Starting point is 00:00:00 I'm going to regret bringing this up, but I used to make these TikToks where I talk about like what foods are for hot people and what foods are for ugly people. I said that beans were for ugly people. Oh my gosh. That was me. That was you. Oh, my God. Esther. Hi, Caroline.
Starting point is 00:00:21 Nobody asked her it. Nobody wanted it. But our podcast, glowing up, is back. We're back. We're back, baby. And this time. Oops, we're mommies. We are back to talk about all the things that we love talking about.
Starting point is 00:00:35 How ugly we are. What we like to eat, what we're watching. And Motherhood. The first episode of glowing up will be out this Thursday. You guys check it out. And every Thursday after that. Forever. This time forever, Pinky Square.
Starting point is 00:00:50 Welcome back. What's in your ear? What's in my ear? You're itching your ear. Oh, so you guys don't have this? The insides in my ear are like on fucking. fire all night and day I'm like this and I don't know if it's like perimenopause
Starting point is 00:01:08 or I'm just an itchy bitch right now from allergies. Let's go to a doctor. Can somebody like look in here? I'm not doing well you guys. I'm like this all day. What's going on? Were you swimming? No, I just have itchy ears from life. You guys don't never happens to anyone? I've had like sinus infections or like my ear hurts. Right, it's a bad allergy week. Okay, let's introduce our guests.
Starting point is 00:01:29 Okay. We have a legend in the deportation space. Please welcome Tony Varra. Hey. Mara? Yeah. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:01:40 And then we have Luke. Hey. How do we say what Luke is? Our son. He's a com- He's an ice officer. I'm representing the other side. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:51 Devil's Advocate. We both agreed he's our favorite comedy store door guy of all time. Yeah, he works at a comedy store. He's a comedian. And he's just kind of like, he just exists here now. Yeah. He lives here now in the back space over there. He's just like,
Starting point is 00:02:04 hear when we think about it. I mean, it appears. Perfect. I wanted to ask you when you see deportation officer ICE agents that are brown, does it like make you like glitch internally? Yes and no. Yes, in the way of like what? Can I curse? I'm like, girl, what the fuck are you doing? Like actually, I'm like, was the check not good? Like actually.
Starting point is 00:02:27 But then in the way of like no, because I know it's so common like I because I work in like in the immigration space. I know that. that majority of like, not ICE, but like border patrol officers are Latino. So that's not really surprising to me. But then I'm always kind of in the back of my head. I'm like, girl. What is your backup country? I fear for you.
Starting point is 00:02:45 Why do you fear for me? Because you have no backup country. Like my backup country, it's like if all shit goes to hell. Like my sister, she was born in Mexico so we can go to Mexico. I was born in the Philippines. I can go to the Philippines. Not going to be much better. But, you know, like, where are you going, little one?
Starting point is 00:03:00 First of all, I'm Jewish. So that's really rude. Yeah. Okay, because you know I really have nowhere to go. I guess I would just, you know, channel my great grandma and go to Finland. Oh. You're Finnish? Yeah, I'm half Finnish.
Starting point is 00:03:15 But I don't. That's like new. That's like exotic to me. I've never been and don't have any association with it because I'm, you know, when you're half Jewish, that really takes over. Wait, wait a second. Can you look up if Finland accepts dual citizenship? Because there could be a pathway for you to be saved after all. Where are you going to go?
Starting point is 00:03:38 I guess in some sort of bunker or something. Actually, you're fine. Maybe I'll come with you to, why am I fine? Because you're just like a normal white guy, right? I'm Jewish as well. You are? Yeah, I might get clipped in the end. Are you half or full?
Starting point is 00:03:51 There's a trend. Full. But I'm not religious. I didn't see that coming. You didn't see that coming. Did you? No. I thought for sure, but you're our radar for that.
Starting point is 00:03:59 Is this where I'm getting kicked off the show? Yeah. It's just not working out. Okay, so Finland does allow multiple citizenship. You don't have to give up your American citizenship. Some countries make you do that. Oh. Like which ones?
Starting point is 00:04:11 Korea. I think Spain makes you do that too. Well, it's like Spain makes you do it because that was my mom's like black up country the whole other story. But like let's say I want to get Spanish citizenship. Spain makes me give it up. But like so to Spain I'm only a Spanish citizenship if I became like a Spaniard. But like U.S. is like I don't care what they say.
Starting point is 00:04:29 Like you're so an American. Which is kind of beautiful if you think about it. They're like we don't go and fuck what they say. Like, you're still American. But to Spain, you're only like a Spanish citizen. Korea, they make you give it up. Like, you cannot be anything else. Because you want to go there?
Starting point is 00:04:40 No, I just have a lot of Korean people in my life. Bobby Lee? My ex, yeah. You could just say. But your family is from El Salvador and Honduras? Yeah, my mom is from El Salvador and my dad's from Honduras. What actually happened? Your mom was actually deported.
Starting point is 00:04:56 So I used to live in L.A., right? Yeah. And, like, I got a call randomly. Mind you, I was irritated the fuck. Like because I got woken up at like 8 a.m. Mind you, my sister's calling me and I'm like, what the fuck do you want? Like it's 8 a.m. over here, right? And she's like, you need to come home.
Starting point is 00:05:10 Like, they got my mom. And I was like, what are you talking about? And your mom was in Virginia? My mom was in Virginia. Because I grew up. I was born and raised there, right? And I was really confused. I was like, what do you mean?
Starting point is 00:05:18 Who's they? Like, who the fuck is they? Right? And she's like, oh, like the police. So I was a little confused because obviously my first instinct is ice. Right? And so basically, like, what had happened was like the police made her go testify. because she was like a victim in like a domestic violence case.
Starting point is 00:05:31 And they made her go testify. Yeah. They made her go testify. And like ICE was like, oh my God, she's at a courthouse. Let's pick her up. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:37 So basically my mom, she never wanted to go to the courthouse because she had a feeling, especially under Trump that like she was going to get picked up. And like what happened? She got picked up at a courthouse by ICE. I flew that day. Like that day like I got on a flight. I actually flew out of Long Beach weird house airport.
Starting point is 00:05:51 I hate that airport. Oh my God. Don't say that's my favorite. It's just it's weird. Like it's like kind of outside. Like it's very confusing. But that was the first time I ever flew from Long Beach. So, like, I went there.
Starting point is 00:06:03 Like, wait, I can't, Mom, I can't help you. Hold on. Let me just. Just an aside. And so they moved here to L.A. with you? No, so we moved in with my paternal grandma. Oh, okay. So, like, my dad's mom. I actually planned for it, actually, which I can kind of get into later.
Starting point is 00:06:18 But, like, that was always like a thing where I had a backup plan just in case because I kind of knew as soon as Trump was elected. Really? And then my grandma was like, here's a room in the house. Like, you don't have to pay rent. Don't worry about that. Like, here's a room for you and your siblings. Like, obviously, we know you're paying rent in LA.
Starting point is 00:06:31 Like, here's a room. Don't worry about it. You guys have, like, a roof to sleep and, like, food on your table. So that was kind of like the beginning. You know, it's so crazy because I think a lot of people, especially if they're, sorry, Luke, but if they're white. Yeah, sorry, Luke. Sorry, Luke.
Starting point is 00:06:48 You wouldn't understand what we're talking about at all. It just feels like a very, like, distant idea that someone would get picked up by right um and then for us like people you know brown folks who have like family that are you know either even if you're like a green card holder like my mom was a green card holder for a long time and we always thought that was like the safe like she's safe she's safe nothing's going to happen and then trump got elected i'm like lady you got to get your citizenship real quick yeah but it's it seems so close to home and for others it seems so far away like it's some fucking fairy tale like we concoct that it could it's actually not happening to people that we know which is like kind of sad you know there's like that disconnect to what's really happening and it's crazy that you had a backup plan that it's so real for people that you actually had a plan for when this could or would happen no yeah literally like the day trump was elected i called my grandma i was like hey i was like hey in case my mom ever gets supported please let me know that you'll take care of like my sibling because i wasn't ready to be like a parent i was like oh hell no i was like an eight year old are you crazy and my grandma was like yeah like i got you all
Starting point is 00:07:57 Obviously that's not going to happen, but like, you know, Primero Dios, it happened. I was like, well, I guess, second of God, you know. And then, so then you had to take your brother to El Salvador? Yeah, so I took my little brother because he just, he would like have panic attacks over, like, missing my mom, which he's eight years old. Oh, my gosh. I can't even deal because I have a son. She has a son. It's not.
Starting point is 00:08:18 And it would be like a thing where, like, the smallest trigger, like, if I would make him like chicken and rice, he's like, this doesn't taste like my mom's food. And then he would just start crying. And like, I was just like, oh, my God. What am I supposed to do? For real, Tony White, didn't it taste like your mom's food? Girl, I'm over here, like, using, like, minute rice and over here, like, chicken. I air fry my chicken. He wants it, like, fried in a pan with sauce.
Starting point is 00:08:37 And I was like, oh, my God. Oh, my God. And that little kid, like, you tell him it's Chinese food and he'll eat, whatever. That's the kind of hack that my mom told me. Like, if I make him grilled cheese and white rice, put a little soy sauce sauce, I'll say it's Chinese food, he'll eat it. He doesn't care. Oh, what? But, yeah, then I took him to Honduras, and then he was living with my mom when we were planning like, kind of like that whole movie.
Starting point is 00:08:56 to Spain, which obviously, like, I don't want to say backfired, but kind of like, just didn't work out the way that we wanted it to. Wait, so your, but your mom was not sent to a detention center. No, she was. She was there for July, August 7th. She was there for two months. Yeah, well, multiple. Were you able to stay in contact with her during? So it was actually crazy because, like, the first two, I want to say, like, the first two weeks was hell. Like, the first two weeks was hell because there would be, like, three-day periods where, like, we wouldn't hear from her. And I was just like, obviously, I think the words on my first. like they kill my mom like they kill my mom especially with like the stuff you see in the news i'm like
Starting point is 00:09:30 like they kill my mom but then she would literally call me and be like one day she's like oh i'm in shantilly virginia oh i'm in louisiana oh i'm in like southern virginia oh i'm in texas like because they were moving her because they wanted her to like give up because they have like the paper always like hey you want to sign this like voluntary like deportation and also like you my mom would just tell me all this stuff like they were really trying to play in her fucking face like they'd be like oh like they would talk to her be like oh this this paper is like so that you can get a lawyer. My mom will look at them. I'm like, y'all know I know English, right? Like, because they fully thought my mom just didn't speak like English.
Starting point is 00:10:01 Oh my gosh. My mom's like, I know English. I can read that this has voluntary deportation, like actually. I knew her A number because like that's kind of like the immigrant experience. Like you, especially like having a documented parents, like you always kind of know your like family's A numbers. Yeah. So like ICE has this like detainer, detainee locator, whatever. And I would look her up and like literally almost like every three days, it would change what state she was in because they were just flying her like literally everywhere. What? Why? I guess it's like a tactic that they used to kind of like make people like give up because they're like.
Starting point is 00:10:31 Tortures. Yeah, basically. Eventually, she's settled in like, it's called Carnes County Immigration Processing Center. It's like right outside of San Antonio. So that's kind of like where they kept her. But they also took her multiple times to Basil, Louisiana, something like that. Because they have another like detention center there where they would fly people to El Salvador in Honduras every single day. They just have this budget to just like a bunch of bullshit.
Starting point is 00:10:54 I just spent $900 to fly coach to Chicago. Coach is economy? Yeah, economy. My coach. Do we not say coach anymore? I've never heard that term. You've never heard the term. I feel like I know what it is.
Starting point is 00:11:09 And I was like, okay, coach is like economy, sure. Yeah, shit. Okay. That's like Bobby's still saying like stewardess. I was like, okay, pan out. That got like eliminated in the 50s. I know. Like secretary.
Starting point is 00:11:22 Okay. Wait, so then how? How did she eventually escape this, like, system of being tortured on plates? Yeah, so basically, I can, I guess she kind of, like, calmed down after they kind of, like, settled her in, like, the, I'm going to say San Antonio just for, like, simpler terms. But when they, like, settled her down in San Antonio, that's kind of like when we were like, okay, now that you're, like, in one place, then that's when we knew we could visit her. That's when we went to go visit her for the first time. And this was, like, I want to say, like, three and a half weeks into, like, the first day she was taken. So, like, you know, my brother was going through it.
Starting point is 00:11:54 God, it was summer. Oh my God. I can't even imagine like my siblings going to school during this time. Because like I knew I couldn't have done it. Like, wait. And then like what were you able to tell like your little brother? Like what does he know? Does he know the extent of how ice He didn't know anything. Because I remember because my mom actually was deported before like when I was like seven. Like so I remember her being in detention. But I was just like yeah, my mom went to jail. She went to jail. She went to prison. I thought it was cool. I was like my mom went to prison. But I didn't realize that she was in a detention center before. Like my mom stole mascara. But they stayed in the United States. She came back. Oh, she came back. Because she was deported, right?
Starting point is 00:12:27 I asked my aunts because they're the ones that took me in after the first time. I was like, what do I tell him? Because he was literally the exact same age I was. They were like, girl, we didn't tell you shit. We didn't tell you shit. We told her that she was on a business trip, that she was working. And I was like, okay. Like, I felt bad lying to him.
Starting point is 00:12:43 But like, I told him, I was like, she's in a business trip. Like, she's working. Yeah. So like any time. That is the correct move because I can't imagine like telling an eight-year-old. How do you even explain that? Like, he don't even know what ICE is. Like, actually.
Starting point is 00:12:56 Have you heard of Trump? Start here. Yeah. Oh. Yeah. So then I basically just. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:02 When my dad went to prison, my mom told me that he was at work. No, yeah. I feel like everyone gets told that. Yes. And the reason why there was glass was because he was giving food to other people. Yeah. So he couldn't get the germs to the other side. Oh.
Starting point is 00:13:17 No, yeah. With the glass thing. Because I remember her being like in a detention center, like when I was young. And I remember like, I like, I literally. I'm not going to explain in detail because I literally will start crying, but like literally like the whole cliche thing of putting your hand up to the wall with like the big thick glass in between you. Like that literally was like, I thank God like right now that like we got to see my mom. It was like even though they yelled at us anytime like she would hug my brother. They were really weird about it.
Starting point is 00:13:42 But yeah, this recent time like we saw her four times that we visited her and it was 30 minutes. Like if you didn't show up at like you're a lot of time. They would kick you the fuck out. And as soon as that 30 minutes hit, they're like, get up, get up, get up. You gotta go. Who do these people think they are? And again, it's always like, oh, that's why I would get irritated, especially because it's Santa, it's Texas.
Starting point is 00:14:00 So, like, I would walk in and I would see someone with like, gotta a pus right on their front. And I'm like, okay. And they're like, are you Anthony Givar? Just them pronouncing the names in English. I'm just like, mind you, it says Officer Ramirez. And I'm like, and I'm like, okay, sure, sure. And they would always give me a hard time checking in too.
Starting point is 00:14:18 Because I'm definitely on some kind of list. Like, no shit. Like, I'm definitely on some kind of list because of my content. A story I literally tell all the time is that like the second, after the second time I visited her, my mom called me that night. She was like, guess what happened today? And I was like, what happened? And she told me that in ice, because the thing is like a lot of people don't know this, but like in a lot of detention centers, there's no ICE officers there. They're all like private people from like geo group or like whatever, like officers or whatever.
Starting point is 00:14:41 So especially the women centers. Like they'll send ICE agents like once a week to do like the interviews and like do deportations and facilitate all that paperwork and stuff like that. So there's not ICE agents every single day. So she told me that there was an ICE agents like. agent that walked up to her and she was like oh you're that tick tockers mom whoa and she was like how do you know my son's a ticotker and he was like this whole building knows your son's a ticotker he all they all saw his little viral video bitch little two million like excuse me i'm like that's not little that's not little but basically yeah and they said that like their system like
Starting point is 00:15:12 picked up my face like facial recognition when i walked in me what the hell and i remember that camera saw the next two times i was like like because i'm a bitch i'm a bitch and i was like Like that and I was like oh no I'm sound kind of list That's why every single time I come back into the US They put me into the like the questioning room Every single time no matter what mind you I have global entry What the fuck am I paying global entry for? I know what the hell global entry is supposed to just slide on it really fast
Starting point is 00:15:36 Like anytime it's like right over my face And then I get to send to the room Mind you I'm over here I'm what no shade why am I in here I was born in the United States in one of the original 13 colonies mind you Virginia why am I in this room And they question me for like 10 minutes straight You go into the questioning room and they're like, so is it that you're posting every day? Or is it about the quality of content that you're posting?
Starting point is 00:15:57 Like, just two million likes. I don't know how you get there. And they were accusing me of having a stolen passport. And they were like, and I was like, mm-hmm. And they were like, your password was reported stolen in October. And I was like, mm-hmm. Yeah, I reported stolen. It was fucking stolen.
Starting point is 00:16:11 But the thing is, I'm a bitch. And the thing is, I shouldn't do it because I'm going to get to put on no fly list eventually. I was like, mm-hmm, reported stolen in October. Can you tell me when that one was issued? He opens it up. October. I was like, mm-hmm. So I report is stolen and then I went to go get a fucking new one.
Starting point is 00:16:27 That's how it works. So he was like, you're good to go. Here you go. And I was like, oh, my God. Mind you, before all this bullshit happened with my mom, I, listen, might be like a little colonialist of me. But anytime I came into the U.S. and they would be like, welcome home, I would feel patriotic as fuck.
Starting point is 00:16:43 I'm like, welcome home or welcome back. I'm like, thank you. USA, USA. Now it's like, oh, a CPP agent needs to talk to you. Me? What the fuck? I'm like, what the hell? Every single time, no matter what.
Starting point is 00:16:53 When I come back from Spain, when I came back from El Salvador, when I came back from Spain, I like to go to Spain a lot. Is the food in Spain really good? It's a bomb, girl. I know a lot of people say like, oh, like, the food's not good. They just don't know where to look. I love Spanish food. I do. You know where I love, the best Spanish food I have is actually in the north of Spain.
Starting point is 00:17:12 Like, because they have all like the, bass country. Yeah. Yeah. Like they have, I don't eat octopus as much anymore. But when I did, it was like the pool pool. Yeah. Yes. Oh my gosh.
Starting point is 00:17:21 So I went to Kourunia. I went to, what is that? You guys eat octopus? Girl, one thing I'm about me, I'll fuck up that seafood. I will eat whatever. If it comes from the ocean, except oysters. Raw oysters, I don't fuck with that because you can get like, you can die. You can die.
Starting point is 00:17:36 I'm like, I'm not risking my life over some oysters. Can I tell you fun fact that back in the day, you should eat oysters now because it is a privilege back in the day. You could get polio from it. And when, when, when. Now you can just get vibrio. Yeah. Now you just get Vibrio, but Sabin and Falk, in I don't know what year, the 1960s, they created the polio vaccine, and now we can eat raw oysters.
Starting point is 00:17:57 So you should take that. You should really, really consume. Me like injecting myself right before the eating the oysters. No, I love seafood. It doesn't matter what it was all you did. To me, I feel like the octopus is there's like, it's like squeaky. No, it's not. If you cook it because so, okay.
Starting point is 00:18:11 The texture is the best part for me. But it's not. It's actually very tender. You just have to. So octopus not cooked well is very rubbery. But if you I don't know how I don't want to say it
Starting point is 00:18:22 without sounding like barbaric Massage You know you massage it with like buttermilk You take time with it You cook it for a long time I would love a buttermilk massage That sounds so good You want to be my little octop
Starting point is 00:18:35 Will you give me a buttermilk? Would you eat squid? Kalamari I was like that about girl They taste the exact same way No no no You never eat calomari No
Starting point is 00:18:42 You've never even calomari I don't like fried fish We've gone over this That's not fish That's not fish That's not fish Squid. Squid is not a fish.
Starting point is 00:18:50 What? Hold, look it up, look it up. Be like, it's a squid of fish. I don't think it's a fish. I mean, I get what you're saying. Oh, you know. Luke. I get what you're saying.
Starting point is 00:18:59 Yeah, it's not a fish, but I understand. Fried fish is so good, though. Is octopus a fry a fish? Oh, my God. They're like invertebrates. They're mollusks. They're not bonny creatures. I've never heard of that.
Starting point is 00:19:11 They're soft-bodied. Yeah, I think you're right. You know. Me? Like muscles and clams, yeah. But I think that. I don't know how to. Celebrate.
Starting point is 00:19:18 That was so funny right there. I don't know how to connect with others. Yeah, they're not fish. Yeah, they are. What is it? Boiling Crab. Yeah. I have a bad habit of any time I come to L.A.,
Starting point is 00:19:29 I will eat boiling crab right before a flight. Which one do you? That is crazy. Bring it on to the flight. I used to go to the one in Fullerton because I used to live in Orange County. But now I go, I don't know. I just order it to my apartment. Like, why would order it to my apartment?
Starting point is 00:19:41 Why is it? They do delivery. To order boiling crab to your apartment because you have like a crabboil. And they would come in those big ass bags. And my driver would. be like, there you go. And I'm like, shh.
Starting point is 00:19:51 Yeah. I love boiling crap. But the thing is, I always eat it right before flight, so I'm always in the seat. Yeah, you've like stained orange fingers. Yes, and like on my nails, but it's so good.
Starting point is 00:20:00 I can't help it. Wait, have you guys heard about the agitators? What's this? Do you know what I'm talking about, Luke? You look like you would know. What?
Starting point is 00:20:11 Now I want to know what it is. That should be like your lucha door name. Okay. The agitators. Do you know about the agitators? No. They were at the farmer's market. So I didn't know what they were, but Dave, explain them to me.
Starting point is 00:20:22 They go around in public places where they know it's legal. It is legal to film because it's a public space. And they film you, your children, anything. And they're literally agitators. They want you to be like, hey, stop filming me. They don't stop because they know that they have the laws on their side. And their goal is to get you to like, be like, fuck you and to hit them and to take their camera.
Starting point is 00:20:45 And then they call, they call the cops and they get you. you arrested. And they make a viral video? Exactly. Yeah. So if you ever see them, like do not engage. Wait, what do they look like? They're wearing masks.
Starting point is 00:20:56 They're just always wearing like their faces are covered. That's the thing here. They were at the farmers markets in L.A. Yeah. And my local sprouts. That shit wouldn't work in the hood though. You know what I mean? It's purely like a.
Starting point is 00:21:08 That's funny. You know? I feel like this would work in maybe your neighborhood. What the fuck, bitch? It's true. It's like, you know, guys don't engage. Well, I saw them. I was, I wanted to be like, so fast.
Starting point is 00:21:19 You saw one in real life. Yeah, and I wanted to be like, I'm pretty sure. That's a very, I don't know. Are they in other states or just California? I don't know. That would not work in Virginia. They'll pull out a gun on you. I'm not even kidding.
Starting point is 00:21:29 Virginia's like, they love abortions and guns, like, very marvelous. I'm pretty sure what happened to my girlfriend. She was going into the post office and there was like 10 guys standing out front filming, filming her. Wait, can you come on Mike real quick? They took a picture of her, of her VIN. Wait, and Ellie too, though. Yeah, you met them, Ellie? Yeah, they film your, they film your license plate.
Starting point is 00:21:47 Yeah. They stand out of churches. and they filmed the license plate. I was at the post office and they were like surrounding my car. They were like posted right in the front and they took a picture of my bin number. And they were like crowding me and I was like, hello, like what's good? I thought they were police. They were like, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:22:02 Like what is good? Do you hang out here? Like, is this really cool kids hang out? Did they just have it like in your face? A group of men on one girl is sick. That is scary. That's so. And there was like no one at the post office.
Starting point is 00:22:13 It was like me and a few like older women and they were like really scared. Did you just get you left? You didn't get to? I left. But see, I would be afraid to then get in my car. Why? Why? He could not just follow me, but like push me off, lock the doors, drive off with me.
Starting point is 00:22:27 Totally. Yeah. It is really, that's really scary. Wait, did they go inside the post office? Yeah. They were like filming everything. They know exactly where they're allowed to film. Like, they're planning this perfectly to.
Starting point is 00:22:39 Ellie, what happened to you? I have a loser. I've never heard of this. I saw some at the farmer's market. And I saw they're all at the first. They're all at the first. A lady who is selling. salsas. Yeah. Me and this other lady went up to try to, like, defend her. And then they started, like,
Starting point is 00:22:53 rage baiting me. Yeah. How would they rage bait you? We're just trying to film. We're trying to, like, give her stand some publicity. Like, you're trying to get in the way of that. And then later, I walked by another area. And there had been a man who had just been pepper sprayed, survived by police. And these men essentially agitated a man so much who was filming a woman and her daughter. that they pepper sprayed the man and in turn also pepper sprayed the woman and her daughter. But they just know the loss so much. Exactly. Like they want you to hit them and fight them so that the police have to arrest you and
Starting point is 00:23:31 like pepper spray you. So it's like you have to be aware of it so you do not fall for it. Alone in the post office is extremely terrifying to me. That's like I don't have backup of like the public. Yeah. Yeah. I agree. I'm not to walk into my car.
Starting point is 00:23:43 That's like you're going to rape and kill me. Yeah. Like thanks. Yeah. That's thanks. Like, thanks. It must be so embarrassing to, like, be trying to do these videos and you can't really get it off the ground
Starting point is 00:23:53 and you're like asking your friends like, yo, could you repost my agitation video? I'm like not getting enough views. I'm like stuck in 500 view, Jill. What am I going to do? I feel like you have to just start following them around for the rest of the day. Yeah, I wonder how you get back at them
Starting point is 00:24:07 because my first thought was to go out and be like, I literally want to be filmed. So, hey, let's do this. I came to LA just like it. This is my Instagram. It's my YouTube. Honestly, I think that would be. bump up your your status as a comic if you were in the agitator video yeah i didn't get in there
Starting point is 00:24:23 girl wait like i should actually like get agitated yeah okay but like kind of plan your agitation already like know what you're going to say yeah so that it's kind of just an act and not really you just have the most calm reaction like hi hi daddy you got to be like the hawk to a agitation videos and it's of course dave was the one that was like don't engage with him he i'm like what is it what's going on. He explained it to me because it's like creepy that he knows, knew what they are, that they're on his algorithm. That's my husband. Did you break out and dance? No, but of course he had like a weird pro agitator take, which I should let him say himself. He said that it's a creative way to show that like freedom of like being able to film is bad.
Starting point is 00:25:08 Like you, they shouldn't be able to just film you and your children in public, but like they're showing off that they can. But that's not one of their goals, right? That's not one of their, they're not, their overarching message isn't that here, you see what we're- No, you're right. Yeah, that's not the point they're trying to teach you a lot. They're using it as cover. It's like the ones who are like, I should be able to say I'm a Nazi because that's free speech in America, right? Don't you like free speech, you know?
Starting point is 00:25:30 It's like, but really they just want to be Nazis. Yeah. A funky world. I'm moving off grid, guys. I'll see you there. Let's talk about my favorite thing in the world. It's called sleep. I have improved.

Well, okay, so I actually feel really fearful in other countries. I know, sorry, I'm white, but I'm afraid of stuff. Wait, did you have a whole Euro tour like a couple years ago? I went to Italy with this group of hawk girls
Starting point is 00:29:39 And I like, we were at this really nice restaurant and there was like some of my jams were playing, you know, crooner jams. What? What is that? What is that? I like what you say, you know, like, cruner. No, I don't know. What are you talking about? Which crooner?
Starting point is 00:29:53 Like some Sinatra. Sinatra. Some Dean Martin. I just like. I wanted, okay. I wanted to dance. And, you know, that's the club. And I was, I'm just going to say I was really skinny.
Starting point is 00:30:06 Okay. I was really feeling myself. Yes. I was in my mumu felt. Valley flats. I was baggy jeans draping off my hips. And who she went with too, like very fancy like girls. Fancy.
Starting point is 00:30:16 The fanciest fashion girls. All over 5'10. And so I just start dancing, whatever. Like I'm having so much fun. All of a sudden a man, like the manager of the restaurant comes up. Enough! Out! And we all got kicked out and it was, I was like shaking.
Starting point is 00:30:33 Why you were eating? It's like a footloose bar? There's no dancing. What is this? To be fair, I don't think, you know, He was like, we're playing Sinatra. This isn't the place to do that specific dance. Yeah, it just was the kind of thing where like in America, people would be like, ha ha ha ha. You were playing this music. No.
Starting point is 00:30:50 And I was like, no wonder he kicked you out, girl, you're playing it on your phone. Also, for context, Tony, she's never been inside a club. So I think she thinks that's a club. I don't go to bars. I don't think it's a club. I thought it was like a dance, a ballet studio. Hold up, back up, back up, back. But in America, that's the kind of thing where they'd be like, ha, ha, ha,
Starting point is 00:31:07 Look at her and in Italy it's like get the fuck out you trash like it was so scary It sounds like it was a very formal dinner setting it was a formal dinner setting that's correct It and what were you wearing because if I know you at all jeans Ballet Flats baggy jeans draping off her hip yeah thank you yoke the mu mu mu maybe and then you heard Frank Sinatra and you were like I'm just gonna I thought of my dance recitals and I just let everything take over sorry was there like a space to dance or you like Bumping in between tables. A small space. Was this before you guys sat down?
Starting point is 00:31:40 Yeah. They were like no reservation. They were like none at all. I wouldn't talk that way to a little girl like you. I'd be like let her free. Yeah. Enough. She's at working to the Senatra.
Starting point is 00:31:50 You know, to be fair, Esther, you'd be a hit in the Philippines. I know you're never going to travel over there. A hit. A hit. A hit. Oh, you'd also get hit. You'd also get hit. You'd also get hit.
Starting point is 00:32:05 You're like, you're going to get your ad. beat in the Philippines like you would be so safe there because if you're to break out in dance to anything even the sound or the song in your own head they'd fully accept you that's where I belong yeah that's your backup countries yeah a lot of fancy formal dinner in Italy but I was going to say like you know speaking of feeling unsafe in in countries like I've been I used to date a soccer star in Spain a football star so I was in the north of Spain a lot but when I was in Barcelona and Madrid I've been robbed there twice
Starting point is 00:32:38 like not just like my money or whatever my clothes like one time one time at the hostel like out of the laundry like my bikini and then another time they took it's not really getting robbed no you're closed her clothes is gone
Starting point is 00:32:53 my panty robbed is like yeah I'm being mugged yeah but I did get all of that too like we were at some like just it was in Madrid it was like oh it was so freaking fun And then I look back and I didn't have anything.
Starting point is 00:33:07 No key, that's your fault, though. If there's a communal laundry space and it's like, I see something cute. What? Really? Are you kidding? Hold up. Is that robbery? Yes.
Starting point is 00:33:19 She got her thongs stolen. I know. I had just bought extra fancy ones because Spain. You know, you always buy your fancy underwear before travel. Do you not? Don't make me say. Don't make me say it. You're stealing stuff out of the laundry room?
Starting point is 00:33:33 Like in an apartment building? Look, guys, I'm 30 years old and I have my own laundry now. Okay. No, I don't buy new underwear for a lot of a trip. Side A, side B, side C, don't remember, don't forget. Where's C come from? When you need it, you'll find it. I don't know if it's just Spain or if it's a lot of European countries or I don't know.
Starting point is 00:33:54 Like, shout out to America. But my God, like, I could never have anyone offer to buy me drinks, like ever at a club or a bar. Like, a man would never approach me and be like, let me buy you a drink. Over here it's like you know I like it would take two and a half seconds of me sitting at the bar for someone to be like let me get you something You can go fuck yourself that is you can in the US but like over there it'd be like one and a half hours and I'm like and this is when I was really broke and I was traveling over there I'm sorry like but no gentleman at all they're all bisexual though that's fun in Spain I never have to like worry about like gay clubs or anything because literally everybody's bisexual Yeah that's so funny because my grandma was in Spain and we go out a lot and me my brother would always be like everybody he's gay out here, huh? But we thought we were just being
Starting point is 00:34:36 homophobic American-centric. What is that? Isn't that like the legally blonde song like gay or European? Both. Both. Yeah. Everyone's both. Do you still, I mean, ask someone from the Philippines, I still have like, I don't have beef with Spain
Starting point is 00:34:52 in general, but there is a part of me that still feels very like, oh, you motherfuckers colonized us for 300 years, huh? I used to have like this whole thing on my TikTok where I would like, not beef with Spaniards, but like I would just make fun of their accent. They would get so mad, but it was so good for engagement. So I was literally just like make like a weekly video, just making fun of their accent.
Starting point is 00:35:11 They would get so mad. And Loki, I thought the first time I was going to Spain, I was like, I'm getting jumped. Like I'm getting because they would go viral in Spain. And they would like hate on me in the comments. But I went there and like so many Spaniards were like, we love your videos. Me? Really? Like, are you sure?
Starting point is 00:35:24 But yeah, I went to, what is it? Like the Museum of the Americas in Madrid. The way they talk about Latinos and Filipinos and specifically like at, uh, at Equatorianians, like the African Hispanics, it is insane. What do they say? Literally, like, word for word, they'll be like, we, like, civilized them. Like, specifically in Madrid. Like, that, like, I don't know why that, like, museum had, like, other, like, countries,
Starting point is 00:35:47 but they talked about, like, the Philippines and Ecuador Guinea. Like, the way they talk is, like, we civilized them. And the pictures they have. And I asked, like, one of the, like, the tour guys. And I was like, is this, like, an indigenous picture? He's like, no, no, that's, like, a depiction. A depiction. A depiction is crazy because it, like, they literally just.
Starting point is 00:36:03 like square heads and like literally like devil horns and I was like oh okay thank you so much sir thank you thank you for the list being of controversial topics being good for engagement I'm going to regret bringing this up but I used to make these TikToks where I talk about like what foods are for hot people and what foods are for ugly people I said that beans were for ugly people oh my gosh that was you oh my god I thought you might remember it. Did you stitch her? I did it.
Starting point is 00:36:37 I remember it was like. It was so big. Everyone, every Latino on TikTok was stitching me. Fair though. Fair though. I'm like, whoa,
Starting point is 00:36:45 that's like the one thing. They're like, sister. Did I even say anything? I remember I just be like, I think I just chewed out my gum and I was like, there were so many I don't remember. But I was just like,
Starting point is 00:36:55 I just woke up was like, what's happening? Like, it was crazy. But it was a high mode. It was a high animal. It was a high end of life. It was a huge PR push right now.
Starting point is 00:37:03 though have you seen it work you have all the fiber yes I heard you see the dance salad all the time I love beans but I just it was trying to be funny okay yeah that was me no I think I literally I like stitched it I didn't even have to I don't even think I put a caption I like I literally just this and I was like and all the Latinos did it for me I was like yeah beans is a risky one out there I didn't think of it's for ugly people casidias I did you try rice next time and see what you you get sure that's like the entire world like in your DMs like threatening you I remember they make you gassy what do you yeah I don't think you thought about it in like anything other than
Starting point is 00:37:44 it just makes you it made specifically gassy do you don't you think I have a case the magical fruit fruit yeah that beans beans the magical fruit the more you eat the more you to the more you toot the more you toot the better you feel that's like a thing that's why you have to say I've never they're trying to be funny it's not no like I do love beans though because like Like one thing about me, like, if I'm ever bloated one trip to Chipotle, I know in the morning I'm going to look skinny as fuck. I've never heard anyone say that. I will shit it all out. I will shit it all out.
Starting point is 00:38:13 I just know, specifically chippole beans. Black or pinto? Neither. I think red kidney beans. That's what we eat. Pinto. Is that pinto? Is that pinto?
Starting point is 00:38:20 Is that pinot? Oh, I eat black. No, I don't do the other ones. I don't like it. But like at home, we eat like red kidney beans. Yeah, yeah. Every morning. That's why I was like, hey.
Starting point is 00:38:30 I eat this every morning. Honestly, this is crazy to say as a white person. but the the brown beans at Chipotle are Loki spicy have you had wait oh my god that's so crazy they are like kind of spicy right now what the fuck yeah
Starting point is 00:38:46 my right eyes giving out they kind of are spicy she's like they really are spicy I'm glad you said it I got you here there is such a variation between locations yeah yeah okay because sometimes the chicken is too spicy for me and sometimes it's fine wow
Starting point is 00:39:03 Wow. Like just like the normal like grilled chicken. The normal chicken. What are you getting there? Oh girl. I'm a kind of a monster when it comes to Chipotle. Like I will get double steak, double chicken, like extra fajitas, extra beans because I know why I'm going at Chipotle. Like I'm there to clean out my stomach. And no rice too. No rice. No rice. I don't really like rice. That's my moment. I'm like I don't really like rice. I'll eat it. But like I don't really eat rice like that. I'll get it like on a side like in a little cup and I'll like sprinkle some over like it's.
Starting point is 00:39:33 like um salt a garnish what are the um sesame seeds I'll like sprinkle it over I'm like a little a little what is it a little carbs you're twisted yeah but the thing is I hate doing that because if there's no rice there's nothing to catch the liquid and then the bottom like soaks up
Starting point is 00:39:49 oh true where are you getting a bowl don't tell me you get a burrito that's actually gonna irritate me I get tacos who the hell those the job bowl it gets tacos like in the little box I get this a lot yeah yeah I do get the tacos The three crunchy tacos, they're amazing.
Starting point is 00:40:05 Highly recommend. I didn't even know crunchy was an option. Most don't. They keep them under. They go under to get them. I think this is rage bait. It's not. The tacos are so good.
Starting point is 00:40:14 The crunchy tacos. But what do you even get on them? All the things you said? All the things you said. All the things you said. They fit in that. So it's interesting. It falls out.
Starting point is 00:40:23 A lot of it falls out. Sounds great. The tacos, highly recommend. You can't fit anything in it. It falls out. But what are you getting a bowl? Yeah. Why does a burrito irritate you?
Starting point is 00:40:34 Yeah. That is, like, to me, that's gluttonous. Like, that big ass, and it's literally the exact same thing in a bowl. But, like, I'm just like, it just looks huge. Like, a bowl, like, you can be like, Yeah. Like that one TikTok, it was like, you're greedy as fuck if you finish the whole Chipotle boat. Bitch, I'll get two of them.
Starting point is 00:40:51 I'm like, I don't give a fuck. It's true, though. The burritos, sometimes they'll be making a burrito that's so big that I'm like, look, I get that you guys have, like, pressure to, like, give large servings. I'll pay extra to not do this to me right out. Put extra extra is like Seriously have you ever seen them try to fold it they're like Yeah
Starting point is 00:41:06 Yeah And like they like look like they're putting like strength in it And I'm like sister calm down You made this you did this to yourself One time I said light rice because I was like I just don't want too much rice And I just saw her to do three scoops and she's like I'm sorry She's gonna take it off She's like I'm sorry
Starting point is 00:41:22 I'm trying to help you I'll pay the same price light on the rice She didn't do it I'm sorry I can't do it I'll never get over the tacos that you just mentioned But yeah, it's just that girl. We live in L.A. We're literally like every corner you turn, you can have like an incredible taco experience.
Starting point is 00:41:42 But think about all the spice variety that I'm entering into that I can't control. I was going to say, if she thinks red guinea beans at Chippoli are spicy, like she will die at the corner. Wait, have you ever seen when they do put too much in? And then they're like, they get out a backup tortilla. And they do two tortillas for the, you would have a hard time. That's what I'm saying. Like that's kind of crazy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:03 Yeah. But the thing is like I'm like a hypocrite because like I'll get the bowl and I'll get a tortilla on the side. So it's literally the exact same thing. And then what do you do? The tortilla you scoop it and then. Okay. Can I tell you something? You are the best candidate for the tacos because you should get your bowl and then get the tacos on the side and then make your own tacos with your bowl.
Starting point is 00:42:22 You said they're crunchy. Mike drop. You could get talked. Because sometimes when I'm feeling it extra greedy, I'll get a tortilla and a bag of chips. Like I never give a fuck. And I'll scoop up the chaboli with that. But I'll never get a burrito. I'm sorry, I can't.
Starting point is 00:42:32 Like, that's doing too much. Bowl and chips is great. This is a Chipotle ad. Like, this is, like, completely a Chipotle ad. The burritos on the corner are the best, though, where they do, like, the cheese. They put the cheese. They put the, uh, those are the best burritos by far with the Alpasteur. But you never have, like, street tacos.
Starting point is 00:42:47 You never get, like, a mulita with, like, swadero or, like, the... I have no idea what she just said. Like, I've never heard of me. Or, like, the Langua. Like, the tongue. You know? She's like, ew. I feel like he would really like the most of the mule.
Starting point is 00:43:01 mulita because it really is like it's like two tortillas and it's just smashed and you get the cheese yeah the choice of the inside but it's not a cassidia it's not a cassidia it's it's just not it's just not why not it's it's a tortilla with cheese in the middle but it's not a kansas but i feel like once you experience a mulita you're like oh i'd be like that's not a kessida yeah is it because it's like the cheese is fried on the outside no it's just because they said some i have no idea i have no idea we have some phrases here some latino lingo that we're hoping we can do some translations for the whites. The whites.
Starting point is 00:43:34 Wait, what are the rules of this game? We're going to switch off between Esther and Luke, our resident whites, for today. And Esther can start by trying to pronounce a word. And I'm not a part of this game. Well, I think you will help as our honorable. You're Filipino. That's like cheating. I know.
Starting point is 00:43:47 Like pronouncing the Spanish words. Well, we have a lot of like Spanish words in our language. Yeah. Don't you say per like to? Per like, yeah. Even all are like kitchen utensils, dates, numbers. Everything's Spanish. First up for Esther?
Starting point is 00:44:01 pronounce and define she's like what are those two dots that's German yeah the umlaude I agree I agree I we I we I feel like Luke has an advantage
Starting point is 00:44:19 being from California I should have an advantage Oh yes Luke That's better You never heard of that Esther What is it? It's I-Way Way
Starting point is 00:44:28 I-W-W-E-W-E Yeah like W-A-Y What does it mean? Can you guess? I weigh? I weigh a 15 pound. No, I weigh. I weigh.
Starting point is 00:44:41 Well, do you know what it means? If I had a guess, I would think it's like, oh my God. I, Gwe. Yeah, basically. Yeah, yeah. It's an LA boy. Wait. No, way.
Starting point is 00:44:50 It's way. Like with the W. I'm looking right at it. So maybe you guys got to do some research there. Well, I know Chees-May. She does too. So? And Chisema is, I feel like, uh, English word at this point.
Starting point is 00:45:06 Fuck off. Yeah. I don't think so. You guys say in the Philippines, we say chishmosa. Chismosa, yeah, yeah, yeah. That one thing, what was it? That one statistic that it was like, there's no serial killers in the Philippines because it's so nosy. Wait, I talk about this on the pod a lot.
Starting point is 00:45:20 So did you know this? Look, we don't have like serial killers in the Philippines because everyone is so goddamn nosy and gossipy. And now it's like I, I've now turned my whole thing. I'm like gossip is good. If you gossip enough, you will not have any serial killers in your neighborhood. I thought it was bad. Yeah, no, Cheesma is good. I mean, but how does the gossip keep away at serial killers?
Starting point is 00:45:38 They're like, oh my God, did you hear Jessica's brother, like, killed three girls? It's like, hey, did you see him behave that way outside at 3 a.m? And then they tell the next neighbor, and everyone's sort of alerting each other always. And the place like, so is Chismay, like, tell me. Chezmy is gossip. Gossip. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:45:53 I knew. I said it first. Oh, Luke. You're up. Mahe? Mahe? Oh, yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:58 And I knew that. Mahe, yeah. I have no idea what this means. Mahe. It's a very central American word. Mahe-Mahe. Sort of. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:46:11 Mahe. Is it a hot guy? Ooh, I like that. Good answer. Good answer. Good answer. I like that. I like that.
Starting point is 00:46:19 Tony, do you want to explain this one? Yeah, basically, Mahe is like, it's kind of like bro. Like the same way that like Mexicans say way, Hondurans, Salvadorans, like some Guatemalan, Costa Rica. Well, Costa Rica is actually say ma'et. They take out the J for some reason. But it means like bro like that. But it can also be like, no, say as maje is like, don't be stupid.
Starting point is 00:46:37 Like it can also be like idiot. It really like depends. Yeah. Hot guy. It means dude. Yeah, yeah. Stupid idiot, hot guy. Good answer.
Starting point is 00:46:46 Good answer. This is a good one. Pendejo? There's no way you don't know this one. Really? Wait, really? In L.A.? Pendejo.
Starting point is 00:46:54 I like the way she says it though. Okay. Well, pan is bread and this is not pan. It's pen. No. Okay Bread is bun Not bed
Starting point is 00:47:03 True Pendejo Is it like a type of store I guess it could be You want to take a guess It's like Assol or something right It's like I know it's like it means stupid
Starting point is 00:47:19 It's stupid It does Like Ben Dejo's like someone who's stupid Did you say asshole? Yeah Yeah I've heard that People always say that to me I thought it meant friends, so I'm a little disappointed now.
Starting point is 00:47:31 I thought I had so many friends on the street, but I guess not. Next up. I don't know this one. Pihero? Pihado? I don't know. What does it mean? Do you know?
Starting point is 00:47:41 I don't know this one. No, I know the root word of it. The root word is piha, which is like a very, like, universal, like, curse word, like, in Honduras, against Saba. Pihha means, like, it literally means everything. It means, like, fucking, like, pihazo means, like, you, like, get hit. Like, And da pija means, like, I'm drunk. Stoyat Pia means like I'm tired.
Starting point is 00:47:58 Like it really is like universal. I'm looking at it. My initial reaction is pedophile. Just seems like that's what it is. Oh yeah. There's a Pihado at the park today. I was thinking like Pina Colada. Okay.
Starting point is 00:48:09 Yeah. I'm like, hold on. I'm supposed to be the expert. Hold on like Pia. I just noticed your Mayhem Ball shirt. Oh, really? No, I saw her here in L.A. Yeah, I love her.
Starting point is 00:48:18 We've stumped everybody, Kalila. I don't know this one. I think you were kind of close. Oh, yeah. I said like, And da Piaa means like I'm drunk. Or like, yeah, I'm high. Pialoa. I don't think I heard of that, though.
Starting point is 00:48:28 Boracho. We also say Bolo. Bolo means like you're drunk, but Stoya Pia Pia means like you're like shit-based drunk. Like Bolo means like you're like drunk, but like Pia, like, I know Bolo in Portuguese is cake, right? Or cupcake. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. What's up? No big deal.
Starting point is 00:48:44 You know Bolo is in the Philippines? It's a really beautiful knife. Knife? Yeah. It's like what farmers use. It's actually kind of quite dull, but it's so useful. Oh, I thought you meant like if you see a really beautiful knife. That's a ballo right there.
Starting point is 00:48:59 No, no, it's like a very specific kind of knife that's like used in like everyday life. I know the bottom word here too. Meriwana. Who is that again? Merriana. All right. Last, a classic. Okay, that means everyone knows that one.
Starting point is 00:49:14 I'm not going to fall for that. Luke, do you want to give it a world? Everyone's memorized that from fifth grade. Okay. Can you say it, Esther? Why? Come on. Let's let's just, it's chinga to Madre.
Starting point is 00:49:25 Yay. He did it. Did she get forgiven about the whole bean stitch now that she's done? Yes. Thank you. Because she no chinga tu madre. We don't use. Well, like Central Americans don't use that, but like I love saying.
Starting point is 00:49:40 I'm sorry. Like it's hilarious. Like it's really rude, but. Why is it hilarious? Isn't just like fuck your mom? You say it in like a very unserious where it's like, I know chinga tu madre. Like you really just say it in like an unserious word. Like Mexicans wouldn't really.
Starting point is 00:49:52 Sometimes they could be serious and like no ching got to mother. Like they're like saying like fuck you and like fuck your mom. But sometimes it's like, leave me alone. Everything's so sweet. Even like chingatumada's like, you know, there's always like a softer connotation. It's always like a context. Yeah, context is everything.
Starting point is 00:50:08 What are the English words like that? Like you're a motherfucker. We say motherfucker in like a very like, I hope this is. Or like bitch. Yeah, bitch. Yeah. Like bitch. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:18 Bitch. Beach. Honorable mentions. Beside of that one. I like the no mammas one. That would have been a good one. No mammas. What's no mammas?
Starting point is 00:50:25 No mammas. You know chingatumato. Madre but not no mamis? No mamis is like, to me, it's like more common. You know what no mamas mean? I've heard people say no mamma's sway. Is that a form? No mamas way, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:35 I don't know what it is. No mamas is, I don't know how to translate it, but like, I would be like, like, how do you say that? Like, girl, I'll be serious. It's like, basically, like, be serious, like, actually. But good call on the no mama's way, because you hear that a lot. Yeah, I got my ear to the streets. And then I don't know if you've ever heard like fuck in like Spanish is like cohere. but pisades how like hondurans describe it and it's literally like the official term of what pisades is like to step on but it's like what they refer to like when chickens fuck so like when a chick because i i don't know i'm pretty sure chickens like get on top of each other or something like that to do like the nasty so like that's how hondurans describe like they do amount they're called pisando i have to ask my my classic white girl question of every latin person that i meet what is your opinion of ground beef tacos
Starting point is 00:51:27 ground beef tacos what? You know how like white family Like Taco Bell? Yeah Yes No I personally wouldn't eat it Why?
Starting point is 00:51:37 All power to you I don't personally like ground beef I just don't like ground beef I don't like meatballs I don't like ground beef Like at all I love ground beef I like a good old steak
Starting point is 00:51:46 Get it up there kid I don't like ground beef tacos I can't It just doesn't have like enough flavor But it has all you could add all the seasoning That you add I just always think Ground beef is dry.
Starting point is 00:51:58 Well, you know, like, what could change your mind? Because I eat a lot of ground beef when I was, like, really anemic is the Wagyu ground beef. It's so opposite of dry. The Wagyu. It's so. That's like cheating, though. Fatty. It's a really good meat.
Starting point is 00:52:11 But I'm very anti-ground beef, like, taco as well. Why? It's so good to me. That's like the, what is the better taco? Steak. Pork. Chicken. You ever have, like, Alpaste.
Starting point is 00:52:22 Salmon. I'm like, octopus. Like, when you go to, like, a real taco spot, like, what is? your order. Not Chipotle and not Taco Bell. It's hard for me. They don't do ground beef. I'll do chicken, but I prefer ground beef. I think it's
Starting point is 00:52:37 amazing. I feel like Alpastor is hard to be. Do you ever get Alpastor? What is it? With a big spitting wheel. With a little pineapple? It's the pork with pineapple. Pina. I don't like, there's like, you know that one quote from Alabama Elementary is like fruit shouldn't be hot? It's like, yeah. Agree. I can't.
Starting point is 00:52:53 Yeah. Fruit and meat is a no-go for you. Absolutely not. What the hell? Like, when People put, like, the fruit in the salads. I'm like, don't piss me off. That's so good. Like, that really, like, you also don't like, not like fruit and dessert. Okay, I've gotten in trouble for this. I hate, okay, controversial, I hate Latino desserts.
Starting point is 00:53:09 I hate every single one. They're all disgusting. I think, sorry, white people do dessert the best. I'm sorry. One thing about a white woman, she will bake. She will bake. Bread, velvet cake. Hello.
Starting point is 00:53:19 Buttercream frosting. I hate flan. I hate Tresaleches. Really? I hate, I hate, like. Okay, but you don't hate. Churros. They're disgusting. I don't like churros. No, I don't. What about those little, uh, sometimes I'll get those like chomoi candies. You ever have that? I love chumoy. Well, those, that's not, to me, that's not like a sweet. But I like, you know, but I like those. I tried it for like the first time, like, because I think like they sent me like a candy or something. It was a little suspicious. I'm like why. But they sent to me and I was like, sure, it's peach rings. And they were really good. Yeah, yeah. But I didn't grow up eating that. That's like very like Mexican. So I tried your theory on the vanilla ice cream thing the other day. And, um, I. Oh, what's his theory? Okay. So. So. So. So. So. So. So. So. So. Okay. So. So. So. So. So. So. So. explain this because there was a whole
Starting point is 00:53:58 I just think that people get too carried away with making their desserts too creative and too weird and like if you just try vanilla ice cream it's amazing I only get vanilla only vanilla oh my like kiss you I hate mint chocolate chip I hate chocolate I hate strawberry the only other one that I'll try is like what's the
Starting point is 00:54:17 orange dreams because it has vanilla sherber? Yes what oh my god sherber? Sherber is so good I love Sherber there's no reason to hate on Sherber right now I don't care if it's yellow. I don't care if it's orange. It's so good. Like, I love citrus. Like, I love it. This is blowing my mind. So I was like, okay, let's give this theory a chance.
Starting point is 00:54:34 My son got sick. So I was like, you know what? Let's give him ice cream for the first time. So I was like, let's start with vanilla. Bought vanilla ice cream. And I was like, I hated it. How is that possible? I don't know, but I hated it. It's delicious. I don't hate it, but there's better
Starting point is 00:54:50 flavors than vanilla. I don't know. Strawberry. Ew. Ew. Ew. Ew, strawberry ice cream. You know how they would have
Starting point is 00:54:58 Neopolitan? I would only eat the vanilla. Yes, me too. And I would leave the rest for everyone else. Well, that also is a very controversial thing because Neapolitan to me is also a no-go. Yeah, yeah. I'm like strawberry next to chocolate
Starting point is 00:55:08 is not my thing. I don't like chocolate-covered strawberries. I don't either. Chocolate-covered bananas. I like that. I hate that. What? So you didn't like the vanilla ice cream?
Starting point is 00:55:18 I didn't. And I got three different kinds. I got the Strauss one. Why? Why get three-d-gat? Because I was like, let's go. She wanted to test it out. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:25 I really wanted to, like, give your thing a chance. And you didn't like any of that? None. I took one scoop out of the egg of the shit. Did you try, like, vanilla bean versus, like, vanilla? Yes, vanilla beans. I've got two vanilla beans. But then.
Starting point is 00:55:34 They all taste something like me. I'm not going to laugh. But then if I were to go to, like, Ikea or a Costco and just get the single scoop, I like that. What do you? And it's just, is that vanilla, right? Oh, yeah. But it's almost like. IKEA.
Starting point is 00:55:48 I was going to say, I didn't know they had ice cream. I think they had soft. They had a softener. They had a softener. They had a softener. Do you like softser. Soft serve's really good. Yeah. Hell yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:55 Soft serve's next level. Do you do the dip cone, right? I don't do all that. But I do like soft serve ice cream, yeah. But to me, not liking vanilla's like, you know, the people are like, I hate the taste of water. Girl. Yeah, okay. I can see that.
Starting point is 00:56:08 My ex is like that. He only drinks, like, flavored stuff, and it drives me nuts. And I'm like, there's nothing that tastes more delicious on this entire universe than water. Than water, yeah. I love water. Me too. I'm like the kind of bitch where, like, there could be 10 different brands. And, like, I'm black for it.
Starting point is 00:56:22 I will tell you. Which one's boss? Which one's core? This is my favorite water. Which one's Dasani, because DeSni is disgusting. The worst. Which one's like Deer Park. Are you having a crisis over this new Oasis app that tells you like your water is full
Starting point is 00:56:32 of arsenic? Your favorite waters are full of arsenic. I don't even know. I don't even know what that is. I don't want to know. I don't even want to know. Because I was trying to stay away from plastic water bottles. So then I was going glass and I was going like Mountain Valley Spring, the green glass
Starting point is 00:56:44 bottles. Fairly high in arsenic. Yeah. It's like, oh yeah. It's filled with poison. It's like, what the fuck do I drink? I'm a living bliss. My favorite glass water is boss
Starting point is 00:56:52 I've each had boss is so good But it's so expensive It's just the weight of the bottle Everything about the experience with Voss is nice Yeah I don't play about water The Gatorade water is really good too There's Gatorade water? I've tried every water brand
Starting point is 00:57:06 Like known to me I've bought like $60 water online Just because I wanted to try it Wait what about your Loonin? Yeah S3 you got one here Glass bottle This is my Does that have arsenic
Starting point is 00:57:15 Wait what's the whole new Okay so the Oasis this app basically I don't know how legit it is it could be just like someone really just raking in the dollars by like making water controversial but basically like all the waters like the essential everything is just like high in these things that it shouldn't be high in so now the only ones that I get are the Icelandic waters aquaponna and fucking I don't know luan I have not so what's the deal with Luna third party tested by who's a third party tester I don't know where do I get this water though they have it at sprouts
Starting point is 00:57:49 They have a vet air one. I love sprouts. I know. We too. That was one of the main reasons I wanted to come back to LA. I only bought, like, I'm sorry. There's no sprouts. I think there's some on the East Coast, but, like, I used to live, like, right down the street from one. And I would go there, like, almost every day. Sprofts is good.
Starting point is 00:58:02 Keep buying groceries. And what's the story behind Lunan? It tastes most similar to, like, when you have reverse osmosis water, but it's not reverse osmosis. It's from a spring. I just like that's third-party tested, because then, like, these fears that you have over all the contaminants. Yeah. there's like a QR code and then you can like look up the test results. Well, I got so psycho about water and it's so funny like the cycle you go through where I was like,
Starting point is 00:58:28 I'm not drinking out of a plastic thing. I'm not drinking out of my tap. So I bought a Brita like and I got the nicest Brita filter. And then one day I was just looking at my Brita filter sitting in the baking sun and I was like, this is a giant plastic water model that I fill up with tap water. I don't know how much cleaner it is. And one time I had a Brita for a while. I looked at it and I saw the filter wasn't clicked in.
Starting point is 00:58:49 the right way so i'm just filling up tap water putting it in a huge plastic jug and drinking it well i should just be drinking to sandy at this point who cares that's what's your 20s are for that one is just really water there's literally no way to just like drink regular water in an easy we used to buy like a kangen filter or some crazy shit i'm not sold on kangen either i have no idea how you drink regular water i think it's a install and under the sink filter isn't it a crazy if you were to like zoom out isn't it a crazy concept that water is not free. Like that is such a weird thing for me. At this point,
Starting point is 00:59:25 that we cannot live without is like not free. Bottled water was like invented kind of recently though. I think they invented bottle water in like the 70s. It used to not be that way. How there you go before. Fountain, you just go to like a water fountain on your tap. Like there was no like you never went to like buy water. Have you tried sink water from New York?
Starting point is 00:59:43 It's so good. Wait, what is it? It's so good. Sink water from New York. That's right here. Is it better than LA? I love sink water. I'm sorry, I do.
Starting point is 00:59:51 I don't care what. If I'm thirsty, I'm going to drink. Yeah, you can't, you're not supposed to drink. But sinkwater, Virginia's not good. Where? Out here. Yeah, yeah. You know, Anna, in a pinch I do.
Starting point is 00:59:59 No. I will too. But, like, New York's good. And Europe, you can drink at any faucet. Oh, my, European sink water. I should bottle up that shit in Sally. I'm not even kidding. Like, it is so good.
Starting point is 01:00:09 There's something about you calling it sink water. Does I know what it is sink water? It's tap water. It's what I mean. That's what I mean. That's what I mean. It does not water. But to your point,
Starting point is 01:00:20 Kala, it's kind of crazy that we don't have water we can drink out of our taps. Yeah, drinkable water. It's like kind of crazy, you know? I mean,
Starting point is 01:00:25 technically you can because tap water is like free here, but it's just such like a... You feel good about it. Is that like an actual thing like it's free here? I mean, you know, it's like you can drink out of your sink.
Starting point is 01:00:36 Oh, yeah, yeah. You know? Sink water. And it's like coming from the Philippines like growing up, we could never just like drink tap so that when I, when I first came to America,
Starting point is 01:00:44 I was so excited to be like, I could just stick it in here because we always had to boil our water or we actually always had to buy water. Would the water, like water trucks come and like fill up the. Yeah, yeah. Or in the neighborhood, you had this giant tank. We call it a tank. And it just kind of provides water. But that's also just for showing.
Starting point is 01:01:01 You still have to boil it. Yeah, yeah. It's kind of lazy. It's a tank. And you call it a tank. You guys couldn't. We're not that original. But that is that is dangerous.
Starting point is 01:01:08 Thank you. This has been so much fun. 20 years so fun. You have to come back. You have a podcast? I do kind of. Okay. Like, mysterious.

But I do want to start another one with. I don't know if you guys know Jesus, my friend.
Starting point is 01:01:31 But like we do like a lot of like collab content together and everyone always associates us. So like we're like, girl, we need to start a podcast. And everyone's always always like coming us. So we want to do that. That's always the best like combo too. Like if you guys are like friends friends and you guys already know like there is like a synergy. Or y'all friends before? Like us where we're just not friends.
