Starting point is 00:33:30 Well, you know, here's the other black belt part of this, a story that I want to tell you. Because I interpret black belt the way you use it, and I always call it level three, but it's the same kind of thing. It doesn't mean to me necessarily super sensational. Starting point is 00:34:43 Carolyn Watt, a few years ago. And she wrote, Bruce, I said I interviewed Carolyn Watt, Dr. Carolyn Watt, a few years ago. And she wrote a paper, well, what's the name of this paper? I got to pull this up. There's nothing paranormal about near-death experiences, how neuroscience can explain seeing bright lights, meeting the dead, or being convinced you are one of them. So, okay, standard skeptical bullshit that we'd expect from science. No, hold up.

Starting point is 00:35:13 She is the head of the parapsychology department at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. Love the accent, but check this out. Now, and this is some kind of weird stuff. Parapsychology is supposed to be the investigation of like ESP, telepathy, that kind of stuff. So you're immediate, you'd be like, huh, why is she being super skeptical on the NDE stuff? Well, oh, here's first, first of the green black belt. They took that department in Edinburgh, one of the few that are actually set up with the whole departments for that, and they

Starting point is 00:35:51 switched it around. They changed the script. They changed it from, let's investigate ESP and parapsychology to, gee, why do people believe weird things? Yes. Right? Right? Right? I get that totally, man. So she writes this article. So I had her on. And, you know, a lot of people hate on me. A lot of people hate on me for doing these confrontational interviews.

Starting point is 00:36:18 I don't see myself as confrontational. I just had Carolyn Watt on and just asked her directly. I said, you misquoted your primary source in this, Dr. Pin von Lommel, who completely disagrees with you. You misquoted this reference. You didn't cite this study. You didn't cite this study. And eventually, I did kind of beat her down for like an hour. But you know what she said? Eventually she said this. I gotta pull up this exact quote because this still blows me away. Where is it?

To educate or allow people to understand your research, your goal is to elicit a response. You're not an honest broker. You know, it doesn't work as a practice if we aren't honest brokers. And that just tells you right away, she's not. Starting point is 01:19:20 So he's out looking for near-death experience accounts that are 500 years old and are reported in Oceana, you know, in the Tonga or in South America or in some native tribe out on the Plains Indians and that's what he's collecting and the reason he's doing it is it's really, really smart. When you go cross culture and you go cross time over a long period of time, you kind of sift out a lot of the crap that we're in the middle of, you know, so you're going on the ESP, you know, I totally get all that stuff you're saying. There's, you know, all our past brothers were there and they met me and I was like this and it said this and if the tribe had, he found this in a lot of cases, if the tribe had one belief system and this guy came back and they all felt like, hey, you know, he's speaking the truth, then they changed, they said, that is the truth.
