Starting point is 00:00:26 Welcome everyone to the introduction of a new podcast called True Crime All the Time. My name is Mike Ferguson and I'll be your host for the podcast and I have to say that I am absolutely ate up with true crime. I've been fascinated by the subject for a very long time and I'll go out on a limb and say that if you clicked on this podcast to check it out, you're probably a true crime addict as well. What is it about crime, murder, and serial killers that fascinates this? I think for me, it's trying to figure out what makes some people who appear to lead normal lives commit such heinous acts. Is it something to do with their upbringing or maybe some traumatic event in their life? On the flip side, there are some people that are so completely different than most of the
Starting point is 00:01:23 of us that they provide a whole different type of fascination. For these type of killers, it's the mental aspect that really intrigues me. There has to be something that goes so wrong with a person's brain or wiring that allows, makes, or even sometimes compels them to do terrible things. So let's talk about what you can expect in the weeks, months, and hopefully years to come. I plan on covering some of the most brutal and heinous cases the world has ever seen. Many of you will be familiar with some of these, but I plan on covering some of the lesser-known cases as well. The case that will be examined in my first official episode will be a case that's probably unknown to many of you, but it has ties to my hometown of Dayton, Ohio, and that's really one of the major reasons that I picked.
