Oh, I feel like we live in the under the podcasting is the underworld and I feel like you live above the fray Yeah, you're the cool people. No dumbfounded. Nope David. So it's all rappers though Yeah, okay. I have to say though that like maybe I've just been sort of Determined with an Australian man Yeah, and it's a different culture and like we're growing our own vegetables
Starting point is 00:04:22 Farm to table farm to table and I'm not so with my pulse on what's happening in the world Yeah, but you're not just dating an Australian guy, right? I'm married. I'm married. I'm married. I'm married. Yeah, married to an Austrian guy Just an Austrian he is um, what's his name? His name is Curtis down. Yeah, and what does he do love? He is a chef. Yeah, and and TV host. I guess. Yeah, he's a person. Yeah, and he owns when when Which is a restaurant in Hollywood and then one and Beverly Hills. He's a so he's a celebrity world famous chef He's above. He's the one that's above the you know, like we're here. Yeah, and he's up there with his like fancy Yeah, I give the illusion of fanciness, but I'm not I don't think yeah, and whenever I see him Yeah, you give them very long hugs, right? Don't I?
Starting point is 00:05:12 No, but do I do right? Yeah, you do because he is um, he's an Adonis. Yes. No, but you don't when you see him though He's like tall. What's a thick? Yeah, I would say he seems like he's a thick is a thick dick Just I've never seen it, but through the pants. Yeah, I'm not gay. I just when I meet somebody straight up Just telling me that you've looked Yeah, yeah, to be fair, that's his eye level I'm small. That's what it is. Yeah. Yeah, that's my eye level Yeah, and I but also he just seems like he's a gentle nice guy
Starting point is 00:05:52 Yeah, and when we you we were blessed to went we ate at Gwen that one night. Yeah, it was the funniest thing I think the first thing he said to Bobby was oh That's you. I think we share a wife and then you recoiled like a like Yeah, yeah, yeah, there's just something about him that like kind of excites me and also scared. Yeah, I think the same way Yeah, and he he actually was he doesn't cook there. I mean he doesn't he's He's not back there. He's the owner of the but he cooked us our meal He goes most nights to be honest like you know, I'm I'm yeah No, he seems he loves it and he's kind of a control freak too, but like he's there. Wow. He loves it
Starting point is 00:06:36 Yeah, and then you have Two just kids are like super models these kids. They're gonna blow up. They're so cute They're the best. They're so much fun. Right complete. Like it's just They're weird and wonderful and it's awful and wonderful to watch like your personality come out and to other brand-new human beings But they're like did they seem like I've only seen them through videos. I've never met them, but they seem Um funny there and outgoing and confident They are they are Cool kids. I have to say like I don't I before I became a mom
Starting point is 00:07:13 I did I did not like it when people were always like all my kids and they're also special and I think it's it's it's It's important when you become a parent to have your own Autonomy apart from being just a parent But I am obsessed as you would be with you know, your own kids and they're they're amazing. They're funny and because of you Me, uh-huh. I'm Hudson. My six-year-old wants to be a stand-up comic and it's like a real thing It is trying out Joe Uncle Bob. Oh my god. We'll tour together Well, you want to wait a moment to open or what she's like, I'll show them everything No, no, no
Starting point is 00:07:49 No, that's not what I meant. I show everything about comedy Came out weird Everyone but everyone listening now Everyone listening now. That's not me I'm a I Support dreams and I want people to grow your uncle Bob. You're yeah, but not that uncle I'm a mentor uncle Bob mentor Bob. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, he'd like that too. He's he's really into it Yeah, he's not he's not like funny in his stand-up persona, but he's funny in real life
Starting point is 00:08:20 Yeah, right. Yeah, well the key is to get him to be himself on stage and then that's why It takes a long time, but when he's 18, well, you know, he'll open for me. Yeah, I'll be great Yeah, he's got a little bit of a streak of that like he likes the attention of it Are you hesitant of your kids doing show business? You know like yeah For sure. I think I'm I started when I was really little. It was just a big like accident I saw that Toys R Us commercial. Yes. Oh, it's so cute. It's so cute. Was it Urkel? Yeah, so Urkel Jenny Lewis from yeah, I look highly I guess do you did you ever watch the Larry the Larry sander show? Yeah, it's got nemes
Starting point is 00:09:01 Oh, these kids that were like, you know, but my mom and dad were not in the business. They're just like average Pasadena, California folk and I was in a Ballet school and somebody came to the ballet school to take pictures and the kid the parents signed off on you know letting these pictures Go to a camera company and I don't remember this story. My mom tells it to me in a like really disjointed way Apparently somebody saw the photo and then asked my mom if I could be in this ad and it turned out to be like in Time Magazine It was like this beautiful black and white photo of little girls in a ballet class and then an agent called the ballet school And it just kind of all happened and my like mom who had to look at a Thomas guide and get me to auditions
Starting point is 00:09:46 It's like what is happening. I don't want this to happen And I just never stopped working since I was five Wow Like it's bizarre and I like being an actor But it was kind of a weird thing for a kid to do like some kids would go to like you're you know I know because working with you I know for this for a fact that Emily Kappnik are the producer executive producer of our show You're her favorite. How do you know I can just tell She says she says things to all of her she says things to other people and Oliver says things to me
Starting point is 00:10:16 No, like oh my god, that's you that's girl. So amazing. She's so funny. Oh, I love her like she just talks about you a lot Yeah, but not only do you have that talent, but you're a genetic mutation. What do you mean your face? You you're like a porcelain Yeah, just perfection almost, you know, I want to punch your face Just one cheek, but I'll shatter the fucking phone It'll just seep out of her ears and then we'll be fine. We'll be equals Do you know what first of all, thank you. That's very nice because I know you're paying me a compliment, but I grew up. It's not a compliment. No, I'm going to kill you I grew up like, you know, my mom's Korean my dad is
Starting point is 00:11:07 White guy. Yeah, so I didn't really know what people saw when they looked at me However, I was like in a business where like I would always play like girl number two or like the kid next door Like I knew I was an ethnic face, but in my school like I'd had a crush on the Football quarterback at school. Yeah, and at a party. He was his name is Joey Strykula You know what I'm not even sure if it was exactly him that said it but the whole football team was in this, you know, I Think we were watching a movie. Oh, no, we're watching the Super Bowl and Michael Jackson comes on I don't know if it was an ad or he was performing and he said, oh my god Lindsay looks exactly like Michael Jackson and everyone started laughing and you know what?
Starting point is 00:11:56 He's not wrong. Like I think that I do look a bit a little after he did what he did to his face That's what I'm saying. And so everyone thinks I've had all this plastic surgery. Yeah, yeah weird And this is my face people like I'm sick My nose, okay, yeah, yeah, this is what I'm born. I know mad like you know, you are Michael Jackson See now that I've told you yeah, oh my god. Yeah, you won't be able to yeah Yeah, but now I have a thing psychologically where I can go is is she Have a good face. No, she looks like Michael Jackson. Now. I can just bring her down to my level You're saying you're equal to Michael Jackson. Well now I heard her. I don't have to hurt her
Starting point is 00:12:39 Oh, I don't have to scratch your face or anything like that. Yeah, the cheeks can stay Because even when you see that commercial that toys or us commercial you're just as soon as you see her Number one. It looks like you. Oh, there's Lindsay, right? I'm picking Michael. It looks like Michael Jackson. Yeah Yeah, this is a thriller video Yeah, and then an oracle looks like oracle, right? Oh Jaleel white. Yeah, Jaleel white. Yeah. Yeah, he's a kid in it though Super so cute though. So cute. Yeah, you just want to take them home and not I'm the good uncle
Starting point is 00:13:20 Wow, but like back to your original question about like my kids being in the business like I Was able to I'm a super resilient Person just like, you know, some people are more buoyant in the world So like when I get a rejection, I'd be like whatever no big deal like I don't I didn't care about it so much And even now like I love being an actor, but I'm not I don't know like I just don't Feel like it's everything and I had that back then Did you understand rejection as a child big time? And I think it actually helped me because I'd like really want to do something
Starting point is 00:13:50 I auditioned for punky Brewster. Do you know? Yeah, and I wanted it so bad and I didn't get it And I remember that was a heartbreak and also did you ever see the never-ending story and there was the child like Empress? Yeah, yeah, I was like a breath away from being the child. Oh my god, that was amazing. Can you imagine? Yeah, so that one still hurts But like since then I'm cool with it Never any story. Yeah Yeah, let me ask you this though, but there's no roles now that you like didn't get that you're a lot of roles There's I've just been able to realize like not It's not my door to walk through like it's right you kind of you realize this is that
Starting point is 00:14:27 You know everyone, you know tiger belly fans. They've seen my struggles and they've heard You know my my mishaps and my low self-esteem and we're all broken children everyone listening right now We're all broken children What I've realized by being on this show is it because it happens so organically that it's like oh, I'm kind of meant to be on This thing. I don't know why I remember when I first found out that you'd be his TV life. Yeah. Yeah, are they sure? Looking at your picture are they sure yeah, yeah, it's a genetic no one's gonna know what you you've never read I mean, I've read comments There's no fucking way
Starting point is 00:15:14 Yeah, do you go deep in social media comments? No Because I'm I pretend maybe that I'm like super cool about stuff But if I really went deep I'd be sad like of course you'd be sad. Yeah, I read it out I was on a show where I played a fashion designer and I read one comment and it was like I wish she would die In a chiffon related accident, and I just remember like how I thought I was like that's so specific You know yeah, I was like well, I'm never doing that again. You're not gonna read it. You don't read I read a little bit last night. I did I went in and do you know what I found the thing was like
Starting point is 00:15:48 Who is the gorgeous woman playing Bobby Lee's wife? Yeah, and that was it And then it was like they listed some credits and that was it and that was all that anyone had read it So funny because people know who you are. What the fuck are you talking about? No, this this thing said who is the I was happy They said I was gorgeous This is how the fashion one that you were talking about it was that lipstick jungle. Yeah, yes So I'm gonna tell you about that. I was at I was at Craig Ferguson Craig Ferguson lives next door, right? Okay, and I sometimes do his radio show, so he's like tell me about your show and I go Oliver Hudson Jenna Fisher. He's like a I've we've had Jenna on and then he Craig Ferguson goes
Starting point is 00:16:31 Well, you you have a wife and I go. Yeah, Lindsay Price and he lost his fucking mind. What he goes lipstick jungle No, I swear to fuck Yeah, Craig Ferguson said that I'm like, you know that he's like I love that show. I love that show. No way. Yeah I'm so much. Did he mention the pilot we did together? No, you did it right it with Craig? Yeah, it was called hot mom I didn't even he didn't bring that up remind him. It was me and him and Gina Gershyn. I played Gina Gershyn sister, which is really way Never explains like how weird that is but and then
Starting point is 00:17:05 Nick Lashay Like a hot handyman and the pilot, you know, obviously, but she's this she's every year She goes to bat this one This one is so good every year some people, you know, like you and my flat-faced friend here. Yes, ma'am in Pum-pum That's your new name Hey, Pum-pum you and I you and I you know Every other year we'll have we'll have our chance maybe once every three years. Yeah, this lady right here every year back
Starting point is 00:17:37 That's not I mean sometimes you strike out, but sometimes you hit it Do you know what like I if I have been doing this since Toys R Us age like five That's a long time. So either it's a super successful story Like how amazing that I've been able to keep it up and keep working or it's really sad because I don't have an Oscar after 30,000 years in the business, you know, like you don't look you're getting these 3d movie. Yeah, this is gonna come at you Don't do no back up back up I'm gonna say this to you. Okay, this is that I honestly am gonna say something to you That is the biggest compliment that I could give you. Okay, and I don't want you to respond really at all
Starting point is 00:18:18 I'm not going to all right. Don't don't go. Oh, no, or whatever, right? Okay, I genuinely believe when I see you in the show That I got you have comedic because the choice you made for this character is so specific And it's so hard to do It really is hard to do because this is unlike you're not playing yourself on this Right when I'm doing it is I'm just because I don't want to act that I'm just kind of doing I'll just do this me You know, I'm not making any choice. I'm just this guy acting choice. Yeah playing myself. I'd say the words
Starting point is 00:18:57 You know, but you can distinctly tell That she knows this character and she's fucking doing it and it really is I mean, I told all over the other day. I go it's hard to be in the scene with it because she does all her lines She she made she made these choices, right? And I'm like looking at her like fucking face You know me her perfect face and I'm so I want to scratch this girl's eyes out She's so good, you know, I mean He was said literally he just stands there while you act and just watches you and forgets. Yeah, I forgot my lines even Oh my god, this girl's so good. Yeah
Starting point is 00:19:31 If I didn't like her I'd be like, oh fuck this man. I gotta spend all this time with this fucking lady, right? But she's so cool I'm telling you right now like I remember we see I had a scene in the car And we you know, and we were on the lawn chairs waiting for them to set it up and it was so just comfortable and shit You know, it's lucky. Yeah Like when I did that thing with Brooks Shields, I wanted to kill her I fucking hate her, you know, I'm sorry. No offense Brooke, but
Starting point is 00:20:02 I feel she has you prices better than you. Yeah. Yeah, you're she's way better than you You know, I've done stuff with people and I looked at them and like Kim control when I did that Pepsi commercial Remember that what did she say to you? She looks up. She goes to Eric Stone Street and goes you have a very bright future And she she looks at me and she goes and she just walks away That's so rude. Yeah. Yeah, I'll never understand how people when they get into a certain position in Hollywood Lose like their decency like it's just as if they don't actually have the same Rules as everybody else. Yeah, be cool. Don't be like, I don't get it. I don't get it when you get more Don't you think you should like? Yeah, but I'm not nice to extras
Starting point is 00:20:44 I really am not Because sometimes they're like, you know, sometimes like in between takes One of them will start singing But I know what but I know what they're doing What are they doing? They're showcasing They're auditions. Yeah, they want to shit. They're peacocking. They're peacocking for you. They want somebody. Yeah, they want somebody to notice them Yeah, and go, oh, you sing you want a line? Yeah, or we should we're gonna call and get you an agent. You can see them hammer it up
Starting point is 00:21:12 Right, and I just want to turn them ago. No, no, no, you're you're like a tree You know or you know or like a building Shut the fuck up. It's a weird business though. Like, of course, they're like, you know, the need that we feel to be You know people like us and stuff. They want they want it even worse, you know I'm sure you peacock too, bobby. I'm sure you showcase too in your own way. I don't I you is showcasing disappearing It's showcasing not locking eyes with people and just kind of Turning my back and trembling That's not showcasing. That's being a fucking artist, man
Starting point is 00:21:47 Oh, I did it. Well now joey, you know, you know, one of my pointers is that I wouldn't even do I mean I feel so guilty even saying what I'm saying But I'm gonna say it anyway I don't think that I would never do extra work Because to me I'm like I've done it When I first started like eight years ago to learn how to be on a set But you learned by being on a set just by did you learn did you learn? Yeah, I didn't understand what background rolling uh what first aid ad did or like how just extras that are what you described as showcasing
Starting point is 00:22:26 And I did the opposite of that Um, I did it one time. Can I just say something? Can I just say something to you? Josh DeMell's took my hand He took me out after for a beer. What can I just say this though is is you learn By getting a job too true Yeah, right. Yeah, and then also it validates that oh You know, I'm a real actor I'd rather I'd rather audition audition audition audition get a couple of lines and learn that way than being background
Starting point is 00:22:59 And I don't think that helps with the self-esteem. I don't think that helps with But also am I am I I don't know? Raise your hand if you think I'm you think I'm out of line But I know like say youtube star right never been on set I Cindy has worked with some I don't want to say their name But they'll go on set and they have no idea how to be on set and these are youtube stars That are like yelling at the director telling the producer wait for me and like they've never been on set Those are douchebags true
Starting point is 00:23:25 No, it's probably really valuable to be be on a set and watch But there's probably a lot of people who are just sort of looky loose too, you know, yeah around like Maybe you're right. Maybe I should change my outlook. Hey, you're not a tree You're not a tree. You're human being sorry Yeah, you can do extra work if you want we're gonna Now you but let me I want to get to this too is is that You're asian You're half
Starting point is 00:23:50 So do all the parts you audition for are the asian or this regular right? She was gino grusian sister Right, I'm not exactly sure. You're the first person who's told me flat out. Lindsay. You're asian Remember we spoke about it when I came to see your show and I don't know what people see because like, you know And you're like you're asian. You were you're like you're asian. Yeah, it's a Barack Obama black He's a black man then then you're asian right right and I'm but the parts that I played look In the early years my brother and I because my brother was an actor too We cornered the market on like there was like this trend where all the shows the tv shows were doing a storyline about like the bastard Children from like the gi would go
Starting point is 00:24:30 Wow, you cornered the market. Yeah, like we walk into the room and all the other half-breeds would be like Price kids are here. They'd like I love the price Because we were like clearly, you know a hundred percent and half-breed. Yeah But when that was over it became like this non-specific fill in the You know like I was like the diversity and that was a million years ago and still I'd say today like we know that we're Sometimes cast for our diversity. I think I'm a really at some points like the Shows that I was on the billboards and the bus stops for yeah
Starting point is 00:25:06 I was like a homogenized Version of something ethnic so to make people feel comfortable that it wasn't a completely white wash show But I was like an easy I think that's interesting that they would hire you and then they would think of like we need a fat asian guys To balance out, but it's I think it yeah in my head. I'm like, yeah when I saw you for the first time I'm like, yeah, she's asian You know, it's I'll give you an example. Okay. Yeah, if you have a glass you take a everyone try this experiment at home
Starting point is 00:25:35 Okay, take a glass take a glass a see-through glass do it right now. Yeah fill it halfway with water Okay, then fill it halfway with coke. Okay. What is the color? It's not water anymore. It's not water It's coke light. Yeah, it's it's still a coke. It's a coke. Yeah, right. It's watery coke your agent light Yeah, exactly as bobby would but then I met your brother and he's very more asian than you So then I saw it does he look super korean? He we I showed the kids like a little bit of the show and they're like, what's uncle beat it on the show? You're like, we didn't know also My I think I sent you a screenshot my you know how like the creepy thing happens on your iphone where it like
Starting point is 00:26:13 Categorizes your pictures. Yes. Oh, um, you're in like my favorites because the iphone thinks you're like related to me Like it's like you my mom my dad racist apple So racist it might be super. Oh, did I show you? Yeah, I think you said it to me. I didn't know what it was But that's what it was. Yeah, it's like my brother you my mom And I have like two pictures of bobby by the way, you know like on my phone That's weird. That's amazing. Yeah, but yeah, my brother looks. Yeah super great genetics, you know
Starting point is 00:26:44 But I I also wanted to ask you okay Because I know that you and I you know, we've talked when we shoot shot the show And then you have that time, you know, you're waiting for it to come out How do you feel right now about the show or about you Say things about me About me too, but about like because it it did well. Yeah, I know and it's hard to Contain your excitement. Is it something that it's great. Let's just say it's great. It's amazing. I shut the fuck up
Starting point is 00:27:22 I saw it. I saw it and I loved it. I'm sorry. I saw and I loved it. You did I did Why did you love it? I don't know I almost I feel like any all the other family shows that are out there It's up there with like feel good and there's a lot of stuff on tv that's not feel good More than just feel good. It gives you the feels. Yes It gives you the oh, shit. I have felt that thing at that exact moment in that way before Which is what the whole point I mean, that's the whole point with movies and television is you want to sit there and and relate
Starting point is 00:27:52 And like that's like the age old thing of storytelling Which means I think that it's really written well But it's making people like get stirred up and like feel things because it feels authentic So I'm excited to be on it for that reason. Yeah I mean, how many things have you done where you're like, this is just so false and it doesn't feel You don't feel good about it, right? I feel really good about this show. I do. You do. I do He did a pilot called new car smell. I'm sure that was awesome That's the one that you worked with. Yeah. Yeah, I told you about that. Yeah, yeah
Starting point is 00:28:20 But yeah, but I I I tend to not let myself get super excited because I've been around See that's what I'm trying to do. You just manage your expectations. I try to manage my expectations You have to because you never know, you know, like It's all so fleeting. It's all so like it's not There's nothing permanent about any of it. My friend, johnny texted me today and he said he saw it today A splitting up together commercial And it's and it said our new hit show Man, everyone's talking about it to me, but I know I'm in it. So of course that you know, but like people are saying
Starting point is 00:28:54 That they really liked it. I know but what I'm both whispering I know but I know because I'll tell you why I'll tell you I'll tell you why I've been on the I'm gonna say this. Yeah And anyone listening right now and I swear to fucking god Yeah, I'm about to say something that's more truthful than anything I've ever fucking said before in my life, all right George is a piece of shit You know, no, George is a good guy. He's got it warm. I love you so much. That was so hard to say Hey, that was so fucking hard to say. I know what is going on. Oh, is she calling you out for being pink?
Starting point is 00:29:29 Pink. Oh, you should see his dick. Oh my god. Pink is fucking I'm sorry my bad. Go ahead. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We would call. There's a saying. I heard it. I heard it. George has a pink dick I've heard you had a pink dick. I heard that Yeah, there you go. There you go. Through the grapevine. Yeah, but I want to say this is the most truthful thing I've ever said this is that People listening right now tiger belly fans saved my fucking so I it saved me this podcast and also It's reassuring that, you know, if this show doesn't work or whatever happens in my career doesn't work that I I can I'm always going to do this. That's one thing. I no matter how busy I get we're always going to do this Monday night
Starting point is 00:30:10 and we release it on Wednesday, I don't know when it comes out. I don't know when it comes out, but yeah, but um Um, but this thing right here with Lindsay and stuff like that is I've never been in this position before so It's exciting and a lot of tiger belly fans were tuning in and they were And supportive and I just I just I'm just, you know, thank you everybody. I appreciate it. That's awesome It's nice to be like doing something that you actually really like, you know I know people are probably like, what are you talking about? You're so lucky you're on a tv show But like when it actually
Starting point is 00:30:43 Feels good and the people feel good. Yeah that you work with and you have to spend time with and you know I just have this paranoia that they're gonna replace him with ken jung That's because of the text Yeah, yeah, but like really good. What was your thoughts when bobby, uh, when he was late? Yeah All of it, what did you really think? What did you really think? We were all together because we were shooting a party. So it was the first time that was group scene Yeah, it was the first time that everybody was there Yeah, so the truth is because like every minute the passes costs a good jillion dollars
Starting point is 00:31:20 How much lindsay a good jillion And um, so we were all like it's cool like he'll be here and as it as it clicked by we did start to get because of course They're calling you and everyone's calling you and and then they sent someone to your house And I was like, what is happening and all of a reaction was like, I'm a little nervous I'm like you are why and then and then then I got nervous. Yeah, you know because you were you were like Like You know really late We wrapped and I I mean I I'm telling you right now
Starting point is 00:31:49 I when I was telling the story it's not a lie. It's number one If you're 20 minutes late, it's a problem when you're hours late, right? You're costing people money People are paranoid. They have to you know because when they do a show They don't just improvise it. They the director and the production It's scheduled days in advance where the cameras are going to go so they can be proficient You know and and and milk the day But when somebody's not there it fucks everything up like if we missed your scene like if you missed if we had to reschedule it
Starting point is 00:32:27 It would mean an extra Day or adding it on and making it longer to something else or a company move or like yeah, it would have been awful I'm so glad you're okay I know you would you think though? Well I didn't think it all over Oliver was like do you like maybe he said he relapsed or something, you know, and I was like come on Oliver that's yeah You know, I actually thought you know, I thought something like
Starting point is 00:32:59 Yeah, you must have over slapped or something if you thought I relapsed then why send me a photo of Dr. K You really thought that but actually I was thinking because you said to me that you go to the Korean spas, you know, like if you go at night Yeah, and I was like maybe No, he got trapped. He got trapped. I didn't think death I just thought like maybe you had a particularly long and relaxing night at the Korean spa You know At just in a But you know, honestly what you said to me was that it was usually sleep during the daylight hours, right?
Starting point is 00:33:34 So I was like, well, that's it. It's he's read. He's adjusting his, you know Body clock and when when I was trying to push him out the door. He was so afraid He almost didn't want to go to set because he was like a little kid like I don't want to go. I'm so scared He didn't want to hit, you know reprimanded and I was like Please go and then and then it was so weird because when we were shooting it seemed like it was okay But As the days went on
Starting point is 00:34:02 I tried to lock eyes with Emily Kaepnick. Did I get a producer that apparently likes me so much? I'm so happy I came today Lindsay wouldn't do this and And then she gave me A pass. I'll tell you what she did So there's kids all of her kids were in the scene remember that day. Oh, yeah It was a party scene and there's kids running around and I'm sitting there on a chair right because I had to walk through like a shot and
Starting point is 00:34:32 I see Emily walk toward me, right? Right and she goes to my side She pauses You know what she does? She puts her hand on my shoulder For about five seconds. That's a long time. I know but not like A great job, but like just a hand. Was it firm? No, it was just a placement of like was it like a little bit of a No, it wasn't a claw Yeah, it was it. What if I like my shoulder was bleeding? That's me. Yeah, like a Wolverine like a Wolverine attack Yeah, no, she gently put her hand on my shoulder, right? Yeah
Starting point is 00:35:10 And then she laid it on there for about four five seconds And she does a little light tap and she walked away and we've never it's never been talked about She's probably just really happy. You weren't dead. Yeah, we all were Oh, what what what would happen if I did die? I can't even let's not even talk about what happens I I want to just then that scenario can jump. Well, it clearly can jump No, no, I think your irreplace. Yeah. Yeah. I think they would have got um, Steven you Look exactly alike. Yeah, that's true. That's true. That's true. Yeah. Yeah. Wow. So if this becomes a hit then, you know We're you know, that'll be great. I know
Starting point is 00:35:51 And if it doesn't we're still gonna be great But we won't we won't see each other. Yeah, we will Everyone always says that you you see you see people you've done shows with I do some of my best friends are people that I That I've done shows with Wow I worked with her on um that show eastwick and she lives down the street. She moved on my street We don't see each other as much as you should if you lived on someone, but she's my friend. Wow. Yeah, rebecca romaine Wow, very very good friend mystique
Starting point is 00:36:24 Mystique was she mystique? Yeah. Yeah, she was mystique original mystique. Yeah, you made her on lipstick on um, also eastwick eastwick I mean, yeah, yeah, that was East of lipstick Same same Yeah, because I when I did animal practice, you know, I I worked. I love tyler labine I love justin Kirk so and then you don't speak to them anymore. That's more typical like that's you pretend you you know you during when you're shooting You text each other through the night
Starting point is 00:36:57 You You you plan dinners. Yeah You sometimes you plan getaways and you go sharing something like a common thing, you know, right as soon as it ended I haven't seen any of them not one of them I've seen betsy sedaro because she works at UCB. I'll drive down frankland and I'll see her waddled on the street And I'll honk my horn and go betsy and she goes That was it. That's it. That's it. But you talked to all your mad tv friends though. You guys are super
Starting point is 00:37:29 Not really I mean jordan helped me get that job So they've helped me but that that Maybe it's me. It is you. It's not you She calls it out good wife bad wife It is you and it's not you Tell me why he's really bad at um
Starting point is 00:37:54 Checking in with friends just to say like hey, how you how you doing or even replying to text messages It's it has to be Work related or he's not going to reply I am Even worse than you with text messages. Anyone that knows me will tell you that like i'm Shockingly bad with communication. So maybe We'll actually end up staying friends because we won't have expectations of one another When the show gets canceled, you know, I mean, we'll just be like it'll be cool and no one's going to get their feelings hurt
Starting point is 00:38:21 And we'll like have a meaningful text connection once every year Yeah, but we could call each other friends. No sounds like a korean thing Is it a korean thing? Um, I just like I like to like be in the moment man. Yeah my phone on Yeah, I think I'm I'm much like that too and um, it's just kind of sad to think about but you know at the end of the day it's like I know it's me
Starting point is 00:38:51 And now now i'm getting into issues Of my character defects and about things I need to improve about myself But will they change? Probably not i'm stuck in my ways and um And I hate that about myself. There's a lot of character defects that I have about myself that I fucking hate Ah, come on. You're like what? Come on. Yeah Come on. No. No. No. No. I want to go down this rabbit hole. ABC's new No, I want to know I want to go down this rabbit hole. This is what divas did is what
Starting point is 00:39:20 You think I'm doing that? Yeah, you're doing a tv star self deprecation thing. Oh my character defects. Come on, Bobby Oh, I live a good life. You're really? I live a good life. I love it. Gold. I love gold I want to know one like I just want to know one character defect. Yeah, and then we can move on I like to know things. I have a I have an OCD obsession As she knows like for instance American Idol. Oh my god, you guys. I know. So it's doing my head in. I can't even describe
Starting point is 00:39:54 I want the same episodes American Idol 80 or 90 times so like the last hollywood one. I've seen it. You asked me frame by frame What's in the frame of each shot? He knows the extras. He knows people in the audience what the each audience members reaction is Each frame. Yeah. Yeah. I know everything about it. I watch it 24 seven But that's a charming and quirky. It's like not I have to tell you it's psychotic It's like serial killer life. Yes. It is It's weird. Yeah, but what's what? How does it affect?
Starting point is 00:40:32 You know, the war right, right? I'm not gonna like, you know, you know create a human trafficking business Which I would love to do one day, but I don't have the means You know, I'm lazy the capital. I don't have a dungeon, but um, I did hear you like we are dressing room walls are super thin And I did hear you listen to a lot of um performances And then like you would repeat Actually, like I was like, oh, it's so weird I told you it's weird like super endearing like I was just imagining you in there like Watching your you know
Starting point is 00:41:06 Performances I loved that but I I I go to stardew valley the reason why I love it so much the video game Is because there's four seasons, right? And you plant The same crops You and then when they grow you pick it up And you do it season by season. I do it 24 seven. I just like repetitive things too as well Okay, and it's really just weird and I just don't know why I'm like that I'll tell you something weird that I do there. We go. This is all I wanted to get this out of you. This is it's stupid
Starting point is 00:41:40 It's probably less weird than yours, but Mine's more normal If it's not weird, it's gonna really bump me out. So make it weird if I have to this it's go to the bathroom once a day like every day That's weird. I um I every time I cross a crosswalk I can't I have to count the You know the white mine And I ask myself a question like am I going to get this job or does this person like me or something?
Starting point is 00:42:13 And then I and it's yes. No. Yes. No. Yes. No, and that's the answer Right and like I can't and if I forget to do it. I have to go back and do it It's a little bit weird. Yeah, you have a little bit of an ocd thing. Yeah. Yeah, or like numbers I'll all look at this time and I'll add up all the numbers and I'll reduce it down to one number And if it's an odd number, it's a good day and if it's an even number I'm gonna have that's pretty weird. It's weird, right? Like it's kind of tell her what you do, babe What the fuck will sprinkle on the feet? Yeah I just sprinkle my feet with water or else I can't go on with my day
Starting point is 00:42:46 Like how I will psychologically like shrivel and I'll look through the crack of like the door She's not just leaves the door and I can see her like taking a shit Right, right, but I while I'm doing it. I and she's like sprinkling water From the sink. No, she has a pot of water. Well, because I'm Filipino. We have the towel So we have to wash when we um, you know go to the bathroom, right? And so I bring I always have a tub of water next to me and I I dip both of my hands in And I just let it rain on my feet. I have to do that every time. You know what that sounds lovely I don't think it's weird. Yeah, spot treatment. Yeah, where do we get these weird things though?
Starting point is 00:43:26 Like that's bizarre. It's weird. Yeah, what and if I have that too, if I don't touch this Doorknob with both hands three times That someone's gonna leave my head. I think someone's gonna die or something bad's gonna happen. What is that technically OCD or is it like? I think that's just a Like probably some I don't think it's OCD as it like an actual disorder, right? But it has some traits of it, right? If it doesn't You know get in the way of your daily life. I don't think it's a problem But if it's driving you crazy, what if it's routine asian superstition
Starting point is 00:44:01 I think my mom was super super. She was my mom was very superstitious So I do do weird things like that. I'm like, I cannot sleep a full night unless I do like a backflip and then you know No Weird things like yeah You just see her. Yeah. Yeah, like my my mom like when you when you get your period You have to take like three steps forward and then she has to throw a flower at your face Yeah, like weird shit like I'm like why she was oh, you're a woman now. You're gonna have a good way And it's like I don't have a good flower on my face. I'm good and free now. What are you doing?
Starting point is 00:44:33 Yeah, I have a weird one. What I've never shared. Oh gosh, and we might have to cut this out because it's so weird But I don't know if you know this but I have a bad left foot I did not I did not I would be very weird This is actually really good information for you to have since you'll be working with him If you have to touch the split in the scene never touch never just just you know, don't touch my left Clear from the foot from the feet. She's freaking out now. It's rotting away. It's about it, but it's rotting away. It's a fungus It's a fungus. What do you mean exactly? What do you mean? What do you mean? It's a flutter. It's a fucking fungus lady
Starting point is 00:45:08 I understand but like does that mean that like you like like like the bottoms are disappearing? Yeah It's just turning bright green Seriously, how did you get that? Well, I can fix it, but I refuse to turn and spine I know it, but I sometimes I do this. I should now already now. It's weird You already said if I'll shave the bottom. No, no, I do something different. Oh, it's new. Yeah, something I've never shared before nervous. Okay so sometimes Sometimes I'll strip some skin from it. Uh-huh, right?
Starting point is 00:45:42 And it'll be like a certain length and width, right? Okay, and then I have to strip two more Okay, the same exact size Right. I'm picturing you do this in such a specific way. Yeah, and if I don't do it, are you counting in your head? Yeah Yes, no, yes So at first it was just that right At first it was just that right but remember we had the clock where we would look in the ceiling So I had this projection clock and it would hit the ceiling so when the darkness you can see what time it is
Starting point is 00:46:20 Cool. So when I wake up in the morning and I open my eyes, I'll have to turn my head. I'm lazy. Okay But so when she's sleeping I'll strip like one strip off of my leg foot I mean, but I'll look at the clock and I have to do it before it hits a certain time So I put an extra like challenge on the element of danger to it So it's is that weird? Yes Please stop Yeah, but you know what I'm sharing
Starting point is 00:46:50 I feel close to you and I'm sharing things about for you know things to you one day. We'll have like a barefoot Um person no, you don't you don't it's like my foot situation. I'm not gonna lie like it's not good like underneath I think it's from ballet like here's a ballet and also high heels like lots of time. Well, it's not corns it's like just like My kids say that I have like troll feet like I don't have to wear shoes That's not wait, but I don't think it's that bad. I'd like to compare. I'd like to see is it a layer of skin What is it? It's just I've got tough feet. Yeah, it's it's like it's it's actually a good thing to have because you're not tenderfooted
Starting point is 00:47:28 It's called kubal So when you go to let's say for instance, you know how like some people They can just take their shoes off and then just run across like sharp glass or fire. I come And You have a show on venice boardwalk Totally, actually, I probably could do you remember that the show that um stars circus of the stars a you don't oh god Yeah, he doesn't know anything. Yeah Anyway, sorry, I love that. I love that you did that damn
Starting point is 00:48:01 Anyway, it's so hard to tell you know like asian people like we're all yeah, do your guys is um Um, does your mom Tell you not to express or make expressions to save your face from wrinkling. Um My mom know but my friend's mom's definitely like they also tell you I think that's korean A certain way right because you don't want the pressure on your face Like if you're a side sleeper and you also cannot sleep in an incline because then your the gravity takes over So you have to sleep this way so your Symmetry is good. Yeah, we don't have we don't form wrinkles while you sleep. I think that's a very
Starting point is 00:48:36 Koreans are so so weird, right? I would do that and not yeah, and not smile too hard No, don't we need to take pictures just really stoic, you know was your mom like your mom. Okay. How does your mom and dad mean? My my mom and dad This sounds so weird, but it's not I assure you my my my mother was adopted by my dad's family She was like one of the first ever to be adopted out of korea. I haven't told you. No, it's fucking weird. Okay already So my grandfather was one of the founders of world vision It's you know, they would go into third world countries and like get children to be sponsored So for 20 bucks a month you could you know save a child's life. So world vision went to korea
Starting point is 00:49:17 after the war and Put together a choir of orphans to like tour the world and thank all the countries for their you know aid in the war My mom was in the choir and then my grandfather adopted her brought her to the states when she was 13 and he had a biological son How old was six years older? Yeah, and he was like in the new wait wait your mom was how old 13 My mom and dad are brother and sister by adoption is what I'm trying to get to Okay That's not weird because in clueless share gets with her stepbrother. Yeah for real the movie clueless is based on Woody Allen did it too with his daughter
Starting point is 00:49:51 That's weird That's what the story Is that blood related? I have an admission then okay And this is kind of sad because he has since passed but I had sex with my stepbrother Did you did you know that? He has he's passed away and don't say anything, you know bad, but he was you know, we were friends We met in high school. I know I know I know who it is. Yeah. Yeah, I didn't know that and he's Now but but at the time it wasn't what do you mean?
Starting point is 00:50:22 Was at the time was your mom and and and roger together Punching it in the house. Um, actually it might have been just before They actually started dating because I knew well then the at you you were in the clear You did in the window where you yeah, I wasn't doing anything with him by the time they got together Yeah, yeah, but still I mean that's we would still see each other do family, you know occasions I'm like, oh god. He's my stepbrother now. Yeah, but this you know what when it's not blood related It's it gets weird when it's blood related. Yeah. No, it's not. Yeah, so your parents are cool Look, he was six years older. They didn't actually live in the same house because he was you know out, but like she was
Starting point is 00:50:58 13 when she came wow she went into a sanitarium because she had tuberculosis like she had a rough start here and then when she came out she like my mom was 20,000 times more beautiful than any woman you've ever seen she's just like wow So of course he fell in love with her. Wow, and they um, they're still together. Super. They are all so cute And it's love and for me like I always grew up thinking that the story was super romantic It is romantic. Well, I told somebody the story and Curtis was like my husband was like don't Tell that story anymore and it really kind of like rocks me. I was like, what do you mean?
Starting point is 00:51:33 It's romantic. He's like, honey, there's people out there that would be like Super offended and think that it's really bizarre. He's like, I don't think you should tell it So it's not anyway. It's not It's not I don't know. I'll tell you why I'll tell you why it's not. I'll tell you why it's not It's like she was 13 Right, right. So she had all this whole life experience with a note with with her orphanage And your dad was already an adult. Your dad was already an adult. It's not fucking weird at all And he'd like take her out like they'd go to fuck you Curtis
Starting point is 00:52:03 Fuck you man. Fuck when he was like and listen don't go to when now It's a great restaurant. It's the best food we've ever had. The best food we've ever had. It was amazing I didn't realize you liked shikudori so much. Um, that's my that's my that's my fucking jam. That's his diet Shikudori is my yeah, it's my jam. I love cheeses. I love breads. I love little fig things. Yeah, we've got all that fruit stuff We've got all that over at Gwen. Yeah. Yeah, it really is a great restaurant. How did you guys meet? Yeah a blind date Oh, I had a friend that was like you're done. I'd been married before I got married really young And then I got a divorce and then I moved to New York and I was just dating like Any guy that was like duck taping his shoes together and was a drummer in a band. I loved him
Starting point is 00:52:50 Super super cerebral oversensitive Jewish guys love them, you know Like we'd fight all the time and like that was my thing and my friend was like you're choosing Look, it's just not right for you. You need A man that's not in the business like not an artist. You need like a real man That's gonna take care of you and you know be like Kind of old-fashioned and she's like I got the guy and he serfs We used to surf before we had but who is his friend? It's my friend Leslie. Okay, and um She said you're gonna marry him
Starting point is 00:53:20 And I and I was 45 minutes late to the date because I totally forgot that I made it like I wasn't into it I didn't google him. She said he's a chef. I was like, I like food. Let's go and then You know that's it and he um was like I walked in and he was so I mean dreamy that I thought It was gonna be a failure because I I typically don't I think guys that look like that are trouble. You know, yeah, yeah Um And then you know the second date he made me this whiskey Chocolate mousse. Of course he did because I knew that I love whiskey in the first date I drank it's like a Jedi using like a power like a rock or something. Yeah. Yeah, the chefs do. Yeah
Starting point is 00:54:00 I love food too. So it was you know, like a clear way to but he he saw that I liked whiskey On the first date and the second date. He's like, why don't you come in for a whiskey? And when I came in he'd made this chocolate mousse and how well how did how did it taste? I'm just super good and she was asking what her breakfast like when he's in town and stuff Imagine what? Curtis stone breakfasts are like she's asleep. You wake up. You smell something cooking You why you smell something cooking, right? Can you be Lindsay waking up? Oh, uh, that was a great dream. I had about unicorns and like um the good life think about that
Starting point is 00:54:40 and the good life and then um Oh, I smell something cooking Like that. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, he said It's like looking in a mirror Whiskey truffle oil egg puree and then yes. No. Yes. No. Yes. No. Yes. Yes. Yes, it is Then you walk into the kitchen and then what do you see? What do you see? He's like he's it's mostly about the kids. So he's gone out to the Veggie garden and he's like made this incredible kale beat
Starting point is 00:55:08 Sweet goodness for the kids. Oh, I hate you, but right you you don't deserve it Fuck you. I can make that too. I love you And you know like make hash browns and then like cut out of heart Oh, he does that he does those cute shapes. Oh, it's like not something Yeah, so how are cooking duties then like do you who are you allowed to is he let you cook? He's like I got this he's actually like Like Aussies and I don't know if it's all Aussies and I'm categorizing because he's the one I know I feel like Aussie men
Starting point is 00:55:44 And women have like clear boundaries of the male and female roles. Does that make sense? So he would love it if I was like at home cooking like dinner on the everyone would write like dinner on the table and I'm just I'm so not good like he had to teach me how to Like open an avocado like he had to teach me everything because I was always on Sets and like ordering takeout and you know, I get it. So it's kind of it's a bad deal for him because he could probably Do better with the woman that was like more Yeah, domestic and whatever But I had to learn for the kids. So, you know, like we're gonna die if I don't make food because he's in the restaurants every night
Starting point is 00:56:25 Yeah, yeah You how to do some skills. Yeah for sure. Like I know the basics Yeah, and then he tries really hard not to criticize what I do. Yeah, that must be interesting. It's all it's kind of odd Like I made a Slow cooked like a cocoa von kind of thing. Okay, cocoa right and this and I tried it This is how like overconfident I was I tried it maybe five dates in And he came over and I didn't take the skin. You know those little pearl onions I didn't like take the skins off. So he was just like kind of
Starting point is 00:56:54 I was like, how is it, you know, and he said it's good and then he went in and got a baguette and some mustard and some and he made this like amazing sandwich and And then um, what is that? Is that me? It's Curtis It's fucking Curtis. It's fucking Curtis Oh guys, I'm sorry. It's all right, but you know, you know, you you look oh, it's so funny Hey, was it? Yeah, you know what I did for Kaleila? What you know what I gave her what itchy vagina for my foot Yeah, my my my fucking
Starting point is 00:57:30 I would I call it a new age romance. You know, it's not um, very traditional. Yeah, it's a cocoa bond I wouldn't even call it a Korean kind of love right? It's what are we talking about right now? I was you know, I was I was scratching breakfast. Oh, well He gives me an itchy vagina. I was scratching my foot my left. I'm not does a real story Then see this? Yeah I was scratching my left foot right and then a finger banger and she got an itchy vagina. Oh, see that's so much better I always thought that you stuck your foot In the vagina. Oh, yeah, there we go like a little uncomfortable
Starting point is 00:58:04 Yeah, but that was now like it makes perfect. Thank you so romantic. She's a great tv wife if we're gonna I'm glad it's you. It's you. Yeah, that's right. I feel like you could learn a lot from this kind of Korean You know what I mean? Just like, you know learn some, you know, just refine. He needs to smoothen out the edges a little But don't make expressions. Yeah sleep on your back What are we doing at time? We're at an hour. I can't fucking believe it. That's amazing You know what a podcast is good when you the just time flies linds. That was fun We're not done yet. We're almost done. We're almost done. We're not quite done yet. I gotta go Yeah, I know you I know, you know, you got shit to do but just give me a second. Okay at the end
Starting point is 00:58:48 What we do is we call do a thing called unhelpful advice Okay, and it's an email from one of our fans our listeners and we try to give them advice and then we wrap it up Okay, but the advice has to be it can be helpful or just protect us when I say it's unhelpful That's what we call it that okay Unhelpful advice with barbie kalayla at Lindsay price second city right there. I Would like to get your opinion I found an amazing girl and we can talk for hours and I seem to connect with her so easily She's also a big fan of tiger valley after a couple of days
Starting point is 00:59:22 She messaged me and said she just wants to be friends mainly because I live in australia And she is in the states She said that she would totally go out with me if I live closer But she wants us to stop growing our feelings towards each other I like her enough to know that she's special. She is a special one and she is good for me And I want to keep talking to her. What should I do? Nat pk You're not gonna move for a girl damal good But he's in australia. He's in australia. It's Kurdistan's brother. Oh, I was gonna say this sounds familiar
Starting point is 00:59:57 Is it Kurdistan's brother? That's a long flight guys. That's a I've done a long-distance relationship with the guy from australia australian bane I know. I yeah Oh, yeah, that was that's way too long of a flight Even for me. It was and it's expensive And I don't know how that's just it wasn't sustainable for me at all I mean we dated probably for a year and I that was my max was like, you know, I can't do this but they could like
Starting point is 01:00:25 communicate right Via email and and you know talk on the phone and it's a skype and whatever else Yeah, and then if it's good enough someone can move you can always move like some like life isn't that Perned I'm gonna say something that's the most helpful thing. I really believe this and this is Usually my advice is you shouldn't take because it's fucked up What I would do Is I was like, okay, you want to be friends? Okay, we'll be friends and just keep it at that and
Starting point is 01:00:59 Have a make a relationship based on friendship And then she might change You know, I mean her feelings. I would do a long game on the because there's nothing because the only option After that is moving and that's not a guarantee. In fact, I would feel weirded out if a woman Moved from a different country just to see if she wanted to date me. I'm like, no, that's needy and weird and yeah I won't want intrusive. Yeah, there's no way expectations. So true because when I dated that guy He stayed here for seven weeks and I couldn't wait to get him out Because we had just started seeing each other and it was still relatively new and he was like
Starting point is 01:01:34 I got a ticket to go there and I felt depression. I'm like, well, you're gonna be in my house For seven weeks. I got to host you and I don't know you that well We're still kind of seeing if we even want to go there But then that commitment because he's already flown 17 hours and I'm like, shit How do I tell him to pack his bags and go? Yeah, you're gonna fuck it up by being Needy so I just be friends And keep it at that and if you know if you get something, you know, if it grows into something else, that's cool But a friendship is cool too. And there's plenty of girls in australia. You'll find somebody
Starting point is 01:02:06 Damn it. There's lots of fish in them. There's a lot of fish. How old is this kid? Did he say no age? What's his name pk pk? Yeah, he's 12 He's 12 years old Young love let's say go for it. Lindsay. You want to promote something or no? Yeah, I want to promote splitting up together It's navies the hit comedy can't even say it without stuttering. I know smash I'm splitting up together It said what if it was that the internet email said that it in 10 years what? No, no, no the premiere. They said that in a lot of years
Starting point is 01:02:45 Nothing has ever has rated as well in this time slot. I think it's like four years. Oh four years Oh in 10 years only three shows did better. That's what it was like the premiere of scrubs, right? Yeah So I might I might know you for five or six years here or Or I may never see you again. I may never see you again You know that makes me and but fuck Oliver Hudson because since Tuesday night Yeah, since I've been fucking texting that motherfucker the great numbers than that And he gave me like it went well
Starting point is 01:03:20 And that's it and I texted him a bunch of times. So you guys have like a text He's the worst at texting and we've we've had him on the show and he admitted it and um, I'm done with him this this week Yeah, yeah, but you think And then we'll wait a year and then Jenna might do it Or why all year? Yeah, because I I love her and it's we're very friendly and I love her. I really do But I think that it's reverence. It has like a right. I have a fear of her and also I don't have any The scenes that I had with her are like
Starting point is 01:03:54 In a party or it's never like So I don't I wasn't able to like hang out with her just her and I and get to know her in that way Yeah, whereas Lindsay had and I had a lot of like downtime where we sat around for hours talking She's fancy like she's fancier than you and me though. She's pretty fucking fancy. You know what I mean? Yeah Yeah, yeah, yeah, so I yeah, what is she on a Shakata a Shakutiri platter like figs. She's no she's like a Caviar. Oh, she's a caviar All right, like a dry age like some kind of rag. What are you guys? I'm the pickle on the corner of the thing that people don't even know to eat
Starting point is 01:04:26 I think it's just like yeah, what is it? Yeah, what are you on it? I'm the I'm like the bread fresh out of the oven You like me a lot and you can't do it without me I'm not that like yeah, I'm not fancy like All right, anyway, um Well, we're both not fancy.
