This week, Jason is joined by content creator couple who turned into social media stars, Chicklet and Maleni! After meeting at a friend’s party over ten years ago, Chicklet and Maleni had instant ch...emistry and it was their sense of humor that eventually brought them together, not only as a couple, but an internet comedy duo. Achieving a level of fame and recognition was not necessarily an objective for the budding comedians who stood out with their short videos, however, with over 7 million combined followers across their social media accounts, their love for each other and comedy turned into a story that people wanted to follow.  Maleni and Chicklet open up about the professional paths they once imagined for themselves and how those plans shifted as content creation took center stage. Chicklet shares how he got his start while working at Parks and Rec before taking the leap into full-time content, while Maleni reflects on her early career with a dance company. They break down the moment they realized real money could be made on social media, which videos first went viral, and their experience with Streaming University. The two also dive into the biggest challenges of working together, their journey with sobriety, and how they’ve built security in their relationship, their finances, and their mutual support system. Chicklet and Maleni reveal all this and so much more in another episode you can’t afford to miss! Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome back to another episode of Trading Secrets. Today we are joined by that content creator couple who turned social media stars with videos of their exaggerated couple arguments. And let me tell you, those exaggerated couple arguments are just as real in life when the cameras aren't rolling. Chicklet and Millenny. After meeting at a friend's party over 10 years ago, chicklet and millennia had instant chemistry, and it was their sense of humor that eventually brought them together, not only as a couple, but an internet comedy duo. Achieving a level of fame and recognition was not necessarily an objective for the budding comedians who stood out with their short videos. However, with over 7 million combined followers across their social
Starting point is 00:00:56 media accounts, their love for each other and comedy turned into a story that people wanted to follow. We are going to discuss their story of love and comedy, success and content creation, and where they see their personal and professional lives progressing in the years to come. Chicklet and Millenny, thank you so much for being on Trading Secrets. Yeah. Let's go. Shout out to Chad G.
Starting point is 00:01:17 Chabee T for writing that. It was beautiful. They crushed it for me. Chad GipT with a mix of my man, Stephen. I thought you was about to make us box the way, like, Let's get ready to rumble. Let's get ready to rumble. You did that beautifully.
Starting point is 00:01:32 You got to break the energy, you know what I mean? I appreciate the intro. That was good. You guys bring the energy. All right. Let's go back day one, man. We're taking a step back. So you guys were in the content game way before the content game, what it is today.
Starting point is 00:01:46 So talk to me about before content became a career for you guys. What were you doing professionally and what did you believe your life was going to look like professionally? We'll start with you, Chiklin. Oh, yeah, great. person to start with. So basically, a group of friends around me where they had a rap group, and it was called HBK, and I was just the guy. He was just the cheerleader?
Starting point is 00:02:10 Yeah. He was just their boy, right? You're like the promo guy? Not even. I was just there. I was just the guy that didn't rap, you know? Everybody else did. You were the fan boy.
Starting point is 00:02:21 Yeah. So, and it's crazy the other day I was thinking to Millennia. I'm like, yo, there's one of my boys that always told me I should do videos. And I'd never give them credit for that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, I don't think I've ever mentioned. I was just thinking about it. I'm like, yeah, he always said, yo, do videos, do videos.
Starting point is 00:02:37 But it wasn't until I was like, I'm going to do videos to help promote their music. So I even wrote like, I'm going to get a lot of followers to help promote their music. What year was that? 2012 when I wrote that. Okay, so when you wrote that, was that your job helping them with videos? No, it was nothing. It was just, I wanted to. I wanted to put my own content out, but gain a following with my own content and then push to help pushing up.
Starting point is 00:03:03 Got it. That was the idea. That was your idea. He wanted to be a part of the team. Gotcha. Okay. So that was kind of the vision. That was the vision.
Starting point is 00:03:08 What were you doing for work then in 2000? Right then, right there, I was delivering IKEA furniture. Okay. And how much were you making doing that? $50 a day, guaranteed. Okay. And so then in the content game, you have this idea in 2012. When did you actually start, like, pushing content in a way that you can make money off it?
Starting point is 00:03:26 2017. 17. So from 2012 to 2017, tell me a little bit about what else you did professionally to make money. Okay, so what happened was me and Malenny get together during this time because she wasn't around in 2012 and I start involving her into the content, more like kind of vlog. Before I would do, it was 15 seconds when I first started. So I'll do kind of like almost like a 15 second bit.
Starting point is 00:03:54 I'll make up a story, something like that. And then it switched over to us doing content. I was like, okay, real life now. A little less stories. And then we worked for Parks and Recreation, both of us together. She worked in a different area, though, than I did. So it wasn't together, but same time. And during that run, people were coming up to me when I was working in the parks.
Starting point is 00:04:17 Mind you, they have a lot of followers. I think I had like 3K, 2K, IG only. And certain people were like, I literally, when I noticed it, and I'll never forget this date, a restaurant and the guy was like, don't you make content? And I was like, yeah. It's like, Chickler, right? I'm like, yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:31 Mind you, I have two, I think it was 2,000 followers, not 3K. And I crossed the street, went to the deli to grab a sort of in deli. He was like, yo, I know you. And I'm like, oh, what? This is cool. So that was kind of the spark right there. It was like, oh, wait. There's something here.
Starting point is 00:04:46 Yeah, this might be working. Yeah. The job lets us go in August, I think, September, because it was seasonal. Yeah, it was like a summer job. And I was looking for. for a job for a couple months. Yeah. And it wasn't until I told Melaine like, you know what, I want to do this content.
Starting point is 00:05:05 This is what I really want to do. I think November we did a video that did the best out of all of them. And I was like, yo, we got to do this. I love it. But I was like, damn, I need money because I wanted to pay for promo. It wasn't until I said, yo, I need a job to do this to three, four jobs hit me like the next day. I love it. Let me ask you this though.
Starting point is 00:05:23 And then, Melanie, I'm coming to you. Before you started content. What do you think the most is that you made an annual basis from work? There's a reason for this question. I'll say weekly, the most I probably made was close to $1,000 now. Okay, so like $52,000 a year. No, no, no, that was just one, like, that was like... One week, right?
Starting point is 00:05:40 One week, that was the most I made that. I've never made that again, though. It was like $50 to $75 a day. Okay. And that was with IKEA. But before, when I got the next job, I worked as a dishwasher, and I was making $300 a week. I love this story. I mean, so let's say it's like 25 to then 40,000.
Starting point is 00:05:59 The reason I ask that question, first of all, I love that, like, you go from washing dishes to now fast forward in 2025, part of, you know, Cassida, streaming university, killing it, just absolutely crushing. It's a beautiful story. But I think a lot of people back home, they struggle with, like, making the leap of faith into a new career because it's hard to do so. For you, when you did it, were you just like, okay, when I start content, I just got to make more than a thousand a week. Did you have that in mind at all, or money not even? You're just like, I don't care. I'm just going to spend everything I got until I make it. No, I thought I could do both.
Starting point is 00:06:32 Okay, okay. I actually thought I needed the job table to keep content creation. Gotcha, okay. So when I went into work, it wasn't like I looked at it as, damn, I have to go to work. It was kind of exciting because I needed that to do what I wanted to do. Yeah. And it was a dope venture for me. I'm like, okay, because the reason I did dishwashing was because it was close to the house.
Starting point is 00:06:54 And it was Monday through Friday. So I was like, oh my God, weekends I'll be free. I could go, so I didn't really get, I mean, I know there's people that need, you know, money for, I lived with my mom at the time. So I just needed to pay her rent, which was like, she charged me like 400 a month. Yeah. So I was like, I, you know, that's one week in a couple days, but as long as I get dad off, I'm good. And then I started doing like story promos and stuff too to help. So we tried to do that route and I was trying to come up with ways for people like to put their songs on my playlist, you know,
Starting point is 00:07:24 Mind you, I had like 5K followers at the time and stuff like that. But I was trying to make it work. Yeah. Like I didn't want to just give up. Like I really wanted to do this. Also, I was younger, you know, so there's a little difference for me of people. Sure. But I, dang, this is crazy.
Starting point is 00:07:39 I go out. I talk in circles. Yeah. Right? Yeah. Because one of the advice I tell people now is like when people be like, oh, I'm tired, you know, like, so they can't do content creation. Sure. Focus on themselves because they're tired.
Starting point is 00:07:52 I'm like. ain't you tired when you're going to work? Yeah, it's true. Take a work approach to it. You're tired when you show up for work. Yeah. Just do it and be tired. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:03 Just do it and be tired. I was going off that day. I was like, you was ever hungry and didn't eat? Yeah. Because you literally can't like, you know, like right now, I was hungry. We're shooting. Sure.
Starting point is 00:08:11 Just keep going. Just don't eat. I like it. Right? Do it and do it tired. That's good. Yeah, just do it tired. I like that's a trading secret thing.
Starting point is 00:08:19 I've used this product for my businesses and I use. this product when I support other businesses. Support for today's episode comes from Square. The system powering literally like half the places I go. If you've ever tapped to pay and thought, whoa, that was fast, it was probably Square. Visit Square to get started because the right tools make all the difference. All right, Melanne, let's go to you. So before you went content full-time, what was like your career path and what were the earnings of that career path? My career path was in dance. I was working at a company called Dance Wave and I was doing
Starting point is 00:09:45 outreach. Okay. So I would bring dance into the public school system. It's cool. And so I was, I was making, like, what, fucking... A buck 50 a week. A buck 50 a week. I was making, it was a part-time job. And I was probably making like 12,000 a year. Wow. Like, I wasn't making shit.
Starting point is 00:10:00 Yeah. And then I picked up working at an MRI office, got fired from that. And I also did a little bit of telemarketing that I can disclose of. But so I had like a few random jobs, like, trying to make money. I always struggled financially. While we was in the concert, my fault was cutting in the movie. Yeah. While we was creating content.
Starting point is 00:10:20 Okay, got it. these jobs yeah yeah when you think about like where you are today and obviously you're having a ton of success and you think about back then you know was there ever a moment or a story that you're thinking like financially we're in we're in trouble now like when you look back at those days do you is there anything that you look back at from a money perspective and like how did we make it you know what the funny not funny thing is but when I didn't have money I wasn't concerned about the fact that I didn't have money because I was so young. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:53 Because I was like, this is only, like, temporarily that I'm going to be this broke. Yeah, yeah. So I was never stressing about it. I also didn't pay rent, though. Okay, got. I just had my credit card bills to pay. Yeah. Probably stupid of me to even think that way.
Starting point is 00:11:09 Not to be concerned. Yeah, I love it. Well, go back to 2017. Now you're working in the content creation space. You're like, let's do this. When do things really start to pop off? When do you start to notice, like, wait a second big like this is real money like this is way outpacing anything i've ever done
Starting point is 00:11:26 professionally so what happened was making 300 a week yeah shooting if you go back down my page actually you'll see me in an apron and a dishwashing hat on yeah making videos there yeah so you'll see it it's there so november i go yeah i want to do this yep january i'm like i were doing this yeah i started submitting my videos to world star People don't know, to this day, they have an email that you could submit. Yeah. Videos too. So I used to submit every day.
Starting point is 00:11:56 Interesting. And they'll pick it up. And I started gaining a following, like 5, 10K a month. I was gaining followers. By like January, I already got hit to work. I didn't, remember I said I took the job to pay for promo? I ended up didn't have to because World Star picked up my video. Wow.
Starting point is 00:12:12 And it was picking it up so frequently that I was growing. Yeah. So by July, I had 30,000 followers. Okay. And this is back then. you know yeah and my uncle was like yo july because it was like the end of july he said you didn't really gain as much as you've been and i was like it took me faster to get to 30k than to 3,000 followers yeah i'll be i yeah yeah i want to say two days later i went from 30k to 80 000
Starting point is 00:12:39 two days yeah how we we dropped two bangers back to back one what were they and then i Hold, excuse me, my fault. And then I went private. So that was the source, though. Because then people had to follow you. Then they had to go see what was going on on my page. Interesting. So when I saw a bunch of, like, blogs posts, that was like, oh, I'm going private.
Starting point is 00:12:59 So that's what made the jump. Because now people can't just view, they have to actually follow. They have to follow me. Would you recommend people do that today or no? No, because I don't think following even matters as much. Yeah. It's more of, like, just how many impressions and views and engagement. Okay.
Starting point is 00:13:14 You can tell them more videos, though. My phone. Yeah, what were the two bangers that you dropped? The banger was, he put, he had a Doucet cup and he was putting Arizona ice tea in it. That was one of them in the bottle. And I was telling him like, yo, you're a bum for doing that, like, what are you doing? And then the other one, we were in the club. Wasn't it that one?
Starting point is 00:13:33 We did. We dropped two. We shot them both the same day. One of them was me wearing, this is where fanny packs became in there. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So she was like, why are you rocking a fanny pack? And I was like, PAB rock, rest in peace. He's rocking it.
Starting point is 00:13:46 Rockin' it, everybody's rocking it, that hit. And then the next day, I went and dropped the, I was pouring Arizona iced tea into the Duce bottle, because it looks a similar color. And she's like, they're going to be able to tell, and I was like, just put the video on black and white. They won't know what it is.
Starting point is 00:14:02 And that shit, like... He had a front foot of graham. That one, that's the one that ripped. Unbelievable. Okay. So you go... Cardi Beaver posted that one, right? It's Cardi Beat, 50 cent. Holy shit. Shade room. Like, every vlog you can think of, like,
Starting point is 00:14:16 Even Mass Appeal hit us up to do an interview because of that. Damn. Yeah. All right. We have put Cardi B song in the background. Okay, so once you start popping, 2017, like around how much are you making off content? Look, so this is one weekend. That video hits.
Starting point is 00:14:33 Duce hits me up. Memphis Bleak. Yep. They have a Ducey podcast. Yeah. For the... Promos. Oh, you're good.
Starting point is 00:14:41 Yeah. You fired away, man. So they hit me up. Yo, we got this podcast. want you to come on. Boom, I go on during that weekend. Great, fire. I've never done that like this. I get a hosting hit up. So a hosting hits me up. Yeah, we got $3.50 for you in a bottle. I'm like $3.50. I'll make this in a week. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I make this in an hour, two hours. Yeah. So I went, I said, all, cool. I was excited. Like, yo, we just drank for
Starting point is 00:15:07 free. Like, we went to the club and didn't spend money. Like, I was so excited. It's 10 hours of dishwasher, 20 hours of dishwash. Seriously. Yeah. 40. Oh, yeah. A whole week. What I used to make? Yeah, 40. 40. So I made that.
Starting point is 00:15:22 Go back to work that Monday. Somebody from Rock Nation reaches out again like, yo, we want you to come up for a different reason this time. And I'm like, okay, so my uncle, he's like, yo, you want me to go with you? Because I was like, I don't know what they can talk about. He used to manage before rappers and stuff before me. So I said, yeah, come up with me. The whole time they're up there talking, I have no idea what they're talking about.
Starting point is 00:15:43 I'm here like... What are you about? God, I invited him with me. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He goes, okay, they want you on title. They're asking nine episodes, eight episodes, two minutes. Yeah. Five grand, I asked for ten.
Starting point is 00:15:58 I'm like, oh, they give me five. They did it for free. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's how much I wanted to do it. He's like, nah, he asked for ten. They gave us seven. So we already got seven Gs right there. More hostings are hitting us up.
Starting point is 00:16:09 I went back to work the next day and I never showed back. Wow. I love that. Well, Lenny, were you still working at this time? at what point did you quit from content earnings probably like a year and a half after that okay what did you have a story or thought that like did something happen like that to you where you're like I'm done with work this just happened the what happened the reason why I ended up like stopping the work because I love the work yeah I love like bringing dance to the public schools
Starting point is 00:16:37 that's how I started getting to dance so it was like I love doing it but it just became like I couldn't give 100 to eat like to me and to the company yeah and so I was like no I need to I need to choose me at the end of the day so at that point I was like yeah I'm gonna walk away from this company at this point and that's really what it was like I just I couldn't it was costing us like yeah opportunities and I'm like all right I need to be at work at this time and we can't go to certain things because of it was it was conflicting okay so then you go full time this is like 2000, like 19-ish, 18-ish, right? And now you're, now you guys are ripping.
Starting point is 00:17:14 At what point do you start to make like life-changing money? And what does that look like? Well, I'm not going to lot for us. It was recently. No. I'm like last week. Not at all because honestly, life-changing for us was that first week that I was just telling you about. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:36 No, that's a good point. Like, like, it was life-changing immediately. Yeah. Yeah. So it was like. Then when I got my fashion over deal too, I was getting consistent money. Like a year later, you know, we were, but we was doing hostings making five, ten Gs just for an hour at a club.
Starting point is 00:17:52 This is eight years ago. Yeah. So it was like, oh my God. Yeah. So this was life changing for us. It was just like, I don't want to say I regret, but just when you live life fast like that, we was, I feel like I wasn't in the moment. Like I didn't even appreciate that till recently actually.
Starting point is 00:18:09 Yeah. of that stuff like I appreciate it of course I think at the time like I never thought back to it so recently like wow this was yeah crazy like what's right I can't believe this and I remember back then though I used to think like off of Instagram off of content like I used to think I was a loser for that yeah yeah well and that's crazy that is crazy and now it's like people are looking up to you kids want to be you and like think about how far that has come like what an unbelievable moment But when you're thinking about like the dishwasher days of 300 bucks a week and you look at where you are today, what's now your new dream?
Starting point is 00:18:46 Like, do you have a goal of like, I want to make this much a year or I want to earn this much on a certain deal? Like, where's the threshold today now knowing like how far you've come? My dream, I need to hit a mill. Okay. The mill. That's the goal. You're on that.
Starting point is 00:19:01 And I want like, I want like, well, I want over a meal. Because my real dream is to have a campaign with, like a nationwide campaign with a company. Do you mean, do you mean you want to deal that's worth a million or you want to hit him? Yeah. That's what you mean, right? Yeah. It was kind of both. You've got a million, babe.
Starting point is 00:19:21 I don't know if you ever look back. You paid a billion, a couple of others. I'd be spending money, that's why. How about you? I mean spending money. What's your, like when you look about an annual amount you want to hit and or a big deal, what's it look like? See, so mine, of course, money is a thing. It wasn't so recently that I was able to express that,
Starting point is 00:19:42 for those who get annoyed the way I answer questions, fuck you. That's a great clip right there. That's the teaser for sure. Because it's crazy because recently, like, Millenni would tell me like, yo, you always want more, you always want more. And I didn't know how to express that it wasn't more money. It was I like to create and I need to create more. Interesting.
Starting point is 00:20:03 But I didn't know how to express that before. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know what I'm saying? Yeah, I got you. It wasn't until recently I was like sitting on the couch. I'm like, I need to do something. She's like, yeah, we good. And I'm like, I like doing this.
Starting point is 00:20:13 Yeah, yeah, yeah. And if I keep suppressing it, and it's not, I'm not saying it's her or anything. It was me not knowing. Yeah. Like, the other day we ride on the bike and I'm excited, but I call myself a homebody. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm like, maybe home is just my safe place and I'm supposed to be outside. Sure.
Starting point is 00:20:28 Enjoying this. And it's just, it's crazy how like I can't, in my mind, I contradict it. Right. So I'm like just on the couch, mind you, I love creating, but I'm not. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, it's so weird, like putting myself in the depression because I'm not doing what I love doing. So you're then more focused because the question's about how much you dream to make, but you're just like, I dream to create more.
Starting point is 00:20:47 Or do you have a number you want to hit? I do have a number I want to hit. Honestly, what I really want out of everything in this place is whatever number takes care of my family where they don't have to do stuff, but I also really want a house too. Yeah. So it's like, I really, really want a house. Yeah. But to be honest, with me with money, I don't prioritize saving, putting it.
Starting point is 00:21:06 Like, I've never had my money work for itself. And, you know, that's why I asked you. Like, yo, please, because we make enough that we should be all right. Yeah. We should have a house. Got you. But I don't. Like, I just, you know, I think my problem is I try to do different avenues.
Starting point is 00:21:22 Yeah. And when I go into, like, let's say if I do podcast, then I want all these cameras right now. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And then I'll quit. Yeah, yeah. And I wasted 50 grand. And then you didn't even do it. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I got you.
Starting point is 00:21:31 So that's, like, my bad thing, but I would love for that number to be on a deal? Yeah, on a deal or an annual basis? Annual basis, I'm going like $2 million a year. Two million a year, and how much on a deal is, like, your goal right now? Like, I want to get this on a deal. What's that goal? I got to do a mill. All right, got to do a mill.
Starting point is 00:21:52 There you go. You heard it right here. All right, Melanie, let me ask you this. Of all the platforms you're on, which one do you earn the most money? And so you guys are on, just like you're on Instagram, You're working on Snapchat, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube, and you're doing streaming now. So of all those, where do you earn the most? I'm going to say Instagram.
Starting point is 00:22:11 Because of brand deals. Because of brand deals. And how about yourself? Without brand deals, Facebook. Okay, Facebook. Interesting. I got to be honest with you guys. I'm not making this up.
Starting point is 00:22:21 This past weekend, someone thought I was 25. I swear, I swear, I swear. I think my trading secret is OneSkin. Starting point is 00:23:36 You were just in, both you two were in the Streamer University. For someone that's never heard of Streamer University with Kaisenet, just explain what it is. Jekyllik, give me your explanation. What is it? Streamer University was basically a big networking for streamers. Okay. To help streamers gain an audience.
Starting point is 00:23:53 You know what I'm saying? Yeah. So that's what it was. a lot of people were, I said the only backlash I seen was there was too many big creators, but to be honest, I feel like if there wasn't, then there's no networking happening. Do you get paid to go
Starting point is 00:24:05 into streaming university? No. Okay. And so let's go with you, Melody. You're in the streaming university. What was your biggest learning lesson from that? The biggest learning lesson was how to work, honestly. And what was that takeaway? So, watching like, watching different
Starting point is 00:24:21 creators, like, really like, push themselves and work. and like making content. They weren't sleeping, boat. They weren't sleeping. So they're just literally working 24-7. They'll sleep for like two hours. Like Talil, he was one of, he got Valley Victorian.
Starting point is 00:24:38 He literally was streaming till like six in the morning. We'll go to sleep for a little bit and wake up and be in class at that breakfast by 9 o'clock on time. What is he streaming? So for anyone that doesn't know what streaming is, it's your 24-7, you got the camera up and people are engaging, what is, what are you streaming that long? Is it just life? So basically Twitch was known for gaming. Yeah. I don't know who brought it to the table, IRL, which is in real life. It's basically like vlogging, but in real time. 24-7 live. That's it. Now when you're on, when you're on Twitch and you're gaming,
Starting point is 00:25:15 is that considered streaming. Yeah, that's streaming. Anything live is streaming. And how you make money off Twitch? Like when you're playing an online game or you're streaming, how you make it money off? So one of the biggest is ad revenue. You could actually click. You want maximum ads, recommended ads, minimum ads to run for your people to see. And for them, if they don't want to see ads, they'll play for a subscription.
Starting point is 00:25:37 Okay. Subscription comes in tiers. You could pay for months. You could pay for this. And it was $5 to $7 right now. Yeah. It is. So you can make money off subs,
Starting point is 00:25:46 which when people sub to you, they get emotes, which is basically your own emojis that they use in the chat, and they don't get no ads at all. And so how much could, like, how much do you make off streaming? Me right now, this month, I'm doing about almost 3K. 3K a month. Okay, gotcha.
Starting point is 00:26:04 This month. Last month we did 10K. Okay. We took a break and that's, that backfired. Okay. What is the, so it's interesting to just hear about, like, how much monthly comes in from that and how that's going to continue to grow. I want to ask you this, Melody, what is the hardest part about working with your husband 24-7?
Starting point is 00:26:22 Because that's like a tough thing. How much time we got. Yeah. Well, it's just, that's what, it's a hard in this space, creators that there's a, there's a couple staying at this house that works together. That's hard. Like, what are some of the biggest challenges you have to undergo? The biggest challenge, I think it's the fact that we have different ways of working. Interesting. He has a very, like, intentional. Like, if I want, if I have this goal, what are we placing? Like, what are we doing? Yeah. Like, and really be mindful of it. Yeah, yeah. actively make those moves in order to reach your goal. I'm very like go with the flow. You're like checkbox. Like let's do this. Let's go. Let's get this done.
Starting point is 00:27:00 Even the way he went about like streaming. He made connections. He had a goal about streaming. He made connections. He gifted people. I didn't know Kai before streaming you. Yeah. Wow. That's wild. Now you guys are boys. He really worked his way to make those goals actively.
Starting point is 00:27:18 And so I'm very like go with the flow and kind of thing. sometimes we'll clash in that sense. Yeah. And, you know, the fact that the other, the other thing that... That sounds like the way he's supposed to go, though, right? Yeah. I come up with the goal.
Starting point is 00:27:33 You go with the flow. I have the flow. That works that. I'll say the biggest thing is, of working together is not knowing how to separate work from the relationship. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, that's what I was going to say. I would say...
Starting point is 00:27:45 Do you script your arguments that you guys do? That's got to be scripted, right? Or did it happen and you replay it? When we first started, it wasn't an argument, I would say something to turn it into, like, to see how she would respond to it. Okay, okay. A little bit of both. It's a little both. Like, sometimes we'll play off of each other and we'll be like, aye, we need to record that.
Starting point is 00:28:05 We need to redo that. But it wouldn't be an argument, though. Yeah. Like, usually when we're playing it off each other, we'll just be funny and then we'll turn it into like, aye, you gotta be mad at that this time. Like, that one, you gotta be, like, why would I do some shit like that? Even like, sometimes she'll say some shit. Yeah. Like, okay, I'll be that person.
Starting point is 00:28:21 Gotcha. You know, to go with the... I like it. So you're like, like, you change the roles based on, like, what you got. Like, sometimes you're the good guy. Sometimes bad cop, good cop. Like, you got to play into it. We try not to do that as much anymore, though.
Starting point is 00:28:33 Yeah, I get that. It's like, oh. What about, like, so I think one thing that's really hard of managing work and then money and now money's flowing in is like, is a couple. Like, how, do you guys have hard, fast rules on how you manage money, how you manage expenses? Do you guys do your own, like, individual accounts and strategies? Spend your shit. Spend that money, you die.
Starting point is 00:28:52 Just make sure you get it back. We're really not good at it because. Because of that. Mine is more, I'll take care of this part. So if you're saying like podcasts, if I started a podcast, I'll take care of this part and she'll come on. But then Malay will buy the table, the sofas, and like. The decor.
Starting point is 00:29:16 Yeah. You know, then she'll take care of the, she'll like the shit. I'll take care of the how it looks. Gotcha. So we'll spend a lot on dumb shit and then be like, okay, what happens? Does money ever become like a point of tension in your relationship? For me, never. Wow.
Starting point is 00:29:35 I don't think for me either. I think the, and this would be me, would be me wanting her to be more mindful that I am spending the money on the, like I'm doing that. I think. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Not really a problem with just like, yo, just. Before you again, that cost this. Like, I don't want you everything, I'm not doing nothing. Like, or I'm, oh, where'd your money go?
Starting point is 00:29:56 I'm like, look, it wasn't on just, I buy a lot of clothes. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, like, it wasn't just that. Look, I got this camera over here, you know? Like, it wasn't that. But money for me, you know, I think you learned it too. You kind of didn't know that already. It was like, I feel like if you stress money, then your mind keeps you away from it.
Starting point is 00:30:14 I like that. What's one thing, and we'll start with you in the way. What is one thing you overspend on and you know you overspend on? on it and you're like I'm not going to stop I was going to say Amazon but you didn't out for sure eating out like where's your favorite restaurant where's your favorite go-to I got like five of them let's hear him go give us the run out don't boil but they're not bad though because like but then this a thing $50 for a family meal yeah yeah yeah yeah isn't bad but then you're doing that every night yeah it adds up that's what seven times a week yeah but we also ordered the meal before that too
Starting point is 00:30:49 That's 50 just for that one meal All right, all right Then you got breakfast, lunch, and dinner How about you? Like, Uber Eats definitely got like Uber E's definitely got like Uber E's fucking Uber E's. I get crushed on Uber Eats.
Starting point is 00:30:59 All right, chicken, how about you? What is one thing you overspend on? You know you overspend on it, you won't change. Oh, I won't change. The clothes. Okay. What's the most expensive piece of clothing you've ever bought? But that's the thing, though.
Starting point is 00:31:10 Maybe like 2,000, 3,000? What was it? Like clothing? Material counts or no? Oh, yeah. Oh, so like 20,000, 25. Wow. But.
Starting point is 00:31:19 It's enough. And our wedding. The wedding you can't jacked that was last year. How much was the wedding? Oh, honey. A little under a hundred, which wasn't bad. Did you guys have sponsorships for the wedding? Nope.
Starting point is 00:31:31 Well, we had, yeah, I had sponsorships with it. Not sponsorships. Well, brand partnerships. No. Well, like I collaborated with the decorator. Trade. Yeah, we did a trade. But over a hundred grand on the wedding.
Starting point is 00:31:43 That's an expensive one. A little under. How many people were there? 120. Okay. Gotcha. Yeah, 127. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:50 My shit is, it's not that I spend. Mine is a quantity thing. Okay. So it's not like I bought one shirt that was $3,000. You just buy a bunch of. I just buy a bunch and I won't stop, though. Yes, and he'll buy the same thing. Like, he'll have like the same fucking, bro.
Starting point is 00:32:05 At least, I bought at least 15 and 20. We have a habit. Well, not a habit. We're out of sight, out of mine people. Yep. And so if he can't see these shorts, but he also won't look for them. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:17 He would order them And then I'm like, you know you have like Two other pairs of this I do that She wears the same sweater Nah, not too much now This should be dirty stained I'm like why don't you just buy
Starting point is 00:32:30 Ten of them And it'll all be clean There you go Do you guys see the arguments happen in real time I'm telling you that's why it's such a good content All right We're going to play a game okay So one of our sponsors is Ubiko
Starting point is 00:32:42 This Ubiko Paskey is the original Paskey undefeated since day one modern authentication, easy to use. Now, here's the questions we're going to ask. This protects against cybersecurity, and it keeps you safe. So my question to you. We'll start with you, Chiklet. Have you ever fallen for a fishing scheme where they fish you?
Starting point is 00:33:00 Yeah. Okay, what was it? Tell us. You said that's so defeated. He's like, yeah. It was saying, I was almost twice. But one of them, I think I was getting got, but it was only for like $2 every time.
Starting point is 00:33:12 Two dollars every time. Yeah, but it was like, I don't know how they didn't get more Maybe they did, maybe my money isn't getting Maybe I'm just being hacked this whole time Yeah, yeah, too box That's the funniest fishing game I've ever seen So what they do is they'll, I order a lot of stuff
Starting point is 00:33:28 Yeah So they'll send over a USPS Okay Saying you have the wrong address You gotta pay $2 to fix the address So we're not delivering it to you And you go on this website That looks exactly like the USPS website
Starting point is 00:33:40 Yep And I'll just put the $2 in To change the address and then I realized one time I didn't order anything and I got the two bucks later you got screwed
Starting point is 00:33:52 this is like five six times so they got ten bucks but I'm putting my credit card information so I don't understand why it didn't oh so then they got the credit card but I don't understand why they wasn't spending them on shit
Starting point is 00:34:03 maybe they were they were just nice scammers sounds like the worst fish trouble they were like we're good with the two dollars I can't tell them this is a bit or he's like it's like the best scammers ever that's why I appreciate them so when they seven sometimes hearing
Starting point is 00:34:14 I'll just give them another $2 because like, yo. It's just because. All right, Melody, have you ever been fished? I don't think I have been fished. All right, I like that. Good for you. All right, let's keep, yeah, let's keep this ubiquit going here. About cybersecurity, I want to ask you, what is something that keeps you secure in who you are?
Starting point is 00:34:33 Like, when you're losing insecurity or you're feeling insecure, what is something that keeps you secure? We'll start with you, Chicklet. Oh, you know what I'm about to say, right? What's that? Me? My wife. Oh, that's so sweet. I sent it to you in my head
Starting point is 00:34:46 That better be your way of Melanie, how about you? What's up to that keeps you sick? I can tell you this right now. I can tell you right now It's not me. I'd be like, what the fuck you're doing? All right.
Starting point is 00:34:56 I do keep it secure. I do, though. Just the other day. What did you talk about? I'd be like, yeah, I don't get you, Melaine Cruz. Oh, yeah, yeah, you did that. Okay, let's do this.
Starting point is 00:35:05 So we're on the relationship side. What is one thing you do to make your wife feel secure? I stop liking other one. Yeah. And to hope, like, that... Oh, you're getting the look right now. No.
Starting point is 00:35:21 To make her feel secure. Shut up and give a real answer. Don't... It's like a 24-7 bit. Don't give that answer. What are you talking about? I'm gonna keep it stacking. I was like...
Starting point is 00:35:33 I buy her flowers. I know that may seem like... Yeah. How does that make your wife feel secure? It makes her feel, I think, that I'm being mindful that, oh, you need flowers. Yeah. Here, I love you. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:46 Because, you know, for her, that's what it means? Yeah, I love that. Lettie, what is one thing you do? What I do is I compliment his jewelry. Oh, I'm like, wow. Oh, shit, we did a rap battle before this, by the way, and he was busted on my white teeth being fake, so I had to say that. I said, that was a nice ring, but you got fake bling. It's not fake?
Starting point is 00:36:03 I was just had to take a dick. No. So I definitely made him feel insecure. Now we're going back. I said to him, his teeth are really white. That's true. And then he responded, you said, my. off tea for fake. I'm like, what?
Starting point is 00:36:16 Which they are, by the way. It was a red. Dr. Omar, Tampa Bay. That's doctor. They look good as hell. Scaling your business requires the right expertise at the right time. You told you we broke. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:45 Bro, you guys making millions. Yeah, and we spend it. That's what we try to tell you. So that's how you feel secure with your money. You spend it. Oh, she looks at me. No, I put, I started doing what I started doing, I put, because I'm trying to figure out, I want my money to make my money for me.
Starting point is 00:38:04 Of course, yeah. But I don't know what to invest in right now. And so instead of just like keeping it in my bank account and, like spending it that way. I've moved it to a high yield savings account for at least so I can like five months. She made six dollars. No, I didn't. Now she can pay your fishing.
Starting point is 00:38:23 $600. I made $600. Let's go. We did the math. No, I'll make $200 a month. No, you don't. We did the math. Bro, I'm telling you.
Starting point is 00:38:32 I'm going to pull my shit up right now. 4% on a year. It's not 4% a month. Yeah, 4% a year. So I make like two bands with what I currently have. So divide that by 12. Hold on, I'm going to make sure I'm wrong. I want to be wrong on this part.
Starting point is 00:38:50 Yeah, you're going to be wrong. I told you. It's in real time. You need to learn. But that's what I've been doing. Making money on your money. Being smart with your investment. Yeah, trying to be smarter at like and only putting in a certain amount.
Starting point is 00:39:03 She's right? What is something you do to feel secure with your financials? I spend it. Okay. Hey, maybe that's it. Maybe you feel secure. You've earned it. So you're spending it.
Starting point is 00:39:12 That's a good answer. Shakira, rocking what I'm... Rocking what you're doing. It's what I spent it all. I love it. All right, here's where we got to wrap with a trading secret. We learned about weird career, starting and dishwashing and making three, 400 bucks a week. Now making hundreds of thousands of dollars, millions off content, right?
Starting point is 00:39:28 No, not millions. Not millions. Not millions. Okay. Hundreds of thousands. Yes. Soon to be millions. All right. But we got to get a trading secret.
Starting point is 00:39:35 It could be a life advice, financial advice, personal advice. Chicklet, we'll start with you. It's your trading secret. You can't read it in a textbook or learn from a professor. They can only hear from your experience. Oh, so you don't want me to read what it says right there? No, no, ignore that. Okay.
Starting point is 00:39:46 Trading secret. Yeah, yeah, ignore that. Ciclet, Q. Prompter. Don't say that. By the way, if you was paying attention, I gave off multiple. But what's my favorite one? Damn, I got a bunch of these written.
Starting point is 00:40:00 Actually, I actually told my chat to say this the other day. And this may not be a secret or anything, but I feel like people need to hear it. We're not perfect, but we great. Right? Because I feel like people, it's either black or white, it's 100 or zero. There's no in between. Yeah. So I feel like people don't notice that like, hey, we're not perfect, but you're still great.
Starting point is 00:40:22 I feel like perfect to people means great. I like that. You know? So I was just like, yo, we're not perfect, but we are great. And, yo, bro, no cap. My chat started writing it to each other. I was like, yo, say it in the mirror. I was having like a deep talk with them.
Starting point is 00:40:35 Yeah. And people started DMing me. Like, yo, I listened to you. I had the best stream ever. and it was like 2 a.m. And the person was like, y'all, I couldn't believe that. I don't think that's a trading secret,
Starting point is 00:40:46 but I think that's something to help feel confident for the moment. Like, don't be too harsh on yourself. I'm very harsh on myself. Yeah. But being consistent. Mm-hmm. I like it.
Starting point is 00:40:55 Top tier. Yeah. Best trading secret ever. Yeah. Don't be perfect. Be great. Be great. Be consistent.
Starting point is 00:41:01 Yeah. I like that. That's really good. That's good. That's deep. All right. Damn. Mine.
Starting point is 00:41:07 We need some clean eggs here. Mine, I think the trade. The greatest secret that I want to give is to believe in yourself. And that even when you, even when it doesn't look like, even when your life doesn't look the way you think it looks, to believe in yourself that it will look the way you want it to look. That's good. So it's all, like, it's all about the journey.
Starting point is 00:41:30 No, because, I love that because it's all about the journey. You said it. What I tell people recently, too, was like, you think you're not getting the rewards you ask for because it doesn't look like what you ask for. Yeah. You know what I'm saying? I like that. Like, they can keep sending you, it's right in front of you,
Starting point is 00:41:48 but it doesn't look the way you thought it would. So you keep ignoring it. Right. And pushing it away. Interesting. But it's right there's right there. Didn't you have? You guys are getting deep now.
Starting point is 00:41:57 No, I like that. That's the story. You know, I'm sober two years. Yeah, congratulations. I'd be aware of shit now. So I'd just be like intuitive with myself. Like, wait, well, I feel this way. Wait, what's happening?
Starting point is 00:42:07 Yo, you great. Like, you know, shit tell you, I'm harsh as hell on myself. Yeah. So, like, saying that when I'm talking to my chat, I'm taking my own advice. He's like, I'm just speaking, but I'm like, oh, shit, what I'm saying? It's fire right now. Wait, one last question. Since you went sober, have you seen financially, professionally, personally your life grow?
Starting point is 00:42:23 Immediately. Wow. I proposed. I don't think I would have proposed if I was still drinking. Wow. I don't think I would have noticed. I think there was a decline happening without content and stuff because I didn't care. It was like, ah, we just do it whenever we feel like it.
Starting point is 00:42:36 And you didn't care what you think that was the alcohol? Yeah. I didn't notice that I wasn't caring. You know what I'm saying? I just wasn't aware. Sure. So I just didn't know what I didn't know. It's just blind spots everywhere.
Starting point is 00:42:49 I always when it, because right now obviously sobriety is like a very trending topic. You've seen so many people do it and talk about the life changes. Do you think, like was it getting ridiculous? Like were you overconsuming or was it just social? No. Like how much were you, like it was? Well, two things. I'm always social.
Starting point is 00:43:06 Yeah. So that was one. But it was, I was, I was, I was Odean. It was becoming, it was just becoming my, oh, I'm in this mood, drink. Like any mood I was in is like, oh, it's time to drink. You can be happy. Oh, yeah, I want to feel happier. Yeah, sad, mad, I'm sad.
Starting point is 00:43:20 It becomes like your right hand. Yeah, it was, it became that. It wasn't becoming that, became that. And it was to point, my body was like, please. Yeah. And I have to listen. Yeah. Like, okay.
Starting point is 00:43:31 Wow. This is what we need to change. And I saw changes immediately, like, yeah. Three months. The third month was the hardest month for me because it felt like, oh, I quit for so long already that if it gets bad again, I could just stop again. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:45 But I didn't go back, though. Thank God. But that's where it became like, felt like somebody was trying to trick me. Yeah. You know, like somebody in my mind. I know, yeah. You could just do it again.
Starting point is 00:43:55 Go ahead, bro. Yeah, it's like the good guy. Yeah, you quit and I didn't. And I won't. Yeah. That's my shit. Malad, when he, did you urge him, did you push him to stop drinking?
Starting point is 00:44:04 Or were you just there to support that? I was there to support that, but I was an enabler, low-key, in the beginning. She's pushing me to slow down. Mm-hmm. I was trying to help him find a balance. Gotcha. But it became clear to me after like, he goes, he'll quit and he'll drink again and he'll like start with beer and then drink wine, but then that turned into a bottle and then
Starting point is 00:44:25 a benda and so I'm always about balance in life, but it became clear to me that he couldn't do that. Yeah. That it was literally all in nothing. for him. Yeah. So when he was like, I'm quitting, like, that's it, like, for real. I was supported him in it.
Starting point is 00:44:44 Like, people would be like, oh, let's take shots. Like, Chikala, you could take a shot. I'm like, no, he can't. Good for you. Yeah. I'm like, no. I know I couldn't, though. I didn't want to, bro.
Starting point is 00:44:53 It was so much good that came out of this that even like, I just don't see the point anymore. Yeah. Like even like, oh, you could drink for a weekend. I'm like, you're good. For what? Yeah. To be drunk. Like, I don't even like the person I was when I was drunk.
Starting point is 00:45:05 I don't like the way I felt the day after I don't even like like who is that I felt now I feel like I was being fake Interesting because it was somebody else when I was drinking Wow whether it was just being more confident It still wasn't me it wasn't it was somebody else was the alcohol yeah you know what I'm saying so it's like I felt fake and I don't like Yeah a little detached from yourself yeah yeah so now it's like no lie when I first quit we went to this Transformers red carpet yeah yeah but after there was like I have to party I'm like who huge directors are there yeah And I was just like, I didn't know how to talk to anybody. Because you weren't, you didn't have alcohol. I wasn't drinking.
Starting point is 00:45:40 And I was like, there's no way. I can't do it. Mind you, in high school, after high school, I was, I was outgoing. So I'm here nervous and I'm like, no way. You're using alcohol as a coping night. Yo, but it was so fired to just be in real time and witness that I was being pussy. Yeah. It was like, damn, I can't believe it.
Starting point is 00:45:59 But it was dope to realize it because, bro, I just have anxiety and depression. And I don't have none of that. I mean, I mean, I was like, I can't believe it. I feel like we use anxiety too loosely and stuff, like, oh, I'm nervous, anxiety. So it just makes you more scared because now you have anxiety. Now I just be like, yeah, just, I'm scared. So well, go. That's another great trading secret.
Starting point is 00:46:16 This episode, we got trading secrets left right. We learned all about your career, how you guys work as a couple, where you're going next, your goals, your dreams, things you've been through. It's huge. Where can everyone find everything you have going on? Oh, we got some, as we wrap this podcast, we got two guests here in the back. Go on through. Let's go.
Starting point is 00:46:34 No, tell me where they could find you. So, you can find me, Ticklett HF on Twitch, chicklet. On everything. We got a YouTube channel, Millennian Chicklet. You can find me on Maleni Cruz on Instagram and Millenni HF on TikTok and Melani Cruise on Twitch. I love it. Well, thank you guys.
Starting point is 00:46:50 Achilles Familiar. Let's go. That's what we call ourselves. Angel's familiar. Let's go. Hell, yeah. Well, thank you for being on this episode, Trang Secrets. You guys killed it.
Starting point is 00:46:57 Thank you. Bye, guys. Ding, ding. We are closing in the bell to the Maleni and Chicklet episode a lot of action so funny one of the funny i think i don't know i don't remember laughing like this on a podcast in a while but i got the one the only david arduin the curious canadian with me david what you think oh man energy that guy's bouncing off the walls um i mean hard to i felt like i wasn't in the room but hard to have a conversation with that guy and not go
Starting point is 00:47:26 through all the emotions of like laughter and happiness and also like you know he get he get he kind of prides himself in getting deep into weeds of stuff, which as you know, we love to. So I thought the conversation was great. I thought the freestyle, I don't know if you're going to air it or not, but the freestyle that you guys did before recording was hilarious. Didn't know you had that in that, in you, Jay, a little freestyle skills off the top of the dome there.
Starting point is 00:47:50 It's pretty good. But, yeah, it was great, great, great banter and great chemistry, I think, between you guys in the group. Had you met them before or was that first time? That was first time. No, no, no, no. Sorry. I mean, that was like when you said the freestyle thing, like I haven't done freestyle in a while. But back in high school, you know, me, Tico and Rob used to always do in a couple of the other guys. We would have a little freestyle battles. It was good stuff. But no, we work with them on the rewired side. They're an awesome couple. Obviously, it was the first time I like sat down and did a podcast type format with them. But this was all recorded into Hamptons, which majority of our episodes lately have been. You guys have heard a lot of them lately. They're, They've been popping.
Starting point is 00:48:33 They've been ripping. They were the first episode I did that day. And so it was a great way to start it off, which put me in a beautiful mood for the rest of the episodes. Yeah, no, you could tell the energy was high. It makes sense it was in the house. We've talked about that house that delivered all these podcasts for through Gary V, which was great.
Starting point is 00:48:52 I got to say, you know, is chicklet just, is he just the alpha in that relationship? Millennia just seemed like so sweet, so, you know, so cold. Wyatt. So like, yeah, I'm going to let him take the questions and chicklet, like, he's just in it. That guy you can tell. He just loves to talk about them and it and everything. So was that energy in the room that way too? I will tell you, anyone that follows them that's listening to this will say, David, go follow them because it's, she buries them in content. Like, she just like, like absolutely crushes him in content. It's so funny. So I would say, uh, I would say it's a good, it's a good even battle between the two. Yeah, no, I, I have. I have.
Starting point is 00:49:32 I have seen their content since the pod, and I'm always honest on this. I didn't know who they were prior. And to go back and watch their content, you could tell exactly how they're saying, like, oh, those arguments, they're not all scripted. That's for sure. Like, I could see how their arguments naturally occur based off of their energy and infectiousness and just like how, like, they just attack things. And I thought the episode was really good.
Starting point is 00:49:59 I mean, you know, I think my main takeaway for you, Jay, that I that a question that I want to ask is you're you said you work with them on the rewired side you know obviously they talked about you know the wealth that they're starting to create for themselves through their content which is just amazing to hear but I don't think in 250 plus episodes we've ever have someone with the perception of how they manage or lack there of money um and their kind of mindset towards it and I have a couple quotes here that I'll I'll draw but I just want to hear from you were you like are you guys fucking crazy or were you guys like you know what i've never really thought about that way what was your takeaways in that chair my biggest takeaway is uh like we got to have a
Starting point is 00:50:39 follow up meeting to talk about some of this finance stuff because you know it they're so open and so honest which i love and everything i do with finance is all on the basis of do not weaponize you not blame do not shame do not criticize someone um if they're not if they don't have financial acumen or financial literacy because we weren't taught this stuff. No one was taught this stuff in the school system, which is our problem in the United States. So I never want to meet that with any type of criticism, but more of like, thank you for being open and honest. Now, like, let's set up a meeting and talk a little bit about how you can put yourself in a better position to win. And I actually really, really appreciate their vulnerability because
Starting point is 00:51:18 it's that vulnerability that's going to connect with so many other people that listen to this podcast. You're going to be like, I don't know either. And finally, someone that I find funny and entertaining, like is opening up that door and showcasing like that I really don't know much. And I also want to say this, David, 250 episodes, you said that. The thing is, is I can't tell you how many times I have guests come on the podcast. And before we record, they say, I don't know anything about finances. I know anything about accounting. I don't know anything about any of this stuff. Can you please like not bring it up and make me look like foolish? You know? Yeah. Like that happens all the time. It happened this past week. I was up, I was interviewing Rachel Recki, which is coming on. She's like, I don't
Starting point is 00:51:55 know anything about finance. I was like, that's not what we need. We just need to know that you don't know anything. That's what's going to rely to people. And it's so funny, you say relating, and I related to this. Like, I thought that his, like, you asked him how do you feel secure in your finance? He's like, I spend it. And he didn't say it in a way of like, it kind of resonated in the way he said it. Like, no, I have it. I get it. I spend it. The reminders of what I'm able to buy and the fact that I can keep buying it. I'm not compromising my financial situation in my short term. a reminder to me to keep working hard and I've earned all these things and I have something to show for it, which keeps him motivated and it keeps him wanting more. You know, millennia was
Starting point is 00:52:35 hilarious, but saying, spend that shit. You can't take it with you. And I did love the quote where he said, if you stress about money, your mind keeps you away from it. I thought that was really a powerful thing that I think when he said it, I was like, God, that sounds like me in a little ways. But yeah, I just thought that their approach to that was refreshing and hilarious. Maybe it's in a topic about finance management that shouldn't come across as funny, but that's also their brand and they're crushing and they're doing well and they seem really happy and secure with it. I think what's really cool is I've talked about this in my book, Talk Money to me, that when we hear savers, we immediately think good. When we hear spenders, we immediately think bad. And that is
Starting point is 00:53:15 not the case because there are things from spenders, like obviously we know both of them are, that will allow them to live certain lifestyles that are going, like you said, like when you're stressed about money, you're not going to be attracted to money. When you live in a scarcity mindset, you're going to make moves that are less risky. Like, you're not going to treat yourself to the finer things that you've earned.
Starting point is 00:53:35 So there are still so many positive dispenders, and I think we could see that in the episode. And we could also see, like, where a little bit of saving will continue to help them for their long-term plan. But I just, like, when I think about this episode, I love their hilarity, but I love their honesty, man. I love their honesty about, like, where they've come from, how resources were limited,
Starting point is 00:53:55 but like what they've done to build a brand from literally nothing but two creative brains, right? Like they, just like two creative people that have learned from others around them saying, like, hey, we could do this. And they've done it and they're killing it. And at the end of the day, we always love to take takeaways that we learned and the takeaways I hope people learned. And you cannot have an episode where he literally said his main employment for majority
Starting point is 00:54:19 time was making $50 a day dishwashing and she was making $150 a week part time in a dance studio and now they're making millions of dollars so how so i do love a couple of the things that they shed light on one is i loved when he was talking and he said he made the comparison of like being tired and working and like people who want to get in the content game they they don't do it because they come home for their job and they're tired so they don't want to do the content he's like dude don't you ever go to work tired and i love the quote that he said i love the quote and he goes have you ever been hungry and didn't eat it's like yeah we've all done that a million times of our lives it's just like the same thing it's like yeah do it tired i love that like slogan like do it tired
Starting point is 00:55:03 um it relates to so many different things financially career wise uh getting in shape eating healthy like like do it tired i just i i i fucking loved that um it's something that i'm going to talk to my team about now that we're in training camp in my hockey team like that do it tired is like yeah good like do it tired i love that he gave a quote that you'll be able to like inspire the kids with because you're right like it's you know Nike just do it now we got chicklet do it tired and that's so think about you know it's so funny that you said that i've been trying to say to myself lately that tired is a mindset i'm really tired i've been traveling a lot right i am but i'm so sick of saying I'm tired and busy.
Starting point is 00:55:43 And in my brain, I'm like, I need to stop saying the two words, busy and tired. Because, like, who cares? Just get it done. Do what you got to do. And if you're tired, sleep. Like, what I don't know? Just like, I don't know. There's something about a mindset to it.
Starting point is 00:55:54 There's a mindset. Like, overcome the mindset. Like, you're here. You're now doing this. So, like, figure out your tiredness and busyness later. You're here now. Be current and get it done. You either can, you either can get over that hump by two things.
Starting point is 00:56:05 Coffee, which is amazing. Or two, be tired and be busy, but understand that. if you're tired because you're busy and the thing that you're busy and is doing something that is like providing for you and it keeps growing and you're busy because you're fucking crushing it. It's like, yeah, good. I'm fucking glad that I'm tired because I'm tired doing something great rather than tired being lazy and doom scrolling in my coach all day with nothing to show for it. Fuck yeah. Or like in his example, you're tired from working. You're not tired from partying anymore. You know what I mean? Exactly. You're tired for making of yourself a better future,
Starting point is 00:56:39 your better life, not from, you know, again, going out late and doing drugs or too much alcohol and being hung over. So, like, that's a beautiful form of tired. Like, that's another, I don't know, we've never talked about this on the podcast. I guess you're right. There's different forms of tired. Yeah. You know, it's like productive tired or like, I'm a piece of shit tired. And this is productive tired. And like that's a, that's a great. Like, it's like after a good workout when you're tired or sore. That's the best tired. Right. 100%. I'm, I'm more tired this weekend, Labor day week in recording this because we had 85 kids move into the program 160 families we did training camp we had orientation you know we moved to me and we got it all set up like i'm fucking tired
Starting point is 00:57:15 i haven't seen my son in three days but i'm like also motivated because i'm like this is a reminder of why i do this i was tired throughout the summer being a dad and and having to go in the work and ordering gear and apparel but like that's boring tired like now i'm like tired and i'm happy about it because like you see the fruits your labor kind of come to fruition so i loved that i also I don't something we haven't really touched on in this podcast and it goes to kind of productivity is man in his trading secret when he opened up about getting sober um how it helped this career it helped everything and flash back to the start of the episode when he said you know when he got three hundred fifty dollars in a free
Starting point is 00:57:50 bottle of a club experience he was like I made it the quote that all that I'll just say this with and this is kind of the last thing that I'll bring up in the episode was how he felt fake looking back on being drunk because he knew that being drunk wasn't wasn't him. Like he had to get drunk to be a different person that in that moment he thought he had to be to fit into certain situations. And I've never heard someone say like that. Yeah, no, like I felt fake. Like I felt fake being drunk. And now he's like, I don't want to be that person. And I like the person that I am. So I don't want to get drunk. I don't want to feel fake. Because I'm so like happy and confident and clear-sighted in who I am. I just thought that like
Starting point is 00:58:30 terminology of it was so interesting and deep and inspiring. And like, I'm like, I'm like, like fuck like you know that that stuff kind of hits sometimes so that made like when he said that that made me want to be like right i'm going to take a couple months off of drinking like 100% and i think about like go ahead yeah for me it's not so much my current life but did that hit from like college and like early adulthood when it's like yeah you're you're drinking you're blacking out because of some insecurity or you're not comfortable or you feel like i can't can't dance unless I get drunk. I can't go to a concert unless I get drunk. Like I can't like all those types of like I can't talk to girls. It's like those types of things are like he said that. I'm
Starting point is 00:59:16 like, oh, I've been there before. Yeah. It was relatable. Yeah. And to hear him just crushing it now and how much happier he is, it's like yeah, if we're not having those conversations with ourselves and each other like we're not pushing each other to be better. So yeah, 100%. The two biggest things that have ever landed with me on the whole idea of sobriety is that comment here by chicklet and then i think the one by john mayor where he's like i was partying so much i had to say to myself when it's all done and over am i okay with this lifestyle like i'm having fun i'm partying i'm like doing my thing and i enjoy it but i will only be 60% of my max capacity which is okay like a lot of people do that and i thought about it or i'm going to say i'm done with this and i'm going to be able to look back in my life
Starting point is 01:00:01 career, be like, I was at 100%, like, I didn't, you know, and so that's why he went over and it was interesting. But really cool episode. I feel like in this recap, we didn't talk enough about Millenni. She is building an amazing brand. She is becoming a powerhouse in her space. She is absolutely hilarious. I think a lot of her stuff connects to women's empowerment in a way, too, which is really cool. And like, their dynamic is beautiful. Like, They love each other so much, but they check each other too. They're both independent brand players, but they work so well together. They both are fierce and mighty and like what they say and how they say it,
Starting point is 01:00:42 but they treat each other with like such love and compassion. And like it's a really, really cool dynamic to watch all the 360 sides of it. I wish I was in the room when they first met at that one party because you just probably would have been like electricity. And the last thing I'll say about the pot is if you listen to the first five minutes, especially me who listened for the first five minutes and you freestyling and these people and those laughters and giggles and high energy and I'm like what the what the hell am I getting myself into probably to come away with some of the deepest deepest takeaways about perspective and life
Starting point is 01:01:15 and productivity and I thought it was just a really really unique episode one of truly one of the most unique episodes we've done because it really hit so many different facets and the energy in the room was was was amazing so i love it great good stuff well if you don't follow him go give them to follow i got to recap the week a little bit uh it was a fun week david to give away this awesome ring with ring concierge and uh the knot in new york city was like the coolest thing the sweetest person in the world won it and the whole time she was just shaking yeah believe it like that was such a cool experience it's been fun to go to the u.s open cheer on jess pagula uh and des both uh are two of the four hosts of the Players Box, a new podcast that rewired actually is behind producing,
Starting point is 01:02:01 which is top three in sports the week of their launch, which is really cool. And just a lot of fun times. I'm in the Hamptons right now. I'm doing a dinner with Yes, Chef. If you don't follow Jack's dining room, go check them out. That's going to be cool. It's been a really, really fun week. I will tell you, I'm ready for summer to be over, man. I loved this summer. It was one hell of a summer. But speaking of tired, I am both productively and socially tired. I believe it. Hey, if college football kickoff isn't the start of the end of summer, you got NFL next week, go bills. I'll be, are you, I'll be at the, I'll be at the, I'm going, I'm, I got a ticket. I got a ticket. Yeah. I got a great story of how I won my tickets, golf tournament.

Well, we'll talk about that offline because we'll have to meet up. but uh all right i think that's all i got i think last episode we missed the recap but that episode did not need a recap o'landria stole the show she is the show if you have not listened to that please give it a listen our definitely most watched video on youtube it hit top 80 hype videos the comments the the support for that interview really was beautiful so thank you guys for following along make sure to hit follow here give us five stars please and uh we have some massive and fun guest coming.
