Well I think well that's the thing though that's just verified users most people who aren't paying the eight8 are limited to 600 tweets every day. And then new unverified accounts are limited to 300 posts per day. So if you have a new account that's not verified, only 300 posts per day.

Starting point is 00:59:14 Now he did say later in the day after blowback on that, that the limit will soon increase to 8,000 for verified people, 800 for unverified and 400 for new unverified accounts. I think this is similar to what Reddit recently did. I think what you're finding, according to them, what Twitter is finding, is that a lot of apps are using their data and repackaging it, you know, like better than Twitter apps. You remember like a hoot suite? Do you remember that?

And I thought I would record my take on this new rate limit controversy happening right now now on Twitter with Elon Musk limiting Twitter access to 6,000 and now 8,000 twee per day for verified users and 600 to 800 for non-verified. And I'm going to sort of address this issue from the perspective of the center industry because it's a really fascinating thing that Musk just did with wi wide-ranging implications for the science of censorship. So for those who have been calling me and Foundation for Freedom Online for some time, you know that AI censorship is where all of the magic happens.

Starting point is 01:00:46 You know, the Twitter files showed how, and the FBI might come in and get 22 tweets censored. The AI was how EIP and other type of third-party censorship groups were able to get 22,000, mrs. Tweetensors. So the order of, you know, that's six-a. That's six, that's six, the fi. And it all relies on massive scraping of Twitter data in order to build these models and databases to track traugh. to trade narratives, to systematically surveil and build some questions on the trac and to turn down why is he hiking with his shirt button all the way up that's a excellent question it's so weird it's like now depending on when he did this which would be today earlier today which would be technically yesterday when we record when we're recording right now or or a day before, it's gotta be 90.

Starting point is 01:01:48 Because this is the Valley. What if he's like one of those Steve Jobs types? That's just only what he wears is the buttoned up, I'll get respect, roxford. That's all he's got in his closet. Yeah. Once communities, social or public health communities, you know, climate communities, you name it, whatever the sensitive policy issue of the day is, you can use this massive Twitter scraping capacity to ingest everyone's tweets and then disambiguate

Starting point is 01:02:12 out all the words that they're using, the hashtags, the themes, the memes, and to build this sort of code book of online communities that can then be used for mass censorship. So a good example, this is how did EIP end up getting 22 million tweets classified as information? Well, first, you know, they didn't flagged 22 million by hand. This was something that Medi-Hasson, the MSNBC host flaggedly deceived his millions of viewers about. When he said, oh, they only flagged 3,000, not 22 million, not 22,000. Hardy, hardy-told you. No, you're only, their. their. th. th. th. th, okay? So yeah, the 3,000 was just the tip of the 22 million iceberg because back in the Twitter iteration before today, these third-party censorship consortiums could just mass ingest hundreds of millions of tweets all at their tweets in order to build the, you know, the vast censorshipers of the iceberg.
