Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey, everybody. I want to tell you about a new program I created to support founders. It's called Remote Demo Day.com. Now, why did I create this? Well, you might have heard 10, 11 years ago, I started something called Open Angel Forum. I would have six or seven companies come to my living room or my friend's house. They would pitch 10 investors and we try to make a match. Now there's so many companies, but we can't do that. We can't do in-person meetings. So I created Remote Demo Day and I want you to apply to come pitch at remote demo day. Now, it's very expensive. We charge $0 for you to come and pitch.
Starting point is 00:00:34 And you have to have a great company that's raising money. And here's the catch. If you clear $200,000, $300,000 in interest from our syndicate, we're going to give you the money. Okay? So it costs zero. You have to fill out a form. We pick the seven best companies we find.
Starting point is 00:00:53 And the last time we did it, we had seven great companies. five of the seven broke the $200,000 barrier, and now the syndicate.com, which is my angel syndicate, is going to invest in those companies. How amazing is this? We just came up with this idea because we thought, well, we're all stuck at home.
Starting point is 00:01:09 We all set up our home offices. We got our microphones. We got Zoom set up. F it. Let's just find companies and we'll have them present for three or four minutes and take a couple questions.
Starting point is 00:01:19 And five of the seven got funded. That is an amazing success. both for the founders and the investors who are going to be lucky enough to invest in these companies. So here's all I'm asking. Remote DemoDay.com. Apply with your startup. Now, your startup has to have a product in market and we want you to have some revenue. This isn't a program for ideas. It's not a business plan competition. If you want to do a business plan or if you want to make a mockup, watch my podcast this week in startups. We talk about it all day long. Remotemotemoday.com is for companies that haven't raised their Series A, but they got their company into the hands of some customers
Starting point is 00:01:59 and they have a little bit of revenue. So we're doing it again, but I need more people to apply because I want to give more money. I want to invest more money and more companies. This is what I'm doing. This is my legacy in life. I got seven unicorns. You know them. You can name them because I name them every day. They're on my Twitter profile. You know all these amazing companies, whether it's Calm, Thumbtack, Datastacks, Desktop metal, Wealthfront, Robin Hood. There's a taxi company, Uber. I think I invested in that one. There's so many great companies that we're meeting, and we're meeting them when they have about 10K a month in revenue.
Starting point is 00:02:31 You can have 100K, but somewhere between 10 and 100K a monthly revenue. That's what we're looking for. Go ahead and apply. If you're an investor and you're accredited, you can apply right at Remote Demoday.com, and you get access to the companies. We send you a Zoom link,
Starting point is 00:02:45 and you get to see them. It's so quick and easy too, because they just present for three or four minutes. They take a couple questions, and boom, we're done in like 45 minutes. So it's the most efficient thing you could have. ever do. It's super entertaining. As an investor, you get to see all these amazing companies, and they haven't raised their Series A yet. So they haven't, the venture capitalists haven't gotten
Starting point is 00:03:02 to these companies yet. That's been the secret of my success. I get to the companies before the venture capitalist. So I'm kind of like a point guard. I bring the ball up the court and then whoop, no look pass. All of a sudden, Chimoth dunks it. J-Cal comes down the court. Woop, Sequoia takes the ball. Jaycal comes down, boop, boop, boop. Oh, passes to Bill Gurley, dunk. That's what I do for a living. I'm the point guard. Now you get to bring the ball up the court with me. If you've got a great company. Remotedemoday.com, apply right now. I mean, I'm so proud of my team. Ashley did a great job on this. I take a lot of credit for the work we do here, but Ashley, who works with me for the last five years, does all the work on this one, and I show up and take the credit.
Starting point is 00:03:37 And if you want to join us, Remote Demoday.com, that's it. Apply if you're an accredited investor and apply if you're a startup and you need money, and you want to have me on your cap table, which I can tell you is a bit of an advantage. And there might be some VCs who look and go, you know what? One out of 25, one out of 50 equals a unicorn for J-Cal. Maybe I should pay attention to his deal flow. That's the name of the game here. You know what they say in Silicon Valley, no conflict, no interest. All right. Just join us. Remote Demoday.com.
