I'm Mike from torontomike.com. And joining me this week, live from TMLX8 at Great Lakes Brewery, for our 76th and final Pandemic Friday, are Cam Gordon and Stu Stone.
Starting point is 00:02:33 Wow. Okay, so for those who aren't here live, Cam and Stu are not here. I'm here alone. I feel naked in front of you all. Cam Gordon, I'm not quite sure where he's hiding out. And Stu Stone, LA Stu, as I call him, appears to be late for this pandemic finale. So a few quick housekeeping notes. I just want to thank Great Lakes Brewery for hosting this event. This is like literally
Starting point is 00:02:59 the first thing that's happened on this patio for the public since 2019 they actually opened this patio september 2nd so this is awesome that they're doing this for us so round of applause for great lakes brewery not only for hosting this event on this beautiful night but i believe everybody's first pour of fresh craft beer was on the hizzle. So shout out again. I know you did your round of applause. Do it again. Great Lakes Brewery.
Starting point is 00:03:33 And I hope everybody came hungry. I'm looking around. We have fresh palma pasta that has been delivered. Actually, the godfather, Anthony Picucci's son delivered this about half an hour ago. And there's enough to feed every FOTM who's going to be at this event today. So
Starting point is 00:03:53 shout out and thanks and much love to Palma Pasta for the food. Thank you, Palma. And we'll do this off the top, of course course Toronto Mike doesn't happen without sponsors like stickeru.com I have some Toronto Mike stickers here Mike Majeski he's ripping up the Mimico real estate scene Ridley Funeral Home I'm hoping Brad Jones drops up by later and of course McKay CEO forums and I want to thank every FOTM who chose to spend their Friday night here with us.
Starting point is 00:04:27 I'm sorry that I don't have Stu stone yet. I'm hoping he shows up at some point and who knows where cam Gordon is, but thank you guys for being here. Awesome. Awesome. Hello, everyone. No one knew I was here. No one saw me before. You should have wore like a...
Starting point is 00:05:11 I told you, wear like a Ronald Reagan mask or something. Like a six foot five Ronald Reagan. Very subtle. So for those of us who aren't big wrestling guys, what are we hearing now? What was this entrance music? Well, does anyone know what the name of this song is? Does anyone in band class?
Starting point is 00:05:32 Like it's the Great Geats of Kiev? Oh, there you go, ripping up the... Okay, so that's wild. Okay, a giant truck in the know and mimic arrived. Maybe Stu's in there, but I'm sorry to interrupt, Cam. No, this is exciting. No. Wow.
Starting point is 00:05:51 Wow. I was excited when Hebsey showed up, but Mike Majewski's here. This is like when Zanta used to come to the window at like breakfast television and stuff. Like, this is awesome. You know, he's down the street. He might show up as well. Yeah, well, he... This guy's ripping it up in Tobago, I've heard, week after week. I gotta let people
Starting point is 00:06:09 know right away, though, that Peter Gross... I told him 6 o'clock, but he had something he had to do. So Peter Gross promises he's gonna ride in on a horse or something. The Queen's Plate winner, he's gonna ride in. And it's gonna be awesome. But Cam, thanks for being here.
Starting point is 00:06:25 No problem. Is Gallagher coming? Do you fly him in? Oh, I do. I should start the Zoom link. You never know who's going to show up there. But I got to say, I'm disappointed in our co-host, Stewstone. Well, like, Stew's like, petulant.
Starting point is 00:06:41 I mean, we know that. Like, I'm not surprised but he also... I mean, you know that. Like, I'm not surprised but he also... I mean, you remember when it was like cold and... Wait. What is this music? What the heck? I have no control over the music that plays here. Why is your finger on that button though?
Starting point is 00:07:01 You know, this can only mean one thing. I mean, this right here. I couldn't work out better. I knew you wouldn't let me down, buddy Toto entrance I've been hiding behind that fucking sign For like an hour and a half Every one of you walked by me I was hiding, I was crouching, I had to pee But we made it work, Mike
Starting point is 00:07:43 We made it work Pandemic Friday finale, man. I was getting angry. You were late. But this is better. This is amazing. So thanks for being here. Do you recognize this young lady?
Starting point is 00:07:54 I do. You're in the front row. We have another surprise. My mother, Trudy, sitting front row. Okay, you want me to blow your mind? Guess who your mother is sitting beside. Who's she sitting beside? My mother!
Starting point is 00:08:06 What? This is what we've always dreamed of. It's happening. Maybe they'll hit it off. I was going to say you need Linda Gordon's music. It could be like Andrew Lloyd Webber. I smell a new podcast. Stu, thanks for being here.
Starting point is 00:08:23 It's the 76th Pandemic Friday, and it's the final Pandemic Friday, where basically this is like a funeral. Ridley funeral, yes. Yes. Too easy, but thanks for being here, buddy. Thanks for not letting me down. No, I never would.
Starting point is 00:08:42 How are things? You two, update us on how you're doing because I do want to start a Zoom on this because there might be somebody who Zooms in to say hello. Is it the person that flaked on you the other two times? Garvia? It's not Garvia? No, if Garvia wants on this show,
Starting point is 00:08:59 she's going to have to show up at TMLX8 like all these fine people. Does she get pasta? You know what? Yes, she does. That's the kind of guy I am. Why not? Well, there's so much extra. So what do you guys think of this crowd? This is amazing, guys.
Starting point is 00:09:12 This is a turnout, man. It's a perfect, fitting way to end Pandemic Fridays than have a super spreader event like this. This is perfect. This is like Sturges of New Toronto. This is awesome. So is that the plan? You're going to ignite the virus so you have to keep going?
Starting point is 00:09:29 I'm sitting over here, man. I'm good. Okay, here we go. I just want this open. It's possible. If you guys hear a bell, you'll hear it in the speakers. So many people I want to thank off the top. There's a fourth mic right here.
Starting point is 00:09:43 I'm the first mic. And there's a fourth mic right here. And everybody who first mic. And there's a fourth mic right here. And everybody who wants to is going to be invited to spend a couple of minutes on this microphone and let us know I don't know, like, you loved Pandemic Fridays, you hated Pandemic Fridays, you don't know what the hell we're talking
Starting point is 00:09:57 about, but you heard there was free beer and there was free pasta. Like, just complete real talk. Anybody. But the first person I just want to have on the mic, because I want to thank them, there's a few of these guys, but is Al Grego in the house? Is Al Grego here?
Starting point is 00:10:17 Finally! Face to face. What do you got to say now, brother? Well, you know me and Gene, I'm finally here to confront Stu Stone, the legendary Stu Stone. What you gonna do, Stu? Grego!
Starting point is 00:10:31 I forgot about your feud. Okay, so this is... It ended. This is because it ended amicably. We actually are dating now. This is to remind people who it's been 76 weeks, but we used to have... We do.
Starting point is 00:10:43 We have best ofs every 250 episodes and al decided and i agreed with his decision that pandemic fridays were exempt much like the elvis episodes were exempt and stew took it very personally very personally i mean this is the best of toronto mike i mean let's be honest here why would we not be included in the best of yeah who would have thought that an actor who fucked off to california be such a snowflake this is like the roast of students i like it pretty good time here trudy do five minutes yeah wait till i get trudy on that microphone but i want to thank you al because uh you know when i got here at approximately 5 p.m to set up everything you were already here setting up the speakers,
Starting point is 00:11:26 and I just want to say that's above and beyond. I love that I can rely on you every time we do a live recording like this to set up the speakers and be here to help with the audio. So thank you from the bottom of my heart. That's why when I was on Hebzeon Sports this morning, which, by the way, everybody should subscribe to Hebzeon Sports. It's fantastic. I was wearing proudly my ProduStand
Starting point is 00:11:47 t-shirt. Did you see that? Yes, thank you very much for that, Mike. And by the way, Stu's my new co-host on ProduStand. That's the big announcement. It's coming. Don't bury the lead. Well, when Bob Willett gets here, there might be another announcement. He's over there celebrating the anniversary of all these Pearl Jam
Starting point is 00:12:04 releases that have come out. It's my future boss right there. Okay, well, hold that fire. Hold that fire. So, Al, thanks for going to Bum Beyond, and thank you for being one of the three people left who have been to all eight TMLX events. I think we're down to two.
Starting point is 00:12:17 Oh, no. That's huge. We've got three still. Damn it. Yep, there's three. Who are the other ones? Okay, well, we're going to talk to them later, but Rush Mike and Michael Lang
Starting point is 00:12:25 join Al Grego in that exclusive group. Michael was supposed to cut Michael's brakes, and he didn't do it, so. That's murder. Faking a murder, by the way. Available now. Oh, I have, take one of these Hollywood Suite. What?
Starting point is 00:12:42 Yes, so David Kines from Hollywood Suite sent over this to give away to everyone in attendance here. Yes. So David Kines from Hollywood Suite sent over this to give away to everyone in attendance here. So thank you, Al. I'm booting you off because we're going to move along quickly
Starting point is 00:12:51 because I see a gentleman I'd like to get on the mic because he's not here. He's here for a good time, not a long time. It's humble Howard Glassman at this event. Where's his theme song?
Starting point is 00:13:02 Oh, it would be Steely Dan. I'm a little nervous. Like he brought bagels. Oh, it would be Steely Dan. Like he brought bagels. Oh, Dana style. Oh, Dana. Hello. Hello. I get a little nervous in front of people.
Starting point is 00:13:18 Congratulations. I came here to celebrate the end of the pandemic. Thank you very much. This is not what we're doing? No fourth wave. I brought you guys a little present. Wow. Is it weed?
Starting point is 00:13:35 It's a retirement Sherpa Humble and Fred mug. Hey, I drink coffee. Don't forget the retirement Sherpa.ca. Thank you. This is awesome. Thank you. This is great. I'm so happy to be here.
Starting point is 00:13:49 Monica, seriously, I'm so sorry. Okay? I said hi to Monica. Hey, Monica. I said, how you doing? Happy birthday. She just looked at me. I went, it's been a long time. She goes, yeah. Yeah, it has. I just want to say I'm sorry. I was drinking a little bit too much at the time
Starting point is 00:14:06 Pandemic what is it Tim? This is the last one This is the final one, 76th I just want to wish you the best and congratulate all of you for showing up, supporting this little angel boy Mike and these two other sweet people Howard
Starting point is 00:14:21 Is that it? No, I think there's like a big round for you. I mean, we had some great special guests over the weeks. He hung around. He didn't hang around that long, actually. Well, long enough to make an impression on me. There was parenthetical jams, and he knocked it out of the park. That was Mama Told Me Not to Come.
Starting point is 00:14:38 Do you remember the song you played? Probably not. No. Mama Told Me Not to Come. Oh right right Three dog night How is everyone? Cause here's the
Starting point is 00:14:48 I guess I'm assuming We're all vaccinated Is that what's happening? Cause on the way over here I had an excitement dump I'm not gonna lie Thinking Yeah
Starting point is 00:14:55 I did I'm like vaccinated And evacuated Yeah I just wrote that Fucking joke so I'm just so happy The pandemic is over now Because
Starting point is 00:15:04 Cause Mike said so You know I'm Here's what I'm just so happy the pandemic is over now because Mike said so, you know, I'm here's what I'm looking forward to. I'm so tired of anti-vaxxers. Here's my thing. Because the latest I heard this week is someone saying, I don't know what's in it. I don't know what's in anything. I don't know what's in milk, for God's sake. My doctor gave me a pill. It makes my stomach feel better. Thank you. Do you know what's in the beer? No. The poma pasta looks pretty good, though.
Starting point is 00:15:31 Who would be anti-pasta? No one. All right. Well, that's all I've prepared. What else do we do now? Can I just say thank you very much for inviting me? That was fantastic. All right. I'm so glad you're here. It thank you very much for inviting me? That was fantastic. All right.
Starting point is 00:15:45 I'm so glad you're here. It was a long commute for you. Yes, it was. Now I'm going to put on this voice, which I almost never do. Yes. Because I'm giving myself a warm feeling right now. God damn it. How great is it that Mark Hebster is here with his new daughter, and she's amazing.
Starting point is 00:16:02 Huge. I literally walked up and I said, can I say hi to your dad? Listen, screw you guys. I had 10 years of those jokes. Look at Monica. Why do you hate me so much, Monica? She's just as looking at me like,
Starting point is 00:16:19 God damn it, I hate Jewish people. It's not a big deal. We get it. It's not specifically you. No, I know. It's all of us. It's all of us. No, I know. It's all of us. It's all of us. Yeah, I think she hates me too then.
Starting point is 00:16:27 That's why Jews, we're always a little bit nervous. We're like, okay, is it time to go yet? Me and Stu are like, that's why we're sitting over here in case the bus shows up. I was going to say, this is a coincidence, everyone's seat. Yeah, you know, me and Stu aren't very comfortable with you white people. Yeah. I just want to say congratulations, Toronto Mike. You're a more diligent and hardworking podcaster and producer of podcasts.
Starting point is 00:16:53 And he's a very lucky man. Look at you, Monica. 20 years his junior, an amazing conversationalist. Stu, I've never loved you more. Cam, I find you very tall. Thank you very much, ladies and gentlemen. Thank you, Howard. Again, everybody, Humble and Fred are live Monday through Thursday every morning.
Starting point is 00:17:14 They're on their Facebook page. You can subscribe to the podcast. It's fantastic content. So subscribe to Humble and Fred. Does she really hate him? Okay, well, there's a back story that some will know and some don't. But Howard was at my wedding and made a...
Starting point is 00:17:28 This is back when Howard drinks. He doesn't drink anymore. But Howard made a speech in which he insulted the Filipino community that was in the room. And they all... It happens.
Starting point is 00:17:40 So I think Howard's banned from visiting the Philippines. This was like in the 70s or something. This was like eight years ago. Eight years ago. But yeah, so he's been trying to make amends. On that note, Mazel Tov, eight years. That's we can spin it.
Starting point is 00:17:55 There you go. That deserves it. We'll give it up. So thank you, Howard. So everybody, I'm going to get as many people on the fourth mic as possible, even though we have to wind this down by 830. So we're going to keep it moving. I see so many faces.
Starting point is 00:18:11 Where do I go to next? So many people I want to go to next. But there's a gentleman in a New York Yankees hat who is – that's you. Do you want to jump on? Okay. So this gentleman – I don't even want to say his name yet. Yeah, come on. Come on.
Starting point is 00:18:24 This is a legend. This person is a key fixture on Pandemic Fridays, but has never been on a mic before. Ron Guidry. Okay. Bojana, everybody. There she is. Hi. This is the famous Kareem.
Starting point is 00:18:42 Kareem. Kareem. How are you, buddy? Hello. Kareem. Kareem. Kareem. How are you, buddy? Hello, hello. Kareem, thanks for being here. It's like old times, Kareem. It is. Now I got a microphone.
Starting point is 00:18:55 Finally. We've been waiting for the last episode to give him a mic. Well, we weren't sure when he got vaccinated. We were trying to keep it safe and everything. But yeah, I thought it's about time we get you on an episode of Pandemic Friday so it only took 76 weeks but you're on the mic and I just want to say even though you're not
Starting point is 00:19:11 always heard by the public you're always heard by us and we love your contributions we love it when you yell at us we love the odor that we enjoy every Thursday night the fragrance but thank you thank you not only for being a part of Pandemic Fridays, but also because your wife is coming?
Starting point is 00:19:32 Apparently, yes. I'll get her on the mic when she arrives. Wait, can I ask him a question before you wrap him up? Yeah, of course. You live next door. This is like the guy on Home Improvement that can look over the fence type of deal. You look over and you see this guy's got a bunch of fucking weirdos in his backyard all the time talking.
Starting point is 00:19:49 What is your impression when you... What made you think, oh, okay, this is okay? You know what I mean? It was like the little rascals for me. When you guys first appeared, I remember I was in my backyard. The knothole gang. I was in my backyard I was in my backyard And then I heard some voices
Starting point is 00:20:07 And I looked over and I was like oh my god There's three dudes in the backyard next to me Drinking beer and talking shit And I just immediately I felt like a kid I was like oh my god There's Alfalfa and Spanky They got the first meeting of the He-Man
Starting point is 00:20:22 Women haters going on Oh I'm so joining. This is a serious question. Because you've owned that place like two years or something? Less. A year. A year. A year. Did you have a home inspection? And if you did, did they tell you, hey, this guy's got
Starting point is 00:20:37 fucking Murray McLaughlin, Gino Vannelli, Denise Donlan. Everyone's fucking going in the base. We don't know why. Like reports. Like I'm serious because it's fine. It's kind of in the base. We don't know why. Like, I'm serious, because it's fine. It's kind of weird, but like, did they tell you something's going on next door? Famous people? Like, is it sort of a
Starting point is 00:20:53 QAnon thing? I was told nothing by the realtor. You should have used Mike Majeski. Yeah, you know what? Next time, use Mike Majeski. He's in the know. I heard it was Sammy Cohn. I mean, you know, get out of here.
Starting point is 00:21:08 Sammy's not here. He's not drumming up the results we need. Majeski's the man. There you go. Ripping it up. Shout out to Mike Majeski in the know.
Starting point is 00:21:16 Realestatelove.ca. I think we waited too long to get this guy on mic. He's gold. Did you get yourself some pasta? I did, yes. Okay. Honestly, I could talk to you all night. I'm going to burn
Starting point is 00:21:28 through some stuff and then maybe definitely your wife's getting on that mic and then stick around because we'd love to get you back. But thank you for being a part of Pandemic Fridays, buddy. Thank you. Thanks for not calling the cops on Pandemic Friday. Those are some illegal gatherings we were having.
Starting point is 00:21:44 Is Jay Brody the 102.1 morning show here? Is Jay Brody here? That's when I call a name. Is Jay Brody here? Jay Brody from 102.1 The Edge. Is this another surprise theme song? All right, I saw him, and maybe he'll be back here. I think you need to play some Gowan like they do on 102.1,
Starting point is 00:22:09 and maybe he'll come out. Jay will confirm. Does Mark Hebbshire have a moment to jump on this point, Mike? Yeah, he does. Yeah, he does. Everybody should have entrance music, Mike. It's a lot of work to coordinate that. Hebbsy, what's up, man?
Starting point is 00:22:26 How are you? How are you? How you doing, buddy? I haven't seen you in a long time. I'll play the part of Jay Brody if you want, since you couldn't get him. I saw him. And I was nearby, right? I doubt the situation would be the same if it was reversed, that you would call Jay Brody if I wasn't available.
Starting point is 00:22:42 Ladies and gentlemen, the host of Hepsey on Sports, Mark Hebbshire. Huge. Hi. Hi, everyone. Thanks. Thanks for all that. Thanks for Humble Howard for setting the table for tonight. Wow.
Starting point is 00:22:56 He got three good minutes in, didn't he? He's like a comic. He got everybody, didn't he? Jews, Muslims, LGBTQ, golfers, podcast listeners, producers, his neighbors. It's a good place to work out new material. No, you're kidding. It's ephemeral. It's open here.
Starting point is 00:23:13 Speaking of new approaches, Hebsey, I don't know how new this is, but recently on your show, the filter is off. You've been kicking serious ass on there, man. I've got to applaud you, man. It's about time. Shout out to Hebsey, of course. What a great podcast. Did you just start listening? I've been kicking ass for years. But I'm saying now you're really
Starting point is 00:23:30 talking shit. Now I'm taking names. Yeah, I like it. I was gonna say the Buck Martinez scoop. I saw like Andrew Stoughton. Like everyone was all over that. Any updates? Yeah, he still isn't vaccinated and is not planning on getting vaccinated and has a contract this year where he can do the games from Floridaida doesn't matter where they're being played he can
Starting point is 00:23:48 just sit in florida at least he's in a safe place florida yeah i'm sure that much safer than toronto i'm sure there's been no discussions in his neighborhood about masking or anything like that or hasn't been for probably a year and a half it's florida right so but anyway yeah so he's calling the games for florida and not sounding good because he's not there. Yeah. I find it difficult. I don't know about you. If he's hundreds of miles away and not sitting there,
Starting point is 00:24:13 how could he possibly have any advantage that he's going to relay to the viewing audience? Well, I think when we've literally got Dan Shulman, the great Thornhill's own Dan Shulman. True. In this actual city, and we're not hearing more of him. It's just like a crime,
Starting point is 00:24:28 and I get Shulman has his own stuff he's doing with ESPN. ESPN pays much better, too. And, listen to this, he doesn't have to travel. He can just do it from home for ESPN. Wait, Shulman can? Well, why is it okay for him to do that? What, did I get here before you or something? How am I supposed to know?
Starting point is 00:24:46 I don't know. Stu, I don't know these things. Fair, fair. Stu, any chance of that Sportsline documentary coming out of 5-7? I mean, why not? I would love to work with Hebsey. And you know what? Really, the thing that elevated Pandemic Friday and made it from this cute kind of idea that we had
Starting point is 00:25:02 and made it into a real show was when Mike started using your drop. And you don't understand. You didn't see Cam and I's face, but when we heard it for the first time, we both lit up like, oh my God, it's Hep C. We were so excited. More than happy to be the voice of Pandemic Friday.
Starting point is 00:25:17 And quite frankly, I'll be sad to lose the royalties now after 76 weeks. It's going to hurt. We're going to have to find another income stream. Pennies on the dollar. More like penny on the dollar. Poma pasta. He's the pro.
Starting point is 00:25:32 He's the pro. Nice one. What a turn of phrase. So, Hebsey, I've been seeing you every Friday morning for years now, but due to the pandemic, you've been doing it from your home basement. I feel like you, like Buck Martinez, you should come on site for Hebsey on Sports. You know that. Why are you doing that to me?
Starting point is 00:25:49 Making me look like a bad guy. You know that I'm biking over there for like a double show in a couple of weeks, right? Yeah, that's true. There's going to be a sports show. I'm doing my show, our show, Hebsey on Sports. And then we're recording a version of a Toronto Mike show. Yeah. A special edition.
Starting point is 00:26:06 A sports media roundtable. That's right. A sports media roundtable. Deep dive. I understand. I'm not going to be a part of those. No, no, no. So who said you weren't going to be a part of it?
Starting point is 00:26:13 No, no. Mike, he would have. You'll be filling in for the morning man who didn't make it for this slot here. Perfect. I took over for him. I'll take it. You got his spot at the comedy shop. He's number seven tonight.
Starting point is 00:26:22 He's on at 1045. After Humble Hill. Yeah. Jay, I forget his name now because he was... Jay Brody. Right. He'll be... I saw... I... Jay, what the hell? Why am I filling in for you here? Jay, bro, don't make me slum it with Hebsey man here. Come on, buddy.
Starting point is 00:26:37 He went for a toke in the car. No, that's not a problem. I have no problem with that. He just missed his spot. Hebsey, have I ever told you what an honor it is for me to co-host Hebsey on Sports? Never. I want to say it now for the first time. You're so good at what you do, and it really is the sports, especially the Toronto-centric vantage point.
Starting point is 00:26:58 It is the Toronto sports podcast, and I'm just so excited. I get to actually be a part of it. That's amazing. So I love what you do and keep doing what you do. Thanks man. Appreciate it. But I wouldn't be able to pull it off unless I had a mental case sports fanatic like you,
Starting point is 00:27:13 all Toronto teams, only producer in the corner, all the Toronto teams. It's perfect. That's what I need. I need someone, everyone like you, who's nuts about Toronto teams and knows nothing about any other team.
Starting point is 00:27:23 Doesn't care. That's the best part of it, right? You don't care anything about the Houston assholes or the Los Angeles Dodgers or anything like that. Your teams are my teams. The Leafs, the Blue Jays, the Raptors, sometimes TFC. Yeah, sometimes. Occasionally the Argos. The big Argos.
Starting point is 00:27:39 And wait a second, that rugby team that we used to have that was so good for two years. The Lynx? No, they're in Queensland now or something. They're in Greenland now, I forget. I took you to some Wolfpack matches. You did. Those were great. Remember those days?
Starting point is 00:27:54 Honestly, it was fantastic. And biking together, and how about that Raptors championship parade? I went to a parade with him. Amazing, amazing. The one I sabotaged? Does your girlfriend want to come on the mic? Yes or no sabotaged. Does your girlfriend want to come on the mic? Yes or no? Serena, do you want to come on the mic?
Starting point is 00:28:10 Yes or no? No, she's turning it down. Yeah, the pictures that I take of the golf course whenever I'm at Crosswinds, that's Serena. She's the subject. Wow. She's my subject. She's kind of famous herself. She makes you look like a great golfer. Yeah famous herself. She makes you look like a great photographer.
Starting point is 00:28:26 Yeah, yeah. She makes me look taller than I am. There you go. Taller than I really am, yeah. Maybe I should get her to take some photos of me, if that's okay. Yeah, there you go. She has that neck. New headshots.
Starting point is 00:28:35 Let's do it. Mark Hebbs here, everybody. Subscribe to Hebbsy on Sports. Thanks, Mike. Thanks for having me. Appreciate it. Honestly, thanks for being here, man. Cam and Stu, I'm sorry to not... I don't know what I'm going to do with my Fridays, besides for having me. Appreciate it. Honestly, thanks for being here, man. Cam and Stu, I'm sorry to not,
Starting point is 00:28:46 I don't know what I'm going to do with my Fridays, besides my own podcast. What am I going to do? What am I going to listen to? I don't know. See, that's what we're looking for. More of the begging us to keep going, or crying even,
Starting point is 00:28:57 Oh, no, let's not go that far. I just said, what am I going to do? I'm sure I'll find something. It was a rhetorical question. Thanks, guys. Hebsey, baby. Hebsey, everybody. Mark Hebseer. Mark Hebseer. It was a rhetorical question. Thanks, guys. Hebsey, baby. Hebsey, everybody. Mark Hebseher.
Starting point is 00:29:06 Love him. Mark Hebseher. That was great. This is incredible. Your mom looks like she's having a good time so far, Mike. More than my mom. Mary, are you having a good time? No.
Starting point is 00:29:14 Is Trudy a nice lady beside you? Are you guys hitting it off? Imagine they weren't. Later you tell me, oh, my mom hated your mom. I'm serious. We should call my mom and like get these moms to talk to my mom where is your mom right now?
Starting point is 00:29:28 she's fucking home like everyone else get her ass over here we're going till 830 she might have time I thought I saw this like mirage in the distance I said oh that's Jay Brody from 102.1 The Edge and then like I called for Jay Brody and I look like a fool like am I seeing things
Starting point is 00:29:44 my visibility Jason today guys well yeah with that shirt how do called for Jay Brody and I look like a fool. Here he is. Am I seeing things? My visibility Jason today, guys. Well, yeah, with that shirt, how do you miss Jay Brody? That's a bright orange shirt. Jay, how you doing, buddy? Feeling good. Thank you for having me. This is a lovely turnout. Did you get your free beer? I'm going to have one afterwards. Your first is on the house, then it's five bucks a pop.
Starting point is 00:29:59 And this is a chance for me to remind everyone you can hear me, including the great Mark Carey. Did you run here? Yes or no? No, he didn't run here. We got to talk when he gets on the mic. He just ran 100 miles. Not kilometers, miles. Like the song?
Starting point is 00:30:11 I would run 100 miles. Yeah. Sorry. Make sure you get some palma pasta, too. The red boxes. Help yourself. It's still hot, man. Amazing.
Starting point is 00:30:21 How's life? How are things going at 102.1? Yeah. It is a late night for me right now, Mike. We start our day early, but it's been fun. It's a great time. We're having a good time. I'm grateful for all your support because
Starting point is 00:30:34 when I get fired, I'm going to have to do an interview after as soon as that's over. Look me in the eye. You promised your exit interview is going to be on track. I hope he never has to do one. What the hell is that? Should we book it now? It'll be never. It'll be never.
Starting point is 00:30:48 You get the first interview always. There's a lot of media changes. We just had Gurdeep resign from his CP24 post. Pooja Handa also did the same, and now they're going to resurface as new hosts of the 102.1 Morning Show. This news brought to you by Ridley Funeral Home. Oh, damn it.
Starting point is 00:31:09 No, I do think it'll be chorus, though. That's just speculation. Okay. I do think it'll be chorus. But not 102.1. Can we ask the important questions? Go ahead. Have you guys ever played a Gowan song on 102.1?
Starting point is 00:31:19 Gowan? Yes. No. We don't have control over the music. If you did have control, though. Let's throw some Gowan up. Why not? I control, though. Let's throw some Gowan up. Why not? Let's do some Gowan.
Starting point is 00:31:27 Criminal mind. But Alan Cross did confirm this. I think Alan did. But he wasn't there. Yeah, he was there. This time he was. I don't know. Alan is amazing.
Starting point is 00:31:38 He kind of gets to do his own thing. They give him like, he can play anything at any time. Alan Cross has the key to Chorus Central. Well, I think he says like The Who is his favorite band of all time. Like he's been on record saying that, which is kind of shocking. Yeah. It's going to ruin his reputation. I love that we get the...
Starting point is 00:31:58 I know, I think that's Alan Cross. He's got those fast cars, right? Alan heard his name. Shout out to Tracy Chutman. And again, remind us, who's co-hosting that morning show with you? Myself, Shauna, Shauna Whalen, who was on. We were on your show back when we were in Hamilton, part of the morning grind. Right, 108.
Starting point is 00:32:16 Y108. And then Chris Z as well. And is there any truth to the rumor that you got the 102.1 job because you were so good on Toronto Mike? That's exactly what they said. That's also why they cut my pay substantially. The first offer came in real low. Like, listen, you got the job because of Toronto Mike, but this is all we're going to pay you because you did Toronto Mike for lasagna. As a fellow radio personality who's been offered a job in radio recently, how do you feel about the Kingston market?
Starting point is 00:32:45 Is that a good market? Are you in Kingston? Let me be very honest with you. This is the thunder that belongs to Bob Ouellette. I can see him over there. Not yet. I'm holding on to this. He's lurking. Bob Ouellette is, as you know, a chorus program director in Kingston, Ontario. I want to talk to him. You don't know this.
Starting point is 00:33:03 He's like the farm system. When they get a stew stone, let's say, in Kingston. Kingston. They nurture stew stone in Kingston. Then they bring them to Toronto to take over for you guys. No. Yeah, no, it's fine. Come on.
Starting point is 00:33:16 I literally think Al Greco is like signing a contract. You're going to have to replace all the chairs. I'll give you a heads up. Do you have any intel on someone named Monica in the morning? Monica in the morning? He's Toronto. He doesn't know what's going on. Maybe he knows.
Starting point is 00:33:35 They're colleagues. Okay. The brotherhood. This is a surprise to Cam and it's a surprise for Stu and it's even a surprise for Jay Brody. Stay on that mic for a moment. Is Bob here to fire me? Is that what's happening right now? There's a camera over there. And it's even a surprise for Jay Brody. Stay on that mic for a moment. Is Bob here to fire me? Is that what's happening right now?
Starting point is 00:33:47 There's a camera over there. Does he have that power? Does he have that power? I think I see the HR guy in the bush. This is bad. Like Chris Hansen's going to come. Okay. I hope this plays well.
Starting point is 00:33:56 Because although you guys can actually see my screen. Mystery person on the Zoom call. Can you hear me right now? I can. Okay. Garvia Bailey. Rock cuisine. Bonjour. Let me introduce this gentleman. Everybody here
Starting point is 00:34:13 in attendance can hear it, but can't see this person, obviously, but Pandemic Fridays, 76 weeks. Every once in a while, Stu Stone would go to LA to make money and feed himself and pay his mortgage and everything. And we respect that. We had the best substitute host in the history of substitute hosts.
Starting point is 00:34:34 We had the legendary Brother Bill fill in. Huge. And joining us right now from White Rock. I hope you heard the applause. Some call him Neil Morrison. I call him Brother Bill. I see he's got a Toronto Mike t-shirt in the background. How's it going, Billy? Hey, guys. How you doing?
Starting point is 00:34:55 Get a photo of your window. This is so funny. Make sure you're flush, buddy. I wish I... If I wasn't afraid of loosening the cables, I would turn my camera around so you could see the scene. But the patio is so full, it had to spill into the lawns because we're not allowed to have more people here.
Starting point is 00:35:14 Hello, Liz. That's fantastic. Wow, Liz Brio is here, everybody. Zinger, is that you, buddy? We're going to get you here later. Wow. But this is a great crowd. I wish I could give you the palm of pasta and the beer but
Starting point is 00:35:25 of course you're in white rock bc i just wanted to thank you like for the bottom of my heart your episodes were fucking amazing and i'm so like honored that i can have brother bill step in and and host like you were amazing buddy incredible stuff uh and we're gonna do the listen through to uh the album by flipperpper, generic, right now. Like all 70 minutes of the 20-minute sex bomb version. Can I just ask Cam how he's feeling from his trip
Starting point is 00:35:53 to Montreal? It was great. I mean, Montreal is Montreal. Cam had one too many great I was going to say, Cam, did you indulge in that video that I saw of you where the one where Leonard Cohen's in the background winking? Was that you with a couple of points in it?
Starting point is 00:36:13 I did have a bottle of La Fille de Monde while I was there. So it's sort of a one-in-one scenario. But, yeah, it was a good trip. I mean, yeah, Montreal's awesome. I have a lot of time for that city. My second question is, hello, Montreal's awesome. I have a lot of time for that city. My second question is, hello Cam, obviously, hello Stu, my second question is, where's Rod Black?
Starting point is 00:36:31 He's doing impressions near the bathroom. He's opening for Rich Little. He was, you know, thanks for the kind words about me, Mike, but Rod Black took it to the next level, man. You know what would be heaven?
Starting point is 00:36:45 If Rod Black would zoom in right now, it would be amazing. Okay, so just a little housekeeping. You can hang in there. I won't call you Neil, but you're not Brother Bill. You scared him off. Where did he go? Is Mike gone? No, he's over there.
Starting point is 00:36:55 Oh, Mike Majeski. Okay, so Jay Brody has left. We have a fourth mic here. Thanks so much for the Hayes Mama beer. I'm going to crack one open here on the mic. Can Mike Majeski jump on the mic? Mike Majeski has the most amazing announcement to make. He's ripping it up.
Starting point is 00:37:07 He's doing more than ripping it up. I don't want to make this announcement. You make this announcement. Get on that mic. Everybody, you know, Toronto Mike doesn't happen without sponsors stepping up and fueling the real talk. This gentleman is ripping it up. Mike Majeski, who kicked out a mean jam
Starting point is 00:37:24 by the way. Listen to Mike Majeski kick out the jams what a wonderful partner of the show in the know in Mimico and I always tell people go to realestatelove.ca the mic is yours you're one of the few people that look as good as you do on the side of a truck it's cause you're drunk
Starting point is 00:37:40 well not yet you have an announcement don't you I love it. I'm not going to tie you up with sponsors because we're all here for Mike and he's awesome. It's amazing to see
Starting point is 00:37:49 the support you're getting from the community. An amazing show. So proud to sponsor it. We just got around for 40 beers, so make sure it's on our system, guys.
Starting point is 00:37:59 Get yourself a beer. Enjoy yourself. Wow. Okay, so just let me reiterate. The first beer you drink is courtesy of Great Lakes. Sounds like the second beer you drink is
Starting point is 00:38:09 courtesy of Mike Majeski. Wow. He's ripping it up tonight, guys. Dude, honestly, that's amazing. Thanks for your support, buddy. Realestatelove.ca. You're the best. Mike Majeski, that's a partner for you. If he sells one house out of this, it was worth it.
Starting point is 00:38:27 There's his card. Make sure you get those. There you go. I might give his card to my mom. He's handsome. There's so many people I want to get to. And hang in there. Do you have to go anywhere quickly, Brother Bill,
Starting point is 00:38:42 or can you stick around a little bit? No, I'm good. You let me know when I've overstayed my welcome. Never. Oh, never. Please. There's an Andrew here. This gentleman, and I'm going to just give a little back story.
Starting point is 00:38:51 Andrew, you come to this mic because Andrew wrote me an email. Monica, remember that day I was crying? It was not because I was watching Fields of Dreams every day. That was when the Leafs lost? Yeah. No, I'm like, no way. That doesn't hurt anymore. At some point, it stops hurting.
Starting point is 00:39:08 Okay. Andrew, please tell us, like, is there another handle we know you by? Or are you just one of those quiet listeners who doesn't chime in? I'm just in the orbit. Okay, in the orbit. Yeah. And get in on that mic. I know you've got to get right on it.
Starting point is 00:39:21 What's your Twitter handle? Are you on Twitter? Not verified. Yes. Welcome to the club. What's your Twitter handle? Are you on Twitter? Not verified. Yes. Welcome to the club. Sue's Donuts. Even Cam's not verified on Twitter. Okay.
Starting point is 00:39:31 Andrew, I read the email, so I braced myself, but please speak into that microphone. Oh, my God. I guess I'm, yeah. So I guess I'll reiterate some of the messages that I sent. I started listening to the show a couple of years ago, looking up some Toronto-based podcasts. And I think I found a short five-minute podcast that BlogTO did and your podcast were the two that came up. Stuck with this one.
Starting point is 00:40:00 Smart choice right there. Already a sign of intelligence. And so, yeah, Pandemic Fridays. I just got to say it's a big thank you to you guys uh to all the individuals who are part of that show it's been a for me such a stabilizing piece over this pandemic uh especially during the beginning not a lot of friends we could see family all that stuff but i had this podcast every week um and yeah i just gotta say big thank you it's been a lot for me the last year and a half. And I'm amazed to see how far it's come, but also a little saddened to see it
Starting point is 00:40:32 go. But I wish it best. Yes, that was great, man. Nice to meet you, man. Awesome. Andrew, it's been tough for all of us. Like I got to say, this pandemic has sucked. Yeah, yeah. And I work in mental health. So as a mental health worker, this was definitely, I don't even know this thing even close enough. But. You can always throw in the headphones if you want. It just helps. But you don't. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:55 Just to say that, you know, this podcast over this last year and a half has been amazing. Wow. I appreciate it, guys. And let's keep it up. Can I ask you a question real quick? Since you do listen. The worst selection in the history of the show was when Mike played
Starting point is 00:41:09 Metallica, Hero of the Day. For people who don't know, we had an episode that was songs that you heard in a movie or a TV show. And Mike played a Metallica song from a YouTube video of Wendell Clark highlights. Potentially the worst selection.
Starting point is 00:41:26 For sure. I agree. But I will say that I have a lover and affinity for that song now. So thank you. Nice to meet you, man. Andrew, thank you, buddy, for listening. Thank you so much. Amazing.
Starting point is 00:41:41 That was great. And you want to end this thing. Look at the impact we have on the community. We're changing lives. You know, I am ending this after 76 weeks, but it's not an easy thing to do. I do love Pandemic Fridays, but I feel like it needs to end. Well, what did you tell 1236, your specific words?
Starting point is 00:42:01 I'm exhausted. You're exhausted. I am exhausted. I'm going camping now. Oh, camping. The humanity. I'm exhausted. It needs to end, but I thought if we're going to end Pandemic Friday, let's
Starting point is 00:42:13 throw a huge party like this. We got Brother Bill here from White Rock. What a great crowd here. There's so many people that came. Your mom is here. Look at her. Your mom is here. Yeah. Where the hell is your mom? My mom is here. Look at her. Your mom is here. Where the hell is your mom? My mom is close. Again, I'm trying to get everybody on the show here.
Starting point is 00:42:32 I'm trying to think of who should be next. Mike, can I just say something quickly? Yeah, let us go. All right. Can you not see me? No, I can see you. I'm just fucking with you. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:42:44 All right. I just wanted to say thanks to the three of you guys. The pandemic has been tough in Ontario. It's been tough in British Columbia. It's been tough everywhere, obviously. I haven't been to Ontario in 10 years. It's been a long time. And this podcast, specifically Pandemic Fridays,
Starting point is 00:43:03 has kind of brought me back as an Ontarian. I originally lived there for 36 years. It sort of brought me back. And you guys are my concrete for the city of Toronto and the province of Ontario. And to be able to be on this and be part of this, I knew it was special the first time I heard you guys. And I knew Mike, you were special the first time I heard a Toronto Mike podcast. And obviously I can't see all the people
Starting point is 00:43:31 that are there. They're all special. Trust me. I can see them. I'm sure they would agree with me in saying that this has been something we didn't expect. And thank you guys because it's been entertaining and it's allowed me to remember that I am originally from Ontario. I always will be home. Right. But I haven't been there in 10 years.
Starting point is 00:43:50 And when I am, I'm looking forward to sitting down with the three of you and catching up in person. So thank you very much, guys. Yeah. Thank you, Brother Bill. Hall of Famer. OK, I'm going to go now. Go. Dude, you were awesome. Thanks for doing this, man. Peace and love to you. Thank you. I'll see you guys later. Take care and we'll talk soon. You got it, buddy.
Starting point is 00:44:09 Thanks, pal. Thanks, guys. Bye-bye. Let's do it this way. Who wants on the mic? Just put up your hand if you'd like to jump on the mic right now. I see Tim. What about Tim?
Starting point is 00:44:16 Okay, let's... Yeah, actually, he's a vital cog in this wheel. I'll explain why. There you go, the machinery. By the way, it's not Tim. It's Ian Service. And for the last, I don not Tim. It's Ian Service. And for the last, I don't know how many weeks of Pandemic Fridays,
Starting point is 00:44:31 we've gone live at live.torontomic.com. And I see a lot of people, this table, but a lot of people I'm seeing out here have been on these live streams, and we'd be talking, and I'll see their comments in real time, and I'd bring them into the show. And it's added this extra element that's just been so amazing, and all of that is possible because of this handsome man right here, Ian Service.
Starting point is 00:44:50 Thank you so much, buddy. Wow. That's a big welcome. And you came all the way from Guelph, is that right? Well, yeah. I got to show up once in a while. And was it a lot of work to make the live stream again again the point of this was
Starting point is 00:45:07 that we could go live on like facebook or youtube but then they'll hear that i played hero of the day from metallica yeah you don't want them to hear that and they strike it rightfully so we gotta bootleg it right so you've got a pirate stream where i can play anything i want and i'm safe and dude i can avoid the law. What a feeling that is. What a rush every time I break the law. Thanks to you. Pump up the volume.
Starting point is 00:45:32 Here's Cam Wooley. F-O-T-M, Cam Wooley is here. But thank you. How much effort was involved? Was that a lot of work? It was a fair amount of effort, but it was worth it. I listened to the first Pandemic Friday and I was like, guys, I need you to bring me into that Zoom it. I listened to the first Pandemic Friday, and I was like, guys, bring me into that Zoom call. I want to be there. I want to
Starting point is 00:45:49 be part of this. Let's go. You're always in a room surrounded by asbestos. Where was that? That would be my basement. It's still not finished. Is that a Guelph thing? I guess. It's insulated. It's cheap.
Starting point is 00:46:05 Exactly. I just hope you're being safe there with the asbestos. Oh, definitely. If I could ask a question. You know, you listen to every show and you've been a part of every show and all that stuff. A really pressing question that I know really needs to be answered if we're going to end this show properly. Soul Asylum. That's a grunge.
Starting point is 00:46:24 Actually, I was getting ready to get around the Christmas tree and sing some collective soul. Touche. Kill. That's a deep cut. It's almost March. March of the Pigs. Spring's almost here.
Starting point is 00:46:43 That's the one I missed on The Greatest Misses. Shout out to Trent Russell. March of the Pigs. Ian Service, honestly, man, we couldn't do it without you. And even other things, like, you know, I produce other podcasts and things like helping me out with the analytics for the clients and things. This effort that you put forward, honestly, one of the great FOTMs. Thank you, Ian Service, for everything you do to keep this thing going.
Starting point is 00:47:03 You're welcome. The only thing more impressive than your work is my 76-week winning streak. It's amazing. Oh, snap. Okay. Where the fuck is Cambrio? Well, okay. You mentioned Cambrio.
Starting point is 00:47:16 You can stay on that mic for a moment because I've got to play something. I promised Cambrio. So Cambrio is in Saskatchewan or something. And Matt Layden is right here sitting with my mom. Matt, there he is. She waved. Do you have a confession to make? That's or something. And Matt Layden is right here sitting with my mom. Matt, there he is. She waved. Do you have a confession to make? That's confirmation.
Starting point is 00:47:28 Are you Matt Layden? Yes. We'll find out. We'll get her on the mic. We'll find out. I'm going to play, and I don't know how much of this will play, because Cambrillo recorded a song for us. Uh-oh.
Starting point is 00:47:37 Of course he did. And it's long. Oh, really? But I'm going to play a minute or so and see how it goes. I'm sure it's going to be great. So are you guys ready to hear Cambrillo's Pandemic Friday song? Yes. Hell yes. Hey, everyone. That's Pandemic Fridays. minute or so it's gonna be great so you guys ready to hear cambrio's uh pandemic friday song yes hell yes hey everyone at pandemic fridays this is cambrio coming to you from northern saskatchewan
Starting point is 00:47:53 wish i could be there but i have a little gift to the show and all of the fotms there enjoying their lasagna and beer so here it goes goes. This is for everyone. And there's a bunch of shout-outs here. So if Toronto Mike, if you're low on time, that's all right. You can cut this short. Okay. It is a full parody of American Pie. So here we go. We got a kind of short time, but I hope the FOTMs enjoy this gift.
Starting point is 00:48:23 We'll give it a minute. I already love it. He won this gift. We'll give it a minute. I already love it. He won this week. It's a great song. A long, long time ago, I can still remember how Cam Gordon thought California Dreaming was an autumn song. And if I know they had their chance, they could make Hayden Dessert dance, and maybe Mike would be happy for a while.
Starting point is 00:48:44 But vasectomy jams made me giggle. With every pun Stu delivered. Mike's neighbor on his doorstep. Kareem's mind so fuzzy he couldn't take one more step. I can't remember if Stu won them all when Cam got interrupted and went home with his balls. But brother Bill's insights touched me deep inside the day. Pandemic Fridays die.
Starting point is 00:49:09 So bye, bye Pandemic Fridays, guys. Drove to Etobicoke and the backyard tarp wasn't dry. When them Thornhill boys were drinking whiskey and rye singing, this series will never die. This series will never die. Did you write enya's orinoco and you have faith in the greatness of toto if leave a famke tells you so now do you believe in yacht rock and roll can ian service save your soul and can sammy cone teach me drums real slow? I know you're in love with Bojana. As I saw you dance into tots and teens jams.
Starting point is 00:49:51 Dean Levinson and Stephanie Wilkinson kicked off their shoes. Man, I date those grunge jams and blues. Mike was a lonely teenager working at the X. With a pink bicycle and a rented camping truck. But Stu and Cam were out of luck the day Pandemic Fridays died. So like 17 minutes left.
Starting point is 00:50:12 Okay, should I bring it down? I love this. Okay, well, I'll share it. I'll share it. I feel like this is Spalding. Like Spalding Gray. I think that he needs a round of applause. That's Cambrio. Thank you, Cambrio. I want to hear the rest of that, please. You know, there's someone here from Houston,
Starting point is 00:50:26 but I just want to say hello to the person from Houston. There is a Houston person here, everybody. Apparently didn't come just for Pandemic Friday's finale. But I want to shout out a couple of gentlemen. So, Ian, I'm booting you because there's a couple of guys who came from further than Guelph. Ian. Whoa.
Starting point is 00:50:43 There are a couple of people who came from Quebec. I'm not kidding here. I don't care which comes first. There's a Quebec Irish boy and there's a double D. Which one wants to take the mic first? These guys have been with us the whole time. This is a big deal.
Starting point is 00:50:59 You guys are fully vaxxed? Okay, come on in here. Hey, pal. That's Quebec Irish boy, Darren Shanahan. Oh, it's like the Tenors or something. Exactly. I was hoping to get a little bit of courage. Oh, yeah, he's fully vaxxed, everybody.
Starting point is 00:51:12 Is Ben Rayner here by any chance? Ben Rayner. He brought a vaccine passport. He brought the whole works. Okay, so get ready. I know there's only one headphones. You don't actually need it. If you get close to the mic, it's all good.
Starting point is 00:51:23 I guess I'm talking to Quebec Irish boy first. Did you come to Toronto just for this event? Free beer, free pasta. On that note, everybody who just arrived, I saw Zinger and a bunch of other people, make sure you get your palm of pasta from the red boxes on the table there.
Starting point is 00:51:40 That's pasta for you. Everyone who just arrived, get your free pasta. Not only is your first beer on the house, thanks to Great Lakes Brewery, but Mike Majewski bought 40 beers or something. So there's a basically get in there while the 40 beers are available. You better drink it before Cam does. So that's like,
Starting point is 00:51:56 you could drink two or three beers. I heard Gerstein's bought 60 beers. Shout out to a and the Six. There you go. Sorry. I just want to let people know there's pasta there. There's beer there. Help yourselves.
Starting point is 00:52:10 Well, I'm willing to sponsor someone's first month at the public storage. I got a dollar. You can see the sign. I got that. Everybody's first month. I got that. That's a big sign. If you have a binder.
Starting point is 00:52:20 But you two, I'm on live.torontomike.com for these recordings. Can't believe they're ending, by the way. That's done. What? Pandemic Fridays is over. Well, that's your call. What are you looking at me for? I'm getting buyer's remorse here.
Starting point is 00:52:33 Okay. Stu's taking over on Bob's basement, isn't he? I better. We're going to get to Bob. Bob hasn't left, has he? No, I see him talking to El Grego over there. But gentlemen, I love the fact that you guys are listening to a Toronto-centric podcast from Quebec. How the hell did that happen?
Starting point is 00:52:50 Really long story. Okay, never mind then. Yeah, exactly. I don't want to be the Cambrio of the whole thing. So I'm just going to sort of say great podcast. Honestly, this podcast, especially the pandemic Fridays, it really brought everybody close together. Social distancing and all these lockdowns is not something that's normal. And every week, we always
Starting point is 00:53:08 had the Pandemic Friday to listen to. So have Stu kick your guys' ass week after week. You tabernacks! Very good, very good. But I did learn a lot of things over the course of Pandemic Friday. I didn't realize that chess was actually a sport. According
Starting point is 00:53:23 to the poll, the IOC recognizes the Chess Federation as an official member. The Pogues are now officially my favorite group from Ireland. Oh my god. I'm going to slap a label on you for misinformation.
Starting point is 00:53:40 And now I'm the biggest Jordakai fan in Canada. Since I've insulted everybody, I'm going to pass that. And I've been nice to Stu, actually. So I love your movies, by the way. Faking a Murderer. Jack of all trades. Awesome.
Starting point is 00:53:52 Merci, my friend. Big Babar guy. Have you seen Faking a Murderer? I sure did. I actually subscribed to Hollywood Sweets just for Stu. Hold on. I got something for him, too. Okay, hold on.
Starting point is 00:54:03 This guy came all the way from Quebec. He's a Quebec Irish boy. We're going to take care of him here. You know what's funny? I got something for him too. Okay, hold on. This guy came all the way from Quebec. He's a Quebec Irish boy. We're going to take care of him here. You know what's funny? I got some faking a murder rolling papers for you. Oh my God. Where's Kareem? I got a password for you too, Kareem.
Starting point is 00:54:17 Don't worry. You want to hear how Cambrio finishes up? He's finishing up here. Hold on. And here it is, everyone. Big finish. This has been like 14 minutes. Let's do this.
Starting point is 00:54:27 So by, by pandemic Friday, guys, drove to Etobicoke and the backyard tarp wasn't dry. And them Thornhill boys were drinking Great Lakes and rye, singing, the series will never die. The series will never die. Thanks, everyone. That was the full rendition Unabridged.
Starting point is 00:54:50 Have a great night, and I'll be there next time. Unabridged. Thank you, Quebec Irish boy, man. Thanks, Mike. Thanks, gentlemen. Thanks for the great work, guys. Are you coming to the post-mortem? I was going to say, come to the after party. Because we're getting kicked out of here at 9pm sharp
Starting point is 00:55:07 and we're all going to Queensway Park which is just a bit north of here. Yeah, attendee TPS officers. And we're all going to... They love Toronto Mike. They do. Join us at the post-mortem and we can catch up better then. Thanks for being here.
Starting point is 00:55:22 Thanks guys. Hold on, Double D d you don't want to say anything you want him to it's like at the oscars when the two people go up and one does all the talking and it's like no time for you so i'll be serious for a few seconds okay okay so the pandemic friday was kind of good for us because we had it really tough in quebec with the curfew and everything so thursday night no no happy hours, nothing. So I was going to my desktop, watching you guys every Thursday night, Monday night, Wednesday night.
Starting point is 00:55:51 It's always changing. But taking a few beers with you guys was okay virtually. So thanks for it, guys. And I would say that a guy coming from Quebec with a Blue Jays hat, you got to love that. You were there yesterday.
Starting point is 00:56:03 Yeah. Oh, you were there? Yeah. Wow. Nice to meet you, man. Pleasure. Thanks, guys. got to love that. You weren't there yesterday. Oh, you were there? Yeah. Wow. Nice to meet you, man. Pleasure. Thanks, guys. Double D, everybody.
Starting point is 00:56:09 Double D. I wonder what that means. That's so great. Cam, you have something you want to give the crowd? Yeah, no, I thought this would be actually a great segue, because as some folks know, and thank you again for joining us for Quebec. Wait, sorry, Cam, to interrupt. Trudy, we don't like it when Cam interrupts Stu, right?
Starting point is 00:56:29 Trudy said I'm a very nice boy or something. Oh, right. We don't like it. Yes. So, Stu, you're on right there. Don't interrupt Cameron. You got that backwards. I just wanted to make sure David Kynes, if he's listening,
Starting point is 00:56:39 those guys ordered Hollywood Suite to watch Faking a Murder. He might be here. Oh, really? No. I think that's Peter Gross. Alright, you know what? Peter, get your butt over here. Wait, Cam was about to do it. I know, Cam. That's okay. So Peter can get on this
Starting point is 00:56:56 mic while Cam does his thing. Wait, wait, wait. 80 push-ups before you get on the mic. No, 100. He did like, how many did you do? 91? I did 90. On the mic, sir many did you do, 91? I did 91. On the mic, sir. I'll do 50 if you collect 100 bucks. If I quick, 50 push-ups.
Starting point is 00:57:12 This is like Jack Palance. Paywall. Peter Gross. You know, we're so lucky to have you, man. Are you sure it's him? Oh, it is him. It is. No, that's only one person, Peter Gross.
Starting point is 00:57:25 You are so lucky to have me, you know. I'm such a mega star. Ask Monica if my phone rings, there's a 95% chance it's Peter Gross because nobody calls me, but you still phone people. I got kind of a phone addiction. Did Garnet Barnsdale ever show up? Yeah, Garnet and Asher back there. See, there's a whole crowd out there. Oh my goodness. See, there's a whole audience
Starting point is 00:57:52 I don't know about beyond the... The lawns. If you've never bet a horse in your life, all you have to do is log on and see what Garnet has picked and bet it. Wow. And you'll hit something. Wow. I wanted to mention something. My Aunt Sandy, who's a legend in her,
Starting point is 00:58:07 she's also a legend, but her favorite, you are her favorite, she is like a horse racing junkie. Oh, my God. She goes to the... Perry Lefkoe told... She's like a Woodbine legend, right? Perry Lefkoe told me,
Starting point is 00:58:19 Sandy, Aunt Sandy, we were chatting with Aunt Sandy, Aunt Sandy is a Woodbine legend. Like she would be sitting, yelling at the jockeys. Do you know Aunt Sandy, we were chatting with Aunt Sandy. Aunt Sandy is a Woodbine legend. Like she would be sitting yelling at the jockeys. Do you know Aunt Sandy? He might. How old is she? She's 95 actually.
Starting point is 00:58:32 She is available. You guys can talk horses. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. The last time Peter Gross spoke to somebody that vintage, she croaked the next day. Well, then maybe better not. That's not true because I spoke to my mother today and she's 98. Have you checked in on her lately?
Starting point is 00:58:50 She's not going anywhere. Where is Brad Jones from Ridley Funeral Home? Yeah, just mention Toronto Mike for 15% off. I hope we don't need it anytime soon. Peter, last time you were on Toronto Mike, you did the push-ups. Got a lot of people, a lot of comments. A lot of people got very, very impressed. It was really impressive.
Starting point is 00:59:08 She was very impressed. The women were like oohing and aahing. I'm quite the show-off, aren't I? But, dude, I'm so glad you're here. Did you get you some palm of pasta, though? No, I didn't. Go before it's gone. I'm hoping to negotiate for two servings because I had to.
Starting point is 00:59:23 Done. I had to arrange something with my son. Are you going to bring a doggie bag? Go get two. Did you rollerblade here? No. Go get two. And I know you're not a drinker, so I won't worry about the beer.
Starting point is 00:59:35 Can I get a pop? There's no pop, but there is. Is this water or beer? It's a lot of negotiation. Do you want a mug? I just gave you two pastas. The art of the deal happening right here. By the way, is that Rick C. in Oakville?
Starting point is 00:59:45 Is that the end of my interview? I just go get the two pastas? Rick C. in Oakville is an OG. We're going to get to you. He's an OG. Amazing that Rick C. in Oakville is here. This goes way back before the podcast.
Starting point is 00:59:55 Peter Gross, I don't want to promote all your shows because we just did that on Toronto Mic, but of course, that day on the stretch, thanks to Garnet Barnsdale, is the de facto horse racing podcast in this province. I watched the queen plate.
Starting point is 01:00:10 I don't even know what de facto means, but it's the only horse racing podcast in Canada. By the way, I'm looking over my shoulder here. I think my brother's trying to escape. That's my brother. And your mother. She's getting out of here too. My mom and...
Starting point is 01:00:22 It looks like my brother Steve. Look at the similarity. He looks like you Yeah, well, that happens That's like Mike's brother, but with sperm Well, remember, Peter Gross' brother was a substitute Well, it's like, you know, if you want to have a Mike You can't with you, so he's available, right?
Starting point is 01:00:37 Maybe we'll get a specimen At the park later Just don't tell Monica that I think they have like some Petri dishes I tell Steve I can't hear him. But Peter, thanks for being here. You are a legend. I can't believe that we had Humble Howard, Mark Hebscher, and Peter Gross on the same show.
Starting point is 01:00:55 That's just too much celebrity. That's quite the trifecta. What was the payoff? Where the hell is Deanie Petty? Seven and a half to one. The Scientology Museum. Amazing, dude. Honestly, I'm so honored that I get to work with you now.
Starting point is 01:01:08 You're just so good at what you do, man. Peter Gross, give this guy a round of applause and two servings of pasta. Seriously, go seriously. You need to eat, my friend. Take some magnets, give it to the kids. I'm worried about you. Stickers, you can give those out at the track. Oh, and I heard, I know you're not on the mic, it's okay,
Starting point is 01:01:25 but I heard you're getting a special birthday gift from Palma Pasta as well. I don't know if you caught wind of this. Yeah. Oh, there's some pop. Look at that. Asking you shall receive. Where did that come from? They don't have pop here, do they?
Starting point is 01:01:36 Have them both. Have them both. Wow. That's courtesy of Ian Service, who hosts this fine podcast. So thank you, Ian. Okay, I've got to check the clock. Sorry, it's like Mike Majewski, 40 beers for everyone, like Ian Service. Two pops.
Starting point is 01:01:50 One root beer and one spread. Which Gross took both of them and he's going to take them home for his kid. We need somebody from this table. Who would you like to talk to first from this table? Oh, everybody. I want Ezri. Okay, Mike Grigorski. Geography Corner.
Starting point is 01:02:04 If anyone listened to an episode of Pandemic Friday They heard the Geography Corner Which is a very organic thing It's like we've got so many It just sort of happened I love it And you're wearing an Esri sports shirt You love Esri
Starting point is 01:02:20 I do You're wearing a Toronto Mike shirt I own Toronto Mike You're wearing a Toronto Mike shirt. I own Toronto Mike. You're wearing a Blue Jay shirt. So, Mike, I actually am lucky enough that I get to produce the Esri
Starting point is 01:02:33 podcast. Is this just like a revolving door of your clients? I asked you who you wanted to talk to. We were handpicked by Cam to come up. So it was totally organic, like cam was saying but dude thanks so much for your support and thank you for uh being such a fan i love it when i see your comments at live.toronomike.com you're the best thanks it's so much fun just listening you
Starting point is 01:02:55 can hear it's at peter gross height so you're gonna yeah i know i got it that's better but um do you anything you want to say i know andrew know Andrew had an eloquent speech about how his life will never be the same now that we're done Pandemic Friday. Do you have any similar sentiments you want to share? You know, it was... But no pressure. No, seriously. I felt a sense of urgency if I didn't get to a Pandemic Friday and it was getting on to like Monday or Tuesday or Wednesday. I thought, I got to get to this before the next one shows up
Starting point is 01:03:26 or else I'm going to be lost and I don't want to be like an episode behind. So I was always trying to catch up with each one. I'd say the fact it was never on Friday probably didn't help. In spite of the name. Yeah, it's kind of amazing the finale is a Friday. Because I used to record them when I was supposed to be working. Remember?
Starting point is 01:03:45 Can I? I got to be careful here. Don supposed to be working. Right. For the first, like... Can I... I got to be careful here. Don't tell Dorsey. No, I won't. There's a reason these weren't always live streamed if you know what I mean. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:03:52 Anyway. Have I said too much? Yes. Statue of limitations. Apologies. Apologies. But once we moved it to like Thursday evenings,
Starting point is 01:04:00 you could be live streamed. Yes. Yes. And Grigotsky, it turns out... Grigotsky. I didn't learn this until later, but it turns out you live really close to where I used to live. A stone's throw away.
Starting point is 01:04:15 A stone's throw away. So what a small world. This is a great story. Are you going to tell us about the sprinkler next? We're just kidding. A lot of people really like the sprinkler story. I like it. Like, I'm serious.
Starting point is 01:04:29 It's almost as good as Elvis Stoico. That's a fucking shopper's drug mart. Right. It was a fucking future shop. We can't all smoke doobies with Patrick Swayze. Like me and Mike did. It's hyper local. That's what I like about that story.
Starting point is 01:04:42 We're not all rolling with Saget. No. I'm rolling with Gragatsky. Shout out to Esri. I like about that store we're not all rolling with Saget no I'm rolling with Gragatsky shout out to Esri I like those gloves by the way did you ride here
Starting point is 01:04:50 I did my bike is literally wow you wear gloves when you ride I do what is it
Starting point is 01:04:54 the Tour de France no I fell once and I scraped my hands really bad don't wear gloves did I mention I broke my wrist once yeah and if you had
Starting point is 01:05:02 gloves on who knows who knows by the way Mike this is a legitimate... Your office is like Eglinton in the DVP. It is right there. It's got like the... The big Esri sign.
Starting point is 01:05:12 Yeah, it's like, oh my God. Like, yeah, once we started doing the podcast and I noticed, I'm like, geography corner? There you are. It's like right there. It's awesome. It's perfect. I just, I got to say thanks here
Starting point is 01:05:22 for bringing those Esri geography corners into the oh there's an invoice coming we'll get on it right away but it was fun it was nice to send it to Guan our fabulous host she'll be happy to
Starting point is 01:05:36 I do like it more to include like high schools here's all the people that went to the high school I never did buy it Cam you were passionate about, like, this, who else is from Austin, Texas? And I always found that, like, who cares? I think a lot of people cared. In fact, I'm sure. The gloves are off.
Starting point is 01:05:52 It's over now. I can burn it. The gloves are off. Unless you're Nagoski, then they're on. People love it. When I go on a Wikipedia page and, like, I click a name and I find someone's from the same spot somewhere else, it's just, like, my mind just goes crazy.
Starting point is 01:06:03 I think if it's, like artist who's like 30 years prior, this other artist came from that same city or an athlete or something, you think, oh, they went to the same high school. What would that have been like? That's very interesting. Well, I'll tell you what. I see what Cam's trying to do here.
Starting point is 01:06:17 Since we're both going to be out of a podcast job, I got Kingston happening. He's trying to get on geography. He's trying to be... Some supplement. You know, I. You know, I see now in the lawns, I see Canada Kev is here. I know Bob Ouellette is here. I mentioned the 100-mile runner Mark Carey is here. I see someone. Rick C. from Oakville is here.
Starting point is 01:06:39 Liz Brio is here. But I need to bring up somebody. Mike, you're awesome. Thanks so much. Thank you very much. Thanks for doing this show. We're going to get back to your table right after the VP of sales comes up here because there's another
Starting point is 01:06:49 key cog in the Pandemic Friday wheel that we must recognize here, which is the kick out the jams. Oh, who didn't want their sticker? How dare they? How are you, buddy? Good to see you, man. Okay, get on that mic. It's up to you if you want to wear the headphones or not.
Starting point is 01:07:05 Yeah, why not? Let's put it this way. We treat that kick out the jams Google spreadsheet like it's sort of like our Bible, and it's key. And especially when I ban repeat jams, like we've been going to that thing. It was so cool that you did that. It's like the ongoing history. It's so cool that you did that. It the ongoing history like it's so cool that you did that. It was you know
Starting point is 01:07:26 a labor of love. I think it was something that needed to be preserved for posterity. And just so so everybody knows the band that had the most
Starting point is 01:07:34 that was played the most times Toto. On Pandemic Friday was Toto. And remind us again But you were like stuffing the ballot box
Starting point is 01:07:41 You're the only one who kicked out Toto. And Mike Wilner. Oh, Wilner wanted to be here, but he's in Detroit apparently. Oh, wow. For some reason. He's getting the Johnson & Johnson. This is completely unrelated, but I do have a couple of important Twitter updates.
Starting point is 01:07:54 Oh. Okay, then I have a note I have to read that just came out. Oh, they updated Twitter again, Cam? I'm going to use the washer. Twitter was down for quite a while this morning. Was that your fault, Cam? Cam tripped over the cord. No, it was like a center in Chicago or something.
Starting point is 01:08:10 It's always Chicago's fault. Midwest. Very important news. Item number one is Eric Clapton has released a new pandemic song called This Has Got to Stop. We should kick out pandemics? Oh, we're done. Sorry.
Starting point is 01:08:22 If there was a pandemic Friday show to kick out that kind of jam. Is this a workers' shoot? This is real? This is real. This is real. This Has Got to Stop is the new song. Out now.
Starting point is 01:08:30 So stream it and download it and give them your feedback. Can't wait. Item number two is Shirali Najak who was on your show once. He's an FOTM. He has resigned
Starting point is 01:08:38 from Hockey Night in Canada. Really? The first comment on the tweet is from Matt Layden saying congratulations. Monica, that's where you went. We need to know something. At the time that was tweeted Really? The first comment on the tweet is from Matt Layden saying congratulations. Wait a minute. We need to know something. At the time that was tweeted, was Monica on her phone?
Starting point is 01:08:51 No. I feel like Monica's going to just rip off prosthetics. She's actually Matt Layden. I love how inside this whole thing is. Half of this crowd is like, what are we talking about? Okay, VPSpsa let's get serious for a minute yes you meticulously keep that uh document up to date and people can go to toronto mike.com slash kotj and view this document it's got everything it can real time
Starting point is 01:09:18 i would see you updating it so not only did you keep this amazing document up to date in real time which we are so glad you and and Ian Service and Al Grego, there's so many key cogs. Liebe Fumke we'll get to. But, you're also the reason Mike Majewski bought 40 beers for FOTS. Wow. He's a good man. He's a good sponsor. That's what
Starting point is 01:09:37 we like to see from our sponsors. 40 more beers! By the way, how many beers are left from that 40? How are we doing here? Everybody's enjoying their fresh craft beer from Great Lakes. Okay, Michael Lang, we're going to get to the 100%ers. Oh, my God, we've got to burn through this. VP of Sales, you're the fucking best. Love you, man.
Starting point is 01:09:53 Thank you so much, and thank you guys for 76 weeks of quality entertainment. Oh, my God. It's been spectacular, and I'll miss it. Thanks for the Google Docs. You're the man. Thanks for everything, man. Thank you, VP of Sales. There's somebody who used to join us on the Zooms
Starting point is 01:10:09 back when before it was in my backyard. We'd do Zoom episodes. I hated them, but we did them. And somebody would join us. That's not why I hated them, by the way. But I just want to ask if Lieve Fumke wants to come on this microphone. Wow, this is big.
Starting point is 01:10:24 Lieve Fumke is Dutch for sweetie. She'll correct me when she gets on the mic. Don't you know something in Dutch? You don't? No? Do you know some Dutch? She does. Oh.
Starting point is 01:10:35 We need some, like, Dutch music. Do you want to put on the headphones? You don't have to, but it's... Okay. She refuses. Like Damien Cox once refused to put on headphones. And you know what happened to him. It's a nice breeze coming in when Levi Fenton comes up here.
Starting point is 01:10:49 Yeah, you brought the wind. Holy moly. Fire and brimstone. She's like the wind. Okay. Shout out to Swayze. You know what? Patrick Swayze, gone too soon.
Starting point is 01:10:56 I went to the gravesite, the Shadow of the Ridley Funeral Home. I went to see Jeff Healy's gravesite. That was a good segue. That's fun. Jeff Healy, of course, is in Roadhouse with Patrick Swayze. And what pro wrestler is in Roadhouse? John Cena.
Starting point is 01:11:14 Terry Funk. Wow. It was always great to see you'd be making dinner with Juan and then the cat. What a great couple, by the way. The greatest couple. Juan. Juan.
Starting point is 01:11:27 You know what I noticed? And I'm going to say this to YYZ Gord. He's always cooking in the back, doing a little dance. Soon, when I get YYZ Gord on here, he told me it's not YYZ Gord. It's YYZ Gord. We'll learn that there's something about an FOTM who loves the show and their spouse who is exposed to it through marriage or whatever. Right. Juan is like,
Starting point is 01:11:46 do you like this show? Be honest. He nodded, everybody. By the way, Midtown Gord is here. Not just YYZ Gord, but Midtown Gord. There's a lot of Gords here today. Juan, wink twice if you need us to save you. Juan, I whined.
Starting point is 01:12:03 He's never winked so hard in his life. Leave a fumka life I gotta tell you that you're one of the great FOTMs And you're so supportive One of the best judges we've ever had She awarded me lots of victories Terrible judge No you got pissed off with me
Starting point is 01:12:19 Come on that's long ago Buried like a Ridley Funeral Home Just buried Is Brad Jones here everybody? Are we friends now against you? That's a long ago. What was the straw? Buried like a Ridley Funeral Home. Just buried. Is Brad Jones here, everybody? Brad Jones? Okay. Are we friends now again, Stu? We are.
Starting point is 01:12:30 I'll give you a hug even if you want one. All right. Is this okay? Are you both fully vaxxed? Oh, my goodness. I'm witnessing a great moment. Stu Stone and Levi Fumke had a big hug. 76% effectiveness.
Starting point is 01:12:42 Levi, I never asked you this, or maybe I have and I forgot. When was your first, like, when did you first discover Toronto Mic'd? This was through Humble and Fred, right? Yes, it was. A long time ago? Like way before Pandemic Fridays. Oh, yeah. You came on and talked about your podcast.
Starting point is 01:12:58 And I thought it was more interesting than Humble and Fred. You don't know what I was like? You're saying Toronto Mic'd is better than the legendary Humble and Fred podcast? Yes, it is. Wow. Yep. I'm fighting words. Wow.
Starting point is 01:13:11 Luckily, neither Humble nor Fred will hear this. No, that's true. Because they don't. Yep. And I'm completely broken up with Humble and Fred. Well, I feel like you were the first Foss. Were you not? No, no, no.
Starting point is 01:13:24 That's Linda. No. Is Linda here? No. Yes. Oh, I thought Linda might make an appearance. Linda Famke were the first Foss. Were you not? No, no, no, no. That's Linda. No. Is Linda here? No. Yes. Oh, I thought Linda might make an appearance. Linda Famco was the first Foss. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:13:30 Well, I was going to say, you were also the first FOTM I met in the wild. Remember? That's right. My daughter, Katie, we were like in the produce section at Maple Leaf Gardens Loblaws. You're like, Cam? And I'm like. Was Elvis Stoico there by any chance? No, like I thought it it was someone who has a
Starting point is 01:13:45 grievance against Twitter because I've had that in public a few times too. But you were very nice. We had a little chat and Katie said hi and she's like She's like, you're famous, daddy. I don't care, yeah. Yes, yes. It's like in Flight of the Conchords where you have that one fan
Starting point is 01:14:01 who latches on. Aren't you upset that this is ending? I am. Or you're exhausted too? I'm exhausted too. All right. And I think Mike needs a break. Poor Mike.
Starting point is 01:14:12 Oh, I'll put you on the mic next. By the way, Peter Gross left and he took six pastas. You know what? I'm okay with that. I just want the man to eat. Well, I don't know how he carried them all. Look, John Gallagher owes that man a lot of money, so whatever it takes. Like he hopped a fence. He's like on the Q to eat. Well, he's, I don't know how he carried them all. Look, John Gallagher owes that man a lot of money, so whatever it takes.
Starting point is 01:14:26 Like he hopped the fence. He's like on the QEW. He's doing push-ups with the lasagna on his back. Well, I just want to tell you, Livia and Famke, that you are appreciated. Yes.
Starting point is 01:14:35 Thank you. What a great episode. A thousand percent. And am I allowed to say, because there was a famous, an infamous Humble and Fred appearance on Toronto Mic'd
Starting point is 01:14:42 where I played a clip of a listener who felt like Humble and Fred wasn't treating me very well. Why do you always shit on Mike when they do so much for you? And I never disclosed who that was. I just played it. And that caused Fred to – he threw the camera at me and yelled at me for like 10 minutes. And then like the next week, Howard hired me as producer of Humble and Fred. Wow.
Starting point is 01:15:04 Like it was the most remarkable like sequence of events. What do I get for that? A hired me as producer of Humble and Fred. It was the most remarkable sequence of events. What did I get for that? A mug. Free pasta. Humble and Fred mug. Gently use. Although I feel like you're also one of the few FOTMs other than these three have met the mysterious MF. Because we were in the backyard.
Starting point is 01:15:22 And Dawn. And Dawn, yeah, exactly. You guys came in. backyard. And Dawn. And Dawn, yeah, exactly. Like you guys came in. Oh, you crashed. Yes. MF was. Yes. And she. We had one of the few live.
Starting point is 01:15:29 Oh, you know what I just thought of, though? That's very sad. That is because that was our last dinner with Sheila. Oh. Okay. So for those who aren't aware, Sheila Konesiewicz was a very prominent FOTM at all these events. Loved the show. Didn't love stew, right?
Starting point is 01:15:43 Didn't like stew? I don't think so. So she had good taste. Yeah. Okay. But hated Pandemic Fridays, which made it better. Yeah, no, she doesn't.
Starting point is 01:15:53 Sheila was a very good voiceover artist as well. We learned that through the show. So a moment, just a moment to recognize that we're down in FOTM, and I still can't really believe it. But the late, great Sheila Kanisiewicz had great taste in podcasts and is missed. And I know that was that night that you crashed our Pandemic Friday recording. It was the last time you had dinner with her.
Starting point is 01:16:19 And she's missed, man. I will look out in the crowd here. I'm like, where's Sheila? She's not here. So for Sheila. Levi, you're the best. Juan is almost as good, maybe even better. It's debatable.
Starting point is 01:16:31 But you like his pants. Oh, yeah. I burned through those pants. I got pants from this gentleman. So to speak. And I ripped them in the crotch area. How? Because of the friction.
Starting point is 01:16:43 Biking. Like the friction against the seat. Biking. Monica, is there a story that we've got to hear here? Monica will be on here soon. There's a gentleman. Thank you, Levi Fumka. Dutch for sweetheart.
Starting point is 01:16:55 Garnet Barnsdale. I met this gentleman because he came over to record an episode of Down the Stretch with Peter Gross. I actually met his son. Well, his son came over too. But then I was speaking to a Humber college class. Do you need some pops also? And his son was there. Yes. Do you want to put on...
Starting point is 01:17:12 I know you're a tall gentleman. Do you want to put those on? Just so you can hear when you're on the mic or whatever. You make great lasagna, right? Yes, I do. I make excellent lasagna, but it's a different product than Palma Pasta. I discovered that my lasagna, but it's a different product than Palma Pasta. And I discovered that my lasagna is so labor intensive that it's much easier for me to drive down to Palma Pasta down there to get theirs because it's. That's well done.
Starting point is 01:17:35 It's so good. He's a pro. A couple of places I want to go with you. One is that Peter Gross is a good friend of yours. He is. Peter. I've known Peter for probably about seven or eight years. I've written for down the stretch,
Starting point is 01:17:47 and now I provide more content for his podcast than anybody will know other than you probably. On a weekly basis, I just see stuff, and I send him tips. Like, for example, today at Freehold Raceway in New Jersey, an 86-year-old driver won a race. Wow. Can you imagine sitting behind a harness horse?
Starting point is 01:18:05 What's her name, Bojana? No, no. His name was Dandio. Wow, that's incredible. So I sent Peter that right away, and he'll probably find the audio and stuff. But Peter amazes me because he's iconic. I mean, when I played high school basketball for Bloor Collegiate, I remember Peter coming to cover our games and stuff, right?
Starting point is 01:18:23 Sure. And it's just all kind of weird to me that now I'm really good friends with this guy. I feel the same way. That we followed on City TV when we were this big. It's just weird. I feel that way about Mike Majewski. I do. But the thing
Starting point is 01:18:38 that amazes me about Peter is he's in his 70s now and he produces sensational content. No doubt. You're preaching to the choir here. He's just such a good guy.
Starting point is 01:18:49 Well, also, given some of the stories that he shared on Gross and Gallagher Saved the World. Gallagher and Gross Saved the World. That too.
Starting point is 01:18:57 Like, it's incredible. If you listen to one of those, you're going to listen to all of them, right? Yeah. Is there anyone here who has never listened to an episode of Gallagher and Gross Saved the World? Just put up your hand here who has never listened to an episode of Gallagher
Starting point is 01:19:05 and Gross Save the World? Just put up your hand if you've never listened to an episode. Oh, there's a good... Kareem, we're going to fix that, buddy. There we go.
Starting point is 01:19:11 Wow. If you listen to one, you're going to listen to all of them. Yeah, exactly. If you can do a couple of tokes, it probably helps. Kareem can do that.
Starting point is 01:19:20 He can do that. He's holding. Garnet, so you make great lasagna. Peter Gross said that your lasagna is his second favorite lasagna after palm of pasta. Well, I can't really dispute that. But second's good. But mine's different.
Starting point is 01:19:33 I make mine with dozens of tiny little meatballs that I layer. So every time you cut into my lasagna, you get a meatball. Are you single? That's impressive. No, but I could maybe arrange that. It's a little sticky. He'll arrange that for you. Perfect. I saw you leading. I wanted to get you on the mic and thank you for your support.
Starting point is 01:19:53 I know you're going to miss Pandemic Fridays. That goes without saying, right? Absolutely. And it's good to see you again because when the pandemic hit, you stopped recording in my place and I miss you guys. So amazing. Yeah, I miss hitting my head on your ceiling. We'll get to that.
Starting point is 01:20:08 There's a gentleman here who left a blood stain on my ceiling. That's a true story. You can put up as many. You can make that sign as big as you want. I'm still going to hit my head. Thank you, Garnet Barnsdale. A couple people I need to get to now who have things to say about Stu Stone. This is very important.
Starting point is 01:20:24 But thank you so much. And your son. Give him. Where is he? Yeah. Did have things to say about Stu Stone. This is very important, but thank you so much. And, and your son, give him a, where is he? Yeah. Did you want to say hello? Okay.
Starting point is 01:20:29 But you're, you're a good man too. Great. Is he graduated yet? A hundred? One year left. One year left. You're going places because I saw it in action in my base.
Starting point is 01:20:37 And like 25 years younger than anybody. That's right. That's true. That's our demo. Although there's the cream as this child. Oh yeah. It's true. That's our demo. Although there's cream as his child. Oh, yeah, it's true. With some excitement. Shout out to Isaac, who's good friends with my son Jarvis.
Starting point is 01:20:51 He's a fast runner. Shout out to Isaac. He's a good man. Okay, thank you, Garnet. Happy to be here. You're a good man, too. Of course. Two people I see I got to do quickly that are going to say things about Stu Stone.
Starting point is 01:21:02 He'll be appearing at the mall this Christmas if Isaac wants to get a picture now. Yeah, he does look different from the last time I saw him. Isaac can get the picture now before he leaves. What do you want for Christmas? Nothing? Well, that reminds me
Starting point is 01:21:12 of Marcasaur when I get to him. Looks completely different to me than the last time he was at a TMLX event. He doesn't know what I'm talking about because he's not listening.
Starting point is 01:21:19 Liz Brio, get on this microphone. Is that Cambrio's wife? It's $5 shake. No, it's a different spelling. Well, Cambrio's a fake name. You know that. This is a real name. Liz Brio has been in the Toronto
Starting point is 01:21:29 Mike Universe. There's the mic. You can put on the headphones to hear when you're on it. Happy to see everybody. I'm Liz Brio. Liz Brio, everybody. Where do I begin with Liz Brio? Wow. What do you think of Stu Stone? I think he's a bit of an asshole.
Starting point is 01:21:46 Yeah. Trudy? Oh, look at Trudy's face. Trudy, would you mind covering your ears for two minutes? Listen, dude, I mean, I'm just gauging my response on your input. And I know that was sort of a bit of a ferocious when I attempted, And I know that was sort of a bit of a ferocious when I attempted, because I kept anecdotally hearing that there was this pandemic Friday thing.
Starting point is 01:22:11 And, you know, I mean, I save lives for a living. So I thought, well, I'll dumb it down and listen to this bullshit. We're here to help. Yeah, so I thought, who the fuck is this dude he needs a punch in the fucking face and I'm so delighted
Starting point is 01:22:30 to meet you but wait wait wait Liz if I remember correctly didn't you have the same reaction to Elvis um no that was more that was more
Starting point is 01:22:41 a substantive engagement about Bloodstones oh no I know the sandals yeah That was more a substantive engagement about Blundstones. Oh, no, I know. The sandals. Yeah. Yeah, so there was a Blundstones issue, and I don't even know the origin story about that.
Starting point is 01:22:55 Okay, that was different. But is it, okay, so you're a Toronto Mike fan. I have been. Mike, how long have we been together? It's got to be 12. 15? Okay. Yeah, because, I mean, I was speaking with your lovely Brian Mike I know Monica I know your man longer than you do that is
Starting point is 01:23:12 true that is true yeah and and I'm the asshole we didn't ask to hear from you so you might want to put your shit down, dude. Fair, fair, fair. Wow. Yeah. Security, security. Yeah, so I work also, it's probably fair to kind of say that I work with people with extreme mental health. Wow, there you go. And addiction and such, and I have resources, so we're going to ask you to step out of this one.
Starting point is 01:23:41 Or participate, whatever makes sense. No, I remember way before there was a podcast, I remember Liz Brio, Stephanie Wilkinson, who hopefully we say hi to soon, Rick C. in Oakville. These are the OGs
Starting point is 01:23:52 of this universe, totally. And you've been there for so long. And the podcast, you enjoyed the podcast, and then you tuned in to a Pandemic Friday
Starting point is 01:24:01 to sample what is this Pandemic Friday. Yeah, and I really hated it and stepped out. Yeah, you hated it and you never went back. I really did. What is it about Stu you didn't like? Stu, talk to me. Talk to me, baby. Talk to me. You don't want me to.
Starting point is 01:24:14 Show me on the door while it hurts. What is it about Stu that turned you off? Just these nonsensical just what the fuck are you talking? Wait, can I interject? Please.
Starting point is 01:24:30 No, I'll say this. So, Liz hates Pandemic Fridays. No, no, no. Why do you hate Stu? Wrong framing. Wrong framing. I'm going to suggest that. You hate Cam, too, right?
Starting point is 01:24:42 No, I love Cam. Okay. Thank you. No, no, I think your energy is just if it were a little more authentic and not trying to be something you're not. Oh, shit. A little sticky. Wow.
Starting point is 01:24:54 Because you have tremendous value. I'll take it. No, I know, but this is sort of in my moment. No, it's fine. My mom says I've needed to talk to someone for years, so here we go. Mom, it's happening.
Starting point is 01:25:09 So let's stick to the script. Stu's not for everybody. Will you accept the skip? Those who like Stu like him a lot. I think it's more ethical. Polarizing. So, Mike, I'm going to circumvent your show. I'm going to circumvent your show. I'm going to
Starting point is 01:25:25 offer why I've stayed with the value of the Toronto Mike podcast and the Toronto Mike blogs, which I, you know, many, many, many years ago, Mike would say to me,
Starting point is 01:25:42 well, I get, no, let me reframe this. I'll I'll pull it back this way I once had a different life where I would participate meaningfully in Toronto Mike's blog and you would just know me as Liz if you've been a legacy person and then I made some life changes and and this is the power of the community that we built I asked to speak to Mike uh he actually called me on the phone whoa the phone and I said are your kids okay are you okay and then I went ahead with making a very big life decision to leave my husband, my wonderful, beautiful husband, after 23 years.
Starting point is 01:26:28 26 years together and Mike's been a sort of steward of helpfulness for me through that. Not that I really need it a lot because once I make a decision, but the support and the touch points in terms of all of the Mikes that I really need it a lot, because once I make a decision, but the support and the touch points in terms of all of the mics that I don't have time to through his 95,000 episodes and his 44,000 kids. I mean, this dude makes things happen. So, Mike, heartfelt thanks for our relationship and your support. And, dude, you are crushing some shit. And plus your wife is super smoking hot. That's true.
Starting point is 01:27:27 We can both agree on that one. Thank you, Liz. Honestly, thank you very much. Very kind. What a sweetheart. Anyway. Thank you so much. Anyway, so is Soul Asylum a grunge band? Wait, while we're in the let's attack stew mode, I just have one more guest. Oh, jeez. Line him up. Is Joe Louis in the house?
Starting point is 01:27:44 Is Joe Louis here? Let's just get this over with like a band-aid and let's just do it. Okay. How are you, man? All right. All right. That was a lovely sentiment from Liz, but can we get back to hating Stu fucking Stone? Because that's what most of us are here for.
Starting point is 01:28:03 Joe, I got to meet you at TMLX7 in the park. Not even Cam and Stu attended TMLX7. Not even Monica attended TMLX7. But it was great to see you there, and you shared a story, which I actually remember you messaging me about it. But in your own words, why do you hate Stu Stone? He ruined my fucking life. There's no other way to
Starting point is 01:28:30 say it. Plus one. It's a piece of shit that ruined my life. I'm pretty sure God beat me to that. This Liz Brio Joe Louis back-to-back is wonderful. Why did I ruin your life? What the hell did I do? I'll start off by saying another FOTM, Carlo D,
Starting point is 01:28:48 who will pick up the podcast later on. Carlo D, he introduced me to the show. But he did explain, as we were talking about beers, I explained to him the difficulty I was having with people creeping up to my house on Kirby Road. Oh, that's why you don't like me. Oh, wow. In the middle of the night looking for the haunted house
Starting point is 01:29:08 and I would ask these people, how old are you? I'm 26. There's no fucking haunted houses, man. For those who don't know, Stu Stone... That's a good reason to hate me. I'm okay with that.
Starting point is 01:29:22 That means people watch the movie. Yeah, tell everybody. That's a good sign. What movie are we talking about with that. That means people watch the movie. Yeah, tell everybody. That's a good sign. What movie are we talking about? It was called The Haunted House on Kirby Road, which is based on his street. And apparently, yeah, people are showing up on the street all the time and knocking on your door. Well, they've dwindled. So how did you find...
Starting point is 01:29:40 Joe Louis, how did you find out... Well, I stopped playing on Hollywood Suite. That's what happened. How did you find out that the Stu Stone you hate from The Haunted House on Kirby Road, how did you find out that guy was the voice you'd hear on... Because Liz ratted me out. Well, Carlo D, as we were talking about the...
Starting point is 01:29:57 Carlo D. Yeah, the trials that I was going through with these losers coming up to my house in the middle of the night said, you know, Stu Stone is on Toronto Mike. Sorry, who's Carlo D? This is another FOTM? Yeah, he's never been. I don't think he's been to one of the events, but he's a regular listener.
Starting point is 01:30:15 He's in the mix. Definitely. Dude, Joe Louis, I just love having anyone on the fourth mic who wants to rag on Stu Stone. But it sounds like that's out of love. It just comes so naturally, really. No, no, no no that's not a person don't take that's not the thing personally take the liz brio thing that was personal yes right remember you know sheila kanesawich agreed with liz brio so i i always tell people oh not you i thought someone over there you said no we don't want to show up moose Grumpy. We're going to get her on the mic in a minute. Okay, good.
Starting point is 01:30:45 I like you too. Moose Grumpy is a fan of yours. See, this is where it all goes bad. It has to end. The Moose Trucks. Joe Louis, it was great meeting you at TMLX7. Thanks for having me. Thanks for being at TMLX8.
Starting point is 01:30:58 Thanks for that story. I love that story. Thanks, man. We'll get a photo of you two later. Come to the post-mortem at Queensway Park afterwards. Five dollars, you can punch me in the face. All proceeds go to the Peter Gross Bison Pop Fund. Okay, remember, Bob Willett, don't leave.
Starting point is 01:31:14 You've got to let me know if you're going to leave, because you've got to come on. Bob, save me. They're going to kill me here. Can Michael Lang come on the mic, please? Michael Lang. Langer. The Langer Banger. This is a big deal.
Starting point is 01:31:22 He's in the exclusive club with Al Grego. By the way, so many Blue Jay hats. The Wu Lang Clan. I'm like, come on. That's all. Flock of Seagulls t-shirt, Blue Jay. Oh, my God. You know, Gord Depp.
Starting point is 01:31:33 Gord Depp is a guitarist with Flock of Seagulls. You know that FOTM Gord Depp from The Spoon. He was in Northern Lights. So, just a little background, and I don't get to many shows these days because I have so many children. Oh, is Chi leaving? Because Chi has to go on the mic. Is Chi leaving?
Starting point is 01:31:46 She's an FOTM. Michael Lang, step aside. Chi, come on. And then we'll do Michael Lang. So don't go too far. I won't go too far. Don't go too far
Starting point is 01:31:54 because Chi's leaving. Chi is a great FOTM. Chi seems into it. So Chi can't leave until she jumps on this fourth one. Why are you doing this to her?
Starting point is 01:32:06 Is she going to talk shit about me too? She wants to talk about how much... Try to slip out. Let me try this again. I practiced it. When Chi had her episode, which was only a couple of months ago... What's up, man? Chiñere?
Starting point is 01:32:18 Chiñere. I fuck it up every time. Watch the language. La, la, la. Oh, my God. Jeez. I swear around Jarvis all the time. Mike working blue tonight.
Starting point is 01:32:29 Chignere? You know, it sounds good, but no. Do it one more time. Chignere. Chignere. Or chi for short. Nice and easy. So forever I've been calling you chi.
Starting point is 01:32:41 Chi, you can't go wrong. So let me connect some dots here for everybody. Kareem, who's a fixture on Pandemic Fridays. Kareem is your husband. Yes, he is. So you live next door to me. I do. I thought I recognized you.
Starting point is 01:32:54 Yes, yes. You know, just a little fence, little kiddage. I recognize this guy. Okay. And Chi, your episode of Toronto Mic mike i got so much feedback about how inspirational how inspirational it was yeah just to hear about your life and what you've overcome and here you are kicking ass yeah taking names like honestly every time i have i don't know like like actually showing up but every time i have i don't know there's something in my life where it's like, oh, this is difficult or whatever.
Starting point is 01:33:26 I'm like, look what fucking Chi went through. Come on, you're working blue. Jeez, man. You're killing me. I love you, but. I didn't realize. Okay. No, thanks.
Starting point is 01:33:40 You say la la la. Can I have some real talk? Kareem was too nice, but what do you think of your neighbor? Monica. Having microphones on the back porch. Oh my God. People yelling in the backyard. You like?
Starting point is 01:33:54 So I am cool and in the know near Mimico because of Toronto Mike. New Toronto is not quite Mimico, but it's getting there. So Mike's lucky then. Yes. Yeah, the cool factor. So thank you for the cool factor, for the amazing guests, for the sprinkle of Mitchie Mee, for the yacht rock, for the pandemic Fridays, you know.
Starting point is 01:34:16 There's some good stuff going on. And I get to be cool by association. Well, thank you for giving me that interview where I got to talk to you about your life, which is amazing. Everybody should find the Chi episode of Toronto Mic'd. And listen, it's amazing. So inspirational. Honestly, so inspirational.
Starting point is 01:34:31 Do you want some rolling papers for your son? Look at that. Oh, my gosh. Maybe not just yet. Talk to you in a few years, kid. Maybe a vaccine soon. That'll be good. I'll give him a round of applause for that.
Starting point is 01:34:42 Did you at least get some palm up pasta? You got some palm up pasta oh he did this one who's eating us out of house and home had a whole one to himself so applause great boy
Starting point is 01:34:50 shout out to Isaac okay thank you so much for being here thank you see you buddy I'll see you on the secret street we live on and I will definitely hear ya
Starting point is 01:34:59 there you go thank you so much everyone congrats that was great that's Chi everybody you have great neighbors. Where's Bojana? Is she going to be here?
Starting point is 01:35:07 I invited Bojana. I'm disappointed she's not here. We're actually going to cook up gas now. All this, we're going to cook up gas. Michael Lang, come on back. I'm sorry. The Langer Banger. I had to kick you off.
Starting point is 01:35:15 I saw Chi leaving. We're going to cook up gas. Miker. Hello. Two things about Michael Lang. One is if I go to any kind of, and I don't get out that often, right, Monica? One is if I go to any kind of, and I don't get out that often, right, Monica? But if I go to any like CanCon 90s alt-rock band in concert, which I like to do, be it, I don't know, Lowest of the Low or The Watchmen or Rusty.
Starting point is 01:35:35 I'm going to see Michael Lang. He's there. He's there. It's not Dave Hodge I see. I see Michael Lang. Absolutely. I'm seeing the box in a couple of weeks. There's going to be 50 people in this bowling alley going to see the box.
Starting point is 01:35:47 It's going to be incredible. And you're one of the 50. Yes, I'm one of the 50. You guys will be closer together. Yes, indeed. Thank you. So the other thing I want to say about Michael Lang is that he's one of three human beings other than myself who have been at every single TMLX event. This is your eighth.
Starting point is 01:36:04 This is your eighth. Al Grego, we had on earlier. There's you. Rush, Mike, get your ass over here. You're taking over for Michael Lange when he's done. Mike, I just want to tell you, Lange, I fucking love your contributions. I love seeing you on the live stream. Are you okay with the fact that I've decided to kill Pandemic Fridays? Does that make me a bad guy?
Starting point is 01:36:21 Be honest, man. Actually, you know what? I'm fine with it because I didn't listen to half of them. And I want to say that I don't think Cam Gordon gets enough love on the show. Let's love Cam Gordon. Absolutely. Cam Gordon never gets enough love. And his Tears Are Not Enough deep dives.
Starting point is 01:36:37 And School's Out. Honestly, couldn't do them without you. And 75 other songs that we've never heard. And if I can shout out a special FOTM who's here tonight. Oh my god, who? It's his birthday. It's me. Happy birthday.
Starting point is 01:36:55 Thank you. Michael Lang, everybody. Scratch my back with a hacksaw. Mike Lang. 21 tonight. I'm still in my 40s. Looking good, baby.
Starting point is 01:37:09 We're cooking with gas now because at 8.30 I want us to say our farewells. We're really going to rock and roll here. Rush Mike. Wow. This is the Twitter denier. I must say, this is the best Rush shirt. I love this version of the Rush logo.
Starting point is 01:37:27 Just kind of, because that's like 73 Rush. That's the first album. This is where it began. Love it. How many TMLX events have you been at, Mike? Eight. Eight! This man is eight for eight.
Starting point is 01:37:39 Not Andy can say that. Sorry, James, you can't say that. We'll get to you in a minute here, but no one else can say that. Eight for James. You can't say that. We'll get to you in a minute here. But no one else can say that. Eight for eight. Dude, I love your support. I love the fact you refuse to go on Twitter. Like, you're just not going to do it.
Starting point is 01:37:53 Why? No, it's not that I refuse. It's just... Well, you have refused. It's been around since, like, 08 or something. And you haven't done it. I'm winding down my MySpace account. And then once that's done... I'm still in your top eight.
Starting point is 01:38:05 I'm in your top eight, though, right? Ironically, I think it's ironic. Maybe Alanis Morissette would say I'm misusing that term. But your wife is like a social media influencer. Yes, she is. Dana Levinson? Yes, she is. Are you married to Dana Levinson?
Starting point is 01:38:21 Not that I'm aware of. Oh, you're Jennifer. Oh, my God.. I didn't. Yeah. Oh, my God. Of course. Yes. Actually.
Starting point is 01:38:29 Who's been to the Twitter. Actually. All the shows and everything. She's great. You're an Ed Tinger. And in a moment, we're going to talk to an Ed Singer. Perfect. Very close. Only one constant.
Starting point is 01:38:38 Pandemic Friday fan, though. Yes, sir. And I want to say the best part of it. I love the menacing pictures that are taken after the shows. Those are the best. There's some good pics there. And I'm almost a Thornhill guy because I grew up at Leslie and Steele's. Hey, that counts.
Starting point is 01:38:54 That counts. The shop's on Steele's. Yeah, Laura Leaf Plaza. Laura Leaf Plaza. There's LCBO there now. Were you friends with Gian Gomeschi? No. But were you on the south side?
Starting point is 01:39:06 I was on the south side. Okay. Yeah, so I see Cam kind of just... Or Richard Chang. Do you know Richard Chang? No, he doesn't. Andrew won me now. Mike, oh, man, what do I say to a great...
Starting point is 01:39:19 Well, James is a big Rush guy, too. James has the body paint. There we go, right there. Starman. We'll get to James for sure. But 8 for 8, love seeing you at these events. I mean, you even come to the park events. That's awesome.
Starting point is 01:39:33 It's a commitment. Your support is so freaking awesome, and I'm so glad you listen. And, man, just thank you so much. Thank you. Thank you. You know, when all this started, March 2020, my family was in the U.S. So I was on my own. And, you know, we were talking about mental health and being on your own. Like I did fine. I was really busy with work. But honestly, the pandemic, I look forward to it every week.
Starting point is 01:39:57 Wow. And it was good. So thank you, guys. What are you going to do now? Spiral into the spirit? Well, he's going to move to Kingston. I'm thinking. I'm thinking. You want to do that now? Okay. Let's do it now before Bob.
Starting point is 01:40:10 Because Bob's got to – he lives way east. This is the big announcement. So, Rush Mike, thanks so much, buddy. Thank you. This is a big moment here. All right. Thank you. Take care, man.
Starting point is 01:40:17 And then we're going to cook with gas again, but this is a big moment. Pleasure. Oh, my God. I wish I had like – This is it, man. This is it. I wish I had seven hours. Wow.
Starting point is 01:40:24 So, this is a big fucking moment. Let the record show like Greco is still lurking inside the paper. Dine Alone Records, that's where the bros are with Dine Alone. That's right, yeah. Sheepdogs. I had them over the other day. Yeah, yeah. The bros are with...
Starting point is 01:40:38 Sheepdogs are with Warner, but the two brothers are with Dine Alone. That's great. Great episode. You need to listen to the jam kicking by Bros because it's right up your alley. It's just awesome. Yes, it's the most recent episode, but I sincerely think you will love it.
Starting point is 01:40:53 I'll check it for sure. First of all, may I just say congratulations on all your episodes, by the way. Thank you very much for putting them together. I mean, I've really only listened to the ones I was on, but still it was very good. I believe that to be true. You were on a Pandemic Friday
Starting point is 01:41:09 episode though. Shock G passed away. We were both in such mourning when Shock G died. I had to get you on the program. We almost had VP of Sales, but he couldn't make it. Okay, so this is a big moment. Bob Ouellette, you are now the program director for a cluster moment. Bob Ouellette. Don't let me down, Bob.
Starting point is 01:41:29 You are now the program director for a cluster of stations in Kingston, Ontario. Correct, with Chorus Entertainment, Big FM and Fresh FM in Kingston, the number one and number three radio stations in the market. Thank you. No thanks to you, because you just got there. No, no, no, totally. It's all me. It's all me.
Starting point is 01:41:40 It's all me. And there's a woman named Monica. Yeah, Monica does the morning show. Not your Monica. Hi, Monica. Nice to see you. And there's a woman named Monica. Yeah, Monica does the morning show. Not your Monica. Hi, Monica. Nice to see you. And is there an opening to co-host with Monica? So we've done some rebuilding whilst I've been there.
Starting point is 01:41:53 I've taken the one station from three to one, the other one from seven to three in the eight months I've been there. I know it's not all me. I'm kidding. But yeah, and in doing so, we actually do have a morning show co-host opening on Fresh FM, on Fresh Radio. So, Stu, who I love, by the way, like a brother, but he is very, like, into, like, shtick. Yes. Where I'm all, let me finish.
Starting point is 01:42:14 I'm into the real talk, like authenticity. Right. And I have trouble sometimes differentiating between. Did Liz write this speech video? Hold on. Are we just going to tear Stu down tonight? Trying to get me a job here. What the hell, man?
Starting point is 01:42:26 Hold on. No, I'm saying I need the real goods here. I think all these FOTMs deserve the real goods. Is there any possibility that Stu Stone will become the morning man alongside Monica in Kingston? I think it's a very good possibility. We're in negotiations as we speak. The real announcement is though that I'm going to continue
Starting point is 01:42:49 Pandemic Fridays on Bob's basement. That's the real announcement. We're going to call it Post Pandemic Fridays. Yes, baby, that's the announcement. Me and Bobby, baby! Here we go! We're taking it over! Taking it over, Bob's basement! Stinger!
Starting point is 01:43:09 I love the look on his face. It's so good. Wait till he hears the first episode. Songs that Mike would never play on his show. There you go! And our first guest, Liz, she's gonna light it up. You'll come on. Perfect. She's gonna kick out j gems that will make Stu cry That's it
Starting point is 01:43:25 Is this a work Is this a work To quote Cam Gordon Is this a work or a shoot This is not a work, this is a shoot You never say, you never say A magician never reveals this Let's just say that tomorrow
Starting point is 01:43:43 August the 28th I am a free agent. There you go. Perfect. Let's do it. Cam seems surprised by this news. Oh, Cam hasn't been involved yet. We're going to talk about Now Magazine. This is going to be awesome. You guys will be talking about tears are not
Starting point is 01:43:59 enough. You enjoy yourself. And we're going to get Andy on the show to talk again about Schools Out, the Degrassi movie. Although Bob would probably dig that himself. Yeah, I could definitely be an expert on that as well. Post-pandemic Fridays, I love it. So that's a great announcement about post-pandemic Fridays.
Starting point is 01:44:16 But are you truly, like don't bullshit me, are you really... By the way, sponsored by Barb Paluszkiewicz. Yeah, actually that's the only reason I came is to get sponsors for Bob's basement. By the way, I by Barb Paluszkiewicz. Yeah, actually, that's the only reason I came, is to get sponsors for Bob's Basement. By the way, I can share my numbers. It's pretty good. It's on the Toronto Mike Digital Network.
Starting point is 01:44:30 I don't know if you know that. TMDS. Hosted by Ian Service. There you go. Is there any possibility Stu Stone is on the radio in Kingston? He already told me. I told you, yes. I can't afford him right now.
Starting point is 01:44:43 We're working on something. He wants to do a movie. I don't know what's going on. We're working on it. I wants to do a movie. I don't know what's going on. I'm talking to his people. Do you still want the gig? I do. We've talked. This would be the big announcement at the finale.
Starting point is 01:44:52 We just made the announcement. We're going to be doing a post-pandemic Friday. On Bob's basement. Yes. It's not a joke. I still have access to Periscope. This is all live. Who's watching Periscope? This is not a joke. I still have access to Periscope. This is all like live. That's not a joke.
Starting point is 01:45:07 Who's watching Periscope though? This is not a joke. This is the real deal announcement. That's true. We are. I'm going to do it. I'm going to do it. See, that's the problem.
Starting point is 01:45:15 I don't know if you're being truthful or not. See, did you, the boy who cries wolf, did you ever read that? Of course. Leave it at that. That's it. That's it. You know what? Who hosts Bob's Basement?
Starting point is 01:45:26 Bob. Do you think I'm fucking hosting post-pandemic Fridays in Bob's Basement? Well, we have a different, we're working that out. We got Ian is going to come join us. We're going to build a new stream. We do need a judge. Oh, yeah. We got Lessee.
Starting point is 01:45:41 They're all coming. Lessees are welcome. Stop the music. Stop the rock and roll. Mike Majewski is buying 70 beers. Yeah, yeah. Let's see. They're all coming. FOSs are welcome. Stop the music. Stop the rock and roll. Mike Majeski's buying 70 beers. I don't think so. I don't think so. I don't think so.
Starting point is 01:45:48 I don't think so. I don't think so. I don't think so. I don't think so. I don't think so. I don't think so. I don't think so. Exactly.
Starting point is 01:45:49 Guys, there's going to be a cutoff for beer. I don't know if Ben... When's the cutoff? Oh, yeah. Can I get one of the free beers? You can buy tokens now. You can't get beer after 8.30, so get some of that Majeski beer now. He bought...
Starting point is 01:46:04 Mark, are you taking care of yourself? Go get some beers. Go get Joe Louis loading up on beer. Everybody get a beer. Bob, I'm cooking with gas with the rest of the kids on the spot. Is there any chance Trudy will jump on the fourth, Mike?
Starting point is 01:46:18 Thank you very much for having me. Next week, post-pandemic Fridays. Bob's the best. He's a good man. Cam, let me know if you want a spot. Soft hands. He's got soft hands. Can you help tilt it down for your mom there? You move the shock mount, not the actual mic.
Starting point is 01:46:36 Okay, you owe me $330. Hi, everybody. That's my mom, everybody. This is Sue Stone's mom. And that's my middle child. I don't really talk about him too much. But Trudy's a bit of a famous person because you appear in all these movies.
Starting point is 01:46:53 I see you on Faking and Murderous. I see you on Jack of All Trades. Stuart pays me well. It's called nothing. Trade secrets. Trudy. I have to tell you, though. She listened every week.
Starting point is 01:47:10 I listen to your show every week. Oh, my goodness. I really do. I've learned a lot about music that I didn't know about. That's when Cam plays a song. Cancer bats. I love the fun facts. Yes. And I actually pass some of them on.
Starting point is 01:47:23 I really appreciated being, because I was alone for a long time during the pandemic until Stuart came up north. And this really helped me a lot to get through it because I was alone. And as everyone said,
Starting point is 01:47:37 it was just great. Thank you. I appreciate it. Trudy, thank you. No one will kill that one. Trudy, honestly, knowing that Stu Stone's mom was listening always made me a little nervous. Why? Because sometimes we give Stu a hard time, and I'm always worried.
Starting point is 01:47:53 It's okay. I give him a hard time, too. I'm just joshing him. Because the fact is... Excuse me, but sometimes he is an asshole. Thank you, Liz. Thank you, Liz, she says. Cosign. My mom and Liz. Thank you, Liz, she says. Cosign.
Starting point is 01:48:08 My mom and Liz are moving in together. my mom had the good idea to leave before I could put her on the fourth mic. But, Judy,
Starting point is 01:48:15 thank you for listening and I'm sorry it had to end, but... But you can make friends with my mom. She wants to meet all of you,
Starting point is 01:48:21 so make sure you do. Come to the post-mortem. Don't... Please, you can be friends with her, but don't try to fix her up with Peter Gross. That's Anne Sandy. Peter's a nice guy. He can have Anne Sandy.
Starting point is 01:48:32 Peter's a nice guy. That takes a lot. Trudy, thank you so much. Trudy, that's Stu's mom, everybody. Thank you. Barry, jump on. But from now on, it's two minutes every guest. We're going to go rapid fire here.
Starting point is 01:48:42 Rapid fire. Hello, Mike. Barry, let's jog people's memory. You are an FOTM. You have been on an episode of Toronto Mike. Which episode were you on? The least famous episode of Toronto Mike. Can you be more specific? The Stephen Caldwell
Starting point is 01:48:58 episode. That's a big time episode. Thank you, Stephen Caldwell on the back. So I reached out to Mike and somehow said, hey, you know what? I know Stephen Caldwell on the back. So I reached out to Mike and somehow said, hey, you know what? I know Stephen Caldwell and he'd like to be on the show. And so Mike says, yeah, that'd be great. Bring him over. I don't think he meant that I would actually physically bring him over
Starting point is 01:49:13 and then walk into the house and show up on the show. And Mike put me on. So thanks, Mike. That was fantastic. Barry, you're a good man. We've enjoyed a couple of meals together in the call. You're a great guy. I want to tell the the world tell the fotms that your blood is still on the ceiling uh in my studio it is right there somewhere that's right so you got up quickly and you hit your head on the ceiling and
Starting point is 01:49:36 somehow it actually like you bled i did bleed so so when you're doing the show he's got the fantastic great lakes brewery product there. And because it was mostly Stephen and him, so I'm just sitting there one, two, three, and then all of a sudden it's like, uh-oh. So without thinking, I just kind of get up and wham, right in the middle of my head, he's got the smallest basement in New Toronto. I find the basement to be quite comfortable. I actually was naked a few weeks ago in the basement. That's right. And Peter Groh has never seen me complain in the basement. That's right.
Starting point is 01:50:05 And Peter Gross never seemed to complain about that basement, as I recall. Barry, dude, you're just a great, great FOTM, and I'm so glad you're here. And you brought your wife here, too. So hello to Barry's wife. Thank you. Thanks, Mike.
Starting point is 01:50:19 First time, long time. Thanks, buddy. Appreciate it. Great job, guys. Glad you came out, buddy. Thank you. Again, two minutes, everybody. Two-minute cap.
Starting point is 01:50:24 We're going rapid fire here. Super, super fast. So many different people. Who is next? Moose Grumpy, get your butt over here. Yeah. And then I'm going to hit up the gourds. I want both gourds.
Starting point is 01:50:35 I really want to have time before we close up to play at least a snippet of a song. Yeah, we will. Just a 30-second taste. What, are they going to arrest us if we go over 830? No, we will. Like just a 30-second taste. What, are they going to arrest us if we go over 8.30? No, no. Dusting. I told them we'd be gone by 9, but we can get out of here quickly. All right, now angle it here.
Starting point is 01:50:52 Oh, she's got something prepared. Wait a minute. By the way, grumpy is not a good way to describe someone who's so cheerful all the time I've seen you. Every time I see you, you're smiling. You're way too nice. Thank you. I don't want to... Okay, let me just make a message. Zinger, don't go anywhere.
Starting point is 01:51:09 You're up after Moose Grumpy. Don't go anywhere. Go ahead, Moose. Kareem, don't go anywhere. As the unofficial host of the chat group tonight, I have a shout-out from Joku Ruru. Oh, that's my guy. He was very sorry he couldn't be here tonight
Starting point is 01:51:25 and wanted to make sure that Stu got a shout out. Yes, I got it. Yes, so needed. No one ever notices Stu on this program. It's because I'm hidden behind this mic. And Steve Laggett also sends. Oh, yeah. He's not here.
Starting point is 01:51:41 I met him once at George Bell Arena. Good guy. Good guy. He is a good guy. Those are my shout outs okay pause don't leave the mic because I want to talk to you
Starting point is 01:51:48 I'm going to read a message I got this is exciting and then you have to guess who you think sent it I'm super sad to miss the big finale on Friday
Starting point is 01:51:55 I imagine there might be some mixed feelings as Pandemic Fridays come to a close after so many many weeks I know your loyal loyal listeners are sad to see it go.
Starting point is 01:52:06 And I just want to add my thanks for what you do. Cam and Stu, what you, Cam and Stu, did week to week. I wish I could read. You entertained us. You educated us. And most importantly, you made us laugh out loud during some very hard times. Give yourselves a pat on the back and be proud of that.
Starting point is 01:52:23 It's pretty cool that you could do that for people. All I did was watch a lot of Netflix and work on puzzles during lockdown. So a big congratulations to the best trio of music fun fact finders there is. And I hope you guys get some well-deserved rest in the coming weeks. Anyone have a guess who wrote that note to me today? Molly Johnson. Molly Johnson is not correct. Bruce Arthur. Bruce Arthur is a good guess. You have a guess and wrote that note to me today? Molly Johnson. Molly Johnson is not correct. Bruce Arthur.
Starting point is 01:52:46 Bruce Arthur is a good guess. You have a guess, and then I'll reveal. I don't. Ladies and gentlemen, that note came to me today from MF. Wow. Whoa. Whoa. Wow.
Starting point is 01:52:59 Nice. Shocking. She was happy to get Cam out of the house once a week. Well, she's not even here right now. That was great. So thank you, MF, for that. Honestly, that lovely note. She's out of town.
Starting point is 01:53:12 She couldn't be here today. She's a working lady. Moose Grumpy, you've been a supporter for a long time and one of the valued FOTMs. I want to thank you for everything you do. You're always out there willing to help out with these events and you're just a
Starting point is 01:53:27 fantastic person and I'm glad we got to meet through this. We're going to go to the Doobie Brothers concert next year, right? Yes. Is that happening?
Starting point is 01:53:34 Oh, yeah. I'm happy. The Doobie Brown. Bounce. I just wanted to say thank you guys for this too. It was a hard pandemic and this was something
Starting point is 01:53:42 to look forward to. Thank you to Tim for the chat room. He answered it. It made a difference pandemic, and this was something to look forward to. Thank you to Tim for the chat room. He answered it. It made a difference every week to have this time to chat with people. But what are you going to do now that it's over? What do you do on a Thursday night now? I suggested in the chat group we should pick a time and just get together.
Starting point is 01:53:59 Because when else are we going to see the Quebec boys? Right. Double D is there. The gourds. The VP of sales hasn't had us over to the Gazebo yet. Oh, that Gazebo is nice. Kev hasn't had us to the pool. You know what?
Starting point is 01:54:12 I got to burn. Loose Grumpy, we love you, man. Thanks so much for your support. Thank you. YYZ Gord, can you come to the microphone? And then I'm going to do Midtown Gord. And we're going to burn here. This was my fear.
Starting point is 01:54:24 We would run out of time. Too many great FOTMs came out tonight. She'll be listening to the Bob's Basement show. Yes. I'm going to delete that XML file. Stew and Moose in the mornings.
Starting point is 01:54:40 YYZ Gord, remind me again why I can't call you YYZ Gord. Hey, good to see you. Because the airport is YYZ. Is that true me again why I can't call you YYZ Gord. Hey, good to see you. Because the airport is YYZ. Is that true, though? In my view, the airport's YYZ. What is the Rush song? What?
Starting point is 01:54:54 I think it's YYZ. Where's the... Rush doesn't know what they're talking about. The airport is for sure YYZ. You can be Zed if you want to do A, B, C, D, E, F, G. But if you're talking about an airport, it's YYZ. So, Gord. Stu agrees.
Starting point is 01:55:11 Yes. The fuss agrees that this is the right. Yes. Gord, I got to meet you at TMLX7. That's true. You and Tom showed up. It was fantastic to meet you both. Notice that Stu didn't show up, even though he was in town.
Starting point is 01:55:24 I came here. It was a to meet you both. Notice that Stu didn't show up, even though he was in town. I came here. It was a close call. He showed up on time this time. Yes. Yeah, that is true. He made a grand entrance. Thank you, though. I love your comments.
Starting point is 01:55:37 And I notice also I see you on Hebsey on sports as well. Yeah, I've been lurking on that. I'm not a sports fan, but I am enjoying the energy from Hebsey and you keeping him honest on some of his points. I feel like that's what 1236 says. Hebsey on sports is the perfect podcast for people who don't even like sports.
Starting point is 01:56:02 I think that's what Levi Fumka said. Peter Gross is coming back. I have some special instructions here. Juan's going to do the last 20 minutes. Here's the announcement. Do not avoid
Starting point is 01:56:19 the brown acid. Is that the announcement? Here's the announcement. That's a Woodstock joke, everybody. Majeski bought another round. Midtown Gordon. Midtown Gordon
Starting point is 01:56:29 gets the Woodstock joke. This is important. He was there. If you want to buy any product at Great Lakes who have been amazing hosts and we need to support them because it's been
Starting point is 01:56:39 a shitty pandemic for them too, just like Palma Plaza, you need to buy it now. I think that this is the time to buy stuff before they close up in there.ata. You need to buy it now. I think that this is the time to buy stuff before they close up in there. So if you want to buy your case of beer.
Starting point is 01:56:50 YYZgourd, how much does Tom enjoy Toronto Mike? Does Tom enjoy it as much as Juan? Probably about the same. I would say he tolerates it. He hates Stu as well?
Starting point is 01:57:06 I think he's a Stuart fan. He's a fan. He's a fan. What about your friend from Houston? Actually, you will see in your account, I actually paid the full price to buy it on iTunes from the U.S. today. $9.99 is coming your way. I got some rolling papers for you, man.
Starting point is 01:57:21 Give him something. And help yourself to some Hollywood sweet stuff. Help yourself. Please, you deserve it. I don't use these, but they're pretty cool. Very nice. Thank you. I enjoyed it.
Starting point is 01:57:32 Is your friend from Houston angry you brought her to this? Is she okay? I think she appreciated the pasta. She's angry. Oh, and your shirt, that's for Al Grego, right? Yeah, that's a Letterkenny thing. Wow. Shout out to the Proud Houston. My friend from Houston bought that right? That's the Letter Kenny. Yeah, that's a Letter Kenny thing. Wow. Shout out to the Prado stand.
Starting point is 01:57:46 My friend from Houston bought that. She appreciates the true Canadian. Prado stand. I had the t-shirt on earlier today. You know Mattress Mac? That's my boy. I did a rap song with him. You know that?
Starting point is 01:57:55 Oh. Mattress Mac. If there's a hurricane, you get your mattress for free. I got a king size. Saves you money. Yeah. Thank you, YYZ Gord. I need another Gord, though.
Starting point is 01:58:05 We've got to pass it on to the other Gords. There's another Gord here. Not to be confused, but we'll pass it on. Well, I have, by the way. In the early days, I did confuse you guys a little bit. We're both Midtown, but I know my airports. Midtown Gord, who, as he comes to the microphone, I remember Midtown Gord as, like, the guy who,
Starting point is 01:58:21 if you go into the rock pile at Etobicoke. I was going to say Lee Aaron t-shirt. Like that gets it random. Okay, yeah. Let's give it up. Yeah, I wore this on purpose. Huge. To remind people how Lee Aaron got on your show, I guess. Oh. Sass Jordan
Starting point is 01:58:40 shirt was in the laundry. Sass Jordan was at the rock pile one time hanging out when I was... Okay, but get closer. That's why you wear the headphones, my friend. Kiss that. Midtown Gord, you're still like a metal... like an unabashed metal head.
Starting point is 01:58:52 Yeah, a lot of the songs that you guys play on Pandemic Fridays, I don't know. For the most part. We need to play more... Except maybe Metallica. See, hero of the day, right? But it still wasn't the right choice. He knows.
Starting point is 01:59:05 I was going to say, like, every song... Nothing wrong with Metallica. Don't get me wrong. I thought we had something there. But Midtown Gourd, again, I got your notes about Lee Aaron and other artists of that ilk. Right. And I love your contributions to the FOTM KOTJs.
Starting point is 01:59:18 Thank you. Which I should probably bring back at some point here. Dude, thank you so much for just being a member of the community, for being a great FOTM. And I love the fact that i have multiple gourds here yeah i know but it should be yyz i do yeah it is like what is like like the rush song yes we're in canada i guess we're subbed yyz we're subdivided there so so gourd when you put on your sony walkman later today what's gonna be in there? Is it going to be Judas Priest? It could be
Starting point is 01:59:48 Judas Priest. It could be Lear and it could be Black Sabbath. Oh my God. What's that? Quiet Riot? Maybe. Anvil? Yeah, for sure. Actually, Lips, the singer for Anvil lives in my neighborhood. It's Midtown. Get him on Toronto Mike. He could be Midtown Lips. Tell Lips to come on Toronto Mike. I hardly ever see him, but he's always
Starting point is 02:00:04 there. You're recording an album right now. Okay, well we're going to get... But he lives in my neighborhood. He could be Midtown Lips. Tell Lips to come on Toronto Mike. I hardly ever see him, but he's always up. They're in Europe recording an album right now. Okay, well, we're going to get to that. But he lives in my neighborhood. He could be Midtown Lips. James, you're next. Midtown Gord, thanks, buddy, for being here. Love this. Love seeing all these great people.
Starting point is 02:00:16 James Edgar is an almost 100%er here. Oh, Kim. He missed TMLX7 and broke his Ironman streak. It wasn't my fault. I swear to God. I would have been there. You were one of four, and then now we're down to three, although all three are here today.
Starting point is 02:00:31 It's still three, but James, you're not batting 1,000 anymore. I've got to say, what kept you away from TMLX7? I was about two and a half hours away. That's not a good excuse. What's two and a half hours? It was raining, and the only way to get there was my motorcycle, and I decided it wasn't safe. Well, that's smart.
Starting point is 02:00:49 It's too bad. I don't know. I also had the same thing with my motorcycle. I suck. Besides that, when it comes to the dog, everybody in my family's legs are broken. Oh, how's the dog doing? It's great, but all my family's legs are broken when it comes to the dog, so only I can walk it.
Starting point is 02:01:03 So, anyway. I love your shirt. You have a Toronto Mike shirt? Before I go any farther, farther. Yeah. Michael Lang sort of almost stole my thunder, but I wanted to say that we have FOTMs, we have FOSSs, and I'm one of both, but we also should be having FOCGs
Starting point is 02:01:22 because this guy rocks, man. Cam Gordon, everybody. And I got to tell you what, even though you blocked me. I swear to God, I don't know what happened. But I did. It was a Twitter interface thing.
Starting point is 02:01:37 Was it an accidental block? It was absolutely accidental. I do not know what happened. Are you leaving? Honestly, Twitter's a little wonky. Canada, are you leaving? Okay. Sorry. Honestly, Twitter's a little wonky. It was me, my phone, my awkward thoughts. It's unstable, right? I'm sorry.
Starting point is 02:01:50 I'm truly sorry about that. I'm kidding. I'm kidding. You keep getting credit for winning? Yes. No one with any credence gives him credit for winning anything. That's not true. You won most of those things.
Starting point is 02:02:02 You play the best fucking music. Thank you. Mike, you play the best fucking music. Thank you. Mike, you play the second best music. I'm sorry. The whole yacht ride thing, for God's sakes. I'm absolutely with you. Fuck Michael McDonald, right? Lutiker.
Starting point is 02:02:15 I might be listening to some Black Sabbath later tonight. Perfect. If I hear Christopher Cross one more time, apologies to Stephanie Wilkinson, who should get on here next. If I hear Christopher Cross again, right? Distant third. Listen, when we go get on here next. If I hear Christopher Cross again, right? Just in third. Listen, when we go on the yacht together, the three of us, you'll be...
Starting point is 02:02:29 Before I get kicked off, I want to quickly say that the end of this is very disappointing for me. Yes. As much as I love all of the, especially the Kick Out the Jam, Toronto Mike ones, I have really, really loved PF.
Starting point is 02:02:45 Like some other people, I haven't listened to every single one because of whatever. I actually haven't listened to anything for a couple of weeks because I just haven't had time. But yeah, I'm going to miss this. I'm going to go back and catch up
Starting point is 02:02:57 on anything I missed. This has been the best. It's really great. Thank you, man. It's going to be sad. The interplay between the three of you is, even when you guys play shit music,
Starting point is 02:03:07 it is so much fun to listen to. That's the new metal episode. I've heard some stuff that I would have said, well, that's shit. I was listening to my playlist on Spotify
Starting point is 02:03:20 on Wednesday when I was writing and up come some doobies. Yeah, there you go. And it's on there because you reminded me that they had some great tunes. Yes. And, yeah.
Starting point is 02:03:29 That bounce. That bounce. Yeah. Before the bounce. He liked it when there was Southern Rockers. I like that. Blackwater. I was listening to Blackwater, yeah.
Starting point is 02:03:37 I love Blackwater. But it was such a great song. But there's some other ones, too. China Grove. China Grove is a great song. James Edgar is a great FOTM, everybody. Thank you so much, James. James, you're the man.
Starting point is 02:03:48 Rob, you want to come on and say hi? A teaser because this gentleman is actually going to come into my backyard soon to have his own episode. We ordered Halloween sweets. Oh, you did too? Did David Kines hear that? Another Halloween sweets subscription. Do you need some papers?
Starting point is 02:04:01 Oh, yeah. Yeah, I can give it to my 16-year-old daughter. Okay, so 16-year-old daughter is getting papers. It's all legal. Thanks, yeah. Yeah, I can give it to my 16-year-old daughter. Okay, so you paint 16-year-old daughters getting papers. It's all legal. Thanks, man. Okay. Introduce yourself, Mr. Rob. Hi.
Starting point is 02:04:15 Hi, I'm a big fan of the podcast. Can you all hear me, by the way? Yes. Yeah, you sound great. It's up to you. You want to pick the headphones on real quick, and then you'll know you're being heard. Oh, yeah. Thanks for having me, Mike. I look forward. My name is Rob. It's up to you. Do you want to pick the headphones on real quick? And then you'll know you're being heard. Thanks for having me, Mike.
Starting point is 02:04:27 I look forward. My name is Rob. I'm a Toronto sports writer. I saw Kevin McGran here earlier from the start. Did he leave? You know what? He left. Oh, I feel like rotten when people leave. I see familiar faces here.
Starting point is 02:04:37 But no, I'm a freelance Toronto sports writer. Unfortunately, because a lot of the stuff that i write isn't um is subscriber based only my boss is stan fishler a new york city based writer so the official report is subscription only so that's why a lot of people might not know who i am but you're gonna be on toronto mike soon what day is it that's actually that's a tuesday september 7th the day after labor day yeah as i saw in a movie once you guys writing writing this down? I'll make you famous. Fantastic. And I met you at Hebsey's book. Yeah, I was hoping
Starting point is 02:05:09 to say hi to Hebsey. I think he left. No, he disappeared. And we're on rapid fire mode. He stayed five minutes. But dude, thanks for being here. I missed you
Starting point is 02:05:17 last time you were on. Larry Fedorek is calling me. He's like, where is this party here? Big time us. I'm out of time. I'm going to get to a whole bunch of people. But, dude, I can't wait to have you on Toronto Mike for a full episode.
Starting point is 02:05:30 We're going to have a deep dive. What do you got there? So, like I said, I'm a freelance sports writer. I got a couple books for you, Mike, if you want to go through it. So that's my Hockey's Enforcers book. Hockey's Enforcers, a dying breed. Okay, for sure. Rob Del Mundo.
Starting point is 02:05:48 Everybody, if you're looking for these books, it's Rob Del Mundo. Yeah, look for me up on Facebook or Twitter. My DMs are open, and that's the Hockey Addicts Guide to Toronto. Okay, nice. So, Mike, just have a read-through, and I'll just give you a shot back later. Thanks for the gifts. Where are the other gifts? The other FOTM came empty-handed. You got me back with the two beers, or one beer with the Mike guy.
Starting point is 02:06:05 Mike Majeski. Thanks, Mike Majeski, for that second beer. He's ripping it up. He's ripping up the Mimico. Thank you so much. I'm on rapid-fire mode here. So thank you so much. Can Stephanie Wilkinson come to the mic?
Starting point is 02:06:17 Rapid-fire mode. Rapid-fire mode. I apologize. Mainstay here. There she is. This is a tough episode to do with this time constraints. We had jams and everything. There's too many. Stephanie Wilkinson, it's up to episode to do with this time constraints. We had jams and everything. There's too many.
Starting point is 02:06:26 Stephanie Wilkinson, it's up to you if you put on the headphones. It's no pressure, but it will help you. Don't be bashful. Christopher Cross' Sailing. Is that your favorite song of all time? Well, I mean, at one point I enjoyed listening to it. Yes or no?
Starting point is 02:06:41 I like it. I like it. My favorite Pandemic Friday was Yacht Rock. Should we have had a sequel? Yes, we should have. Should me and Bob have a sequel? Yes. Will you be listening to
Starting point is 02:06:55 post-pandemic Fridays in Bob's basement? Maybe. Oh, it's okay. I'll take it. Steffi, much like Liz Brio came on and then I saw Rick C. Did Rick C leave? Rick Cameron? I wanted to get him on the mic.
Starting point is 02:07:10 But there are some OGs. I call them OGs because they were there long before I had a podcast. But talk about her. She's here. Yeah, this is my next sentence. Okay, Jesus, man. So my next sentence. Stephanie Wilkinson has been there since the very early days, has been so supportive.
Starting point is 02:07:23 Fantastic. The Blue Jay CDs. What is the very early days, has been so supportive, sent me the Blue Jay CDs. What is the very early, like what year? 2006. Way back. Yeah, 2006, okay? Take that. There's barely any, there wasn't Twitter.
Starting point is 02:07:37 It was blogs. No, like seriously. And your support means the world to me, and I love knowing you're out there supporting the cause. And so funny in the chat rooms and everything. Always extra entertaining. And I love knowing you're out there supporting the cause. And so funny in the chat rooms and everything. Always extra entertaining. And she loves her Yacht Rock. Yeah, she's great.
Starting point is 02:07:50 I love you. New Kids on the Block you like also? Not really. No, she likes Christopher Cross. Christopher Cross, good. What's the cross song of Michael McDonald doing the backups? Ride Like the Wind. Yes.
Starting point is 02:08:02 Isn't that a great jam, Ride Like the Wind? See, she loves that song. Every time I hear that song, I think of Stu Stone. If you got into my car right now and put on Sirius, it's on Yacht Rock. See, she knows. Is Hall & Oates Yacht Rock? It can be. Sure. It can be. Oh, there he is. You're up next.
Starting point is 02:08:20 Yeah. Get Rick here. The definition of Yacht Rock does kind of end around 1984, and that's when Hall & Oates were really coming into their one-hit wonder. Yeah. I think that they're great, so they qualify to me. But what I was just saying to the ladies about, you know. The FOTM broad squad.
Starting point is 02:08:44 The broad squad. YesOTM broad squad. The broad squad. Yes, the broad squad. What we were talking about, the 76, 75 pandemic Fridays, you know, was there one, but there's no music. That's true. We are going to close with a song, though. We're going to have a closing song for everybody. But the, you know, what did you, which song was the best?
Starting point is 02:09:04 What did you learn the most? Oh, wow. What did you learn the most? Oh, wow. What did you learn the most about in this? I can go first if you want. Well, no. Let her talk. Mine's the same as yours. Definitely American Hardcore.
Starting point is 02:09:14 American Hardcore was very... Where's Brother Bill? It's Rosanna. Yeah, that's the best song. Oh, come on. That is the best? That's the best song. It arcs over everything.
Starting point is 02:09:24 It was the jerks. But I will say that the song, the thing that I learned the most about, aside from Rosanna, which is the best, I learned that Pizza Hut had a Ninja Turtles album. Yeah. Out of Our Shelves? I didn't know that.
Starting point is 02:09:40 We're out of our shelves. It's not a bad song I think I still like it I still like that song Out of our shells Steph Thank you so much
Starting point is 02:09:51 For the support It's been a lot of fun Stephanie Wilkinson We'll miss you Ontario Blue Jays Very own Oh there's a secret Being exchanged here
Starting point is 02:10:01 What's going Whoa What's happening here Rick Rick do you have a moment to jump on? We're going rapid fire here before they call the cops on me. There you go. Rick C. in Oakville was a commenter on the Toronto Mike blog.
Starting point is 02:10:15 Bob's out of here. Back in like 2005. Who's out of here? Bob. Bob Lillette. What a great guy. Thank you, Bob. All right.
Starting point is 02:10:22 Rick, can you get closer to that mic? Yes. What a great guy. Thank you, Bob. All right. Rick, can you get closer to that mic? Yes, and I guess, like Humble and Fred, I'm probably one of your oldest fans, having connected with you through a search looking for whatever happened to Humble and Fred. And ever since then, I've enjoyed all the content that you've put out, and I'll have to give some love to Stu.
Starting point is 02:10:46 He's an acquired taste. Yes. You know, I mean, the first couple of pandemic Fridays, I was ready just not to upload them into my iPod. But over time, you know, I love his confidence. He won you over. Pardon? He won you over. Oh, he won me over.
Starting point is 02:10:59 Yeah, I mean, his confidence and all that, the stuff that I don't. No shortage of confidence. No shortage of confidence and comedic value too, you know. Oh, he's good. I know he rips on Cam all the time. He's so shy though. Yeah, I know. And Rick, they compliment each other well, right?
Starting point is 02:11:14 Because there's like a straight man. Yep. And then there's this comic relief. Okay, I'm all Laurel and Hardy. No, I mean that. We'll take it. That's what we were going for. Wayne and Schuster.
Starting point is 02:11:23 Kind of a Borscht belt. Rick, what do you think of the fact that you discovered Toronto Mike's Universe because you were looking for what happened to Humble and Fred? And today I produced that show. Is that mind blowing? Yes. Yes, it is. What do you do for a living when you're not listening to Pandemic Fridays? I service medical instrumentation.
Starting point is 02:11:38 I had a feeling you were in the medical industry. Mike knows I travel right across Canada, so I'm all over the world. And he can rarely attend a TMLX the last one was when Hebsey was selling his book El Greco and I were commenting about that that was the last time we were here that was when Ron Hawkins played
Starting point is 02:11:54 oh is that Lois and Lo played that night? yes they did Rick C and Oakville again a good rapid fire but thank you so much for being here buddy if you do post pandemic, I will download it. You know, Bob's Basement is about to spike in Apple's podcast charts. Thank you very much.
Starting point is 02:12:13 Zinger, can you come over here, buddy? I like him. Zinger, rapid fire here. Zinger. Oh, yeah, Rick C. and Oakville is a gem. Rick's a legend. Should introduce him to my mom. Should I have taken the call from Larry Fedorek?
Starting point is 02:12:23 Like, maybe that was important. I know, I didn't take it because I'm recording something. So we had a gentleman named Mike Ettinger. We literally had this guy on the mic. And you're like the same with a Z in there. It's crazy. Try to get closer to that mic.
Starting point is 02:12:40 That's right. Even though I have a Z in my name, it's definitely YYZ. It's not YYZ though. Why? In this country it's right. I got to say, even though I have a Z in my name, it's definitely YYZ, right? Yeah, it's not YYZ, though. Why? Why? In this country, it's Z. We don't say Z. I know, I know.
Starting point is 02:12:49 But I think I grew up with that. And I think I grew up with it being YYZ. It is totally anti-Canadian. I totally understand. It's a total, yeah, it's ironic. Blame Geddy Lee. I was thinking, are you the person who traveled the least distance to be here? I think I did mike you know i
Starting point is 02:13:05 heard people from quebec you know from houston i'm like 10 minutes down the road you're a mimico guy yeah i'm a mimico guy i'm i'm not born and bred i'm from north of barry but uh but i live in yeah there's north of barry there is north of barry with the top let me tell you you start talking to toronto people it's like well you're i'm from the north you mean like north north of Steeles? I'm like, no, no, no, north of Barrie. You know what happens to me now? When someone says you're from the north, you know what I think now? St. Clair. Yeah, and that's the issue.
Starting point is 02:13:34 Zinger, I don't know. Zinger, I can call you Zinger, right? I'm so happy you're here. Like, I haven't seen you in forever. I saw you in the corner of my eye, and I'm like, Zinger's here. Nice to see you, buddy. Nice to see you, and it's been a while and probably nobody knows, but you and I
Starting point is 02:13:47 actually know each other through Monica because up until like a week ago, we worked together. Wait, Monica doesn't work there anymore? Doesn't work there anymore. Did you guys fire her? No, she left. Better, you know, greener pastures. Huh? Why are you wearing a mask?
Starting point is 02:14:04 You don't trust Zinger. He's an anti-vaxxer. 100%. No, no, definitely not. Definitely not. Yeah, Monica was very happy there, and she went on to do something else. But I love what you guys are doing. Let me know when you're ready for the podcast.
Starting point is 02:14:19 100%. 100%. I love this. This is amazing. Let's do it, man. Mike, you're doing an amazing job with this. This guy knows his shit. Zinger! Yeah, I listen to your This is amazing. Let's do it, man. Mike, you're doing an amazing job with this. This guy knows his shit. Zinger!
Starting point is 02:14:26 Yeah, I listen to your podcast in Italy. I just want you to know, if you see that one metric from someone listening in Italy. I saw dozens of Italians. They love it. Gino Vanelli was on. Nice. Awesome. It's all the Palma Pasta.
Starting point is 02:14:38 That's it. Zinger, I talked to you all night, but Andy's going on this mic now, and we're in rapid-fire mode. This is rapid-fire mode. Anyone who wants on is getting on. I don't care if they call the cops. Adam sends us down the street, okay? The cops are busy down there. Indoor dining.
Starting point is 02:14:53 Karen and Kev, you're coming up too. Andy Pandy. That's Andy Pandy. Wow. Huge. You've never met, right? No. Nice to find you.
Starting point is 02:15:01 Because you never come to TMLX's. This is great. I have been to one, but fuck off. It's nice to finally meet you. Because you never came to TMLX's. This is great. I have been to one, but fuck off. It's nice to finally meet you. Same to you. And you too, Cam. Cam and I did the schools out. How long was that one?
Starting point is 02:15:13 That was a big one. Was that a long one? Oh, like three hours. It was not long enough. Not long enough. It's the only episode my sister ever listened to. Okay. Like she was pretty into it.
Starting point is 02:15:21 We've decided the next time we do a Degrassi-themed anything, you are a part of that episode. And Mike Grogatsky. And Mike Grogatsky, but especially you. You've got to consider that as a big thing, because I've never been invited to anything like that. A huge honor. We try to. You've only been invited to 76 episodes in a row.
Starting point is 02:15:38 We never dove deep. There were some three-hour nuggets in there as well. Andy, do you enjoy the Pandemic Friday episodes? I love Pandemic Friday. Favorite episode was probably the boy band episode. I'm sure James Edgar agrees with me. I know that was his favorite one. He loves Backstreet Boys.
Starting point is 02:15:54 Three New Kids on the Block songs played that episode. Pretty epic. Oh, he liked it. Wow. He did like that episode. Okay. Hanson. Oh, he liked it. Wow. I didn't like the music that much, but I did like the episode. He did like that episode. Oh, how nice. Okay.
Starting point is 02:16:08 Hanson. Did not get Hanson on that episode. Andy, to embarrass you very quickly, the very first TMLX was on the patio of Great Lakes Beer. Thank you for hosting Great Lakes. And that was the episode you were too shy to say hello. True. I can say that, right? Yes, you can. So you were there.
Starting point is 02:16:23 You didn't want to say hi to me because I'm so intimidating and scary. So intimidating and scary. But were my little ones there? I'm trying to remember this. They were there for one of them. I'm getting confused. This is my seventh. Okay, so you're seven out of eight.
Starting point is 02:16:36 I'm seven out of eight. The only one I didn't go to was the one at Palma Pasta. Oh, wow. And I finally got to try the famous lasagna today. Oh, how was lasagna? It was amazing. Okay, wow. Very tasty.
Starting point is 02:16:45 It was so good. And remember, there's like 40, although I think it might be done now, actually, but the 40 beers were purchased by Majeski. I'm sure they were taken. Last call has come and gone. I got my six pack of the Great Lakes ready to take home. Okay, everybody, that's key.
Starting point is 02:16:59 We need to support Great Lakes Beer. This is a family run into fiercely independent brewery. We really do need to support them. So yes, they opened up, they gave you a free beer and they opened up the patio. I got a few. Got a few road beers. But thank you, Andy Panty, for everything. Thank you guys for everything.
Starting point is 02:17:16 Again, we're cooking up gas. 76 episodes, all awesome. Marc Gasore. Oh, he's taking a pass. That's okay. Marc Carey, come on. And then Canada Kev. Canada Ke That's okay. Mark Carey, come on. And then Canada Kev. Canada Kev is here. Mark Carey, who just did something I think is kind of remarkable.
Starting point is 02:17:33 Do you want to put the headphones on? Stick on those headphones. So does everybody... Oh, you want to say something off the top? Okay. After 76 weeks, thanks for ending the pandemic. Somebody had to end it. Delta's over.
Starting point is 02:17:48 Might as well be you. It's over. Delta's over, man. Delta's done, buddy. Thanks. We are in your debt. Okay, so I've known you a long time, but you were a guest on Toronto, Mike, because you ran around the city of Toronto.
Starting point is 02:18:00 Remind us how many kilometers that was and get really close to that, Mike. That was about 135 Maybe a little bit more So you didn't rollerblade like Peter Gross You didn't bike like I would do You ran this A little bit of walking But three of us covered the whole distance
Starting point is 02:18:17 By foot And you just did like a 100 mile run In the last week? On Saturday and Sunday That's the last week i came dead last okay but how many people in my race nine people finished it okay i was nine top ten wow that's great man i wouldn't be able to walk like 10 feet i think i put on facebook like something like uh i can't like i can't trash you for finishing last because i could never ever
Starting point is 02:18:43 complete that race ever i could not run 100 miles. Can I ask a real question? What is your motivation with this? Is this just like... It's to see what's possible. To sort of find your limit and then go through it. And then just love it.
Starting point is 02:19:00 He's a madman. And that's something that Mike should have taken that advice because here he is giving up on pandemic instead of pushing through he's exhausted he could push through right
Starting point is 02:19:09 that's true yeah okay so for the record I do feel almost like hearing these people talk about how much they love this show I'm like
Starting point is 02:19:16 why did I kill this again like I do feel because you're exhausted I feel a tinge of like I'm so tired was this too early to kill it I'm going camping achy 76 tinge of like... I'm so tired. Was this too early to kill it? I'm going camping.
Starting point is 02:19:26 Achy. 76 weeks in a row. It's a lot. And I'm sorry. I'm sorry. But Mark Carey ran 100 miles. You're getting old. Great.
Starting point is 02:19:35 I'm your age. That's how old I am. You're a month older. Creaky old guy. I am a month older. This gentleman ran around the city for a good cause and is a great FOTM. And he was an FOTM before they were called FOTMs.
Starting point is 02:19:48 I'm glad you're here, buddy. Did you get some pasta? A few months later, Mike and I rode around Toronto for the ride around Toronto. We did ride our bikes. And Mike, after the race, Mike introduced me to Hayes Mama by Great Lakes Brewery.
Starting point is 02:19:59 And it's a great brew. And after you guys rode around, Mike was exhausted. Yeah, yeah. He had to go camping. He's so tired. That was 135 kilometers. He was a sleeping bag.
Starting point is 02:20:11 So Canada Cab, you're next. Monica's used to hearing him say, I'm exhausted. Right? Does he say that to you? Yeah. Cheers. I figured. Cheers, man.
Starting point is 02:20:21 Pleasure. Hey, now. Thanks so much, Mark. Mark was a friend before I had a podcast. That's how way back he goes. Hey, how are you? Canada Kev, get right on that mic because you've never met. So I met you for the first time at TMLX7 in Marie Curtis Park.
Starting point is 02:20:37 This guy's like one of the legit fact checkers in the FOT. He's had to fact check these guys more than me, right? He's the one who as I said at TMLX7 he babysat Dave Steeb. But that's all through one degree of separation. It's all through my sister.
Starting point is 02:20:54 Who lives in your postal code. He babysat Dave Steeb's kids just for the record. You need to have my sister on the show. Is your sister here? No. Get out of here. It's Dave Steeb. Is your sister here? No. Get out of here. It's Dave Steve. But she also knows Rod Black. Oh, you know what? Good buddies.
Starting point is 02:21:08 I might have fucked up here. Good buddies with Elvis Stoico if you want Elvis and Rod Black. You know what? Did I screw up? Hold on. I'm getting this call from an unknown number
Starting point is 02:21:17 and I think I screwed up here. Let me just try something here. Is this the CRA? It's like we're not. You guys keep talking. Oh, is Johnny O here, by the way? Did Johnny O ever come? I had a connection. It was hilarious. One this the CRA? It's like we're not. You guys keep talking. Oh, is Johnny O here, by the way? Did Johnny O ever come? I had a connection.
Starting point is 02:21:27 It was hilarious. One of the things with this show was I jumped in way late in the game and I was told through a good friend of mine who's not here,
Starting point is 02:21:34 Andrew Ward, who got a mistake when I finally jumped on a Zoom call and there was a mistake in identity with Andy Pandy, which obviously wasn't me, but I'm good friends
Starting point is 02:21:41 with Andy Pandy now having a great conversation with her because I came out to TMLX7 and I just love how they showed it it's really cool because everything brings people together and there's always a connection or something like that I feel like you're a good connection
Starting point is 02:21:53 into like the 21st century and the music of the 20s because I've seen you like fat crack stuff from the last 20 years which I've always appreciated it's funny I feel like I know so many of the places you guys obviously talk about and grew up I was a Toronto guy all my life
Starting point is 02:22:08 maybe five years later you guys are during the 90s I missed out on a lot of the stuff because I was time work back I went there as a child once it was scary that place was twisted
Starting point is 02:22:23 but I was at the C&E in 89. Oh, yeah. Mike was there. The connection there, which was bizarre. I had this memory that was working at the arrows, you know, the horse races? Yeah. Sure, sure. You used to win a lot of money on that game.
Starting point is 02:22:36 Exactly. You could totally fix it. It was easy. It was right across from the bingo hall. Right, sure. And in the bingo hall, they also had a game on the side that was the birthday game, not with the ball or the spinner thing, but it was a car. They would zip back and forth. And it would land
Starting point is 02:22:50 on a month. And I want one of those freaking monsters. Your pet monster. And I believe it is in my wife's kindergarten right now. That's so great. Once my school opens, we'll get it back. You gotta get that back. They may need somebody to come into the kindergarten.
Starting point is 02:23:05 Right. Come get my monster back. Basically an NFT. Did you ever give Joey Jeremiah free plays? I did. I did shoot some pool with Joey Jeremiah at the at the Mo once. Oh, there you go. Back in the day.
Starting point is 02:23:21 Shout out to Canada Kev. Love your contributions to Pandemic Friday. What a great FOT. I'm so glad I got to meet you and thanks so much for listening and for being a part of this. I loved it.
Starting point is 02:23:31 I can't pick up a best episode because some of the weirdest topics might have been the most entertaining without knowing it. But it was a good time. I jumped in
Starting point is 02:23:40 during vasectomies and that's when I found out we had the same doctor, buddy. He still has the patch on. It's a small world. There's only very few credible ball doctors. Breaking news. I think this is kind of cool because it's a first for TMDS, but Larry Fedorek's
Starting point is 02:23:54 podcast, I Was Eight, just won Best Personal Series at the Canadian Podcast Awards. That's why Larry's not here. That's why he was phoning me. So congratulations. This is a real prestigious award.
Starting point is 02:24:09 Who did it be? Hey, Mike. Did you want to come on here and say hi? There's so many Mikes here. You can't just be Mike. I don't know if he's going by that. I don't know if he's going by that name. Did you want to come on?
Starting point is 02:24:26 Like nobody knows him. He's not reacting. I'm looking him in the eyes and I'm saying, do you want to come on? Does anybody here need to jump on before we play the final song? If anybody here wants to come on, this is the now or never time. Ian Service is going for a second round. Anybody? Last call to come on.
Starting point is 02:24:44 So, Mike, did you want to come on? Did you want to come on so Mike did you want to come on I want to play a couple songs too because I got the boys from Montreal from Quebec I should say they want to hear me kick out some jams right they made the drive yeah okay okay yes we didn't do a lot of jams

Starting point is 02:25:36 I want you to really pay attention to this one. This goes out to Cam. Oh. Cambrio. Cambrio. Oh, thank you. Cambrio. This is like after we leave the show. How have you been, pal?
Starting point is 02:26:01 differently Don't seem the same Since you've lost your feel for me Seems like you've lost your feel for me, Cam. So let's leave it alone Cause we can't see eye to eye There ain't no good guys
Starting point is 02:26:24 There ain't no bad guys There ain't no bad guys There's only you and me And we just disagree I love you, Cam. And this has been such a great experience to spend 76 weeks kicking out jams with you, man. Love it. And this one is for 1236, for Liz.
Starting point is 02:26:44 It's 1236 here. For all the people that hate liz it's 12 36 for all the people that hate listen to the show for all the people that can't this is for you baby i want you to listen to this one okay i want you to know this is a big one the boys from que, they know this one. Starting point is 02:27:16 Turn down the bed. Well, wait till it gets to the chorus. Turn down these voices inside my head. Way to look at the chorus. It's kind of for you too, Mike, for ending this show. Don't patronize, Mike. Don't patronize. Here we go. This is for 1236. I know he's listening.
Starting point is 02:27:52 Because I can't make you love me if you don't. I can't make you love me if you don't. You can't make your heart feel Something it won't Here in the dark Ladies and gentlemen, a very special guest is going to Is he going to kick out Disco Tech? Say farewell.
Starting point is 02:28:18 Who is this on the Zoom right now? Hello, my boys. Who the heck? Wow. Is the Olympics over? Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Rod Black. Yes. Wow.
Starting point is 02:28:41 Rod, baby, how are you? Bell Media's own. You guys, are you guys paled or what? We're still here, man. A few beers. You gotta give us at least one impression before this ship sinks. Oh, gosh. My impression of being in a bubble is not that you don't want to live in a bubble.
Starting point is 02:29:03 I've been in a bubble for the last ten days. good what are you guys doing look at you we're getting shit-faced over here man with all of our best friends you guys are sailing off to the sunset yeah rod this is it 76 weeks of pandemic friday you were one of the great uh secret zoomers uh you stayed for the whole show and it was just fucking awesome. And I'm so honored that you're here to say goodbye to us as we conclude. We're literally about to play the last song. This is our finale, man. Hey guys, the pandemic
Starting point is 02:29:34 isn't over. Just want to let you know that. Yeah, we know. Spoiler alert. The pandemic's moving to Bob's basement. We ran out of songs. You played every song that's ever been recorded by any band, any musician. Yes. It's that long.
Starting point is 02:29:49 Everything. Rod, where are you right now? You're covering the Women's World Championship. World Hockey Championship in Calgary. And we kicked some American ass last night. We kicked some, yes. Yeah, Canada won. Yeah, there you go.
Starting point is 02:30:05 There is another game tomorrow, and then they've got to get to the final on Tuesday. It will be Canada-United States. Watch. Tune in. Oh, man, I think you're going to get big numbers today. I'll give a Toronto Mike reference. I'll give a Toronto Mike reference. Perfect. Do it.
Starting point is 02:30:20 Oh, you better do it, because there will be millions of people tuning in. Like if someone scores, you can just be like, and that is a goal. So, Rod, I'm literally about to play the final song here. Shouldn't we say some final words? Doesn't Cam want to say something? What's that Rod block?
Starting point is 02:30:36 Okay. Rod, Cam Gordon apparently is going to say some final words. I think we all should have some final words. Sure. I want to hear from Rod. Can I get a final word? Yes. Rod, your final words. I think we all should have some final words. I want to hear from Rod. Can I get a final word? Yes. Rod, your final words, please. My final words is
Starting point is 02:30:50 man, this is probably a very emotional time for all of you guys. I mean, I'm sure that you're probably going to have to start up another podcast or do something. I don't know what you're going to do. I mean, I'm not sure how many viewers or listeners or followers or whatever you call them, potters you have. But I'm sure they have increased tonight and then they were going to
Starting point is 02:31:09 decrease i would suggest that for the next few weeks um you try to separate you guys are just too close you're too tight i'm sure you know find your way to an lcbo somewhere get some free beer i'm still waiting for my beer by the way way, for you. Hey, anytime, buddy. But I'm happy. You know what? I'm excited that you guys are going to get away from each other. You're too close. I'm exhausted.
Starting point is 02:31:34 And the reason the pandemic is still on is because idiots like you that stay too close. You're not even vaccinated. You're not social distanced. You're not even wearing masks. Rod, if you didn't have to go cover this prestigious event, where is it? Calgary? Where are you?
Starting point is 02:31:49 Calgary. I'm in Calgary. Okay. Would you be at this event live at Great Lakes Brewery? Oh, are you kidding? I'd be there in a second. I'd be there right there. Love it.
Starting point is 02:31:58 All right. Stu, do you want to say any final words? No, no. Cam is first. Okay, Cam. I'm going to say a few sincere words. I'll keep this brief, but just to echo the sentiments of a lot of people,
Starting point is 02:32:10 when I look back at the early episodes and I'm literally sitting on a bed with a toque and we're recording this and I'm like, what the fuck's happening? And I sort of listening to some of those clips, it sort of reflects that and I do genuinely say what sort of a stabilizer having to be able to do this with two of my best pals
Starting point is 02:32:30 and all the listeners, too, has been awesome, too. And a nice antidote to everyone on Twitter who's talking about the pandemic, too. I do appreciate it. It's great to see everyone, and we'll see where this goes from here. But I'm glad we could do this tonight, for sure. What the hell are you guys going to do with each other? Yeah, we're not. Mike, you want to?
Starting point is 02:32:53 Dude, you want to go first? Sure. I'll go, and then I'll hit this. All right. Well, I just want to thank everybody for being here tonight. You guys give yourselves a round of applause. The only reason why I really came was to see you guys because how could I let Mike
Starting point is 02:33:07 just take you guys away from me like this? But don't worry. Once you're FOSS, you're FOSS for life. And you can follow my exploits as I go to Kingston and Bob's Basement or wherever we end up. We'll do it together. And I did love doing this, genuinely.
Starting point is 02:33:24 It was so much fun getting to be with Cam. And before we sing, Mike, when Cam and I were on your show the very first time, you posed for a photograph that actually is your profile photo. And I thought, since that was the first time Cam and I were on the show, I would give you the George the Animal Steel figure. Oh, my God! So that you could be reunited with a friend that you met the first day. And this is the song I wanted to play for everybody because we're all friends in the end.
Starting point is 02:33:53 Even if you hate me, you still love me. And we all love Cam. And we all love Mike. And the pandemic is officially over. Over. George the Animal Steel. Rob Black's going to sing this part. Come on, sing it, Rob. That's what George Steeleele is for.
Starting point is 02:34:27 I know I got to shut this down. I will be brief. I know I promised Great Lakes we'd be out of here by 9 o'clock, so let's try to... This is happening, guys. It's happening. The cops are nearby. They're at Adamson's Barbecue right now, which is just down the street. It's been there for seven months.
Starting point is 02:34:44 All I can say is I think I killed Pandemic Friday because I loved Pandemic Friday. Like, it was every week. It was 76 weeks in a row. And I felt it needed to end. And I figure if we're going to have to end this at some point, let's give it a big
Starting point is 02:34:59 public, like, let's give it a farewell like this. Like a good, solid funeral. Shout out to ridley funeral home and i mean look at all these people who stuck around for three freaking hours like i know the pasta was good and the beer was good but this is a friday night and everybody's still here and i do admit there's a tinge of like why would would you kill this beautiful thing? And then I think, well, everything ends. Like at least I can control it.
Starting point is 02:35:29 Do you guys think that maybe you started the pandemic? Black is still here. I love that Ron Black's still here. I think it's about time. Maybe if you end this show, perhaps it will just, as Donald Trump said, it will burn out.
Starting point is 02:35:44 It will burn out. It will burn out. It's going to shed. It's wonderful. It's going to shed. Melania told me that. Mike's crying right now. This guy's doing Trump. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 02:35:54 That was shitting. Shitting. Shitting. Okay. I'm slapping a label on that. If Charles Barkley were here saying farewell to the pandemic Fridays, what would Charles Barkley say? Come on, man.
Starting point is 02:36:05 Man, I'm telling you, get the hell out of here, guys. You guys have been boring me for the last 76 Fridays. I'm telling you right now. Enough's enough. It's enough. It's terrible. It's terrible. I need a cheeseburger, man.
Starting point is 02:36:20 Hey, Mike, are you done? It's pandemic Friday. Wait, wait, wait. Before you do that, wait, wait, wait. Wait a second. Another pandemic has started. Mike, are you done? Is Pandemic Friday over? Wait, wait, wait. Before you do that, wait, wait, wait. Wait a second. Another pandemic has started. There's literally four words that I need to say. Wait, wait, wait.
Starting point is 02:36:32 World star. World star. Four words. The first two are thank you. And the second, everybody can say them with me if they want. One, two, three. And that. For the final time. And that For the final time And that
Starting point is 02:36:48 Rod Black You're a great FOTM Thanks for doing this buddy You know what start another show Start another show I'll be on anytime I don't know man I think it's safe to say That we're toast right That's a good one I think we're fucking toast I just looked know, man. Starting point is 02:38:36 at Majeski Group Homes. For the very last time on Pandemic Friday, I say to you all, see you next week. Unless you're Stu and Cam, then you will not. Wow. Wow. There's a soccer ball on every day. But I wonder who.
