But we'll save that for a little bit later in the podcast. It's good. Did you find the studio okay today? I actually almost called you because I did the exact same thing that I did last week.

Is that true? The Sherway Gardens detour? I swear to God, I completely blanked out, missed Horner, and was at the East Mall. Did a ridiculous U-turn because I didn't want to be late. I refused to be late. That's hilarious that you did it twice. Yeah, I did the exact same thing. I just tuned out.

But I was on time. I need you to focus. And you were all late. same thing. I just tuned out, but I was on time. I need you to focus. We were waiting for turd pants to wrap up in the Humble and Fred studios. It was cool. They were streaming right out. What's that? Are you getting my, uh, cause I have a, I don't know. I have a throat. My voice left me on Saturday night and it's slowly coming back. It's catching. Is it that contagious? Alright, now this, Rosie,

That's Sundin. I miss him so much. That was the great Bob Cole calling an overtime winner by Matt Sundin, and that was against the Senators back in 2002. It's like another lifetime. It's just, I can't believe it. It just feels like that was so long ago.

And that's number 13 for Matt Sundin. That's a no-brainer. He was a fantastic Maple Leaf who I think was underappreciated because you had these great guys my age always talk about the great Leaf captains. Wendell Clark, number 17 from Kelvington, Saskatchewan, or Dougie Gilmore, number 93 from Kingston, Ontario.

And then you had this classy gentleman, number 13 from Stockholm, Sweden, Matt Sundin. I don't think we appreciated him as much because of his lack of Canadian I don't know. It was just all so sad. And then when he went to Vancouver Rosie, it broke my heart. You know why? I know. It broke a lot of hearts. He wouldn't waive his no trade because he didn't believe in joining another team

mid-season. He wouldn't waive that no trade, which would have been good for the Leafs. We could have got something for our future. What he ended up doing was he ended up joining the Canucks mid-season. And he retired a Canuck. It was just such a contradiction. It really hurt me. Especially because he was with us for so long.

And I think Torontonians loved him. He was great. He was amazing. It's so sad how it all ended. He recently became a father. I think he's very happy. But I feel he should have stayed. He should have retired and leave, right?

He should have stayed here. Absolutely. Of course. There's no Winter Classic. I was so looking forward to that. It's not going to happen. I don't think it's going to happen this year. Speaking of, they canceled the Winter Classic, like you mentioned.

But they're also, of course, already canceled the Hall of Fame game. Matt Sundin, since we're not quite done with Matt, this is the year he's entering the Hall of Fame. So it would be really cool. We would have had a ceremony for Matt at the ACC before the Hall of Fame game. No, not anymore. Gone. But are you managing without your hockey?

Yeah, and in a moment I'm going to try something new. I'm going to update everybody on something I've been focusing on with all this extra bandwidth I have that I don't have a hockey team to follow. and there was lots of deliberation going on on who people think are going to win, Obama or Romney. There's an election today, Rose? I had no idea. By the time they hear this, of course, we will know who won, maybe. But as we record on this Tuesday evening, we don't know. But let me be the first.

That was mike's first effect hey no i made i had to make that opening theme go and then i also did this matt sundin click clip so that's my third okay uh but that was my ground that was my uh announcement horn to tell everybody i'm calling it i'm the first to call it i'm calling it before cnn before msnbc and fox news i'm calling it. Barack Obama has been reelected as President of the United States of America. Great. Good job, Barack. Put your effect on again. No, I think once is quite enough, Rosie. Well, I don't know. I was on the Wall Street Journal. What do you mean you don't know?

I just called it. Is it too early? The Wall Street Journal, their paywall is down for Election Day, so you can read all the stuff on their site for free. And I was on there poking around, and they had some predictions by some of the people on their editorial board. And a lot of them, it was interesting, a lot of them thought that it would be Romney by a very, very small margin just because an incumbent, you know, they felt an incumbent

president should be able to hit more than 50% in the polls. I just thought that was interesting. From what I understand, the popular vote is very close, but the electoral college vote, it's I think what last thing I trusted was 75 percent chance of Obama winning. Totally. But regardless, it's been called. So by the time you hear this, you already know that Obama has back to back. I think it's what the T-shirts will say.

Back to back. Barack Obama. It's very exciting. Very interesting. Rose, I'm upset because I keep seeing these ads for this new pizza I think it's Pizza Hut and they have hot dogs in the crust I don't know if you've seen these ads I love hot dogs

that's so funny I was just talking to you my friend today we were talking about how good hot dogs and macaroni and cheese are okay both are wonderful I love hot dogs you love hot dogs what do you think of pizza. Okay, both are wonderful. I love hot dogs. You love hot dogs. What do you think of pizza? I love pizza. I love pizza too. I get a pizza every day. And I get hot dogs every day if I weren't such a

fit specimen. But here's my problem, Rose. Hot dogs are great, but they're awful for you. And pizza's great, but it's awful for you. Maybe a little less so, but still not too good. The good pizza's pretty bad for you, I think. My question is, it's so unnecessary.

Why are we combining these two wonderfully bad-for-you foods when you don't need more than one? Keep them two separate meals. No, it's more than unnecessary. It's disgusting. It's egregious. But it's a gimmick, and everyone's totally going to buy it because that's what Pizza Hut does with their stuffed crust, their cheese stuffed in, which is disgusting.

I think they even had bacon in the crust or maybe they didn't. Maybe I just made that up. Maybe I want that. The Pizza Hut, if you're listening, put your bacon in the crust. And send Rosie a free pizza bite next Tuesday. But I think I'm disgusting. Would you try it? Because I don't even want to try it.

first of all, it's a free country. She's welcome to, I get three, I get 300 gigabytes. Okay. She's, she's more than welcome to spend an extra five bucks a month and get a

reasonable cap. But the two gigs is hilarious because my son knows at 10 years old, he knows when he's over there, grandma's got two gigs i can't go crazy with youtube because i'll use up all the gigs like everything she's always about the gigabytes the gig by i go mom once i go mom if my own mom doesn't listen to my podcast like what's the point because my brother played the first two episodes and she hadn't heard any since and we were on like episode 12 and then she's like mike my gigabytes and i'm like this

probably uses up a lot of no it's No, it's like a mega minute. But she doesn't have that many. No. And I'm like, okay, mom, let me tell you this way. Two gigabytes is like 2,000 megabytes. My podcast might be 30 megabytes. So I give her like some frame of reference or whatever. She's like, oh, okay.

I thought it might be more. So I think she's caught up a bit. But she's so afraid to do anything but read emails and do Facebook because of her two gigabytes. How does email count? Everything does. Every byte that comes up and down counts. Every downloaded byte. You can download.

I like how you had to convince your mom to get more gigabytes to listen to your podcast. Well, no, she didn't. I can't get her to get more gigabytes. My phone, my shitty phone has six gig cap on it. Like I got three times as much throughput on my my smartphone row has ever heard of a smartphone i'm not gonna be too hard on your mom because i know how it feels when you have perhaps technology that's less smart than everyone else is to have to have them sort of make make make fun of you it's not it's not very nice no it's not all week i'm gonna my friends

Regardless, that was just an excuse to use my soundboard. I was going to say, I think Mike is really just trying to show us how we can use the special effects. That doesn't sound like early Green Day. That is early Weezer. Okay. And you mentioned earlier, without the Leafs, what am I doing with my time? Well, this brings me to a quick little segment I'd like to introduce, Rosie. I'm excited.

They're playing basketball. We love that basketball. They're playing basketball. So this here is a little Curtis blow to introduce the fact that I watched a 2.5 of the three Raptor games that have been played so far this season. And first game, which was the day a trick or treating day, Halloween,

I guess that's what they call that, right? Halloween, the trick or treating day. So I missed the first half, but we coughed up, we coughed it up in the fourth quarter. Ridiculous cough up.

Then I watched the game in Brooklyn, the first ever game in Brooklyn. And I don't know if you caught it, but they have a horrible mascot, this Brooklyn Knight. He's not cuddly or soft or plushy. The kids like Carlton the Bear so much. They love Duke the Dog at the Marley games. And they love the Raptor. And even Jason from Jason.

Not the Halloween Jason. Why is it that when you say Jason, that's exactly what I think of? Because I dress as him every Halloween. I dress as Jason. His mask was scary. You would have been scared if I saw you in the dark. Oh, that was the idea. Thank you.

And the kids in the neighborhood are always like, you were that last year. Like, I'm going to be this every year until I die. So get used to it. But regardless, okay, so we lost that game against Brooklyn. Then we had a pretty good win. So I just want to say I really like what I've seen from Kyle Lowry so far, the new point guard. Excellent.

Three games is not a very good sample size, but he's been fantastic. I still don't like Andrea Bargnani. I never liked him. No? I know he's Italian. I like him because he's so tall and crazy. And he's Italian and handsome. He's cute.

Do real Italians eat Prego pasta sauce? No, right? Like, that's false advertising. Everybody has their moments. Everyone has their moments when you haven't made your sauce from scratch. The desperate moment you grab the ragu off the shell. You open the ragu, yeah. I don't like how he plays.

I think we keep thinking he'll morph into Dirk Nowitzki at some point and I'm going to say it's not going to happen. Well, I think it is true that he certainly didn't, I think, live up to the... He's 27 now. I think he is what he is now.

He's 27. Yeah, no. But I do like him. But I think you're right. He drives me crazy. I would like to... He was the first overall pick, you know,

just to remind you. And Landry Fields, who we made an offer from the Knicks. We took him. I think they were happy to get rid of him. So far, I'm disappointed. I know it's early, but I want him to be successful because Landry Fields and I share the same birthday.

And I don't think that means much to anybody, but it means a lot to me. So I hope he bounces back. So basketball, it's filling the void. Yeah, that's filling the void. I didn't watch too much last year, but I find I have that. Even with the kids we watched it on uh sunday night we watched it and it's like a family thing because there's no hockey night in canada so yeah it's a it's a

big gap to fill did you notice rosie to your left there's a bearded gentleman i did he's awesome that's where mike wickson used to sit Mike Wixon, I gave him a pink slip. He was a shoot out the door. You know, he acts like he owns the place, so it's time to get rid of him. But Bish, Bish is going to help man the board here so I don't mess it up for Humble and Fred. It's kind of a hip hop with kind of an electric-y edge. And we have our second single is called Douchebags. There's a bit of like a tongue-in-cheek sense of humor to a lot of the songs. That's my new theme song. Yeah exactly all your fans will really love it. There was a conversation going on my side about the term douchebag. The reason I do the uppercase, lowercase like that is that when I was really young, I put up my first poster at my school and I overheard somebody asking who 3Vibe was.

What's your favorite kind of music? Well, hip-hop is kind of my bread and butter, what I've been doing for years. But what I listen to when I'm not making music and I'm just chilling with my lady or my friends, I listen to a lot of soul music. And so as I get older making music, my music, I find, kind of heading in that direction. So I sing a little bit more than I used to, do some of that kind of thing. That is cool.

And do you listen to any rock at all? I do listen to rock. Yeah, I mean, I grew up in Barrie. My dad is a classic rock guy and listened to I grew up in Barrie. My dad is a classic rock guy. I listen to Rock 95 up in Barrie every day. I grew up on classic rock music as well. I listen to a little bit of everything. I love reggae music

and a little electronic as well. I'm a music guy. I was going to say, you must know a little classic rock because you mentioned Blunts and Roses. Just for the listening audience, you and I know each other because we have a mutual friend uh mike kick never heard of him yeah mike kick who uh he i've known him forever uh he's on my ball team i think he got a shout out in one of the earlier episodes so he doesn't get another

one today he's had it filled his quota i'll give you a shout out to my kick now my quote is full too yeah now we're good now he's got it so um he turned me on he's like you got to download this blunts and roses and i this is way before you did any theme song for me or whatever i downloaded it i listened to it while i was working it made its way onto my ipod i actually really liked blunts and roses because i like that fusion of like that classic rock, rap, hip hop fusion. So for Rosie, who probably hasn't heard of Blunts and Roses, it's not Guns and Roses, Rosie, it's Blunts and Roses. So here's a little taste.

Yeah, it's great. I'm watching Rosie listen. Good. It's really good. Is this going on your blank CDs? So I would fill a whole CD just with this. There's lots. Sometimes I do that. I'll put the song over the mic.

I'll put it on the mic. So that, I'm going to play in the background a bit here. That's, yeah, just an example. But the whole album's full of this kind of stuff. The one I really like, I was a big Guns N' Roses fan. And their cover of Dylan's Knockin' on Heaven's Door is like one of my favorite covers of all time. And you do a nice little... Yeah, what did you...

Is that your favorite track from the Guns N' Roses album? I really like that Mama Told Me there. And I really like that Mama Told Me there. I really like Let Me... It's funny because when I did the album, Mama Told Me was not one of my favorites. But I mean, obviously I enjoyed it. You know what it is? I like Simple Man. It depends how much I like the source material.

Yeah, that's true. But I would say that it's one of the tracks where I get the most feedback from people being like, Oh, I listen to that all the time. I know me and my girl broke up and I listened to that song a lot. Is that the first cut on the album? Is that the first cut? I don't even remember if I'm being 100% honest. But yeah, it seems to have resonated with people, so that's cool.

Yeah, it's at some point. You did a good job picking two songs where I lead the track off. Well, you know, that voice, everybody knows it. I think that's why I like it, because I like your voice. What up, Mike?

What up, Mike? It's funny, because I don't actually talk with as much of a rasp as when I rap. But when I was really young, my favorite rappers were people like Busta Rhymes. And you heard their voice for five seconds. You instantly knew who it was on the record. And I always wanted that. So if you heard even five seconds on my songs, you would know instantly who it was.

It's like a trademark. Yeah. Very cool. If you stay sick, you could have a trademark as well. You know what? I think I'm getting there. What up, Mike? Does your voice, when you rap, does your voice consciously change?

How does it work? I've always wondered that. The way I rap, I think of it the way somebody sings. So when you sing, you have a cadence to your voice. You know how it sounds the best. So as soon as I go into my kind of rap mode, I kind of settle into that lower tone. And it just, yeah, I mean, I've been doing it for about 15 years now. So I just automatically slide into it.

Yeah, it's very cool. Tell me about the video directing. So you direct a lot of videos now. Yeah, that's my new thing. I mean, as everybody knows, there's not a lot of money in Canadian music. So, you know, even though I've been really lucky and blessed with some things, it's a struggle. What I got into was directing music videos for myself because I couldn't afford to hire the video production companies that existed 10 years ago. They wanted $5,000 to come out and shoot a video.

I got into doing it myself. More recently, as I've become more competent, I've been shooting some videos for some other people. I'm really excited. I've got a video coming out for some guys they're called perfect strangers they're like canadian hip-hop i used to watch that show the group is based on that show but i just directed a video for these rappers no i know i know this show i'm kidding but yeah so i'm i'm finally working with from a video side of things working with some people that i grew up listening to their music. So it's kind of cool for them to trust their image in my hands.

Absolutely. Yeah, it's real cool. Yeah, very cool. You're working with any artists I've heard of? I'm very in tune with the underground Toronto hip-hop scene. From a video perspective, I mean, it's a lot of independent artists. Just make up names. I won't know if they're real or not.

So with realistic expectations, for me it's all about reaching as many people as possible so you know i've got a day job i work in marketing and i have a lot of fun at that so um you know i would love to release as much music as possible and just have people

digging it like that's what it's all about for me so well i love i mean we're rooting for you obviously i need you to become famous so my opening theme has some more weight to it. I can say, you know, Ill Vibe recorded this just before he broke. And I will deny. Yeah. I will deny. That was a different Mike I was talking about in that song. That's funny. Anyways, you were fantastic.

I just think your stuff is great. And I almost think I'd pay for it. That's how good it is. Almost, yeah. Well, that's huge coming from Mike because he doesn't... He's a dirty thief. That's his reputation. Well, I don't know.
