we're going to talk about the wedding that we enjoyed eight days ago. There's no one better to chat about it with than you. I guess so. Maybe Rosie would give her positive perspective on it. She's cheerful and I think she really enjoyed it. You know what? I actually purposely have not talked to Rosie about this wedding because I'm trying to do it all live for the first time during Toronto Mic'd. So you and I are going to record a very quick and dirty episode 43 right now. And then episode 44 will be of Rosie and we'll get her feedback, her perspective on the wedding as a guest. Okay, sounds good.

So babe, how does it feel to be a newlywed? It feels relaxing because the past few months, all I've been thinking about is this wedding and planning for it. So on Sunday, it was the first time I slept in in a long time. It was actually, it was Father's Day, so we couldn't sleep in too much. Plus, we had to go back to the venue and pick up some stuff. Well, hold on. Let's step back a bit here. Let me walk you through this. So is it fair to say that since I proposed so romantically at the top of the Eiffel Tower back in October that you've been planning for that June 15th wedding? I have to admit, I got the big stuff done

right away in October. And then I left it for a few months and I did a lot of last minute things. and then I left it for a few months and I did a lot of last minute things. I guess that's typical, but I found the last month the most stressful part of it. And we can now reveal, okay, so you booked the Arta Gallery in the Distillery District. Yes, and I'm so happy with that venue selection. We looked at quite a few that looked similar. We were looking for the old building or the art gallery look. The Burroughs and NSC Gallery were the other finalists,

but we went with the Art Gallery and the Distillery District. And no regrets. No regrets. I loved it. And the staff there, I loved. They were pleasant to work with and we had good weather, so it was a great venue to walk around.

I'll say, I know I'm super biased. You know, I got to marry the greatest girl ever, but I thought it was a super cool venue. And all of my friends, almost all my friends have come up to me just to say like, what a cool venue this is. Like, I need to host something here or have some kind of a ceremony here because it was a wicked cool venue. I agree.

And we, okay, so this all happened on June 15th. And let's just walk, can we just walk through it? Sure. Is that cool? Okay, so on Friday night, so normally you live with me, but on the Friday night before this wedding, you stayed at your sister's essentially, where your parents were. Yes. In Mississauga.

Yes. So tell me what happened on Friday night. Friday night, we went out for dinner with my cousins and my aunt from Edmonton and my brother and his fiance, who are also from Edmonton and my brother and his fiancee who are also from Edmonton. And then that night, I actually finished up my speech and my vows and then did some last minute notes for the servers and the coordinator at the venue. So I was sending emails out at 1 a.m. I didn't get an early night's sleep. And you woke up

bright-eyed and bushy-tailed on Saturday. Oh, you know what? What happened Friday night? Friday night, I had really bad allergies, so I didn't get any sleep. I had really bad allergies, so I woke up early and my nose was all stuffed and I was a bit... Sounds like an amazing

day. But, yeah, that quickly went away because i got excited for the wedding so you woke up on saturday right allergies yeah it's early and you knew this was the big day what happens next i needed my coffee so my brother went for a coffee run i appreciated that a lot because i didn't get much sleep so was it starbucks it was starbucks and was it there was it a red eye or just a regular oh you know what i haven't had a red eye in a long time it was just a regular coffee okay um and then i got my hair done and michelle's hair done okay well hold on so we haven't got michelle there yet i don't know how much detail you okay well hold on michelle i'm trying to i'm thinking this is like uh a one-off about the wedding

and then in 50 years, you can listen back to this episode. Okay, so I will talk like, like you're an archivist. I'm talking to myself in 50 years. Pretend like people care about this. Yeah, you're talking to yourself in 50 years. So I wake up with James and Michelle

and then I drive Michelle in the Ford Edge that I borrowed from Ford Canada for this event. I drive Michelle to your place because Michelle is going to get her hair done. Right. So Michelle came earlier than I asked for, which was good. So I took her to the hairdresser, who was a couple doors down from me. So I walked her over and I showed the hairdresser what style to do on Michelle. And I left her there because my appointment was somewhere else. So I left her and I got my hair done.

And meanwhile, James and I are just sort of chilling back here at home. And we are, you know, we don't want to get ready too early, but we have to put our tuxedos on. So we're sort of like showering and scrubbing ourselves and sort of prepping ourselves to put on our tuxedos on. So we're sort of like showering and scrubbing ourselves and sort of prepping ourselves to put on our tuxedos and get our butts to the distillery district. And meanwhile, we have already delivered everything.

So we've already gone to the LCBO, you and I, and bought like $1,000 worth of booze or whatever. Right, that was the Friday, the day before. Right, and we had already bought the beer and we had already delivered all these things that will bore people like tablecloths and all those kind of like candles and all these kind of like things like that. Right.

Right. Okay. We should tell everybody this was basically we planted ourselves and everything was do it yourself. Yeah. So we rented the space and then we built it ourselves and everything was do-it-yourself. Yeah, so we rented the space and then we built it ourselves. Right. And we were the wedding planners. And by we, I mean you. That's true.

So every detail from printing the tags, the name things, and to putting together the wedding favors and the flowers and the centerpieces and everything and renting all that stuff you had to rent, like the dishes and the cups and the centerpieces and everything and renting all that stuff. You had to rent like the dishes and the cups and the silverware and everything you coordinated. Right. Amazing. And then you got a DJ. And I got some help.

Yeah. Okay. So now we're on, it's now Saturday. You and Michelle are getting your hair done and me and James are sort of scrubbing ourselves. And so we got some music going and we're just kind of having fun here. are sort of scrubbing ourselves and so we got some music going and we're just kind of having fun here at some point you and michelle have to start putting on your dresses in mississauga while james and i start putting on our tuxedos um so i came home from the hairdresser and michelle was already done so she was there i walk into the house and there there were uh visitors from

ottawa i had my cousins come over my mom invited them for lunch so they were there already so So there were visitors from Ottawa. I had my cousins come over. My mom invited them for lunch. So they were there already. So Michelle was playing with my little cousin. So the house was pretty much pretty busy at that point. And then Vanessa. My sister-in-law. My new sister-in-law.

Came over shortly after and she did my makeup, and then more people came for lunch. Who are these more people? My cousin from Gatineau, she came. Oh, yes, yes, yes. And her family? And her family. And then my uncle, the photographer, came, and he was taking pictures of Vanessa putting on makeup. And then my cousin from Edmonton and Bev and their mother came.

Your cousin from Edmonton, your cousin from Etobicoke. And my aunt from Edmonton came. Okay. This is a big time happening. He's also a photographer, so he's taking pictures. And my cousin Bev had a new video camera so she was recording everything.

So it was a full, a packed house. And meanwhile you've got to get a dress on and get yourself pretty. I mean you're always pretty but you have to get yourself all dolled up or whatever. So you have your hair done and you got your makeup. Vanessa did your makeup and now you've got to get that dress on. I had to eat something because I didn't want to faint. So I ate after I had got my makeup done.

Okay. And then I got, I got Michelle dressed. Nice. And then I got myself dressed. Okay. So meanwhile, we go back to Etobicoke and me and James are, uh, starting to get ready. So I helped him, you know, there's like different layers. We had like an undershirt and then we had the dress shirt and then we had the pants and then there, oh yeah, there's underwear and socks as well. And there's like cuff links for the shirt and there's like these special button things for the shirt. And then we have like a vest and then I had a bow tie to put on him and I had to put one

on myself and then we sort of have a jacket. So there's lots of layers and we're getting ourselves dolled up. And next thing you know, we're handsome. So we're handsome now and and we're getting ourselves dolled up. And next thing you know, we're handsome. So we're handsome now. And now we're handsome. And I think I was a little ahead. I'm like, James wanted to play League of Legends or whatever it's called on the computer. And I'm like, let's just go to the distillery district and hang out there.

He wanted to play a game. Yeah, because he thought we were too early and he was right. But I felt like I'd rather go to the distillery district on a beautiful saturday because the weather was amazing i would rather hang out there and walk around there yeah all dolled up or whatever then like sit at home and just wait so we got in that fort edge and we uh we went to the distillery district and what time did you get there like two o'clock maybe before that was at four right so we, I had to talk to the coffee people and pay them at Balzac's. And then we walked around and then eventually some people started showing up like your Aunt Ruby and people like that. And I had people to talk to.

And also I wanted to talk to the DJ, make sure she was cool and she was fine. And yeah, eventually the officiant, we should point out this officiant was, well, maybe we'll get there in this natural storytelling. But now I'm there and people are starting to arrive around three-ish. And you kind of have to hide out until four. Is that right? Right.

I wanted to get there a little bit early because I wanted to get some first look photos done with you. Oh, right. Yeah. And I guess you forgot that. Me? You forgot that. I didn't remember this because I still don't remember you telling me.

Yeah. Well, you forgot that. So I ran into you in the center of the distillery district. And Uncle Alex, the photographer, knew that this was planned. But I was going to surprise you and he was going to capture some photos. And then we took some photos. And then I remember you telling me I wasn't that you weren't supposed to see me. You told me you told me that you didn't want me.

I mean, you've had this dress. How did you get your dress? Do you want to reveal that or do you want to save that? I'll save it. OK, so you told me that I wasn't supposed to see this dress until you came down the aisle. No, until the wedding day. I actually thought you meant like in the movies and stuff. They don't see the dress until they walk in the aisle.

That's why I mentioned the first look photos, but I guess you forgot. I don't even know what first look means. I don't know what this means. But okay, so the photos are fine. I saw you in the dress and you looked beautiful. That was before the ceremony. It was pretty early because I got there early. Three-ish.

So we took a few photos and then you went back to the ceremony the venue and then i didn't know what to do i was hanging around and so i was hanging around around the corner of the venue i think it was a bad spot because a lot of the guests were walking by yeah i would hear like like humble and fred and friends would come by and say, I saw Monica hiding down the lane, the distillery lane. So then I was with Michelle and Sherry, my sister, the maid of honor. We went to the store next to it, which was a furniture store or like a bedding store. So we hung out there.

So it looks like you're shopping for beds in your wedding gown. Yeah, and we were talking to the guy and he was really nice. He said he could offer us a private room if we need. That is nice. Yeah. So what's the name of this place? Haston's? Haston's.

Haston's. That's where we'll buy our next bed. And yeah, we hung out there until ceremony time. Okay. So ceremony was like four-ish. Yeah. And it was a full house. I can say that everybody, it looked great, the venue.

And the officiant, I thought, was fantastic. She was great. I loved her. And her name's Renette. She's really nice. And she just handled it all perfectly. She had the right balance between the classy ceremony part and the fun part. I thought she hit the

balance perfectly yeah and the whole planning process with her was amazing everything's done online and she gives you a template and you could slot things in and take things out and move what does she cost am i allowed to ask that i think it was 300 bucks or something around there okay so if anybody wants to get married and needs a good officiant who can marry you legally in canada for like 300 bucks let me know and i'll hook you up with renee she's great she's south african so she had a cool accent yep sounded like charlize so uh the ceremony itself so um we knew what to expect we planned this this thing. Little Nate, my nephew, he comes down first with the rings on a pillow.

The real rings. I would have liked to see that. Yeah, we don't have any video footage of this, but I saw it. I had the best view, and he did a good job. And we should point out that some people use fake rings, but Nate had the real rings tied to that pillow.

Yeah, I wasn't too sure if people use fake or real, and I didn't know where to find fake rings. Forget fake rings. Use real. What's he going to do? Put it down the drain? I don't know. So he gets the rings to James. I don't know if he gets them to maybe his dad, and his dad unties them and gives them to James or something. But my son James was my best man, so now he has the rings in his pocket or in his hand or something. Meanwhile, my daughter Michelle comes down the aisle. She looked beautiful

and she is the flower girl and she comes down and does a great job. I guess she had flowers. Yes. I don't know the role of flower girl, but she was holding flowers. She typically, I don't know how popular this is today, but typically flower girls have a basket of flower petals and they drop the petals as they walk. We didn't do that. But I'm not, that's for young girls and Michelle was a bit older, so. Yeah. So she comes up down the aisle and she looks beautiful. Yeah.

Then your sister, the maid of honor, comes down the aisle, and she takes her seat. And then you and your parents, I'm trying to say your mom and dad walk you down the aisle. Right. You don't remember? I kind of remember, but I remember your dad put your hand in mine, but your mom was no longer there. No, she was still there. Oh, okay. She was on my left side.

Because the officiant told me to shake your dad's hand, and then your dad would put your hand in mine and i i just did what i was told okay so i shook your dad's hand and then he put your hand in mine and then your dad and mom took a seat and now you and i are at the uh front of this and have wait what did you think when you saw me walking down the aisle yeah yeah i was disappointed you didn't cry like i didn't see you cry either babe i had the baseball game on in my walkman and i was listening and we were we were in the middle of a wind streak so but i did not cry but i uh felt emotional and you looked beautiful and i was just looking at the crowd of all my friends and family i just felt very warm like everybody was there to support us and this was a big moment i did feel very warm i very warm. I was happy. I wasn't nervous. I thought, a lot of people tell me there's nerves.

I wasn't nervous either. I didn't feel any nerves at all. I had one moment of nerves when the song started playing, but then after that, it was all good. Good point. So what song was playing when Nate came out? Just Breathe, Pearl Jam. So this is the procession song, Just Breathe by Pearl Jam. Awesome tune.

And then when did we change it up? When you came down, what song was playing? It was called Alleluia. Vitamin String Quartet covered it. I actually asked for Alleluia by Jeff Buckley. So you didn't want the Vitamin String Quartet version of Alleluia? No, no, I did. Because this song is a Leonard Cohen song.

It's not a Jeff Buckley song. Yeah, Leonard Cohen song that Jeff Buckley covered. Okay, well, that song, regardless of who sings it, Vitamin String, I wanted Vitamin String Quartet to cover that version. But Hallelujah by Paramore is what she played. And that's a completely different song. It's a completely different song.

It wasn't a cover of the Jeff Buckley or Leonard Cohen Hallelujah. You got the wrong Hallelujah. song. It's a completely different song. It sounded appropriate, but it wasn't recognizable to me. It was appropriate, but whatever.

It sounded nice. So that's funny, though, that your song was Butcher. I was wondering what was playing, and I thought maybe I'm just not thinking right. And that's actually the song. It was the wrong song. I found it afterwards. And then, okay. And then now we're up there and we're doing, I guess there's stuff being said and there's

a reading by your niece. What is she? My cousin. Cousin's daughter. No, she's my cousin. She's your cousin. And she's like seven. She's seven.

She only seven? Yeah. Well, she turned eight last week. Okay. She's eight. And she does a reading and then, okay, then there's vows. So, babe, my question for you now is, did you like my vows? I loved your vows.

I thought it was way better than mine. I put it on my YouTube channel if someone wants to hear it. Do you want to play it now or no? No, we'll game maybe. No, because this might be really long, this episode. Okay. So basically my vows are said, uh, together we saw Paris in public enemy. That's how it started.

And there's my vows. And then you did your vows, which I really enjoyed. They were amazing. And then there's some stuff that happens. And next thing you know it, I guess they're saying like, will our parents support us? And my mom says, I will. And your parents say, I think you're out of order. Okay.

You tell me the story. I think that the parents part is first and then the vows and then the ring exchange. So my son, James, my best man gives the rings to Renette, who then has us say stuff as I put the ring on your finger and you put the ring on my finger. Right. Okay. And then the signing. And then, okay. Okay, okay.

What song plays when we go to sign that book? Sea of Love by Cat Power. Sea of Love by Cat Power. Beautiful cover. And now we're signing the book and you have to have a couple of witnesses, which was your sister and my mom. Yes. And then at what point are we married now after we sign or whatever?

Or do we kiss or whatever? What happens then? We go back and then we do the kiss. Okay, we have our first kiss. She announces us as husband and wife. Okay, and now we're married. That's a legal marriage now. Awesome.

And then what song plays? Well, I don't think the kiss seals are married. No, I know. It's probably like signing of the document or something. Maybe, yeah, probably. Okay. And then what song plays? The Beatles?

The Beatles, I Want to Hold Your Hand. Ah, it's a great song. And then we kind of walk out. Right. Because now they need to set up the venue for the dining. And that requires like setting up all the tables and then dressing them up. Yeah. And we have like 90 minutes to kill. So everybody heads out to the distillery district to enjoy the distillery district. And you and I are essentially told to pose for like a million photographs yeah okay it

was fun it was a lot of fun so we get a lot of pictures taken over the next 90 minutes and then they let us back in this room and we got there's an open bar for cocktails the tables are ready for the dinner and everyone's having a good time chatting and we're mingling and everyone we care about is in that freaking room. Right. And okay, so basically food gets stuck temporarily on the gardener. On the gardener. So it was delayed about half an hour. And this is food from Palma Pasta.

And my good friend, Anthony, some people know him as Il Duce, was actually at the wedding as a guest. And I only had one company I wanted to go to to cater this wedding. I didn't even negotiate rates or anything. I actually said to Anthony that you are one of one option and we want our food from your company. It's amazing Italian food. And you can invoice us whatever you want. And please join us as a guest and eat your own food.

Right. Okay. And we have, that all worked out great, right? The lasagna was fantastic. We got bread from the, fresh bread from the bakery across the street. Yeah, there's a lot of bread, but we'll get to that at the end of the night. And then at some point the speeches start, right? Right.

Okay. So the first one to speak is your sister. No, my dad. Your dad speaks first and he says something sweet to you. Yeah. And then your sister. Right. Okay.

And your sister has this prepared speech and she tells us she's tipsy and then she tells us her little speech. Yeah. And then my daughter speaks next. No, Ryan, my brother. Right. Okay. Then my brother has a speech

and I didn't know what was coming next. This was a great speech by my beautiful brother, Ryan, and it took lots of twists and turns. It was funny watching you listen to his speech because you were scared. I just didn't know what was coming next. He was sort of like telling lots of tales. And there was a lot of love.

And I told Ryan it was perfect because it was. Then my daughter spoke. Right. And she had that hilarious opening line where she said, Give me a break. I'm only eight. So my speech won't be as long as Uncle Ryan's and Sherry's. Yeah, that was funny.

And then she did her speech. It was very short but sweet. Very sweet. Meanwhile, we're eating a meal. I enjoyed my veal. I enjoyed my lasagna. I enjoyed everything. You had your Heinekens.

I had my wine. Everybody was enjoying. There was an open bar. Your uncle boy was very impressed with the open bar he enjoyed that and my buddy humble seemed to be taking down some shots and oh was he well he had a designated driver his daughters were gonna pick him up yeah fred told me that he was i selected some good wine for that table and that table was kind of a funny table because that was Humble and Fred and their significant others. And also Il Duce and Elvis, co-host of your blog Sucks, and Rosie, the regular co-host of this podcast. They're all Italian, so I chose a good Italian wine for them.

That's right. And then another table, just since we're talking tables quickly, there was a Raging Storm table, although my buddy Dom was at it because MoFo couldn't make the dinner. He came later. So that was basically my ball team. norm table although my buddy dom was at it because mofo couldn't make the dinner he came later so that was basically my ball team then i had a table and that we kind of people we worked with and uh former colleagues and and good friends and then there was a table kind of uh others like my buddy tim was at and then uh my cousin mark and my cousin jennifer and their significant others

and then there was a table with your friends like Juan and Irene and your sister and Cher. Am I doing a good job? Sister and Cher is one person. Oh yeah. Your cousin Bev and Cher. Yeah. That's another table.

And then you had a couple, you had a lot of family there. So there was like three tables. I had two, two tables of aunts and cousins and then one table of kids. Yeah. There's a kid's table and then my my parents and my aunts and uncles at another table and i liked how we were all kind of close together so you and i had a little table beside my mom's table with my brothers and my aunt maura and james yeah they were at that table um nicole thought it was cute because she thought it was a the paris thing that

we were trying to pull off. Nice. And I guess, because in Paris, I guess in the cafes it's just those small tables. Well,

did you tell her that it was by design? Okay. Now, whose speech are we at? Okay, so now we're done the speeches.

The scheduled speeches are done. No, we, us. It was us. Oh my God. How could I forget us?

Okay, so I made a speech. Did you enjoy my speech? I did. So you enjoy my speech i did so you loved my speech yeah and you felt the love through my speech yeah and you were happy with my speech yeah it was funny good and then you spoke eloquently as usual and i loved it and i'm going to play a clip from the very end of your speech in which we sing a duet. Are you ready for me to play this? Yes. I look forward to every day and every night with you as your wife. Hey now!

You constantly keep me learning and you always make me laugh with your silly I love you babe, I don't see what anyone else sees in anyone else but you. You're my full time lover lover and a full-time friend You're mean on your head, but you're never the latest trend I don't see what anyone can see in anyone else I kiss you on the brain during league games I kiss you all starry-eyed like Reimers skating from side to side I don't see what anyone can see in anyone else but you I'm so glad that I've met a lot of people

You sure are a great four to marry people I don't see what anyone can see in anyone else but... My love for you is completely out of whack. The mayor of this city really loves his crack. I don't see what anyone can see in anyone else but... I will find your love in a car with your chewing gum and chocolate bars. I don't see what anyone can see in anyone else. But we are both cool with our difference in age.

You want more kids? I need to hit the batting cage. I don't see what anyone can see. Anyone else? But you. That was so fun. It was a bit painful on the ears, but it was so fun. We should have bit painful on the ears, but it was so fun. We should have apologized in advance for the...

Are we both tone deaf? No, I think you're a really good singer. I am mediocre and you're maybe a titch below mediocrity. A titch is being nice. Now, you wanted to do that song. I did. We each wrote our own verses and I thought it was a bad idea. Remember we talked about it

months ago and you were all for it and then we didn't talk about it again and I brought it up again maybe a week before the wedding. Less I think but you brought it up again and I thought it was too late to do this song. Yeah. I didn't think people would care to hear it and I was against it. Yeah.

And you were like babe it'll be fun. People will like it and then I guess at some point I'm like it it's your day, whatever you want, which I said a lot of times during this preparation. And then I'm like, okay, so I wrote my verses and you wrote your verses. You wrote your verses in maybe five minutes and you wrote a few verses. We had to cut it down. Do we keep the right verses? I think so.

I really liked the last verse that you wrote. It was funny. Well, babe, that was fun. And that's on my YouTube channel too. And then all the speeches, all the scheduled speeches were finished. And then we had a unscheduled impromptu speech by my buddy, humble Howard Glassman. I think. Right. And he was under the influence. I think... Right, and he was under the influence. He had a few, and he was feeling good, and he wanted to express some thoughts.

And I appreciate the thoughts he expressed, and I thought it was a very loving speech. But maybe in his tipsiness, he maybe made a couple of tactical errors, but I can empathize with that. I think he meant well, but it didn't come across that way. So have you heard,

I mean, I did actually, I appeared on the Humble and Fred podcast to discuss this very topic. It's not so bad, right? This is not causing like an international incident here. Like there's no UN discussion about this. No.

Like the Philippines and Canada aren't flirting with war or anything. Maybe if we had a video or audio of it and then replayed it and more people heard it, they would maybe be upset, but we can't find any evidence of it. So we're going by memory. But a lot of people seem to remember it the same way I did. Okay, maybe we'll move on from humble. Just love you, humble, and I know you meant well,

but maybe speaking while intoxicated can be dangerous. Right. That's why I only had two Heinekens before my speech. That's why I stuck to the script. Thank you. Good. And then now the speeches are over, and what is next? The dances?

Right, the dances. So the first dance is you and me right right and that is the tragically hip long time running right and that was a beautiful song and i really enjoyed dancing to that with you yeah that was fun and then you and your dad did a waltz right and you would rehearse this waltz with him right so you and roy are dancing our waltzing to the uh neil young classic only love can break your heart right and that's a beautiful tune too can con just like the our waltzing to the Neil Young classic Only Love Can Break Your Heart. Right. And that's a beautiful tune too. CanCon, just like the Tragically Hip.

And we're not done with CanCon because my mom and I are going to dance to Blue Rodeo's Try, which is one of her favorite songs of all time by her favorite band who I've taken her to Massey Hall to see them and everything and we just always shared a love for Blue Rodeo.

So now the dances are over. And now essentially we're opening up the dance floor for people. And some people are getting up and dancing. But my friends, Mike Engel and... Actually, it was Mike Kick and Jordy. They wanted Lil Wayne, and our DJ did not have any Lil Wayne. I'm surprised,

because it sounded like she had all the music. But no Lil Wayne. I guess not. And then at some point, midnight strikes, and we kind of... Maybe you missed the... Oh, please. Oh, the cake.

The desserts and the cake and the coffee. Babe, I'm sorry. The coffee comes out. There's a dessert table. Our very expensive cake is delivered and we get some pictures cutting it. It wasn't too expensive. I thought I had cut it. I think it's expensive.

Well, how much was it? Tell everybody. Two something. Oh. And I chose this place, this bakery, because it was nearby. So they didn't charge us for delivery. All the other places, delivery costs between $50 and $100. So I was proud of myself for finding a place that cut the delivery costs.

That's amazing. That's amazing. So the coffee came from down the street at Balzac's. Delicious coffee. And the cake came from down the street. Right. And we had tea. And the bar stays open until midnight or whatever. And we had tea. And the bar stays open

until midnight or whatever. Dessert table. There's cupcakes and Italian pastries and brownies. And you made the cupcakes yourself. Yes. That's what I did on Friday. The Friday before the wedding. So how many did you bake? I made 11 dozen. Yeah. They were amazing. They were amazing.

Thank you. So after this dance is, I guess, What a wonderful world plays at like midnight and the final funny my buddy mofo couldn't make it because his daughter had a big recital or something but he showed up at like 11 30 so uh we still had guests arriving late into the night but a lot of people had gone home by midnight and kind of winded down and we realized now the cleanup and the packing of stuff was us yes we don't we didn't hire like a cleanup crew well the servers were helping clean up yeah there's stuff but we still we had to load up the ford edge we realized we couldn't fit everything in there and

we had to come back the next morning to get the rest right and there was a lot of um food left over and desserts um but what we wanted the most we we could not find the lasagna, the tray of lasagna. So this is a funny story. We were frantically searching for the tray of lasagna because my kids love that lasagna. And that makes like, we can get like two or three big meals for the family out of that damn lasagna. We all love it. That palma pasta lasagna is amazing. And we couldn't find this. And then we found out two days ago or maybe yesterday that my mom's friend Sharon had brought home the tray of lasagna. She has that tray of lasagna. I know. It was funny hearing that story. I don't know how that happened.

So we did have plenty of bread. Lots of bread. And plenty of cupcakes left over, but no lasagna. Right. So babe, this no lasagna. Right. So, babe, this was a really good recap. I just want to get some final thoughts, unless you have something to add still from logistics. I was going to explain the honey. Go ahead. Because you say I should have explained it to everybody.

I know. So everyone had a very attractive, maybe I should take a picture for the blog, but a very attractive looking honey package. It's a mini jar of honey with a honey dipper, a wooden honey dipper. And a little tag that says Mike and Mon, June 15, 2013. Right. And there's a very interesting story behind the honey that you forgot to share with everybody. So nobody knew the story. So please tell everyone the story of the honey right now.

I don't know if it's an exciting story, but... Babe, don't ruin it. This is live radio. I wanted to throw in some Filipino tradition or Irish tradition into the wedding somehow. And I couldn't think of any... Well, I did think of some Filipino traditions, but that was scrap for one reason or another. But the honey was an Irish tradition because apparently the couple is supposed to drink some mead, which is honey, honey liquid? No. What is it? A honey drink. Okay. There's a honey drink called mead.

Newlyweds are supposed to drink it it every night for a month after the wedding? Until the full moon. Oh. And that's where the term honeymoon comes from. Now you know the rest of the story. It's Irish. So the honeymoon term comes from this tradition of the honey. So we gave everyone honey so they could enjoy it every day until the full moon.

And we have a super moon right now. Oh. So now you can stop your honey. We're not even having honey. Babe, I don't know about you, but I haven't gone a day without honey. But I think this was supposed to like increase fertility or something. Babe, are you pregnant? Do you want to make an announcement?

I wasn't drinking honey. Well, can you start? Okay, I'll start. Don't we have babies to make? So babe, now that the wedding is eight days behind you and I've seen you smile all week. I know you had a fantastic time. What are your thoughts on your big day? It was, there were a few snags and if I got past that, I really enjoyed, I did get past it and I tried to ignore it and I really enjoyed the party and the ceremony was perfect. So looking back, it's all positive memories.

I heard these dreadful stories about how things could go wrong. So I think I was worried about logistical things happening. But I think, yeah, my tip to anyone getting married is to ignore the little things that you cannot control and just enjoy the day. Because once you do that, you will enjoy it. And I remember to focus on my husband and I was just happy. I was happy too, babe. I think that was a wedding I would like to have attended. I kept thinking this would be the coolest wedding I've ever attended. I love the venue. I just love the ceremony.

I liked everyone that attended, all the friends and family. Yeah, everybody who was there was amazing and just good times. You looked beautiful and everybody, the kids were amazing. My mom and my brothers, your family, your friends, my friends, everything was perfect. Yes. And I love you, babe. Love you, babe. And that brings us to the end of our show.
