Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey. Um, Dum da da da da da da da. Um, dumb da da da da da. Dunbom. Turn it ag. It's time to go.
Starting point is 00:00:13 It's the show. I said a day that. Brost town. Later today, today I'm recording for the fuck the standard podcast. I'm going forward to that. Right now I'm just going to focus on trying to get some gas. Okay, where was I?
Starting point is 00:03:01 Oh yeah, gas. Yeah, got to get gas. Unfortunately. 9 EV, at least not yet. So you gotta get gas. And gas is fucking expensive anymore. You know? Especially given my gas,
Starting point is 00:03:19 I've been running no ethanol, gasoline. Since the old fuel pump got clogged up with all the crap they put in regular gas. And it's just to just say to unfortunately, a little more expensive.
Starting point is 00:03:44 My first time is actually going to make sure we can actually pay for this because fuck you Trump. I'm making it so hard on everyone. Fuck myself a little bit for getting this car fixed. Again, I'm not in the market. I care of what I have. Let's try to. Because tomorrow is Thanksgiving.
Starting point is 00:04:16 Maybe it's today, maybe it's tomorrow, but I got to tell the Children of the Circle story, which is a Boy Scout story. appreciate. Children in the circle, some point today or tomorrow. Okay, so the DoorDash company of errors. I found this item. I was supposed to pick up. However, it is. Hell out there. I did let them know. This was a tough day of dashing.
Starting point is 00:05:32 Three hours, all very high paying, so I do appreciate that. But anyone watching familiar with, anyone watching familiar with, Molly Python That's what's coming to mine Specifically The Gumbees No Doctor
Starting point is 00:05:56 Doctor We're a doctor And a doctor Spicious No I'm not deep brain specious No No I'm not
Starting point is 00:06:27 Yes I am Now my brain hurts. Nurse, nurse, Nour, NUR, NAR, DECB, Brain Tudgeon,
Starting point is 00:07:03 Where's the accent? My brain hurts, too. But for Gambi, so, yeah. Would like to make someone Perrier in tangents. I'd like to end up. The end of the sound of two bricks being bashed together.
Starting point is 00:07:50 I'd like to say John the Baptist impersonation of Graham. That's where my brain is. Unfortunately, this is some of a bitching beverage. Brain heard said bits of happened in part because, well, you saw the ear, that's air. but also especially in spraps are up there's sprouts not too they're crazy they sprats are very nice folks but shopping there i swear to god and me i only ever shop there for door to ashore shopping i swear to god they well my head looks pulled and then just now a
Starting point is 00:09:50 price chopper so first ever time to a price chopper order because uh me because when i was uh starting that was not a thing Right. Yeah, getting there and finding the right items, only have the wrong codes associated with them. That's bullshit. So, fix that. But, oh, no, very high-pay orders. I pay enough that I can take tomorrow off with Thanksgiving and everything. And not have to worry, because I plan on doing Dash on Friday. So, man, nice, nice use my day off from teaching. I did have to get gas, but fortunately, I didn't have to go up to Blue Springs, but I started to go a couple of towns, Midtown, and now to, I'm in KCK right now.
Starting point is 00:10:53 I won't try to get home as quickly as possible, so I can get ready for that interview. Hi, everybody. So coming close to the end of this, uh, pod pomo thing and also happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrates so I'm thankful for everyone that's helped out with this podcast in some way shape or form mostly by being a co-host or being a guest so to all those folks thank you I very much appreciate and I hope to get time of you back for our 200th
Starting point is 00:12:00 episode coming very soon. I still have not nailed down the time to get everyone together to start to work on that, but it'll be sometime in December
Starting point is 00:12:14 following and likely after classes are done for the for the holidays. So I'll probably have about a month
Starting point is 00:12:35 between classes and the holidays, but we will see. We'll see. We'll get some then some big for 200. And remember everything that's being recorded in
Starting point is 00:12:49 2025 the last month plus that's 25 will go into season 10. I don't care if it does go over. It's going to go over anyway because of this challenge. So just get that out of the way. So go on as long as I want to, of course, any bonus stuff will be thrown into the season as well.
Starting point is 00:13:16 Like, for example, when it comes to the tournament, because we'll be doing tournament again this year. all right so as promised it's thanksgiving and uh we are going to talk i'm going to tell you the uh children of the circle story so this is a boy scouts story um those who are regular listeners or or if you don't you probably know i was in boy scouts um made it to life was uh merpedge and a marriage badge and Eagle project shy of Gang Eagle so
Starting point is 00:14:02 I was very very close to Eagle but that's not the point to this story now is it so in my troop we did a thing and by the way rest of piece 256 and went from
Starting point is 00:14:25 256 and once it come on I haven't had any of those guys on yet so you're more welcome to drop me yeah yeah because Jeff was a different troop so 256 guys
Starting point is 00:14:43 let's get some of you guys on anyway to the story our troop did a annual they called the turkey campout and it was your usual campouts which we did
Starting point is 00:15:04 one every month even in the cold one exception was July where we had Bartle for a week and a half at a boy scab camp earning merit patches and
Starting point is 00:15:18 stuff but the turkey campouts was oh it's pretty cool because the dads cooked Thanksgiving dinner for everybody turkey and stuffing and mashed
Starting point is 00:15:34 and mashed potatoes is and pumpkin pie and this is the crux of the story is the pumpkin pa stuff so there's one specific turkey campettes
Starting point is 00:15:51 we're at the campfire girls camp somewhere in Pike County Camp Sean Nee was what was called and I don't know if it's still around or even if it's even if it's
Starting point is 00:16:08 even if it's still a campfire site, but we were standing there and had nice buildings and stuff. So the dads were in the mess hall because it was fucking cold. That particular camp out, it's a general tendency to be, but it was especially cold at this time I do recall that everyone was huddled in the mess hall. just to stay warm and all that so so
Starting point is 00:16:50 the 10s they did not have any square they didn't have any of the round pie tins to make their pumpkin pie so you do what you got to do and they had square tins therefore making square pies
Starting point is 00:17:07 and always remember that pie are square right well this pissed off a bunch of scouts and they started calling themselves the children of the circle they got little circles they were going around with little circles around their foreheads and everything and they started chanting round them edges round them edges round them edges it's just peh and there are examples of square pie pies out there.
Starting point is 00:17:45 You go to McDonald's, their apple pies. It'd be generous to call them pies. First of all, second of all, they're square, right? Have you ever eaten
Starting point is 00:17:57 a little Cicters, Detroit-style pizza? Those are square. So cut that shit out. Round them edges, round the edges. Pies can be square. and that's something the dad's had to deal with and I think they
Starting point is 00:18:20 do it pretty well and something that the scans had to get used to I did not participate in this children's the circle bullshit by the way primarily because I don't like pumpkin pie there you learn something about me there and yeah yeah not a fan of the Bunk and pie, so it then faced me one way or another if the pie was square or round. So, so yeah, that is your math lesson for today, pie, R square. In fact, let's go, let this go to Google, because I did see this last night, the share
Starting point is 00:19:18 square lists examples of square pies and I'm going to put this on the share screen so y'all can see what I'm doing
Starting point is 00:19:44 here you all right examples of square pies include slab pies certain types of pizzas savory pat-pahs, no kid, m'pah, and hand pies. While most pies are traditionally round, the shape is defined by the container.
Starting point is 00:20:09 It's baked in, and some square varieties are designed to feed a crowd, often a bore. This is the actual crust-filling ratio. Sweet square pies include the slab pa, which, yeah, this would describe what I'm trying to explain here. They were slap,
Starting point is 00:20:34 pumpkin pies. So the large form at first of the traditional pie baked in a rectangular, rimmed baking sheets, as these were. These are ideal for surfing a crowd at parties and potlucks, and they can feature any classic pie filling, such as fruit slap pie, or the pecan slap pie. And we have chess pie bars.
Starting point is 00:21:03 While classic chess pie is round, some varieties are baked as bars or squares make them easier to hold and to serve. I'm not for a chess pie bar. Saver squares, Sicilian pizza, or as I called it earlier, Detroit-style pizza, savory ham pies,
Starting point is 00:21:38 Huntsman pie, that's a British thing. Which sounds like it would be good for a day like today. The huntsman pies baked in a rectangle loaf pans result in square rectangular pies. The pie is often made with a combination of pork, chicken, and stuffing. picnic
Starting point is 00:22:02 Pais Vigua pat-pah No key My Pipea Where to find Or bake square pies You can make your own Square Pie
Starting point is 00:22:16 With recipes for Slap Pie And Savory Hand Pyes For most of the Sites like Taste of Home Martha's Church
Starting point is 00:22:24 And KitchenAid Look for Sicilian pizza At Pizza restaurants In New York City And other areas Or just go Little Seasers
Starting point is 00:22:31 And If you are purchasing pre-made pies markets and bakeries may offer varieties in square forms such as market size apple caramel pie square squares now can and uh i think i's going to do it for this um so i have a happy thanksgiving and we will be at this tomorrow i don't think i'll do another blog today So, and we only have three more days of this challenge. So, so, yeah, peace. Oh, and, and I think Detroit's going win, I know.
Starting point is 00:23:24 Sorry, Sarah, the Green Bay Fair, fan, I can't talk today. Green Bay fan shareholder of the family. Sorry, I'm picking Detroit to win today. As much it pains me to pick Casey to win ever. They're playing at Dallas today. Oh, come on, thanks to him in the traditionally Detroit and Dallas. Play home games. But Casey is playing Dallas today.
Starting point is 00:24:00 And fuck Jerry Jones. Fuck him in the asshole with a big rubber dick, bring him to death. with the rest of it and then have Satan continue to do that for all eternity and then there's a money
Starting point is 00:24:17 that's a Sunday and there's a thing's coming night games and say in Baltimore uh go bangles all right
Starting point is 00:24:40 so when I said earlier that that was that I don't do one post today well that turned out to be a lie so so it's my makeshift to Thanksgiving I just completed some DoorDash today great day to do DoorDash by the way so I got my energy drink right here all right it's done to do in a way to get this pie out of the way so this is a ample pie from the delicious store and oh oh look square pie and then the last thing is a chicken tenders. No turkey this year. That's fine. Yep, Thanksgiving. I do
Starting point is 00:25:51 probably doing another dash here very, very soon, like a couple hours. John and we'll just eat up. Everybody, so day 28, almost there. Almost there. Two more dates ago. So, yeah, this morning already interesting. and a good way. Anyway, so I set a call with Matthew at Libson. Those unaware, Libson is the hosting service I use for a call for. I happen to be friends with Rob Walsh there.
Starting point is 00:26:46 I met him through the podcasting meetups that he ran, and then I wound up running until I could run in no more. It's just basically taking me through the steps and showing me how Lipsin 5 works and all the cool stuff that goes on there. I also took the opportunity to roll the podcast in some of the called Podroll. I think in theory it's supposed to be like a give preview episodes of the podcast on other people's podcasts. So that would be pretty pretty. Interesting. See, and yeah, he did a very straightforward way and everything.
Starting point is 00:27:42 And I recorded it for my personal needs, is way too boring. And boiler plates to a podcast. So don't expect that episode to combat, ever. And, yeah, we're going to be pretty busy coming up here. I've got two more episodes, at least, to record. in December days and, uh, depending on other people's podcasts, of course. Um, if you wonder what happened with, uh, fuck the standard, uh, that's not recorded yet. Uh, the host, uh, contacted me at the last seconds.
Starting point is 00:28:28 Tell them, yeah, yeah, we have this app with, uh, the, uh, the thing's even so. Okay, yeah, we'll reschedule. Uh, by the way, you need to fix your rescheduling links. Um, those other. Podcasts to the Berks is. How much this month? Just adding the first two napot pomo episodes to the feed. As it stands right now, our napot pomo specials, they will be numbered 201 through 206.
Starting point is 00:29:27 There will be six of them. So we'll do five days at a time. The first batch, the first five days, I could tell you right now, that is, free darn long. That's over two hours long and then day seven one and they parts two and three are going to be just not going to be as long and we'll see how everything else goes. But the plan right now is for napo-mo episodes to release every Wednesday
Starting point is 00:30:09 starting this Wednesday until all six have been released so that you can hear the Napot pomo goodness lots and lots of fun and thanking again for the opportunity to do this so you can pull off tomorrow
Starting point is 00:30:37 I'll be working all day tomorrow and of course Sunday will be the last day of epaum way too early soon all right well we might get a couple more in today we will as always we'll see so for now and this slow connection bar is keeping me from turning the damn thing off so here we go interesting day today doing the door dish so as I from my usual telling them to fuck off with stack orders and shit and uh telling them uh yeah fuck off also you got also fuck off with the whole uh making me take the interstate thing because that's not going to happen um interesting
Starting point is 00:33:08 a couple positives to talk about first of all best week i've had since uh what the hell okay there we go best week i have had since in the injuner. replaced. 200 in a week. Oh shit. I'm doing over 200 this week. That's $200. This discount.
Starting point is 00:33:44 And that's all I have three days' work. Partly fueled by really high-paying orders, and I always appreciate those. Hey, I think high-paying orders should be more of a norm, especially if you're in an area like ours were crossing staint lines and county lines is a
Starting point is 00:34:15 kind of necessity and so I'll talk about both those orders so one that was a grocery order on Wednesday worth over 30 which paid over 30 bucks going to a couple of in Midtown area. Exactly where, because I first back to their property, but, but yeah, it was the Sprouts of Farmers Markets, which I think the little cousin of Whole Foods. It's the best way to describe them. And I cried to their stuff,
Starting point is 00:35:15 always because I always have a headache trying to find my way around that place. But the staff, to their credit, is always helpful. Everything. I really appreciate that. So they paid very, very well on that order, but not as well as one I had two days. So today to pick up was from, I get you not, the restaurant depot in the West bottoms. This is a supermarket That their big clientele is
Starting point is 00:35:52 A little little restaurants They buy in bulk Here, so Think like Sam's Club or Costco For restaurants If you're eating out I'm sorry, they got their stuff from here The order was for a
Starting point is 00:36:19 Box of King Crab Lakes Aftertax unfortunately that's part of the all red card situation of those who are to ask you should probably have the red card they're supposed to program it every time you
Starting point is 00:36:38 take an order and everything. They didn't one time recently but they they've been really good at that since but just a one just this one box of king crab legs
Starting point is 00:36:54 before tax was $208 bucks after tax well over 300 and took a while to actually get this box but when I did I had a super happy customer
Starting point is 00:37:08 I think of a drive too because he's on South KC like almost Grandview area and I try to fuck you to the asshole driving down 71 and a couple assholes who did that
Starting point is 00:37:30 so trying to fuck you to those guys but what was really cool was really cool I got there finally was in the destination with the box of the crab legs which were so big I felt to come close to buckle them in right so then I got there the guy was there to take the box off my hands and shake my hand which you never you normally don't do that with Dordash but I know that's some of and everything.
Starting point is 00:38:09 So, got that, got the $40, yeah, over $40 just on that. Just picked up this really expensive item and drive all the way out to South Casey. So as a result, partially on the power of these two huge orders. Now, should you, now, the dashers out there, should you expect huge orders every single time? Probably not. But if you do have a huge paying order like that, awesome. I'm not going to tell you how to dash. I can just have for my advice on dashing.
Starting point is 00:39:11 But heck in a week. On day 29 now of, our net pot pomo challenge so just get this out of the way and then tomorrow's last day and I'm no excitement
Starting point is 00:39:40 I am busy our big chess tournaments today the Halloween no Thanksgiving open up I was about to say Halloween that was a month so we are just about ready to go and a couple hours and we'll be here
Starting point is 00:40:00 pretty much all day at the club if you are in the Kansas City area and just want to stop by for some casual play we can get you taken care of. We do have a visitor fee of $10. So come on, come on down. Don't mind the rain and the five days cold. And if we get another video in today, great.
Starting point is 00:40:30 If not, we'll see you tomorrow for day 30. the ultimate day of this challenge. The siblings got home, their trip. Oh yeah, today is the last day of this napot-pot-po exercise. The max was six. Who knows how much material I actually recorded these past 30 days,
Starting point is 00:41:27 but it's a lot. I'll continue to piss me off. I'm sitting down the streets hit the intersection and Wi-Fi goes out and so today it just occurred to me then I don't know today is the anniversary of when I was
Starting point is 00:42:08 in the hospital for context if you are not on a regular podcast to the lesser this day four years ago 2021 I had what I can best describe as a mini stroke There's tingling in the exact places they tell you to look for strokes and stuff on the left side of the face.
Starting point is 00:42:40 In the emergency room, in an emergency room hospital, in a rolling park where I stayed Thursday and telling my boss no, I, for probably the first time. Since working with the chess club, I can't come in today. Because I think I might have had a stroke. It was cat scans and bugs. Chinaki in that emergency room. Transfer you to a hospital for overnight observation and for more tests. And they put me in an ambulance. Okay, a big mistake right there.
Starting point is 00:43:51 Because that's... If never had the pleasure, should I say, of riding in an ambulance. millions they build they build a fuck idea for that so took me up to uh st luke's north kind of ironic i went to a hospital within the county that i live in and wound up in a hospital north closer to uh where i uh work and i was sharing this irony with uh anyone who would listen um that day so it's it's most It's most of the next day in that hospital room on the first. Most of the day in that hospital room, just waiting. The expression, hurry up and wait.
Starting point is 00:45:06 I could apply here. So they waited and then the car test on these. It starts on my heart is fine, no abnormalities. anything so that's good enough and uh that's when i found out you cannot put me in a mri because i was freaking out it lasted about uh four minutes that was long enough for them to determine uh yeah you suffered no permanent brain damage from a stroke so that's probably not what much had but we did find that your uh blood pressure is high and your cholesterol levels are so we're putting you on ator rastatin you may know this drug by the brand name lipitor if you
Starting point is 00:46:08 a cholesterol drug and i've been on and out every day i take it every day for the past four years now so yeah i also learned that i really do need to try to do a better job relaxing and everything and there's going to be a part two to this so uh I will be back for part two. And we're back. Things that happened since being in that hospital. Four years ago today. Just how incredibly lonely I was during that whole thing
Starting point is 00:47:17 and how it kind of reflects today. Mention if I actually did have a stroke. That'd be no one. I would have no one. helping me on one exception was my dad picking me up classes as driver's license don't tell the comes but uh be but uh he pitched me up and then pretend to drop me off uh where i had parts back at the emergency room hospital that was it imagine how different that would mean if i had uh someone needed to find that uh special someone and being unable to
Starting point is 00:48:32 this is a direct result that in times like this I pretty much let's my own I'm pretty much at the mercy of my own will and I don't see that how that is healthy and I question how I'm still a lot this is exactly what I'm talking about one change that came out of the support was finding a doctor and I'll be saved my doctor in a couple weeks from today. Just the tenter annual checkup. There was a bit of a scare. During the summer, I got a little dehydrated. I ended up at the same hospital, St. Luke's North. Spent a couple hours. But also I did change my eating habits somewhat. A little food can't actually be pretty
Starting point is 00:50:35 to see if if you know that's reinforced with my brother's own struggles. I just do not see how much so I was going to close out with this but I'll go ahead and
Starting point is 00:51:09 just close out this challenge with this I'll just say it right now. I Christmas wish saying my birthday wish same as all those are the wishes just It's just to find that someone, before you comment, before you comment, what about so-and-so, so-and-so.
Starting point is 00:51:39 There are reasons that I'm not with those people in that capacity. So it's time, it's something I've never been any good at, clearly. And so that I genuinely, need help with. So if you can help me in that help in that regard, if all you do is get the plurice up by the bootstretched type
Starting point is 00:52:39 of thing, you can fuck off because you have been nothing but unhelpful. It has not worked for me so the past weeks. Holy shit. Oh, by the way, it's snowing a little bit right now, and I just
Starting point is 00:53:47 hit a huge patch of ice. It's fucking cold Thanks to Randy Marsh Son of a bitch Also, because it's the last day of November, tomorrow would be December 1st
Starting point is 00:54:03 Well, if If this is The end of Matt Potpamal, then Great, it's been It's been interesting I don't know if I'm going to see it next year, but Yeah, it's
Starting point is 00:54:22 It's been It's been quite interesting to record all that material instead of for my benefit as well as for you the listener anyway
Starting point is 00:54:37 yes I am very well aware that Facebook is starting to take these live videos in particular down so I will arrange to have the video portions we do have a
Starting point is 00:55:04 small YouTube channel It's called Uncalled for Video Interviews and I'll just plan on having the videos live there. I've already started ending on the audio, charged here soon. In fact, the first edition is really some Wednesday. It'll be every Wednesday until all six are done. So each one will be five days worth of material. All right.
Starting point is 00:55:56 Let's go. Help my day, man. Hi, good evening, everybody. So, uh,
Starting point is 00:56:23 this is the last, uh, nap pot pomo, 2025, um, recording we will do for, uh, uncalled for.
Starting point is 00:56:34 Uh, I just want to take a minute to say, uh, thank you to, all you for your continued support of the podcast. And, uh, hopefully you're getting the word out.
Starting point is 00:56:48 You know, one thing I'd do. want to share with you guys very quick is if you would like to help me out with raising some money for my car repairs this this go fund me is still open this goes back to the summer to the summer when I had to replace my car engine, everything. But if you want to donate, you can, you can look up assist Mike Chernevsky in overcoming car troubles. So far, I only raised 8% of what I initially asked for,
Starting point is 00:57:49 which is still. a lot, you know, $570, but it's still open, so if you would like to donate, please do if you do not want to donate but don't want to help out. I greatly appreciate that too. We will
Starting point is 00:58:11 see in the next couple months if I'm going to be able to retire that fundraiser, but given my current situation every little bit helps
Starting point is 00:58:27 so once again I want to thank everyone for your continued support of the podcast and I'm really excited about seeing what happens in the coming months
