Starting point is 00:00:00 Yo, welcome back to another episode of Trash Taste Podcast. I'm Joey and I'm with the Boys Gone Corner as per usual and today we're gonna get deep. I have not been looking forward to this episode as an Englishman. Oh, oh, oh. I mean in general.
Starting point is 00:00:13 As an American, I look forward to this. I look forward to sharing my feelings. As an Englishman, we're gonna be talking about our feelings and shit. Well, you know, at Thanksgiving, that's what I look forward to the most. Every year, November-ish. November.
Starting point is 00:00:28 November. You should know as an American, when Thanksgiving is right? Yes. I do not know this. Fifth Tuesday of the month. It's last Thursday of November. It's the fourth Tuesday, actually.
Starting point is 00:00:38 It's the fourth Thursday. The fourth Thursday? Yes. So is that not the last? Not all the time. What are there five Thursdays and none? If the month starts on a Thursday, then there's five Thursdays. Bro, I was basically right.
Starting point is 00:00:51 You were so confident to retort me. Who's right? Let's find out. It would be very funny if Joe's wrong. No, no. No, no, no, not how many Thursdays? Not how many Thursdays? When is Thanksgiving? No, no, when is Thanksgiving determined?
Starting point is 00:01:05 Yeah. It's the fourth Thursday of November. I thought it's the last Thursday, which is basically the same thing. Which is really, which is basically the same thing. The fourth Thursday in November. I mean, I'm not saying I'm American, I'm just saying, I'm right, all right. I'm just saying we both have American partners,
Starting point is 00:01:22 that's why we know. You know why you have an American partner? Because you couldn't find the American in your state. You had to find it in someone else. Is it copium? It is? I don't want to say you're coping. Listen, I didn't cope.
Starting point is 00:01:38 I found it in my, I found the American in myself. We all need to find the American ourselves. Right. Anyway, that's, we're not even talking about that today. So as the, as the, as the, it's like, I'm bringing it up. I am bringing it up. Every chance I can get. So today we have filled up trashbox cune with a bunch of prompts.
Starting point is 00:01:55 Now these prompts are going to get pretty deep. Pretty deep. So I've just cracked over my beer. Oh, you're ready. Also, your shirt is sick. I need a beer. My shirt? Why do I not have that?
Starting point is 00:02:07 Oh, thank you. It's a nonsense shirt. Can you, well, I have you give me one free shirt and I've been wearing this for months, Joe. Can I get another free shirt, please? Also, that's not true. I've given you many nonsense shirts. I've never seen Connor like this, bro.
Starting point is 00:02:18 Like, you are going through the, Connor just had a muffin before, Phil. He's going through the biggest fucking sugar. I've ever seen in my, normally Conner has a side of a trash t-t-ed. Can I just have your shirt? Like Thanksgiving, nice shirt, my, I'm sorry, I just wanted a new shirt, Joey.
Starting point is 00:02:33 I'll give you some new shirts, don't worry. Connor is just like, oh, I'll give you some shirts. Now this is not the time. I just think you should be giving me more free shirts, Jay. Wow, all right. What is the point in having a company? As the thought never crossed your mind,
Starting point is 00:02:48 then maybe I could just buy it. I don't know how to do that. You have eaten muffins now, every time before like every trash day. No, I don't want to. If one person is this much, this kid, this kid, kid, I swear to God. Anyway, so in Trashbox Coon today, there are a number of prompts. Now, these prompts are going to,
Starting point is 00:03:04 I need, Joey, do you want this? Do you want this? I'm good. I'm good. I'm good. Saying, I'm providing these boys' calls. Come on. All right. Anyway, so we're gonna be discussing a bunch of very deep, potentially philosophical, you know, some, how do you even describe this? Just thinking about it, I want a new shirt. The first prompt. Your friend gives you a new shirt.
Starting point is 00:03:27 What you do. What you do? Conner's gone from an entirely new vibe right now. Yeah. Sorry, so go ahead. So yeah, anyway, a bunch of prompts in here. Can we fuck this for a second? What? I'm just like, you know, you know what's fucked up?
Starting point is 00:03:41 I was fucked up. I'm gonna be off topic. I don't even know if we're gonna open that right now. Okay, yeah, whatever. Let's let's let's, yeah. It was fucked up. What the fuck is humor? I had, I was in the fucking shower like a week ago,
Starting point is 00:03:52 but I'm like, why? Pause. Why do humans laugh? Why do humans laugh? Like, what, what, what? It's like, do animals laugh? Kyle, can you start jumping? Animals, what is like the purpose of humor?
Starting point is 00:04:03 What is the evolutionary purpose of humor? Dog, are you high? Maybe. I don't know, man. I've had like what. You have two sets of a bee. Oh my God. Okay, here we go.
Starting point is 00:04:14 The team of scientists, I guess, identified 65 species that laughed while playing. Most were mammals, but a few bird species demonstrated playful laughter. Yeah, I mean, why wouldn't you? Well, okay, another question for you then, if we're on this topic. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:27 Why do we clap? We're fucking, it literally makes no sense. What does this mean? Why, why did we evolutionary think like, that must be some, like, there must be some, this is a fucking V-source video. There must be some like evolutionary, not evolution, there must be like some cultural thing to be like,
Starting point is 00:04:42 I'm pretty sure clapping didn't get invented by cavemen. I'm, I'm pretty sure. Who invented clapping? Who invented, how, what is the history of clapping? Who invented clapping? What is the actual history of clapping? Why? Are we clapping?
Starting point is 00:04:59 Century BC. Ancient Romans. It's always the Romans. It's always the fucking Romans. It's always the Romans. I bet they just go in for. Because they invented blow jobs as well, right? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:08 I don't know. You remembered! I did remember. What are you thinking about right now, Garne? I don't know. Laughing and blow jobs. I'm so thinking about. Maybe I'm on a sugar high right now.
Starting point is 00:05:19 Yeah. I think, I think. Anyway, can we get back on Talby? Yeah. True. Yeah, okay. All right. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:24 I think I'm just trying my best to avoid this. Yeah, no, I feel you. I feel you. That muffin had peanut butter in it. I didn't even know. Get the fuck out. It was a, so I ordered a, I don't like peanut butter.
Starting point is 00:05:34 It was a Gatcha muffin. This place only, it is. It only does muffin. They have a daily muffin and they don't tell you what it is. So you just order a muffin and pray you don't get chocolate. Without singing the American National Anthem, why do you, why the fuck do you like peanut butter?
Starting point is 00:05:47 I don't know, it's great. It's just so overrated. It's just a great strong flavor. It's overrated. Low in calories, I think. It is definitely not open. It's definitely not. It's definitely not.
Starting point is 00:05:57 Some of the most, Some of the most like, caloric foods I've heard always have peanut butter. It's peanut butter alone in calories. I'm rolling the dice. Is caloric a name? A chlorific. Calarific?
Starting point is 00:06:07 Calarific. Calarific. This is calarific. 200 calories per two tablespoons. Nah, because that's crazy. That's crazy. Nah, because that's absurd. That's crazy.
Starting point is 00:06:21 Yeah, I was lying. Yeah. I was just thrown out there and hoping and hoping one of you would believe me. Dog, that's crazy. I made it the fuck up. Peanut butter is low in calories. 50 grams of fat.
Starting point is 00:06:34 I just, 600 calories in 100 grams. In more ways, in what world do you think a world where you combine peanuts and butter would be low in calories? They just like cancel each other out, right? If I said it, it might be true. Like I just thought there was a chat, you know, but it wasn't, so.
Starting point is 00:06:55 I was like, well, I was like, I was like, yeah, I combined lard with olive oil and I think it's negative calories somehow. It's negative calories. That I know that peanuts are very high and fat anyway. Yeah. Even if you like grinded them down. They were concentrated.
Starting point is 00:07:10 Did you think butter was just like air? Is it real butter they used in it? That's why they call it peanut butter. No, I thought they call it like butter. No, no, no. They combine peanuts and butter to make peanut butter. They combine peanut and butter. Oh, so.
Starting point is 00:07:25 Oh, peanut butter is simply ground peanuts. Fuck! No, no. He's so confident, no way, no way. The butter part of the name stopped because of its consistency. No fucking way. Yeah, because it's like the, my heart was broken when I found out that they weren't milking almonds.
Starting point is 00:07:41 Okay, that I knew. That's true. But it's the same kind of idea, right? I was like, dog, how do you milk an almond? Yeah, I didn't know. Where are the teets? Peanut butter is simply ground peanuts. Yeah, of course.
Starting point is 00:07:51 That's why there's so many fucking calories in it. I don't fucking believe that shit. Like, do you think, like, have you seen, Peanut butter being made, I don't believe that shit. No, because we're dumb, humans, and what we do is, is that when we see something, we're like, oh, it looks like butter. Peanut butter is literally a peanut smoothie.
Starting point is 00:08:03 Yeah, yeah. Yeah. That's crazy. Why don't they just call it a peanut smoothie? I just never thought about it. I just never thought about it. No, apple juice that shit, man. That's what they need to do.
Starting point is 00:08:13 Your peanut smoothie is actually 70% apples. Yeah. All right. Well, I was glad that some people in the comments of the episode did appreciate that I cared about the every man. The every man. I cared about him, bro. Have you stopped drinking smoothie since then?
Starting point is 00:08:25 Uh, wasn't that episode. Yeah, you haven't had a smoothie. He doesn't have a smoothie every day. No, what do you think? I'm not that guy. If I, if I bought you a juicer, yeah, I would make to me. Would you use it?
Starting point is 00:08:37 Would you use it? I don't waste like a Christmas present on some shit that you're not going to use, Connor? No, I would. All right. All right. Okay, but shake on. First thing he's putting in.
Starting point is 00:08:47 Okay, first of all, first of all, can I have a, can have a caveat? All right. All right, go on. What's the caveat? Here we goes. Don't do that thing. Because, you know, like, I know you're rich, can't.
Starting point is 00:08:56 Just ball out for me. Because if you buy me a shit juicer, I'm never gonna use it. Why would you think I would buy you a shit juicer, Connor? That'd be kind of funny though. I wasn't going to. It's like when like sometimes you're, it's like something, oh, you like headphones.
Starting point is 00:09:12 Yeah. You either just have to buy like the ones that everyone uses, like the Sonys, the bows or whatever or whatever fuck, I don't know. If you buy like some like, yeah, I got it from like Argos. I got these like 30 pound head I was like dude, these are not gonna last more than 10 minutes. It's gonna be a bet.
Starting point is 00:09:29 I just, you, now I feel bad because I'm gonna have to replace this at some point. Yeah. You know what I mean? So what you're saying is don't buy shit gifts. Just give me like coffee beans. This is what I tell everyone to get. So you're saying,
Starting point is 00:09:42 this is why you were juice, so you don't want a cheap one, which I wasn't gonna buy anyone. I was gonna buy you a good one. You gonna ball out. I'm actually a bit offended that you thought that I would buy you a fucking shit one right now. And you really do it. I just wanna, I just wanna.
Starting point is 00:09:57 It's like dog, I appreciate you buy him a juicer, but I need you to buy this specific one. So there's a model that I want God. Okay, oh my fuck. Listen, it's the low price of $700. All right. Come on, just get it. I mean, Sydney was looking at that one as well, actually.
Starting point is 00:10:13 That was a good. $700 juicer, what does it do? I'm kidding, I'm kidding. I'm kidding. What is the 700 dollar juice? By the way, this is all a bit. They don't take any of the segments seriously. It's not a bit.
Starting point is 00:10:24 It's just, I'm kidding me a $700. I have seen his coffee machine. I know who I know he's getting me a 700. I know what he's done is alike. The only, he's calling it a bit. It's actually gaslight. Yeah. You try those coffee beans I gave you by the way?
Starting point is 00:10:35 Oh yeah, actually I'm drinking them right now. Oh, fuck yeah. Pretty good. All right. They're really strange. They're like circular. I've never seen that before. Well?
Starting point is 00:10:43 The coffee beans he bought me, they're like nearly circles, like spheres. Oh, oh. I thought he just meant, yeah, these coffee beans. They're round, round and shit. No, no. I ain't, I've ever seen that in my life. Really different from the.
Starting point is 00:10:55 The triangular beans I've been having. Spherical coffee beans. I've, I, I, I, I, I, I, I've never seen anything like this. Okay, that is, okay, this is like AI prompt gone wrong. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, the Google doesn't even have this. Yeah, I think you're tripping, bro. I think I'm gonna take a picture and show you.
Starting point is 00:11:13 Yeah, it's, it's really bizarre. I've, I, cause I bought a bag for myself as well. Yeah, and they are not spherical. So I don't know if you got this special spherical fucking coffee beans. I don't know what they're, I'll show you. Oh, oh. Okay, moving on. Moving on.
Starting point is 00:11:27 So Gantz can get me $700 juicer. Yeah. And I threw away the $50 headphones, you got me. I'm sure. I'm sure. What's the right amount to spend on headphones before you're like, you're pleased? Well, no, not me, but like, I think that.
Starting point is 00:11:40 Oh, okay, not you. Okay, look. He's speaking for the every man. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, Joe, are you telling me if I bought you $50 headphones, you'd be like, that, wow, kinda. Yeah, I'll take that shit.
Starting point is 00:11:50 No, you wouldn't. Oh, yeah, you were, because you basically, you're a one-time use guy. I tell you. He uses headphones and then he like fucking throws it away. There are two things. He throws that shit in the trash after two uses. There are two things that I can only buy cheap.
Starting point is 00:12:05 And one of them is headphones. And the second one is sunglasses because I always fucking lose them. So don't trust me with them. And you're with me on this, right, Jerry. Headphones, you've got to get your headphones. Of course. Like I think it's, so there are some items that I firmly believe you just have to get the like more premium thing.
Starting point is 00:12:21 100%. There are a lot of things I think that it doesn't fucking matter. But headphones are one of them. I'm like you gotta get some good hair. Yeah, because a good pair of headphones will last you so long. And also it's one of the things, don't fucking lose them.
Starting point is 00:12:31 It's one of the things you use every single fucking day. 100%. I feel like it's just like, don't burden me with something I'm gonna have to replace. No, absolutely. I just love like the in-air phones.
Starting point is 00:12:42 Like I don't like headphones. No, no, you love the excavators. I can't use those. What the fuck are the excavators? Oh, it was like a deep in your ear? Yeah, I can't use those. I can't use those. Yeah, because I don't, I'd like,
Starting point is 00:12:52 what do we mean when we say, when we say like headphones? and so we're on like the same page. Okay, okay. Are we talking about the big, bulky ones? All of the above. All of the above. All of the above.
Starting point is 00:13:00 Earphones, headphones. Okay, so I've tried like, earpieces, clamshells. Air pods are just like, I don't know, that shit feels uncomfortable with shit to me, man. I don't know, it constantly feels like it's going to fall out. No.
Starting point is 00:13:11 I have constant anxiety. No, I get it, because the first time I bought AirPods, I felt the same way, but then you get used to it. I've never even owned AirPods and I put them in and thought, wow, this fits well. Yeah. I mean, I don't know about that.
Starting point is 00:13:23 That's a bit weird. Yeah. But I use the glasses more now than anything. Oh, yeah, true. I love the glasses. Yeah, I use the Airbags. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because Sydney was thinking about,
Starting point is 00:13:35 have you tried, apparently they have like a translation function on them? Oh, I've not tried that. Okay. Because that would just make reading fucking, like, manga and Japanese just like that much more simpler if they do. Maybe you can, actually.
Starting point is 00:13:48 That is the future. That is actually the future. It's cool, though, because I think they'll only get better. Oh, 100%. Yeah. It's very cool though. I, because you know what? I've turned off noise cancelling.
Starting point is 00:13:56 I don't, not a big fan of noise cancelling anymore. Really? I think I like hearing the noise, unless I'm on a flight or like a bus or something. No, I always go to- When I'm walking around, I realize now, I'm not a big fan of not being able to hear my surroundings. Yeah, yeah, same here, same here.
Starting point is 00:14:09 I don't know why I've changed. I prefer it because then I can hear the music better. Yeah, but like, you're just less aware. Sometimes I just want a sound to my life, Jerry. Sometimes you're just out and about. Just you want a soundtrack. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:20 Plus, you don't get the same shit, like being want to call and just ignoring the person right next to you, but it's, it's, it's a skill-diff, isn't it? That's skill issue. All right, let's get into our thing we're gonna do today. We are going to be- Yeah, we have a bunch of prompts, yeah, and all the producers have told us is that these are
Starting point is 00:14:38 the deepest prompts that will go right down into our psyche. We might get a little, wallet's for my birthday. Exactly, we might get a little bit philosophical, we might get a little bit sensitive, we don't know, but we gotta pull on out. We might get a little,
Starting point is 00:14:52 some pee-poopo once, who knows? But only one way to find out, I guess. Can you put the fucking... No. Give it some. No. No, put it down. No, no, I'm gonna mess it up.
Starting point is 00:15:02 Oh my God, all right, fuck it. All right, I'm gonna pull one. Okay. Sorry, dad. God damn it. All right. Let's go. What's the hardest truth
Starting point is 00:15:13 you had to face this past year? Okay, this is way deeper than I thought it was gonna be. The hardest truth. you've had to face this past year. I'm not the best. I'm not a gamer. I'm not, I'm not the goat.
Starting point is 00:15:32 I'm not goad in. I'm not the goat. No. There's just not enough, I don't know. Bitch. We should not give this man a muffin, bro. We can't give this man a muffin. We need a son.
Starting point is 00:15:48 We need a ban muffins from this office, bro. It's too much. What's wrong with it, man? I don't know. I was gonna say something and I realized, no, that's so fucking cop out. You're the only one who can eat a muffin and act high, like, it's crazy.
Starting point is 00:16:01 No, I just thought, I just, no, I had an answer, and then I was like, no, that's actually so lame. What was your answer? Then I was just like, there's not enough time for everything, I was like, that's fucking sucks. I realized midway through. Shit, I was gonna say that.
Starting point is 00:16:13 No, because I realized everyone knows this. Yeah, I know, yeah. And I was like, wait, that's lame. And then I was like, what do I do? Uh, bidges. I didn't know! I mean, that's also facts. Like, you know, nothing.
Starting point is 00:16:24 He's kind of spinning on that one. Actually, it's a 50-50 ratio corner. Scientifically saying. No, actually there is more women in the world than men, Gant. You should know this. Is that actually true? Yes. Can you Google this? Even with like... It's just like 51%.
Starting point is 00:16:39 I thought there's more men. Because women live way longer than men. Oh, true. It's slightly more women than men. I thought like the... Yeah, 50.28%. 50. What?
Starting point is 00:16:52 Oh, wait, no, it's the other way. It's the other way. It says 50.28% of male, 49.7, wow, women fell off. I fucking, I thought so because like China's population was like skewed towards men. Oh no, can we restrict China though? That don't count. They're a law.
Starting point is 00:17:10 Let's just restrict, you know, the country with the second largest amount of people. Wait, I just lied. That's the second time. I think that's kind of just hoping that don't believe. Wait, no way, I swear I read something. But maybe I'm wrong. No, no, I feel like I read something.
Starting point is 00:17:26 Maybe I'm thinking about like, like, you know what? I definitely know for a hundred percent fact. In Russia, there's definitely more, give me a Russia for 1000. In Russia. Because like a lot of, there's a lot of hard labor jobs in Russia,
Starting point is 00:17:40 people died a lot earlier. Yeah. Okay, let's see. Let's find out. Let's find out. 86 males to 100 females. Isn't that crazy that ratio though? I like how you just cherry picked your,
Starting point is 00:17:50 this is what the internet does by the way. They just cherry pick their data And they're like, actually, actually, actually, you were actually objectively wrong. Oh, I'm sorry. You're actually just objectively wrong. I'm sorry. You were literally just a Reddit thread right now.
Starting point is 00:18:03 Okay, right, right, right. Can we just spread misinformation? What is it? Okay, so in Japan. Okay, now, now I'm trying to get my, I'm trying to win something back here. Don't most countries have more women than men. Give me 1,000.
Starting point is 00:18:17 What do we ask Google to? How many countries have more? Tragibati. Can we? Can we? Are they more, yeah. All right, anyway, what's the hardest truth you had to face this past year,
Starting point is 00:18:29 other than the fact that we don't have enough time for pictures? I'm not enough beers in for this, I'll be honest right now. This is some deep shit right now. Maybe we can get into this like an hour. Maybe there's a better question. Let's put on the background. Should we apply a different question?
Starting point is 00:18:42 Yeah, yeah, yeah. As we go on this episode. Apparently a muffin just fucking ruined everything. No, no, don't blame the muffin. I'm blaming the muffin. Oh, so if I was tired, you'd say it'd be better. Yeah, actually. I'm tired.
Starting point is 00:18:53 Actually. So you wouldn't be thinking about fucking bitches or so. That was funny. Okay, what about this one? What is one thing that should be taught but isn't? Bitches. I didn't leave. This is not the day, bro.
Starting point is 00:19:10 You can't say like, fuck it, how to do taxes. Fuck. No, you were not going to say that. That's the last thing I thought of. Joey, Joey just wants to say the most. Facebook mom. I don't know, what else is there? What else is there?
Starting point is 00:19:27 I was gonna say taxes, mortgages. I'm reading his goddamn mind. Do you know what I wanna say? Do you know what I wanna say? You know what's crazy? I feel like mortgages aren't that fucking hard to learn. No, they're not. It literally takes a Google fucking shirt.
Starting point is 00:19:39 I'm just able to fucking mortgages. No, you don't teach that shit in school? I'm fucking 12. Don't teach me about a mortgage. I actually got one. How to deal with passive aggressive roommates? I just like, what?
Starting point is 00:19:51 Okay, give me the- That needs to be taught. Okay, fine, God. That needs to be tour. How old am I? How old am I learning? Well, obviously, if you're in fucking university. Yes.
Starting point is 00:20:00 So wait, I need a fucking course for this. Sorry guys, you've just paid nine grand a year to be here. Let me pause this for a second. Tell you guys how do we good roommates? Yeah, is this, yeah, so is this something, okay, so you have roommates in college, right? Is this something that you would be taught before college or at college? Yeah. What I'm basically saying...
Starting point is 00:20:15 So when you're in high school. Who the fuck is gonna listen to that? I feel like, I just feel like more people need to fucking, no, no. fucking know how to deal with. No, because there's so many different situations. The kind of people you're gonna teach, they're not gonna listen, God. It's better than fucking taxes, Joey.
Starting point is 00:20:29 That's like, that's like saying like, oh, I wish there was a class in high school where they teach you how to make friends. It's like, actually, actually, that's, fuck, oh, I just, I don't know, wait, he's cooking, he's cooking. Joey, keep talking, keep talking, what else you think is stupid?
Starting point is 00:20:44 What else is dumb? What else is dumb? How to get bitches. Nah, he's spitting, though. Yeah, no, actually. Hey man, you need to get that Riz game up. Where was my class in Rizology? What are things that you feel are indispensable
Starting point is 00:20:58 to your life as an adult right now? Okay, other than bitches. Other than taxes and bitches? That's like, you're married, and you're getting there. Taxes, isn't it? What is, I think, It's indispensable to my life.
Starting point is 00:21:23 How to talk to people. How- I think. Problem is you need a teacher who is like, fucking fluent as hell in talking. How to be comfortable with yourself. Yeah, hi. Welcome to the therapy session.
Starting point is 00:21:37 Yeah, I was about to say, man. Yeah. There's a place for that. That exists. I don't talk about your feelings and shit. Actually, actually, yeah, that's just a beer, right. Mm-hmm. I'm just trying to think,
Starting point is 00:21:51 because I'm trying to think like, all right, every idea, how would it not work? Which I guess is the right way to think about all this stuff. Right. If you were like, we're going to talk about our feelings. How do you do that with a class of 30
Starting point is 00:22:00 where half the kids suck and we'll make fun of everyone who talks about their feelings? I legitimately think like a class on how to talk to people would be so fucking beneficial because you can use it during school and you most certainly will need it after school and a lot of people just don't know how to do it. Well, I think they should just be more
Starting point is 00:22:15 like subtle ways to encourage people to talk more to focus less on doing just school work. Yeah, totally. Uh, yeah. I actually have, uh, I actually have a serious suggestion. That just came to my brain right now. Okay. Um, I don't, I don't know what the,
Starting point is 00:22:33 I don't know what the exact fucking, um, way to word this, but just like internet safety. I feel like, that's a very question. Yeah. Yeah, true. I just, I just, I just think, uh, a lot of people nowadays, they're born. True. And then, shit.
Starting point is 00:22:49 They just have a fucking iPad and they have no idea how to control their relationship with the online space. Yeah. We had to learn that shit trial by fire, but we also came from an age where we grew up in a time without the internet as well. Yeah, sometimes I look back and I remember playing World at War card.
Starting point is 00:23:08 I played zombies in my friend's house. We started playing at like midnight. We played till 8 a.m. And I played with the same guy called Tony from Yorkshire, who was like a 50 year old man. And I was like, I was like 14. And we were just, me and my best friend were gaming all night,
Starting point is 00:23:22 taking it in turns each other round. Yeah. We just game with Tony all night. But Tony was chill. But thinking back, I was like, man, I would not like my kid doing that. No, yeah, no.
Starting point is 00:23:32 Tony never asked me anything weird. All right. He just wanted to play zombies. He didn't care that we were 14. Right. I don't think we met. Off rip, I was like, yeah, I'm 14, Tony.
Starting point is 00:23:43 Yeah, well, yeah, with a voice like that, he probably thought like, oh, he must be his Tony. When did your voice drop? I don't know, like when I was like 13. Serious? Did you never have a time where you had those like weird testy pops in your voice
Starting point is 00:23:55 where it's just like sometimes just be like, oh! I think I did. Well, no, so it was more so it dropped and then it very often would break back to being, like going high. Yeah, but I remember this, it happened when I was like 13 or 14. Yeah. And everyone thought I was faking it for like the first week or so.
Starting point is 00:24:13 Well, yeah, I mean. And I thought I had a sore throat. Oh. So I was like, no, no, I just got a sore throat. And then it just never went back. And I was like, oh shit. Damn. I was like, fuck yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:23 I don't remember. I don't, what a fucking lucky dice around. I actually don't remember when mine. It definitely wasn't as early as 12 or 13. My voice probably dropped to like 15, 16. Yeah. I think honestly, I'm trying to remember. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:34 Like a basic hygiene class. Like they run through how to do laundry or all the things that could fuck up. You don't got pods. Maybe you're at your friends house. Because I'm a pod user, right? Yeah. Sometimes I get a little confused when they got all the detergents
Starting point is 00:24:48 and the thing I'm, I'm like, which one goes wet? Yeah. I do figure it out, I do know, but like, and then maybe it's like, all right, you've had a fucking groom, how to shower, I'll do all this shit. Got a guy, all right, here's how you shave,
Starting point is 00:24:57 if you're rocking a beard. He's how you do it. Girls, how do you make up? Everything, go for everything. I feel like, maybe, maybe, it's 2024, you can do that. No, here's the question I have, right? How do girls learn how to do their makeup?
Starting point is 00:25:10 And I'm talking before YouTube existed. Before YouTube existed? Like, parents, isn't it? Is it though? Because like, I remember my sister just one day, started wearing makeup and I was like, where did you learn to do this? It's just like, oh, I just figured it out.
Starting point is 00:25:25 I'm like, message it now. Probably figured it out. Probably figured it out. I also like, I'll message it right now. I also imagine like talking to other classmates, right? The same way that I think like some guys learn some other stuff too, right? You just talk.
Starting point is 00:25:37 Yeah. But like, how do you know that you're not being like, you're not just talking to a guy who made shit up? Oh, for sure, you might. That's what has been a kid though. You get to do that. And that's why you gotta figure it out. And then when, when you,
Starting point is 00:25:49 find out he was making shit up and you feel so fucking embarrassed, that is a feeling that will never leave you and you will always structure your life around never letting that happen ever again. And that's a very important thing to learn. Because you need to have those colossal embarrassing moments to know how to then function. But, you know, I think we should, you know,
Starting point is 00:26:10 actually, I've shown gone this, you see that TikTok of that girl in Japan, the one who's like a, which one? The cockroach one. Oh, it's gnarly, bro. Oh, it's gnarly. What is it? You went full fucking Japanese.
Starting point is 00:26:22 You're like, oh. All right. Actually, you know what? Rip it on the monitor. Ripe it on the monitor. Type in. Cockroach, girl,
Starting point is 00:26:33 Japan TikTok. I already hate the sound of this. Yeah. Actually, that is it, the first video, but I think that's not her TikTok. Yeah, that's not a TikTok.
Starting point is 00:26:42 Yeah, it could go to there and it should pop up. Japanese girls with roaches. Jesus. And this made me feel so strongly that just something needs to be done. What did you mean something needs to be done? Like, we just gotta teach kids some shit. I mean, you can teach kids some shit, but at some point, I was like, this should never happen.
Starting point is 00:27:03 Which is what? Are they just living like an unhygiener? Oh my God. I mean, it's like the extreme level, so. Yeah, yeah, yeah, okay, while Connor, while Connor is talking. Is this on? No, it's on the laptop. Oh. Fuck, right, can I join the...
Starting point is 00:27:20 Yeah, so to describe what Connor is talking about, basically there is a girl who is doing TikTok and she got famous because she was cooking a meal and her apartment is like a fucking dump. And I actually mean like a dump. Full of cockroaches, full of garbage. And when I first saw that, it was so bad
Starting point is 00:27:41 that I generally thought, oh, this is like a fetish thing. Because she doesn't look like a, you know, she doesn't look like an, unattractive person, but she's quite clearly living in her. Skin is clearer than mine. Yeah, right, yeah. So clearly she either has a lot of filters on or takes care of herself or both.
Starting point is 00:27:59 Well then apparently, Siddy looked into her and it was very apparent that she was not faking it at all. Right. And this was very much a mental health thing. No, see, it's interesting, right? Because in the past on Japanese TV and stuff, there have been a number of cases where a lot of like idle girls especially.
Starting point is 00:28:15 And I'm talking like, not like small time underground, idols. I'm talking like AKB level idols. Yeah. Who they go to their house and it's just a fucking pig style. Yeah. And they and like the, the, like public persona of like, you know, being very like wholesome and clean and, you know, living a healthy lifestyle is just completely on the opposite of the side of the spectrum when you actually go to their house and it's just like rubbish everywhere. Yeah. And it's just like, man, how, damn bitch, you live like this? Like, what's, what's the most dirty you allow your like apartment to get. Like what's the line for you?
Starting point is 00:28:52 Everyone has like a certain line where you're like, I should clean up. If I can physically see stuff on the ground, then I'm like, all right, this is too much. What do you mean? Like if I'm seeing like, say if you're in like the bathroom area, right? Yeah. And I see like multiple strands of hair everywhere.
Starting point is 00:29:09 Shit, dog. Yeah. That's your line? That's my line. Sure. Don't come to my place, sure. Because it's like, at that point it's like, well, if I can see it, then my guests can see it.
Starting point is 00:29:21 You know. Yeah, this is the famous one. Okay. Oh my God. Yeah, she's, she's cooking, well, what is all this? Fucking TikTok man. Oh no, no, that's logging in. Oh, no, no. Oh no, no, guess that's the bottom one, the red one? Oh, this one? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, here's her cooking. Yeah, here's her cooking.
Starting point is 00:29:39 Oh my God. And just look at the background. It gets, worse. It gets worse. So she's doing a fucking cooking stream. I just feel bad for her. Like she shouldn't have to live like this. But like look at that. Yeah, but her like, apparently she got kicked out of her apartment as well, which unsurprisingly.
Starting point is 00:29:54 Yeah. And she was like living on the streets for a while. Oh my God, there's just like trash in the background. Yeah. No, it gets much worse, Joey. It gets much worse. Oh my God. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:04 Bro. So, uh, I've seen actually a few Japanese tic doctors that are like this. There's also like there as a TikTok account where they clean up. Yeah. These apartments. Yeah. And it's, oh my God. It's.
Starting point is 00:30:15 I do not want to imagine what it smells like. Yeah, well, I mean, at this point, when it gets to this level, I think it's just a mental health issue. Oh, that's what? That's insane. Bro. Oh, she's doing a cooking tutorial.
Starting point is 00:30:32 Oh my God, all over the wall. Yes. How do you sleep in that? That's what blows my mind is that she can sleep. Oh my God, bro, that's fucking foul. Yeah. It's crawling all over. man. Oh my God. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:49 Cooking raw chicken and that as well. No, don't smile. Yeah, that's so like that. That is where I'm like, man, we just, we got to teach everyone and support people with mental health. Because like Japan, then they just leave them. Yeah. Let them like, they're like, well, good luck. Yeah. No, that's terrible. Oh, it's vile. I got to get that off the screen. Yeah. What's your line for cleaning your apartment? My line? Yeah. Fuck. I mean, you. If you ever see like the hair clumps in the corner, that's a big one, I gotta vacuum.
Starting point is 00:31:19 Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. Because you know, like, sometimes, like all the hair wants to go to like one corner. Yeah, because of how, maybe your house laid out. Yeah, right, shit. But like right now, I mean, I'm currently about to do a flea market stream where I'm about to get rid of a ton of stuff.
Starting point is 00:31:32 I got like all the cosplays and finally shipping out. And I got a bunch of cinnamon and all stuff I gotta ship out. So my living room is uninhabitable right now. Right. So, I mean, that's fair. That's fine.
Starting point is 00:31:41 Because that's just like a one time thing, right? If it was like that all the time, then it'd be a problem. It's just frustrating because I want it clean, but I also have just too much stuff that I can't throw away because I need for stuff. No, no, totally. But that's how hoarding starts.
Starting point is 00:31:53 Exactly, yeah, that is how hoarding starts. No, I can't throw it away, guys. I need that. I might need it eventually. Yeah, I might need it eventually, you never know. But sometimes you have, sometimes you have some things that you like feel sentimental towards, right? No.
Starting point is 00:32:06 You don't, you don't? No, after nothing I don't. You don't want to keep anything? There's nothing better than like just being able to throw away a ton of stuff you don't want. I do, but it depends on the thing. Yeah, yeah, very much depends on the thing. Okay, you get a birthday card.
Starting point is 00:32:20 How long are you keeping the birthday card? It depends on who from and the context around it. Yeah, yeah. I have a birthday card that my, like, family member gave me, like five, six years ago that I still hold onto. Why? Why do you hold onto it? Well, because it was my younger cousin who was one years old and it was the first time he ever wrote anything.
Starting point is 00:32:39 All right, that's cute. Yeah, so that's cute. I hold on to that because that's sentimental. Yeah. I normally just, I read it and I'm like, oh, that's nice and then I, Yee! Yeah, I don't need it anymore.
Starting point is 00:32:51 My birthday's over. Bro, my mom has every card I ever gave her for her like birthday and mother's day. Am I a monster? Would you keep your kids one? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That's cute though. That was such a fucking, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:08 No, that's cute though, that's cute though. But for me, it's like, my birthday and anything special, whoop. I appreciate, because like, I look at, like, because there's a realizing moment where I, you know, I used to keep them around for a day or two or a week. And I'm like, oh, that's cute.
Starting point is 00:33:24 And then I'd look at it and now I'm kind of like, man, what am I doing this song and dance to myself? I look at it and I'm like, that's nice. I appreciate it. Right. And then I'll speed up the process here. Yeah, I'll probably hold onto a birthday card for maybe like, at most, maybe,
Starting point is 00:33:38 if it's just like a regular-ass birthday card from like a family member or a friend or whatever, then I might hold on to. or for maybe a month. Cool. I'm kind of learning, one of my life lessons that I've learned is that I wanna keep more, I wanna not throw away, like,
Starting point is 00:33:52 I wanna keep more memories, basically. Because, yeah, it's always tough though, because you're like, what, when is a memory worth storing around and having a place, like a physical space? Yeah, well, that's something you gotta come to terms. If you have too many, then they all start to devalue. Yeah, of course.
Starting point is 00:34:08 So it's, you need to find the, the, yeah, because I now have a period in my life where I just assume because I'm on camera, I don't need to keep anything and now I kind of like regret. Really? Yeah, yeah. I love being, I love that. So I'm like, man, I don't have to archive anything.
Starting point is 00:34:23 But there's like, that just means that all of my memories are just shit that I talk about on trash taste. And not to deval you guys as an audience, but I'm like, you know, there are some other important things that have in my personal life. Yeah, you wanna keep that shit private sometimes. Yeah, yeah, you know, you know, that's, I do wanna keep around for myself.
Starting point is 00:34:40 Absolutely. What's your guys's earliest memory? You've asked this before. I don't remember what you said. Oh, sure if I tell you again, you're gonna forget. Why should I tell you, Garn? Actually.
Starting point is 00:34:49 You're gonna forget? Mine is me getting, when I was four or five years old, getting lost in Orsucker. Yeah, I remember this, yeah. Yeah, I told the story. We, this is traumatic. This is traumatic. This is one time.
Starting point is 00:35:00 We've actually talked about this one. I promise we have. I was in a ball pit. That's all I remember. No, I remember that story. Okay, okay. God. I was vibing, man.
Starting point is 00:35:10 All right, pull out the thing, God. Stop stolen. I'm just vibed. I've cracked open the beer as well, boys, cheers. All right. All right. What are you still trying to prove to yourself? Fuck me.
Starting point is 00:35:24 I'm a real one. That I'm the goat. That I'm the goat! That I'm the goat! Oh! What am I still trying to prove to myself? Farr that I can do anything I want? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:36 Genuinely? Genuinely, yeah. Honestly, like if I put my mind to it, I can do anything. I just need to fucking whip myself into shape in order to do it in reality. I'm still relevant. Ooh. That's too close to home guard
Starting point is 00:35:53 that I haven't fallen off yet. This is just YouTuber daily daily life update. What do you see if we're trying to prove for myself? I haven't fallen off, damn it. That's the question to what's the hardest truth he had to face this past year? I'm still relevant, I think. I'll be honest, like, you said this question,
Starting point is 00:36:08 nothing really comes to mind. Like I think like I would love to give an answer here, but I genuinely don't think there's anything I am. Maybe I just don't know I am. Maybe subconscious. Maybe I am. Maybe subconsciously. What do I think about?
Starting point is 00:36:19 Okay. What do you think I'm trying to prove to myself? Come on. What do you, what do I think you're trying to prove to yourself? Yeah. You're like the chillest dude ever going. I don't think you're trying to prove anything. That you're the number one attitude.
Starting point is 00:36:31 That you're the number one attitude. I think you're trying to prove that. And you are succeeding, I will say. Actually, I can't, I try. I don't know. I'm Joey. Actually, Joey, I don't need to prove that since you fucking quit the game, man. You quit.
Starting point is 00:36:47 Maybe if you stayed in the game, I would have some competition, Joey. You're like, it's boring now, man. There's no one's even close to me right now. Bro, where's, uh, you know, you know why I came back to YouTube? Why don't I drive to become the number one was? Yeah. Because you existed, Joey. I quit, went to the BBC, you came along and then you decide to quit.
Starting point is 00:37:07 I'm like, and you know what? I saw that and the moment you passed me, I was like, My job is done. Fades in, it's, it fades away. I'm like, where's my rival with this now? I don't know, man. Isn't that sad that it took him showing you as possible? Oh, why is that sad?
Starting point is 00:37:27 Because you didn't believe in yourself. That's where all the anime's been teaching you gone to always believe in yourself. And you didn't until he believed in himself. No, no, no, it's not about believing in myself. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, did I misunderstand that you quit. It's not about believing in yourself. It's sometimes you just need,
Starting point is 00:37:41 You should understand this best of all. Sometimes you just need someone to get competitive against to, you know, some friendly competition. What is, what, otherwise how, where does your drive come from? Yeah, how do you improve? Right, right. Yeah, that's fair enough. Who are your rivals?
Starting point is 00:37:56 My rival. Your rival, your, yeah. Your Nakama, if you will. Well, what, what? I guess if anyone would fall into the category, it would be Ludwig, but that's certainly because, but it's more of like a friendly competition. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's it.
Starting point is 00:38:09 But there's a part of you. But there's always beaten me. There's a part of you though, That is like, I'm, but you gotta be honest, there's a part of you, somewhere in the back of your head that's like, yes, he is, you know, he does a lot of things that I want to do that maybe I see has him doing it better,
Starting point is 00:38:24 but in the back of your head you're like, I wanna beat this guy one day. I'm not even beat, but it's like, I just like, it's fun to be competitive with someone. Keep you on your toes. Yeah, I do, exactly. Yeah. And I think that's good for, I think that's good for motivation.
Starting point is 00:38:37 But he's not like, look, look, so like, it's not a competition, right? Chat, chat, why I'm saying champion. Oh my God. He's got brain rock, no, no, look, it's not a competition, but in your head, you're like, you're like, if he does, I can do it better.
Starting point is 00:38:49 Like it's like a, like a, like when you're at the pub, you're like, nah, I can do it better though. You know what I mean? It's kind of like, a jovial. They're not like, don't take that as serious because I think it's cringe and someone's like, I'm competing against him, the other guy's like,
Starting point is 00:39:01 what? Yeah, yeah. Yeah. I've heard of that where someone's like, yeah, we were competing against each other and the other guys are, no. What are you talking about? No, but like, you, I, I, I,
Starting point is 00:39:11 I think there's a difference between two people saying, oh, we're competing against each other to us something that's more subtle that's like, you know what, I just wanna do well, you know, I wanna do well, and I see what that person's doing. It's a competition with yourself and the person you are in the competition with is the goal, you know, or is the benchmark.
Starting point is 00:39:31 Maybe the real competition is with yourself, Joey. It is. It is with yourself. I like, because it's like, why are you trying to prove to yourself? I know, man. That I'm the goat. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:39:43 I genuinely don't know. I don't know what you're trying to prove to yourself either. But you can, you can fucking, you can fucking sick clothing. I'm trying to prove to myself that whatever I put my mind to, I can get, like, you know, get somewhere with, I think. Yeah. It's like every challenge I decide to do, and every challenge I actually actively participate in
Starting point is 00:40:04 is something that I want to achieve and I want to do the best that I possibly can with it. But that doesn't necessarily mean that I face if whatever I'm trying to achieve is failed. It's more like using that as an opportunity to grow and learn from, and then using that knowledge that you've gained from the success or the failure onto the next thing
Starting point is 00:40:24 and just keep going on from there. That's as serious as this podcast is gonna get. Fuck, he said it so well. Yeah, that was good. His answer. I like that answer. I'll like, I'll take it. I'll take it.
Starting point is 00:40:39 I'll take it. All right. All right. We are deepest episode, but something to our most unhinged episode. Yeah, you know, it kind of go both ways. Are you lying to yourself about anything? That I fall.
Starting point is 00:40:53 That are the ghosts. That I'm relevant. That I'm relevant. Ooh, I'm lying to myself. Ooh, I mean, I'm not even joking by that. I think the problem with this is that. Shut up. You are, you are.
Starting point is 00:41:09 No, you shut the fuck up. No, I'm not. Why? You don't think you're the go. No, no, no, no, that I'm falling off. What do you mean, what do you mean? That I'm relevant. What do you want to be relevant?
Starting point is 00:41:18 I'm lying to myself that I'm still relevant. Oh, so you're saying you genuinely like, do you down, don't feel like you're relevant? No. But like, does that matter? No, you're, no, it doesn't. But like, what does relevant mean? Like, what do you mean by that?
Starting point is 00:41:31 Relevant me, well, I guess. Like, you like the, like, okay, let me rephrase it. I wasn't, I, I'm not, no, no, it's not even that. It's that I'm not as, oh, how do I, How do I explain it? In terms of like myself being, you know, the best that I could be with whatever it is that I'm doing, I think I'm in it more than I've ever been.
Starting point is 00:41:51 Yeah, yeah. Right, like I'm putting way more reference into whatever it is that I'm doing now that I have ever been in my career. But in terms of like YouTube relevancy or like social media relevancy, I don't think I'm as relevant as I used to be. That's just how I see it.
Starting point is 00:42:07 Yeah, I mean, uh, but I'm not, but I wouldn't really like you, But I wouldn't even say I'm lying to myself about that because I'm aware of it. But also then I think like, I think we all are on less of a YouTube grind. Yeah. Like you just upload less,
Starting point is 00:42:22 which even by that factor would be like, all right, I mean like. Yeah, for sure. So I think if you were doing weekly and you were staying, but you know, you still have to, I don't think that's fair necessarily. I think it's just changed.
Starting point is 00:42:32 Yeah. Also at the same time though, I don't really care that I'm not as quote unquote relevant as I used to be because I don't put myself worth into my success. Relevancy is a myth.
Starting point is 00:42:43 Shut the fuck, God. Look, look, look. Did someone lace this man's beer or something? It's not the same. It's like, look, I think that like, occasionally we get comments, like, man, these guys are falling off, they get less views. Oh, no, I don't get a fuck about those guys.
Starting point is 00:42:59 By that kind of, like, metric, yes, we are, like, less relevant than we were. But I also think the trash taste is in the healthiest place it's been because it's the most consistent and we all feel like it's in a great, like, There was a point where trash taste was a lot. Yeah. We were doing way too much. Yeah. And obviously the fans loved it.
Starting point is 00:43:16 Yep. But we were like, shit. Yeah. This is a lot to balance. I mean, also in the sense of like YouTube relevancy, I guess, whether it be with trash taste or with my own personal things, it's like, I am not as, like, sad or disappointed if I'm not as relevant as I used to be or if I, you know, if the, the trajectory keeps going down because I came into this knowing fully well that I wasn't
Starting point is 00:43:38 going to be relevant for the rest of my life anyway. Like eventually, me, these guys, everybody is going to fall off. That's just how the world works. And I think that's why like I'm not as like sad or like disappointed at myself of the fact that I'm not as relevant as I used to be because it's like, oh, this is just how things go. And it's like and and you know, if it is going to keep going down, then like I'm just going to fucking make the best of it and just enjoy it while else. and then I'll be able to get out of that
Starting point is 00:44:11 with no regrets. Yeah, that's good. I was actually serious to my answer. I do think relevancy is a myth. I think the best, it's the best, the best thing I think, I think especially in our industry when you get to like, I guess a certain point
Starting point is 00:44:27 is that I think it was Lily Peachy that says relevancy can come in waves. Yeah, absolutely. Which it totally can. Sometimes you just don't like, don't have the energy or to do the grind sets to be able to be one of those people that people constantly talk about or doing big events.
Starting point is 00:44:49 You gotta put yourself out there to keep doing that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's not always what, you're lines with what you're doing right now. It's tough, man. And you're also like fucking trying to manage a clothing company. So I'm like, yeah, yeah, no shit, you got less energy for this. Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly. Like, just because you're not as relevant in one field,
Starting point is 00:45:05 doesn't mean you can't be more relevant in other fields. Yeah. I think the biggest thing that I want to avoid is just not doing anything. Yeah, or like half-arsing everything. Yeah, that's the one thing I don't want to do. Yeah, 100%. Sometimes you need a project that's,
Starting point is 00:45:21 you don't care about, it's not all about how many eyeballs are on a certain project, sometimes you need passion projects, sometimes you need to do different things. And it's not all about the social media numbers at a point. And I think, like I said, yeah, relevancy is a myth because, and, well,
Starting point is 00:45:37 Once you get to a point where you have a certain stable enough career when you can't call it a career, everything else is just bullshit. Everything else is just like, oh, who's the hot topic of the day to day? Who is everyone talking about. Yeah. And that changes all the fucking time anyway. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:45:55 And that comes and goes. Totally. Especially on the internet age where the conversation shifts so quickly that you can do like the biggest fucking event that anyone has ever heard of. In a week, everyone would already have forgotten. about it. Yeah, you know. For better or worse. Yeah, for better or worse. Yeah. Yeah. So it's coming into terms of that really. What are you lying to yourself about? What am I lying to myself about?
Starting point is 00:46:19 He's too honest with himself. Um, I don't know. This guy is too honest with I feel like I'm pretty self-aware. He's too content with you. I'm not, I'm not content. I'm actually, I'm actually like almost never content with myself. I'm always on like a half like self-improvement self- for sure. Yeah. Self-betterment. So contentment, uh, I'm actually, I think is a dangerous thing, because sometimes people can be too content. Yeah, absolutely. Too comfortable, yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:43 Oh, for sure. Yeah, yeah, people can get too comfortable. But I don't know, whenever I try, whenever I catch myself in a lie or try to be like self, like catch myself thinking something, it reflects on me a lot. And I try to change that aspect of my life. Yeah, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:47:01 I'm trying not to give a cop-out answer, but I genuinely don't know because, because I try to be as self-aware as possible. Yeah, just being honest with yourself, I think, is the healthiest thing you can do for yourself. Oh, for sure. Yeah. What's that Kurt Cobain quote?
Starting point is 00:47:14 It's like, I'd rather be hated for who I am than to be loved for who I'm not. Put that on a t-shirt. It's on a million T-shirts, right? Yeah, I know. I mean, I think I definitely lied to myself about having enough time for everything. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:31 I'm like, yeah, man, I can definitely do all this stuff. It's like, you look at the week's schedule and you're like, oh, yeah, I can probably do that. Yeah. I think it's the thing I'm worst at is that I'm like, yeah, I can definitely do all this stuff. And I'm like, I don't think I can. But I still try.
Starting point is 00:47:45 Yeah. But I keep trying, which is the bad thing. I should just cut down some stuff but I'm very reluctant to do it. Yeah, it's important to make. Other aspects of my life suffering. Yeah, it's important to make sacrifices, you know? Especially if you need it, right? Like, yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:59 I mean, like, you know, when I started nonsense, I had to sacrifice my Twitch crew essentially, or what little there was of it because I was just like, I can't do both. No, I mean, streaming is very timely too. Yeah, yeah, yeah. All right, wow. All right, we're getting deep.
Starting point is 00:48:14 All right, woo! All right, what instantly makes someone a better person in your eyes? Fuck bitch, isn't it? Massive cock. Instantly a better person? What instantly makes someone a better person in your eyes?
Starting point is 00:48:37 Ooh, we turn like a little thing or like, Like philosophical. Like, big thing, little thing. Anything, anything you can think of. Fuck, man, this is odd. Instantly what, sorry? What makes, what instantly makes someone a better person in your eyes?
Starting point is 00:48:58 I don't know give like a cop-out answer. I feel most of these are gonna be cop-out answers. I'm just trying to think because you kind of realize when you're talking about deep questions, a lot of times the most generic advice is the correct advice. Yeah. It's the advice.
Starting point is 00:49:12 It's probably why it's been said the most. Yeah, exactly, right? You realize, oh shit, that advice have, like, they have a point with that quotes. Even though I've heard it a million fucking times before. Be a good person, be a selfless person. Yeah. There's like a very little thing that I really appreciate
Starting point is 00:49:28 if like you join a conversation and then like, just one guy's like, all right, I'll introduce everyone real quick. Oh yeah, yeah. So many people don't do it. And I'm like, damn, when someone does that, it's like, okay, you thought about like everyone and how they feel. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:40 Because you really wanted to make sure everyone's ever... One thing I really like from a person, which I also try and do myself, is when you're in a group conversation and there's a particular topic that has been talked about, and maybe that person doesn't really fully understand the topic at hand, maybe because of a lack of knowledge, or maybe just because they've never heard of it before.
Starting point is 00:50:02 One quality that I really like in a person is when they're just not afraid to just, like, ask questions. Like, that's something I really like, where it's like you don't pretend to like fit in, you don't pretend to like know or anything like that way. Just being like, I admit, I don't know what you're talking about or I don't know to the extent that you guys are talking about.
Starting point is 00:50:22 But by asking a question, I want to know more about it and I'm showing that I am invested in knowing more about it. And I think that's a really, that's a really good like conversation trick that I've learned over the years of just like, it's okay if you're dumb about a particular topic because you're not supposed to know everything about everything.
Starting point is 00:50:40 So by actively asking questions and trying to know and trying to understand is a quality that a lot of people like. Yeah. So yeah, if you can do that in like a group conversation or even a one-on-one conversation, I think in most people's eyes, that's something that will instantly get you to like them. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:59 One quality that I'm trying to get better at, which I think makes people a better person, it's just I've always appreciated people who noticed like the little details or think about the little details. Like, for example, I've never really cared if someone like knows when my birthday is or anything like that, you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:51:20 I've never really cared, but I really appreciate the people who are just like, oh, this part, my friend has a birthday on this day and I wanna plan something for them, you know? And that's something that I'm like, holy shit. I'm very bad of that. Yeah, yeah, right, right? That's such a small thing that I'm like, holy shit,
Starting point is 00:51:37 you are like five universes ahead. I do not know how you're able to do this, but whenever someone does it to me, even if I don't care if no one does it or if no one like notices if it's my birthday, I really appreciate it when someone does remember. I even appreciate just people like sending me a personal line message on my birthday.
Starting point is 00:51:57 Yeah, me too, yeah. Yeah, same way. It's like, as much as it's nice to like go on social media and stuff like that, yeah, and be like, yo, happy birthday or whatever, like when it's just like a private message that only that person and me are gonna read, I'm just like, you know what he's like.
Starting point is 00:52:09 Do you sometimes forget how old You are? Yeah. Have you gone to that age yet? Yeah, sometimes the other day I was like, you're not even 30 yet. I'm not, I'm not yet because next month I'll be 30. Yeah, you know fully well, how old I am. It's not a count up. You'll be 30 next month?
Starting point is 00:52:23 I'm 30 next month. Oh, oh. When does this episode come out? Bro, forget, forget birthday. You don't remember, you remember his age. I don't, I don't. How old am I? Actually, I think this episode comes out.
Starting point is 00:52:33 How old am I? You're 32. No, it's 34. He's 34. You're fucking old, bro. What the fuck? I'm close, I'm almost mid-30, man. You're mid-30?
Starting point is 00:52:43 Yeah. I keep forgetting. Okay, so this comes out on the 21st, right? I thought you were only like five years old. Wait, what? I was just losing his mind and he's just like... Yeah, 1990, bro. Yeah, 1990.
Starting point is 00:52:57 That makes it easy. Shit, how are the towers? Yeah, no, I get it though, because like a few years ago when I was like 26 to 28, I was like, to 28, I was like, I kept forgetting. I was like, am I 26, 27? I don't know. Yeah, but like the closer you get to 30, it doesn't become, your birthday doesn't become a count up.
Starting point is 00:53:17 It's a countdown. That's how you remember. Like, I'm not 30, I am 60 years to go. Hopefully 60 days to 30, two months. You're gonna live till 90? That'd be nice. No. If I'm mobile enough at 90.
Starting point is 00:53:32 That's the big year. How many 90 year olds do you know that I'm mobile? My grandparents were. You think it just magically comes to you? Hey man, I'm related to that. I have a good chance. Genetically, I might have a good chance. I don't, Joey.
Starting point is 00:53:48 I do not want to make it to 19. I'm really praying my Japanese cyples through and that I live for a long time. You got the white family tree though. What's the, what's the- Bro, age 60, it's all downhill. Big downhill from 60. I have a 50% chance I'll be there as well.
Starting point is 00:54:04 So we got the Asian blood man. No, it's a gamble for me, It's literally a coin toss. Oh, I'm good, I'm good. At age, it's, it's, all right, pull the national. I want to hear about actually, superiors. It's literally like,
Starting point is 00:54:16 all the men in my family have died earlier than the woman. If I was, if I was a girl, I'd be like, yo, 90 at least. For me, at age 60, it's gonna be like a fear and hunger coin toss. It's like, I either just straight up die or I live till 90. Okay, next one.
Starting point is 00:54:33 Oh, I think it's Joey. Is Joe? Yeah, it's me. Reaching from the bottom. All right, what's a piece of advice that are stuck with you since you heard it? Fuck, bitches. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:54:46 I don't remember my rise and grind. Problem with a lot of these questions is that I just like, I know I have an answer. Barry didn't like the recesses of my minds, but you asked me that question and I'm just like, I'll remember shit. Someone, this one thing that I always think about so much is that everyone is always so worried
Starting point is 00:55:07 about how they're coming off. that you don't pay any mind for yourself. Like, because everyone's always constantly worried about themselves and every conversation you ever have. Everyone is more concerned with how they're coming off than how you're coming off. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:20 It's really important to like, be like, all right, how can I set the vibe here where everyone's coming? Yeah, yeah. So just remember that everyone is always thinking about themselves more than they're thinking about you. My piece of advice that my dad taught me from a young age is he said,
Starting point is 00:55:33 it's not what you know, it's who you know. And I think that has... Nepotism. Nepotism. And I think that has really come into play, especially with like our line of work, for instance. Oh, so many lines of work. So many lines of work.
Starting point is 00:55:46 That's pretty much everything. You realize that everything is their work. Get the shit away from me. I'm just. No, no, no, no, no, Joe. I'm gonna get distracted by it. But that's why like you, you, yeah. Like again, I feel, and then this is not just
Starting point is 00:55:58 because our job is this, but like, I genuinely feel that as like any other line of work that the ability to be social and make friends is still the most important. Absolutely. Yeah, absolutely. tool and useful thing in just life. Yeah. Like being social, we are,
Starting point is 00:56:11 that's the only thing we have. Selling is the best, we are social creatures. Selling is the most valuable skill you could have. That's something that I've learned, that's not a piece of advice. You know, do you wanna know a piece of advice that sticks for me that I still don't truly know
Starting point is 00:56:23 what it means, but it's so profound that it's stuck with me since I was a kid. Okay. So did you have a R.E., religious education in school? Yeah. Yes. Yeah. So we had this class one time, and I remember being like,
Starting point is 00:56:37 seven or something like that. And I can't remember what our teacher was teaching at the time. But she goes on this monologue, right? And I don't even fully remember the context. And she remember, she went on this whole monologue about how she doesn't like mushrooms. Okay. She fucking hates mushroom.
Starting point is 00:56:57 She was like, okay. So like, growing up, you know, I tried mushroom. I tried my hardest to like mushrooms. But there was just something about the mushroom that I just couldn't get over. So when you bite into the mushroom, you have that sink and then you feel the crunch. And that was just so alien to me. I couldn't wrap my head around that crunch.
Starting point is 00:57:20 And it just felt disgusting to me every time that I bit into a mushroom. No matter how good it tastes it, no matter how it was cooked, it was that crunch that stopped me from liking mushrooms. Sure. But then eventually, as I grew older and my taste palette changed over. changed over time. One day, I tried, I tried, I tried the mushroom again. And something about, and the first time I tried it, I still didn't like it. But I thought, maybe I should give this more of a chance. And I tried it and I tried it again. And eventually, I now really, really loved mushrooms. So basically, what I'm saying is, sometimes you've got to learn to love the crunch.
Starting point is 00:58:07 and I don't know what that means. I thought there's gonna be saying so profound. But you literally said there wasn't. Yeah, but that, that monologue has stuck with me. Okay. Till I don't, I'm still like, I'm still like, what was she cooking? Well, I'm still like, was she yapping?
Starting point is 00:58:23 Or was she cooking or what she, I just, like, I'm telling you this because I remember this monologue word for words. To like enjoy the uncomfortable parts. I don't know. Is it like, yeah, because I'm thinking about it, like, I think you better be racist. I just never liked those mushrooms. And then one day, I did.
Starting point is 00:58:44 Funny how people change. No, it's like I can take that as one of two ways. It's like, one is like, just because you initially condition yourself to dislike something or have a negative connotation about something, it doesn't mean that over time you can teach yourself to change ways about it and like learn to see the good in it.
Starting point is 00:59:06 Yeah. Or it's that this person just change taste power. Basically, Miss, Miss Sycamore, I'm still thinking about that monologue. I am now 34 years old. What did you mean? I need to know. This is ingrained in my mind, okay? I need, I just, what does the crunch mean?
Starting point is 00:59:30 What does the crunch mean? You know, it's one piece of advice I've kept. Always take the Bible. Never take the money. Always take the Bible. Always. I think about that and way more than I should. The Bible and the money.
Starting point is 00:59:46 I mean, that is such a good story. It's just like, what was the message here? I always think about it. I always think about it. It's like chase the bag. I just always think about that fucking story. And how many times they told it? Like three or four times it was told it
Starting point is 01:00:01 that cost like six years. And nobody ever thought, this is kind of dumb. Oh my God. Do you know like a fucking actually good piece of advice? My, fuck, head teacher. I was like, what is the English word for principal? And I was like, head teacher. Okay.
Starting point is 01:00:18 So every time, every- She didn't teach, by the way. She never teaches. Why did we call the head teacher? Which is the head of the teachers? Yeah, the head of the teachers. Yeah, so every time, every day, every day when we had assembly,
Starting point is 01:00:30 the head teacher would like make a speech to the school. And every day? Not every day. Once a week, once a week, every Friday. Yeah, okay, I couldn't remember, yeah. But like regularly, basically make a speech for the students before, I think it was either the beginning or end of the week.
Starting point is 01:00:48 Mushrooms, huh? Yeah. Like, why does everyone hate mushrooms? And he'd always try to encourage everyone to do well and he'd always end with the line, failing to prepare is preparing to fail. And that is always trained. That has been ingrained in my mind ever since.
Starting point is 01:01:08 Yeah, yeah. You never heard that before? I've never heard that. That's a bar. That's a bar, right? I feel like I've heard, maybe it's a Britishism, but I swear this is a popular.
Starting point is 01:01:17 Because I've only heard him say it. I've never heard, I've never heard anyone else say it about my head teacher. Type it in, it'll pop up. Failing to prepare is preparing to fail. Yeah, this is definitely a quote. That goes so hard. Wait, did your headmaster's you do Bible verses? No.
Starting point is 01:01:31 Dude, mine should fucking Bible verses, dude. I actually know they did. Holy shit, I just forgot about that. It's fucking Benjamin Franklin. Is it? Oh yeah, my failing to have. Oh shit. Literally one of the most quoted like fucking hard.
Starting point is 01:01:42 Hard, bro. Britishism, kind of. Yeah, Ben was spitting. Oh, I'm my science teacher when he'd get us. I'd never heard that before from fucking Benjamin Franklin. I've never heard of it. My science, my science teacher who, uh, whenever he tried to pick up like the rubbish in the class
Starting point is 01:02:01 and clean up, he'd always end with, Remember, guns don't kill people. Rappers do. What? What? That's crazy. That's how he ended. Every time, every time he's just like,
Starting point is 01:02:20 yo, pick up the rubbish guys. Pick up the rubbish. Oh, do you mean rappers? Yeah, like rappers, like sweet rappers. I was like, damn, you'll sign teach a mad racist. Like, yo. What the fuck? God damn, I'm just remembering how many fucking quotes
Starting point is 01:02:39 I remember from a school man. Yeah, Jesus Christ. If you want to kid your kids to remember something, just make a fucking profound, profound quotes. Just an out of pocket, fucking... Yeah, just an out of pocket quote. Oh my God. It's a good question.
Starting point is 01:02:51 Okay. Do you believe everyone has a calling? If so, do you think I've found mine? Well, considering the fact that I applied for McDonald's when I was 14 and I got rejected, you know, at a place where they are basically... handing out jobs. You don't find your calling right away.
Starting point is 01:03:06 I think my calling was this. I'm sure like a protege. No, yeah, yeah, I mean. If you were like Joey Bissinger God of piano, then yeah, I'm sure maybe from age 10 we can figure it out that was your calling. Right, right. But clearly it wasn't my calling.
Starting point is 01:03:20 I mean, I'm talking my calling in terms of like occupation. Where do you feel like you've found your calling now? Like the thing you were put on this planet to do? 100%. I don't, I like, I think my, what, ended up becoming my job is the job that I can't see myself not doing. Fair enough. You know, it's like, just because like, everything that I've built myself up to in terms of
Starting point is 01:03:46 like my interests and like, you know, the fact that I've, I've always been very much a creative person since a kid and always down to like try new things and explore new things. Like this occupation was built for someone like me. And like I can't, and, you know, I'm very blessed at that and I'm glad I'm able to do that. because, you know, after I interned at a Japanese IT company for three months, I was like, hell the fuck, no, this is not my calling. I thought it was until I tried it and I was like,
Starting point is 01:04:14 nah, this ain't it. So you think there's no other thing on earth that you've been called to more, this is like the thing? Other than like music, I guess, but like, I don't know if that's my calling or not. I think everyone has a calling. You think everyone has put on this earth to do something? Is that what it means?
Starting point is 01:04:32 Kind of, it's kind of like you, You were born and there was something that was made for you. What if your call, what if your, this hole was made for me. This is my hole. What if your calling was to do nothing? That's a calling. Is that still a calling? That's the calling.
Starting point is 01:04:49 Then I would say yes, everyone has a calling. Is that a calling? I, look, I, What if your calling is to just exist? Look, I don't think everyone has a calling. I think it's like a comfort thing that we tell ourselves. We need to figure out what is the definition of a call. Calling.
Starting point is 01:05:05 Calling is like what you were like put here to do. Like what you feel like there was, in a hundred timelines of Joey's life, he would end up doing the same thing. Right. It's like you, there's only one thing that is right for Joey to do. Right.
Starting point is 01:05:16 I don't think there is always one thing. I think you can have, I have a different definition of a calling. Okay, what's your calling on? Something, because it calls to you. It's like Joey, be a YouTuber. This is like the calling. Yeah, I think that's,
Starting point is 01:05:34 that's where the bait is. I think, I think in that sense. That's the fucking meaning of the word. In that sense, I wouldn't say YouTube is my call. No, no, no. To be creative or something, actually. Yeah, to be creative is my call. I think it depends on how specific you're getting
Starting point is 01:05:47 because I don't think a calling. Sometimes you just have a passion. You work at the mall and Manchester on the first, four days away. It is your calling. Sometimes you have an activity or things that make you satisfied that don't just pertain to one specific job.
Starting point is 01:06:04 but one specific career. But I do think everyone has a role that they serve better and they feel more fulfilled with than other roles or other things. I wouldn't say that's calling. I mean, like I said that. All right, if I can look it up, what's the definition? The word calling is like, it's like a strong,
Starting point is 01:06:23 like, because you're being called to it. It's like, it's like, there's like this cosmic flow of things that is dragging you to the urge. A strong urge towards a particular way of life or career, a vocation. You know what I mean? Like it's like you are, this is like what you are being pushed towards.
Starting point is 01:06:38 Like everything in your being is like, is trying to push you towards this. Then, then my calling would be to, it was, well, yeah, would be to have a job where I am paid to be creative. That would be my calling. And I would say I achieved that calling. Fair enough.
Starting point is 01:06:56 If we're being super non-specific, then yeah. I enjoy solving problems and, that's the engineer in me and I would say even though I'm in a creative job my job right now allows me to solve a lot of problems constantly and
Starting point is 01:07:14 you know try to tackle different things consistently you know it depends on like you said what that calling is you know it's how specific are you going is it one thing is it just using one particular skill set is it another thing because
Starting point is 01:07:31 yeah I think like a everyone has a calling for some activity or something they do that makes them feel satisfied in their life. Yeah. Whether the calling means. That's more so like a purpose, I'd say. Would you define, would you define a calling in the same respect that you would define, like,
Starting point is 01:07:49 destiny? Like, it was my destiny. I know, yeah, yeah. I think of them is almost like interchangeable. Right. So would you say then you have, you have ended up in a spot that you could say was, it was a destiny to do what you're doing?
Starting point is 01:08:03 right now. No, it's circumstance. Right. So you wouldn't say there's a calling. No, like, no, for sure or not. Okay. Okay. Did you soulmates? Uh, uh, look, the problem with that question is if you say no and you, you, you marry someone. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It sounds like you, like, like, like, like, babe, it was circumstance. Yeah. Yeah. Because God, let's have, let's, let's, let's break down facts, right? If you were, if you were born in like 20 20 miles away from where you were, you probably would not have married the same. person. It's just like, it's just how we are. Like, because we're not meant to find like,
Starting point is 01:08:38 this makes romance sounds so sad. But like you, would you meant to find someone? And we find someone and then learn to love them, I think. That is a part of being human. And there are aspects that you maybe love right off the bat. Yeah. But I think being human is learning that like you, you find someone, you find interesting,
Starting point is 01:08:59 and then you fall in love with them. Yes. I don't think you fall in love with someone like one one conversation. You don't believe in love at first sight. No, fuck you. And I'm sorry, I've only ever heard creeps use that. Oh, that's true.
Starting point is 01:09:10 Yeah, that's true. No, you saw her quadruple dip, do you? Let's be honest, start, come on, that we're like, you know, like, I think that, look, like, I'd love to be like, look, I do think there's romance, I think there are a lot of stuff like that that's for sure real, but like. But it's gradual, yeah.
Starting point is 01:09:26 Yeah, but like, you know, the stuff that is true and the stuff that we can like to feel in our head. Yeah. That doesn't take away from romance or anything like that. Yeah, you're not saying romance is dead. You're just saying that romance isn't as like instantaneous as people see. It's not a fucking Disney movie.
Starting point is 01:09:41 Yeah, exactly. And that's fine. Life doesn't have to be a Disney movie. Yeah. Yeah. Look, if I marry someone and they ask me that, do I feel as a summit? Yeah, of course. 100%.
Starting point is 01:09:50 You know what I mean? Like, between the boys. You're in the boys. You're on the boys. Your honor? Soulmates, I believe in Soulmates. I didn't believe in Soulmates until she. pulled the ring out.
Starting point is 01:10:01 You know, I guess she's my soulmate now. On the altar. I'm sure everyone who's had like five, like there are so many people who have like two or three divorces. I'm sure they all felt like they were, they'd met their soulmate until they didn't. Like you have been upgraded to soulmate.
Starting point is 01:10:15 Like let's just be real. That's true. That's true. Like it is, I think truly like finding your soulmate is learning, shit, there's a lot of things out of change about myself. Like that,
Starting point is 01:10:26 you know what I mean? Totally. I hate to be it. But like, do I think there's a calling? I think it's like, I think it's like romance. It's all about like, you are.
Starting point is 01:10:33 That's why I asked, because the fucking wording you are using is like, it's my destiny. You are a product of what is around you and you do the best with what you're given. Yeah. Now look, if you put me on a ship on the 1800s, yeah, I'd ride that thing. And I would conquer lands.
Starting point is 01:10:47 No doubt. It's your destiny. Was I born 200 years too late? Some say that. Who are some? Me. I would have thrived. Am I disappointed slightly?
Starting point is 01:10:59 Listen, all I'm saying is that I wouldn't have got scurvy. I would have, right, I would have destroyed those seeds. I love lemons. Oh, fuck. Yeah, I mean, no, I do agree with you, though, on the, the calling thing. It's so subjective and, like, at the end of the day, realistically speaking, it is so substantial. Isn't it fucking stupid that if you're like second name is baker, you are more likely to be a baker than someone who isn't? Like, I think that alone should remove any kind of expectation.
Starting point is 01:11:29 you have of like, fake, yes. I don't know, you've spread so much. You spread so much. I'm telling you. I don't believe anything you say to you. I just made this the fuck up. That sounds like, if this is the one thing
Starting point is 01:11:44 that's right out of everything that you've said today, that just, this just sounds like bait. When do you hear this? What did you hear this from? Are you more likely to be a baker if you're named baker? Let's, all right, let's find out. I believe this is bullwere.
Starting point is 01:11:59 And I am calling this out. This is, there is no way. There, I don't know, man. You know what, I know more bakers that are not named Baker and I know people who named bakers that are- Oh, that's called, I was called. The only- All results, Palom and his colleagues argue show that we've had a tendency
Starting point is 01:12:18 to be implicitly egocentric. We're unconsciously drawn to things that resemble aspects of ourselves. Perhaps a way to boost self-esteem. That is a whole load of Nothenberger. Yeah. It basically, it's basically saying, I mean, if you want, you can be a baker. Actually, my second name, my secret second name is YouTube.
Starting point is 01:12:39 My secret second, my secret second name is Giga Chattach. A 2004 study found that people are disproportionately likely to marry individuals whose names resemble their own. A 2007 study revealed that baseball players whose name began with K strike out more often, weird. And a two thousand years of the consumers' birthday numbers affect their purchase intentions. With this on 24th, prices that end in 24
Starting point is 01:12:59 more attractive. Well, that's the whole thing of like, oh, if, you know, people tend to choose lucky numbers based on their birthdays. And it's like people being like, well, shit, if it was heads nine, 19 times in a row, it's gotta be heads, I would definitely won't be heads the next time.
Starting point is 01:13:14 Yeah. Because the universe has to fix itself. It's like, well, actually, well, and that's just a, that gambler's foul, so it's very, yeah, yeah, that's just. But like, people think dumb shit, is what I'm trying to say.
Starting point is 01:13:25 Yeah. Like, people trying to touch. Well, stats just don't make sense. Statistics, how so. They don't make sense. They don't make like logical. Not logical. Of course they do, that's the whole point.
Starting point is 01:13:34 Logical is the wrong word. Realistic sense? Not realistic. What's like... Can you give me an example of a thing that you feel like doesn't make sense? Yeah, like you have a game show with like three doors or something.
Starting point is 01:13:47 The Marty Hall paradox? Yeah, yeah, yeah, that paradox. And I don't know what the right word I'm looking for. It's not logical, but... Intuitive. Intuitive. Sometimes it just doesn't... make like intuitive sense, you know.
Starting point is 01:14:03 Where- That's why it's a paradox, gone. What do you mean why is a paradox? If it made, if it didn't make intuitive sense, then it wouldn't establish itself as something that makes sense. I think paradox is something fucking different, mate. That's the coldest answer I've ever gone from. That is the coldest line you've said. That was hot, I got goosebumps.
Starting point is 01:14:24 Oh, damn. Wait, wait, wait, wait. You said that in bold italics. Did I actually? I was like, I think I want, fuck me. Fuck, I'm like too, I'm like, I'm just trying to make conversation. Wait, wait, wait.
Starting point is 01:14:35 What do you mean by that? What do you mean by that? No, no, I don't think that's more, uh, I don't think that's what, uh, what did Joey say again? I don't know, I don't know, man. So wait, wait, okay, okay, with that, with that, would that,
Starting point is 01:14:48 do you wanna explain the, the Monty Hall paradox? Is that the one where you, if you get offered, there's two, like there's a, three doors. So there's two failures. So, if you're on a game show, and there are three closed doors, and the host says, behind one of these doors
Starting point is 01:15:02 is your prize, behind the other two doors, there is nothing. And you pick one door. And so the host goes, pick a door. So let's say for example, you go, I'm feeling good about number one. So you pick number one. But before they reveal the answer,
Starting point is 01:15:14 the host opens up one of the other two doors and shows that it is empty. Yeah. Right? So do you keep the door? So do you keep your first choice or do you change your option? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:15:25 You change. Well, see, apparently there, there's like some weird statistics shit that happened. You change, right? I think you just... No, no, no, no. No, it's two-thirds chance.
Starting point is 01:15:34 There's a higher chance as the other door. Now, by doing it, by them just revealing this piece of information. Yeah, because you chose the information when it was a one out of three. Yeah. And now you can choose when it's a one out of two. Yeah, but like... So you should swap. But it's something where apparently if you switch your choice, there's a two out of three chance.
Starting point is 01:15:51 Yeah, there's two out of three chance. That's by just showing... Even though when you picked them, not knowing any of three chance, not knowing any chance. information about what's behind by like what's beneath like the three doors by just picking a door and then the host showing one of the doors the other choice now has more of a chance even though even though yeah of course it does yeah because you've just gotten rid of one no no no but then because you're you made a choice
Starting point is 01:16:22 when it was one out of three right yeah so the odds are is that you you chose a bad so you should swap when given the opportunity to do so when it's a less amount. Because now you're taking a 50-50. What do you mean? Because you did, okay. You did the choice when it was three, right? Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:16:42 Am I crazy? Okay, no, what, what's, basically, what is like, unintuitive to me about this? Oh, because you're saying that like door one or two, could have always been the bad one from the start. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, but no, no, no. So here we go. So the guy who came up with this paradox says
Starting point is 01:17:03 that the contestant should switch to the other door. By the standard assumptions, the switching strategy has a two out of three probability of winning the prize, while the strategy of keeping the initial choice only has a one out of three probability. Even though on the surface, it's 50-50. Yeah. So you still don't- That's why it's a paradox.
Starting point is 01:17:20 Yeah, that's- that's- Because on the surface, it should be equal amount of chance. Yeah. But statistically it is not. Yeah. Somehow. There still doesn't make sense to me. It doesn't make sense to me.
Starting point is 01:17:33 Yeah. Because to me, intuitively, just by me showing a door, it shouldn't change the probability of the original one in three probability. Yeah. At all and it should just become a 50-50. Because by showing me an empty door, like intuitively, my brain goes, okay, it's still a 50-50 chance. But no, by just showing me that piece of information,
Starting point is 01:17:54 the other door is now a two out of three. three chance, which intuitively, I'm like, what the fuck? Yeah, that makes no sense. This makes no sense. Three chance. Yeah, yeah, exactly. That's why like, that's why with this one, I've known this paradox for so long and to this day,
Starting point is 01:18:12 I don't understand how that works. Yeah. That's, that's, and that's the whole point. The human brain is just not wired for statistics. That's the bottom line? It is the bottom fucking line. Because you're making a, no, I think I can't understand, because you kind of understand.
Starting point is 01:18:29 Because you haven't removed the other door, it's still in play. Yeah. So it's still a, you basically have a 50-50, but you have an extra one for free. So it would go to 60-6. But why is the two out of three not on the door you picked? No, why is it not 50-50?
Starting point is 01:18:44 Or why is it not 50-50? Because there's three doors. Yes. Okay, no, no, I understand that. But then why does the two out of three chance go to the door you didn't pick as opposed to the door you picked. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:18:55 Because you now, when you did the first choice, it was a one out of three before you got the information. Yes. So now you have three doors, you get revealed one. Yes. So there's still three doors there, right? Yeah. So then when you swap, you made a choice of a gap, like one of those two being right.
Starting point is 01:19:11 Yeah. So your probability of getting one of those two right is what, like one out of two, right? Yeah. So when you add the other door to it, there are now three doors. So you essentially have two out of three. Because you already know one of them for sure.
Starting point is 01:19:25 So by swapping, you've made a choice of 50-50 with the added one being like three essentially. When you kept it initially, you made that decision when it was still one out of three. Yeah, but- So you didn't make a choice when it was two out of three. So the probability of your chances didn't change. Right?
Starting point is 01:19:44 Yes. So when you make the second choice. Statistically, that makes sense. Yeah. But realistically, you only, it's a fifth, it should be. be a 50. Yeah, yeah, obviously like the 50-50 aspect
Starting point is 01:19:56 of it doesn't feel great to like, because you're still picking between two things. Yeah, yeah. But because you got given the information for free, it's like, okay, it's technically not a 50-50 because your chance of getting it now is technically higher because you removed for one of those barriers. So it would be two out of three.
Starting point is 01:20:12 I still don't get it. I guess that's the whole point of a paradox, isn't it? Yeah, like I don't think it makes sense because you're still making a choice between two things. Yeah, but the information is giving you Yeah, your, well, the information- Because there's still three doors. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 01:20:26 Right. The intuitive thing that doesn't make sense is that the information that you are given didn't affect your choice, you know, and it shouldn't affect, and the only information you're getting is that nothing, that there's nothing behind this door. So this is why I failed statistics in engineering class. It was the one, it was the one module
Starting point is 01:20:46 that pretty much everyone failed. And I just think stats just doesn't make fucking sense. I love stats though. I love stats. I love fighting out about stats. Like this is great, I love this. This is so cool. Isn't that cool though?
Starting point is 01:20:59 It is cool. I will admit that, but it fucking freaks me. Our brains are so fucking simple that this is like a hard thing to think about. You're like, damn, two out of three, huh? What a doozy. It's just weird that the universe is programmed in this way. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 01:21:15 That's kind of fucked up. But that's what I love, I also love the, when I mentioned earlier, I love the gambler's fallacy. Yeah. It's like if you flip like 10,000 coins, it'll eventually be like near 50-50. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:21:25 But the odds of you getting like 20 heads in a row is still like, well actually in a row back to back, but each individual coin toss is still 50-50. Yeah. So like the end of the day it's still 50-50. Yeah, so if you, because like the odds of you getting like 19 in a, 19, so if you did 19 heads in a row, the odds you're getting 20 in a row is still 50-50.
Starting point is 01:21:45 Yeah. But the odds of you're getting tails is still 50-50. Yeah, so it's cool. I think it's awesome. And that's why I don't gamble. Uh, yeah, you should just, that's why the roulette wheels, when they have that shit on the screen, don't fucking look at that.
Starting point is 01:21:57 Yeah, yeah. It's just a scam. It doesn't do anything. And everyone, everyone's like, damn, uh, they, the cold numbers five. Yeah, I mean, it just landed on zero. It's not gonna land on zero again. Yep. It's like, nope, still the same.
Starting point is 01:22:07 All right, what have you tolerated from people in the past that you no longer have space- Your shit, Joe. No. But, well, you're gonna have to still tolerate with it. Um, that's a good question, actually. I definitely have changed. Um,
Starting point is 01:22:21 What have you tolerated from people in the past that you no longer have space for? It's fucking gossip, man. Honestly, it's a boring answer, but... Yo, true. I'm fucking sick of that shit, though. He speaks. Yo, he cooking.
Starting point is 01:22:37 You know, back when I was younger in high school and, like, you know, even in college and stuff like that, like people would fucking talk shit behind each other's backs and, you know, gossip about stuff that was sometimes true, sometimes not true. And, you know, because you were so... At that time, you're young, you're still wanting to be, you know,
Starting point is 01:22:54 a part of a social circle of some, you know, in some aspect, right? So, you know, a lot of people would just like cling onto it or, you know, at least try and pretend to be interested in it. Nowadays, man, I'm too old for that shit. Like, it's just, it doesn't go anywhere most of the time. It was it, everyone's time. It doesn't like changing. What was the question worded again?
Starting point is 01:23:15 Sorry, I forgot. What's one, what have you tolerated from people in the past that you no longer have space for. I tolerated in the past, but now I'm just like, if anyone starts talking gospel, I'm just like, shut up. See, Joe, Joey, Joe, like, I remember an earlier question was just like,
Starting point is 01:23:31 yeah, what's the biggest lie you tell yourself? Yeah. Yeah, I can't lie, man. I have the same mindset as you, but sometimes, like you love gossip. But sometimes the tea is exquisite, man. Yeah, sometimes I do like a bit of golf. I know, actually, I like, Joey, are you lying to yourself?
Starting point is 01:23:47 Because sometimes, Because sometimes, sometimes. I like it's like gotten, it's like completely removed. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. Like, same here. Like, I don't know the post, I don't even like, not even like a friend of the person. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 01:23:58 If there's like no connection between me and the gossip, I'm like, oh, tell me. Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly. Yeah, if it's got something to do with, like, you know, someone I actually know or I'm friends with, then I'm just like, listen, man. Yeah. It's, that shit is exhausting.
Starting point is 01:24:10 Let's leave it out. But some, but if I see like a Dxterito article about a random, like, Twitch streamer, and then I'm like, I need to know more. Not even that. Sometimes you're just like, oh, I heard a, I heard this person did this and I'm just like, shit.
Starting point is 01:24:22 Ooh. I kind of wanna know. Give me the deeds. Like, it's not when you're like directly evolved. It's when it's that like, when you're like one person removed. Yes. That you kind of know the people around. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:24:34 But like you're just like, you know you shouldn't be curious, but some part of you is just like, but I kind of want to know. I kind of want to know what happened, but I kind of want to know what happened between the history of that friend group, you know. And I hate the fact. Yeah, this is the reason why the phrase
Starting point is 01:24:48 Curiosity killed can exist, you know? And I hate the fact, because I've been trying to like, get away from gossip and get away from, of course. Yeah, I agree. That is the right mindset, Joey. Thank you. But again, I can't lie to myself.
Starting point is 01:25:00 I, it's just, it is. It is. Sometimes it's juicy. It is juicy. I will admit that, yes, it is juicy. And you just like, there's a part of your curiosity that it's just like, ooh-hoo, okay. Yeah, you know, sometimes I'm just like,
Starting point is 01:25:12 I don't wanna hear this shit, I'm past that, I'm better than that and then sometimes I'm just like, I have to know. Yeah, yeah. I can't think of anything. Fuck, I wish I had anything good for this. I generally can't think of anything.
Starting point is 01:25:23 Um, uh, is there like a, like a personality trait or something that you used to like not even like kind of second guess it, but now you're kind of just like, nah, I don't want that in my life. Um, it's not a single specific like personality trait. Um, this is more of like a me thing. I just, what was the question again? What have you tolerated from people in the past that you no longer have space for?
Starting point is 01:25:54 I've tolerated myself thinking that I need to be liked. I'm tolerated myself. Yeah, yeah, tolerates myself to think that I need to be in contact and to be, have as get as many friends as possible. Right. I really like flip that question around because I can't think of what I.
Starting point is 01:26:11 Yeah, no, I can't think of anything. What I couldn't tolerate? Um, I think, uh, I can't tolerate people that I don't feel comfortable enough to have like a deeper conversation with actually. That's all, like, I'm sorry, those fuckers. Yeah. Like all, all of my friends, I think that, like every single friends, I haven't had a deep conversation with everyone. But if I feel like I, like, I didn't have that barrier or if I had a barrier where I couldn't go to them for any certain. and reason, then that's something that I wouldn't be able to tolerate anymore. Yeah, no, for sure. I wish I had an answer, I don't have anything. Yeah, yeah, I'm trying to think.
Starting point is 01:26:50 These are tough, I like, just, I'm, maybe there's an answer when I go home, I'm like, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. What's been keeping you sane lately? Drugs! No kidding, I'm gonna. Preach, brother! No, I don't know, carbonated water. What's been keeping me sane?
Starting point is 01:27:11 Salads. Coffee? Coffee? Yeah, coffee's kinda good one. Oh, this is a boring question. This is a fucking lame-ass question. Lame question. It's drug.
Starting point is 01:27:22 There is, yeah, I mean, I'm gonna ask a question. Drugs and alcohol is the only fan. I'm gonna ask you a question. What's up? Unless you got a question. He does have a question. That's a shit question. I can't know, my.
Starting point is 01:27:33 What's your question? When did you realize you weren't the main character? What? I never thought I was the main character. God, I'm still the main character. I am the emcee of my world. I mean, obviously you feel like you've protagonist moments, but I never felt like I was like, the guy.
Starting point is 01:27:52 I don't think I ever, like, honestly, I don't think I ever had a moment where like, I was like, yeah, I'm the main character. I thought that this was pretty good. Oh, I don't think I've ever had that moment either. It's, uh, what is it? What's your favorite compliment to receive? Ooh.
Starting point is 01:28:07 Now when you say this, anytime anyone is at watch this episode, we'll always tell us the other things. Um, so I, so I'm gonna choose. choose my second favorite, just to keep my number one private. And, and, uh, you gotta be cock. It's like, I'd fuck the shit out of you if I could. You know what? Uh, you know what?
Starting point is 01:28:29 I'm, I'm, I'm, it doesn't matter what compliment. Coppout. Sometimes, sometimes, the best compliment is just an unprompt, I completely unprompted, compliment that just comes out of nowhere, you know? I'd just, I'd just, shit. You might be right. Cop out, cop out.
Starting point is 01:28:53 He's kinda, he's kinda spitting, but also a slight cop out. Why is that a cop out? Why is that a cop out? That's a cop out. Bro, bro. Yeah, give me specific. Bro, okay, okay, sometimes, you know, so you say, say you're out of coffee shop or something. And, uh, and, you know, there's, this, there's someone who's serving you. And they're like, oh, you have a nice smile.
Starting point is 01:29:15 Who says that? No one says that. I've never said that. You never heard you know. No one has ever told you about. No one has ever told you about that. Or they're like, oh, I like your shirt. Because they're lying.
Starting point is 01:29:27 No, I like that. Yeah, I like that. Yeah, I like that. I like your shirt, man. Or like you look good today. Yeah. It's like, yeah. It's just like, it's just like,
Starting point is 01:29:36 it's just like the one compliment, it's just like the unprompted compliment that you just don't expect. Number one compliment. I love to hear Bihongo Josu. I know your favorite compliment. You I, why boy. No one has ever said that to me.
Starting point is 01:29:55 It's a preface. No one has ever said that. This is a shit one. I got to stop saying it to you all this. You I, Y, Y, boy. Oh, God. Oh, I'm going to piss real quick. What insecurity of yours hold you back the most?
Starting point is 01:30:15 A decent one. Oh. I mean, I could say like something generic, like fear of failing. That's lame. That's lame. That's lame. But it is true. For a lot of people, a lot of people I've talked to,
Starting point is 01:30:30 the biggest insecurity that holds them back is just fear of failing. Oh, for sure. Some people just don't want to try so they don't fail. Yeah, of course. What's your biggest insecurity that holds you back? Joey the most. My biggest insecurity that holds me back. Yeah, well, I'll hold you back the most, yeah.
Starting point is 01:30:47 Um, God, I don't know. Uh, I don't know, what did you guys say? I don't know, I'm trying to think. Yeah, bolding. I was saying like, no, I don't know. Wish I was better at Japanese, but I feel like I'm okay, but I just wanna, wish I was fucking fluent. I think my biggest insecurity.
Starting point is 01:31:10 That's not an insecurity. Is that? Yeah, I got something insecure about it. Oh, okay, okay. I wish I was better. A little bit. I wish I was better. But I think there's no point I would.
Starting point is 01:31:20 Yeah, but that's something you can fix over time. Yeah, but I don't think there's any level I'd be out where I wouldn't feel that way. Yeah. Oh, well, I mean, yeah, like, it's kind of the same as me. I could be as fluent as possible, but, you know, not everyone is going to, like, value me as like a Japanese person. You know, that's something as well.
Starting point is 01:31:35 Oh, I've got my insecurity. I don't know why I said that so fucking. I go on. I go on. Me, me, me, me, me. I am afraid that I'm a boring person. Really? Yeah, no, I was saying that about you.
Starting point is 01:31:47 Yeah. Yeah. Like, I finally here. Oh, wow, what a shock. What a way. I'm glad you said it and not me. I was gonna say that. Really? You think you're a boring person?
Starting point is 01:32:01 Yeah, I mean, sometimes it's like the intrusive thoughts to be like, that's crazy that you think that. You're fucking boring. I don't think anyone is... I don't think there's a single person who's deemed you as boring. If someone said that, I would think that's fucking crazy. Yeah, I would think like,
Starting point is 01:32:15 Will you say Cindy said the same thing? Oh, Cindy said, of course you're fucking not. Well, oh, I think that's Sydney said the same thing. I was like, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I got married. By the way, you're fucking boring and I hate you. You think you're boring? I don't know, it's just like insecure.
Starting point is 01:32:32 What do you, like, okay, so like you must have a frame of reference. Like, why do you, I mean, if I'm allowed to ask, why do you feel like in my, like, go that way? I don't know, I just always feel like, the people around me are just like so interesting and so much more interesting than me a lot. Which look at you too, man, look at you too. Look at the people around me.
Starting point is 01:32:49 How do you know, look at the people around me? I have the genetic gene pool of white grant, bro. What do you mean? I'm not the most standard average dude ever. Well, let's not put ourselves down, all right? We're all not boring, okay? I don't know, it's just like an insecurity. I think I've fought with ever since I was like a kid.
Starting point is 01:33:08 No, that's crazy. Yeah, I don't know, I don't know. I don't know where it came from this. Probably like some childhood trauma. that made me think this way. Someone's called you a boring one time and you've just, it's been right there this whole time.
Starting point is 01:33:22 Yeah, probably, probably, right? I feel like stuff like that does happen though. You do have that one comment that just for some reason, festered just hits you. I don't know, sometimes like, expand. You realize how much of your, like,
Starting point is 01:33:32 your personality is all like, unless you, like, properly think about it all stems from like one moment when you were a kid that you don't even fucking remember anymore. I feel like I'd be terrified to be an adult
Starting point is 01:33:42 and raising a kid, I'm like, what if I just like say the wrong thing and now he's a furry. You're boring. I'm kidding, by that. Yeah, I think maybe that stem from, but maybe when I was a kid,
Starting point is 01:33:53 when everyone was just like, oh, you're a quiet boy, you're a quiet boy. Oh, they kept calling you quiet. Yeah, yeah. But in my personal experience, like, you know, there were quiet kids in my class and in my friend group, but those were usually the guys and girls
Starting point is 01:34:06 who, once they opened up, they were the fucking life of the party. You know, like, it's, it's that initial wall that you needed to kind of, get over to really see how they actually are. And I feel a lot of those kinds of quiet kids actually ended up being some of the most fun to hang out with.
Starting point is 01:34:23 And I think it's just a matter of like getting them to make sure that they're comfortable with like, hey, it's all right man. Like you don't, you know, if you don't wanna be quiet and if you wanna like be yourself, then this is a space, this is a friend group. Like, you know, we are people that you can be yourself with and you're not gonna fucking judge you over it.
Starting point is 01:34:40 You know, sometimes some of those quiet kids are not in situations like that and they start to see, self-doubt and be like, oh, you know, maybe I am boring, maybe I am too quiet and all that. And they, you know, they fests that negative emotion about themselves and then that lasts. But yeah, I don't know.
Starting point is 01:34:55 I think it's a product of your environment, I think. I'm always worried about gaining white. That's just an adult insecurity. That is an adult insecurity. But at the same time, I'm like, fuck this. I'm gonna eat what the fuck I want. So it's like, it's kind of like too much. I had a muffin, bro.
Starting point is 01:35:11 And I know that there's zero benefit to a muffin. Yeah, not just any muffin. I don't know peanut butter, just be fair. But hey, I was not complaining. It was delightful. But look, I also recognize that look, I'm on this earth for so many years. I wanna eat it, do it, eat good.
Starting point is 01:35:28 Yeah, man. I love food too much. I do too. I do too. I always have. And I just think there's not a, sorry, like, I'm worried about it, but I'm also like, I wanna eat what I want,
Starting point is 01:35:36 I wanna drink what I want. But I want, I mean, this, I guess this one kind of links back to that. What are you overthinking right now? Um, shit. Some people overthink their insecurities. Sometimes I always overthink, like, you know, when you have a conversation,
Starting point is 01:35:50 you're like, shit, did I say something bad? I always get there and I'm like, and I replay it, I'm like, did I say something bad? No, it's pretty fun. Oh, I know a lot of people like that. Even though like I know I did, like, and I have to like, I know I just didn't say anything, but I'm like, maybe I did come off
Starting point is 01:36:03 as a little harsh. Yeah, I mean, I know a lot of people who are like that. I think that's perfectly normal, to be honest. Yeah, I mean, I think it's, I think in some ways it's, good to be like aware of what you said. Yeah. But at the same time, like, I know that most of the time
Starting point is 01:36:18 it's very unproductive. Well, I think, I think to a certain limit, right? Like if you're able to think retrospectively and kind of from a third person view of like, how you were in a situation, yeah, then I think that's fine. But I think ruminating on it for a long period of time, that's when it starts getting unhealthy, you know? Yeah, I think I've just gone used to the fact
Starting point is 01:36:36 that I'm just like my own worst self-critic. Yeah, 100%. You know, there's this. I think you have to be. I'm my biggest hater. Yeah. I'm my biggest hater and that means that whatever someone says to me, it's like normally like way less than what I say to myself.
Starting point is 01:36:49 And I say this without being like bringing myself too down. Yeah. You know, I've had to kind of learn how to balance being a critic versus being a hater. Because I think, I think being your own self-critic is different from being your own self-hater. Yes. I definitely used to be on like the more latter side of things when I was younger.
Starting point is 01:37:09 Yeah. And I had to learn to deal with that. Okay. Look at us. It's maturing. Look at us. How are you really? How are you really?
Starting point is 01:37:17 What does that mean? Really. How am I really? Yeah. I think I think all three of us are not doing this show especially, I'm not afraid to show who we really are. Yeah, I mean I'm not like an eight out of ten. Like, happiness wise?
Starting point is 01:37:33 Oh, happiness wise. I was like about yourself. No, I'm a 10 out of 10. Yeah, okay, that's a good question. If you had to rate yourself out of 10. In what sense? Personality, looks, the entire package. The entire package.
Starting point is 01:37:45 Fuck. What would you, what would you rate yourself? SSR. Yeah, I'm like a six. I'm a modest six. But I kind of realized that, MDB 7 out of 10. Without turning this into a fucking, you know.
Starting point is 01:38:00 Suck off. No, no, without turning into this, this fucking, you know, in-cell talk. Oh, first, only fucking the most pristine, fucking jawline. The most pristine, I think, uh, I think in terms of like looks and physical appearance, a lot of guys underestimates the value of just taking care of yourself.
Starting point is 01:38:23 Yeah. Yeah. It's just, just taking care of yourself and just having like, not even like, just looking like- We're not all gonna be immaculate Greek god statute. Yeah, yeah, exactly. We can definitely help us out. Oh, 100%. Yeah. Just, just making sure that you dress well enough.
Starting point is 01:38:39 You don't have to be, I'm gonna go out of drip, a drip company or whatever. But just looking like you have a style, looking like you groom yourself, take care of yourself. Yeah. Not that kind of way, thank you very much.
Starting point is 01:38:56 Yeah. Debate all in some days. That just, just that much goes a long way. And then all you need to focus on is just having a decent personality, which you think shouldn't be hard, but apparently is a lot harder than some other people guys.
Starting point is 01:39:11 Oh yeah. Yep. Yeah, 100%. All right, next one. Next one. Are you? I don't know. We're just randomly doing that.
Starting point is 01:39:19 We're just spitballing now. We're just spitballing. I'll get a good one next. Oh, right. All right. I like this one. What's the lesson that took you the longest to unlearn? To unlearn?
Starting point is 01:39:29 Lash and to unlearn. Yeah. What's the lesson that took you the longest to unlearn? Um, oh. I know this has happened before in my life. I'm just trying to think about exactly. This, It implies that you learn something at a younger age.
Starting point is 01:39:44 Basically, what did you have to deprogram your brain from something that you thought was like true? At a young age. I thought everyone that was named Baker. It was a fucking Baker. I was gonna say some dumb shit like that. We landed on the mood. On the Earth is round.
Starting point is 01:40:02 We'd be lied to. Um, shit, I don't know. It's not so much a matter of unlearning it. It's a matter of like, I guess, oh man, how do I explain this? It's not like going from like 100 to zero. It's more like changing, just slightly changing the angle that you look at something
Starting point is 01:40:23 and realizing that there's more value to it than you initially thought. Or there's like a different quality of a value than you initially thought. You know what I mean? So like, would that be considered unlearning? Or that's more like relearning, I guess, right? There's a big difference.
Starting point is 01:40:37 I got it, I got it. Go on, fucking. Biggest thing. I had to unlearn is that, how can I word this? Biggest thing I had to unlearn is that family, you know, your blood family, they aren't always the one who have your best interests in mind. You know.
Starting point is 01:41:02 Hey, fuck a man. Yeah, I mean, some people, they really take advantage of the F word, family, to take advantage of the people around them. And you know, I grew up in a culture, I grew up with the teachings that, all right, family comes first, always. And growing up, I've seen it break so many relationships apart,
Starting point is 01:41:22 break so many families apart, and I'm like, damn, you know, family, sometimes family, sometimes, family does come first, but that's the family that choose you as family as well, you know? That's why they say friends are the family that you choose. Man spin, shit, I was gonna say something like,
Starting point is 01:41:41 not everyone has to like, you. That's still a good one. That's still a good one. It's hard to accept that sometimes that's not everyone's going to jive with you. Yeah. And you're not entitled to everyone to like you. Yeah. Sometimes you hang out with something. You're like, man, they were really cool. And they just didn't feel the same way. That's okay. Yeah. I think working off of that, that's definitely something that like I kind of fell into the trap of when I started like my YouTube crew because it's like obviously I don't please every, every side. Yeah. Like, you know, obviously, you know, you're a growing channel you want to get yourself out there and you know going back to the whole it's not what you know
Starting point is 01:42:14 it's who you know i would you know try and go out there and be friends with everyone and be at least be cordial with everyone and whatnot right but some people are just for rational or irrational reasons are just not going to like you for sure and i had to kind of learn that oh if i'm not going to get that same level of respect back then why am i trying so hard yeah because you know sometimes it's it's that idea of like sometimes some people are just not worth your time. Just put yourself out there and hope that people like it. Yeah, find the people you jive with, find the people you like and yeah.
Starting point is 01:42:48 All right, here's one, I think. What would your youngest self not believe about yourself today? That I got a job talking about that. That I got this job. I mean, yeah, for sure. I actually know this because my youngest self be like, that'll never happen.
Starting point is 01:43:05 There will never be a space in the universe where you can do anime on YouTube and get fucking paid for that shit, right? You know what I hate so much? Is that like, I'll watch something like, Hunter, Hunter, I watch these shows where this kid is a whining little fuck face who's like, I'm gonna do everything I wanna do my life.
Starting point is 01:43:22 And I was just that little kid. I was like, I will do everything I wanted to do. I've done most of it, so I was like, shit, I guess. Why don't like those guys? Yeah, I don't know. Yeah, I mean, honestly, Honestly, just where I ended up, I guess, is like the thing where I'm just like,
Starting point is 01:43:43 my youngest self. Wouldn't that be so sick if you could go and talk to like 10 year old Joey and be like, hey man, kinda goes pretty well. Yeah, look forward, look forward to the next 20 years, man. Yeah, just do you, don't give a fuck. And then you accidentally alter the timeline and your life gets ruined.
Starting point is 01:43:58 Yeah, and then I end up in like skid row. I don't know, I wonder what about like a more of a personality trait? Like what's something that you thought was a personality trait growing up that you thought you'd never have. Beyond camera. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:44:12 You guys have seen my evolution of that. Being an entertainer, I guess, of any capacity. I mean, yeah, I've seen to some extent. Yeah, because I always thought I was going to have a creative job that was kind of behind the scenes. I never thought I would have a creative job that was in the forefront. I think Younger me wouldn't, would be very surprised
Starting point is 01:44:32 at how social I am, I think. Growing up, I thought I was never going to be social. Yeah. I thought I'm gonna fucking get my nine to five. I'm gonna get an engineering, get paid well, and play all the video games I wanna play. And that was all I was gonna do. That's what I thought my life was gonna be.
Starting point is 01:44:46 I thought I was never gonna hang out with people. Damn. I don't know why. I just thought like I loved video games that much. Oh yeah, I mean, but you can also. Yeah, but no, no, I didn't think like that, Jay. I didn't, listen, I'm at all or nothing kind of guy, yeah, I didn't think it was. I was about to say you could do both,
Starting point is 01:45:00 but I didn't think it was gonna be friends and video games. I thought it was gonna be video games. Video games are my friend. Yeah. Yeah. That's what I thought. Yeah, fair, fair.
Starting point is 01:45:09 That one's okay. I would, yeah, yeah. I never thought I, yeah, bitch. I thought I get laid, but, uh, okay, here's not, we are now, I'm ironic. Yeah, yeah, I definitely went to be like, don't worry, don't worry, they're gonna find one. Yeah, 14 year old means like,
Starting point is 01:45:26 I'm going to die of the ocean. Don't lose hope, don't lose hope, you're gonna find someone. Here's another good one. What's a dream you've let go of? A dream I've let go of. Ooh, it's a dream. that you've let go of gentlemen. I'm trying to think if I have one.
Starting point is 01:45:42 Being a musician. Yeah? Yeah. You thought that was a dream? That was my dream job, was to pursue music full time. When do you think, like, you are like, it's not going to happen?
Starting point is 01:45:55 Honestly, the last, like, two or three years. Damn. Yeah. Until very recently, I was kind of like, you know what? Kind of getting to that stage in my life where I'm doing certain things now
Starting point is 01:46:05 where the interest or the field is completely different. and I'll keep doing it just because I love doing it, but I don't think I'm ever going to do it as a job. I don't think I ever have Lego overdream. I was like, I was like thinking for a second, and I was like, I think I've pursued, or I am pursuing everything.
Starting point is 01:46:23 I even be like a want to do. A thing that you maybe thought you were never really, and I even attempt. Like, I don't know. As you're getting like 30, right, surely you're like, damn shit that I thought I might have been able to do. It's not going to happen anymore. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:46:37 TN being 20. My dream of being 20. My dream of being in my 20s is gone. Yeah. I dream of like fucking just living all around the globe. I thought, yeah, I'll do that for sure. And then I very quickly gave up on it. Living in America, that turned from a dream.
Starting point is 01:46:57 That was a dream. To a nightmare. And then it became within reach and I'm just like, now I'm good. Actually, you know what? Yeah, I think that's why I was kind of obsessed with Disney Channel growing up. I genuinely thought I was gonna live in America. Yeah, like the American dream appealed to me.
Starting point is 01:47:13 Yeah. That propaganda worked on me for sure. Yeah. I thought like that, that was my life. Man, British people love American, aren't they? You don't understand how much American media we can assume? Oh no, we had American media as all. Never once did I think, oh man, I really want to live.
Starting point is 01:47:26 They just talk about how free they are and then you'll be like, this is our county fair. And then you're like, holy shit, this is your county fair? We have like three guys who scam you. And everyone is our fair. And everyone lived looks so fucking and meanwhile everyone in fucking England is so depressing.
Starting point is 01:47:42 Yeah, I guess so. And you're like, damn, America. I guess vibe wise it's the polar opposite. Well, I mean, not anymore. You guys improved on England, so you know, I don't blame you, Joe. You're like, you're like UK but happy. Yeah, we're pretty concerned.
Starting point is 01:47:55 I'm sure I would not wanna move anywhere else for the bunning snack, you know what I mean? Exactly. I would not want to move anywhere else. It's hard to move away. Yeah, exactly. Don't think of a dream though. I don't know if I've ever had.
Starting point is 01:48:05 See, because like every other dream that I've had or like a vision of what I wanted to achieve in my life, I more or less have achieved, but not in the exact way that I intended, right? So, like, for example, like... The monkey's ball. Yeah, yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 01:48:18 So it's like, you know, one of the, one of my dreams is like, you know, growing up watching a lot of, like, you know, like concerts and stuff like that and going to a lot of music shows and whatnot. Like, you know, I always dreamed of, like, the tour life or like, you know, like performing in front of a stage. And we did that. Yeah. You know, with trash taste.
Starting point is 01:48:35 We did the tour life. We performed on stage. but it wasn't because of my music. And the poor girl. And it wasn't because of my music. You asked people about their favorite hentai tag. Exactly. That was the monkey poor.
Starting point is 01:48:49 Exactly. That was the monkey poor. Well, like, that was still fucking cool. And that's something I can brag about for the rest of my life because that is something I've wanted to do. And I was able to do it, you know, but just in a different way to what I originally envisioned it. You're gonna say something.
Starting point is 01:49:03 Drugs. Okay. I'm kidding. Doing drugs or getting off drugs. You need to make that distinction. I had a dream to do drugs once. I've let that dream die. And then I gained an extra IQ point. I'm like, damn, those bound people doing cocaine
Starting point is 01:49:24 and throwing chairs out the fucking hotel windows. Sniffing lines on hookers' asses. That looks like such a cool life. And then I went on tour and I'm like, no. Just give me a beer, bro. Yeah, that life wasn't that glamorous. Yeah, fair, fair. Has a stranger ever changed your life?
Starting point is 01:49:45 Oh, that's a good question. Changing lives every day, baby. Yes, and I am the stranger. I was watching a YouTube video account. I have a lot of YouTubers that have changed my life. I used to not be able to build a PC, now I can. How's a stranger? I don't know, like has,
Starting point is 01:50:16 I genuinely wonder how many times you hear about this thing where it's like, you know, I was waiting in line at the shopping, you know, at the mall, and then suddenly a mysterious man came up to me and said some words to me and then disappeared and I never saw him again. And now I think about that all my life.
Starting point is 01:50:32 And I'm like, I don't know if I've ever heard of anyone ever actually running into a situation like that. I don't know. Sometimes, that hasn't happened to me. Yeah, me neither. But sometimes there is a point, right,
Starting point is 01:50:45 where I do think about this sometimes. Where sometimes you just hear the right words at the right time and maybe you've heard those words or maybe you've heard that message like a million times before. But sometimes you're just going through something and you just don't even realize you're going through something and then you watch something or you hear something and like you see a message that just like speaks to you.
Starting point is 01:51:09 way that like never that like never did before you like shit sometimes people just need to hear the right thing on the right day um totally and yeah yeah it doesn't matter where it comes from i agree yeah yeah like i don't know why i love going to my local coffee shop not even for the coffee i've got a coffee machine at home that i love i just like going to talk to them and i feel like i just something about that makes you feel cozy inside when i get to just chat with these people who i don't really know that well yeah just kind of like vibe for a little bit yeah i don't know why That means a lot. No, that's nice.
Starting point is 01:51:41 Yeah. I don't know. I'm sure there have been strangers have helped me out a lot. What is a stranger that has left an impact on you then? Instead of a stranger that has, do you have any memory of like, I'm trying to think now as well
Starting point is 01:51:55 because like what strangers do I still remember? I'm sure there's something, but I just can't remember. Fuck. I know, I know. I have a question after this as well. Okay. After we answer this. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:52:06 Every stranger story that I've had has always just ended up being like, it's memorable not because it was impactful, but because it was just funny. Like, look, I'm trying to be that stranger that helps people randomly if I get the opportunity to do so. For sure, yeah.
Starting point is 01:52:25 It's kind of hard to actually help people. Yeah, it is. It is organically. It's hard to help someone when you know nothing about them, you know? So, yeah, it's tough. The stranger, one time actually that weirdly affected me is that,
Starting point is 01:52:37 and I don't know, know why I keep I always think about this was I when I was about to do the uh the last time I was about to do the um shunnamikido the cycling route yeah I was with my brother and we were waiting and this elderly woman like fucking flipped over the front of her bike and ate eight eight shit it was hard to watch right I went over to help her uh and she just would not let me help her she's bleeding and stuff just let me help you yeah and she kept just saying sorry sorry sorry and I don't know why that stuck with me yeah so much I was like man It's so sad that she felt like she's literally bleeding.
Starting point is 01:53:12 Like she was in 17 and she's inconvince. I thought that that, that is stuck with me more than anything out of all the cultural interactions I've had that she was literally bleeding on the ground, 70 years old, like very frail and she's apologizing. And I'm like, this is crazy. Yeah. And I cannot convince her to let me like help her
Starting point is 01:53:34 and get her some bandages. Yeah. Like she's just trying to run away because she's so embarrassed. And I was like, man, in a weird way, it kind of fucked me up a little bit. So I was like, what the fuck is going? Like, it kind of made me like, be like, what the hell's going on in this country?
Starting point is 01:53:46 Yeah, yeah. Why can't, like, let me help you. Yeah. This is not like, I don't think any less of you. I don't, there's nothing here that I feel like, Oh, you've just unlocked a memory for me, man. I'm like, let me fucking help you. You, like, there's nothing hot, like,
Starting point is 01:54:00 let me get you a hot drink, let me get you a bandage. Like, just take a mouth and they chill out. Like, come on. I don't know why. It really, really, really like, upset. me in the wrong way. No, that would upset me. So I was like, man, just let me help you.
Starting point is 01:54:12 Come on, man. And I didn't have the language capability to be confident enough to be like, hey, chill the fuck out. Yeah. I'm helping you and you're gonna accept this. Yeah, yeah. In English, I would be, I would be very stern. I'd be like, sit the fuck down.
Starting point is 01:54:24 Yeah. I'm gonna help you. And to me, I'm sure I'd be like, nah, let me get out of here. Let me get out. And if someone would stern me, like, all right, okay, all right, fine, fine. I'll take the hot cocoa.
Starting point is 01:54:34 Okay. I'm only human. You know, and I always think about that. And I always think that man, I should have been pushier and I should have been like, I don't know. It always upsets me. Yeah. So I guess this is the inverse of this question
Starting point is 01:54:45 where I wish I was able to help that stranger more. Yeah. I should have pushed more. But she just wouldn't let me. Yeah. I know you just unlocked the memory for me because I completely forgot this happened in like my first year of living in Japan
Starting point is 01:54:57 where, you know, something similar did happen, but there was just like, it was like deep into summer and this was when we're like living in Saitama. And I was like walking towards, like my favorite sushi spot at the time. Sushi rope. Actually, it was Hamasushi. Hamasushi is fire.
Starting point is 01:55:14 That was fire. It's a fucking fire. Look, everyone who calls him like the mod, no, it's fire. The sushi places fucking are legit. Yeah, and I was just walking minding my own business and then there was this like really elderly grandpa
Starting point is 01:55:27 who was like clearly struggling with a bike to the point where he was just like leaning on it. Oh, they will not let you help them. And they are, And it just weirded me out how this grand, this grandpa was like clearly fucking struggling to the point where, to the point where like everyone was just walking past. And then he stopped and started wobbling. Like he started wobbling like a few people walk past. But like I stopped. And only one other Japanese person stopped. Right. And this is like, and this is like when my Japanese like language was like bullshit. I can, I couldn't say shit. Um, And so he started wobbling and I stopped. And I was like, does he need help? Is something going to happen?
Starting point is 01:56:13 I looked over and I met eyes with this Japanese lady. And we were the only ones that had stopped looking at this like old granddad wobbling around. And I could sense that something was going to happen. And then he literally just collapsed. I assume from the heat, right? Right, right. I just assumed from the heat.
Starting point is 01:56:34 But luckily because we like paying attention, we caught him. and I was, I was like, I was, I like, I, like, I tried to like, my best just to understand what the hell he was like saying to me. Luckily, the lady kind of like took charge. She was like, I heard I heard doko. And I was like, okay, okay, like, where's your home? Where's your home? Where are we going? And I just remember, it was just like, it was weird that like nobody else really stopped to, to help out with what we were doing.
Starting point is 01:57:09 But we ended up having to almost like carry this old man back home, which was luckily just like a few box down. And I'll never forget it because the old man was like saying something to me. At the time, I didn't fucking understand what he was saying. But we luckily got the old man back to his house. And I remember opening the door. It was like completely empty. Oh, shit.
Starting point is 01:57:33 You're like 80, late 80s, possibly 90s. 90 years old and you're like living by yourself. It's like most of Japan though. I know. That was like the biggest wake up call for me. And we managed to get him back home. I like bought like a Pekari sweats at a vending machine just to give it to him. And I just remember like looking at a lady and the only thing I could say is just
Starting point is 01:57:56 oh you got that. And then we just went. We just went our ways and that was the only communication we had with each and you know, I'm so glad that there was someone like that that I could rely on because if it was just me by myself, I would have no idea what the fuck I would have done.
