Starting point is 00:00:00 Hi, I'm Mike Chernivsky, and your listen to this podcast is Un Called For. Hello everybody, welcome to the podcast. Please have Terrence with me today. Terence, go ahead and introduce yourself, please. Hey, everybody. My name is Terrence Hayes. Otherwise known as comedian Petty Murphy. I am the host of the Petty Murphy Project
Starting point is 00:00:54 and unapologetically disruptive. And I am a comedian, been doing comedy for 15 years. and I live right here in the Kansas City area and this is my home and I ain't going nowhere. Yeah, that makes two of us. So, Terrence, if all goes well, we'll be one of the co-hosts opening out with KC. Fringe in 24. Okay. And, yeah, I'm excited about doing that as well. And I'm also excited about today's topic because it's a follow-up of a topic.
Starting point is 00:01:30 discussed on the podcast before and I've been dying to do a follow-up on it and that is the whole Cronky out thing. Yes. So just as
Starting point is 00:01:42 a reminder, I had an Arsenal fan on. We talked about our shared dislike for one, Enis Stanley Cronky. And I already come from the St. Louis perspective of it having been a Rams fan
Starting point is 00:01:57 until the second elite my team out of the show me state but today and I'll go a little into the back story while we're talking about this today we're going to talk about the Denver perspective of this because this guy at least his family also owns the Denver Nuggets in the national basketball association in the Colorado Avalanche of the national hockey league and Colorado Rapids the major league sucker at least. And the reason I asked Terrence to be a part of this,
Starting point is 00:02:36 he came to our initial meeting wearing a coach prime sweatshirts. So maybe at the end we'll talk a little color of buffaloes. Go from there. Definitely. What I've known about Stan Cronky, of course, he's a businessman. I understand that. And I understand the pain that St. Louis fans have with the Rams leaving. And I understand it's a big business.
Starting point is 00:03:08 But I also understood, stand that, you know, with that family being from the Los Angeles area. They're not from Los Angeles. And originally, the same way that the Rams fans feel in St. Louis is how they're they feel felt in LA when the Rams left. Georgia Frontier moved their team to St. Louis. Of course, Mr. Crocky was a part of that process. Oh, the irony. And pissed a lot of people off in L.A. because not only did the Rams lose, L.A. lose the Rams, they also lost the Raiders that same year. They did. They did. But we, the Raiders move, I still think, was the more questionable. The two. Yes. Because I mean, Raider fans, uh,
Starting point is 00:03:58 That's their team of choice in L.A. is the Raiders, partly because they won a Super Bowl in L.A. and the Rams Henton at the time. And about the whole Stan's original. No, Stan was born and raised in Colt Camp, Missouri, which is actually not too far from where we're saying right now. It's actually pretty close. And I haven't been this. there, but I've seen photos of it. It's apparently the intersections of Highway F and Highway U meet up in Cold Camp. And what he basically told the city of St. Louis was F.U. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:42 Along with, honey else, motherfuckers. And for the record, the dome, there's nothing wrong with the dome. No, not though. There was nothing wrong with the dome whatsoever. I understand that he wanted to have a new stadium built in St. Louis, just for the Rams. Now, the Cardiff's got a new stadium. Yeah. There was a new arena for the Blues.
Starting point is 00:05:04 Right. But the Rams could not get a new stadium. So let me clarify what happened there. Okay. So when the Rams first moved to St. Louis, there was a clause in their contracts. It had it being the top 25% of NFL stadiums in 10-year intervals. That was never going to happen because more than half the league was in new stadiums. stadiums by the time. Year 10 went out of camera brown and then year 20.
Starting point is 00:05:33 Mm-hmm. All right. So there was absolutely no way that that stadium could possibly be revved into the top 25 percent. Of course. Quality wise. Now the Rams perspective was we want an arbitration process, which would have required St. Louis to spend 700 million. entirely in taxpayer dollars to basically tear down the dome and built anew,
Starting point is 00:06:06 which was not the prudent thing to take place because that would have only kept the lease locked down for 10 more years. Okay. That's made absolutely no sense. So the standing authorities said, no, we'll just go year to year after the, after the 10 years, and we'll come up with a new stadium plan, you know, not too far from where the dump sits on the Mississippi River, and that's when Stan gave us the big FU. Exactly, and when he gave you guys that big FU, what he knew is that L.A. was starving for an NFL team. No, they weren't. It was starving for an L.A., for an NFL team.
Starting point is 00:06:58 Because, you know, you had the Dodgers, you have the Lakers, the Clippers, well, we won't talk about the Clippers. The Clippers are doing good now. They're doing good now. Their new Dome is actually pretty beautiful, but we won't talk about the Clippers. But then you had Iaheim with the Angels, you had the Kings. But yet, the Ducks. The Ducks, but yet you were still, they were starving for the NFL team. And I had a funny feeling, and I had a funny feeling with all this was going down.
Starting point is 00:07:26 Roger Goodell or what my friends like to call him Fidel Gadell That's a good one They I knew that the NFL Was going to go
Starting point is 00:07:36 Back to L.A. Reason why It's all about this Everybody When people don't understand When it comes to business It's always about the money It's always about the money
Starting point is 00:07:47 Tell vision revenue In this case it's only About the money Because I can tell you For a fact That L.A. People don't give a shit
Starting point is 00:07:56 about football unless it's the Raiders. And that was painfully proven the first time of Rams for the Rams, because that was one of the reasons. Georgia, who, by the way, was originally from St. Louis cited, you know, we're lacking in attendance. And in the old Anaheim Stadium. In the old Anaheim Stadium, yeah. Even before that they were lacking attendance at the Coliseum, yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:24 That was Raider Nation. That was Raider Nation. You have to look at the L.A. market at the time with the Raiders being in the NFL in Los Angeles. They just won a Super Bowl in 83. I mean, you're seeing everybody in their moment at the Coliseum. You know, they sold out almost every single game at the Coliseum. You know, you have people like Ice Cube. You had people in the rat culture where L.A. Raider had.
Starting point is 00:08:54 Um, Bo Jackson, Marcus Allen. Both of whom have ties locally because Bo Jackson was a two-sported athlete playing for the Royals. And Marcus Allen ended his career with the Chiefs. With the Kansas City Chiefs. And went into the Hall of Fame as the Kansas City Chief, by the way, everybody. And you have to think about the Coliseum. You can think about the rich history of the L.A. Coliseum and the football in the L.A. with the Raiders. Now, we know why Al Davis wanted to leave L.A. and the moving team back to Oakland.
Starting point is 00:09:31 He's always had a battle with the NFL all the way from Pete Roselle to tagli-boo. With the Rams leaving L.A., understandably, why, the attendance was low. Nobody was going to Anaheim to go see the Rams. The Rams, prior to the moving to St. Louis, hadn't had a win in season since 1989. They had lost in the playoff game That was the last time As the L.A. Rams prior to Jared Goff
Starting point is 00:10:01 And then moving back to L.A Prior to the Rams moving back to L.A They hadn't made the playoffs in L.A. L.A. had you see the playoff game Since For the Rams They haven't seen one since 1989
Starting point is 00:10:15 So I understood where they're coming from with that too They weren't winning Yeah. One of the biggest mistakes that the Rams did make was trading Eric Dickerson to the Colts. You traded your franchise away. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:33 You thought that Jim Everett was going to get you there? No. No. You're C.F. Yeah. I mean, Jackie Slater, the great Jackie Slater. The great Jake's. It was on his way out. Jack Youngblood had already left.
Starting point is 00:10:50 And I give Jack Youngblood. disrespect because the man played in the NFC championship game and the Super Bowl with a broken leg. Yeah. Yeah. So, on that part, moving out, moving from LA to St. Louis, it brought a brand new market and a new feel for the NFL because remember, St. Louis lost the Cardinals. Yeah. The Cardinals moved to Arizona. The Bidwells moved to St. Louis, the car from St. Louis to Arizona. That's more Bill Bidwell than. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:20 And that was a little Michael Bidwell. That was a shit show itself. So, you know, St. Louis was a clamoring for the NFL team after losing, you know, seeing great players like Neil Lomax and Otis Anderson, you know, Roy Clark and all those guys. Dan Deirdorf. Dan Deirdorf, they were claiming for it. Because everybody knows that St. Louis is because of Cardinals Town. It's baseball.
Starting point is 00:11:43 It's always been baseball. But to give them the football team was great. Now, their first few years being in L.A., I mean, St. Louis? Yeah, not great. They were horrible. Not great. And what happened? Dick Vermil comes in.
Starting point is 00:11:57 Trent Green gets injured. Thank you, Rodney Harrison. Yeah. If you're in St. Louis, you should thank Rodney Harrison because if it wasn't for him injuring Trent Green. We never heard of Kurt Warner. We never heard of Kurt Warner. And they had the greatest, the greatest story.
Starting point is 00:12:12 Storybook ended you can ask for. It was a very great Super Bowl between them and the Titans. Now, that was a very great game. Kurt Warner, Isaac Bruce, Tori Holt, Marshall Falk, Orlando Pace. Orlando Pace, Ricky Prawl. Hase Akeen, Haas Akeen, you know, Mike Martz. And then, you know, you go where after Warner leaves is Mark Bulger. Yeah, you know.
Starting point is 00:12:40 Mark Bulger, out of my dad's high school. West Virginia. That was the college. The college you went to. The high school I went to was Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Okay. Same high school
Starting point is 00:12:51 that Damarino went to, San high school that Frank Bull went to, two-year-old of my dad, actually. The guy that came up with the $1.50 hot dog combo for Costco, also a Central Catholic guy. So you can thank Central Catholic for the phone and phrase.
Starting point is 00:13:08 If you ever raise the price of that hot dog combo, I will fucking kill you. Right. And you're the thing. You know, I think they should have kept that team in St. Louis.
Starting point is 00:13:21 Oh, yeah, absolutely. She kept the team in St. Louis. You know, probably brought the Raiders back, because when they were talking about they were going to bring the NFL back to L.A. You would have thought it would be the Raiders? Or the Chargers?
Starting point is 00:13:33 Yeah. Because the Chargers were having the same problem. Exactly. They would have the same problem with Jack Murphy Stadium or Qualcomm Stadium. I still call it Jack Murphy. It's still Jack Murphy. I'm going to call him Jack Murphy.
Starting point is 00:13:45 I'm going to call it Jack Murphy. You would think it would be the Chargers? because L.A. is only an hour away. I've been there. I've been to San Diego. I've been to L.A. traffic. It's horrible. You would thought it would be the Chargers. You would thought that the Davis family would move the Raiders to L.A. is because the problems that they were having in Oakland.
Starting point is 00:14:05 Exactly. This is a California thing that we're talking about. They don't put public money in stadiums. Whereas St. Louis, they were willing to build a new stadium for the Rams. Right. It was cronky. Yeah. And we're also going, you talked about how they had a bunch of losing before leaving for St. Louis. They had a bunch of losing in L.A. On the way out of St. Louis, too.
Starting point is 00:14:29 12 straight years losing in St. Louis. Exactly. Bad drag picks. Yeah. Alex Barron, are you kidding me? Sam Bradford? Bradford, when healthy. When healthy was okay.
Starting point is 00:14:44 It was pretty decent. It was pretty decent. But, no, they know. never gave him a line, they never gave them receivers or anything. And the only bright spot of those teams was Stephen Jackson and the defense. And the defense was okay because you did bring in Aaron Donald. You brought in there? We had Chris Long, we had Jim Larnitis.
Starting point is 00:15:05 You had Aaron Donald. And yet, something was not clicking. But when it comes to the Kronky family, He did y'all wrong. Yep. Now, because you had a market, you had Kansas City, you had St. Louis, you had two teams in Missouri, the Governor's Cup. We don't get to see the Governor's Cup any game anymore. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:15:31 And now, talking to people that live in St. Louis, the only way they're going to enjoy football, they've got to watch the Chiefs. Battlehawks. Now, with the U.S.L. Thank you, Vince McMahon, for bringing back the NFL. But thank you to Dwayne the Rock Johnson for buying it from Vince McMahon. And further, thank you to Dwayne the Rock Johnson for talking with Fox and the USFL. Get the UFL to become a thing. And now St. Louis won't be missing football.
Starting point is 00:16:05 And I'm excited for the Bellahawks. You know, I'm glad A.J. McCarran said, no, fuck the Bengals. I'm going to go back to go play for St. Louis. So you get A.J. McCarran back. and you guys have a lot of great, you guys have a lot of great, you know, prosperous days coming in St. Louis. You just got basically build on that. They're talking Greatest John Turf 2.0. Yes, definitely.
Starting point is 00:16:29 But now when it comes to the Kronky family in Denver. Ooh, yeah. He did some things in Denver. You know, when he had gone on it, and his son, Josh, went to the University of Missouri. So play basketball there I'm a KU fan Fuck Nizu So
Starting point is 00:16:49 Mugfizu Mug Vizu But The avalanche Now the Kralara avalanche Came in I think it was as an expansion team In the show
Starting point is 00:17:02 No they moved They were the origin of Quebec Nordiques The Nordiques And why Quebec doesn't have a hockey team They moved Montreal and Quebec soon Yes
Starting point is 00:17:13 Yeah but They haven't won anything. Yeah, Quebec City. Yeah, they haven't won anything. Of course, they do win a Stanley Cup. They just recently won a Stanley Cup with Patrick Gua as their coach. Recently, they just won a Stanley Cup not too long ago, and they're actually doing well. But look at the Denver Nuggets.
Starting point is 00:17:30 The Denver Nuggets. Now, yes, they did win their- Just won, but still. Yeah, they just won their first ever NBA championship. But look how it came around. Look how this came about. The Denver Nuggets, you know. Yes, you got Nicola Yolkich.
Starting point is 00:17:49 Yes, you got Jamal Murray. Yes, you have Michael Porter Jr. who went to Missou. You got Christian Braun who went to KU. You know, you've got a great nucleus there. And yes, the ball arena, what used to be the Pepsi Arena. But this is where the Kronki family loses me at. Carmel and Anthony, you know, has his podcast. I was a huge Carmillo fan.
Starting point is 00:18:12 I'm a huge. I mean, yeah. Outside of the two- Since you did mention KU, I was hoping for Syracuse to win that because fuck Kirk Heinrich. Okay, you could say that too, but we loved Kirk Hyattrick.
Starting point is 00:18:26 I was outside of the 2003 National Championship, which was a good game. KU did blow that lead that they would make either their free throws, they were one by two. I actually watched the game, and it was heartbroken because I was on my way back to Lawrence to go ahead, celebrate. Which is a point of how is a young C student?
Starting point is 00:18:43 time and it was sure that we would finally be KU in the regular season with Michael Watson and all that's, but uh, no, it didn't happen. Nope. So with Carmel Anthony, he asked us out podcast now. They just recently
Starting point is 00:18:58 interviewed him, they talked about George Carl. Now, George Carl was hired by the Cranky family to coach that Denver Nuggets team. Yes, he was. And he basically made Carmela Anthony
Starting point is 00:19:12 he looked like the escape go, so he wasn't great. He threw players underneath the bus. George Carl had problems with players like Kenyon Martin. He had problems with Chauncey Billups. And his big problem was with Carmel Lantin did, which was your franchise. Now, they couldn't get over the hump, and one of the things that made me mad about the Kronki family. You trade Chauncey Billups to Detroit. No, you trade Chonty Billups from Detroit, bring them from Detroit.
Starting point is 00:19:42 for the Alan Iverson deal which Iverson was on his way out a league it was sad how his career ended but you didn't build around Carmel and Anthony the same way Carmills like the Bradford of basketball right it's like the same way Miami did with Dwayne Wade you know
Starting point is 00:20:04 Dwayne Wade won his first championship in his third year with Shaq with Shaq and Shaq was on his way out they didn't basically um how probably put this they didn't put carmello on it because carmelo should have won the rookie of the year in 2003 but they gave that to lebron they didn't do what they did for
Starting point is 00:20:25 mellow and mellow forced his way to back home to new york which basically with that trade it was so lopsided with that trade that with that trade it basically hurt the nuggets It hurt the Nuggets until they were able to go into the second round and go get a Nicola Yolkidge. They were able to get a Jamal Murray and build that team. So when it came down to it, over those dark years after Carmelo and Anthony, the Kronky family failed. They failed the fans of Denver. Now when it comes to the Rapids, I don't really follow soccer unless it's the World Cup and it's the USA.
Starting point is 00:21:02 I can't really speak much to the rapids, which I can certainly, from my past experience with this podcast, talking about Arsenal Football Club, which he also owns. And I can tell you, Arsenal fans hate him just as much as to St. Louis people. Hate him. It's not even close. And he has a face you can hate. Look at the mustache. like a baron. He has a face you can hate.
Starting point is 00:21:36 And what he should have did, if you're going to have teams in Colorado, I would never, I would have left the Rams alone. Keep him with the Frontier family. Go by the different Broncos. Well, there isn't yet another issue because Georgia died and left,
Starting point is 00:21:56 controlled the team with Chip and Lucia, or two children. And Chip didn't want to run that. So they were close to selling the shot con. The same shot con who now owes the Jacksonville Jaguards. And now owes an all-elite wrestling. Thank you, Tony Khan. And full MFC.
Starting point is 00:22:17 Mm-hmm. But Cronky had a riot for refusal, and that's how it came to be. So basically, Stan Cronkey is a dickhead. Yeah. He's a dictator. He's a dickhead. And, yes, he's won. He's got championships.
Starting point is 00:22:36 Yes, he's got his Super Bowl in L.A., which, you know, he got... Which no one attended. No one attended. Nobody attended at the parade. And I've had at least one actor on who's been in L.A. And he's told me, they don't give a shit about football in Los Angeles. I mean, you got, you had the Super Bowl. But, you know, the highlight of the Super Bowl, wasn't the Rams winning the Super Bowl.
Starting point is 00:23:01 It was Dr. Drey. Snoop Dogg and 50 Sin and M&M and Mary J. Blige. That was the highlight. And my conspiracy theory about that Super Bowl to this day and will probably be that way until the time of time. It was rigged for that specific result because it came right after St. Louis and the FLs settled. Yes. And I mean, the Super Bowl before that with Tom Brady and Tampa Bay. That was rig.
Starting point is 00:23:27 I don't care when nobody says, Mahomes should have four rings right now. That was rigged. That's another story. But, yeah, I think there was some theories to that. There's some truth to that as well. But, you know, they basically built SoFi Stadium, and basically the Chargers got annually raped. Basically, it's like you could pay and basically play into the stadium.
Starting point is 00:23:48 Basically, the Chargers... For a dollar a year. That's the Chargers' rents. A dollar a year. The Chargers are to the Rams are what the Clippers are to the Lakers. The Red-headed stepchild. This is why the Clippers, Steve Ballmer, went ahead and said, we're going to build our own stadium. And it's right by the, matter of fact, it's right near SoFi Stadium.
Starting point is 00:24:13 It's the Intuit Dome. So the Chargers, Stan Cronkey, screwed you over. If that was the case, you should have basically stayed in San Diego. Which, of course, I was established earlier. It was never going to happen. Never going to happen. And I don't care, I know people are pissed off with Dean Spanos about that, but Spanos, I've said this before, I will say it again. He at least tried to live up to his end of the deal as far as the relocation policy was concerned.
Starting point is 00:24:48 And that was what the entire St. Louis versus NFL lawsuit was about was those relocation guidelines. Definitely. Which, by the way, those guidelines, thanks to that lawsuit, now constitute a valid contract, at least in the state of Missouri. Yes, and I just want to say this, if the charges are going to overtake, bring football back to the L.A., get people excited? Jim Harbaugh has to win. Yep, yep. He has to win. I think he will.
Starting point is 00:25:25 I think he will. he's one in San Francisco is one in Michigan so there's no reason he has to win he has to win to basically stick to stand cronkey yeah and I want the Chargers to win but but but but see
Starting point is 00:25:39 as long as there's Patrick LeVon Mahomes he doesn't any winning anything I mean you might have to move to the NSC that was one that's one thing I saw with this old LA Tobacco
Starting point is 00:25:54 the charge The Chargers and Raiders could wind up moving to LA. Basically, the stadium that they went to building invas would have been built in LA for the Chargers and Raiders. And one of the two, likely the Chargers, would have switched to the NFC. And we probably would end up getting one of those teams from the NFC. Most likely we probably wouldn't gotten Arizona to come to the ASC West. But we didn't need, we didn't want Arizona.
Starting point is 00:26:21 We wanted Seattle. Yeah, Seattle would have been a possibility. been a possibility, heck even St. Louis would have been a possibility. I would have been more fine with switching to the AFC than losing my team to find in LA. And of course the idiots saying, well, the Chargers have no business to be in LA. You know, the Chargers were born in L.A. They were. Yeah. 1960 John Handel. And the same idiots who say, well, the Rams just came home from them. Home would be Cleveland for them. All right. Are you? Yes, pre-World War II, but still, they were born in Cleveland, know how.
Starting point is 00:27:00 Mm-hmm. Yeah. And the thing is, what we want to tell everybody when it comes to no ownership, especially in sports, it's always politics plays into it. And, of course, we know who supported the move from St. Louis to L.A. Jerry Jones. Oh, yeah. Why?
Starting point is 00:27:19 Because Cherry's a greedy bastard, okay? Jones. Cherry's a greedy bastard, okay? and this is why the Cowboys won't win anything. Now, have you been down to Arlington? Not recently. Okay. Now, I've been to Arlington.
Starting point is 00:27:33 I've seen AT&T Stadium. I call it the world's largest toilet bowl. My father said the same thing about Texas Stadium. I mean, it has a hole just like a toilet. My mother, God rest of her soul, was a cowboy fan. The only good thing about Dallas was the TV show and J.R. Ewing. J.R. Who shot J.R.? But my mother, who was a big cowboy fan, always said Texas State had the hole in the roof
Starting point is 00:28:02 so guys could look on the American team? On a guy's team? Ladies and gentlemen, America's team resides here in Kansas City. Okay? We'll get to that. But Jerry Jones, I've been there three times, and I always had to go into Arlington. I've seen, like I said, I've seen the world's largest toilet bowl. Jerry Jones owns all that little strip with a stadium
Starting point is 00:28:28 there's the hotels the Walmart the gas stations he owns all of that yeah they have the Dallas Cowboy Pro Shops everywhere in the Dallas
Starting point is 00:28:39 Metroplex everywhere and yet you can't win a Super Bowl you haven't won a Super Bowl since OJ got away with it Michael Jordan came back, Cowboys won this football, but Jerry Jones is always saying yes to
Starting point is 00:28:59 controversial moves, and Jerry Jones screwed St. Louis as much as Stan Crocky. Yes, they're friends. All these NFL owners, these billionaires, are all friends. But when it comes down the common sense, because I'm pretty sure Clark Hunt wanted to keep the Rams in St. Louis. Okay, so now we bring Clark Hunt to discussion, and I bring up the L.A. committee. Mm-hmm. All right.
Starting point is 00:29:29 Clark Hunt was on that L.A. committee, and Clarkon was the only member of that L.A. community to vote against the Chargers and Raiders come into L.A. Mm-hmm. So the other five owners were Jerry Richardson with the Panthers.
Starting point is 00:29:46 Asshole. Well, he was pushed out. and pass away, yeah. John Myra with the New York Football Giants. Whichever Rooney now runs the Pittsburgh Steelers? Yeah, because I know it was Art Rooney. Yeah. Art Rooney does the second.
Starting point is 00:30:08 The late by McNair with Houston. Texans, yep. And Bob Kraft, New England. God damn, I hate Brock. Robert Kraft. God, I hate him. He has a face, you have to. You just want to punch.
Starting point is 00:30:23 A lot of these owners, too. Let's be honest. Yeah, they do. Yeah. So those five said Raiders and Chargers to L.A. Hunt was the only one that said, no, his rationale, I don't, I still don't know if I buy it to this day. His rationale was only one team should move to L.A. Well, in all the scenarios they were talking about, the only team involved in one team to L.A. thing.
Starting point is 00:30:48 would have been the Rams. So basically he was an anti-St. Louis vote as far as I'm concerned. But yeah, but you know, with that, I mean, there's a lot of no things that people, when the Rams and she moved here in Missouri, that we're going to miss. We're going to miss the Governor's Cup. Yes. You know, we're going to miss going to St. Louis, having St. Louis come into town, the preseason or going to St. Louis for the preseason things too.
Starting point is 00:31:18 We, like, no, the Royals and Cardo's got the I-70 series. Yeah. Which, you know, some people. There are still people in St. Louis that you bring up Kansas City, they'll bring up. Eighth. Five. Game six of 85. Eighty-five.
Starting point is 00:31:33 Yes, it wasn't out. Mm-hmm. But that back then we had history replay, we just had blind ass for amps. And the folks that are saying that Gallaraga kid of a Detroit, who almost had a perk game, same play. Exactly same play. Yes. Ruin his perfect game. So if you give that kid a perfect game, you have to retroactively give the Cardinals.
Starting point is 00:31:56 But unfortunately, they don't give out World Series championships for fuck-ups, because if that was the case, the Astros shouldn't win their World Series. Astros. A-S-S-S-slash-Tros. But when it comes down to that right there, you know, for Denver fans out there, you know, you're happy because you're nugget. are winning. Why? Because your Broncos are trash. And you shouldn't ever gave Russell Wilson all that money and now you're $85 million in the hole.
Starting point is 00:32:27 Yeah, guess who owns the Broncos now? Walmart. The Walton family. And guess which family stand is married into? Walmart. So therefore, Denver, you're screwed when it comes to football twice. Yeah. But when it boils down to it, I do sympathize with St. Louis fans. please go out and support the Battlehawks sell out them things like when Kurt Warner
Starting point is 00:32:52 was Isaac Bruce Falk the greatest show on turf when they were playing you guys sold out every single game as a matter of fact that NSC championship game you guys won god rest the soul of Derek Thomas because I know he was on his way to that game yeah Tampa Bay had y'all it was a six to five game Ricky proe catching that ball You know, so you guys know, you guys know, yelled loud. Now, I still think you guys should have two Super Bowls in St. Louis. Yeah. Because, yeah, we know.
Starting point is 00:33:27 There's still Rams players from that, oh, one team that, say, to this day that the Patriots cheated. They did. And it was all proven. I mean, because you played, if everyone was, remember, the Rams and Patriots played earlier that season, and the Rams beat the shit out of them in New England. for some way somehow I know I don't know it would be something special
Starting point is 00:33:49 but Tom Brady admitted he fumbled in front of Charles Woodson and they were teammates in Michigan and he admitted Charles Wilson that was a fumble this is why instant replay
Starting point is 00:34:05 should have been instituted further the next season and should have instant replay then it's because you can see that play there and if it wasn't for the Tuck Rule Tom Brady wouldn't be the goat Right
Starting point is 00:34:16 He's the goat to cheating But so he has seven rings Four of those are legit The first three No First three would not And the other four were pretty much gifted Especially
Starting point is 00:34:31 The fourth one Oh yeah, and the fifth one Damn you, Kyle Shamedan Damn you, Kyle Shadhan here Damn No, damn you, Kyle Shadhanhan Why didn't you blow that 25? point lead and cost millions of people money me one of them but um st louis you guys are a proud
Starting point is 00:34:52 sports town you've always been a proud sports now now you should have kept your uh hawks in basketball should have kept your basketball team understandably i know it's the 50s and 60s understandable but you guys are a great sports town when it comes to the blues you know winning the Stanley Cup in 2019 oh yeah Oh, yeah. You know, going to two Super Bowls, Cardinals, you know, McGuire, you know, you've got to go back to your history with the St. Louis Cardinals, with Musial, Lou Brock, Willie McGee.
Starting point is 00:35:28 Second-most World Series victories after just the Yankees. Yes. So you guys have a very proud sports history, and it feels a little tainted because you lost the Rams, which you should, because Dan Cronkey's a dickhead, okay? but you guys have the St. Louis Battlehawks and you guys
Starting point is 00:35:49 got to go out there and support them is because you love your football you've always loved your football since the Cardinals you know you love you know with Neil Lomax and Otis Anderson
Starting point is 00:35:59 Deirdorf you love that you love playing football at Bush Stadium you know I could go back to YouTube and watch old clips you guys playing on CBS
Starting point is 00:36:11 back in the day and, you know, seeing you guys basically ready for that team. Now, you guys should never fire Gene Stalans. That's what you messed up. He should never fire Gene Stalans, and then he went on the Arizona, and won the national championship.
Starting point is 00:36:27 But that was the Bitwell's fault. Yeah. But you guys, when the Rams came to town, you did support. I give y'all that. You guys went out there and you supported. Better than L.A. ever has. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:36:41 Now, the reason why the Rams were back in L.A. is because it's a big-ass beautiful stadium. And, yeah, they won a Super Bowl there. But that was your guy's the Super Bowl. You guys should have had Matthew Stafford, Aaron Donald, you know, Todd Gurley. You guys should have had the Cooper Cup, Odell Beckham Jr. You guys, that was your guys to Super Bowl when they Rams won the league, Cincinnati. So, you've got the UFL coming up. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:15 And I hope you guys win it. I hope so, too. It's going to be tough, but I hope we do, but we, but along the way we are going to keep, I'm already hearing estimates of 40 to 50,000 at the dome for those games. Definitely, definitely. This is a team that's already set spring attendance records, $38,000. is the record so they're just going to build on that and build on that and let's and let's hope your cardinals get back to winning the winning ways I mean watching the Cardinals over my lifetime I've seen the great players that you guys are
Starting point is 00:37:55 you have with outside McGuire pool holes Yachty Wainwright who holes freeze school here yeah David freeze everybody remembered David freeze saving you guys against the Texas Rangers Matt Holliday when he Matt Holliday when he actually touched a home plate Not to the only
Starting point is 00:38:19 Denver team that's But think about the great Ozzy Smith Yes Ozzy White Herzog Also comes in mind Also a guy with Casey ties
Starting point is 00:38:35 Tony Laruso Mike McBeeney Another guy who's with KC. ties with Latini. Yes, so your sports history is rich, and it's not just with no, with the sports too. Pro wrestling with Sam Messing, you know you guys were a big supporter of sports wrestling. I mean, poor wrestling. Of course, the Orden family, Bob Orden, Sr., Bob Jr., Randy Orton. You guys have great history.
Starting point is 00:39:06 And Stan Cranky shitted on it. by saying, oh, yeah. It was just baseball time. It was just a baseball town. We're going to move to L.A. And the reason why he moved to L.A. is simple. The fat is pocket. Get a Super Bowl there, build a stadium, and make more money.
Starting point is 00:39:24 And a special fuck-you-to-one, Kevin Demoff, who, uh, from why I heard from you just now and from our friend in Amsterdam, Sam, the Arsenal fan. Karin, this guy says, like Josh Kronky does a lot of the stuff for the other teams that Kevin Dunmuff does for San Luis. Kevin Dunmoff, professional liar. So, yeah, I encourage anyone who happens to be listening to this podcast, order up some Emo's pizza, send that to Kevin Demoff.
Starting point is 00:40:03 care of the L.A. Rams and have him pay for it because that's another thing I remember from this whole tobacco and said from the Adios motherfucker letter and all the lies he told on St. Louis media there is no secret plan. I just didn't remember about him shitting on St. Louis cuisine. Can't do that. Yeah. Because Emos is a stable And Emos is awesome Yeah I love me some ProVal, man
Starting point is 00:40:37 And we There's any Emos Just down the street from where we're saying Mm-hmm Right here in Can't See Yeah So you know You can buy profile at a supermarket
Starting point is 00:40:49 Yeah, you can But you know St. Louis You know I know you guys We were hurt And you guys were rightfully pissed You guys were rightfully Pissed Now Clark Hunt would do that
Starting point is 00:41:01 to move the cheese out of Kansas City and out of the Kansas City area oh we will burn this other bitch down because his dad moved them from the Texans yeah move the Texas up to the Kansas City and this is this is stable now do I think they should have a some renovations at Arrowhead yeah but do we had to pay for it no well well it's gonna be well they're playing on the extended sales tax so yeah If you buy anything in Jackson County, you're paying for it. Right. Just move the...
Starting point is 00:41:34 Same with the Royals in there in downtown. Now, they say no. Do people say no? Hey, we'll take them. I'm here in Johnson County, because Johnson County taxpayers pay more and buy more season tickets to Johnson County. We'll take them.
Starting point is 00:41:52 We'll put them over to the legends and built them a new state. That's in Wyandah County, though. Yeah. Or, you know, we're building in Johnson County, whatever, you know? I'm pretty sure there's a lot of land out here on developed land. We'll bring them here. We don't care.
Starting point is 00:42:10 They'll still be the Kansas City Chiefs. They'll just be in Kansas. Right. Legitimately in Kansas. Yes. And there'll still be the Kansas. They used to be literally in Kansas. But I think Stan Cronkey did St. Louis injustice.
Starting point is 00:42:23 The city was willing to put the money up. They just wanted him to basically back him on that. He said no. Why? In the words of Gordon Gecko, if you've seen the movie Wall Street, greed is good. According to NFL owners. That's the part, that's the shitty part about business. Greed is good. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:49 Learned that in my junior high school, learning about the Great Depression with stock in demand. Greed is good. Why prohibition was created. Yep. People won their alcohol. They want to get taxed. They want their alcohol. Greed is good.
Starting point is 00:43:09 When it comes down to it, St. Louis, go out there and support those battlehawks. Go out there and support your Cardinals. Go out there and support the Blues. Go out there and support your soccer, your MLCD, FSS. Go ahead and support them. Support all your teams. Yep. But also when you're supporting your teams, when you're showing that support,
Starting point is 00:43:30 especially if you're a battlehawks fan that you guys fill that dome up you are basically saying fuck stan kronky yep that's and josh kronky yeah and i'm saying that is because he went to missouri yeah and i'm a k u fan so that's what i'm saying on that all right so uh let's take a break from bashing stan for a second and talks and um let's keep in colorana talk Buffalo's football Yes Yes Coach Brian
Starting point is 00:44:03 Yes I'm glad The back 12 basically Just said You know what We suck We're done We're just gonna move
Starting point is 00:44:12 I'm glad The Colorado has come back To the Big 12 It's because you're bringing back History Now if Nebraska comes back Great They need to
Starting point is 00:44:22 They need to Because Texas and Oklahoma Basically have screwed themselves Texas, Oklahoma, left the Big 12 for the SEC for the money, just like Missouri did. It went for the money. I'm glad Colorado's back. And Bride, Utah, Arizona, Arizona, State with them. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:44:43 So now the Big 12 is getting bigger, not just on basketball, but football reasons. And why? Because of one man, Prime Time. Dionne Sanders. Now, they went 4 and 8. They went four and eight. It went four and eight. They won the first three.
Starting point is 00:45:02 Travis Hunter got hurt. Jewish credit, he reached out to the kid that hurt. He got hurt, and then I went four and eight. Shredora Sanders is a stud. He just didn't have an oxygen line. He didn't have Travis Hunter for a few games. They couldn't run the ball. The defense kept giving up points.
Starting point is 00:45:26 And when you're playing, against the static teams, like USC, like Utah. You know, you're playing against Oregon, Washington. Oregon State, yeah, you're going to get beaten. Because you're one prepared. Now with him coming to the Big 12th, I'm happy. Because now, Colorado, what he wants to do in Colorado, he's going to be able to do it.
Starting point is 00:45:54 Because who are the dominant teams in the 5th? Big 12 now that Texas and Oklahoma's left? None. Yeah, I was thinking that. None. Certainly like, well, KU last year. KU last year, K-State, but none. So it's wide open.
Starting point is 00:46:14 Know the college football playoff. Being expected as well teams. It's exciting. I like what Prime is doing. He basically said, I'm going to do this my way. You know he brought Colorado in a lot of money. He did. He did, absolutely.
Starting point is 00:46:32 Now, you're going to think back about Colorado football. Colorado football has a very rich history. Dary Hagan. Eric B. Enemy. The great Eric B. Enemy, who is now the assistant head coach at UCLA. Still thinking he should have came back to the NFL with the Chiefs. Should have been Andy Reed's pre-s successor. That's another story.
Starting point is 00:46:55 Because he can't get a job in the NFL. and it is a damn witch hunt. That man, the man basically helped Alex Smith basically built Patrick Mahomes. He basically built Tyreek Hill. He basically built Travis Kelsey. That's good.
Starting point is 00:47:16 And he helped the girlfriend. And he helped the check-out. So, the man does what he's doing. But Colorado has a great history in football. Bill McCartney, great Bill McCartney, great history. And then, you know, you go into the early 2000s, late 90s, Cordell Stewart. Yes.
Starting point is 00:47:39 Michael Westbrook, the late Rashad Salon, Heisman Trophy winning. Alfred Williams actually played for Colorado. Chad Brown. These guys won Super Bowls. So you look at their real history of Colorado football. Then, you know, of course, they beat the brass world. in 2001, led by Joe Klat.
Starting point is 00:47:59 But, no, they had some down years. They have some down years. Like, every program has down years. But not like Colorado. Colorado has some very, very dark times after moving from the Big 12 to the Pact 12. And now that they're back. Now, a lot of people say, oh, Dion's overhyde and everything else, too.
Starting point is 00:48:20 Here's the thing about Deion. Deion came into the league. I told y'all was going to be prime time. Dion was playing baseball. Yeah, yeah. And the only man to play in an NFL game and a major league baseball game the same night. Yep.
Starting point is 00:48:38 The only man to win a Super Bowl and play in the World Series. Yep. And now this man who went down to Jackson State, went down to Jackson State at HBCU School, Historic Black College, University,
Starting point is 00:48:56 and turned that program around but not only did he turn that program around he put open up America's eyes to HBCUs not just for media but for young men as well and he changed it and one thing that he said
Starting point is 00:49:12 was it was no shame of him leaving leaving because you want we all seen the 60 minutes interview he left Colorado and the thing that I respect for what he's said is why he'll never coach the pros he said I want to teach these young men how to become
Starting point is 00:49:32 men I don't want to babysit a 30 million dollar player exactly and what he's going to do in Colorado is going to enhance the big 12 even more football wise I'm glad we're going to see KU versus Colorado which by the way it would be at Arrowhead Stadium yeah I heard I did hear yeah we're going to get attention that KU's going to Split time between Harrodhead and Sporning Park. Yes. Because I guess they're... They're renovating, they're a renovating Memorial Stadium in Lawrence.
Starting point is 00:50:06 But that's going to be, that's going to be even more exciting. That Coach Prime is, we're basically going to know KU and K State fans. We're going to see Dion. And then for the younger generation, you got to, in order to understand Coach Prime, you got to know Dion. You got to know Dionne Sanders. You got to understand prime time. The man built the Georgia Dome for the Falcons. Ask Andre Reisley when he went up beside his head in 1994.
Starting point is 00:50:38 The man turned around and made a one-hit wonder, and it's still trending. Must be the money. Must be the money. And he told his truth. Everything that Prime speaks is true. And of course the media was bashing him last year whatsoever. but you know what he did he stood on business and he spoke his truth I think Colorado coming to the big 12 is awesome now if he wasn't there they were coming to
Starting point is 00:51:09 the big 12 there'd just be another damn story maybe it's be another football team but him coming back him being at Colorado has put the big 12 up there with the SEC with the Big Ten ACC, not selling lunch. Right. Because, I mean College. C's a basketball conference. It's a basketball, it's always been, it's a basketball conference. It's always
Starting point is 00:51:34 going to be a basketball conference. Miami should never left the Big East. The Big East was going to break up. They were doing, good a good deal, but Miami should never left. They're having them down. Miami should never left. But, you've got the SEC,
Starting point is 00:51:49 the Big Ten, right? And the Big 12. those are your top three conferences in college football and yeah ACC is probably four and rest in peace pack 12
Starting point is 00:52:05 because they only have two teams Argonne state Washington state and they're basically you might as well become Notre Dame and be the independence yeah or follow suit
Starting point is 00:52:16 now Notre Dame ever decided to give up its independence and join the ACC full time I mean, there's more money for you. I mean, of course, you don't want to give up the NBC contract. I understand. You love the peacock. And full disclosure, I grew up a Notre Dame fan, too.
Starting point is 00:52:34 I grew up watching Notre Dame football, too. Yeah. I just did not like convicts versus Catholics. I'm a Miami Hurricane fan. I like the Miami Hurricanes. I grew up watching a you. And fell in love with him. 1986 Fiesta Bowl.
Starting point is 00:52:49 Coming off the plane and camouflage. That team has swag. That's why I love Jimmy Johnson. I always say Jimmy Johnson is one of my favorite football coaches all the time because he coached that Miami team. And then you has swagger. And yes, they should have another national championship that was not passing their spirits on Chris Gamble.
Starting point is 00:53:08 That was not. But to answer your question about Colorado, Colorado football, you're on your way back. You actually could contend for the national championship coming out of the Big 12th. You've got competition. Baylor is a sleeper pick. There's Texas Tech.
Starting point is 00:53:31 There's Houston. There's UCF. Then you have BYU. Then you have KUK State. And Iowa State. Can we forget about Iowa State? And Oklahoma State. Can I forget about them?
Starting point is 00:53:51 And TCU. So you guys have, so Colorado has a chance. So if I were fans of the Colorado Buffalo fans, if I always peep somebody in Boulder, and I was a CU fan, be very, very, be very excited. Because you guys have a chance to not only be, you can, no, win the Big 12. You probably will be the favorites to win the Big 12 based off your roster. Right. Now, Dion did a great job phenomenally recruiting.
Starting point is 00:54:19 Mm-hmm. But a lot of those checks and state guys with him. Hunter and Shadur. Uh-huh, and then he went out and got more Juko players and got more people in the transfer portal. Now he has, what, the number one, the top five classes coming in. He's getting players, and he's basically getting people to come. It's not hype.
Starting point is 00:54:42 Now, if he doesn't win this season and win more than six games, then it is hype. Yeah. It's all hype. But if they are able to win, the Big 12, get into the college football playoff. Shador Sanders has a great season like he did, his second season at Jackson State.
Starting point is 00:55:04 He has a phenomenal season. Travis Hunter has a phenomenal season. Dylan Edwards has a phenomenal season. If that team exceeds expectations, they come back from the down season, they exceed expectations, have a phenomenal season next season. You could be looking at that team, possibly playing for the national championship.
Starting point is 00:55:27 So you need to rally around this man. Quit hating on this man. This man has done it all. He has seen more and done more than any player in history. And we're talking about players. You put him up there with greatest athletes, peer athletes, like a Michael Jordan, like a Wayne Gretzky, like a Kobe Bryant, a Labrano James, a Muhammad Ali,
Starting point is 00:55:50 Serena and Venus Williams. You put him up. He's it up there. And he is the greatest two-sport player of all time. Bo Jackson could have been he had not fucked up his hip. Yep. Bo could have been the greatest two-way player. Dion, what Beau fell off, Dion picked it up.
Starting point is 00:56:08 Dion basically said, it's like, you know what, you've got to believe. You've got to believe. We're coming. He's coming. And he's here. So, though, so to me, Colorado is a threat. I do see Colorado possibly in the top 25 coming out in the polls in August.
Starting point is 00:56:30 Y'all got a rally around this team. This guy has basically every single game that he had at Folsom Field sold out. Brought the likes of the Rock, Terrell Owens, Pat McAfee, Little Wayne, Future, all these celebrities came to see Coach Prime. They had the most primetime games
Starting point is 00:56:51 since 1990 one the year they won the national championship they split the national championship with Georgia Tech that was the
Starting point is 00:57:06 then you've got to think about that you guys got to think about that richest and think about those dart times Prime is coming back Prime came back is coming back and he's coming back harder he's got Warren Sat now on the NFL player
Starting point is 00:57:21 working, former NFL players working with his team. Friends of his, you might want to say. But that team is going to be dangerous. I thought they should have
Starting point is 00:57:37 beaten UFC because Taylor Williams is trash. Matter of fact, that game, I actually bet it against the spread for Colorado to cover it, and they did because it was plus 21. Colorado lost my son. So I won that.
Starting point is 00:57:53 Nice. But they don't have to worry about the back 12. The only two teams they really have to worry about KU, K State. Two great quarterbacks that we have in the area, Jaden Daniels, Jalen Daniels, Avery Johnson. And Avery Johnson is a bad man. Just like Shador is a bad man.
Starting point is 00:58:21 Colorado you guys got a chance to make history and of course I know that game at Arrowhead Stadium is going to suck this Thanksgiving week if I remember it's Thanksgiving weekend they're coming in okay I'm getting my tickets early I want to see history yes I'm a KU fan but I'm also a coach prime fan too so if you see me in both Colorado and KU gear mind your business look like a mama-calf style yeah mind your business okay really mind your business Just do that mind your business, enjoy the game. I'm still rock chalk, but I'm become a coach prime fan, and I want to see him succeed.
Starting point is 00:59:00 And as a black man, I want to see this man succeed. I want this man to change the culture. And that's what he did with college football. Basically, what he's doing ran Nick Saban out of Alabama and out of college football. That and the NIL, we won't get to that too. But he said it, why can't my team? team be like Alabama. Yeah, why not us?
Starting point is 00:59:24 Why not us? And that's the mentality you have to have. Why not us? So that's my take on color. All right. All right. That was a great discussion, and I'd have you on board. And, yeah, we will call it up soon.
