Today, YouTube retools its influencer marketing program, Pinterest's new partnership will bring more content to its platform, and Instagram tries to claw back some engagement in this very short episode of Today in Digital Marketing. YouTube is planning to revamp its influencer marketing program, Brand Connect, to make it more self-serve and less hands-on. The program, formerly known as FameBit, is the company's in-house marketing tool that matches brands with creators for paid campaigns. Late last year, some creators noticed changes to the service after the Brand Connect team reached out to influencers and talent managers, inviting them to join a self-service

One talent manager noted that their YouTube contact said the new self-service model would still offer deals, but rates might be lower than what Brand Connect typically offers due to the economic slowdown. As a result, several businessider sources reported that the economics of

Brand Connect's new direction was communicated shortly after the tech giant's January round of layoffs, which impacted 12,000 employees. YouTube did not respond to requests for comment. Instagram wants you to repost old content. The platform started testing a new memory story prompt today, which is similar to Facebook's On This Day feature.
Starting point is 00:02:02 For those in the test group, once you tap on the memory story, you'll see previous stories that you shared around that date. As Social Media Today points out, it's pretty much a reiteration of Instagram's archive feature, which can be found in the three bar menu on your profile. But this option gives brands and creators more of a direct push to reshare their past stories. Pinterest continues its push to short form video. The company has struck a deal with one of the biggest publishers in the world to create exclusive branded lifestyle content for the platform. Condé Nast has agreed to produce 160 videos for Pinterest from its brands Vogue and Architectural Digest. Some of the short-form video content will be shoppable and will highlight major events like Fashion Month, Wedding Season, Summer, Back to School, and so on. The new content partnership kicks off next month.
Starting point is 00:02:57 Well, we now know the reason behind Twitter's major outage that took place earlier this week. On Wednesdays, many users were unable to tweet and received a warning that said you are over the daily limit for sending tweets. Platformer reported yesterday that the outage took place because an employee accidentally deleted data about those limits. And in a karmic turn of events, the team that worked on that service left the company in November because of Elon Musk's cuts. at exactclickdigital.com slash audit your DM.
