See, you ruined it, that's a giggaroo in the whole act of gif giving When you're like, let me just tell you, but what are you even't even wrap it then the whole she did it at the place. We she oh Yeah, yeah, I go to my ex's girl boy from girlfriend. Oh boyfriend
Starting point is 00:01:37 And he goes what doesn't make any sense I go her birthday I mean, you know you should just call me honestly. you should just refer to me as your ex-boyfriend. My ex-boyfriend, and I go, oh my. She was a bird, I go, don't wrap it, well, I'm just gonna wrap it. I can open it. It's candles. I, oh my God.
Starting point is 00:01:55 Yeah, I mean, there's two kinds. There's two different kinds. You know what's so funny? You did it for your house, it smells like shit. I'm kidding, I love your house. Wow. My house for your house. It smells like shit. I'm kidding. I love your house. My house smells so good. It smells so good.
Starting point is 00:02:08 That's why I want more smells. You're so projecting right now because your house smells like... It smells like Daria. Daria. Daria. Yeah, my house always smells amazing. Yeah, anyway, you're welcome. There's two types.
Starting point is 00:02:20 Okay, do you want to explain why you chose each? Why I just smelled them ago, that's her. Wait, let me see what her is. Alright. Okay. Oh my god, these are huge. I think the other one's bigger. No way.
Starting point is 00:02:36 Okay, this one is Marrakesh Udd Tabak. That's right. So it's Tabakal. No, it sounded like Filipino. Marrakesh. Right, so I smell like Marrakesh and Tabakal. Well, when I smelled it, it smelled like you, That's right. So it's tobacco? No, it sounded like Filipino. Marrakesh. Right, so I smell like Marrakesh and tobacco. Well, when I smelled it, smell like you, that's all.
Starting point is 00:02:49 Okay, I like it. And the other one is. Yeah, this is great. You think it's great content or no? I'm loving this. I've got Susie Kakes for everyone too. I just got up early and I bought some things for everybody. Okay, what's that one?
Starting point is 00:03:03 I guess it's the same size. That's a massive candy. Yeah, that's a massive. Okay, this one is. Okay, what's that one? I guess it's the same size. That's our massive camera. These are massive. Okay, this one is. Okay, how much? Oh, it's a street in, in, oh, it's fig. It's fig. It's fig and cypress. Yes, I love fig.
Starting point is 00:03:18 Who doesn't? Yeah, who doesn't like it? Doesn't like it. Oh my god. Everyone, I love figs, the actual fruit. Anyway, happy birthday. Was this when you went to go ask where to buy sheets? What do you mean?
Starting point is 00:03:33 I got a text, it's, okay, I read the text. It's the cutest thing I've ever read in my life. I can't get over it. Why are you shaming me in front of everyone in the world? I think it was, it says, if bed, bath, and beyond is closed, where do people buy blankets, pillows, and sheets? I had no idea. Can I say that is a good question?
Starting point is 00:03:51 Because if that's where you went for all your life to get everything, it's bed, bath stuff, and beyond stuff. What about our sponsor, Brooklyn? I don't know. I don't know. Here's the thing with our sponsors, right? You guys never give me shit.
Starting point is 00:04:06 I always ask you for the fucking the pills. Yeah, I want dick pills. How many times have I said the dick pills? I've come here every week, no dick pills, man. So I don't know how I'm gonna go get that. Give him his dick pills, you guys. What are my dick pills, dude? I've been taking your dick pills.
Starting point is 00:04:22 You get any fucked a lot? Your boyfriend? Don't talk about that. I don't want that. I'm your ex pills. You get a fucked a lot? Your boyfriend? Don't talk about that. I don't want that. I'm your ex boyfriend. Yeah, so the Choo kind, what's it called? Blue Choo. Blue Choo.
Starting point is 00:04:32 Yeah. That one's ours. Yeah, so they're not with us anymore? I don't think that was one of ours. No, it's not one of ours. It's a different podcast. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Sorry.
Starting point is 00:04:41 Well, the other one. It's dick dick. Dick dick is good. ED pills. My point is they close permanently the whole company. Wait, dick dick dick dick dick dick dick is good. ED post my point is they close permanently the whole company. Wait, definitely. Your follow-up test. Yeah, bet bet beyond is done.
Starting point is 00:04:51 What? Yeah, that's all I can do. Thank you. Well, you guys are like six months late. Wait, what? You can just shut that down. It's like one day they go, yeah, Starbucks and coffee bean are no longer out of nowhere.
Starting point is 00:05:02 That's it. Where do you get the coffee? Wait, this is good. I was laughing earlier like, oh, this is silly, but yeah, that's crazy. So I said go to parachute and you reply to that is, I hate hemp. Yeah, I hate hemp.
Starting point is 00:05:16 Is it hemp? But they don't have, well, when I went there one time because I was getting pizza by it and I walked in there and I felt one of them and you know the rough, yeah. You know how it's like rougher? Like cotton silk, you know.
Starting point is 00:05:29 Me too. Yeah, so it's like, I got, so I went to parachute twice now. I bought some for the little room and last night I went to got, and got new pillows and blankets for the big room. I like parachute lights, expensive though. That being said, welcome. Welcome. I got Susie Cakes too, if anyone would like. For my birthday too. Just in general for celebratory reasons. Oh George, it's for your birthday. Happy birthday.
Starting point is 00:05:56 What's your birthday? A couple days before my... Oh yeah, yeah. I mean, no. Happy birthday, dude, and I'm really happy holder, you know Fuck man. Wow, how'd you celebrate you went to Catalina? What you have go ahead oh What kind of campus site did you have oh? Beautiful one. I don't care. What did you have what sickness? I? Don't know if you don't test you never did you have? What sickness? I don't know. If you don't test, you never get COVID anymore.
Starting point is 00:06:26 That's what I figured out. Dude, that's my fucking monotid. I'll tell you what I had the past two days in Mexico. Oh, he did. His massive diarrhea and vomit. Oh, what'd you eat? He got Montezuma's revenge. Oh, problem.
Starting point is 00:06:39 At the quito or a agor fresco. And how did you, here are my two experiences in Mexico. I love it. One, pujol. Wow. To have money and to eat food like that. You went? Yes.
Starting point is 00:06:52 When? Three, four days ago. Look, is it everything, like everyone says? It's fantastic. No, don't, don't push me though. I don't like your smile. Don't push me though. I'm not pushing you dude.
Starting point is 00:07:03 I said, I'm directing you. I said it's fantastic. It was an amazing experience. But it's not what everyone like your smile. Push, don't push me though. I'm not pushing you dude. I said, I'm directing you. I said it's fantastic. It was an amazing experience. But it's not what everyone says. What do people say? I mean, it's only been featured on every. Number 17, the best restaurant in the world. It's up there.
Starting point is 00:07:17 But 17. How would he know if he's never been the number one restaurant in the world? You asked me this on text. It was a great experience, but I was thinking like, what would you think, you two think if you were there?
Starting point is 00:07:27 I don't think, I think you guys would probably have like a couple LA restaurants above it. Really? Really? But here's the thing with Bobby, he is very like, you like ants on corn? I do. Okay.
Starting point is 00:07:40 I like, and do you like ants on corn? I don't know what an ant is, but is that an herb? It's an actual insect. What ant? I don't know what an is but is that an herb? It's an actual insect what I don't know what an I thought it was like a Mexican corn or something Oh Ant bro, I don't know like most answers then actual ant yeah, oh wow no no Yeah, I was the first course. Oh, it was good. That was great. Look, the whole thing was wonderful.
Starting point is 00:08:09 I'm just saying, oh wow, because you build this up from Washington documentary. You see it fall in love with the story. I'm all about that. It's just like, I think I need to be surprised when I go. See, that's what I say. Because I watched it all. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:19 I was like, oh, I know what I'm experiencing. Yes. But can I say something? Boo. So, they have a restaurant in LA. Uh-huh. I know what I'm experiencing. Yes. But can I say something? Boo. So what was that? They have a restaurant in LA. Uh-huh. Yeah, Damien.
Starting point is 00:08:29 Damien, we've been there. I've been there. Maybe 10 times in my life. How do you, you've been there at 10 times? Oh, yeah. Why? Dates. Oh, no, that's great.
Starting point is 00:08:37 It's a great, great spot. It's a great, great spot. OK, I'll say this about Damien. It's a cool spot. It's a great, very, very dark spot. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Like the bar, it's aesthetically just so sexy to be inside there. So I get the date park number.
Starting point is 00:08:47 When you asked me, where should I take a date? I said Damien. You never said that. But anyway, every single spot you've gone on a date has been a recmanstation. No, I went there with Jake Gyllenhaal. Your first time going to Damien was with me, dumb, dumb. Why?
Starting point is 00:09:01 Went to Damien with Jake Gyllenhaal. With five other guys, yeah, but I was invited to the... Why did you just say it? He was on the table, we talked. But it's not so intimate. But he was a say, yeah, I'm vibabby, so I went. Okay. And it was with, you know, I can't tell you who's at El Susai,
Starting point is 00:09:14 but it was a bunch of cool dudes. It was guys nine out, right? And I went there for the first time, I go, this is really great, but I knew it was a Damien thing. And then when I had their mole, because in the chef's table on Netflix, they talk about the mole, and when you see it on chef's table, your mouth waters,
Starting point is 00:09:33 you go, I'll never have mole in my life. That is the best thing in the menu. I know, but I had to give you what it was, mole, it was mole, you know, but it wasn't like, oh man, I'd sell my house, you know, whatever to get this or what. What meals would you sell your house for? I don't think it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it's it Top five of all time was the sourdough bread at Pasta Bar in Austin. See like that meal, that was very surprising. That meal wasn't up. Some of the surprising.
Starting point is 00:10:11 Yeah, it was very good. Dude, that meal was great. It was incredible. That was good. One of the greats. One of the best I've ever had. That was up there. It was up there.
Starting point is 00:10:20 Margarita, what's up? What? That's the chef, your friend. Margarita. Okay. So is your friend, Margarita, what's up? What? That's the chef, your friend, your friend Margarita. Okay. So that is your friend, Margarita, what's up? That was a great place. And, you know, and I've gotten,
Starting point is 00:10:33 I've been to a lot of great places since, but you know, Margarita probably has to be, no, what's it called? Post-A-Bar has to be one of the better places, but I wanna say that, so you're saying that is it worth for me to fly all the way to Mexico City? Yes, just to go there.
Starting point is 00:10:49 Yes, it is the worth experience. Can I say something that might hurt you a little bit? No. I had planned already, like, healthy. I had planned an entire weekend for us to go as a surprise to you, but then Yeah, oh that thing
Starting point is 00:11:09 Relapse and that hiccup that we really he relapsed and broke we broke I know I'll have to see the receipts Yeah, I'm glad they say that you can look at my can you know what you know? Where were you gonna take her before I talked to Elon? We're gonna go to Mars, baby Get missed out the cap on Mars dude, and I was gonna to Mars, baby. Hey, get missed out. Yeah, the cap, the Mars dude, and I was gonna take you to Mars dude. Yeah, my fucked up. There's a larva, they found a new larva there. And?
Starting point is 00:11:30 Edible. Get up. So good. Damn. But you're gonna miss on that. Anyway, see, anyone can play that game. Do you understand what I'm saying? No, but I'm not kidding you.
Starting point is 00:11:41 Yeah. I got you a Porsche too. You missed out, missed out, and ordered everything. I'm not a Porsche. But anyway, anyway, happy what happened to you. Oh, how was Disneyland? Wait, how about this? Just talk about what the concierge experience was like
Starting point is 00:11:55 in Disneyland, because that was the first time you'd done that. It's, I can't imagine going to Disneyland without it. It's one of those things where, like if you don't think about how much it costs, then you're just kinda like, oh, that's cool. If you think about it, you're like, oh, I'll probably do once every 10 years. And then they just take you in through the exit
Starting point is 00:12:17 and you're always in the front of the rides. This is what happens. You show, you valet for free, which is great, at the hotel, that nice hotel that they have. And then you meet them by the fireplace. Where's the fireplace? I don't know, it's in the hotel. I think it's two hours to find the fireplace.
Starting point is 00:12:33 But I finally find the fireplace and I meet her and she is delightful. She's like, hi, I'm your tour guide. I go, okay, what were we doing? Whatever you want. That's pretty great. Which is great, right? Great response.
Starting point is 00:12:51 And she dressed up a certain way. Yeah, they're dressed like, um, yeah, um, you know how, like, you know, the, um, in Germany, they have the, the beer, the beer dancers. The frau lines. The frau lines, yeah, they look like that. The frau line, what do you call it? What do you call the, what the, the beer dance. The frau lines. The frau lines, yeah, they look like that. The frau line, what do you call it?
Starting point is 00:13:06 I don't even know what you call it. The beer dancers. The milkmaid. The milkmaid. The leaderhosen. Yeah, it's got that kind of vibe to it, right? She's wearing a skirt, stockings, one of those. She's Hispanic.
Starting point is 00:13:20 Yeah. Classic. Classic concierge. Exactly. That's not what I was saying. I was not trying to go for it. I guess, yeah. So then what you do is you obviously go into the thing,
Starting point is 00:13:33 you don't have to wait in line, just go right into Disneyland, and then I'm like, well, what do we do? She's like, what rides you wanna go on? And you kind of go, these are the 20 I wanna do. And they go, okay, let's do this, this, this, and then just in order, we just go to the ride that you want to go on. I mean, in terms of area.
Starting point is 00:13:51 So we go to Frontierland, you're going to go, you know what I mean, do these rides there. The first ride we went on, and this has never happened before in my life, it's a roller coaster, and halfway during it, it just stopped. Yes. So we're up like, you know, when we're going out like this, it's stopped.
Starting point is 00:14:11 We were there for 25 minutes. Oh man. And then also, excuse me, we have a mental function on what we got into. How, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how, how So somebody will come and then you see people, you know, they put like a walkway over the tracks so they can walk over and then you have to walk all the way down through, it was crazy. Jets you get off completely. We had completely got off.
Starting point is 00:14:36 But what's funny is there was a three hour line to get on that line and I got to laugh at everyone. I mean that way to the line that couldn't get on it. I was like, in your face. You know what I mean? That was fun. So then after that, we went to all the other ones. And what you do is you just cut out
Starting point is 00:14:55 the longest weight is five minutes maybe. Well then, how long did it take you to get through all the rides? Like what time were you at this? They went from, well, because it was lightsaber business. So we went from 10, not like 10 o'clock to five. Oh, that's not, that's actually great.
Starting point is 00:15:11 Great, perfect. Really quick. 10 to five lightsaber business, which is a whole thing. What's, you just purchased lightsaber? No, no, no, my friend. There's another thing where real Jedi's had, they help you. There's another thing where real Jedi's, they help you. What's up stuff in your body, chloro-mentorion? What's the stuff that makes a Jedi?
Starting point is 00:15:32 Kids are born with it. The paddewons are born with it. It's not the matat. Look it up. Gotta go back. There's something. Made chlorians. Made chlorians.
Starting point is 00:15:42 Made chlorians. People with McClorians. So you do is you have to make an appointment. You show up and you're in this little Star Wars village, like kind of Tatooinee, right? And they come and they come, are you in the dark side or are you a part of the resistance? I go, hey man, what the fuck are you talking about, dude?
Starting point is 00:16:01 I'm in LA, bitch. No, I go, I had to pretend, I go. I'm a part of the resistance. Oh, okay. I made a voice like that, too. It's your nod. I know, I'm dark side. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:13 And then they give you a pin, and then you go in. And there's only six of you. It is dark, and there's smoke, and also, you know what I mean? Spiritual music. And a lady comes out and she goes welcome Patagon. We're partner pair Patawons Paragon welcome powder ones, you know, I mean join the risk, you know right? And then like then this thing comes up and you actually make a lightsaber from handle to crystal to all of it. Oh wow.
Starting point is 00:16:47 It's a whole fucking thing. We did that and then we ate and then we did the rides and we left it. Wait, is this, when you make the lightsaber, like, can you purchase it? Yeah, it's a collile, of course. Oh. It's been $500 just to fucking go through that exercise.
Starting point is 00:17:04 Oh, it's a $500 just a fucking go through that exercise. Oh, it's a it's a $500 extra thing. Yes $500. Oh my God. Yeah, I didn't know I if I would have known I would have done it It was a bill afterwards. Okay, it was a spring experience. Yeah, yeah, but It's Joel McHale here yet It's Joel McHell here yet. Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da- The soup anyway pretty good. That was I just made it up. That is true. No one thought differently Yeah, no, that was great. Thank you so much. That was nice of you You live near me. We've worked together before but I have to ask you a question
Starting point is 00:21:19 May I ask you a question? No Who would like to ask me a question other than Bob? Go ahead, do you have a question? Yeah, I have one. Go ahead. Here's my question. It's what I said. My question. My question is...
Starting point is 00:21:35 Is this just one question for the entire... No, there's a million things we talk about, but like I need to... I want to ease into you. That's not what I'm talking about. Yeah, that sounds so sad. That's not what I'm talking about. Hey. I want to ease into you. That's not what I love. You're the sound so weird. That's not cool. I want to ease into it.
Starting point is 00:21:49 I don't, I don't think you need ease. It's wide open. Let's go to the right. That's good. That's good. I would love something to drink. All right. We have water there.
Starting point is 00:21:59 Nah, I can see that. Okay. You don't like it. No, what else have you got? You want liquor? No. Oh. Do you drink liquor? I'll drink some of this, not with lemon. Well, you know, it's pretty good try it I'll try it. Yeah, it doesn't taste like a coffee thing. It tastes lemony. All right. What is your question? I know I can't be your I know I can't be your
Starting point is 00:22:17 Number one your favorite Korean. No, you're not I know I know I know I know that answer here. I know that I won't, I know I can't. There's nothing to do. You're in the top 30. I know. Dude, that's rude. I can't apply to being your top three Koreans. I know who your number one is. Why can't I apply to be three?
Starting point is 00:22:39 What's the application? I don't know what the application is, but I'm sure there is one. Yeah, Daniel Kim. Oh, yeah, so that's you. So, can would be one. Daniel Kim too. Who is in your three or third slot is what I'm saying? Oh, let's see.
Starting point is 00:22:54 Well, again, they have to be Korean, born in Korea? Excuse me? Born in Korea or half Korean? Daniel was born that Dr. Ken wasn't. No. He was born? No. Japan.
Starting point is 00:23:09 Exactly. So why'd you even ask that question? Because I, because just like, it has to be an Asia. Just like the Seahawks thing. Yeah. No. I was born in Thailand. Okay.
Starting point is 00:23:19 Do you speak? No. Chinese. My dad was in the military. There's a military base there. What branch? Army. All right. Tracking.
Starting point is 00:23:27 How long was the station there for and what ranked it? For Sergeant at four years. Okay. Until he was deported. I mean, um, what? He was deported, dude. He was the war. Anyway, point is, is this?
Starting point is 00:23:38 Well, war. The war. The war, dude. What are you talking about, dude? Just, you know, there's a lot of conflict. Yeah, yeah, yeah. The war, dude. No, you'll, there's a lot of common. You get not warded. Uh, no, you'll never make it.
Starting point is 00:23:46 Not even top three. No. Okay, top three, though, you said. Yeah, I leave some spaces open. You know, like at a restaurant where you can't just give those tables to. Oh, right, right. A civilian. But you can't even name your third one, so that's even, that's, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:24:04 Uh, no, you know, that, yeah. The entire cast of, say it, crazy for Jesus. Oh, Squid Game. Yeah. Oh, the whole cast of Squid Game. The whole cast of Squid Game. It's so, they, all right, those slots are open.
Starting point is 00:24:18 All right, you know what, I'll tell you this, Joel, you know, I will make it my life duty. Really? Yeah, to prove to you and to get into that top three spots. What do you think you have to do? Well, I'm going to memorize, I'm going to buy the Blu-ray of a community. Okay. Just going to buy it.
Starting point is 00:24:35 Yeah, I'm going to watch every single one. All right. Right. I mean, yeah. Okay. Well, I'll tell you this, Eric Olson is in the my top five and you're not in my top 30, so. As you notice, I did not, I did not ask for it. And don't really care.
Starting point is 00:24:50 I know, I know. But it's really fun to be in this storage room. It's my garage. Yeah, it's my garage, Joel. No, no, it's really nice. Yeah, yeah, thank you so much. You have a lot of stuff. I do have a lot of toys and knacks and whatnot, you know,
Starting point is 00:25:10 but are any of your toys here? Do you have any like a, that's your, you get one shelf? No, but you know what? We do still share the same t-shirts. We have not been able to put our shirts. Well, there's something that him and I have. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:25:24 Ken does not wear made worn t-shirt. Ken does not wear made worn t-shirt. He does not wear made worn t-shirt. I love made worn. I do too. Yeah. It's a great company, but as we said, it is expensive, but it is, I think, in a life where we all wear t-shirts, get a free Costco sweatshirt.
Starting point is 00:25:39 I think it's like, you know, parents wore like, they always wear in collared shirts and fancy things, but we were like, we were T-shirts all over. But here's another thing I noticed about you. Great jeans. Yeah, what kind of jeans? John Elliott. Right, but are they raw denim?
Starting point is 00:25:56 No, they're not. Okay. They're finished denim. They're destroyed denim. They're destroyed, yeah. Yeah, but John Elliott, he's a, he's, yeah, they're, they're great. He's from LA and he's a skateboarder and makes,
Starting point is 00:26:08 I know. And you do? No, not really. Oh. But from top to bottom though, I like your style. And I always have. Really? Yeah, from afar, yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:18 And another thing you've done for me, can I tell you another thing you've done for me? No. But I'd like to. OK. It was kind. See, whenever anything gets posed to me as a question, I have to always...
Starting point is 00:26:27 They get... Why? That goes against the problem. Because it's not really a question. Uh, that's true. Can I tell you something else? Nah, I'm fine. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.
Starting point is 00:26:38 One more thing, is that all right? Nope, nope, nope. Nope, nope. We've reached our time. All right, all right, all right. All right. I'm not gonna do that again. No, no, no. You did something nice for me. Do you know what it is? I do. What is it? No, no, we've we've reached our time. All right, all right, all right. All right, I'm not gonna do that again. No, no, no.
Starting point is 00:26:45 You did something nice for me. Do you know what it is? I do. What is it? Well, I built this home, putting that retaining wall, which is whole help. I think I know what you're talking about. What is involved?
Starting point is 00:26:59 Is one of the most food? Oh, no. It involves you being body slammed by a sumo wrestler. That's right, you were there. And I was so concerned. This was a, I was very concerned, but I was like, that is the greatest fucking television I could ever see.
Starting point is 00:27:14 If Bobby lives, then it's the greatest thing I've ever seen. If he dies, a pretty good way to go out. That was a terrible night. What would happen? How did you not tell her? I know you've been body slam at the Long Beach Lafactory. Yeah, no, but this was on television. Oh, God.
Starting point is 00:27:32 I'm not the pride one. Joe was a guest judge on there. Yeah. And I had to fight a sumo wrestler. Right. He picked me up and slammed me on my back, not on the matthou. Oh, he was me. On concrete. On concrete, like on a curb. On a curb? Yeah me on my back, not on the mat though. On concrete.
Starting point is 00:27:46 On concrete, like on a curb. On a curb, like on a curb, okay. There was a circle where the ad is, which is hard enough, but you were, I don't know what you would pile drove. A driven driven. And that happened, I was like, oh, I don't think that SEMA wrestler got any notes
Starting point is 00:28:03 on how to treat the people that are hosting the show. Yeah, yeah. And I don't think he showed up at the thing. I think he was just there. I know what to do. Why remember you were so broken we had to go get imaging at the hospital.
Starting point is 00:28:16 Oh, yeah, that came fuck me out. That show fuck me out. Blue your knees out. Blue my knees out, my back, everything was terrible. And would you, if you got another season, would you have done it? Yeah, they offered and I go, I'll do it. But before, I'll do it, but for a little more money, but then ABC was like, then this pandemic happened.
Starting point is 00:28:36 I thought it was CBS, whatever. It was CBS for the record. I got to hang out with Venus Williams. She was like my partner and I was like, I cannot, I was, I was the best. I was Starstruck. Yeah. And I'm not kidding.
Starting point is 00:28:49 Yeah, her and also I got to meet Landon Donovan. I love soccer. But here's the nice thing you did for me. I'm turning this off. I thought my, thank you. My ring camera went off. And then Gronk was on our show. Yes, Gronk was also on the Rokowski.
Starting point is 00:29:03 But the nice thing you did for me, it was involving food, specifically pizza. Can you tell me what it is? I think Gronk was on our show. Yes, Gronk was also on the Volkowski. But the nice thing you did for me, it was evolving food, specifically pizza. Can you tell me what it is? I force fed you like a goose. No, no, no. Like a fogo. No.
Starting point is 00:29:15 I have to get you a reservation at a moment. No, but you made a suggestion. I said, don't get the pineapple. No, I'll pizza, you go, you got. Don't eat pizza, you don't need it. You're not in your you're not in your 20s. You can splurge once in a while but intermittent fasting is something to think of. Oh you said you recommended a restaurant, a pizza restaurant in
Starting point is 00:29:37 not in the California. Oh, Aaron is feeling now. Yeah, he's a crispy uncle. That's it. Oh, he's got restaurants here now. He does. He does. But years ago, right, I ran, here's what you were performing there. Right. The stand-up live. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:53 And my mom lives in town, so I was just there. And I go, oh, Joel's playing stand-up live, I'm gonna go say hi. You're very nice to do that. Oh, this is boring. You're boring. Yeah, you could have been able to be like, well, you're with do that. Oh, this is boring. You're boring? Yeah, you could have been in a meeting with your mom. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:08 No, I was, I said, stop by. You'd let me hang out in your green room. Yeah, my green room. I mean, you're the headliner, I mean. Sure, I guess. So I was hanging out with you and you pulled me a sign and you go, yo dude, you gotta go to this pizza place.
Starting point is 00:30:20 Yeah. And I go, well, it's pizza. He's like, no, trust me. You have to go. It's the best pizza I've ever had. Yeah. And I go, well, it's pizza. He's like, no, trust me. You have to go. It's the best pizza I've ever had. Yeah. And I went the next night. And he was right. I remember, I was there with my brother and I were, we were like going, I think this is the one the best pizzas we've ever had. And we, I know we've always thought positively about you since then. Oh, thank you. That was a kind of hard thing. You're number one now.
Starting point is 00:30:43 Whoa. You made it. You made it. You made it. I can. I was a kind of hard thing. Your number one now. Whoa! You made it. You made it. I can hear it. I knew what you get in there. Yeah, Chris Bianca, they just did his chef's table on Netflix. And it's just great. And his story is amazing. Or when we came to Phoenix, he was selling mozzarella door to door.
Starting point is 00:31:01 Yeah, yeah, yeah. And he worked at Whole Foods making pizza. Yeah. And then he built one of the restaurants next to that Whole Foods, it's like, you know, I know much. Yeah, I mean, when you actually eat good pizza, you can tell a difference. I mean, it really kind of changes you in a weird way. And you go, oh, this is the way it's supposed to be done. Do you know what it is?
Starting point is 00:31:21 I couldn't agree more. Yeah, yeah. It's like gin. Bad gin makes no sense. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Good gin is so good. Yeah. Same thing with wine, but it's just like,
Starting point is 00:31:31 why would we ever put this in our butt? And then you're, oh, right. Yeah. And then I can eat 25 of those pizzas. And I've had pizza kind of that looks like it. Well, I'll be at a restaurant. I can, oh, it looks like that at the restaurant. Yeah. And then when you eat it, you go, that's not it. No, it, Chris at a restaurant. I can all, it looks like that restaurant. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:45 And then when you eat it, you go, that's not it. No, it, Chris, me, I'm, it's in downtown LA now. It's great. Have you been to La Antica in Hollywood? Well, you're doing more. Francesco. So what is it? What's it called?
Starting point is 00:31:56 La Antica. It's L, apostrophe, Antica. And it's a, or, or land, Tico, excuse me. And it's a steakhouse. It is not. It is pasta and pizza. But I want to talk about, did you get COVID? I've, did you, how many times do you have it? I just had it for the first time.

Starting point is 00:39:39 I remember the first time we got it. Yeah, I got through it pretty quickly. Yeah, I was, I was on the precipice. Did you feel more sick or guilty we got it? Yeah, I got through it pretty. Yeah, I was on the precipice. Did you feel more sick or guilty about having it? Oh, that's a good question. Oh. They're like, yeah, I felt hurt. I think we were, were we going out then or no?
Starting point is 00:40:00 No, we were dating at the time. Yeah, so we were, you were living together. Did you bring it home to us? No, Gilbray. No, but we were living together. Like, the jewels bring it home to us? No, Gilberr. You know that from me. Oh, you got it. I'll fuck you, dude. Yeah. Yeah, so I got it from him, because we were doing this.
Starting point is 00:40:12 Mm-hmm. And then I got super sick. To the point where it's like, one night I thought I was going to die. Did you go to the hospital? No. You were like, well, this is my time, is it? I did it. Yeah, I did.
Starting point is 00:40:23 I was going to be like a week like. What happened? We got the ventilators is it. I did it, I did, I did, I was gonna be like a week like what happened? We got the ventilators and everything. He did. He got ventilators, yeah. It's a healthy guy too. And I know he played for a football team. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:35 You played football too, right? Not like him, he was actually but you played it. I did. Yeah, you played it. I did. And then you did an improv shoot too. Which one?
Starting point is 00:40:45 In Seattle somewhere. What? What? Who's? How long did you look at the Wikipedia page for? I never looked at it Wikipedia. I just know things about you. And the producer?
Starting point is 00:41:00 What do you mean? He doesn't send me anything. Joe, Joe! Does he do anything? No, he's right now he's playing on... Yeah, wearing a suit. Yeah, Candy Crush on his... No, iPad.
Starting point is 00:41:09 Great, he looks like he's a big sugar ray fan. LAUGHTER You look... One day. That's what it is, dude. Sugar ray. I... Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:20 That's the vibe you're right, dude. Thank you so much for saying that. Yeah. It's close, you're honest. LAUGHTER I'm not saying that. Thank you so much for saying that. Yeah. It's close, you're honest. I'm not saying that. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, it's a good song.
Starting point is 00:41:30 I think we're going to have a good time. You were in a improv group in the NCL? Multiple. Oh, whoa. Not really. I-O. One. No, they didn't have that in Seattle.
Starting point is 00:41:39 Didn't exist. There was no second city there? No. Oh. Unexpected productions. Unexpected productions. Did you stand up at the time, too? No. Then started doing stand-up until after the soup. Oh, unexpected productions. Unexpected production. Did you stand up at the time too? No. Then started doing stand up until after the soup. Oh.
Starting point is 00:41:48 Yeah. You can imagine how bad I bombed. Yeah, but because Mike McDonald did that. You know Mike McDonald? Yes. From the magic. Yes, right. And then he started doing, yeah, because he was like,
Starting point is 00:41:59 I can make someone. He called me and he's like, what do you think I go, well, he's so funny. He's so funny, but he did the San Jose improv. Like one of the first times he kinda went up, and headlined. How'd it go?
Starting point is 00:42:11 He did a good. They called me and they go, you was pretty good. But it took me forever to learn how to do it. Well, you didn't have a built an audience at that point. You were, you started doing, you started, yeah. And I started after the soup, so the things I was just hosting for like friends that actually knew did stand up. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:31 I was like, okay. And then because the soup was popular at the point, I could just say things that happened on the soup and they would like it. But then as, and I realized, oh, I got to really work hard at this. And I went out, I always thought you always did it. That's how good you are. You're very kind. I'm being real.
Starting point is 00:42:48 When I was right watch, I go, oh my god, this guy's been doing it forever. Like it, I never thought that you were a guy that. Oh, no. Now I gotta tell my therapist that another person can compliment me and I thought they were lying. No, I'm not kidding you. Yeah, this is my, yeah, I've imposter syndrome.
Starting point is 00:43:02 Oh, can I also say this too? In the standout live, you followed heavy weights. Oh, that, yeah, that, well, yeah. Who would have, I forgot who it was, but I remember thinking to myself, I go, wow, he's got strong openers. Oh, yeah. And then I was like, yeah, fairs is.
Starting point is 00:43:18 But I'm like, oh, yeah, but he's, you know, he's who he is, you know what I mean? So that's another compliment. I'll take it. See, now I'm being sincere, which I'm really. Thank you. You and I have the same thing. I can't take a compliment.
Starting point is 00:43:30 Yeah, it's not fun. I mean, it's my... Do you hate yourself? Yeah, a little bit. Why? Well, it's just, you know, self-loving is a part of it. You're talented. Great act.
Starting point is 00:43:40 Don't do that. Oh, go ahead. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You're turning into a bit. Look at me right now. Joe McHale. Yes. This is from a guy who's been added for a long time.
Starting point is 00:43:50 Right. To me, it's like you're a great actor. Thank you. Very funny stand. Don't do that smile. What is he allowed to do? It's weird. No, I just want to do it.
Starting point is 00:44:00 Yeah. Just turn it me blankly. All right. Like blankly, stare at me. Don't cover your mouth. Bankly. Just like this. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:08 Yeah, I'm like, please do it that way. I'm not gonna be able to. Please don't smile. I don't want to. All right. Joe McHale, your handsome. So uberly handsome. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:44:20 Talented. I can't help this. Yeah, athletic, great standup, great actor. You really are a great actor. You've done so much shit in this business. That's insane. And for, oh, here's another compliment. Before being a white dude too, it's even double.
Starting point is 00:44:33 I'll tell you what? What? Because there's so many white dudes doing it. There's a lot of white dudes, right? And to get to your level, you have to be one of the best white dudes to do it. Well, but I feel like there was. We were top 30 white dudes, Bob.
Starting point is 00:44:48 There was too many parts, they're like, there was all the parts were for white dudes, and so minorities did not get a chance to. Yeah, but here's the kick. And now it's better, obviously. Here's the kicker, dude. You wanna hear the kicker, dude? What is the kicker?
Starting point is 00:45:03 I'm excited. The kicker is this, is that that being said, that is true, right? But you're still working. Yeah, and I'm old. I'm one month older than you. Really? Yeah, I'm September 17th, 1971. Look at us.
Starting point is 00:45:18 Yeah, you're 51. I'm 51 for the next 12 days. You guys look amazing. Oh, you're 50. It's so unfair. Yeah, it is kind of weird. We're 12 days. You guys look amazing. It's so unfair. Yeah, it is kind of weird. For 12 days, I just translate. I hate it. Well, hair transplant really helps.
Starting point is 00:45:29 I hate it. It really make you look young. Wait, he wants a beard transplant. I think he's actually going to be good with it. I know, yeah. Do you really? Parsamohebi, he's great. Wow.
Starting point is 00:45:39 So your beard is real, that's real. Yeah, yeah. But your hair is fake. All of it is fake, it's not there. You know what's, you know what I'm, it's from a, a doll that like a murder. It's a piece of shit. It's Chuckie hair.
Starting point is 00:45:53 It tells me what to do, it's like Doc Ock. Yeah. It's funny because I know a lot of guys, and if I say their names now, their comics, if I say them, they would call me and violently threaten me. If you said they have hair for their plugs, right? I don't know, it's not plugs, it's your own hair. They just plug. Well, they would call me and violently threaten me. If you said they have their plugs, right? I don't know. It's not plugs. It's your own hair. They just plug.
Starting point is 00:46:07 Yeah, yeah. Well, they have the same thing. They have the... Right. I don't understand what the white people are. They're so offended by it. It's so obvious. And... I said... We know exactly who they are. I know. I know. But they get so offended like, you fucking tell me, but I swear to fuck.
Starting point is 00:46:22 You were done, dude. And it's like... Why? What me, but I swear to fucking, we're done, dude. And it's like, why would it happen? I don't know, nothing. Nothing would have ripped their tickets in front of the camera. I'm just kidding. Fuck this guy. Yeah, but they're so sensitive about it. We're interesting.
Starting point is 00:46:39 They've had texts and also calls, say, because I've made fun of one of them on a podcast once. Oh. While they were with me, and he looked at me, and that was his Achilles. And he looked at me and you could see something switch, like a reptilian alien. Like we're just joking around here.
Starting point is 00:46:56 Yeah, yeah, I understand, man. He stopped and he got, and he's fucking laid in on me. And all right, oh, white dudes are sensitive about the hair thing. White dudes. He's not just white dudes. sensitive about their hair thing. White dudes. He's not just white dudes. I don't know if I... I feel like a good point you're making though.
Starting point is 00:47:11 It's like, what would happen? Like, what is the problem? Like, if you can, why not? Yeah. Like, if I started to go bald, I would absolutely do it. Yes. Asian women are a huge part of his clientele. I am not kidding.
Starting point is 00:47:26 They, yeah, yeah. Cause there's, well, there's a pattern on this and women. There is. Yeah, yeah. Without a doubt, the first couple of weeks I'd be getting the chance. But would you admit it afterwards?
Starting point is 00:47:36 Yes, of course. I mean, you don't just go from looking bald to all of a sudden having a full head of hair. Like, how would I be able to just say, guys, I took neutral fold and it worked. Here, what? Take your wig off. I was just seeing what it looks like.
Starting point is 00:47:50 When I was a kid, I remember telling people, like at 12, I was like, oh yeah, I'm masturbating, and people would make fun of me about it. And then I know other dudes that would do it that would be embarrassed about saying it out loud. And I was always like, what's wrong with it? Why is that embarrassing? about it. And then I know other dudes that would do it that would be embarrassed about saying it out loud. And I was always like, what's wrong with it? Why is that embarrassing?
Starting point is 00:48:09 How cute. You were a little trailblazer. Yeah, I was just like, and then after I got made fun of it, I never said it again, because I felt like it was a dirty secret. He used the word masturbate. You know, I go, you know, I play with my penis felt good. Yeah, okay. That's weird.
Starting point is 00:48:23 That's weird. Penis felt good. What do okay. That's weird. Yeah, that's weird penis felt good You did the simulation No, I walked up to my friends. I go hey guys. What's up last night? I play with my penis penis felt good it felt good And did you grow up again San Diego and juice and juice came out and like, dude, that's weird. We don't do that. That's how you talk.
Starting point is 00:48:47 Yeah, and I go, okay, I didn't need that line. And I never said anything to anybody for like five or six years after that. No, it doesn't sound like it was weird at all, or creepy. And then five years later, you had a deeper voice than you said. It dudes. Dude.
Starting point is 00:49:03 I played with my peepee. And then juice came out. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Or like now, I even say stuff like, like I admit it on a podcast that I sucked a penis before. And then people are like, whoa, that's weird. I go, why? Anyway, it's like the hair plugs.
Starting point is 00:49:22 It is? It is. It's like the thing plugs. It is? It is? It's like the... How much did you have to pay for the... It's just like the hair plugs. Anyway, do you have to get it done often? No, I mean... Why'd you look at it like we're all...
Starting point is 00:49:40 Well, we're still reeling from the blow jump story. And then you would have like, anyway, tell me more about the procedure. Is it yearly thing or no? No, no, once it's there, it's there. Wow. So it'll grow after you. I think you're a consult about your beard then.
Starting point is 00:49:57 Yeah, but because I've talked about it on podcast so many times, people are gonna know, but if I have a full blow, like, also they should know, absolutely. It'll give you another hour material. Oh, that's true. Yeah, yeah, so I'll pay for itself. Yeah, I'm gonna do it.
Starting point is 00:50:11 Because as you know, we don't get hair here usually. We, Asians, men, all right. Sometimes they'll grow underneath here. David Chow tried to do that. No, Filipinos get full beards. Yeah, but you guys are mixed with something else. Like what, where are we mixed with Bobby? What did you think I was gonna say?
Starting point is 00:50:31 Yeah. This is how your vows were. Yeah. You know, we're not dating anymore. This bring, you know that right? What? We broke up a year ago. No, like a year, two years ago.
Starting point is 00:50:41 Years ago, yeah. Oh, I didn't know that. Yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah. Okay, we're fine. that. Yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah. Okay, we're fine. We're fine. We're fine. We're totally fine.
Starting point is 00:50:49 Is that in the last year you sucked the penis? That was the reason for the break up. He went a little too fluid. Okay, no, no, no. Many, many years ago. Is it better being broken up? I would say, yeah. You could.
Starting point is 00:51:04 I mean, there are times where I miss her immensely. All right, are you dating now? I am, yeah. Are you dating now? How's the witch app? I just got off Raya. Raya was a little too, I don't know, it's like you got the ego boost,
Starting point is 00:51:19 but I don't know, it just wasn't for me. What was banned from all of them except Raya? What did you do? Did you tell the juice PP story? That part of your bio? No, I um, I lied about my age. Really? Why would you lie by your age?
Starting point is 00:51:35 You're a famous person. Thank you. That's such a, yeah. No, everyone's gonna know, they'll find out about that lie in a second. Oh. Yeah. I didn't think about that. Yeah, I think a good thing. I remember like about that lie in a second. Oh, yeah. You think about that? Yeah, I think a good one.
Starting point is 00:51:47 I'm like, that looks like Bobby Lee. There's no way he's 33. He's not. I know. I know. Report. I like how you get kicked off the app for lying about your age.
Starting point is 00:51:57 Yeah, because I know what, well, in the big, I hate to sit talk about this, but I'll be honest, okay. When I first joined, when we first broke up, I joined all of them. and I said my honest age, but what happens is a lot of women like in their 30s,
Starting point is 00:52:11 well, their cap will be 40. So they won't see my profile. Because you want to date women in their 30s. Well, I want options from anywhere in their 30s to 40s. Why can't have the two decades? Well, to be fair, when I met him on Tinder, when Tinder, like in its first like three months or something like that.
Starting point is 00:52:30 But was it a Tinder became? Yeah, became just a fuck app basically. So I was 20. Which I, you just fuck app. How is that not in an app that's like, I mean, how is that? You call it what it is, but it, I was 28 and I did put my age range.
Starting point is 00:52:45 I think I capped it at like 40, 42 or something like that. Yeah. And you got in there because you lied about your age then and you said you were 38. Yes. Ah, all right. So it, it does work. It does work.
Starting point is 00:52:57 But he was, yeah. All right. But still very, it's deceitful. Yeah, I mean, you could see how that could be a problem when people are lying about their rights. No, no. The reason why, and this is my theory, and I think I'm right, okay,
Starting point is 00:53:12 is that I would get a lot of girls that said, because they like you, and then you go, these are the people like you. You just, do you like them back? And most of them, I wouldn't like them back. And I feel like because that offended them that they flagged me. Um, no.
Starting point is 00:53:30 Why would anybody see, oh, Bobby Lee's not 32, he's 52, I'm gonna flag him out of nowhere. So you were often flagged for it? On every app. Except for Raya, because Raya have my real age on there. And you're dating Phyllis Diller, right? Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:50 No, that's great. I mean, I've been dating. Usually the girls I've been on dates are in their 30s. Okay, so wait. Okay. I don't think that's wrong. I don't think that I think you think that's age not age appropriate?
Starting point is 00:54:04 No, I don't want to know what age appropriate I'm a product of a 35 year old girl woman. I'm 52. I think that's okay It's okay. My dad was you know much older than my mom. I know but how much older? 15 years okay mine was kind of like grossly his was her dad was Yeah, my dad was 60. I have to. Yeah, my dad was 22. My mom was home. That was when he was like 22. Your dad was 16, your mom was 22. I have a product of something possibly, even though they had a great relationship,
Starting point is 00:54:34 they stayed together up until he died. I don't know, I always have that Ike feeling like I'm a product of something slightly predatory or maybe a lot predatory, I don't know. But. Wow. Yeah, that is. But you don't know. But. Wow. Yeah, that is.
Starting point is 00:54:46 But you don't hear that very much. Yeah, but you know, he was a great dad. She's like, they love each other. So I guess it's hard. I'm kind of in that weird place of like, they were great together. All right. Hey.
Starting point is 00:55:00 Yeah, but if they've grown, if that never happened, you would have never been born in it. Well, yeah, but she, I don't think she's saying if she could go back in time and rearrange it like back to the future, just saying in general, it seems, I think you were saying it's quite the age gap. Yeah, because I mean, like this is, he, my mom's from the Philippines,
Starting point is 00:55:16 that's where I was born and raised. And he was a foreigner, a white guy, an older guy coming to the Philippines, finding a much younger girl. So that part felt, that part feels eki to me. Because when I see it on like 90 day fiancee and say, I'm like, now, now, but culturally back then in the Philippines, how was it viewed? Um, back then it's, it's, you know, you see it, right? Like, you're growing up, like, I would see versions of my parents with really old foreign dudes with young Filipina chicken.
Starting point is 00:55:44 You would gross me out. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But then I saw my own parents and I'm like, well, no, like he's great. Like he's amazing. My mom's amazing. So I don't know, it's very confusing for a kid. A Theo had the same thing.
Starting point is 00:55:56 Yeah, Theo did too. Theo Bob had you. It's interesting to me, you know. But I just feel like, you know, I mean, it's just a different culture we live in and things have shifted and people's views have shifted. Yeah, but that still happens all the time. Wait, if you go to like, yeah, obviously, if you go to Thailand, yeah, it's gross.
Starting point is 00:56:11 It's weird. It's expacts. Expacts. How do you say expacts? I like these packs. Expacts. How do you say it? I'm gonna say expacts of expacts.
Starting point is 00:56:23 Great. All right. How do you say it? What is it? expats. Ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex-ex I'm gonna say it. I'm gonna say it. I'm gonna say it. I'm gonna say it. I'm gonna say it. I'm gonna say it. I'm gonna say it. I'm gonna say it. I'm gonna say it.
Starting point is 00:56:28 I'm gonna say it. I'm gonna say it. I'm gonna say it. I'm gonna say it. I'm gonna say it. I'm gonna say it. I'm gonna say it. I'm gonna say it.
Starting point is 00:56:35 I'm gonna say it. I'm gonna say it. I'm gonna say it. I'm gonna say it. I'm gonna say it. I'm gonna say it. I'm gonna say it. I'm gonna say it.
Starting point is 00:56:41 I'm gonna say it. I'm gonna say it. I'm gonna say it. I'm gonna say it. I'm gonna say it. I'm gonna say it. I'm gonna say it. I'm gonna say it. We've been together for well married 27 together for almost 30 like we're coming up on the 30th anniversary of like when I Saw her When we had actually met once before when I was in college and she was two but we didn't date them Ben yeah 30 years we look at each other like What happened we're all the time go What happened? Where did this all go?
Starting point is 00:57:05 And then we have an 18 and 15 year old, so. What? Oh right, we have kids that can vote and smoke without, not problem. Well, are they good kids, would you say? No, no, no. No. No, they're terrible.
Starting point is 00:57:20 No, they're good kids. No, I'm not proud of them. No, they're good kids. They're listening to every parent call it, they're not. They're good. No, I'm not proud of them. They're just, they're listening to every parent call it. They are just. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, there's the greatest things that ever happened to me. Wow.
Starting point is 00:57:32 When you have those, yeah, that's, when you get, when a kid, when that was like my, a, there we are. Oh my God. My wife and I have the same haircut. Oh my God. That was, yeah, look at us. Look at us.
Starting point is 00:57:44 When you guys, when yeah, look at us. Look at us. I don't think we're engaged then. When you guys look at younger versions of yourself as a couple, do you recognize yourself? Or are you just so such different people now? It is different. I look at that and I'm like, yeah, she's so hot that I'm like, yep, that's, and then I look at me and go like, what was I thinking with that haircut?
Starting point is 00:58:05 Who was that looks coming back though? Yeah, it is yeah the Devonsawa kind of career Yeah, the Korea the Koreans have brought that back strong. I'm gonna carry L. Wait. Is that isn't it carry the L? Yes, very good. Yeah, yeah, very good at from Princess Bride. Yeah, that is L. Wait, right L. L. L. L. L. L. L. L. L. L. L. is. L-way, right? L-less. L-less, yeah. She's beautiful too, dude.
Starting point is 00:58:25 Yeah. And then for brother and sister, it's great. But when you, man, were you doing the improv at the time? Yes, lots of improv. And her family was like, who, what, are you dating an actor? Oh, wow. Yeah, there was a lot of that. Wow.
Starting point is 00:58:43 And then all of a sudden, my god, I'm TV. Yeah, there was a lot of that. Wow. And then all of a sudden, I got on TV. Yeah, everything was okay. Oh, that always happens, right? Yeah, so when you tell people, I'm gonna go be an actor or stand up. You get treated like a fourth-class citizen, and then if it kind of works out, then your royalty. You think you're much prefer.
Starting point is 00:59:03 Yeah, although I ran into, I was at Mel's diner, and I ran to, I can't even say his name. There was this guy, and his brother does stand. Is this the blowjob, sir? No. No. I was at the end. So, we know a guy, you know him, too,
Starting point is 00:59:18 but his older brother is a pharmacist, a doctor, right? And, you know, he makes a very good salary. And he's in his thirties. And he came up to my table and was like, yeah, I'm thinking about quitting my pharmacy job and doing a little bit of open mic. And I was just kind of like, I know. What, how did you say it? Like that, no. All right, I can't repeat that without getting in trouble. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh yeah, I go, don't, but you know, I go, what? You think about what Ken did, right?
Starting point is 00:59:57 I mean, you know, 12 years as a doctor. Yeah, but still, I know of that. But he was doing it. Yeah, you knew him, yeah. Yeah, I mean, look over there, I mean, you know, I've known him he was doing it. Yeah, you knew him. Yeah, I mean, look over there. I mean, you know, I've known him. You proved it. I know you know, Karen.
Starting point is 01:00:10 I know, but I look at that photo. I was with him, right? When he was at Kaiser with his wife, and I just remember, I went to his wedding, and I just, you know, to his wedding and I, you know, but he was one of those guys, once you saw him on stage, I always went, oh no, I mean, he's legitimately, a great performer, right?
Starting point is 01:00:35 He's Rumpel Stilskins. Yeah, his instincts are- It just spins it out of nothing. Yeah, his instincts are all there, he's got musical talent, he's got it all, right? This other guy, I don't know, right? He doesn't seem to have a funny guy. Right, so he could be.
Starting point is 01:00:50 But I quit the job. That's what I'm saying. Yeah, he's a big guy. He's a big guy. Yeah, keep the job. Like what would you say to your best friend? That he was like, he's a doctor, a surgeon. He's like, in his 40s, he's like, I'm thinking about
Starting point is 01:01:02 doing a little bit of open mic. Okay, so I do have a friend who is a lawyer and he, as part of losing his fantasy football, he did stand up. And he sent it to me and I was like, that was not nearly as bad as I thought it was gonna be. It was okay. But then I had this, we knew this family.
Starting point is 01:01:23 They were like, he had this one job. He had kids. They had a whole life. And he was like, I think I'm gonna quit and verticel the house and move down to LA. And I was like, this is, I was like, I was like, I can't. I was like, you know what, follow your dreams, but don't follow them.
Starting point is 01:01:43 Uh, say where you are. the kids were old and not like, I was like, it was that was where I was like, you may not wanna do this, it's a lot. And coming to Southern California, and he lived in the Midwest, and it was like the house you're in, like 6,000 square feet. And yeah, you're gonna get you're not gonna get a postage stamp
Starting point is 01:02:05 for that. So, yeah, that was the only time I was like, just be. Yeah. Because when I hear people, like, don't ever go in the entertainment business, I was like, you did, and it worked out. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's true, yeah. And it was like, yeah, it's like any bit,
Starting point is 01:02:19 it's, every business is tough, but, yeah, it's, it's, yeah, that was the only time I was like, don't, you probably shouldn't. But would you do it again? Like if you knew what you knew now, yeah, me too. Absolutely. Yeah, me too, me too, me too. I couldn't, I remember just thinking,
Starting point is 01:02:34 the real job police are gonna come and take me away someday, but I'm gonna do this until I can't. Well, were your other options swirling in your head career wise at that time? Oh, people like, you should be a, my parents are, I was like, you should be a real estate agent. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:02:50 OK. Maybe. Great. Is it like a comic Hannah burner? She says there's a couple professions of people who have snapped. And one is yoga teacher, the other is real estate agent. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:03:05 Both performance. Yeah, yeah. I was just like, I gave it no other option. And everyone thought, when you tell people, you're going to go into acting or stand up, you're like, OK, crazy person, you'll get this out of your system, and then you'll work at Microsoft. And it'll be fine.
Starting point is 01:03:21 That was what everyone did in Seattle. If I had to do it again, the fact that people pay me to do what I like, and I kind of control my destiny in a way, that bought peace of mind, even though I am full of anxiety about what my next job is all the time, would you do it again? My theory is you can't do other options. No. Like for me it was like, it's this or death. I agree. Yeah, and so I'd do it.
Starting point is 01:03:52 Like a Japanese general. Which literally, I know you literally what they did. Is there was, I mean I thought, when I heard, I was like, oh yeah, that really removes all the other options. Yeah, yeah. In World War II actually the Emperor had to tell the generals to stop killing themselves.
Starting point is 01:04:08 Yeah. Going well. Was that a hereito? Yeah, it was. Emperor hereito? Yeah. Yeah, it's my favorite emperor. But why?
Starting point is 01:04:16 Oh, who's your second? There's your top 30. Yeah, top 30. Top 30. I don't know. But yeah, no option because it's like, you have to commit with every part of your ass. You really do, yeah.
Starting point is 01:04:31 There wasn't any other. And then I remember, I told my wife, I was like, just give me five years here. And I'll see, and if it is not going well, then I'll be like, I tried for half a decade. I'm gonna, and even now that I look back, I'm like, oh, I should've said 10 years. And because, you know, like I've went in,
Starting point is 01:04:49 Harrison Ford got his lifetime achievement golden globe when they were still legitimate. I don't know if it's still going, it's better now. But he said, I'm only here because everyone else left. And I mean, sure, yes, he's one of the handsome as men in an amazing actor. But I was like, oh, yes, he's one of the handsome as men in an amazing actor. But I was like, oh, yeah, he's like, I just kept showing up.
Starting point is 01:05:09 And I was like, yeah, that's really good advice. That's the key. You just gotta show up. And I've showed up so many times and failed a lot. And you've seen it, the tears. I'm seeing it now. I'm seeing it now. I would have auditions. I would have auditions. I would beat himself. He beat himself with
Starting point is 01:05:30 a water bottle and a parking lot just like over and over until like blood was just streamed down instead. I would just punch that my agent. Yeah, my agent. I'd be thrown in jail for a couple of years, and then it was like two spread. Fuck you, Matt. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I used to like, you know, I've had some bad moments. And then I've had some moments where I was like, oh, I mind, this is, I don't know where to go. I don't know what direction. I think to what you said earlier, when I met you, you weren't showing up.
Starting point is 01:06:02 And I think that's what changed is that you started to show up and you started to actually go. What do you mean not show up? He just would not like go to. It got to a point where I was like, I went on a hundred auditions, I wasn't even close. And I would get an acting coach and really prepare. And I wasn't even getting close and I was just like, what's the point?
Starting point is 01:06:23 And I got to, I was like really down on myself. Yeah, so he just wouldn't wake up for auditions. His manager wouldn't be calling me like, why didn't he show up? And for like, I have first, yeah, a couple of years. Yeah, a couple of years. And then what brought you out of it? She said, I'm going to leave.
Starting point is 01:06:36 I like physically would drag him into the car. We'd get into these like full-out screaming matches in the parking lot. He's like, I'm not going in. I'm not going, but you have to go in. Because it became traumatic. Because you just thought I'm going, it doesn't matter. I'm going to be rejected.
Starting point is 01:06:51 Yeah, but the one day what happened was, I did, so I got this audition. I didn't look at it. And I knew my plan. I was going to sleep in. And just go, I just slept after a long time. And then I knew his plan to sleep in. But she found out, but I think my manager told her.
Starting point is 01:07:06 Make sure you, right? So she wakes me up and she goes, let's go, let's get in the car. I go, where are we going? And she goes, you said it in the accent. You're thinking of accent. Well, when I wake up, I'm variation. Oh, where are we going? And she goes, you go to the office to sit here and smile at you.
Starting point is 01:07:26 Mm-hmm. Yeah, we can laugh at that. And I go, I didn't read it. I didn't even read it. She goes, I don't care. Get in the car. We get in the car. We fought the whole way.
Starting point is 01:07:39 Whole way. It was NBC. He tried to like launch himself out of the car. OK. He just said. And then I got sides, put it out. And then I showed up. And you know how you sometimes, back in the day
Starting point is 01:07:51 when you would see people, everyone you do. Everyone knew. So it's like people fuck around. And I was just fucking around with people, like slapping people with my sides and running around. Because I knew I was gonna read off the page. And I went in there, never really read it. And I was gonna read off the page and I went in there, never really read it and I just read it off the page and just covered my face
Starting point is 01:08:09 with the side, right? And then afterwards I crumpled it up and threw in the trashcan in the room and I left. Got back into the car and then I told you. I told you. I said fuck you for making you this. I gave you a book of that terrible experience. You humiliating.
Starting point is 01:08:23 I got it. I got it. You got it. Yeah. Wow. Yeah, I got that job. What happened was they go, that was a terrible audition, but they still like you. So when you test, can you read it? So I go, yes, I'll read it.
Starting point is 01:08:36 I memorized it. I killed it at the test. Because then I knew when I know, I think, I could get this. I'll try. Right. When you got back in the car and they, I could get this, I'll try. Right. Right, when you got back in the car and they called immediately and were like, they like you, were you like, ah, ah.
Starting point is 01:08:51 Oh my God. You motherfucker. I mean, the biggest, just fuck you, C.I. told you, it was such a great feeling for me. It gave me the biggest wake up call. And I've showed up ever since then, because you just never know, and you gotta try. Hey, I, yeah, I mean, you always gotta try,
Starting point is 01:09:09 but then I stopped, I mean, what helped me was like stop thinking about, like, if I'm the one that, like always be like, I fuck this one up, as opposed to the thousand other factors that are already going into, like, casting directors, like, yeah, bring him in, we already got it. We already know the director wants these guys and you forget about all the other factors.
Starting point is 01:09:28 So many things. All I can do is go in there and do something and it's like, if I don't, that's how I was like, just let it go. That's how I got there. I realized that. And now I just kind of have fun with it. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:09:40 You know what I mean, with not living in the results of it, and it's just a part of my job. Right. And it's been fun since that, you know what I mean? But'm not living in the results of it. And it's just a part of my job. And it's been fun since that, you know what I mean? But yeah, that's, yeah. So do you want to plug anything, Joel? I can't. Oh, you can plug. I mean, you can plug.
Starting point is 01:09:58 Don't watch movies and television. I can talk about crime scene kitchen. That's it. So crime scene kitchen, where can people see that? Fox. Fox. And Hulu. And Hulu.
Starting point is 01:10:09 That's Curtis Stone, Yolanda Gampani. That's great. And we... Tell Curtis, I said hello. No. Why? I just, I'm not gonna get around to it. I know, just if I pop into your head.
Starting point is 01:10:20 You can't put all that pressure on me. I know, but if it happens, I'm not gonna... I'm doing his podcast in a couple of weeks. He has a podcast. In Malibu. Wow. You think it's a fucking garage? A seaside podcast. You don't have that.
Starting point is 01:10:35 We're gonna have a fire. Like, they're gonna smear us. Yeah. Yeah. I do no longer have the podcast with Ken. No, that's a years. What? Well, you know, it was during the pandemic
Starting point is 01:10:46 and we spent the first hour just talking about, because it was pre-vaccinations and stuff. So we talked about that. No, we both are like, we really should keep doing that. But you know, both of us are, busy, workaholic, obsessive compulsive, who, well, we just didn't get into it. Andrew and I did a big theater gig
Starting point is 01:11:04 and we saw you guys headshot up there. Oh, was that in Colorado? Yeah, Colorado. Yeah, that was really fun. That was stand-up and improvising. We were just fucking around on it. Wow. Big theater.
Starting point is 01:11:17 It was a big theater. Big theater. I got pretty worried. I got worried too. I almost missed the gig too, because I was in New York at the US open You went hooked up from his I did I beat Alkaraz I can't believe it I poisoned them before and the plane was they're like oh folks will go back and then somehow they overfilled the fuel and the plane, they were like, oh folks, we'll move back and then somehow they overfilled the fuel
Starting point is 01:11:46 and the fuel went spraying. And I was like, oh, I guess this five hours before I land and this is gonna change and they kept pushing it, they kept going like, it's gonna leave in an hour, it's gonna leave in an hour. And then I was like, this is never gonna leave. And Ken is already in Denver. Ken is in Denver and I'm like, I may not make this
Starting point is 01:12:05 and then I booked another flight, but LaGuardia has two disconnected terminals that you have to take a bus to. So I ran on the wrong way on the street to get to the other terminal, or I've ran by a cop and he then as I finally got in there and I started walking slowly, like like I'm just walking right here and then another two cops went by
Starting point is 01:12:27 and then I ran to security and they were like, you don't have a ticket. I'm like, you know, I ran downstairs and it was, and I barely made it. It was, yeah, then I went through security slowly sweating like you are right now. And, and I was like, I wonder if they're gonna check my back. And then I finally, finally got in the plane,
Starting point is 01:12:45 the flop sweat on my back was the panic. What's up? I've been there. It was, oh my God. It was measurable. Wow. But once you're on the flight, did you have time to, oh, I got really drunk and had six annexes.
Starting point is 01:12:58 I'm being a just vulgar. It was straight to the gig from the end. They had to delay the gig, I mean, I got there within five minutes of it starting. Kiss. Yeah, and I was just like, I held this family coming out in Colorado and Ken, you know, so nice. Then, yeah.
Starting point is 01:13:13 Oh my God. It was fucking, and that was, yeah, boy, I really told the story. I'm really, so check them out on that. So there's my story. So you're not gonna put the shit with Curtis. Wait, Kardashian here? No.
Starting point is 01:13:27 Stickers. Okay. And you and me are here, that's great. Yeah, yeah. Joel, you're the biggest guy we've had here. You mean physically? Yeah, okay. So thank you.
Starting point is 01:13:38 Thanks for doing it. You're welcome. I can get you someone bigger than me. No, no, no. You're the top. All right. I guess I had Joe McKell, that's good. Oh, wait, I thought you were someone bigger than me. No, no, no. You're the top. All right, I guess I had Joe McHale, that's good. Oh, wait, I thought you were talking about physical size.
Starting point is 01:13:49 No, in terms of this. This is the mode I am? I think so. Oh, no one or no one listens. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha And I'm not kidding, always been so nice. And that's not something that happens all the time. You too. Be kind, just be kind. You too, Joel. You're God. You're the best.
Starting point is 01:14:11 That's not really a compliment. Give him a round of applause, I'm a gentleman. Thank you. Don't look at everyone. أولي
