It was that music video and Christina Aguilera as well.
Dirty?
Yes.
Dirty.
That's like, I was like, is this?
I was like, I feel like my brain chemistry changing.
Yeah.
Why is my...
Hello and welcome to another episode of trash taste.
I don't know what part of that conversation you.
Crazy rip, bro.
Yeah, crazy rip.
We got to bleep some of that.
Yeah, don't use that in the intro, please.
But,
uh, have you boys been?
Dude, I got 30 and it's bullshit.
Everything started hurting.
Like, on the dock.
What the fuck, man.
Like, my neck has been hurting a bunch.
My knee started acting up one day.
My shoulder has been fucked.
Like, are you speed running your 30s?
How many days has it been?
I don't know.
I didn't do anything.
That's the crazy part.
That's how you know.
That's how you know.
Like, I haven't done anything that would cause these things.
to happen. So I don't understand.
That's how you know, man.
And it happened like instantly when I turned 30s.
It is not a mean.
I'm arguably healthier than I was before.
Yeah.
Like I've been workout more, eating.
Yeah, but that's the thing, right?
Life's just like, oh, you hit the big three-o.
I don't care how healthy you are.
Neck hurt.
Yeah.
And then I had like a two-day hangover.
Two days.
Yeah, I had a two-day hangover from,
we went out drinking.
And I had like three beers.
three beers and what, like four Oolong highs.
Yeah.
Over the course of like quite a lot of hours.
That's a Thursday for me, brother.
Yeah.
It's not that bad is what I'm saying.
Maybe it's just people who don't drink, that sounds crazy.
But like in Japan, that's all the fucking all three he's been pumping into his morning.
But you know what I realized?
I think certain times I drink craft beer, I taste it.
And I'm like, ah, this is going to give me a hangover.
There's a taste to craft beer sometimes that I just feel it.
Yeah.
Like a flood slowly coming.
I'm like, fuck, this is going to give me.
I'm not gonna lie, big dog.
I do not fuck with craft beers the older I've gotten.
No, I've got, I've got off them.
I've got, I still like them a lot.
I don't know.
Like, I don't really find, like, the, the mystique or whatever emotion it is that you feel towards, like, ooh, it's like a new, like, a flavored beer or, like, a different style of crafting.
Like, it just doesn't excite me anymore.
Well, I think I like it just because it's truly like a gatcha for beer.
Like, I truly, I have a no, like, if I order a Kieran or a any Japanese beer, like, I know what I'm getting.
And when I order a craft beer, and you order the, like, fucking.
I don't know, the snotch sorter, all thousand.
You're like, I don't even know what the fuck
that could possibly taste like.
It's like the discovery.
It's the excitement of discovery, you know.
It's almost the same as like trying to wine, you know.
Also don't do that.
Fancy, yeah.
This is a fancy way to say, I'm an alcoholic, you know.
Yeah.
But craft beers are good for like that first, like, one or two beers
because you're like, ooh, on a night out, we're trying something new.
And then you try to craft beer and you're like,
This kind of ass.
I think it's one.
I gotta try one and then like,
I gotta call it quits.
Cause when I have like three,
it fucks me out.
No, you can't.
Not even drunk.
Like, it wasn't even remotely that drunk.
I was just,
it just gave me a nasty hangover.
Yeah, well, welcome to the club, man.
Welcome to the club.
I mean, you did also mix with Oolong High as well.
Yeah, but that's just like water.
Nah, if you mix, if you mix, no matter what,
like, you know, sometimes you have those,
it's the chew hymn, though,
where like, I've had those like,
the only way I can kind of summarize it
is, you know, that scene in The Simpsons
where,
Mr. Burns has all the diseases.
Yeah.
And they can't get through the door.
I've had the nights where I've literally
probably gone through the fucking entire,
like, alcohol list.
And I've been like, fine.
Yeah.
So I don't know how it,
like, why does your body sometimes just get fucking,
like, critical hit,
500% damage, super effective?
Like, why does it happen sometimes?
You know what's funny?
Is that like,
because I feel that's like a very common thing
where the moment you hit your 30s,
then, you know, the hangover start to get worse
and all that kind of stuff.
I feel that's the one debuff that hasn't hit me yet, because I don't get hung over as much anymore.
That's just bullshit.
That's what the fuck.
Yeah.
It's weird.
I chug water like a motherfucker too.
Yeah.
I chug so much water when I'm drinking and still.
Yeah.
I don't change the way that I drink or the things that I drink sometimes, like, I think last weekend is while I went drinking.
And I drank quite a bit because the bartender that I always go to, he just keeps giving me like tequila shots.
And I'm just like, oh, if I hit a tequila, I know I'm feeling in that.
Yeah, I think I had like, I had like four Oolong highs a beer and then like three tequila shots.
And I was, I was pretty drunk and I thought, oh God, this is going to be terrible the next day.
But I work up completely okay.
I don't know why.
I used to have the worst hangovers when I was in my 20s.
And my 30s, I guess my body was just like, you've gone through the trenches, brother.
We used to this.
What the fuck, man?
I don't get the thousand yards stare equivalent on the hangover anymore, you know?
It's weird.
But at the same time, it's like my body hurts all over when I've done nothing.
Two-day hangovers are just the worst because on the second day, you're like, you're, you're disappointed in yourself. You're like, I should be over this right now. Why am I still feeling this? And like, you're all like 80% there, but you just got that, that brain fog that just like that just makes everything a little bit like 10% harder to do. Yeah. I don't know. That's, that's, that's my 30s experience. Yeah. It's, it's. Are you, wait, are you, wait, how old are you again? I forget.
I'm serious. I forgot.
35. I think you're 35.
I'm 36. I fucking.
You, that's right. He's closer to 40.
That's what I don't. I am.
He looks so good though.
I'm closing into my late 30s now.
You don't look any different from like eight years ago in my mind.
Well, you're going to see me like every week.
Yeah, sure, sure. Yeah.
I mean, also, I'm also in like technically the best shape of my life.
But I feel like I'm trying to do something.
to offset what my body, like, I, you know, you just feel like your body deteriorating.
Yeah.
So you're like, I need to do something.
You're going to level out the playing field.
I can't ever, like, feel too good about myself.
So I got to make sure I get fucked up once in a while.
I got to level the playing field.
Yeah, and then that's why you get the two-day hangout.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I remember I was, I was hanging out with Connor.
And I think we were, I think we were at the streaming game or something in America.
And I was just like, yeah, I'm like trying to get more fits.
I'm trying to get in like a better shape in my life
than I was in my 20s.
And I'm like, I don't know why.
I was like, I'm gonna see if I can try and get a six pack.
And Connor's like, what?
I'm kind of like, yeah, you probably need to quit drinking.
And I'm like, well, I guess that ain't happening then.
The dream came, the dream way.
All right, give me the marker on.
I'm just throwing on.
I mean, look, it's like not impossible.
It's not impossible.
It becomes.
It's a lot of work.
Yeah.
Infinitely more difficult if you are drinking.
Yeah.
Just because like so much fucking calories in it.
Yeah, I mean, it's like telling Chris to give up fami chickies, you know.
It's like, you know.
Or remember when he said he was gonna get a six-pack?
It's like I could get a six-pack if I stop eating, drinking, having fun,
everything I hold love and hold dear.
Yeah, exactly.
Like, yeah, now you, Chris did say he was gonna get one.
Yeah.
Did he get close? Did he get close?
Fuck, no.
Like, maybe, like, maybe he had great core at one point, but it's like, you just need to cut so much.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
And, uh...
It is the hardest thing because, like, this part,
is always the last part to go, right?
Like around the stomach.
So it's no matter how hard you try,
it's just like, oh, I have to give up all my favorite foods
and drinks and activities.
I have to give up all of my vices.
Yeah, literally all the things.
Yeah.
For what?
Some fucking abs right here.
Yeah, it's like...
Dude, I went to this restaurant and this guy,
it was like, nobody was in this restaurant.
It was awesome.
And this guy was super passionate about his food.
He brings out this butter and bread.
And it was like...
Your favorite?
You know, like he kind of like the service thing.
And he was, he was talking for like two minutes about this butter that he'd made.
Mm-hmm.
Had like corn in it.
Had like paprika.
I was like, how good thing from the butter?
Spread it on it.
It's like, bro.
I was like, give me four blocks of this right fucking now.
And at that point, I was like, fuck this trying to get a six pack.
I was like, this shit is too good.
Yeah.
I want to eat this all the fucking time.
You have to give that shit up as well.
Well, okay, look, everyone is like, everyone has,
has a six-back and be like, no, you don't have to give it up. You should have moderation.
It's like, I don't want moderation. Do you, do, do you, have you ever, like, counted calories
before? Yeah, yeah, of course. Yeah. Do you still do? I mean, I like, I think it's always healthy to
have, like, okay, I think I'm around. Yeah. You know, not like, you know, because I see people
who are like, what do you reckon are Keish is? And it's like, brother, we're eating out.
Nobody fucking knows what they put in this. I have no idea. Maybe we can guess. Yeah.
But, like, I feel like you can drive yourself.
and say in that aspect. But if you're making all the food, it's way easier, obviously.
Yeah, obviously. I started doing so this year purely because I found that the reason why my
weight and like my body fat and everything just went so fucking up and down, like in the past five
years, it's just, it's so easy to overeat. Oh, yeah. Like you, you'll eat food that you think is just like,
oh yeah, this is like a standard meal or whatever. And then you realize, oh, no, it's like twice the
fucking calories that I should be putting into my body. Just because I'm just so used to eating
these like calerific foods, right?
So like, just for my own sake, I was just like,
well, I don't want to be fucking, I don't want to be on TLCs
my 600 pound wife.
So, you know, at least like, I mean, I don't think you'd do a rough
estimate. Like when you see those people, though, it's like,
it's such a, it's such a larger amount.
Yeah, it is.
You can keep eating.
Yeah.
I don't know, I just, for me, it's like, I've always found it,
like, it needs to be subconscious for me.
Like, I can't, like, actively be, like,
counting all of it.
Otherwise, I will fail.
Otherwise, all those loaves of bread, you'll be like...
Yeah, like, I need to be able to just rip the loaf of bread and not think about it.
And if that requires, no snacking, no soft drinks, I literally just coffee, a light lunch, and a big dinner.
That's it.
No snacking in between, nothing.
Yeah.
And then if you do exercise on top of that, it's like, okay, I'm, you know, I'm moving, doing the shit.
I think it's just being realistic, like, because I think the older you get, the more you realize how much we lie to ourselves.
And, like, whenever you try and learn something or you try to change a life,
habit. It's like, you know, you get excited sometimes and you have too many things. And you're like,
bro, I'm so dumb. I can't manage three things, three new things at once. I am the old dog they talk
about when they say they can't learn new tricks. Like, I have to change one life thing at a time and I have
to burn that into me before I can handle another change. Do you think you can go back to your chicken
and broccoli phase that you did when you were like? Yeah, if it, if it, because I wish, because there are
places in Japan that deliver chicken and broccoli. Yeah. And like if,
Because the main thing that's changed is my time.
Like, I would make it every day if I had, like, this infinite time loop, and I wouldn't,
I wouldn't mind doing that.
But there's a place in Japan that they send it to you.
And my God, it is the most horrifically tasting piece of shit I've ever had in my life.
And you know what?
I was like, why does this shit taste so bad?
It felt like it had been, like, blanched.
Yeah.
It was, like, barely fucking cooked chicken.
Yeah, the chicken's, like, robbery is fuck.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
fucking like the broccoli.
I don't know whether you get this broccoli from
and it was under fucking cooked.
So I was like,
and I never ordered from there again.
I ordered from it twice thinking,
okay,
maybe the first time was a mistake.
You know,
sometimes they fuck up,
you got a bad batch,
whatever.
Second time,
nah,
this is bullshit.
And I walked past,
funny enough,
I was walking in Tokyo
and I walked past the fucking store.
And I saw it.
It was like a fucking,
a room the size of a toilet
and a microwave.
So they were just microwaving
fucking like pre-cooked chicken
putting in the fucking box.
box and sending it to me.
And I'm the fucking fool paying X amount of money for it.
Yeah.
And it tastes like fucking shit.
So it was one of those, what, ghost kitchens?
Basically, it was basically a ghost kitchen.
It can't be called a restaurant.
Yeah.
If your chef is called Panasonic, you're not a fucking kitchen.
So I was quite, I was like, okay, no.
But if I could just get that the way that I used to fucking cook it, be fucking great.
I just stuck that shit in the oven, let it get crispy.
You had just, you know, you can add whatever the fuck you want.
Yeah, just use an air fry, you know?
Yeah, sure.
I mean, to be fair, it is super easy and I'm being hell lazy.
Yeah, I'm like, realistically, how long does that take the night?
But it's just the ass, like, fucking doing it.
Yeah.
I do, I would like to meal prep more.
But do you ever get overwhelmed the amount of meal prep recipes you see online?
Kind of.
Like, the thought of sticking to one that looks good when every other video is like,
this is the best one.
Scroll, this is the best one.
This is the craziest one.
This macros.
I'm like, oh, my fucking God.
I almost get choice fatigue of like,
I gotta commit to this for five days.
I mean, I have like a little like playlist
on my Instagram of all those like macro meal prep ones.
Haven't tried to sing one out yet.
But if I, when I have that time,
I know where to go.
I think my brain is actually like maybe malmarished
or some kind of.
Probably because you're not meal prepping.
Yeah, you know.
They had like a term in like the 1800s
for like, I guess,
like, I guess if someone had like a mental disability
that was like, it was like,
it was like feeble-mindedness.
which I think is like a bad word now.
It's how I feel about myself.
When I'm like looking at these recipes
because when I watch them,
something in my head is happening
where I think like I think I made it.
Like I feel good about myself.
Wait, wait, wait, wait.
Explain that again.
Explain that again.
Like I think there's this dopamine reaction going on.
Yeah.
And I think we all do this.
Well.
Where when you watch stuff like a recipe,
you feel good because you're like,
yeah, I consumed that night.
Maybe I'll make it.
But I don't fucking make it.
But I think there's some brain chemistry
going on that makes you feel good about washing it. I don't know what this is. I'm sorry to say
big dog. I'm not on your size. No, bullshit, because you have a bunch of recipes that you saved.
I think there's something going on. Yeah, but I don't think to myself, wow, that was a delicious
meal. No, no, no, no. Obviously, I'm not going, wow, I'm full.
Yum, yum, yum, yum. I'm saying it's the same kind, I think there's the same reaction of, like,
you know when, like, this is like a study thing where when you have goals in life and you say
them out loud to someone, there is a, like, endorphine reaction or some kind of dopamine. I was going to
I don't say that sounds like that.
It's where you, you feel like you've some,
like, obviously you know you've not achieved it.
Or what, you're not fucking idiot,
but you think you've done it to some extent.
Because you're, you've said like,
oh, I'm going to become ambidextrous.
Yeah.
Well, I, I feel like it's the same kind of phenomenon
where people watch like motivational videos.
And they feel like watching,
by watching motivational videos that they've done something.
Right.
So I feel like,
to this trap where when, uh, because I've tried like regularly going to the gym for many times
my life. And, uh, what happens is I go to the gym once and then I watch like five videos
and like, the best routines to do. And I'm like, yeah, I'm doing something. Never go again.
Do you know what I mean? It's like, I'll do that next time. And then next time never shows up.
Yeah. Yeah. When truthfully, it's like just lift heavy thing and run. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
kind of like all you need.
Yeah.
So the biggest difference between this part of my life is I've just stopped watching videos
like that.
And I was like, I am just going to lift stuff.
And then after about five months, maybe I'll start watching some videos, you know.
Once you've fallen down the rabbit hole.
Yeah, I just like Google like, hey, I want to work out the specific thing.
Can I get like the S tier workout for that?
Because there's a guy on YouTube, I forgot his name.
You probably know who he is.
Who's that guy who just like the, he does tier list of all the work?
workouts, and it's very scientific. He's quite an odd guy.
I ask him, Kai, because he's rich.
Yes, because I assume you know, Kat, because you're jacked.

Readable, but fully waterproof dry. Oh my God. And waterproof. And grippy rubber soles.

Back to the episode.
Oh.
Oh, damn.
I feel like he's name.
He knows the entire.
Yeah, that's him. Felix told me about him. Right. Because Felix was like,
because Felix loves that shit too, like maximizing. So what is the S-tier workout then?
Well, no, it's just like you can work out like your, um, I don't know, like your biceps and so many,
like there's like infinite ways you could work it out. Yeah. But I guess it's like in, in like some of
these videos they discuss like, what is like the workout that will get you like 100% activation?
100% because some workouts, you know, maybe only on the pole.
And then like on the down, you're maybe, you know, or maybe there's, you know, sometimes
there's like tension, like you, you're only really doing the, the activating in the first
movement or towards the end, you know, as you're bringing it up for the final.
So it's kind of like finding the, but then again, truthfully, this is like, it's like I'm
trying to like Google ultramarathon tech and I'm, and I haven't ran okay.
And it's like, this is truly not going to help me.
because I just need to do the basic shit.
Yeah, it's so, it's so weird
because I see reels like that too,
but then I also see other reels are just like,
honestly, push-ups are just kind of a goat.
Just do push-ups.
It's like pull-ups too.
Pull-ups will cut like literally nearly everything
in like your upper body.
Literally just like planking, other like calisthenics
is like that is just like the go-to thing
you should always do.
And then if you want to get super technical,
you can do like the specific ones.
But truthfully, lift heavy thing and run
and you will have a good time
and be fine, no matter what that looks like.
Yeah. Just don't, like, I guess the only thing that is worry is like,
just don't fuck yourself up. Don't do like terrible form.
But I also hate the reels that are just like, yeah, just do pull-ups. Just do push-ups.
And I'm just like, yeah, but that's boring.
I want to use some like cool equipment. I just like, do some like cool equipment shit.
Me on the ass stretching machine.
Yeah. The thigh maxer.
I want to put me on the Goatzee machine 3,000 to work out my ass cheeks.
You know, like that's more interesting than just doing simple.
You've done this, you've done the stairs one?
The stairmaster?
The stair master?
I've never done a stair master before.
It is the worst, is it?
It's just walking up stairs, right?
That in like box step or like the two worst.
Yeah, but I did it in, uh, when I was in Vietnam, I, I,
I was talking about PTSD and you're like, when I was in Vietnam.
No, when I was in Vietnam.
The war is over.
You don't need to walk through the trenches anymore.
I'm still fighting, go.
I see stairs.
I get reminded of NAMs.
I remember I told you, I stayed in like that
that same hotelers you. It's like the tallest hotel of it.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. It was cool. But they have this gym
that's like in the fucking sky, basically.
Right. And they put the stairmaster right next to the fucking window.
God damn.
It feels like, it feels like
you're walking to heaven. I'm trying to like jump off the cliff,
but also I can't quite make it.
I just can't quite get to the top of the stairs.
It's like you're in the afterlife and you're trying to climb up.
I'm trying to kill myself, but I'm too dummy thick.
You're like suicidal Sisyph, Sisyphus.
Yeah, I'm trying to kill myself with the boulder.
I can't get it up the hill.
God, just let me end, please.
Let me get to the top.
Yeah, I'm a beast.
Yeah, the Stanmaster fucking sucks.
Anything, anything of that kind is like, not only is it boring to do, but it's just, it, I swear to God, it is, I've never felt more pain.
pain in my body. No, I like the Stairmaster.
You like it?
Yeah, I like the Stair Master.
What's wrong with you, bro?
It's just fun to climb things.
Fair enough.
That's the monkey brain back in action.
It's just like, you keep going higher.
What's your machine of choice, Joey?
Machine of choice?
I mean, you, you don't really...
I don't use a whole lot of machines.
Yeah, when I do CrossFit stuff.
Honestly, though, I...
You were doing CrossFit for a long time, right?
How's it gone?
Yeah, almost, yeah, two and a half years now.
Two and a half years, damn, son.
That was...
my 30s turning point for me. I was just like, I need to get fit. I didn't realize CrossFit was like
a brand. Yeah. I didn't realize either. I thought it was like a way of working out. I thought
a branded product. Is it? Yeah. Yeah, but I think most people just see it as just a fall. Yeah, but I think like to
be a gym that like to advertise you do CrossFit, you have to like pay a licensing. Okay, really? I think.
What the fuck is Pilates? Okay, it's like, it's like intense stretching. It's like, it's like yoga on steroids.
Right. I know it's named after that.
I just remember this phase where May Lynn went through her Pilates phase, where she was like,
you should do Pilates. And I was like, I don't, that's a made up word. I don't, I've never heard of that. And then I keep seeing the more time has gone on, different Pilates gyms.
I think he's named after the guy who started it. His name was like, his name was dead ass like John Polaris or something.
Because my mom does Pilates. I don't know a lot of people who do Pilates. I still truthfully have not asked like what it is. But I've seen the machine. So like, oh, it's a machine.
Yeah, it's, it's, so Google Pilates machine.
This looks like a kind of guillotine.
From what I understand, it's basically just really intense yoga.
Yeah, so you do like stretches, but it's like with resistance.
Yeah.
Oh, okay.
But it's a pretty intense workout from what I've heard.
Right.
Like, it's pretty thorough.
That is something like medieval torture device.
Yeah, that's what they use an orb, right?
Oh, yeah.
But, you know, I think it's like a pretty, I think it's pretty like,
Like fucking brutal.
Like I think, I think if we did it,
we'd be fucking dead.
Yeah.
Yeah.
We'd be ruined, I think.
Nah, no.
Yeah.
You would be ruined.
Yeah, you would be ruined.
Brother, I saw you in that kayak.
You'd be ruined.
It's been a long time since that kayak, you know.
Yeah, he's been working out now.
Yeah, yeah.
He's ready for the pull out.
He's ready.
Are you working out your call?
Huh?
Are you working out your call?
Yeah, I'm trying to.
Well, I think this would kill you.
Sorry.
I think it would kill you.
I mean, my core strength isn't like,
it's, isn't like,
S tier, but I'm trying to work it out.
Tier list your strengths for me, Gar.
Tier list your strength to me.
Okay.
So everything is like D tier, but it was F tier.
So you know, you know, it's upper rank.
It's upper rank now.
It's up a rank, you know.
How's your core strength, Connor?
Probably my weaker aspects.
Yeah, same.
A D.
Okay, so we're in the same tier then.
Yeah, C.
Yeah, C.
C.
Low C.
The same as you.
Yeah, I probably like C.
Okay, okay.
Well, I don't know.
Not that good.
Yeah.
Yeah, I mean, I feel like my cardio was like my weakest for a long time because I had asthma.
Yeah.
So that's been one thing I've tried to be.
Naturally debuffed.
Yeah, naturally debuffed on top of being in my 30s as well.
So that's like the biggest thing.
I don't know.
It's weird.
I don't really have a goal.
It's like people talk about goals.
That's not about goals, yeah.
Not feeling good.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Is it just, it's, it's, you feel good though?
Yeah.
Yeah.
You don't feel good after a workout?
I feel electric that day.
To be fair, it took me about seven or eight months.
I have to like trick my brain into going to the gym.
Yeah.
No, okay.
At some point, your brain will flip from going from like, I gotta go to the gym to
fuck, I haven't gone to the gym.
Yeah.
Like, you'll, you'll, it'll flip and you'll, you'll desire it.
Yeah.
And when you don't have it or like,
you travel, you'll be like, damn, this fucking sucks.
Yeah, I see, I had to, uh, I had to like hack my brain and tie it to, uh, habit I already
did, which is watch anime, right?
Fair enough.
Fair enough, fair enough.
So I literally, what gets me going to the gym is I, I pick a show.
And I'm like, I'm, I can only watch the show when I go to the gym.
And it's like my cardio show.
And I'm like, well, I'm already, I'm already like at the gym doing cardio.
Might as well, like, kick the weights and stuff like that.
Right.
I kind of realized that, I don't know, me, I, everyone, people talk about, oh, yeah, going to the gym feels good and stuff.
And I'm like, I don't feel it.
I don't know.
It's weird.
I don't feel it.
No, but again, like, the first, like, six months I did CrossFit, every single time was just like, oh, I have to go again.
And it's the worst feeling.
But then, yeah, like, as Connor said, like, something in your brain just kind of clicks where you get that gym workout high.
at the end of it. And at this point for me now, it's like, if I don't go to the gym,
my, I can feel my body deteriorating. Like, I can feel my body just getting more sore and
like more dull and stuff like that. So it just makes me, part of my brain just goes like,
yeah, I have to go. I need to go. Because otherwise, I'm going to die. It's like a survival
instinct for me. Did you have a big, like, moment where you're like, okay, I definitely need to
like, you know, you know what it is? I kind of gamified it because it's,
It's like, for me, it's like, I always told my trainer to be like, tell me how much I'm lifting,
or tell me how many reps I'm doing in this like particular thing.
And then my, and then when I'm able to like achieve that new PB with like a weight or whatever,
it feels like leveling up, you know, so it makes me feel good being like, oh, yesterday I, you know,
I lift, oh, last week I lifted, you know, 35, but this week I managed to do 40 with the same reps.
Like, fuck yeah, that feels awesome.
Next step, 45 or whatever the next step might be, right?
So it's, yeah, again, it's like kind of, I trick my brain into gamifying it.
in a weird way.
Not with any kind of goal in mind.
I just wanna see where I can get to, really.
Yeah, it's weird how much of my life
I kind of realize how to better it is just tricking your brain.
Your brain's fucking, your brain's stupid, man.
Doesn't want to do all the good things in life.
No.
Once to eat all the unhealthy foods, wants to just sit around
and do fuck all.
And you just gotta like trick your brain.
Fucking hate that shit.
I ain't lying to my brain.
Just making routine.
routine, you know, but making routines hard. And you, you know, you spend so much of your
20s kind of, um, especially for our job trying to make changes. Every week it changes,
you know, like what we do. Yeah, that's the hard part, especially we're traveling a lot too.
Traveling kind of fucks everything are. Yeah. Yeah. Um, you know one routine I need to add more in
my life. What? Do you, uh, do you guys think you're, do you guys think you're good sons?
Uh, that's a, uh, in what regard. Damn, bro, hit me there, bro. Yeah.
When's the last time you called your parents?
Oh, I call my parents like every week.
I call my parents every week.
I went to go see my grandma two days ago.
I realized like last week I was like, it's been three weeks I called my mom.
You're not a caller, though.
Huh?
You're not a caller.
I'm not a caller.
He's not a caller.
I'm not a caller.
God lives in the moment.
I do.
God does not like, but it's like when, when I think it, look, look, this happens.
When I, when I moved to Japan, you know, some, some friends in the UK were like,
damn, you're going to text me.
and I'm like truthfully, no.
I think you're honest.
And it's not because I don't like you.
Yeah.
It's just I don't want to text.
I like don't like small talk.
And I like, when we hang out, it'll be great.
Yeah.
But obviously, you know, not everyone feels the same way.
Yeah.
Because like I get a message from the other day
and she's like, oh my God, I just saw like Tokyo on the news.
And it was when we were like going through like our typhoon.
And I was like, mom, it's fine.
You know, don't worry about it.
Go to bed.
And I realized, yes, did you?
Did you hear what the UK's going through?
Yeah, heat wave and fires.
Like, we're getting like forest fires, which is fucking...
Australia's like first time.
Australia's like, yeah, first time.
Rained in six weeks or something.
Yeah.
It was just kind of unheard of.
This doesn't happen.
Yeah, we do not get bushfires at all in the UK.
And I found out about this like, fucking yesterday.
And I was like, fuck, I didn't check on my mom.
I would have known if I, like, phoned my mom and just like...
A tree's in Brighton.
Huh?
No, trees in Brighton.
Yeah, we're good, we're good in Brian, but I don't know, I don't know.
You never know.
It's, it's, it was like, fucking terrifying.
And I was like, yeah.
You realize you're a bad son?
I like flip-flop.
I'm like, I'm like the best son.
And I can go like a fucking three weeks then without finding my parents.
And I'm like, I'm an awful son.
I feel like I'm a bad son now.
But, I mean, are you the initiator of communication with your parents?
Or do they, do they initiate him?
I do both of my parents.
You do both.
Like they'll sometimes initiate, I'll be like,
hey, I'm, you around today?
Like, you know, because I'll be like,
I'll be like, going to bed.
And luckily the time zones
kind of work out because it's like,
our evening is there morning.
Yeah.
Normally when they're free and when I'm free,
so it kind of works out.
Yeah.
For me, it's my mom is definitely the initiator.
For sure.
Because it's like, I don't know,
it's like,
it's not that there's nothing for me to share
with my mom or anything,
but like, I also know that she stalks me
on every single, you know,
account that I have. So it's like, I don't need to be like, hey, mom, by the way, I did this.
And she's like, I know.
Yeah, this is weird in our position, right? Because anyone who wants to see what we're up to
can just see. Yeah. Yeah. For the most part, yeah.
Fucks with a lot of like our relationships in, obviously not, you know, obviously it doesn't
ruin them. But like, I think for some people that makes them feel like they're keeping up
with us. Because I feel like I'm keeping up with some of my friends. Yeah. Like, with their
YouTube. Yeah. Like I'm like, oh, I see what you're doing, Jerry. Like, like,
Okay, cool.
Yeah, I'm trying to build more habits my life where I thought being on YouTube and being a concert creator kind of like uplifted that because I have tried taking more pictures, just not even like good pictures, but just something to remember the day.
Because I had this moment where I realized that my life is documented, but everything is like from a professional angle.
And like, I remember like going through like my pictures of like, oh, do you remember this picture?
Remember this time that we were doing this thing?
And I was like, I took no fucking pictures during this event.
Yeah.
And you kind of realize how much of your life you forget.
Oh, yeah.
I mean, you know, that's the power of like, I'm sure every family had it.
Like, you know, your grandparents have like that one photo album of them in their youth, right?
Oh, yeah.
And you look at shit like that and you're just like, fuck, why am I not doing that with my life?
Yeah.
I want to, I told my parents, I did one.
I wanted to digitize there.
like VHS family recordings.
But I haven't got around to it.
Maybe I'll do it this time.
Yeah, yeah.
My family did that a while ago
and I found some like old videos of me
like hang out with my grandma and I'm like,
oh shit, you know.
It's priceless.
It is.
Especially if you save that and then you can be like,
you know, you ever have kids,
you can be like, look at a great grandma or granddad.
I like, that's pretty beast.
There's just some magic about,
especially like candid photos.
You know, because like I remember
like when my parents showed me their photo albums that they have of when they were younger.
And the biggest difference between like the photos that are taking kind of today and the photos
of like our parents age or even older is that the previous generation's photos, they're all
candid. They're all just like kind of in the moment pictures. But I also realize that it's those
candid photos that hold the most memories. Rather than the ones where everyone's like,
hey, gather around, let's take a photo kind of, you know, like staged, I guess, photos, right?
Whereas, like, you know, your parents can point to a single candid photo where no one's looking
at the camera lens.
They just kind of in their own element and they can tell you like an entire story.
I think this is because, like, cameras have become scarier.
Yeah.
Like, the idea of a camera now is way scarier than it used to be.
Everything's documented now, right?
Now it's like, you know, 20 years ago, if someone took a picture,
Canon photo or not.
Nobody cared.
Everyone's like, yeah, sure, whatever.
But now it's like, oh, are you posting this?
Are you doing that?
Not, you know what I mean?
Yeah.
This kind of stuff like this, I feel like
the, the camera's
weaponization has happened over the
course of, like, I mean, it kind of has
right, over like 20 years.
Like, it's become a,
the cameras, I feel like,
sometimes feared more than it is appreciated.
It's just a extra
layer of like social,
I don't know with the,
right word is, social boundaries that you need to consider now because with so much being
documented and with social media and people will just kind of turning their life into content.
I think people are getting bored of them being involved with someone else's content as
opposed to being someone else's memories, you know, because I feel like now everything is content,
everything is commodified.
Yeah.
And it's, it's, some people just don't want any part of it.
And obviously I recognize that we were all content creators.
So our, you know, our mindset sources are slightly different.
But this is even just with like, you know, family gatherings or whatever.
It's just like, sometimes it's exhausting when your family takes a picture or whatever.
And then it's just on Facebook.
And you're like, I just, I don't want the shit on there.
You put the fucking location pin there.
My God, remove it.
You know what I mean?
There's metadata.
Like, oh, you know, like, it's become a scarier thing now to post photos.
Whereas I once think it wasn't.
Yeah.
Do you,
does your family have a designated photo taker?
That one person in the family
that takes like that million photos?
Oh,
you are that guy?
I'm the Disney.
Oh, okay.
I don't even, like last time
when the family gathered around,
I didn't even,
I just started taking pictures
without telling anyone.
I was like, I'm getting all this shit candid,
not posting any of it
and then just share it after I go home
and being like, here you go, enjoy.
Yeah, that's the memories.
Yeah, you do that.
Yeah, you do take pictures.
I love taking photos. It's fun.
Yeah. I mean, the only reason I don't, or I didn't for a long time, is you know how I look in photos.
You do have a talent for looking bad in photos.
I've got some photos.
I just overthink when a camera is pointed at me.
I am that guy that doesn't want their photo taken for that exact reason where I'm like, I'm chill.
As soon as the cameras point out of me, I'm like, what am I doing?
Yeah.
What are my hands?
You can just rip a casual, like,
And it'd be fine.
You somehow go.
The funniest thing with Gant, though, is that, like,
I completely get what you mean when it comes to, like, you know,
when someone, like, if I went up to you and was like,
hey, Gant, you know, let me take a photo of you, right?
And you're kind of just like, oh, you know, taken out of the element.
But Garn is also somehow able to give off that exact same vibe
during candid photos, too.
I don't know why.
I have so many photos of Gant.
I have more photos of Gantt with, like, half his eyelids closed
and, like, his mouth open in a weird way.
when it's not even, when it's like fully candid.
And I don't aim to do it, it just kind of happens.
It's like my superpower, it's my spidey sense.
It is. I can sense when a camera is pointed at me
and a photo is being taken and my body is just like, okay.
Shut us about to go off, me in the head face now.
That's funny, either.
Okay, do you also, how much do you know your family?
Like, do you know your family history at all?
Because I was thinking about this, like,
I know nothing about my great grandparents, like,
grandparents. Like my knowledge of my family stops with my grandmother and grandfather, right? And my
mother was, my mom the other day was talking about her grandmother. And I was like,
I know, I know fucking nothing about her. And that was, that was someone who was probably like a
big, like big icon in your life. Do, I, I feel jealous of people who know, like, who know
more about their family tree. Because you guys, you did your like 23 and,
23 and me.
Right.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
How wasn't it like 99% with a 1% discrepancy?
Well, no, because like they can't, I think like in that terms of service, they can't put 100%.
It's like, yeah.
That could be error.
Yeah.
So it was like 99.9.9.
How much is how much of your family tree do you guys know or?
Like a fair amount.
I mean, I knew my great grandma, but I didn't, both my grandmas were dead, but my great
grandma was there.
Whoa.
Damn.
So she was like a nearly, when I was really, when I was.
really young. She was like 90-something.
Holy shit. I used to go to her. She was super
energetic. She'd love deal or no deal.
Every day in the UK at like four.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I remember, yeah, I used to go there
every, every time. Yeah, it was pretty cool.
She had a ton of those, the fishes that sing.
You know, the fish on the plaque? Oh, yeah, the ones that like turn their hands.
All people's houses, I don't know if they're still like this now.
This just be so fucking whimsical and like weird.
Like half her living room was like things that danced and sing.
So it was always fun to go because she would always have biscuits too.
And in the UK every, every grandma or great grandma always had biscuits.
Yeah.
Yeah. So many biscuits.
You know, she'd make tea and that was, you know, that was pretty cool.
Yeah.
Yeah.
For me, it's like I have a gap between my like up until my grandma and great grandma.
And then there's like a gap of not much knowledge at all.
And then I know a little bit about like my early ancestors, if you can even call that.
Because like...
That sounds like you were like evolution.
Yeah, yeah.
Yo, the fish phase.
Yeah.
No, because like I found out early this year that my, I think it's my great, great, great uncle on my mom's side used to be like a, like a, like back in the Edo period was like a soy.
Or something?
He was a soy boy.
He was a soy boy.
He was a soy boy.
He was a soy boy.
He was the first to ever do it.
Yeah.
The original soy boy.
That's my lineage.
Yeah.
Like,
fuck, no.
I will say if you do want, like, genuinely,
this is advice to literally anyone listening.
Yeah.
You don't mind paying a little bit of,
by a little,
I mean, a fair amount of money.
An elite gift is,
like, there are services,
they're like experts in, like,
coming through public records.
Yeah.
Especially in the UK, because we have one of the best, like, kept public records and registries in the world.
Yeah.
Goes all the way back to, like, 1700s in a lot of places.
Oh, damn.
You can hire people to look, get all this information and make a little booklet.
It kind of documents everything, like your family history.
Yeah.
Obviously, it might be a little bit difficult.
Yeah, I'm not sure how good the public records are in Thailand.
But you might be able to find someone who, like, you never know, right?
All I know.
It could be a fucking sick gift.
Yeah, all I know is my great grandfather came from China.

Damn, you're Chinese.
Holy shit, you're keeping that from us!
I am a, I don't know what number it is.
An eighth Chinese?
An eighth?
Yeah.
He's not 16th percent Chinese?
You're eighth.
I'm an eighth percent Chinese?
If it's great-grandmother, yeah, it'd be eighth.
Damn.
My great-grandmother was Chinese as well, so I've been.
All these secret Chinese people in this office, what the fuck?
I have a sleeper agent.
He's a sleeper agent.
No, but to finish the thought on,
on the whole, the OG Soy Boy thing.
I found out about it because that's the store that he opened up
when he went from a soy farmer to a soy seller still exists.
It's in Sendai.
And it's been handed down across the family.
So the guy who owns it now is like my distant relative.
From like seven or eight generations back.
And my grandma told me about it.
She's like, you should do a video.
And I'm like, I don't think he knows who I am.
We're like eight, fucking, eight generations are off.
He might be fucking sick.
And you might be cool.
Bond with him, right?
It might be cool.
I mean, we technically,
we technically have a common, like, grandfather.
So, yeah.
You know, that's so sick because you have,
the Japanese history.
Yeah.
And obviously, your dad's side history, too.
Yeah.
Kind of all over.
Yeah.
It's so cool.
You have so many places.
Whereas mine is like,
white and poor for a really long time.
A lot of generations of that.
But also, I guess that's kind of cool
in the same sense that it's all localized.
Yeah, yeah.
Because my DNA thing was like, they were like, yeah, we are 100% sure it's from this one area.
No fucking difference.
Yeah, at least if you want to figure out your like entire family lineage, you just have to go to one area.
I have to go all across the law.
I just opened the Argos catalog.
You can find it.
No, yeah, I think it's, I mean, yeah, you can look it up.
The UK is really, really good records.
It's just really cool.
It's when I did, I did it for Pete, but I haven't done it for me.
But I did it for Pete.
And I found his shit, doxed his fucking list.
lineage all the way to like 1750.
Holy sure.
In the UK, found all of it.
Jeez.
So where's, where was his,
where was his platform from like all Wales?
Oh, Welsh.
Yeah, that's why.
Oh, that's why he was part of the generational Welsh.
And his grandmamas from Wales.
So right.
I found like all of his,
uh,
things. But, you know,
as it is with most things,
it's,
it's,
you know,
kind of uninteresting to an aspect.
It's like,
yeah,
you,
that was a cobbler.
And,
uh,
that's kind of all we know.
about him. Yeah. And then it's like his dad also a cobbler. Yeah, I want to know more about like my,
my dad, like my European side. Because like, you know, being the sixth Joseph in the family,
I want to know who the OG Joseph was. You could probably find it. I mean, I want to find out, yeah.
Where was, where was the lineage from? Uh, it'd be somewhere in like, probably like southern Hungary.
You could, there's probably a guy in Hungary who's like an expert in the public records,
who you can pay. Yeah. To research all this stuff. It's kind of cool to know.
Did your dad ever tell you why or how this Joseph lineage started?
No, like I just...
I like the idea of a guy who's normal being like,
I kind of like this monarchy.
Yeah.
I'm gonna rip it.
My name is so far.
I'm gonna give it to my son,
and I hope his son gives it to his son.
And there on out.
So now I have the fucking generational pressure
of naming my son, Joseph.
I literally ruin six generations.
You kind of have to keep it down.
Exactly.
Yeah.
Even if it's like a middle name, I do want to keep it.
Yeah.
Yeah, because I was just like, I can't imagine starting like a Gantt dynasty where I'm pretty sure.
I'm pretty sure.
I'm pretty sure.
It would only be the only Gant dynasty.
You should actually.
God knows how many Josephs there are in this fucking world.
How likely do you think that you have any Genghis Khan DNA in you, Joe?
So, okay, so when I did the 23 and me, I was also curious about that because it's like, okay, my Japanese side, you know, there might be, there's a,
a pretty good chance that like some of them might be Chinese or Mongolian, you know, from like the
1,200s and stuff. Found out not, I have, on my Japanese side, 100% Japanese.
Ooh, okay. I think we went back like, I think it's like seven or eight generations.
I think there's a, obviously, there's so much criticism towards the DNA tests in general.
And like, obviously the ethics and the fact that you pretty much sign over your DNA to these
companies, obviously is a concern.
Yes.
But I think they're pretty bad at Asian genetics.
Just because there's not,
they don't have a lot of samples is what I,
so a lot of the times that Asian people would do it,
it would be like, China, Korea, one of them.
This area?
I don't know, buddy.
Like, you know, whether it was white,
they'd be like, yes, you look like,
you're from the Habsburg.
With a mix of French and Napoleon, you know.
They did say that I was 51.
percent Japanese, which I'm like, yes, that means I'm more Japanese than not.
You got the minus one majority.
I read about this, that the reason why DNA tests aren't popular in Japan is because
Japanese people don't want to find out that they might be Chinese.
Yeah, yeah.
Which is the reason why they don't do them.
That's pretty much it.
Yeah, because 23 million Ancestries.com are not available in Japan.
I had to go to Australia to get it.
Like, the idea of a Japanese person is finding out they're kind of Chinese with like
ruin.
We're like break a lot of how they view the world, you know, because let's be real, there's a lot of feelings there.
Yeah.
And superiority complex.
Yeah, they don't want Chinese people being like one of us.
It's like, no.
And it's like, buddy, look at your writing system, dog.
Yeah, I mean, we stole so much from there.
Yeah.
They tell me we're French and I'm like, no, no, beef, please.
Well, let's not get into like the fucking European history.
I'm sure like we were...
Oh, wow.
I mean, European history, where do we begin?
When do we begin with that?
Where do we want to start from?
Everyone's a little bit of...
No, yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But have you guys been up to anything else recently?
I saw, I saw you were back on plants versus zombies.
No, because there's like, okay, they made this...
And I've been kind of one of trying to check with that.
I normally don't like playing fan mod games.
Yeah.
Just because I'm like, I don't know, I kind of, you know, it's normally for a specific audience.
But there is plants versus zombies, this game called Fusion, where they basically, you can just fuse any of the plants together.
So like Pokemon Fusion?
Yeah, exactly.
It's a fan-made thing.
But it gets kind of ridiculous.
And I didn't realize because I beat the whole game.
And then it was like, oh, you should play this other game mode.
And I did it.
And it was like, I'd gone from just seeing like,
the droplet of water come out of the thing to like the deluge.
Yeah.
And it was a ridiculous.
And some of these combinations,
you can combine like five plants to make these ridiculous.
I mean,
they just looks ridiculous.
I mean,
I don't know how to,
so I was playing this and God rate at me,
but I was kind of very focused when you rated me.
It's just like they get kind of like,
you can combine everything with everything and it gets really fucking insane.
And yeah,
it was really cool.
And it's kind of insane the amount of,
is that an amongous there?
That looks like an amongous.
It looks like a purple among us right there.
I didn't see that one.
But yeah, no, it's kind of crazy.
It was really cool.
Very fun.
Oh, nice.
But yeah, it's been gaming a lot.
Swimming.
When are you going to play Holo Night?
Why?
Why?
Did you finish it?
I finished it.
What's it good?
It was fantastic.
Dude, it's so good.
So fucking.
I have one more Castlevania I need to beat.
And then I'm done with my Castlevania grind.
Are you done with Metrovenias now after that?
I'm kind of, yeah.
I mean, look, when you've played the origin,
it's like, I'm at the Big Bang, buddy.
in the edge of the universe, okay?
We're in different points.
Yeah, but like, I, I played the version
that has like perfected the formula, you know?
It's perfected.
It's perfected it, you know?
Play symphony of the night,
and then we talk about it.
Play symphony in the night,
and then we can talk about.
You should play symphony to the night
if you liked, uh, yeah.
But it's not gonna be the same,
sell me on it, sell me on it.
It perfected the Metroidvania.
Not only was it like, uh,
well, first of all, obviously,
it wasn't the first Metroidvania
because the Metro it existed.
Yeah, but it kind of,
perfected this, this style of the
Metrovania map initially,
in the early 2000s,
with the beautiful music that we get
in Castlevania, some of the greatest tracks.
You also have Al-A-Kard,
and it's just fucking sick controlling him
because he's a fucking constant after image
and he's backdashing all the time
and the combat, it's okay.
But this game in particular,
I don't particularly like this,
but they added in like a ton of fighting game inputs.
I'm ass at those.
Yeah.
But a lot of people love that shit.
bows and...
Yeah, like quarter circle X to do so...
And I'm so bad at that kind of stuff.
Oh, yeah.
And I don't want to spoil it because there's like a really cool moment in the game that's
fucking sick.
I don't know how to explain it.
I'm not good at this shit.
It is a very good game.
That's all you need to know.
If you enjoyed Hollow Night, you definitely like Symphony Night.
I mean, I got to play Silk Song first, which I heard.
Everyone says, oh, it's like Hollow Night, but like 10 times harder.
Yeah.
Did you play Silk Song?
I tried.
You tried?
I got like halfway through and I just...
I had to drop it because I'm like, it was way too hard.
Because I what I've realized, you like games that are like fucking difficult.
You like really hard games.
I wouldn't say I like really hard games.
Yes, you like inputs.
What do you mean by inputs?
You like things that challenge like your ability to like do inputs.
I don't like League of Legends.
That's not an input game.
That's a macro game.
Also, no one does.
I think like you can be a worse, like, easily like in league.
you can be worse at like the mechanics of it,
but if your macro is better,
I think you can, up to a certain rank,
you can like, you body, like,
like, I think I could, you know.
That's like a game knowledge game.
Well, it's like certain games
that have like, I would say something like,
um, Osu and geometry dash are like literally
the farest end of input.
It's like it requires literally just
intensive inputs and mechanics.
Yeah.
You just need to put the things in the right order.
and that's it.
Whereas you get to something like, let's say,
I think League is on the higher end of macro.
It's more like game knowledge and game theory,
like the idea of understanding concepts
like rotation, movements, timing,
and like even FPS is kind of very heavily in this.
Like I think something like an Overwatch
is maybe a bit more mechanically intensive,
but does have a macro aspect, but quite mechanical.
And then, you know, Apex is kind of a major.
of both mechanical and macro in like a half and half.
And then, you know, you can go all the way down.
So I think like a game like Holo Night,
it doesn't require macro.
Sorry, what do you mean by macro?
So a micro mechanic is like something you're inputting like,
like think a geometry dash.
It's like jump, jump, jump, jump down.
You know, like maybe that's what it's asking.
Whereas a macro is more of a kind of like,
you're looking at the entire picture of a game.
So in League of Legends, for example,
there's like lanes.
and let's see you're playing a jungler,
you've got to,
you've got to like choose what lane to go to.
And it's that kind of inherent understanding
of the concept of like,
I should go at this time or I should intervene.
Oh,
you mean like a core understanding of this.
Yeah,
there's no like,
and it,
or like in Fortnite or Apex
where the ring is shrinking
and you're thinking like,
okay, that kind of thing in your head
that's turning of like,
I should rotate to go early now
to maybe beat out someone else
who's going to get there
to hold this position
or I should wait to be on the,
edge and attack. So that kind of thinking of like the, it's thinking that's happening kind of
alongside micro inputs. Like spatial awareness. Yeah, spatial awareness, but it can happen in anything like
CSGO. It's like, okay, I'm gonna, I'm gonna fucking go to Bombi and the macro is your planning
around that movement. You're anticipating this all might be. Yeah, I mean, I feel like, especially
with like competitive multiplayer games, uh, it's always a difference between micro and macro or like
game knowledge versus game mechanics, you know, and I feel,
like a lot of these games require like a minimum bar and like game mechanics at least,
which I kind of suck at actually.
But then the game knowledge can like bring you up to a certain level,
but you always need some kind of like game mechanics in many, many of these games.
It's kind of why I suck at like FPSs as well.
FPS is very mechanical intensive.
Yeah.
But even something like fighting games, for example.
That's very mechanical.
Like not much.
A little bit of magic.
I would argue it's a lot of macro.
It's okay, like, because I got back into like Guilty Kirstrive for like a short stint.
And, you know, at the beginning, you, there is a base level of like mechanics involved with like
combos and stuff like that.
But I basically, I, like, I climbed my way up to like platinum in there with just pure mostly game knowledge.
I didn't practice any combos or anything like that.
Because at like the highest level of fighting games,
you kind of notice it just becomes,
it just becomes a turn-based game, you know,
where almost like you use, you,
it's one big rock-paper scissors game.
And the first person who like gets a hit in,
okay, it's their turn to attack.
And the other person is trying,
to find an opening to find their moment to attack, right?
And you have like meters that can give you like advantages and that's where like the
turn base like aspect comes into it because you're like, okay, I don't have an opportunity
to create an opening now because I don't have enough resources, enough meters or enough specials
like spend in order to create an opening.
It says like in the middle.
Mm-hmm.
Like it requires obviously both.
Yeah, it definitely requires both.
I think yeah, obviously being mechanically is great though too.
Yeah.
I guess like Starcraft is more macro.
Yeah.
Pokemon is only macro.
So the reason like Holo Night and Olden Ring and stuff like that is because it requires,
I, I am very, uh, I can easily just bash my head against the wall like a thousand times
and do the same thing.
Uh, and it mostly requires like less, almost like less brain power, you know?
I love doing that.
Yeah.
I love repetitive.
I do not.
I get bored very easily.
Did you complete Holo Night back in the day?
I did complete Hollenay, but...
Did you complete, like, some of the DLC stuff?
No, I didn't do the DLC stuff.
I did do one of the optional bosses.
Yeah.
The Mantis Brothers or whatever the fuck was.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Which was really hard.
But, yeah, I don't know.
Like, for me, like, I don't...
It's one of the reasons why, for example, like, I never got into, like,
Golden Ring was just like, I don't really enjoy the whole idea of having to try something
over and over and over and over again.
Yeah.
You need to get better at it.
It's just like, I mean, I don't know.
Maybe I just don't seek enjoyment out of video games in that sense because...
I think it's just because, like, games don't challenge me enough.
Right.
And so when I finally get a game like that where the challenge feels achievable but very
difficult, I'm like, oh, this is fun.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But you're a gamer.
I'm not.
I get...
I play games.
and I'm fully okay with that, which is why, like, you know, that's why I, I enjoy the games where,
yes, they may be, like, on the easiest side of things. There might not be as much challenge to it,
but if the experience is fun, then I'll enjoy it. Yeah. What's like the hardest game or the
hardest game moment you've ever, like, experienced? Could be, like, on stream, off stream, or whatever,
but... I recently finished Mina the Hollowo, and that final boss was fucking hard. Really hard. Like,
it was to the point where I legitimately said to Alex, I was just like, I,
feel like this is like gonna take way too long. Like I just don't know if I'll actually be able to do it.
Yeah. And then when I was able to do it, I was like, I nodded. You know, so I get it from that
perspective, but you know, it also didn't take me like, you know, 700 tries, right? I think it's like,
you know, five or six tries. But still, like, for me, that's a lot more than what I would usually
put myself. Damn, five or six tries. Yeah. I think the hardest game of played is Pogo stock.
Oh. That game was fucked. Is that hard or, or, I don't know.
Rage games go into like a different, almost a different category
where it's almost like trolling you in terms of like...
I like he love rage games though.
I mean, like Jump King, I'd so much fun playing that.
There is something brutal about having to ask of like perfection.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Because even in like Eldon Ring, you can get hit.
Yeah.
You know, and those games, like those rage games,
you're often like that ability to make a mistake is gone.
Yeah.
And that's the difficulty.
It's not necessarily what the mechanic is asking of you.
but yeah, that was probably the hardest one.
I didn't even do poker.
I didn't even do the second one,
which is even harder.
A lot of do that.
I didn't do it.
I genuinely was traumatized from that game.
That game fucked me off.
Video crushed, though.
You're like,
I like my life too much.
There's content versus like...
I was just genuinely depressed playing it.
Like, it was so sad.
Like, it was so brutal in like every failure
where like Jump King,
Jump King was fun.
I liked Jump King.
Jump King is hell of fun to do.
But because I think like whenever you got punished in that game, felt bad, but it always felt like I can get back.
Yeah.
But in Pogo Stuck, it was like, that's three hours gone.
Yay.
Um.
Well, I heard, uh, Sydney say like fear and hunger is kind of like the same kind of experience, right?
Where you can just lose.
The thing I'm most scared of, I think I hate is losing hours of progress.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, it's that, it's that gaming concept of like, and I always say this, if you can't do it,
twice, you don't, you don't deserve it. You know what I mean? What do you mean? If you could only beat
that boss one time, you got lucky. Yeah. You've got to be able to beat the boss twice. Right.
To prove that like, so it's like maybe you died or maybe you fell and you're like, you know,
you're kind of upset about it. But it's like, hey, if you can't get back there. You can't,
you can't fight that boss again. I don't know what to tell you, buddy. You didn't beat the boss.
So like whenever I would fall, I have a brutal moment in these games. It's like, if I can't get back
up there twice in a row, then I, you know, I'm not, I'm not cut for this. And with fear and hunger,
it's like when you die in that game, you can kind of lose like an eight-hour save file,
which is obviously sucks. Yeah. But just the entire thought of that. I'm just like,
oh, oh, no. But at the same time, like, I could probably boot that game up and I could probably
get through like all of that game on like an hour.
Oh, like, because I just know what to do now.
Okay.
And in, and so essentially, I guess it's like a reframing of how you go into the game of like,
you're just building knowledge.
And that game is a pure knowledge game.
There's no like, I guess there is kind of mechanics with dodging.
But generally speaking, like, you just need to know what each enemy does.
Yeah.
You need to know where to go.
Right.
That, knowing those two things makes it go from 10 hours to two.
Okay. Okay.
But, you know, for like,
Like, at a first time experience for a player, that first 10 hours is magical.
Like being scared, not knowing what to do.
That's the most fun part.
You should play it.
It's fun.
How did Fear and Hunger, too, compared to the first one?
Now that you know, like, there's always this, like, there's always like someone's first
Souls game where they have this experience like, oh, this is what a Souls game is like.
And I feel like, it's like how fucking, like, Cokeheads say that you'll never get the same high as, like,
the first time you do a line of Coke, you know?
It didn't help at all.
Okay, okay.
So, like, I thought it would.
I thought, like, because I was pretty good at Fear and Hunger One.
I was like, ah, this should be fucking easy, bro.
Yeah.
Nah, I didn't help at all because I realized like...
Dustin from Sacred Symbols here,

It's like when you learn to do something specific
or like I've learned only how to like throw a javelin one way.
It's like it doesn't translate to any other kind of like
way of throwing it.
Like I thought like it would just,
it would apply itself.
Or like I thought biking and running,
that cardio would apply to swimming and it just didn't.
I was pretty shit at swimming and I was tired immediately.
And I was like, oh, fuck, okay.
I had like learn.
Yeah.
Because I just realized like,
I had learned that specific knowledge for that game,
and the second game doesn't have any of that.
Okay.
Because all the mechanics are different too,
and it doesn't really translate.
Okay.
I think if anything,
I was just like assuming everything was going to kill me,
which is probably a good assumption.
That's a good assumption,
especially in Feen Hunger,
I would assume.
Yeah,
I'm still waiting for the update for two.
Mirio,
God bless, bro.
Keep working on.
There's an update coming out.
So I can't remember when the last update was,
but basically it became one,
of those, it became like a silk song situation where like, they were like, yeah, we're going to,
he's like, I'm going to do one last update. And everyone was like, cool. I'm waiting. It's like three years
ago, four years ago now. And like when they've released information about the update of this game,
it's like completely rebalanced it. It's added like a whole new area, a bunch of new enemies,
bunch of the story's been tweaked, more stories going to be added. And I think they've spent more
time on this update than they had from the time from Fear Hunger 1 to 2. So like they've been
really working on it. And so I really want to do more stuff with 2. But it feels like I should
just wait. But also I've been saying that for like two years now. So like I probably should
just made that more extra content. No, it's coming. It's coming. I'm sure. I mean,
like knowing trash taste, because I've talked about this now, it's going to drop before this
episode comes out. This happens so often whenever we do this. And I would like that to be the case.
I would like it to be that the update is out because I like Fear and Hunger 2 a lot and I want to
play it. Yeah. So the update will pretty come out, my guess. But if you're only one is really good.
Have you played much of it? You played the first hour. I've just played like the first hour.
Yeah. I mean, you should play it. Yeah. It's it's a good stream game. It's yeah, because I'm suffering.
I don't like suffering on stream. Luddwick rage quit it. He just, he quit. Did he rage quit? He didn't
I thought he was a gamer.
Now, he gave up.
He got pissed off.
I convinced him to play it.
But he, he played Pogostock and then he quit.
Fear and Hunger?
Yeah, because he kept like dying and losing his shit.
And I think he was getting really tilted.
But I don't know.
I don't know if I've ever rage quit a game before.
I mean, I have kind of.
Junking.
I just stopped playing.
That wasn't a rage quit.
He beat it.
I wasn't a rage quit.
I beat it.
I could beat it.
Anytime I choose to.
And streets, people on Reddit,
sometimes they post dumb shit,
like, gants are more of a gamer
than Connor now.
Like, this is,
you are,
what is this, bro?
You don't want to put that to the test going on it?
I would,
I would crush your pathetic hollow night experience, okay.
Yeah, so you gotta,
you gotta play it first to,
to pre-be-old,
you gotta play it first.
I kicked your awesome junking,
and I'm not even a gamer.
Joe, you just like rage games.
I don't know why.
I don't know.
It's the solace.
It's the solace.
I don't know, it's fun.
Yeah.
You just, it's funny seeing Joey play Reg games and it's just like you just figure it out so
quickly. Yeah, because for the most part, it's easy. Like the actual inputs themselves and the,
and the concept of it is so simple. It's just executing it is the difficult part, which is something
that even someone like me can do. Yeah. You know, and that I enjoy it. It's like, I think, I think
that's what I didn't like about, say, like, Fear and Hunger when I played it. It's just like,
I understand it, but just like putting that into practice is so much harder because there's so much more that goes into each run that you do.
Whereas with Jump King, it's literally one fucking button, right?
So it's like, it's fairly simple to figure out.
There's some shit in fear, or you just cannot figure out without a guide.
Yeah.
It's like impossible.
And it's like, I don't have fun of that.
Some of it's pretty important too.
Right.
But that's where I like chat will help.
But when I played it, there wasn't, there wasn't popular.
So nobody knew what it was.
So that was really fun too
So everyone was just like guessing along
Yeah that was really fun because everyone was kind of like
theorizing they were like maybe you should try this
Or there's like a mechanic where you get this empty scroll
Yeah and I was like what is this? I used it
And like it just asked you to type shit
I was like what do I type? And like you know there is a way to use it
And it is not at all intuitive
And there's no way to figure it out
But if you can figure it out it's very good
And it's very helpful
So yeah
All right
How long have you been recording for?
Damn,
Damn, she's 12
I love that
fucking meme
Sam
So fucking ridiculous
It's so gross
No, I've been quite a boring boy
I haven't really done much
I don't my wife is
Nothing?
No, I'm just coming chilling
Well, I mean sometimes you need that chill
bro fuck
That's all right
I'm going to the UK soon, so that'll be fun.
Oh, yeah?
For what it works?
Yeah, I'm going for a convention, and then I'm going to go hang out with my family for a bit.
Nice.
Let's be chill.
Probably going to take a little bit more time off.
Yeah.
Because I've been a busy boy.
Yeah, I try to go back at least once a year, so it'll be fun to kind of chill out.
Hopefully there's rain in the UK by that point.
Hopefully your country's not on fire.
Yeah, hopefully we haven't become Australia light.
We'll find out.
We'll find out.
Ah, I'm sure it's fine.
Meanwhile, we're getting fucking 17 typhoons in a row over year.
What?
Yeah, you didn't hear about this?
No.
Last week, apparently there were six typhoons approaching at the same time from all directions.
Australia?
No, Japan.
What?
There was?
Why saw Cheetah got fucked up?
Yeah, dude.
And I saw like an article today that was like, yeah, guys, there might have been radioactive stuff leaking in one of the floods.
I was like, what?
Whoa.
Bro, Cheba just gets fucking done every time with every time.
everything.
Oh, that's what you get for living in Chiba.
I'm joking.
Cheva's fine.
Eat your peanuts.
Cheba's famous for peanuts.
That's why I said.
Is it?
Do you know this?
Fuck no.
Okay, Google is Chiba famous for peanuts?
I don't know anything about Chiba other than no one wants to live there.
No, it's good to be a law master of like what each place is like produce is famous in Japan.
Because...
Yeah, but half the time...
Oh, yeah.
Oh, Nakase, yeah, yeah, yeah.
It grows 85% of all peanuts growing up.
Japan. Damn. Do you know that? Cheba's famous for peanuts? I had no idea. It's good to know this.
Do you know any Cheba facts? Because I don't. I don't. I don't. I slide from I know a few friends
that live there and they tell me that there's not much, not much going on there. Yeah. That's all I
know about Cheva. That's same. It's kind of awesome to drive though. It's kind of a sick place.
It's really beautiful and just a little too far. Yeah, you're talking to two people who don't
have their license, by the way. You got to get there. So we can't relate.
Were you going to get it?
Me?
Yeah, I think you were going to get it.
Yeah, I was thinking to do that like driving camp thing that you need any advice
Let me know two weeks.
I mean, the thing is I know how to drive.
Okay, buddy.
I just show me that license.
I haven't driven in about three years maybe.
So I probably have like, you know, forgotten a little bit of it.
But it's like riding a bike, you know, it's like one of the skills you never forget.
Yeah.
One out of ten, how would you rate yourself?
as a driver. Now? Yeah. Probably like a four. Maybe. What about you? Eight? Yeah, mate. Yeah, I think
pretty good. Eight. I mean, you're driving pretty consistently. Yeah. Yeah. But consistent driver doesn't mean
you were a good driver, Jerry. You should know this the best. You know, I look, I get a little,
I speed up sometimes on yellows, but I'd say I'm pretty good. Who doesn't? Come on. Come on.
If I was in America, I'd be literally the best driver on the roads. Yeah. I've seen how they drive,
bro, they drive like Mad Max.
Yeah.
I'm a 10 out 10 driver and I'm one out of 10 Parker.
Ah.
Because I'm, I, okay.
Do you count careful driving as good driving?
Yeah.
I'm more concerned with like, I don't know,
the ability to like adapt to unforeseen situations on the road.
Like, like some people they fucking.
Yeah, like people freak out sometimes on you're,
and like, you know, maybe someone's stopped more than they should have
or there's two cars coming,
you kind of need to get through a little gap.
It's like, what do you do in those situations?
And like that making wise decisions
and quick decisions too.
Yeah.
Maybe I'm not 10 out of 10 driver.
I just remembered when the,
in the Hawaii special,
when I almost went into oncoming traffic.
You did need you do that.
I did.
Not once.
Twice.
But you know, that was,
that was me on a Vespa.
That's different.
You know, on a motorbike,
it's just like, ah, okay.
I'm a different beast with two wheels, you know?
That was a great driver.
The Southeast Asian in me comes out.
Yeah, you were a great job because you had nothing to worry about in that massive truck.
Well, it was great because Joe was holding up all the traffic, so the roads were empty.
Yeah, because I could only go at 35 max.
And my goal was the entirety of Hawaii for a day.
It's pretty impressive.
I was the most careful driver there.
I'm all right.
I mean, driving is whatever, really.
Yeah.
You know.
I legit thing.
I think that's the last time I drove.
Was it actually?
Well, you don't, you don't have to drive when you go back to Australia.
Not really, because like it's either I, well, yeah, because it's either I'm just at my parents' place where all the places I can go to, I can just walk to, or my friends come and pick me up if we're going to go somewhere.
So it's like last time I was like a couple of weeks ago when I was back there, I didn't drive, last Christmas I didn't drive.
Yeah.
Yeah, I don't know.
I just, I think Hawaii might legitimately be the last time I got behind the wheel, which is scary to think.
Are you a serial shotgunner, Joey?
in group of friends?
Within reason.
Nah, you lie.
With you two, yes.
You're always the first one.
You're always the first one, Joey.
If it's us three, one million percent.
I'm like, get the fuck out of my seat.
But, you know, sometimes you got to do a vibe check, you know?
Because, like, sometimes, for example, like,
you know, you might have that one friend who is, like,
a serial, like, you know, car sick kind of guy.
And so, you know, I'll usually let them sit in the front
because you're less likely to get sick in the front.
But if everyone is chill, then, yeah, it's first come first serve.
You know, I'm getting in the front.
Look, I'm not a serial shotgunner,
but shout out to, like, anyone short
who their entire lives has to live with being designated
the middle seat in the back because they are the small person.
I feel for them every time.
Because me, whenever I'm like, okay, you get shotgun,
but then there's that awkward moment where we're like,
okay, we're sitting in the back.
Who's gonna go in the middle?
And I'm like, well, I'm over six foot.
So I got the pass.
I'm tall than all you short asses.
So, it's me.
Yeah.
That's true.
I feel for them every time.
But so you're not getting your license at all.
I do want to just because, you know,
I know how much more convenient it would be to drive.
But also at the same time, it's like,
I don't really need to like buy a car in this point in my life.
Yeah.
I mean, I think.
I got it initially in the UK because I wasn't driving either.
And I was like, I should just get it.
Like, because the moment I get it, I was like, okay, if I get it now,
if I come back to the UK in 10 years, to the UK government,
it looked like I'm the greatest driver of all time.
10 years, no accidents, nothing.
Yeah.
And then when I get insured, yeah, beautiful, cheap insurance.
I'm over 30.
There's nothing on my name, not a blemish on my record.
it'll be fantastic.
So that was my plan.
And then actually turned out that I actually do one,
I actually do it like driving.
And I drove a bit more.
So I always think if you have the time to do it,
it's just like doing a side quest in the game.
Just get it done.
Get the XP.
You never know when you'll need it for the next main quest.
That is true.
Yeah.
You know,
because I just get an obvi to drive me around everywhere.
I'm like, ring, ring, hello,
Shofa man.
Please come to drive.
I'll take you to Costco.
You just never know when it might be handed.
And so I feel like if you just have a spare week
or you're like, I'll just designate this week
and I'll go and get it. That's what I did.
And I'm glad I did really because it's like,
I never look back as like, yeah, I wasted it.
It's like, I just did it and got it.
And that's why I really want to get a, even though this,
I know this is no use.
Me and Nabi want to get motorcycle licenses.
Oh yeah, you've been talking about that.
Yeah, yeah.
Is there a reason why or you just want to check it off your?
I just like, there's this male urge to be able to pilot every vehicle.
Like I want to just be able to.
You need a fucking heavy vehicle.
I do want to get a heavy vehicle license.
I think it would be fucking sick to be like,
oh yeah,
the largest RV or tour bars?
Yeah,
let's rip it.
Let's go.
Like,
I think it'll be awesome.
I think what I do want to do first,
just purely because it's easier to get,
is like the,
the moped license in Japan,
because you can get that in one day,
or not even, like, a half a day.
You just have to, like, take a written test.
Yeah.
Imagine driving a fucking Harley.
Just, obviously,
that wouldn't be the first go-to because it's quite a hard thing to drive.
But just being able to be like,
Let's just fucking go on these beautiful fucking beasts.
I don't know, man.
I'm scared of motorbikes.
Me too.
I will die instantly in my blood condition
if I get in an accident, but it would be fire.
I had a friend of mine almost died in once.
I'm just like, yeah, maybe not.
I just imagine going around Hokkaido, just fucking.
It does sound fun.
There is like, there is something like the manly urge
of just like doing that, you know.
But also pretty much outside of like maybe,
maybe Ludd, every like motorcyclists I know,
You have a conversation with them, and you're like, yeah, I had this, like, fucking, like, terrible accident.
Oh, no, lots had, like, four accidents.
Oh, seriously?
Yeah, like, some pretty bad ones, too.
Okay.
And I was like, yeah, I broke my leg and I was in recovery for, like, six months.
I would never ride a motorcycle in America.
Seeing how they people drive, you are going to die.
Yeah.
Like, straight up.
Like, you just cannot trust people on the road.
Yeah.
Even Japan, I think they're pretty passive drivers, which also is its own danger.
Yeah.
Because people don't really pay much attention.
The thing that scares me about motorbikes is that
I trust myself, but I don't trust everyone else.
You know, and I only takes one person.
I get the Ford F1 FDI.
Hey, if you hit me, you're going to hit the tank.
No, yeah, I agree.
Yeah.
You are putting a lot of trust in a lot of people.
Yeah.
I mean, it's like cycling too.
Like, whenever I pass a taxi, I'm like,
please don't open, please don't open the door.
You know, but you know, you just got to hope that people are doing it.
Like truck drivers as well.
Every time you go by a truck driver, you're like, are you, are you a normal truck driver?
Or are you asleep deprived?
Yes.
Yeah, exactly.
Right.
I only guess, I'm scared when I pass the, like, log trucks or the, like, giant gas trucks.
Yeah, but that's just your fucking final destination PTSD.
You're just like, I just don't want to be near this.
Yeah.
Like, I don't know what could happen.
It was like, I've seen where this is about to go.
Yeah.
Too many fucking horror movies.
just traumatizing you over.
Yeah.
But that Hawaii trip for sure, like, sold me on a moped.
Yeah.
So it's like, I just want to get like a little fucking, you know,
120cc moped and just fucking drive around and shit.
Yeah.
In like the back streets of Japan.
Yeah.
That's a vibe.
Because I don't, I mainly don't go on like the main road on my Vespa.
Because as I said, I don't trust other drivers.
Yeah.
But just like, you know, having a small vehicle to drive around the back streets.
In Tokyo, though, you can get those like tank e-bikes.
though, that are basically mopeds.
Tank e-bikes?
They're like these, those fucking giant e-bikes
that you see them riding.
They're like, they look like tanks.
What?
Rensable ones or?
No, you could just buy it.
I want them to ban it.
Can you search up like,
giant, like, they look like,
they look like monster truck tires.
You've definitely seen them.
Giant e-bikes.
Not, no, that's giant the brand.
Giant.
Which also, they're probably large.
Yeah.
You know the ones I'm talking about?
They're fucking massive.
What?
And like all the Uber Eats dudes have them.
They're almost like that.
Yeah, they kind of look like that a little bit.
Like a mountain bike?
But they're like, they are definitely not built for like mountain biking.
They're just, they.
Like suburban.
They're fucking huge.
And they go as fast as like mopeds.
Oh.
They can go like, yeah, they look like that.
Yeah, those ones.
Oh, that's an e-bike.
I think like, I'm not sure how it's classified in Japan.
but I see a lot of people doing these.
It's a small motorcycle.
That one's probably actually a motorcycle, but there are ones that are like very much,
I think not within regulation.
That one, that one right there, left.
That one?
I see these everywhere.
This is probably what that was expecting on the cycle thing.
Honestly.
Yeah.
So I think they're called electronic bikes,
but I think they can go like 40 kilometers an hour.
Jesus.
And they go so fast and sometimes on the fucking side of the road.
It's so annoying when you're walking.
But like at the point where I'm like, because I think to be classified as an e-bike, it needs to only be able to activate through pedaling, not through like throttling.
So, but I guess if you just want the throttle, but I mean, if you really want a fucking a 40 kilometer an hour thing, you can just get something like this.
Yeah.
You'd also look like a dickhead.
If these things are awful.
But then you can park it anywhere.
Yeah, I mean, that's the use of at least why I like having my vest.
we're in Thailand, you just go somewhere.
And one of the big things I hate is just finding parking.
Finding parking for a big ass car.
True.
And in America, it's like, okay, you go to the parking lot,
but it takes like 10 minutes to walk to like the place you're going to
with how big some of these parking lots are.
Yeah.
Parking lots are kind of ridiculous in America.
Yeah.
Have you ever been to like one of the big malls in America?
And you like, the amount of space they have for a car.
I've been to the biggest.
Went to the biggest one?
No, in America.
American Dream Mall is the newer one in New Jersey.
It's bigger.
Oh, damn.
When were you in Maldive Stadium?
When were you in New Jersey?
In June.
What for?
I was there for a day.
What?
For what?
To stream in the mall.
Oh.
And then I flew to Puerto Rico right after.
Oh, that was for Puerto Rico.
Yeah, I was like the day before.
Oh.
Yeah.
Show this American Dream Mall overhead.
It's kind of ridiculous.
It has a built-in ski slope.
Not American Dream.
Oh, is American Dream? Yeah, it is American Dream Mall.
Sorry. Yes, that's the one.
Three million square feet. Look at this.
Fucking hell.
That's like a small town.
Wait, that doesn't, no, that's not it.
Yeah, actually, okay, show the one of the far right image.
Yeah, that one, because that's the MetLife Stadium.
Yeah.
That's the World Cup Final War. That's the Mall.
That's such a depressing image.
So scroll up.
That is such a depressing image.
Look how big that mall is in comparison to like the World Cup
final stadium
Jesus.
Below it.
So it has a
Ferris wheel
built in.
It's got a
ski slope
which is that
sloped thing.
Yeah.
It's got a whole
water park,
a whole theme park.
The water park's
in that white building
at the very top.
Yeah.
The theme park I think is
in the Ferris wheel is.
No,
the far right.
That kind of like that
I think that's where it is
and the rest of it's all malls.
Jesus.
Can you even go around it
in an entire day?
No.
I mean,
in eight hours
we like barely scratched it.
But,
They were really cool. They gave us literal free reign filming permission.
Right.
It was kind of sick.
They were like, yeah, film whatever you want.
You actually asked for permission?
Yeah, yeah.
Down, that's probably the first time anyone in America is like, ask for...
Yeah, they were like, why are you asking, right?
Yeah, the only thing they said was don't call it a mall.
Wait, why?
Why?
I think they want to, I think, you know, I don't know.
It's a town.
I think they want...
I think they want to, like, separate it by not calling it a mall.
Yeah, because mall...
culture is like dying in America, right?
But I think they want to call it like a retail experience or something.
You know, like these.
Retail experience.
Because you know these consultants, they tell these companies, no court say-
That sounds so much more wankery.
But yeah, they said don't call it a mall, which, like, I didn't sign this agreement,
so I'm not a part of this.
It's not an establishment.
It's an experience.
But you know what's funny?
Because Mr. Bees is filmed here a bunch of times.
I noticed, because after hearing that, and they said, don't call it a mall.
In his videos, he always calls it a mall.
So I'm like, why was I told not to call it a mall?
them all. Because you're not Mr. Beast.
Yeah. Does he get to call them all? Because he has cloud.
But yeah, they have like a whole ski resort.
It's like, we're not ski resort.
It's got like three slopes.
Right. They have like a snow machine going crazy.
That is basically, this is a theme park with.
Oh, yeah.
This is Disneyland for shops.
And it's like, it's like 30 minutes from Manhattan.
Jesus.
It's kind of nuts.
Yeah.
You could easily spend like three days.
Was it fun?
Yeah.
I mean, it's fun, but it's, like, ridiculous, too.
Like, it's insane.
Yeah.
I mean, they needed to do something to revive more culture in America
because there are, there's a lot of malls that are just dying.
So I guess, it's because, like, nobody really wants to go outside.
Nobody wants to go into a place and be like, I'm looking for shopping.
Like, that's kind of dead, I think.
Yeah.
It's all online now.
I think some people like doing that, obviously, but I think generally people like to do activities as well.
So there's like, there's escape rooms.
There's mini golf in there.
There's, you know, those floors with the lights, you have to, like, jump around.
Yeah.
It has that.
It has an aquarium in there.
It's got, um, fucking everything.
So I think the idea is, is that, like, people will spend when it's along other things.
Well, I remember talking to Sydney back in the day, and I'm sure, like, a lot of Americans, you know, that grew up in that era where the hangout place with your friends after school or just outside school was the local mall, you know?
And I was like, that, that sounds.
was so fucking American.
Yeah.
We didn't know.
Where was your local hangouts for?
Mine was,
I grew up in Brighton,
so mine was always Brighton Beach.
You know,
the park.
The park near me.
It was pretty good.
Mine was the local more.
Oh, really?
Yeah,
yeah, yeah.
What did you do?
We'd just like hang out at the food court
or like, you know,
go to like,
electronic store to just like hangout,
bookstore.
They had like a cinema there.
So like back when, you know,
ticket prices weren't,
fucking stupid and kids could, you know, pay for tickets.
Bro, do you remember, do you remember the good old game stores
where you'd, like, go and they'd have, like, demos of the games?
Oh, man.
That was a kid, dude.
Pete childhood experience, man.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That was the shit.
And, like, that mall, I actually went there, like, a couple weeks ago
when I went back to Australia.
And it's like, for the most part, it's relatively the same layout and everything.
And the vibe was still there.
Is it like a Westfield or something?
Yeah, I think it's a, yeah, I think now it became a Westfield.
It used to be the biggest mall in the same.
Southern Hemisphere at one, like when I was a kid. Wow. And it's pretty big, but like, yeah,
I don't know. I could definitely notice the, like, shocking lack of, like, younger people in this
mall. Like, it was, it was all adults or, like, you know, grandparents, parents, like, going, like,
grocery shopping and shit. And it's just like, it's school holidays right now. Where are the kids?
They're like, they're not here at the mall. They got that discord now. They don't need to go out.
Or, I don't know. Maybe they're at the beach or something. Like, I didn't hang out, out
that much. It wasn't, I think after like I kind of got an Xbox, it was like, I'm not leaving
the house anymore. Because like to walk anywhere like to meet my friends was at least a 40 minute
walk or I had to get my parents to drive. Or I could take the bus, but the bus was a bit unreliable.
Yeah. I take the bus to Chester. And sometimes the buses wouldn't show up. So it was like,
I feel like you. So it was like you would, you, whatever you did, you would have to get there like incredibly early.
Or, you know.
Just gamble.
Yeah, because I remember I tried to go on a date with a girl one time.
And the bus didn't show up.
And I didn't know why it wasn't showing up.
And so I ended up being like an hour late,
which obviously wasn't great for a date.
Where was his date?
I was in Chester.
And it was a date.
And I booked like this barbecue restaurant.
And I remember I just fucking showed up an hour late.
Wait, how did she take it?
She didn't take it well.
Because she was on time because she'd
drove there. And so then I
proceeded to eat like
whatever disgusting amount of wings.
Wait, how old were you at the time?
I think I just turned like 17 or 18
or something. Right. Oh yeah. I ate like
an absurd amount of wings.
Yeah. And then
I was like, so we splitting it?
I don't think she liked that.
Because I ate maybe, I think
I ate maybe a triple what she ate.
Yeah. And
Yeah, nothing happened after that.
She didn't, I don't think she was receptive to my wings eating.
Her loss.
Damn.
I'm curious, how did you go about asking to go out on your first date?
Was this like your very first date?
No.
Oh, I was an idea.
I would like, I think I was pretty forthcoming.
Yeah.
When I would ask people, I'd just kind of be like, hey, we didn't want a date.
If they say no, I wouldn't take it too personally.
Yeah.
Because I often would try to ask people who weren't in my school
Because I didn't want to have to deal with that social
Awkwardness
How often did you get to socialize people in other schools?
For me, it was like, I did not get to see any others.
I think this was like at the start of Facebook.
Yeah.
So you just, it was back when you would just weirdly just message people.
Like, I would be like, I have a mutual.
I was too busy on Farmville, bro.
I was just like, I'm not here to socialize.
I'm here to get that PB.
I don't know.
I would see it.
I'm here to grow carrots.
I'd be like, I felt like 15 mutuals with her.
I'd be like, yeah.
They'd be like, yo.
You were braver than me.
I didn't do that.
I was a good message.
I don't know.
I was kind of like, let's,
I just enjoyed being online.
I thought it was kind of freeing
that you didn't have to know who they were necessarily.
Yeah.
But also like my mom kind of forced me to do a lot of sports.
Yeah.
So I would always meet like kids from the other schools at like athletic.
So that's kind of how I met one of my girlfriends, I think,
I first, that I don't want that didn't last long.
Yeah.
She didn't fuck with me.
She didn't fuck with me.
So the amount of wings you ate.
That was not the wings one, no.
I can't take this wing even out now.
She was obsessed with, like, at the time,
she was obsessed with, like, this one band.
And I remember, like,
trying to care so badly about this band
that I just did not care about.
I hope it wasn't lost profits.
No, it was one of those, like,
X-Factor boy bands.
And they all looked like pseudo-justin Biber
in the baby music video.
Yeah, yeah.
And it was like, I tried so hard to like care.
And this is like at their age
where you would literally like be like,
I will change everything about myself
so we can date.
Right, right.
I feel like, I don't know what video games are.
I love Twilight.
That was the one I watched Twilight with in the theaters,
like the last movie that I didn't understand anything.
Yeah.
But I was like, yeah, whatever you want.
Damn.
Did you pretend to enjoy it?
Yeah, of course.
Of course.
Because at the time, I was like, what do you mean for 10?
Because at the time, I was just like incredibly horny.
And I just wanted to like, a girl to like touch me.
Because, you know, I'm like 16.
And I've watched all the American Pie movies.
And that's all I know about.
Right.
Right.
So that was all, you know, I would think about.
Yeah.
So, yeah, I think I met her at like one of the sports I was doing.
And I remember, I don't even know how I,
I don't even know how I courted these girls.
Because I don't think I was doing anything
that was remotely attractive.
I'm sure just reaching out to them.
Just expert gas liar.
It's like, yeah, I love Twilight.
I've read all the books.
I'm a big fan.
Who's your favorite character?
I distinctly remember there was this one point.
I was athletics, yeah, where I was running
and she was like unimpressed
that I couldn't, because I was shit at long distance running.
And she was quite good at it.
And I remember I was just ass at it.
And she was like, oh, shame.
Damn. You let her down, man.
I was like, bitch, give me a javelin.
I'll show you what I can do.
proceeds to stab her.
Yeah.
I throw it.
I can throw it by.
Yeah.
Oh my God.
Yeah.
Silly dating when I was young.
Oh, man.
No, because I remember back in the day, like, my, like, all the schools in my region, we, like, hated each other.
It was like a big rivalry going on.
I mean, of course, you do.
but individuals, you're like, man, I don't care.
Individuals.
I don't care if you got to watch school.
Are you hot or are you not?
That's what matters.
I mean, there was a rivalry between the boys, you know.
Oh, boy, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I remember one time we were like, we almost had to like,
some of the teachers almost had to call the police
because this rival school were, like, rocked up to, like, our field.
And it was like home turf.
And we were like, fuck.
Was it like in your school or?
It was in our school.
I was like after school.
just hang out of my mates playing,
after school.
Yeah, after school playing footy.
Rules are different.
And we're just in the field
and his big group from the school
next was shows up.
And they, you know,
they think they're a bit hard, you know.
One of the main guys literally had a fucking,
like, he was like twirling around like a chain.
And I was just like, what is, what is going on right now?
So it's a GTO shit.
God, yeah.
How did they get resolved?
How do they get resolved?
This is how you know it's fucking school boys.
Oh, oy, you lot, are you from, you from this school, yeah?
And they're like trying to like talk some big, big up themselves.
Fucking teacher comes up, comes out.
They fucking leg it.
Ah, we had a similar thing, but it was a, it wasn't like a rival school coming to Al Turf.
It was during a field trip.
Wait, I think I was like 16 or something.
Like, we're at a boy school, there was another,
there was another like rival boys school
because we were both like sports high schools.
Yeah fucking met each other.
Bro, it was like that scene in like Braveheart
where it was just, fucking riling themselves up being like,
we're gonna take them on, we're gonna beat their ass.
And then the teachers were like, all right, stop that shit.
We, uh, I always told you, right?
My, my, because my wild school was connected to another school.
Yeah, we were connected hallways and we shared a lot of, like,
sports facilities.
Yeah.
And there's some funny quirk.
funny quirks with that that happened.
There was like two stories I can think of.
There's one time where
these two students, because
our schools, again, were connected. You could literally walk
through, and at some points to get to some science
classes, like, I would have to walk
slightly into the other
school to get into mine, or if I went
to a gym class, we'd have to just straight to walk through the
entirety of their high school. So, like,
I would often see their hallways and see them.
And obviously, you know, you'd
oftentimes, because we'd have
after school stuff, and a lot of people knew each other from either
schools. There's one time where like this one kid wanted to do this bit, I don't know why,
during lunch where they like met up and they swapped uniforms and like went into each other's
class. That's hilarious. Which is quite funny. And so, you know, I didn't know the guy too well,
but he went into the other class and, you know, gone for like 30 minutes, went to the toilet and came back.
Yeah.
And he was like, dude, they knew right away that I wasn't meant to be in that.
Because nobody fucking knew who I was.
And the teacher didn't recognize me.
He said it was really fucking awkward.
And it nearly caused a big problem.
But the teacher was like, just get out.
And he's like, why are we wearing the uniform?
Because you just change jumpers.
Yeah.
And then the other kid, I think, went in the class.
And the problem is our school was a Welsh-speaking school.
So the kid, the kid, went in the first.
to like a Welsh only class realized, fuck,
I don't understand anything that is being said.
Apparently teacher was asking me questions like,
da-da-da-da-da, he's like,
so that happened.
That was very funny.
The other thing that happened,
I think I mentioned this once on trash taste,
but because we would always have these,
that we had two gates that were connected.
One of them was quite a tall gate.
One of them was a gate that was just like a car gate,
and it was like,
waist height literally and there was like gaps so you could just literally walk through yeah and every time
there was snow there would always be a snowball fight between the two schools yes well we would just
throw snowballs at each other one time they one of the kids where they were on the other side they
were packing stones oh my god Jesus Christ which is like obviously a big no-no yeah yeah I can kill
someone yeah could be really and uh one of the kids in our school got hit by it and then they they like
all hell broke loose
and they were like, all right, tomorrow
we're all going to fight
at the gate tomorrow at lunchtime.
And so, you know, this, you know,
all day, that day
and next day it's all murmurings of like,
fuck, we're going to have a big fucking ball?
I'll have a big fucking fight.
And so next day comes,
square up,
literally like a hundred people
from each school shows up.
And obviously, it's not going to take long
to shut this thing down.
But in the meantime, they do, like the, they, it's like, it's like gladiator.
Like they both send like a fighter forward to like talk.
And they just start scrapping and kind of like wrestling and not really fighting.
Yeah. But everyone's being very loud, cheering.
And then, you know, a couple more people join in.
And that just becomes a big ball and a big pile on when no one's really getting hurt because
there's just too much shit going on.
And no one's really throwing punches, but there's wrestling.
but then obviously the teachers within like five minutes
starts screaming and break it up
but it was pretty epic for the first 10 minutes
and I was like, I hope someone dies
this is awesome
this is great, I feel like it gladiated
this is sick. We sent our strongest fighter
it was great, it was wonderful
honestly that's just
something about like
that's something primal about that
you know. Yeah, it was great
I loved it. As a guy I was like this is sick
the best part is when like the shitster
Like the one who instigates the whole thing
just gets immediately slimed.
Oh, bro.
It's always so, even if he's on your team,
it's just so funny to watch me, like, come on, man.
Yeah.
Like, don't talk shit if you can't take it, bro.
We should know this, right?
Rule number one.
You know the fucking kid that talks shit
is like the biggest kid that cannot take it.
Yeah, bro's like Piccolo.
He shows up, just be like,
whoa, whoa, where did this piccolo slander come from?
No, bro, bro, bro, you know,
Burroughs shows up thinking he's like tough shit,
just like overlooking everything, immediately gets slime.
I thought you're gonna go with like Yamcha or something, Joey.
No, at least Yamcha has like, you know,
he's humble enough to know that he's not the shit, you know.
Piccolo comes through with the drip and goes like,
yes, I will teach you well, Gohan, immediately gets slime
every single time.
Nah, man, no.
Hey, look, we love him for it though.
I love Piclo.
Does he win any fights?
Huh?
Does he win any fights?
Yeah, yeah, he wins some fight.
He-
Which won?
He wins some, you know.
I'm blanking.
Does he ever go through like a training or transformation?
He does go through a transformation.
He goes through a transformation, yeah.
He merges.
It's been a while since I've seen Dragon.
Because he originally gets sealed by Goku,
like in early Dragon Ball and then comes back as like the new form like Piccolo, right?
Yeah.
With the drip and everything.
With the iconic, you know, cape and everything.
But again, bro shows up with the drip immediately gets slimed every single time.
It's so funny.
Oh, God, man.
Yeah.
We love them for it. It's fine.
Who's got the best win-loss ratio in...
Oh, here we go, here we go, here we go.
In Dragon Ball?
No, no.
60-40.
60 loss, 40 wins.
Yeah, that's the thing.
The guy who has the best win-loss ratio still has a higher loss ratio.
Surely it's Goku, right?
Surely.
Didn't bro die twice?
Yeah, but like win-loss ratio.
He died twice?
Yeah.
I mean, uh, wants to AIDS apparently.
Yeah.
If you remember that.
Never forget.
Never forget.
This reminds me of when JJK was coming out,
and people were like breaking down each character's win-loss ratio
in the entirety of the series.
Okay, so Goku apparently, according to a YouTube video,
wins 65% of the time.
Only 65%.
Well, because like half the time he like starts the five,
And then he's just like, nah.
How many fights do you need to win to be considered like the goat?
What was Muhammad Ali's win-loss ratio?
Okay, for boxers it's different because they have like,
they normally have like crazy win-loss.
Because like, you know, you kind of got to juice your record.
Yeah, but I, okay, what was his record?
Yeah, look up.
Look it up, look it up.
The ghost.
Because I don't think it was 100%.
No, no, no, no.
It was like 40 to like three or four or something.
Yeah.
It wasn't, it was.
Okay, 91%
Yeah
56 out of 601
Okay, Goku's got a while to get down
My goat is like
Yeah, my goat is lost
My god has a lot of fights
Early on in their career
That are like normal
Like I think when they're not
I could be a mistaken here
But when they're like kind of
Showing a lot of promise and talent
They'll normally put them against fights
That often, you know
Kind of not not win
But you know
To kind of get them in the ring
Get them fighting people
And they'll often have opponents
Because there are a lot of people
in boxing that have like zero and 30.
Yeah.
Like so many people with absolutely dog shit records
because they're like, they just like fighting,
but they're like stepping stones.
They are the photo character in every show in anime.
Also, biggest difference between Muhammad Ali and Goku
is that, you know, average boxing matches
don't last 80 episodes.
Yeah, so.
I don't know, man.
10 rings, sorry, 10 rounds, that sounds like.
Is it 12 rounds?
I don't know why I thought it was 10.
I don't know.
I don't know.
12 rounds of three, right?
I don't know.
Let's let's check.
Let's check.
How can you tell that we don't watch boxing?
I've never been into boxing, so I have no idea.
Let's let's find out.
I feel like it's 12.
How many rounds are?
You are right.
Oh, there you are.
12 rounds.
It's pretty long.
Yeah.
Like it's, I mean, my God.
Gashed out.
Yeah, but is that as long as the nanics saga?
I've even tried to do like a three minute round.
of boxing, where you've like swung.
Yeah.
I'm sweating.
Dashed by like minute two.
Yeah. I'm cooked. Yeah. I remember doing, it wasn't boxing, but I remember doing like
Muay classes and we did like some sparring and I was just like, fucking hell. Yeah.
This is one round? Bro, I ain't lasting like three. Yeah. You are absolutely gassed after
after one single round. It's kind of fucked. But that's why you just need so much cardio.
Even the Olympics is like, it's like half, I think.
They don't, they don't do 12 rounds.
Yeah, I know Olympics that don't do as many.
I assumed it was like, I don't know why I thought it was 10.
And there's just two minutes in Olympics, I think.
Yeah.
Three rounds.
I consist of three rounds.
Jesus, that's like.
Fucking hell.
Baby modes, man.
Yeah, imagine training to be in the Olympics.
And then it's like, okay, now you're going to do professional.
It's like, nine more rounds.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's like, just a different sport at that point.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But you know, we don't, you know, 80, 80 episodes.
It's not even 80 episodes.
It was like, it was like 10 episodes, Joey.
What, the Namix song?
That she was like 80 episodes, bro.
I mean, that wasn't one fight, though.
That wasn't, that is true, yeah.
Okay, it's the, it's the freezer fights that people,
that is like infamous now.
And that is a trope I'm glad has died in anime.
It's just like, it feels weird now that, like,
the longest fight in anime now,
last for like two episodes. I can't remember the last time there was a fight that lasted more than
that. Well, it's, you know, it's kind of, you don't need all those episodes to get the point
across. Right? Like, have you ever tried watching like an old anime where it maybe it's like a
sports anime or maybe it's like a fighting anime where you're like, damn, the pacing with this is so
fucking off. Because I remember trying to watch slam down.
I love the manga. But my God, my gods, the pacing of the anime. Yeah. That's some old school
90s pacing. Yeah, it's old school patting out because there was like, oh, incredibly popular
manga series. Let's just fucking milk out as many episodes as possible. Yeah. I feel like Dragon
Ball started that whole thing too. Yeah, he was like, I remember. Well, it was the Saturday cartoons,
you know, it's this kind of vibe of like, you're not really keeping up with every episode. So,
it's kind of fine to have this kind of general fight.
Yeah.
Episodes, right?
Because the worst part about watching, at least in the West,
was like, they just never aired episodes in order.
Right.
They would just fucking play an episode.
Yeah.
Which is crazy.
That's crazy.
That we all watched these shows completely out of order.
Yeah, yeah.
And we all didn't care.
Why do you think media is taking longer to make in the modern day?
Is it?
Liberals.
Woke 2.0.
They want more rights for the workers' guards.
It's just gotten bigger.
You think so?
Yeah, I think, like, the teams that make all these things have gotten bigger
because there's more money in media now.
You think that's the same for, like, TV series?
Well, TV series is different because it was like,
they used to, what is it?
Oh, there's a whole, I read a whole thing about this.
Because they used to, what was it called?
Not franchise.
They used to commission.
It was like a minimum of, like, 20.
They would never even bother ordering like 10 episodes of something.
Yeah.
It's like, what is the point?
Because we have so many slots to fill.
And there was only TV where, you know, you need really slots from nine to like 11 or 12.
And you have half hour or hour things.
And you need so much stuff on the TV network.
And so they just needed people to pump shit out.
So they were just quicker to write it.
But then also like the quality often was okay or not as good.
Generally speaking.
I mean, Jed, I feel like a lot of older TV shows do definitely suffer from,
I don't know if filler is the right word, but definitely, definitely padding out.
I mean, like you think about shows like Breaking Bad,
because that was kind of on the back end of TV,
that you have the episode like The Fly, which is kind of famous,
which is the filler episode.
Yeah.
Where they're in the lab and they're trying to get the fly.
Yeah.
It's just a whole episode that was like...
People like that episode, though.
Yeah, those episodes are divisive, but they're kind of like breathing space with the character.
Or like, you know, like musical episodes are gone.
Like, you know, like when they would randomly have like a musical episode in a show.
Like what?
Yeah, you don't know this?
Like what show, for instance?
A lot of like sitcoms would just randomly have musical episodes that were...
Did friends have one?
Google musical episodes.
Friends?
I don't think I've watched enough sitcoms.
I know that Scrubs had one, but that just fit with the tone of the show.
Scrobs, always sunny in Philadelphia,
community, 70s show.
It was a pretty popular thing.
They would just have these episodes
or even like Seinfeld had the
Chinese restaurant episode that's famous.
It's why they didn't leave it.
Like everything was just done in one location.
No.
Yeah, there's like a bunch of shows that do this.
They would just have a episode
that was filmed in one set to make it.
Okay, we need 24 episodes.
Well, okay, well, we just got a fucking riffle
one like this or we'll do a recap episode which no one likes.
Yeah.
It's like they, you know.
I mean, I mean, those were sitcoms back in the day where, you know,
obviously you had like the OG sitcoms where it's like one set, live audience, whatever.
Can laughter.
Big Bang Theory.
Big Bang Theory.
Oh my God.
I'm so glad that we've evolved away from that era of sitcom.
Yeah.
But then Young Sheldon was a show that you've probably not heard anything about.
I know the name.
You can say spin-off series.
Yeah, I've heard of Young Sheldon.
And it was, I believe, one of their most popular TV shows.
If not, I think it's more popular than Big Bang Theory,
I could be wrong on that one.
Are you for real?
Can you Google was Young Sheldon popular?
I believe it was.
Like, from what I remember seeing some stats about it,
and I was shocked.
The fact that Big Bang Theory.
Immensely popular.
We're for 141 episodes,
and it regularly pulled in
as one of the most watched comedy series
on American Network television.
This is...
Pulling an 11 million at views per episode.
Pete co-worker comedy.
Yeah.
Yeah.
This is.
Yeah.
This is definitely it.
Like...
I just don't trust you if this is your favorite show.
No.
But it was really, really, really, really popular and extremely well received.
Right.
Which is kind of crazy.
Did you ever watch The Office?
Yeah.
Yeah, I watched All The Office.
The American one, right?
Yeah.
Well, what is your opinion of it?
Was it a good show?
bad show.
I mean,
it was a good show at the time.
Yeah.
It's one of those shows
that is probably less funny
if I watched it now.
It's,
even that humor
was very millennial.
It's weird
that the office now
has become like the symbol
of just like,
oh,
you have no taste.
Generic white,
you have generic taste.
Yeah.
And I definitely feel called out
because I never watched
all of the office,
but I definitely seen some episodes.
And it's no big bank theory.
I think,
I think it's genuinely like,
funny in a lot of episodes, in a lot of moments.
I think because it was like, when you asked people
what their favorite show was, a lot of people would say the office.
Yeah.
Because it was like a much better crafted show, I'd say,
than like Big Bang Theory.
It was the more like culturally acceptable answer.
Yeah.
So I think like when something becomes kind of a safe choice,
people kind of mock it.
Yeah.
Right.
It's like nobody's going to say Big Bang Theory is your favorite
because everyone's going to be like, ew.
Yeah.
You can beat up.
But I think that's why you make fun of someone who likes the office
because it's like, oh, you, you didn't dare to explore.
Yeah, that's pedestrian.
Yeah.
You know.
Yeah.
Which is like, you know.
But then now TV is so different, right?
It's like everything is like such a massive production.
And it's like they're basically movies that are 10 episodes.
I mean, some of them are.
I would say that not everyone, but, oh, I'm trying to think.
I guess it depends on TV.
What is that basic ass TV show you've watched that is like not daytime TV, but not a massive
production?
Basic ass.
Because like I think like when I think basic, I'm like those like kind of come down with me.
Yeah.
Those real real estate shows.
The real estate show.
The real estate show.
Extremely easy replicable.
I mean, I could just tell you Sydney's playlist, which is there's one where everyone's on a boat as well.
Oh, fuck.
I'm going to, I'm going to ask Sydney.
I'm going to message Sydney right now.
You a new phone?
Oh yeah. I do have. I mean, it's just a new Samsung.
Oh. Why?
I had to, I literally had to get one. I don't know. I don't know, has this ever happened to you?
Uh, my battery expanded. No, that is not.
From my old, I did not know this was a thing. I guess, Kai, search up like, you didn't know this?
Battery puffing. I did not know this. This is very common. Yeah. Yeah. This happens a lot. Yeah.
Normally when you've subjected your. That's how they explore.
phone to a moment of too much heat.
Yeah, so do you remember when we're on the,
I was on the cyclathon and I was like,
Oh, my phone doesn't charge.
Yeah, my phone doesn't charge.
You still had that phone until like last week?
No, no, I changed my phone a month ago, so.
You were using a phone that couldn't charge for like half a year plus?
That's why I always, that's why I always brought like a portable charger with me.
It was just super, because I did not know why it wasn't charging.
And then, because it was in this case,
Because it was in the case, I didn't notice that like the back was falling off, right?
So like one day, my case just like popped off.
I was like, what is going on?
And then the screen was literally lifting off the phone.
And that was when I had found out this very dangerous thing.
Oh, very dangerous.
That your battery can puff up and fill up with gas.
How did you get rid of it?
Huh? How should get rid of it?
I was actually in Thailand at the time when it was like really,
really, really puffed up.
Japan, it would be like, wait, five business days.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
You know, okay, no, I'll carry on.
Be your story.
I'll complain about this in the moment.
I don't know.
And that was pretty much it.
I just, like, had to get a new phone, like,
almost immediately because it just wouldn't turn on.
You weren't on, like, a plane or something, you know,
when if it never just fucking popped.
Yeah.
A lot of airlines now banned you from using
portable charges.
Portable charges, yeah.
Yeah.
Which makes sense.
I mean, there's outlets, just, you know.
Yeah.
Sorry, what were you going to say before?
What were you angry about?
Can you, in your area where you live,
are you able to just like,
able to get rid of batteries?
Yeah.
Nope.
Yeah, I can't either.
Oh, I can't.
I have to go to the ward office
to get rid of batteries.
What?
Yeah, that's the only place
I can get rid of batteries.
Yeah.
You too?
Yeah.
So, or you know why she has a service
where they actually collect.
Oh, they do?
I didn't realize this.
I had a bunch of batteries.
You mean like double A's and triple A?
Yeah.
What?
Because in my old place, I was able to put it in like a once a month.
They collect it.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And the Moyni-Gomi?
Yeah, it's like a non-burnable.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You just have to like seclude it.
Yeah, but no.
I want to have to go to the ward office now.
And I was like, what?
What?
I just want to get rid of some batteries, bro.
I didn't think it was that deep.
That's ridiculous.
So now I'm just got to wait and save up.
I'm like a battery hoarder until I need to go.
You just have like a bag full of dead batteries.
Yeah, I do.
I have like a sizable bag of dead batteries right now.
Damn.
I'm just like waiting until it's too full where I'm like,
this will feel good to get rid of.
But I didn't know he'd get rid of him in Yodabashi.
Thank you for that tech. That's actually useful.
Below deck. That's the show.
Below deck.
Yeah.
Never.
Every time, this, this just shows how different the circle one is.
What is this, bro?
So it is just...
There's 12 seasons of this shit?
She has watched all 12 seasons.
12 seasons of this.
Holy fuck.
And it's literally just the life of,
uh,
the crew members on a cruise ship.
And every time Sydney mentions this to someone,
everyone's like,
yo,
I love below deck.
Actually sounds quite interesting.
Yeah.
Actually sounds quite interesting.
Uh, yeah.
I'd like to know about what it's like to work on a boat.
Uh,
yeah,
apparently is,
uh,
there's a lot of drama and a lot of shit going on constantly.
I don't know.
I don't watch it.
I don't watch my trash TV
is made up by the anime shows
that I watch.
So I don't need something like this in my life.
I love watching like any British versions
of like them following someone's job,
which is really fun, the British ones.
It's like the police ones in the UK.
Oh, yeah.
It's just so, because I'm over-exposed
to American police videos
because the body cam stuff is everywhere.
And so then going back to the British one
feels so refreshing.
He'll be like a naked guy streaking
and they'd be like, come on, mate,
just put your bloody pants on.
And you're like, go down.
Go fucking down.
It's like, bro, he's got a cupcake.
It's like, it's just,
put your hand off your car.
He's, he's getting his car.
So yeah, it's just nice.
I know the Aussie ones are pretty similar.
Oh, my God, the Aussie ones are so far.
Yeah, I think the Aussie ones are even superior.
Yeah.
One of my favorite clips
that I've seen is this, this guy
who got,
pulled over for drunk driving.
And he had like a whiskey bottle,
like an empty whiskey bottle.
This is for blue zero?
Yeah, he blew zero.
He was clearly drunk, blue zero.
Yeah, he is, he is a fucking hero.
You know, absolutely, absolute legend,
like empty bottle.
And he literally says, yeah, I've been kind of like drinking this,
you know.
Oh, there's so many of those in Australia.
There's the other guy which is like,
I'm just waiting for a man guy.
That's classic.
That's a classic.
Where like the guy literally,
the cops find this guy just like the car off the highway in like a fucking ditch.
And it's just like teaboned a theme.
And again, the rocks show up and the guy's just like chilling with his arm out on the side.
And he's just like, what are you doing here, mate?
And he's just like, I'm just waiting for a mate.
I love all the videos.
You can't park here.
Yeah, he's like, you can't park here, sir.
Oh, that's good to know.
He's keeping himself entertained.
Yeah, I mean, she's watching The Sopranos now.
Oh, wow.
She's going through the list of shows.
Well, actually, Didas convinced her to watch the Spranos.
Dude, Dytas always brings it up.
Any time you talk to him, he's like,
you gotta watch the Sopranos.
I'm like, okay.
Yes.
That, that's, and what's the other HBO show
that everyone says is like the greatest TV show
for all the time?
The Wire.
That and the Wire has always been on like my list.
Oh, is that the shit one?
Yeah, Edushalba.
Yeah, yeah.
That's how you know it.
That's all I know about the Wire.
This and the Wire has always been on my...
I do want to watch it,
And I tried to, but the first season was so slow.
This feels like a Chris show.
I can't put my finger on it, but this very much feels like a Chris show.
Yeah.
It just was fucking amazing in this, though.
Yeah.
But, yeah, those are the two TV shows that have been on my list for ages to be like,
I'm going to watch this someday.
But today is not that day.
I'm going to continue watching Marvel Slop, I guess.
Well, hopefully it's going well for you.
It's not.
Oh, it's not.
Wow, what a shock.
All right.
Well, we can talk about your marvel sloth in future.
Yeah.
You know, doom stays out.
Yeah.
All right.
Hey, look at these patrons, though.
I'm sure they watch good TV shows.
Maybe.
I don't know.
