So what would this sell for if you were to get like your first price?
That one would probably $1,500.
Did you say $1,500?
Yeah.
Oh, God.
And you were next to a guy that was selling ashtrays with the C word on it.
I was.
Tos show.
Tosh.
Talk show.
Welcome to Tosh show.
Daniel Tosh here.
Eddie, are you here?
I'm here.
Eddie, I can't see you.
I'm right over here.
There you go.
Oh, look who's next to you.
Yeah.
Today's guest.
Today's guest.
She's here a little early.
Sit next to Ed.
Super eager.
Yeah.
Getting herself cozy.
Eddie, you're going to be excited to hear this.
Okay.
I've got a hot take on a hot button issue.
Let's go ahead and hit the gender trigger alarm.
Now, as you may know or may not know, I am.
pro whatever is best for the trans community.
But this issue, this needs to be addressed.
People always want to know, oh, what were they born?
You know, were they born male or female?
The other day, my son, who was born male, okay, and is still currently male.
Right.
He is going to get a haircut.
He has long hair.
he's getting a haircut
and he has to go
to a salon
because he's got beautiful hair
and when you're filling out
the little thing
there's a different price
for boys and girls
his haircut for as a boy
is cheaper
because most boys
have stupid haircuts
but he's got long beautiful hair
and he needs the expertise
of like a stylist.
Right.
They can deal with this beautiful natural baliage and layering.
So I'm like, well, why would his be cheaper?
It shouldn't be based on what anatomy he was born with.
It should be on what style hair.
Oh, you have long hair?
That's this price.
Oh, you have a short haircut.
That's it.
So now some girl.
that comes in with a dumb pixie cut and bangs,
she's having to pay a huge amount of money.
She shouldn't have to pay a lot.
She's got a stupid haircut.
Yeah.
She should be able to pay the cheap one that the little boys pay.
And my son should have to pay the expensive one that, like my wife does.
I don't know what's going on.
Gender shouldn't be involved in haircuts.
What should be involved is the amount of hair.
Length.
Seems simple.
Right.
You're saying, well, where's this coming from?
He's only had two real haircuts.
And one time he had his haircut by the guy stylist that does the men's cuts.
And it was, my wife was furious.
It looked horrible.
Bad haircut.
So from that moment on, he went to the one that, the stylist that does real women's hair.
he was at a skateboard camp and he was going into the to the bathroom and one of the chaperones at the skateboard camp tapped him on the shoulder and said,
oh, you're about to go into the wrong bathroom.
And he said, no, I'm a boy.
And then walked in.
Isn't that funny?
It's so funny.
I mean, it's just, it's like he's got long hair.
You know, what do I got to do?
Just put them in, you know, dumb Kmart T-shirts that have trucks on them.
And, oh, that's a boy.
Look at that.
I don't really have an eye for fashion.
I mean, I, you know, I just try to put them in nice dresses.
And, yeah.
So I guess I take some responsibility.
You know who should style my son is today's guest.
she's back again
ceramicist to the stars
enjoy
my guest today is responsible
for everything I wear on this show
layering me in sweaters and jackets
even though she knows this studio has no AC
and Dylan's telling me the fan is too loud
to leave on during the interview
please welcome back to the show
my friend stylist
personal shopper and wait for it
ceramicist
Harry hi
see that's
That's why we had you back.
Yes.
Because three years ago, you weren't a ceramicist.
I mean, it was.
Not like I am now.
Not a professional ceramicist.
Sure.
Now she's a ceramicist.
Isn't that fun to say?
I love saying ceramicist.
When I look like a normal adult, it's when you're on the show.
But then every other week I'll look like some weird, you know, Grover.
Rover
from Sesame Street
with some woolly
Muppet
Oh those are cute too
First question
Carrie, do you still believe
in ghosts?
Yes
I would be worried
If you stop believing
Yeah
No, ghosts
All the things that relate
to ghosts
Mm-hmm
What question
Are you most worried
About me asking you today
And please answer it
You look great
What's your beauty regime?
Just sleep
Just like 17 hours of sleep
How many hours
night to you actually sleep? Um, seven. I sleep seven. What time do you go to bed? Like 9.30. And you wake up at what time? Like 5.30. I don't like waking up before six. I don't like it to be dark. Yeah. I mean, I get up and then I just hang out a little bit. What do you sleep in at night?
Because you're in the fashion. I mean, I want to know what the fashionista sleeps in at night. Are you a slob? It's not cute. It's like a target black tank top. I have about eight of them. Is it cotton? Yes. It's not silky or? No. And then just cotton.
black, like hot pants.
They have a high slit on them, little boy shorts?
They're boy shorts.
Uh-huh.
They're not cute.
They're not cute.
This is not cute.
Hmm.
But it's what I like to sleep in.
Is the top sheer?
No, there's nothing sexy about this.
Well, okay, I, I don't, some people don't find sheer sexy.
And then I have socks, and I take...
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
You fucking sleeping socks?
Yeah, but I take them on and off throughout the night.
You put it behind me.
Why do you sleep in socks?
My feet get cold, then they get hot.
Then they get cold, then they get hot.
You know why they get hot?
Menopause?
Because you have fucking socks on.
If my wife's feet like rubbed up my leg and there were socks on, I'm like, ugh, fucking hobos sleeping next to me.
How has life changed since appearing on my podcast?
I had to make my Instagram account private.
Because there were some people saying some weird things to me.
Weird or mean?
Not mean.
It was mostly guys.
sure. Yeah, but I'm not used to that, like in the world.
You know?
Guys talking to you?
I'm just a little troll woman. I don't like it when the men come to me.
Your husband takes a lot of boy trips. Yes. You guys all good?
We're good. We're good. Like, I have found this thing now that I'm super obsessed with.
You love ceramics. I love it. You got a kiln in the garage.
On the side of my house, it's outside.
It's not in the garage?
No.
Can the city shut you down for having that?
Just don't tell them.
It seems like a fire hazard.
Don't tell them anybody.
Okay.
And then I also go to a studio, by the way.
I go to a studio in El Sikando.
I know you go to a studio and you complain that people always want to, like, bother you
for advice because you're kind of a veteran ceramicist and they're new to the game.
Is that true?
I don't go to that studio anymore.
That was run by the city.
You were too overwhelmed?
Oh, is that just like old people like doing free ceramics?
It's like a, it's like three parks and wreck.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah, that's depressing.
I find it depressing because I, Carly shows me in these like local Malibu catalogs of activities.
They're like, 55 and up, like coloring and stuff like that.
Yeah.
And I'm like, I'm four years away from hanging out with dudes and coloring.
My mom is doing that now.
I think that's great.
I love that they have that, by the way.
But I'm not ready for it.
And no, there's young people, older people, whatever in the studio.
but my friends of mine open a private studio called Standard Ceramics Nelsigundo,
and I go to that because it's open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
So I can be there all day.
And so you like to be there all day while your husband is out traveling the world watching soccer matches.
Soccer matches.
He's not an American, is he?
No, he's English.
Does he have a passport?
U.S. passport?
Oh, my gosh.
Yes.
He's a citizen.
So you made sure that he became a citizen before you would marry him?
No, he was a citizen before I met him.
Okay, good.
Yeah, I guess I like being alone a lot. So I'm fine if he goes on trips.
Okay. I like being alone, but I consider when she's with me, that's still alone.
Does that make sense? I mean, sure.
I mean, we spend so much time together. We spend all weekends together. We're together every night. We spend an incredible amount of time together.
When I tell people how much time we spend together, most couples are like, oh, I don't spend that much time with my husband.
Okay. So if we were to hook you up to like a love meter.
Yeah.
Okay.
Of your love for him and his love for you.
Yeah.
Whose meter, you know, goes farther?
I think we'd be the same.
That would be great, but that's not going to happen.
It's a meter.
This is like theoretical.
Yeah, totally.
It's like reincarnation and ghosts.
I'm just asking you, which one do you think has stronger love?
I really think it's equal.
Okay.
So that's my answer.
No, but one has to be just a smidget more.
I'm not going to answer this.
You're already to answer this question.
Do you think he loves you more?
That's not bad to say that.
Maybe.
Maybe.
Uh-huh.
But then we bring our dog into the equation and he takes over all of it.
Oh, your beautiful dog.
Economists might think this is a recession indicator, but I hear you're not buying
$800 unicorn t-shirts anymore.
I'm not.
I'm not.
I guess I'm trying to go back to like, okay, so I'm, I found this thing that I really love.
You're talking about ceramics.
What else would I be doing?
What are we talking about?
I'm not talking about ceramics. I was just talking about the fact that you used to have crazy clothes.
I know, I guess I'm tying it and together. Okay. Okay. Tying in it together. Just give me a second. I feel like I, like, used to kind of have a life that was a lot fancier. And I was more attached to that. Like, being a stylist, and I was going to the stores all the time. And I'm not in that world. Like, I'm not going to the fancy stores. I'm not pulling for you like I used to. I mean, I'm buying you clothes, but, like, I don't have that daily kind of thing.
I'm not driving through Beverly Hills all the time.
Like, that is no longer a part of my life.
Do you want it to be?
There's times I miss it.
I miss parts of it.
But no, I don't anymore.
Like, if I do a job now, I get really bummed out after because I realize how much I miss it.
Okay.
But I don't want to be on a show anymore.
Like, I don't want to be working like that.
You're saying you don't want to go back to season two of the goat?
No.
No.
We'll be right back.
Paws show.
Tell me about some of the authors.
You've styled for their book cover photo shoots.
You?
You just recently did the styling for our book cover.
Yeah, I did.
My wife and me, we had to do a couple looks.
Yes.
And we were back in our exact neighborhood of where we did Tosh.
Point O.
It was all the feels were coming back.
Yes.
And I started just immediately reminding you how I act.
Just yelling at me.
I wasn't yelling at you, but I was like, tell people to speed things up.
Yeah, well, I had to walk in there.
I don't know if you know this, but I walked in.
And I'm like, hey guys, so I've worked with them for about 15 years.
So this is how this is going to go.
Okay?
He's going to go real fast.
And they were like, no, we're going to shoot this.
And we're going to talk about it.
Then we're going to have lunch.
And I was like, oh, I don't think that's going to happen.
You know, like, this is how it's going to go.
You know what's so funny?
Everybody, like, canceled their lunch and they just waited until we were done.
They're going to have lunch when I left.
Yes, because it was ridiculous.
I was like, he's not going to hang out here for three hours.
Like, we're going to come in.
We're going to figure this out.
We're going to do her real quick.
And then you guys will have lunch and they'll go home.
This is how this is going to happen.
And I was right.
That's right.
I was right.
You felt good.
You felt like, I know what I'm doing.
I know what I'm doing.
I know what I'm doing.
I know what I handle this.
Handle.
I know I'm going to handle this.
Again, it makes me seem like an asshole, which is fine.
I'll take it.
Also, the people that are there are like, if they were to go home and their significant
other, we're like, oh, hey, how was your day at work today?
They're like, oh, we worked with Daniel and Tosh.
Oh, how was he?
They're like, well, we worked half the time that we were supposed to, but we still got paid in full.
I mean, is that you're going to be your biggest complaint?
He hurried us along.
By the way, you are not an asshole.
You don't act like an asshole.
Like, that is not at all what I think anyone would walk away saying.
Okay.
Well, I was just trying to, you know, a little devil's advocate.
Yes.
I mean, you're funny.
We fall back into our old patterns.
Like, you like to just yell my name, no matter where I am.
I have to hear like my day be yelled and I show up all stress down.
Couldn't figure out how the volume worked on the TV.
There's World Cup I wanted to watch.
That's true. There was a World Cup.
I don't really work on any shows anymore.
I did two shows this year, but again, I got hired to do basically Google Docs.
I'm just on the phone with an executive making these Google Docs, going back and forth via email.
It doesn't sound as fun anymore.
It is not fun.
Like if I was 22 coming into this business and I'm like, this is what it is, I'd be like, this is so dumb.
I don't want to do this.
Oh.
I mean, we had so much fun when we started.
We were all together.
We were shooting all these shows.
It was very creative.
There was a lot of ideas.
But the sexual harassment.
Who is very much there.
I mean, okay, so to answer my question, am I not buying stuff like that anymore?
I am not.
But I'm also not working as much as I used to.
So I don't really, I don't have any more.
Number one, I don't have anywhere to wear it.
I'm working in my garage.
I'm working in a studio.
I do not look like this all the time.
Like, I mostly, like, don't wear makeup.
Maybe if you did, your husband would want to hang out with you a little more.
That's probably true.
That's probably true.
Instead of covered in clay.
Covered in clay, yes.
You watch the movie Ghost constantly?
No.
The dumbest reference.
Ever shatter anything by accident?
Yeah, I'm hoping the stuff I brought didn't break.
You have shattered something that you cared very much about?
Yes.
Oh, like in the process of building it or like?
Probably right after just moving an O-1 piece.
Sometimes I turn my pieces over and I seal them with gorilla glue.
Is that industry standard?
I don't think so.
I don't think so, but there's like all these sealants you can use because I use porcelain paper clay that's mostly like the clay that I use and it sweats.
So like if this was made out of porcelain, the bottom would get like kind of wet.
So you have to seal it.
So someone told me about clear gorilla glue.
So I've been using that.
And then someone else.
Gorilla glue.
Why don't you do her a solid?
Someone else.
Send her a palette.
Some sealant you put on tiles.
You're talking about a flex seal?
I don't know if it's a flex.
Give them a shout-out.
Like tile and seal, something.
Okay, so I have that in my, I have a bunch of random stuff.
I bet you if somebody were to storm your house, they would think, oh, no, this is like a huge
meth lab.
Probably, and it's probably super dangerous, and I have to wear a lot of PPE, honestly.
Uh-huh.
I'm buying glazes, and I'm mixing glazes, and I'm sanding things, and...
What's your favorite grit, a sandpaper?
I like the square sand.
They're like they come in squares and you do them for drywall.
Oh, you're talking about little foam ball pads?
Those are nice.
Those are really nice.
Yeah, you don't actually get your knuckles.
No, that's true.
So I don't throw on a wheel.
I handbuild everything.
No, I can tell.
I have a wheel to my house.
Cemetery is not your thing.
It's getting better.
Okay, it's getting better.
I want to make organic pieces that still look symmetrical.
It's getting a lot better.
I've been working really hard on that, by the way.
Because I keep telling people, no, no, I have a special needs friend when they look at my vases.
Where are you selling a lot of this?
That's a good question.
Okay, good.
I'm glad I asked a good question.
That's a good.
No ghosts, no marriage questions, just straight to the point.
That's a good question.
Do it.
Okay.
I'm trying to work that out right now.
That is the million dollar question.
Million, that seems ambitious.
Maybe it's $5 billion.
I am working that out.
I'm trying to figure out.
I'm doing a lot of art shows, which I don't particularly enjoy.
I load up my car, I have a tent, I drive to a location.
Like, I did one in San Diego.
I sold one thing there, and it's so much work.
Congratulations.
It was $40, by the way.
These costs like $800 to join.
You have to apply, then you pay for it.
Then you drive there.
Then you set it up the tent.
And then you stay there all weekends.
That's like a job fair.
That seems, and then nobody's talking to you at your tent.
That's tough.
Well, people come and talk to me, but they are not buying anything.
Right.
And I don't make things.
Like, I'm not making mugs and plates.
And, like, I make, like, pieces of art.
And so I'm pricing them thus so.
Have you ever considered maybe just to help offset some of the fees having, like, some ashtrays that say,
on them?
Well, I just did a show with somebody.
I know.
And they sold.
A guy next to your booth was selling garbage.
And he had ashtrays that's had the seat.
word on them and he was he was moving a lot of units there was some units moving um and it wasn't
trash it's just different it's just different from what I have was his art an ashtray with the
C word on it does not seem like that's art you recently celebrated your 60th birthday oh my god
53 I'm 53 you're two years older than me I'm two years older than you I always thought you were
one year older than me I thought about it the other day and I thought wait a second you know what
though, this is how bad I am.
I could be off on my age.
I could be 52 and I didn't know it for like the past 10 years.
You were born in 75.
75.
I was born in 73.
So yeah, too.
But our birthdays are one day apart.
I know.
But you never wish me happy birthday.
I always wish you happy birthday on your day.
And then my day comes and you're always like the day I wish you happy birthday, you're like,
yeah, back at you.
Yeah.
But if you wish me happy birthday and your birthday is one day on either side of me,
then I just say back at you, we're done.
That's it.
That's not good birthday protocol.
I hate.
I don't like putting, I don't get the reminders.
My phone, I don't let my phone remind me that people's birthdays.
Oh, I do.
I know.
And Pete does too.
But then it's like, it's just, then there's nothing to it.
It's just like, ah, happy birthday.
Is your birthday the 30th?
Yes.
Right.
My husband's is the 20th.
No one cares.
Jeez.
How's he doing?
He's good.
This is what he told me this morning when I walked out.
He said, have fun.
Don't stress.
That's what he said to me.
That's good.
That's good advice.
Because he knows I stress.
He knows I stress out a bit.
Yeah, you panic.
I do a bit.
You hit the panic button almost immediately.
I do.
When I just went to your house a couple weeks ago, this was the worst panic.
Remember when I couldn't open your door?
Oh, my goodness.
I'm so excited that you said that.
Are you ready for this?
This is who's been in charge of everything I've worn for 20 years.
She's at my house before I get home.
I'm having to take the kids somewhere.
school and I'm like I'll be right back I'll be I'm 10 minutes behind you and I said just go in the garage
door is open just go through the garage she texts me back I can it's locked and I reply no it's not
I say no it's not and then she goes oh okay my bad I'll check again it's locked and so that's it
that's it that's all I can take before I fucking go off the deep end I'm like what the fuck is wrong
with you fucking no it's not I don't lock that door
The door's not fucking locked.
It's open.
Open the fucking door.
I just start, I lose it.
Like a crazy person.
Then she goes, oh.
Oh, it's a, yeah, I was pulling.
I was pulling.
She didn't go both ways.
She just pulled.
I just pulled.
I don't know.
I was nervous.
I have, I get nervous on a door?
I don't know.
I went in your house and then I had to walk through your garage and there's like,
you show up to us clothing.
How many clothing stores have you shown up to and didn't go in because you thought it was closed when in fact you just,
you just.
Didn't push.
By the way, my mom just did this with something.
And I thought, oh, no, this is happening to me.
Yeah.
She's like, I fell the other day because I, my gate closes and my friend's gate pushes open.
And so she tried, I don't know.
She did exactly what I did.
I don't like hearing your mom fell, though.
I think she was okay.
But she did say, because she has an Apple Watch.
So she's all into like, did you get the alert on the Apple Watch?
Because I'm connected to her.
Oh, and it says your mom had fallen?
Didn't say that.
We only.
I don't know if I want that type of alert with my parents.
What if it accidentally is like, no, dad's just in here trying to reverse 69 me.
I'm like, ugh, Apple watch turn off.
Now, oh, not a good segue at all.
But since our interview, you lost your father.
I did.
I'm sorry to hear that.
That was the bad time.
And then you were happy because Eddie lost his father.
You were like, oh.
I was not happy.
Not happy.
But it all happened around the same time.
Yeah.
If I can say this about you, just unobled.
emotional roller coaster.
Sometimes.
I cry a little bit more these days.
That's nice.
Like Dolly Parton.
I cried a little bit.
I'll be honest.
It got me.
Right?
It got me.
I mean, and all the songs listening on the way here.
I'm listening to a Dolly playlist in almost every zone in my house.
It's just sad.
And she's just amazing.
Here's my sad story with it is I scheduled myself to perform in Vegas in September
on a weekend that Dolly.
was performing.
And I have to schedule almost a full year out.
And I knew that she was performing at Caesars.
Carly was, I was like, hey, I'm doing this for you.
You've never got a chance to see Dolly.
You're going to get to see her.
Bring all your friends that want to see her.
And this is a year ago.
Fun.
And I was very excited about this.
And then five months ago that the dates got canceled.
And I said, I said she'll never perform again.
And I go, I'm sorry, but that's it.
And it's done.
didn't know. No, I did. Okay. Because I know once they start pulling dates off the calendar,
like that's it. For an 80-year-old, you can't be like, oh, no, I'm sure at 85 she'll get her groove back.
Now, is it true that the first time you were on this podcast, again, I got to remind people,
she was one of our original guests before the podcast ever aired. I recorded a handful to basically
practice to test out my chops. Turns out I'm a natural. You know, Carrie dropped the ball,
but that's not, I'm not going to, I'm not going to finger point here.
Nice enough to come back.
But anyway, that was before the show ever aired.
So she was basically doing us a solid by letting me interviewer.
Then the show came out.
And let's be honest, right out of the gate, a hit, a smash hit the show.
And then she was like, oh, shit, you can't air this.
I said crazy things.
And she, much like me, is.
Is somebody, it's like, I don't want my parents hearing that.
Yeah.
I don't want that.
She had to hide the whole interview from her family.
I did.
Successfully.
And then your father finally listened to it.
And that was the day.
That was the day.
That he died.
He said, I can't live.
No.
But you did say after he patched, you're like, oh, now I can do, now I could do an episode.
Well, okay, this is the thing is I know you so well.
And so we could talk.
And I can, I tell you.
a lot like you're a friend of mine right it was the same thing we worked on the show by the way
i remember going to Vegas with you one time and seeing the people like running after you and i'm like
oh he's famous i didn't occur to me the point i wanted to get the point of the fact that you as a 50-year-old
woman were scared to let your parents hear you talking i know i know but i was i totally was i know i am
every week you know what i mean every week i get a phone call from my mom where she just she's like daniel
Why would you tell people that I say suck a bag of dick?
I'm like, well, because that's absurd.
You would never say such a thing.
No one thinks that you say that.
Well, that's just the most horrible thing ever.
How's your backyard?
It's good.
You had a tree die.
I did.
It was really sad.
I showed you a picture of it.
I know.
I was sad because there was a beautiful tree in her backyard.
It was so beautiful.
It was kind of the centerpiece of the backyard.
Why did the tree die?
Age?
Fungus?
Yeah, it was probably 70 years old.
It was a camphor.
tree, which is this Japanese tree, and it was gorgeous. And I think the neighbor's tree next to the
house got some disease. And I think they shared roots and it died. I saw something like this in Moana.
And what it turned out to be when the coconut trees were infected, the heart of Tefeiti was taken
by Maui and a disease spread from island to island until they returned the heart of Tefeethe's.
and then everything went back.
So there's a chance, and I don't know if there's been any reports of this in South Bay,
but has anybody taken a small green jade spiral?
Because that is, in fact, the heart of Tefiti.
Maywee!
Moana is time you knew.
The village of Mototu.
I have not seen this movie, by the way.
I know you haven't.
So, yes, the tree died.
It was sad.
Oh.
Carrie.
Oh.
Hey, let's talk about your body.
Oh, wow.
I love that topic.
Let's talk about your menopause.
Let's talk about it.
You're way too young to be going through menopause.
Not at all.
I was kidding.
I know.
You're old as shit.
Oh, jeez.
So you just started?
It's not like you wake up one day and you're like, this is what's happening right now.
Can I ask you questions about it?
Sure.
Ask me.
Ask away.
Because all I really know is what I learned from Mrs. Doubtfire.
Which was a man.
Yes, but, well, I don't think you're supposed to say a man.
Okay.
I think you can respect her choices.
Sure.
Because she had hot flashes, I remember.
That does happen.
You do you have hot flashes?
So I didn't really know what was happening.
And my mom, I was wearing, I wear glasses normally.
I have contacts in right now, but I normally wear glasses all the time.
Okay.
My glasses started fogging up.
Because your body was generating actual heat?
Yes.
And so it was happening around like dinner time.
If I took your temperature during.
a hot flash would it actually be higher?
I've never done it, probably.
I don't know why not.
Why wouldn't you check that?
I don't know.
Because it happens so quick and you're just, you just are.
How long does the hot flash last?
It was like a couple minutes.
So it is a flash.
It's a couple minutes, yeah.
It's not, doesn't stay on for hours.
No.
So it happens and you can see when other people,
some people just start sweating and turn bright red.
Like I've had friends in the ceramics studio.
It's a hot topic in ceramics, by the way.
Oh, okay.
Is that the age range of people you're dealing with?
Yes.
There's not like smoke,
shows 20-year-olds in their... Oh, there are. Oh, there are. I got to get into ceramics.
There's, yes, for sure. But the people that I'm hanging out with normally are like my age.
Oh, the old birds. Yeah, the old birds. And then their kids are all coming to ceramics,
which is very cute. Back to menopause. Got it. So we're all going through it right now. So if
someone's really hot, we're like, oh, is this happening to you right now? And then we all stop and
start talking about if we're doing HRT, which is hormone replacement therapy. I don't know
if you know about that.
So I take a patch, I take an estrogen patch.
I don't take it.
I put it on my body.
Where?
Like around my abdomen.
Like below your waistline?
Yes.
Yes.
Like where a bathing suit would cover, let's say.
Like what kind of bathing suit?
Like a hot bathing suit or a gross bathing suit?
No.
Like a dumb bathing suit.
Okay.
Like, ooh, I'm trying to be vintage Maryland Monroe, but really it's like, I kind of
want to just be wrapped up in a spank.
Yes.
Yeah.
So you stick these patches.
on I do mine once a week.
Some people do it twice a week.
And nobody can really tell you this.
Like you go to these doctors, you go to like a specialist.
You do all these different things, but you have to like figure out what's going on with
your body.
Like I was on one patch and then I went up to the other patch and that was too much.
So you just mood swings?
Is that what?
Yeah.
And I'm just.
Irritable?
Yeah, I'm really irritable.
And I just can't.
Like everybody bugs me.
Like everybody.
Like everything.
She has a great personality.
She's fun to be around.
I can't imagine this version where she's just, just angry at everyone.
Are you angry?
I get, I get kind of angry.
Okay.
And then I just, like, dumb things.
And then you can't remember words either.
Like, really basic words.
Like, refrigerator.
Did you say refrigerator?
Refrigerator.
Okay.
Refrigerator, okay.
But even that word, I can't remember.
Frigerator, okay?
You don't need to remember refrigerator.
Okay?
But if it's a normal thing, okay?
Other than hot flashes, the ear,
Okay.
Mood's way.
Is there any other physical change?
I mean, I don't mean to get too personal here.
Oh, no.
But is your vagina drying up?
Yes.
Yes.
And that's what the patches.
Do they...
Well, no, testosterone fixes that.
Okay.
So you do, like, you rub testosterone, like, on your thighs, and that's supposed to help that.
And your...
People always talk about the sex drive changing during this.
But is it because more because of the actual active intercourse is uncomfortable or
not as pleasant that that that you know coincides with the desire 100% okay 100% it could be
super painful because there's just no moisture and then there's just also like a lower sex drive
it totally sucks but like that's that happens I mean it's almost like I feel like I lost I lost
someone today because I the carry I know just always horned up that's what Eddie used to call you
Horny Carey. And I'm like, Eddie, we're in an office setting. This isn't appropriate.
How long is this going to last? Okay, so you go off like, my mom was 53. So I'm 53. So my mom's like,
this is what's happening. And the funny thing is I tell her I'm doing all this stuff. Like hormone
patches, I'm taking progesterone. It's like, why are you doing all that? It's just a couple months and
then it'll go away, which I'm hoping is the case. Okay. But then like, I know women that are in their
80s till having hot flashes. So there is relief. Like, thankfully, I feel like we're
first generation that there's we're talking about it. I mean, I guess this is when you talk to me
about marriage, I guess this is when I'm like, yeah, because it's got to be, it's hard, you know,
my sex drive is lower. I'm not as interested. I've got these things physically going on, you know,
and he's being so great about it because, you know, I can talk to him about it and he's understanding.
But it is a, it's a real thing that happens. Of course. And it's hard. You have to kind of do it
yourself too. Like you take these pills or you take this stuff and then if that doesn't work,
you try this thing and you keep having to try different things. Yeah, I don't like it when the
fixes aren't easy. I think that's why I hate going to doctors so much because it's like, oh,
well, that didn't work for your stomach issues. Yes. And we'll come back, we'll try this. We'll do
nine other tests. And it's like, ugh. Because you gain weight, you're irritable. You feel like
you're PMSing. Your period shows up at times where you don't want it to. So you can be in like
menopause or perimenopause, I guess, premenopause.
and still have a period.
And then you can be on all these hormones.
It's super exhausting.
I mean women.
Am I right?
And then you're tired all the time.
Yeah, it's just...
It's just a lot.
Meanwhile, guys just keep getting cuter as they get older.
Really do.
My husband's so cute.
That's the...
I know.
He's so cute.
And I'm just like, what's happening to me?
Well, I mean, you're still very attractive.
When you put the effort in, Kerry.
When you're not covered in clay.
I'm covered in clay.
I'm covered in clay.
You probably look great covered in clay.
And it's not my thing.
Don't think it's anyone's thing.
I did a class the other day.
I do all these workshops, by the way, and I took a raccoon class.
I will show you.
I'll show you an example.
Give me a show me an example.
You want to see it?
Yeah.
Lord knows I don't want you to get all irritable here.
Okay, this.
Whoa.
Now this is the carry I know.
Funky.
Yep.
So that is made out of a cashmere sweater.
This is made out of a sweater?
Yes.
Is it made out of one of my cashmere sweaters?
No, but I'll take them if you have.
many extras. I mean, I'm sure I do. So what would this sell for if you were just get like your first
price? That one would probably $1,500. Did you say $1,500? Yeah. Oh, God. And you were next to a guy that was
selling ashtrays with the C word on it. I was. I was. So I don't know where to put my work.
By the way, I do think this is pretty. Okay, thanks. So I think that's pretty. If I had a shelf,
but I would put it on a shelf. Okay. So I made this one too.
So that's the kind of bowl.
These I make a lot of.
I mean, that glaze there is really pretty.
No, thanks.
And I see that you're getting closer on Cemetery.
This is my cloud bowl, and I'm making a bunch of these.
Okay.
And what am I supposed to do with this?
Put candy in it?
Sure, or fruit or whatever you want.
Uh-huh.
You know, you're just like a bowl.
It's like a centerpiece bowl.
It's like a bowl.
Yeah, so you can put that.
So you graduated from mugs to bowls.
I was so bad at mugs, right?
So bad.
I don't know.
I gave two of them away.
So, yes.
This is what I've been making, and this is porcelain paper clay.
Look, feel how good this feels.
It does feel good, right?
Okay, but I'm not on Exist here right now.
To make these.
They feel so good.
I love it.
So you can take one of these.
One of these is for you.
You can pick.
I feel like I know what you're going to pick.
Which one would I pick?
I feel like you want that one.
This one?
I feel like it.
But I made this for you first,
because I thought this was, like, more sophisticated
and you always make fun on my stuff,
and I felt like this is, like, to show you
that it's gotten, like, very elevated.
But see, but now,
Now in my head I'm taking $1,500 from you.
No, it's okay.
And that seems like something I wouldn't do.
I mean, you can buy it then.
Oh.
And how easy is it for people to get into ceramics to learn all of these things?
Oh, it's so easy.
And I love talking about it.
And I'm, this is kind of like advanced ceramics.
I used a cone 10 clay and I used a cone six glaze.
All right.
I'm going to take a nap.
You wake me when you're done fucking describing.
I know all these things.
now because I have to, I've had to like.
And where can you buy your actual, like, somebody, somebody watching it, right, they have to go
to your, to what, you know, probably in my website.
So go to your website.
You can go to my website.
And then you can buy this for $1,500.
Yes.
But it'll be in my house, but I'll gladly take it off my shelf and give it to the person for $1,500.
That's what I could do.
I could just borrow some of your stuff until it sells.
We'll be right back.
Pawshow.
Do you have anything else to show or is it?
Yeah, you have a bunch of stuff.
Oh, this is what I really like making these.
These are like these organic vessels.
Don't put stuff on my table.
Okay, okay.
I've made a very large one that looks like that.
This is $295.
You know how I know?
There's a price tag on that.
That's not really a price tag.
It's a piece of tape.
It is.
Hey, Carrie?
There you go.
So I make these.
You know what this looks like.
What?
Looks like a metapause pussy.
I know my stuff does look a little like that.
Okay, so this is Raku.
These two pieces are Raku.
Okay.
Whoa, look at this one.
So that is porcelain.
Is this so breakable?
That is very breakable.
I probably shouldn't be doing porcelain in Raku.
Why do you keep saying Ragu?
It's Rakeu.
Is this Raku too?
Yes, this right.
You can touch it.
Okay, I will.
Okay, so this is.
Oh, look at that glaze on the bottom.
Well, no, that's not a glaze on the bottom.
That's grilla glue.
That's grillo glue.
That's grillo glue at the bottom.
So I sealed it.
What am I supposed to do with this?
Besides, I know it's art, but I'm supposed to put flowers in there or something?
No, because it probably isn't watertight.
Well, what if you put like some fake sticks or, you know, whatever people do?
Sure, sure.
You can do that.
This looks like something that I would line my aquarium with.
Yeah, a lot of my pieces look very aquatic, like of the ocean, like ancient.
I know what aquatic means.
Of the ocean.
Of the ocean.
You are of the ocean, are you not?
Maybe.
Wait, wait, this one here, that's horse hair.
That's horse hair.
you get horse hair? You can buy it on Amazon.
It's like horsetail hair. All I'm thinking
about is Rich having to go out
to get a package on his front
door and be like, hey, did
you by chance order
horse hair?
And you have to be like, yes, that's mine, honey.
It's all like, okay, I just,
I didn't want to say anything insulting
to set you off. Okay, there's more.
Oh, good. You like
all this stuff on your desk? Oh, look at this.
Another vagina. Okay.
So I wanted to figure out how to make things
with holes in them.
And I did.
So I took a workshop.
That's also Raku.
That's a white crackle glaze.
May we.
Me way.
That is pretty.
Do you like that?
Do you want that one?
No.
Is this all of it?
Yeah.
Oh, and then I have.
Oh.
Fuck.
I made some candles, some candlesticks.
Oh.
Yeah, that's adorable.
I hate candlesticks.
I like candles, but I don't like candle sticks.
See, I have to put a nail in them to stick the candle in.
You forgot to put a nail in it?
I just took these out last night.
I fired these last night in my house.
All of this you did last night?
No, but that bowl I did in the candles I did.
I glazed these last night.
I did it yesterday morning so I could take it out this morning.
It takes 24 hours.
I like these the best.
Okay, take those.
All right, I'll take them.
But they don't have the nails in them.
No, but I don't even think this is going to be wide enough for any candle to actually get into it.
I don't think you measured it, right?
No, it'll work.
Did you put a candlestick in this?
No, but it'll work.
It'll work.
That's so great.
I didn't.
I think the work is beautiful and great, but I mean, if you're asking me which one I want to put me.
This also looks like it could be in like a room in like a Vegas in some massive penthouse.
Well, that's why I liked, I wanted to learn how to make pieces like that, but I don't completely enjoy making them.
I'm going to keep these candle horses, and I really love them.
Okay, good.
Okay.
Well, I got gifts for you.
Did you make this and give it to me?
No.
Oh, okay, good.
Here you go.
Oh, no.
Well.
Okay.
Okay.
I got you some women's multivitamin.
Oh, perfect.
Thank you.
I don't know if you need this anymore.
Any more.
It's wipes for your diva cup.
What's that?
Well, I don't think you need it, but.
Is that like a period cup?
Yes.
Oh.
Carly tried it, but she's a hemophiliac.
And it was just a catastrophe.
Yeah.
So we're like, I go, she goes, I can.
Oh, can I give away your diva cup?
And she goes, I don't think you should do that.
But here's some wipes.
Oh, no.
But you don't need those.
No.
You can give you a hat.
Do you ever wear a hat?
Yeah.
Okay, here's a boys wear pink.
I already.
Oh.
Do you ever use castor oil?
What does that make you do?
It's for your skin and, and for...
Why are you giving me so many things?
Reduces the appearance of stretch marks, blemishes,
scars, and uneven skin tone.
Soften and hydrate dry facial skin.
Improves the look of dark, undrized circles.
lessens the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
If this did all of that, we would be showering this.
Okay.
You should.
Go ahead.
That would be.
Stop, just take that.
This, um, I.
Oh my God.
This was in my office for 15 years.
Kaster and Ava slept in this and they're both dead.
So, uh, and my, Carl's way too big for this.
You don't love it.
Did you just clean out something?
Like your garage or something?
That's how I always do it.
You really don't watch the show.
Get this off the desk.
Then I got you.
these. These are old throat pillows that I don't like. I don't, I'm never going to use those.
But they're outdoor, but they used to, but Greg, my father-in-law sat on a bunch of farted. I didn't
like it. So you're giving me fart pillows.
It's true.
Eddie calls them, Eddie calls them Greg's little booster pillow. Oh, no. Anyway, I think you'll
like those. This I'm not giving you unless you say you actually like them. You like those or no.
Put them on. I'll tell you a no or yes. I don't think so. You look like an, like an age.
in comedy back in the, you know.
Get out there.
Get out there.
Make a laugh.
Yeah, I got to do the old speakey's, are you?
Last gift.
Guys, this.
You know what that is?
That is a key.
How do you not fucking know what keys are?
Oh, my gosh.
Am I getting a cart?
Yeah, it's a golf cart.
It's an old one.
And it doesn't run really well.
It's not safe.
Wow.
The batteries are bad.
Amazing.
This is just out.
better and better.
I don't think,
I don't know that it'll make it up the hill.
Okay.
To your house without some serious work.
Again, it doesn't,
it's not currently really running,
but you'll be able to,
you and Rich are able to figure it out.
I don't know where to put it.
You'll find a place in your house.
We're in my house.
No,
not in your house.
Is this like where boys were pink,
like I had to keep all the clothes in my house?
This is like that.
No, no.
This is like,
um,
that was a company that you reaped financially,
just huge for.
Oh.
No.
This is a full car, basically.
Okay, thank you.
Yes, that's what I was looking for.
There, you're welcome.
I get that off my desk.
Thank you.
Okay?
Well, listen, I'm, again, I don't know what it is
if you have Benjamin Button's disease,
but you just seem like you're just getting younger and younger.
Do you want to hear about wood-firing ceramics or cone 10 or cone 6 or oxidation or reduction?
Do you want to hear about any of that?
No.
Okay.
All right.
Thank you for being on the show.
Thanks.
I want to thank Carrie for being on the show again.
What a treat.
And for her to open up about the way her body is changing physically, you know, getting hair and parts of her body.
Her voice is changing.
All of that.
That was just very, I learned a lot.
And I look forward to it.
Thank goodness, my wife is still in her teens.
Hey, you know what else I want to bring up?
Speaking of past guest, our.
Our buddy, Sam, I made pizza dough.
I made his dough recently.
Right.
It was good.
It was good and it went well and I was throwing the dough.
I was so proud of myself.
That's kind of like ceramics.
I think like pizza dough is like a man's version of ceramics.
You got the kiln?
Yep.
And you pull it out and it's like, ah, it would have been better had I gone to a store and just bought something nice.
the sauces, your glaze, you're right.
You should have probably picked it up somewhere.
It's very similar.
Making pizza, making pottery.
It's all the same thing.
All right, let's have some plugs.
Patreon.com slash toss show.
Check it out for a free seven-day trial.
I mean, that deal is unbelievable.
My first farewell tour where Eddie and I will be performing this next leg
throughout the southeast of America.
Eddie, you had some feedback that you wanted to read?
from our tour, what do you got?
This is upcoming.
It's Jonathan Wade.
Okay.
Birmingham, Saw's barbecue in Avondale.
June coffee has a pastry
is from the bakery store right next door.
Okay.
Now, this is helpful.
This person has reached out to it.
Knows that we're performing in Birmingham, Alabama.
Maybe they're coming to the show.
Maybe they're not.
But they've told us right now that Saw's barbecue is the place to hit up.
Right.
They gave us a coffee place, June coffee.
And they've got good pastry.
across the street. This is great. This is what I want for my fans. I appreciate that. Anybody else
telling us about the tour? What's going on? We got Amanda Lynn Craig. Okay. Why aren't you doing Canada on your
tour? Please, for the love of God, also check your email, please. Okay. And this is the other side of it.
This is why touring is pointless. Because why aren't you doing Canada on your tour? I just finished doing
Canada. This year I've been to Vancouver, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, what else? Windsor.
Come on. I already did. I just did it. Why aren't you doing Canada? That's just dumb. That's what I,
that's my biggest fear that I leave Montgomery, Alabama, and there was two other people that would have
come and bought tickets.
When are you going to do Montgomery?
Hopefully never again.
That was it.
If I'm to foreshadow.
All right.
What else do we got?
We got to plug Toshoshostow store.com.
Hit the music.
They love me.
They love me not.
Carl, you paying attention?
All right.
This is from at Donna Webster, 43010.
Oh, I already know this is going to be positive.
I love Adonna.
Daniel has the most interesting guests.
This is by far my most favorite podcast.
Daniel is such a wonderful interviewer.
Keep up the great work.
That's a bit much.
And if I'm going to be honest with everyone,
it sounds like a burner account of mine
where I'm just complimenting myself.
But all right, let's just assume Donna's a real fan
and that was genuine.
So I'll just say thank you and leave it at that.
Let's get to something I'm more comfortable with people that don't love me.
There you go.
At Chris 81639.
Mm-hmm.
Why does Daniel Tosh delete comments sensitive?
Oh, fuck you.
If you believe that I know how to log into our account and delete comments that aren't flattering,
then you're certainly not a fan, but you, you haven't been listening.
Because I can't do anything.
and I know these guys aren't deleting negative comments
because they enjoy them.
Maybe what's happened,
and again, I'm just spitballed,
maybe the person that wrote something negative
had a change of heart.
And they were like, you know what?
Upon a second listen,
I stand corrected and they deleted such nastiness.
That's what I'd like to think.
But I can promise you on the lives of,
my children.
Nah, let's not do that. On the lives of
Eddie's children, I have never
deleted a comment
on anything.
You heard it here. Okay? And I
love his kids. Not as much as mine,
but I still love them. Okay?
There's different levels of love.
All right. See you next week.
