Everybody, welcome to the podcast.
Please have Heather here with me today, so going to introduce yourself, please.
Hi, I'm Heather.
I'm glad to be here as well.
I am a energy healer, a channel, and a spiritual empowerment coach, and we can dive into any of those that you want to.
Up to you.
All right.
Yeah, that is true.
Yeah, so I do want to also bring up Heather.
There is also a podcast host, and I already did a recording for her podcasts where we talked about Catholicism and Mormonism and all that, which was a very interesting discussion.
I look forward to hearing it.
Yeah, I just picked the date.
It's actually going to air on March 16th.
So that's going to do all the info, yeah.
All right.
So well before this comes out, but that's okay.
I'll make no of it on my Facebook page.
So how did you get into energy, healing and spirituality?
So growing up I was an empath.
I didn't know what was happening.
So my teenage years were a little rough,
but I lived in a haunted house,
and that kind of made me start questioning things
because I was an atheist before that.
I still do ghost hunting, by the way.
I enjoy a lot.
But I went through my adult years kind of being taken advantage of because I was the nice person.
I would give everyone the benefit of the Dow, and that got old after a while, meeting people who were not on the same page.
So I turned all my emotions off, and I started becoming this person that I didn't recognize that I didn't like.
and went down this huge path of self-discovery reflection.
And I learned about Buddhism, which is what kind of got me into that whole spirituality path.
And it led me, I wanted to be a medium.
I wanted to figure out how to speak to the other side, not just feel their emotions,
their energies, but actually communicate with them.
And trying to figure that out and also figure out what more there was.
to life because I knew there was more than just what I was experiencing because that wasn't good
enough for me anymore. I went down this whole path of learning about the chakras and energy
and these different avenues of spirituality. And that's kind of what piqued my interest in
diving into it more and then figuring out what I was capable of as far as being in that
community, right? And that's how I discovered the healing process and
kind of discovered what my path and my purpose was for this lifetime.
And I'm jumping in headfirst, as they say.
All right.
Good deal.
Good deal.
So you said Buddhism, you studied up at chakras and yoga, I'm assuming.
When we talked for your podcast, we brought up Taoism as well.
and any other traditions that you studied?
I mean, when I first started questioning things,
I tried to find the answer in organized religion.
My grandmother was an ordained deacon before she passed away.
So I grew up when I was young with religion in my family,
but it didn't make sense to me.
So between Christianity, Catholicism,
all of those kind of things that are prevalent now,
I did try to find answers.
And even with Buddhism, Taoism, a bunch of the other ones,
I kind of researched a little bit about all of them,
and I took what resonated for me and left the rest.
Each of them uses their own way to describe the truth,
and they're all describing basically the same thing,
just in very different words, very different ways,
very different interpretations, which is amazing.
The part about organized religion that doesn't sit well with me
is the fact that they have made their leaders indispensable
in the fact that they say that you can't talk to God,
you have to talk to God through them, which I don't agree with.
Anybody can talk to God.
We are God.
That is part of who we are.
We can talk to them.
We can talk to a sore spirit, God, whatever you want to call it.
And so I kind of just took what resonated from each different teaching and adapted it into my own process.
My energy healing has a lot of shaman and old like Native American things that are into it.
A lot of my energy work has some Buddhist teachings.
It has not like the monks.
I mean, I'm all about detachment and, you know, finding your own path to enlightenment.
I don't expect people to go sit on top of a mountain and meditate for three hours.
It's not practical.
So I turned all of these into a more practical approach with my healing process.
Good deal.
Y'all might me ask in what, if anything, it took away from Catholicism or all that?
So the teachings of Jesus Christ and who they perceive he was.
was is important.
I have a different interpretation to who he was and what the rising of Christ means.
I think that their interpretation of who he was is important, but there's more to the story.
But also the second coming, the rising of Christ, is not him literally coming back.
It's what we're experiencing right now where we're learning about unity consciousness
and we're learning about Christ consciousness
and we're embodying the things that he was teaching.
So yes, it is coming back,
but it's coming back through us,
not from him rising from the dead,
although you could argue he's rising within each one of us,
but that's an important teaching.
Yeah.
So, yeah, that's one of those teachings I don't think should be taken literally.
I know a lot of people do take that literally.
heck, I'm about an hour from Independence, Missouri, where the Mormons, they believe that's where he'll make his second coming.
Yeah.
So, and we talked to, of course, about Mormonism on your show, so I'm still looking forward to saying that.
Did I bring up that there was a haunted house on my college campus when I was on your show?
I don't remember if you did or not, but I'm curious to hear the story.
Okay, so yeah, I went to UMKC University of Missouri, Kansas City, and there is a on that house on our campus.
It's called the Epperson House.
And when I was going there, I think they were using for engineering schools.
It's like a block south of where I would usually be at the block school, studying business.
And I haven't actually explored the place myself, but I've heard rumors.
about it.
Tell me the rumors.
Give me all the juicy details.
I think the big rumor is that it's the ghost of the original owner's mistress that haunts the place.
Hmm.
Interesting.
Yeah.
So, so yeah.
And when I was a student at UMKC, I took a class in comparative religion.
which I will absolutely never forget because A,
was a fun class, and B, we all did a group project,
so we got to experience different religious ceremonies.
My group did the Greek Orthodox Church not too far from here.
And to me, that was interesting.
A, the use of an iconostasis is the term.
That's basically a big wall with doors in its,
and on the other side of the doors,
that's where the altar actually sits,
and they walk through in and out these doors throughout the ceremony,
and it's completely sung.
They sing the entire ceremony,
which I never experienced as a Catholic and certainly not as a Mormon.
And before the actual service starts,
we have a gentleman off to the side reciting a bunch of prayers in,
I'm assuming it's in Greek, being the Greek Orthodox,
which was pretty interesting as well.
And I will always remember one group actually did Scientology,
and their group presentation was taking us all through a Scientology session.
And I'm going through a session and thinking,
this is probably the only religion I've ever actually said this about,
this is fucking stupid.
Yeah.
I don't know much about Scientology,
but I've heard people have very strong opinions about it one way or the
Yeah, so, yeah, we do have a church of Scientology here in Kansas City.
And, of course, the basics, you know, Elrond Hubbard started it.
He was a science fiction writer.
And you can tell that his science fiction writing influenced Scientology because it's in their teachings.
I mean, the whole Z-new story, which I'll save for everyone.
a couple thousand dollars in auditing and I'll then just tell you watch the South Park episode on Scientology.
So I'm curious because I love studying ancient religions and Greek mythology has always been very fascinating to me.
But that was a very like polyistic.
Polytheistic, yeah.
Yeah, culture.
What's the difference between that and the Greek Orthodox that you have?
experienced in college?
So Greek Orthodox is just a variation of a Christianity.
So that goes back to, there was a split.
I want to say in the 1000s, I forget exactly the year, but they call it the
great schism.
On one side, the Roman Catholic Church and the other side of the Eastern Orthodox Church,
and the Greek Orthodox fall under Eastern Orthodox Christianity.
So the big reason for the splits was including the, you know, I'm going to have to look that up, but I believe the term was phileoque is the term. And the Catholics embraced that. The Orthodox did not. And to say both churches claimed to be the original.
That doesn't come as a surprise.
Awesome. Okay.
Yeah.
And Grant, this is not a, this is really not a religious studies podcast, but it is a subject I like talking about from times of time.
So, yeah.
So, yeah, you mentioned chakras earlier.
Could we, could you give me a brief crash course and have a half?
that works real quick.
Sure.
So we have over 100 different chakras, but there are seven main ones in our body that we focus
on usually that go from the base of your spine up to the top of your head.
There's seven of them, and they each have their own color associated with them.
They each have their own parts of the body that they're associated with.
If you're experiencing pain somewhere or an illness somewhere, sometimes that's related
to the chakra that it's associated with,
there's also different emotions, different fears, things like that.
Each one has its own kind of function within the whole system.
So we have first is the root chakra.
That's at the base of the spine.
It's red and it deals with grounding, security, safety, kind of like your basic needs.
And then you have your sacral, which is orange.
And that's your pleasure house.
It's right under the belly button.
it's also where your creativity lives
and sometimes you can have fears that are stuck in there
same with the solar plexus
which is right below the rib cage above the belly button
that's yellow
that's where your confidence is
your motivation that's like your internal
sun power
then your heart which is in your chest
that's green that's everything about love
your throat your throat your throat
that's all about communication
and speaking your truth
and there's bridges between each of them that kind of work together.
And you have your third eye, which is in the middle of your forehead.
And that's about clarity and seeing the bigger picture, reading between the lines,
kind of seeing through lies, things like that.
And then the crown, which is at the top of your head,
that's your connection to the divine.
All right.
Really cool.
Very cool.
So are there, let's say someone's just,
exploring spirituality. Are there certain practices that you would recommend that they,
that they pursue or anything? Well,
everybody is going to resonate with something different. Like I said, for me on my path,
it's very important to use your own discernment and take what resonates with you because
not everything will. Not everybody meditates. Not everybody talks to God.
Like it's whatever fits for you.
But literally everything is energy.
So that's a good place to start, learning about energy,
learning about the energy systems of the body,
how the mind, body, spirit work together.
I have a master's degree in psychology.
So I intertwine the science and the spirituality a lot.
And you'd be surprised how much they kind of connect with each other.
Same with a lot of the sciences that are coming out with like quantum physics,
things like that.
there's a lot going on there that would be a good starting point for sure okay so a couple of
practices that i i have heard about i wonder if you know anything but but uh shinverni yokeu is
what i've heard about it's uh forest bathing i've remember with that one or i'm not but that's
very intriguing because when you learn to work with your energy, grounding is very important. So
spending time in nature is very important, whether that's with the trees, with the grass, with the
flowers, with water, whatever works best for you. So that I haven't heard that term before, but if you
want to tell me about it, I can kind of give you my feedback. Okay. Yeah. So Shinarioku,
that's a Japanese phrase. It translates as forest bathing. And my understanding, the entire concept is
just go out of nature for a while and just sit there.
And honestly, that's a really good idea because the trees are very healing,
Mother Nature, the grass, the ground, all very healing.
It keeps you grounded, especially when you're learning to work with the higher dimensions
and higher energies.
You don't want to be one of those people who get stuck, their heads stuck in the clouds,
as they say.
The grounding practices really help keep you in your body on the planet and not
kind of floating away.
So I would say that that's a really good thing to practice.
You can call it whatever you want,
but spending time in nature and whatever way works for you
is very beneficial all around.
Okay.
So that's just one example of a therapy I've heard about
in just casually searching for all this stuff.
But I'm pretty sure there's a lot,
and there's a lot that can be done spiritually
without relying on, as you said, without relying on organized religion.
And because I do happen to agree with you on that,
that we don't need the big powerful churches to do all this.
You know, you could just do it on our own,
just find what works for us and go from there.
Each of us are a unique individual, part of a whole.
We're all one. We're all part of a whole. But what makes us special is that each of us have, has our unique experiences, our unique personalities, our unique things that have made us who we are. So one size fits all religions, things like that aren't going to work for everyone. Yeah, there might be parts of it that you resonate with, but it's about finding what your own unique journey looks like. Everybody has their own unique, powerful, beautiful journey. It's all about figuring out what works for you, which is going to look completely.
different from everyone else and that's okay that it's supposed to yeah yeah we shouldn't
all uh be uh yeah following the pope just because the pope happens to run the catholic church or
um or what the uh prophet c and revelator of the lDS church uh would have us would have us believe you know
yeah that sort of thing those are examples of yeah top down uh
top-down religion
and everything.
I really should
yeah, we should
focus on
what works best for us
if we find a community of
people to
work with, you know, great, you know.
And if that community doesn't exist, you know,
that's fine too. Just
follow your bliss, I guess,
is a good way to
to try it.
Yeah.
So is there, do you have a, we'll probably go and wrap up with this.
Is there any particular tale that you like to share with us to illustrate what we're talking about with individual spirituality?
I mean, I just want to reiterate the fact that like everybody's journey is going to be messy.
We're humans.
It's going to be messy.
It's going to be a lot of trial and error.
And the important thing is to remember that each of us has a unique, beautiful journey,
but not to look at your past as full of mistakes, but everything is a learning opportunity.
I know I've made plenty of perceived mistakes myself.
I self-medicated for a long time.
I didn't think I would live to 30.
I'm quite honest.
I went through a lot of trauma, a lot of things when I was younger.
but I decided to turn all those things into a positive and to help people, especially people who are going through the same thing because I can relate to them.
And I understand what they're going through. The empathy is there.
So despite what you've been through, despite the choices that you've made in the past, it's important to forgive both the other people involved, but also yourself.
And to know that you did the best that you could with what you had at that time.
and now it's all about moving forward, however that looks for you.
And to find your happiness, find your joy, because it's out there.
You just have to take that first step, you know?
All right.
All right.
Sounds good.
How do people get in touch with you?
And yeah, it's up like the podcast as well.
Sure, yeah.
My website is divine ascensionco.com.
My podcast is called Everything You Need to Know about the Ascension of Humanity.
and that's on all of the platforms, pretty much.
I also have a YouTube channel.
If you search for Divine Ascension Co, you'll find it.
There's a bunch of channeled messages,
group meditations on there,
but my podcast is on there as well.
Awesome.
All right.
I look forward to hearing my episode of your podcast.
Yeah, yeah.
Awesome.
Me too.
All right.
