Starting point is 00:01:58 making her return to Toronto mic after 12 long years. It is indeed, Ramey, the Minx. Nice to see you again. Hello. Nice to see you as well. You got to stay right in front of that mic though. I know you're looking around. You're like, oh, things have changed.
Starting point is 00:02:19 I'm wondering you're just cameras on. Well, the camera's on you. Don't worry with the camera. It's a podcast experience. So we are recording the, we are capital. the recording of this episode on video, but this is not a television show. I will pop over to make sure it's on you,
Starting point is 00:02:35 and you look amazing. I'm looking at you on the camera. I'm going to watch it. So are my little Ramey's. Little Rameys. Okay, so much ground to cover, but do you have any memory of being here 12 years ago? I remember what I wore,
Starting point is 00:02:51 because I know the photo. Oh, yeah. And I was wearing like a white, like, it looked like a lamp shade with like those rain. but the bottom was tipped in hot pink and I remember you said to me something like I remember my reply was I'm so funny I think it's great that you're so concerned for me because I had like been laid off from my job then I had a lot of money in the bank I didn't need to do shit and so
Starting point is 00:03:17 I was just you know like you need to have like a mechanism to for the public eye what you are so like all that ramey the minx does is like show her life so it's like all right then I started working out like crazy, blah, bitty blah, and then I did naked news. So you were, I didn't even listen to that. I inspired naked news? Yeah, absolutely. You were so chiseled. I was like, I got to get that.
Starting point is 00:03:42 Listen, you had me at hello, Ramey. Okay, so, I mean, so much ground I want to cover. I don't believe there was a camera on you 12 years ago because I only introduced that because of a show I did with Hebsy. So there was no camera. And I don't think I had. I don't think I had any sponsors 12 years. I'm pretty sure that it was just like a labor of love.
Starting point is 00:04:03 I think you should pound one of those Great Lake brewery beers. Okay, so I asked you when you arrived if you wanted a Great Lakes beer and you said you're California sober. Yeah. What exactly does that mean? Today is day 314 since I've had a drop of alcohol. I was drinking a lot. I had acute pancreatitis. I couldn't stop the cycle.
Starting point is 00:04:27 and like watching myself actively in horrible addiction couldn't stop right your brain is just like you're physically mentally spiritually addicted to that stuff so thank god like it was horrible yeah alcohol yeah tons of vodka kept the lights on at smirnoff um and then like fucking shitty red wine from the gas station and i worked at the lcbo too which it's like a whole thing so i'm writing a book the book i don't have like the proper working title yet um and And it's, I'm so ADHD. Like, now, like, this is why I drink because I'm like racing thoughts all over the place, trying to quiet.
Starting point is 00:05:05 I also had like irrational thoughts, PTSD from 9-11 and just from being Ramey the Minks in general and just whatever. I have like general anxiety disorder and alcohol doesn't help that. It makes it a lot worse. How have you been diagnosed though? You mentioned ADHD. Yeah. So you, you. Bipolar depression, PTSD.
Starting point is 00:05:25 I've self-diagnosed in my. psychiatrist exists, agrees that I'm on the spectrum for sure. Like there are people in my family who have it. And like you just, I'm so on like like I'm catching fucking diagnosis left and right with a butterfly net. Like I, it's your superpower. You got alphabet soup going on here. If you know, oh, my, what?
Starting point is 00:05:45 Well, yeah, because ADHD. That is a list to a writer, word salad. I'll cut you. No, a lot of letters I'm saying. Yes, it is. A lot. So then there's odd HD. So there's ADHD and then there's like autism.
Starting point is 00:05:57 HD, which is like my life is hilarious and it's, I'm excited to every day I wake up because this is like my brain, my frontal lobe is regrowing from the alcohol like no more, you know, I talk like caveman. So yeah, I'm speeding thoughts and sometimes my mouth doesn't know how to, like I have to slow down. And I forget what I'm saying. Go ahead. You know. And like I can picture it where we're going, but like sometimes we won't get there because there's side quests in the. talks. Okay, so just let me chime in to say. We even know what the hell you asked. No, okay, well, congratulations on almost a year of
Starting point is 00:06:35 eliminating something from your life that was causing a negative effect in your life. Okay, so you're not drinking alcohol, but what does California sober mean? Like, you're smoking wheat. I can smell the cannabis. Shut out to Canada. My mom is not going to like that. Okay, well, she obviously is in your presence periodically and can smell it as well. No, she sees it, but actually it neutralizes me. I heard her say that a while ago, right? Because, like, moms don't like that shit, right? But you can see that it's medicine for the person.
Starting point is 00:07:04 You know, sometimes, like, it's getting out of hand. Like, I'm up to infuse stuff now and it's money. So I got to, like, dial it back. I was doing cartridges. And I was fully sober at first. And then, like, my BF, he was whatever. I saw him with a little fucking vape thing. I was like, I want that.
Starting point is 00:07:22 So I went and I started buying, like, the, why am I talking about this? Look, whatever. I started doing that. It's like a babe. And then I climbed up to weed and I was like, the first 20 minutes you get this adrenaline rush and like a bit of like fear. And it's great for writing. It's great for depression and boredom.
Starting point is 00:07:40 Like sometimes I try to do this mindfulness shit where I'm like, okay, am I sad? Is this sadness? Okay. Well, what am I? Am I sad because I'm not going to do anything? I'm bored. All right. I'll get weed.
Starting point is 00:07:50 You know, no. What am I running out of weed? Like I just like I came, went back to Burlington yesterday because there's no weed source in Oak Phil. And I ran, I didn't, you know, I was like, bye guys. So I'm obviously dependent on that. Like, there's always like replacements in life. Where do you live these days? I have a place in Burlington. I live with my dad and my roommate. I had lived there
Starting point is 00:08:13 off and on over, since I met that guy. We met at agency. I was a copywriting for Tim Hortons. Oh, I'd love to talk about that. You know, you can honestly, I'm going to tell you right now. And then I say my boyfriends in Aaron. Oh, fuck. don't say that. Can you blurp that out? No, but like that's a big place. Okay, whatever. I know. I try to like be vague about it. I try and like make the thing.
Starting point is 00:08:36 Well, you have to, I'm going to just warn you now. You need to self-censor. Like if there's things you don't want the world to here, you got to like not say those words. That was fuck up one. All right. Keep going. Asterisk. Okay. So I, you've dropped a lot of stuff I want to follow up. And then I say my mom's in Oakville.
Starting point is 00:08:53 So I'm always on like a little traveling journey. Okay. So there's like a. And I can take breaks from everyone and they can take breaks from me. Okay. There are a lot of cannabis shops within like a five minute walk. Yeah, so I stock up and then you have a lot, guess what happens? You know, like you go grocery shopping and then you eat all your favorite shit that first night.
Starting point is 00:09:11 Like in the 90s, that was the thing. We had like limited snacks. Okay, speaking of the 90s, okay. So when did you begin your online journey? 1999. 99. And then Y2K happened. And that literally like those are.
Starting point is 00:09:26 I was gone. So I had up to 2000, you know, I swear I'm not lying. Like this isn't like a Mandela effect thing of self or bragging that I blogged before the year 2000, but whatever. So the year 2000, we'll just say that. So this November, the 28th is actually my dad's birthday. I wrote my first blog post. Went to see a movie, took my niece. She was like three-ish, maybe two or three to see the Grinch who sold Christmas. Jim Carrie, so do the math like that. I remember that. Well, can I ask you, what were you blogging on?
Starting point is 00:10:02 Me? No, I know, but I meant technically. Like, what platform? Oh, blogger. Okay, so blogger.com existed in 1999? Yeah. So I was actually like pre-1999 working in a magazine, woman magazine in Cabbage Town for my, if you were looking at the word Toronto behind your head and getting lost.
Starting point is 00:10:23 You have to focus. Yeah, right. By the right place, because... A bunker? I don't have it as severe as you, but I do know what you mean about the multiple thoughts arriving very quickly in the synapsis theory. You mentioned superpower, and I completely 100% relate to you. You got to bring it back, yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:42 You do have it on a different level than I have it, where I am able to focus on this conversation, even though there's a million things going on around me. Thank God. Somebody's going to steer this ship here. Not me. But I want you to know, so you're in like a safe. space and you can go off. This is not the CBC.
Starting point is 00:10:59 You know that this is distracting that you're interjecting with this whole. Well, I'm just want to be sure. I appreciate it. Because even before, because we're going to go back. What I need to do though. Watching will, you know, see what it's like suffering. Like we're basically, we're going to spend the next hour or so in the mind of Ramey the Minks.
Starting point is 00:11:15 And I think that is exciting. But I want to tell people about the first visit just before we go back here. Okay. So it was August 2014. It was before I took a photo of every guest by Toronto. tree. We literally took that photo, I think, in my living room upstairs. We went outside as well. I had pictures on my blog, like, to and from the car. Okay, but there was no, like, tree picture. So today you'll be taking your first tree picture
Starting point is 00:11:40 because every guest since, I don't know, number 100 or something has taken a tree picture. Now, August 2014, that's a long time ago in the podcasting world. So you're like early to the blogging world. I was shortly thereafter, but not as early as you. Right in my coat, right? Pretty much. Whatever. You and Aaron Davis. okay let's go so august 2014 it was episode 88 i can't believe my god and it's like 9000 later it's 19704 that's my
Starting point is 00:12:06 birth year it's a very important number you got here 84 74 74 74 oh you're as well as it looks like 84 i wish you don't august it's because you're a man you guys don't age uh we like women i take a photo every day it's gonna hit you overnight though one day when you're old you look like an old bird which i'm looking forward to quite frankly i think i'm aging horribly do you even remember where at the I was talking about before all this. Like, are you going to be able to bring it back?
Starting point is 00:12:29 It's not as bad as me, apparently. It's episode 1974. I don't have any faith. I have a system, okay? Let me just finish this description. Oh, I'm fucked. August 2014, episode 88.
Starting point is 00:12:41 I'm going to just read what I wrote at the time. We talked for an hour, but again, there were no sponsor mentions or anything. So it's just one hour and five minutes of Ramey the Minks. 12 years ago, and I wrote at the time, Mike chats with Ramey the Minks about her long-time blog, quest for fame and how she deals with her haters.
Starting point is 00:13:00 I feel like I could just reuse. I'll just reuse this description for episode 1974. But we did your A to Z then, so we're not going to go so deep into it. But I think it's fascinating. We can do a retrospective, like, what is an update. How old were you in November 1999 when you wrote that first blog entry? 17. Okay, 17.
Starting point is 00:13:25 So you have been. on the internet with followers from the age of 17 to your current age of 43. Talk to them over, like every day, different people come up. It's awesome.
Starting point is 00:13:37 This one dude, he said, he's talking to me about shit. He remembers I wrote when I was in New York, 18, right? And like, he's like,
Starting point is 00:13:45 you had a boyfriend then, and I was like, well, I was out of boyfriend. Except for the one year when I didn't, I was dating a lot, date machine.
Starting point is 00:13:53 Those are not fun times. They're fun. But anyway, I digress. So yeah, that's one guy, like, it brings you back.
Starting point is 00:13:59 And I'm just like, a sponge. I'm like, tell me everything that you remember. And like another guy in my substack, he like had a sloppy night with me and a girlfriend. And like, she hooked up with him and shit.
Starting point is 00:14:10 And I'm like, why did you pick her? He's like, she seemed innocent, but she wasn't. I'm like, yeah, she's fucking vile.
Starting point is 00:14:16 Like, I don't care. I'm going to say it. I'm going to call some people out. Okay, I'm looking forward to this. But you mentioned PTSD for 9-11. For those,
Starting point is 00:14:24 because I do hope everybody goes back and hear. back and here is 88 and then comes back to 1974. You have all these numbers. Because that's the number of the episodes. I know, but I've all the last way to track it. We were a perfect match. Can I smoke dope in here? I know, you can't smoke dope in here.
Starting point is 00:14:38 Family House? You can eat. Well, it's just I don't want smoke in the carpet and everything. We can go, we can smoke. Actually, I have the tape. If I had knowing you had to smoke for the chat, I actually could have set this up in the backyard and we could have, no pausing.
Starting point is 00:14:50 You're going to have to hang in there. So 9-11 happened. No, I'm laughing. Can you tell. Just a little bit of like the Reader's Digest version of where were you for 9-11 and how did it cause this PTSD? I, um, okay, so drugs and alcohol as well and Ramey that makes fame and being loudmouthed 19 years old. So after 9-11, like I had a breakdown and I talked to a psychiatrist for an article I wrote for a magazine, a teen magazine. And she said, you're going to have like, I don't know how she worded it, but like you're going to lose your mind basically later.
Starting point is 00:15:26 from this because I was talking to her totally in shock all the details meticulously and as I was saying the details I was like in my head I'm like these aren't gruesome enough like so I went further as more disturbing as I could and where were you on September 11th, Brooklyn and like lower Manhattan where like the World Trade Center is our view
Starting point is 00:15:45 from our roof top I heard it I felt it through my body it was like thunder with like angry metal scraping but like the loud thunder like explosion noise was like more than thunder. So I looked out the window and the sky, blue sky, didn't make sense for that sound I heard because that sound obviously you didn't know it was a plane hitting the fucking WTC. And yeah, so then, you know, my roommate was home and shirt for MTV, but also was in
Starting point is 00:16:17 between gigs and she's screaming. She's on the phone with Rants, her boyfriend who worked cross street at moving.com. And I'm like, what the fuck's World Trade Center? I'd been there the night before, like at a karaoke bar that was our neighborhood like hangout because like the financial districts are ghost towns like in cities at nights. Very eerie.
Starting point is 00:16:36 I just remember that. And then so yeah, I lived there for a month and a half afterwards too and experienced all that a lot. Like we could do a whole show on just that alone. Well, now that we just hit the 25th anniversary last week, a week ago today. Like does that trigger you in any way?
Starting point is 00:16:53 Like everybody was talking about 9-11. Are you brought back to that day? Not this year. I mean, it did, but I give myself grace to, like, lose my shit. So what is that you just did? I need to know what you're doing this year. Dush flute. What is that?
Starting point is 00:17:05 Like, I see smoke. Okay, so this is like the cartridge, and then this is the battery. And this yellow shit is like the weed, Marijana. And something, something, Mary Jane. Okay. And then it's blue. That means it's charged. And then.
Starting point is 00:17:27 It's a high... Okay. I'm going to have to keep my mom blocked. I just need to know what's happening in the, you know, the home studio here. But this is the infused shit. All these ones are good. This is like expensive. This is like 35 after.
Starting point is 00:17:44 So you get five and this keef covered. Okay. That's what you want to do, but I won't let you do it in the basement. No, I know. No. Okay. But I've become kind of interesting, like a bit of a dumb ass. No, you're plenty interesting already, Raymond.
Starting point is 00:17:57 the mings come on so so nine 11 you were there and at some point what happened you had a complete breakdown um so last i was in toronto 19 it was online model blogging partying coke weed drinking and the devil was on my back like i was dating like a abusive serbian drug dealer should i say his full name no you're in charge of the words and i'm not going to your mouth anyway
Starting point is 00:18:24 that was the perfect storm and PTSD in the back of my mind and like following the Bush administration was very big um not CNN craziness that was like I'm starting to like look at that and listen to music at the same time and words are talking to me like secret messages and then you start to think people are talking double speak to you and you don't it's terrifying but this is like a delusion you're having absolutely it's a psychosis but that's typically not bipolar disorder right like there's typically bipolar disorder doesn't come up delusion does it so no you can go like in psychosis. Like, I have a friend who's got it. Like, we met recently and just like, oh my God,
Starting point is 00:19:01 like, we just share, you said psychosis. That's a secret word. So, um, anyway, I had a lot going on with the people around me and wanted to flee and get rid of this whole friend group. We're all using me up. Like, I was making money as an online model and more. And then, you know, I just, like, imploded and went to L.A. during SARS. And I thought I was like the secret carrier monkey of the virus. I thought Osama bin Laden was after me and getting it sniped out. So I was jumping on cars in Manhattan Beach and the guy went with as a stoner and I'm like, let's go, let's go, let's go. And he's like, down. I didn't get it. Like Canadians, we don't have palm trees and shit. This book, microsurped by Douglas Copeland, really inspired me. So I was seeing LA and all that shit really
Starting point is 00:19:49 fast. And from my mind, I was just snapped and I actually lived in where Blow was filmed there. Love that movie. Love that soundtrack. Della Blow. So Bluren was a nickname. LeBloirene is my real name. So anyway, that's what happened. And I was 50-2, whatever it's called, sectioned three days in L.A.
Starting point is 00:20:12 It's very painful to talk about this. Does that mean you're a danger to yourself? No. Yes. Oh, yeah. And others. And so I was like fully like in a mania super fast, super sonic hypomania, actually. and they had to put me in four point restraints and like inject me in the hip it was very traumatizing
Starting point is 00:20:32 and your mania your brain is so sharp i'm also wasn't like drinking at all and like i had a sip of oe that night whatever first they put me in the junk take the night before i got out then it was psych ward three days and then i got out went back to canada then had a stretch there at credit valley because it still then they had to give me like drugs to break your spirit break you down and then Ramey the Minks went away. It was horrible. Like, I'm going to stop talking about it now because I'm like crying. Did they, well, I don't want you to be, you know, retramatized or anything, but did they medicate you?
Starting point is 00:21:04 No, it's exposure therapy. Oh, yeah. Like, I was on these, like, one drug was like epival. I don't know if that was the one that's modern, uh, modern lithium, which is cool because that's an Nirvana song. But they're still subscribe. They're still prescribing lithium. Oh, yeah. They tried to give me Syracwell, right?
Starting point is 00:21:22 Which I should have taken a nine. needed but they accidentally said the word schizophrenia and because it's for people like it's a downer that like they need all the people on the street that are nutzos like they need that shit obviously right and hand held in a hug but so uh i didn't take it and i was dumb and like they so they had to break my you know breaks you and shuts you down and then also was on um le renza pam laurzapam wordsmith so that fucking it's like a weird dyslexia I think also because I'm like gifted too like all of this. They say I'm gifted too, Ramey.
Starting point is 00:21:58 Obviously. This doesn't come from an idiot. You're a dumb ass. Right. No, no, no one thinks you're a dumb ass. No, I said you're not a dumb ass. Well, thank you. It's about time somebody said that.
Starting point is 00:22:08 Okay. So I'm sorry about the, this experience. No, whatever. And I, you, you, you see somebody like you're in therapy? Yeah. Also, I was triggered by like brown people. So like the doctor I had. when I was in it
Starting point is 00:22:24 terrified me because I thought they were terrorists and stuff and there was also an Indian man who tried to hang himself in the lockup the smell like I was put in that room like the super locked out I tried to like break out kick the
Starting point is 00:22:36 try to be a runaway many times that will be a good part of the book it's worth mentioning how so very young you are at this point in your life I'm 20 yeah and I got pregnant and had abortion like that guy did something to me like I never done before
Starting point is 00:22:52 No this was a guy after that um the to get away from that and then i was oh god like just stayed a week in the hotel shared in hotel like everyone was seeing it happen right no one was like actively happily happy helping just part of i don't know what do you do like you can't tell me and like i was like delusions of grandeur ramy the minxkin like it was true too and like people were watching the whole show then in la i was still blogging and shit crazy was talking to someone at msson like messenger whatever time it was and just like, ah, this is nutcase.
Starting point is 00:23:26 And he's like, oh, my, you're gonna even type fast enough. The amount of shit I was saying, I'm sorry to everyone out there that I've, if you've been like personally attacked by me or hurt. Not the ones who absolutely deserved it though. Like, not even, like, that's the haters and trolls, but. You know who you are. You fucking know.
Starting point is 00:23:44 I-Y-K-Y-K. Okay. Yeah, you know, you know. So it was 1999 when I began what I called at the time a personal homepage. where I was writing blog entries, yeah, but they didn't have reverse chronological, like they weren't blog.
Starting point is 00:23:59 It wasn't the format of a blog. It was like you would post something like a thought or a thing. It was like a blog post, but then I would put another one up and delete the one I wrote originally, okay? You look good over there. Show me those pipes over there. So 99 I'm starting something,
Starting point is 00:24:14 around the same time as you, I guess, but what I saw in the early 2000s was blogs like rameetamink's. And that things, and I mentioned, Aaron Davis in passing, but there were these blogs around. Aaron Davis was a morning show host on CHFI for a very long time. Like she was a famous Toronto radio personality. And she had a blog, Erin's Journal.
Starting point is 00:24:36 I think she still has it too. Yeah. She still had it. We must have rubbed shoulders. Well, this is it. So in this small, I would say, because my first true blog entry is in 2002, where I'd already seen blogs like yours. Okay.
Starting point is 00:24:49 So you were there at the beginning. I was watching the space closely. at the same time. I'm a bit older than you, as you know. And I gotta say, you were there doing your thing, but there's not, I can't think of anyone else. Who's still doing her thing. Garbage.
Starting point is 00:25:03 Well, if you started at 17. So I tell people, I'm Canada's most famous blogger since the year 2000. And I'm still going. So like technically it's true. Famous. Yeah, I'm infamous, famous. So famous, that's the spin doctor term.
Starting point is 00:25:17 But like, who else started in 2000? It is still doing it. Well, I started in 2002 and I'm still doing it. wrote about Donato and the true story behind his Not 2000. I had a personal homepage in 2000. So I deleted everything I had up to 2002.
Starting point is 00:25:32 I wish I could see my GeoCities and other old shit, man. So how far back do the archives go of your current... On my blog, they're all there. It's the first day, 2000. So again, when I mentioned 1999 before, like I swear to God there was shit, but I might be getting it fucked because I was on vice, uh, WhatsApp message boards, which is how I started Remy Themings.
Starting point is 00:25:53 or blogspot.com, life happens to Ramee, and then everybody loves Ramee, because everybody loves Ramey. You're melting in the chair, but I'll just move the mic, and you can stay there. I talk loud.
Starting point is 00:26:03 No, I like, I like, I won't work this. And it's going to make me of a triple chain. I'm not going to like looking at this. Well,
Starting point is 00:26:08 I'm going to have a fight. Okay, dude, the chair. The chair is donated by Blue Sky Agency. Hello to Doug Mills if he's listening. Well, what's up guys?
Starting point is 00:26:15 You got things going on with these armrest. Maybe that's why they gave them to me, because the, oh, Did they get these from the dumpster or the Biden? They're like, oh, people don't want those arms. As is section. Okay, so we're going to just rein this in,
Starting point is 00:26:27 reamy this in a little bit here, okay? I was about to make a good point, no idea. They'll do it. I don't remember. It's gone. Okay. It'll come back to you here. In the comments.
Starting point is 00:26:34 You dropped another bomb on me off the top that I took a note to come back to. You said acute pancreate. Yeah, a titus. It's tough to say. Can you spell it? I guess you can because you're really the means. Acute. Nothing cute about it.
Starting point is 00:26:48 Which means it's really flametering. layered up and bad. Right. And I took it when I heard that as not as bad, but no. It's actually fucking bad. And I, so, yeah, you're in pain, right? It's like right there. It's like near connected to your liver.
Starting point is 00:27:04 Well, if you say, because most people hear this as a podcast. So you're pointing to the space between your breasts. Down there, right? So like you feel it. Like there's like above it, there's a part where I took swimming lessons, life saving shit and you could kill someone if you just there. solar plexas or some shit. The champ.
Starting point is 00:27:22 Okay. And so then I'm guzzling wine sitting in my room on my bed, like bedridden and what, like, oh, it's brutal. And I'm feeling the pain and then laying down and like, oh, then I was taking Tylenol. So I was like ODing and I didn't know it. And I had to go to the hospital and I was hospitalized. And I have pictured. Did you see the pictures of me that I posted?
Starting point is 00:27:44 How huge. Yeah. Yeah, you looked like you were pregnant. It was terrible. So I was also on a fluid. Oh, you're cold. Yeah. Okay, because you're putting on a sweater.
Starting point is 00:27:54 Yeah, it's okay. I'm going to wear it a cool way. Jonathan Taylor Thomas is my fashion crew from Shoutout Home Improvement and Tim Allen. And so I... He also did blow. Yeah, he's got that mugshot. I want my goddamn mugshot from Manhattan Beach. I'm sure they scrubbed it.
Starting point is 00:28:13 But, like, I had this friend Merkley. I'm going to refriend him. Like, I kind of made us fight. I said, you're like evil now. Well, whatever. Anyway, so he had a mugshot of himself on a shirt of him where he's wearing like a blue suit. And he's like, he looks fabulous. He's so fucking, you know, he's actually had a band of the drummer from No Doubt's in it.
Starting point is 00:28:33 He's like a San Francisco artist and shit. But he actually had his own podcast where he like talked about us. And he kind of slagged me in the being of it. Like, what did he say about this? Ramey, this girl who blah, blah. just the tone like just kind of dismissive but like I don't know wouldn't you talk about it if someone said you're evil now I feel like I'm talking way too much over you no you're doing great but I do need the acute pink oh yeah it hurts and but how long back did this happen this episode you're describing
Starting point is 00:29:04 314 days ago oh oh so that's the day you stopped drinking yeah okay so tell me more though like what what were your symptoms so um because that photo which uh was wild in that you had to a bloated stomach. It's also from fluid. And that, like, as I was there for, I don't even remember how long, but more than one day for sure. I didn't want to leave. You become institutionalized. It's like you have your own room. I had my laptop. I remember the moves I was watching. I was also on, like, dilated or whatever the shit you do. Right. To, like, come off of drinking. And I recommend if you're detoxing, go to the hospital instead of detox. Because, like, I was going to always going to do it. You have to
Starting point is 00:29:46 wait for the bed and then, you know, they give you only like minimal, you don't give you enough shit. And I was, okay, well, if you have pancreatitis, you're going to the hospital anyway. So I'm in a lot of pain. Okay. And they, um, I didn't, uh, my organs were shutting down and they were trying to tell me that and my mom and they said, I'll talk to, they called my mom and told her and not me. Um, because I didn't want to fucking hear it.
Starting point is 00:30:12 You could have died. I still, I mean, deluded, deluded delusions about it. because it's scary. Yeah, but I've had, like, checkup since and stuff, and I'm good. Like, I'm actually now focused on other parts of my body. Like, you know, anyway, I'm, I'm bounced back, and they took me off the steroids. I was very speedy, very manic around Christmas time. I was rapping, got millions of presents and had to get them done yesterday.
Starting point is 00:30:39 And this guy gets this, this pile of crap from Dollar Ram. I'm like, who gives a shit? I'm not doing this again. So, yeah, they're like, you. don't need the steroid anymore, Loren, you are good. And so, do you have pancreatitis anymore when you don't have it? I don't know, I don't have any flare-ups. My liver's good. You know, diet is important. You follow the Mediterranean diet. Like, I have a cousin who had this shit too and she doesn't drink. So, who knows, right? Like, my mom's got a fatty liver and she doesn't drink. So it's diet, diet, diet,
Starting point is 00:31:12 Like everything you put in you and your surroundings. So what's your diet like these days, Ramey the Minks? This shit. And I'm pretty sure that they hate me. Most people hear it as a podcast. So San Pellegrino. San Pellegrino. They're light.
Starting point is 00:31:24 So they're only four grams of sugar. And so I'm all about. Well, this can't be your diet. This is a, okay, that. This is a, a busy drink. Weed, Adderall, well-buterine. Is there any food in that diet? And then food.
Starting point is 00:31:36 So like my metabolism just demolishes it. Like yesterday I had a burger, cheeseburger. Okay. And then my mom made breakfast. I had to force it on me and then she bought me vitamins because she realizes I'm restricting. Color deficit. I want to have a bounce back body.
Starting point is 00:31:51 I'm 43. I want, you know, like, come on. May I compliment that you look fit to me? Thank you. Especially when I saw that photo from 300 and something days ago.
Starting point is 00:32:00 Yeah, that's why I did it. You have bounced back. So I waited until I looked good before I came out with this story. Okay. Because if I looked like shit and I still was going through the shit, like some people can do these hospital selfies for attention and I was like, bro. Like, I don't know. Like, it's good to see it. I'll, like, not knocking it. But I mean,
Starting point is 00:32:17 for me personally, I've got this, like, arrogance about me and like, um, not conceitedness. Yeah, same shit. What is it? Like, it, I want, I want it to be safely hot now and then show, look at that not hot. But don't you want to be authentic. Just to show the people that I've, explains why I'm taking all these selfies and shit again and doing that. We're getting to that for sure, but don't you want to be authentic? I am. Okay, yeah, but you're cherry picking when you'll take a picture and stuff.
Starting point is 00:32:47 Well, you don't need to be all that you can be all the time for everyone. Like, they don't get to see you all the fucking time, right? Like some girl was like, can I see your pussy? I'm like, not for free. And you're probably not even a girl. You're just some guy who made a dumb account. Mom shit. I'm not that
Starting point is 00:33:03 dumb. You're probably my hater. Like, if you want to see my pussy, you pay for it. Sorry. But why do you have so many haters? Like, what do you do that's hateful? Because I fucking talk shit. I'm, I see insult crap and then I go for it. Okay, good. I have this thing where I want them to get Stockholm syndrome and, like, come around again.
Starting point is 00:33:22 Like, and I just love a fight. I think that's the Irish part of me. And that's how I come up from fucking vice message boards and magazine. They would publish my shit every month to, Waguan. And so I'm proud of that. And so, like, the body shit, proud of that too. And so, I don't know. I'm not cherry pick, yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:38 because I'm the boss. What goes, I say. Okay, so you are authentic, but you still have your personal... That's a weird take. Guess again. No. See, only because you made a point of saying that, you know, you're not going to take a photo while you're having a hospital stay.
Starting point is 00:33:56 I took those. I'm saving them for the book. To explain it to people can see that shit. A lot of ground to cover here, Ramey, but I need to know more about this book. Like, when can we read this book? What's the book about? Do you have someone who can help me? I have like a friend, Emily Whedon, who she's an author.
Starting point is 00:34:13 She's being here. She talks. Yeah, we've had some talks. Now, and she's fucking busy too, and she gives me her time. Anyone who gives you their time. She writes about vampires. Or blood, uh, yeah. Auto crater or something.
Starting point is 00:34:26 I don't know. She's very. No, more than vampires. No, more than that. But that was the book she was promoting was about blood, hemo. Okay. And I, because I was seeing a hymoh. You shout it out.
Starting point is 00:34:38 You know more. I'm going to look up the name of this book. I had a lovely, I'm just saying she was in the basement here recently, and we had a lovely conversation. So what did Emily Whedon tell you? So she, like, gives me input about how to get it organized, because that's part of the ADHD. It's really hard.
Starting point is 00:34:53 And summer's been busy. So now winter is coming that I'm going to do it. Hemosapiens was the book we were talking about. Hemos sapiens. Is that vampire shit? It's a twist on the vampire myth. And then, of course, the book you mentioned is Autocrator, which is a... I'm saying it right?
Starting point is 00:35:08 Yeah, I never know how to say that word. The front of it is cool. I liked her. I had a good combo. I know we're from the music industry era, chapter of my life. So I'm very sentimental about her.
Starting point is 00:35:17 There's a music. I got to take a note on that. But finish the thought on the book. Of course. Okay. Sorry, I love you. You can say it if you want,
Starting point is 00:35:23 but I don't know much about the music part of your life. That was like, okay. Yeah, my 20s. Well, finished the book thought. So anyway, yeah, I'm just like,
Starting point is 00:35:32 so anyway, she's a good tip from a writer. I'll pass along and it's like, so write, your chapters out. So each chapter for me is chunks period times time periods when I got my period um of significant things in my life milestone. So like hospital um blogging in 2000 um 9-11 free free blogging world too 9-11 for sure um being an online model um being engaged um being unengaged and um different boyfriend and then different hairstyles.
Starting point is 00:36:08 I don't know. Like I have it all written out. And so I use Google Docs as well as I thought I was writing short sex story. So I have five chapters written out of that SSS, which is cute. And so three or two I've published already on my substack, but there's a paywall. And so the third one I'm going to do, that one is called Orchard Bar Grill, which is like a threesome story that happened to me in New York. So I'm dabbling with that. Like I'm all over the, you know, there's spaghetti at the wall.
Starting point is 00:36:36 So I'm doing the writing, like the sexy shit and nudes. Like girls got bills. Also, this shit in for free after all these fucking years. I'm not sitting and waiting for someone to come help me. I am, but like tell me what to do. Give me permission, right? Like this Blue House documentary thing I'm kind of doing, documenting that.
Starting point is 00:36:53 I don't know if you're aware. Well, tell me now. The Facebook, Karens were not happy about it. I made this selfie video being like, I went to this house, you know, the day before. and like they decided I'm going to cover them and they're kind of um scandalous because they make noise for the neighborhood down there that street is just loud in general it's lake shore and they you know the facebook karens are bored so i put it out posted on the burlington group and then
Starting point is 00:37:18 they fucking went nuts i wasn't actually going to do it like for sure but now i'm then i was like i'm going to do it so one video that went viral these guys hugging and i think the hashtag man love did it because i don't think they're hug like they're looking for love or you know, like community. It's because like it's a sexual thing. Okay, wait, my apologies though, because you've mentioned a few things and I got to make sure I got them all right. So you're actively writing a book.
Starting point is 00:37:42 You're doing it in Google Docs. Bang my head against the wall. You're being tutored in some respect. Emily and I have had a few talks. And she also has to tell me to shut up and, you know, I pushed her patience. But that's good. We're different. Like I'm like the unbridled fucking creative who it's hard.
Starting point is 00:38:02 To do it like you we need emilies. We need help honing in. Like being a self-starter is hard. I have done events for myself. Like my 10 year blog anniversary. Like, oh my God, almost had a nervous breakdown. Basically did.
Starting point is 00:38:15 Doing it myself and feeling like you got something to prove. Right. And like I did that all for free. All my sponsors. I didn't pay anyone a dime. Even down to like the dresses I wore. Now you may ask me a question that you wanted to. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:30 So you're working on the book. Yes. mentioned a substack several times now. Do you want to give the ad So Ramey the minks. Ramey the minks.com. Okay. There are posts that are free.
Starting point is 00:38:41 Then there are paywall posts and those ones are the nudes. So it's like my version of only fans plus Peewee's Playhouse, Ramey the Minks experience. Mr. Dresslap is also a fucking inspiration. Tickle trunk.
Starting point is 00:38:56 Oh yeah. Big, big dressup fan here. Okay. So if I remember Ramey Themks. the blog from the heyday of blogging is you would post nude photos on that blog, right? Because I was flat and I thought no problem. And I was an online model. Go on.
Starting point is 00:39:13 Okay. Yeah. So you used, if I'm reading between the lines, at some point you realized, why am I giving away my nudity when I could put my nudity behind a paywall and profit from it? The easy like mechanism or the platform didn't exist like TikTok. didn't exist back then if it did oh man right so or instagram or facebook or my space um right so you you basically now that substack exists and you can put certain posts behind a paywall
Starting point is 00:39:46 shout out him bus blog a comrade blogger of mine he worked for the la times and other shit now he's ubers and he writes about his hollywood fucking uber tales and he has a book on that i can't remember what's called, but I don't know if you, do you only interview Canadians? No. So you could interview him over the phone. Look, I talked to John Cleese a couple weeks ago, yeah. That's amazing. So I will talk to non-Canadian.
Starting point is 00:40:14 He doesn't, uh, he doesn't believe somebody born with a penis can identify or should identify as a woman. Oh, there you go. Is that called a tur? That's what, uh, fucking Harry Potthead. Yeah, you know, and I will point out Harry Podhead, I will point out that, uh, the most, the biggest movies John Cleese has ever appeared in are Harry Potter movies. He was headless guy in, uh, oh yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:44 So I'm not saying that's related, except that that's a fact. I feel is relevant at this point. But so he's one of those, he is, I should say, he's in his 80s. He's in his late 80s, I believe. And John Cleese believes that it's all like, like, gender is completely tied to like the sex. the chromosomes, etc. So that was an interesting takeaway from the John Cleese,
Starting point is 00:41:06 but other than that, delightful gentleman in charming as fuck. Oh, I have to wear these. You don't have to. If you promise to say, stay on the mic, don't worry about, don't worry, Ramey,
Starting point is 00:41:16 Ramey. I love this sponsor here. I'm going to give you some food. Is there a banana peel? I'm going to give you some food. Right. All you have to do is promise you'll stay in front of that mic
Starting point is 00:41:23 and you don't have to wear the headphones because I'm not going to play any music, even though I hear you're a musician. So can I give you a gift and then accept your gifts and then I'm going to ask you about the music. So I have in my freezer upstairs, Rami the Minks, a large frozen lasagna from Palma Pasta.
Starting point is 00:41:41 Yes. Like it's going to feed you for days. Oh my God. Oh, my God. My dad's in heaven. So you said you live with your dad and a roommate? John. John.
Starting point is 00:41:50 All three of you will have a hearty meal. Nice. And if you like Italian food, you'll love Palma Pasta. And I just want to say much love to Palma Pasta. And thank you for sending over this lasagna. Thank you. For Ramey the Minks. Yes.
Starting point is 00:42:02 I'll tag them and shit. Do it all. Can I poach them from you? You can do. Hey guys. Good luck. I actually have a foodie era. You can do whatever you want.
Starting point is 00:42:12 Is this still on? It does feel weird not to have the things on. Well, I just, I like them on because I'll put them back on after I take some selfies. Do whatever you want. I have for you a measuring tape slash level slash flashlight slash bottle opener. Oh yeah. It's not a flashlight. I know I had to.
Starting point is 00:42:30 Low-hanging fruit. Courtesy of Ridley Funeral Home. What? They hope they don't see you again for another 50 years, okay, Ramey. But that is, it might be 60 years. So that's from the local funeral home, and I want to shout out their podcast, Life's Undertaking. And quickly, before we move on,
Starting point is 00:42:46 I want to shout out Building Toronto Skyline, a great podcast from Nick Iienes. He's going to do a live event on October 7th at the Old Mill where he's going to chat with Karen Stints. And I'm going to produce that episode. What do you got going there, Raymond? What are you playing right now? That's us right now.
Starting point is 00:43:04 I feel like this is that scene in Spaceballs. This is Spaceballs where you're listening to the podcast just slightly ahead of the... I could just tune you out for the rest of the fucking show, eh? Well, you know... People hate this. You get locked in on Adderall and what you're doing. You need me on that wall, Rami, because I'm literally recording this thing here. So last but not least, Ramey the Minks, if you have old electronics, old devices, old cables.
Starting point is 00:43:26 What about weeds? Nothing. I mean, if you have a... Yeah, okay. If you had a weed, electronic. too. I'm sure that counts. Don't throw it in the garbage. Those chemicals end up in our landfill.
Starting point is 00:43:36 Go to recyclemyelectronics.ca. Put in your postal code wherever the heck you're living and find out where you can drop that off to be properly recycled. You got it? Just drop in life off sense. Do you remember that URL? Say it again.
Starting point is 00:43:48 Recycle my electronics.cate. Now you're warm. You're taking off your sweater? For the pictures. For the gram. Oh, for the, okay. Mind your business. Well, that is my business.
Starting point is 00:43:58 Okay. You're on my turf here. So we got the acute pancreate, a tithe story, and it sounds like you've recovered. And I hope that, like, I hope it never happens to you again. I'm glad you changed your diet. Like, because it's a slippery slope, right? One is not enough. A thousand's too many.
Starting point is 00:44:14 See, I'm taking a selfie. Just remember to get back in front of that mic when you're done. I am. You want me to pose? No, it's sending a picture of me. Oh my God. Sorry, she's doing a selfie on the mic. Okay.
Starting point is 00:44:26 You're sober, but you smoke a lot of weed. This is all good. You're making money. with your body. I don't know how I was to say it. Rude. Well, yeah. And my mind.
Starting point is 00:44:37 Okay, but people are, let's face it, people are paying the money because what I've seen is you'll go on your blog and you'll post a picture of yourself, but you'll censor the photo. And then you'll say, if you want to see the photo uncensored, go to my substack. How much is it cost to see?
Starting point is 00:44:52 So you can subscribe and then you, I think it's like, I made it 40, a bit more. It's an American. I don't remember, but whatever. It's worth it, you're saying. Yeah, and so I... Here, I can take a picture of you?
Starting point is 00:45:09 Okay, hold on. I'll pose too. Yeah, do pose. This is my thinking pose. Actually, it's better when the elbow was a little bit by the purple button. Okay. Your elbow, no, your elbow,
Starting point is 00:45:19 yeah, lean that way, yeah. I don't know why. Your body was more open. No, note, I didn't take off my cheaters here, my readers here, my readers. To do it again? No, because we're going to do a selfie by the tree, and that's good enough.
Starting point is 00:45:32 And you can do as many as you want out there. Okay. I only need the readers. This is something I didn't have when you were first here, but I need the readers because I can't tell the difference between a six and a five on my computer. Oh my God. I'm so blind. Like these, yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:45 Okay, well, that's my problem here. We'll share problems here. Okay. So, and this only hit me when I turned 50. So when I turned 50, suddenly my eyes said, hey, you need some help to see what is a five, what is a six. I want to be that guy of the font size. That's, like, ridiculous.
Starting point is 00:45:58 Mine's really bad. Yeah, I can't even. Like, if I can't find my glasses when I'm up, just like... And sometimes I'll have the sunglasses in my mouth and the only glasses on my head. I look like a freak. All over town. I have to, like, wear the glasses around my neck. I've, like, this purse, I'm going to go to a smaller purse because, like, there's so much shit in there.
Starting point is 00:46:17 Like, a woman's purse is a nightmare for that. That's your brain. Right. You're swirling shit around. And then, God forbid it goes upside down. That one little thing in that one little stupid pocket. Where is it? Stab yourself with your tooth.
Starting point is 00:46:28 I know where those always are. Okay, cool. It's embarrassing and you're like, no, but can you please? Shut up? No, tell me about the musician chapter that I seemed to have missed.
Starting point is 00:46:39 I thought I knew everything about it. I thought I was the authoritative. Like, if you had passed away when your organs were shutting down, okay? I'm glad this didn't happen. I'm just saying, knock on wood. No, well, this is 300 days ago, whatever. If it had happened,
Starting point is 00:46:51 I would probably be the official documentarian who would be sharing the Ramey the Mink's story and I would probably title the episode Remembering Ramey the Minks and it would be excerpts from your first visit. Now if it happens, it's going to be excerpts from your first visit
Starting point is 00:47:08 and then your second visit. So I thought I knew everything about you, but I think I'm probably so fringe in that last one. Now I don't give a shit. I should play it right now. Can you please tell me about this musicianship? I didn't remember you as a musician. Okay, tell me about it.
Starting point is 00:47:23 Oh my God, that mic is like right in my crotch. Okay, now back on the mic and tell me that mic, that mic, not this mic. Tell me about being a musician. So actually, I've been in bands, but this was actually, I met my music industry era. So I was invited to Gibson Showroom for the launch of North by Northeast.
Starting point is 00:47:42 And me and my ex went, and we brought our friend Pitt, and he kept calling it a junction or like a media function. I don't know, it was really funny. That guy's hilarious. Conjunction, junction. I lost him in my, I left my fiancé.
Starting point is 00:47:56 I lost a bunch of people. So you were in, and again, I'm going to get back to being your engagement, but please finish the thoughts on the being in the music industry. So I went that open doors for me and I was like an influencer and I didn't know it. I didn't know I was like, I knew I was a trailer release or I did it mind. But are we early 2000s?
Starting point is 00:48:13 Where are we here? I, this is like 2005. Okay, heyday of blogging. I was there. Heyday of blog. And it was like people would read my blog the next day after the concert we all went to. And like I would be standing on stage back.
Starting point is 00:48:26 stage green room tour buses that's fucking awesome like I had a you know a friendship with Matt good no we've never fucked um I did see him in concert two weeks ago yeah I was gonna go to that but um I was gonna hang out with him beforehand but then I was like Cini was way too overstimulating oh yeah for sure I just remembered this you were there I was there you were talking about me too fucking Bob Lillette's friend by the way your earring eh I like that that's new new because on block new I was like I was like Although the hole's been there. This guy's having a massive meal life crisis.
Starting point is 00:49:00 Some people, some people buy sports cars. It's great. And I bought this, but I had that hole in my ears since I was 15. So this is like, I really spent a lot of time and what earring should I wear? You should, like, and that's like, it's silver. It's sterling silver. It's chunky.
Starting point is 00:49:16 It's subtle. I'm going to send you an earring. Okay. Do it. Okay. Please. Where am I here? Oh, yeah, Matt, good.
Starting point is 00:49:22 I just remembered before I had a podcast when I was a lowly blogger. He emailed me, sorry, and asked to be linked on my blog. I got email from MG at m Matthewgood.org. And Tony, he had found me through Tony Pierce's blog, who isn't Canadian. But anyway, so he, I guess I was a girl, I am a girl. And we became instant friends. He called me on the phone long, like, he hadn't been diagnosed with bipolar yet. And I told him my shit.
Starting point is 00:49:51 I feel like he stole my mental problems, but no. Like I went on tour of them as is like chaperone assistant not to do fucking laundry like the other girl did. So other people on tour had to fucking manage their expectations. I wasn't a schlepper. Hell no. I was there for him. And so he had a breakdown in Montreal. We had to get a psychiatrist.
Starting point is 00:50:12 And then they gave him the proper medication. And he threw this tour, right? Like being a celebrity is a lot of pressure during a fucking public meltdown breakup of your marriage. Right? The dude was fucking a mess. And so at least they sort of broke even. But it was a lot, a lot. So yeah, over the years, you know, you keep friends and like all my blogger, Lil Ramey's and whatnot.
Starting point is 00:50:38 They've grown too. And it's amazing. They've been inspired. And they fucking, you know, are like, yeah, you're back. And I remember you this and that. So that fills my cup. Thanks, everybody. Seriously.
Starting point is 00:50:49 So the memory I have around 2004, maybe, is the first. first interview I ever had with any kind of a rock star was actually an email interview with Matt Good. So way before Toronto Mike. Wow, good for you. It was with Matt Good. How'd you get that? How'd you, Fran Engel? He was accessible.
Starting point is 00:51:07 Like he was, you could reach him. You could find, you were able to like communicate. So I wrote him directly. And the only thing I had before that was I had a interview with, do you remember the musician known as custom? Oh. Hey, mister. I really like your daughter.
Starting point is 00:51:23 right? Does this ring a bell? It does ring a bell. I'm not lying, but don't sing. Does he sound like that? When I'm horny like thirsty on my bottle of water.
Starting point is 00:51:35 He's dead now. So shout out to Ridley funeral home. But custom was a buddy like right after that. But on that note. How much you're getting for all this shit, eh? On that note, on that note. So a couple of thoughts I'm going to tie up here.
Starting point is 00:51:48 This is the difference in you and I. Like I have it. What's your audience, by the way? I can see the loop I have to close. here and I know to grab it there and I just sort of store it there like it's on a shelf and then I'll go here and I'll pull that down. That took a lot of work and managing
Starting point is 00:52:01 all my alphabet soup. But to finish this thought, to finish this thought, Custom, whose real name is Dwayne LaBold. He would send me songs throughout his life. He would send me songs that were unreleased. And one song he sent me that I actually was just listening to this morning was a song
Starting point is 00:52:17 he was recording with Duncan Sheik. Duncan Sheek had a huge hit With barely breathing You remember this? I am barely breathing Well the sad news Is he's no longer breathing
Starting point is 00:52:31 Duncan Sheik has passed away That means we've lost both custom And Duncan Sheet Everyone you interview dies Well Matt Good's still around Because I saw him at Pia Yeah I want to say Knock on wood man
Starting point is 00:52:42 Knock on wood You were the subject of a conversation I had with Bob's dear friend I believe her name is Sarah I want to say And Bob Willett is a guy at the concert with at the Mac Good concert. And you came up because I have a memory. And Brad Madd was there.
Starting point is 00:52:58 Who? Sarah. Okay, yeah, Sarah. I didn't know her nickname there. She's a blogger. I had a memory of, and you tell me if I'm out to lunch here, were you ever like a regularly featured in somebody's column in I Weekly or Now magazine? I was covered in I and now like all of the gazettes from Toronto.
Starting point is 00:53:19 Somebody have you come in as like a guest, like answer people's questions. I had. Who was that? There was another like Zine magazine. I can't remember his name. My memory is I'd be reading something like an article. I weekly and then somebody would get questions from the readership.
Starting point is 00:53:36 Yeah. Have Rainey the Minks answer them. I wish. Like life advice. Or they copied me. That was always like a fucking dream or like to do. Maybe. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:53:46 I swam for a lot of weed and drank a lot of booze. So like. Swiss cheese brain here. When I listen back to episode 88, I'm sure we talked about it. And you probably, I probably remembered at that point. That was 12 years ago.
Starting point is 00:53:57 I probably remembered who it was. So we'll get back to that. But back to you and the musician, like you were touring with Matt Good. I remember this very public episode with his wife at the time. I had to take a train to Kingston because he had taken too many medications. Winky wink. So that was a fun train ride at a steak and red wine.
Starting point is 00:54:18 And I was drinking the whole. whole time because it was very stressful. Right. It took me a while to get over it. And actually my birthday happened. So they, all the blogger, like,
Starting point is 00:54:26 I had like my own fans through Matt Good, who were Matt Good fan groupies and Ramey groupies. And they would knock on the tour bus for me too. And I think there's one point like, I don't know what fucking town we were in, but yeah, I was not pumped. People kind of had to disappear because,
Starting point is 00:54:41 you know, shit was going on. But I had, I was getting paid for that and I got like daily money. So like, we wouldn't stop to do laundry. I kept buying underwear from Walmart and shit and just I got all my little goodies
Starting point is 00:54:53 that you, as a girl, you need to buy every day of your nuts. For just comfort. What kind of goodies? Fuck out of. Like chocolate? What are we talking about? Packs of underwear.
Starting point is 00:55:02 Okay. Smokes? Was I smoking cigarettes? Probably, yeah. Sox? Open that. Okay, so I said we were going to do a gift exchange. 288 each. I bought five of them. Okay. Socks. This is good.
Starting point is 00:55:14 I'm going to put this up in the Toronto Mike Studio. You're going to wear those? Or you just going to collect us? I might just like set it up, you know, my pen was running out as I was inscribing it. Let me describe it for the listenership. It says, stay frosty.
Starting point is 00:55:26 And there's a picture of a snowman drinking a great legs beer on the cover. Okay, I see that right there. But it is socks. Here's to a season of chill moments and warm memories. And there's like literally, this is socks where a snowman is drinking a beer. But here's what you wrote, okay, with pen.
Starting point is 00:55:43 This is from Ramey the Minks. I appreciate you, Toronto, Mike. This one's on me. all the best, Ray me the mix. 100% this is going in the Toronto Mike's studio.
Starting point is 00:55:52 I'm going to just like reference it. Is that or a pig? Green one with a pig and a pint? That's good, but you gave me something else too.
Starting point is 00:55:58 When you don't drink you think everyone doesn't drink. So that's a vintage find. I five finger discounted it from my mom. So she has stuff in the basement. It's a beanie baby.
Starting point is 00:56:09 It's no, it's, I guess, but it's Peter Rabbit. It's a collector's item. Okay. And it's cute. It's a boy toy. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:56:17 boy. Your boy. I am a boy. I don't know. I like little things. It rounds out your little knick-knacks in collection. He's got a name. I have four kids.
Starting point is 00:56:25 How old are they now? 24, 22, 12, and 10. Do they have, okay, well, there you go. But they can have a kid. This is mine. The kids don't get it. Flopsie. Okay, so thank you for my...
Starting point is 00:56:34 What's his name? Flopsy? Aw. You mentioned you were engaged once. Yep. So when was this and what happened? Moody. I loved him.
Starting point is 00:56:45 It was very hard. I kind of had like a rebound fling and the guy was nice to me and it was like oh my god and like other other guys at the cottage were saying I looked hot in a bikini my own man wasn't it's all I wanted and he thought that I got enough from my blog attention and I just wanted from him he was moody a lot like my brother reminded me of a story um he came one night to our condo and like we got kicked out in the morning because he was set up all night he's in Toronto and it was a work night and like I was like under the rule of him all the shit that I am now I've done would not happen like I miss him I think about him I do have dreams I'm grateful like nothing bad to say
Starting point is 00:57:27 curious about him I'll start crying right now fuck but yeah the Globe Mail wrote about it and then it was scandalous is scandalous and it resparked like my blog I'd like many viral moments over the years and peaks and valleys and up and so it like when we got engaged Facebook was new we changed our status to engage and that fucking blew up so for a month it reinvigorated um like the honeymoon feeling and so we were tilled for five years all in and he had the ring back i wish i kept it he said resale value for jewelry isn't very good so so you ended it yeah but like there were a couple times over the years where he was close and I just
Starting point is 00:58:17 got him back right like either way I thought like the next day I could fix it or something like I did like I've been a dog house but he was too like he was reading my email privately for three fucking years behind my back I'm like why are you always mad at me why why and I was a good girl in my email and shit but he was targeting this girlfriend of mine who's like
Starting point is 00:58:35 older woman has my back kind of and like narcissists they want you to isolate you and like gaslight you and keep you nuts to control you and stuff And so one day finally, I almost fainted. He goes, you know why? And I was like, I knew I was going to get hit with some truth. And I've been reading your email for three years.
Starting point is 00:58:57 And so by just like short circuit. That's a great violation of trust, though. Circuited. Yeah, I should have ended it right then. But all this shit adds up, right? But like, I was like broke dating this guy. Like, I was like just had like working. with maybe 1,500 a month or so.
Starting point is 00:59:16 And like I had logsherships, whatever the fuck, endorsements or, you know, enough. And so my bills, I played, I didn't pay our rent, but I paid for the party and entertainment. And also I'm a generous person. So I've, and just dump my bank count every month. Yeah. I don't know. It's part of my love language.
Starting point is 00:59:36 You're a giver. I am. That's sweet. And so it makes me feel good. So blah-bidi-blah, where was I? I didn't, all that blog stuff that was like made me success was like on scraps and peanuts and like the H&M clearance rack. The shit no one else wanted to wear. It looked weird on your body.
Starting point is 00:59:56 I would wear that because it was like 10 bucks or whatever. And yeah, you get creative. Money's okay now. So right? Like it's just like when you're in a mania and you're bipolar, you can spend lots of money. 100%. I try to keep at least. least like 10 grand in my bank account.
Starting point is 01:00:15 Most people listening probably don't have that much in their bank account. I doubt. I doubt. I don't have debt. I don't have kids. Like I try and like this. I am the, also Rami the Minks is like money too, right? So I'm like, that's my pedigree. That's my dowry. How much money in the bank right now, Ramey the Minks? Why? You just said 10. You said 10. Keep it around. Well, in my book, I wrote about like obsessions and like OCD stuff because that's another diagnoses I have and agoraphobia. Oh my God.
Starting point is 01:00:49 What the hell? Where was I going with that? You know, I was just asking you with my tongue and my cheek if you could disclose your finances for us all. Yeah, it's about that, a bit more and on the way up. And so it's like it's where it is and then where it will be and then where it'll come down again.
Starting point is 01:01:02 We'll go up again. Right? And so like I'm making some cash off my like substack. Like you pay out and you get tax receipts for everything. so everyone, you fucking, you know, tax. Tax snitches. I'm on top of my taxes. I got to count.
Starting point is 01:01:17 I don't fucking worry about me. Good. Worry about you. I got to get ahead of these people, man. I know this comes back to the haters. I just want to spend a moment on this because... Masturbators. It's one thing if you're going to go at in-sell idiots.
Starting point is 01:01:30 Like, that's fair game. Like, those guys are, you should punch those down at those guys. Whatever. They might be having sex, but they just are women haters. Yeah, well, that's misogyny. That's a great rusty song. Shout out to Jim. He's on the live stream.
Starting point is 01:01:41 I came for a cell. someone like earlier in the summer. When you're busy with other shit, you get busy with more shit, right? And so like I was always online watching Love Island every fucking day in July. Oh, it was a great summer. And so I had this other flame more parallel to that shit I'm tweeting about all the time. And what the hell was it about? Just this guy like saying, don't cry in front of women.
Starting point is 01:02:05 They will dump you. They hate you. I said, absolutely not. I'm more attracted to a man who's emotional and cries. it's actually a red flag if he doesn't right and actually i look to him and like makes it makes it it makes you want to protect him love him and actually he has all of these positives you don't fucking know he's you insals don't have any real life experience it's based on hearsay and other podcaster fucking insale man those for your dicks right Andrew tate you piece of garbage like
Starting point is 01:02:31 you are doing such damage stop like let let just organically boys be boys like i saw a ticot a guy filming the boys making their TikTok swirly broccoli-haired shit shit they do. Innocent. Green flags. Green flags. And the die wanted to make fun of them. And the comments, always go to the comments. That's your therapy. That's where you find the truth about everything.
Starting point is 01:02:53 Because you get all the spectrum, all the tics, and the majority rules. Okay, so these idiots who come at you because you go at them, that's whatever. That's a different category. Are there, do you have haters? Do you have haters? No, haters, though. Of course you have lovers.
Starting point is 01:03:09 I have a stalker, her and her sister, for many years, like 22 years at this point. 22 years. Every fucking day. Right now, finally blocked me because I said out loud I shouldn't have. Because, you know, she's making videos now. Everything I do, she does. And it's nuts. And then, like, gas lights about it.
Starting point is 01:03:27 And she has, like, this lispy fucking voice, crazy face. She's 10 years older than me. So when it started happening, when I was in my early 20s and she was 10 years old, it was very creepy to me. Like, why are you obsessed with me a woman 10 years older than me? So I've always been, I've come, become the ages that she has been during all these years, obviously, time it's on, we both age. And it's like, I'm not doing this to anybody. Like, you're fucked.
Starting point is 01:03:52 Like, why, like, single white female? She's obsessed with you. Yeah. And so I've tried every, like, um, method of dealing with it, which is not feeding the troll, not acknowledging it. And then she spins out even more. And like, when I worked for different, uh, companies where, like, I'm, being seen by them on my social media so I can look go wild out about
Starting point is 01:04:13 her I just fuming and like I hold all that resentment I don't forget right so that's 22 years Ramey that's that's quite the obsession okay 22 years honestly like if I set a threat on like right in here now about it like I could what go to jail
Starting point is 01:04:30 if I said things I would like to do allegedly it would have to be a specific threat just things I feel I would like to do just like I'm not even go there I just fucking wish this person would leave me the fuck alone. Can I make a suggestion? Someone who needs to be smarter than me
Starting point is 01:04:44 and it's because I'm gregarious and she's a wallflower fucking beta chick and I'm like this guy and I worked for this. Being here with you this is a high praise, you know? It's not for nothing. You're a repeat guest, okay? I was going to say a repeat offender. Ramey this stalker of 22 years. Yes, Carrie Snell.
Starting point is 01:05:03 Does this person live in America? So they don't know. She's jumping states right now. She had like a sham panic marriage to some guy she's grifting off because she got kicked out of her. So she's living in these rooming houses because she went to jail. You have to live with people before in the States before you're allowed to go live on your own. You have to show that you can cohabit. So she was always complaining, but all these other people. I was like, why is she living with six people and a million dogs and shit, right?
Starting point is 01:05:29 So my girlfriend in, I'm not going to say where, because I have other friends been watching for years who have my back and see like this is horrible that I have to deal with. it does mentally affect me but it does like also I can channel it and like makes me stronger and like compartmentalize and move on with my shit right I don't but does in the back of your head like nag at you because like
Starting point is 01:05:51 if there's something flaw in a picture of me she like posted a gremlin photo that got got me fucking nuts so like I come back with a fucking like nuclear war right when she does one little thing because at this point I've had enough can I just fucking do it anymore
Starting point is 01:06:07 22 years stalker. To me, like me, I got enough fucking problems, you bitch. Does this person have a following? Like, does this person have an audience? And she paid for fake followers and shit, bought,
Starting point is 01:06:18 and she posts just for me. Just no engagement outside of me. Well, that's my saying. This is, I'm going somewhere here. So follow me. Just focus on this. She goes off a cliff.
Starting point is 01:06:28 Does this person have a human following? Like, people that follow. But everyone hates her, even her own mom. Let her rot in jail. Five grand. Can I give you my,
Starting point is 01:06:36 if you were my, I don't know, my... Go ahead. You got to say faster and louder than me. Okay. I'll find it through. I'm going to boost the volume on this. Okay.
Starting point is 01:06:44 This is important. What if you just fucking block to this person everywhere? She is. Considering they're in the USA, they're not going to show up at your door or at this event or at my door or whatever. I wish she would. Oh, I wish you would. Well, sounds like she can't get in the country anyways.
Starting point is 01:06:58 Come for me, Carrie Snell. So what if you, though, honestly, what if you... You should never been to Toronto. I'll meet her there. Make good for her. If she's one fucking good day. If you blocked her everywhere and completely ignored her like that was your fucking job. She's on threats now.
Starting point is 01:07:13 That's where I'm going to go see that next. Just block and ignore. Yeah, sorry. That's not going to happen for an OCD person. Well, you know, celebrities. She's succeeding.
Starting point is 01:07:22 For 22 years, she's been successful in living rent-free in your head. Whatever. So does a million other things. Millian other things. Yes, but most people don't have an agenda. She thinks she's helping me. Okay, whatever.
Starting point is 01:07:35 Next topic. Now you're, now you're giving her too much. We're moving on, except it does feel like... It's a little bit... It's a little bit like a symbiotic relationship. Yeah, I know, I know. I'm giving her what she wants. She's talking you.
Starting point is 01:07:47 I don't think she wants to fucking smoke I give, though. I fucking leafing her. It's not a... I'll fucking learn you good. It should be a one-way street. You should never acknowledge she exists. I've done that. You know what happened one time?
Starting point is 01:07:59 I had a streak of not acknowledging or looking. Out of the blue one day, I look. And her tweet, just at the top, says, Ramey the minks is boring. I was like, you, my, that's trolling you and you're biting. You're biting. Yeah, but I did. I was good.
Starting point is 01:08:13 I didn't look. Okay. Well, my advice to you is never. Please move on. Yeah. Don't make me take you to Ridley funeral home. Don't produce my show, Ramey. I'm just saying disengage is my advice to you.
Starting point is 01:08:26 Yep. Okay, so that's my advice to you. Disengage completely 100%. That's all. And we kind of left it quickly. I'm sorry. The engagement that ended was it difficult for you? sounded like you really cared about this person.
Starting point is 01:08:39 Yeah. Well, you were going to marry this person. But I didn't believe we really would have a marriage because we didn't set a date and wasn't like, to even get him to believe in marriage at all was like in the beginning. It's like I thought this is mine, you know, like I wanted him. He's born with a silver spoon. I felt like he was out of my league. He was 10 years older too.
Starting point is 01:09:00 I actually read his email in the beginning where he was between me and some other woman who was older and someone was giving the pros and cons on both of us. Oh my God, when you're sneaking You're just kind of flood Like you're gonna shit yourself So sorry But anyway We had a good time
Starting point is 01:09:15 We had a good run And he I elevated He was a star fucker He likes famous people And so he got to meet a lot And has them as friends Like they next to me So you know
Starting point is 01:09:25 There's good and bad Who is your most famous friend Like today in 2026 You would consider a friend Like a famous fuck buddy Okay I can't Should I?
Starting point is 01:09:36 They blow blocked me because he had a baby and, but yeah, no, I won't say that. Oh, I know, actually, I know who this is. No, you don't. I won't say it because I do know it is. Okay, tell me, okay, with your, I'll just say one word, okay, ready? No. Okay.
Starting point is 01:09:50 Just do the letter, like, do the initial. Oh, do the last name. I was going to just. It's the last name. I'm kind of, I'm kind of, I'm kind of, I'm kind of hungry. I feel like maybe we could use some deli food, maybe some mustard. No. But that was one.
Starting point is 01:10:07 Okay. But we didn't do the whole shabang. We went close. But, oh, Lord. Okay, so the one I don't know. Can you actually ask me why I didn't, like, be with him or something? Because there was a picture of him on a red carpet. So I was close.
Starting point is 01:10:17 I was with someone else. I don't want to fuck up that. Okay. All right. But that's, that's, that kid's not a baby anymore. Who's this famous? Fuck buddy that, uh, I don't know. Uh, how famous are we talking here?
Starting point is 01:10:26 Oh my God. Uh, TV show famous. Like a regular show. Come on. A driving show. Canada's first driver host. That's a lot of clue. I could probably, I don't know if that show.
Starting point is 01:10:36 Okay, well, this is fascinating to me. Andrew Young husband. Let's do this. Whoa, shit. Okay, wow. Let me do this. Okay, this is going to get me a lot of trouble. We're winding down now because I got to go to the junction and walk of my oldest.
Starting point is 01:10:49 You can join us if you want. I think it would be like, I was thinking of this guy you were engaged to. I think anybody in the Ramey orbit, I think it's exciting to be in the Ramey orbit. Oh, yeah. He said to my mom, I was dancing around doing some dumb shit. And he said, yeah, I'll never be bored. You know? Like, you have a current boyfriend, right?
Starting point is 01:11:06 in this place we won't name because you didn't want to name it. Whatever, Aaron. Aaron, okay. Like, would you... He was with me during a lot of my drinking in the end, which was very fucking messy. Like, that guy deserves, you know, it wasn't perfect. We've had some very, you know, fights and shit. Well, never a dull moment, right?
Starting point is 01:11:24 Like, it's exciting. It's codependent trauma bonds is what it is. Okay. Put each other throughout. But it's good. It works. Like, we have time off, you know? And I'm deeply involved in my, like, Green of the Minks world.
Starting point is 01:11:36 shit and go dial into that, which also kind of bugs him too. But it's like, okay, when I sit down with you on the couch, I don't get to pick movies. So like, why am I here? I could be fucking burning the night oil over there talking to some people about my tits and shit. So on our way out here, I want you to just promote everything you have going on and give us any insight into what might be happening in the future. You've been in this game a long time. That's some impressive persistence. That's impressive.
Starting point is 01:12:04 Thank you. So yeah, I'm working on the book. I'm a hired, I'm a gun for hire for anybody who needs help writing. I was going to like do a LinkedIn, like go back to revamping it as Remy the Minx because I went to Lauren White, be squeaky clean. But I have a lot of thought leaders on my LinkedIn profile that be like, hey, look, I saw this girl on Instagram who does this content and talks about the content behind the scenes, magic.
Starting point is 01:12:27 And she's like an emotional brand. I got to look more deeply into it. But like what I'm doing for me, I can do for others. right like you're your how would people read you if somebody wanted to hire you how would they reach out to you what's the best way jump into my dms ramy the minks or email me ramy the minks at gmail com r a y m i t hem i nx and or facebook rami lorenne white um i'm also had 5000 people so i got to get in there if you if you want and then i'm also on instagram but you're on lincoln ramy the minks please follow me on instagram and like and comment and shit because i'm like oh
Starting point is 01:13:04 OCD. I'm just posting all my material. My phone is full, so I'm like six times a day. You've taken off and removed. You had the sweater on and off several times during this conversation. Like, you're, you, it's just, it's wild to be in your orbit. Can I bring my dad these beers? Is that a gift for me? Okay, yeah.
Starting point is 01:13:20 So I was, uh, being sensitive to your sobriety by not giving you the beer. But of course, Great Lakes Brewery would love your dad to enjoy those. I have fucking stocked these on the shelves of the liquor store. Okay. So you're not going to drink those on your way back. to wherever you're going. Okay. He's also piss worm, so.
Starting point is 01:13:37 No. You know what? I had an ideation of having a sip of my girlfriend's bush, a sneaky sip that Bush. Wait, wait a minute. Back the fuck up, Ramey. Is that a Freudian slip? No, Bush.
Starting point is 01:13:51 Brother, you should come home. It's a drink. Okay. Wobbly pop. Okay. And I thought no one would know. I got to get through this because that was really funny. You play back.
Starting point is 01:14:02 That'll be the clip I put on Instagram. Well, that's the grabber. Shannon, what's up? Shout out. And I thought no one would know. Her realtor showed up with a bottle of champagne. I get three glasses
Starting point is 01:14:13 or she gets to three glasses. But I have this. So I, before I poured it in, she's about to pour it for me. She's just, oh my God, I'm so sorry.
Starting point is 01:14:18 People forget, right? Right. What the fuck was the point of this? Because you're saying, you're giving this beer because I don't drink. Your dad is. I'll take it.
Starting point is 01:14:26 And also one last note from me and then one last question for me. But the last note is, Ramy, I know you're in your west or you're waiting. West. But I have an event. Yes.
Starting point is 01:14:38 10 days from today. That is Monday, September 28, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the GLB brew pub, which is at Jarvis and Queens Key. And I just found out, they're not opening that day. But they're going to open at 6 o'clock for TMLX 23. That's my event. So I'm no longer capped at a certain number of people, which means I can fill the place if I want. So this is a free event.
Starting point is 01:15:02 Well, I'm telling you, I'm shouting it. out, but I'm telling you, Ramey, you could bring everybody you know. Okay. What is the event? It is called TMLX23. It is the 23rd Toronto-Miked listener experience. It's at this brewery? It's at, not at the brewery.
Starting point is 01:15:18 The brewery is near here. It's at the GLB brew pub, which is Jarvis and Queens Key. You can't miss it. It's just north of Queens Key on Jarvis Street. I think they call it Lower Jarvis. You're going to have to give me your phone number after this. Okay, fine. But September 28, 6 to 9 p.m.
Starting point is 01:15:34 everybody listening, Emily Whedon, Ramey the Minks, Shannon. Make it a single mixer. Oh, Shannon's in the country. Make it a singles mixer, all you people. Yeah, I want to make events too. We'll talk about that. Okay, well, this is my event.
Starting point is 01:15:49 So it is a mixer for all. How many people do you think will come? Well, I don't know. My original, I had an RSVP list of 60, and then I opened it up to more people. So I would love to get, I don't know, 100 people there. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:15:59 What the hell do you do there? You'll get your first beverages on the house, and there's some food. And of course, they make delicious food. You could eat there. You could drink as much. You won't be drinking, but other people could drink more.
Starting point is 01:16:10 And we mingle, we network, we chat. All right. Anybody who wants to see me? It's my 23rd such event. But you should come, is what I'm saying.
Starting point is 01:16:19 Hey, guys, this is my event. You come see me too there. I will be there. It'll be like a thing. I will do a blogging jamboree. We put together a blog party, a red party like years ago.
Starting point is 01:16:28 Okay. People flew in from the States. I believe it. The blogging was a big thing. Now it's podcasting. Nerd. Would you ever start a podcast? I want to.
Starting point is 01:16:36 This was, I forgot to say this. So yeah, Ramey and Minks, like this brand already is like a shoe in. I love to talk. Got a voice and face for radio. So why not?
Starting point is 01:16:46 Like, I would love, I just need someone to help me do all the shit. Like, can I just get like a little mic and like plug it into my phone and like do like really. Yeah,
Starting point is 01:16:55 people do that. Airbones. Yeah. Yeah. The nice thing about podcasting is the, the, the barrier of entry. is very low.
Starting point is 01:17:05 But yeah, I got the audience and just like, yeah, that's the dream. So then I do the shoutouts too and get some free shit and sponsorship. And just to talk and get viewers. Like the goal of this fame thing for me is just money. It's like and also, yeah, I like attention. It's a kink. Will you be doing this in 10 more years? Probably.
Starting point is 01:17:23 So will you. I'm alive. Okay, because you've been doing it since you were a teenager and now you're 43 years old. What happens when you're 63 years old? You still doing this? Hopefully, I have. own property. And yeah, I'm doing like my artist's thing.
Starting point is 01:17:38 Like fucking in life's a breeze and I'm happy and I'm healthy and everyone's still alive. So when you were here last time, we're almost done here, Ramii. You've been amazing. I can't wait to take the photo by Toronto Tree. I'm almost made myself cry. I'm such an idiot. Well, you're not an idiot.
Starting point is 01:17:52 Well, you know. I like these kind of conversations because if we talk for five to seven minutes, you're going to do your Rami the main spiel and you're going to control like this with this. But if you sit down for like, I don't know. no, 75, 80 minutes, 85 minutes. We're having a real convo. We're getting to know the real Ramey, the Minks.
Starting point is 01:18:09 You're going to be vulnerable. There's going to be tears. It's going to be laughter. You're going to be sipping somebody's bush. It's amazing. Okay. Since your last visit here, 12 years ago, you mentioned you were on naked news.
Starting point is 01:18:20 Yeah. And Playboy. So naked news and Playboy. Energy drink. But still, half looked at my writing. I was a blogger for them. Were you naked in Playboy? I had a very classy photo shoot that we used for my
Starting point is 01:18:33 like bio stuff, you know, that rotated as the picture, like a really good shoot. But were your nipples exposed? No. I'm trying to find out if it was nudity. No. They like bought the franchise, right? So like you can, you can do that for your product. It was a bottle service era.
Starting point is 01:18:48 Like it was like a fucking. Like radioactive horse piss like Red Bull. But naked news. That's like Toronto thing, right? I did that too. I was 32. Okay. How long did you do naked news for?
Starting point is 01:18:59 I did a few segments. I did the world, the, the Toronto bike ride, naked bike ride. That was a fucking trip. Lots of dudes, lots of dicks. Right. And I got pictures with them. And like they're filming me and they're wearing like V for Vendetta masks and shit.
Starting point is 01:19:13 Like other dick out. And I'm like, I got my mic. I wore like a pink chain and like pink ray bands and pink running shoes and naked. My mom came too. And she actually was secretly on Coke. Oh my God. And you know what? Like I was bleeding in between periods then because I was like.
Starting point is 01:19:32 Like making to make, I wasn't working out. So to make myself look chiseled, like, suck it in so hard. And that does damage on the insides. I think also like the drugs and alcohol was all like just scraping the insides. But anyway, I decided to want to show me pussy anymore. So that was good. And it pays peanuts. But it was like, again, content and just, it was very validating 32 to do that.
Starting point is 01:19:57 One funny joke, this guy in this purple Calvin Klein's underwear was like circling me. And I was ready for my shot. the cameraman and I'm like okay Calvin Klein let's go everyone laugh like that's about like that's it for me is getting the laugh didn't talk about my comedy dreams well you can tell me now quickly about your comedy dreams I want to do stand up I want to refine a set like a five minute set and do that and then eventually my goal well my dream is beyond star night live which I know will not happen but like reach for the stars and on the way there you have other fucking so have you ever done standup before Yes, I have. Terrifying. But I've done it.
Starting point is 01:20:33 It went well. There are flubs and flops, but you have to get it over with because, you know, you'll get to the good part. Have you ever done a 90-minute set at the Elmo combo? No, but Elma combo does comedy? Well, you can book the Elmo and do anything you want. That's a fucking good idea. How much does that cost? Oh, that guy is money chaser. He's a money grubber. I'll hook you up with my benefactor who, who cover.
Starting point is 01:21:00 that invoice. But Ramey 12 years later. We got to do this again in 12 years, okay? What do you be? 55? Will I be alive? Stop! No, I'm getting younger. Is that how it works? Honestly, I'm glad you're eating healthier and I'm glad that you've recovered from your acute pancreatitis. Thanks for reminding. I do hope you ignore the stalker like it's your job to ignore the stalker. Thanks for bringing that up again. That's what I hope for you.
Starting point is 01:21:28 And continued success. I hope. people subscribe to your substack and enjoy all of, all of you. Ramiesaminks.substack.com. Ramiesaminks.com. Me. Are you still getting ink? Are you still getting tattoos? Yeah, I want to get one on my shin to cover up this scar tissue.
Starting point is 01:21:46 It's really gross. That's where I'm a bike pedal bit me. Yeah, scar tissue. That's a red out chili pepper song. I was in the same room as Chad Smith, the drummer for Red Out Chili Peppers. He wanted me. Did he? I got a story.
Starting point is 01:22:01 Do you want to tell quick I was in the room with him? He was in a supergroup with Sammy Hagar and me and Phil, my ex, went, and he was eye fucking me the whole time. And I was like, he was drumming, yep. And so I looked behind me. Sea Hags, of course it was me. I was the hottest I've ever looked.
Starting point is 01:22:16 I was 26. And so then I followed me as we walked out for a smoke because I brought Phil out because I was being, like, intoxicated by this attention. Because we were in the photo pit longer than the other first. three photos of media get press passes because we had VIP backstage all access the super
Starting point is 01:22:37 backstage right so we go back out he falls looking at me again I'm like what am I going to do with this Phil's taking pictures of Sammy Hagar and I'm like so we go in the cab and then I go you know what we could have gone backstage he's like why why not why I'm like do you know that I would have gone backstage you know like you won't see that I left him anyway after that so it's a horrible story to end it with and that brings us to the end of our 1,9774 show. I didn't do it. Go to TorontoMike.com for all your Toronto Mike needs.
Starting point is 01:23:12 And much love to all who made this possible. Again, that's Great Lakes Brewery. Ramey's dad is getting some fresh craft beer. Yeah, knacknud. Palma Pasta. I'm sending you home with a delicious frozen lasagna from Palma Pasta. Nick Aini's, his event is at the Old Mill on October 7th. Be there.
Starting point is 01:23:29 Recycle MyElectronics.c.c. And of course, Ridley Funeral Home, Ramey's got her measuring tape slash flashlight. Thank you. Not a flashlight. It's a flashlight. I can measure guys. Lots going on there. Cleaners. I was going to read this line.
Starting point is 01:23:44 I wonder what your thoughts are. No generative AI has been used in the recording of this podcast. Are you a generative AI user? Me? Yeah. Like, I use filters. Filters is different, I think. Okay, to be discussed.
Starting point is 01:23:58 It's okay. I Google. But no, I don't. I know. No. So see how dumb I sound? Do I look like I know that shit? I will see everybody on Monday when my special guest is Colin James right after Toast with Bob Willett and Rob Pruse.
