was published by the New York Post. Here's the headline. Jeffrey Epstein said, if he revealed what I know about both candidates, the 2016 election would have been canceled. That statement was made by Epstein's brother. And this is what the Jerusalem, I mean, excuse me, this is what the New York Post published. This is several days ago. Jeffrey Epstein had information on Donald Trump and the Clintons that was so incendiary, it could have upended the 2016 presidential election if made public, according to the dead financier's younger brother.

Now, this is a quote from Mark Epstein. It was published by the New York Post on Wednesday. And this is what his brother is saying. He's saying, here is a direct quote from my brother, Jeffrey. If I said what I know about both candidates, they'd have to cancel the election. That's what Jeffrey told me in 2016, recalling a conversation he had with his brother about the showdown between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. Of course, his brother did not reveal anything else. In fact, he implies that his brother, Jeffrey, did not tell him what he knew that was so damaging that the 2016 election would have to be called off

if the public knew the truth about Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton and Jeffrey Epstein and a lot of teenage girls. So I want to go to the next story. Jeffrey Epstein trafficked a teenage girl to prominent U.S. politicians and world leaders, and even a well-known prime minister, and then made her detail the sexual encounters so that he could potentially blackmail the men, according to new unsealed court documents. The accuser, identified in the 2014 filing by the pseudonym Jane Doe III, was forced

to have sex with a host of powerful men. That list included numerous prominent American politicians, powerful business executives, foreign presidents, a well-known prime minister, and other world leaders. Epstein required the girl to describe the events that she had with these men so that he could potentially blackmail them. The accuser was first approached by Epstein's madam, Ghislaine Maxwell, in 1999 when she was 15 years old. Over the next three years, Epstein turned the teen into a sex slave, sexually abused her in locations all over the world,

including aboard his private jets. Epstein also sexually trafficked the then-minor Jane Doe, making her available for sex to politically connected and financially powerful people. Epstein's goal was in lending Jane Doe III to his influential pals. The purpose of it was to ingratiate himself with them for financial gain and to obtain potential blackmail information.

In the documents, Jane Doe III claimed that her rights under the Federal Crimes Victims Rights Act were violated when the U.S. government entered into a secret non-prosecution agreement with Epstein regarding sex trafficking crimes. Instead, the millionaire was allowed to plead guilty in 2008 to account of soliciting prostitution involving a single victim and served 13 months in a county jail work release program. That was Palm Beach County. And Epstein was charged in 2019 with federal child trafficking counts, but died by suicide awaiting trial.

Well, who was Epstein's lawyer in that 2008 case his his lawyer was was dershowitz alan dershowitz and dershowitz arranged for epstein to get a minor slap on the wrist uh he's yes he was given a county jail not a state or federal prison sentence he was given a time in the county jail and they released him every day and allowed him to go to his house where he continued to run his sex trafficking operation but that was all arranged by alan dershowitz and who is dershowitz well you, one of his clients is Donald Trump. He's also a regular commentator on Fox News. It's a small world, you know. All these guys know each other.

NBC News reporting House Republicans move toward holding Hunter Biden in contempt of Congress. The Republicans are going to make a formal move next week on January 10. Here's a brief report from MSNBC regarding this contempt of Congress action against Hunter Biden. Republicans on Capitol Hill are moving forward now with contempt proceedings against Hunter Biden after he defied that subpoena to testify on the Hill last month. Let's go to the Hill and NBC's Julie Sirkin. Julie, what can we expect? Ana, well, this news first reported by our colleagues Ryan Noble, Sarah Fitzpatrick, and Rebecca Kaplan. The committees on the Oversight Judiciary Committee, Republicans there,

planning to take this step. That is not necessarily a surprise to us, but it is an escalation in their investigation of Hunter Biden, in their impeachment inquiry as well, and to the president. They will hold a markup next Wednesday in the Oversight and Judiciary Committees, marking up a resolution to hold Hunter Biden in contempt of Congress. Remember, that needs a full House vote in order to actually pass and hold Hunter Biden in contempt because he did not show up and testify before the committee behind closed doors in early December. You'll remember we were all surprised to see Hunter Biden arrive at the Capitol, speaking outside, making a statement, but not going inside for that closed-door deposition.

His lawyers said he would be more than happy to testify in a public setting. That is not something the Republicans on these committees have said they will accept. So they are moving forward for this contempt markup in the panels before a later yet to be announced full House vote. Again, this is something Republicans have said they will do. They also plan to come out with two full reports indicating why they believe Hunter Biden should be held in contempt. Ana, I should note this is coincidental. The committee says this is because the House is just returning next Wednesday for their full first day. But it does come just a day before Hunter Biden is expected to be arraigned in Los Angeles on those federal tax charges stemming from the special counsel investigation.
