Starting point is 00:01:30 I'm a little bit tired of this. I'm a little bit tired of this. I'm a little bit tired of this. I'm a little bit tired of this. I'm a little bit tired of this. Welcome, welcome, welcome to the episode. Hey, hey. Hey, I just got back from DC. What a beautiful city.
Starting point is 00:01:53 We used to, do you remember the restaurant we ate at over there? We walked out of like 10 pounds heavier. It was a call. I kind of was like red something. Lobster? Red lobster? Lobster, yeah. Dude, you're quick today dude. You're quick today dude you taught me everything I
Starting point is 00:02:08 Yeah, um, do you have memories do that joke again? I want that joke Everybody Five four three two one. I think it was called red lobster Wow Wow You're so quick today. You're so quick today.
Starting point is 00:02:29 It was a yogurt shop. It was a yogurt shop. It was a yogurt shop. It was a yogurt shop. It was a yogurt shop. It was a yogurt shop. It was a yogurt shop. It was a yogurt shop.
Starting point is 00:02:37 It was a yogurt shop. It was a yogurt shop. It was a yogurt shop. It was a yogurt shop. It was a yogurt shop. It was a yogurt shop. It was a yogurt shop. It was a yogurt shop. It was a yogurt shop. It was a yogurt shop. It was a yogurt shop. It was a yogurt shop. of like last week. I have no memories of anything. Do you think your memory is going out?
Starting point is 00:02:45 I have arthritis. I don't know that. Coral like memory. I know I sort of got, I have arthritis. Where, do you not think it's just from video games? No, no, no. When I wake up every morning, it, my hands hurt. Like how?
Starting point is 00:03:00 Like if I do this, it hurts. It hurts. Jesus. And then watch, see this, this finger, what's it called that pinky? Yeah. Down here, if I do this, you could hear it knock. Oh yeah, that should work.
Starting point is 00:03:12 Like a click. That's that video games, man. Off of the jerk off. Both hands. It's not for you. Never use this. Oh, I actually don't. I've never used my left hand jerk here.
Starting point is 00:03:22 Phil, but if you don't like it, it's from 16 hours of video gaming a day. Like, no, I've never heard my left hand jerk. Feel birdie feel birdie feel birdie. That's a lie. It's from 16 hours of video gaming a day. Like, no, I've never heard of it though. I've never heard of anybody do that. Let me see. Can you look it up, Gil? Yeah. Like, arthritis and gamers.
Starting point is 00:03:35 No, I don't have it. But, yes, I have arthritis. Like my body, you know, it's so funny. As you get older, your body doesn't feel right. There's clicks. But you know, it's so funny. As you get older, your body doesn't feel right. There's clicks. But you know, it's so funny, is that you're only now feeling it at 52. I've been feeling it since my early 30s.
Starting point is 00:03:53 Like everything's broken. Well, that's the Filipino genetic makeup. You know, we're just broken people. I don't think, but I'm kidding. That's, you cancel for something. They're right, Australis. Yeah, let me read this. He's filled heels. Overuse of any joint for some of the right. I'll try out. Yeah, let me read this. He's filled.
Starting point is 00:04:05 He owes me. Overuse of any joint can lead to muscle, tendon and joint strain. Doctors are seeing an uptick in our Thread as at the base of the thumb, the likely culprit being the hour spent texting each day. I'm manipulating a gaming console. A base of the thumb, right? Mm-hmm. Every finger hurts.
Starting point is 00:04:20 I every finger has arthritis. What are you talking about? It's not a video game. Click, click, everything clicks. And I don't like it, dude, it hurts. I need trouble. Just that part, you don't have gout. Like Andrews back hurts, his disc is fucked up.
Starting point is 00:04:39 My hands are broken. It's not going good. You don't have gout to use. Is it carpal tunnel syndrome? Maybe. Yeah. No, because carpal tunnel syndrome? Maybe. Yeah. No, because carpal tunnel, you can do a really quick test for that. Oh, yeah. What are you? A fucking doctor? All of a sudden? Is it carpal tunnel? What are you talking about? What is that? Look, it is. I'm going to wipe so angry, but you know what? So what I realized
Starting point is 00:05:00 too is is that I'll probably never watch another movie again. Wait, that's crazy. It's a controversy, all right? Why? Because, you know, back in the day, all my life, I mean, not back in the day, back in the day, it's like, I would probably watch maybe 20 movies a year at least, at least, right? I haven't seen a movie in years. What? You don't have memories coming on to promote this movie, right?
Starting point is 00:05:24 What? You know, Eli is coming on to promote this movie, right? What? You know Eli is coming on to promote this movie, right? What movie? Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving. Yeah, we're going to do that. I haven't seen it. I've heard of movies. I know people are doing movies. I'm just saying, there's not, I didn't see Oppenheimer. I didn't see Barbi. I saw Barbi. I didn't see what you mean other one. Killer of the killer of the far moon. Yeah. I haven't seen colors of the far moon. Killer of the Killer of Farm Moon. That just came out. Yeah, I can't tell.
Starting point is 00:05:45 I haven't seen killers of the Farm Moon. You know what I'm saying? But you went to see, um, uh, talk to me? That's a good movie. Oh yeah, I talk, oh yeah. Okay, you're right. That's a good movie. But, uh, you're a people.
Starting point is 00:05:56 Uh, but now people talk, talk, talk. But that was different because that was me, um, wanting to meet the guys. Yeah. So I met the guys. Yeah. So I met the guys, the two brothers, Philippe O. Philippe O. Philippe O. Philippe O'Brothers, I love those guys,
Starting point is 00:06:12 so that I can like, you know, try to get into the next one. Yeah. They're gonna put you in street fighter. They're definitely going to be. I was trying to wheeze the way and the other things. We had to go ahead. What was that video you sent me at midnight last night?
Starting point is 00:06:29 And why did you send that? I was, I sent you videos about, like, am I just a person? You send videos to the, you can't send anybody else. There's things going on in the world that I want to, educate you. That was not the Middle East. What was it about? I'm going to show Gilbert right now.
Starting point is 00:06:43 No, no, no, don't show anybody right now. No, I'm gonna show Gilbert what you send me at midnight. I sent everyone that. Is it a poo? I sent it to... Is it a poo thing? No, I'm founded. I sent it to...
Starting point is 00:06:53 It's a play. It's a play. I just saw it. It's a play. You have to hear it though. With a volume. Yeah. It's a woman making pudding. It is weird. Yeah
Starting point is 00:07:08 It's a woman making pudding It is weird. It's it's shocking. It's Paula Dean making pudding. Yeah. Yeah, thank you It's people making pudding. That's all what do you do that? What's the impulse to send that? Yeah, what is the impulse to send something? Okay, so I'll tell you the impulse Santino send it to me. Uh-huh. I was horrified Right, and it's like one of thosehuh. I was horrified. Right? And it's like one of those games where you send it to somebody else. Telephone.
Starting point is 00:07:28 Let's get telephones. Oh, it ends with me. I'm not sending that to anybody. You got to that. But I said, I knew that, so I sent it to dumbfounded. I, and who do you think he sent it to? Career town.
Starting point is 00:07:37 All of career town. I'm spreading that thing because I made it so bad. I hit it at video. Setting hot to me at all. No shit, dude. But people like people jerk I hated that video so bad. They're not hot to me at all. No shit, dude. But people jerk off to that. Putting making.
Starting point is 00:07:49 Yeah, Pauladine all the time. Yeah. Why do you keep bringing a Pauladine? Just not trying to reveal the video. It's Pauladine. Oh, Pauladine. She's a racist. She's a chef that got canceled.
Starting point is 00:07:58 Oh yeah, though. She said the N word, right? No, she threw a party in the South and then it was a plantation theme and she had all the servers, you know, they were acting American descent. Which she said, the N word? Probably.
Starting point is 00:08:10 Oh, it was implied. Yeah. It's not on video today. I don't think that she can't suffer that. Yeah, so, okay, well, you know, let's play this out. So if you do like a railroad theme, 1900s. Right, and I go to, John, I go, hey, John, you get to wear overalls, these like overalls, you have to have this rail
Starting point is 00:08:30 road, I don't know what hammer, whatever thread. Right. And you're going to be the author with Irish dudes. And maybe a couple of black dudes and you know, like, what, what's the problem? Reenact. Yeah. But you're an Asian guy like recreating maybe your own like family trauma. Politines are white. Right. Lob-enact. Yeah, but you're an Asian guy like recreating maybe your own like family trauma. Politines are white. Red lobster, baby. Red lobster, dude. That was a red lobster dude. No, no, I don't know what it is. I'm sorry. Maybe I should change. Maybe you
Starting point is 00:08:56 should change the way I know it's not that. I know what it's just for this one. For this one, I wanted to agree. And you can agree other ones. Like next time, if we have like, dog the Bonnie Hunters, whatever the plural. Right, if we had like, Oh, we tried to get them when we were in Hawaii. Yeah, we did, yeah. It was up.
Starting point is 00:09:16 Like Steve Irwin's brother, Jack Irwin, who doesn't do, he doesn't mountain animals. Can I ask you guys a question? What's going on? Can I ask you guys a question? What's going on? Can I ask you guys a question? What's going on? I got into a verbal swabble yesterday at the beach. With who?
Starting point is 00:09:31 It was some guy who was like, he's just a really angry Chad. And you know Tolstoy, my sister's dog. Alice is another writer. Yes, Leo Tolstoy. Yeah. Yeah. So we've been walking around the beach for about an hour, but he's like a senior dog. Yes, Leo told me. Yeah, so we've been walking around the beach for about an hour, but he's like a senior dog.
Starting point is 00:09:48 He's an old dog, so he started to get tired and hot. So my sister, he's gay. Who, the dog? Yes, for you, yes. He absolutely is. He's not wrong. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:59 I wasn't making a joke. Yeah, he absolutely is. Post-stored the dog is a gay. Totally, 100%. Like a long, long dog. He's a low blow to gay. I didn't know that I tell you how I tell you how I know So he's a senior dog, but he loves he loves the car But hear me out tell me if I'm wrong here. I really was my dick. Dude. I love the dick Loves the car. So he's tired. He's done with the beach
Starting point is 00:10:21 and then Like a couple steps like the cars park here, and we put our blankets down here. So we could see him. We could see Tolstoy in the car. We also put a note in the car, which my sister does. She says, AC is on. Music is on.
Starting point is 00:10:36 Dog is comfortable. And then a phone number. If you have any issues, please call. And all of a sudden, we hear this guy screaming, like, who's fucking dog is this with his two kids and his wife? And he is screaming at the top of the lungs. And we're literally right there and we're like, Hey, there's a note. Read it. Right? Dog is fine. And I understand there's concern when dogs are in the car. I it happens to me all the time. I like what happens. Right?
Starting point is 00:11:05 So I was like, no, he's fine. And you're like, you're a car. I don't want to die, but I'm just saying it's like a sauna. The guy's like, you're, Jesus. They're relaxing. Sorry. The guy's like, your car is not on.
Starting point is 00:11:15 And we're like, it's a hybrid. It's on. Like, of course it's on. And then so I was like, maybe he's not hearing what I'm saying. So I run over there. And I was like, no, he gets. He's deaf. No, he's not. OK. He's like, ooh, what a good turn that was on. run over there and I was like, No, he gets, he's deaf. No, he's not.
Starting point is 00:11:25 He's like, ooh, what a good turn that was in there. I was like, what's the problem? I was like, the dog is comfortable. There's a sign right here. Like, what's the problem? Well, he barked at us. I was like, yeah, he's a dog. And then he started getting aggro.
Starting point is 00:11:39 Who did? The dog call. Oh, really? Well, you should, you know, just getting so aggro. I know that I snapped. Oh good. And I was like, oh, you're a cocksucker, huh? Oh, love it.
Starting point is 00:11:49 I like cocksucker. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And that's when my sister and everyone heard it, I was like, oh, they're like, oh shit. Because when you go off, you go off the deep end. I bet that. I know, but you too. Oh, I go red zone.
Starting point is 00:12:00 Yeah. Is this like movie theater vibes when you guys did that? Yeah, and then he was like, because his kids were there. He was like, watch your language. What color was he? Chad, white. Like just red.
Starting point is 00:12:11 I was like, lay off the royal gymmy, relax. Whoa. And then he just felt like Jimmy. Oh, Jimmy. Yeah, I feel like Jimmy. I knew that I wanted to say Chad, but I couldn't, like, it didn't occur to me. So I was like, get off the royal gymmy, and you. Neil, me. So I was like, right, get off the roads, Jimmy.
Starting point is 00:12:25 What's a good, what's a good white name? Does that get off the roads? You know what I mean? I think Jack Chad, maybe. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't like. Casper. No, that's not.
Starting point is 00:12:35 No, Casper. I don't know. Kick it, Casper. That would have been good. What? What would you say? What would you say? What would you say?
Starting point is 00:12:43 Red Lobster. Red Lobster. Oh my god. George, I swear to God, dude. I just think that, you know what I mean? You have to sleep more or something. You're talking about this. Your time is erratic, dude. Everything you're doing is erratic right now,
Starting point is 00:12:55 and it's really bothering me. I don't know what it is. But dude, you said Jimmy, yeah. And then he said he'd become more and more and more aggressive. And you know, like Renzo is, you know, my brother-in-law. Oh, you there? Yeah. Oh, he's a cop, of course more and more aggressive. And you know, like Renzo is, you know, my brother-in-law. Oh, you was there? Yeah. Oh, he's a cop, of course.
Starting point is 00:13:07 You're gonna be, you're gonna be, you're gonna be. And so he saw the dude getting more aggressive. First, he told me to like watch my language, but then he went off. He's like, you fucking slut, like in front of his kids. Oh, I just said watch his language. Yeah, he's like, you fucking slut. He came out, can a civilian, if you're a cop,
Starting point is 00:13:20 as a civilian, can you pull out a badge? No, what? Why? Renzo's tired, he runs, like, I just got up. Can't pull up your badge, like, hey Ranzo's tired, Ranzo's like, I just got up. Can't pull up your badge, like, hey dude, watch your mouth. No. I think that's a, I don't know. No, so Ranzo went over there and Ranzo's like, like, sir,
Starting point is 00:13:32 like, everything's fine. And he goes, don't fuck it, call me, sir. Really? And then, what do you want? And then he goes to Ranzo and he was like, he's like this with his fingers. He's like, control your bitch, like this. Whoa.
Starting point is 00:13:44 And then he was like, and then he went off and his kids are crying. What is this? Double guns. No, he did double guns. Whoa, I've never seen that. Kimmy. You know, Wiley Coyote, huh?
Starting point is 00:13:53 He was like, the weirdest thing happened is like, when dude, white dude's panic, they're like, rock on, rock, he's kept saying rock on. Oh, we get to the show. No way, this is rock on. Sounds like George. No, it was George. That's when I'm having fun.
Starting point is 00:14:04 Not when I panic. He's like, oh yeah, rock on. Rock on like George. No, it was George. That's what I'm having fun. Not when I panic. He's like, oh yeah, rock on. Rock on, buddy. Rock on. Let me just wait. I was like, where did it go? How was that fighting?
Starting point is 00:14:11 Yeah, yeah. This dude was there. Everyone was there. And we could like, could not believe it. He bought rockin' in the free world, man. Yes. That kind of entered, it was. Really?
Starting point is 00:14:20 And so finally, he was young in the energy. Finally, I was like, oh, this fucking dude might actually like charge me here. So like Renzo, he just started going off. He's like her little fucking tattoos. I've tell her I hate her hat and the kids were screaming. He probably had like a three and a four year old in the back seat screaming and crying because like things are like heated, you know, but I'm like, I think I hit a nerve with, get off the Royid's Jimmy comment. Maybe it is Jimmy. I think he was so just like an angry cat.
Starting point is 00:14:51 When it was something that I knew, no. How do you know? I hope to God you don't know him. He was like, off his shed. What if he's my friend? I hope he's nuts. Then you needed to call him and be like, are you okay, Jimmy?
Starting point is 00:15:00 Why are you? That'd be embarrassing was my friend. Yeah, really embarrassing. Yeah, I would have to call him and go, Hey dude, that was on a pocket. And he'd be like, what do you mean? I go, dude, that was like my ex-girlfriend. But she's like one of my best friends.
Starting point is 00:15:15 Like that was on a pocket. Wait, would you have done in that situation if you had been there and this white dude which is raging out at me? Well, you know what word I would use. What? On a pocket. You know, you're being on a pocket.
Starting point is 00:15:30 Yeah, what if he's like, get out of here, you little fucking short limb. Well, then what I would do is was there other people around? Yeah, not too many. Damn it. You need a lot of it. I just need like a recognition. Okay, if there was. Yeah, okay, if there was, if there was.
Starting point is 00:15:45 In a place like that, in an area that when people are like, can I get a photo? What? No, honestly, how does that work? Okay. So you be the guy, you be the guy. Yeah. I'm Jimmy.
Starting point is 00:15:57 Yeah, you're Jimmy. Yeah, who do you want to be? Oh, I thought I was the fan that recognizes you. I'm the fan, I recognize you. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Check your girl, bro. And I would look around. Is there people coming? Oh my Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Check your girl, bro. And I would look around. Is there people coming?
Starting point is 00:16:07 Oh my God, oh my God, art. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Are you Bobby? Oh, yeah. Oh my God, can I take a picture with you? Yeah, please, oh my God, my kid. And I think I thought it right. I would take a photo.
Starting point is 00:16:16 And now what do you say? I would look at it. I'll hold on a sec before we continue, right? Right. And then hopefully other people would do, you know what I mean? If I get two or three of those, I would go after that, I go, oh, anyway, continue. It takes, it takes some of it away.
Starting point is 00:16:30 The wind out of their sales. Yes. Can I get a photo too, maybe? Hey, man, also, can I get a photo? Well, what are you on? Yeah, so you're more about diverting the thing. And I would just be like, so like, oh, it doesn't matter, dude, who cares who I am? Or what I've done, dude, you know, like, you're being about diverting the thing. And I would just be like so like, oh, it doesn't matter, dude, who cares who I am?
Starting point is 00:16:47 Or what I've done, dude, you know, like, you're being a jerk, jerk, I'm a regular human being, and you're being a fuck face. More photos, more photos. I'm gonna be like, excuse me for a second, dude. Right? I go, anyway, I've been a lot of things, dude. A Google me, dude.
Starting point is 00:17:01 Oh, no, say that. Oh, that's very, that's Google me, dude. I don't think that's a move, move. Why? Like, do you know who I am is not the move? No, but Google me, is that not good? No, but then someone else has to say it. Someone's like, yeah, Google me.
Starting point is 00:17:12 Yeah, I'll be that. The fan has to. But you don't fucking know who you are. And then I only could turn you into a goat. Don't say that. Yes, that's the move. Right, right. Even though I wanted to say that,
Starting point is 00:17:20 that's the move. Don't say that. Well, like, what if I pull up my phone right? That's how to pocket, don't say that. It's like, I pull up my phone. I was like, not a pocket, don't say that. It's what I do. I pull up my phone. I was like, sir, do you know you're speaking to the star of kicking at old school?
Starting point is 00:17:29 Ooh, interesting take. Interesting take. Would you then turn your age onto me? Yes. I think at that point, I would turn to you and go, what the fuck? You know what I mean? Yeah, that would be not be good.
Starting point is 00:17:45 Do you know you're talking to the star of, where's my, what was it? Oh, she came to do the job. I can't even do that. I can't even do that. It's a, what? Where's my? What, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no What is the movie that he is so ashamed of that he was in the cover of but only had to learn? I know one of this. What is it called?
Starting point is 00:18:07 There's bro in it. Oh bro what happened? Bro what happened? That's the movie. It's the dude from bro what happened. Excuse me sir do you know you're speaking to Bobbie Lee the star of bro what happened and I pull up the poster? Yeah at that point it would change.
Starting point is 00:18:25 The whole thing would change, and my anger would come to you now. No, what would you say to me? I go, what the fuck, Laila? Are these sick bad friends or talk about or something? I'm a hardcore fan, I know I've seen it. A bro what happened? Who else is in bro what happened?
Starting point is 00:18:38 I only see you. Who else? Who else is in bro what happened? Good reversal, Laila. I only see you. I, my eyes are only glued to you. Oh, can I tell you, I don't know if I, Harlan Williams pisses me off.
Starting point is 00:18:52 Okay. I might have to start a war with Karlin Williams. Nice is guy in the world. So nice. But he pissed me off, dude. He pissed me off. I'm sorry. On a pocket when he did,
Starting point is 00:19:04 that's the last time I say it today. What I say is that, so the last year, I see Harlan all the time. Greg, I love him, he's my brother. And he goes, hey, buddy, he always call me Sarah Silverman or whatever. And he goes, everybody Sarah Silverman's here, I walk up, and I would just giggle about it, right?
Starting point is 00:19:22 And he would say stuff like, how's the hemisphere or whatever? You know, he's a random guy. I'm gonna say, yeah. I've never been to the hemisphere. My point is, is that. So, but the last year he's been going, day body, you know, I'm directing a movie.
Starting point is 00:19:34 Every time I see him, I'm directing a movie. Tell me, tell me about the movie. Then two days ago he goes, hey buddy, I'm on set, you know what I mean? And Russell Peters and Jamie Kennedy miss you. You know, I just told them that you know what I mean, and Russell Peters and Jamie Kennedy miss you, you know, I just told them that you were going to do the movie, but you couldn't do it. And I'm like, you know, I never got an offer, right? Because I know, but I called you a couple of times and pick up. I go, that's different from, right, than giving me an
Starting point is 00:20:00 offer, right? What's so funny? It's like a fly away. You know what I mean? I'm telling me that I'm not in the movie. Well, maybe he really wants, it was like a friendship test to be like, I only want my real friends in the movie. That's how you book movies now? Maybe, maybe. Maybe Harlan does it that way.
Starting point is 00:20:24 Well, I've done his podcast couple times. He's done mine a couple times. I mean, he's a friendship test. That's insane. What did he say when you told him that? He goes, well, you didn't pick up. And I was like, that's how, I didn't know that's how people do it. I thought, honestly, this is how I thought you got booked for a movie. Your agent calls you and says, hey, do you want an offer for a movie?
Starting point is 00:20:46 Which is the way they've been doing it, just the beginning of time, right? That's how I thought was the way it worked. I didn't know it was like, oh, if I missed a call, you know what I mean? It was some random call that I can miss a movie. Yeah, yeah. I think so.
Starting point is 00:21:03 I think he should have been more like, if he really wanted to you in it, more explicit. Like, hey, I'm doing. I think he should have been more like if he really wanted you in it more explicit. Like, hey, I'm doing this thing and I want you in it. You would have absolutely like been like, of course. And it already my mind goes into like negative places. Like everywhere. Yeah. I don't like that. No, it makes me sad. Oh, oh, middle. Ditto. Tolstoy is gay. He's very gay for real. I'll tell you why. When we in Colossus first date in,
Starting point is 00:21:28 yes. Tolstoy used to sleep on me. Mm-hmm. Not a rack. Please, please, that's a go there. Yeah. But he would just look at me. You know how you can tell?
Starting point is 00:21:38 There's something beyond like. Yeah. When somebody looks at you, it's like something else, another, like, otherworldly. The at you, it's like something else, another, like, other worldly. The way you look at me sometimes. But I always equate it to you being high.
Starting point is 00:21:52 True, true. Yeah. Just got right here. It gave me that look too early on. And otherworldly, you know what I mean? How do you know he's gay from just a look? No, because you told me that he didn't like guys. No, he doesn't like anyone.
Starting point is 00:22:07 Anybody. But when an animal likes me and then they say that the animal doesn't like anybody, I always acute it to be a sexable. But maybe I'm wrong. No, maybe he's just like really bonds with you because you know what? He is truly like an autistic dog. He's a very special guy, he gets very overstimulated, he's very bright. Speaking of autistic, can I show you something? I'm going to show you something
Starting point is 00:22:31 insane. Can the audience know this? Yeah, yeah. What? You're less walking up right now. I want to go get them. I know that you're allergic to cats. There's no cats down here. That's cool. We have some upstairs and so I just, I bought this. It's nice of you. I'm actually taking, I'm actually taking,
Starting point is 00:22:53 Rebus Negro. Whoa, what is that word? Oh, wait, the earphones just came on. I thought that was an Asian Regis Phil Filman. He's a few. Yeah, that's how they say Regis Phil., uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, we just feel, we just need, it is called Regis Negro.
Starting point is 00:23:09 What is it? It's like, uh, I think it's a berry. It's like a blackberry root that is in, it's basically my wife when I was in Italy. Mm. There was this stuff.
Starting point is 00:23:19 She's like, she had a cat and she's like, if you're gonna live with me, you're like the cats part of the deal and I've always been super allergic and she's like, no, that's live with me, you're like the cat's part of the deal. And I've always been super allergic. And she's like, no, that's just your neuroses. It's not real, which anyone who doesn't have allergies thinks that allergies are made up. And so she said, take rebus negro,
Starting point is 00:23:35 which is like a plant extract. And they're like, if you take it every day, dissolve it in water in the morning, you actually get used to it and you're fine in a block store and it completely worked. And I got allergy drugs. Really? This is a really good test because I had her mom send it from Italy because it
Starting point is 00:23:50 couldn't find, there were like different brands here like I have to get the brand that they sell in Italy. So they, we got it on Amazon, shipped it or the mom shipped it over and I've been taking it. So this will actually be really good test. Well, I've been taking it. I started like three weeks ago. I went back on it. Wait, so okay. I've been allergic to cats, mildly allergic to cats my whole life, but we had three, we have three cats. And I always thought kind of just like being lactose intolerant.
Starting point is 00:24:15 I thought if I had just a little bit of cat exposure every day, that somehow I would build a tolerance. It worked, right? Did it? Oh, it worked. It worked. That? Did it? Oh, it worked! It worked! It's been years, and I'm still itchy. I still get the congestion every day. I had the congestion.
Starting point is 00:24:30 It feels like I try to describe it like it feels like you're wearing a sweater inside out, like in your chest and your sign. It's like you can't scratch in too many places. So I bonded with the cat. We made friends, of course, now she wants to get a cat. You're a must've. What do you think? Thank you, Bobby.
Starting point is 00:24:44 I've never seen it so thick before. I've had it. Oh, you never had no the must delicious It's like oh my god. Yeah, it's a time. You're so cute growing the cookie. I always thought you were cute then Not in a header away, you know, yeah, no, yeah, adorable kind of way. Well, is that weird? I always thought he was cute Weird I'll take it I'll take what I get it's weird. I was like, why are you laughing? Because you're looking at what are you laughing for? Affirmation. Why is it weird? I'll take what I can. It's weird. So let's introduce.
Starting point is 00:25:09 Yeah, introduce. Da da da da da. Eli Roth. That's it. No. That was your name. That's my theme song. Yeah, it's great.
Starting point is 00:25:19 Eli Roth is a director and actor. He produces. He loves animals. He loves, well, we'll get into it later, right? But he's a, what do you call it when somebody's like a, he's, you know, campaigning for an animal? Advocate? Advocate.
Starting point is 00:25:36 Or activist, shark divist. Actor. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You love the sharks, buddy. I do love the sharks. What's up with them? It's interesting, because sharks get a bad rap, obviously. I love jaws and it was like one of the reasons I wanted to sharks, buddy. I do love the sharks. What's up with them? It's interesting, because sharks get a bad rap. Obviously, I love jaws, and it was like,
Starting point is 00:25:47 one of the reasons I wanted to make horror movies. I've been in New England, so I was really afraid of the ocean. And then I went on Shark Week. They set me diving with sharks, and it will completely, it's one of those moments that truly changes your perspective in a second. I got in the water with them. First of all, none of them recognized me,
Starting point is 00:26:04 which is like, he did it? No. The ones in the hostel? None of in the water with them. First of all, none of them recognized me, which is like, did it? No. The ones in the hostel? None of them. None of them. The stars, there's the stars. Nothing. So there's that.
Starting point is 00:26:12 Once you can get over that. No, I realized that they were much more like dogs. They had personalities. No, I don't want to say that they're sweet little cuddly animals, but I couldn't believe how intelligent they were. And they were super aware of me. And I just spent days diving with them. And I got to the point where I was so comfortable with them,
Starting point is 00:26:28 I was feeding them by hand. And I was like, they have, we are not, yeah, that's me. And that's me with the tiger shark in Tahiti. And with this tiger shark, like you have to hold your breath, see the bubbles on blowing? If they see that, a lot of times, they'll just get scared and swim away.
Starting point is 00:26:42 But this shark I spent about an hour with, I mean until your air runs out, you have about 50 minutes of air, so an hour of air. But that shark looks like a fan, I'll just get scared and swim away. But this shark I spent about an hour with, I mean until your air runs out, you got 50 minutes of air, so an hour of air. But that shark looks like a fan, I'll just be honest with you. Yeah, that shark was fanning it. He saw in Glow's spasors with one there. But it's beautiful because I realized,
Starting point is 00:26:54 and then I started learning that we were killing 100 million a year, and I was like, what the hell, how many miles is it possible? Eight, there's no reason. No, and it's money. Because someone in the 1960s in China said, Oh, look, in 800, 100, China.
Starting point is 00:27:08 What's that? This is where it started. You fucker. It's everybody, though. It's China started buying it. Never got it. Take it back. Every country in the world.
Starting point is 00:27:16 But I'm telling you, China in the 1960s started a gimmick at hotels where they're like, in the year 800, the emperor wants a hit a shark. So you can eat like the emperor. And so people started doing it as like a wedding gimmick. Now, shark has no taste. It's like basically like eating fishing line. So sharks are like the doctors of the ocean.
Starting point is 00:27:34 They actually, their function in nature is to keep the ocean clean and to keep the water clean. They eat the second dying fish. So with, and they, and they stopped the algae from spreading. So when you have sharks in an ocean imbalance, the ocean's clear, the oxygen gets out, people can swim, we're already seeing, we're killing between 18 and 30,000 sharks an hour.
Starting point is 00:27:51 An hour? An hour. And I made a documentary called Finn that's on HBO Max to explain. So I was like, how is this possible? What is the purpose? And then I looked at the soup and there's literally no taste and there's a vegetarian alternative.
Starting point is 00:28:02 And I'm like, why do you eat this? And they go, because it's expensive, the shark meat is so incredibly toxic. And they sell it in supermarkets. It's untested. So pregnant women eat it, kids eat it. Like people get, it's neuro toxins, it causes impotence and dementia. It's the worst thing you can eat. Now here in America, you're like, well, that's China. Well, we do it. Everyone, you know, Indonesia, Spain, everyone is selling their fins all over the world. And Australia, they're eating flake. they change all the names, and then there are all these rodeos.
Starting point is 00:28:26 They just had this thing go on deep sea guardians on their Instagram, they had this thing bloody September, all month people were wiping them out in the coast of Mexico, and then there's the Alabama deep sea fish radio, which gets sponsored from I Heart Radio, Coca-Cola, and it's kids just like dead sharks, and it's literally for prize money and likes on Facebook. We are taking our apex predator that keeps the ocean in balance and they're doing it because
Starting point is 00:28:51 these motherfuckers just want to look cool on Facebook. I swear to God. You can move these about that. I love them. So tell me about your shark experience. In my out of face, I want to know. I had a guy with one English breakfast. He was in the North Shore.
Starting point is 00:29:05 We were in the North Shore and we took a class. So the rules, you don't lock eyes. No, you do lock eyes. I mean, you do lock eyes. Yeah, I was in. I took one class. I took one class, right? You know, you slash with in front of them like that.
Starting point is 00:29:19 No, no, no. Oh, then you don't slash. All right, you don't splash. You don't want to imitate a fish. Oh, you don't. You know, because they're they're they All right. You don't splash. You don't want to imitate a fish. Oh, you don't. You know, because they're perfect hunters. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:28 So they don't want to spend the energy to go after a healthy fish because the fish are too fast. Like, I saw great whites with sea lions swimming on their tails. The healthy fish, they're never going to catch it. But a sick and dying one, they know I'm going to get that for lunch. Yeah. So what they're actually doing is stopping disease from spreading. But when you're splashing around, you're sort of mimicking the motion of dying fish.
Starting point is 00:29:47 It's like a dinner bell, so like I spear fish. Just roll quick. Just roll quick. All right, you know what sharks don't like? When you're in the ocean, you have a felt pen and a jaws DVD. And go, can you sign? Because they're like, oh, nice.
Starting point is 00:30:00 Because the felt pen is, because as soon as you open it, it just makes you feel like you're in the ink block. Yeah, ink block, yeah, and you try to do it. It's just I know I tried it the ink blood It ain't blood. Yeah, and you try to do it. You know it's like that's not the truck You need like a good silver in jaws. It was a mechanical. Yeah, right? So they're like I wasn't let's say one Why I walked out of the street people go hey? I love you on hangover Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, because they think I'm Dr. Ken Jeong right wow yeah, and I go that's not me It's the same thing anyone to move on go ahead great? Yeah, and I go, that's not me. It's the same thing. Anyone that's gonna move on, go ahead. Great. Yeah, I mean,
Starting point is 00:30:25 I think that we did a lot of racism in the shark, thinking that they're mechanical. This is limited. Yes, anyway. It's a huge problem in the shark community. Who else is involved in the sharks? No, like, celebrity is like, you know, Leo. Well, you can see what Leo
Starting point is 00:30:42 exec produced the documentary with me. He's a big shark reporter. Is it because you want to now be a shark advocate? Everybody can. Oh, you have to listen. You're convincing me. They become a shark advocate. You should.
Starting point is 00:30:53 You should. It'd be great. And so that's, I don't know where you're going. I don't know where you're going with that line of questioning. I'm offended later. Was I wrong? What? About you wanting to be convinced?
Starting point is 00:31:02 He's convincing me. Yeah. I've become a shark advocate. Here's the me. Yeah. He's become a sharp advocate. Here's the thing, it shouldn't even be a question. It should be like killing gorillas or something. Like we're all advocates of it. Like why would you? Do they kill gorillas?
Starting point is 00:31:12 Well, they did. They used to hunt them. They were told they were monsters. Whales. Remember the whaling industry? In the 1960s, the whole world got together instead of we don't stop killing the whales. Because these are not monsters.
Starting point is 00:31:21 If we don't stop right now, there's not going to be any left. And they did that with humans, right? And we wiped out all the Filipinos, and little hospitals, and all the hospitals. Why do Filipinos? Why do people have to go? Who's running this thing? That's what I mean, think about it,
Starting point is 00:31:33 and now those terms. I get it now. How do you always go for my people? No, you can just two of them here. I mean, I'm just, okay, I'm a Korean. Yeah, go Korean. Yeah, if you kill all the Koreans, they'll be like, no spot no kpop true
Starting point is 00:31:45 Right and the people are like happy with I never get a body scrub Anyway, that was just want to make a point with humans, but I guess that was the wrong that was yeah, you're right killing the sharks Like killing all their doctors. That's what it is. Oh Or the like if you don't you know, yeah in ocean, it's like, you know, it's like San Francisco. No offense in San Francisco. You know what I mean? Like there's just open-air drug use and all sorts of things. Yeah, yeah. The sharks keep the ocean clean. Is it working though? At least you see a little bit of a... Here's what it is. I want to be the crazy extremist that you put out there that pushes the over-to-nwindow or everyone's like,
Starting point is 00:32:22 well, we're never gonna get those laws passed, but at least I'm introducing the concept of don't kill sharks. So when I go crazy on Instagram, people are like, well, these fishermen are going to go, go fuck yourself, but you know what? Activists, the guys at Deep Sea Guardian's, we're all reposting each other now. And we got a whole bunch of tournaments canceled because the people just didn't want to get canceled. They don't want their business. And it's like not worth it. So we're going after these. And the problem is they'll go say, hey, this is for charity.
Starting point is 00:32:47 They go to some mom and pop fishing place. And then a bunch of people go, we're going to destroy you on your help. Please don't support this. This is destroying the ecosystem. And it's off their ego. This is completely inedible. And then they go, all right.
Starting point is 00:32:58 And then the tournaments get canceled. But there's still the Alabama DPC fish we wrote. But the fishing industry is so powerful. And there's so much money. But what we need to do is if we all speak up, it introduces the concept that sharks are not there to eat us, that more people are killed by vending machines than sharks every year. More armed.
Starting point is 00:33:14 What? Vending machines. Remember those? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, how do they kill? Okay, this here's the machine. I don't know. Because I thought about this.
Starting point is 00:33:22 No, I hate them. Okay, you're that. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. No, I hate them. Okay, you're that. No, not a sending machine, I like. All right, you just, you're, you want, you want those Mike and Iks or that's Agnut bar and it gets stuck. What do people do? They shake the machine and the thing falls on them. I believe this because more people die.
Starting point is 00:33:36 More people die from refrigerator, remember? Right, more people die from vending machines. It's like, you know, 13 people a year. And the sharks bite in the sleep. Those are changed. They are not eating you. They'll bite and then leave. And yeah, some of those 13, man, but it's glad we lost them almost. I mean, because it's like, you get about there. 13 what?
Starting point is 00:33:54 I mean, you get you get you get you get you get you get you get you get by the vanning machine. Yeah, well, the vending machine people made. Yeah, it's like I got killed by a butterfly. Sharks are not intentionally attacking. Obviously, there's things you can do to be, you know, proactive. Careful of not intentionally attacking. Obviously there's things you can do to be proactive, careful when you're, there's certain hours that sharks feed and they have shark spotters in South Africa that'll say up, there's a shark,
Starting point is 00:34:12 everyone gets out of the water, the shark passes, they go back, you've been in the, all of us have been in the water much closer to sharks than we realize they are there all the time, but we've all swam with them. We just, they don't want anything to do with the salt out from it. And I did the great white
Starting point is 00:34:25 They shark that yeah with the thing. Yeah, I Know why you're laughing. What the thing with the thing? No, I was in the age I walk in oh that cave Yeah, and then my friend Ian bag vomited in the water, which was he's a common weird. It's weird He puked his regulator you guys just don't breathe in no he went and vomited was and then he had a It went on the boat. Oh, they guys just don't breathe in. No, he went and vomit. And then he went on the boat. Oh, they're just on the very edge. He's Canadian, the wage. So they're on the boat.
Starting point is 00:34:48 Canadians are we, yeah. You know, Canadians, but my point is, is that they're weaker. But anyway, good people though. And nice people. They're nice people. They're nice people. Very nice. I know, but it's just like, come on.
Starting point is 00:34:58 You know what I mean? Anyway, you're in a cage. But my point is, is that, and the way great, went in front of me, right? And he did a little. Yeah, a wink at me, you know what I'm saying? And I was like, it was a real beautiful, you're having a moment with a dinosaur. These are the oldest, they've been here for,
Starting point is 00:35:13 it was amazing, since 400, for 400 million years, it's a vet chart. But they're now, they're not gonna survive this next extinction. We could have a situation in five, 10 years, where they're so far in a few between, because they replicate like kind of like humans, they, some of them take 11 years to reach sexual maturity,
Starting point is 00:35:28 their pops, you know, they'll have like seven or eight pops, they're not like laying eggs, they breed live, and they take a long, the gestation is a long time, they travel all over the world, so there's nowhere to really protect them, because they move around, and we're just killing them all. And we've got, and anyone listening right now in the hands or polite, I was gonna make it. I was gonna make it. I was gonna do it. What the fuck is it with you, a Canadian? and we're just killing them all. And everyone listening right now, Canadians are polite.
Starting point is 00:35:45 I was gonna make... Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, what the fuck is it with you, a Canadian? I was making a joke. No, I'm saying, no, they're polite. I was gonna make a Canadian Thanksgiving. Where, I was gonna do it. Where the killer just stabs you and goes, sorry.
Starting point is 00:35:58 That's funny. I might do it. Yeah, they'll do it. So you did a movie called Thanksgiving? I did. Thanks for coming out. It's coming out in a month. November 17th.
Starting point is 00:36:10 Thanks for three weeks, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Or time, obviously horror. It is a horror movie. It's a good old meat and potatoes slasher movie with killer and a mask and killing, you know, killed in very fun creative ways. Wow. I wanted it to be like, you know, this old school like my bloody Valentine, Halloween,
Starting point is 00:36:25 happy birthday to me, scream, that kind of vibe, but doing new one with a new killer. Yeah, so it looks good. Wow, looks great. It's really fun. Oh my God, let me ask you something about this, like that slasher, that slasher. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:38 I bet you money that in pre-production, when you're developing the story, yes, that mask must be sewn, I mean, how long do you take to get that mask? It's a great question. We know this. We were really looking at, you know, because everyone's like, it's gotta be scary,
Starting point is 00:36:54 it's gotta be scary, but in the plot of the movie, it's Plymouth, Massachusetts, and it's like, from, it's left over mass from the 400 year celebration. The Quaid Accentenary, which was 2020, but nobody went, so it was COVID, so they have all these masks, and everyone in town is wearing them. So it can't be like a terrifying mask, but it's got to be unnerving and unsettling in your context
Starting point is 00:37:13 when someone puts it on, starts killing people, because then you look around and everybody's got them. So what is it about the mask? How do you come up with the mask? So we did some that were like really scary looking, and then we're like, well, why would you give this out? It doesn't make sense in the story. And then we looked up, because why would you give this out? It doesn't make sense in the story. And then we looked up,
Starting point is 00:37:26 because it's based on the first governor of New Plymouth colony, and the governor on the Mephawar was named John Carver. Whoa. So you can Google John Carver, or as we call him the movie John Cava. Yeah, that's, it's a slash movie with the assholes.
Starting point is 00:37:39 So John Cava, and we're like, and I'll let, it makes up John Carter was a Disney movie. Right, John Carter. It's not too much of a bar. And that worked movie. Right, John Carter. It's not too much. And that worked not too well. Not too much.
Starting point is 00:37:47 We did, yeah. John Carver. But can I say, I like to John Carver. Yeah, there was supposed to be three of them. And I really did like it. And I felt bad for the actor. John Carver. No, the main guy.
Starting point is 00:37:58 Taylor. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because it kind of shifted its career into a different direction. Anyway, watch John Carver. Gone. So John, well, yeah. This is plus. So we, so we looked at this painting. There's Anyway, watch John Carter gone. So John, well, yeah. This is a plus. So we looked at this painting.
Starting point is 00:38:07 There's one painting of John Carver. That's the only image of him that was recorded from that time. He was, by all accounts, probably a very nice person. I know he was the first governor, and we took that mask and just kind of did a variation and kind of replicated it. And then just started doing some weird things to it
Starting point is 00:38:23 at a certain point in the movie. That's John Carver So we're like okay, if we do a creepy mass. He's a real person. He's live in Echo Park. I know I see that guy in Echo Park. He works at Mario and he's a breeze. I see a dude near a far far all the time man. It's crazy. Yeah, so John Carver so we took that and then we're like let's okay We can't just print that, but let's start sculpting it.
Starting point is 00:38:47 And there's, you know, my production designer, Peter Mahayichuk, we tried like five different, or 10 different masks, and you 3D print them, and then you just look at the pilgrim hat, and then the shape, and you start to get what they call the silhouette, where we're like, okay, you think of, Freddie Kru, you're thinking of the knives, to go Jason with the hockey mask.
Starting point is 00:39:04 Now Jason, remember, he didn't get the mask till number part three. You know, you're thinking of the knives, think of Jason with the hockey mask. Now, Jason didn't, remember, he didn't get the mask till number part three. You know, it was in between part two, he had the bag on his head. It's good. But between part two and three, he went to the horror monster gym and put on 300 pounds of muscle.
Starting point is 00:39:14 And he's like, you know, cause he's a skinny kid in the first one. And the second one, he's just a dude with the bag on his head. But by five to 13, part three. Did they justify it in the movie? Why is it so thick or not? No, you just assumed that he just got yoked.
Starting point is 00:39:25 In the next group, there's like gotta be some kind of serial killer gym that they go to between. Oh yeah, yeah, there's gotta be. And gotta be fucking roared out and fucking, you know, haxquats. And then he, by the time that he's killing someone, and he picks up the mask and puts it on
Starting point is 00:39:40 in the middle of the movie. But now we only think of that. So we're like, what is our, what is the silhouette, what is the character gonna be, what is it, and you shoot camera tests with it. And it's a little, you know, we always say it's like a faith-based system that you just like hope to God, it works out, because you're telling everyone,
Starting point is 00:39:55 oh, it's gonna be scary, it's gonna be great, it's gonna be great. And then people look at the mask, and go, well, this isn't scary enough, I know, but when he has the ax on and the thing, and they're like, okay, and then they finally put it on, and we did the camera test, and we're like, okay, all right, this is great.
Starting point is 00:40:06 But we had like three or four or five different masks. So you try them on, and then we try to think where he like, at a certain point the mask gets burned, so there's like a whole sequence with a burn mask, which was really unsettling because it drooped. So, he like, why it was fun? Why horror? Why not?
Starting point is 00:40:21 I know, I know why not, but I'm just saying, you, you're so good at it. Did something happen to as a kid or? Yeah, watch horror movies. I was, you know. I mean, that's all you watch. I mean, I love the genre, you know what I mean? I think, I think,
Starting point is 00:40:37 hereditary was so scary. Very scary movie. Did you like that? I did like it. Yeah, you know what I mean? I do know. Is he nice? Yeah, super nice.
Starting point is 00:40:44 I know you. I had him on History of Horror. We had him on the show. Oh, that's really no. I do know. Yeah. Is he nice? Yeah, super nice. I know you I had him on on a history of horror We had him on oh that's right great great great conversation. Yeah Jordan too, right? Yeah, Jordan's on this. Yeah, Jordan's awesome Good guy. So yeah, no, we look I I mean I grew up in a super normal nice Childhood everything in superbea my dad's a psychoanalyst professor at Harvard and psychiatry and mother She was a teacher and there was a painter, and then I was like, what if, but we grew up. I swear to God, it was hearing about the Nazis, and my dad would be like, you know,
Starting point is 00:41:12 we'd be, my mom, it didn't, it would be like, you finished that, oh, you're Jewish. We're Jewish, I am, and they were like, if you don't finish, do you know, if we were in Poland, you'd be in an oven right now, finish your food. Like, the amount of time as a you're like, what the amount? What the fuck, wow.
Starting point is 00:41:25 The amount of time as a kid, my parents at the dinner table, casually spent talking about the Holocaust and selection and the Nazis would show up and get like, about like you have to understand what the world or two was and what we're up against and what anti-Semitism is. And I realize that every Jewish kid sort of had this
Starting point is 00:41:43 to the point where it's not normalized, but they're just like, you do not pretend, you do not sugarcoat any of this. This is what happens. And so I would always think like, what if I have this perfect life and like people show up like a chainsock and then you start watching it, like I talk to, you know, like women are the biggest audience,
Starting point is 00:42:00 teen girls, the biggest audience for horror movies, and you think like, well, if you're a woman and a man, the man is going to have a physical advantage naturally in a situation so the woman's going to watch, you know, how do I beat him? And that's why the movies are good. It's like, it's like, the woman, the man that could physically overpower her and has a weapon and the woman outsmarts him and gets him. So they're almost, and I was watching things, they were like, a leather face showed up. How would I get out?
Starting point is 00:42:23 Where do I hide? What do I do? Maybe, do you identify as a teenage girl sometimes? Is that why you love bars? What do you say that? Because that's like the biggest audience for horror movies. I maybe. I mean, I never thought about it that way, but. Smaller statue, how do I get away?
Starting point is 00:42:38 I'm stronger than I look. You're very strong. Yeah, yeah. But first of all, I've never seen a movie where an Asian is even, the only horror movie I saw in it, what is, I know what movie, the centipede, he was the centipede.
Starting point is 00:42:52 The front of the train, right, was an Asian guy, but that's the first time I went, oh, Asian guy, and then he kills himself. What a pussy. I know, that's a very heroic move. Okay, anyway, yeah, but he kills himself after he shits in her mouth. What is dope and hilarious.
Starting point is 00:43:09 Like, let's give him his moment of glory. Like, it wasn't just like, oh, I'm a centiped now. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He's like, and he's like, feed her. Yeah, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. The fight, how was the Japanese dude like, well, how would I do that?
Starting point is 00:43:23 That's a good acting moment, no? How would you act that? No, when you're doing, you know you have the clue. And that's what I was trying to do. The camera's on me, right? Yes. I know that I've been holding it because I know that there's a human being attached to it. So into it, right?
Starting point is 00:43:36 And right. So I mean, in my mind, I would probably say something. Yeah. Sorry. For a few minutes. Yeah. And then you go. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I got a poop-po. Yeah, sorry Yeah, as it's Here
Starting point is 00:43:46 Yeah, yeah, I got a poop Like a kid like a kid how do I do as a kid right she's like That's it that was a great moment I'm actually pretty good right now. Yeah pretty good right right. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Anyway, you could be a centipede head. I see potentially. I see potentially. You would cast me that. If you did, you would send a piece.
Starting point is 00:44:12 Yes, I'm gonna tell Tom Six, the director. Oh, right. A fourth sequence or whatever. Yeah. Bobbie Lee wants in as a head. Yes, and he. Not like middle back, not like near the front. Yeah, he's front row centipede.
Starting point is 00:44:27 And dude, I would audition. I would like, I would hire John to it, right? Just get behind there, dude. Oh, to do it. Dude, I would do it so real. You do like a method audition. I would, you're like, this is what I would do. I would do it your mouth, dude, for the,
Starting point is 00:44:40 this is not about you, this is not about me. This is just for the role. It's for the role, It's art, dude. You have to do it, dude. It's for art. Anyway, so you love horror. You're a great director. I love that, you know, though, I love the movie
Starting point is 00:44:52 that you did on Netflix with Kate and Jack Black, the clock, what's it called? The House of the Clock in His Walsh, which is funny that it was made for Ambulin and Universal and Steven Spielberg's company and was released in theaters worldwide. But you just made it seem like it was a little Netflix movie. Thanks, Bobby. That YouTube premium movie you made.
Starting point is 00:45:12 You're like, you know that movie you did on Facebook? Why? Great. That movie I watched on my phone. I was on an airplane. Let me. Let me. That's that. No, it's on air. Let me regroup. Let me regroup. Let me regroup. That's not gonna happen.
Starting point is 00:45:27 No, it's okay. A lot of people see my stuff on Netflix. That's a true. You can give me another shot at it, right? No, the house of the clock in the 12. There's a kids movie. Movie for... Yeah, I know.
Starting point is 00:45:35 Can I thank you? Yeah, yeah, yeah. It was a great movie. Thank you. I appreciate it. That's all I want to say. We had a great time making it. I mean, you know, Blanche at Jack Black.
Starting point is 00:45:43 It's an interesting because Kate brought out the best in, I think, Jack's acting and Jack brought out the funniest parts of Kate. I mean, Kate is hilarious. I know because when we're in Hungary, I know. Some of the dinners we had, she's so funny. I remember the first time I met you. I was so nervous. Really why?
Starting point is 00:46:00 I didn't have a mustache or anything. Tell the audience, like explain. We worked together in a far away place. Yeah, we got. Is that good? Yeah, that's good. Because I had auditioned and I never met you. Hmm.
Starting point is 00:46:15 What do you mean? Because it was COVID, that's right. It was a... It was COVID, I never met you. But can I tell you about what happened at the table read? Okay. It shouldmy happened. Sure.
Starting point is 00:46:26 And it could have been a fucking disaster for me. You die a rear or something? No, no. We didn't amount. So this is what I said. You're not aware of this. You're not aware of this, but it would have been a fucking, I would have been throwing out Hollywood, I think.
Starting point is 00:46:44 Okay. This sounds great. How did I miss this? I would have been throwing out Hollywood, I think. This sounds great, how did I miss this? I never told you. Why not? I'm telling you now, okay? All right. All right. So, a week before we did the table read, right?
Starting point is 00:46:55 Because everyone, you know, there's all these stars that everyone's around the world. Because we did it through Zoom. That's right, we did. We did, right? So, one of your guys calls me and goes, yo, the home movie's not casted, so you're gonna have to read these parts.
Starting point is 00:47:10 Yes, other parts, then the parts I'm gonna write. So you give me 20 names. 20, right? That was my decision. But so, I was like, well, how'd Bobby do it? He's great, he can do anything. That's character. I know, I love it.
Starting point is 00:47:23 So all week long, I memorized every line. Oh no. Yeah, you can read it. You know, it's a table reading out of table recycling. I know. But I was so nervous, I didn't want to fuck up. So a hired guy came over all day long. I did other people's, right?
Starting point is 00:47:40 It was a lot of parts. So. I was the hired guy. I didn't get it. That's right, you was here. I had no idea. You get to work. You the hired guy. I didn't get it. That's why you was here. I had no idea you'd be told to do that. It gets worse. So one minute before we start, I text a guy and I go,
Starting point is 00:47:53 are you sure I'm doing all these parts? And he goes, oh no, no, no, no, you're only doing these two. But if I hadn't asked Eli, you would have been reading somebody else's thing while you would have been talking. And talking for the same jumping in. Same time. Yeah, yeah, yeah, and it would have been so fucking embarrassing.
Starting point is 00:48:11 That would have been great. I'm so sad. It would have been so embarrassing. So sad that that didn't happen. Because everyone would have been like, is there an issue with Bobby? Like, is he, like with Bobby? I know! Is he, like, he was cast as this part, but now he's reading everyone else's thing.
Starting point is 00:48:29 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Why is he doing that? And now, yeah, yeah. You'd be like this on set? Like, I know he wants extra parts, but you can't, like, you can't really like play the two people in the same movie. I know.
Starting point is 00:48:40 I know. I know. It seems weird. It would have been a disaster. I imagine. That's so great. I would have been, dude. And that's the one I know. It seems weird. It would have been a disaster. That's so great. I would have been, dude, and that's the one I meant. I know I was a fan of your acting. I know, and I would have met you.
Starting point is 00:48:51 Dude, I remember them, you know, I went to set, and I went to meet you, and you pulled me aside, and we had like a 10 minute talk. And as soon as you opened your mouth, I was like, okay, I'm good. You were so like, you know, you just took all the fears away from me. No, that's great.
Starting point is 00:49:10 Well, look, everyone always has that little bit of nervousness, but you cast people for a reason because you trust them and you sort of trust your instinct and you're like, you don't know, nobody knows. It's all just like, it's this kind of, like I said, a faith-based system. You just think, yeah, this will probably work, but you just have a sense.
Starting point is 00:49:25 I was like, and I'd seen you in love, and I'd seen obviously Mad TV, there's so many things I'd seen you in. And I was like, I fucking love Bobby Lee. And weirdly, I wasn't watching or like listening to the podcast, I only like knew you from acting. Wow. From acting stuff.
Starting point is 00:49:39 Wow. So I was just like, Bobby Lee, you were just one of my favorites. Oh. And I was like, we need to write a role for Bobby Lee. I actually wrote it. I was like, and they were like, what is this character? Right? I have this idea for this part.
Starting point is 00:49:54 And it's really fun. I was like, it should be Bobby Lee. I think just putting him in this movie in this world will be so much fun. So when the strike is resolved and things are done, we can talk about it more often. But it was a pleasurable experience. But you were great to work with Bobby, really.
Starting point is 00:50:07 Thank you. And it was a dreamy experience. And I want to just, I just want to say that out loud. You know what I like that. Thank you. I'm not nervous anymore. I'm not nervous anymore. I look at you and I'm like, uh, you're like,
Starting point is 00:50:18 you're like, now when you open your mouth, I think I could even shit in that mouth. Not in 70. Not nervous at all. I want to stage fright. I want to talk. Words are boring. Wordworm.
Starting point is 00:50:36 I want to talk about how you got into inglorious bastards. Can I talk about that or not? I guess so, but maybe it's a struck. No, no, it's the Weinstein company, which can't be struck, I know it's universal, because the Weinzines are in prison, so are they struck? Oh, yeah. Oh, you can't talk about movies that you already?
Starting point is 00:50:54 I don't know, but I will, so let's talk about it. No, but I wanna know how that happened, because it's like, you know, I had no knew as a director, but then when I saw it, first of all, I learned my favorite movies, right? And you were so good at it It's a place, but did he call you Tarantino? He called me Eli Sorry, it's right there. I liked it. I liked it. Just stupid
Starting point is 00:51:13 He said up the dumbest one. It's just gonna come out for my brain so good then that was that was really crafty terrible That was so fucking fast shame. Yeah ring and then love. That was so fucking fast. Shame. Yeah. So just, Quentin Tarantino call you? Yes, well, Quentin Tarantino and I knew each other because he'd been a big fan of my first film, Cabin Fever. Yes. And a big vocal supporter of it.
Starting point is 00:51:35 And then when we made Hostel, he was a producer on it. Wow. And he was just like, and so he put his name as Quentin Tarantino for events, changed the movie, changed the perception, it changed the opening, like ever suddenly it got, it's almost like you need an artistic credit card of someone stamping it going, I like this the way Peter Jackson gave me quotes for Cabin Fever.
Starting point is 00:51:55 So Tarantino put his name on house so we came very, very close. And my friend Jay is in it. And this is not Jay's. Yeah, my boy's in that. We like Jay and Annis. I love Jay. So we went, we became close. Yeah, my whole my boys and that, we like Jack and Nandas. I love Jack. So we went, you know, we became close.
Starting point is 00:52:06 And finally, it was like someone who could, you know, there were very few people in Hollywood that really give you straight advice and honest advice and that have been through your similar experience. You know, you have that moment where you're like, what do I do next, who do I trust, and Quentin was always such a good friend to me, like an older brother.
Starting point is 00:52:20 He's like, no, don't worry about this, don't buy a house yet, don't spend your money. He's like, he had such great advice. Wow. He goes don't worry about this, don't buy a house yet, don't spend your money. He's like, he had such great advice. Wow. He goes after Haasley goes, don't buy a house. He goes, do not buy a house. And so you can totally afford to furnish it and not work for two years.
Starting point is 00:52:33 I go, why? He goes, so many people I know, bought a house right after their first thing. And then every decision, they couldn't afford the mortgage, but every decision was based on the mortgage. The mortgage. So it's suddenly you're an employee of your house and you're not making the smart career decision. He's like after doing like a commercial,
Starting point is 00:52:49 or something, he's like a lot of it. He's like a reservoir dog's pulp fiction. He's like, I was sleeping on Scott's speakers couch. I was just crashing with friends. I had a tiny apartment. He goes, Jackie Brown is what I bought my house because I didn't want to have to be an employee. Am I after pulp fiction?
Starting point is 00:53:01 Yeah, he didn't buy a house after that. It's, I was like, what incredible. Wow. So smart anyways. So we had that kind of relationship. And then with Inglory's bastards, he's like, you know, I'd actually had him, he was writing it and he kept,
Starting point is 00:53:14 I was like his Jewish fact checker. He's like, he like, what did you come, he's like, what did you do this? He's like, what did you do? I said, give absolution to the Nazis if it meant ending the war. And I was like, nope, we would kill every single one of them. I was like, that's not a Jewish concept.
Starting point is 00:53:30 I was like, we were moneylenders. We collect interest on everything, including anger. We're more pissed about shit from 2000 years ago now. I was like, trust me, the Nazis tried to fucking wipe us off the face of the earth. There was no reasoning with them. They must all be killed. He's like, okay, I got it.
Starting point is 00:53:43 And then I was like, if you really want to understand kind of Judaism come to my Passover Seder because we always talk about the history of the Jews but always relate it to kind of modern times and all people who are enslaved and bondage and how do you, it's like that's what the Seder is about. It's about that conscientiousness of freeing anyone enslaved around the world.
Starting point is 00:53:59 And after that, Quentin was like, I think I got chapter five. And even like, he was writing it and then he's like, you know, he, it's wrote a Boston Jew. So he heard me, we were kind of doing the Boston accent from our satir, which we liked. You're like, man, it's tonight, I was at the door. Like, talking like, fucking wicked, mass halls kid.
Starting point is 00:54:15 I guess a joke. But he's like, I can't get the character out of your head. So I found out he was auditioning like every other Jewish actor, but it turns out he was auditioning them kind of against me. I sort of had it. I never auditioned for it. I had me in his head when he wrote it. And then he called me.
Starting point is 00:54:31 He's like, and everyone's like, it's Quentin gonna reach him. I don't know. So he's like, hey, man, I'm coming to, I'm going to Berlin like tomorrow. Do you want to grab dinner? I'm like, yeah, so I go to dinner with him. He's like, all right, so look,
Starting point is 00:54:42 Donald Trump has to be like a 360 degree character. This can't be like, you know, death proof for Grindhouse. We're just kind of coming to be in the fun. And he's like, I'm like, wait, so I go to dinner with him. He's like, all right, so look, Dono, it has to be like a 360 degree character. This can't be like, you know, death proof for Grindhouse. We're just kind of coming to be in the fun of getting, I'm like, wait, wait, wait, do I have the party? He goes, yeah, so listen, Dono, it's has to be like, and he goes, and I go, should we do like a toast? Yeah, cheers, listen, this can't, I need the characters' history.
Starting point is 00:54:57 I'm like, yeah, I'm fucking going method on this. I'm gonna have the whole history, the whole thing, and the first day of rehearsal. Will you nervous? No, I was prepared. I knew him, I knew Ben on set with him, we'd made movies together, I knew exactly what he wanted, and I knew I could deliver it.
Starting point is 00:55:11 So I was fucking ready. I mean, there's always that little bit of anxiety that you want to nail it, but I was fucking ready for this. I was like, if this is the only thing I ever do in my lifetime, this is it. This is my chance to help reinvent the image of Jewish men in movies. You know, I love Woody Allen, and Jerry Simon, but you know, the kind of Jewish men in movies.
Starting point is 00:55:25 You know, I love Woody Allen and Jerry Simon, but you know, the kind of Adam Sandler, the Nabushy funny, like I grew up on that. But there weren't any really fucking tough Jews in movies. It didn't exist. So I was like, this is a chance to fucking rewrite the books and create an icon that Jewish guys can go, I wanna be that.
Starting point is 00:55:40 So I was up at the four in the morning, fucking lifting weights. I was at the gym, like two hours in the morning, two hours in the morning two hours Wow, 40 you look so big in that movie. Yeah, I put out well. He also, you know, put me next to Sam Levine, which That's true. That's a good fucking. Yeah, I love Saturday. We love Sam, you know They're doing the seven cubs No, but on camera you look big, but I was I put on 45, you know pounds of sleep muscle
Starting point is 00:56:04 Wow, I was eating like every 90 minutes. I went crazy and I was like and I did the character and then he asked you. That's how you know Paul Russ for love. And that's how I know Paul. Right because Paul Russ was in that. Yeah. Paul's the best. We had a great time doing that. So that's right. So I've always been following Paul's career. So I've watched love from season one. I think it's brilliant. Wow. So underrated. Such a good show. And it was Brad. Did you know them before that? No.
Starting point is 00:56:28 Was it nice? Fucking coolest. Wow. You're waiting for the moment for him to snap? Nope. Never. Fucking nice to everybody. So psyched to be there.
Starting point is 00:56:36 Staying in character. Like hangs out with a crew. One of the, like as cool as I had hoped he would be, he was that cool. Oh my God. And you're like, and you're with him long enough that you're like at some point, that he's gonna drop the act and go, where's Mark? You know, where's my honey?
Starting point is 00:56:50 You know what I'm like? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Have some Barton Fink moment, but no, he was a bench. We loved him. Christoph Walts, it was one of those rare things where you're shooting six days a week, and then you wrap, and then everyone would wanna go out too. There was a bar that was the Tarantino theme bar.
Starting point is 00:57:04 It was about the size of this table. First night we're all like panorama, we're all at some really cool place. And then someone's like, you know, Quentin, they named a bar after you. And so we're like, what, we go there, and it's up to death proof. As far as it got inside.
Starting point is 00:57:14 It was a drink called the Rubber Duck, and there's like death proof stuff and grind house and pump fiction. And so Quentin, but the bar is like literally half the size of this room. So all of us, and they're smoking. Would they, their minds blown when you guys walked in there? I mean, I'm sure. The bar is literally half the size of this room. So all of us, and they're smoking. Would they, their minds blown when you guys walked in there?
Starting point is 00:57:27 I mean, I'm sure. No, they went in and they were like, welcome home. What do you want? They were so cool about it. They were like, because they knew we were in town shooting. Wow. They're like, Quentin, this is your living room. This is your house.
Starting point is 00:57:39 Anything you need we're here for you. And Quentin, so you could tell every night, the cast would come to me and they're like, they're like, Eli, please, there's a very cool bar. They want to get this like a very VIP for us with bottle service and blah, blah, blah. But Quentin doesn't want to go there. I think he's going to want to go back to Tarantino bar.
Starting point is 00:57:56 So like, that wrap, everyone would be like, they're like, you know, we'd wrap at like 11 o'clock. It's after six day week and we're shooting and we're going to go out and Quentin's like, why don't we just, why don't we just, and I'm like, Tarrantino bar, he's like, yeah! And then we be like, Eli, what are you doing? And acquaintance like, rubber duck shots for everyone.
Starting point is 00:58:12 It was so, wow. Wow. Oh, wow. Oh, man. And then there, you know, there's always that moment in a movie where you're like halfway through the shoot and it's like, it's sort of becomes the de facto rap party. It's like the rap party, everyone's kind of tired,
Starting point is 00:58:26 people leave, but like, there's this point where you break at the midway of a shoot, and there's just one night where it just spirals out of control, and they were shooting the scene with a telephone at the end of the B.J. Novak and Brad, and everyone's about to break for Christmas, and they were in this old German dance hall, and we wrapped and like Brad stayed in his tuxedo,
Starting point is 00:58:42 and everyone just stayed in there, like Brad's in this cool tux, so he just stayed in his tuxedo and everyone just stayed in there like, Brad's in this cool tux, so he just like stayed in his tux and we all just like hung out and got you, he didn't take the makeup or costume off and he just, because he just looked so cool that everyone's like dressed in their 30s clothes. Oh my God. You know, they took the swastika shit off, of course.
Starting point is 00:58:57 But then there was a moment, I'll tell you this, this is Brad, there's a moment at the Cannes Film Festival where they really like separate, you know, we're in the trenches, we're all together. When you get to the Cannes Film Festival where they really like separate, you know, you're in the trenches, we're all together. When you get to the Cannes Film Festival, they're like, okay, these are the four leads, this is the bubble-blah, and the guards on the thing, and the publicists are like, no,
Starting point is 00:59:12 it's this is just Brad and Quentin, a Michael Fastbender, and Eli and Diane Krueger and Millie and the run. You know, and we're all like, you know, kind of like taking the steps and we're doing the photos and Daniel Brull, and then Brad stops the red carpet, like he puts his hands up and just everyone just stops. And he walks back to the guards and he says,
Starting point is 00:59:28 excuse me, any part of them and he brought everybody. Everybody that had gotten on a plane that had anything, no matter how minor in the movie, he brought them on the red carpet with all of us. It was the most aldo, it was the coolest movie star move. And that was it. And like Angelina, they were together at the time. So it was just like, this guy is such a class.
Starting point is 00:59:48 Angelina? Yeah. Remember her? They were married. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. She was there. Angelina. Angelina. Angelina. Angelina. Hi. I'm Bobbie Lee. I'm here now at this review. It's Angelina. Angelina. Who's mountain? I'm ready. I this room, I'm gonna be far. Is Angelina Jolly in this? Who's not? I shit in. I'm ready. I gotta go quick. Sorry.
Starting point is 01:00:09 Yeah. Yeah. But it was like that's what it was like. So from the moment we landed on the plane to that moment at the Cannes Film Festival, a Brad like parting the Red Sea to bring everyone along, you're like, yeah, that was the spirit of that movie. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 01:00:22 Beautiful. And then to see people around the world respond to it. And to see it resonate today and people like, you know, it's an iconic inspirational character that was like one of the greatest periods of my life doing that. Yeah, that movie was just had an imprint on me too. Yeah, watching it. It was just like, I mean, I just think that he's just
Starting point is 01:00:38 one of the greatest. Yeah, well, yeah. There's just no one at his intellectual level, cinematic level, with a real Understanding and sensitivity in humanity that I don't think he gets credit for His movies are so stylish and the dialogue is so sharp But his understanding like that scene with the caprio having to break down in the trailer and the stuff He's on the porch with easy breezy or the stuff of Brad Pitt driving, like with the way the friends were like,
Starting point is 01:01:05 oh, we want to put them in time and Hollywood. Dude, that's one of my favorite movies. I mean, it's the way he recreated LA. It just seemed so organic. The scene when he's just, when Brad Pitt's in the screen, and the code of fanings, I'm coming in there and I'm gonna see him and this, and gonna stop.
Starting point is 01:01:20 You're just on the edge of your scene of two people who are squeaky from and cliff booths in this tense conversation. And you're like, this is it and Brad and the yellow shirt and the white. It's like, this is, this is, he's the master. And watching Leo in his trailer, like, because I've done that, I've had no doubt, I've had full blonde meltdowns and trailers and stuff like, what the fuck? It's one word. You can't see one word. It was so great. It's so good. It's one word! You can't see one word! It was so great. It's so good.
Starting point is 01:01:47 It's so real. Yeah. It was so real. Yeah, yeah. I'm a movie guy. I'm going to give you some movies that I like. And I want you to think, I want you to see if you like the movies or not. Why'd you look at your publicist?
Starting point is 01:01:59 Oh, was it? I was just doing a look for the camera like. Ha ha ha. You're top five. You're top five. I'm going to give you're top five. I'm gonna give you my top five to see if you think it's, you like the movie. Human centipede. No, no.
Starting point is 01:02:10 One of my favorite movies of all time, what do you think of Paris, Texas? Oh, Vim Benders. Yeah, I like Paris, Texas. But the problem was I got, I saw Paris, Texas at a point in film school where if I was not completely obsessed with Paris, Texas or down by law or mystery train, there were certain movies
Starting point is 01:02:27 that were in the film school NYU, like Charmou's Nagger, like you better like down by law, you better like trust in the unbelievable truth by how heartly, and you fucking better like wings with desire in Paris, Texas. And I remember watching the American friend going, whoa, this is really interesting. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:02:44 And Paris, Texas is a beautiful film. And I also like that Alison Anders was a PA on it. So her movie, Grace of My Heart, like all of her films, like she made, but she was a PA and her like, Vim Vendors was her kind of her god. And so she made her movies to basically try to be in the spirit.
Starting point is 01:03:00 If you've ever seen an Alison Anders film, it's like she's the most heavily influenced by Paris, Texas. It's a beautiful movie. I love Nostocic Kinski. I the most heavily influenced by Harris, Texas. It's a beautiful movie. I love Nostasi Kinski. I mean, you can't. All right, it's a great film. Being there. Well, yeah, you can.
Starting point is 01:03:11 I love Chauncey. Yeah, being there, you know, I like to watch. I love Hal Ashby. Hal Ashby is one of my cinema gods. I mean, he's, you know, when I, when I started, the first one of his films I saw was Harold and Maud. Oh, yeah, the great one. And then I love the last detail, but shampoo is so good.
Starting point is 01:03:24 Have you seen that? Never saw shampoo. If you love ones upon a time in Hollywood, like this sort of, there's a party sequence that's famous. Like shampoo is very ones upon a time in Hollywood. 1976 Warren Beatty. It's Hal Ashby before he did. I mean, it's 76 being there is 80.
Starting point is 01:03:40 Being there is a masterpiece. Have you ever seen the loved one? No. The loved one is a crazy party. Right, this time, man, I love the one. I want to watch it tonight. What is it? You may have to watch this podcast. So the loved one is in a quite different way.
Starting point is 01:03:50 If you listen to Quentin's podcast, they did a whole episode about it. The video archives podcast. The loved one is based on an evil and won novel that was written by Terry Southerne who wrote Dr. Strange Love. Tony Richardson. Tony Richardson directed this movie after he won the Oscar for Tom Jones. So this is the classic thing of the person wins best picture or best director. And then they get to do whatever they want.
Starting point is 01:04:11 Liberace is in it. There's a scene in this. Rod Stiger as Mr. Joyboy. And Hal Ashby is an editor. He's one of the editors. I think it's the editor of this film. Wow. So you can see how Ashby, this movie is so totally out there and completely
Starting point is 01:04:27 insane about the funeral industry in LA. But there's a scene with Rod Steiger as Mr. Joyboy that like I've talked with David Lynch. I was like, you have to be a fan of loads. Oh my god, Mr. Joyboy. Like when you look at the movies that we love, the well they're drinking from is the loved one. It's bananas, it's great. Wow. Yeah. I never even heard of it. It's a wild movie.
Starting point is 01:04:48 The loved ones. Yeah, loved ones. The loved ones. Yeah, that's a tag on the picture with something. The fuck up. The picture was something to offend everyone. And yeah, Liberace is a casket salesman. It's not crazy.
Starting point is 01:05:00 Have you ever seen Lord Love a Duck? No. Write that down. You should just the trailer for Lord Love a Duck. Or you can just go over and you look up Lord Love a Duck? No. Write that down. You should just the trailer for Lord Love a Duck. Or you can just go over and you do. Look up Lord Love a Duck sweater scene. It's with Tuesday, well, and Rod and McDowell, the world's oldest teenagers.
Starting point is 01:05:11 I think Rod and McDowell's 37. Oh, right. And it's Lord Jackson. Rod, Lord Love a Duck is a batshit crazy movie with like an amazing 60s theme. But look up, just watch the, just Google. There's a scene where a father and daughter Go sweater shopping And that's the stuff I live for it's like it's like you realize where John Waters was inspired for pink flamingos
Starting point is 01:05:33 They're desperate living. You're like you're watching Lord love a doc I'm like this Tuesday. Well, there's so insanely beautiful in it and her dad takes her sweater shopping and it's and they're eating lot dogs Yeah, I can't even like Describe this movie. It's so bachit crazy. But that's what I love, is these sort of obscure ones. I always get really interested in those movies. And then I was like, well, what inspired Hal Ashby
Starting point is 01:05:54 to make being there? What inspired Harold and Maud? Yeah, this is, yeah. Yes, baby. What is the meringue? Muree. Yes. Yes. Pink. Put on, pink. Put on. What is the meringue? B-R-E-E-S! B-R-E-S!
Starting point is 01:06:06 Pink put on, pink put on. B-R-E-S! Wow. So I just love Batchic, Craig. Like you're just like, it moves me just like, how did this happen? How did this happen? I love this.
Starting point is 01:06:16 So continue. I want to ask being there. So being there. Parasaxes being there. Yeah, but I also want to ask you something that, it's, because I love film, but I don't know much. Okay. I'm seen a lot I know song, but there are but there are probably shit that I just don't know That's why you need like a super nerd like me that's like kind of like a small
Starting point is 01:06:34 I'm gonna ask you me three movies that I have to watch in my lifetime Oh, man Well, depends what's let's go through your top five and then I'll help me kind of nervous Well, I mean because my other ones are like old boy. I love Yeah, well you seen sympathy for Mr. Vengeance. Yeah, one of my favorite. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I love I saw the devil I like Korean movies right I saw devil. Yeah, yeah, but do you like you like what Korea is doing with movies? Well, yeah, I mean sympathy for Mr. Depth sympathy for Mr. Vengeance was what made me want to make hostile I saw that by myself at a screening at the Citrus Film Festival two o'clock in the afternoon when I was there with Cabin Fever and my jaw was on the ground.
Starting point is 01:07:07 I was like, this is the best film I've seen in years and one of the best movies in my lifetime and nobody's in the fucking theater. And I actually sent a tape of it around to like Quentin before he went to Cannes to be a judge. I'm like, I think Park Chanwook is the best director in the world right now. And then Harry Knowles got a 35 print of Old Boy before he even had titles on it, before Miramax bought it, and we screened it as all I'm moving on. So I had seen an early screening of old boy
Starting point is 01:07:29 and then I wanted to writing director park's immigration letter. Like there was a screening of semifinals. Wow, wow. Like the Korean society, USC, the Korean like, so they found out that I was like a fan of his and they're like, we wanna, would you host a screening of sympathy for Mr. Vengeance and director Park, he's coming to town.
Starting point is 01:07:47 So I like drove down to USC with these students, with me and him. There's photos of us from 2004. Oh my, hosting. Hosting looks like. I was like very onto Korean cinema. Who's that? And I talked about it in all, here's an interesting thing.
Starting point is 01:07:58 I talked about Korean cinema for all my press for hostile. And then people started coming up and going, if you've seen this in the Squid Game, you've seen Squid Game game and everyone's like there's a lot of similar stuff in squid game So I watched it and I of course loved it But there's the business card. There's the rich people paying. There's a lot of themes And I and I met the creator met director Tongue and I and I talked him and he was just like you don't understand He's like when I was writing Squid game all I was watching was hostile and hostile too
Starting point is 01:08:25 And I'm with like you know hyun like the the cast. He's like everyone like when I was writing Squid Game, all I was watching was hostile and hostile too. Wow. I was like, and I'm with like, you know, Hanyun, like the cast, he's like everyone, Eli's like, this is what inspired Squid Game. I'm like, no, no, no, you understand. Sympathy, Mr. Vengeance is what inspired hostile. Whoa. So the fact that it went full circle with Korean cinema
Starting point is 01:08:41 that I was so inspired to make hostile, and then he was so inspired by hostile to make Squid Game. It's like we're all dealing with very, we're all like in, you know, very interesting similar themes of power and people that are so wealthy, they're bored and violence is entertainment, people that are so numb that they have to do something violent to stimulate. So it was just, it was amazing. It was an amazing moment to meet them and have that like connection. A cinema coming full circle. That's, that's the beauty of art in any language. And the genre cinema is that it does translate. There's certain things that are universal.
Starting point is 01:09:13 Do you pinch yourself? Well, not. No, but sometimes I'm so. You look at your life and go, wow. I do. I really do. I look at the print of Thanksgiving this morning. I checked it.
Starting point is 01:09:24 And I sat there and like, my friend, Jeff and I had this idea since we were 13 or 12, growing up in Boston with every slasher of holiday, with Silent Night Deadly Night, Halloween 2, 3, 4, my, you know, April Fool's Day, my bloody Valentine, everything had a holiday, Mother's Day. When are they doing Thanksgiving today? Like, there's a thing saying, Oh, leave her and it comes out. Yeah. And I was like, when are they doing Thanksgiving today? Like there's a thing, Thanksgiving.
Starting point is 01:09:45 Holy, we're in it, comes out. Yeah. And I was like, we need Thanksgiving. That's someone that's like non-religious. It applies to everybody. And you could have like a killer. Like someone, you know, is in love with a turkey. And then they chop turkeys, have a couple of things.
Starting point is 01:09:57 We had all kinds of different ideas of what this movie should be. And then it was, you know, Grindhouse. Quentin was like, hey, do you want to do a fake trailer? For Grindhouse? So we did, I was like, I already got the movie. It's already written Thanksgiving. So we just basically came up with crazy kills, which was a human, a human at a parade in a turkey costume gets decapitated. And then stumbles around like a chicken with their head caught off. Wow. Turned their head off. So, and then if someone being roasted is a human turkey, like all these
Starting point is 01:10:23 things, but that was a joke. Imagine being 12 and 13 years old and sitting there going, okay, if thing of this, if they made a Thanksgiving, you could take someone, roast them like a turkey, and then put the little chef's hats on their toes. And then there we were as adults going like, no, the chef's hats have to have a little more curling. I want this, and we're like doing it. Doing it. With Adrian Moro, who won the chef's hats have to have a little more curling. I want this. And we're like doing it with this with Adrian Moro,
Starting point is 01:10:46 who won the Oscar for the whale for makeup. He does his beautiful body. That's like, everyone else is so repulsed by him. Like, this is a work of art. There should be a museum, you know, and it's got like, he did like, he really, well, I don't want to give it away, but there's great stuff.
Starting point is 01:11:02 So there is a thing where I was watching it this morning, you know, I called Jeff after, I was emotional, I was like, I can't believe there's billboards on it. We did it. Our childhood dream, if we never accomplish anything else in our lives, we fucking did it. We got the Thanksgiving horror movie. So you can have that calendar,
Starting point is 01:11:17 you can just check that month off. So you don't have to wait till December. You can go October, November, you get a horror film, and December, there'll be Santa's last year movies. We didn't wanna go a month, November sucked, because there weren't gonna be any new horror movies. Halloween was over, you had to wait till Christmas, but now we've filmed that gap.
Starting point is 01:11:34 I want fucking November before. I was like, I want horror movies in November. And I wanna thank you. Is your Easter one? There's, I wanna do an Easter one. I could basically just make a holiday horror for the rest of your life. Yeah. But yeah, not mainstream yet, but that's my one. Okay. I could basically just make holiday horror for the rest of your life
Starting point is 01:11:49 But yeah, not mainstream yet, but that's my goal. Yeah, wow, dude So yeah, I do pinch myself a lot all the time. I'm like I can't believe and you know what? It's great. I think the pandemic really rattled all of us in so many ways. We're just like okay If we never let out of our houses and if we're let out of our houses again And this thing if this thing gets worse what's gonna happen, it made everyone really just clean shit out, get rid of your B projects, only focus on your A project. And I thought, you know, maybe, I don't know what's gonna happen,
Starting point is 01:12:13 this is it, the next movie I have to make has to be Thanksgiving, because that might be the last film I ever get to do. Yeah, yeah. Who the fuck knows what's gonna happen. Wow. And I think that's the way you gotta go to approach every movie, really.
Starting point is 01:12:23 Like, if I never do anything else This is the one. I'll tell you Eli. I'm having you here This is like mesmerizing because I don't get you I've only I've only had a couple directors. I've had John and Jordan and Jordan and but because I love film and I really like love you as a human I love you too, but and Is there anything else you want to plug? I mean, I have a show for kids. If you have kids called,
Starting point is 01:12:49 called Fright Crew. It's on Hulu and Peacock. It was, I wanted to make a Scooby-Doo. So the writer James Fry and I were like, we need a new Scooby-Doo for kids. How come the only thing kids are watching are Scooby-Doo? Like what if it's kids, but with real monsters. And we did it with DreamWorks Animation.
Starting point is 01:13:04 And it's beautifully done. And it's amazingly And we did it with DreamWorks Animation. And it's beautifully done, and it's amazingly well received. It's called Fright Crew. It's now all that the season one is streaming on Hulu and Peacock, but it's for kids like eight, nine, 10. It's like that gateway kind of horror. Wow. If you want your kid to be where it's like not too scary,
Starting point is 01:13:20 it's spooky and fun, but everything is a good positive message and helps kids get over their fears and conquer problems It's all about the kids hate each other and they have to work together and become friends They're all in different social groups and they're all awkward and they all kind of get ostracized in their friends They get these powers to solve these mysteries that they've evil that they've unleashed Wow It's that noise, but you know, we did it with DreamWorks animation and they really
Starting point is 01:13:40 Really, you know went for it. We did it with like an A-list team and the animation is so beautiful. So this way you can watch something with your kids for Halloween. And the episodes are 22 minutes. They're fun, they're really easy. Wow. And then yeah, and then for the adult state night, go see Thanksgiving.
Starting point is 01:13:54 I want to start a new slasher franchise. I want to ruin Thanksgiving. That's the whole thing. I want people to do like, I want people cosplaying the human turkey on Thanksgiving, like someone at their dinner will like pull the thing in the grandma and do like TikToks of like, I want people cause playing the human turkey on things, someone at their dinner will pull the thing and the grandma's like tick tocks of doing a Thanksgiving thing. So it's time for a new slasher.
Starting point is 01:14:12 I love the classics, but we're already at Scream 6. I mean, they're great, but we're on number seven. And Halloween, they've done nine or 10 of them. That's okay, keep them going. I love them, but it's time for some new blood. I want it to create one that people go, oh fuck yeah, this is awesome. And if people go see it, there's,
Starting point is 01:14:29 everyone listening, go see it, then I get to do more. So it's fun. Now you're a doer, dude. You're a guy that goes, I wanna do this, I'm gonna do it. Is that amazing? People are like that.
Starting point is 01:14:39 Most people aren't like that. They're like, I have this idea and they just never do it, you're a doer. Well that's because I feel like the Nazis are gonna show up. Oh, good idea. And for us, yeah, and the machine gun, like I remember that scene in America where often London, where he has the nightmare
Starting point is 01:14:54 of like this, those werewolf Nazis that kicked the door open and machine gun him. I'm like, oh, that's for sure gonna happen to me. So I better enjoy it now, because I'm like 10 minutes away from the werewolf Nazis from America were often London There's a part of me that will always believe it's gonna happen Wow, so I'm just like you know what time is limited and we all know people that have unexpectedly gone and COVID was a wake-up call and
Starting point is 01:15:15 Nothing's fair. You never know what the hell is gonna happen and you can't take it with you So just like what's with what's it about? It's about connecting with people, expressing yourself, having great ideas, and moving on. Give them a round of applause. Yeah, it's fucking amazing. I made it to it. This was such a riveting thing. Thank you so much for being here. I'll give you a good one.
Starting point is 01:15:34 Toby Damit. Toby Damit is a wild film. It's actually been kind of resurfaced. It's very hard. Toby Damit was part of a, there was a big thing in the late 60s in Italy where they were doing these anthology movies. Like, Bacacaccia 70, L'estrégé, which is the witch's, like, fat of a, there was a big thing in the late 60s in Italy where they were doing these anthology movies. Like, Bokaccia 70, L'Estreghe, which was the witches,
Starting point is 01:15:47 like that. Like, there's, and you get like, Antonioni, there's Clint Eastwoods, and then you get all these directors, they're with Fellini, they'd all come together and go, I'll just do a 30 minute movie and put five of them together. This is, you know, 1968. So that was like the only place you could see a short film like that. So these three directors, it was Louis Malle, Roger Vadim, who did Barbara Allen and Fellini, they each directed an Edgar Allen post-short story and it's called Spirits of the Dead. So the other two aren't as good, I mean they're great,
Starting point is 01:16:15 but they're not as good as this. Fellini decided to make a movie called Toby Damit based on the story, based on the, never bet the devil your head, this Edgar Allen post-story, about and it is so incredible and surreal and bizarre. And the imagery in this, it's like an acid trip horror film where it's like 40 minutes, I mean, that's what I was like,
Starting point is 01:16:36 you know, it's, I always wanna trust like Toby Damott every year for Halloween. It is so bonkers. Yeah, this is the trailer, but they've remastered it. And then, oh yes, so this is the trailer that's showing on. And it's 40 minutes long. It's 38 minutes long. Oh wow.
Starting point is 01:16:49 It's Toby Damott, but when you watch it visually, you're like, this is one of the most interesting, spectacular, fun films that there's another. It depends on your interest. I'm really in a crazy 60s Italian phase right now, which is the mustache, because my wife wants to look like my child of the most rionic. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:17:03 We've been watching, like I watched this movie called the 10th victim, that I'd never, I was like, I kind of missed this one. I'd seen the poster, but it was made in 1964, but it's set in the future. So it's got this very groovy 1960s Italy aesthetic as if it's in the year 2000s. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:17:18 We're the whole world to place this game so where if people can sign up to either kill somebody or be killed and if you survive, you get a certain amount of money and everyone kind of tunes in and watches it on TV. So people will be like at a restaurant eating and two people get up and start shooting each other and they just kind of move out of the way and then go back to eating like it's no big deal.
Starting point is 01:17:32 But the costumes, the clothes, the makeup. What's that one called? The 10th victim, they did just one. Yeah, yeah, they're saying, Andrews and Marcello, it is such a wild, I love that kind of stuff. And Barbara Ella, if you rewatch Barbara, Barbara, I was just-
Starting point is 01:17:44 I never seen it. It's just, I mean, it's a crazy movie. Yeah. But beautiful, surreal, just from another planet. Barbara, if you like, being there, if you've ever seen five, if you like Paris, Texas, yeah, you should watch five easy pieces. That's with Jack Nicholson. Yes. I've never seen a masterpiece. Five easy pieces. Five easy pieces. I'm gonna do it. It is Paris, Texas. It is on the, it's, for me, that was one of the movies I saw in film school. This movie about like having a gift and wasting your life potential,
Starting point is 01:18:11 being a complete fuck up and running away from your talents and just being like a shit person and being so ashamed of it. It is such a fucking good movie. Okay. And when you watch Thanksgiving, like my DP, and I thought, did you watch my blood? No, no, no, no. The movies I watch that I made the cast watch,
Starting point is 01:18:27 I made them watch Sorcerer, William Friedkin, another masterpiece, open Sam Winkist Star Wars, nobody saw it, it's incredible. Like, Sorcerer, like after Exorcist, he did this film, and they went to the ends of the Earth to make this movie, and they put the actors through hell, and it is such a visceral experience. What's it called?
Starting point is 01:18:43 Sorcerer, it's a remake of Wages of Fear. Okay. They have to drive this truck full of nitro glycerin. It is like, visceral experience. What's it called? Sorcerer. It's a remake of Wages of Fear. They have to drive this truck full of nitro glycerin. It is like, they want to, it's so incredible. Sorcerer and also cruising, he did after that's amazing. And it's underrated master. Let me ask you about this. Oh, there's some.
Starting point is 01:18:55 Yeah, Sorcerer, five of these pieces, Betty Blue. I had everyone watch, have you ever seen that with Beatrice Dal? No. Director of Diva, Jean-Jacques Banex. It's Betty Blue. It's like, you watch Beat Stahl, she's 22. And that's why I wanted everyone to watch them. Like this is what she was doing at 22 years old.
Starting point is 01:19:09 You are this age. Look at what she does every moment in the movie. She's like on fire, she's electric, it's such a... So I was trying to crack their brains a little bit. And then my DP, I was like watch five easy pieces, watch the diner in five easy pieces and watch the diner in Thanksgiving and look at the colors and look watch the diner in Thanksgiving and look
Starting point is 01:19:25 at the colors and look at the way it's shot and look at the photography. I was like every diner was like kind of this, we called it the sort of Netflix smokey overcast. I was like look at the diner in five easy pieces, which is the colors, the color, the uniform. When you look at that diner and then you look up the trailer of Thanksgiving or the latest thing where the kids are in a diner, you'll see. Oh yeah, I'm telling you, I shot it to look like five easy pieces. And you literally, I'm replicating these shots. So when people are like, well yeah,
Starting point is 01:19:52 you love Halloween, you love slosh of them. I do, but this is my influence. This is what I'm trying to do. I'm trying to infuse this aesthetic. And Nicholson is so fucking cool in this movie. Such an amazing performance. Wow. You do need to take the 120
Starting point is 01:20:05 frame, her it's frame blend. Motion blur, Audrey TV, it's making me fucking. And I'm like, it is doing that thing. It's doing that thing.
Starting point is 01:20:14 It's a no see, it's program. It don't do that. The fucking motion motion, okay? It's, it's program. It's not doing that, man. In the default. Do you got Eli Rother,
Starting point is 01:20:22 man, you do the fucking motion motion. If I've done one. A fuck man. Service here today. It's to get you got Eli Rother, man, you're the fuck. I'm also the thing. If I've done one... A fuck, man. Service here today, it's to get you to go into menu, display, rightness, picture, advance, 120 motion frame, bro, minimum off. Because it's done for sports, for hiding your spirit. Next time, man, you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 01:20:40 It's gonna make your movies look like there was shot on fucking video, it's torturing me. Okay. We apologize, we apologize. We apologize. Everyone listening. Yeah. Go into your settings on your television, on your Samsung, on your LG and your whatever. The 120 motion blur, Frank.
Starting point is 01:20:52 Off. You have a podcast. No, I just go on yours. I mean, you're so good at it. It's fun. I love it. Interesting. I would love to do a podcast.
Starting point is 01:21:02 You should do one, dude. I really want, I have a few ideas for podcast. Yeah. I would love to go just like have one where I just talk about like a great art film and like a garbage movie. Yeah, yeah. Like so, you know, just terrible. Well, I'm into like that movie. Like I like Troll 2.
Starting point is 01:21:13 Troll 2 is great. They've been reaching out to me about like with Claudia Fregasso about doing the the Kif and Troll 2 is like we got to get lunch, we can get the rights, we can do this. Like, I love Troll 2 so much. I'm like, I should sit down and talk to him about it. It's a masterpiece.
Starting point is 01:21:26 So good. Well, it's because it's Goblin. Have you ever seen Monster Dog? No, no. Is that a good, not a bad movie? No, it's great. It's Alice Cooper is in it. It's Claudio Fragasso.
Starting point is 01:21:35 Oh, really? The director of troll 2. Really? Now, Claudio Fragasso's mentor was Bruno Mate. Just fucking, when you go deep, when you watch, it's got no side of everything. No, you need to go. And I did a movie with Glen Monster Dog. Oh, God, it's so cool.
Starting point is 01:21:50 It's amazing, it's got, but the one, you know, hell of the living dead. You'll see written by Claudio Fragasso, directed by Bruno Mate, hell of the living dead. You can see where he gets his aesthetic from. So I was, Glen Danzig made a vampire movie called Death Rider in the House of the Seven Vampires. And I can talk about it because it's not with the Strut Company. And he basically made this movie with a vampire movie that he directed.
Starting point is 01:22:13 And it was one of the last films, one of the last films that Julian Sands did who's the lead vampire and he asked me to be in it as Dracacity of Vampire. And I was like, I'm so into the misfits. Yeah. And Dansig, I just wanted to see what this be like. I'm in it.
Starting point is 01:22:27 Wow. And I play a vampire. It's not out yet. I think it's gonna release it. I think Glenn just has it and he's gonna put it out. This maybe Halloween or something. I don't know. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:22:35 He changes his mind a lot. So I was there on set with him and I was like, and the way he was just framing the camera and putting up, I'm like, this is kind of got a Bruno of a tape. Matei Bob, he's like, I fucking love Bruno. A tape like, like, we completely clicked over our love of that 1980 horror aesthetic. So, Troll II of a big fan of Baclado for GASO
Starting point is 01:22:54 is a really nice guy. I got to meet him. Wow. And Eduardo Margarita, like in Surge Marigian, like I met Claudia with the Rome film festival and he was lovely. He was so nice. I wanna, him and his wife, right, all their movies.
Starting point is 01:23:03 And you look at their film, I mean, these guys me 50, 60 movies. Wow. It's no joke. But Monster Dog is good. And you're right, so, well, Monster Dog is in the 122 world. Good, I love it. Depends what your vibe is.
Starting point is 01:23:12 That's my vibe. Hell of the living dead by Bruno Matei. And there's shocking dark, because another one is pretty good. That's like, yeah, yeah. But yeah, hell of the living dead is like, wow. And these guys just made these fucking crazy movies. There's no rules, it was so fun.
Starting point is 01:23:25 Yeah. But yeah, I love, you know, Zapped, early 80s cable movies, high school USA, just anything that's like hot dog the movie, I just gave Tarantino all my 35 prints. I give him my 35 print of Hunk, if you've ever seen Hunk. No, no, no. It's an 80s movie where like the nerd gets the wish
Starting point is 01:23:42 from like the hot devil and James Coco is the devil, but one of the emissaries, and it's like, he gets turned into Hunk Golden, and they're like, a Hunk makes his own rule. Cuts the sleeves off his t-shirt, and then everyone at the party is dressing like him. They're like, hey, it's like the nerd that, yeah, gets turned into a Hunk.
Starting point is 01:23:59 Oh my God. So I had a 35, and my demon lover was Scott Valentine, remember from Family Ties? It's the other week. We made a movie called My Demon lover when it turns into a demon. I was like, I get to the point where I was like, I like that movie.
Starting point is 01:24:13 I need a 35 millimeter print of it in case it just disappears. As a record of existence. Wow. Link the killer monkey film. I collect, I have a print of joysticks. I have, I have two prints of Zapped. Zapped is one of my all time favorite movies.
Starting point is 01:24:29 I feel like they can't make the people making movies like this anymore. They're not. I mean, the reason. But, you know, it's the moment in time. But yeah, I love the movies that you saw as a kid on cable that you weren't, like hamburger the motion pictures. Yeah. Just were like, stop that. And the best part was, I not only ingested,
Starting point is 01:24:45 I know the directors, I would memorize it. And I'd be like, well, Mike Marvin, the director of Hot Dog, directed hamburger, I was hoping he'd make pizza the motion picture. And then like, you would have, I remember they were showing us like, John Renoir's rules of the game and the hunt. I was like, this is sort of like,
Starting point is 01:25:02 when Lee Blessing and all the students at Buster Burger University, go there and drill sergeant, Druten comes in. And then I was like, this is sort of like, when Lee Blessing and all the students at Buster Burger University go there and drill sergeant Druten comes in. And then I was watching Black Mirror and they had a like a Buster Burger bag and I was like, there was a hamburger in the motion picture reference to the new season of Black Mirror.
Starting point is 01:25:14 I'm like, okay, someone else appreciates this. So movies that I always like, kind of fight for the underdog movie that just I know is a terrible film but I love it anyways and I don't care what people think. Wow. I'd say like my brain gets wasted on these garbage,
Starting point is 01:25:26 but also there's the other side that's five easy pieces and Toby Damack. I'm gonna watch all that. My brain is actually a strange blender, the 10th victim of all these weird movies. I can't help it. What the fuck, so there's your list. That's my list.
Starting point is 01:25:42 Give him a round of applause. That list at the end. Are you in town or do you go back to Italy? No I'm here. Okay, good. I'm here. I'm here. It's good to see you. Good to see you. Give him a round of applause. Come on.
