Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome to once again to unofficial fan lounge, your unofficial UFO podcast within the feed of this podcast. I'll call for my name is Mike Chernevsky. I'll be your host for this and anything else that appears on this feed. And the conference championships are over and done with. We're ready for the UFO championship Saturday, June 14, 2020. at the dome at America
Starting point is 00:01:03 Center in beautiful downtown St. Louis, Missouri. But first, let's see how these conference championships went. Spoiler, I didn't get a single pick right
Starting point is 00:01:19 this weekend. So here we go. I'm going to start with the earlier of the two games, the USFL. conference championship played in birmingham the crowd was 10,928 so not too bad Michigan 44 Birmingham 29 so congratulations to the Michigan Panthers on getting to the championship game and also
Starting point is 00:01:59 the stallions deserve congratulations as well what they were trying to do was a very tough ask all right trying to win four straight titles
Starting point is 00:02:13 the first two being the USFL titles in 22 and 23 and then last year's UFO championship so I do applaud them for that but unfortunately the stallions lost
Starting point is 00:02:28 and there will be our number four in our power rings so we're going to cue that music Birmingham we take flight stalem's rising feel our might and the game we fight fight fight holes pounding on the ground in the silence hear the sound in three calls were battle-bound giddy upward glory foul kitty up and stallions ride run the field with pride Birmingham we won't hide giddy upward side by side Fearless hearts and steady eyes, charged through to the skies. In their wake our rabble sighed, kiddie up, we never die.
Starting point is 00:03:42 Hold the line we're standing true, in the game it's me and you. Getty up, we break right through, stallion's red and gold, so true. Key up, stallions ride. Run the field with fry Urban hell we won't hide Givey up with side by side Givey up we're side All the line is standing true
Starting point is 00:04:17 In the game is me and you Givey up we break right through Now he's ran and both so true The nostalgia's rhyme Run the field with pride But yeah, we won't hide We're side by side And so
Starting point is 00:04:39 Yes, by virtue of losing this game And having a worse, than our number three team Birmingham will finish number four in our power rankings for this year but they still again lots of credits
Starting point is 00:05:07 doing trying to do something that is pretty hard to do to win four straight titles in a row so game leaders for this particular game for
Starting point is 00:05:23 Michigan we have Perkins led the team in passing 20 completions on 25 attempts, 234 yards, one touchdown. Ta'uwa was our rushing leader. 21 rushes 85 yards, three touchdowns. Pretty impressive. And Turner led with six receptions, 99 yards, one touchdown. So good job at the Panthers for Birmingham.
Starting point is 00:05:52 Corral was your leading passer 12 of 25 147 yards two touch ends marabelle was your leading rusher eight attempts for 28 yards and a touch end and cane your leading receiver six catches 124 yards no TDs one impressive stat for me in this game with something that contributed to the Michigan win. That was a Smith throwing an interception to Kai Nakua. We ran in four touchdown for Michigan late in the first half.
Starting point is 00:06:44 So good job. That's a total team effort by the Michigan Panthers. Congratulations on winning the USFL conference championship now we get to the XFL side of things and I got to be honest with you
Starting point is 00:07:03 I watched the first half of this game at a local sports bar ate too much and wound up not feeling so good I think you can feel in the rest but your final score
Starting point is 00:07:21 DC 36 St. Louis 18. Crowd was 27,589. So unfortunately, my beloved battlehawks are done for the year and at the hands of the big rival at that. So unfortunately, St. Louis
Starting point is 00:07:49 8 and 2 record for his regular season beats everyone at least once unfortunately one of those two losses was to DC at the dome and again the same mistakes we made during that loss were evident here we did poor job of blocking the guys we should have been blocking
Starting point is 00:08:12 and that's unfortunately contributed to this loss so here we are number three in our power rankings for the 2025 UFL season is the St. Louis Battlehawks. And, of course, all of our team songs were created at suno.com, SUNO.com, as well as the theme for this particular podcast. And I could not get AI to properly pronounce the word cronky.
Starting point is 00:08:46 So just bear with me. St. Louis, I have one question for you. What do you think of Craigie? Shit! What do you think of shit? Kuroenka! Sake you! That's all right!
Starting point is 00:08:59 Battlehawks take the field! Raise up the shield, together we stand. Crankly out, we shout this is our land. Car car with the law, we rise and resolve. Better hearts we shine, stronger than before. In the dough we roar, blue and gray we flaunt. No one tears us down, stay on my haunt. From deep up to the end, victory in sight,
Starting point is 00:10:12 cacao is the law, we own the night. Kaka is a law We rise and we saw Yes, kaka is the law indeed. I am not a fireback type at least not yet I think he's done a
Starting point is 00:10:57 superb job the past three years and one year in the XFL now too in the UFO getting us tremendous regular season records unfortunately it just hasn't
Starting point is 00:11:12 translated well in the playoffs certainly the XFL we got screwed out of a playoff spot, of course. But two years now with the UFL, two years hosting the XFL conference championship, and both times losing pretty embarrassingly. I should point out. So I'm not quite fired back just yet.
Starting point is 00:11:41 I understand if you are, all right, and I respect your thoughts on that. but I'm not quite there yet just because of how well he's done managing these players but seriously that our O-line needs to do a much better job at blocking certain guys especially 48
Starting point is 00:12:03 for DC so game leaders for this particular game we'll start with DC Teamu the original battle hog quarterback I should point out 18 and 26 passing for 204 yards and a touchdown
Starting point is 00:12:22 Jackson your leading rusher 21 rushes for 110 yards two touchdowns and Williams two catches 61 yards one TD on the Balhawk side of things Dugan some of 14 passing 105 yards no touchdowns but it does have a rushing touchdown important to point out Jacob sailors For much of the season The league leader in rushing
Starting point is 00:12:53 Nine Nine attempts for 45 yards On a touchdown So not too bad Darby Our million receiver Two catches for 53 yards No TDs
Starting point is 00:13:05 I should go and point out That Hakeem Butler got TD catch from Brent Silvers Who went in after the first half and got knocked out, it sounds like. So hopefully he recovers during the coming months before the next season. And I can guarantee you there will be a next season from what all we're hearing from the league.
Starting point is 00:13:39 So our championship is indeed set. it will be the Michigan Panthers and the D.C. Defenders Saturday, June 14, 7 p.m. Central Time. At the Dome and America Center in St. Louis, you can watch this game on your local ABC station. Both these teams finish the regular season six and four. and I believe Michigan beats DC earlier in the year so so yeah and of course the DC are our big rivals and once again there will be no beer snakes in the dome all right beer snakes are not in the dome all right but that said I will go with the Michigan Panthers to win this year's a new FL championship so 50-50 at this point but I got to go
Starting point is 00:14:57 with the Panthers simply because they beat DC earlier in the year but but they get into camps really predict something like this especially a playoff situation based on past performance so we will see see how everything goes. And I hope all of us all the Ballhawk fans who have their season tickets show up and put the
Starting point is 00:15:24 painness aside and support the league in this case. With all that out of the way, good luck to D.C. Good luck to Michigan. And thank you all for listening. And we will talk next
Starting point is 00:15:42 week when we crowd. our top two spoiler LBTC and Michigan in some quarter you know No.
