Starting point is 00:00:23 I never watched the movie Kingdom of Heaven from 2005. Uh-huh. But, you know, you see the memes. You know, there's the meme of the king with the silver mask on. He's holding his hand up. Silence. Everybody knows that one, the silence and all that stuff. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:00:39 So I was just wondering, I was like, I don't really know what that movie is, but my cousin Peyton loves to quote from it liberally. And so I got to the bottom of it. And it's about a leper king. who ascended to the throne at age 13 and won a great military battle like three years later at age 16 and died at 24 of leprosy. Uh-huh. I was like, what a trajectory. I can see why like a lot of people, mostly chuds that are into the classics, gravitate toward that story.
Starting point is 00:01:13 Because now my Instagram feed is nothing but Israel, question mark, Palestine, question mark. neither it just shows like Jerusalem with the Georgian flags and stuff on it that's like oh yeah there is that third option it's the weird uh guy that's into Christian iconography yeah guys that like they think that like the easiest solution to that quote unquote conflict is for Christians to retake control of the holy land yeah these other these other two obviously not good stewards of it so we got retake the holy land and yeah and i don't think that like any of the crusades were really that successful like they may have held the they may have held jerusalem for like a hundred years or something if that if even uh i don't know i know the leperkinging story um but that that is all that is
Starting point is 00:02:14 something that doesn't make a ton of sense because a lot of these like all right guys like i thought they, if you're a leper king, I'm sorry, you're not really a Chad physically. I mean, I'm not, I'm not saying that he wasn't the Chad. It's that he showed great bravery despite his physical setbacks, you know. I don't think he was actually fighting in war. No, he was like this. He said in a chair. Yeah, he sat in a chair, you know.
Starting point is 00:02:40 I guess occasionally rode a horse, you know, and talked to some guys. He's like a drone operator. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He sat in a nice chair. and he said silence and he said silence here's what we're actually going to do but it got me thinking
Starting point is 00:02:55 it got me thinking well other than just the whole dimension about the chads and stuff like that it's just this the reason I kind of got interested this guy went to high school was really into that movie and he would all the time post stuff on Instagram about himself being a Christian warrior yeah you know but like and he would like visit
Starting point is 00:03:11 the Holy Land but not in like an evangelical way there's another way that Christians visit the Holy Land you know what I mean You know, this type of guy? I think you showed this literal guy to me. Yeah, yeah. Like, he would show himself like deadlifting, like, 800 pounds, but he'd be wearing a plague mask while he was deadlifting.
Starting point is 00:03:29 And hashtag Christian soldier or Christian warrior or something like that. Which is an impressive deadlift. For sure. It wasn't 800 pounds. It was a lot. But, you know, I forget about the guys that are really drawn to, like, the Arcana. an iconography of Christianity in such a way that they're like
Starting point is 00:03:50 they just come right back around to being sort of like Western chauvinists. The Crusades were not about theology really. They weren't about like civilizational conflict. They were once they got started,
Starting point is 00:04:06 but they were genuinely, they grew out of this problem, which was that you had a ton of lazy, fat-ass knights hanging around. they had nothing to do and tons of weapons and they were just causing a bunch of trouble
Starting point is 00:04:21 it would be like... Not dissimilar to the cops today. No, it's very similar to the cops. It's very similar. They got more weapons than like isn't necessary even if you believe in policing. Yeah, you had a surplus
Starting point is 00:04:36 of monster energy drinkers. Like the equivalent of monster energy drinkers back then, but they were armed to the teeth. They had nothing to do. They had even less of a job than cops.
Starting point is 00:04:52 You know what I'm saying? Like their job was basically to sit around and wait for war. So basically like the... So you can imagine if they didn't have much to do, a leper king surely couldn't have had much to do. No. Sit around and wait to die, I guess. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:05:07 But then you see how like ideology gets created? Yeah, yeah. A political economic problem, what starts as a political economic problem. which is like you've got this surplus population. Yeah, like it's the surplus population. It's like leftover from, exactly, it's like leftover from ancient times. Like I guess it depends on your interpretation of like what the knights were.
Starting point is 00:05:30 But there is. I thought you were going to take this in the Knights Templar. We're going to get into the Masonic dimension of this. I think the Knights Templar were they, I don't really know. Were they also lumping soldiers? I think so. I think it ain't. knights were lump and sold. Knights were lumpen soldier. If you were in the crusades,
Starting point is 00:05:51 like, that wasn't your profession. It was just like what you kind of did because there wasn't nothing else to do in the desert in 1008. Well, right, because like the knights were probably a remnant. They were like a vestigial organ of ancient society. I think they grew out of the equestrian class from ancient society. And so by the time you get to like medieval times, they don't have, like their social function and role is no longer there. Like, you don't need them anymore. It's not well it's kind of like cowboys today I guess. Well right because um it's kind of at a certain point it's like staying in it is just kind of
Starting point is 00:06:28 theater. Yeah. You know? Yeah, that's true. It's because like what had happened and I'm not an expert out about this and I'm only like, I only know like the sort of bare bones of it. But like feudalism essentially rose. It arose for several reasons.
Starting point is 00:06:46 But I'm pretty sure. it had to do with the evolution or the devolution of the Roman tax system. And in order to secure more tax revenues, they had to start literally tying human beings to the land. And so then that's how you get the development of serfdom. And out of that, you start to get more walled estates and cap. and, you know, that more garrison type society organized along more like garrison lines, which was kind of ironic because by that time you've got the assimilation of all the barbaric tribes
Starting point is 00:07:31 into, you know, European, quote unquote, like the concept of Europe didn't even exist until like the fucking 17 or 1800s or even maybe the 20th century, honestly. It's like very one of those things, like the concept of Europe was not something that's been around. It's only a very recent idea. Yeah. I was talking to somebody similarly about, they were talking to me about, all the crazy things that have happened on April 20th
Starting point is 00:08:01 throughout the ages. Oh, yeah. Like I'm like, why, like, what's the origin of like stoner's, like, you know, embracing that as like the holiday or whatever? And it's like, Hitler's birthday. The Oklahoma City bombing, Hitler's birthday, the final standoff between the birthday, Branch Davidians, an ATF.
Starting point is 00:08:19 Yeah. You know, there's like been a bunch of things happened around that time. And they sent me this Reddit post about like, it was like Satanus celebrating the ancient
Starting point is 00:08:33 sacrifice of the beast. And I was like, well, let me just go ahead and tell you right now that this is a tale that this is a tale that this is Epic Bacon and somebody that doesn't know their scripture because Satan really wasn't worshipped. That was kind of an invention of the church in like the 1700s you know what I mean
Starting point is 00:08:48 Satan wasn't really I have a question was the Satan lore is that even in the Bible about him being a fallen angel that's not in the Bible I was always going to say all that stuff is sort of apocrypha all that's fanfic it's Catholic
Starting point is 00:09:01 fanfic we talked about this before like you were bored as fuck in the middle ages he was like let's just like let's write some fanfic yeah it's like one of those like French guys did all that
Starting point is 00:09:11 like demonology stuff like the hierarchies of hell it's like that's all basically Tolkien There was no concept of Satan worship in the first century. Like, Satan also, too, was a minor figure until, like, the New Testament. Like in the Old Testament, he's kind of just a little trickster, a stumbling block of the scriptures of. Guys, like Origin thought that Satan could eventually be saved.
Starting point is 00:09:38 Interesting. They thought that, like, universal salvation meant literally universal salvation. That, like, anybody and anything can come to see. Jesus is, you know, salvation and light. And that even Satan was one of them. Yeah, that's an interesting. I wonder how many times we've been wrong just in the first, what is this, nine minutes?
Starting point is 00:10:02 I think we're pretty right. I want to say, if you're interested in the thing I was talking about, there's a book, this guy just died, RIP, one of the great Marxist ancient historians, Chris Wickham. He just died, I think, just like last week. But he's got a book called the inheritance of Rome. And it's about like the transition out of ancient society into feudal society. Like the year is 400 to 900.
Starting point is 00:10:30 Yeah. Yeah. Well, I didn't mean to pull that thread so hard. I thought I could open about 12 tabs. What I was really wanted to get to. I had a lot of stuff I want to talk about too, dude. I have a lot of tabs too, bro. So let's just keep it moving, dog.
Starting point is 00:10:45 Well, the thing that I really want to talk about is getting back to just basics. Why in the hell they used to let kings ascend to the throne at like eight years old and shit? Oh. Is that just line of succession stuff? Line of succession, yeah. They should have had some, you know,
Starting point is 00:11:02 everybody lobbies for like term limits for like senators and congressmen and stuff. We should have had some age limits in place, I feel like. Well, a lot of the times those kings were, I mean, it's not dissimilar to what's going on in the United States right now. Like, you'd have like a, what is it, like a regent? Isn't that the word? For like someone who's basically rules in place of the king because he's too...
Starting point is 00:11:26 The king regent because he's, yeah, can't make his own decisions because he's still pissing himself or whatever. Or if he's too inbred, he's like literally like can't even... Carlos is the unfortunate. A lump of flesh and blood and muscle. Like, not any brain activity. Yeah. You know, it's causing problems for many of European nations, that same sort of thing.
Starting point is 00:11:48 It's also why the Spanish have a Lisp, I'm told. Because of N-breeding? No, because Carlos the unfortunate's like deformities. He like, it could be, again, that could be apocryphal for sure. But like the Bartholona, like the Spanish Lisp, apparently is a vestigial organ of his disability making its way into the language. Interesting. very interesting
Starting point is 00:12:13 again I don't know if that's true or not but I have been told that well I mean monarchy was what again like if I had to like take a few stabs at it the political and cultural situation in medieval times was inherently unstable
Starting point is 00:12:31 and monarchy probably provided the best political system for that because you didn't have like slave society proper. I don't know, man. It's weird. It's why you had like a mix of democracy
Starting point is 00:12:46 and oligarchy in the ancient world. I mean, Plato said that Rome was like the, you know, I think Plato said this. Some shit, some Greek said this.
Starting point is 00:12:59 One of those guys. That like Rome was the perfect mixture of democracy, oligarchy, and, like, a monarchy, I guess. It just, you can see
Starting point is 00:13:09 why, like, such, animus for the ruling classes has just been like brewing beneath the surface and you know culminating in Marx obviously right and you know his stuff but like can you imagine just sitting there stewing
Starting point is 00:13:23 for ages about like some dumbass kid being on the throne and like why are we subject to the whims of this fucking infantile yeah what's worse man like so demoralizing you think about it like imagine you're like this like guy that's like fought in battle or something not that I'm like trying to
Starting point is 00:13:41 as those guys because as we know, they're basically under-employed cops, as we've established. But like, could you imagine like just sticking your neck out for wherever the fuck you're from, only to just like, well,
Starting point is 00:13:55 actually, I'm like only to have actually have everything fucked up because the whims of some fucking dumb-ass child. Again, not too dissimilar to Trump, not to be like too libel about it, but like it is a civil. Trump does have an eight-year-old terrible
Starting point is 00:14:11 King energy. The thing is, is that if you're successful, you at least got lands out of it. Right. And some serfs. Yeah. And stuff like that. And nothing else.
Starting point is 00:14:26 Speaking of that, there's another No Kingsprudest this weekend, I guess. They're still doing that. They're still doing it, I guess. I didn't even know until I opened the New York Times and they were advertising it. I'm going to print off a big picture of the king bald one from kingdom of heaven
Starting point is 00:14:44 I was actually one king who are some kings throughout history who get to stay who were like tight there was the one Dutch king that rode the horse was pretty benevolent I forget his name though who are those dude Dutch guys that got hung upside down and there was like a painting
Starting point is 00:15:02 made about them and it's because they they essentially fuck no I think this is like in the 1600s maybe it's like they two
Starting point is 00:15:16 Dutchmen it's like their version of Sacco and Van Zetti or not quite that admirable no they were they were really bad leaders and they kind of like led the Netherlands
Starting point is 00:15:32 corpses of the DeWitt brothers it's a painting by Jan de Bonn Jan de Bayan now in the Rijiks Museum in Amsterdam. It's a painting. It's a pretty badass painting.
Starting point is 00:15:47 They're like gourd essentially, like they're cut open from the stomach. And it's painted between 1672 and 1675. The two DeWitt brothers' opponents of the House of Orange had
Starting point is 00:16:02 dominated Dutch politics for some years, but they left the country unprepared for the invasion by Louis XIV of France in 1617. House of Orange. Is that why the Dutch national team wears the orange jerseys? I think the House of Orange is the...
Starting point is 00:16:16 Royal House. I mean, they're the current reigning House of... Like, no European... This is a hilarious idea when people talk shit about, like, oh, Thailand still has a king in, like, other, quote-unquote,
Starting point is 00:16:32 like, global South countries. It's like... Swaziland. Every European country still has a king except France. France is the only... one. Well, Germany didn't because they, in Italy, because they united
Starting point is 00:16:44 post the bourgeois revolutions. But like, I think France, is France the only European nation that got rid of its monarchy actually? I think I think so. Spain still has one. Portugal, all of these, Belgium, they also
Starting point is 00:17:01 have kings. France does still have a thing where you can be like a mail order monarch if you like pay some money or something though. Because that you can be like a marriage from real housewives as Dutch is the
Starting point is 00:17:16 countess and because she was married to this rich French dune who was like I guess maybe the French equivalent of like the Nigerian prince scheme thing but her
Starting point is 00:17:31 countesshood is in reality I still think I still think she's a countess but in reality she can't contested. She can't really be a countess because there's no French royalty.
Starting point is 00:17:44 Right, because the royalty sort of backstops that. That makes sense. But I guess there's maybe some sort of piece of paper you can fill out to be some, I guess kind of like being a notary public in the United States. Well, they're bringing back girls. They should make girls set in, they should do a girls that's like set in, not medieval
Starting point is 00:18:09 France, not medieval Europe. What they should do is they should have girls set in Iowa. Neolithic times. Neolithic times. Wouldn't that be pretty cool? Like girls, it's like, there's one Neanderthal and two Homo sapiens and like a
Starting point is 00:18:26 homo erectus or something. And it kind of tells the story of how this all came together in our current form. What kind of sexual exploits had to take place to give rise to homo sapiens uh-huh and like mahony gets marney gets like in some fucked up b-side plot about like a with the neanderthal who like played by adam driver of course the role marney was the one who um dated the guy who she found out he was like a heroin addict no yeah i know that i just i just think that ad i just think
Starting point is 00:19:01 that adam driver should play neanderthal oh oh interesting I like how you were like, you had to tell the audience you knew about, you knew, you were, you were in on the girl. Oh, I knew, I knew, I knew, I knew, I knew, I knew, I knew, I knew, I knew, I knew, I knew, you know girls ball. You know girls ball? I know, damn, dude. For sure. I don't really, I just watched, like, a couple seasons. I didn't finish it. I thought she were going the direction of Elena Dunham should play a leopard queen. Well, if this is in Neolithic times, at least one of them will get rabies. It's true. I think that like...
Starting point is 00:19:40 It's the HPV of the time. All adventurous women get it. Rabies. Like, Marnie got rabies from a Neanderthal guy. And they look at her and she's like in the corner. She's got bags in her eyes. She can't drink water. Yeah, she just looks like hell.
Starting point is 00:20:00 Like Marnie fucking around with the Neanderthals again. Man. You know, there is a large amount of us that have Neanderthal blood. still. About 4% of the U.S. population. I think we debunked this. Really? We debunked it on an episode.
Starting point is 00:20:18 Is that an Israeli myth when they launched 23M? Of me and Aaron, I feel like you have the worst show amnesia of the three of us. Really? Yeah, I feel like we've debunked this one, haven't we? So, Digger. I'm not saying it.
Starting point is 00:20:39 I'm not saying it. saying it in a mean way. My memory used to be like so good. I'm not eating enough fatty fish or A-L-A's. I think. Your memory's fun. Your memory's fine.
Starting point is 00:20:57 I understand. It's like when you go to a job, you kind of turn off the part of your brain that registers any memories or feelings. Yeah. There's no feelings in this game. There's no feelings in this game. This is a job for us. And so you come in and you turn off you're like, I'm not going to think about anything.
Starting point is 00:21:14 I'm not going to remember any of this. I'm not going to feel anything. If you got to get out your feelings, there ain't no money in there. It's exactly right. If I bring my feelings into this, I'm cheating the audience. Uh-huh. So. Yeah, dude.
Starting point is 00:21:28 That's why I turn it off. What about girls? What about girls? And it's the, it's the primordial ooze. And it's like when... When gender's not yet established. When gender's not... Does it make sense?
Starting point is 00:21:42 Gender's not yet established, and it's the first four girls who, like, split off from, like, the amoeba, like, they get first, they get, like, the XX chromosomes or whatever. They get, um, they're the first four girls to, uh, that you could get forever with this.
Starting point is 00:21:57 And so they, they just sweat, they have their little flagellas, and they swim around and the primar already lose. Yeah. And then Adam Driver comes over for, yes. Just Adam Driver's head on a flagellet. Lina Denham's like, I'm bringing it back girls.
Starting point is 00:22:10 People are like, yeah. And that's just, the first episode. But it's like... A fair warning, it's a little different. It's like under a microscope. On a petri dish and it's just for amoeba, like, for an hour with their like... Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:26 She's like, it's high concept stuff. It's high concept stuff. There's no script, really. There's not even dialogue because there's no talking. Oh, man. That's pretty good. I agree with mine. I say, hey, what the hell?
Starting point is 00:22:42 Let's get this like a shot in the arm. Well, if you wanted to discuss some, like, stuff today. I have a couple more hitters I've got to talk about with you. Okay, all right. Let's just do, let's do it. Let's do Tom's hitters. I like an episode of Tom's hitters. All right.
Starting point is 00:23:03 So you see this thing where everybody paid $43 to go listen to Drake's take care of vinyl in a room? I did not. But this actually, this is actually. actually works with the first thing I wanted to talk about, actually. It's perfect. Really? Well, yeah. I mean, I was going to have a segment on rock news.
Starting point is 00:23:21 Rock and roll news. Okay. There's a lot of rock and roll news lately. Anyways, but this is kind of adjacent. This is more music in the broader. Broader. Brotter sense. But this, yeah, anyways, I'm sorry to interrupt you.
Starting point is 00:23:36 Did you know that there's places monetizing just normal things that you do? and people like kind of like viewing it as an experience. Interesting. So like you pay to go listen to Jake's, Jake, Drake, Drake's new album? No, not even his new album, take care. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
Starting point is 00:23:59 It's an old album? Yeah, take care, a second album. Right, right. So you go to pay, you pay to go listen. You go, you pay $43 to go to a room and listen to that album on Vidal. It's a album. Entirety, excuse me.
Starting point is 00:24:15 And there's people like vibing hard. There were people like doing the whole, you know, you've just had this experience. If you go anywhere in public, somebody hold up the phone just kind of get the little sweeping, you know, shot of the room, you know? And it's on,
Starting point is 00:24:29 and what's the novelty that it's on vinyl and you're listening with other people? I guess. I mean, I've heard of people like doing these like listening rooms with these like, you know, these hi-fi setups and stuff. like that and like people come and curating
Starting point is 00:24:42 playlist and stuff. That seems like a more useful function of that. I'm not sure that listening to Drake's take care on an audio technica turntable in a room with a lot of glass windows with 100
Starting point is 00:24:58 other people and paying $43 really counts as not being critical of that. I'm glad people are finding community. However it's going to happen. You can be critical of it, Tom. Think so? Yeah, you can be critical of it. Well, I have to say when I saw it, I couldn't stop laughing.
Starting point is 00:25:16 And I've probably done dumber stuff. Now, what I pay $43 to go to a room full of strangers and list of Masterpiece Ghetto Dope on vinyl. Uh-huh. Probably. They had a T-shirt associated with him. Uh-huh. But my problem with this is that like,
Starting point is 00:25:36 unless they've got the vinyl, unless you've got the record player itself on like hydraulic some sort of like hydraulic press system like you can't dance in that room if you make the floor shake no everybody was sitting down just nodding their head to it and it was two guys sitting on either side of the turntable nodding their head to it
Starting point is 00:25:54 so you can't dance right a group of strangers went to a room paid $43 to listen to Drake's take care on vinyl well what's more ignoble okay this this actually is perfect for my i wanted to get your thoughts on this because like you know you're the only guy i know who i can talk to you about classic rock anymore no one wants to talk about classic rock no rock guys anymore i try to talk about classic rock to everybody but no one wants to i tell you something i love i love rock i know you do i know you do i know you
Starting point is 00:26:34 love rock and roll. And so I'm asking, like, what is it more ignoble existence? Sitting in a room, paying $43 to sit in a room to listen to Drake's vinyl, take care. Drake's album, Take Care on vinyl. Or being Mike Love and just sitting on stage and having John Stamos with an unplugged guitar, play guitar to you as if he's playing the guitar, but he's not. I see what your point is. We're being too hard on the drink people. There's Beach Boy fans that are paid way more money to go see that shit. Yeah, that's really bottom of the barrel, honestly. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:20 Also, like, here's what I don't understand about the My Club Beach Boys thing. Why did the most loathsome Beach Boy get to keep the IP? Brian Wilson before he died, just like just not want to fuck with it? or? Well, from what I understand, this is all gleaned from that Brian Wilson biopic. Like, I'm pretty sure Brian Wilson
Starting point is 00:27:41 got, like, badly manipulated and, um, fucked over in the 70s. So he probably, like, signed away all of his IP rights there. And also,
Starting point is 00:27:52 like, unfortunately in the world we live in, the bigger piece of shit you are, the more successful you are. So with Mike Love, he's clearly a piece of shit. And so he probably had no scruples fucking over the rest of his bandmates, right?
Starting point is 00:28:06 Yeah. I don't know. I'm just, that's my congestion. It's just like, I've just noticed this because, you know, as you know, and as I've talked about before, I used to be in the business of running a venue. And frequently what we would have happen is we would have the skeletal remnants of a once popular band come to play at Summit City. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:31 But it would be under like a different iteration. It's like a, is it Theseus' ship kind of thing? We talked about this, right? I think they're talking about this on time crisis. Like how some bands like start as this. So we got to it before us. And then over time, like the band just becomes like a whole new thing, even though they're playing those songs because none of the original members exist.
Starting point is 00:28:54 The Grateful Dead is like headed toward this direction with like Dad and Co. Well, I think they are there. I don't think there don't think there's any After the death of Bob Weir I don't think there's any But as I think Is he the last original dead member? I thought so
Starting point is 00:29:09 Wait a second Who are we leaving now? I feel like there's It's like some guy we've never heard of His name is like John Jinfman John Jinfant
Starting point is 00:29:23 Let's see What the fuck is John Jifth He's like their tambourine player He like joined in 1969 Oh Mickey Hart still in Danco. So there is... Mickey,
Starting point is 00:29:33 I think he's the listen Trilley's a listener. Mickey Hart. Yeah, I think so. Damn. The drummer? Yeah, yeah, yeah. The drummer.
Starting point is 00:29:42 Yeah, yeah, yeah. But he doesn't play with him anymore. I thought he did. There's no way. You can't play drum. I can barely play drums. I'm almost 40 and I can already start feeling the fucking arthritis.
Starting point is 00:29:55 83? Well, maybe. I don't know. Anyway, point being is, you know, sometimes you'll get these projects that pop up and it's like, you know, one guy that used to be like a member. And then another guy that was like sort of a... You're right, by the way. He does still play with the Deadenco. I thought he did.
Starting point is 00:30:18 I thought he did. Don't let me bully. Don't let me bully you into backing down on your convictions, dude. I didn't know for sure. But I thought, I thought Mickey Hart was still in Deaden Co. anyway I just I'm curious how it happens like do you just sit down and arbitrate that
Starting point is 00:30:35 or is it like and why does the biggest asshole or the most least liked member of the band not to say that Bob Weir and Mickey Harder to that I'm not I'm excluding Daytonko from this but With me every member of the dead is the least liked
Starting point is 00:30:48 in fact I like Jerry the most because he checked out earliest he's like I'm he's like against the dad against dog is there another fandom you want to take a swipe hat that's that'll come for you in droves uh yes
Starting point is 00:31:08 metallica well they they deserve it lately that's what i was going to bring up is my rock news i'm sorry to hijack tim tom's hitters but like we'll get back to tom's no no no no no no all i have was drake as far as this thing goes i got a couple more things i thought so right i've just taking a little detour because There's some rock news. Like, Metallica said,
Starting point is 00:31:31 um, Metallica is not here like some other entertainers to influence you with their bullshit. And then, Nikki Six from Motley Crew joined Metallica and said, Motley Crew doesn't care about your politics. So. Here's the thing, Nick is,
Starting point is 00:31:49 uh, you know, I'm not sure there's anybody that's, uh, you know, um, not a 47 real bar fly that, cares about motley crew anymore
Starting point is 00:31:59 or 57 year old bar fly for that matter he looks like shit dude those guys there's nothing speaking of rockin there's nothing more unbecoming than like a guy that was in a popular band that comes out and just like thinks there's something novel about like sidestepping politics altogether like for all the
Starting point is 00:32:22 Neil Young's like coo like I can fuck with like the old lives like Neil Young that might take a shot and miss every once in a while. But I can't abide the, like, the James Hettfields and Nikki Six is like, you guys are like fucking bloated corpses of your former selves out here talking about, like, we should bring politics into rock and roll, at least not at the Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas residency. What they mean is they come to Vegas for politics.
Starting point is 00:32:53 What they mean is the justice system should not look into the, the many allegations and accusations. made against him. Which is all politically motivated, I'm sure. Well, yeah, dude. I mean, that is kind of the thing. Like, a lot of people, like, remember when people thought that the Chester Bennington guy was killed? Lincoln Park, yeah. Yeah, for speaking out about something.
Starting point is 00:33:22 I don't know. Any time a band guy. Lincoln Park was, was rumored to have, they got him with the, With the, well, I guess they just hit him with the death. A Havana gun. They got him with the Van Havanaugh. Havanaugh for speaking truth of power. There's a lot of rock guys who get this.
Starting point is 00:33:37 Who was the guy that was Soundgarden and slave master? Tom Morel, audio slave. It's slave master, yeah. Chris Cornell. What is it, Chris Cornell? Pick up that stone boy. Or I'll whip you. Is that what the lyric was?
Starting point is 00:33:57 That is the name. Tom Marello was an audio slave. I don't know he was doing slavery songs. I like master slave, slave was, um, southern audio slave. So it's like southern themed audio slave songs. Shelby Foote short-lived. Southern rock project. Southern rock, uh, a grunge project.
Starting point is 00:34:23 I don't know. What were audio slave songs? There was like a stone, which that one's pretty easy, right? Right. Get the horses and saddle them up. to the carriage will tear up, tear them up on the stones. Audio slave songs. There was be yourself.
Starting point is 00:34:45 Oh, I am the highway. I am the highway? Yeah. You see Tom Rello really stepped in it this week saying that he didn't. He most certainly did not vote for Kamala Harris. I did see that. The lives were mad at him. They said, how can you actually,
Starting point is 00:35:03 be out here raging against the machine if you didn't vote for Kamala Harris. Uh-huh. They brought his rage credentials into question. The slave master's version would be, build the highway. No, I got to put that one vacuum in the oven.
Starting point is 00:35:24 It'll stick out back in there for a little bit. Yeah, they were pissed at them. They were really mad. Well, that's another thing in my rock news newsletter. I'm going to start a news later. I'm going to start a classic. I don't call rock news. I just got rock news. Rock news.
Starting point is 00:35:41 Just a couple of headlines from the rock world. Uh-huh. What else do we have there? Is there a member of Metallica that's not an asshole? Is Kirk Mamet? Is he a nice guy at least? He's got great hair. I think he was like the only one that didn't cut his hair, right?
Starting point is 00:36:02 Or am I thinking of? He's still got his. long hair. He might have cut it in the 90s and grew it back out though. It's like when a tree gets cut down. Like I need to see Kirk's, like the tree rings inside Kirk's hair to know. Is his old growth hair? Is this old growth hair? Did you cut your head in the 90s, Kirk? Yeah. He's definitely the most, he's definitely the least annoying. You know, fucking Dave Mustaine is annoying and he's not even in Metallica anymore
Starting point is 00:36:39 he's in Megadeth wasn't yeah well he started Is he ever in Metallica? Yeah he was in Metallica he was the lead guitarist of Metallica I didn't know that so he left he left Metallica
Starting point is 00:36:51 to start Megadette yeah you should look up a picture because they wouldn't let him wear like high top basketball shoes they're like man that's not rock and roll uh huh he now identifies as a born again Christian dude that is so fucking lame
Starting point is 00:37:04 is there going to be like a a metal guy's Christian supergroups like they maybe this already exists like Dave Mustaine the one guy from corn oh is a corn guy he's a Christian yeah yeah I think head Brian head Welch or it's monkey a Christian are they both Christians if he he does kind of look like a Christian dude the witness of Christ destroyed corn I think you're Right. Well, a lot of these guys, oh, yeah, you're right. He is a Christian now.
Starting point is 00:37:43 A lot of these guys, it's one of those things, like, they got sober. And so it's like, okay, someone who was once a Christian and who also got sober, I kind of view the... As somebody that had Brian Head Welch's exact trajectory. I kind of view that... Except my band's cabbage was far less successful than corn. I kind of view the Born-A-Gron Christian thing. Like, the sober-come-born-again Christian pipeline is like a little. It's like, that doesn't count, man, come on.
Starting point is 00:38:10 Well, the funny thing about it now, I think, is like, okay, so when we were growing up, like, to stay a secular artist was a big no-no, but now I feel like there's no, like, conflict with that. Oh, you know what, though? Okay. My boy Brian Welch, I'm so sorry for talking shit about you, dude. Welch has shown compassion for the LGBT community in 2016 after receiving backlash by some Christian fans for praying for a transgender fan who asked for their prayers.
Starting point is 00:38:42 He wrote a Facebook post criticizing the judgmental nature of certain Christians and encouraged them to open their hearts. Dude. Head, hey, I love head. Yeah, I'm sorry for talking shit on you, bro. That's solid. Does he support a free Palestine? It does not say.
Starting point is 00:38:57 Okay. It does not say. But he does do charity work with Sonny Sandoval from POD. Hey, those guys were... I've been so alive. I told Steve Slagascar, I'm going to start a rumor on the internet that Pupp stands for Payable Upon Perishing. They're actually Christian Bann.
Starting point is 00:39:21 Say that was that POD? Was that payable on death? Payable on death, yeah. Dude, there was some... Oh, this is more rock news. You know that banned Fontaine's D.C.? Yeah, I love those guys. Jewish leaders urge Fontaine's D.C.
Starting point is 00:39:48 to call off Heaton Park concert by that synagogue that was like, dude, I don't know, Israel definitely did a false flag at last year. But, like, their whole thing for why the show needs to be called off is that it's happening on the Sabbath. It's like, dude, I think a lot of... You're murdering families on the Sabbath last four goddamn years. I don't want to hear that bullshit. Yeah, like I think a lot of rock shows happen on Saturdays, man.
Starting point is 00:40:16 Yeah, I'm sorry. Yeah. Actually, that's the day that God set aside to rock. That is true. Said on the sixth day, he said, God said, let there be rock. So. Isn't that an ACDC album? Probably.
Starting point is 00:40:35 That's the type. I love every ACDC. was just about how hard they rock. Uh-huh. And they don't really rock that hard. It's kind of the joke. Oh, you're crazy if you think it's... Well, they rock.
Starting point is 00:40:46 I'm not saying they don't rock that hard. You think ACDC doesn't fucking rock. You're crazy. I mean, they rock, but I wouldn't say they, like, rock that hard. Oh, stop, sign! It's a pretty good amount of rock. I think it's... I'll go ahead and say it on this program.
Starting point is 00:41:02 ACDC's best rock and roll band. Okay. Have you ever had your cock rocked off by this? Have you, has your cock remained intact? I want you to go back to the first time you ever heard. Hales, bells, thunderstruck, shook me all night long. I do like that thunderstruck. It's a long way to the top if you want to rock and roll.
Starting point is 00:41:21 Oh, I like that. More pernicious anti-Australian bias on your part. All right. It started with the Hannah Gadsby Parodies. Now you're saying ACDC doesn't run. Rock. That's their whole thing. That's their whole thing.
Starting point is 00:41:44 I guess I'm sorry. I'm sorry for committing crimes against... Is that what ACDC stands for? I didn't even... After Christ devil comes. Oh, after Christ. Did you ever hear that? Uh-huh.
Starting point is 00:42:00 I do. Did you know what Kiss stands for? Something probably Zionist-related? It goes back to the Crusades. Knights in Satan's service. Night in Satan service. The lamest band in the world. Kiss.
Starting point is 00:42:18 Yeah, Kiss had one good out. Destroyer, I think. They sucked ass. Yeah, speaking of Israel, fucking a Washington Post journalist got attacked by settlers today. And when you know what the Washington Post was like,
Starting point is 00:42:36 please can Israel, please just do its own investigation of the incident. in question please? And in response, we demand that Israel's internal fascist mechanisms go to work and setting justice in this manner. Uh-huh.
Starting point is 00:42:53 Can they please do it, please? Please, please. What? What? No, you go ahead. You go ahead. No, you go ahead. I was getting ready to take a hard detour,
Starting point is 00:43:08 but it seemed to maybe a little premature. No, we could. Dude, we can do whatever we want. It's Friday. Did you see the news that Sally Rooney's books are banned in the UK under the anti-terrorism laws? I'm glad you brought that up. I literally was on my list to talk about. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:29 I had the article pulled up, but maybe I closed it on accident. I guess I did. But yes, I did see that. I thought that was astonishing. I mean, you know. That's like if you bang John Grisham or something under like your, because of those weird comments he made about child porn a few years ago. No, no, totally different.
Starting point is 00:43:54 I'm sorry, that's like a, that was poor attempted humor. But you know what I'm saying? It's like, it's like, Sally Rooney's a big dog. Yeah. Well, this is what I've been saying. You're like, yeah, yeah, yeah. Sold a lot of books. Is this really what we want to do?
Starting point is 00:44:16 I mean, genuinely, like, I'm seriously, because I'm thinking about this, at the same time that I'm thinking about this Maldani thing and Jessica Tisch in my PD commissioner, like, is this really what we want to do? The road we want to go now. Like, yeah, I mean, the Sally Rooney thing is just genuinely astonishing, but, like,
Starting point is 00:44:40 has there been more, has there ever, ever been more validation of the observation we made all the way back in 2024 that Palestine will be the central contradiction of every Western democracy. That like, and this kind of bears out the best example you're going to find is Mom Donnie. Like, I guess in a lot of people's calculation, like, if he wants to get his program done, get the things he wants to pass, do what he wants to do, he has to play ball with, like, Albany with like Governor Hockel and that means keeping Jessica Tish in place and and and cowtowing to the pro-Israel lobby in in New York and creating this anti-Semitism task force and
Starting point is 00:45:28 you know all these other things yeah and it kind of is just a perfect example of how like if you cannot if you are not willing to take on the Zionist lobby like you're not willing to take on the Zionist lobby like Your entire agenda will start to become, it'll start to become hampered. It'll become unraveled, right, taken down piece by piece. And that's also what I was thinking, like reading that thing about Sally Rooney. Like, is this really, do you really want to, like, shred any last ounce of, you know, in this case, it'd be, like, freedom of speech. And I know freedom of speech in Europe isn't quite the same as it is here in America. like they've already had some weird questionable stuff on that but like just i don't know man like banning books
Starting point is 00:46:16 because you disagree with genus because i mean well in the publisher's case or the media's case is because they either are genocide deniers or they think the genocide is good but it's just fucking mind-blowing it's also weird the links at which they're like willing to just cut their own throat for the sake of it that's what's kind of that's what's kind of like weird to make Like, you know, was a time when these capitalists were like, well, I don't give a shit. She's moving units, you know what I mean? Yeah. Now it's like, like, cut their nose off to spot their face or whatever, you know.
Starting point is 00:46:49 Or maybe I'm kind of getting that a little mixed up. Maybe it's the UK's anti-terrorism laws that the publishers are having to kow to. But I don't know. It is really wild. Like in an era we're already very, it's already really tough out there for writers. and publishers, just selling books. Just that like this is, I don't know. You're not ready to take up your mantle of sci-fi writer.
Starting point is 00:47:18 It's so hard out here. Who is? You. Me? Yeah. I'm not a sci-fi writer, bro. Okay. I mean, I've toyed with the idea.
Starting point is 00:47:29 You've played with the genre. You've dabbled in the genre. Dabbled. I always like that one, like a serious director does a horror movie. like he's playing with the genre. It's like, come on. That was like a thing this week. That was like a something I saw.
Starting point is 00:47:49 People were like, Cormant McCarthy wrote a Western. Dave Foster Wallace wrote sci-fi. Like, it's time to admit genre is high bro. I don't think I'd call Blood Maridian a Western. Blood Maridian is sci-fi. And Blood Marinerian is a little little sci-fi.
Starting point is 00:48:04 Yeah, it's genuinely fucking terrifying. But anyways, I, uh, yeah, just, just, just, just mind blowing. I don't know. Just fucking crazy. Well, it's also, too, it's like, uh, between them trying to put the cuntins, D.C. And now Sally Rooney, what's, what's their, what's their, what's their, why are they trying to stem the tide of the green wave? The green wave?
Starting point is 00:48:30 What's the, what's green? The Irish way. Oh. That's true. Yeah. Well, because Ireland is. Trying to step on all of our cultural products. Uh-huh.
Starting point is 00:48:42 It is a cancer, man. Zionism. It is genuinely a cancer. And it's like, like I've said, like we've pointed out, unless you're genuinely willing, and I don't know. I don't live in New York. So there's several, I'm removed from this by several layers. Like, I don't know internal New York politics.
Starting point is 00:49:02 I don't know internal New York City politics. There's a lot of shit that I don't know. But it seems to me. me from what I've read and what I've heard that like Jessica Tish doesn't have shooters it seems like a pretty easy scalp though
Starting point is 00:49:19 well yeah well no the lumping cops of the NYPD well right but no but does she though that's what I'm asking I know what you're saying I'm just making it I'm just making it literally I don't she was never a cop she was as far as I know she's just her family's name is on like art museums
Starting point is 00:49:38 Yeah, no, she basically got her dad To get her some like homeland job You know, like the show The TV show Homeland Some Zero Dark 30 job Because like, you know Like black-siding people And then she's just like
Starting point is 00:49:53 Oh, I'll just matriculate to the NYPD now It's complete commissioning She worked I think what was probably happening Was she got her dad to get her job At the NYPD Counterterrorism Unit Thinking it would probably take her to The State Department and CIA and whatnot onward
Starting point is 00:50:08 but then who knows, like she's incompetent moron, so she probably just got bogged down in internal, like, NYC politics. Not to say that, like, if you're in NYC politics, you're an incompetent moron. But you know what I mean? For somebody like that,
Starting point is 00:50:21 like they probably couldn't get out and make it to the beltway. Yeah, yeah, totally. So they had to get boxed into... Yeah. Just make... Yeah, basically had to be given make-work jobs in New York City.
Starting point is 00:50:35 Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's probably harder to get a make-work job at the CIA or the FBI or whatever. I would surmise they have slightly higher standards. Well, right. Like they, for example, will now... They relax their standards, though. The FBI will hire you if you've had sex with a dog, so...
Starting point is 00:50:55 And that's true. That is a departure from the old policy, that's for sure. So Jessica Tisch could get hired at the FBI now. Yeah. Uh-huh. What else is on Tom's hitters? We're going to talk about COVID? I didn't have that on there.
Starting point is 00:51:13 I had, here's the ones that I have left over. Okay. You can pick your own direction here. Digger discourse, Elon's flying car, and bus driver loses discrimination case over shitting himself. It was a her. Yeah. Her.
Starting point is 00:51:32 Yeah. I assume she was shitting himself. It was a dude. I'm sorry. I thought that was fucked up as someone with IBM. like everyone laughed it's like come on. I'm not having a good time. You think I like being on this bus
Starting point is 00:51:44 with my diaper pool? Yeah you think I like shitting myself. All these kids and chaperones just like pointing at me. I'm not having a good time here. No, I'm not having a good time at all. But in order to like get fired for like farting I mean you had to fucking like
Starting point is 00:52:01 Dave Matthews in Chicago that fucking driver seat. I just don't understand why it's, yeah, that's a mildly unpleasant thing. We'll just, you know, but everybody does it. I don't think that she, I don't think she shit. Yeah, she actually just fart. Like, no poop came out. Oh, man.
Starting point is 00:52:22 Like, it was just a really bad fart. She should hire me as her attorney. That's her attorney. Yeah, I'd have made her a wealthy woman. I'd have, there wouldn't be a dry in the house. Uh-huh. After I got to tell them what she went through. Well, anyway, there was that thing.
Starting point is 00:52:41 You give an impassioned plea to the court like your Tom Cruise and all the presidents. Or Tom Cruise and Digger. Uh-huh. I have to avoid Digger discourse because I've not seen it. Okay. And probably won't any time. Well, I thought it's part of Rock News that you would have highlighted that Neil Young called it the greatest film in American Cinema. I did see that, yeah
Starting point is 00:53:08 Is that, did that end up being real? It seemed like it might have been dubiously sourced, but apparently some people sound's real. I bet Neil liked it. I could see him. Neil Young Strikesby is one of the old heads that would have hung out at Sierra Club
Starting point is 00:53:25 when I was there. Yeah. He would have called, like, Mountain Top Removal, the Rape of the Mountains, and everybody would go, oh. Like that type of old liberal that just won't use another metaphor. Uh-huh.
Starting point is 00:53:38 Or who would talk about hillbillies like they're an indigenous tribe, indigenous to Native America? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Like the what, like the, yeah. Yeah. The, yeah, the indigenous hillbilly. Yeah, I would, I have a feeling that, like,
Starting point is 00:53:59 yeah, Nils the type of guy who would probably piss me off a lot but you can't deny his talent no no I mean hey that listen you can you can have the worst takes in the world if you
Starting point is 00:54:16 you know rode on the beach I love Neil Young man as far as I'm concerned so anyway you go watch Digger and then we'll we'll get this in the next edition of rock news is it a musical
Starting point is 00:54:30 what is it got music involved Not particularly I'll probably watch it I'll probably like it And then I'll probably have to pretend like I don't like it So let's just we already Let's just get it out of the way, okay You can't have
Starting point is 00:54:48 Yeah we can't have a straight opinion Because as you said As you said on the aborted episode yesterday You'd be like that guy from the R. Crumb pain Just walk around like Man that was a good time of the movies And everybody's throwing tomatoes at you You stupid bastard
Starting point is 00:55:02 That's how I feel about every one of these Big movies that comes out That's like overhyped Highbrow Highbrow overhyped Good Not a masterpiece But like a good
Starting point is 00:55:16 Solid movie that if it came out in the 90s or 2000s Like you'd be like That's a good solid movie Yeah I just watched a movie You know that when you watch the movie You're like man I just watched a movie I just watched a movie
Starting point is 00:55:27 And it's good Like But I But you, at this point, like, everything's meta-discourse, man. Yeah. It's like, I'm telling you, the older I get, I become more and more of an absolute authoritarian, man. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:45 Like, we have got to ban the internet. We've got to. We have to. How kids find out that ACDC stands for after Christ the devil comes if we ban the internet? Well, we found that out when we were kids. and we didn't have the internet. Well, we did have it, but it wasn't, you know, like it wasn't like it is now.
Starting point is 00:56:05 Yeah. One of the things that I hate so much about the internet is, it has made everybody think, and this is an anti-democratic opinion, but I've accepted it. I am not a Democrat small D. I do not believe in democracy. I do not believe in political equality.
Starting point is 00:56:26 I believe in economic redistribution and equity in these things. But no. I'm an authoritarian. You're a small D dictator. I am a small D. God his ass. That's me.
Starting point is 00:56:40 I'm a small D dictator. I We got, we've got a ban it. We've got to ban it. One of the things I hate so much about it, though, is it like, it's transformed,
Starting point is 00:56:53 it's made idiots think they're smart. Like, that's really what I hate so much about it. Like, 100 years ago, 500 years ago, If you were just a fucking slobbering moron, you just knew you were, and that was it. You're just like, no, whatever.
Starting point is 00:57:07 I'm just a simple man, and I read my Bible, I'm a country boy, and I just go to church, and I come home. It ain't much, but it's honest. It ain't much, but it's honest, and that's it. You had no pretensions, you had no higher ambitions or anything, but now it's made everybody think that because they have access to just infinite knowledge and information, in their pockets at all times,
Starting point is 00:57:32 that they can be the next fucking, I don't know, who's a smart guy? Neil Young. The next brain genius. Neil Young. You know, it used to be the case if a man wanted to make a bid to be an intellect, taking seriously,
Starting point is 00:57:52 you'd have to go probably to some cave somewhere and dust off a copy of the secret teachings of the ages, Manly P. Hall or something. Something like that. I got that, you gave me that blur. And did you do, did you,
Starting point is 00:58:05 if you put it to you sir? There's good shit in it, yeah. I've thumbed through it. I've, I've, I've considered some of the dimension C explorers there. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:58:16 Now, it's kind of like we have a problem, we have like lumping brains. You know? Like we got a lot of like, podcasting used to be a jobs program for guys like us,
Starting point is 00:58:28 you know? I've counted myself among that, you know. I guess it's still kind of is, right? Yeah, I guess since it's our job. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:58:35 And we have no skills in any other area. Yeah, it's don't pan out. I'm, yeah, back to the salt mines for me. Uh-huh. Dude, it sucks, though, because, like, I was thinking about this
Starting point is 00:58:46 the other day. How do you go from the 60s and 70s, especially the 70s, where everybody's paranoid as fuck? You can't trust anybody. There's a whole litany of movies from the
Starting point is 00:58:59 70s about paranoia, Like the parallax effect and the conversation and fucking winter kills. You know, all those like paranoid noided movies from the 70s. How do you go from that to just 20 short years? Everybody is turning over every single detail about themselves to like nameless, you know, corporations. Well, you know, I open this up talking about the experience of being in a place where something rapturous happens on the TV or you're having a group experience. The first thing somebody does is holds their phone up. like just shows everybody, you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:59:32 Yeah, yeah. It's like there is no, we have abolished the concept of privacy and supplemented it with a reasonable facsimile of what it is to be a famous person. That's the tradeoff. I would say we're approaching, we've supplemented it all with a reasonable facsimile of what it is to be a human.
Starting point is 00:59:55 That's general. Like, genuinely, like, if you look at the trajectory in that light from 60s and 70s like you know paranoia about institutions paranoia about the government, paranoia about any kind of like deep state or or political machinations that happen
Starting point is 01:00:16 at a sort of like parapolitical level to go from that just like from that to the 90s and 2000s where everybody is suddenly turning everything over every little detail and piece of information about the world. willingly. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:31 Like, you see how... Well, you don't even have to go that far back. Like, I remember we've talked about this before on the show. Like, even around 9-11, that was the central inchpin of politics at this point, like with Patriot Act. It's like, well, this is this the end of privacy? And people were reasonably freaked out about that. And then they've just chipped away at that little by little to where, like, we have flock cameras now. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:51 And you see how, with that trajectory, how the Internet is just the most effective tool for counterinsurgency, ever created in human gun. Because it like naturalizes it. It naturally. Basically like it, you still retain your paranoia, but it's not like
Starting point is 01:01:14 you can actually do anything with it. So what people wind up doing is they still wind up turning every little bit of information over to themselves. Yeah. Or of themselves over. But like, did you see this story? I don't remember the, I'm not going to get the details right, but it was, um,
Starting point is 01:01:30 I need to see if I can find it. It was a story about, like, maybe it was a university, somewhere in the Midwest, maybe like Indiana, Ohio, fucking Illinois or something, where I guess like maybe the university had voted to remove flock cameras from the campus. And they, okay, here it is. When an Illinois college, okay,
Starting point is 01:01:55 a college in Illinois tried to cancel its flock contract and it refused. Flock refused to take its cameras down, so Elgin Community College covered them. The company snuck back to undo it. Like, Flock is like sending in people to... Mercenaries. Yeah, basically sending in people to, like...
Starting point is 01:02:14 I don't know, man, it has reached a point, and you're right. Like, 9-11 was weirdly enough. That's why, like, 9-11... That's why Pincham was really on to some crazy shit with Bleeding Edge. Like, 9-11 really was the event horizon by which... The surveillance tool, known as the internet, naturalized the inevitable, what wasn't inevitable, but it now seems like it at the time, the impending creep of the total surveillance state.
Starting point is 01:02:44 Does that make sense? Yeah. Because they knew, they knew, right, that, like, you couldn't just wake up on a Tuesday in 1999 and be like, we're going to start rolling out a comprehensive surveillance. network of all Americans. To do something like that, you have to get people to sign on to it.
Starting point is 01:03:06 And so what you do is you roll out like, like we've said before, like the social media, sites, messenger tools that everybody had back then AIM MSN Messenger forum boards in which people start to naturalize the creep of a total surveillance state. And then it just seems like a part of everybody's line. Everything that comes out is like a natural progression
Starting point is 01:03:28 in that direction. Yeah. Dovetelling at a time, I mean, it seems like Islamophobia is the sort of like, um, uh, jumping off point that they were able to do that. So, I was thinking about this. You know, you know, that like stupid-ass, like 2001 live account on Twitter? Oh, yeah, yeah, I know what you're wrong. But it brought up the, like, Gislay Maxwell, Ghulay Maxwell, um,
Starting point is 01:03:53 quote about how like, like, email about her imagining a world without Arabs in 30 years. I saw that, yeah. But that, you know what I mean? Like, right, and this would have been, like, right after 9-11. So it's like, it's interesting that, like, they're not interesting, it's evil, but interesting. That, like, the war on Palestine, like, all this stuff, like, of course, Israel, like, stands to benefit the most by, like, the incursion into our privacy and everything because they're the ones making all these, like, spywares for, like, Apple and all this kind of stuff. and Net Yahoo going on TV and saying that we can just get in your phone and do whatever, you know, that kind of thing, all that kind of stuff.
Starting point is 01:04:31 And even just speculation markets in general, I think polymarkets owned by an Israeli company. So who's the biggest beneficiary of our privacy being, you know, mortgage to like the worst people that ever existed, you know, Israel. Israel and you don't even have to say like just Israel, basically just the Pito class. The Pito, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, it's not even true. just Israel, but the American-Israeli-Pedo class. The American-Israeli-Pito class, right. And, like, and obviously who were they, you know, the impetus for, to put all this in place is to stoke, you know, Islamic fear and hate around 9-11 and all that kind of stuff.
Starting point is 01:05:15 And then that culminates, obviously, in the genocide and, you know, all of that. Yeah. All comes from the same point. Yeah, it is, yeah, I, you know, I don't know. I mean, there's anything else to cover today. Like, I did want to say that, like, we had covered it on the aborted episode. What I need to do is just take all of those aborted episodes and cut out the good bits and then make, like, a whole B-sides.
Starting point is 01:05:51 Super cut. Because there's some good stuff on. Here's what didn't make. it off the cutting room floor, but should have if the rest of it wouldn't have been so shit. Yeah, but um, but like I kind of wanted to just point out that
Starting point is 01:06:05 like, I was a very interesting week in terms of global politics and especially like the Ukraine-Russia war. Like Trump listed, lifting oil sanctions on Russia is, it's not getting reported in the United States you know,
Starting point is 01:06:23 like it should be. Because, like, I don't know, the way the Western press covers Russia, Ukraine is extremely bizarre in general. Like I saw this op-ed from David French in the New York Times being, like, Russia was losing. Then Trump stepped in. It's like, that's not true. Like, I don't think, I wouldn't say, I wouldn't go so far as to say Russia was winning. I mean, but Russia was not losing. The two sides have just been exchanging, like, unrelenting, like,
Starting point is 01:06:55 you know, drone strikes on each other's energy infrastructure over the last few, really over the last month. And that's why Trump has tried to call this energy ceasefire between the two. Obviously, it didn't work. Are these all fraud attempts just to win the Nobel? Honestly, they're kind of all fraud attempts to win the midterms. Yeah. To bring the price of diesel back into a reasonable, like, modicum.
Starting point is 01:07:26 You know what I mean? Like a modicum of, like, yeah, reasonableness. But it's weird, man. The lifting of sanctions on Russian oil, I don't know, man. The entire project, the entire project of the conservatives and the liberals, going back 20 years now, has been trying to, like, cut. Russia out of global energy markets, specifically with regards to Europe. And I don't know.
Starting point is 01:07:59 There's the whole Nord Stream pipeline, which nobody ever talked about again. Yeah, but there was never an investigation. No. No. No. But it is kind of a stunning reversal of that entire, like, people forget. Like, you know, because, I don't know, it's. It gets lost in the weeds now, but like,
Starting point is 01:08:22 Zelensky was a creation of Trump. Trump in 2019, like, lifted the ban on weapon cells to Ukraine that had been put in place by, like, Obama. And that's just not something that I think that a Putin stooge would be doing. Now, I guess you could, maybe a certain type of, like, live-Russia gate brain would be, like, you don't understand. It's like 4D chess from Putin. He put Trump in there so that Trump would give weapons.
Starting point is 01:08:50 to Ukraine so that there could be a war between Russia and Ukraine. I don't know, dude, it just never made any sense to me why Putin would want Trump to be president because it seems like Trump has shared the larger goal really up until about a few weeks ago. Well, I guess until about a year ago, of trying to like stop, of trying to, uh, cordon off Russian energy expansion. And so I just didn't make a ton of sense. However, what I'm trying to say here is that, like, him lifting this ban on Russian oil cells is like, or this, you know, sanction on Russian oil is very, it's desperate, man. It's like, it's a hellmer.
Starting point is 01:09:41 Did you see that, did you see that tweet that Trump made that, like, and I mentioned it a few, maybe a week or two ago, like, the frequency with which your sense. saying Trump say like everything's going to be work everything's going to work out okay like nothing bad's going to be okay because it always does because it well this week he made a straight up just like meme about it like they're turning that into the entire
Starting point is 01:10:04 motto and policy going into the midterms they're memeing Trump's self-contained belief in his own ability to manifest things yes yeah it's like that's and that's the kind of shit you really see it a cult
Starting point is 01:10:20 as it starts to unravel. Sort of descending right. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, like, when they start saying, like, trust the process, that kind of stuff. Yeah. It's... Philadelphia 76, there's many such cases.
Starting point is 01:10:33 Yeah. Yeah, no, David Koresh. Like, it's all... Yeah, I don't know. But I just wanted to point it out. I just thought it's interesting. Like, I... The reason I pointed it out was because...
Starting point is 01:10:49 Ukraine-related... lies on the Starlink internet satellite connectors or whatever Elon's that whatever. Yeah, Elon's thing. And after Zelensky said
Starting point is 01:11:03 well Trump well Putin's not abiding by the energy ceasefire so we're not going to either and then they hit a fucking refinery. The Starlink system went out and it basically prevented them from being able to strike deep into Russian
Starting point is 01:11:18 territory and then it also suddenly all their intelligence reports from the United States just went silent and so Ukraine didn't know that Russia was planning this attack Russia hit this I don't know it hit like
Starting point is 01:11:32 classic Trump double cross right right hit like an energy plant and like 600,000 people were without power several people died anyways the Ukraine was like blaming the United States like you know this is obviously Trump throwing us to the
Starting point is 01:11:50 wolves, and I think that that's correct. Like, as he gets more desperate, man, I always think about that. There's nobody that's not in line to be cannon fodder. Yes, exactly. That's why he saw, that really is truly why, like, as maggot disintegrates, he becomes very dangerous. Like, dude, when he was far less entrenched, he tried to deviant overthrow of, like, Congress, you know what I mean?
Starting point is 01:12:13 Yeah, yeah. Like, what the fuck do you think he's going to do for an encore here? Like, if he just decides he wants to stay in power, like, you know, after next year or something. Yeah. It is wild. It's pretty crazy that they asked Kimberly Gilfoyle. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:12:27 Did you see that story? Yeah. Yeah. I mean, she was taking a lot of money from Eric Deidner's, Kentucky. Yeah. Yeah, that's weird.
Starting point is 01:12:36 That seems like that wouldn't even like clock for them, but. I don't know. It could be a lot of, it's like the women in the administration. It's like they hold them to like 1990s standards, but the men can just like, you know, be rumored to have.
Starting point is 01:12:50 committed the most heinous crimes against humanity and they're just like, eh, we'll see how it plays out. Yeah, it's true. I mean, Hegsteth should have been canned by this point, I think. But, I mean, who knows? Hackseth should have been discarded at birth, but, you know. Well, yeah, he should have been.
Starting point is 01:13:13 You know, like, they have that well thing in, like, Sparta, in ancient Sparta. Yeah, they throw the discarded ones just down in there. Hegset should have as a baby been thrown in that thing. Not aborted, but been allowed to be born and then thrown into a head. Yeah, exactly. Before we close out, you got any more rock news?
