Starting point is 00:01:01 I'm excited. Thank you. Today's guest is a young lady from the state of Florida. And she's known for her viral clips online. She stopped by today with her mom, Dawn, and her sister, Grace, to have a chat and some snacks at the end.
Starting point is 00:01:23 I had a blast with today's guest, Miss Hannah Strickland You can move this if you need to I'm pretty loud So Yeah she is not in a microphone Yeah Do you
Starting point is 00:01:50 Do people say you're loud a lot or do you feel No I just am loud I just know I'm loud Because I am loud Yeah Have you always been that way you think Even since you were just a child? Um
Starting point is 00:02:01 I don't know Do you remember a time when you weren't very loud I was probably always loud I respect that I think I'm just feeling I feel a little bit anxious today I guess Do you ever feel like that Hannah? No
Starting point is 00:02:18 Not you don't I'm just worried I think I'm just not ready for Easter And I know Easter's coming It's Easter I know but sometimes it just feels like a lot With like the parties and the egg hunt You don't have to have a party
Starting point is 00:02:32 I guess I don't have to have a party But I don't want to be the guy that doesn't have one or whatever Yeah Do you Have you always thrown like a birthday party Yeah. Would you ever not throw one, you think? Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:02:48 What about last year? You had a yes day. Oh, yeah, I had a yes day. What is a yes day? Uh, where your dad or mom says yes to everything. What? Yeah. For the whole day?
Starting point is 00:03:02 Mm-hmm. No. What was the first thing you asked for? Um, we went on Amazon and I got accessories from my Barbie doll. Facts. And I got a big American girl doll thing And it's like It comes with accessories
Starting point is 00:03:17 And like a lot So you got everything you needed Yeah pretty much And did you get like a special type of meal or anything Like what else were you allowed Like what were you allowed to ask for anything And that even came into your head? Yeah pretty much
Starting point is 00:03:30 What? What if you wanted like a pet or something like that Or even like a... Oh my dad He doesn't want another pet in the house Okay And have there been issues with the current pets? No
Starting point is 00:03:41 Nothing at all? No. Hmm. He just doesn't want another one. Do you think he's being a bit much? Yes. Okay. What's the pet you would go for?
Starting point is 00:03:53 A cat. Just a cat? Yep. You can get a cat in the woods. We have a cat. Well, I want, like, a fatter cat. Fatter than the one we have? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:02 Yeah. How fat is the cat you have? Just show me with your hands. Probably this big. And how fat do you want? Like, the same thing. size of the chair. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 00:04:14 Yeah. So you want a real big feline, huh? Yeah. And why? Do you just want to brush a tear? What do you even want to do with it? It's a cat. You play with it.
Starting point is 00:04:23 Are you allowed to play with your cat outside or only inside? Well, the cat doesn't really like that outside. And I'd probably fall in the pool. Oh, that's dangerous. Now, take a gander at some of these fat cats that we pulled up here. Yeah, that's the cat that I want. Oh, so you're thinking something big like that, huh? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:41 Like a Garfield? Yeah. She loves Carfield. You do? Mm-hmm. Now, if you had to choose one of these fat, kind of fat ones or whatever, or some of them are overweight or some of them, I think, have glandular issues. But if you had to choose one of these larger cats. The polka dot one with the white and the block.
Starting point is 00:04:59 Yes, please. That mixed one right there. That Ben Simmons right there. That's what I would get. That one's nice, huh? Yeah. You could even play Twister on that if you dyed the colors of it. Yeah, maybe.
Starting point is 00:05:11 Okay, very fair. I'm sitting here with Hannah Strickland and her mother Dawn Strickland. And who picked out your... Who picked out your name? My dad. And did you have a say in her name or not, Don? Absolutely. You did.
Starting point is 00:05:29 Yeah. So it was going... It was going to be an awful name. I would have changed it if it was an awful name, but... And I totally understand that. I want to say, I agree with you, Hannah. What were you going to choose, Dawn? It was actually going to be Hannah Beth. Yeah, and I hate that.
Starting point is 00:05:41 But we... Yeah. But what? A table lot? A table? Yeah. Yeah. But what happened, Don. But so what happened was Hannah Beth didn't strike us when she was born.
Starting point is 00:05:54 And so we had a very close family member whose wife was Genevieve. And that's her middle name. That's a way better name. So she loves her middle name. Yeah. Because Genevieve, it's almost like, does it feel like an alter ego sometimes, Hannah? No, it's just French. Oh.
Starting point is 00:06:10 Totally. Then that makes total sense. If you could, say you go back in time until when you were a child. Yeah. Could you pick a different name for yourself? Violet. Violet?
Starting point is 00:06:24 Why? I just like that name. Yeah, I like it too. I like Violet. What would you pick, Dawn? What do you think your mother looks like if you had to give Mom a different name? Because Dawn is very pretty.
Starting point is 00:06:37 Dawn means like the beginning of the day, think, or the end of the day. It's like a very... It's like the dawn of the rest of the earth. Like, like, the world is going to, like, blow up. Okay, that's a bit. Yes. Awesome.
Starting point is 00:06:50 That's one way to... Yes, that is sometimes how it's looked. That is a very more doryan kind of view of it. But yeah, what do you think your name would be if you had to give... You get to rename mom, right? Water bottle. Water bottle? Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:07:04 Why? It's just funny. I like that. Oh, this is my mother water bottle. Yeah, huh? Yeah, yeah. That's pretty funny, actually. I wonder what I would name my mom, probably.
Starting point is 00:07:20 Jeffrey Epstein. Okay. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, maybe. I mean, she had four children, but I don't think that. But, yeah, maybe so. I think that's hilarious. So I'm so grateful you ladies are here today.
Starting point is 00:07:37 Do you all live together? Well, yeah. Yeah. We decided to. And Hannah, is there a point where you're looking to actually get your own place? Or have you thought about that at all, or is that not something? I want to imagine. You do?
Starting point is 00:07:49 Yeah. Okay. And my sister said that she lived in India, and she had a golden toilet and golden steak and a lot. I actually don't recall that. She lived in India? Well, she says that, but I don't believe her. But should you believe your sister? That's not a common, is that even?
Starting point is 00:08:08 I don't know. She said she had like Golden Horses and Golden Stallions. I'm like. Oh my gosh. Maybe she met somebody online or something. Yeah, she probably looked it up. Asked Chat.
Starting point is 00:08:21 Yeah. And just created that in her head. Yeah. Yeah. What do you do to relax? What do you do to unwind? Take a bath. Okay.
Starting point is 00:08:33 And are you somebody that stays in the bathtub for a long time? Yes. Oh, you're in the... So with my sister. She never closed the curtain because she's scared of the grimace. She's, that's not pure grace, that's you. Of grimace from McDonald's? Yes.
Starting point is 00:08:50 Really? How did that? Bring up Grimmis. Does he look? Yeah, he looks like something. He's very, you're looking purple. Yeah. So you're saying when you see Grimis, you see a not a positive thing.
Starting point is 00:09:04 You see a negative thing. There's a purple one. I didn't even know there's a green one, but whatever. Well, that's the St. Patrick's one that's supposed to be his cousin or whatever. Oh, that's nice. And then Griss also made up another grimace where it's black. And it's like dark black and if you go on the road, then he's going to kidnap you and eat you. Oh, that's blemiss, I think.
Starting point is 00:09:23 Yeah. Really in doom. Doom death. And what you say? Doom death. Doom death. It's where we are. No, look, I'm glad I'm glad you're here from the future to tell us how it all is.
Starting point is 00:09:38 ends. That's goodness for you. Do you think Grimmis wants good things for the world, or do you think he kind of has his own plans? Probably to take over the world, blow the plan on Bob, buy some bombs, more bombs. Yep. But what about the fries? What about the play?
Starting point is 00:09:54 What about the kids' play area? You don't think he cares about all that? You don't think Grimmis cares about the McDonald's kids' play area? You know he's from McDonald's? Well, yeah. Oh. I don't think he would make it at McDonald's. You probably add poison on the burgers.
Starting point is 00:10:10 True. You know, he actually got fired from McDonald's, I think. Wow. So, not impressive. I'm not impressed anymore. Yeah. It's evil. There's an evil grievous.
Starting point is 00:10:24 Well, he's changed a lot. I know he went through some dark times, and I know I think some of his family members passed away. Oh, wow, that's fun. It's a tough moment for people. Wow, that's really funny. I mean, it's pretty crazy I don't know if it's funny though
Starting point is 00:10:41 Maybe in I mean I guess I guess if there's like a way to like try to laugh about the pain of it Is that probably what you mean Hannah? No, just funny Because the grimace doesn't exist There's like a person under it Some people say that Bring it up. Does Grimmis exist? Let's look it up
Starting point is 00:10:58 Yes, grimace is a real character Oh I told you He's fictional Mm-hmm. He was introduced in 1971. So he's getting older. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:14 That means he is 55 years old. He looks good for his age. I will say that. Yeah. Will you say that? Yeah. Yeah, not really.
Starting point is 00:11:25 Purple don't crack, huh? Hannah, what would you say you're here today and thank you for coming? Yeah. To town. Have you been to Nashville before? No. And were you excited about coming to Nashville?
Starting point is 00:11:36 Yes, I like the hotel. You do? Mm-hmm. Good. Is that something you enjoys getting that first moment in the hotel? Yeah. That's fun, huh? What do you like the best about it?
Starting point is 00:11:48 Like, what's kind of just the energy of it? I like the showers. Yes. Because the shower's big. Oh, that's fun in there. Yeah. Yeah. If you can have a good shower, that's pretty good.
Starting point is 00:11:59 My friend one time rescued a Pelican, and there was a storm. There was like a big storm, and he rescued a freaking, Pelican and we had to keep it in our shower for three days. That sounds fun. It was pretty fun. And we had to get fish and stuff and go in there and feed them and stuff. But it was scary while you were washing your hair with the shampoo
Starting point is 00:12:17 because it would be scary if the suds got in your eyes and you were scared he was going to attack you or whatever. Yeah. Yeah. But, you know, you just try your best. Yeah. I would just go swimming the pond with alligators. You would?
Starting point is 00:12:31 Mm-hmm. You do that type of behavior? Mm-hmm. You swim with alligators. Mm-hmm. Where? In her pond. What?
Starting point is 00:12:41 In her pond. Dawn, is this true? Yes. To my knowledge, this is not true. It is true. This would be stamped fault. It is true. Oh.
Starting point is 00:12:50 I can't see behind the shades. Because I knew. Well, there's a pelican. I'll just put the pelican and the pond in. Goodbye. And let the alligators get him? Hannah. My brothers would probably laugh too, but it's funny.
Starting point is 00:13:06 Hannah Genevieve. Ruthless. What have we done? How'd you become so tough, willed like that, where you're just willing to face it all, you know? Well, just throwing the pond like goodbye. That's true. It's one good way to get rid of a pet, I think.
Starting point is 00:13:22 Just throwing in lava. Put more in lava. Put on the pond. Say goodbye. Meat for the alligators. Yeah, I guess it's a way to have. Yeah, that's the Florida way. That's very much the Florida way.
Starting point is 00:13:34 They're building a lot of detention centers down. They're doing a lot of crazy stuff to get rid of folks. So I wouldn't be surprised. Do you know a lot about animals or not? No, really. You feed them, you play with them, they sleep. They get fat. Done.
Starting point is 00:13:49 That's fair? Yeah. Is there an animal you would like to get that you think you're not allowed to have? Because I know dad... A hamster. My dad does not want a hamster. What? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:00 You don't want one of those little floor bears? It's a hamster. Some people call them floor bears. at them. They're cute. I know they're cute. Do you know I used to sell hamsters of my first job? Well, you better give me one.
Starting point is 00:14:14 I kind of want one of those. Those are cute. I heard you can't even have one, though. Well, my dad would be surprised. I would actually get one. You think we could sneak, maybe you could sneak one in? Yeah. Because I could go on the airplane.
Starting point is 00:14:29 For sure. Put it in your pocket. I'd like that. I just buy a cage from Amazon or something. That's easy. But dad might know. notice a cage comes in the mail. He's going to pick what goes in here.
Starting point is 00:14:39 I didn't not think of that. He just probably throwing on the phone. I think that through. You got to think that through. No, I would buy a cage, put the hamster in the cage, and then I'll take it with me on the airplane. Okay. And then he can't do anything about it once it comes home.
Starting point is 00:14:55 That's fair. Yeah. Who runs the household at your house? Is it mom, dad? Me. You? You? Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:15:05 Don, is this true or not? Yes. In some regard, it probably is true. She's the fourth typical... Yeah, I know. That's embarrassing to admit. Well, I pretty much clean the whole house. That one over there doesn't do anything.
Starting point is 00:15:18 She doesn't clean anything. Yeah, Jonah. Sorry, John, but he doesn't do anything either. What? Jonah's not even here to defend himself. Yeah, that's bad. But do you think it's true that he doesn't do anything? Yes.
Starting point is 00:15:31 If you went to court, what would the judge decide that he does do things or he does not do anything. Do not do anything. Oh my God. Guilty. Guilty. And what should his sentence be? How many years in prison you think?
Starting point is 00:15:45 I won. That's fair. Teach him some lessons. Teach him how to do some stuff? Mm-hmm. What are the chores that you wish some of your family members would do more of to really help you out? I'm the one who cooks. Dawn.
Starting point is 00:15:58 I do in fact cook. No, you do not. I cook the food. Hannah, you cook the food? What are you cooking? Um, pasta. Every night? Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:16:12 So you have seven nights of pasta. Yep. Every night. So if you had a restaurant, it would be called seven nights of pasta? Mm-hmm. And what would you serve? Pasta. Every kind of pasta.
Starting point is 00:16:23 Hmm. Pasta salad. Pasta. Shrimpasta? What? Yeah. That's a kind of pasta. You don't have it?
Starting point is 00:16:35 Well, not. shrimp, maybe like, I don't know, some hamlet pasta. What's another kind of pasta if you had to pick that you... Pasta salad, cheese pasta, macaroni and cheese. I love every pasta, except shrimp. Name one more pasta. I don't know. I can't think of anything more.
Starting point is 00:16:54 You like the pasta with the red sauce? Yes. And I like salt. Okay. Italian pasta? Well, I like pasta where there's like salt on it, and I put the, I put like this much salt. Are you allowed to have that much? Yeah, it's just old. Yeah, you're right. That's a good call. Take me into your family. So how many children do you have, Dawn? Four. Thank you. Dawn.
Starting point is 00:17:21 And were you excited about all of the kids? Was there ever a kid, but you got it? And you're like, ah, this one, you know, hit or miss? No. I never thought that we would have four kids. That was kind of a surprise. Where do you meet your husband. Niceville. That's where, so I grew up in the panhandle. And I had gone away to college and I came back. Oh, you moved. Yes. Oh, no wonder. I'm saying you're from Alabama. I told you I wasn't from Alabama. Well, I did not trust that. I told you. Well, now I do. I was not born in Alabama. I didn't ever even live in Alabama. Well, now grandma would probably do. That's correct. I love the dirt roads. Same. I just want to roll around in it. I do too.
Starting point is 00:18:08 No, you don't. No, I want to walk on it, though. So we met at community college. Community college is good. A lot of people go. I mean, it's good. Yeah. And we went.
Starting point is 00:18:20 And you guys met there. We did, yes. And y'all fell in love. We did fast. So we met. Grace is a high school dropout. She dropped out of school. She didn't drop out.
Starting point is 00:18:35 She didn't. Was she doing drugs? No. It's on line hand Well that's good then So she's making a lot of good choices Why did she quit school She didn't feel like she's a lazy bum
Starting point is 00:18:49 I wouldn't That's not my choice of words It is mine It's my words She's ruthless Is she always ruthless like this? Yes So you and your husband's name is
Starting point is 00:19:04 Travis You and Travis Get together Y'all get married first We met And we were engaged two months later, two months later. Whoa. And then we-
Starting point is 00:19:15 That's fast love. It was super fast. And I mean, it sounds crazy now, but at the time it didn't feel crazy. And then we were- It's called fast-loved on. Yeah. And it's okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:25 I guess it is because here we are like 26 years later. Yeah. You made the greatest choice, I think. I think so. Like we didn't have all the junk in our head at that point. You know what I mean? Like just world just stress. But, Mom, I really, so for my birthday, can you get me like some Calico
Starting point is 00:19:40 Critters. Yeah. Maybe we could chat about it later. Yeah. Closer to your birthday. Yeah. It's coming up, though. I'm going to be 10.
Starting point is 00:19:48 You are? Mm-hmm. Yeah. In April? May. May. Okay. It's exciting.
Starting point is 00:19:55 May 28. Wait, one? Yep. You know it. May 28. May 2016. Okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:02 And so you, when do you meet your first child? Or when do you have your first child? Oh, I was like. Sally and a Jonah. So my first one. And what's funny is their best friends. I don't know why she's doing this, because they're literally best friends. So he is 23.
Starting point is 00:20:18 So he was born in 2002. Oh, why? Oh, wow, y'all. Oh, wow. The interwebs. You literally looks with a cowboy hat. So is this your family? That is a very old photo.
Starting point is 00:20:30 That was being in Mommy Sand. Where? And then gray. I put that pink dress. Maybe. Maybe something within the. Grace was with the hair. Within the decade.
Starting point is 00:20:45 I looked pretty good. Let's see. Zoom in on that baby, huh? Oh, yes. Just not on the baby's mother. Oh, it's a beautiful family there. And who is the guy on the left? Is that Tyler Childers?
Starting point is 00:20:58 That is my brother, Joel. Okay, and how's he doing? Very well. He's working on being... He's a little turn bucket. Or that. He's working hard to be an in... Don't tell us the truth,
Starting point is 00:21:09 because it doesn't sound like she's telling us the truth. No, he is a turn bucket. You're telling us the truth. Is Dawn telling us the truth? Yes. She said he's doing great. Well, he is, but he's a little turn bucket. Oh, you're right.
Starting point is 00:21:21 Okay, so both things can be true. Yes. Okay. So how was he doing? He's doing great. He is working. He's 21 now. I think in that photo.
Starting point is 00:21:30 Well, why did you put me in that dress? I apologize. No, that is a good question. Let's stop for a second and look at this kid's dress. Because first of all, you look like a little something that would, like, a little Easter present. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:43 And you wore an Easter present. Isn't your birthday right around Easter? Technically Memorial Day. Yeah. I didn't even know Memorial Day even existed. Hey, it's not Easter. And then my brother Jonah. Yeah, let's take us into the next child.
Starting point is 00:22:00 So you get one child and you guys are digging it and you're like, let's get another child. So Jonah is like the one at the top. They're going to love that you guys float this back. And how's he doing today? Be honest with us. He's fun. He plays video games.
Starting point is 00:22:17 Never wants to bathe the dog. Never wants to brush the dog. Never wants to mow the lawn. It's a lot. Yeah, he never does anything. He's also working on being an engineer. So he's pretty bright. And he sadly doesn't want to move.
Starting point is 00:22:33 He doesn't really want to move out. He doesn't want to move out. I'm trying to steal one of their rooms. I see. So you have a plan in all of this. You want to get rid of one of these people. Well, I want to get rid of Joel, finally. Because he has the biggest room. He's a turd bucket. And yeah. And we've already determined that Joel is dealing with some bucket issues or whatever. Because you never heard of that word but much.
Starting point is 00:23:03 You know, obviously Joel is doing his thing. But here's my question. Do you have your own room, Hannah? No, I have to live with mom and my dad, the one that snores, and I can barely even sleep. And why don't you have your own room? We didn't buy a bigger house. And it's a black house. It's brown. Brown, black, poopy brown. She does hate the color of the house and her advantage.
Starting point is 00:23:35 It's horrible. And so, so you get to the third, who's the third child? Um, Grace. Yeah, grace. Grace.
Starting point is 00:23:46 Okay. Actually, no, it was me. Yeah, it was me. It was Gracey. It was me. Okay, well, let's just get to that. Let's get to the magic then. When was Hannah born?
Starting point is 00:23:56 2016. 2016. Okay. And Hannah has, you have some, you have like a, kind of like a thing. It's called stenosis? Yeah. And what?
Starting point is 00:24:07 What is it? Because I've heard of it, but I haven't really heard a lot. I don't know a lot about it. Well, Mom, how are you told? Do you want me to tell that part? Okay. So technically it's a lysosomal storage disorder. And how do we say it? Cisthenosis. Cisthenosis. Yep. You did very good. We've talked to doctors before, and they mispronounce it. So you did better than they did.
Starting point is 00:24:29 But essentially, cystine, which is an amino acid, doesn't get transported through the cells correctly. and so they accumulate on all of the major organs. So a lot of times people think, oh, it's just a kidney disease or it's just to this. It affects all of the major organs. So like my son has had two kidney transplants. Who, Joel or Jonah? Joel. Okay.
Starting point is 00:24:53 Yeah. He's had two kidney transplants. In his teenage years. He's remarkable. And now he's working hard to be an EMT, which is just. He's always been a little but much. Yeah. Give him some credit.
Starting point is 00:25:03 He deserves a lot of credit. Seventh kidney. My sister had a liver transplant when we were little. Oh, wow. And so I know what it's like to be like around that. The sibling, yeah. Yeah, and just like what it's like. And it's kind of scary sometimes as a sibling because you don't exactly know what's going on.
Starting point is 00:25:21 Right. Even though you get some information, it can be kind of. But you still can only process so much at that age. Yeah, you're a kid. And it can be kind of alarming. And sometimes it was, I felt like we couldn't play with my sister because she would have like a lot of scars and stuff. And so that was kind of, that was different. So, but it was interesting.
Starting point is 00:25:40 But, yeah, she had a liver transplant and she's doing great. That's awesome. How does cystinosis kind of affect you, like, on a daily basis? Do you even feel it when you get up in the morning, Hannah? No. You don't even know about it. No. I drink water.
Starting point is 00:25:56 Then I go eat. Eat, sleep, eat, drink. Be fabulous. Yeah. Happy Fourth of July. I'm not right. And so, what is it, how do you see that it affects her mom anyways? You know, life for us is, I love the fact that she doesn't notice a lot.
Starting point is 00:26:16 It means that maybe, you know, maybe as a family we might be doing something right. Well, my posting or something? No, no. Because I take a shower, eat, sleep, watch TV, play, drink. Yeah, I mean, we've all. And then I go back to sleep. Oh, do you? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:35 She finished it up with some sleep, huh? Mm-hmm. Do you dream at night or no? No. Hannah, don't lie. I'm not. Trust me. You're talking to your sleep, Han.
Starting point is 00:26:45 Oh. Yeah. Who are you talking to? I don't know. I mean, she just doesn't stop talking. It's just like anybody. I always just talk all the time. Well, that's good.
Starting point is 00:26:56 I'm glad you talk. People like hearing you talk. It's entertaining and it's fun. It is. What are some things about cystinosis that people don't know, just in general. Gosh, I don't think they know a lot. It's very rare.
Starting point is 00:27:10 You're talking less than... How old are you? I'm like nine. And then they're like, I thought you were four or one or two, three. Yeah. And I'm like, I don't look that short. Yeah, they thought you were one? Well, probably not one, but like at least three or four or five.
Starting point is 00:27:26 The lady the other day in Alta, she thought you were what? I think three. Did she say four? Yeah. That's bonkers. I don't even look four. No. Like, I feel that I'm tall, but I guess I'm not.
Starting point is 00:27:40 Newsflags. We might not be. A story of my life. We all want to be that tall, bad girl, you know? Or, I mean, we all want to be like that. That one is like a giant. Yeah, well, I'll tell you this. She had a lot of time to grow when she wasn't at school.
Starting point is 00:27:55 Yeah. You know? She's been focusing on growth. And her friend Bella, she's like almost the size of me. She's like one foot taller. Is there any unique things that people have to kind of do? Like my sister has to take like sort of like organ rejection medication so that like because she got a transplant. I know she didn't get one. But I'm just saying sometimes when you have certain things that are part of your life, you have certain things you have to do. And that, I mean, obviously, yeah. Well, I literally do the same thing every day.
Starting point is 00:30:01 eat, sleep, drink, like TV play. Yeah. Yeah. And guess what the last one is? A shower. Nope, one more. Sleep. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:10 Welcome back. That's true for her too. So she does, she has a G-tube. Well, I'm doing an impersonation. Guess who it is, Hannah? That's definitely my dad. Yeah. Let's go.
Starting point is 00:30:23 This is going to work well. Yeah. So. Because it's like, wait, mom, what does she does when he's sleeping? Who? Dad. Daddy? I mean, he definitely snores, yeah. Yeah, and then he, like, wakes up, go back to sleep.
Starting point is 00:30:37 Yep. That's what happens when you get older. You don't ever sleep through the night. Well, I always do. I never snore. And I don't know, like, I never snore. That one does. That one sleeps with her mouth gaped open. What kind of world are you living in?
Starting point is 00:30:54 I have no idea. Those people are crazy. Tell me about it. I can barely even believe that. you're able to survive over there, Hannah, around these people. Yeah, I need a move. I'm like, I need my own room. And my sister stole the color of my room. What?
Starting point is 00:31:11 She stole my bed from my old room. I had like the perfect, in the old house, in our own house, I had my own room and my own playroom. Oh. That you never used. I did use that. You never let me sleep in there. Why not? I literally wanted to sleep in there.
Starting point is 00:31:29 Were there mice in there? No. There was a lot of mice in our house when I was a kid. I've always wanted a rat. Oh. I've always wanted a mouse. Yeah, she's obsessed with Ratatoui, so she would, that'd be cool to her. They're so cute.
Starting point is 00:31:43 Yeah. Well, they're cute. I'll tell you this. Ratatoui, first of all, the movie, it's about 20 minutes too long. I will say that. Oh, she would disagree, yeah. Vimently disagree, actually. Well, I like the part where they cook.
Starting point is 00:31:57 Yeah. Especially the whole thing. Oh, yeah. I like it. I mean, I like it, but I'm just at a certain point, I'm like, hurry it up, we get it. There's like a little bit extra on there for me that's just a little bit too much. I like Colette. Yes.
Starting point is 00:32:13 Let's bring up the characters. So Coolet is the girl with the like the purple hair. There she is. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I like Reddit Tui. I'll ask you this. Just, I'm going to ask Dawn something real quick.
Starting point is 00:32:29 Is there okay if I asked Dawn something? Yes. Thank you. Yeah, are there any special things that someone has to do that's a part of their life? Before there might ever be a transplant. There's still just a lot of medications. So she has a G-tube to make things easier. Eye drops, meds, they're harsh.
Starting point is 00:32:51 They hurt her stomach. And obviously, since it affects your kidneys first, obviously it's stents your growth. You can take growth hormone lately. We've kind of... Yeah, I'm never doing that. We haven't started that yet. We did that with my son, but... But that's a choice you have to make, I guess, as a parent for a child, huh?
Starting point is 00:33:11 That's kind of interesting. It's hard because you always worry, you know... All right, next subject. What's something you admire about each one of your children, Dawn? How about that? Let's get the truth here. I'm the favorite. She tells everybody that, too.
Starting point is 00:33:28 Because I am the favorite. Is it the truth, though? Yes. Why? Because I'm just a better child. That one doesn't clean. Yep. None of our kids clean here.
Starting point is 00:33:41 Joel never cleans the dishwasher, never does anything. I'm like, huh. Yeah. Golly Moses. And what are the chores you like to do the most then? Yeah. Let's do that. Wash dishes.
Starting point is 00:33:56 Vacuum. Clean the counters. That's pretty much all I do. Okay. I make my dad and stuff. Okay. Yeah. I respect that.
Starting point is 00:34:07 And I cook too. Do you? Yep. What's one of your favorite things to cook? Chicken noodle soup, biscuits. Pasta. How about our pizzas that you make? Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:20 Pizza, cheesy bread. I like cheesy bread. They had cheesy bread, yeah. Yeah, I make my own. We got a new fire. What are those like the? Like the pizza ovens? oven? Those are good.
Starting point is 00:34:31 Yeah. Those are really good. Just for the record, we don't even order pizza anymore. It's amazing. Yeah, it's really good. Dude, when people order pizza, I'm like, what are you doing? You could make this in your yard in a minute. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:42 Absolutely. Are you out of your mind? I even will, if my neighbors order pizza, if I see a pizza, I'll go out and blow like a big horn at their house. And I say, what are you doing? They're ordering pizza. Well, maybe they don't have an oven or something. Yeah, but just get a pan and even put just like a lighter or a candle under it. you can do that so easily now.
Starting point is 00:35:04 Yeah. I see like you kind of like, it feels like you're growing up kind of fast. Do you ever feel like that, Mom? Do you feel like she's growing up? She's going older. Not me, Hannah. That wasn't directed out of me.
Starting point is 00:35:17 Mom's doing great. Yeah. But Hannah's growing up so fast. Do you feel sometimes Hannah like you're just growing up too fast? No. You think you're growing up at the right speed? Yep.
Starting point is 00:35:27 What do you see like another line of work? Like, what's a real line of work? work that you want to get into one day. Like when you're driving down the road and you see a guy working in construction or you see a woman like fetching water from a well or milking an animal or something. Oh, that one wants to have a farm. I don't know why. Well, she has a baking channel.
Starting point is 00:35:46 So she likes to bake. Yeah. So she could probably use ingredients. Yeah. Do you like ingredients? Like stuff to put in a cake. Yes. Uh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:57 Yeah, you have to have this for, like, baking. Yeah, I like this. I like ingredients. I've always liked them. Yeah. But what's that line of work you see yourself getting into? A chef. A chef. Okay. And your restaurant, obviously, we know it's called Seven Days of Pasta. Will there ever be a day where you'll have one other item that will be different?
Starting point is 00:36:20 Nope. Pickle pasta. Pickle pasta? Pickle pasta. Mm. Like, I like pickles, but like not in pasta. But if someone wants something like sour, then like they can have that. We'll do it.
Starting point is 00:36:35 I like that. Do you have bread? Do you have any appetizers even? Yeah. What are some of the appetizers are going to have? Wait, maybe some shrimp and bread and oil. I like that. Yeah, my favorite food is pasta.
Starting point is 00:36:48 I like ravioli. I love ravioli. I also love olive garden. You do? Yeah. What's your favorite thing about it? The alfredo and the breadsticks. Yeah. Breadsticks are good.
Starting point is 00:37:01 Yeah. God, sometimes I just want to put one in my mouth and have somebody come up and just hit it right down my face with a hammer. My dream is like to put like my mouth under like the frozen yogurt machine and just like eat it. Yes, girl. Okay. But here's what I've heard. My friend's done that and your face gets so cold because that thing's very cold. Yeah. You think you could handle it? Yeah. I love cold. Just wear earmuffs.
Starting point is 00:37:27 Yeah. Um, one of your, I saw a video of this one thing I learned about you. I saw a video of you. It was at a Christmas shop and that was like a busy video that you guys had. What happened there? Take me behind the scenes with some of this video. Let me see it really quick again. What age was this when you were working?
Starting point is 00:37:45 Hannah, I know this is one of your early films. Sorry, I'm wasting a lot of your money, but I'm going to have to get a knock card. This is the best tree I ever saw my food. Oh, God. I love this store. What is this? Macy's. That's Macy's?
Starting point is 00:38:05 Mm-hmm. I love Macy's. I love places Michael's where you can get crafts. Oh, I love Michael's. We actually got a deal with Michaels. You do? Yeah. I love that.
Starting point is 00:38:15 What are you going to make over there? We probably got like every deal in the world. Dang. We haven't got Apple. You haven't got Apple? No, we do. You got Apple? Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:38:24 You got an Apple? No, we got like a computer, like a pink computer. And then we also got like, um, like, AirPaws. Oh. Pretty much everything else for me in that box. Well, I mean, it was supposed to be. No. No.
Starting point is 00:38:42 As it should have been. No. What are some ways, obviously mom is having trouble parenting when it comes to you. Is that safe to say you think? She doesn't have any trouble. She does a good job. Maybe. And if you were a parent, how would, what kind of, what things would you do differently you think?
Starting point is 00:39:00 Well, if they would scream, then I'll just put them up in the bathroom. and I locked the door. Yeah. Let me say every parent it's not legal But kind of like a dog Well, people do it, you know
Starting point is 00:39:13 People do it a lot Do you think you would teach your, like What's like something like a thing you would try to instill in your kids So they would know some- I would just put them in the bedroom Out like a like a ginormous wall in the bedroom And then like lock the doors And then yeah
Starting point is 00:39:32 They can never get out. They can never get out until they stop screaming. Okay. So that's only if they scream? Cry, do anything. Well, what would be the things that you would do if they were good or to, like, help them be a good person? Yeah. What would you do?
Starting point is 00:39:48 Oh, they can just move out, really. Yeah, look, if they want that kind of life, they can hit the road and figure out. Yeah, exactly. We're keeping it 100 over here. Hannah, you know, people are wondering, I think a lot of people are like, what is she going to do next?
Starting point is 00:40:07 Is she going to start a cartoon? Is she going to come out? I'm definitely not a cartoon. I hate cartoons. Okay. That's out. So people quit wondering that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:15 Is she going to come out with her own, like, cookware? Is she going to come out with, like, maybe a special spatula? Well, I'm going to... Well, I want my own cook. Show. Okay.
Starting point is 00:40:29 Like, you know, those, like, those cook shows where they have to, like, get the ingruonians, hurry up and cook. Kind of like those, like, I want to cook with, like, Bobby Filet and, like, their competition. Do you think Bobby Filet is a good chef? Yeah. You do? Bring up Bobby Filet. His daughter's really, she's a newscaster. Anyway, I'm lonesome.
Starting point is 00:40:51 I don't know why I said that. Let's keep going. Bobby Filet, huh? And who else is on your chef list? Oh, the Nick? Yeah, Nick Giovanni. What is it about him and some of his recipes, or what is it? He cooks really good posture.
Starting point is 00:41:08 I watch him all the time. You do? What's the big thing about the big Parmesan wheel? So it's like a big parmesan wheel. He like cars the inside and then he like grabs, so like some of the, yeah, like there. Let's see it. Can we see this in action? I'm just, I'm very...
Starting point is 00:41:24 It's really good. I've always wanted to try it. Well, I'm curious about it. That's all Parmesan? Yeah, the whole wheel. What is on the outside? Cheese, of course. That's the rind.
Starting point is 00:41:44 Yeah. So. Right. Have you ever asked for like, what's something? I've always wanted that big wheel cheese. Yeah, because, like, I've always wanted to make that recipe. And how much cheese do you need for that? Like, the whole wheel.
Starting point is 00:42:02 Yeah. I mean, look at this guy right here. carving a pumpkin? What is this? That's cheese. So he's trying to open it and yeah. Honestly Anna, what's the most amount of cheese you think someone should be able to have?
Starting point is 00:42:16 That much right there. Do you think there should be a limit on how much cheese someone can have? They can have as much as they like. Because that's like really good cheese and it's like really good to like Alfredo pasta. You just have to add like milk
Starting point is 00:42:33 and then that cheese and then melt it, like cook it, of course. And then you put the pasta in the pot and the butter and the Alphrates sauce. And then once you got your pasta in the thing, in the cheese, then you dump the alfredo sauce in the cheese, like in the big circle, the big wheel of cheese. And then you got like, like, he carved it in the inside, and then he, like, you put the pot.
Starting point is 00:43:05 I'll say. Okay. We're going to need you to step out of the vehicle now. Okay. That's all I'm saying is. Yeah, look. Yeah, he is. Let me see one more time.
Starting point is 00:43:16 Let me see that. It's like a honeycomb of cheese. Yeah. Yeah, he's putting the pasta in there. In the cheese? Yes. Oh, that's so good. God, that looks so good.
Starting point is 00:43:28 I've always wanted that. Yeah, I just want some of that. God, it's almost, like the cheese is like just taking a bath or something in that. Would you take a bath and cheese? Yes. Yeah, like, hey, mom, what do you mean?
Starting point is 00:43:44 I would eat it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Eat, rest your head on it? Yeah. That'd be good. If you had a whole bed made out of cheese. Yes.
Starting point is 00:43:52 What kind of cheese are we talking? That cheese. Parmesan. Mm-hmm. Okay. Parmesan or Regiana? Is that what that is? I'm pretty sure.
Starting point is 00:44:00 I don't know. I think so. Okay. I respect that. Do you have a favorite holiday kind of? Christmas. It is? And what about it?
Starting point is 00:44:09 But I hate the Grinch. Why? He's weird and I don't like him. He's green. And he steals things from the kids. Yeah. Which is not cool. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:20 Have you ever stolen anything? No. Well, I was stolen things from my sister and my brother, but... But they deserved it. Yeah. Where do you hide everything that you steal? Well, I tell you. Yeah
Starting point is 00:44:36 Good goal Look and that's how they try to trap you They try to get the answers out of you You have to be careful Yeah You know Because one time I stole my sister's Little mini unicorns
Starting point is 00:44:48 And I've been trying to get those for years And I actually got them Well I've always got them And then I put them in my fridge But she finally found them Now I'm gonna try to steal them again Yeah she has a play kitchen That she
Starting point is 00:45:00 Everybody knows If they're missing something They go straight to her play kitchen because she hides everything in the same spot. Then I'll move them and I'll put them somewhere different. I get it. Well, I have a new hiding spot. You don't move anything.
Starting point is 00:45:13 I get it. I will now. Have you ever considered burying something in the yard? Well, then I'll literally never find it again. Do you think you forget? Yeah, I forget all the time. You do? I forget what I'm going to say.
Starting point is 00:45:27 You've been traveling a lot, right? Have you? What's a place you've been that you really did not enjoy very much? And you can be honest with this. I literally don't even know. I like every place that I've been to. You do? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:46 But I didn't like the place where we went to New York, where like, there's like people like sleeping on the road and stuff and on the sidewalk. People camping out and stuff, you mean? Yeah. It's kind of weird. Yeah. I'm just like, get a job. I'm like, who are you? Yeah. It's like. That's for you.
Starting point is 00:46:05 There's certain ways to look. at it. And I think you have to figure all that out. You have to factor that in. What's something you and Hannah love to do together? We like to play Uno. Oh, I like Uno. We like to cook. I mean, obviously, I'm not a great cook.
Starting point is 00:46:22 Mom, what do we eat together? Everything? Maybe. Well, we pretty much eat yeah, eat everything. Yeah. Well, you eat everything. Well, you eat everything. Yeah, thanks. Yeah. moms have to taste everything before their kids can make sure it's safe It's like a quality issue
Starting point is 00:46:40 It's important Making sure they're not like poisoning you know It's pretty important Yeah because you want to eat it There's no poison in the food that you make You never know What's the worst food you've ever had you think? I know you're going to say it
Starting point is 00:46:58 Mexican food and Indian food Yeah What was it about them? Well I don't like, I just don't like, look, I actually do, like, the tacos, and I like the, like, the, like, the wacamole and stuff. Yeah. But, like, I don't, I don't like anything else.
Starting point is 00:47:15 The tacos and the, what is it? Tacos and wacamole. Yes. But my dad says he's going to eat a banana and an al-a-cada in the morning. Why? I don't know. He's like, honey, did you get the banana and al-a-cato? He was going on a diet, right?
Starting point is 00:47:30 Yeah. Yeah. And his dad, um, does dad like, to diet? What does dad like to do for fun? He likes to fix his car, but instead of fixing the car, he likes to break the car instead of fixing it.
Starting point is 00:47:46 Yeah. That's dad. That's that, you know? What's a regular day at school like, Hannah? Are you still going to school? Uh, yeah. Think if I'm not in high school, drop out like Grace. Is that true grace? Yes. She literally dropped out of school.
Starting point is 00:48:05 It's okay, Grace. A lot of my family is not even, or they're not all the way done yet. That's how we say it. Do you have some close friends at school? What's it like over there? Well, I actually do homeschooling. You do? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:19 And who's your teacher? Her name is Miss Sarah the Evil Queen. She calls her teacher the Evil Queen, yes. It's true. Because she is evil. She's forcing me to do homework. But that's her job. She's a teacher.
Starting point is 00:48:34 So she's getting paid. to do this? You're right. Why do we pay people to do pure evil? Yeah. I agree. Great question. It's a great question. I just want to talk.
Starting point is 00:48:47 Dawn, you stay super busy. No. She sits down all the time. She does nothing. She has to be doing something. She's not. She's not. Dawn, tell us the truth.
Starting point is 00:49:02 She always cleanses up my toys. She cleans them up? Yeah, she cleans my toys. No, only my toys, though. Only the toys. Only the toys. Mommy the evil queen. Well, what are some things that, what are some things, though, that you're working on,
Starting point is 00:49:16 like, behind the scenes right now? Like, what are some stuff that people don't know that's going on? Yeah. Well, because of all of this, and I realized we had an opportunity to have a little bit of a platform and a little bit of a voice, I always wanted to start our own foundation, something that would leave a legacy for the kids and that would help. other families like ours. So that's what we've been working on.
Starting point is 00:49:38 We just launched it yesterday. We're super excited about... What do we look? Amma, are you going to give him the present? Congratulations. This is the Strickland Hope Foundation? Thank you. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:49 So we're excited, you know, when we were going through... It took almost two years to find out with my son because they had the same condition. So it took almost two years. Oddly enough, the driver said, have y'all been in Nashville before? And I was like, I couldn't think about it. I think I blocked it out.
Starting point is 00:50:06 My son got his diagnosis at Vanderbilt. Wow. So we didn't know what was wrong with him and we just kept going and going and going. So remember when I clogged up the shower and the hotel? Yeah, she flooded the whole bathroom today. Oh. Yeah, because I really wanted a bath, but they didn't have a bath. So I just, you know, made into a bath.
Starting point is 00:50:28 I think you have to do that sometimes. So why we started the Tricklin Hope Foundation. So your son had this. Joel? Joel with the red hair, yep. So Joel had cystinosis. He still does, yes. He still does.
Starting point is 00:50:44 And he's obviously a turd munch or whatever. What is he? A bucket head. Turd bucket. Yeah, turd bucket. Sorry. Yeah. Anyway, we're back to him.
Starting point is 00:50:52 And sorry, Joel, I know you're not here to defend yourself, but that's what happens when you send your siblings out. Yeah. And you don't go with them, bro? You face the wrath. But here's my question is, So you didn't even know. It was hard to know what the diet.
Starting point is 00:51:06 It was hard to get diagnosed. Absolutely. What did you think was going on? Well, we knew it was serious. He was treated for the wrong condition for seven months at a different children's hospital. So we had good do good dad? Yeah, pretty much. That's what they literally, I mean, she laughs about it.
Starting point is 00:51:23 But like, they just kept saying it was a working diagnosis. So anyway, long story short, when we found out what it was, I mean, we went through a lot. And it's challenging. I mean, I suppose you would understand some of that, too. And I remember one of the first things when he faced his first transplant, one of the first things they said were, you know, like, how are you going to pay for this? Are you going to start a go fund me?
Starting point is 00:51:46 And that was like the biggest slap in the face. Like, so now I've got to go beg for money to make sure that my kid can have a transplant. And we had excellent insurance. Listen, long story short, I just vowed that no other family, dealing with a chronic condition is enough. Yeah. That's enough. And that's enough stress. And that's enough stress on a relationship, on the family dynamics, on the siblings. So that's my mission. I just, I want to be there to help in tangible ways, whether it be financial, whether they need medical equipment, whether they need therapy services, counseling. If the mother and father needs counseling to deal with this new diagnosis, they should be able to have that. if a family is functioning and functioning well and they are whole and they are taken care of, then they can be good caregivers.
Starting point is 00:52:37 And that's the most important thing is making sure that each member of the family is taken care of. Yeah, it's a lot. I mean, I remember I would go to like Ronald McDonald's house and stay over there. And over the years, I've gone there and just like done like, just like you can go there and I kind of volunteer to hang out and sometimes it looks after you to be over there. but just seeing what families do, right? And what it's like to have a family be around something that happens, that is like a surprise to your family, a medical surprise. Right.
Starting point is 00:53:08 And so the foundation will help support people that need these extracurriculars kind of? Yes, absolutely. We're still working out everything as far as what we will help out with. But I've been in this, we've lived with this for long enough. I know firsthand, and I also know, you know, from having friends in our little community, often they need help with paying bills, you know. Lots of times the spouse now needs to stay home and take care of the child, so you lose that second income.
Starting point is 00:53:42 What does that look like? I want to help provide, if you need to go to community college or wherever and get my jacket, okay? Yeah, that's great. And get training or certificate so that you can work from home and now make money from home. whatever it is. Well, how are you making money? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:57 Not me. Yeah. Because we're not seeing any of it. Right? Yeah. So just help them in any way possible. You know, lots of times there's programs for co-pays and things like that. But there are so many gaps.
Starting point is 00:54:12 Do you need help, babe? See? You want to give it to Gracie? Grace. Grace. Grace. Don't throw it. Can you help out, please.
Starting point is 00:54:22 Come on. Half a month. We know you've taken off of school, but... I know. High school drop out. So we're still figuring out exactly how the Hope Foundation will help, but we know it's going to help. Families in ways that they're affected that they may not even see coming and ways that you guys have had experience with. Yes.
Starting point is 00:54:46 Because we have had... Listen, it's embarrassing. We've had to ask for money before. We've had to borrow money. It's embarrassing, it's degrading, it's stressful. And the thing about it is you're already concerned. You're a parent who's going through a lot, whether it's new or whether you've been walking this road for a few years. You know, you're tired.
Starting point is 00:55:08 You often go without sleep. You're sleep deprived. And you don't make good decisions when you're sleep deprived. So my mom said if I did good on this show, then I could also get like a 3DIS. A 3DS is like It's like an old game It's like an old Nintendo Switch That I've also really wanted for a long time
Starting point is 00:55:29 And my brother has one Okay And it's really cool So I've always wanted one of those And hopefully I get one of those So You just making sure she remembers that Yeah
Starting point is 00:55:41 Let me call you out in front of him I think was that yeah And I respect that You should be an attorney I think Yeah Okay so just so we know And it's called the Stryklin.
Starting point is 00:55:52 It's called Stryklokinus. Strickland Hope Foundation. It's like that awesome. Strickland Hope Foundation. And we're just getting it started. Yep. We'll keep us posted. So we can help donate at some point.
Starting point is 00:56:06 I hope you'll keep us posted. Mom, can you give them a present? Do you guys get a present for me? Yes, I do. I will. I'll give him a present whenever he thinks it's appropriate. What is something that you really admire about each person?
Starting point is 00:56:20 person in your family. So that one. Something you love. Make it real. Yeah. Something real that you love about each one. Okay. So Jonah actually plays with me.
Starting point is 00:56:34 Okay. So you like that Jonah plays with you. That's pretty much all. Each one you have to do. All right. Joel, what's something you love about, Joel? I guess he makes fun of me. Does you like to laugh?
Starting point is 00:56:47 He doesn't laugh about me. He is? He's extremely. funny. So he makes you laugh? No. Oh. Yes. No. He makes you laugh. He never makes you laugh? No. Never? Never. Well, here's one of the questions I have in it is that there's a lot of rumors like a lot of like influencers and people in the media and personalities and stuff like you like someone like you are like kind of like are going to, they're sending them to outer space. They sent Katie Perry to outer space last. One last year. You believe that. I don't.
Starting point is 00:57:23 But for the sake of this question. For the sake of this question. She did not go there. You think she lied? Yes. Outer space lied. Yeah. Outer space lied.
Starting point is 00:57:36 You're right. But here's a question is, if they set you up nice, they give you a nice first class seat, you're headed outer space. Would you go to outer space? No. Why? I just don't want to. I want to stay at home. You could miss something important and outer space.
Starting point is 00:57:53 So, I don't care about allspers. What are you going to do at home? Eat, sleep. We've been over this. Oh, yeah. Big fact, you're right. Who's your best friend? Let's get that out of you here, Anna.
Starting point is 00:58:06 Who's your best friend? And where's she at today? I think she's at home writing a book about me. Well, me and my sister. Very fair. I heard you almost got in trouble for a crime. Is that true at some point? About what?
Starting point is 00:58:23 That's just what I heard, that there was a small crime or something you almost kind of drove before? What crime? Have you ever done a crime? Well, maybe I almost took a candy boat out of the store without paying, but... But hey. I mean... I almost sneaked out. But you didn't, right?
Starting point is 00:58:42 But you didn't, huh? No, mom accidentally caught me. That's what I like. I like that. I like that honesty, too. Hannah, is there anything that you want to talk about today that you feel like is important and that's been on your mind? No.
Starting point is 00:58:55 I think about food. You do? Yeah. All day. Yeah. Well, take me, just give me like a favorite. What's like an appetizer that you absolutely love? Oysters?
Starting point is 00:59:09 What? Have you had oysters? Yes, and they're gross. I like oyster soup, but. You like oyster soup? I've never even had that. Well, clam chowder soup. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:21 I like clam chowders. Okay. Well, then this is it then. before we get to my birthday cake If you're on a desert island You only get one meal What is? Aligarden. It would be olive garden.
Starting point is 00:59:36 That's like a whole restaurant. It'd be olive garden on a desert island? Yep. You think they're going to have an olive garden there? Well, I would eat if they did have it there. Yeah. I feel you. Frozen lasagna, medium power,

Starting point is 01:02:11 Well, if I'm freezing. If you're freezing, you'd have a snow cone. Well, I would have chocolate cake with a vanilla layer. And milk. I like that. Yeah. If you could meet Dolly Parton, what's one thing that you would say to her?
Starting point is 01:02:35 I have no idea, honestly. So I really don't. What's your favorite song from Dolly that you love that always comes up on the, when we watch the videos? Have you heard that song, I Will Always Love You That one? No. Have you heard 9 to 5? Yeah. There's no way to learn a living.
Starting point is 01:02:52 Yeah. How do you sing that song? I don't know. Working not too far. Welcome to Thanksgiving. Have you heard that song? Yeah. You haven't?
Starting point is 01:03:02 Well, I have. Yeah. She hasn't heard it that way. What about Thanksgiving? You like it or not? I do. It's about, I love the food. That's her favorite holiday other than Christmas.
Starting point is 01:03:13 It is? Yeah. What's your favorite bird to eat? Bird? Yeah, what's your favorite kind of bird to eat, man? Bird. Chicken, turkey? Oh, I didn't know that was a bird.
Starting point is 01:03:30 What'd you think it was? A turkey? Yes. What do you think it was? Pull up a turkey, man. They fly-ish. Let's see if it's a bird or not. I don't think it's a bird.
Starting point is 01:03:41 Pull up a turkey. You don't think that's a bird? They can't fly. They're too fat. Yeah. That's kind of like my cat, but they're just too fat. They can't really fly. I don't think that's why they can't fly.
Starting point is 01:03:53 Some of them have glandular issues. Okay, so let's chill. What about a chicken? You didn't think a chicken, what do you think a chicken was? Have you ever eaten chicken? Yeah. You didn't know it was a bird? It's good, but I don't know what really was a bird.
Starting point is 01:04:07 You think chicken's good? Yeah, but I'm not going to eat them. You're not going to eat a chicken? Well, I want to. If it's not my chicken, then I will eat it. Because I don't care about someone else's chicken. Pax. What about this, though?
Starting point is 01:04:20 What's another bird you would eat, penguin? You can eat penguin? No. Oh. I don't think so. Yeah, I don't think you're going to eat penguin. But I'm just saying if you could. I would never eat a penguin.
Starting point is 01:04:36 Okay, what about owl? No. Have a little owl. No. Why? Name one more bird you would eat. I would never have ate in a bird before. Except chicken.
Starting point is 01:04:54 And turkey. Well, I've had turkey, but I never. What's another bird people are eating? What about sparrow? What's a sparrow? What about a bluebird? What's a bluebird? Do you eat peasants?
Starting point is 01:05:08 Now that I said that, I feel like. Peasants? Wait, don't. Those are cute. You wouldn't have a little bite of that? I would never eat one of those. There's blueberry flavored. Anna.
Starting point is 01:05:22 It's just one bite. I'm not asking you to have a lot. No, how do you? They'll figure it out they're very powerful. If you eat this wing That's not going to be able to fly It's damage I've seen a lot of damage things
Starting point is 01:05:36 That are able to freaking take off What about this bad fellow right here? Yeah, I would eat anything ugly You would? Yes, I would Because I don't care about the rest punishing it for being ugly Yes
Starting point is 01:05:48 Well Hannah, how about this then? If you had one thing to tell everybody out there That was kind of positive What do you think it would be? Positive? Yeah Everybody's gonna die one day.
Starting point is 01:06:01 That is. That's a crazy thing to say, but yeah, that's one way to look at it. Yeah. With that said, you want to have some birthday cake with me? Yeah, sure. Okay. So my favorite type of dessert is tiramisu. That's graces.
Starting point is 01:06:17 Oh, yeah. It's the best. Yeah. But how about this? I know your sister has a baking channel. Yeah. Can she come in and help us? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:06:25 Check out the desserts? Yeah. Awesome. Okay. So now we're joined here by your sister. Do you want to introduce her to us, Hannah? Okay, you're Grace? I'm Grace.
Starting point is 01:06:37 Okay, Grace. And what's it been like having Hannah as a sister and be honest with us? She's, um, interesting. She's funny. She is funny. She, um, I didn't think I was going to have a little sister, actually. Oh, so she was a surprise? She was a surprise.
Starting point is 01:06:54 What? I thought I was going to be the last kid. But I told my mom a lot. I was like, I really want a little sister. And we just had a sister. And you got Hannah. And how'd you feel when it was Hannah? Were you...
Starting point is 01:07:05 Well, when she was first born, I thought, oh, she's cute. She's a cute little baby. But as she grew up, her personality, like, just immediately snapped in. Like, when she was even a baby, she was sassy, you know. She would laugh. Was she? Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:07:19 I talked a little, when I was little. I actually talked when I was like a baby. You could talk? A little, yeah. Not a lot. Yeah. Like, maybe like that much at least. But some.
Starting point is 01:07:31 Yeah. Do you think she looks up to you sometimes or now? No. I just do my own things. Yeah. I think we're similar in a way. Yeah? I think so.
Starting point is 01:07:45 She takes some stuff from me. Oh, I do not. I think so. I take my own makeup looks. Yeah. But does she steal some of your hair styles and things like that? No. Grace.
Starting point is 01:07:58 How'd you get that red streak in your hair hand? Yeah. Because I like this. It looks great. Is that real? Kool-Aid? It's not Kool-Aid. It's like a conditioner. It's like hair dive. Oh, nice.
Starting point is 01:08:10 It was supposed to come out. But it's not. So it's going to be it forever. Now your sister has a baking channel. Do you want to tell us a little bit about it, Hannah? Oh, Grace. How are you? Um, yeah. She never, you know, actually puts her face in the videos, but... She doesn't?
Starting point is 01:08:27 I do. Oh, wow, you made this? Yeah, yeah. That's actually one of my favorite cakes. It's recent. Oh, that's a Stranger Things cake. That's pretty dope. I'm scared at the show, though. So. Yeah, I don't watch that kind of stuff usually.
Starting point is 01:08:40 No. Because I like to get to bed early. Right. And my neighbors have a loud dog. And it's hard to sleep. Hannah, what do you think I should do about that? Um, I don't know. Oh, yeah, it's an alligator.
Starting point is 01:08:55 Oh, that's one thing. Oh, so. Go to the BTS one. Oh, really? Oh, that's not a cake. Yeah, it's dumb to me. I got it. You got tickets to BTA?
Starting point is 01:09:05 are going to a BTS concert. What? The Korean rock band? Yeah. Oh, yeah. They're great. I'm real excited. I've never seen them.
Starting point is 01:09:13 Where are they performing at in Orlando? Yeah, actually, um, Alabama. I'm pretty sure. I'm pretty sure we're going to the Tampa show. It's in April. Dude, I would like to meet those guys. Have you all ever met them? No.
Starting point is 01:09:25 No. No. They probably don't know us. Yeah, they don't know us because they're Korean. They're, oh, sapa, tap, da, blah. Yeah. So, but tell me a little bit more about your baking channel. Do you do it just for,
Starting point is 01:09:35 Is it a hobby? Bring it back up. So it's like, I started it because my dad when he would go to work. He loved sweets and he loved coming home. And I remember his other mom or dad, they bought like a baking kit off of Amazon. And I was like, and I just started baking. And this is in our old house. And it just kind of started.
Starting point is 01:09:56 And then my mom made my channel. She made it when I was like 11 to just document everything. One time I made a cake. It was like a Nutella cake. Mm-hmm. And I added, like, Nutella on it. Mm-hmm. And I, that was probably the first cake I ever made.
Starting point is 01:10:15 And, um, my brother actually thought it was pretty good. Did he? Yeah. So I didn't actually know how to make frosting. Mm-hmm. But I added Nutilla at the, for the frosting. Mm-hmm. Oh, then the cake was actually chocolate vanilla.
Starting point is 01:10:30 It was, and then I also put, like, some strawberries and, like, maybe some blueberries at the top and that was really good. Okay, that sounds very good. And take us through this cake really quick, Grace. Okay. So the sand was actually grand crackers. So I was making two cakes this day. It was actually really chaotic.
Starting point is 01:10:49 So it was due the next day, but this is a SpongeBob one. Dude for who, like the cake lord or whatever? Like who the dark dessert wizard or something? Who forced you to make two cakes in one day? It was actually kind of crazy. It was for a teenager my age. two big cakes. I'm like, gosh. I don't think she actually meant
Starting point is 01:11:08 to give like two cakes. Okay. Yeah. So this one was really fun to make, though. I made the topers and stuff because not out of creativity, but out of, but I didn't have the toppers that I needed. Is this a SpongeBob cake? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:11:26 Oh, that's great. What do you love about baking or is it just kind of a hobby? I don't I don't know. It's just a fun thing to do. Like, cake kind of does bring people together. Like, it's always at a celebration, a wedding, a birthday. And to be a part of somebody's life like that is really fun. Oh, this is an Easter cake?
Starting point is 01:11:45 Yeah. That's the whole thing's a cake? Yeah. Oh, that's pretty dope. Yeah. Do you think that Hannah is a good judge of good desserts of cakes? Yeah, I do like cake. She says random things.
Starting point is 01:11:57 Like, she'll say something that doesn't match a description. Like mysterious and spicy She'll say sweet and spicy For a cake Let's be honest here That's all on one hand Is that all you want? Is that all you want? Is for Grace to be honest here?
Starting point is 01:12:15 Yes Yeah It's pretty honest Okay Hannah how would you describe that cake? It was good I did like it I actually liked the basket It actually turned out better than on the magazine
Starting point is 01:12:29 Okay Do you remember when I'm a lot? I made that? I do not actually. I don't think I was born at that time. Okay. I think, no, I was actually. Was she born?
Starting point is 01:12:40 Yeah. How long ago was it? I think it was two years ago. Okay, so. But I needed something to post, so. And how old are you now? Nine. I was six at that time.
Starting point is 01:12:50 So, yeah. Let's just look at the truth. Oh, and what's your channel called, Grace? Graceful, purposeful art. Oh, graceful, purposeful art. I'll subscribe for sure And so it's my birthday So what I wanted to do was
Starting point is 01:13:08 I want to try out three different Of my favorite dessert Which is Timuizu Yep Correct I want to try out three different ones And then we all decide
Starting point is 01:13:20 Which one is our favorite That's a good idea Yeah And I thought handy And I thought Hannah You could let us know which one is the best Okay Okay
Starting point is 01:13:29 And we could all put on shades for this if we won. Yeah, great idea. We wouldn't normally do this, but I have to step into this episode because the editing got just confusing. We try to have Hannah come in to have birthday cake and pick out some desserts from our area that she would enjoy. And if you want to see that happen, you can check that out. It's over on our Clips channel, and that is there. And we're grateful to Hannah and the Strickland family for coming in. And now that. Now, back to the end of the episode.
Starting point is 01:14:07 Well, Pan, is there anything else you want to share with us, do you think? I don't know. No, Grace. Yeah, Grace, what do you think? Anything? Yeah. What are you thinking? Overall? Yeah. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:14:20 I don't know. I don't know. We're in Nashville. We're here. It's a very different experience. It's exciting. What do you think we should have? For dinner? Yes. It's a great question.
Starting point is 01:14:31 know there's like a good steak place. That sounds good. There's a place that has good barbecue. Wow. There's a place that has some kind of new age cuisine with like fish.
Starting point is 01:14:52 And then there's like a good cheeseburger place. They have a place that has salmon. There's a place that also serves... He likes salmon. Just throw her under the aquarium. I don't like salmon. A lot of people know it's tough to imagine Yeah
Starting point is 01:15:11 Hmm It's tough to imagine Who likes salmon anymore? Who's eating salmon these days With everything it's going on You know? Yeah, I don't like salmon That's disgusting
Starting point is 01:15:22 I liked it when things were more chill Yeah like I like rice and salmon But like I don't like just salmon Oh if salmon stops by by itself bro I'm out Yeah You know Yeah
Starting point is 01:15:34 So I don't know what I would recommend There's some good restaurants, though. Yeah, I really like, what do I like? I really love mashed potatoes, omelets. Mm-hmm. It was morning for breakfast. I had an omelette, a pancake. So I got a pancake.
Starting point is 01:15:54 It's like, Mom, what was it called? It was actually an oat cake. It was an oat cake, but a pancake. Yeah. And was it good? Yes, it was really good. Oh, God, I want that. And I put like I put like a lot of fruit on the top
Starting point is 01:16:10 Then I poured some maple syrup on it and then butter Well the butter was first first first Um yeah Amen Amen um Grace you have a baking channel people can check it out Yep And Hannah
Starting point is 01:16:27 People can check you out And also can learn about cystosis And what do you say to other Do you meet other kids that have cystosis ever? Not really, honestly. You know a few. No. No.
Starting point is 01:16:43 Actually, yeah, pain. Okay. So some people. Yeah. I only know, like, one person, maybe. Yeah. And it's just not even a thing, is it? No.
Starting point is 01:16:50 It's calm. Yeah. We keep it moving. Yep. Yep. Anything else you want to say to everybody before we leave, Hannah? Um, I don't know. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:17:02 That's a fair thing. Yeah. Sometimes we don't know what we. want to say. Yeah. Do you always have something to say or sometimes you don't? Grace, how do you say something? Why don't you always suck it to me?
Starting point is 01:17:14 Yeah, Grace, what's your problem? Yeah. Yeah. What? What's your problem? Sorry. Sorry. No, I actually can't hear.
Starting point is 01:17:22 I can hear. You can't hear. Oh, my God, dude. That one can't hear anymore. She can't even see good? Y'all's family is barely making it. I mean, we don't clean. We don't cook.
Starting point is 01:17:32 We really just don't do anything, I guess. Exactly. Exactly. And that's what she's been saying this whole time. Yes. Well, happy birthday to me. And thank you. And thank you for, truly for making my birthday a nice time.
Starting point is 01:17:48 I appreciate it. Well, what are you going to give them the present? Oh, yeah. I have a freaking present. Let me get it. It's my freaking birthday. And yeah, and everybody can check out the Strickland Hope Foundation, where the goal is to help tertiary costs for family.
Starting point is 01:18:05 that have a loved one that is in medical care. Let me see this item. Here we go. Let me see what it is. Hmm. Ooh, might be a fish. Ooh. Maybe it's a rectangle shirt.
Starting point is 01:18:33 You can close? Ooh. Oh, it's a Bible. Is it? Hey. Yeah, it's got my name engraved on it, and it says Romans 828. And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God. Oh, thank you so much.
Starting point is 01:18:56 I, um, who doesn't need to brush up on their bibling? Okay, so I want to please take this plate for me? Yeah. Triven will take it. Thank you. Let me see what we got here. Oh, from Niceville. Okay, thank you.
Starting point is 01:19:11 Because it is kind of a fascinating name for a place. I was going to bring cookies, but I forgot. Well, we had all those, so that's perfect. Yeah. Yes, Niceville really does exist. This is great. That's funny, actually. But this is great having a Niceville shirt.
Starting point is 01:19:26 Because I don't even think it exists. When you said that, it made me think of... And growing up, people would always say, when I'd say, oh, I'm from Niceville. They'd say Nashville. We said, no, not Nashville. Niceville. Oh, yeah, it sounds like Nashville. Niceville.
Starting point is 01:19:39 Nashville. Nashville. Nashville. Can you speak with a Mexican accent? I don't know how, actually. I don't. Let's try it. I don't know how.
Starting point is 01:19:52 It was happening. Thank you, ladies, both. Thanks for coming and joining my birthday. Thank you for the wonderful gifts, Dawn. I appreciate it. Hannah, thank you so much when you open your restaurant, seven days of pasta. Will you, can I come in?
Starting point is 01:20:09 Yeah. You will? Can I get a discount, a coupon or something? Yeah, sure. Okay, great. I appreciate that. And when can we see it opening? Are we talking like July, August?
Starting point is 01:20:19 Well, maybe when I least turn 16. Okay. So, pretty soon? I guess. Seven years? Yeah. That sounds good. All right, we'll be waiting.
Starting point is 01:20:34 We'll be waiting outside, okay? Yeah. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Thank you so much for joining us. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:20:42 Oh, you're very welcome. We had a nice time. Thank you, ladies. Now, I'm just floating on the breeze, and I feel I'm falling like these leaves. I must be cornerstone. Oh, I'll share this piece of mind I found I can.
