A pub in Sydney has gone viral for having to pay for something that should be free.
They have added a cost.
No.
Hi, this is Billy Rose Turner from Scanabot in Denmark.
Hi, I'm Sebastian from Bichagher, the Netherlands.
Hi, I'm Shay from Adelaide, Australia.
I approve this podcast.
Welcome to the Tony and Ryan podcast.
My name is Ryan.
This is Dr. Author, Bestselling Dr. Author Tony Lodge.
Happy hump day slots.
One in three Gen Zs have never done a poo at work.
Oh.
Works to patient is the term.
It's caused by stress around timings,
lack of privacy, bad smells and poor cleaning.
One Gen Z in this article at Business Insider.
One in three, sorry, did you just say?
Yeah.
Shit.
One Gen Z.
No.
No shit.
No shit.
One Gen Z said,
in the article, Business Insider, very important.
Business Insider, hardly know what.
The stress of holding it all day is not as bad as the stress at going at work.
Oh, yeah, okay.
Wouldn't it be nice, Gen Z?
You know where I shit?
Wherever I am.
I mean, that's not Gen C's fault.
Because when I find out, I've got about seven minutes.
That's not Gen Z's fault, though, is it?
Well, it must be nice, Gen Z.
No, but that's not Gen Z fault.
Oh, I get to choose when I go.
No. I can't imagine, like...
What'd you call me?
I just, it would be really annoying to feel like nervous to poo in certain places.
Like that would be really shitty again, sorry.
But like, everybody poos.
They do.
And like, when you go to the toilet, oh, I'm sorry, it smells a bit.
Like, well, yeah, it's a toilet.
What do you think I was doing in there?
Like we know what's going on.
And it's fine.
What's going on when you're going there?
Well, like, if you're doing a wee or you're doing a poo or like, do you know what I mean?
It's really okay.
Yeah.
And they just need to grow up.
But like, yeah, is it also something that you're more sensitive to when you're younger and then when you grow up?
You're like, it's actually fine.
I actually don't give a fuck.
Yeah.
But like when you first started a job, you're like, oh, I don't want to, you know.
boat. And when you're young too, you're like more embarrassed about more stuff. Yeah.
So is it like, Gen Z being captured here, but it's just like younger people? Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. You know? Um, sorry, Gen Z. Yeah. No, and that's it. Do you need the horse photo? Are you
okay? You seem a bit pressed. Are you all right? Is it? Is it because you're wearing lots of clothes?
I'm wearing a hat because I really need a haircut. But you're wearing like a hat and a big jumper and big pants and big socks.
Like, do you feel like press?
Do you want me to take some clothes off?
I mean, I would never sign another.
Would you like me to take some closer?
No, like, do it.
If I had to lose an item, what would you choose that I lost?
What's covering your penis?
A significant mound of pubic hair.
Well, you did say you need haircuts.
Yeah, isn't the barber in for a treat later on today?
Yeah, two for one, mate.
Short back inside, thanks.
And for the head, I'll get down.
I just...
I just like it a bit long on the top.
But then, yeah, for the head, though, I'm thinking.
I'll go to fade.
Yeah.
You're like a flat top.
A box cut, as they say.
Well, maybe I can learn something here.
Tarpers have shared ways that they keep calm.
This is going to be interesting because Tarpers, they really do have some good advice.
Yeah.
They'll treat you right.
Alma Lynn
Sorry
That's her name
Alma
Yeah
Lynn
Alma Lin
Yeah
One name
No there's a space bar
In between
I don't know if that's a
I'd say it's like an Anne-Marie
I'd say no because that's normally a hyphen
Oh okay
You said there's a space
Yeah
Alma I guess
Hardly know what
When my anxiety is high and I can't sleep
I watch scary things caught on camera on YouTube
After two or three
I fall right asleep.
So she just types into the search bar,
caught on camera and looks for something scary.
That is the opposite of what would calm me down.
Well, it's kind of like you get your scares out.
Then you like, you turn it off and you go,
that's putting scares in.
It putting things in your mind.
I can't, if I watch a scary movie,
I have to watch something like real PG after.
Yeah.
Like if I, like, Torbs and I watched back rooms the other week.
You know, that new.
I've heard it.
Is it good?
It's like an A-24.
There are really scary bits in it, yeah.
Like real jump scare bits where I was like fucking, yeah.
Because it's creepy.
The movie I didn't think was that good, but there's really scary bits in it.
But yeah, like, after watching that, I was like, oh, we need to watch a couple episodes of Real Housewives.
Like, I need to calm down.
Yeah.
So to flush that out with some trash.
Yes.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Or like an episode of Bob's Burgess or something that's like very PG.
Well, Tracy Hawkins, she said I watch body cam videos of people being.
stupid and getting arrested.
So hang on, is this when you're anxious or trying to sleep or it was just almas that was
trying to, yeah.
Yeah.
So then try.
Keep you calm.
That feels like that's going to feel me with adrenaline.
It makes me feel.
Okay.
Maybe.
Okay.
Here we go.
Trice.
It makes me feel better about my life and that there can be justice in this world.
10 out of 10 recommend because their body cam of them getting caught.
Sure.
For sure.
There's two more crazies off the streets.
Off to bed.
Do you reckon if you were feeling anxious, you just need a full distraction?
Yeah.
So something that just feels so far out of your reality is probably would be kind of like grounding in a way.
Charlotte Luccarelli.
Save some letters for the rest of us.
I reckon she might know Tonella and Riano.
I reckon she might.
Yeah.
Hashtag sponsored hashtag ad.
I drive down the hot.
This feels like a movie.
I drive down the highway at 3 a.m.
with all the windows down and scream as loud as I can.
Yeah, that's good.
It feels crazy until you've done it.
But once completed, it's like a whole body reset.
Nah, I agree.
A good yell or a good, like, sing in the car for me, like, can change anything.
This might be the only time where it's not possible, which is really going to annoy Charles.
But, Charles, can we get some audio of me screaming?
Yeah, again, it's literally the only time.
We've just had a little techie.
you. Sorry.
Insert here.
What's yours?
When I played volleyball, if I stuffed up, I would just scream.
And once the screaming ended, I was like, I've moved on.
Oh, okay.
It was just like I let it out of my body.
And is it a bit of like a, ugh, or like a proper yell?
One time I screamed fuck really loud and the ref was like, dog.
There it is. Thank you.
They're like, you can't really swear.
And I was like, okay.
And is that like a fuck?
Yeah.
Like that, yeah.
But then it's like it's out.
Yeah, got you.
Instead of like holding onto the, oh.
Yeah.
He's just like, fuck.
Yep, okay, next point.
Amazing.
That makes you feel better.
It does though.
Yeah, it does.
Amelia Moore.
Million more.
Million more.
As a moody teenager, I used to turn off my bedroom lights,
put some candles on and blast the offspring or Lincoln
park while lying on the floor.
We've all been there.
Get it, sister.
Yeah, we've all been there.
Doesn't that really paint a picture as well?
It does.
Yeah, it was a different time.
I'm guessing, oh, she did say candles because I'm imagining a bedroom of a teenager in that
era might have had the lights off, but the lava lamp on.
Or maybe like, um.
Lava lamp was just before my time.
So I guess it, yeah, what, but some kind of lighting that's not the light.
Yeah.
I wanted a lava lamp.
so bad. I wasn't allowed one. I bet you did. Yeah. I couldn't be trusted. My sister had one.
Oh, chemicals, yeah. Yeah, but just like, am I going to leave that on? Like, just forget about it,
leave it on, leave it on, sets the house on fire, you know. And they probably did start some house fires
back in the day. They barely didn't. You know what I mean? All they were doing was taking
houses out. Yeah, like that, their M.O. was, yeah. Did you ever have one?
Do you know what we're talking about? Charles, I love a lab. Oh, it's like.
Dave Parsons had one.
Of course he did.
He's so handsome uncle.
Yeah.
Now, I didn't know this existed and I'm thinking I'm going to make a purchase today.
Monique Johnson, thank you for bringing this to my life.
Monique, show me a big Johnson.
There's a pressure washing simulation game on PS5.
So you get the PlayStation out and you can pressure wash stuff.
And I'm right into pressure washing in the level.
Yeah, yeah.
The videos are fucking good.
Hang on.
Pressure washing simulation game on PS5.
while listening to a dirty story on Audible.
Sure.
Surprisingly relaxing and the smart gets you to forget whatever it is that pissed you off.
That is good.
Can you be angry and horny at the same time?
Is it kind of like sneezing and clicking or whatever that thing is?
Sneezing with your eyes open.
Can't do both at once?
Sneezing and clicking.
I was like, what would stop you from doing both?
Can you be horny and angry?
Oh, hang on.
Charles is showing us the game.
This is some gameplay of it.
So you can choose like.
Oh.
The pressure that you want?
The nozzle.
Oh, oh, that is nice.
Show us more.
Oh.
I mean, should we just clean our houses?
No.
And Bridget suggests.
If you want to do some cleaning, I was like, shut the fuck up.
Though you are, you do like that.
Like, if I was like, oh, yeah, I just want something to do.
You're like, there's heaps to do here.
Oh, and the stones, that pressure washing.
Oh, that fucking.
path is going to get it.
Get that mold off.
Sorry for everybody.
That's only wishning.
Okay.
Can you,
actually,
you definitely can be angry and horny at the same time,
eh?
You know when you just want to bang it out sometimes?
Yeah,
but is that anger or more just like,
passion.
Like frustration in a way that like,
though I guess sometimes like if you're like had a rough day
and you're just feeling like at the end of your rope
and you're like,
I've just got to get one away.
Yeah, just got to smash one out.
I just got to rub one out and like, let it go.
Yeah.
So I guess then you could be.
Shona Bachelor.
Hi, Shona.
One of my friends has been eating fruit in the shower.
Try being sad whilst eating an orange in the shower.
I saw this online recently.
Maybe it went a bit viral a little while ago and it was like,
if you want to really enjoy eating an orange, do it in the shower because it doesn't matter
if you get like sticky and juicy because you'd like in the shower.
Of course.
So all the joy of the orange without the stress of eating the orange.
Yeah.
Of like getting on your clothes or getting your hands and face all sticky or whatever
because you're just like in the shower already.
Which I guess feels like quite like base instincts.
Maybe I should do that with a Zingerberger.
But.
Then I can just really go for it.
Yeah.
Sometimes a bit of lettuce falls out or like a clump of violi.
Yeah.
I mean a Zingerberger doesn't.
doesn't have aiole in it,
but I do think that the thing about an orange
is if it gets wet it doesn't affect the orange.
True.
Whereas like,
if you were in the shower with a singer burger,
like it's going to be pretty disgusting.
The sogiest burger of your life.
Like the bread's just going to like drop away and like...
Everyone checking my Instagram later this afternoon.
Oh, don't.
There's going to be nothing there.
I got a few more.
Cole said,
My dad had pet snakes and when I was in a bad mood,
I let the non-asshole snake wrap itself around my arm.
It squeezes the anxiety and tension right out.
That's a big no from me.
I'm not, that's not for me, but sleigh.
Julie, I watch the glue harden on the palm of my hand then peel it off.
That is satisfying.
I don't know that I would ever do it to stop anxiety, but it's a good idea.
Sometimes the simplest things bring the most joy.
And finally, Sarah Hens.
Hi, Sarah.
I would usually say going through the drive-through car wash,
but I feel like that's been well and truly covered on this podcast.
You know what, but know your areas.
Yeah, and sometimes you just got to be reminded.
Yes, you do.
I'm stressed and I've got $12.
Yeah.
And I live within seven minutes of a BP that has three entrances.
What am I going to do?
What else could you do?
You know what?
I'm already there.
Get $16 and get yourself a golden gay time before you drive.
Yeah, really treat yourself.
Hi, I'm Shay from Adelaide, Australia.
Hi, this is Billy.
Hi, I'm Slovstein from Beecher, the Netherlands.
And you're listening to Tony and Ryan.
Well, we're releasing our anxiety here over at the Tony and Ryan podcast.
Just the thought of a car wash does it for me.
Do you know what?
Like, okay, close your eyes.
I'm going to do car wash simulator.
Okay.
Ready?
Mm-hmm.
Oh,
who!
Oh!
Oh.
Oh.
Oh.
This is the little flappies.
Oh.
Oh.
This is very nice ASM-R.
Mm.
Done.
Was that relaxing?
It actually was.
I feel a little bit lightheaded trying to do.
You did a lot there.
You did the most.
trying to do the drying at the end.
Because you know how it's like the big blow dryer?
Usually they use machines, not just one person going,
yeah, you wouldn't pay $12 for that, would you?
I'd pay more than $12 to have you blowing me.
Don't worry about that.
That's really nice.
Yeah.
That's how I get my anxiety out.
I just suck you off.
And I'm anxious a lot.
I'd suck guys off at the servo.
For $12.
Yeah.
I pay them.
Thank you very much for much of our champion time.
over at our Patreon.
Well, as they say,
if you find a job you love,
you never work a day in your life.
Yeah, and if she's blowing,
I'm going.
Which server?
It's Plenty Road, Bundura.
Yeah, I'll be there.
You'll see.
You can't miss it.
That fat, sluts blown again.
Prize for that, actually.
I'm asking shout out to a few of our Jamie and Tapas.
Over at our Patreon.
Sarah, good on you, Sarah.
Ashley Gildenh Hughes.
Thank you so much, Ash.
Lin Yang.
Thanks, Lynn.
in Georgia, Noah Hubbard, she lived in a cupboard, Tara, good on in Tara, Rachel Mohan,
Anya McMahon, Rachel Mohan.
They're not the same person.
That's crazy.
And good for them.
May, good on you, mate.
It's going to be, mate.
Oh, there are you.
Almost through your neck out there.
Yeah, my neck literally almost snapped off.
And Daniela Farrow.
Thank you very much for being part of our Patreon.
Thank you very much.
I've got a clue here for where in the world is Tony and Ryan's
fifth birthday party.
It is this Sunday in the local time in the city where it is and the rest of the time zone
included.
Yes.
It is a paint and sip party where we're painting.
And sipping.
Yep.
You'll get your free Tony and Ryan apron.
The tickets are free.
We're doing a podcast recording afterwards, but you do need to get a ticket to that reserve
your spot.
Yeah.
Because the spots are limited.
Yeah.
Now, should I go through the previous clues or do that?
Yeah.
All right.
Oh, unless we want the downloads on the other episodes, you know.
Oh, no.
Hubbard brother out.
Clue one.
And keep in mind,
the first time we did this was London
and the second time was Vancouver.
So it really can be anywhere.
The city where the Tony and Ryan podcast turns five
is the city where green gardens always seem to thrive.
If your flag has read,
you guessed it right,
arrive from Melbourne on a direct flight.
So that was our first clue?
Yep.
Clue number two was she wrote me 12 letters.
Yeah, she fucking.
Yeah, she did.
Now, clue three.
Here we go.
Living on the south in the city of churches.
Okay.
Living on the south in the city of churches.
So if you want to come and meet us at our fifth birthday party and celebrate with us, we've got a cake.
There's going to be some food, definitely.
We have confirmed that now, but we're just ironing out the.
Kings, all good.
We're going to figure that out.
Yep.
But you'll be able to come and hang out with us.
You just have to find us.
So it's a pretty good deal.
This Sunday.
Tomorrow, our Thursday, we'll post a link for the tickets.
In whose time?
Our local Tony and Ryan time.
But are we there?
Tony and Ryan time.
But are we there?
Where are we?
Because aren't we getting ready for the party?
It's going to be posted at 4pm Melbourne time.
where we will still be
not relevant to our location
will we still be here then
we'll have had to leave before that
to get there don't know here
sorry do the ladies
at the first class lounge have to sign an
NDA because if they see Charles wander in
they're going to know that we're just
flying off somewhere and they kind of go
oh okay what flight's going soon
yeah
so if you see Charles in the airport
We don't see him
Keep it
Keep it on
No no no
We'll see him on my other side
When we arrive
Yeah
See the baggage carousel Charles
Yeah
Because we're flying privates
I
Um
I
This is
It's been a couple of weeks
But I've got a hot take
Do you need to
I'm taken
I've got it
I don't want the stick Charles
Really
I hate the stick
Why
What are you gonna
Swipe at the end
Oh yeah
Okay
No it is a problem
How are you gonna scorch me
Without a
Scorge. No, so true.
Without a match stick.
Without a match stick.
Boop.
Hey, oh, everything that this touches, I love.
Boop.
She touched me and I feel loved.
Do you actually?
Yep.
Because I love you heaps and that.
What's with that and that?
Just love your heaps and that.
Yeah.
Boop.
Love you, burk and stocks.
Thank you.
I can't believe we're five.
That is truly crazy.
It's crazy.
When can we drive?
Huh?
At six.
16 and nine months or something.
So 11 and a half years.
Okay.
I'll fly by.
It will.
We're older than Mabel.
Yes.
Yeah.
I mean, not if you're asking at the kids club at the Fiji Hotel and she's seven.
I've now taught her that she's for.
Yeah, good.
Because she's traditionally been a bit of a snitch.
No, she's not a, you can't say snitch.
She's a rule follower.
She's a true.
Aunt Toddy, Aunt Toddy.
But she was like, I dad did it and I was like, shut the fuck up.
Nah, you can't.
Nah, that's just good.
She's got alone.
Oh, where did those pretzels go?
Pretzels yarm.
We've got the best pretzels at the moment.
We bought them for Mabel.
Yeah.
And I'm just like, slaying them.
Do you know what fucks?
A chocolate covered pretzel.
Really?
Yeah.
Because the sweet and salty.
Well, because the pretzel always has like big chunks of salt on it and then the chocolate is so young.
Yeah, that would be good.
Yeah.
That would be good.
Yeah.
So young.
Okay.
I'll let Mabel know.
Yeah, get those next time.
I've got a hot take here.
I've got my stick.
I've got my headband on.
Hot take, Tony, is in session.
Paying for condiments has gotten out of control.
You've been scorched.
So fucking true.
Lay it on me, sis.
If I want a little squeeze of cupy,
a little dash of soy sauce on my sushi,
that might be for free.
We're not sure.
No one's counting.
Sauce with a pie.
come the fuck on.
Yeah.
It should, there needs to be a watchdog involved in paying for condiments.
If you're asking me to be the watchdog, I accept.
I'll be the watch bitch.
Yeah.
And I'll fucking watch it.
Yeah.
So I think, well, I think.
What's tipped you over the line?
I think one of my very first hot takes was that like the cost of tomato sauce should be
worked into the cost of the pie or the sausage rolls.
Yes, yes.
Don't add it on.
True.
But recently, there have been a few scenarios where I have been asked to pay for sauce and you just go, come the fuck on.
But this has sent me right over the edge.
A pub in Sydney has gone va-va-va-viral for having to pay for something that should absolutely be free.
Charles, I'm going to ask you to pop a little photo on here.
They have added a cost to add chicken sauce.
to your food.
$3?
For a member, if you're a non-member,
five.
Is that Henrietta's?
No, it's social house.
Oh, that's the, okay.
Yeah.
So it's this place in Sydney,
and they, like,
there's nothing social about that.
People have gone like,
anti-social house.
I couldn't have said it better myself.
So all of,
how is chicken salt on the same price level
as a tartare or a gravy.
Or a salsa verde.
Like a salsa verde,
that isn't really a sauce.
So I would happily pay,
like if I went and got like salsa and corn chips,
I'd be like, well, I have to pay for the salsa.
Yeah.
I think that's probably fair.
A lot of chopping.
Even having a condiment section of the menu is fucking insane.
Also, $5 for salt for a non-member.
What is that?
Is the chickens you're getting the salt from the fucking Himalayas?
You get to meet the chicken before they make the salt for me.
Do you take the chicken home?
Do you get to eat the chicken as well?
It's a whole roast chicken with some salt on it?
It's salt.
Isn't that so crazy?
And like for comparison, right?
Right underneath it, there's a Tim Tam Sunday,
which is $14 for a non-member.
That is only...
Oh, hang on, guys.
Oh, hang on.
coming in.
That's only $9 more.
No.
That's only $9 more than the chicken salt.
For two chicken salts,
you could almost get a whole fucking other meal.
For two servings of salt.
And so when you go and get fucking,
like I was at sushi train not that long ago with some friends.
And I was like,
oh, could we just get a squeeze of QP?
And they go, yeah, yeah, we'll just add it to the bill.
And I was like, no.
No.
A squeeze a QP.
Who you had sushi train with?
Yeah.
It was when I was in Per.
and I went with Lauren and Aleks and we went to sushi train.
Lauren Alex, my friends and second pet.
So isn't that so...
Why are you just perusing menus of Sydney chicken houses?
No, no, no.
Like, we're in viral.
It was like a big news story.
I didn't.
I didn't do this.
Swiping through.
I'm just like,
oh, where should Charles and I go for dinner if we go to Sydney to watch Harry Stiles?
I've found a place.
Do you know what I mean?
Yeah.
It's a bit far.
Oh, where's this?
This is like down in the Shire.
It's like down in like...
Oh, Tony wouldn't fuck with that.
I've been to the Shire.
Really?
I have.
Yeah, a few times.
Really?
Mitch Chirry used to live there.
Did he?
Yeah.
Fuck, don't explain so much.
I got stopped for a date in the Shire.
You got stopped for a date?
Stood up for a date of the Shire.
You went all the way to the Shire for a day.
You were going to go on a date with Mitch Chiry.
He'd love that.
He would love that.
You'd love that.
Sorry, Mitch, no.
Yeah.
Do you remember the Shire was like they tried to make it the OG reality show?
Yes, like the Jersey Shore and they made a Shire.
Is it?
It was just called The Shire?
It was called The Shire, yeah.
That's crazy.
Yeah.
I remember watching one episode.
Because they like put it on Channel 10.
I think it got one episode and it was off.
It was all up.
Because it was that and being Lara Bingle came out at the same time.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And they also did like a Sydney Shore, which was like the Jersey Shore version.
I'm pretty sure.
She's pretty sure.
S.
To be sure.
But yeah, no, I've been to the Shire.
And when we lived in Sydney for a bit, Torbs worked down that way.
Did he?
Yeah.
Because he was working at like a really big, oh what?
I just need to ask you something because I'm your friend and I love you.
Yeah.
And I care about you and I care about the people you spend time with.
Yeah.
Has your husband ever got a job nearby?
No.
Like.
No.
That's my hot take.
That was a great throw.
Thank you.
It went like a frisbee.
It really did.
It got some volition on the fucking thing.
It did.
Volition, fucking put your volition in my magician.
Wasn't the magician that came here a bit of a magician?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Like, oh, your knickers are gone.
Yeah.
Yeah, he was.
Bit of a like.
Well, it was part of the stick, though.
It is.
Yeah, no, it works perfectly.
Yeah, he does.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Anyway, no, he's never had a job nearby.
Who do you reckon would pick up more at a wedding?
A magician or a DJ?
I think the magician, because you're getting close FaceTime.
Getting FaceTime, you can probably put a hand on and get away with that.
You know, like, but I, a hand on.
Like, you close and like, you got a hard on.
No, like, a hand on.
Like, you're touching each of your hand, like, yeah, you're like.
Oh, I see.
Like, it's like the face time.
Yeah.
Yeah, no good call.
Whereas I think the DJ, you're kind of behind a thing.
What about a saxophone player that gets out on the dance floor?
I mean, they really are fingering on.
Yeah, they are destroying.
Yeah.
They're fingering everything but that saxophone.
Yeah, they...
Like, there was a saxophone player on the dance floor at my cousin George's wedding.
And what a finger gun's kind of...
I think he took someone home and then went back and played the sax again
and they took someone else back.
Two for one.
Yeah.
Like, he went and he doubled it in every way that word can be used.
In both situations.
Well, sure.
But you know what he didn't do?
Charge for chicken salt.
No, and that's just abhorrent.
Good hot take, man.
I'm glad they're back.
Thank you so much.
I don't know if it's back back,
but that one was,
I couldn't let it go.
Chicken salt.
Who, like, grow up.
I know we've probably...
Roll it into your cost.
Yeah.
$5 for salt?
Like, what are you talking about?
Like, shut the fuck up, you dog.
For $5.
Sorry.
For $5.
that you would have paid for chicken salt at the anti-social house.
Yeah.
You can get four knock-off golden gay times or as they're called...
Biscuity bisexual.
Yeah.
Yeah.
From Aldi for less than salt.
Yeah.
Yep.
Do you know what you could get?
How much was it, $5 for the salt?
What's a 50 cent?
50 cents.
You could get 10 50-cent cones.
So true.
I tell you.
what I'll pick.
Mm.
The ice cream.
Yeah.
I mean, it was like a rhetorical question probably, yeah.
I feel like the energy's off and I don't really know why.
Are we just angry about the salt?
Are we?
Yeah.
I'm not like, gee, what do you think, Charles?
I don't think you should have to pay for salt.
Yeah.
That's crazy.
Now, I think that like mayonnaise, tomato sauce, shit like that.
Like, you know, do you know what is something, like, there is so much that he's
fucked about America.
One thing that they do good is that there is lots of condiments.
on the table all the time.
There's always mustard, mayonnaise, tomato, sauce.
Like, there is always...
All included.
Yeah, it's just on the table.
That fucks.
All right.
Some of the greatest staff in the world
are at the Chattanooga Roadstop Waffle House.
She was excellent.
She was amazing.
She gave us some mugs to take home.
Yeah, she goes, oh, it's your first time here.
Have a mug.
Yeah.
Because we love the mugs.
Yeah.
Could you imagine...
Yep.
Because you could ask her for whatever you wanted and she would just take care of you.
Yeah, she was lovely.
Because she treats her guests with care and love and that's why we love the Waffle House in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Yeah.
Could you imagine the...
You're the only 10 I see.
Thank you.
Thank you very much.
Yeah, no worries, friend.
Could you imagine the disgust on that chick's face if she learned that some other place was charging
$5 for salt?
No.
It's just the hospitality.
They don't get it.
At the Waffle House.
Yeah, at the social house?
No.
Waffle house?
Yes.
Great.
Speaking of hospitality, I've got to you love to see it.
Amazing.
Charles, let me paint this picture.
Tony and I are going out for dinner on the third floor.
Oh, yes.
Of this building.
I'm sorry to talk about.
Tony and I are going to dinner on the third floor.
Tony walks up to the stairs and gets to the first floor,
which has an abandoned restaurant.
Like, it used to be a restaurant, but it's not open anymore.
But on the front of the door of this abandoned restaurant,
they still have a sign from when they used to be open,
saying like, stand here and wait.
Line up to be seated.
There you go.
Now, this is the door of an abandoned place,
two levels away from the restaurant we were going to.
And Tony walked up the stairs and went, oh, okay.
And just stood there.
I waited there for a bit.
because I was trying to be polite.
Well, so I got there first and then...
And arrived last.
And Ryan gets there and he goes,
oh, did you go the elevator or the stairs?
And I was like, I went the stairs for the first half.
And then I got confused and I went in the lift.
And he was like, confused by what?
Like, what are you talking?
What are you talking about?
And I was like, there was a sign that aggressed me on.
the way up.
She just stood there.
I was just trying to abide by the rules.
So, yeah, I did stand there for a bit.
And then I was like, oh, I don't think there's anyone in there.
Like, I don't think I'm, I don't really know what I'm lining up for.
Hasn't mean for six years.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So.
Had a good dinner.
Great dinner.
Lovely dinner.
And I'll love to see that.
Excellent day dinner.
And Tony was out on a weeknight.
I'm a crazy girl.
Yeah.
Shout out.
What was that landing on place?
Can we shout their name?
Deshucco?
It's really good.
It's where Madam Brussels used to be for any old Melbourne eyes.
Yeah.
Madam Bras, I didn't realize that until you said it.
Yeah.
We used to go there all the time.
A few tarpers worked there as well.
Yes, we met a few tarppers.
Great staff, lovely people.
Really, really nice.
Should we talk about the guy that said he wants to quit in a blaze of glory?
Yeah, he was like, when I retire from hospitality, I'm going to tell someone to go fuck themselves.
Yeah.
And I said, can I be in the restaurant?
the night that happens.
And he was like, oh, you know, most people are actually pretty good.
And I was like, do you want to do it to me?
Do you want to tell me to go fuck myself?
I don't mind.
I actually said I'm willing to sign something.
Yeah.
Like, we were like, you can say to us.
We don't mind.
Yeah, let me have it, dog.
Yeah.
That little crispy tuna thing was fucked.
I actually haven't something about it.
Anyway, I've got to you love to see it too.
This is from Kristen, who is a high school art teacher.
Fun.
But on the side, she teaches like adult pottery classes.
like at nighttime and stuff.
A bit of extra money,
a little bit of extra like creative juices flowing or whatever.
Kristen said one of my regulars got to the class early
and they were like, oh, what are you listening to?
And she goes, oh, I'm listening to this podcast.
It's called Tony and Ryan.
And the student goes, oh my God, I love them.
Like, I'm such a big fan.
We're big in the pottery space.
And Kristen was like, this is my first tap or in the wild.
Fun.
And as I were chatting about it,
everybody else in the class kind of rocked up.
slowly and they're like oh what are you guys talking about they're like oh we both like love this
Aussie podcast called tony and ryan they're really really cool um and so a bunch of them were like
oh i'd like to listen and so during their class they played like a couple of episodes out while
they were potting oh i love this story until the last sentence because that's just dangerous
exhibit a monday's episode oh welcome to pottery let's play a two in the stink one in the pink
or maybe that's a pottery technique maybe yeah that might be somewhere some way that they could
incorporate that in.
Yeah.
But I did reply to Kristen and I said, oh my God, Tarp, Tony and Ryan pottery.
Yes.
Yeah.
Tarp pottery.
Tarp pottery.
Isn't that so fun?
It's so fun.
But yeah, so now they've got like an unofficial type of pottery listening party where they
like all hang out and make craft and listen to the pod.
It really is the simple of joy is that bring us the most happiness.
Isn't that so sweet?
Yeah.
And just like relating to someone about like a common interest.
Finding someone that loves the same show as you,
and you haven't met someone else before.
Yeah.
You're like, I just need to have talked to someone about this,
and now I've found a person.
And does it also feel a bit like,
oh my God,
someone else knows this exists?
Yeah.
Yeah, totally.
Yeah.
Because I watched the show Power that Fitty Cent was in.
And yet, I don't know a single other person that's ever seen it.
Oh, no, I don't even think I've heard about it.
And so there was a few twists and I was like,
Oh!
Can I talk to someone about this?
And I never, I still have, let me know in the comments
if anyone has ever watched Power.
Great.
Because I don't know a single person that's seen it.
We'll find you someone.
It's like, it's like dating.
We'll find you someone.
All right.
So then I'll do an episode on Power.
Great.
With them.
And then Charles and I will also start our block recaps.
For the renovating show in Australia.
I think people would really like that to be honest.
If you'd like Charles and I to do a block recap episode.
You should know, not an episode of the podcast.
Just get on Instagram as soon as it's done.
Just post a.
about what it's happened.
Yep.
I reckon people would love that.
Like a Sunday night.
Yeah.
Because I only watch the Sunday apps.
I'm starting to only watch the Sunday apps.
Charles is off this season.
And that's a part of his review that he's not liking the new season.
Well, stay tuned for a review about the lot.
He doesn't like that they're living together.
Oh.
Did that couple leave in the end?
No.
Spoiler alert.
They haven't.
Oh,
they're like threatened to leave and everyone was like, good.
Fuck off.
Yeah.
But also grow up.
I also like predicted this.
I said to my mom when we were,
when I was at her house the other night.
This is what the time.
I said to her, if there was a couple to leave this season, it would be that couple.
Yeah.
And then like a week later, they said they were going to leave.
They didn't like being told they weren't special.
Fucking beep-b-b-bib-b-b-b-b-p.
Amazing.
All right, see ya.
Oh, fuck.
We still on.
Yeah, I think there'll be a bit of a hack, but that's okay.
Love you.
Bye.
See you tomorrow.
