This offer won't last long, so act now and double up on protection today. Something very odd is happening in southern states hit hard by Hurricane Helene last week. It appears that the U.S. government has deliberately delayed its response.
And it also appears that the federal government is hindering citizens from helping, too.
We'll talk about it later in today's True News for Friday, October 4, 2024.
We will begin with our World War III update. Let's start our analysis
and commentary of today's news with this headline published by MiddleEastEye.com. Iran warns U.S.
it will retaliate over any Israeli strike. And it says Iran's mission to the United Nations said that Tehran has warned the United States that it would attack again if Israel retaliates for Iran's missile strike on Tuesday.
Iran said it exchanged messages with the United States using the Swiss embassy in Tehran as an intermediary.
This is a quote from the Iranian mission.
Our response will be solely directed at the aggressor.
Should any country render assistance to the aggressor,
it shall likewise be deemed an accomplice and a legitimate target.
End of quote.
Also, we have this story from Al Jazeera. Iran warns of unconventional response
in case of new Israeli attack. Doc, what's your thoughts? Let's read this one.
Yes. So Iran has told the U.S. via an intermediary that any Israeli attack against Iran would meet an unconventional response in case
of a new Israeli attack. In exclusive remarks to Al Jazeera, an Iranian official said Thursday
that his country has sent a message to the U.S. via Qatar addressing rising regional tensions
after Iran's missile attack on Israel. The article goes on to say here in the message, Tehran told Washington
that the phase of unilateral self-restraint has ended, adding that individual self-restraint
does not secure our national security requirements. The indirect message also emphasized that Iran
does not want a regional war, the official said. And you were about to ask, Rick, what is an
unconventional response? What are your thoughts on that?
EMP.
That was my first thought when I saw the headline this morning.
They're going to do an electromagnetic pulse attack on Israel.
Wasn't there a story here just a few weeks back that some EMP device had been transferred
over to Hezbollah? Yes, about a month ago. They
said they had sent transferred EMP weapons to Hezbollah. And there was some speculation that
Hezbollah got the older models and that Iran has the newer versions of their EMP weapons.
There's a third one that goes along with this theme, Telegraph
from London. Iran warns Israel against striking its oil facilities. Iran has threatened to respond
to any direct attacks by Israel by striking the country's energy and gas infrastructure.
Deputy Commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps said on Friday, quote, If the occupiers make such a mistake, we will target all their energy supplies, installations, and all refineries and gas fields.
So let's take a look at these three articles.
The Middle East Eye started out with Iran's ambassador to the United Nations warning the United States that it would attack Israel again if Israel attacks Iran.
And then it said, our response will be solely directed at the aggressor.
Should any country render assistance to the aggressor, it shall likewise be deemed an accomplice and a legitimate target.
Meaning?
The United States.
If the United States gets involved, then U.S. targets are legitimate targets for – U.S. assets become legitimate targets for Iran.
That's number one.
The second one was the Al Jazeera.
They will respond with unconventional responses, which we assume means EMP.
And then the third one, Iran warns it will strike Israel's oil facilities.
You know, Israel's got major infrastructure in the sea, the Leviathan, gas fields, and so forth.
So you put those three together, and this is the message that Iran has delivered to the United States and Israel in the past 24 hours.
Basically saying, you go ahead and attack us.
We're going to take out your oil facilities.
We're going to hit you with an unconventional weapon. And if the U.S. is involved, then American assets are then legitimate targets.
So, Doc, this complicates it for Joe Biden. then American assets are then legitimate targets.
So, Doc, this complicates it for Joe Biden.
Joe Biden doesn't really want to be in this war.
We're a month away from the election.
He doesn't want the United States in a war before the election,
maybe after the election, but not before the election.
So it complicates it for him.
Bibi Netanyahu needs a war.
And this is the closest he's ever gotten in decades.
To a full regional blowout.
Of everybody.
Right. And so he is salivating at the opportunity to attack Iran.
He's dreamed for decades about blowing up Iran.
And so what Mr. Biden's got to deal with is the possibility that Joe Biden, I mean, excuse me, that Netanyahu will just go ahead and start the war.
And just start it.
You know, it's like, you know, two buddies in a bar
and one buddy's saying,
hey, let's get in a fight with these guys.
I say, no, I don't want in a fight with them.
And the one buddy goes over and punches the guy.
Guess what?
We're in it.
We're in it, you know?
And that's what Netanyahu is going to do to Joe Biden.
He's going to start the fight.
And then Joe Biden has no other choice.
He does, but he, you know but because the Zionists control American politics, the United States will get involved in the war against Iran.
And now American soldiers, American Marines, American sailors, American airmen are going to die.
For what?
For Israel.
So, the next one is CNBC.
Satellite imagery shows Iranian oil tankers at the country, getting them out of the port, expecting to be hit at any moment.
CNBC reported that satellite imagery revealed a number of oil tankers vacating the waters around Iran's key Karj Island oil loading terminal amid fears of an Israeli counterattack on Tehran's energy infrastructure.
Yes, the story went on to say there, Rick, that the National Iranian Tanker Company appears to be fearing an imminent attack by Israel. Their empty VLCC supertankers vacated the country's
largest oil terminal, Karg Island, yesterday. Tracking firm Tanker Trackers wrote in a post on the ex-social
media platform Thursday night, satellite imagery captured by the European Space Agency's Copernicus
Sentinel-1 mission on September 25th shows a number of VLCC, those are very large crude carriers,
in the waters around Karg Island. VLCC tankers are specifically designed to transport large volumes of crude oil.
Imagery of the same location on October 3rd, two days after Iran launched a volley of around 180
missiles at Israel, shows an empty sea around Karg Island with no ships in sight. So we have this
picture here, kind of give you, or this post from Tanker Trackers saying, you know, they're aware of
this. The National Iranian Tanker Company appears to be fearing an imminent attack. We have located
and tagged all of them in satellite imagery. That's from Tanker Trackers there.
Doc, this next story from Reuters is very interesting. Gulf states sought to reassure Iran of their neutrality
in
Iran-Israel conflict.
So other Arab nations
sent word to
Tehran yesterday.
If a war breaks out,
we're neutral.
And that means
U.S.
warplanes can't take off from bases in those countries.
It's really a major development.
No, it is.
Because these Arab countries are saying, we're not going to be pulled into this.
We're not going to have Iran saying that we're helping the United States and Israel destroy a Muslim country.
So it's really a major development, and it's a headache for Joe Biden.
Right. So the story from Reuters is this, that Gulf Arab states sought to reassure Iran
of their neutrality in the conflict between Tehran and Israel in meetings in Doha this week
on the back of concerns that a wider escalation in
violence could threaten their oil facilities. Ministers from Gulf Arab states and Iran attending
a meeting of Asian nations hosted by Qatar centered their conversations around de-escalation.
Sources said Iran has not threatened to attack Gulf oil facilities, but it has warned that if
Israel supporters intervene directly, their interests in the region would be targeted, and specifying the United States.
The Gulf states think it's unlikely that Iran will strike their oil facilities, but the
Iranians are dropping hints they might from unofficial sources.
Now, it's a tool the Iranians have against the U.S. and the global economy.
That's coming from Ali Shihabi, a Saudi commentator close to the royal court.
Okay, so our true news audience knows we have been on top of World War III since February 2022.
It is our viewpoint that World War III started two and a half years ago.
And we've been showing you day by day the battles that are taking place in World War III.
99.9% of the American people have no idea that these battles are taking place.
They don't know about it.
Nope.
They're clueless. They're not going to see it on Fox, CNN, MSNBC, none of the major outlets.
Nothing at all.
But I've got something to show you.
This first is a headline.
This is from Maritime Executive.
Video shows Houthi attack on tanker and attempt to explode bomb boat.
It says videos were released showing the two sides of the attack on the tanker Cordelia Moon.
Look at this.
So this is from the tanker, and you see the drone boat.
They're trying to shoot the drone.
Yes.
A drone is coming in there, loaded with explosives to hit the oil tanker.
Right.
And so they're actively trying to engage it.
And they hear an explosion,
but you don't know what is the explosion.
Did the boat out there explode,
or did it hit the tanker?
Well, we have additional evidence here.
Now, this video was released by the Houthis.
Right.
So now you're seeing two sides of the news here. One side, you didn't get the complete picture.
This side, they're saying, we blew up the boat. I was stunned last night when I saw this in my
home, Doc. And this isn't a headline. This isn't
on any of the
lamestream outlets or anything like that at all.
I want to go back and I want to show you
again the video of the
I don't know if
these are military or private security
guards. I'm assuming they're private
security
personnel
on the tanker shooting at the unmanned drone that they knew.
This thing's loaded with explosives.
It's coming in to attack the ship.
This is amazing.
This just happened, and nobody's talking about it.
Let's watch it again. Fire, fire, fire! One!
Go, go, go, go! Go! Rick, I've said it before, I'll say it again.
Look at history.
How many wars, how many major conflicts have started because a boat sank?
That's right. There are other videos on Twitter about this incident showing the crew of the tanker moving throughout the rooms of the vessel as the smoke is filling up.
I haven't seen those. But again, this is what's taking place. This is World War III.
And there'll be a day that one ship goes down and, baby, that'll be it.
And the fight will be on.
Okay?
So this is taking place every week.
And the public doesn't know about it uh guardian israel may launch symbolic attack
on iran's nuclear related facility it says ihud barack symbolic just symbolic what does that mean
symbolic like we're going to hit it but we don't really intend to destroy it but we're just going
to let them know that we hit it but what he said said in here is that Israel will mount a large-scale airstrike against Iran's
oil industry and possibly a symbolic attack on a military target related to the nuclear
program.
Again, this is an interview by the London Guardian with Ehud Barak, former prime minister of Israel.
And it says, Barak said that there was no doubt there would be an Israeli military response to Iran's assault on Tuesday.
But it goes on and we'll move on to the next one. The former prime minister, who also served as defense minister, foreign minister, army chief of staff, said the model for the Israeli response could be seen in Sunday's reprisal airstrikes against Houthi-controlled oil facilities, power plants, and docks a day after Houthi-fired missiles aimed at Israel's international airport outside Tel Aviv.
So you've got the former prime minister of Israel, former defense minister, former foreign affairs minister, and he's saying, you saw what we did to Yemen?
This weekend, yes.
That's what we're going to do to iran so for me doc i i think it's uh foregone conclusion
that israel is launching an attack on iran's oil facilities because that's what they basically
destroyed over the weekend in yemen and it've got Rosh Hashanah is underway.
So unlikely for them to proceed, but they've done it on holidays before too.
So that's interesting.
But what do you think the symbolic attack, though, is? What would be a symbolic attack
on nuclear facilities? I would think that it's either an attack or it's not an attack.
Well, basically, when you read the article, he's saying that the nuclear program is so well advanced that a single attack would not be sufficient to destroy it.
Well, yes.
Like we were saying yesterday, it's all or nothing, really, on the nuclear program.
But it would be, hey, after we blow up your oil facilities on our way back,
we're going to hit one of your nuclear facilities just to let you know. We're going to leave you
a calling card there just to say, hey, you want us to come back? This is where we're coming
on the next trip. I think that's what he's implying. Well, there's a couple other things
in here I think we can see that gives us some clues. He told The Guardian, I think we might see something like that, talking about the Yemen attack.
It might be a massive attack, and it could be repeated more than once.
So he's hinting here two things.
The attack on Iran's oil facilities will be massive.
Right.
And multiple attacks, waves of attacks.
Barack believes that there is pressure within the Netanyahu government for at least some symbolic strike against the Iranian nuclear program,
even though the former prime minister said, see such a gesture as futile.
He said, you can cause certain damage, but even this might be perceived by some of the planners
as worth the risk because the alternative is to sit by, idly by and do nothing. So probably
there will be even an attempt to hit certain nuclear-related targets.
Meanwhile, Times of Israel reporting that the U.S. Pentagon is beefing up American military presence in the Middle East by several thousand troops, sending an array of fighter jets and other aircraft to bolster the protection of U.S. forces and allies.
The decision brings the total number of American troops in the region to as many, look at this number, folks, 43,000,
including more than a dozen warships.
Risk to American forces has increased.
U.S. military leaders are now in almost daily
discussions with their Israeli counterparts on what Tel Aviv's response might be to Iran's missile
attack. Threats continue throughout Iraq, Syria, and in the Red Sea, where Iranian-backed militias
threaten U.S. bases and commercial ships. We have this image here. This is from the Council on Foreign Relations.
They're up on all this. This is a picture of where we have military bases throughout the
Middle East here. You have various bases. You have U.S.-controlled bases that have been around
for 15 or more years, other sites with U.S. military presence, and where the U.S. Navy is deployed, possible location of various ships ranging from the Gulf of Oman over to the Mediterranean.
So this gives you an idea.
There's a massive presence of the U.S. throughout the Middle East.
And all of those bases are within striking range of Iranian missiles.
That's right. So what the Iranians said today to the United States, I guess this was happened yesterday,
they sent the message, if the U.S. participates in attacking Iran, particularly their oil
field, then American bases in the Middle East are legitimate targets.
Now, they didn't limit it to bases in the Middle East. They just
said, you know, they said the aggressor's assets would become legitimate targets. So,
that could be things inside the USA. But primarily, it's going to be those military bases
in the Middle East within easy range minutes, with minutes, for those Iranian missiles
to land on American military bases.
Again, I'm going to ask the question, why are we risking the lives of American soldiers
for Israel?
Why?
Why can't we be at peace with Iran?
If there was no Israel in this story, we'd be at peace with Iran.
Take Israel out of the picture.
We're at peace with all these countries.
There's no fighting.
Get them out of the way.
Ship them back to Europe and the United States where they came from, where they were born.
There's hardly anybody in the Israeli government born in Palestine.
That's right.
They're all Europeans.
They're the source of the problem.
Decouple the United States foreign policy from Israel
and suddenly the United States is at peace with the nations of the Middle East.
And we're not at war.
And we're not giving away billions of dollars to Israel.
We're not spending trillions of dollars on military defense.
We don't have to have all.
Why do we have all those military bases there?
Is it to defend the United States?
No, it's to protect Israel.
Yes, and to keep the oil flowing out of the Middle East.
All right, let's go back.
Put that map up again, please.
All right, you see there, you see Iran, you know, to the upper right.
And then below it, there's a body of water.
And you see Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, and Oman, that
body of water, as it comes out into the sea, that is the Strait of Hormuz.
If Iran shuts it, and do you notice Iran has shores?
They have beaches, coastlines.
Right.
At the Strait of Hormuz.
If they shut that strait,
there's no oil moving from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia,
Bahrain, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Oman.
There's nothing moving.
That's all they have to do.
Now, you go back to that earlier article, Arab nations.
On the neutrality.
Send the word, hey, we're neutral.
Please, please don't blow up the Strait of Hormuz.
Don't shut it down.
We're not fighting you.
We're not going to allow the Americans to use
military
bases in our country to
attack you. They don't want to lose the money.
It's going to cost them trillions
of dollars in revenue
if the Strait is shut down
for six months, a year.
I don't know, Doc, how much damage the Iranians could do
and how long it would take to undo the damage.
So for you and me, there is the possibility
that we have extreme financial liabilities
here in the United States, meaning gasoline goes to $10, $15, $20 a gallon.
And that's not beyond the range of believability.
If the Strait of Hormuz is shut down.
Yeah, things radically change.
I guarantee you the West would suddenly make peace with Russia and take the sanctions off Russian oil.
They'll be kissing Putin's cheek.
Watch how fast.
Mr. Putin, we need your oil, okay?
Let's just end this war and you sell us oil because the world will be so thirsty for oil if this goes through.
And for what purpose?
Again, for Netanyahu's political hide for his career?
Well, that's it right now.
What is in it for Americans?
What's in it?
Tell me what is in it for the benefit of the American people.
Where do we gain?
What is it?
I only see losses.
I see no upside to fighting in the Middle East for Israel.
I see no upside.
Oh, I know why.
Because whoever blesses the Jews,
God's going to bless them.
Yeah, just like we've been blessed
for the past 70 plus years.
Yeah, it's a curse.
It's a curse to be connected with them because everything goes wrong.
Now, decouple from Israel.
Create a new foreign policy that's peace with all nations.
I got one more video I'm going to show you before I take a break for a message from Gold Co.
This is Mint Press journalist Lowkey.
I follow him on Twitter.
And he confronted Piers Morgan over political donations given to Netanyahu by Mr. Morgan's employer.
Let's watch.
Rupert Murdoch, yes.
Do you condemn Rupert Murdoch?
What's he going to do with me?
Do you condemn Rupert Murdoch?
I'm not talking about Rupert Murdoch.
Do you condemn Rupert Murdoch?
I'm not talking about Rupert Murdoch.
This has never been shown on British media.
This is a letter from Netanyahu's political office.
And Bridget may well recognize the handwriting
of Benjamin Netanyahu here.
It is a list of individuals that Netanyahu considered
to be funders of his political campaign.
There is a name on this list.
The name is Rupert Murdoch, your employer.
You know what, Loki?
It seems he funded Benjamin Netanyahu.
That's an issue.
You know what, Loki?
It's not an issue for me.
It's an issue.
And actually, it's in the interest of objectivity that you state it.
Rupert Murdoch can speak for himself.
If you've got a problem with him, take it up with him.
I do.
I can tell you categorically, he has never had a single conversation with me
about anything I've put on Piers Morgan Uncensored.
Sam kindly resigned
ever from the times newspaper because of murdoch's investment and bias this this document this letter
you're a rapper shows benjamin netanyahu noting rupert murdoch considering him to be a funder of
his political you're a rapper that's an issue you're a rapper you That's an issue. You're a rapper. You condemn P. Diddy. Yes.
Great.
You see how easy it is?
You take it out of your obsession,
which is that you hate Israel so much
you can't condemn anything that people do to them.
We see the situation differently.
Not really.
My loyalty is to the people.
I agree with you a lot more.
My loyalty is to the people.
I agree with you a lot more than you realize.
I view myself as loyal to the people of the camps. I agree with you a lot more than you realize. I view myself as loyal to the people of the camps, to the people under the bombs.
I do not view myself as loyal to somebody that would end up on a list of potential funders of Benjamin.
Piers Morgan said, Rupert Murdoch has never said a word to me about anything I've ever said here on his television network.
You know, because, Pierce, you never criticize Israel.
You criticize Zionists and see how fast Rupert Murdoch calls you.
And you know it.
You better believe it.
And you won't have a job if you continue criticizing Israel.
Hey, let's take a break.
I'll be back in just a few minutes after this announcement from Goko.
Extreme inflation. Some of you have never experienced the level of inflation that we're seeing in this country over the past two years.
If you're my age or older, you lived through the stagflation cycle from 1975 to 1990. Gerald Ford was our president when the cycle started,
and George Herbert Walker Bush was our president when it ended. It was called stagflation. The
economy was both deeply stagnated and highly inflated at the same time. What did it look like?
Well, I'm talking about simultaneous stagnation
and inflation. I'll give you two examples. Many people were unemployed and mortgage rates were
nearly 20%. I still remember First Lady Betty Ford distributing wind buttons,ip inflation now. Well, we wore Mrs. Ford's buttons, but we didn't whip inflation.
It raged on for 15 years. I was 22 years old when the stagflation cycle started,
and I was 37 years old when it ended. Instead of giving us whip inflation now buttons,
I wish somebody would have given me the wisdom to buy gold when I was in my
twenties and thirties.
That's how you whip inflation.
Well, I was much older when I learned the wisdom of buying precious metals, and I often
think about how much I would have today if some older person had taught me in the 1970s
to put a portion of my earnings into gold. Well, you have me,
an older man, telling you now that it's wise to buy precious metals. Personally, I like to do
business with the best, and my choice in the precious metals category is Gold Co. Gold Co.
is the top-rated precious metals company in America. Look them up. Gold Co. has over 6,000 five star reviews and a lot of Gold and Silver kit. Also ask them if you qualify for
a 10% instant match on bonus silver. Learn how precious metals like gold and silver could help
you. Call 844-960-GOLD. That's 844-960-4653.
And also, don't forget about this new buy one, get one free offer from American Reserves.
This is on the entire British Burkefield water filtration collection.
The offer is valid from October 4 to October 11. Free shipping on orders over $199
within the USA. No promo codes needed. Just add the products to your cart. So it's not a mix and
match. It is in this particular one for one. Yes, it's one for one. Okay. So if you buy a particular item, you will get a free item of the same type.
So if you buy a one liter Brookfield, you get...
You're going to get a one liter free.
Okay, you can't mix and match.
Okay, on this one.
But this is a fantastic offer.
Just look at what's going on in states right now where people have no water.
They have no clean water.
They may not have water for weeks, maybe months.
So it's a hard lesson, but it's very real.
This is a great opportunity.
And also, Christmas is coming.
This is a good Christmas gift that you can give a British
Brookfield water filtration system to somebody in your
family as a Christmas gift.
So check it out, AmericanReserves.com.
Now, Doc, I have been noticing, you know, I see trends in the news.
I've been doing this for so long.
Right.
That it's pretty easy for me to pick up on propaganda trends.
Right.
You know, you start going from one site,
you know, as many websites as we look at every day,
and you go, wait a minute, I just saw that yesterday.
Right.
And you go to another one tomorrow,
hey, that's the same type of headline.
Right.
You know, we're being propagandized, okay?
So in the past week or two,
I've noticed the Western media is putting out stories,
who cares about Putin's red lines?
He's full of hot air. Nobody believes him. Medvedev, take a hike. Who cares about your
threats to use nukes? These are the headlines that have been appearing for weeks. Now,
I'm going to show you a couple. Here's Newsweek. Are Putin's irresponsible nuclear threats credible?
Oh, he's irresponsible, Doc.
He should be.
He's not serious.
He should be spanked because he's got weapons that nobody would use, and he's irresponsible for even threatening to use them. Right. And then the next one of Financial Times.
Former NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg.
So far, we have called Putin's bluff.
This guy is bragging.
Yes.
We've taken the world to the edge of nuclear war, and we've won so far.
By bluffing.
We're bluffing.
And we're going to keep calling his bluff.
I'm not kidding you.
Think about the insanity of this kind of thinking.
To go in a major newspaper, a Rothschild-owned paper, and say, hey, we just keep pushing Putin.
And so far, we've won every time.
He hasn't used the nukes.
This is what it's reporting. Putin has ramped up warnings that NATO's support to Ukraine makes it a direct party
to the conflict, and that it could be attacked potentially using nuclear weapons. Now, here's
the quote from Mr. Stoltenberg. There were days and weeks, especially in the beginning of the
full-scale war, where we had to discuss and address the issue of these Russian red lines.
Of course, you have to stop and think, well, maybe this is just too dangerous.
But then the alternative to stop supporting Ukraine because of some rhetoric isn't really an option.
If anything, I push for crossing all those so-called red lines that Putin has put up.
Now we know who's doing it.
Stoltenberg was doing it.
And he's passed the baton to Ruddy now.
And we have crossed many of them.
And he hasn't done anything.
The reality is that if Putin wants to escalate with the use of weapons of mass destruction,
he can create all the excuses he needs.
So far, we have called his bluff.
Well, now we know who to blame when the nukes go off.
Put these people, put them in straitjackets and take them to an insane asylum.
Doc, they should be in rooms with padded walls.
Give them little toy weapons.
All right?
Little bottle.
Let them have little rockets and sit inside an insane asylum and have their wars.
And we just forget about them.
Okay?
They can call Putin's bluff all day long inside an insane asylum.
But the fact that they sat around a table discussing this and said, I think he's bluffing.
That's like playing chicken on a railroad track.
Yes, with everybody's lives.
Now, when I came back from my prayer week,
I told you that I believe that the Lord showed me several news articles that gave us clues, dates,
that this big war, the big one that I had been
anticipating for years, that this is going to be pushed out into the early 2030s. And I showed you
three articles where it was the late 20s, 2029, 2030. Okay, here's another one.
Look at this.
This is EU should prepare for war with Russia, says the new EU defense commissioner.
And it says the EU and Russia could face one another on the battlefield in less than a decade.
Member of Parliament Andreas Kublas, the newly
appointed EU Commissioner for Defense and Space, said this week, he said, quote, if you want peace,
prepare for war. Oh, that's very Orwellian. If you want peace, prepare for war.
He said, commenting on his group's initiative calling for a european defense union
and encouraging investments in the defense technology of the future now here says we must
be ready to meet russia militarily in six to eight years yes six years is 2030 eight years. Yes. Six years is 2030. Eight years is 2032.
The EU, in complementing NATO and together with its member states, must boost defense production, stock up reserves, and continue helping Ukraine.
Doc, the way these guys are thinking, they're going to keep calling Putin's bluff.
They think they can do it for another six to eight years.
Now, I'm not telling you that Putin's going to put up with this for six to eight years.
I'm just telling you that during my week of prayer, I felt like this was what the Lord was showing me.
It is going to be a dangerous time over the next five, six, seven years.
But the big war is coming, no doubt about
it. All right, I got to get to something very quickly here. Let's go down to, where are the
ones, excuse me. Well, do you want to pick up at 20 with Lindsey Graham? Yes, yes. This is,
Lindsey Graham said he prefers to help Israel instead of hurricane victims.
Let's watch.
Did he really say that?
You can thank Donald Trump and Elon Musk for that.
You know, I've been going all over South Carolina like most people, hadn't slept much, but look
what's going on in Israel.
Our friends in Israel are surrounded by people that want to kill them, destroy them, a second
Holocaust in the making.
And Biden says,
be proportional. What is the proportional response to people who want to kill you and your family?
They're running out of ammunition in Israel. We have to help our friends to keep the war over
there from coming here. They're willing to. So how passionate he was about Israel.
I can't say on this program
what I want to say about Lindsey Graham
because preachers are not supposed to cuss.
Okay?
So, I'll just
stay quiet. He
just said
he is more concerned
about getting ammo to Israel
than he is getting blankets and food and clean water and new housing to Americans.
I cannot stand these people.
Doc, I detest these people.
I really, I shouldn't talk like that.
They are despicable.
They are utterly despicable.
They are prostitutes for Zionism.
And they betrayed their own people.
Okay, I'm going to get a couple minutes of this.
Newsweek, Marjorie Taylor Greene appears to say Democrats can control the weather.
This is what she put on.
They're really mocking her on this, okay? Weather modification. This is what she put on. They're really mocking her on this.
Okay.
Weather modification.
This is what she tweeted.
Yes, they can control the weather.
It's ridiculous for anyone to lie and say it can't be done.
Well, that's true.
We've known for what?
How long?
How many?
Since 60 years. They've been experimenting on weather modification.
And if you say it, you're a conspiracy theorist.
But then she made a connection between the damage as a result of Hurricane,
I'll call it Hurricane Harris instead of Hurricane Helene,
but Hurricane Helene and the Electoral College map of the mid-Atlantic Dixie states.
Right.
Doc, I didn't know that she said this until today.
This was on my mind yesterday.
Well, I thought about it, too, the other day.
And I'm thinking, there's not going to be any voting in these states, in the damaged area.
How are these people going to vote?
Well, the areas that are damaged are highly Republican,
which means it would help the Democrat-majority cities in those states
carry the states for Harris and give the electoral votes to Harris.
Harris could end up winning Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia.
And an evil man would think that would be a reason to delay FEMA response, too.
There is no doubt in my mind that the U.S. government has deliberately delayed response to Americans in dire need.
There is no doubt in my mind.
You cannot explain this delay.
I've seen too many videos of people on the ground in those devastated areas
saying, where is the government? Nobody's been here for a week to help us. Where is our government?
What are they doing? And I've heard too many people on the ground say that the U.S. government
has interfered and has stopped Americans from helping Americans. Yes.
I've heard it.
I don't believe these people are making it up.
There's even stuff, it's unverified,
this is last week,
truck drivers saying that their tires on their rigs were slashed.
They were trying to deliver.
I heard that one.
Yes.
Now, I don't know if it's true.
I just saw a number of tweets
where truckers were saying,
hey man,
a lot of us are,
we're getting our tires slashed.
We're trying to get aid
to Asheville.
Something's going on.
Somebody is deliberately
blocking aid
getting to Americans.
And they want
those states shut down.
At least until November.
Yes.
Maybe it's just because they're white
Americans. Maybe that's why they don't qualify
for help.
It's sick and it's pathetic and we
should not be tolerating it. Gotta go.

today. Good morning, everybody. Welcome to Morning Manna, and today is Friday, and that means
we will go to the Lord's table for the Lord's Supper, and we invite you to participate with
us in Holy Communion later in today's Bible class. So have bread and your choice of grape juice or red wine.
And if you are born again and baptized, you are welcomed to join us at the table.
And this is an awesome experience. Awesome experience every Friday that Christians all over the world gather together virtually on the Internet and have a communion service.
And we are one in Christ and he is present with us in that communion.
So today we're studying verses 21 and 22 in the 24th chapter of the Gospel according to St. Matthew.
Let's pray and begin our study.
Father, we give you great glory and honor today.
And we thank you for your goodness.
We are grateful, deeply thankful that we woke up alive today and that there is no problem that we will face today that's bigger than you.
Amen.
We have that confidence that nothing will come our way today that's greater and bigger than you. And so it gives us great peace and confidence to be your sons and daughters, knowing that you
are there with us and can solve every situation that we face. Father, we have gathered today
to be taught by your Holy Spirit, and we are eager and ready to receive from him him now father we ask for his anointing
and blessing upon this
bible study in the name of
Jesus amen
amen and we appreciate you tuning
in here this morning and joining us live
in the 8 o'clock hour on the east coast
of the United States
live here from morning manna
if you'd like to join us live if you're listening
at a different time we do this every weekday morning 8 o'clock Faith and Values.com. Verse 21 and 22. For then shall be great tribulations, such as was not seen since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved.
But for the elect's sake, those days shall be shortened.
God bless the reading of his word today okay I must start by advising our morning manna class that my views
on this scripture these two scriptures are currently undergoing internal review and a
new viewpoint is under construction and I need you to give me some more time to study and pray
about the correct interpretation of verses 21 and 22.
We will probably end today's lesson with more questions than answers,
and that's a good thing if it drives us all back to the Bible to
study it more and pray for the correct understanding and and I will tell you
look I am I am not too proud to say that I am reevaluating my previous
interpretations of verses 21 and 22 so this is a work in progress right now.
Previously, I believed that verses 21 and 22
were a prophecy about the time of the second coming.
I am no longer confident that is accurate.
I do not believe, and I haven't for many years, I've not believed the Christian Zionist eschatology
about a time called the Great Tribulation that they say would last seven years.
Yet I do believe the church will endure a time of tribulation before Jesus returns.
The issue is the proper context of verses 21 and 22.
Yes.
Jesus was clearly speaking about the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple.
I can't come to any other conclusion.
I can't either, Rick. And that is what has
messed me up, because I found a big old furball in my brain. And that's what I'm dealing with
today, Doc. I got a theological furball in my mind.
Not just a dog hair, but a furball.
Yeah, so I'm working it out, okay?
So, like I said, for years, I believe that verses 21 and 22
are Jesus transitioning from the destruction of the temple to the second coming
but two words pose a problem for me and those two words are for then yes
for then there will be great suffering there will be great tribulation for then
for then is linked to the verses in 15 through 20
that instruct judaeus christians to flee to the mountains when they see the abomination of desolation standing in the temple.
I have no doubt those verses refer to the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD.
Now, the Christian Zionists today, they teach that all of those things are in the future,
near the second coming.
That there's a specific period called the Great Tribulation.
Yes.
And they're saying that there's going to be a third temple,
and the Antichrist is going to go into the temple and desolate it.
I don't believe any of that i haven't for many years but i did believe
that there was this transition between the destruction of the temple and a future time of great tribulation right now today i i'm not convinced i The more I study the word, the more I'm convinced that Jesus was talking about the destruction of the temple.
So now I'm left with the quandary of how to reconcile the words for then
with my previously believed viewpoint that
verses 21 and 22
are a transition to a future time
of great tribulation.
So I'm having my own little mini
tribulation.
Well, this will add
to it because that phrase for then
in the Greek
is oftentimes in the New Testament
translated at that time. At that time.
At that time.
Not at some future point, not at some past point, but at the time that we're talking about.
Yes.
So we're in the narrative here talking about there's an abomination of desolation. You got
to flee. You got to, and then at that time that that that and so that's
a connected that you know that uh what we talked about before is connected to what we're going to
talk about at this time that's right so um you know i'm i'm in my own little mini tribulation
and it because i'm i'm working it out in real time on live internet and radio broadcasting
I'm simply being transparent and letting you know that my mind is
open to correction because my heart is intent on knowing the truth
and it's okay to say I'm re-evaluating my viewpoint about a bible verse come back later
and i'll give you an update it's okay to say that but you know what most bible teachers would never
say it because they want people to see them as infallible experts on the Holy Bible I like to maintain the Berean attitude we're all
gathered to study the Word of God together and and to teach each other to
to be a Berean means to examine new ideas and teachings by comparing them to the Bible. Yes.
And it comes from when we say I'm a Berean,
or this is a Berean Bible study.
Where does that come from?
Acts 17 verses 10 and 12.
So the brothers immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea.
When they arrived, they went into the synagogue of the Jews.
These were more noble than those in Thessalonica,
for they received the word with all eagerness,
daily examining the scriptures to find out if these things were so.
Therefore, many of them believed, including honorable Greek women and many Greek men.
The Bereans were eager to receive the message.
They examined the scriptures daily to see if what Paul said was true.
And they were persuaded to believe after verifying that the scriptures confirmed Paul's words.
So, it's okay to say right now, I'm reevaluating things.
So, let's examine verse 21 from the standpoint that it was a prophecy by Jesus that was later fulfilled in 70 AD
when the Roman army destroyed Jerusalem.
The language used in Matthew 24, 21, it echoes the words of Daniel.
Daniel 12 verse 1.
This is what Daniel said.
And at that time, Michael shall stand up.
The great prince who stands guard over the sons of your people.
And there shall be a time of trouble such as never was since there was a nation even to that time and at that time
your people shall be delivered everyone who shall be found written in the book
so doc does daniel 21 excuse me does daniel 12 1 speak of the future destruction of the temple,
or does it speak of the time near the second coming of Christ?
Well, now, first of all, you have to think of the audience
that Jesus was delivering the message to,
and that was to his disciples,
maybe even a core group of disciples,
if we're to consider the parallel passages here.
So when he's saying these words they're automatically going to think of that daniel passage they've heard
these words before yes but i'm talking about daniel who was daniel speaking of was daniel
when he made this prophecy was he speaking of the destruction of the temple or of the second coming of Christ?
See, this is where I'm at today.
It's okay to pause and think about it because that's what I've been doing today.
Well, in Daniel 12, 4, it says,
But you, Daniel, shut up these words and seal the book until the time of the end.
Yes.
And so that's a clue there.
In verse 2 of Daniel 12, it talks about the resurrection.
And many who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake, some to everlasting life, but others to everlasting contempt.
This is interesting.
I know.
I know what you'll be doing this weekend
this this will be your study right so what is tribulation it is a time of severe persecution
suffering affliction distress calamity and this particular
tribulation in verse 21
is seen
as unprecedented
in its severity
and impact
Jesus said for then
will be great tribulation
such as has not
happened since the beginning of the
world until now now the phrase since
the beginning of the world that's that's really broad that takes in Noah's great flood the burning of sodom and gomorrah the hebrews bondage in egypt
their captivity in babylon their troubles and woes during the maccabean era jesus said none of those
events would compare to the tribulation experienced during the destruction of Jerusalem.
The mention of the great flood speaks of the severity of the tribulation.
Because we think of the flood as one of the most severe judgments recorded in the Bible.
The complete destruction of the world due to human wickedness, except for Noah and his family.
But Jesus said, this tribulation that's coming is going to be greater than a great flood.
Greater than Sodom and Gomorrah the phrase from it is he he's bringing in the
entire history of creation by comparing the tribulation to the flood,
it means that the suffering and the destruction during the siege of Jerusalem
would reach an unprecedented level of intensity.
So what happened? What happened in 70 AD? Well, most of what we know
comes from the Jewish historian Josephus. He provides ample evidence of the extreme cruelty that the Roman army meted out on the Jews.
And the Jews on the Jews themselves in the cities.
Was Josephus an eyewitness?
Was he one that escaped and that that was taken out and you know
survived it well he certainly wasn't uh repeating jesus's words but in his own words he said
that all miseries that had been known from the beginning of the world fell short of those of
the siege of the holy city so i would probably guess that he was an eyewitness to
it he may have been one who was taken captive survived it was taken captive became a slave
for a period of time i got to research that no because where did he get the information so the calamities that befell
jerusalem
outstripped any prior destruction of cities known for their dramatic fall such as t, Babylon, Carthage.
And Josephus recorded the staggering number of casualties.
At the scale of the destruction during the siege,
over a million Jews killed.
Extensive devastation throughout Jerusalem and the surrounding areas.
It just wasn't Jerusalem itself.
The surrounding areas were also leveled. Yes. So I'm reading from Josephus here Rick and says he gave the account in his book
Wars and speaking about Jerusalem he says and now rushing into the city they
slew whomsoever they found without distinction burned the houses and all
the people who had fled into them. And when they entered for the sake of plunder, they found whole families of dead
and houses full of carcasses destroyed by famine. Then they came out with their hands empty. And
though they thus pitied the dead, they had not the same emotion for the living, but killed all
they met, whereby they filled the lanes with dead bodies. The whole
city ran with blood, Josephus says. We can't comprehend it. The Roman army used crucifixion.
Isn't that interesting? They crucified the Jews.
Josephus said that the Romans crucified so many Jews
they ran out of
trees
for lumber and they ran
out of spaces to put up the crosses.
The crosses
were so close to each other they couldn't get another cross in the ground
and i don't know if this is accurate one account i read uh said that uh
they crucified primarily young jewish men
which would be representative of the jew crucifying Jesus in his 30s.
Right.
Josephus talks about the famine, which led to cannibalism.
People were eating their children.
Yes. Those who survived the attack were either used in gladiatorial games and killed in sports,
or they were sent to labor camps in remote parts of the Roman Empire empire or they were sold into slavery
and so the jews were dispersed globally yes from jerusalem yes
see i don't believe that those people that are in jerusalem and what they claim is Jerusalem. It's not even Jerusalem.
I don't believe that those people that are in Palestine today are Jews.
They practice Judaism.
I agree on that.
But in terms of DNA, I don't believe they're Jews.
They say they are Jews, but they lie. It's the synagogue of Satan.
Right.
The events during the siege of Jerusalem fulfilled a number of Biblical prophecies this was not only a time of great suffering but a time
where the prophetic words of Moses Joel Daniel and all the other prophets
converged with the prophecy of Jesus himself and then were realized in devastating ways
doc all the warnings of the jewish prophets came together in 70 a.d yes
70 a.d was the fulfillment of old testament prophecies about divine judgment on the Jews now we I think most people know this the temple was destroyed by the Romans on the exact
same calendar day it had been that the first temple had been destroyed by the babylonians
the ninth of av on the jewish calendar yes and so the fact that both temples were destroyed
on the same calendar day
underscores the the cyclical nature of divine judgment on the temple.
And it speaks of a predetermined divine moment of reckoning.
The tribulation was not just a punishment, but it was a reflection of the moral, spiritual state of the Jewish society at that time, which was filled with malice and wickedness.
So the tribulation was divine retribution for specific sins of the Jewish people at that time.
Primarily their rejection and crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
So the magnitude of their sin, rejecting the Son of God,
murdering the Son of God,
corresponded with the
unparalleled nature of their suffering.
Their punishment
was in proportion to their sin.
Right.
You won't hear that preached today.
The preachers in America
would never publicly say that the Jews got what they deserved.
And that it was God, it was God who directed the Roman army to Jerusalem.
And this destruction parallels other destructions in the scripture too.
For everything from Sodom to nineveh and everything else because think about this that
the uh the gospel was preached in jerusalem for 40 years 40 years if it were you know approximate
the time of jesus's resurrection to the destruction of the temple about 40 years so for 40 years they continued to reject the gospel over and over
and over and over again uh even nineveh repented and they were giving a 40-year reprieve and so uh
so the the destruction though is more than just the destruction of the you know you know how they
treated the prophets and and everything else but their the destruction of the, you know, how they treated the prophets and everything else,
but their continued rejection of the gospel.
I hadn't thought about the 40-year connection.
Once again, we see 40 years, which reappears in the Bible.
So the survivors were sent back to wander in the wilderness. in 70 AD was God's response
to
the accumulated sin
of the Jewish people
that culminated in their murder
of his son
and so there's a profound
message
about the consequences of unrepentance and rejection of divine truth,
especially rejecting the mercy and the salvation offered through the Son of God.
Now, when we get to the gospel according to saint luke and we read these about these events
in saint luke he ordained judgment days of vengeance
luke 21 verses 20 and 21 and when ye shall see jerusalem compassed with armies then know that
the desolation thereof is nigh then let them which are in Judea flee
to the mountains and let them
which are in the midst of it depart out
and let not them
that are in the countries enter
thereunto for these
be the days of vengeance
that all things which
are written may be fulfilled
all
the prophecies written had to be fulfilled they were fulfilled
in 70 AD this intense suffering and brutal treatment of the Jews is directly connected to the curse they spoke upon themselves.
His blood be on us and on our children.
And so God in heaven said, so be it.
So be it.
Amen and amen.
So be it.
Let it be it. So be it. Amen and amen. So be it. Let it be so.
The early church father, Christ Sustum, he linked the severity of the Jewish suffering to divine wrath.
And he said specifically it was the consequence of the crucifixion of Jesus and the rejection of his Messiahship.
He said he connected the extreme nature of the tribulation to what he called the deed of the cross. The most devastating aspect of the Jews punishment was not just a physical suffering but the spiritual darkness. They were cut off from the
light of heaven and they were rejected by God. Yes.
They became the unchosen people.
Today, every time somebody says that they are the chosen people,
it is a direct challenge to what God said and did.
Well, I'm glad you said that, Rick. I felt that way for years
and just
hadn't had the right words to express
it, but you've summed it up right there.
How
this continued persistence on being
the chosen people. I acknowledge
that God had a chosen people,
but now I'm part of that
chosen people. I'm
Israel now
but for a race of people
by DNA
for Christian pastors
for Christian pastors to teach
their congregations that the Jews
are God's chosen people today
and they must idolize
them
those words are blasphemous
and for the Jews idolize them those words are blasphemous yes
and for the Jews
to maintain that they are still
God's chosen people
is also
blasphemous and it is
defiant rebellion
yes
gosh it is rebellion. Yes.
Gosh.
It is it's like a teenager put out
of the house by the father
for rebellion
to stand on the front porch
day after day after day
and said,
I am still
your favorite.
I'm still your chosen son.
I'm still your favorite.
I don't care you kick me out.
I'm still your favorite.
So the severity of the chastisements was due to the great hardness of their hearts.
And it shows us that severe measures were required to make them realize the gravity of their rejection of Jesus.
The grossness of their crimes justified the tribulation
the grossness of their crimes the crucifixion of jesus justified the tribulation of 70 a.d
they killed the great physician. This act of deicide was the pinnacle of their sinful actions.
Their sin reached a crescendo on the crucifixion of Jesus.
You can't sin any greater than that.
Yes. of jesus you can't sin any greater than that yes you there is no sin on earth that's greater than
the murder that of the son of god they create they committed the greatest most disgusting
vilest most revolting sin ever known to mankind they murdered the Son of God and they deserved the destruction
they got on 70 AD and they deserve all that has happened to them since 70 AD
they blame it on anti-semitism but they won't blame their own sin for their fate because they're rebellious to this very day.
There is no greater sin in God's eyes than the rejection of his grace, the rejection of the gospel, the rejection of Jesus, and the mistreatment of his son.
Jesus may have asked his father to forgive them.
They know not what they do, but the father didn't have to forgive them.
That's true.
Jesus asked, but the Father didn't have to.
And he didn't.
He didn't forgive them.
He destroyed their city.
He destroyed their temple.
He attacked them with vengeance.
The tribulation experienced by the Jews in 70 AD was unparalleled
and will never be equal again.
So based on this passage, Rick,
can we say that the great tribulation
has already happened?
For the Jews, yes.
Yes.
They will suffer tribulation, but they will never again suffer anything as great as 70 AD.
That was the fury of Almighty God unleashed against him for killing his son.
But even after the crucifixion of Christ, the Jews continued to commit sins.
They accumulated more guilt.
They continued to attract divine wrath upon themselves.
And they continue today in their wickedness and opposition to King Jesus and his kingdom.
And, you know, there's something significant to say there in that there were Christians
that stayed in Jerusalem that entire period of time, all the way up until 70 AD.
They could have left.
They could have.
You had 40 years to leave, right? It could have left they've could have been you had 40 years to leave right it could
have left they and some probably did you know we know some apostles went and preached in different
parts of the world but there was a christian presence all the way up until right at the very
end right yes correct to me that's god's mercy that That's God's grace that the gospel maintained a presence in the city of Jerusalem all the way up until destruction came.
So Jerusalem had the opportunity to repent over and over again.
Why did the people stay?
Why did the Christians stay?
I believe God had them stay there for the purpose of bringing
as many people into the kingdom before judgment fell yes and doc as we as we learned in the study
of the book of Acts the Jews mistreated the Christian Jews the Jewish Christians, because they had believed in the name of Jesus. They were Jerusalem
citizens. And for decades, they persecuted them. They went into their homes and dragged them out
into the streets. They took their property. They plundered their goods. And yet the Christians
stayed there. Why? Because they were gluttons for punishment?
no, because they were continually
presenting the gospel to the Jews
and then 78 AD
God said I've had enough of this stuff
I'm going to burn that place down
and folks
you can go to Jerusalem and you can waste your money
walking around on the streets of Jerusalem thinking that you're in the biblical city
and you're in a tourist trap.
That's right.
You might as well go to south of the border.
It's a tourist trap.
A lot of folks on here may not know where south of the border is right
so but it's like this uh makeshift mexican village up in uh was it is it virginia or
uh north carolina i forget but it's right along the interstate here and there's like a whole bunch
of mexican restaurants and they got a little uh like carnival there and everything and it's right along the interstate here, and there's like a whole bunch of Mexican restaurants,
and they've got a little carnival there and everything, and it's south of the border.
You see the billboards coming up?
Is it still there?
I don't even know if it still exists.
So we stop there every once in a while if we're on 35. But, yeah, it's no more a Mexican city than Jerusalem is a holy city.
So that brings us to the topic of today.
The severity of a punishment God meted out to the Jews is a perpetual reminder and warning to all who despise and reject the gospel yes it is a warning to be it's for the christians
it's a warning to be prepared for trials and tribulations
because we live in a fallen world awaiting the return of jesus and i do believe that there will be future
tribulation there's tribulation on the earth right now go talk to go talk to the gazan christians go
talk to the lebanese christians yes the jews killed a lebanese church pastor yesterday and his entire family. Yeah. Ask those Christians who live in Jerusalem.
Yes.
How many times they get spit on by the Jews.
To this day.
There are consequences for turning away from God and rejecting the Messiah.
Again, I can't tell you today that there's going to be a, quote, great tribulation.
Jesus said there will be great tribulation okay but he's talking here about about the fall of of
Jerusalem and yet in other verses he tells his disciples you're going to be
hated you're going to be persecuted so doc this is a thought I've had in my mind today.
My entire period of time as a Christian, I've been a Christian since 1978.
And I was, you know, I got saved in, you know, church that believed in the rapture and all that kind of stuff okay and I attended Pentecostal charismatic
and non-denominational and Southern Baptist churches I've been you know an Anglican I've
been around okay the Anglicans were the only ones that didn't believe in this secret rapture and all this stuff but i've had this indoctrinated
in my mind i worked for cbn i worked for tbn so you know this stuff has been indoctrinated in me
what that there is going to be a time of great tribulation in the future and what has been the
the debate will christians go through the great Tribulation or will they be raptured before it?
And those of us who have said, we don't believe in a secret rapture, we've said, yes, you're going
to go through the Great Tribulation. Here's where I'm at today. Doc, I'm not even convinced there is
a time of the Great Tribulation. I don't think so think so okay so what have we been doing to ourselves
we have been scaring ourselves we have been telling ourselves scary stories about the future
oh no i i don't know what's it going to be like when the Great Tribulation starts?
Am I going to hold up?
What's going to happen if they take my family from me and persecute them and kill them in the Great Tribulation?
Listen, you know what that's doing to us?
It's robbing us of the joy of the Great Resurrection.
That's true.
We're afraid of the great tribulation, and we don't have the joy of the great resurrection.
Let's stop scaring ourselves with these Christian Zionist Halloween stories.
Let's get full of joy about the coming of the lord
yes there's going to be tribulation what is tribulation trials persecution afflict yes
but it's going on now yes it's happening right now in in gaza in palestine in
in lebanon it's happening in many countries.
Christians are being persecuted, being tortured.
Verse 22, unless those days had been shortened, no flesh would have been saved.
But for the sake of the chosen ones, those days will be shortened.
Again, I've got a dog hair here in my mind.
I have always believed that meant this tribulation in the future will be so great that God would shorten the days.
Doc, as of today, I can't say that's true.
I mean, it can be applied, but does this verse, it's being applied for the destruction of Jerusalem.
That's what it was about.
Jesus said, look, the Roman army is going to go on such a rampage that your father in heaven is going to have to cut it off
or nobody in Judea is going to be left alive.
When that kind of bloodlust gets going with soldiers,
once they've killed everybody in Jerusalemusalem there's a possibility they're
going to just fan out into the into the mountainsides and track down jews who fled to
the mountains yes and god cut the day short it means he divinely intervened. And actually, Titus, the Roman general, actually wrote of this divine intervention where he withdrew.
Yes.
And so there came a day that the Roman military said, that's enough.
Let's go.
Yes.
We've destroyed it.
I touched on this last week.
When Titus, Titus didn't want to destroy the temple.
He did not want to destroy the temple.
This is Josephus relating this.
But what happened is the Roman soldiers had had you know
they've been in a siege for three or four years and they finally have they're
finally able to occupy Jerusalem and there's such a lust on their part to
destroy and everything it tells Josephus tells that a soldier Roman soldier
through a through a torch into the window of the temple, and under direct
orders by Titus not to touch the temple, not to do it.
And Josephus describes it this way.
He says, it's as if God directed the soldier's hand to throw the torch into the temple.
And somebody asked, how does a stone temple catch on fire
all the interior of the temple had wood paneling on it yes you know and so it caught fire really
quickly and you get that temperature up enough it'll cause stone to crack and everything else
but the fact that josephus said it was as if God directed the soldier's hand to set the temple on fire planted the thoughts in the roman military leaders minds
you've done enough destruction yes you can go you can leave and the elect when it speaks of the
elect the elect were the jewish christians who had believed on the name of jesus
yeah it's not the jewish nation that's the elect no that's the way the dispensationalists would say
tossing it out in the future no that the elect were the jewish believers who remained in jerusalem god spared the city to allow the elect to escape. Doctor, the divine motive
for shortening the days of
the tribulation in 70 AD was
to preserve the elect,
the Christian Jews,
to keep them alive
so that they
would survive to continue
spreading the gospel.
That's right.
All right. Hey, let's go to the Lord's table's right. All right.
Hey, let's go to the Lord's table.
Amen.
Well, we appreciate you being here with us today.
And as usual on Fridays, we participate in the Lord's Supper.
And so if you've got bread and either grape juice or red wine for the elements of communion,
that's sufficient for today.
Who qualifies for communion?
As Rick mentioned earlier today,
if you've made a confession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior,
and you've been baptized in water according to the scriptures,
then you can of great conscience participate in the Lord's Supper.
But that's assuming that you've got a clean heart, clean hands, and a clean mind in approaching the Lord's Supper, but that's assuming that you've got clean heart,
clean hands, and a clean mind
in approaching the Lord's table.
And so, Rick, if you'd pray for us right now
that anything standing between us and the Father right now
would be removed
and that we would come into this most holy of sacraments
with righteousness
and not any righteousness for our own. And, Doc, before right and doctor for prayer as one notice here in
the chat Patricia asked a question could these be dual prophecies and yes we got to consider
the possibility so many times prophecies serve dual purposes they happen at one time and then they happen later and they're fulfilled in another way.
So, yes, we have to consider that.
But it applies to us in the sense that, yes, the saints, the elect, will be persecuted in the last days
and God will cut the days short,
and he will save the elect.
We know that,
because we know what he did in 70 AD.
Right.
He would not allow the persecution to continue,
that it destroyed the elect.
Amen.
He divinely intervened.
Okay, so let's pray.
Father,
Father, we come to you uh
asking you father to forgive our sins uh search our hearts and show us anything that is not pleasing to you in our thoughts and words and deeds and And Father, we repent. We ask for
forgiveness. We ask that you cleanse us
with and through
by the blood of Jesus Christ
that can not only
remove the sin, but it removes
the stain
of the sin
and make us white as snow.
Father, we praise you
and thank you for your kindness and your mercy.
In Jesus' name, amen.
Amen.
Well, if you have the elements of the Lord's table,
we're going to pray over those right now.
And I encourage you to participate in the Lord's Supper.
Don't hold back because of some guilt that Satan's trying to throw on you.
If you've confessed your sins, things are all right between you and the Lord.
If you've done it with a clear heart and clear conscience, I just want to assure you,
don't let Satan try to throw guilt on you.
You're more than welcome to participate in the Lord's team.
So let's pray over the elements of communion
and let's believe God to move
in this most holy of sacraments today.
Almighty God, in your tender mercy,
you gave your only begotten Son, Jesus Christ,
to suffer death upon the cross for our redemption.
He offered himself and made once for all time
a perfect and sufficient sacrifice
for the sins of the whole world.
He instituted this remembrance of his passion and death,
which he commanded us to continue until he comes again.
Father, we ask you to bless and sanctify with your word and Holy Spirit
these gifts of bread and wine,
that we may partake of his most blessed body and blood.
Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed once for all upon the cross
therefore let us keep the feast hallelujah on the night that he was
betrayed our Lord Jesus took bread and when he had given thanks he broke it and
gave it to his disciples saying take eat this is my body which is given for you
do this in remembrance of me
the body of our Lord Jesus Christ which was given for you preserve your body and soul to
everlasting life this is the bread of heaven take and eat in remembrance that Christ died for you
after supper Jesus took the cup
and when he had given thanks
he gave it to them saying
drink this all of you
for this is my blood of the new covenant
which is shed for you and for many
for the forgiveness of sins
whenever you drink it
do this in remembrance of me
thank you Lord hallelujah the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ this in remembrance of me.
Thank you, Lord.
Hallelujah.
The blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, which was shed for you, preserved your body and soul to
everlasting life. Drink the
cup of salvation in remembrance
that Christ's blood was shed for you.
Be thankful.
Behold the Lamb of God. Behold Him
who takes away the sins of the world.
And blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb. This sacrament is the Lamb of God. Behold him who takes away the sins of the world. And blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.
This sacrament is the gift of God for the people of God.
Feed on him by faith with thanksgiving that Christ died for you.
Glory to God.
Hallelujah.
Praise the Lord.
It's always a wonderful privilege, Rick, to both participate and to serve the Lord's Supper.
Amen.
It's a humbling experience when you consider hundreds of people from all over the world right now are participating in the Lord's Supper with us live.
Amen.
As a young preacher, if you would have told me that, you know, there's going to come a day where you're you're
just going to be able to sit in your office and you're going to be able to participate in
communion with people living in Russia living in South Korea living in the Philippines simultaneously
it's amazing in it it is it's amazing and in the future with virtual reality, when it becomes common, we will see each other.
Yes.
We'll be in a room together.
That's going to be different.
Yes.
Okay.
Well, listen, everybody, you have a blessed weekend spend time with the
Lord be quiet turn off
the world noise
and be still
and listen to his voice
amen
because
the next day the world will still be making
noise
you won't miss anything
it's not like you missed something just We'll still be making noise. You won't miss anything. Yeah, that's true.
It's not like you missed something.
Just turn it off and be quiet with your Father and let Him speak to you.
Amen.
And my blessings on you that all goes well.
And the Lord answers your prayers and meets your needs.
And His riches fill your life in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Well, on that note, we wish you a great weekend. Get alone with the Lord this weekend, as Rick said,
and we'll see you back here Monday morning, bright and early, 8 a.m. on the East Coast
