You're this huge actor, Hercules, and then you were basically blacklisted for having the wrong opinions. Can't have that in Hollywood at all. I said, you guys are the one screaming for tolerance. You're the one screaming for freedom of speech. They're full of crap and they're all hypocrites.
Starting point is 00:01:16 And it's a one-way street with tolerance and freedom of speech. So I just said, you know, the heck with it. Don't you find it weird, Kevin, that in a Hollywood, it's more accepted to be a Scientologist than a Christian. Yeah. It's weird. Kevin Sorba, welcome to the show. It's awesome to have you on. Good a beer. Thanks for having me on. Yeah. Well, listen, we want to get straight into the kind of the way your career went
Starting point is 00:01:42 because you're this huge actor, Hercules. And then you were basically blacklisted for having the wrong opinions. Can't have that in Hollywood at all. It's interesting because, you know, Hercules, pardon the sin of pride, but by season three, we were the most watched show in the world in the 176 countries. And that same year we spun out of Zina. And in the fifth year we spun up a young Hercules. A lot of people don't remember that one.
Starting point is 00:02:05 That only lasted two seasons. But it was the start of an unknown actor at that time who played me as a teenager. His name was Ryan Gosling. Wow. Why I'm to hear. I don't know. He's disappeared completely. Ryan, you owe me a part of a movie for crying out of love.
Starting point is 00:02:17 Come on. But yeah, my, you know, when Andromeda finished, I did a lot of movies up until about 2012. I've been doing a lot of movies since. But it's about 10, 11 years ago. My agent manager called me in and said they can't work with me. anymore. And I said, well, why? I said, well, the stuff you're posting the internet. And I go, I'm not posting anything hateful. I'm not attacking any groups. I'm not doing, yeah, but
Starting point is 00:02:38 being a Christian conservative, the tide is sort of changing here in Hollywood. And I said, I've always been a Christian conservative. I don't consider it's a better or perfect or anything like that. They said, yeah, but it's going to be hard to get you hired. And I thought that, I probably should have got mad by, I laughed at him. I said, you guys are the one screaming for tolerance. You're the one screaming for freedom of speech. But as Hollywood, pretty much like Washington, D.C., They live in their own bubbles on the opposite sides of the country, but they're full of crap, and they're all hypocrites. And it's a one-way street with tolerance and freedom of speech.
Starting point is 00:03:08 So I just said, you know, the heck with it. I love the industry. My wife and I formed Sorbo Studios. Go to sorboos studios.com. A lot of information on there. And I've been shooting about four movies a year for the last 12 years. So I've been doing my own thing. And you seem happy.
Starting point is 00:03:23 Most people we've talked to, and we've talked to a lot of people who've ended up being forced out one way or another because, you know, this is. the wrong thing or thought the wrong thing or posted the wrong thing, whatever. And for a lot of them, it's very traumatic and it doesn't even necessarily end well. But you clearly landed on your feet, right? Yeah, I decided I'll do my own thing. I love the industry. I love the creative process of making movies.
Starting point is 00:03:44 So I'm going to keep doing it. Look, I've got two movies coming out as August. I've got four in post-production. I got three documentaries coming up at Christmas time. I got three of the movies lined up this year. I'm shooting one in Slovakia, shooting one in Turkey. And then I got one shooting in California. I'm trying to talk them to shoot in Florida
Starting point is 00:04:00 because I don't want to go back to California. But, you know, I'm staying busy. And it's not just my independent production company, but it's other Indies as well. And, you know, knock on wood, I'm still making stuff. I'm not getting invited to do any big Hollywood premieres or Hollywood movies or TV shows him more,
Starting point is 00:04:16 which is really, and one hand it's kind of sad because I find it almost childish the way they act with this hate and anger. That's what freedom of speech is supposed to be about. We're losing that left and right in our country right now, around the world, for that matter. I mean, I'm reading plenty of stuff going on. I know people got arrested in London for silently praying
Starting point is 00:04:34 on the streets in front of abortion clinics. You're going, this is nuts. You look at what's going on in Canada. I don't know how that guy keeps getting elected. Yeah. What's Fidel's son? What's his name? It's crazy.
Starting point is 00:04:46 Canada's first black prime minister. Yeah, it's crazy what's going on. But, you know, we've got to keep fighting a good fight. Every movie I've been doing, especially six or seven years, because you mentioned other people, you know, they're afraid. Fear's a great weapon. I get people, actors, a director, camera guys, lighting guys, whatever. They pull me to the side of the studio like we're doing a drug deal.
Starting point is 00:05:07 And they say, hey, man, thanks for being a voice for us. I go, well, why don't you be a voice for yourself? But they're afraid to get black wizard like I did. And I said, I'm still working, you know, but we need, the sheep are going to be a sheep, but we need the lines that wake up out there and speak up, because you're going to all get canceled eventually anyway. The only way to fight back is not being afraid. Oh, man. And it's such a professional. point because we both have had that experience of that, particularly being in the UK comedy industry, where people are like, oh, well done, but I wouldn't say it. And you're like, well, that's why we're here, my friend. But what's interesting is, so you, from about 2011, 2012, you didn't have
Starting point is 00:05:45 a career anymore in Hollywood, but you look at Hollywood. Is it even relevant anymore? Really? Does anybody even watch the movies? Yeah, well, Disney proved that no one does. I mean, with all the what crap they're putting out there. They lost well over, I think, $1.4 billion last year, because people get tired of the crap they're putting out. And I'm glad that people are starting to speak up because I get stopped all the time through airports, hotel lobbies, restaurants, and it's not because of Hercules. It's not because of movies like Solcer for what if, God's not dead, let that be light. And these are people saying, please keep making these movies. The biggest disadvantage we have is independent guys. We're not shooting $300 million movies
Starting point is 00:06:25 like Avatar and Iron Man or Superman. I mean, these are guys. those are a $100 million advertising budget. My movies are $3 million. That's catering budget on those movies. And those are the guys we got to fight to try to get, you know, word them out to get these things out there. And that's the only way we can get out there is people talk about the movies.
Starting point is 00:06:41 Because it's so interesting you say about Christian conservatives when this is a Christian conservative country. Sure. And you just go, so what you're basically saying is you don't want to cater to your audience. Yeah. That's nuts. It sucks.
Starting point is 00:06:57 I had a movie that came out back in 2018 called Let There Be Light. My wife wrote it. I directed it. I starred it. My wife stars in it. My two boys are in it for the first movie they've ever done. Sean Hannity funded it. We're up against Thor Ragnarock.
Starting point is 00:07:12 They're opening weekend against us, a $300 million movie up because a $2.3 million movie. We were a number two per screen average. I get a call Monday after opening weekend from the guys at Netflix. Say, hey, we know that you have a foot in this inspirational thing. We want to open an inspirational division here at Netflix. We want you headed up. I was like, awesome. So I go meet them in their Hollywood office.
Starting point is 00:07:32 I meet him again a month later. Meet him four meetings over four months. Send them great scripts that I have, television movies, television shows, all that stuff. By the fourth meeting, I sat in that with the top ten people all Netflix there. And I'm looking at this going, you guys, this is all lip service. You guys aren't going to do this, are you? There's 80 million homes in America that want the kind of product I'm putting out there. And I'm not saying faith-based movies.
Starting point is 00:07:55 I hate saying that. I like saying family-friendly movies. Every movie I do is faith-based. I got a movie coming out that I play a 700-year-old vampire, but it's a comedy. And it's very funny. It's a secular movie, but it's funny. So I'll do movies like that. I'm not, there's a certain movies I won't do just because I don't want to do a horror movie and when I'm chopping up teenage kids. That has no interest for me. But people come up and stop me and say, we will watch your movies because we know I can take up my kids to it. But Hollywood and even Netflix, I'm going, you're, you scream socialism as good. You're still a capitalist business. Let's not fool our society. And why are you dissing 80 million homes out there? Because this crazy ideology is going on in the world right now. I think the biggest killer in America and around the world is apathy. People go, oh well, what can we do? Well, wake the hell up and quit being afraid.
Starting point is 00:08:42 COVID showed how governments at every level around the world. You saw what happened down in Melbourne, Australia. It was crazy. It was crazy enough here in America. But it was different here in Florida compared to California for sure. Fear. That's the greatest weapon that government loves to. to use to control our lives. And people got to stop being afraid. But there are people in Hollywood.
Starting point is 00:09:02 Like if you look at Mel Gibson, I know Mel Gibson's brand has been tarnished because of his personal life. But you look at things like movies like Passion of the Christ. That made huge amounts of money. 30 million dollar budget made $600 million. And you go, why? You know, because let's be fair, most of those people in Hollywood are amoral. They're totally amoral. No question. Amoral. So you'd think there'd be enough of them going, I want to make. make some money. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, why not? I mean, why would you, as, it's a pretty well-run Jewish community in Hollywood. I remember every agent, a manager, an entertainment lawyer, whatever, they're all Jewish, but most of them are not practicing Jews. They're agnostic, they're,
Starting point is 00:09:44 they're, you know, atheist Jews. But the reality is, why would you not support a movie like Passion of the Christ when it deals with Jesus? Who was a Jew, by the way? It's a weird thing. He and his brother have been the last five years. I've been talking to Mel a lot over the last few months. They're going to do the sequel to The Passion, and they're going to talk about the whole resurrection. I don't know when they started filming. Mel spent like an hour in the phone with me one day
Starting point is 00:10:08 telling me the whole story behind what the fashion is going to be. I mean, their sequel is going to be. And after you got done, I said, this is not a $30 million movie. Meals $100 million. It goes, no, it's $200 million. And I don't know. Is he going to be able to raise the funds?
Starting point is 00:10:20 It's highly going to fight him. It's weird to me that you want to fight back on that. And it's in the huge audience is out there. I never remember a movie called Noah came out. Russell Crow started. Yeah, I remember. Came out in 2014. The same of your gods not dead came out, my movie.
Starting point is 00:10:34 Well, here's a movie. They hired an atheist director. Why would you, in the Jewish community, in a story based on the Old Testament, the Jewish Bible, why would you not hire someone at least believes in the story of Noah? I mean, this guy made it. My wife, we went to the premiere at the Paramount Lot. This is before it came out in theaters.
Starting point is 00:10:51 And we're sitting like 30 rows back. And my wife whispers took me halfway through. This isn't the story of Noah. This is Waterworld meets Transformers. I said, that's pretty much what it was. And I told it, I said, you watch what happens. The Christian community will support this movie opening weekend. But word of mouth is going to kill it.
Starting point is 00:11:07 They're going to walk on and go, crap. I said it's going to drop 60% one week and next. Drop 67% in one week. I'll tell you an interesting story, Kevin. I hadn't been to Alleyer until about two, three years ago. And I'm one of these agnostic Jewish people. I'm Jewish a little bit. And I remember spending three days in LA, and after three days, I went, these people need God.
Starting point is 00:11:29 Because the bubble that I just experienced there, and I saw like this much, I'm sure, compared to what you know, was pretty crazy. But on the other hand, we just had Andrew Claven on the show for the 19th time. I've known Andrew for years. He's a great guy. And, you know, one of the things we talked with him about was the fact that actually there are quite a lot of people who aren't, you know, woke, progressive. atheists in Hollywood also kicking around they just can't seem to you know they're having to hide they're having to meet behind closed doors we're the ones in the closet now I guess it's our turn yeah I'm just not in the closet anymore but go ahead I'm sorry
Starting point is 00:12:08 no well I guess that's what I was getting that is do you think do you think Hollywood will will adjust and recover as the reality of the financial hit the ideology imposes on Hollywood hits? Or do you think it's just, you know, it's going to get bottomed out and no matter what? And it's going to have to be something else that takes a place. Well, I think they have to eventually, because it doesn't make much sense to me what they're putting out there. I mean, the celebration of anger and hate and divisiveness and murder and just this, just this weird sort of thing that's going on within that world doesn't make much sense to me. The conspiracy theorist theorist in me, I look at what Disney's doing and I'm thinking, I bet you our tax
Starting point is 00:12:50 from Washington, D.C., are being funded underneath the ground saying, you guys keep putting your message out there. If you look at Roe v. Wade, and that came out in 72. It didn't take very long, three, four years, for everybody looked at abortion as, no big deal. You know, it's like having a cold. So everybody just accepted very quickly. So after a generation or two of it,
Starting point is 00:13:07 people just looked at abortion as no big deal. Like it wasn't murder or anything like that. So we have that now going on within, I think, within Hollywood, where maybe Disney is being funded by our tax dollars. We don't know about it because it wouldn't surprise me if they are. and say, you keep pushing the agenda you're pushing. There's a purposeful destruction of America right now, and I don't understand, but it's all about power control, and I think it's evil.
Starting point is 00:13:29 It's evil out there right now. Who do you think is doing this? Who do you think is behind it? I think there's a lot of, George Soros is one of the main guys behind it. I mean, there's big money on these guys, and why, it's power. It's all about power. And it is about money with these guys. And it's just, I look at, and go, I mean, you look at what's going on in universities right now.
Starting point is 00:13:46 All these people, and they're marching. I've never seen such a huge thing against the Jews within our universities, but half the thousands of people have been arrested aren't even students. They're these professional people, and George Sos is certainly paying for that. I would say if I look at Antifa, I'd love to do a documentary on Antifa because I've done a lot of documentaries about 10 over the last eight, nine years. And I look at Antifa, I would love to get them in a room one by one. Take off your bloody mask for one thing, you cowards.
Starting point is 00:14:12 I mean, in a group, they're very brave and powerful. One in one, I'd love to talk to them. I bet you there's a common denominator with all of them. Bet you're from broken families. They're from their abuse somewhere down the road, drugs, alcohol, whatever it may be. And just they're getting paid. There's a number of them said that George Soyos is funding us. When the riots were going on, they're bringing pallets of bricks and rocks to these different locations.
Starting point is 00:14:35 I mean, that was incredibly well organized as hate and anger out there. They're just waiting for the right time to do it. And I look at how to fight back. We got to fight back. People got, I think apathy, as I said, is I think it's the biggest killer out there. People need to wake up and not be afraid. Kevin, so you talked about hate and murder and all the rest of it. And I think this is where I differ from you because I look at Shakespeare, for instance.
Starting point is 00:15:00 Sure. You look at Macbeth. You look at King Lear. You look at Titus Andronicus. I mean, I don't think you could get a more bloody film than Titus Andronicus. To me, there's a difference because if you look at what Shakespeare's, He talked about all of these things, but it was done in a kind of a different way. To me, what I think you're talking about is projecting a message that you feel is profoundly wrong
Starting point is 00:15:29 as opposed to an artist showing you a character like Macbeth and going, you decide about what you think of him. That's interesting. I mean, violence has been around the world forever. We've done a horrific thing to mankind for centuries. It's funny about Shakespeare. I was 11 years old when I went to the Guthrie theater in Minnesota, were very, Al Goree, British guy that brought it over there back in the like
Starting point is 00:15:51 the 40s or 50s, whenever it was. That was when I was 11 years old, I went to see the Merchant of Venice there. And that's when I decided to be an actor. Now I was 11. It was Shakespeare. I don't know what the hell they were saying. It was Shakespeare. But I was blown away by the actors on the stage, and that sort of opened the door for me.
Starting point is 00:16:04 But you're not wrong. I mean, the violence has always been there. It always will be there. But we got to, you know, you can't have good without evil and evil without good. So to me, the battle is always going to go on. I don't think the world has ever been a piece at some place in the world ever. But if you look what's going on now, you look at 15 million people across the border in three years under Biden. Trump's four years, 1.4 million.
Starting point is 00:16:26 Why are we not up in arms about 15 million people coming across the border? I honestly believe we're going to have a 9-11 in 30 cities across America when the time is right for these guys. They're already projecting at least 800,000 terrorists of coming to our country. What the hell? Why are not people up in arms about that? Why are people not screaming? This is absolutely ridiculous. And it's got to be on purpose.
Starting point is 00:16:45 Why else would it be going on and nobody's saying anything and letting our government do it? It's weird. I remember people get in my face about it years ago about having an open border. I said, well, let me ask you something. Do you lock your house at night? And they go, well, yeah. And I go, why? Look at America's huge house and millions of people that we don't know coming in.
Starting point is 00:17:04 And there's one woman I looked there and said, okay, let me ask you something because she did a 180. She was a fan and then right away. Boom. We should have opened. border. She's like in my face about it. And I said, what if you're in home right now? And there was seven illegal aliens in your living room. And she said, I'd let them stay. And I just start, you can't help but laugh at these people because they pretend they're so virtuous and so perfect. And we're the party of love. But they're the party of hate. They're a party of destruction.
Starting point is 00:17:29 And I said, you know what? Give me your address. I can easily find cell. I was living in LA at the time. I said, every corner I go in LA, there's a bunch of them waiting for a job. I said, let me bring them to your house and you'll let them stay. And I said, you're so funny, because I know three days into a Christmas holiday, you're ready for your family to leave, but you'll let these people you don't know stay in your house, give me a break. And it's because what you're talking about actually is common sense.
Starting point is 00:17:51 And I think the more that we talk about these subjects, the more I realize is that the higher up you go when it comes to status and money, the more you divorce you become from reality. So the more you're likely to believe narratives like open borders are good. When anybody, regardless of race, gender, whatever it is, who lives in those communities that are affected by this,
Starting point is 00:18:14 they can tell you pretty honestly about what's going on. Of course. I mean, look, they scream walls don't work. I go, really? These are the people that have walls around their house. They have guards. I mean, once again, I laugh at the open hypocrisy of these people, especially in L.A., these big A-list actors and producers and directors
Starting point is 00:18:33 and all the people in Washington, D.C. But look at the crime that's going on right now. Look, Steve Bushemney was just smacked in the face just the other day walking on the streets to New York. Some black guy, big dude, they got him on films walking up to him and popping him in my face and walking away. And I said, this stuff is just weird that they were letting this happen. We got people pushing people into a subways pushing in front of trams coming in.
Starting point is 00:18:57 It's crazy what we're doing this world right now. And people got to start standing up. I don't get it. I mean, I want my kids to grow up and have a safe world to live in. I want my grandkids to grow up and have a safe world to live in. So I don't know. We'll see what happens. But people, we've reached a tipping point,
Starting point is 00:19:11 and it's got to start moving the other way. And in terms of Hollywood... Not loving your AT&T or T Mobile Bill. Yeah, we've been hearing that a lot. Good news. Bring your AT&T or T Mobile Bill to Verizon, and we'll give you a better deal. So get away from that unfortunate phone bill
Starting point is 00:19:25 and get to Verizon. Run, ride, canoe. Whatever it takes, we'll be here. Bring your AT&T or T Mobile Bill to a Verizon store today and we'll give you a better deal on the best network. A better deal. No surprises. That's for all.
Starting point is 00:19:37 Verizon. Best network based on root metrics, best overall mobile network performance U.S. second half 2025. All rights reserved. It must provide a recent consumer mobile bill in the name of the person, redeeming the deal, additional terms, conditions, and restrictions apply. Was it not always like this in terms of the people who were there were kind of increasingly divorced from reality, obviously very left-wing? You know, you remember the communist sympathizers in Hollywood, which were there the whole time. Do you think it's changed over time, or is it just always been like this? I think it's been that way for a long time, but I think, like I said, I think the bubbles are starting to move a little bit
Starting point is 00:20:09 because I get more people come up to me, as I say, saying thanks to being a voice. Because they're there. I know that more and more people. There was a group that we had that a lot of actors put together back 15 years ago, Gary Sinise, a couple other people, called FOA, Friends of Aid. And that's, you know, Abe Lincoln, our first conservative president. And that was sort of a, we're trying to copy, I guess, what they're doing in the West Hollywood world.
Starting point is 00:20:32 It's a fun of your friends of Dorothy. So the Wizard of Oz type of things. And we grew to like 2,600 strong. That's people on both sides of the camera, from camera operators to agents, to lawyers, to the actors, whatever it may be. So there is a stronger and bigger voice out there, but a lot of people are still afraid to come out.
Starting point is 00:20:48 I'm not going to name the ones I know that are really big name guys. And I know them. They come up to me and say, I'm not ready to do what you did because I'm still working a lot, you know. And I get it. I get that fear.
Starting point is 00:20:57 But I wish they would have the balls that come out and fight back because we need to fight back and we need to open up the reality of the world. I just look at, when I first moved there in the late 80s, I thought it was a great time to be there. And then up through the little 90s, I booked Hercules in 93 and I lived in New Zealand seven years. But at that time, I didn't see that kind of hate and anger. I didn't see any racism.
Starting point is 00:21:21 I didn't see any, you know, people attacking the Jews or attacking the Christians. Now, if you're a Christian or a Jew, look at all the attacks people are gone in this country right now. This country is founded on Judeo-Christian values. That's what founded this country. The founding fathers who signed the documents. These guys were all practicing Christians. And now we got students at Ivy League schools that want to tear down plaques that have been up there since the mid-1700s at Ivy League schools
Starting point is 00:21:46 and say, that's not us anymore. I'm going, I post it on Twitter to all these people riding right now. I said, you guys better keep your tents because you're going to need them after you graduate. And you mentioned Hollywood obviously has a very strong Jewish presence. Do you think there's been a shift in attitude somewhat post-October 7th? Do you think people are starting to wake up and realize that this so-called progressive ideology is really a hateful ideology that will always end up in anti-Semitism and hatred against white people and men and all sorts of other groups?
Starting point is 00:22:18 Do you think people are waking up? I hope they're waking up. I'm not really seeing any big movement in that world. I'm not in Hollywood anywhere. I escaped California five and a half years ago. I've got my wife and I both have family in Florida. We all were coming out of her for years. We talked about moving out.
Starting point is 00:22:32 I just reached a point that said, I'm done. And she said, let's go. Because every time I got into 101 or the 405 and you drive 20 miles, it's going to take you two hours, they said, I'm tired of doing this. And I don't need to do anymore. I was well established. I was shooting every movie I shoot is in Texas or further east. Nothing shoots in California, pretty much sitcoms.
Starting point is 00:22:50 And most our shows now are up in Vancouver. They're up in Toronto. Georgia's number one place to film right now for movies. So, you know, it is called show business. And they can pretend only want, once again, that they want to, you know, they're going to, they're going to, they're going to, for this or for that. But the reality is they still want to make money and keep your stockholders and board members happy. So I remember they, it was Georgia a couple of years ago said, you know, something about an abortion ban in Hollywood.
Starting point is 00:23:17 We're leaving Georgia. I said, give it two months. They're not going to, they're not going to leave. It's like every election, if Bush gets elected moving to Canada, all these A-lister, then, you know, Trump gets like moving to Canada. They don't move. Yeah. They don't move. And I've asked some of them.
Starting point is 00:23:30 I've bumped into some of these guys and that I know. I'm not going to name their names. And I walked up and I go, so when are you moving to Canada? He's look at me, you know, because it's all just, it's all just like, do I care if some of these big-name actors move to Canada? I think most people don't give a crap. But, you know, they sit there and play this heavy-handed thing. I remember George Clooney just at the Cannes Film Festival. He goes, very cocky.
Starting point is 00:23:54 And I like George. I mean, he's always been cool to me. We don't know each other well, but the few times we bump, he's always, and I'm sure he knows Rice Dan, but he's always been a cool guy to me, very nice. Alec Baldwin's always been fair to me. He knows that Stephen Baldwin and I pretty much conservative Christian guys. And he's never been a jerk to me. But I sit there and George Clooney was saying that. He had Julia Roberts next to him.
Starting point is 00:24:16 And he goes, Donald Trump was not going to be elected president. And of course, he got elected president. So I would have been to fly in that room when Hillary found out all the voter cheating that they did as well. They realized they didn't do enough. That's why they were set for Biden. Don't you find it weird, Kevin? that in a Hollywood, it's more accepted to be a Scientologist than a Christian. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:39 Isn't it? It's weird. But I got to go to Tom Cruise Ketter because Tom's staying down a road that's kind of interesting. It's almost neutral in a way. And when he came out with the last one, the Maverick Top Gun thing, China, which I did a documentary on them called the Hollywood Takeover, it's a Chinese takeover Hollywood. When his movie came out, they were China, they said, you got to take that Taiwan patch off. your jacket and then COVID it and they held on the movie for a while and he thought
Starting point is 00:25:07 about I'm sure he had a lot to do with this and when the movie came out he said no we're not gonna take it off and China wouldn't take the movie still made a billion dollars probably could have made two billion in that 1.5 billion people in China but he stood up against them in a very quiet way it wasn't like no we're just leave it on but China is certainly gonna make sure that whatever comes into China for movie wise would be never be anything negative about China if it's negative about America they're all for it They're all for it.
Starting point is 00:25:34 So, you know, we see that, you know, they have a lot of control and content. They own half the movie theaters here now in America. They bought up hundreds of thousands of farmland. They're not, they're not. They own half the movie theaters. They don't, oh, yeah. I think they own all AMC. You can check on that, but I'm pretty sure they all AMC theaters.
Starting point is 00:25:52 Wow. So, and also there was, it's been talked about time and time again about how did Disney capitulate to China? Sure. And when you look at that, you go, who's actually in charge? Is it the studios or is it China? Because if it's China, that's kind of worrying. I recommend Hollywood, check out Hollywood Takeover. It's an amazing documentary.
Starting point is 00:26:16 I'm barely in it. I'm in it. My wife's in it. But there really follows one producer in particular that finally woke up when his wife said, are you okay with this? I mean, he's done Iron Man and all these big, big movies that have gone over there. and he realized, my God, we're just basically selling our soul to the Chinese, and that's what we're doing.
Starting point is 00:26:34 That's what our government's doing. I think China owns, I'm sure most of our debt is with China. And, you know, everything we've got, I'm sure this is made in China. If we look at the bottom, he's cops. And so I got a buddy does business over there all the time. Here's an interesting thing, because this is a golfing buddy in mine, but he's in the furniture business. He does business over there, also in Vietnam and Turkey, travels quite a bit.
Starting point is 00:26:56 He says to move, if you're a citizen of China, to move from a woman. one province to the next is huge. You need a lot of paperwork to be able to do it. They guide every move you do. How come we got 50,000 Chinese that have just come across the board in San Diego over the last six months? Who are these? Are they prisoners? Are they military? How did they get into Mexico to be able to come up here? Yeah, it's very hard to leave China. It's very hard. So this is kind of interesting what's going on. And once again, we're just kind of sitting around going whatever. Yeah. And because we're talking about Christianity and being a Christian, Christian in Hollywood. There's a couple of people who are open about it and you've seen the backlash,
Starting point is 00:27:39 but it doesn't seem to have affected him. I think Chris Pratt is one of them. Yeah. He's an open Christian. Yep. Very, very much so. Open Christian. I know. No, he is. He's very open about it. Yeah. I met him one time. Seems like a really cool guy. And I never thought looking at Parks and Recreation that this guy, look at this guy was 50 pounds of weight. Let's make him a superstar, you know, action hero. But he's great at it. Yeah. He's, he's, I love his movies. I love his acting. I would love to work him sometime.
Starting point is 00:28:05 I think it's hurt him a little bit, but it hasn't him a little bit because he's too big. It's like John Voight. I know John Voight very well. And John, it was years ago, he told me, he said, I didn't leave Hollywood.
Starting point is 00:28:15 It left me. Dennis Miller, not Hollywood. I didn't leave the Democrat Party. It left me. Because it keeps moving further and further left. Exactly. I look at a guy like Bill Maher, who's, I'm sure you've seen some of the statements.
Starting point is 00:28:26 He's in the last couple of years. Because he, I would say he's a J. If you look at JFK's inauguration speech in 1960, there's no Democrat talking that way today. In fact, one of his famous quotes is on his gravesite in Arlington there where it says, ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country. Is there any Democrat talk in the way? Is there any Republican talk in that way today? There's a lot of rhinos in there too right now.
Starting point is 00:28:50 So the whole movement of politics in America keeps me more and more left. I think it was Brezhnev when he was president in Russia. He said, we don't have to bring communism in America. Communism will just happen in America and he wasn't wrong and that was 70 years ago. He said that. Are you familiar with a guy called Yuri Basmanov? No. Oh, you'd love to check him out. Okay. He was a KGB defect who came to Canada and then came to America and he told. I think I've seen his interview. I bet you have. I bet you have. I think he talks about the way demoralization and how the Soviet Union was spending a lot of money to infiltrate the 70s? Yeah, I've seen it. I've seen it then. I bet you have seen the video and one of the things he talks about Interesting.
Starting point is 00:29:29 Is that the society which is being infiltrated in this way has to be willing to do this, which is why I think I come back to your point about what's happening on college campuses, because I think a lot of this is about what kids have been taught in school and in college. Of course. You know? What did Lenin say, Bolshevger Revolution? He said the best way to control the population is through education. We've been doing in America for decades.
Starting point is 00:29:52 It's just accelerated the last 20, 25 years. When I was in school, even university, I know. there are politics around, but everybody, whether I was the teachers I had, I had a double business major in college, and the teachers I had even in grade school through high school, nobody told me how to vote. Nobody told me to believe in God or not believe in God. They taught the subjects that being paid to teach. So where did that just really start to change so much more. I mean, we took the Bible out of school back in 1964, and that was sort of the first start of it all, but it's interesting to me to see how quickly things have changed, because I look at
Starting point is 00:30:28 all these teachers down the 20s and 30s, they are indoctrinated all through grade school, college, and look where they are now. Look at the craziness we got going right now. Where I said we should have a camera in every schoolroom. Every school room should have a camera, and they fought back on that. It's like, why? You don't want us to see, with our tax dollars, our kids are in there, and you guys are going to sit down indoctrinate them.
Starting point is 00:30:52 You're going to tell my 10-year-old boy that, you know, just because he put on my wife's high heels that we should cut off his penis now. I mean, it's crazy what we're doing out there right now. To me, it's like, I don't, I have, I work with the gay population all the time. Almost every movie I've ever done, there's somebody gay on the set. I don't care.
Starting point is 00:31:10 It doesn't affect my lifestyle. I don't care what you pick. But don't sit there and mutilate these kids at such a young age. If 18 years old is where you can go into the army and you can be killed to defending America, then maybe that's the age. You should make a decision
Starting point is 00:31:23 where you want to do with your life, whether you want to be a boy or a girl, whatever it may be. Bruce Jenner waited until 60, okay? So it's like, why are you doing this to kids now? Because I'm already seeing a number of stories of kids that did it 20 years ago. They're 25 now. I've seen plenty of my interviews.
Starting point is 00:31:38 Looking to mom and go, I was five, Mom. What were you thinking? You know? And so, to me, I know we're kind of seguing something else right now, but I look at that. It kind of makes me angry that you're doing this to kids. Let them grow up and be mature enough to make that kind of decision. Don't you force that on them and confuse them.
Starting point is 00:31:55 There's a great video. There's a guy's in like a very hospital-looking room, which is everything's just white, very, very sterile. He's got a little table in front of them. One kid at a time, seven years old. They're all like six, seven years old. $5,000 cash and two Oreo cookies. You can have one.
Starting point is 00:32:11 You can't have both. They all pick their cookies because a little six-year-old kid and his brain can't go, $5,000, I can buy a lot of cereal cookies. They're not thinking that way, you know? And they're telling me that they're old enough to make a decision on cutting their penis off or not? Come on.
Starting point is 00:32:23 Well, Francis used to be a teacher, and he always loves to tell. tell the story about when he asked, was he seven years old? Would you want to be when you grow up? Oh, yeah. Well, yeah, he was six. I think he was six, yeah. I asked him, what do you want to be when you grow up?
Starting point is 00:32:36 And he goes to me, I want to be a dog. There you go. That's kids, right? No, this stuff is pretty crazy. They live in a make-believe world. That's just fine. I got fantasies, all kinds of. You know, I want to be a dragon slayer in hell.
Starting point is 00:32:50 Years later, I got to be Hercules. And you mentioned COVID, and obviously one of the things, happen with you is you were pretty outspoken during that. Sure. And you were banned from Facebook, won't you? Yeah. The last four million followers were speaking the truth. And all I was doing, most of my posts on Facebook were other doctors saying,
Starting point is 00:33:09 wait a minute. I mean, I even put on Fauci saying in 2017 about mask wearing, oh, you don't need to wear masks. In fact, when COVID hit in 2020, whatever it was, he even said the first time around, you won't need masks. Same in the UK. And what happens? He gets backstage.
Starting point is 00:33:24 I said, don't say that. me tell them they all go over a mask. And now they come out, I said masks are useless. I came out, look, I started posting, doctors are saying this virus is 75% smaller or something, the flu virus, goes right through the mask. It makes no sense. It's crazy we're doing that. So I was misinformation, I was, you know, all this conspiracy theories.
Starting point is 00:33:43 So, of course, everything I said in 2020 and 2021 is now all come true. That was another Twitter post or ex post. I'll save Twitter forever probably. I said, I need more conspiracy theories because all of mine keep coming true. And it's true. It's like, where's the apologies for that? Where's Rachel Maddow from CNN and said, you better take the shots or you're going to kill grandma? And we found everything they're doing was on purpose. Take away, take away Ivermectin? Why? That stuff has been around forever. Do you think it's on purpose, Kevin, or do you just think that people have a particular way of looking at the world and that means they behave in a certain way?
Starting point is 00:34:20 Do you know what I mean? Because I think I'm always wearing. of looking at things being done on purpose as opposed to people just being idiots. You know what I mean? There's always that balance. And also during COVID, there was a lot of fear, as you say. And when people are scared, they tend to do silly things. Well, you know, it's amazing.
Starting point is 00:34:41 If you look at the left, you look at the liberals, you look at the Democrats, you go back to the 60s. Okay, what do you got? You got the Kennedy's assassinations. You got Martin Luther King. You got the Vietnam War. You got the rock and roll getting very political because of Vietnam War.
Starting point is 00:34:53 And everybody on that left, in that liberal Democrat world is don't trust the man, don't trust the man, or the man was always the government. It goes 50 years later and all of a sudden, they've flipped and the trust of science, trust of science, you're saying, I'm going, but that's what science is, it's always questioning.
Starting point is 00:35:10 That's what you do as a scientist. You're always wondering, I wonder if this, do you think it possibly could be this? Here, they rush it out. There's a great thing from Fauci in 2017 where he's been interviewed and talked about vaccines. And he said, you really need eight to 10 years. You need to really test these things before.
Starting point is 00:35:25 put them out there. They rushed this vaccine out in eight or nine months. And you look at the number of deaths that have come for that in the quietness. I know an American airline pilot who would not take it. And he's now trying to protect all these other pilots that have taken it. There's so many pilots that they call brain fog, ones that have got myocarditis and died, all these things. We have an 800% higher percent of kids, 24 and younger dying after they took these shots. And we're not, we're saying, it's all, well, we don't know what they died of. It's really weird that this 18-year-old kid fell down on the football field and died. Why aren't we talking about it? Why are we not looking at it? I know personally a friend, his wife was pregnant, and I said, don't take the shots.
Starting point is 00:35:59 Because I know they're left leaning. I still have liberal friends. I have atheist friends, agnostic friends. I don't hate people that have a different point of view and me at all. Open speech, I think, is awesome. We may not agree, but I can still have a talk about it. Yeah, of course. And to me, it's like, I've never had a problem with that.
Starting point is 00:36:14 And that's because of what my parents tell me. But I said, don't take the shots. She went and took the shots. Seven months pregnant. Baby died three weeks later. They did an autopsy filled with blood clots. You tell me that's a coincidence? Kevin, but I think to your point is we're starting to have a conversation about it.
Starting point is 00:36:30 Look what's happened with AstraZeneca. You know, so that has been taken off the market. And now we're seeing in the mainstream press, people coming out going, I've had severe vaccine injuries as a result of this. I read in the Times of London, literally this morning, this woman from the United States, she volunteered. She was part of the volunteer program to test the shots. And as a result, she has severe life-limiting injuries.
Starting point is 00:36:54 There was a point in time where that wouldn't be in the mainstream, but now that is. So I think part of it is time as well, Kevin. You're right. Time is part of the healing process as well. But you're right. More and more people now are saying, wait a minute. And more and more people like you are bringing into the forefront as well, at least saying we should look at this and question this. Because I know I've seen a lot of podcasts from people too doing the same thing. Well, we were saying at the time.
Starting point is 00:37:20 And look, by the way, I think the vaccine has probably saved a lot of lives. is just forcing it on people who didn't need to take it. Pregnant women, young men, kids, right? All of that stuff just didn't make any logical sense. And that's what worried me because you've got this thing that is going to save a lot of people's lives, but then you're lying to people. And the thing that was made it obvious to me
Starting point is 00:37:42 is when Francis and I both had COVID early on. And they were like, you still got to have the vaccine. And then I was like, no, this doesn't make sense. Another Fauci interview I saw, okay? The guy said my wife just said a huge, This one before COVID, really got nailed with the flu. She was sick for a couple weeks. He said, and he said, should she take the flu shot?
Starting point is 00:38:02 And he said, well, no, she already had the flu. She's built up an immune system. He says, that's the best thing. She doesn't need the shot. And now they're saying you need the shot. I read recently up there in Trudeau, Fidel's son, up there in Canada, said that they want a pass said that everybody in Canada has to take the shot, the COVID shot every three months or something like that.
Starting point is 00:38:21 I said, what? Why? Why? I mean, when I look at all these teenage girls at their parents had their kids take the shots, 14, 15, 16. I'm wondering in 10, 15 years, if they want to get pregnant, if they're going to be able to get pregnant. Because now we've read stuff that attacks not only the sperm count in men, but it attacks the ovaries and women as well. And as well, we don't know the long-term effects.
Starting point is 00:38:42 No, we don't. We don't know the long-term effects. So that may be very well be true. It may not be. Sure, exactly. But the thing that I worry about is that it's damaged people's faith in vaccines. And vaccines have been one of the most amazing technologies that have saved millions upon millions of lives. So as a former teacher, we're now seeing kids not taking the measles vaccine.
Starting point is 00:39:04 Measles is a very serious illness, which can really create life-changing and life-limiting injuries in children. It's highly contagious. And if a woman contracts it when she's pregnant, that means that the baby can be really severely affected. And it can kill you. you if you're an adult and you can get it. And now in schools, we're seeing outbreaks and measles. Yeah, I mean, I took all the shots when I was a kid, but I think the quality of the shots,
Starting point is 00:39:31 I think the makeup of the shots have changed a little bit because I'm sure you've seen this too, just the number of kids that are affected by these shots in different ways, autism. It was just huge. It wasn't like a big deal back then, but now it just seems like it's exploded. I think that was a guy, that was a guy in the UK called I think Andrew Wakefield, which has been debunked. I don't think there's any evidence. that shows vaccines cause autism. But I think Francis' point is that that's the kind of people, that's the kind of questions people are going to start asking.
Starting point is 00:39:59 Was it diet? Why has autism so much more common today? I actually don't know. Well, we're trying to work it out. And look, no. I'd love to know the answer. Me too. And I don't think any of us as a scientist,
Starting point is 00:40:07 so we're probably going to have a hard time working it out on the podcast. But I think what the people are talking about environmental factors, a diet, microplastics, there's all sorts of things. I don't think it's vaccine specifically. But I think it's interesting that we're having this conversation because this is exactly what you were talking about, which is if you force people to do things that are a priori, obviously not the right thing for them to do, you create suspicion and then people will ask lots of questions. Some of them will be reasonable, some unreasonable. And that seemed to me to be like just a very unwise thing to have done. The diet looks like it could be something. Yeah. There's a documentary called Food Inc.
Starting point is 00:40:44 I highly recommend it. Yeah. And it shows you they just jack these chickens up in these steroids. Because if you look at, you go to the grocery store and you see the size of these chicken breasts. And then you get the organic ones and they're about half the size. And you're going, I mean, these chickens, when I saw this documented, they can't even stand up and walk anymore. They put on so much weight. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:02 And they grow so much more faster. You're going, maybe all this stuff isn't that good for us. No, absolutely it isn't. And it's also as well the fact that. people are having kids later on in life, the later that you have, kids are more likely they are to be born with, born with genetic defects, etc. So there's also part of that. For instance, something like Down syndrome is related to the age of the mother. Autism might very well be related to the age of the mother or the age of the father. So there are lots of things that I think,
Starting point is 00:41:31 and this is a problem. You're right there. You're having it later. You're right. Yeah. And so, and this is a problem, unless you're prepared to be honest and come out and go, look, we made mistakes. This was a pandemic and we were too hasty with certain things. We got it wrong. I think people would understand that because people would go, you know what, we were all terrified. February 2020, I was terrified because I was going, what's going to happen? Is this going to be, you know, like the Spanish flu of, I think, 1918 when millions of people died? Is that what we're facing? That is what happened. Many people died. Yeah. So yeah, millions of people died. It was a bad disease, but just the panic and the fear and the lies, I think undermined a lot of people's
Starting point is 00:42:14 confidence. You tell yourself, no one wants your college-era band tease, but on Deepop, people are searching for exactly what you've got. You once paid a small fortune for them at merch stands. Now, a teenager who calls them vintage will offer that same small fortune back. Sell them easily on Deepop. Just snap a few photos and we'll take care of the rest. Who knew your questionable music taste would be a money-making machine?
Starting point is 00:42:38 Your style can make you cash. Start selling on Deepop where taste recognizes taste. Anyway, let's come back to movies because one of the things we wanted to ask you is The Daily Wire is making movies, you and others are making movies from a different perspective. Do you think that's the way this gets resolved ultimately, the market of... Or do you think there's some other ways that this can be brought back to a healthy position? I like it. Look, both of my movies, I brought up the... one with the Hollywood Takeover documentary.
Starting point is 00:43:12 I have another movie that's opening August 2nd, completed down around. We're doing screenings around the country right now. And that's called Firing Squad. What are they about? Well, it's a true story, firing squad. And both of those are with Epic Times. So Epic now is throwing their hat in the ring
Starting point is 00:43:26 to do what's the same thing, daily wires. Yeah, they all want to get involved in doing this because they see an opening in there to get better stories out there. This is a true story set in Indonesia. And I play a guy. I'm in the Cuba Gooding Jr. is in the movie with me. Oh, great. Cool. And it's a true story about my character when he was in his 20s, American guy, he was surfing over there, noticed his girlfriend flirting with some guy on the beach.
Starting point is 00:43:49 Paddle in the gear, got out, ended up killing the air in a fight. Got the death sentence in Indonesia. While he was in prison, those 30 years he was in prison, he found God, he found Jesus. He became a pastor. And he saved a lot of souls of inmates and other guards in that prison, he was ultimately still shot to death in 2015, so it's pretty recent. So it's Firing Squad Film.com. Please go check it out. It comes on August 2nd in America, but hopefully it goes everywhere. But it's a true story. Tim Chey directed it, wonderful director. It's done a lot of these type of movies. I love true stories myself. And so I think a lot of these independent movies are going to keep on going. The Irwin brothers do quite a few
Starting point is 00:44:29 of these as well. And I think there's a huge audience. Like I said, there's 80 million homes I want these kind of movies that have a, have redemption and hope. And I'm not saying that in a faith way. I think people in the world right now are looking for hope. They're looking for something that's positive in their lives because the fear factor is still there. Look, in America, I'm sure they did it over in your country as well. Let's shut down churches. Let's shut down mom and pop grocery stores because they're not essential.
Starting point is 00:44:56 But here in America, liquor stores were essential. Strip clubs were essential, but not church. I thought that was the weirdest thing to cut these down. They said, guys, there's something more going in play here than just this fear factor while COVID. And you mentioned hope and a sense of vision for the future. Right. I think that's really, really important. And I'm sure as a Christian, you would say that the faith would be a big part of that.
Starting point is 00:45:22 What else can we use to bring people together and look forward to the future with a kind of united vision and a sense of optimism? Well, I think once again, it's just getting past the fear. here to wake up the lions because the sheep are going to be sheep. And, you know, I know that there's hardcore people on the left, hardcore people on the right. I think we've got to get the majority of people, I think, are more centralized or more just a little bit, maybe more left, a little more right. But those people, I think, if they actually got in room together, they found they have a lot in common. Right. But right now, there's perpetuating of this hate and this anger, I think, is a smaller part of the population, but for some reason, we give them most of the, most of the
Starting point is 00:45:58 green time, which is weird to me. We got a battle on her. hands and people just like I said need to wake up and not be afraid and that's the biggest thing so I think here's the thing if I'm going to ask you say you're agnostic if I say hey you want to go to my church and I get it you're going to ask church people there I don't know if I want to go because there's a set idea what church people are like and go how about going to the movie because the movie's a much easier thing to get somebody to go to through my site through Sorbo studios I get emails every day through that site people saying I became a Christian because of your movies I've had atheists come up to me like Gnostic monthly, I said, you know, I saw a movie Soul Surfer.
Starting point is 00:46:33 I saw a movie, God's Not Dead. I don't believe the way you do, but it's still a good movie and a good message. I like it. To me, that's a win. If somebody wants, you know, follow God and become, you know, a Christian or somebody who says, you know what, there must be something higher than me that's running everything around here. And I think that's where the hope comes in for people. The redemption comes in for people.
Starting point is 00:46:51 Just look at a road, a different avenue to go down because they just, I go, every time I go outside, I just get beat up. I'm tired of getting beat up. There was a great comedian, David Brenner. You guys are probably two. to know who that guy was. Jewish comedian, very funny. And I remember I've seen him live one time.
Starting point is 00:47:06 And he gets up there and he says, you know what, if I walk out my front door, and every time I walk out my front door, somebody dumps a bucket of shit on top of my head, eventually I'm going to go out the back door. It's just time to try a different avenue, a different road. And that made perfect sense to me out there. And that should make perfect sense for anybody and everybody out there
Starting point is 00:47:23 to just maybe open your mind a little bit and have a different perspective about what maybe somebody else is looking at. It's a very profound point, Kevin. I also think when we're talking about Hollywood, the thing that I find quite horrific is they're prepared to moralize and talk about how wonderful they are.
Starting point is 00:47:40 And yet some of the worst sexual abuses seem to be in Hollywood, like you saw what happened with Nickelodeon recently. Is that something that you kind of aware of what was going on but it was hushed up? Or was it just, was it something that was spoken about? I think it was more hushed up than anything else.
Starting point is 00:48:00 Was I aware of it? I knew some of that was going on because I knew that that whole hashtag me too thing that was happening. I kept saying, well, why didn't you come out 20 years ago and that happened to you? But a lot of people still want to work. It was very common.
Starting point is 00:48:12 I remember going to L. When I first moved to L.A., it was very common to go out to a restaurant or a club or something and see these 21-year-old really hot babe starlets that want to be ones and they be with some 67-year-old guy
Starting point is 00:48:23 that, you know, as a producer, director, somebody empowered a studio. And that's going on. And it's interesting. I used to know Glenn Frye, who's passed away years ago from the Eagles. And I asked him, Lion Eyes is one of my favorite songs from the Eagles. And I asked them, like, a song like that, how do you come up with a song like that?
Starting point is 00:48:40 And he said, we were at a restaurant. And we saw this little Starlet with his older guy. And one of the guys in the band said, look at those lying eyes. And they looked at each other. What did you say? And they wrote the song that night. Because that stuff goes on all the time and still goes on. Because these people come out there, they want to be the next big star,
Starting point is 00:48:57 whether you're a guy or a girl. And they're willing to, almost a lot of them obviously would be willing to do anything. And I think that casting couch has been alive forever since Hollywood started. I think you're probably finding plenty of stories from the 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s of that as well. So it's, it was out there.
Starting point is 00:49:15 I didn't know a lot about it. But I was definitely not privy to the world of sex trafficking with kids. I'm much more aware of it now. Jim Caviesel is a friend of mine with the same manager, agent for a long, long time. And they wrote that, that freedom, sound of freedom. God, they shot that five, six years ago. They had a hard time getting it out there. Actually, Disney had their
Starting point is 00:49:38 rights to it and were holding onto it. They probably didn't want it out there. They were able to buy it back. And the Angel Studios has such a huge major following because they're chosen. They said, look, you support this movie. And when Hollywood came out and started bashing it, you're going, why are they bashing it? Why are they against, you know, do they want to have sex with six-year-old kids? It was a weird thing for them to open up. And that gave that movie a second big boost because people on both sides of political aisle said, well, wait a minute, it's not right to have sex with six-and-seven-year-old.
Starting point is 00:50:07 So let's support this movie. And that's what sort of happened with it. Kevin, what makes a great movie? I think, look, I love, you know, do I like these action movies that come out with Thor and Spider-Man stuff? Yeah, they're fun, but it's like a roller coaster ride. And those movies are now 50% just visual effects. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:24 The characters are all Spider-Man. And that's on him doing all these things. Even a stunt guy, that's an animation thing because it's gotten so good now, the FX. But I think what makes a good movie, I think of the movies that I've been doing now, what movies Hollywood used to do, movies that have a good story, movies that characters you can relate to on the screen. Movies that are, you know, you look at, when people ask me how, like your movies, how long are they take the shoot? I go, about, oh, four or five weeks, they go, what? Because they're not thinking of James Cameron shooting three years in one avatar.
Starting point is 00:50:50 That's what they think movies are. I said there was a movie that Clint Eastwood directed A Million Dollar Baby Oh, that's an incredible man Morgan Freeman's best supporting, right? Hillers Swank wins best actress That movie wins best movie
Starting point is 00:51:05 They shot that in 27 days I didn't know that No special effects because it was actor driven It was driven by the script and the dialogue The story is so powerful They only had like three different locations They didn't have to travel or where And so movies can be shot that quickly
Starting point is 00:51:18 And I think more movies like that need to be made And I think the independent world is fulfilling that. Because I want to do movies that people, when they walk out, they go, you know what, that was really kind of cool. And they talk about the subject matter. And they talk about it. You walk out of a Spider-Man movie, you go, that was just a fun movie. It was a great roller coaster ride.
Starting point is 00:51:36 You know, the first Iron Man, I think, was the best one. Because there was a good story in there. And it was his redemption as well, saying, I'm making these bombs, but a lot of them are going to the bad guys. And we're killing a lot of people. I'm creating weapons that both sides are using against each other. And he says, maybe I shouldn't be doing that for a living. Maybe I should come up with something that hopefully tries to bring peace to the world more than anything else. Because he has the money and the brain power to do it as that character.
Starting point is 00:52:03 And I think those movies and the ones that I've been doing, I think that those are the type movies that Hollywood wants. And that's what drew me to Hollywood in the first place. Old movies that Carrie Grant was in Spencer, Tracy, Catherine Hepron, Jimmy Stewart. Those are the kind of movies I wanted to do. And me, my hero's grown up as a little kid. was Paul Newman and Robert Redford.
Starting point is 00:52:21 Yeah. I wanted to do movies like... Butch Cassidy. Butch Cassie. I wanted to do movies. And you know, here's the thing, Butch Cassey's a Sundance Kid. Where Hollywood changed in the 60s,
Starting point is 00:52:30 that movie came in like, I think, 1969. Those were really bad guys in real life. They weren't these good-looking guys that could quip and be very funny and stuff like that. And ultimately, they paid the price for what their crimes. They freeze-framed them because they didn't want to show them
Starting point is 00:52:44 get shot by 700,000 Bolivian soldiers. But at the same time, it was an interesting movie watch. It was fun. You liked the camaraderie that they had with each other, but ultimately you knew they were bad guys, but they had to pay for their sin of being the bad guys that they were.
Starting point is 00:52:58 But still, it's a movie you could relate to. I look at Jeremiah Johnson. Love that movie. Very little dialogue in it, but that's where Robert Redford found love with the Sundance Film Festival came out of that because they shot that in the mountains there in Utah.
Starting point is 00:53:12 And so there was some really wonderful things that come out of these movies that guys have done. So I'm going to always be drawn to the old movie. And I love it that my daughter was 18 now, she loves watching all these old movies with me. Oh, amazing. Whether it's musicals like Music Man or Oklahoma, or if it's movies with, you know, the Philadelphia story and stuff like that. That has great, great dialogue, great storylines.
Starting point is 00:53:32 And Hollywood just gets lazy now and just rehashing the same thing over and over again with these action movies. What you're talking about, really, is meaning and kind of moral message as well. Yeah. Yeah. And it doesn't have to be, you know, I kind of laugh on people, people think, if Christians, they think they're better than everybody else. You know, there are bad Christians out there that have this idea that, you know, you better become a Christian, you know, because our way is the right way. And I don't believe in that way. I believe that everybody, look, I know people that are great people that are atheists
Starting point is 00:54:03 and they're good, moral-based people. They just happen to believe that, you know, this happened. And I just don't buy that you can get something from nothing. But it's to me, it's like, I go, okay, who made this couch? Somebody, exactly. So it wasn't me and it wasn't you. So do I know how God started? No, I don't, but I believe one day I'll find out.
Starting point is 00:54:20 But to me, it's like I look at the stars and go, there's something bigger than all this. And you look at some of these guys, these great atheists of the world, and they kind of questioned that maybe there was some sort of intelligent being that started everything. But to me, I'm not, I don't push that on people, but I do movies that have good messages. And some people just right now go, yeah, I think I kind of want to believe the way you do. But like I told you earlier, I get people come up. I don't think the way you do. But I thought it was a good movie.
Starting point is 00:54:47 it made me think. And to me, that's a win. Kevin, it's been a wonderful interview. Thank you so much for coming on the show. The final question is always the same. What's the one thing we're not talking about that we really should be? I'm going to do something current right now with this Trump thing going on. I mean, I look at like Antifa marching down the streets and BLM and they're burning up buildings and cop cars.
Starting point is 00:55:09 They're destroying. They're attacking people with pipe irons and baseball bats and they get arrested throughout the next day. And Trump's sitting there in jail, or possibly in jail, on a misdemeanor. that happened so many years ago. And I'm looking at us going, okay, why are we not more people? The people on the right don't get together. They're not as organized in their anger and hate
Starting point is 00:55:27 as they are on the left. I thought there should be a couple hundred protesters out there in front of the courtroom, but nobody's out there in front of the courtroom. And I just find it interesting. And then he goes out this weekend. He was in New Jersey, and 100,000 people show up.
Starting point is 00:55:40 Biden goes out, 50 people don't show up in front of the sky. So I'm like going, why aren't there not more people that are organized going and say, guys, this is ridiculous right now. And I even saw in CNN, I cannot remember his name. He's one of the big, big guys there in CNN. And he said, if this was anybody other than Trump,
Starting point is 00:55:57 this wouldn't even be a jury trial right now. And he's not wrong. And it's weird what's going on in America right now. We're just, where it's just the loss of freedom of speech, loss of freedom as a whole. And this whole blacklisting and going after people that you disagree with. And I'm going, you know, can't we just disagree
Starting point is 00:56:14 and have a good conversation about it? just because you yell louder and he doesn't make you right. It's a great place to end it. Thank you very much, Kevin. Thank you.
