Starting point is 00:00:00 We're going to the Oscars. What? Unbelievable. The Oscars is... The thing. Is it, eh? That's it. We could meet Amelia Van Doldenberg.
Starting point is 00:00:09 What else could we do? I'm Al J. from World Coast Australia. Jordan here from Dublin, Ireland. I'm Olivia from Mountain Victoria and I approve this podcast. Welcome to the Tony and Ryan podcast. Hi. Hi. This is Dr. Tony author, Tony Lodge.
Starting point is 00:00:36 And here... I thought you're about to say Dr. Tony... Um, altruitch. And I was like, well, it's not. Probably not. No.
Starting point is 00:00:43 He's not involved. Um, Tony was just doing a great impression that I was like, it's rude to not share it. Well, watch this real eye sent it to Tombs actually. And the guy's like, I wish I could remember the fucking creator. I'll find it after this and we'll share it. Um, and he goes, um, what my wife thinks, how my wife thinks I'll react when she brings up Christmas in September.
Starting point is 00:01:03 It's like, oh, babe, thank God you've brought it up. In fact, you should have brought it up last month. Oh, you're right. We should get a ham on Christmas Eve. But it is so fucking funny. I sent it to Forbes and I was like, literally me. He was like, yeah. In September, there was a group chat with my cousins about who was going to bring what kind of salad.
Starting point is 00:01:25 What type of salad do you think you'd be feeling like? What kind of, well, first of all, never. Am I feeling like a salad? Yeah. So I probably nix it. And to know what salad I want four months in advance is crazy. food planning at this stage, I don't think so. Well, that's all our family plans.
Starting point is 00:01:44 What else is there to plan if not food? Oh, ours is more like, oh, are you guys? So, because Libby and Jason, they live in Melbourne. So we spend Christmas with them normally. So like my sister and I normally like, oh, do you want to have it at your place or my place? That's normally. Oh, our torbs aren't going to be here. Yeah, we had to lock in dates and availability in June.
Starting point is 00:02:04 Yeah, and that's tough. Get that day locked in in July, August, so we can get on to the salads. Yeah, yeah. Well, I don't think I want to be talking about like a cranberry and feta salad at this late stage. Yeah. This early stage. It's crazy. It's crazy.
Starting point is 00:02:17 But I do, I like to know what our plan. Because Torbs and I often go away at Christmas because it's like the only time we both can like easily get time off. Does everyone want a travel hack? What was a travel hack? Fly Christmas Day. Fly Christmas Day. Yeah. Cheap flights, empty planes.
Starting point is 00:02:32 Yeah, empty plane. And because it's an empty plane and it's pretty cruisy. I think the staff are kind of in a good mood. They're wearing like a little Christmas hat and they're like, hey, if it's Christmas, we might as well have fun. A little bit of turkey in the meal today. Yeah. And they give everyone a little champas.
Starting point is 00:02:46 Yeah. It's a great day to fly. It is a great. We've flown Christmas a lot and it is good. It's much cheaper. When you're younger. Sorry, Charles. Just found the video.
Starting point is 00:02:55 Play it, Charles. It's really funny. This morning. You just give me a ring to get the ball rolling on the Christmas plans in September. No, you're right. It's never too early. Sure what is it. There's only 94 sleep still.
Starting point is 00:03:08 Christmas we might as well fucking we might as well have a you're gonna head in town today and start picking a few bits up no that's music to my ears well I want to try to come to you what are you thinking five six hundred closer to a thousand because you're going to get advent calendars as well no you'd want to be getting them in September have you put any thought into the matching matching PJs yeah get them today as well because I was only thinking it's only a matter of time before the worldwide PJ shortage kicks in yeah no get them as well what about the three You're thinking the end of October? No.
Starting point is 00:03:40 I'll come home today and I'll go up to the attic and I'll take the tree down. Should we might as well fuck it up tonight if that's what you want? Have you thought about? Can someone tag me in this in a few months and remind me to get the pajamas? I think Mabel would have, because we've got matching Christmas jamis. And I think she's probably grown out of the ones I bought her when she was seven months old. I reckon. So I might have to get some new ones.
Starting point is 00:04:00 No, I think that's, I think I'm matching PJs as a family is very cute. Matching PJs on Christmas Eve and we watch a Christmas movie. Yeah, that's the way to do it. I've started making Mabel cocktails as well because I'll make me and Bridger drink and she'll be like, can I have one? And I'm like, okay. Yeah, but just half the vodka.
Starting point is 00:04:15 Yes. You're so small. No, the trick is me trying to find stuff that makes it colourful that isn't booze. Oh, so you're like sprinkles on the top of something. Yeah, and whatever. And then I've also, when I've got like a dried orange, it makes it look really fancy and some.
Starting point is 00:04:31 And she calls rice, uh, rice. She calls ice rocks. Oh, cute. Oh, on the rocks. Of course. It's like, well, some rocks in there. And I go, yeah, got some rocks, got an orange slice, a little straw. And, you know, I got some little color and stuff in the top there.
Starting point is 00:04:44 That is so cute. I've also got this, I think it's like a multi-vitamin powder. Yeah. You sprinkle in your thing and it gives you whatever. But it's a really bright color. Oh, yeah. So I'm like, a little bit of that will make it look a bit fancy. And I haven't forbid you get too much vitamin C, you know.
Starting point is 00:05:02 Yeah. And so it's really fancy. So I feel like this year it's going to be cocktails, Christmas movie, in matching pajamas. That is so cute. And if anyone knows of some non-alcoholic cordials that look Christmas colors, let me know because that'll help for her cocktail. Grenadine.
Starting point is 00:05:17 I think that's alcoholic. No, because as a kid, you would get it in, like, lemonade for a fire engine. Really? Isn't, Grinidine's just red cordial,
Starting point is 00:05:26 isn't it? Is it? Yeah, I think, the word just sounds. It does, but I'm pretty sure. I think it's just,
Starting point is 00:05:32 um, I think it's cordial. Yeah, it's not, it's not an alcoholic bar syrup. Yeah. Okay, great. Because imagine if we,
Starting point is 00:05:38 if we just found out. And I'm like, oh my God. I was being drinking all this time. Well, because, and that would be the first time we ever discovered something that Tony, you know, something horrible that I did as Chuck.
Starting point is 00:05:49 Yeah. I, Torbs and I've been watching fucking secret lives of Mormon wives. You know, that show and it's like all the ladies, they make TikTok and whatever, because they live, they're all Mormons,
Starting point is 00:06:01 they don't drink alcohol, but they drink heaps of soda. And they like pimped this. So it's like a diet Coke, but it's got like, coconut cream in it and stuff like that. And I was watching it and I was like, is that really good? And so I bought all the stuff like I bought like coconut cream and like and like it's actually young. Really? It's really good. Coconut cream can sometimes it hits and sometimes it doesn't. I love it. Yeah. But I just thought in a Diet Coke that feels foul. Like a spider though? Like is it kind of. Well yeah, kind of. But then it's really feeling because it's like got all the cream in it. It's just like oh my God. Like I don't need to have that with dinner.
Starting point is 00:06:38 that's like a full meal. Yeah. Then the other thing that we tried was like, I saw all these people on Instagram doing like cherry, like muddling cherries in the bottom and then topping it up with Diet Coke and lime. So I made that for us on the weekend. And that was, so I did like,
Starting point is 00:06:55 you know the like infusion blender? No. Like the stick blender? Yeah. I don't think it's called. I know. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:00 And then I did that in like a deli container and like massirated all the cherries up. And then like I froze it all. so that if we want one, we can just like pop one into a thing and then that'll like melt in with their Diet Coke. Listen to this, Charles. What are we talking to over here? Domestic goddess? That sounds amazing.
Starting point is 00:07:19 But it's the same kind of like making like a fun cocktail because like, how yeah. Toops not both. Well, I really do, but another of us really drink at home especially. Like, so it's just like a nice little. A little fancy one. Yeah. I've got this like fancy cordial that's like an LLB flavor. Nice.
Starting point is 00:07:37 And so that, I need to get some of that. A little soda stream. And then you're like, man, I could be at the Warren Dipe Pub, but I'm here at my own. I'm not being all day. Yeah. That's good. There's an Australian reality show about renovating called The Block. Seven a Block Sunday night.
Starting point is 00:07:53 Did you know seven a block is on Channel 9? And every year we have this fight at my house, which bridge goes, hop, seven a block, pop it on Channel 7. And I go, no, the seven is a clock on Channel 9. And then I go, and we count this conversation last year. Yeah, nah. I think seven a block is good from them. On nine.
Starting point is 00:08:15 Yeah. What times the block? Seven a block. Seven a block. We've learned that you will be the buyer and I will be the builder. Yeah. It was very stressful though, thinking about which would be which. But for us to get on the show,
Starting point is 00:08:29 I was like, do we have an inside connection? Do we have any hookups? Yeah. And Tony Lodge. The task is, we'll never let us. down. They never do. Tapa, Locky Grantham.
Starting point is 00:08:40 Hi, Locky Grantham. A guy who helped some builders once a few seasons ago used to live in my town, but then he moved. Done. Call him up. I doesn't know. He just lived in the town. A guy who helped some of the builders a few seasons ago. One time.
Starting point is 00:09:00 One time used to live in my town, but has since moved. Yeah. We'd be up to chuck him down. It'll be in a yearbook somewhere. But, Locky, I love that you came to the Facebook group. Very enthusiastic. What town was it? Didn't say.
Starting point is 00:09:18 Great. What season was it? A few seasons ago. Jade Marie. Hi, Jade. Okay. Okay. We're on here.
Starting point is 00:09:28 The guy who designs the gardens and the outdoor areas on the block is Dave Franklin. Charles is nodding. It's the same guy every year. Oh, cool. And Jade says, guess who my husband is? Dave Franklin No my husband knows a guy whose uncle once had his garden looked at by Dave
Starting point is 00:09:45 Say that again slower My husband knows a guy Knows a guy Whose uncle Uncle Had his garden looked at by Dave Franklin once One time Yeah
Starting point is 00:09:58 Yeah Okay Well that's pretty close Yeah Thanks Jade How was it? Did he do a good job? Oh he just came around for a look
Starting point is 00:10:09 Oh he didn't redo it Well, I think it's just like a quote or a, you know. Oh, it didn't go through with it. No. Oh, in real life. I've heard that about Dave Franklin. It could have been Jade's husband's uncle's friend, though. Might have been an asshole. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:26 It's looking good. Two kids don't make it right. No, that is so true. You've always said that. Tapa, Georgia Percival. Hi, Georgia Percival. In 2020, the winners went out and got like winners tattoos. In 2020, yep.
Starting point is 00:10:40 Oh, COVID. Yeah. I think it was pre-COVID. Oh. Yeah, maybe. Because they would have filmed that at the end of 2019. Yeah. They're filming in April.
Starting point is 00:10:50 Oh. You fucked Los of Charles. Wasn't COVID 2021? No, 2020. Really? Yeah. Because it was COVID-19. It started at the end of 2019.
Starting point is 00:11:01 It was like the beginning of 2020. Was the number 19 because it was the year 19? That it was like founded or. Founded? exposed, I don't know. I'm the founder of this tech startup. What did you do the founder of? COVID.
Starting point is 00:11:16 Is the COVID in 19 because of the year? The 19, COVID-19 is because the year is like queen door. Great. Yeah. And so, because in the, do you remember in the beginning of COVID? Yeah. So like the January, February. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:30 It was like, people were like, oh, who cares? And then people like started dying. They're like, oh, fuck. It's a little thing. Oh, people died and people still said, who cares. Yeah. That did happen. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:39 Missa Hutchins. She, yeah. I know people are going to die, but it's kind of like inevitable. Oh, that video is crazy. If you're not saying that, we're not getting into that now because it is conspiracy adjacent, but I blow you to put your tin hat on and watch that movie. Movie? Video.
Starting point is 00:11:57 Georgia Percival in 2020, COVID. COVID. The winner's tattoos. The winners went out and got winners tattoo. My uncle was the tattoo artist. That's good. The whole camera crew showed up to film it and do a big segment on it, but then they didn't use the footage.
Starting point is 00:12:15 Oh. It hurts, and I can say this, it hurts to hit the cutting room floor. Yeah. It does. Yeah. What floors are you landed on? Oh, just like stuff when I was in radio that they go like, can you go out and film this stunt? And then it never gets used.
Starting point is 00:12:31 Jim Tam 2020. That was the tattoo. Oh, that's the winner tattoo. They posted it on the Instagram. Oh great. Did they tag the tattoo artists? Nigel Rungan. Oh no, that was the cameraman.
Starting point is 00:12:44 David B.C.T. Williams tattoos. Oh, his niece is Georgia Percival. Oh, my God. Charles, click on David B.C.T. Williams tattoos. Oh, you fucking. Did you click on the hashtag like a fucking loser? It's like embedded so you can't click on stuff. Oh, okay, Boomer.
Starting point is 00:13:00 Can you comment on that and say, can you get us on the block? Charles has never been on Instagram before. It's his first time. Clicking on a hashtag. No. I have to them. Did you want to explore more things similar? Oh, that's so embarrassing.
Starting point is 00:13:14 Oh, Charles, if I did that, I just fucking, the hopeful I flushed myself down the toilet. That's so embarrassing, Charles. Oh, hello, David. Oh, it's like traditional, that's fucking crazy. Imagine sitting for that back piece. I wonder how many sittings I did that in. Fuck, that's very detailed.
Starting point is 00:13:31 That's beautiful. Well, if you ever need a Japanese tattoo in Brisbane, hit up David B.C. T. Williams tattoos. And mention Hannah Percival's name for 10% off. That might not be honored, but you can try. You can ask. You say, oh, I listen to this podcast that mentioned your niece, Hannah Percival. Georgia.
Starting point is 00:13:52 Georgia. Finally. Now let's get serious. Yeah. Because this is that way. We want to get on the block. We got to hook up. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:00 Jack Tuxford. Here we go. Come on, Jack. Jack me off. Come on Jack. Hey, come on jack me off. Would you help your uncle jack off a horse? Did the horse buy me a drink?
Starting point is 00:14:15 We can take it to water, but... You can't jack it off. As the old saying goes, you can take a horse to a bar, but you can't jack it off without consent. Jack is a barista, and you know how there's a Maccafe on the block? You told me this, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, he doesn't work there.
Starting point is 00:14:36 But at his cafe, someone came in and Jack goes, yeah, this guy ordered a flat white with skin milk, right? And then the other guy working there goes, that guy kind of looks like a guy who was on the block once. And Jack went, I don't watch it. He goes, what times it starts? He said on Channel 7. And Jack's done it. That might be it. What cafe does Jack work out?
Starting point is 00:15:06 Didn't say. Didn't say. And but not near like he was in, I think also in Queensland. But he goes, but I think they film the block in Victoria, which is just a couple of states over. Happens to the best of us, Jack. Jack's actually closer to the tattoo artist. Jack, you could go me, Hannah and her uncle. Georgia.
Starting point is 00:15:25 Georgia. We're so close. It sounds like we're getting hooked up with the block. So we'll see you soon at what time, Tone? 8pm on Channel 7 a block. Hi, I'm Olivia from Mountain Victoria. Jordan here from Dublin, Ireland. I'm LJ from Gold Coast Australia.
Starting point is 00:15:45 And you're listening to Tony and Ryan. A massive shout out to a few of our champion Tappers who are going to support us through our journey on the block. Yep. Megan Jacobson, might be Megan, might be Muggan, fucking who knows. Megan, Muggan, Mugin. When I meet a type of Megan, I always say sorry for all the different ways I've pronounced your name over the journey. Celine Gebhardt, good on you, Celine.
Starting point is 00:16:14 Abby Trotter. Megan Cleansing. Good on you, Megan, Megan, Mogan. Katrina Sirius, Cat, Isabel, Sarah Headley and Shaz Ryan Johnson. That name sounds a bit like your name. Shaz Ryan Johnson. Yeah. G'day, Shaz.
Starting point is 00:16:37 Ryan John. I'm a Johnson. You're a Johnson. Yep. Ryan John Johnson. Ryan John Johnson. Ryan John's Johnson. It's the family name, Johnson. I know. I've been invited to become a Johnson if I wanted. As if there aren't already enough names for me to contend with.
Starting point is 00:16:54 Well, where are we up to with the names, mate? I've just started writing misses on stuff. Like just the three letters, MRS. Like when I, well, because, like, if you fill in a form, whatever, is the only time that I ever have to really think about what my, last name is. Yep. So you just write Tony Mrs.
Starting point is 00:17:11 No, so I'm writing Mrs. Tony Lodge instead of Miss Tony Lodge. Oh, how's it feel? I mean, someone did call me Mrs Lodge the other day
Starting point is 00:17:18 and I was like, really? Yeah, other doctors, yeah. But any updates on the name? Haven't done anything, no.
Starting point is 00:17:24 Because I know what you do love is paperwork. I love admin. Yeah. Yeah. So that's a surprise for all of us. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:32 I just, who cares? Yeah. But also I kind of cares. That's where I'm struggling. In the world? Oh, it's me. Me. I'm the one who cares. And it's only really affects me.
Starting point is 00:17:42 So I'm the only one who has to care. Well, affects all of us. Yeah. Well, I know that you all support me, whatever I'm going to peer. I know, but it affects us deeply. Oh, it would too. Yeah, because you'll have to change your tattoos from Miss Tony Lodge to Mrs. Tony for something. Aren't they really clever when the tattoo artist, when they break up with someone and they've got like, I love Nathan tattooed on their ass and then they come up with a new design to like for not to say that anymore?
Starting point is 00:18:06 Yeah, like a cover up or. Yeah. But aren't they just so clever? Totally. And you're just like, oh, can't even tell Nathan's been in there now. So clever. What would you get a tattoo of? I'm considering, you know how Mabel wrote Dad and then put it on that, we put on that hat?
Starting point is 00:18:22 Oh, yeah. I think the scribble of Dad would be fun. That's cute. And I don't know if it's leaning too far into Nogroni town, but you know that drawing I've got a Nogroni in my front room? Yeah, I think that looks cool. Yeah. And I think that would be, that would be fun. That would be a cool tattoo as well.
Starting point is 00:18:37 Yeah. Yeah. Because you know how you can do? Lil has a few, like it, like the line drawing. And it's just kind of like a thin line drawing. Like, it's not like big like that, like mine. And they're quite subtle, but I think they look really cool. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:50 Yeah. So I probably do something like that. That's not. I could do it for you. I'm actually so busy. I could do it for you. That day. Yeah, I could do it.
Starting point is 00:18:59 I'll do it. Courtney obviously will like oversee, oversee, but I can do it. Thank you so much. You're welcome. For the offer. Moving right along. I posed a question to the Tarpers in our Patreon last week because something happened in my house
Starting point is 00:19:19 that gave me a little shimmy in the puss. Was it your husband? Well, Tops and I were talking, so we were watching something on TV and they like, you know when you're watching the news and they show like B-roll footage of like, oh, and tech is on the rise at fucking whatever. But they use just like old random footage.
Starting point is 00:19:38 And it's like of the first. iPhone or whatever it's like it's never something new that they've recorded in the office it's like they type in phones and this old fucking weird phone comes up they were saying something about that on on the telly and they show this weird footage and this photo of an old phone came up so this is the Nokia e 63 for anybody not watching it's like was the first phone aside from a blackberry that it had had like the full keyboard on the boat like the full quitted keyboard yeah it was the sickest phone. Like it was really, really cool. Weren't Nokia's the shit.
Starting point is 00:20:15 They were the phone. And Nokia was the brand. Yeah. And because after this. So this is like the E63 and then I think they brought out the E71, which was similar, but it was a bit more chic looking and they released it in white. And that was one of the first, you know, white. It was very cool. Yeah. Anyway, this phone comes up and I go, oh, I wanted that phone so bad as a teenager. Like, I would have been in year nine or year 10. I thought it was so. fucking sick and I remember asked my mom she's like you don't need a new phone like shut the fuck up and torbs goes oh I had that phone and I went oh what he's like yeah I had that phone he's like yeah I think I would have been like 17 or 18 or something I had it I was like oh okay
Starting point is 00:20:59 and that turned you on that you had a Nokia yeah but it just I was like oh my god you're cool like and it just made me feel it'll be like oh yeah and and so if a boy back in the day had that oh yeah I thought it was so cool. Yeah. I just thought it was so cool. And did you feel inferior with your, what I assume, was the 3310 or? No, I think at the time I had like a slide phone. Do you remember that?
Starting point is 00:21:20 Oh, okay. Do you remember those? Charles wasn't born in there. That's very true, actually. I love the slide phone because you like, split it up and you went, hello? Like, that's how you like, it was really cool. Oh, catch you later. Oh, and you like flicked it down.
Starting point is 00:21:32 Yeah, it was awesome. Anyway, so I posed a question into our Patreon and ask them Tappas to kind of like get around me and be like, what is something that you found out about your partner from like before you were together that really like gets you going. Yeah. It did kind of descend into just like Tapp was telling me what made them horny. But I think that's good answers also. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:54 Yeah. It did get a bit like that. Yeah. Yeah. And were you reading going, oh, that's nice for you? Or are you reading going, oh, okay. A bit of that. Yeah. And I think you'll be able to tell from the answer I chose.
Starting point is 00:22:05 Beck Bokenam, Tapa Beck says, my husband was a pro BMX racer. Hot. So as like a teenager, as a teenager, you know, racing BMX and Beck's like, and whenever we talk about it, I'm just like, oh, that's so fucking cool. The girls that used to hang out of the BMX track and watch the boys ride their bikes. Oh, a bit of that. They got it. There was like a bike jump.
Starting point is 00:22:27 This sounds so Perth. There was a bike jump that we built behind the shops in Rolling Stone. And they got to take, they knocked it down. Did they? Yeah. Didn't you tell us that? I don't think so. I think, well, they locked it or something.
Starting point is 00:22:42 Can't get in there any time. Oh, no, no, you can't go there anymore. I think that was me. Well, there was that one that, like, who else would I be talking about? A bike jumps behind the shops of Rolling Stone myth. It's so true. I think it's still there. I don't know, but there's also a skate park.
Starting point is 00:22:56 Like, there's two. It was a skate park. They closed it at 8 o'clock. Did that? No, that's the place where you make out with people. Yeah, that was true. Yeah. Zixagg.
Starting point is 00:23:04 Yeah. Same thing. Thanks for listening. Yeah. That's really sweet. Yeah. Thanks Charles though for no. that intimately.
Starting point is 00:23:11 Yeah. That's what we were talking about. Um, so fuck Beck, thank you for showing that. Uh, Mandy, Tapa Mandy.
Starting point is 00:23:18 My husband's a paramedic. And he will point out on me what vein he likes best. And it gets me every time. Isn't that a bit Dracula? So is that a bit. If they're like sitting next hotel or whatever, he's like, oh,
Starting point is 00:23:34 I love that one or whatever. Oh, yeah. Yeah, E12, sticking out. You 12. Yeah, E12. Yeah, E12. I don't think the veins have names do they?
Starting point is 00:23:43 I don't know. Just said it. Yeah. And it was cool. Yeah. That's a bit freaky. Okay. But I'm not a blood guy.
Starting point is 00:23:52 But is it also just like, oh, you're so good at your job? I don't know. Maybe I'm just like the fucking bar is in hell. Do you know what I mean? And it's like Joshua Miller, type of Joshua says anyone that knows what they're doing, he's like, when I go and get a coffee and see a barista just like, you know how they clang the milk thing down. and they're spraying the thing and they've got the towel over their shot.
Starting point is 00:24:12 He's like that anytime. Yeah. And that is true. That is true. When Bridget, before I knew how to use a fancy coffee machine, Bridget always knew how to make, and she goes. Because you've got to tighten that top thing right up.
Starting point is 00:24:23 Shut the fuck. Shut the fuck up. We had this coffee machine that one of our sisters destroyed. And Bridget has one sister and I'm a little child. You got to turn it right up. Anyway, but she knew how to use the fancy coffee machines. That's hot. And she was like, hey, do want me to make us?
Starting point is 00:24:41 coffee and I go and seeing her clanking the clankers and she just kind of when she's in the kitchen as well she kind of like moving around she knows her way around yes she doesn't step she glides she does that is very true um type of elsie this one i i'm elsie i've been with my wife for 10 years and she plays softball at a recent game her team won and she did a celebratory cartwheel Hot. And Elsie said, apparently, she's always been able to do that. And you never knew. We've been to it for 10 years and she just did this cartwheel and went like,
Starting point is 00:25:16 what the fuck? Well, Elsie, what do you think she was doing one second before that stand up 69? She got a cartwheel into it. Yeah, into that fake sex move. And out of it. Imagine not knowing your partner can cartwheel. What a crazy thing to find out about someone that you live with. I saw Maddie J do a backflip on Instagram the other night.
Starting point is 00:25:35 I saw that too. And he did it in a budgie smuggler. I can't believe his sack didn't pop out. I was nervous for the cameraman. Me too, who I think was Laura. But imagine going like, oh, I could do a backflip. I wonder if I still can. And just whipping that out.
Starting point is 00:25:48 Crazy. And doing the backflip. Babs, Charpa Bab says my husband is a diesel mechanic. That's hot already. And when I see that man wear his coveralls and wink at me, I'm dead. Dirty hands, the coveralls. Maybe when I saw that guy wearing overalls in the airport. Oh, you're a.
Starting point is 00:26:07 For no one. And it was just the Perth airport as well. So he was like on fly out day. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:15 Why'd you say like that? And a dirty working man would have been a BMX guy. Totally. They're the same guy. No, I agree with you. And he's got shit tats. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:24 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And he's FIFo, so he's got cash, but he just plays it down. Oh, yeah. But he's just like, you know, whatever. You just off to work.
Starting point is 00:26:31 You know what I mean? And in 300,000. There's a decent mechanic and fucking X for them. Per month. Yeah. Yeah. Finally, this is from Tapa Jennifer and this is Jennifer says,
Starting point is 00:26:42 A man who will open my drink for me and then hand it to me. She says, It sounds weird, but I dated someone who always opened my beer or lit my cigarette and then handed it to me. So he'd put the sticky in his mouth, light it and then pass it to her. And she said,
Starting point is 00:26:57 I asked him why once and he said, because a real man never hands a lady in unopened beer but opens it in front of her so that she knows it's safe. and knows it's fresh. I did that on the weekend. Bridget was having a few bruskees and I made myself drink and I was like, hey, let me get that for you.
Starting point is 00:27:14 That's nice. But I also think she's just got her nails done. Nice. And I was like, hey, no, no. Did she go to try everyone? No, she's gone local. Nice. Where does she go?
Starting point is 00:27:25 I have to text her. Like in Altham? Yeah. Nice. The same place. It's like Bob, but a different Bob. It's like a whole thingymy thinger. Oh, I don't think it's like a blow.
Starting point is 00:27:37 Blow. Like a blow bar that does nails, hair, like little... In all of them. Yeah. Oh, she's say Levy. Yeah. But she just got her nails done. I was like, you're not cracking a can.
Starting point is 00:27:47 Nah, and those new bad boys. That's sexy. Yeah. Well, I don't know. She was like, oh, thank you. I don't know how your story ended, but Jennifer says, let's just say someone got their dick sucked that night. No. Keep cracking those beers, dude.
Starting point is 00:28:00 But yeah. So it was just people telling me that they're horny. But in the comments, if you've got something that just, just fucking gets you going that your partner does or you found out about them. Yeah. I'd love to know because when I just thought it was just so cool. What are those? Low stakes.
Starting point is 00:28:14 You know? It's like low stakes shit. Bridget mentioned the other night that when she was younger, she always used to wear like, were they kind of like those fisherman pants, like those hippie kind of. Oh, yeah, yeah. And when she, because when she was like a free flowing traveler when she was younger and she's like,
Starting point is 00:28:29 yeah, I just wear those pants all the time. I was like, that's cool. That's fucking cool. That's fucking cool. That's so cool. That is good. Is that my love to see it? It can be if you want.
Starting point is 00:28:38 No, I got one from Tapa Bill. Hi, Bill. When we got married on a cruise, that's a crazy sentence. Crazy. International waters. Yeah, is it late? Does it count? What is that?
Starting point is 00:28:50 Yeah. Are you guys changing your last name? What's going on? I really wanted, like, custom lanyards for our guests because we had to go into this certain area where the wedding was, because obviously there was still a whole cruise happening. And they're like, oh, yeah, we can print out these little to, like, and they're like, no, Like, we want a nice one. That's really swear.
Starting point is 00:29:08 And it was something you can keep as well. Yeah. And then so they were like, they asked about them and the ship goes, oh yeah, we can print those out, blah, blah, blah. It's going to, in total, it's going to be $1,000. And they were like, wow. But you fucking mention the word wedding, isn't it? And fucking add an extra zero. And so Bill goes, well, no, I'm not going to do that.
Starting point is 00:29:27 I'm not paying that bill. But I've decided to buy a cricket. Do you get it? His name's Bill. Yeah. I've been inspired by a Tony Lodge and decided to buy a. cricket. And I've turned this into a small side hustle.
Starting point is 00:29:40 That's sick. I now make custom magnets and lanyards to sell to others going on cruisers. Bill, you could probably teach me how to use the cricket. I usually make about $100 to $150 per cruise and I use that at the cruise casino. That's like my free little fun gambling money. That is so good. So the little side hustle inspired by the cricket helped out their wedding. Everyone's a winner.
Starting point is 00:30:04 How fun to have a hobby. That's sick. Good on you, Bill. And also, when you mentally decide that it's free extra money, doesn't the casino just feel like, oh, charity? It's, I'm not losing anything. It's just like, yeah, I just made some money. It's if I buy something with cash.
Starting point is 00:30:21 Like, if I randomly end up with cash in my wallet or whatever, I'm like, oh, well, I've already paid for that. I've paid for that money already. Yeah. I went to this, like, kids market. It wasn't really a market. It was like lots of small. businesses that make kids clothing.
Starting point is 00:30:36 Oh yeah. Like a makers market kind of thing. Yeah. That's exactly what it was. Great. I'm familiar. And one of my friends had a stall there. So I was like, well, let's head down.
Starting point is 00:30:46 We'll buy some stuff. Phil's sister. Oh, cool. Shall I give a shout out? Absolutely. Because we bought some stuff there. Was it at the maker's market like the one in Carlton? Like next to the cinema?
Starting point is 00:30:57 It was in Diamond Creek. Oh, cool. But it's like specifically for like kids stuff. Sick. Um, I'm just let me scroll here. It is bare bottom threads. Amazing. And I heard her talking to one of the other people looking at it and she's like, oh,
Starting point is 00:31:15 that used to be an old tablecloth at a restaurant. So I bought that to use the pockets and I cut out some of this and made that. So they're all like, so Mabel's. Like upcycled clothes. Yeah. So Mabel's now got some shorts that are like one side's this color, the other side's that and they're all a bit fun and crazy. But because I knew I was going to this market and because I'm so fucking old, I was like,
Starting point is 00:31:34 oh are they all going to because they've all now got paywave and stuff but you never know so i was like i'm going to take some cash yeah so i put it in my pocket of my jacket why no it's just so funny the way that you like did an imaginary jacket just that you like lifted the fake jacket and put in like theater of the mind bought some stuff use card because everyone's got a card when you got a business shocker yeah um ended up going to uh the dally after and getting some drinks and snacks and blah, blah, blah, got home, went to the playground, put my hand in my pocket. Cash. Free money.
Starting point is 00:32:13 Free money. And I was like, oh, well. Now what can I do? The world is open. What are you going to buy? I'd mentally gone, well, that was, uh, yeah. What are you going to do with it? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:32:23 You could do anything. What should I do? Go get a tattoo. Normally I have to pay cash. How much is a tattoo? Depends. I'd say like, normally. Could I get one for a hundred bucks or under?
Starting point is 00:32:32 Yeah, normally you pay like the hourly rate. So if you get something small, it's normally that you pay. the hundred bucks or 90 bucks for the hour or whatever. Free money. Yeah. Go in there and find out. That's nice. Free money.
Starting point is 00:32:44 And then when people go, how much was your tattoo? You go free. Free. Found it in my jacket. Yeah. Who put it there? I did three hours earlier. But it's still free.
Starting point is 00:32:52 After getting it out of the bank because I was going to a market and I didn't realize I lived in 2026. But you never know. You never know. Because sometimes they take, have like a square thing, but they don't always. Yeah. Thank you for your support. I've got to you love to see it here.
Starting point is 00:33:06 And this is not just special because she's a Tapa. This is Tapa and Marie sent this through. But it's special because she's been nominated for an Oscar. What? An Oscar. And a proper Oscar? An Oscar. Am I about to get pranks?
Starting point is 00:33:23 No, I don't do that. We don't do that. Is it Anne-Marie who sung? No, Tapa and Marie. Yeah. And she started her own production company. So she lives in South Africa. Started her own production company, like working on film.
Starting point is 00:33:37 and has worked in theatre and stuff like that. And she recently worked on this film. It's called Variations on a Theme. I can share the trailer to the film and everything. Please. But she worked on this film and every year, every country gets like one film, like gets to like for free, submit one film. Right.
Starting point is 00:34:00 And so you kind of enter your film into, you know, submission. And then the country decides, which one is going forward. Yeah, right. And Anne-Marie's film is the one that is being nominated for an Oscar. Like, nominated to be... To win. No, it's in.
Starting point is 00:34:18 It's in. It's in. She's been nominated for an Oscar. So this film is like South Africa's film for the Oscars. It sounds like Eurovision. And they're all going to sing and hope for the best. The whole country has got together and... So it's like a small film.
Starting point is 00:34:36 Everyone in the film is first. time actors, she says. And the lead is played by like one of the director's grammar. Oh, so this is, yeah, that's the sum of the footage. This is the trailer. And it says, it's quite a special thing that this small community is now in the Oscars race. Absolutely crazy.
Starting point is 00:34:55 Amazing. So Anne-Marie was telling me that she's like, I'm just this fucking regular old girl. Like, I feel so, she's like, I've, you know, I've had a, like, a lot of on in my life. I've been bullied a lot in my life. Like it's been really hard for me to get to this point. I don't feel super comfortable like drawing attention to myself and backing myself in. Because you're getting all the attention now because you're fucking nominated for an Oscar.
Starting point is 00:35:19 Shame. Sorry about that. Yeah. She's like, I feel bad backing myself in. And she's like, and I just really have to stop and go like, this is actually really fucking cool. And I'm really proud. And she was like, you would not believe the thrill it is getting an email from the academy. because so I wouldn't believe. Yeah, I don't understand it. Yeah, you wouldn't understand. Yeah, I don't.
Starting point is 00:35:41 So I've known this for a couple of months and I wasn't allowed to say anything. You've been sitting on a sleeper. I, yeah. And Anne-Marie said to me, like, no, you can finally announce. Like, because obviously they've been going through all this stuff in the background. And because when it got submitted, they didn't know where it was actually going to be nominated. Yeah. Yeah, and just unbelievable.
Starting point is 00:36:00 We're going to the Oscars. We haven't been invited. But as a community, we are, we're on our way. Isn't that amazing? You're like not really saying very much. No, I'm, I'm stuck because, yeah. Isn't it amazing? Is it fair to say the Oscars is, is it?
Starting point is 00:36:18 The thing. Is it, eh? That's it. Yeah, there's no like, oh, yeah, an Oscar, but the main one was like. It's an Oscar. If she wins, she will have the same amount of Oscars as Leonardo DiCaprio. at the time of recording this because you never know like how many he's going to win
Starting point is 00:36:40 yeah that's unbelievable hey so I think we should go to support her I don't know if we're going to get invited oh we're here for support yeah we could go to the red carpet I think punters are allowed to just do that I in the stands and stuff and we'll just be fan boys
Starting point is 00:36:56 maybe we could be seat killers you know how down the front when Meryl's street has to get up so someone's going to sit in her spot we could do that we could meet Ryan Seacrest You're joking. We could meet Amelia Van Daldenberg. She does the red carpets now. What else could we do?
Starting point is 00:37:11 Clam pot. Glam bot? We could go to In and Out Burger, the Hollywood one afterwards. And then after that we could go back to our accommodation and fall down the stairs. No. Yeah. See, we won't do that again. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:26 Well, let's just talk about stairs. No stairs. Well, then how would you get down, Charles? Might just be out. Might not be down. Might just be out. You know what I'm saying? I think about it.
Starting point is 00:37:37 Sunday, March 14. I think that we're losing sight of Anne-Marie getting nominated for an Oscar. She's our only sight. I'm looking at nothing else on March 14 or the three days leading up and the status credits of it cost us to get there. That's Anne-Marie. There's Anne-Marie! Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:37:55 She's a fucking tarpa. Do you know what I? Like, that is fucking crazy. So it's Best International Feature Film is what it's nominated for That's unbelievable And Marie Best International Feature
Starting point is 00:38:08 And we'll put the That's fucking sent me We'll put the YouTube link To the trailer So you can watch the trailer Is that better than an ACRA? I don't know if it's better than a Webby But it's better than an ACRA
Starting point is 00:38:23 Fuck an ACRA Fuck the CRA It's commercial radio Australia Eat my pussy How many ACRA is you on? None Um, all right. Anne Marie, honestly, unbelievable.
Starting point is 00:38:39 Can we just call today's episode Anne Marie? Yeah. Tarp are nominated for an Oscar. We're going to the Oscars. I like it. We've done it. Oh, fuck, take the rest of the day off. Love you, everyone.
Starting point is 00:38:51 What started with us trying to get a hook up with the block has ended us in Hollywood at the Oscars. Hollywood. And how many she would. And how many Oscars has Scotty Cam won? None. Talk about it. Speak to it.
Starting point is 00:39:08 That's my equivalent of your talk about it. That's very funny. Speak to it. Yeah, speak to it. Speak to it. Speak to it. Talk about it. Love you, bye.
Starting point is 00:39:21 Yeah. Say, do you have one? Say it. Say it. Yeah, talk about it. Love you. Bye. I love being a tarpa.
Starting point is 00:39:29 Same. It's the best. That's the greatest joy of my life. Oh, being a father's okay. You were a good dad. Did you see everyone in Facebook group gassing you out the other day? Saying that they love seeing you talk about Mabel and style. I didn't, but Bridget saw it and she said it made her feel good.
Starting point is 00:39:43 It was really sweet. All right, love you, everyone. Oh, we're still on? Oh, love you. Bye. Bye.
