Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey and welcome to tomorrow I'm your host Josh Wicholsky. Today on the podcast we discuss weed, vibrators, and holographic displays. I don't always one minute. Let's get ready to it. Well, we did it. We're at CES, covering the consumer electronics. For a new website, for a brand new website, and of course, that means we've got a bunch of people from the website, including the wonderful, the brilliant, the talented Evan Rogers Evan.
Starting point is 00:00:55 Hi, yeah, there he is. inputmag.com, go there. Be sure that mics up in your face. How? I don't know, I don't know. I just really love on it. Just like, you know, that's perfect. Yeah, right there, that's too close, maybe. An instant. And then we're keeping all of this. Yeah, I told Ryan, I said, actually really love on it. Just like you know, just like you know, that's perfect Right right there. That's too close maybe an intimate and then we're keeping all of this
Starting point is 00:01:06 Yeah, I told Ryan I said we're gonna do this podcast. We can go straight through we're not gonna do any edits We get this motherfucker up. So listen, so Ryan and I Recorded a podcast last week pre- C. S. And I was like, okay, we got to get I was like the the the fans are hungry Tony's been asking He's like I want a new podcast. I'm like, yes, we have to get I was like the the the fans are hungry Tony's been asking. He's like I want a new podcast I'm like yes, we have done we did want Tony. It's been like a month or something and meanwhile the last one I'm like you were gonna do it every week now. We're really
Starting point is 00:01:35 Committed to really doing tomorrow. Yeah every week. Yeah anyhow, so we did a podcast Ryan's like got it Slavdont were nailed this motherfucker get this I'm gonna get this You know shoot the fucking who you know shoot my shot whatever you know like three days later I'm like you did you put the podcast up? He's like I've been very busy getting ready for CES So needless to say there's a lost podcast which you'll never hear but it was the funniest smartest most Amazing tomorrow of all the audience that you we was pre CES. Yeah, it was kind of a dud Too excited I'm gonna be honest with you, we was pre-CES. It was kind of a dud. It was pretty bad. Let's just say nobody was too excited about it. Anyhow, okay, so here's the deal. So input mag is live, input is real.
Starting point is 00:02:10 Go read it. Hopefully you are reading it. I mean, maybe Tony, I mean, you know, check it out. Click on it on your browser links. Put us in your RSS feed, put us on your socials. Do whatever you need to do to get input into your veins and face. But so we came to CES, we're covering CES, which I am like, I have to say, this is definitely one of the worst CESs. It's so bad. It's definitely
Starting point is 00:02:31 one of the worst of my life. And I'm pretty critical of CES in general. So this one's a real like to say that it's one of the worst is like a real, you know, I mean, we're scraping the bottom of the barrel. Someone said to me, what did you find in the show for this morning? And I was like, there's a toothbrush with a camera. I mean, here's what I'll say. Here's what I'll say just quickly about just, well, I mean, we're going to talk a lot about some of the things.
Starting point is 00:02:55 Now, there are some cool things here. There are some very cool concepts here. This is concept ES. Yes, yes, that's exactly right. Concept ES is exactly, is exactly how I'm going to think of it Like there's a lot of stuff here that's like in 10 years this will be sick as fuck. It's like Delta's like It's like we made the we made an extra skeleton for you to lift bag for our guys to lift bags is like cool Like you will not actually deploy this for a probably a decade if ever. It's a very cool idea though
Starting point is 00:03:24 You know, Samsung has this thing neon, which we're going to talk. We'll talk about it. Yeah. Neon, my fucking, I'm going to fucking kill me off. I'm going to kill all people involved with the neon project. No, that's, I'm kidding. I'm not going to do that. But I'm so mad. Samsung's been building up with hyping up this thing. And it's like actually a very cool idea. And they actually have some really interesting and cool technology that I believe is real, but it's very hard to tell because everything's couched and these like vague quasi mystical terms. And like they're like
Starting point is 00:03:53 Neon, don't believe what you see what you believe what you are. And it's like what I don't know. Well, you're like, you're like what with the price point for this being there like me on doesn't like price point like what's a price in the world of Neon? I was like, I don't know. You tell me, can you just walk us through like the timeline of like PR drops? Does it's been really funny? Well, first, the first thing that happened at CES was Samsung did ayahuasca. No, no, wait, back up.
Starting point is 00:04:16 Back up like a month ago or something or several weeks ago. I mean, they've already been so like Neon like, stuck out there. But then the Pranav mystery who's the head of the of the project and who runs a thing called star labs, which is also the name of a fictional laboratory in Superman from DC Comics in 1971. I'm sure that's an accident. He started dropping all these like mystical hints on like Twitter and like all the shit like I think therefore I am neon dot lifeon.life, it's like, okay, dude, let's see. And they're like, it's not Bixby,
Starting point is 00:04:48 and I'm like, okay, good, because Bixby is really an asshole. And so it's like, so- It was very, I love B's. And then there was a leak. Yeah. Then there was a leak, and it's like these people who look like real people,
Starting point is 00:04:59 but they're actually computer-generated, and it's like, oh my god. So it's actually really, I mean, the idea I believe is this. So they do this for weeks, and then there was some leaks, and then they're like, it's like, oh my god. So it's actually really, I mean, the idea I believe is this. So they do this for like weeks, and then there were some leaks, and then they're like, it's here. And it was like, the press release was like, it's what you definitely already thought it was
Starting point is 00:05:13 with not very much more detail. And like, they're like, come to the press conference at two o'clock the next day, and we're gonna show you, it's gonna all will be explained. I'm like, okay. You know, but the idea is, before I talk about the press conference, we're gonna show you, it's gonna all will be explained. I'm like, okay. But the idea is, before I talk about the press conference, the idea is like, these are like avatars that are based on real people,
Starting point is 00:05:35 but then are like turned into CGI, and then they can do like this like wild range, using like, they have a process, some kind of system called Core R3, which is apparently like, I assume, I don't know, an AI and a renderer and some other bullshit. And so they have these like avatars, they look like real people,
Starting point is 00:05:50 they seem to be moving and talking like real people. And the idea is that like, they will become presences for a business or in your phone or whatever, like people you can think you, literally dehumanizing things like customer service. Yeah, well, they're dehumanizing and then rehumanizing So there look beyond what's next
Starting point is 00:06:11 Now also a riddle. Yeah Like you got a bank to life a tree what whisper like what can me on do for you today? You're like I'm gonna need a cash a check. They're like would use a check Sorry, what's the number of the customer service department? Oh, it's not a number. It's just a buy. So, so, so, so, yeah. So, I mean, it's an interesting idea. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:06:31 No one really knows like what the actual technology is, how it's being done, but what it will cost. So, we went to the, we went to the neon. They have a separate, whole separate area. It's see, but wait, Samsung has like an entire like universe at see on the CES show floor. If you think of like islands of adventure, Samsung has like its own Jurassic World. But you should understand this for people who've never attended a CES.
Starting point is 00:06:52 Like the large companies here, like the the Samsung's and the LG's and Sony, Sony have like entire universes set up. It's like a full warehouse. It's a hard. It's a Costco. You could spend several hours just at their, I mean, I'm low to call them booths because that's not what they are. They're like, you know, installations, like massive installations,
Starting point is 00:07:11 like gallery size installations. So, so Samsung has this whole world. But then separate from the Samsung world is the neon world, neon.life.cs at C.S at cs 5-5 5-5 So we would go over to neon world which oh sorry neon world is I should say is an event they announced at neon world at cs This is all took place before the Westworld event. Yeah, so we go to the booth They're like 2 p.m. I got there at one. I'm like, let's get set up early because I really, I'm gonna fucking nail this.
Starting point is 00:07:47 I gotta know, gotta see. So the only thing, I say actually to be honest with you, the only thing that's even seen remotely that interesting to see, yes to me this year. Is it like, maybe they'll pull something out of their ass that's like, wow, this is really, you know, I just still get, like, I will get excited about something new.
Starting point is 00:08:02 Like if I think you can actually do it and you're gonna try to fucking pull it off, like, so anyhow, so we go there and then they start doing a demo. And there's like a dude, like a middle-aged white dude with like a tablet that's controlling these like avatars on the screen. Supposedly, there was this like yellow wire
Starting point is 00:08:17 running from his tablet into a hole in the wall where there's like an area that I couldn't see. And all I could imagine is that there's people back there like doing like real-time rendering like controlling like Yeah, that level yellow wire was hooked up to a cup It's like it's just like it's just like well. I don't know whatever so so then so he's get the so the weird thing is like He gets these like women on screen and he's like smile for me, and I'm like this is Yeah, he's like can you show me how what a smile? You know show me a smile. How about another one?
Starting point is 00:08:44 I'm like how about like smile? Why not just do this with a girl and a guy? Maybe just to mix it up. Maybe not tell our women to smile more. And no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, female. So, no, it's like, it's like, so I made a me on my Wii. So listen, so they, so, so if they were, and they claim they were like reacted in real time, though I saw them run through this demo three times because what happened is they were like rehearsing the demo when we got there.
Starting point is 00:09:17 So we saw the whole thing, I shot video of it, and I like wrote about it. And then like Pranov comes up and he starts to do the demo and he's going through all this philosophy bullshit and all this like, oh, here's, you know, we thought what's, you know, more human than human. He's like, you're, you're not to row like just settle down over there. But the whole thing is very Westworld. I mean, the avatars, their interface, they have a little thing on the corner that's like shows their emotional spectrum or whatever. I mean, it's like very, and the tablet thing. Yes. I mean, it shows something. I don't
Starting point is 00:09:43 know what it's like probably just showing the emotion gradually, it's right to show it to you. And like how what the CPUs are getting faster. Yeah, the level of course will help you with the fuel level and your motion can later down. Yeah. So, so anyhow, it's like, yeah,
Starting point is 00:09:55 it's like has a little thing in the corner. It's like alive. It's like a recording button, a recording like a like a live. Yeah, it's like it's like a little dot. It does a lot. Yeah, exactly. Anyhow, it's real silly little, a little, a little, a lot. Yeah, exactly. Anyhow, it's real silly.
Starting point is 00:10:06 But they're very realistic and cool looking. So the thing is the demo, the demo's like, it's rough. Yeah. Like the lips are, same thing. The idea, the lips aren't synced up perfectly. The voices sound pretty robotic. But like the actual avatar looks pretty real. Then Pranav, he comes up and he starts doing his thing
Starting point is 00:10:24 and he's like, he gets like, to the two parts of the demo we saw and he's like, now I'm gonna blow you away and then it's like they have some technical glitch that he just can't work. And he's like, come back in two hours. I promise we'll show you something amazing. I was like, I'm now done. Was it like a cool glitch?
Starting point is 00:10:37 Like a once for like, it was like, it was like, it was like, freamy, John. Now it's like these guys from like, M-I. Sorry. Sorry. Yeah. All of the avatars looked towards the audience. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:49 And they'll like help us. Give us your flash. Please, we have none of our own. So like that, he was like, look, we're having technical difficulties here, blah, blah, whatever. I'm like, OK, he's like joining us at Neon World towards the end of the year where we're going to really reveal the R3 core R3 system. And I'm like, you know what, buddy, you've, you've really, you've really, really, I'm being on another
Starting point is 00:11:13 flight. You burned, you've burned my goodwill. Like, I wanted to like it. I wanted to love it. Yeah. I said, I said, I think I tweeted early on. I was like, I'm going to find Neon at CS and force it to fall in love with me But that did not happen although I will say I will say I'm gonna be very candid The first thing I thought when I saw the avatars was like how soon until people to pin horn how soon until people can have sex with these It's I was like no, I mean because that's the I mean you look at Westworld It's like obviously the concept first thing they did You want to like fuck it and kill it like that's what you want to do because humans are dumb.
Starting point is 00:11:47 We're like dumb animals. And I was like, I was like, let me understand this. You have created like a totally life like avatar of very fit and very beautiful men and women for customer service. Okay, I guess so. They're like the yoga instructor and the flight attendant. And I'm like, these are porn roles. These are like, what I know people do, I know people do the jobs, but like, it's always like the pizza guy.
Starting point is 00:12:18 Yeah, the pizza guy. Really, really hot pizza guy. No, there's like, there's like a, there's like a guy who's like, he's like a fitness instructor and he's like super cut. And there's like, there's like a guy who's like a fitness instructor and he's like super cut. And there's like this like cute like nerdy guy with a camera and like the whole thing is just like, it's just they're obviously beautiful people for context.
Starting point is 00:12:34 There's a lot of you. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no body-shaming thing. You know, we looked at this thing, we'll get to talk about that a little bit. But like, there was no neon that needed to like, needed the neon fitness guy. Like, they were all in great shape. So just your mind automatically goes to like, you know.
Starting point is 00:12:57 Okay. C.S. is before the porn award. They're like, and you're describing like, beautiful archetypes available to do with every new life. It's like, he was like, Maya, show me your surprise face. I'm like, Maya, show me your breath. I'm like, her face.
Starting point is 00:13:10 Her face, is that what you should ask you for? Well, let me ask you, what would have been cool? What would have been cool is if they were like, one, they worked, and you could interact with them. They're like, go ahead and have a conversation. And they actually could have a conversation. And they're like, so we're gonna roll this out early in 2021. You'll be able to like subscribe to different,
Starting point is 00:13:30 you know, avatars on your phone, or tablet, or computer, whatever, and like have conversations with them, or like play games with them, or what, like it'd be really cool if it was like, they can like play a game with you. See, that's the thing about when I was at the Samsung conference, not related to Neon. The other Samsung.
Starting point is 00:13:46 Yeah, the other very long Samsung conference. Yeah. A lot of it was messaging, it was like enterprise sales. Do you know what I mean? No, this was very B2B. Yeah, a lot of stuff they were talking about was like, ZS is very B2B. Well, ZS is actually a fucking B2B show.
Starting point is 00:14:01 And for those for Tony, if you're listening, that means business to business. Yes. This is a show when people are like This is show where people are like I'm I'm I'm I M in China. I've created a Bluetooth belt. It's a belt that will like buckle itself But and now I need a distributor for North America and like the distributors are like this is little so go great in my I'm starting a new online belt shop or whatever. I mean, that's not exactly how it goes.
Starting point is 00:14:26 I'm one of those drop ship Instagram influencers. And I, I, I, I, I need a white label belt. Yeah. We were saying earlier that the CES is two vibes for the most part. One is this thing does what you do with it itself, but worse or two, these used to be two things. Now they're one thing.
Starting point is 00:14:45 And it does go worse. Exactly. Yeah, I mean, it's a toothbrush MP3 player. It's like, okay, there's a lot of stuff there. Like, I mean, we were walking around CS and Val and they're like, we walked past this thing and it was like these cool looking glasses. I'm like, oh, what's this?
Starting point is 00:14:58 And I was like, it's like, this looks like the way they had a brand, it was like, oh, maybe these glasses have like a filter. Make other people, they have some kind of filter in them that like we'll make other people look better like I Ain't always on Instagram filter. Yeah, like they like no, they play music through the their bone induction. I'm like Okay, who fucking cares? I'm sorry who fucking cares like there's a lot of shit like that here But anyhow, yeah, sorry. Oh, neon. Well, so neon. But I mean, I asked you what would be cool.
Starting point is 00:15:27 And it'd be cool if it was a product. That'd be cool. It'd be cool if it could explain it beyond vague. I mean, I'm getting too old for this shit. You know what I mean? You need to go beyond vague. Like, it's OK if you're in your press release, you're giving us some vague bullshit.
Starting point is 00:15:44 There's actually a quibi announcement today that I think is very similar, where they're like, look at this new technology, where you can like spin your phone and the video will pivot, it's called like, turn style or whatever the fuck it's called. But it's like, okay, yeah, but like, what? But who cares, like, what is the actual thing
Starting point is 00:15:59 that you're selling to me? Yeah. This is like, I'm glad that you came up with some like quasi mystical way to describe the future of like virtual of humans But you need to tell me why you're showing it to me like Just to show me that it can be done is not enough at the yeah the subtext is if you're a business You could buy this at least delta's like well. We have guys, you know
Starting point is 00:16:18 We have people out there working to pick up really heavy bags and like we think we can make it easier for them to carry around more Weight and not like strain themselves and injure themselves. Here's an exoskeleton. It's like, okay, this makes total sense. What I think I'm a little sick of is companies, for example, like Alienware, this week, not really at CS, but, you know, as counter programming, showed off a bunch of concept stuff. And like, I'm not a fucking, I didn't fly here to be a focus group for you. I'm not writing a piece that's like,
Starting point is 00:16:45 here's what they should do and how it will succeed and here's what the business model could be and you're gonna have to be able to contact them. I've got about that. I'm not a consultant. I forgot about that completely. So like a couple of years ago, they had that like, like not a computer laptop enclosure
Starting point is 00:16:58 for your phone where the phone like went into the touchpad thing. Oh yeah, and like Motorola. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, motor roll. And no, motor roll thing. Well, that's the older one. Motor roll had right. Yeah. I had one of those. The fail. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:08 The fail. That sounds like such an average brand. You's by. Oh yeah. It's great. Listen, I got a whole HP thing I can tell you about. It's very much like that. But that's very much.
Starting point is 00:17:17 At CES, that was like a concept thing, but it was like a product that you could get. And it is sucky that they're like kind of like, well, what do you guys feel about it? Like, should we make this? Should we make it? And you're like, I don't know, should you? You're down.
Starting point is 00:17:29 I think there are some pockets of interesting stuff here. I do think that, I mean, more than ever, I think there's a couple of things that are happening in CS and that are the demonstrate trends that we've been talking about and looking at in this industry forever. I mean, they demonstrate some of the trends of like why I was like got so bored with tech a few years ago, which is like everybody's doing a kind of like slightly tweaked version of the same thing. There is a real valley of innovation, which is fine because that happens like we've had an explosion of innovation, the people who are making the products don't necessarily have a really good idea. They're like, they know they need to do something.
Starting point is 00:18:08 Like, the force of capitalism is so strong that they have to every quarter and every year have a clear idea. All or stuck an Alexa into a shower head. Yeah, because they're just, they're like, what do we do with our faucets? But at least there's an argument that the Alexa and the shower head,
Starting point is 00:18:21 there are some people, they'll say, I was like, this is no, no thank you. I don't want to fucking Alexa in my shower head. But there were people who were like, I do, I was like, this is no thank you. I don't want to fucking Alexa in my shower head. But there were people who were like, I do. I always need to know the news while I'm showering. It's like, well, okay, I feel like that's a you problem. But the shower.
Starting point is 00:18:31 Like, something like to talk to your therapist about. Not whole depot. Yeah, it's like the shower is the place where I do not want to hear the news. I'm like, maybe there's one place where I could not listen to the news. Really? Okay, that's not.
Starting point is 00:18:42 I know I'm a sick person. No, I read the news in bed. Then I get up and I go on the shower and for that glory I'm trying to explain it off of you. Yeah, the glory is 15 minutes. That can't touch me. Yeah, no dude. I'm like, I'm like, yeah, it's like I wake up. I look at Twitter.
Starting point is 00:18:55 I look at like the front page of some publications. Let it a deep sigh. I'm like, all right, bye. So check this out. So I went, when I went to Eureka Park, which for those that don't know. It's like the new, for those that don't know everybody. Yeah, every single person. It's like new stuff.
Starting point is 00:19:13 But when I went through the AI, there's like sections. And one of them is like AI and machine learning. And basically, like what you're saying, there is some kind of permutation of one type of tech plus machine learning. Like you just walk down and you see everything that people have put in the particle collider
Starting point is 00:19:29 for like AI. Yeah, they're like spoons. Right. Like what if a spoon could predict it? But a few years ago, that ship was hot. Like a few years ago it was like the 2B AI toothbrush or whatever that was like trying to brush your teeth. Oh yeah, that's right.
Starting point is 00:19:40 But now, but now everything is in everything. Like there's something in everything. Yes. Like everything has a chip in it. So now it's like, everything's trying to do more than what it did or what it did for you, but now everything is in everything. Yes. Right. Like everything has a chip in it. So now it's like, everything's trying to do more than what it did or what it did for you, but not as good as you could do it. Right.
Starting point is 00:19:51 Right. And there's also, but we're also in it. We're also in this place where, you know, Sony showed off a car and Audi has an autonomous car and there's a crazy Mercedes here. And it looks like a pretty competent car. Yeah. Like in all things, I said it. But I mean, that's an interesting, but cars are an interesting area where now
Starting point is 00:20:06 I feel like people are starting to go, wait a second. This is a place where there could be like mobility. And yet like the mobility stuff you're seeing here, there's very little in the way of truly interesting. Like there's no real, I haven't seen any really interesting like scooter tech, motorcycle tech, or like, not here. The year of the board is not here.
Starting point is 00:20:25 I mean, we saw this dumb segue thing, which is like part wheelchair, part stroller, part scooter. It's a wildy chair. It's a chair you can sit in and ride around in. It's an act. But to me, which is like it blocks your entire, the entire rear view of your, it like wraps around your head.
Starting point is 00:20:40 Yes. So it seems like a really bad idea personally. But then you can go 24 miles an hour, which is great. Is that even here? Have we even seen it? It is here. I have not seen it. Anyhow, the point is that this is one of the worst CES ever. But there are some diamonds in the rough. But they're, but they're also like still pretty rough. I mean, L'Oreal has this thing, you know, that Ryan it to where, you'll be able to make your own makeup and skin care at home. So Lori Al and Nutrigena both came with this idea of like,
Starting point is 00:21:11 rather than having to go to a retail counter and deal with whoever's working there, what if we got the best AI and the best like sensors to analyze your skin and tell you what it needs? The ad, obviously they're also collecting all of your data on that stuff and it's a little bit creepy. But the value add for L'Oreal is they created a printer that will print for you skin care based on your needs, the humidity, UV exposure, what you eat yesterday, if you're going to
Starting point is 00:21:38 exercise, it also prints makeup and it also prints lipsticks, like foundation and lipsticks. That's kind of a worthwhile trade for me. Like I might give L'Oreal this info about when I exercise and like what the sun exposure I get is if it means that they can easily create that stuff. That's like, you know, I understand I would be cutting down on my ability to buy stuff from competitors, but if it actually works and it can actually target skin care,
Starting point is 00:22:03 that would be nice little ad. Nutri-Gena came with basically the same idea, but instead, their thing gives you numerical scores on how attractive you are, and then recommend Nutri-Gena product. It doesn't actually say attractive, though. Well, it says like wrinkles, dark circles, aging, like loss of volume. That's attractive. You know, I actually, I have a shortcut, if you want to, if you want to get some analysis on that stuff You're just gonna fucking mirror just go to see yeah, just go to see us and let your co-workers take a picture of you And then you can really I've it so many pictures take it to be here and I'm like oh, is that what my face looks like now
Starting point is 00:22:36 Is that like I was like the night after we went out for drinks? I push it to the limit. I was like is this what's happening to my body? Okay, maybe it's time to take a step back and reevaluate my life choices. Um, but yeah, no, but it is, but it is, I mean, that's actually somewhat interesting though, because it is a frontier that is not well mapped in terms of like skin care is a hot thing. Yeah. All basically a scam, but it's a hot, it's hot. Makeups real. Like people love makeup and it definitely does something. People love it. And it's useful. Is there a skin care scam? Is there most of it? Is there a way to some block? It's not a scam.
Starting point is 00:23:12 Not a moisturizer. Not a 90-95. No, it's dope. Moisturizer is real, especially in fucking Vegas. Yeah. Oh my god. So dry. But the thing is, if you can make it easier for me to get what I need and I don't have to think about it, like I don't have to test out products and blah, blah, you'll just make the one that's going to work for me. That's great. NutriGena isn't doing that. NutriGena has created its own personal like assistant that will tell you what NutriGena products to buy. And basically what they're hoping is that this becomes a meme so that
Starting point is 00:23:36 teenagers will take a picture of their face and post their scores and compare their scores. Yeah, it's like, it's really bad. It's like, it's like, it's really scary. It's like the way watchers for kids thing. Yeah. Yeah. It's like, it's like, it's like, listen, not what you don't know about that. No. Yeah, they launch an app that's like for kids, like trying's like, it's really bad. It's like, it's really scary. It's like the way watchers for kids thing. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:45 It's like, it's like, listen, not what you don't know about that. No, yeah, they launch an app that's like for kids, like trying to like, like have better nutrition or whatever. And it's like, I just think it's like, here, Tubby. I think like, like, like, there's two things. That's the fact, kid, I could tell you. There's two things that, there's two things, right? One is like, really is really, really is the job
Starting point is 00:24:03 of that kid's parents to deal with their eating stuff like they have to they have to be closer like I don't want to be preachy But if your kid is like 10 years old and like eating Snickers all day or whatever that you need to address that as like a family not Not via way watchers, but also like the idea of like tracking what you eat I mean one of the when you hear people who have you who have serious body dysmorphia or weight issues, like who struggle with dieting and stuff like that, they talk about how they learned very early on as a kid to watch their calories and do that. And that really fucks kids up.
Starting point is 00:24:36 It like fucks up for life. So we don't really need weight watchers to step in and be like, it's better nutrition. But you do want to know how many calories are in that banana, don't you? I think it's like the same thing. It's like the intention might be, might be like in line with what New Georgina wants to do, which is like, make more data, make people, well, but they want to make people look better and make money while doing it. The track record of corporations,
Starting point is 00:25:01 dealing with anything that even remotely comes close to mental health has been absolutely a body. It's really bad. This is a small company, but they're presenting here. And they were like, and I feel a little bit bad because there's just like a kind of a small thing, but like their idea is, you know, they were like, look at these patents we've received on this. And it basically the idea is like, it's an AR app,
Starting point is 00:25:25 it's called an, it's called an vision body, right? Yeah, it's called. It's an AR app that basically says like, you well, you're a tubby. Here's what you look like if you're really skinny. It basically kind of shames you into exercising. Yeah. Like, I just feel like people already feel shame.
Starting point is 00:25:41 Like I do. I'm like, and I'm like, you know, not like into, I don't think I'm in terrible shape. But like, I'm like, you know, not like into, I don't think I'm in terrible shape. But like I'm like, wow, I could improve this. I don't think anybody, I mean, very few people, I would guess probably look in the mirror and are like, I like everything I see. So I don't know that we need to reinforce that
Starting point is 00:25:55 via America. I will say this, celebrities, stunning celebrities, who are famous for being incredibly unbelievably hot and perfect, and have a team of people maintaining that for them, still retouch their Instagram photos. So this thing is just gonna create insecurities in people that necessarily don't need them.
Starting point is 00:26:10 We didn't have them. Well, we live in an insecurity panopticon. It's like, it's like all social media is like, look at yourself and look at others all the time. We're not asking you to evaluate how they look, but the reality is like the, one of the sole uses of social media is to like look at people and basically make some kind of judgment on how they look or if what they're doing is good or if like you agree or disagree
Starting point is 00:26:33 with like the thing that they're doing. And I mean like a top category of book is like how do I hack my life to be better at products. A four hour work week, a four hour boss. How do I optimize myself for capitalism? Well, she is very I mean it's all I have I don't know if you read trick me or You read you love it. She has she did it. She did a piece in there about like optimizing and the whole kind of that whole the whole idea of like Optimization culture. Yeah, and it is like it is like it is I will say this and I think there's a direct there is a direct link
Starting point is 00:27:06 It is like, it is like, I will say this, and I think there is a direct link between technology and that. I mean, obviously, we've always been, for a long time, we've been in a place where people are expected to kind of improve themselves. But I think the technology is hastened and perverted in many ways. This idea of like being healthier or feeling better with this like idea that you can upgrade. I mean, I think the power of the concept of upgrading is really strong. There was a period where the thing you had was, that was it.
Starting point is 00:27:30 Like you weren't like a clock radio and that was a clock radio. And you had it, and there was a period where you're like, I bought a refrigerator. The refrigerator will probably not really ever change. I will own this refrigerator for a long time. And now if you walk around see, yeah,, they're like, the refrigerator has Android. Yes. Like, like, you know, and it's also like, well, here's, I mean, that's an example. Here's an example. Here's an example.
Starting point is 00:27:51 It used to keep TVs for 10 years. Right. And now it's like, well, this one doesn't have Disney. You know what? For like 400 bucks. Why not? That's true. So a good example. And I think something that's cool that we can talk about was that the Samsung conference they mentioned, this robot called Bolly. Right. Bolly. Bolly. So it's a sphere and it rolls around then it's pretty much a clone of the thing that LG made a little while back but we don't talk about that. Roll it. It was called Rolly. It was a call I don't remember. But to your point though, like what? Sphere I was another one. BB eight people are really dumb. They're like, Sphere. No, no, no, no, but like what's Samsung
Starting point is 00:28:23 Samsung didn't talk about all the different types of companionship that Bolly can provide to you. What Samsung talked about was this can help you at skinny. Yes, skinny. I'm like, you know, it can remind you to do things. I didn't really pay that much attention to that thing. Do they say it can help you get skinny?
Starting point is 00:28:44 Well, it's like, yeah, it's like reminders to use the gym to get up in the morning, drop these things up, play with your dog. Yeah, I need a ballie to play with my dog. That's what I want. I was thinking that why wouldn't the first use case for that be like put me in dog mode, I'll roll around and keep your tire your dog out so you can enjoy it.
Starting point is 00:29:01 Well, real talk, a dog will massacre Bolly day one. Bolly is gonna be victimized. Yeah, but at least we'll have it. Well, real talk, a dog will massacre Bali day one. Bali is going to be victimized. Yeah. But, you know, at least we'll have it on video because it does have a camera. Yeah, it's great. No, they didn't. I at least in the conference, they did not talk about how it does the camera. It must have like a gyro where like camera stays in a certain center.
Starting point is 00:29:17 So yeah, the center part, it's very Star Wars. Yeah, it's very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very Yeah, they're like BB8's a good idea. Let's deal it. Well, they do a lot of partnerships with with Star Wars They're like Samsung is like the boss right they had that note who doesn't well, they all you get
Starting point is 00:29:29 Cute tips made that look like Princess like nobody on the on the on the but on the phone side. They're like oh yeah Show like like they have official phone of space. Yeah, they have like AR stuff where you can like you know Put an x-wing in the sky and your photos whatever And they're right. So yeah, I mean, it's interesting. I mean, there's a lot of that. So I'm up there. Well, I mean, there was a time, I mean, I think about this a lot, there was a time when like, it wasn't, I mean, by the way, I love an upgrade. I love it. But, but we have to be, like everything in technology, we have to start to think about like the implications of the upgrade. And I think there's places where it makes sense and the places where it doesn't. I mean, we have to start to think about like the implications of the upgrade. And I think there's places where it makes sense and there's places where it doesn't.
Starting point is 00:30:06 I mean, we wrote a, there's a piece today that we put up that is very controversial. RAN, I had a long, oh, yeah, about it, which is like, don't buy an AK TV. And it's like one, the actual difference in visuals to the human eyes, almost imperceptible. It is not a jump like SD to HD or even HD to. Right. Right, right. And it's from a bandwidth perspective because all media is basically streaming now
Starting point is 00:30:30 from a bandwidth perspective is an insane amount of bandwidth to be eating up to watch a fucking movie. And a slightly sharper format. Exactly. And when you think about gaming, it like pushes, you're pushing so many pixels at 8K. That you need, know it's great Because it'll push people to make like more powerful GPUs. That's awesome
Starting point is 00:30:50 But like that's at the at the extreme edge of need right most people are like have to are running 1080p content and are totally fine with it They're like that's great 4k is like wow this does look better I wouldn't say the jump from 1080 to 4k is like, my brain is fried, but now we're like, well, we're just doing 4K panels because the prices are coming down and that's the evolutionary chain. So the argument of the article is not even like, don't ever buy an AK TV, but it's like, wait,
Starting point is 00:31:15 till the time is actually right to buy an AK TV and like the hype around it and the unabashed, like just what if, like saying, oh wow, this is so excited, this is so new, is like, needs to be contained in the same way. Let me just ask you a question. You're gonna talk about how you love a K. No, no, no, no, let me ask you a question.
Starting point is 00:31:29 Yeah, ask me a question. If you live in a rural community and you have access only to DSL, like millions of Americans do, should you buy an AK TV? I mean, absolutely not. It's a point, dude, I don't know anybody. I don't know a single hold on. Wait, there's so much streaming. No, hold on. People don't talk about the fact that like fucking there's a reason they still make
Starting point is 00:31:48 blu-rays because there's not access to this. Let me ask you a question. Do you watch content in 4K? Yeah. Never. I do. You don't. Oh my god. Do you know anybody who's like, I'm like all about 4K? Do you watch everything in 4K? You can't. No, I only watch when things are available in 4K and we'll go to that. So like on your phone, most of the time Netflix won't let you download the 4K version of something. I'm like, okay, but your phone, but forget about your phone. Yeah, no, what I was gonna say was on my big screen TV,
Starting point is 00:32:14 on when I'm using the PlayStation, I can sit down, watch a specific Netflix show. It will happen to show up in 4K. It looks nice. I'm like, oh yeah, that's in 4K. I don't really, but you're not like, I must seek out all 4K content. No, I think in that you're not in average consumer. You're a fucking nerd. And I'm so I'm doing the one percent of the one percent of the one percent of the one percent extreme. I own elite. I own everything that gets released.
Starting point is 00:32:38 Right. I mean, right, right. You buy the fucking analog limited edition shit. Yeah, right? Which has been really cool guys. Very, very cool. Very cool. Regular people, 45% TV sold in 2019 were 1080. Yeah, 45%. Now, there were 55% that were 4K, but not because people were like, I need 4K. Because that's like, every TV has 3D. You know that, right?
Starting point is 00:33:02 My TV has 3D, I bought a TV, is 3D. Well, it's like, why would I have a fucking music is 3D. I know why would I ever fucking use it. It's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just,
Starting point is 00:33:11 it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, it's just, They needed 8K to like, what they do is they like map the software. We need holographic display. Like it's a real volumetric display.
Starting point is 00:33:26 It's like a thick piece of glass. So it shows dementia. It shows dementia. Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. Well, I will say I had a meeting with Qualcomm and they were talking about how the XR2 like chip is good to do an amazing amount of AR stuff. And I was like, well, then what's the bottle man? I click, why aren't we seeing any of this?
Starting point is 00:33:44 And they were like, the displays aren aren't there the battery technologies in there and we can't we're doing our best work with partners to like get it there but we don't like welcome does try. Yeah, they're trying so hard. Here's what I want. You're like user thing. I want to see display technology being put into into I want to see innovation in VR display technology. Yeah, I want to see glass. I want to see glasses. I can put on my glasses. I like eyeglasses. They have that have high-per-high resolution displays where you cannot see pixels that have no latency high high-resistant when you do that. They hinted to me that Niantic and them are working very hard to create a Pokemon go glasses experience that will be pretty seamless for normies
Starting point is 00:34:27 And I think that that will be the first of those like we heard it here first. Was that off the record? No, it was not off the record. Why didn't you write about it? We it's been known that they've been working with them and the guests has been on AR glasses Right, this was a very win-win conversation. I'm like, let's talk in a couple months And maybe you'll also read right so. Go on and put back that gum. Listen guys, wow, we're really just spilling the tea right now. I dropped this in Slack and everyone yonded it. But I can't say that I didn't. I didn't yond, I was busy editing.
Starting point is 00:34:52 We're all yonding. We're all yonding out. We're very tired, because I'm exhausted. No, but I think, look, I just, anyhow, so there's other stuff going on when you're talking about. I'm just, I'm very sorry. Well, don't buy an AKTV. Don't buy an AKTV now. But AK is cool. But you're gonna, well, don't buy an AKTV. Don't buy an AKTV now.
Starting point is 00:35:05 But AK is cool. But you're gonna buy, you're gonna buy an AKTV because they're going to just make, but don't chase it. Yes. There's something to do with it now. Don't go out and drop five grand and be like, I got my 200 inch AKTV, like,
Starting point is 00:35:16 I don't believe the hype. Yeah, don't believe the hype. Be free. I be free. I have a 1080p TV. I know that's a stunning admission, but you have a 1080. Yeah. I know that's a stunning admission, but you have a 1080. Yeah, I actually I'll be real I I only have slightly diminished vision and I couldn't imagine having having more
Starting point is 00:35:34 I mean your TV is smaller than 40 inches is this 40 inches or smaller? There's literally no reason to have for I think I used the 605 is the threshold where they say that If it's at higher than 65 then's interesting. I think it's interesting. I think it's interesting. I think it's interesting. I think it's interesting. I think it's interesting. I think it's interesting. I think it's interesting.
Starting point is 00:35:50 I think it's interesting. I think it's interesting. I think it's interesting. I think it's interesting. I think it's interesting. I think it's interesting. I think it's interesting. I think it's interesting.
Starting point is 00:35:58 I think it's interesting. I think it's interesting. I think it's interesting. I think it's interesting. I think it's interesting. I think it's interesting. I think it's interesting. I think it's interesting. I think it's interesting. I think it logo for the PS5 and he books exactly like the one for the PS3 and the PS5. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:09 Is it a revolution in the logo design? No, it's cool. I, you got to respect Sony, the PlayStation page. They're like, who cares? Who cares? God, I want that experience. Like, it's, what's the experience phone? It's like the experience, I, it's the, theoretically, the experience by the way. Every experience sucks. I've had a lot of experience. You's the theoretically the experience I've had
Starting point is 00:36:25 You were so hype about it. No, listen, yeah, I as the experience I will 100% confirmed that they suck and I want the Spiria is the one that you use in Metal Gear Yeah, it's always like every fucking Sony in every like in every like metal. They love top-demon I feel like there's a lot of games where like so many pulls out like an experience Yeah, you see Peter Parker Char did their character on their Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, for sure. He's like, you know what I would love to see the all female ghost muster No, for sure like the best place to use experience is in a virtual world in a Sony game
Starting point is 00:36:59 Like they're like flawless really and they're like hey, did you want to open the PlayStation now app and stream the game? We'll end in your game. You know, you joke that that's the future. When you get the, when you get the fucking resolution up, we'll be all sad. We'll be all sad. We just got to get to 25k. I was indoctrinated to Sony when it was like the like the Laura Croft movie with Angelina Jolie back of the day. She had the Tomb Raider. Yeah, the Tomb Raider.
Starting point is 00:37:23 Well, yeah, the Tomb Raider one. What the, you, what's the Tomb Raider the Tomb Raider. Yeah, the Tomb Raider one. Yeah, the Tomb Raider one. What's the Tomb Raider? Tomb Raider. Yeah, Lara Croft. Yes. She's iconic. And she is the Tomb Raider. Iconic.
Starting point is 00:37:31 She does raid Tomb Raider. Male-created character. Does she raid Tomb Raider? Extremely oversized breasts. I mean, like classic video game character where it's like, this is for boys. If you think neon isn't going to be the most top-heavy-looking avatar, men are garbage.
Starting point is 00:37:44 And neon avatars look normal. Barb Croft was like Barbie style dimensions the original Lara Croft anyhow. I mean it literally is absurd but go ahead. There's just a lot of Sony film coming from that like you that like you X like slide keyboard you NPC what are you talking about all the Sony tech. Oh yeah like the Sony tech of like 2001. Yes, I would have sat with Vio. When it was good, yes, Vio.
Starting point is 00:38:09 Yeah, Vio's were great. But like all of Sony, I mean, a lot of Sony shit is like, I love Sony, but like a lot of their tech is like, looks cool and not that great, like works poorly. Like the experience phones look awesome. Here's an example. But they suck. The Vio's look awesome, but they suck.
Starting point is 00:38:24 I spent a lot of money on my Sony a6500 And I took it on that mountain and the I mean their cameras are great No, the Fuji the Fuji XT2 another fucking Sony product is like an awesome man. I've pooped all over by a 6500 I'm just saying like It's a I'm telling you man. Oh, you're saying the Fuji's better than the... Yes, that's what I'm saying. Oh, yeah, dude. No, Fuji's sick.
Starting point is 00:38:48 I took them both out. I took two bodies out. And the Fuji was like, yeah. It's just two bodies after the Denver. One came back. You took two bodies in the desert. Only one came back. All right, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, go, you go. Oh, me? Yeah, you start. I'm going first. Okay, I really liked. There's a toothbrush that Colgate came out with,
Starting point is 00:39:08 which I was laughing about, but I am actually interested in that uses the lights that your dentist used to identify plaque and the brush lights up when you're brushing your teeth and you need to keep brushing. And then the light turns off when you've actually cleaned that area of your mouth. Wow.
Starting point is 00:39:22 And that is really great because it's someone obsessed with dental health. And it's hard to know because you can't really see, you're not a dentist and it's hard to see plaque. But also, one in four Americans have a die of heart attacks. And that and the portable defibrillator called the Elliott from Heart Hero actually seems to be addressing a problem
Starting point is 00:39:43 within society that tech could solve, but nobody, it's not sexy. And to actually help people's oral health and to have defibrillators on hand might actually tackle a problem in America that has gone completely on really addressed for the last 10 years, especially by tech industry. So that's the stuff that I thought was interesting.
Starting point is 00:40:02 There's lots of little things that I think are cool novelties that I'm like, oh, that's interesting. Like those stuff that I thought was interesting. There's lots of little things that I think are cool novelties that I'm like Oh, that's interesting like the those robots that were fighting yesterday. They use a fighting robots. Yeah, there's like battle bots and They I can't think of the game that is how it that doesn't sound that interesting. It was cool They were like little toys you could buy and kids could actually like have like real like like the arms and likes move and they Fight each other like wrestlers. It was interesting But it's a thing that I'm like, okay, that's cool. But what really excites me is that now that tech basically is, I mean,
Starting point is 00:40:29 if you listen to the Samsung press comments, they sounded more like a political speech than it did. Yeah. Like a sales pitch. They were like, what if we had innovation and people could come together and work towards our goals? What if humanity was empowered to go to the next, you're like, okay, are you running for president? Yeah. So if that's the running for tax dollars,
Starting point is 00:40:47 that's what they're trying to do. Yeah, if that's what tech wants to be, I want to see it tackle real life problems, like health issues. Yeah, I mean, there was, there has been some interesting health stuff here. I mean, carrying around the, you know, so carrying around something in the,
Starting point is 00:41:00 in the event that somebody's going to have a hard attack is definitely out there. Well, no, it's small enough to do, it runs on CBS batteries, like it runs on Dwayne Reed batteries. Yeah. in the event that somebody's gonna have a heart attack is definitely out there. Well, no, it's small enough to do, it runs on CBS batteries, like it runs on Dwayne Reed batteries. And you can stick it in your medicine cabinet and not think about it until someone that you know
Starting point is 00:41:13 has a heart attack. And my family has a big history of heart disease. And I have a couple of people in my family that have had heart attacks and to just throw one in a cabinet just in case, and it also instructs you on how to use it. And it's smart enough to know if it's not being used in an emergency situation by like a kid or something.
Starting point is 00:41:29 And even if a kid did use it and your heart's working fine, nothing's gonna happen to you if you accidentally use it a fibrillator on yourself. So I thought this was a very interesting good pitch. Yes, okay, I agree, all right Evan, how about you? Listen, one of the things I came here looking for was maybe some outdoor tech. You know, maybe the weed jar.
Starting point is 00:41:52 The, no, no, see, the weed jar was cool, but it needs to be, it needs to be finished. Like the weed jar, I think the weed jar, I mean, I know you like the weed jar. Let's help people in it. Well, it's a jar that locks. Yeah, it's a lock that goes on a Mason jar. Yeah, yeah. And it's, and you can lock it with an app. The thing is those that like all these Eureka Park, there's a lot of stuff. And you can lock it with an app. The thing is, all these ureca parts, there's a lot of stuff that you can lock
Starting point is 00:42:08 and unlock with an app here. Yeah, I'm like, yeah, yeah, you know, 100%. It's a lot, 100%. So there's a lot of stuff that we'll talk about. It's looking for, like, your phone or your key now. Oh, yeah. So what I found, and I also need to write about this, is an air conditioner that runs on fuel, like gas, any
Starting point is 00:42:26 kind of fuel. And that's like, wow, that sounds environmentally bad. So, here's the thing, you would think that, yes, I would, but for, let me give you an example, so like a semi truck, right? And you're not, it's illegal for you if you're like a truck driver to idle just all day, right? But you have to do that in order to get the air conditioner to run. Right.
Starting point is 00:42:47 So instead of burning gas using an alternator to turn that into electricity and then using that electricity to cool the truck, yeah, you just use the gas. It's about the 1% of the 1%. I mean, this is like, so I'm very, there are a lot of trucks. No, I know, I know, but it's just like, of, but just I'm saying in terms of like the scenario
Starting point is 00:43:05 He just described what percentage of the population are we talking about? Hey, well, let's get there. Oh, here we go. Let's get that. Okay, so Air conditioning uses a lot of electricity true like the climate change is like there's a wave of like the grid is being very stressed During summer like during summer. There's yeah pieces.S. that have gone down this past summer because air conditioning is just like breaking the entire system. Yeah. And it keeps getting hotter for longer. We have infrastructure for gas delivery.
Starting point is 00:43:39 So like, I know it's not very much fun, but our listeners are like, wow, about it here. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, but we can like continue in our death spiral into climate change. Wow. A little bit longer. By using gas air conditioning to lift the load on our aging degenerate grid. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:58 Yeah. It's a little good dark tape for the old gray. When is there an over there? No. Well, we need to sneak red. OK, we there an over there or no? Well, Greta, we need Greta. We need to sneak Greta. OK, we just need Greta. OK, Greta, please help us.
Starting point is 00:44:08 Greta, fix it. I like to help, by the way, I was about to mention a thing that I saw that, wait, do you have other things? Not really, no. OK. Keep it going. So it's interesting that some of the things that we like are the more extreme.
Starting point is 00:44:19 We're going to have a post. I think we have a post on this coming up. One of the things we saw here, Evan, I believe, you're in charge of this post. So I'm looking at you because this, it's not brand new, but they have a new version of a, like a home based version of this thing, which is a collector that collects moisture from the air and turns it into drinking water. Yes. Let me tell you all about that. Yeah, go ahead. Yeah. Yeah. Okay about it. Yeah, absolutely. You know what else does this? Trees.
Starting point is 00:44:46 Yeah, okay. That's true. That's true. Okay. So basically, there's been this technology around for a while. So basically, what it will do is condense water out of the air. And so when I've seen this, and Gears prior to this, they were like giant, like membrane boxes. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:45:02 Like it looks like. Yeah, I've seen them. Right. Like a big, foldy piece of plastic, basically. They're large. Yeah, just like a drop of water. Yeah, I mean, it's like, because you can collect condensation. Right, you can.
Starting point is 00:45:14 So this was the first time I have seen like a industrialized productized version of a, what they call it a hydropanol. Yeah, well, it doesn't just wait for the water, it actually is pulling it out of the air using fans, right? No, actually, it doesn't have any, are you sure? Yes, so what they, Okay, and I totally misunderstood.
Starting point is 00:45:32 No, no, so what they, they have, it's these hydropanels look like a solar panel. Yeah. They have a, they do have a solar panel in the middle, and on the right and left side, there's, you know, it's just this sort of like gray condensation place. Yeah. From what I understand, the solar panel is like used for like the pumps and like moving things around.
Starting point is 00:45:53 It's self-contained. It's self-contained. Right. So it like, poll, it uses solar to function. Yeah. And then it provides a clean drinking water. Yes. And they're able to, what they say is they're able to make sure that it's like clean pure water by doing it passively. So like if you think about it, your air conditioner is condenser, right? Like the, the, your drip of air conditioner water
Starting point is 00:46:17 that is literally condensating out of the air. Right. So theoretically, you are like making water out of air. It's pulling moisture off off of the, it's like, yeah, there's a cold piece on it. There's a cold piece on it and water comes off. Yeah, no, so that's, so I think that was really cool. Um, uh, packs the vape maker intro this thing called the, uh, aeropro or it's a new version of the aeropro. Do you have one?
Starting point is 00:46:39 That's the old version. Nope, this is the new one. I think my pocket fresh from a Vegas dispenser. Uh, okay. So that is the one that has like the smart, so these have like smart like weed pods. They are smart weed pods that tell you about the strain. And there's an app and it'll tell you like the strain,
Starting point is 00:46:54 like the amount of THC, like the, I'll give it to you to play with it right now. The flavor makeup, it's really, it's really fucking cool but also like I think as, I mean, by the way, I'd like to see this for more than just, I'd like to see this for, for regular like nicotine vapes as well, like just so you understand a little bit, like it's a cool idea to understand exactly what you're putting in your body or as much as you possibly can. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:14 Like also like when it comes to weed, like, which is a substance that different strains of it have different effects, like also vapes are harder to know exactly how. Right. And there's been this whole controversy. I mean, people have been dying because they're getting these like ratty shitty like homemade version of the of of like we yeah. So there's a couple different things like with packs. It's at least you know where the pods are coming from right. There's not really many other reputable mass market brands out there. Well not yet because it's not national. I mean I mean it's hard to do. It's hard to do. At any rate, I would like for a nicotine,
Starting point is 00:47:47 for a nicotine vape to be like, here's the amount of nicotine I want to put into my body in a day. And it's up to you to regulate that vape. I'm sure the, what else, what if I'm sorry? Have I seen here that I, oh, you tried, Ryan tried this VR thing, which was a very rough, was a very rough, oh, he's handing me the packs weed
Starting point is 00:48:05 thing right now. This is very cool. Did they tell you that they have an Android app, but not an iOS app? That is insane. And I've never heard of that happen. Well, wait, as a past row, I see this on your Android front. Okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:19 Oh, this is so interesting. Did you side-load it? No, no, this is on a pixel. This is Android. No, no, but did you side-load it? No, no, no, it's not a pixel. It's a hand. I know, but did you side-load it? Oh, no, it's in their Google store. Okay, so the Google store is like,
Starting point is 00:48:29 I'm perfectly happy to let you do whatever you want. Well, it doesn't give a shit, man. Apple is like, I don't know about this legalized weed movement. Ah, no, it's very cool. So Ryan tried a, and we have video of it, which doesn't really do adjust us because like, you have to be inside the experience. But these patches, this company,
Starting point is 00:48:47 it's basically like in, it's called Thermo Real. Yeah, Thermo Real. It's basically in beta form right now, but you can imagine a more advanced version of it that's part of a VR suit that produces hot and cold sensations on your skin. This is cool.
Starting point is 00:49:01 Ryan was like, I mean, I didn't try it, but he didn't, he said it was very convincing. I put it on and I was fully ready to laugh at these people because I was like, I mean, I didn't try it, but he didn't. He said it was very convincing. I put it on and I was fully ready to laugh at these people because I was like, who gives a shit if you're warm in VR. Right. And then I picked up a fireball and I was like, hot, this is fucking hot.
Starting point is 00:49:15 And then they like, it's snowing. You pick up a snowball and like, throw this, put the snow over your head or whatever. It drips down your arms and you really feel cold. That's cool. And when you get hit with a fireball in like the VR game, you feel fire where it hit. It's very, very convincing. And I was concerned that it was like using nitrogen cooling or something that could go deeply wrong. Like you either run out of fuel or it breaks and freezes and you have frostbite.
Starting point is 00:49:38 Right. Right. But no, what they're doing is they have actual thermal electric. Yeah, the path, the panel's for heat are creating heat and then venting it out. The cold is doing like electric conductive skin sensations. Yeah, yeah, I love the skin sensation. It's really cool. I want a whole suit of it to wear in the subway. No, yes, but no, but this is, but I do think like,
Starting point is 00:49:58 I do think it's like a magic when VR gets advanced enough and we've got like, you know, we've seen these like hands, like these gloves you can wear that are like, you wear the feet of a neon on your skin. I want, I want to, when you're in the loving embrace of a neon, you love to a neon, I want to feel their body against mine. That's right. I want to, I want to feel, and I want their body to be freezing cold. Well, truly, I was going to say like, what really funny is we're like, real net graph. Right. We're like, no, it's so funny. We're like, oh, we created a virtual human.
Starting point is 00:50:26 And you're like, yes, but it should be warm. It's like, why? Why? It doesn't have to be. They can sit around upside down, give it extra hands. Who cares? Yeah, it's like, it would be cool. One of the things I was hoping with Neon
Starting point is 00:50:38 is that they would do something really like strange. They would like more for mutate or whatever. No, because they could have now didn't do that. No, they put on fabletics. You're some land around like Kronenberg, like Body Horror with the Rions, that would be fantastic. So like, I mean, yeah, I'm trying to think of other things. I mean, those are the, I mean, I really,
Starting point is 00:50:57 the vape thing I thought really stood out. I feel like there's like a quid the announcement today that I could give a fuck about. It's like, it's like you can turn, I'm sorry, listen, I, they get pressed for literally no reason. Well, they're the press because it's run by Meg Whitman and Jeffrey Katzenberg and they have a billion dollars in investment. Yeah, they're doing, and they're doing partnerships, media partnerships. They're real, but I get everywhere, I know. But like, their whole innovation is like, we have an app that you, what if YouTube, but no, but only some people can read it. I get it everywhere. But like, their whole innovation is like, we have an app that you...
Starting point is 00:51:26 What if YouTube, but only some people can read it? No, you watch it, but you can also turn your phone. It's like, you watch it vertically, then you can turn your phone, you can still watch it. And it's like, yeah. Snapchat did that was verticals. They want to be the riot to YouTube's tender. I just don't think it's...
Starting point is 00:51:41 Yeah, I mean, maybe. I guess that's one way to look at it. That's one way, that's one like class system way to look cast system to look at it. A lot of what I've seen at this show has been like, has been like, do you have a bunch of money? You don't have to deal with the problems regular people have to do.
Starting point is 00:51:55 I just thought I just have two more things. I see this looks so great. The band vibrator, the band vibrator, the band, a Laura, what is it called? Laura D, fuck why am I, what is it called Laura D? Fuck why am I blanking on it right now? I wrote about it and I know that. Yeah, you wrote about it.
Starting point is 00:52:09 I'm not googling, I'm searching our site. Vibrator, hold on, love it. Did I spell that wrong? I did. Hold on, vibrate or... He's usually gonna iPad just for the song. I'm using iPad right now. I'm not even, why is it not even,
Starting point is 00:52:23 it's not a vibrator. No, it's a robotic stimulator. Uh, hold on. So it's a neon. Yeah. I hear we go. Laura De Carlo is the name of the company, which is not a person's name or it is. Laura De Carlo sounds like a person's name.
Starting point is 00:52:37 It's a neon. But so they, so they brought the, they brought the band vibrator, which is called the osay. Yep. And then they have two new ones, which one is like a, one of the G-spot stimulator. So basically here's what's up to the Ose is a combination G-spot massager.
Starting point is 00:52:52 Yeah. And it's really wild. Platoral stimulator. Yeah. So it will, yeah. Yeah. It'll do both things at the same time. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:00 And so now they have a, a, on, on, on, on, on, on, on bundle, on the, on, bundle, this robot. Yeah. So they have, now you can just get the G-spot stimulator or just the quattrole stimulator and it's cheaper. I should say by the way, these, the wheat stuff and the, and the vibrators are things that and also Cheyenne went and built, there's a company called Crave that makes all these like really kind of beautiful, weird new vibrators. Yeah. And she went and did a lot of like saber maker of
Starting point is 00:53:24 vibrator. It looks like what if a vibrator was designed by the production design team of Kruehl and Tensions? Yeah, it's like a necklace and it's made of metal and it wants you. Yeah, so they have a bunch of new stuff here and some new wearable things. And it's actually really cool looking. And of course, both of these things, both sex toys
Starting point is 00:53:42 and weed is something that the C-E-A doesn't really want to be associated with and doesn't want to. They're like, Apple, they're like, I don't know. They're like, no, and they're like, you think about it as far as fat shaming you. And then other than that, like, you do not want to put the pain. It goes back to, it goes back to this big of business to business thing. They're like, this is very freaky for the white men who go here. What is, it's interesting to, like, wear things that are concerned with relaxation and pleasure don't aren't allowed to have like, the space of things that are concerned with relaxation and pleasure don't aren't allowed to have like the space of things that are concerned with like working out and
Starting point is 00:54:09 optimizing and getting better and feeling good. That's real stuff. Right. Right. Right. So I think it's I think it's interesting, but it's also I think it's a sign of the shifting of the shifting world of technology that technology is getting closer and closer and closer to everything that we do. Yes. And it's so hard. And that whole thing we were talking about at the beginning, maybe this is a nice way to circle back to our initial conversation, is that, you know, the closer it gets, the more integrated it gets, and the more invisible it gets, the less it's special, right? And the more it is just the way things are.
Starting point is 00:54:45 And so like there is, I think we are in this place with CES where we haven't quite lost the idea that it is special, but we haven't quite, and we haven't quite integrated it enough either, right? So it's like, it's a little bit special, but kind of not that much, but it's not like, now it's not mundane enough that like, we don't have to talk about it.
Starting point is 00:55:06 We still have to talk about it, but it really isn't that great. It's like AK. AK is like, yeah, it is a cool new iteration of TVs, but it's really not like going from SD to HD. It's an incremental change and it's just gonna be in everything and so it won't really matter.
Starting point is 00:55:21 It's like technology will be in your fucking vibrator and in your weed tape, your weed pan or whatever. And at some point you will not be worth talking about because that will be how everything is. It will be in like a table. You know, it'll be like, oh, the table is like aware of the room it's in and it'll like, I don't know what the fucking table is going to do, but like it'll charge all your devices. That would be great. Right. it will decide when you're done with dinner. Please, actually, get up. I'm like, please stop sitting at me. Can I be dismissed?
Starting point is 00:55:50 Your share will collapse when it wants you to eat to the store. Hey, Tommy. Everything in your house sounds bad, James. Oh my god. Literally, it's like, oh my god. Your chair's like, you're too heavy for this meal. The table's like, don't eat those rolls. Meanwhile, your TV's like, sit at me, not with this snack.
Starting point is 00:56:07 It's really good. Oh, you wanna watch AK? You have to pedal this bike home. You can only watch workout videos actually. There's actually a Phil Kiddick book. I think it's Ubeck, I could be wrong. Where everything is like, every object is like an AI,
Starting point is 00:56:25 has like an AI in personality. He's like, and everything costs his money. I'm like, I'm pissed, I'm horror. No, and everything costs money. And it's like, he's like, like the main character's like, I wanted to make toast, and it's like, but the toaster was 50 cents to put a piece to a slice of bread in, and so I couldn't have it.
Starting point is 00:56:37 It's like, it's kind of like my- My attention, yeah, it was like, seriously, it's like that. I've got, that's not being in a hotel. It turns out, it turns out if you do enough speed, you know, you can actually see the future. You can, as I've said, as I've been saying, most of this trip, you do enough speed. You touch the face of God and God finds you wanting. Yes. God's like, please stop touching me. Anyhow, so here's something here's something.
Starting point is 00:56:59 Yeah, lay it on me. As the guides editor, yeah, we brought a lot of gear here to see. Yes. Yeah. What was some gear that you fuck with? Now you literally fuck stuff that we brought. Yeah, well, I'll tell you what I'll tell you what is such a phenomenal I mean if this is less interesting everybody knows this it to some extent But it's less interesting to to everyone else but more interesting to me because this is a hell of a nightmare We used to come and bring I mean this has obviously been an evolutionary thing We used to come and bring, I mean, this has obviously been an evolutionary thing.
Starting point is 00:57:25 We used to come and bring, and we brought a bunch of gear, cameras and whatever, super fucking long lenses. But like for most of the things we do from a photography perspective, iPhone, good Android cameras are like indistinguishable from what you would normally be using. Yes. As like a DSLR or medium format or whatever,
Starting point is 00:57:44 I mean, I thought we were using the informath, but like listen, so, so that's interesting. I mean, we brought moment lenses and moment cases. Yeah, people are, and the cool thing is is that our, it's fucking great. Yeah, our website is insane and you should go visit it. And what's insane about it is that we can get this very good video out of a phone using just the phone
Starting point is 00:58:04 or the moment. Yeah, it's got like the depth. It looks cool as hell. It's got the depth and everything. Yeah, it looks really fucking sharp. Zach Goldstein, who's one of our old buddies who's here with us doing video, has been using phone for stuff.
Starting point is 00:58:17 And I'm like, listen, I've been talking to him. And he's like, I kind of feel bad because like the whole deal with being a video producer is you lug a giant pelican case full of shit everywhere. You're supposed to have the rig out. Yeah, it's all right. So he's running around and he's making incredible video with just the phone and he's like,
Starting point is 00:58:30 I feel weird. Yeah, and no, I mean, honestly, it's actually pretty incredible that, you know, to see what we're getting out of like, phones right now just in terms of photography. I will say with the iPhone 11, I'm a big Android stand for the people that don't know. Yes, love Android.
Starting point is 00:58:48 I hate it. I hate it. You're a stand right. I love Android too. I think iOS or the iPhone 11 iPad guy now. Yeah. Ray is just using his, he's just, he is, he is a iPhone video maximum.
Starting point is 00:59:00 He's making, he's making you want an iPhone. He is. Yeah, he is. It's good. So here's the thing. I had a pixel three, three XL. And I was like, this camera and I would take pictures of people who had iPhones. Yes. Would be like, what did you take this with? Yeah. And I was like, yeah, my pixel. And like, I mean, people who are hardcore iOS people who weren't were never like normal people who would never even consider an Android phone were like, oh my God, that's amazing. Like maybe I need to switch to this phone.
Starting point is 00:59:26 Then I feel like the new iPhones kind of leveled the plane field a bit in terms of quality. Like yes, there are differences, but now there's so much more minor. So photos, I would say they definitely caught up, but when you switch it over into video, oh yeah, the iPhone's crush, ugly, it's a smokshow.
Starting point is 00:59:43 It's an ugly difference. Yeah, if I ever catch your video like file sizes. So if you're it's already for the stabilization and the better. The software. No, but I mean just from a basic standpoint, it's like they don't even have the basic switching switch between lenses is better. A controversy with the Pixel 3 was that the microphones were all shit.
Starting point is 01:00:00 Yeah. No, I mean, it's like I'm sorry to say in listen, I mean, I had to switch to iOS just for family reasons because my family hated me And I wanted to do something nice for my wife and daughter But but but no, but like for real like It not only is is the new iPhone incredibly good for photography and when you actually like moment lenses Which gives it that like like it's like the the the the zoom lens on the iPhone is good But the the moment, yeah,
Starting point is 01:00:26 I will just say I love moment. I do wish there were more competitors that made lenses. Yeah, by the way, all the clip is the worst. All the clip, please. Wow. Rude. There goes our all like clip sponsor. Listen, I got all the clips at the balesher for a comparison I was doing and they're so bad at it. Even right about them. Damn. Like it was it was it's it was literally there on notice. They're on fucking notice. Um, but but yes, so I think that's really interesting. I mean, I'll say even write about them. Damn. Like, it was, it was, it was literally. They're on notice, they're on fucking notice. But, but yes, I think that's really interesting. I mean, I'll say, I'll say this, connectivity. Still a fucking nightmare.
Starting point is 01:00:52 Oh, the worst. I will say this like five G, five G, five G. I was fried in five G's press conference. The five G people, you can't bring that shit on fast enough and you'd better be better than the fucking penetration we get with 4G. Like you got to figure this out with LTE because like there are so many places where it's like congestion. It's like fucking poor band about poor connectivity.
Starting point is 01:01:13 It's like the bandwidth is just totally get fresh. I had been in situations like during the neon thing. I had multiple devices. Could not fucking get online. Could not get my shit done. It was like to to so we brought AT&T Nighthawks. That's how I can love the Nighthawks. Well listen, I know a lot about the Nighthawks.
Starting point is 01:01:33 So just for some perspective here, the Nighthawks is the nicest hotspot you can buy. There's not like, there's not gonna be a way. There's not gonna be a way. Who makes the Nighthawks? It's NetGear. Okay. Well, that makes sense.
Starting point is 01:01:45 Well, here's, I mean, IHawk fighter of the day. IHawk, IHawk. So it has, it has MIMO. It has, let's get MIMO. Quad. What the fuck is MIMO? Carrier aggregation. Sorry, I'm sorry.
Starting point is 01:01:58 What is MIMO? Multi and multi out. Oh, yeah, yeah. Carrier for X. Carrier aggregation. My technology out of there. And even, all I'm saying is even this can't deal with what we have. It's been better than a lot of other shit.
Starting point is 01:02:12 That's true. Yeah. Did I talk to him in our savior because, frankly, Verizon's hotspots don't even activate. Like, I've been, I've just trying to use the like, hey, we've got free Wi-Fi in the media room thing is like you open your computer and like Neon comes at you and laughs, which is just, ha!
Starting point is 01:02:29 But what did it delete your work? But one thing that did happen at the show in this week is that I was just like, I have resisted, I've always buy a new generation iPad and I'm like very unhappy. I was like, you know what, I'm going to see us, I need something that could be a backup. I bought the new iPad Pro kind of like,
Starting point is 01:02:49 I'm like, well, I might actually return this if I fucking hate it. But our CMS, the CMS that we have, that we now have for input, which is a hybrid of the Bustle CMS, which is called Type Set and the stuff that we were doing at the outline with cards and other things. It's the first CMS that I've ever used that works on phones and tablets.
Starting point is 01:03:08 It really works. I was going to shout out the engineers at BDG for building a fucking CMS that functions really well, surprisingly well. You still a little awkward because you're dealing with a lot of information in a small screen. But you could on my iPad, it's still a little awkward because you're dealing with a lot of information, the small screen, but like you could, on my iPad, like it's really pretty fucking good. Basically all the posts I wrote on day one were done for my phone, because my computer died
Starting point is 01:03:31 and there was no power. That's why I was, I have, you know, affixed it all of your annoying it's auto corrects where it's like the wrong it's, and I'm like, please just tell your phone to stop doing this, but you can't, you basically can't, you can't. At any rate, but yeah, so, so, so that was one of the things. I think, I mean, this goes along with everything of course
Starting point is 01:03:46 We've miniaturized so much of our operation. Yeah, it's so much easier now to go and yeah The best the best stuff is at CS is the stuff that we brought Starship it's us it's the humans really who makes yes, I'll say this human been human Yeah, exactly. I'll say this. There's some fun stuff out there. We're gonna go get more stuff. It's like an endurance challenge. Yeah. I mean, there's cool stuff. There's like a giant.
Starting point is 01:04:09 There's like this giant arcade thing. I will also say there's tons of weird stuff that we haven't even touched on on input mag.com. And you can go see our spicy takes about it. But there's some really cool interesting stuff that we probably won't have time to discuss because we're already kind of over done with this episode. But how far in and how far in this episode are we?
Starting point is 01:04:24 We're like an hour in. Oh my God. What? We only talked about one or three. because we're already kind of done with this episode. But how far in this episode are we? We're like an hour in. Oh my God. We have talked about one or three. We've been talking about Trump. Oh, by the way, yeah, technology's not going to get any more advance than it is today,
Starting point is 01:04:34 because we'll all be dead. Trump, like, you never know. You're a very stupid. You're a very stupid. You're a very stupid. You're a very stupid. You're a very stupid.
Starting point is 01:04:42 You're a very stupid. You're a very stupid. You're a very stupid. You're a very stupid. You're a very stupid. You're a very stupid. You're a very stupid. at CES right in the middle of it, they'd be like, we're having an event in one week, and they would be like, oh, wow, that's all that anybody cares about at CES now. Trump was like, we are having an event. We're having an event in one week. It's called Global Thermonuclear War.
Starting point is 01:04:57 I don't know whose voice that is, it's not Trump's. Please send your representatives from your media outlets. I will say, I will talk about it too much. I will say like, fuck war and fuck a war with Iran. And fuck bring me a vanka trunk to CES. And fuck a vanka who is that? Who is that? Who is that?
Starting point is 01:05:12 Fuck a vanka trunk who is boring as shit from what I understand. And idiot. Unsurprisingly, also Gary Shapiro, fuck you. Fuck you. For not asking good questions. Oh, great. We're never going to be invited back to CES. Well, that's how it is.
Starting point is 01:05:22 That's just how it is, folks. Yeah, well, maybe, maybe if they do a CES where they don't invite in Bacca Trump will be really nice. Hey, wait, according to the New York Times, Trump is back in a way from further conflict with Iran, which is great. That seems great. Please do show, there's gonna be a lot more great gadgets and do-dads and bits and bobs. I guess I'll go look at that holographic display. You should definitely go look at the holographic display. The point is we're gonna be covering more stuff. There's a ton of stuff on input right now.
Starting point is 01:05:57 We have a great, some great editorials. Oh, it would be the great story. I should also say, separate from all the stuff going on at CES. We're also running stories that are not about CES. We did great thing. Go up today. There's just a fun little thing about this artist who does these these Photometry pictures of Tokyo that are like these crazy flythroughs based on still images. They're super awesome But also we had this great piece from Chris Dopo Walker a day or two ago. Was it yesterday? Yes, my god, my brain is fried about how last week about something that I'd happen the same day. Yeah, no, no, no.
Starting point is 01:06:30 We have a great piece from Chris Doko Walker who writes about social media and YouTube, who wrote this thing about how Instagram like a new way to get like really big on Instagram. It's to make though what Disney are you character, the what Pokemon are you. I just saw one like I just saw Jeff Ehaza from at Mike. Yeah, just just had did one where it's like what Pokemon are you. I just saw one like I just saw Jeff Ehaza from at Mike. Yeah. Just did one where it's like what candidate are you? Yeah. And it's like it's like yeah. Like and these people are getting huge. He wrote this great piece about like the kind of nuts and bolts of that stuff, which is really good. We have this piece today about AKTV, which I think is really smart. Everybody should read and get mad about or be happy about Ray and I. We may never
Starting point is 01:07:01 recover from our disagreement. Although like in the long run, Ray and I are agreeing, he's like, it's gotta happen, it's gonna happen. I'm like, yeah, it is. It's just like, he's, I'm like, the writer's like, don't get one now because it would be dumb. Yeah, don't go out and pay extra money. Yeah, I was like, are you gonna get one?
Starting point is 01:07:14 He's like, fuck no. I'm like, they're, my rest my case. I was like, I rest my fucking case. Anyway, our site rips. Our site rips is a lot of cool shit. And by the way, listen, we are, this is a input is a work in progress. If you Tony have thoughts about what we're doing,
Starting point is 01:07:29 what you love, what you hate, what's cool, what isn't, what you'd like to see, like things that you feel like people are ignoring, like I wanna know, I wanna hear about it. I'm at input, at Josh, at me, at the end of the day. The next thing is we're gonna add like some sick community tools and it's gonna be like the New York Times cooking comments, people are gonna be like,
Starting point is 01:07:44 I love this, but what I do is I add this GPU to it. Yeah, exactly. I mean, have you read the cooking comments? The outline did a really good piece on them. No. It's like, it's like mom's apple pie and it's like, I do this, but I add a little bit of salt right at the end and people are like, I love that. Sometimes I'll drizzle honey on it.
Starting point is 01:07:58 It's like the nicest, calmest, most chill and helpful. So, comment section anywhere in the world. That's what our community is going to be like so if you Have been on a trip if you're out there and you're listening and you've been on a trip Yeah, if you've been traveling and you took some really cool shit with you. Yeah Maybe some maybe it's a gadget, but maybe it's also some like very cool like outer Are you doing a plea for 50 trips right now? Maybe
Starting point is 01:08:19 You could eat a lot of it. Well, you were doing this series. Email Evan. Yeah. If you haven't taken a great rest at input mag.com. Yes. You've got thoughts and feelings on outerwear, gadgets. Yeah. I like this. Anyhow, it's cool. It's easy to eat. We launched a website.
Starting point is 01:08:35 It's pretty fucking cool. I'm pretty excited about it. It's not your average technology website. You let me in the first week, right? We're not a writer to the Gizmondo, which is the most disgusting failed piece of tech that got people murdered. And I loved it. And I got to write that. So yeah, it's a good website. No, it's
Starting point is 01:08:52 good. It's a good website. It's a new website. We've wanted to business for like three weeks. Yeah, it's like, and it's already on fire. It's actually on fire right now. We need to go and get a fire extinguisher and put it out. But anyhow, so so look, we should wrap up. We got to go out and get the fucking holographic TV. That's right. And there's a lot. But we'll be back from CES with more of this. Yeah, we'll do another. We'll do it at least. We're at least one more this week. Yeah. Right, Ryan? Yeah. You promise? It's happening.
Starting point is 01:09:18 Okay, great. And yeah, that's it. Let's go. I want to, I want to get my, I want to vape some weed on my packs and get one of those vibrators. Get in that segway. Get yourself a little harder. I want to get my, I want to get my packs. I want to get the vibrator going, get into a segway and ride over to the holographic display. That's a lot of.
Starting point is 01:09:39 Hopefully there's a neon on that screen and it can reach out and touch you. No, I'll put some VR goggles on with a neon inside. And the remote real all over my genitals. I don't think I've ever hit the vape with the vibrator in. But there's always time, right? What? I've never hit the vape while I had a vibrator in, but there's no time. I mean, it's definitely time. I love it. It's biggest baby. By the way, I should say we're recording this in the middle of the day
Starting point is 01:10:00 totally sober. So the next one is going to be way better. Yeah, next one will be ripping. Yeah. Alright, bye. Bye. Well, that is our show for this week. We'll be back this week with more tomorrow and CES news. But for now, I wish you and your family the very best, though I've just been informed that your family is actually a set of Neons and the demo is not working.
