So, I mean, the only problem is I'm worried we're not going to get anything more than the sighting itself.
I could be wrong. We could be heading into a part of the story where light beams,
start coming down and sucking people up. But I don't know if that's where this story's
heading, unfortunately. I'm holding out for camcorder footage. This is the era of cheap and
high-quality Japanese electronics. Hell yeah. That were flooding the U.S. market for the first time,
making brands such as JVC and... The Sony Handycam. And the Sony Handycam. Which is behind me
right now. Popular household items with families all around the country. You've got to work on your
Japanese accent, man.
Arigato.
Before we find out whether there is any evidence in today's case, let's talk about the witnesses.
Oh boy.
Because, you know, they're the heart and soul of today's case.
Yeah, let's talk about the velocity in which they were sucked up into the craft.
That's what I want to talk about.
Well, it actually is a pretty unique side to this story, which is not just how many of the witnesses, not just where they were or what they said.
It was the character of the witnesses.
Because look, here at TPL, you can never accuse us of snobbery.
True.
Rednecks are our, we've been on record as saying rednecks are our favorite witnesses.
Anyone who listens knows that we believe in the golden pyramid of truth, which is upheld
by several pillars, rumors, hearsay, and a man's word.
There might be a fourth pillar that I don't remember.
We can't remember.
But in the, maybe secrecy.
But in the case of the Hudson Valley, many states, many states.
skeptics were actually impressed by just how many of the witnesses had jobs.
These quote educated, official or professional individuals came forward with testimonies.
And many of the leafy suburban towns dotted along this valley are full of neighborhoods, homes to executives that commute into the city.
So if this sounds classist, it is.
But you'll see how the people were bringing up again and again with this case.
they weren't necessarily the type of witnesses,
maybe the police or other UFO investigators were used to hearing from.
I'll give you an example.
Senior IBM computer engineer Ed Burns had his own encounter.
He stated that, quote,
out of nowhere, I got a lot of static on the radio.
I thought maybe I was looking on the wrong number
when I went over to turn the dial again.
That's when I looked up and saw this craft.
It was triangular.
The back had to be as large as a football field at least.
Jesus.
And there was no noise.
I'm not into astronomy, but what I witnessed that night was not from this planet.
Rory, I believe we have an artist's interpretation of what it would have been like to see something like this on the night.
Phil, can we please pull up the first artist interpretation of today's case?
Whoa!
This is, uh, uh, I don't.
Oh, jeez.
All right.
Sorry.
I'm, don't put your hands in it.
Bill, can we get some tissue baby?
Drink, all right.
Keep rolling.
This is good tape.
Come on.
Kit showed the evidence on the TV in front of us and scared himself so badly that he...
Goodness Christ!
He knocked over a gold cup of tea.
Oh.
What the f*** is fat?
You're just...
Look in, look in.
Come on, come on, come on, we gotta keep rolling.
We'll keep rolling.
React, describe to the people what we're seeing.
Are you okay?
Ignore me. Ignore me.
Ignore me.
You've not so much liquid over your death.
Are we sponsored by this,
And we can't have this on screen if we're not sponsored.
We're not giving our free advertisement.
I'm seeing what looks like a screenshot from a sci-fi movie.
This craft is enormous.
I can see why they say it's boomerang shaped
because the lights are kind of in a row
creating the line of a boomerang.
But I mean, this thing could take any shape.
It looks like a star destroyer from Star Wars.
It's pretty comical how large.
Yeah, I mean, it's literally a scene from Independence Day or something.
Yeah, yeah.
Because I think the idea is that,
That's a bridge, a road bridge on people.
It took me a while to figure that out.
I think cars are stopped on it.
People are standing out looking up, stopped in traffic.
And this thing is just hundreds and hundreds of feet across.
It's enormous.
Absolutely enormous.
And the craziest bit is that after Ed got out of his car for a closer look,
he joined a crowd of at least 20 other witnesses,
which leads nicely to another unique thing about this case.
The number of these people.
I'm glad that that story involved him being able to pull the car over
because it felt like for a second there it was going down a familiar path
where someone is driving in a car and there's a flash of bright light
and then they find themselves two miles down the road five hours later
with no memory of what happened.
I was like, oh, Ed, you're in for a bad time.
Yeah.
And you've got to do like the checks that they do when a baby is first born
where they're like, okay, cool.
Just got here.
A quick digit check.
Five fingers on that hand.
Five, on that hand.
Five toes, five toes.
Cool. Good.
We haven't lost anything.
Yes.
What's the...
Okay. Chip in my neck.
There is a chip in my neck.
For sure.
And, oh, they took an eye.
I thought things looked weird.
Oh, boy.
Yeah, look, over the course of the next two years,
a huge number of similar reports would emerge
throughout upstate New York and into Connecticut.
By the time the main bulk of sightings dried up in around 1986, some estimates placed
the number of eyewitnesses at 9,000.
Holy shit.
At the height of the sightings, police hotlines and local media were inundated with non-stop
reports.
In fact, even now, you can scar the internet for articles from this period and there are many,
many, many, many, many comments from people claiming to have been witnesses at the time.
I'll give you a couple.
Stacey M writes...
Stacey's mom?
Oh shit!
This is from Stacey's mom?
The...
You know what?
The timeline would pretty much perfectly add up.
We know she has it got it going on.
Yes.
Maybe what she's got going on is witnessing a paranormal craft.
Yes.
Oh my God.
It would make sense that if you say the aliens are trying to get some kind of intergalactic third base,
that they would find Stacey's mom.
Yes.
To try and up to talk about.
She writes,
I saw the V-shaped craft in 86 with another person 8pm in winter in Bullville Pine Bush area.
It had weird lights and little to no noise.
It hovered in the field for a few minutes then flew away.
I remember all the neighborhood dogs barking like crazy.
I couldn't believe my eyes and I will never forget that night.
Damn.
It just goes on and on.
Paddy O'Gerry, 1985, Milwaukee, Bethelcourt 9pm.
I saw 5 to 7 large bright lights.
seven large bright lights in a boomerang pattern.
There was no sound, no movement, huge.
Watch for 10 minutes, then it disappeared.
And simply at Vinnie got in there early with the good username.
I witnessed the Hudson Valley UFO July 1984.
It was over a football field in size.
My siding was almost directly overhead at 10.20 p.m.
Two minutes into the siding, the most amazing thing happened.
The entire object started to revolve.
There were seven lights, which all saw.
spun in a counterclockwise manner,
and the entire object made an immediate 90-degree turn
then drifted into a 15- or 20-mile-an-hour wind disappeared.
Could this thing not have just waited, like 30 years to turn up,
to when everyone literally has iPhones?
That would be...
All of these people saying, like,
not only did you see it, if you lived anywhere near the Hudson Valley,
you couldn't miss it.
It sounds like...
I mean, it's insane that there were only 9,000 witnesses.
Right.
It should be hundreds of thousands.
If an object this large was just floating around in the sky.
Yeah, I mean, we had a semi-similar thing happened in the last year or so,
which was the New Jersey drones.
I mean, honestly, kind of interesting that it was in a pretty broadly similar area of the United States.
But this was a phenomenon that took place over probably a month or two,
where sometimes referred to as New Jersey UFOs
or the New Jersey drones,
but there was seemingly hundreds or dozens
of drones or some kind of orbs
seen over the state of New Jersey,
flying in formation,
doing crazy things,
some of them just standing still,
some of them making crazy movements.
It was largely interpreted as a kind of UFO phenomenon.
People didn't know exactly what they were.
It was very confusing.
We talked about it at the time.
At some points,
it was like you had state officials
being like, this is UFOs, no one knows what's happening.
And then the next day they would turn up with tousald hair
and a scared look in their eyes and be like,
A black eye.
Forget what I said yesterday.
We know exactly what they are.
And they're just military craft.
This press conference is over.
But at least those were just like little weird metal balls
moving very quickly throughout the sky.
If last year, Wrigley Field was hovering above Ohio,
I think people would probably notice it and get some pretty good photos.
Because it sounds like this thing was not even trying to hide itself.
It had the lights on.
Don't you wish you could just hit skip on the worst parts of your life?
You know the same way you can skip an ad?
I get it.
I'm Siyaya and I live in Ice Cove.
I've made some questionable decisions that didn't end up the way I planned.
And today I'm still figuring it out.
Somehow things usually get worse before they get better.
Apparently, that's how I roll.
So bundle up and come along for the bumpy ride.

where's the f*** footage?
I'm reaching for the phone.
Hello.
Phil.
Plee-plee.
Phil.
Ple-ple-ple-ple-ple-ple-you-say-poo-poo-poo-poo-poo-ping-pong.
Pee-poo-poo-ping-pong.
Bye.
Let me try that again.
Phil.
Please play the next piece of video.
Plee-plee.
Plee-plee is what's the aliens say on their planet.
Ple-pli-plice.
So speaking their language.
Ple-ple-ple-ple-Vee.
Plip-lee-Vee.
Kent Cliffs, New York.
New Year's Eve, 1982.
All right.
Shortly before midnight, in this small time...
Why is it always the same voice?
It's always the...
This dude's got a gunk.
Yo!
Okay.
Kid is showing me footage of...
Your lights in the night sky.
...commercial jet, but has a V-shape, move slowly, and makes no sound.
The incident is the first in a wave of UFO sightings that would shape the surrounding area,
known as the Hudson Valley.
The Hudson Valley is your classic hotspot.
Here, UFOs appeared from...
We're hearing right now from Phil Imbrong...
No.
thousands of people.
A triangular boomer...
Here he goes. Footage from July 24th, 1984.
Very low over the community.
And it was photographed, videotaped,
and it was seen from people from all walks of life
who were sure they saw something strange
that was not from this planet.
This caused people to pull off the side of the road
and actually start calling home,
thinking there was something.
some type of an invasion.
And they were executive doctors, scientists, and so on,
meteorologists, and they all reported something
that they have never seen before.
Over the span of three years, officials received
more than 9,000 reports from eyewitnesses
describing the same V-shaped craft.
Not only was there a UFO sighting in Hudson Valley,
but it came back night after night after night.
These are people who would not normally come forward to say that they saw a UFO.
Oh, good God.
I don't know.
Not playing.
I'm going to tell you something, honey.
I don't know what the hell it is.
Yet, what they saw was so convincing and so frightening to them that they went on record to report what they saw.
I mean, it's just amazing.
All right, so we saw a little bit more of the boomerang.
Oh, you get that.
Okay, fine.
We have one more picture to throw in.
Please, Phil.
He just went, Phil Pee Pee Pee.
Phil Plee Pee.
That is another photo, zoomed in.
What is this now?
Because this is not anything like any of the footage that you just showed me in the documentary.
It's supposed to be a photo or still from another video.
But yeah, it's just one that's just one that's.
does the rounds. I think the difficulty, as always, with UFOs with lights on them, is that
the lights are an indication as to the shape, but they might not be exactly the shape. So it is
possible that your boomerang-shaped UFO does have this pattern of lights, even though it looks
more like a semicircle. My only problem with this is I'm losing any sort of consistency
in the look of this thing. Hey, hold on, no. That's all I'm going to say. But all the
Because all the videos look identical to each other.
And then you see one still.
And then you're like, you're like, well, actually.
This is insane.
People listening, listeners to the podcast,
this is a kind of an angel's halo made out of Christmas lights.
They're all multicolored for some reason.
Yeah, but I believe, don't make me go through my notes.
I believe someone, do you remember someone was like,
oh, they're like some lights were red, some were green,
somewhere.
Which is also not the case, though, in any of the video footage.
Yeah, but they're so distant.
I would, like, you're dealing with such old camera technology there.
You are right.
It's so distant.
I don't know if you're picking up.
I think you could see stuff with the naked eye you might not be able to see with,
just from a distant video.
Yeah.
I should have shown you a fucking last picture.
Oh, God damn it.
Phil, please, please get it off.
What are you thinking, bud?
I just told you, man.
Listen, I...
What?
Don't tell me that that last video wasn't some of the maddest shit you ever seen.
The last video was cool, and I saw the boomerang shape.
Mm-hmm.
It does look like it could be one of those, like, U.S. night bomber planes.
Oh, yeah, completely silent and hovering, for one.
Well, I can't see if it's hovering.
Because also, for those listening, it's just complete black and lights in the sky.
So you can't actually see if it's...
moving or not at all.
Well, if it's, I just want, listen, guys.
I know what you're saying?
Are we not here to also be skeptics?
All right, I was going to get to this later, but Roy's brought it up.
Phil, plee, please, please, please, please, please, please, Bill.
The next image.
Oh, that's just another still from the video.
Which is exactly what I'm talking about.
That looks like the underbelly of a, like, stealth bomber.
Why?
You know the kind of plan I'm talking about.
Listen to what you're saying as well.
Why would a stealth bomber have 16 lights on the underside of it?
I don't know.
Like a Christmas tree.
It's all shit is that it has to be completely invisible.
Anyway, really cool.
Still, let's keep pushing.
Look.
Oh, f***.
This is whole white order.
Hold on.
You keep telling, you keep calling Phil, saying,
Phil, show the evidence.
The evidence is not created.
You go,
F***.
Get that off the screen.
It's out like four times now.
Phil, please.
Well, if you weren't interrupting me,
and none of this can stay in,
if you weren't interrupting me and be like,
well, it's a bummer.
So it's staying in.
Please, please.
Next of it, please.
So you do want it.
Not that one, no,
because we have to skip that.
So go to the next one.
Because you are talking about a bomber
out of order.
This is all planned out.
And you keep up.
This is way too confusing.
genuinely asking for quite on set.
We are going to go back in a minute.
Look, seeing as you wanted to get into it, I have, here's one I baked earlier.
And I will say, me and you are on the same tip, because I didn't see anyone really talking about this.
But the elephant in the room, to me, was that the pattern described is very similar to the B2 spirit bomber.
Yes.
Yeah, yeah.
As in it's like a perfect right angle triangle.
Yeah.
People who are listening to this,
I mean, you know what kind of weird future bomber thing we're talking about.
They're usually jet black, sharp angle.
I think the popular media thing is that this is the X-Men have one of these, I think,
in the old cartoons or something.
What are the X-Men doing with that?
I know.
Getting around the world.
Which, whatever one of the X-Men has such shit powers,
They need to fly around at a military bomber.
Kick him off the team.
But I think, I think, you know, they get deployed, you know.
Saviars like, you know, all right, we're going into Nicaragua, you know,
and they parachute out of the plane.
I don't know why.
Send an American stealth bomber.
I'm pretty sure that I had like an X-Men toy bomber.
I think this is why it's such an iconic design of the 90s and 2000s.
Couldn't storm like all fly them there on a gust of wind or something, you know?
I don't know what you want me to say.
I will say, you know,
fuck the military industrial complex.
That being said,
this is one of the coolest things
that has ever been made.
And I think it is partly
that it's burned into my brain
as a child of the 90s.
This was,
I mean, this thing, I think I read,
it costs something like,
I don't know,
like in 80s and 90s money,
it costs something like
$70 billion to develop.
I think each one of them
costs almost a billion dollars to make.
It's the most absurd.
grotesque example of like military system. But it is a pretty breathtaking thing of design.
I would say Kit thinks that this jet is one of the coolest things that humans have ever
invented. I could name three cooler things right now that didn't cost $40 billion.
Oh, God. Well, also, I want to be very, very clear. I didn't say it was one of the coolest
things invented. I said it was one of the most breathtaking pieces of engineering.
One of the coolest pieces of engineering. Check the tapes. I'm pretty sure you were
like this is sick.
I can get slow mo of me saying it.
It is sick.
Anyway, go on.
Buzzballs.
That didn't take a long time.
It tastes like complete ass.
Go on.
Next one.
So awesome.
The engineering behind that is just,
it went so hard.
Yep.
Great.
And women owned company,
loud and proud,
which is awesome.
I didn't realize we were hosting
the performative male Olympics
here in the podcast here today.
Women owned business.
Zippo lighters.
We made those a bunch of years ago.
And guess what?
they're still sick as hell.
Yes.
You can do tricks with them.
I agree.
Well, as Zippo is, one of the greatest pieces of engineering.
You're right?
Those knives that you can do tricks with.
A butterfly.
You don't even know what they're called, a butterfly knife?
Great.
Those things.
Are you done?
Because I'm trying to, I don't want people to think this is the conclusion to today's story.
Oh, okay.
Yeah, because there's a piece of evidence that we have to play.
I want to be, I've written here.
It's actually the last thing I have written down.
The B2, this bomb we're talking about.
So let's recap here.
This story begins in 1984.
The B2 was first delivered in 1993,
and it was only considered ready for operational capabilities in 1997.
It was then first used in war, maybe late 90s or early 2000s.
Do you want to explain how a jet plane would hover in the sky silently?
There are hovering planes.
Also.
Not in 1984?
Publicly.
there's there's there's like the what the harrier jet I think hovers one of them but by aiming
two jet fuel engines at the ground like iron man yeah that shit ain't silent there ain't a silent
one and also the size simply doesn't add up I think Phil if you yeah plee-plee slide to
the slide to the slide to the right chat-cha slide style that is the size of a B2 bomber
that is actually bigger than I thought to be fair because there's some people in the
photo for a reference. But it's the width of a runway. Dude, that shit is way bigger than I thought.
Yeah, but it's not a hundred feet across. No. But when you were telling me that...
It's definitely 50 feet across, but it ain't 100 feet across or 900 feet or the size of, quote,
several people describing a football stadium. When you were telling me that Xavier was sent in the
X-Men across the world in one of these things, I was like, where do they all sit? I thought the
The cockpit was like a one man.
I was imagining this thing was more of like fighter jet size.
Yeah.
But the wingspan is huge.
It's pretty huge.
It's big, but it ain't football field.
No.
Look, while we're, we've kind of ripped straight into people trying to explain this phenomena away.
And we might as well talk about what, drum roll please.
You guessed it.
It's time for the official government explanation.
Oh yeah
Guys take your seats
I hope you've got popcorn and a drink
Welcome
Here we go
I'm gonna get out your bingo cards
Guys because it's gonna be some familiar quotes
Ranging all the way from
Nothing
You actually saw nothing
To weather balloon
To commercial jet
To that was actually
The Moon
Gas leak
Gas leak
Jupiter
We've had gas leak
We've had planets
Yes
That was the most insulting of all time.
I think someone, like two individuals had their faces melted by the exhaust of a glowing diamond.
And the police said, you were actually just looking at Jupiter.
Yeah.
Yeah, from the performative male Olympics to the gaslighting Olympics.
You actually won't see this one coming.
Here's a new one for this paranormal life.
The explanations didn't necessarily begin with officials.
interestingly, a local flying group said we were hoaxing you guys.
And a few of us went up in a few Cessna 152s,
and we flew about in formation to trick you guys.
Why would they say that?
So Phil, if you could slide to the chat-cha slide to the left.
We are looking at a Cessna plane.
It's what you think.
This is a kind of Indiana Jones journeying through the jungle,
little biplane, not biplane, but little propeller plane. Rory, do you think that a handful of
amateur pilots flying in formation in Cessna's could cause the sites that we've seen? I'm going to say
no from my limited experience flying one of these planes and being in one of these planes,
where I did at one point fly in formation with two other planes.
Oh, wow.
On both side of us.
Creating the triangle shape that you see.
I think that's just a popular one when you're flying.
It is that weird thing where it's like, okay, so your criticism might be, well, it must
have been impossible for like everyone to stay in the right formation and not like fly to the sides
and then it would warp the imagery of the UFO and the ship from below.
But it's kind of like when you're driving in a car down a highway really fast.
And if everyone's going the same speed, no one's moving.
It's not hard to like keep the correct distance from someone or to go too fast or too slow
because it honestly feels like no one's moving at all.
Yeah.
So experience flyers, they probably could replicate like a very strong V shape in the sky.
But that doesn't, that's not going to match up to the descriptions that we're,
hearing. It's going to make noise, for one.
These planes are noisy. Yeah, I think we just,
that's it. You have to stay in the common
sense of just
those basics. The noise,
the hovering nature, also
just the sheer practicality of
like, okay, great. So you
did this every other night
for two years?
Two years?
This happened between
1984 and about 1986.
It was over years. That's why we have
so many thousands of witnesses.
How do we not have more videos and footage of this?
Well, we have quite a lot of video.
Okay.
We're a handful of video.
All right.
From the early 80s.
Why would they claim this then?
Why would they claim to be responsible?
Well, Rory, you know, what happened was, quote,
State Police reported that some of the lights could be explained by pilots flying
Sessna 152s in a tight formation of bright lights.
Local officials and skeptics jumped on this admission from the pilot.
and argued that most of the Hudson River Valley UFO reports
could be traced back to these flights
rather than anything more extraterraterrously exotic.
So to answer your question,
their government shills,
they're probably CIA agents
or something who are being paid through the absolute wazoo
to create any form of plausible deniability.
We've seen that it takes very, very little
in order to convince people that something didn't really happen.
Now, I think,
the beauty for them of this excuse is
this is great, this is called muddy in the waters.
You know, if there's UFO stuff going on
that you don't want to draw attention to,
or even if it is experimental crafts and things
and you don't want to draw attention to it, yeah, great.
Send up a few planes, create a whole narrative.
You've muddied the waters.
Some people really are going to report seeing Cessna's.
Yeah, yeah.
But that doesn't describe
a hundred people pulling over their cars
at the side of the road,
witnessing a football field-sized boomerang-shaped UFO hovering above them.
This is the secret third option is that some of the sightings could have been legitimate,
and then a lot of them could have been people seeing planes
and getting carried away by the stories that have come before them
about seeing a craft in the sky, which does happen, unfortunately.
Well, look, I couldn't finish up the episode without making a pretty cool point
that in one of those videos we heard from a Mr. Philip in Brogno.
who was responsible for pulling together a lot of the different Hudson Valley testimonies into things like documentaries.
And Phil would later go on to co-author an important book on the events, Night Siege,
the Hudson Valley UFO siting, co-authored by Project Blue Books, Dr. J. Allen Heineck.
Let's go.
So pretty cool. It does appear that the Hudson UFOs have the Heineck stamp of approval.
Damn. I don't remember if we covered this encounter in our full investigation into Dr. J. Alan Heinek, which we did do as a bonus episode. We followed his entire career from beginning to end. It was an awesome episode of the podcast. But this must have been one of the many UFO cases that he covered as part of Project Blue Book.
And Night Siege, not to be confused with another episode of this paranormal life called Night Siege,
which is strangely also early 80s book, but instead about an Ohio family who were assaulted by paranormal shadow beings.
Another great episode.
So yeah, that's great.
That is true.
We'll talk about the J.L. and Heineck episode later.
But very important and he's an incredibly important paranormal investigator, UFO investigator.
So pretty interesting that he was all about this case.
If this was part of Project Blue Book, I'd love to know at what point in Dr. Heinex journey from skeptic to believer this took place.
Right.
Like at this point, maybe this was what did it?
Like, was this one of the cases that turned him into full-on believer?
Well, it seems like pretty a good example of the kind of thing he struggled with,
which was a case in which you have thousands of witnesses, hundreds of testimonies.
hundreds of testimonies, and none of them particularly lining up with the official rational explanation.
Yeah, when he comes back and they're like, so what was it, Heineck? A couple of geese.
There's probably a couple of geese, right? He's like ice white looking at his own hands, shaking.
These understanding of the universe has changed fundamentally. And they were like, here's a document that says, it was a goose.
Maybe you could just sign the bottom of it, Mr. Heinek. He's like, no, I can't.
Yeah, that was the book they wanted him to release. It was a goose.
Night Siege. It was a goose all along. But he didn't. He thankfully co-authored a different book.
A blue book.
Guys, at the end of every episode of this paranormal life, we have to decide whether we think our paranormal case is real or not.
Rory, I've got to pass it to you.
Don't pass it to me. I'm going to pass the blunt to the left.
I don't want it to be passed to me.
Phil pleeply the blunt to the right.
I don't want it passed to me.
Right.
What do I think about today's case?
Can you start actually?
Yes.
I need to hear your, I need to hear where your head's at.
Look, I don't mean to.
There will be some people who will be skeptical and they'll be like,
Kirk, don't think that's a little convenient that there was a triangle-shaped bomber being developed at a somewhat similar time in history.
Yes.
I don't, but I'm not saying I don't mean to, I'm not trying to like be ignorant and strong mindless argument that I don't really believe in.
But I do genuinely think that if.
If you, there's lots of things in life that look one way from a distance, but then if you just
look at the details for 30 seconds, the details don't line up. And I think this is that case.
I think the bomber is an interesting wrinkle, but it's funny because it was only me and Rory
that have thrown in the bomber as a possibility. I haven't really seen anyone actually suggest
that. That's just because we're that intellectually honest here on this part of my life.
Yeah. That's why I'm pulling up pictures to try and give you the other side of the story.
But look, I love it.
I think it's a great case.
I think the fact that Jail and Hynek's paws are all over it doesn't surprise me in the least
because it's pretty mind-blowing.
And it has all the hallmarks of modern UFO sightings that have gone on to blow our minds in recent years.
They're hovering, completely silent, the moving in very strange ways the aircraft
we're not really designed to do at that time.
We have lots and lots of witnesses.
We have video evidence.
They're hanging out near nuclear facilities, things we've seen in other cases such as the
Malstrom UFO Air Force Base, which documents about that were declassified in government
trunches of UFO evidence in recent years.
You won't have your nips blown off?
Go check out that episode because that was not only an aircraft hovering above.
It wasn't a nuclear site, but it was a missile site by the military and whatever the hell
this thing was in the sky, it messed with all the rockets and the missiles.
Yeah. It's a crazy story.
So I think it's a yesterday.
Wow. Okay. You know, I'm not going to lie. I was more on the fence about this one than I thought I was going to be.
I think a lot of listeners of our podcast will know that if you just tell me there's something in the sky, I'm usually going to give it a yes.
But I think I was a little hesitant when you have this many sightings of an object this large and we didn't manage to get better video evidence in today's case.
We have video evidence, but I'm still allowed to be picky.
And that evidence caught on camera was not fantastic.
If it simply isn't, motherfucker-ffield, I think people would beg to differ
that admittedly some of the video is a little grainy.
But the last video we saw was pretty nice.
Okay.
Well, don't tell me that a football stadium floated in the sky for two years.
9,000 people saw it
And the best video we ever got
Was grainy distant footage
Of a boomerang of lights
It doesn't even resemble a football stadium
I think if we were to know
No one ever said it was a football stadium
You did you said it was the size
Potentially of a football stadium
And I think
To be fair
I think that just because sometimes
People described it as being very low to the ground
Or very large
It doesn't mean that every day, like, it was clocking in at a nine to five job.
It was floating at the same altitude.
I think these things came and went.
It was very much, I mean, honestly, the New Jersey drones that I mentioned was,
for anyone who's followed UFO stuff, that should go to prove how frustrating this stuff can be.
Reddit was tearing itself apart.
People were like, for the love of, can someone just get, it was like, we'll crowd fund it.
Someone get a van, fill it with cameras, get four guys.
and just film.
Someone gets some close-ups
of these things.
And that was surprisingly hard to get.
There was some footage
and that's in 2025.
True, true, true.
But again, tiny balls floating in the sky,
not something 900 feet wide.
That shouldn't be possible to be missed.
You don't even need to get it in focus or zoom.
You should be able to just point your camera up
and it's all you can see.
900 feet?
900 feet
Well there was like one person said
That was 900 feet
But but that last video we looked at
If you think of like
The Zoom capable
On a cam quarter back then
That is a large object
Yeah
For it to be flying in the sky
Sure
To it to look that large on camera
That is a large object
I have my hesitations
I do
But there's enough here
It's ticking enough of my boxes
To say that I will also give this ES
It's a double yes
There's a done
There you go.
Ladies and gentlemen, we got him.
Guys, plee-plee, for joining us on this episode.

I want to hear from the skeptics. I want the skeptics to chime in this week.
And I told you guys that I was on the fence edging into yes territory.
I want to see if the skeptics out there
can change my mind
and we revisit it on the after party.
Interesting.
It's a cool idea.
