Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome to the Tony and Ryan podcast. My name is Ryan. I'm here with Dr. Author, bestselling Dr. Author, Tony Lodge, and we're calling Dee, who's a teacher in Adelaide. And she said, can you please leave my last name out of this because my students also listen to the podcast. I mean, how many days live in Adelaide? Cam's been through plenty of days in Adelaide. Oh yeah, he would too. Don't even get him started on the Melbourne D's football team.
Starting point is 00:00:31 Thanks. Hello? D! Oh, meow. How D hell are you? I'm good, thank you. How are you? Yeah, we're good.
Starting point is 00:00:42 And so we know that you're a teacher and we have to be low key so that your students don't know. But I would like for the record for you to describe exactly what you just had to do to get away and take this phone call. Oh, my God. I just had to like really like be like, oh, kids, sorry, I'm just going to step out to the bathroom. I just like slid away from my kids, found an empty class.
Starting point is 00:01:04 I'm like hiding in a corner, like ducked down behind a desk. See, it's funny because that's what I used to do at school to use my phone as a student. But the teachers have to do it as well. Adee, will you approve this episode? Oh, my God, of course I will. Yay! Hey, it's Dee from Adelaide, and I approve this podcast.
Starting point is 00:01:38 I actually want to start today's episode with a warning. Well, we've got to start it either way, because someone's just approved it. So do we need the warning, or could we do something less scary?ony's just discovered black mirror and she's a little bit kooky i have actually that is actually really yeah i'm very like into conspiracy theory shit at the moment and everything that i read i'm like oh black mirror what does it mean so um i just wanted to put that out there do you think that maybe in our episode thread today, or maybe we could put up a post on Facebook, like what were you late to the party on? Yes.
Starting point is 00:02:10 Because every single person that I've talked to about Black Mirror, they're like, oh, yeah, I loved 2015. Yeah. Guess what I've just started watching? What? Breaking Bad. I'm not even joking. It's so good.
Starting point is 00:02:22 I tell you what's surprising. Yeah. Should we? Sorry. Save it. Save it? good. I'll tell you what's surprising. Yeah. Should we? Sorry. Save it. Save it? Yeah, we'll do this next week. I just want to put a line out there.
Starting point is 00:02:31 Oh, okay. Even though it's not a comedy, there's a lot of surprisingly funny moments in it. Are you still on the first season? No. Because the comedy really drops out after the first season and a half. Yeah. Yeah. It's not as funny then. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:46 It's not as funny then. Right, okay. Yeah. Yeah. It gets less funny. Well, it's not, yeah, comedy. There's just a few. I wasn't expecting to be like, pop! Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:53 There's a few, like, jaggy one-liners and stuff. But, yeah, it gets less funny. Okay. Yeah. Well, Bridge is watching it, and I'm like, in and out. Yeah, right. It's a good show, though. Yeah, and coming up soon, the 2016 Olympics in Brazil.
Starting point is 00:03:08 That's very funny. So much to look forward to. That was a very clever, factual joke. Thank you. Very good. Thank you. Let's do normal or nah. People submit them to our Facebook group.
Starting point is 00:03:18 Just search for Tony and Ryan Podcast on Facebook. Leanne asks, normal or nah? Hi, Leanne. If I've written a to-do list and I do something not on the list, I'll write it down just so I can tick it off. Some say it's dumb, but for me it's just so satisfying.
Starting point is 00:03:34 Normal. I do this every day. And I write to-do lists on my to-do list, then I cross that off when it's done. So before you've even left the list you're on the board. There's already something crossed off and it's done so before you've even like left the list it's all right you're on there's already something crossed off and it's so satisfying what's something you would regularly not put on the list until you've done it like what's the thing that you don't think of and go
Starting point is 00:03:53 oh that's probably list worthy oh i don't know i probably don't have anything small and shit though uh maybe i put like go to the gym and i know that I do that like four times a week already. We get it, mate. You fit. Just subtle flex. What's something that you do every day that you put on your to-do list? Be better than Ryan. Pop that right on the top. 365 days in a row.
Starting point is 00:04:18 Getting it done. Next one here. My mum leaves a cup in the bathroom at the sink so she can drink out of or rinse her mouth when she's in the bathroom. Ava asks, is this normal or nah? Ava says, I think it's disgusting. I can clearly see she hasn't cleaned it or changed it out for a while because I can see the grimy buildup in the bottom of the glass.
Starting point is 00:04:41 I'm really sorry. Let me just, before you judge what I'm about to say I already have I actually already have Normal But I don't use it to drink out of It's for like rinsing my mouth
Starting point is 00:04:54 If I'm brushing my teeth at the sink But you're still putting that to your mouth Yeah And putting water into it Just because you don't swallow But then I do a light rinse of hot water Is that all good? It's better than not It does get the grime on the bottom But to be honest now you don't swallow. But then I do a light rinse of hot water. Is that all good? It's better than not.
Starting point is 00:05:05 It does get the grime on the bottom. But to be honest, now I don't do that because I always brush my teeth in the sink, so I actually just threw that cup out. It was beyond fixing. You couldn't have put that there. You got to the dishwasher and the dishwasher's like, ah, ah, ah. The dishwasher actually said, no, we're full of salmon. We're shut for the day.
Starting point is 00:05:23 You put salmon in us. We're not taking that as well i will pass when you just use a cup as the toothbrush holder oh yeah the toothbrush and the two days because something if you're not drinking out of it it's just another how do you rinse your mouth if you're at the sink like where because do you brush your teeth in the shower no i know we've talked about this like 7 000 times but at. And then I'll just like turn the tap on and like put my head under it. See, I don't want to put – I've done that, right? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:50 But putting your head in the sink freaks me out. That sink is foul. Freaks you out more than drinking out of the grimy glass that was beyond dishwashing. But everyone's like washing their hands in there after they've like done a poo or like after a hard day's work. Not relatable for me. But like, and so then. Hey, sometimes doing a poo is a hard day's work.
Starting point is 00:06:10 That's true. But then like putting your whole face in the like limey bathroom, because you know what's weird is that bathroom water, different to sink water in the kitchen. It's the same water. It's not. It's the same water. It's not.
Starting point is 00:06:23 Because when you fill up your water bottle in the kitchen, and if you do it in the bathroom late at night, if you're scared of the dark like me, totally different experience. It tastes different? Yep. Yeah. So I just wouldn't be drinking that water, and I just don't trust it, to be honest.
Starting point is 00:06:38 Black mirror up. Laura asks, is it normal to make Spotify playlists for your fur babies when you're going to be out of the house for a little bit or nah? I feel a bit silly, but I think the sound of silence would be maddening. I want them to feel comfortable and relaxed when I'm out of the home. Am I crazy? Normal or nah to the playlist, nah, but we always leave the TV on for Pippa.
Starting point is 00:07:05 Cause Pippa loves, she loves Larry. Yeah. She loves Larry Emder. Yeah. So we always put on the morning show. Yep. Um, so sometimes she catches the end of, um, Sunrise. She likes Shervo so far.
Starting point is 00:07:16 Oh, she's approved. She's a fan, which is great. That is great. A big change for the nation. It has been. It has been, yeah. She's happy about it. Um, and then she loves it when Larry and Kylie come on.
Starting point is 00:07:25 Because sometimes Larry and Kylie and Nat and Shervo, they have a chat at the end. They do a crossover. Don't they? And this morning they actually had a plate of biscuits and went, oh, you'll have to try one. They went, oh, well, it was very good. That is cute.
Starting point is 00:07:37 Yeah, and so people love Kylie and Larry. Does she like when Uncle Ryan pops up from time to time? Yeah, she does love that. And she's seen Mum on the TV a couple of times as well. And then so then, but sometimes during the day on Channel 7, I might actually talk to someone at programming about this. Because sometimes. Tony's been in there once and suddenly.
Starting point is 00:07:56 I might have to go and have a chat to Carl about this. Wrong network. Oh, did you say Carl? Not Carl. Well, Carl's just my generic guy who works in the office. Oh, but Carl Steppenović is on Channel 9, so I would appreciate it if you didn't cross your... I'm just going to chat to Steve.
Starting point is 00:08:09 Thank you. No, Steve is on Channel 10 Sports. Tim Watson is the only guy I get my school from. We haven't told that story. Anyway, so they sometimes during the day play a bit of a scary movie. Like an 80s murder mystery? Yeah, and sometimes I just worry that Pippa gets a bit scared, and obviously because she doesn't know what's going on,
Starting point is 00:08:31 but the spooky music and stuff would be quite unsettling. I'll stop you right there. Yeah. How many times has she been in the room and you've watched an episode of Black Mirror in the last seven days? True, actually, yeah. But Mum's there to comfort her. Mum and D'Lab are there for smoothies.
Starting point is 00:08:44 Mum and D'Lab are there for some cheese. Mum and D'Lab. That's Torbs. D'Lab? Yeah. Why is he D'Lab? It sounds like dad, but it's D'Lab. He's just cute.
Starting point is 00:08:56 Anyway, so normal, but I don't do the Spotify playlist, but that would eliminate the worry, the cause for concern of the scary movie. But then it comes back around because they play the UK chase and then the Australian chase. Yeah, there's a lot of chase going on in the afternoon. She says, I think the sound of silence would be maddening, but keep in mind that Pippa lives with Tony. Yeah. So it goes from like ultimate loud max levels
Starting point is 00:09:14 and then when I leave, it's just like. A nice calm. Which would be scary. Yeah. One extreme to the other. She would. Begging your partner to watch a movie with them only for them to fall asleep 25 minutes later
Starting point is 00:09:29 and then you're stuck watching the movie that you never wanted to watch in the first place. Bonnie asks, is this normal or nah? My partner does it weekly and it's the fucking worst. I don't think that I can comment because I'm the partner that falls asleep. Because you're not awake to be a part of the conversation. Yeah, I'm always the one that falls asleep.
Starting point is 00:09:47 But I'm sure that Torbs hates it when I put on fucking Bolt, the Disney movie with the dog, and then he has to watch the rest. But I think he'd just turn it off. Why don't you just turn it off? Well, I think what Bonnie's getting at is maybe if you're going to fall asleep anyway, maybe I'll just pick a movie I want to watch. Oh, but then you could just turn it off and then everyone win-win. Then the person who's asleep thinks that they've won
Starting point is 00:10:08 and then you get to watch the movie that you won after the 10 minutes of the other person being asleep. And Bonnie's watched the first 25 minutes of 100 different movies. Yeah, that's true. That would be annoying after a while. Are you the faller sleeper or are you the picker? Definitely not the picker in the house. It's been a long time since I've watched a movie that I've wanted to watch.
Starting point is 00:10:27 But I will often be the person being asleep. But then, okay, so here's our issue. Is that Bridget doesn't just want to watch the movie. She wants to watch the movie with me. Oh, yeah. It's the activity. And she, like you, wants to ask all the annoying questions. Yeah, I'm a question asker.
Starting point is 00:10:43 But then no one tells me anything, so I just go to sleep. Yeah, so, you know, the fire's on. It's a Sunday. Oh, let's watch a movie. Great. And then my eyes will be drifting off, which is kind of nice. She's picked the movie. I don't care either way.
Starting point is 00:10:54 I'm having a little nap. But it's still a nice activity. Well, then she's like, you're not asleep, are you? I mean. So you can't. No, she's what a fucking rookie. No, so you can't say, oh, you fucking rookie no you can't say oh you're not a sleeper you have to cough and then go oh my god sorry were you asleep because you have to pretend you didn't know but if that guy is that the guy from that other movie and he's he that and then i
Starting point is 00:11:16 go oh yeah i think so or i go god can you believe that just happened to us goes yeah and i go you're asleep you've got no fucking idea what's going on? And he goes, I don't know. And I go, so what are we rewinding it? Because I'm 100. Rewinding it? Fuck, it would take, for me to watch one of Bridget's movies on a weekend, if we
Starting point is 00:11:37 rewound every time I slept, we'd six carats of sex. We'd still be there. Yeah. Hey, it's Steve from Adelaide, and Six, carry the set. We'd still be there. Yeah. It's Thursday. Hey, it's Steve from Adelaide, and you're listening to Tony and Ryan. A massive shout out to a few of our champion tapers over at our Patreon. Hopefully none of them are asleep.
Starting point is 00:12:12 Marianne Bubbly, Meg Moo, Hayden Tonkin, Stephanie Quantanilla, and Mikkelty Knott. Thank you so much for being part of our Patreon. We fucking love to see it. And hopefully that team of people will be watching the live stream should we reach our goal. Announcement Monday. Yeah. We're getting close.
Starting point is 00:12:28 We're padding. I reckon by Monday we'll have an announcement. Yeah. That's how we're tracking. The thing is that we're not going, oh, hooking you through, big announcement on Monday. Padding till Monday. Padding till Monday.
Starting point is 00:12:41 Padding till Monday. We know that we've got a couple of days. Excited to do a 50-hour live stream. Thank you very much for everyone who got around us. Tomorrow on the show, Germans and Australia have a little thing going that Australians don't know about. So we're, like, involved in this, like, kind of like an in joke, but we're not in.
Starting point is 00:13:00 Oh, I hate missing out. But that's why I'm going to bring us up to speed. So everyone in Germany will go, I know what you're talking about. And now everyone in Australia will go, oh, I didn't know we were a part of that. Will we be happy once we know? We'll think it's funny. Okay, great. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:15 Okay. So I have a bit of a moral dilemma, I think, because I just got a text this morning that has rattled me a little bit and I genuinely actually need your advice. Okay. So I have plans with two of my girlfriends tomorrow night. So like a Friday night. Yes. So it's three of us.
Starting point is 00:13:40 I thought you were going to say Double Books Lodge. Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. So it's like, I'm going to use fake names. So bear with me because I'll probably get the mixed up. No, not really. So one of them, Sam. Okay. I know her very well.
Starting point is 00:13:59 Like we went to uni together. And the other girl, Mel. I've actually written down the fake name so i don't you know we're on a podcast called sam and mel right oh my god no it's not about sam and mel oh my god i must have incepted myself let me think should i pick different fake names no then there'll be too many people yeah it's too it's too hard i'm going up it was six people yeah okay um and so mel i kind of know them through like someone I used to work with kind of thing, right? And it just so happens through the magic of Melbourne that Sam and Mel also know each other because like their boyfriends are mates.
Starting point is 00:14:43 Great. Or used to live together or something. Sure. Now this is good because then it's not like you're like that awkward like are mates. Great. Or you still live together or something. Sure. Now this is good because then it's not like you're like that awkward like introducer-er. No. Everyone's on board. Yeah, so it's kind of like but Sam and I,
Starting point is 00:14:53 we do know each other quite well. Yep. And I don't know Mel that well. Okay. And Sam also doesn't really know Mel super well but have known each other for like a long time kind of in passing so it's like a weird mutual kind of thing um we've been planning for a little while to catch up because it was one of those things right you know when you kind of bump into someone and you
Starting point is 00:15:14 go we'll have to do something it's the coincidence chat right it's like when you bump into someone somewhere that you wouldn't expect and you go well this obviously obviously the universe is telling us something. We have to catch up. I've got a friend who I've had, I've seen probably once in 10 years. Yeah. And they might be in the US at the same time we're there. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:34 I think overseas you've got to. And they've gone, oh, we should catch up. And I was like, she lives 10 minutes down the road. I've seen her once in a decade. No, but overseas you have to. When are you going to be over there? Because what are the odds of you being overseas at the same time, same city, like crazy?
Starting point is 00:15:47 Crazy. I reckon if I bumped into like a high school bully in fucking Paris, I reckon I'd be like, well, we've got to have a drink. Like there's just no way that we could be this far around the world and bump into each other. Like that's insanity. It is insanity. Anyway, so it was one of those things where we were like,
Starting point is 00:16:04 oh, we'll have to have dinner. Yep. And they've decided to actually follow through. How annoying. Which is insanity. Anyway, so it was one of those things where we were like, oh, we'll have to have dinner. Yep. And they've decided to actually follow through. How annoying. Which is a choice. Yeah. And so. How do you feel about this?
Starting point is 00:16:12 I'm actually excited. No, they're nice. I think I know who you're talking about. Yeah. Your code names are no good here, mate. So I am excited because I really like both of them. Yeah. And I don't have a lot of friends who I don't work with
Starting point is 00:16:24 or haven't worked with, of them. Yeah. And I don't have a lot of friends who I don't work with or haven't worked with, you know. Yeah. So I obviously see you, Ryan, and Producer Cam all the time. Yeah. I hang out with my boyfriend, Torbs, and, like, that's kind of it. So I'm really excited to kind of, like, hang out with somebody else. Yep. Anyway, we've been planning for a little while to catch up.
Starting point is 00:16:41 And Sam, who I went to uni with and i know really well um she's actually just text and cancelled oh yeah so you all know where this is going so the one that you don't know that well is like still on board as far as i know like still on board um and has said like, oh, that's like, so the Frenchman. Oh, yeah. So. So. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:17:15 Let it all out. I need you. I need you. Shut up. Now, speaking of us speaking in codes. Yeah. Did this happen to us last week as well? Someone we know really well was going to meet with us
Starting point is 00:17:29 and bring one of his colleagues. Yeah, and another person. And another person. And they go, oh, we're going to catch up for coffee. One of my colleagues will come with me. Is that all right? Yeah, of course it is. And then the person we know goes, I can't make it,
Starting point is 00:17:39 but my colleague's still down. And we're like, what the fuck are you talking about? Not that it wasn't a lovely catch up, but it wasn't like, oh, to happen i won't be there but can you still make it work it was like casual it was like a yeah it was friendly yeah so now so you got roped into that and now you're gonna get roped into this so the friend fuck are you feeling okay do i look like yeah you're gonna be a fever you got a fever coming on um i've got a covid test in the car. Maybe I'll go down to it. Does anyone have COVID and can take this test for me? I need a positive drug test, okay? So I guess we all know where this is going.
Starting point is 00:18:14 Cancel. But the thing is, is that I actually, it's probably not really that I mind hanging out with Mel. It's a blind date. On my own. Yeah. It's more just that like out of like decency, do you have to cancel the plans and reschedule the whole thing
Starting point is 00:18:37 because it would be rude for one person to miss out. But also the idea of it was that all three of us were going to kind of go and like get to know each other and be a trio and but yeah and like have fun together it wasn't like we're going for dinner did you want to come it's like the three of us are catching up well so the one who cancelled if you catch up with her later do you have to bring the other one well that's the thing because then are we out of whack you're out of whack because yeah out of sync that's two versus one like it's yeah it's not a trio a trio anymore. It's a two plus one. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:05 Because if Mel had cancelled, it would be like, oh, is it bad if Sam and I still catch up? I mean, if Cam called in sick today, we still would have come and done the podcast. But that's like because we have to. Yeah. Whereas I don't have to go out for dinner tomorrow night. Yeah, yeah, true, yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:23 You know what I mean? Like we would have to work. What are you leaning towards? Well. Actually, let me. What do you hope? What do you want the outcome to be? Well.
Starting point is 00:19:31 It feels like you don't want to go. No, because it's not that I don't want to go. But see, the person who's cancelled, Sam, the one that I went to uni with and I know very well, she maybe would be a bit sensitive if we went without. No, she cancelled. She can't cancel and then get pissed at you for going and doing a thing. What, if they cancel, then you have to stay home?
Starting point is 00:19:53 No, but so it's like if she goes, oh, I can't come, we go, oh, that's all right, well, we'll have a drink on you. Like, is that what you're supposed to do? Or are you supposed to go, oh, well, when can all three of us reschedule? Because it's been months in that because someone goes, oh, I've got this on the weekend. Like, I don't know where it's all come from. But isn't everyone just fucking getting married at the moment? Every single one of my friends is like, oh, we've got a wedding this weekend.
Starting point is 00:20:16 I'm like, well, who's getting that? Everyone you know is here. And none of us are getting married this weekend. It's ridiculous. Also, I feel like the older you get, the windows of you being available and wanting to leave the house, they close up. Yeah. So the fact that you're trying to get two people together at one time.
Starting point is 00:20:32 Is hard enough. Trying to line up three calendars. That's fucking trio problems. So I think, like, you just got to take a win-win. Like, if there's an outing that you can get to. Yeah, that's true. You just got to take it while you can. Because I think I'm getting more protective of my time and building in like quiet home
Starting point is 00:20:49 time into my schedule rather than going, oh, I'll book myself up and just hope for the best. Well, Black Mirror is not going to watch itself. Exactly. Right. But because otherwise I get to Monday and I go, why did I do that to myself? I'm fucked. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:00 Like I've done something every day. I haven't had a sleep in or I haven't whatever. So yeah, I'm kind of like, oh, if Friday night I go and do this thing, that's fine. Do you know what I think that the best response would be like, oh, my God, Sam, that's so shit. Let's find another time that works for all three of us. Then I'm off the hook for this week and probably a couple of months
Starting point is 00:21:19 because it took that long to organise. But is there a part of you that just wants to tick it off and get on with your life? But tick it off makes it sound like it's only going to be one and done. Is it going to be one and done or am I now friends with these people and we hang out all the time? Well, you just don't sound too excited about it.
Starting point is 00:21:34 Especially because they both probably listen sometimes. Imagine hearing that. I've used fake names. Okay. So they won't know. Alright. They're like, oh, I had plans with Tony on Friday. What do you, and I know this is. I really like both of them. It's definitely not me being a dog.
Starting point is 00:21:49 I know this is hard for you. Yep. But I want you to forget about the others and just actually ask yourself, what do you want to happen? Maybe I should still go. That's nice. Yeah, when you're out, you go, oh, in a few weeks. And then you can like plan, why don't we go here?
Starting point is 00:22:06 I've been there. Because sometimes planning the next one is half the fun of going out. So you reckon that we should go on Friday or that we should be like, oh, that's fine. The three of us will catch up in a few weeks, but we're still going to go and have dinner because it's a Friday and Mama needs to go and fill her cup and get out of the house and have a little vino.
Starting point is 00:22:23 Well, I don't call myself Mama, so there's the first problem. I'm not out of the bedroom. Yeah, that's a bit weird. I reckon still go. You reckon? Bite the bullet. Make a new friend. It is fun of me, isn't it?
Starting point is 00:22:38 I think. I'm going out tonight as well to an event, an art opening. My friend Rachel, who I've started texting with. Oh, yeah. Sarah. Thank God we got that follow-up. Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:50 Of all the things that have happened in the last week, everyone listening has been on the edge of their seats. Yeah, we're going to an art opening thing tonight. No, I think you should go. You reckon? I think you should go. This is new Tony. I'll text back.
Starting point is 00:22:59 Who goes out. Imagine if I check my phone. They're like, yeah, let's just do it in two weeks. Yeah, we'll just catch up another time. Yeah. And then, yeah, okay. Can we get an update? Like whenever it plays out?
Starting point is 00:23:13 How about we see? Because if I get cancelled on, I really don't want to share that. I've got to love to see it. What did I say? I've got to love to spee. To spee. This has thrown me. We're going to spee. Speaking of... I'm going to love to space. This has thrown me. We're going to space.
Starting point is 00:23:28 The Scottish astronaut. We're off to space. Why aren't there any Scottish space movies? Obviously because of that. Yeah. I mean, no reason, I guess. You know what's a
Starting point is 00:23:40 fucking good movie? Armageddon. It is. Yeah, I think I might watch it again. How do you have time between all these social outings and watching Black Mirror? I'll do it in my blockout time.
Starting point is 00:23:49 My deep work time. Does old Ben Affleck get it done for you? He's a hottie in that movie, though, isn't he? Him and Stephen Tyler's daughter. Liv Tyler? Liv Tyler. Yeah, hottie. Hot.
Starting point is 00:24:01 Steve Buscemi gets space dementia, though, which is very sad. That's sad. Yeah. R.I.P. Steve Buscemi gets space dementia, though, which is very sad. That's sad. Yeah. R.I.P. So that's really horrible. I mentioned that my mum used the word daddy in her text. I mean, you just called me mama. Yeah, that's why I was like, I've got these words on the brain.
Starting point is 00:24:17 Yeah. Bradley, who listens to the podcast. Hi, Bradley. He messaged through and he said, oh, I've also got a daddy story. Sorry, do you guys need a minute sorry yeah bradley lay it on us daddy dadly dadly so bradley's grandma sent bradley's husband yep a message because it was father's day in the u.s also father's day needs to fucking get a shit together it does when you shared the, it was very sweet. So your half-brother Cooper shared the thing of you
Starting point is 00:24:47 and your birth father, Joel. I thought that was so cute. God, your hair was big, wasn't it? Yeah, it was an interesting time in my life. It was a tall hair. Yeah, it was a tall hair. So it was Father's Day in the US, but then in the UK, it's like later in Australia, September.
Starting point is 00:25:01 I think that the UK Mother's Day and Australia is the same. Oh, okay. All I know is because I've got a father in 15 different time zones. They're milking that, aren't they? Yeah, I know. But you get three Christmases. Yeah. So it's really losing.
Starting point is 00:25:15 So Bradley's grandma loves the grandson and the grandson's husband. He's real proud of him. So he sends a message for Father's Day. And Bradley says, it made me think of the text Ryan's mum sent him. And again, this is just innocent old grandma trying to be cute and trying to be supportive of the family. Happy Father's Day to the big daddy in your house.
Starting point is 00:25:38 And say happy Father's Day to big daddy Nick as well. I can't imagine how it must feel to have multiple big daddies at once. She must love it. She's an ally. Well, Grandma is trying to be an ally and very supportive, and you can imagine Daddy Bradley getting the message, I just can't imagine how it must feel having multiple daddies at once. And Bradley goes, well, I don't have to imagine.
Starting point is 00:26:06 Yeah, Grandma, wait till Christmas. See what we've got you. But thanks for sending that through, Bradley. And happy Father's Day to you. Happy Father's Day, even though it was last week. We're a bit late. That's okay. On the weekend, might you love to see it, on the weekend,
Starting point is 00:26:20 Torbs and I were driving and across this, it was a road that was like two lanes one way, two lanes the other way. And this massive truck with two huge trailers on it drove up, blocked the entire road and reversed into a fucking tiny driveway. It was just amazing. Torbs and I were in the front seat
Starting point is 00:26:41 and this guy, we were at the front, we were sitting there and this guy is like just fucking done like a fucking champion and Torbs and I both started clapping and the guy kind of went like this, I did the thanks wave and then realised we were clapping went oh
Starting point is 00:26:56 that was a big thumbs up it was the best and I just love to see that yeah, well first of all that is a great, you you love to see it anyway but do you think you appreciate that more because your boyfriend can't drive and is a piece of shit oh don't no but like you respect it more because you're like you don't get to see it that often but it was also just like two massive trailers on a truck this tiny driveway like oh do you imagine driving a truck through the city no fucking way when you see a huge bus go around to like a small roundabout.
Starting point is 00:27:29 And also because I know when you see like trucks on the highway, people always cut them off because they're like, they leave a lot more room because they're heavier. And so people always cut them off. That would just fuck me right off. Oh yeah, Tony's very impatient on the road. I'm not impatient. I just don't like it when people are dickheads. I have very little wiggle room for fuckheadery.
Starting point is 00:27:48 You know. Wiggle room for fuckheadery. I don't have wiggle room for fuckheadery. All right, tomorrow on the show, I know I said Australia and Germany are going to be close together, which is true, but also, and Cam and I have looked at this footage before you came into the studio this morning, secret footage from Tony Lodge in a supermarket has been sent through,
Starting point is 00:28:10 and so we're all going to watch it together. Great. Were you aware that you were being filmed? No. Okay. It's surprising because it looks like you're looking at the camera. All right, I'll show you tomorrow. And it's a video show. Yeah, that's why we've waited until Friday. Fuck. All right, I'll show you tomorrow. And it's a video show.
Starting point is 00:28:25 Yeah, that's why we've waited until Friday. Fuck. All right, see you then. It's so good, too. No, don't. See you. Goodbye, meow. Oh, love you.
Starting point is 00:28:35 Bye.
