Starting point is 00:00:00 It's really interesting though, is that he does believe that we will create God, like most of these people, but he also has very interesting relationship with artificial intelligence, he says. He has an emotional relationship with chat GPT, which has become one of his top and possibly only advisors. Oh no. possibly only advisors. Oh no.
Starting point is 00:00:26 Oh no. Yeah. That's real. See, this is why you have to check in on your blocs. This is why we have to parachute Prince Harry into Japan, because if you don't check in on your blocs, they get mental health and then all of a sudden they fire everybody except for the computer, and they do the movie hurt themselves. He says, I'm chatting with Chad GPT. I'm a very heavy user. Which is so cool. So how it works, right, is he holds court with AI, it's from the FT.
Starting point is 00:01:03 So Ann says he holds court with AI every day, feeding it ideas, hoping and hoping to get its approval, adding that he'd come up with over 600 new inventions since October this way. Wait, wait, wait, hold on, hoping to get its approval. So like he pitches stuff to, and the thing is, that's not an advisor, that's a boss. that's that's a boss
Starting point is 00:01:28 He's now working for GPC who is the head of soft bank or more specifically He's that's like so that's very I had a similar idea But on a much lower scale and to do with a pen and paper role playing game that you may see come out on this podcast Some person yeah Yeah. Yeah, but yeah, at the, basically, he uses it to ideate, but because you're right, because he's looking for approval from Chad GPT, you have to remember what is, and I don't know what kind of plugins he used. Like he knows Sam Altman, like he might, he probably has access to lots of strange plugins that we don't know about. He already has the one that like, you know, lets us sacks with you and stuff. Sure. Whatever.
Starting point is 00:02:06 Yeah, he has the like special secret. Yeah, he has the secret rampant kind of chat GPT that like knows all of the slurs. Fine. But it's the one that's also ever talking dark. Yeah. But, but he, uh, what, what, what chat GPT is, you always have to come back to this is, it is a, a probabilistic, it is a probabilistic relationship of all of the words that have been written on the internet up to 2021 unless you have certain plugins which allowed to browse the web now.
Starting point is 00:02:35 So basically all the 600 ideas that he's come up with are racist. Or even like, I see people, like I'm a little bit of a connoisseur of blue tick posts now. And the way that people think about chat GBT is quite instructive. I this obviously, like, because I'm talking about this in terms of like something I saw as a post, it's very hyperbolic and specific,
Starting point is 00:02:56 but one guy was just one, you know, blue tick guy. I was like, I asked chat GBT how to solve this tight and submarine disaster, and it's proposed four simple steps, which is assess the situation, locate the submarine, and then raise them up from a safe depth. Why is no one trying this? Yeah, because it sounds plausible. It sounds sensible, like co-hears internally, but only in a way that makes sense to a machine.
Starting point is 00:03:22 That's a simple set of tasks to do. It's just that the tasks themselves are very difficult. And per Masayoshi-san, I asked ChatGPT to generate me 600 new inventions. And they're all stuff like this. It's either stuff that kind of has already been heavily researched, like mind-controlled prosthetic limbs, or it's something that sounds cool, but is not explored at all.
Starting point is 00:03:51 So for instance, it's first answer to me, and I was like, generate me a bunch of inventions. It was the quantum energy converter, a device that harnesses quantum phenomena to convert energy from one form to another with unprecedented efficiency. It's like, great, thanks. I'm going to ask it how it works and the answer is, it's going to make something up.
Starting point is 00:04:11 Okay. I also asked it for ideas. Number 20 is my favorite. Energy generating shoes that harness kinetic energy from walking. We're going to be talking about those in like a year's time. It's a thousand seconds. It's called Volt Shoe. Please expand on in invention 20.
Starting point is 00:04:25 So description, energy generating shoes are designed to convert the kinetic energy during walking or running into electrical energy that can be used to power devices or charge batteries. And then, they're gonna, like these are gonna fuck up so badly and every city is gonna become the like prison from andor. Yeah, it's like, okay,
Starting point is 00:04:42 the generated electrical energy can be stored in lightweight and efficient rechargeable batteries in the shoes. And it's like, oh, the generated electrical energy can be stored in lightweight and efficient rechargeable batteries in the shoes. It's like, oh, we have lightweight and efficient batteries. Great. I didn't know that that was just something that was cheap and easy to produce, or that we could implement, we could embed electric crystals. I mean, there's one here that's 3D food printers. And I asked it, like, what is a 3D food printer? And they're like, oh, it's a food printer capable of creating customized, nutritious meals. And like, what do you mean by that?
Starting point is 00:05:14 Well, it would case it to individual dietary needs and reduce food waste. I'm like, that's a replicator from Star Trek, but also you haven't said anything about how it worked because you can't. You don't like, that's not what this is for. So I think it's cool that one of our economy's sort of central planners is just using this for this now, you know? Well, see, he says, after we, he talks to the AI every day, that's already a bad sign in itself.
Starting point is 00:05:44 Oh, oh, oh, if you want to hear bad sign, check this out. After we repeated this several dozen times, I felt really great because my idea was praised by chat GPT session. Imagine, just imagine working on one of those teams, the phone rings, it's like five in the morning, and you're like, okay, we got to invent the replicator from Star Trek now. Yeah, it's like, it's your job is to sit by the phone and get a call at 4am from a guy who might as well just be, it might as well be a dream journal. Essentially.
Starting point is 00:06:31 And that's cool. That's a cool way of running the economy is a guy dreaming. But like, You know, you used to be the case that there was a guy that you used to be, like there was someone who used to be able to do this. Like you would have a buddy who would just be stoned
Starting point is 00:06:43 all the time and you would come up with like the ideas with him, right? Like the shoes that walk for you. But like the thing that strikes me is that like we always talked about this as sort of like, you know, future possible AI dystopias, right? One of which is you work completing sort of senseless, meaningless tasks for an AI that has sort of gone mad. And you do the sort of like paranoia thing, right? Where like, none of it makes any sense, but you're obliged to not keep getting food
Starting point is 00:07:09 palettes. That is real life now for like X number of people in Japan because of this one guy. Well, you know what this what son is? He is like this happens so quickly from that article we read about like by Henry Kissinger and those others about how AI will require a priest to it. because he is, like this happens so quickly from that article we read about, like by Henry Kissinger and those others, about how AI will require a priesthood. And as they all she saw is becoming a kind of priest king. Because he had mental health, because no one checked in on him.
Starting point is 00:07:38 He is gonna create computer God. And the computer God is like, we should have shoes that like electricie. Yeah. We should. So I like that. I like that it just said. I like that in the same list is smart home system that is just lighting and temperature based on occupant preferences that exists. Teleportation device for instant travel. Yeah sure. Artificial intelligence assistant that can understand and respond to human emotion. And the guy who is using this for everything has now announced he is going into attack mode. Yes, yes, this is basically going to be a positive about this set of developments. hope announcing a crusade, but like on the economy in general.
Starting point is 00:08:26 And the problem is, is that as people who live in the economy, we are in the Holy Land, and Massa, she saw, and is a crusader. Basically, that's so awesome. I'm so looking forward to, as you say, living in, alpha complex, which is like the occur of the future. Yeah, and let's sound and show up. Of course, we also, like any soft bank end of your presentation, it contained a slide
Starting point is 00:08:57 show. And that slide show was awesome. It was very cool. It says he presented slides, including evolution speed that depicted a graph of human evolution. From the birth of mankind to the agricultural revolution, the line is flat. Then it creeps up a little bit from the industrial revolution
Starting point is 00:09:17 to today. And then in two or three years, it goes completely vertical because AI has caused the birth of a superhuman. This is just a singularity again. You're just reheating all of your old shit. It's like, it's the, but now he's doing it with different, with a different company and a lot of the brand is. Now it's got like a chatbot. you
