I mean, Dream comes true to write something with Eddie, right? But then also he said the book's not about me, it's about James.

Starting point is 00:06:53 And when you get into it, and you get to know James, and I had a great conversation with him just last night, like when you get to know him, he's a very special person. I think he's a very special person to Eddie too as an example of someone who had, you know, he had cancer, he has a hole in his head now, he had a stroke, he had just a series of health issues. He's gone through it. Yeah, he's gone through it and he come out the, he has come out the other side with a positivity that just exudes him about it last night, and then just the way the perspective he has, considering all he's been through, is just, it just has that kind of impact on you. And, you know, his favorite Bible versus James 1-2 about struggle, about, you know, struggle

Starting point is 00:07:37 being, you know, the obstacles away kind of thing, and, you know, that's really great and you know I've been I've been blessed full disclosure Eddie would love to be here but he had a another podcast already scheduled I couldn't get out so that's why he's not here right now but I know he said he would love to have been here but so I've seen Eddie with James and like Eddie is such a like a bull in a China shop and he's just such a but when James is around he's very gentle and very loving and appreciative of him and it's very cool to see that because this guy goes back with Eddie before the Eddie that we all know. When he was Edgar. Yeah when he was Edgar dude and he was death metal bro and it's fun to hear Eddie talk about that. Even last night the comedy store was watching Eddie, you know,

Starting point is 00:08:27 connecting with the all Latino crowd and watching Eddie kind of learn to spread his wings in comedy. And you know, we've been doing the conspiracy crowds and they love them. But to watch Eddie kind of that, that comfort zone and work with a demographic that I'm very sure that he wants to connect with, you know? Yeah. Because he wasn't your traditional California Mexican. Right. He went down like the heavy, like he didn't connect with them, had crazy kind of childhood

Starting point is 00:08:56 and connected with the death metal people. And I always say this, like Mexicans are like, I love Mexicans. I love everything about Mexicans. They remind me of Italians. They very much, Italians, the Catholic thing, you know, we're going to get into the, you know, the flooding of illegals into America and how I think that has backfired on them because what's coming are economic Marxists which hate the government. Yeah. And Catholics who are tend to be conservative.

Starting point is 00:09:26 Yeah. So they're like, Mexicans aren't down with any of this fucking like, you know. Once you give him citizenship, that's it. Yeah. That's pretty much, we're not fucking with that. They're all, like, dude, like, those Trump rallies were all Mexicans in fucking F-50s, you know. So, know he wants to, but he went, he went down his own kind of road,

Starting point is 00:09:47 which makes Eddie so interesting. I mean, James came at a super important time in his life. You know, he was 16 years old. He had a biological father and a stepfather that just, he was 0 for two, you know, and James is eight years older. So he kind of carried him along and showed him the way in a lot of ways too. And I think when I listen to James like teach me stuff and the way that he's patient with, you know, the things that I'm sure he believes and then he kind of teaches me and carries me along. You see the same way in Eddie is that he's not going to tell you what to, he's gonna exemplify it. He's gonna, you know, show you the way and hope you figure it out on yourself, you know, and James those two and then, you know, helps you along.

Starting point is 00:10:29 Yeah, and it's just a love story, bro. But it's not just about metal and about Eddie, but it's also has a lot of dealing with what's going on in the world right now. Starting point is 00:12:47 And I kind of met you when we started doing the tinfoil hats and we came to Austin and they put us in this giant theater on a Sunday night. Yeah. And we were opposite of the mystery science theater, so everybody in Austin went to that. And we had a hundred people in this giant theater. But it was still a ton of fun, but that's why I met you up. That's why I learned the power of like 10th plant Austin

Starting point is 00:13:10 and their incredible marketing scheme of just putting hot chicks doing jiu-jitsu. And it works. It works. Everyone knows about it. Everybody wants to get the ju-Jit too. But you were struggling then because I don't think you were, you had other occupations you were working on, right? At the time I was really looking to get into the NFL world.

Starting point is 00:13:33 I was really looking to be an NFL agent or work for an NFL team. And then COVID hits, I actually self-published, I actually self-published my first book, Caponomics Building Super Bowl Champions, self-published, so I was like, it was like the money ball for football. And then I had a second edition of that that was supposed to come out in November of 2020. But the riots hit and all the stuff that, you know, went on then, and if you said the wrong thing, during that time supposed to put it out with just got rid of me because I was basically anti-burning down black neighborhoods as I would like to put it. No for sure. Right like it was such a crazy time when you look back at it so it was one of those times where it's like if you don't want me you don't

Starting point is 00:14:14 want me so that's fine you know you want to get rid of me that because I'm not going to that point though, because I know it was like, were they coming on saying it? Were they just alluding to that, you're a little to what they would deem right wing? And maybe you are right wing. I don't know. I'm old school liberal, libertary liberal. When I hear you talk about it, that's where I'm at too. Yeah, I don't give a shit what you do with consenting adults, I'm not going to micromanage your life. We just got to give it a voice. And you see it, like that guy's seen everything, and you see that picture of him getting his Blue Belt, and that dude is affected, man. He is feeling the emotions of achieving a Blue Belt. Starting point is 01:44:19 A Blue Belt is like you're in it. You're committed to it. A blue belt is a huge sign of commitment, like, we want to see that like this is something that you've made your lifestyle, you know. Purple belt is like you're on the way to black belt, right? Brown belt is like, I haven't been there yet, so? Yeah, I love it. But Blue Belt is like you've committed to it man and Joey Diaz it's not easy for him to commit to it. He's 60 years old. So the fact that like people are able to be on this journey and the things that you learn from the sport is in that like there's nothing like it.

Starting point is 01:44:56 The way the person you were there's people your age in the class. Yes. No matter how old you are, there's people your age in the class and they're learning at that pace as well. And you know a black, listen, I don't have a black belt. I got to basically brown belt and JKD.
