Starting point is 00:00:01 Darkness struck, a gut-punched theft, Sun ripped away, her health bereft. I roar at the void. This ain't just fate, a cosmic scam I spit my hate. The games rigged tight, shadows deal, blood on their hands, I'll never kneel. Yet in the rage, a crack ignites, occulted sparks cut through the nights. The scars my key, hermetic and stark. To see, to rise, I hunt in the dark, fumbling, fear. Fearers through ruins maze lights my war cry born from the blaze.
Starting point is 00:00:39 The poem is Angels with Rifles. The track, I Am Sorrow, I Am Lust by Codex Serafini. Check out the entire song at the end of the cast. Chapter 12. The Revelation Frenzy. When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. Hunter S. Thompson. Lucius slammed back the violations.
Starting point is 00:01:16 of liquid in one reckless gulp, the cold metallic taste, flooding his senses like a tsunami of forgotten memories. His veins lit up with a searing fire, a wild fire of raw energy that tore through his body, igniting every nerve ending, every synapse, until reality itself began to warp and twist around him. The walls of the chamber, once so solid and imposing, began to ripple like a one-house mirror, their surfaces melting into fluid streams of color and sound. Lucius staggered, his vision exploding into a kaleidoscope of light. Every hue in the spectrum bleeding into the next in a dizzying dance of madness. Somewhere in the far reaches of his fractured mind, he heard the conclave's voices,
Starting point is 00:02:11 distorted, overlapping, a cacophony of cryptic whispers and monies. niacal laughter, but their words were lost in the whirlwind of his transformation, swallowed by the chaos that now raged within him. And then, with a sickening lurch, reality snapped. He was no longer in the conclave's chamber. He was falling, plummeting through an endless void of darkness, tumbling through a tunnel of light and sound that stretched on into infinity. Images flashed before his eyes, fleeting glimpses of worlds he had. had never seen, yet somehow knew intimately. Junkles teeming with creatures from nightmares and dreams alike, cities built from the bones of long-dead titans, stars that pulsed with a heartbeat of
Starting point is 00:03:01 their own. He was in all of them, and none of them, a traveler in the wilderness of the mind, a psychonaut writing the currents of his own fragmented consciousness. Suddenly, he hit solid ground, or at least something that felt like it. The impact jolted him back to awareness, and he found himself standing in a place that defied all logic, all reason, a landscape that seemed plucked from the fevered imagination of a madman. The sky above was a churning vortex of colors, clouds that writhed and twisted like living things,
Starting point is 00:03:39 their forms constantly shifting and mutating. The ground beneath his feet was a mosaic of fernic, textures, sand, glass, water, fire, all blending into one, another in a seamless, surreal tapestry. Buildings, or what could loosely be called such, jutted up at impossible angles, structures that appeared to be made from thoughts, emotions, and memories rather than brick and mortar. And everywhere, the chrysalis symbols, the spirals, the eyes, the inless loops of meaning and madness, were etched into every surface, glowing. with a strange inner light.
Starting point is 00:04:17 Welcome to the nexus, a voice said, smooth as velvet and sharp as broken glass. Lucius turned and found himself face to face with a man or what was left of one. His form was a patchwork of different realities, a shifting collage of faces and features that refused to stay fixed. One moment he was a grizzled old warlock, the next smooth-faced businessman,
Starting point is 00:04:43 man with the eyes of a hawk. And then a child with an unsettling ancient gaze. Who the hell are you, Lucius asked, trying to steady himself as the ground beneath him pulsed like a heartbeat. The man, or creature, grinned a smile that was all teeth and no warmth. Call me the guide. Every journey needs one, doesn't it? Lucius was about to respond, but the world around him lurched again, throwing him off balance. He could feel the nexus tugging at his mind, pulling him deeper into the labyrinth depths. Careful now, the guide warned, his voice echoing strangely. This place has a way of getting under your skin, of unraveling your very soul if you're not careful.
Starting point is 00:05:33 You'll see things here, Lucius, things that will make you question everything you've ever known. The nexus is a place of revelations, but not all revelations. are kind. Lucius gritted his teeth trying to push back the rising tide of panic. What am I supposed to do here? What's the point of all this? The guides ever shifting form paused for a moment,
Starting point is 00:05:57 as if considering the question. The nexus is a crossroads, a place where all paths converge. It's where you'll find the answers you seek, but only if you're willing to ask the right questions. And trust me, Lucius. The right questions are often the ones you're the most afraid to ask. Before Lucius could respond, the ground beneath him erupted into a thousand shards of light.
Starting point is 00:06:26 He was falling again, this time into a maze of twisted corridors, each one leading to a different door, a different reality. He hurled through them, barely able to grasp the fragments of visions that bombarded him, faces of loved ones lost. Monsters that wore the skins of men, truths too terrible to be spoken aloud. He saw himself over and over in a thousand different forms, a thousand different lives,
Starting point is 00:06:56 each one more alien than the last. This is the chrysalis, the guide's voice echoed in the mind, a place of infinite possibilities. But remember, every possibility comes with a price. The words echoed in his skull as he told, tumbled into the heart of the nexus, where a massive pulsating orb of light and shadow awaited him. It pulsed with a rhythm that matched his heartbeat, drawing him closer, closer, until he could feel the very fabric of his being unraveling at the seams. Choose, Lucius, the guide whispered,
Starting point is 00:07:35 his voice a razor in the dark. Choose your path. Choose your truth. But know this. Once you've chosen, There's no going back. Lucius reached out, his hand trembling as it brushed the surface of the orb. The moment he made contact, the world exploded into a burst of pure, unfiltered consciousness, and he was flung into a maelstrom of vision so intense, so overwhelming, that they threatened to tear him apart. And then, just as suddenly, it was over. Lucius found himself standing on a precipice, overlooking. a vast, ever-shifting landscape of light.
Starting point is 00:08:16 The guide was beside him, silent now, his form flickering in and out of existence. Lucius knew without being told that this was the choice. The final choice, the one that would define his path, his purpose, his very existence. He closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and jumped into the light, into the dark, into the unknown. And as he fell, he smiled, because in that moment he understood, the journey was the destination. The madness was the method. And the chrysalis, in all its terrifying glory, was both the question and the answer. See you on the other side?
Starting point is 00:09:02 The guide's voice echoed in the distance just before everything went black. And then? then there was only silence.
