Starting point is 00:12:03 Allowing people to have a conversation. And I don't think you see that enough in any podcast. I think people have a point of view and they anchor in on that. And I don't want to do that. I want people, because, you know, the original part of this show, which is, you know, I want to talk about Eddie and what a big part of the, he is. You know, I'd had a falling out with a guy on the show before me, and I was just like, I mean, people just didn't understand me. I was getting fights with people at the comedy store about Hillary Clinton.

Starting point is 00:12:37 I know there's fucking shady shit he was into, obviously. And nobody really, I just felt like conspiracy theorists are you know just like beaten dogs in the alley right and we'd never get a chance to be loved and shined and so I would watch Eddie right I mean like forever there was like nobody to talk to about this shit and then I would watch Eddie on Joe Rogan and just like he would just get shut down by those three guys all the time and I was like man I want a place where people the people the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the the th. the th. th. th. th. th. th. th. Starting point is 00:13:13 And Eddie did the first show ever. So thank you very much, Eddie. I love you very much. Thank you. I wouldn't be doing comedy if it wasn't for Sam. I did comedy before 10th Planet back in like 2001. I was at the comedy store with Joe all the goddamn time. I traveled with Joe when he would do comedy. I would just like be just hanging out and causing trouble.

Starting point is 00:13:42 And I did some open mic nights and stuff. And I realized, damn, you gotta put a lot of work into comedy. You gotta, to get the public speaking skills down, just that alone, forget about being funny. Just having the confidence to get on stage and talk. That's a skill in itself that needs a lot of work and that's why most comedians, most legit comedians, they're going up as much as they can throughout the week, three, four or five times a week.

Starting point is 00:14:10 And I learned that real quick back in 2001 when Joe was put me up on stage. I just didn't have good public speaking skills. I thought maybe my strip club DJ Days would translate. But that shit didn't translate. I thought it would, but it didn't. Comedy is way different than introducing naked chicks on stage. So I got to a point where I thought, you know what, I'm just gonna, there's no way I'm gonna do three, four nights a week at these clubs. I just can't do it. You know I wanted to, I wanted to make it in music that's what I wanted to. So I decided to stop doing stand up and just write sketches with Joe. And then that's what led to Comedy Central. We were on the man show. I was a writer on the to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to tho tho tho too to too too to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to to be to be to be to be too th. th. th. So I thought forget about getting on stage, you know, just gonna take too much work getting my public speaking skills on point. So I just didn't have time for that shit, but I did like writing comedy and I did like putting sketch sketches together. So I did that with Joe on the man show. It was horrible. It was a nightmare experience. It was it was it really was and it would tak. Starting point is 00:16:01 And I started 10 Planet Jiu-Ju-Juiu. It was on a Thursday. June, the first Thursday of June, in, in, in, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, th, and, th, th, th, th, th, th, and I, and I, th, and I, and I, th, and I, and I, I, I, I, I was, I thi, I, I was, I was, I was, I was, I the the the the the the the the the th. I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu. It was on a Thursday. In June, the first Thursday of June in 2003, 18 people showed up. No was it. I showed up. It was 10th Planet from that point on. And Sam did show up.

Starting point is 00:16:17 So I knew Sam before 10 Planet from the comedy store, from my failed attempt at comedy back then and so I just said I walked away from all that shit to fuck Hollywood fuck all that shit but I still wanted to make music though but forget about comedy but I never stopped writing and I thought maybe one day I'll go up on stage and you know because I kept writing and I never did it was like year after year I kept writing but I just didn't go up on stage and 15 years later after 15 years of teaching Jiu-Jitsu and Sam said,

Starting point is 00:16:55 hey man if you ever want to go up on stage I got a show Tuesday night's chaos comedy. I'll throw you up on stage on the main stage. I'm like, shit, damn, you know, that's talk about cut in line. You know, Sam was like, I'll throw you up, dog, I'll throw you up, I know you could do. I'm like, damn, I haven't done comedy in 15 fucking years. I don't know if I got to do this shit. I don't know, because when I started to teaching, I would, just stupid jokes. And I felt like, damn, my public speaking skills have improved since I started teaching. Would that translate to comedy? I didn't know how I thought about it.

Starting point is 00:17:31 And I finally took Sam up on his offer. I went up on a Tuesday night. And I'm like, I'm either going to fucking die and bomb, or all this teaching I've been doing is gonna make up for my public speaking skills. And I went up and I was like, God damn, I'm trying to tell jokes at Jiu-Jitsu school when none of my, I'm bombing at my Jiu-Jitsu school night after night, bombing.

Starting point is 00:17:56 They're not drunk, they don't want to hear jokes, they've been working all day, they wanna do jitsu. I'm used to doing this shit with Otamai, and these mothkers are drunk and don't want to do Jiu-Jitsu. And it just, from that point on, me and Sam started doing shows and we started doing tint foil-foil comedy and it's been like six years now.

Starting point is 00:18:36 Eddie calls me up, he's like, dude, why don't we just do a show, because Eddie would go up and just crush. He's just crushing him. Not really. You would cross. Eddie is way hard on himself. He's literally, if he really focused on comedy, I'm not lying, this isn't me exaggerate. He would be the funniest student comedy,

Starting point is 00:18:58 because every time I hang out with him, he has a new, insane story. He's like, do you ever hear the time I fucking start a punk band with a fucking black guy? I'm like, no, I've never heard this one. Right? It's like the craziest stories, man. And they're the fucking so funny. So what happened was the way we started doing tinfoil hat though, I bomb a lot. It's because when we were doing these shows at the comedy store,

Starting point is 00:19:25 half the crowd would be blue. You know what I mean? So I get up and I'm trying to tell a fucking baby eating joke and just fucking crickets. You could hear the fucking ice machine in the back. You're in baby blood jokes in the main room at the comedy store. So yeah. We need a vaccine now now now. in. So I called up Sam and I said, dude, let's do a show with just everybody on the same

Starting point is 00:19:48 fucking frequency. How cool would that be? No Hillary fans, right? So that's where ten-fourtho-hot comedy was born and we just started doing it and you know. It's not like we're when we get up on stage we're telling conspiracy jokes like back to back. I think we tried that the first time, everyone's like, nah. No, they're just regular pussy jokes and dick jokes, but every now and then we sprinkle in some adrenochrome jokes every now and then.

Starting point is 00:20:16 It's, I like to see how far I could go. That's my whole thing. Starting point is 00:20:58 And dude, I remember getting laughs going, to be what it's like to be Bert Kreischer, right?
