One, two, three, five!
Well, every time we turn the radio on, your records run, so what can you say to that? You know I need someone I think I'm gonna be sad
I think it's a day
John Lennon was brought to the emergency room
at the Roosevelt site, St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital, this evening
shortly before 11 p.m.
He was dead on arrival
Extensive resuscitative efforts were made but in spite of
Transfusions and many procedures he could not be resuscitated
He had multiple gunshot wounds in his chest in his left arm and in his back
There were seven wounds in his chest, in his left arm and in his back.
There were seven wounds in his body.
Life is very short and there's no time for fussing and fighting my friend.
I read the news today, oh boy. He and Yelko had apparently gotten out of their vehicle at the curb.
We're walking into the vestibule area, which is an outdoor kind of a mini courtyard before
you get into the main courtyard of the Dakota.
And they had gone through some gates.
And somehow this guy had gotten through the gates as Lenin was there.
There was some sort of altercation and shouting,
and he shot Lennon.
Imagine all the people
living life in peace.
You may say I'm a dreamer
but I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be your one
There will be a one
Starting over
Let's take a chance and fly away Somewhere
Everybody here is kind of like 15 and 16 and just about ready to explode
when all of a sudden the Beatles came along and said a lot of things that everybody wanted to say.
And all of a sudden we find out we've grown up.
We're really big people now and the people that we thought were great are dying.
It's not like Jimi Hendrix. It's not even like Elvis.
It's amazing. This is the end of an era. The Night is everybody.
Everybody.
The Night is everybody.
Everybody.
The Night is everybody.
