American Reserves.
Faith. Wisdom. Prepared. There's always a big difference in news headlines around the world.
Right now, here in America, news headlines are focused on presidential candidates calling each other names.
In Great Britain today, the Daily Mail's headline is on a possible nuclear attack on the city of London.
And many European newspapers published articles about the European Union urging Europeans to stockpile food in preparation for World War III.
What a difference.
Yes.
I'm Rick Wiles.
This is True News for Friday, November 1st, 2024.
Let's begin our analysis and commentary of today's world news with this Daily Mail headline.
What if?
What if Putin did push the button and nuke London?
A terrifying minute-by-minute portrait of the apocalyptic horrors of a 9,000-mile-per-hour missile smashing into Trafalgar Square.
Now, the article is too long for us to read.
It literally is a minute-by-minute account of what would happen, Doc, from the time that President Putin would authorize the launch of an ICBM to hit London to the aftermath of the blast in London. You can read it for yourself at Daily Mail, dailymail.com.
It's chilling. When you read what experts say would be the devastation, how many miles, the radius around London in which everybody would be killed, and then after that, how many people, the air would be sucked out of their lungs.
I mean, it's a terrifying article.
So what prompted the Daily Mail
to write an article like that
the day after Halloween?
Yeah, you would think
if you're going to do it,
do it October 31st.
Well, maybe this next article.
And this is Newsweek.
It's not a European news organization.
It's American,
but they're reporting that Europeans have been told to stockpile food in case of war with Russia.
And this actually did come out yesterday, and they updated it early this morning.
Well, let's take a look at what Newsweek is reporting.
So people living in the European Union should stockpile emergency supplies in the event of war breaking out or another major
emergency, which they didn't clarify. A new report has advised the report on Europe's civilian and
military preparedness published on Wednesday was written by former Finnish President Sali
Nenisto in his capacity as special advisor to the president of the European Commission. Now,
the report notes that the EU was not prepared for
either the COVID-19 pandemic or Russia's aggression against Ukraine, and that it needs to move from
reaction to proactive preparedness. As part of this strategy, the EU should advise households
to be prepared to be self-sufficient for a minimum of 72 hours in the event of an emergency.
He had advised his member states to provide its citizens with guidelines on stockpiling,
evacuations, and how to access emergency services, among other things.
A survey cited in the report outlines various essential supplies for households to have in case of an emergency, including stockpiles of food, drinks and medicine, a flashlight and a battery-powered radio.
While the report does not cite Russian aggression as the only possible threat, it cites it as a major one.
He said, we do not have a clear plan on what the EU will do in the event of an armed aggression against a member state. The threat of war posed by Russia to European security forces
has to address this as a centerpiece of our preparedness
without undermining the work to prepare for other major threats, the report said.
Well, I have news for the Finnish president, former Finnish president.
You better prepare for more than 72 hours.
If we're talking nukes in downtown London, Trafalgar
Square, absolutely. They think this
is just going to be a long weekend, Rick.
It's hard for me
to accept that
officials are thinking this way.
I'm confident
they're not, Doc. Their bunkers
are well stocked, okay?
More than 72 hours.
I guarantee that. Yeah, more like 72
months. I want to
put up on the screen
the screenshot of the report.
This is the report that came out in Europe this
week, Safer Together, Strengthening Europe's
Civilian and Military Preparedness
and Readiness.
So this is the report that's telling
people on the European continent you need to start
stockpiling food.
Get this together.
Now, if you saw the beginning of today's program, American Reserves has an election day offer
for Americans of 15% off everything site-wide.
So this is our pre-election chaos promotion.
Get ready.
Yes.
So that's what this is.
It's our pre-election chaos promotion.
15% off preparedness foods from American reserves.
It's actually site-wide.
So it includes the water filters, everything on the site.
It goes on through the 6th, the day after the election.
The day after the election.
All right.
The day after.
So, Doc, you don't believe in coincidences.
Neither do I.
The Daily Mail in London comes out with an article that says just what would happen if Putin nuked London.
Now, it's a very long, detailed article.
If a human wrote it, for me, that article would take a couple weeks because of the research you would have to do.
You'd have to be calling scientists and military officials to verify every single
thing. Now, if AI wrote it, it was written in about 30 seconds. It's possible it was written
by AI. But if a human did it, it would take weeks to write that article and verify all the facts.
That's not the point. The point is the Daily Mail comes out with an article speculating just what would it look like on the day London is destroyed by a new.
That article was published about the same time this European Union report comes out saying you need to stockpile food.
You need to get ready.
There could be a war.
Just be ready.
Get the food ready.
Is it a coincidence?
No.
Are they expecting the war tomorrow?
No.
What they're doing, Doc, is that the governments of Europe, they're working with the news media.
Yes. To prep the minds of the general population to accept the reality that there's going to be a nuclear war.
Right.
That's what they're doing.
They're being primed for that.
And I still believe they're expecting the war to be five, six, seven years from now.
And they know it's going to take that long to get people out of their comfort zone.
To start making plans, to start actually purchasing food and water filtration equipment and so forth.
They know it's going to take time.
And they know that very few citizens will prepare for the long haul.
But I think they're hoping we might be able to save some on the outskirts of the major cities.
We're not going to save anybody in London.
We're not going to save anybody in Paris.
We're not going to save anybody in Brussels or Berlin.
But maybe out in Birmingham.
Right. Maybe, you know, the rural communities of France.
Maybe the mountainous regions of Germany.
We might be able to save some of our people.
But we're going to lose the cities.
They know that.
But they're not going to tell you that.
No.
But they're telling you in this article, hey, guess what?
If you're down here in Trafalgar Square, well, let me tell you that no but they're telling you in this article hey guess what if you're down here in trafalgar square well let me tell you it's going to be more than trafalgar square has taken
yes that radius of just one blast is going to take out a massive chunk of great britain and that's
assuming a direct strike on london itself yes know, we've been talking for years about the possible tsunami bomb.
The tsunami just takes over the whole thing.
They do a tsunami torpedo.
They detonate a nuclear blast in the sea.
It builds up a tsunami wall 1,500 feet high.
It goes over top of Great Britain and just keeps them going.
Right.
The entire island is gone.
Scotland,
all of it is gone.
So,
the governments
are working with the media to
prep people for
World War III.
Here in the United States,
they're not doing
anything.
It hasn't started yet.
I think, Doc, all through 2025, these articles are going to appear more frequently.
You're going to see a ramp up of scary articles. What's it like to be inside a nuclear blast?
Okay?
Do your eyeballs pop out of your socket?
I mean, there's going to be these kind of stories.
And they're always going to be coupled with, it's wise to have 72 hours of food.
72 hours.
72 hours. You better.
72 months.
And even that's not enough.
We're talking about the destruction of the food supply of a nation.
Maybe the world.
If a nuclear winter settles in, we have a global famine that could last decades.
So that's what I see happening.
The Europeans and the Americans and the Russians and the Chinese all know there's a world war
underway, and it's going to culminate in several years.
And there are people that are going to die.
A lot of people are going to die.
You need to make up your mind you're not one of them.
You make up your mind through faith in Jesus Christ,
you are not one of the people who are going to be incinerated in a nuclear blast
or laying on the ground flip-flopping around like a cockroach sprayed with an insecticide
because you got hit with a biological agent.
Make up your mind that you're not going to do that.
I'm opting out of it.
I'm going to be hidden in Christ.
And I'm going to be as close to Jesus Christ as I can be.
That is my safe place.
That's my bunker.
My bunker is in Jesus, in Christ.
That's my bunker. That's where I'm going to hide, in the secret place.
Well, Rick, how quickly do you think that this whole thing is escalating right now?
Way too fast. I don't like how fast it's going because I keep, I want to, you know, what I've been telling you since I came back from Myrtle Beach, a week of prayer, I believe the Lord said we have six years to prepare.
And yet he also said, what I heard in my spirit was these are not going to be easy years.
They're going to be very tense, very frightening. Things are going to happen that you're going to be very tense, very frightening.
Things are going to happen that you're going to think.
Remember him telling me, things are going to happen that you're going to think.
It's here now.
But it will pull back and it won't.
The full explosion of World War III will not take place yet.
They'll pull back.
Yeah.
It's sort of like with Joseph preparing for the famine.
You know, he had seven years to prepare.
And really, you get right down to it.
Joseph saved the world, not just Egypt.
He saved the world with the divine inspiration of preparation that the Lord had given him.
And so –
How many months did he save food for?
Well, he saved for seven years.
And how many months is that?
Well, that's 84 months.
So not 72 hours.
See, I just...
He didn't go to Pharaoh and said, we better have 72 hours worth of food.
No, we better have seven years worth of food.
84 months worth of food.
And we've got seven years to prepare.
So I believe the Lord is telling me we have six years to prepare.
Do you have food? How much food do you have? How many years? Think in terms of years. How many
years can you survive on the food that you have right now if there's absolutely no food anywhere how much how long can you go think about
that so let's take a look at uh newsweek u.s way's nato allies offer to shoot down russian missiles Ukraine. Just let that sink in. It's Poland's
offer. Yes.
Hey, we got an idea.
We'll shoot down Russian missiles over
Ukraine. Let us do it.
That'll make them mad.
Not
Russian missiles over Poland.
Russian missiles over Ukraine.
So Poland's going to get involved.
And if Poland gets involved, Poland is in NATO.
And if Russia responds to Poland and hits Poland, then NATO goes to war with Russia.
Let's take a look at what Newsweek's reported.
So bipartisan leaders of the U.S. Helsinki Commission are pushing President Joe Biden
to approve Warsaw, Poland's proposed scheme to shoot down Russian missiles,
according to a letter sent on October 28th and obtained by The Hill. The letter sent by
Representatives Joe Wilson of South Carolina and Steve Cohen of Tennessee asked President Biden to
grant Poland the authority to intercept and neutralize missiles over Ukraine, particularly
those threatening to encroach upon Polish airspace.
Now, Polish Foreign Minister Wroclaw Sikorski introduced the idea of extending the country's
air defense in an interview with the Financial Times. This occurred back in September. Sikorski
told the newspaper that Poland and other countries neighboring Ukraine have what he described as a
duty to shoot down Russian missiles.
Now, the Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe, also known as the Helsinki Commission,
is a U.S. government commission that promotes human rights, military security, and economic cooperation in 57 countries in Europe, Eurasia, and North America.
It has nine commissioners who are members of the Senate, nine are members of
the House of Representatives, and three are executive branch officials, according to the
website. One other thing they have in common, they like blowing things up. They're wanting
this war to get going. Well, let's take a look at Nikkei News Agency in Tokyo.
North Korean troops in Ukraine demand an appropriate response, says the vice
chairman of the European Union, Joseph Burrell.
Just when I was starting to like him on his attitude toward what's happening in Gaza,
then this pops up.
I know. He's excellent when we're talking about Gaza and Israel, Doc, in fairness to Mr. Burrell, I've never met the man, and I've pondered this, like, well, why are you right on this one and you're wrong on this one?
He would say, well, Mr. Burkhardt, I'm right on both of them.
Here's why.
Israel has invaded Gaza and is killing Gaza and the Palestinian people, and I'm against it.
Israel needs to go back over to Israel and leave them alone.
Right. I'm in agreement with you, Mr. Merrill.
And the Russians have crossed the line into Ukraine and are killing the Ukrainians, and that's wrong, and they need to go back to Russia.
That's his position.
That's how he would justify the two positions.
Okay.
Okay?
So, I want to focus on what he said today, that the North Korean, the presence of North Korean troops, if they go into Ukraine, demands an appropriate response.
What did we say yesterday?
That if North Korean troops cross over into Ukraine, that's going to be an open door for NATO to go into Ukraine.
To send NATO troops into Ukraine and fight the North Koreans.
And when NATO troops, meaning American and French and British, all 29 nations of NATO, when those soldiers are shooting North korean troops all hell's going to break loose
on the korean peninsula absolutely yeah it will and then you've got you've really got a world war
then financial times south korea weighs arming ukraine after north korean deployment Ukraine after North Korean deployment.
Doc, they're determined to get into it.
Right.
Now, they're indirectly supplying arms to Ukraine already.
Well, they say they're defensive.
Right.
But now they're going to sell offensive weapons.
But they sell offensive weapons to countries like Germany and Italy and everything.
And those weapons end up in Ukraine.
But the article— Can you be shot with a defensive gun?
Or an offensive gun.
Or an offensive gun.
Which way does it point?
So South Korea's conservative president, Yoon, is weighing directly providing arms to Ukraine,
a potentially consequential shift in the conflict in response to North Korea's deployment of troops to the Russian front line.
President Yoon and other senior officials in Seoul have described
Pyongyang's direct participation in the conflict as a threat to South Korea's security, offering
North Korean troops valuable battlefield experience. I talked to you about that the other day.
President Yoon has vowed not to sit idle in response to the North Korean deployment.
His office confirmed this week that Seoul intended to send a delegation to Ukraine
to monitor North Korean forces following a call on Tuesday between President Yoon and his Ukrainian counterpart, President Zelensky of Ukraine.
So this is about ready to really bubble over real quick.
And it could happen in the next hour.
Yes, it's tense.
This is changing day by day, and it's that tense. This is changing day by
day, and it's worsening.
We've got six more years of this.
Right. That's what's
hard for me to, for me, my
mind to process. I'm convinced
the Lord
affirmed
to me, Rick, you've got
six years to prepare for the
grand finale of this war.
But it's hard for me to visualize, Doc, that this kind of tension is going to continue without a massive explosion.
Right.
And then keep in mind, too, we're familiar with modern warfare.
Tanks, planes, battleships, things like that.
In this coming war, there's going to be weapons and tragedy like we've never imagined before.
That's right.
Technology that we don't even know about.
Remember the articles we read at the beginning of the week going back years ago?
One-fourth of the armies will have robotic soldiers by
2030.
And some of those articles I quoted...
Go back to 2010.
Yes.
So they've been building the robotic armies, getting ready for 2030.
Yon Hap News Agency, Pyongyang to bolster readiness against nuclear retaliation.
Yes. Pyongyang to bolster readiness against nuclear retaliation. Yes, North Korean Foreign Minister Choi said on Friday the current situation on the Korean
Peninsula requires Pyongyang to make efforts to bolster its readiness against nuclear retaliation,
noting that North Korea will not change its nuclear policy.
Now, the foreign minister made the remark during her meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, according to a report by Sputnik, which came amid North Korean troops' possible participation in Russia's war with Ukraine. future threats and challenges require more than ever to strengthen our modern strategic offensive nuclear weapons, as well as improve our readiness for a nuclear response.
The North Korean official also said the situation on the Korean peninsula can become explosive at
any moment, as the military alliance of the United States and South Korea is turning into
a military alliance with a nuclear component. Now, Choi also said Pyongyang is also confident of Russia's victory in its war with Ukraine
and that North Korea will always stand firmly next to our Russian comrades, the Russian
news agency added.
In response, the Russian foreign minister noted that the very close cooperation has
been established between Pyongyang and Moscow in terms of their military
and security services. So the foreign minister of North Korea is in Russia right now,
and we reported on this yesterday. But now we're getting some indication here of what it is that
North Korea and Russia are up to. they are entering into a mutual defense pact.
It's basically what it is at this point.
If somebody attacks Russia, North Korea fights.
If somebody attacks North Korea, Russia fights.
Right.
So you understand if the U.S. attacks North Korea, Russia would be obligated to enter into the Korean War.
By the way, the Korean War is still ongoing.
A lot of people don't realize it.
It's just a hole.
Yeah, it's just an armistice.
Yeah, a truce.
It's a ceasefire.
It's about to uncease.
Before we switch over to World War III in the Middle East,
I want to encourage you to contact our good friends at gold co folks the economy is
so um precarious it just the slightest change can bring disruptions to the economy i noticed
what i've something and i've not brought it out this week, Doc, looking at foreign press.
I was in Japanese newspapers yesterday, and I saw Volkswagen shutting down, I think, three of
their plants. Yes. All right. Volkswagen is in trouble. Okay. They're shutting down three
Volkswagen plants in Germany.
Plants that have been open since World War II, mind you.
Yes, since World War II. Today, I read in a Japanese paper that Nissan is cutting production of Nissan vehicles inside the USA, because they have Nissan plants here, they're cutting by 30% because of the drought of sales for cars and trucks in the United States.
It's dropped that much for them?
Yes.
That's interesting.
So the car industry is in trouble.
It's in trouble.
I mean, I just got contacted yesterday by a local dealer.
Hey, Rick, would you like to sell your car to us?
No, I'm driving it.
Well, we're looking for cars, used cars.
Okay?
They're looking for used cars.
They're not selling new cars.
They're selling older cars.
So they're out there scouting because people aren't buying the new cars.
They're buying used cars.
That's interesting.
Yes.
I'm just telling you that there are signs in the economy of major pullback after the selection, especially after Christmas.
The Christmas sales are going to be dismal in American retailers, absolutely dismal.
Most retailers cannot survive the next year if they have a dismal Christmas season.
And you're going to see a lot of retailers closing their doors going into 2025.
You're seeing it in the restaurant industry.
Bankruptcy after bankruptcy after bankruptcy of restaurants.
Why?
Because of the food costs.
You can't go out to eat anymore.
Right.
I can't afford it, Doc.
I can't afford the prices in the restaurant.
I just can't do it.
Yeah.
It's too shocking to me.
I'm like, I just can't do it i yeah it's too shocking to me i'm like i just can't do this
right i mean even when value meals don't have value anymore while we were just talking here
just a few minutes ago the october jobs report came out the u.s economy only added 12 000 jobs
uh in in the month of october only 12 000 jobs we're talking to nations for the whole country
for the whole country that's the lowest job creation number since COVID, since the beginning of COVID. So that tells you
where we're at. In October, mind you, October when you should be ramping up, retailers should
be hiring people right now, adding on to get ready for Christmas, Christmas sales and everything.
But no, that's not the case. So there is something happening in the economy.
Whether it's Harris or Trump that gets in the White House, there's going to be a reckoning.
And next week, if there is no clear winner on November 5th on Tuesday, and if this thing
drags out for weeks and then a month, two months, even going into January, the economy
is going to tighten up.
That's why I'm encouraging you to place a portion of your savings, your assets, your portfolio in precious metals.
And the best people you can talk to are the folks at GoldCo.
Give them a call.
Tell them that you heard about GoldCo on True News.
There's the phone number, 844-960-GOLD.
844-960-GOLD.
You can go to the website, truenews4gold.com.
And if you're watching the screen, there's a QR code that you can snap with your phone
and ask them for the 2025 Gold and Silver
Report.
They'll send it to you free.
Postage is paid.
It won't cost you anything.
It's just free information about investing in precious metals.
So if you've never done it, now's the time to educate yourself. And if you qualify, if you are able to make a purchase in precious metals that fits, that meets Gold Co.'s conditions, they will do an instant 10% match in silver.
So ask them about it.
Find out if you qualify.
I want to get back to World War III.
Folks, I'm going to be talking about World War
III for the next six years. While World War III is going on. Yes. I'm going to give you a report
day after day after day. This is World War III. It's World War III. World War III. Get your soul
ready. Get your heart ready. Get your home ready. Get your house ready. Get your family ready. It's
World War III. Over and over and over, I'm going to tell you.
I'm going to stay on this until I can get as many people awake and aware and preparing for it as possible.
I'm doing my part to get people through the war.
This next one, this is Times of Israel.
Iran said threatening definitive
painful response to Israel
likely before the U.S. election.
Now this is
article in Times of Israel is based
on some reports from Axios.com
and CNN.
And so here we will go
to Axios. Iran preparing major
retaliatory strike from Iraq within days.
Yes.
Who makes this suggestion?
Israeli intelligence.
Yes.
So is it accurate?
I don't know.
Or is it war propaganda?
Is the world being told Iran's going to attack Israel.
Israel's justified in a first strike against Iran.
We don't know.
Maybe it's accurate.
We don't know.
But we'll tell you this is what Axios is reporting.
So Israeli intelligence suggests that Iran is preparing to attack Israel from Iraqi territory in the coming days,
possibly before the U.S. presidential election.
Israel and Iran have been engaged in an escalating tit-for-tat for weeks, carrying the attack out
through pro-Iranian militias in Iraq and not directly from Iranian territory could be an
attempt by Iran to avoid another Israeli attack against strategic targets in Iran. Now, the
sources said that Israeli intelligence suggests the attack is expected to be carried
out from Iraq using a large number of drones and ballistic missiles.
Iran could quickly put its preparations into action if Tehran decides to strike soon, but
the U.S. doesn't know if that decision has been made.
That's according to a U.S. official.
Now, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard
Corps commander Hussein salami said on Thursday that Israel made a mistake when it attacked Iran
last week and stressed that Iran's response will be different from any scenario Israel might expect
so that's the first uh I first clues that we're getting that it could be a very short window that we see this conflict escalating, maybe even over this weekend.
It would have to be this weekend.
It would have to be from today no later than Monday if this is accurate before the election.
So we may see another explosion of warfare between Israel and Iran this weekend.
But if this is accurate, then Iraq is being brought into the world war.
We're just adding a new country now.
Yes.
Well, they were kind of already in it because they had been firing into Israel for a while.
So now Israel will be justified in bombing Iraq.
Yes.
This is the way world wars develop.
Get started.
Now, in parallel with that story, we also have this story from CNN.
It says Iran to carry out definitive and painful response to Israeli strikes.
Israel's recent attacks in Iran will be met with a definitive and painful response that
will likely come before the U.S. presidential vote, a high-ranking source told CNN. The remarks signal a departure from Iran's initial attempts to downplay the severity of the
strikes carried out by Israel back on October 25th, which marked the first time Israel has
openly acknowledged striking Iranian targets. Now, it says that the response of the Islamic
Republic of Iran to the aggression of the Zionist regime will be definitive and painful, the source, who is familiar with Iran's deliberations, said.
Although the source did not provide an exact date for the attack, they said it will probably take place before the day of the U.S. presidential election.
So if we're to believe the source, then you have less than four days.
Okay, now we're going to go to the New York Times,
and the New York Times says it's going to happen after the election.
Right.
Okay.
So the New York Times says two top Iranian officials on Thursday
said Iran planned to respond to Israel's recent attacks,
according to Iranian media,
threatening to continue a cycle of
retaliation between the two countries.
I'll let you go ahead with it.
Sure.
Iran's response to the Zionist aggression is definite, said General Ali Fadavi, the
deputy commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps, according to Iranian media.
We have never left an aggression unanswered in 40 years.
We are capable of destroying all that
the Zionists possess with one operation. Let that sink in, Rick. We're capable of destroying all
that the Zionists possess with one operation. That's the entire country. Right. So are they
alluding to that secret weapon once again?
So, anyway, that's just something to consider.
We've reported on that. General Fadavi's remarks made to Lebanon's Al-Mayadeen television station were the first statement from an Iranian official indicating that Iran intended to retaliate to Israel's October 26 strikes.
The second Iranian official, the head of the Supreme Leader's office,
get ready for this, Gholam Hossein Gopayeghani, also said on Thursday that Iran planned to deliver
a fierce, tooth-breaking response to Israel's desperate action. Now, three Iranian officials
familiar with the war planning said Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei had
instructed the Supreme National Security Council on Monday to prepare for attacking Israel.
The official spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly.
Okay, now this next paragraph from the New York Times says,
they said that military commanders were preparing a list of dozens of military targets inside Israel, but that
the attacks would very likely happen after the American election because Iran was concerned
that another spike of tension and chaos in the region would benefit Donald Trump in his
re-election campaign.
So we may not see the attack before
Tuesday. Or
Israel may decide to go ahead
and attack Iran. And do a preemptive attack.
Before the election.
Well, the next one is
CNN. Israel at
high level of readiness
for Iran's response, says Israeli
military source.
CNN reporting Israel is at a high level of readiness for a response from Iran, a source told CNN.
But the source added that they are still assessing the decision-making process in Iran to determine if and when a retaliation will take place.
So that clearly indicates Israel has the ability to listen to top secret conversations.
Yes.
That they have either human intelligence inside Iran's government or they have technology capable of accessing their most secret communications.
If this is accurate. because somehow they know what
they're planning. Or we're just being told, hey, we know what they're planning, and we're going to
do what we're planning. The source said that the recent Israeli attacks on Iranian missile
production facilities and air defense installations have created a dilemma for Tehran as its capability to strike Israel and defend against future Israeli strikes has been degraded.
Well, you know, Doc, the videos I saw coming out of Iran the night of the attack, I just saw explosions in the air.
I didn't see explosions on the ground.
To me, it looked like Iran was was their interceptors were taking out the Israeli
missiles. And I mean,
I saw the same videos and everything, and it seemed
to, and I realized it could all be
propaganda too, but it seemed like
Iran was doing a better job taking out
missiles than Israel was.
I mean,
that's what it looked like, but we don't know
the full
extent of the damage on the ground.
Reuters reporting oil climbs 2% on reports of Iran preparing a strike on Israel.
This is what it's saying about the economy.
A big war between Israel and Iran.
Folks, the economy, the world economy comes to a screeching halt, Doc, if it's a big war.
Why?
Because if Iran attacks U.S. military bases, if President Biden gets involved in the war
and the U.S. is assisting Israel and Iran retaliates against American military bases in the UAE, in Jordan, in Kuwait, all the countries around the Middle East.
Plus, if Iran shuts down the Strait of Hormuz, bombs oil refineries in the Middle East.
I mean, Iran has warned the other Arab nations, don't get involved in this fight.
Don't let American jets take off from airports inside military bases inside your country.
If you do, you're a target.
So the oil industry could be devastated in a matter of hours if a major war starts between Israel and Iran in the coming days or weeks, going into the winter months, you're going to see more than a 2% jump.
Right.
You could see oil going from what right now, $70 some dollars a barrel, going up to $300, $400 a barrel.
You could see gasoline in America at $15, $20 a gallon.
And it could happen very fast.
This is what I'm telling you, how the economy can change so quickly because of World War.
This next story, Reuters, Iran braces for Trump victory, fearing more Israeli strikes.
Now, isn't that interesting?
Iran believes if Donald Trump wins, Israel will attack Iran more, and the West will put
economic sanctions on Iran.
It says Iran's leadership and allies are bracing for what they would regard as a dreadful outcome of the U.S. presidential election, a return to power of Donald Trump. assassinations and reimpose his maximum pressure policy through sanctions on their oil industry,
according to Iranian, Arab, and Western officials.
So, I think both sides, Iran and Israel, are going to make decisions after Tuesday.
And that is leading me to this next story.
Trump told Netanyahu he wants Gaza war over by the time he enters office.
This is, again, Times of Israel.
Former President Trump has told Benjamin Netanyahu that he wants Israel to wrap up the war in Gaza by the time he returns to office if he wins election.
Two sources have revealed to the Times.
The message was first conveyed when the Republican nominee hosted the Israeli premier to the Times are the first to reveal that a timeline was attached to
the request. The former U.S. official stressed that
Trump wasn't specific in his appeal to Netanyahu and could well
back residual IDF activity
in Gaza so long as Jerusalem has officially ended the war.
Trump, in recent weeks, has indicated that he'd give Israel freer reign to make decisions,
slamming Joe Biden for trying to restrict the potential targets of Jerusalem's retaliation.
What does that mean?
That Donald Trump wants Bibi Netanyahu to get the war over with before he takes office,
and that it's okay for you to occupy Gaza as long as you need to.
Yes, so the way I'm reading this, if this is accurate,
it means that if Donald Trump wins on Tuesday, between Wednesday
and January 20th, a lot of Palestinian children are going to die.
Far more children are going to die in those 75 days than have died in the year of the
war.
Because Netanyahu is going to know that President-elect Donald Trump is going to back him
and will not say a word to him on January 21st about,
Bibi, you slaughtered so many kids.
The only thing Donald Trump wants is to say, it's over with.
That's right.
I don't have to deal with it.
It's not on my plate.
Not my problem.
B.B. got the job done.
All right, so kids died.
So what?
It's war.
Isn't that what he's saying?
Yes.
Get it over with.
Smash them.
Destroy it.
Bring it down.
End the war.
Do what you've got to do.
Just get it done before January 20th.
Yes.
Is the Lord going to allow that to happen?
I don't know.
I'm having trouble as a Christian dealing with the fact that this has gone on for a year.
And so many children have died.
I'm having trouble dealing with it.
God, I don't understand what's happening.
This is the worst thing I've ever seen in my lifetime.
The most horrific destruction of human life I've seen in my lifetime.
Ynet News, if Trump is elected, the war will come to a swift and decisive conclusion, says Ben Shapiro.
Well, Doc, is Ben Shapiro now a peace freak?
Does he want to end the war?
Oh, no, no.
That's definitely not what he's saying.
Is he saying if we vote for Trump, we have peace?
No.
Is that what he's saying?
No.
He's going for a ceasefire?
No.
We're taking the reins off Bibi.
Oh.
That's what's going on.
His good friend. So Shapiro is saying if Donald Trump wins, Bibi Netanyahu will be free to kill as many Palestinians as he can kill before January 20.
That's what he's saying, right?
Yes.
I've not heard the interview, but that's what I'm guessing.
Let's listen. At this point in the war, after the direct attack on Iran with multiple fronts, Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis, Iraq,
do you think Israel has regained its leverage, its deterrence?
I do.
I think that the only thing that really is going to lead to that long term is a full understanding in Israeli society,
which seems to have taken place, that Israel is going to have to be on war footing for the foreseeable future.
Israel will have to evolve into a permanent war footing from here on.
What is this, Doc? I don't know this one.
Well, these are videos of Ben Shapiro that you asked.
Oh, this is the one we just watched?
Yes.
Do we have a second one?
We've got several of them here.
All right, let's watch the next one.
And obviously, you're going to have to have a much more forward-facing position in terms of Israeli domestic armaments production.
One of the big messages of this war is that you can't be reliant on the kindness of strangers because sooner or later you might get a president of the United States who is going to start cutting off weapons if that president feels domestic pressures or loses moral sympathy with the state of Israel. So as long as
Israel recognizes, as long as Israelis recognize that Israel is going to have to move forward on
a more dynamic basis, then I think that the deterrence is not only going to remain, it's
going to grow in the future. All right, I want to jump down to the clip where it says
Trump will help Israel end
the war swiftly. This is according to
Ben Shapiro, a raving
maniac Zionist.
Bloodthirsty
killer.
He's got a killer mind.
He really does.
There's no other way to describe it, but yes.
He's a maniac. He wants
death and destruction of Palestinians. Let's listen to this clip. I think that if President
Trump is elected, I think that the war in the Middle East will come to a swift and decisive
conclusion, mainly because I believe that President Trump will give Israel what it requires in order
to finish off whatever is left of Hamas, in order to solidify
the situation on the ground in Gaza, in order to reach some sort of arrangement in southern Lebanon
that pushes Hezbollah north of Latani at the very least, and that boxes Iran back in. I also think
that President Trump will move with alacrity to get Saudi back into the Abraham Accords. That was
very close to happening the first time around. If Trump had been reelected in 2020, I have very little doubt. In fact, I know that Saudi Arabia
would have been in the Abraham Accords by March of 2021. I mean, it was that close when Trump was
not reelected. So that's the story with Trump. And that's mainly because President Trump understands
something very clear, which is in the Middle East, strength wins. And so if you don't want
there to be war in the Middle East, what you do is you say, whatever Israel needs, we are happy for them to have. They should go, they should win,
and then there will be peace. Trump understands this at a very, very core level.
Ben Shapiro is one of the most repulsive, disgusting Zionists in America.
He's absolutely disgusting. I cringe when I hear his voice because he's such an advocate for death.
And conservatives love this guy.
They love conservatives and Christians love this guy.
A man who hates Jesus.
He hates Jesus.
He said Jesus deserved to be crucified.
Yes.
I've got the video of him saying it.
He said he deserved to be crucified.
He was a rebel.
He was a revolutionary.
And you've got these so-called conservatives who elevate him to this high position.
You have Christian Zionists who go to his meetings and cheer him,
who watch his, listen to his radio show.
And he hates Jesus Christ.
And he loves seeing children in Palestine killed.
So if you love this guy, you're taking his sins upon yourself.
You got it, Rick.
You want me to say that again?
You love Ben Shapiro.
You are inviting his sins upon yourself. You got it, Rick. You want me to say that again? You love Ben Shapiro.
You are inviting his sins upon yourself.
You will stand on Judgment Day with him and be held accountable for his sins.
So, Shapiro just said, if we get Trump in the White House, we get anything we want.
That's right.
You got it. Did he say say that that's what i heard he said if we get trump in the white house we get anything we want
and what they want he said the total destruction of hamas okay finish the sentence the total
destruction of gaza yes that there's not one building standing, not one human breathing.
That there's Israeli settlements in Gaza.
I'll tell you what President Trump's going to do.
This is my guess.
He is going to, quote,
give the West Bank to Israel.
Oh, I believe that.
He'll just declare it Israeli territory
like he did Golan Heights.
Golan Heights belongs to Syria.
President Trump brags, I gave the Golan Heights to Israel.
How did you give real estate that doesn't belong to you to somebody else?
And I think it's going to extend as far as South Lebanon, too.
And that's why France is getting—
Shapiro said, we're going to get everything we want.
Yeah.
Now, okay, so I know I'm making people mad already. And that's why France is getting... Shapiro said, we're going to get everything we want. Yeah.
Now, okay, so I know I'm making people mad already.
I don't, you know what?
I answer to the Lord.
I am not going to be a flunky for any politician.
I'm just not going to be a flunky for anybody.
Left or right, Democrat, Republican, I don't care.
I'm just telling you the truth.
Let's play that clip again of Shapiro.
Listen closely to what he said.
Trump will help Israel end the war swiftly.
Let's listen to it again.
Then I'm going to take you to the next article.
And some of you are going to try to reach through the video screen or the audio speaker and reach for my throat and try to pull my hair out. I'm just telling you the truth, okay?
Let's listen to it again. I think that if President Trump is elected, I think that the
war in the Middle East will come to a swift and decisive conclusion, mainly because I believe that President Trump will give Israel what it requires in order to finish off whatever
is left of Hamas, in order to solidify the situation on the ground in Gaza, in order to
reach some sort of arrangement in southern Lebanon that pushes Hezbollah north of Latani,
at the very least, and that boxes Iran back in. I also think that President Trump will move with
alacrity to get
Saudi back into the Abraham Accords. That was very close to happening the first time around.
And so if you don't want there to be war in the Middle East, what you do is you say, whatever Israel needs, we are happy for them to have.
They should go. They should win. And then there will be peace. Trump understands this at a very, very core level.
Translated, let Israel kill everything that's living in Palestine.
Shapiro's on record years ago saying all Palestinians should be pushed out, resettled, pushed out.
We quoted that years ago, Doc.
This man is genocidal.
This man believes in killing the Palestinian people if necessary.
His preference would be just move them somewhere but if they don't move they have to be wiped out okay
last week or so i told you that uh well who was it um um who was the uh the guy on Newsmax? Halperin.
Mark Halperin said, there's somebody shopping a news story around that if it gets published,
it's going to sink Donald Trump's campaign the day it comes out.
And we said, what could this be?
Right.
And George Santos, too.
Remember that?
Well, he said that there was something coming out on Harris.
Okay.
So here we are.
Nothing has really come out that, you know, that has really brought down Donald Trump or Kamala Harris.
But something appeared today and it's far too late in the campaign to have any effect.
This is a Newsweek article today. The Donald Trump-Jeffrey Epstein allegations.
This article written by Michael Wolff.
And these are five takeaways of the article, this interview with Newsweek.
I scanned it today.
It's too long to go into detail.
We're down to less than two minutes.
I will tell you this.
If half of the things in this article are true.
Folks, it's disgusting.
Okay.
According to this article to Michael Wolff, who did the interviews with Jeffrey Epstein.
Yes.
Wolff said Jeffrey Epstein brought photographs out of a safe and showed him pictures of Donald Trump sitting with teenage girls on his lap, surrounded by teenage girls who were topless.
Okay.
Epstein kept the pictures in his safe.
Who has the photographs now?
The FBI.
And Wolf also said that it was Jeffrey Epstein that was his secret source in writing the books on Donald Trump's time in the Oval Office.
That's right.
What am i saying the reason shapiro is so confident that israel
will get whatever it wants if donald trump is in the white house is because israel has the
photographs that's the reason they've got the photographs and and they will use it.
They'll use it on anybody, any politician,
that they have to squeeze.
This is how America was conquered from within.
Our corruption, our sin.
We lost our freedom, we lost our independence,
because our leaders were corrupt

Good morning, everybody. Welcome to Morning Manna.
We're glad that you are joining us on this Friday.
And if you've been here with us on Fridays, you know that this is the day of Holy Communion.
So we will be going to the Lord's Supper at the end of this Bible study.
So we're inviting you to participate, have bread and your choice of grape juice or red wine.
And there are really only two requirements that our church has for participation.
Number one, that you're born again.
Number two, that you're baptized.
The third one is that you're not involved in ongoing sins.
But we always pray before we go to the Lord's table because we give everybody
an opportunity to make things right with the Lord. You should not ever stay away from the
Lord's table because you have sinned. You go to the washroom and you wash up. You wash your hands
before you go to the breakfast table. And that's what
we're going to be doing today. So today we start our study of the 26th chapter of the gospel
according to St. Matthew. And we're going to go through verses 1 through 13. Chapter 26 is long. It has 75 verses. I'm not going to go in depth as much as I normally do because I'm doing 13 verses in one day.
And I have to allow room for the Lord's Supper at the end of this service and do it all within one hour.
So I'll be going a little bit faster through each verse.
Let's pray.
Dear Heavenly Father, we come to you in the mighty
glorious name of your Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ. We thank you for this day. We thank you
for eternal life through Christ. We thank you for your many blessings upon us. And we have gathered
here today, Father, at your breakfast table to be fed.
We're hungry.
We desire nourishment from your kitchen, Father.
So give us the morning manna straight from heaven and nourish our souls, our minds, and our bodies with your precious word.
In Jesus' name, amen.
Amen.
Now we have finished up the Olivet Discourse. We finished up Matthew 25. Now we
start Matthew chapter 26. We're going to focus on verses 1 through 13 today, and that is the
revealing of the plot to kill Jesus and then the anointing of Jesus at Bethany. So read along with
me. I'm reading from the King James. It came to pass when Jesus had
finished all these sayings, he said unto his disciples, you know that after two days is the
feast of the Passover, and the Son of Man is betrayed to be crucified. Then assembled together
the chief priests and the scribes and the elders of the people unto the palace of the high priest who was called Caiaphas and consulted
that they might take Jesus by subtlety
and kill him.
But they said not on the feast day
lest there be an uproar among the people.
Now when Jesus was in Bethany
in the house of Simon the leper
there came unto him a woman
having an alabaster box
a very precious ointment
and poured it on his head as he sat at meat. But when his disciples saw it It came unto him a woman having an alabaster box, a very precious ointment,
imported on his head as he sat at meat.
But when his disciples saw it, they had indignation, saying,
To what purpose is this waste?
For this ointment might have been sold for much and given to the poor.
When Jesus understood it, he said unto them,
Why trouble ye the woman? For she hath wrought a good work upon me.
For ye have the poor always with you,
but me you have not always.
For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body,
she did it for my burial.
Verily I say unto you,
Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world,
there shall also this, that this woman hathath done be told for a memorial of her.
God bless the reading of his word today.
Praise God. Verse 1.
And it came to pass when Jesus had finished all these sayings,
he said unto his disciples.
So verse 1 marks the end of jesus's public ministry
everything that we have studied in matthew of his ministry to the people his travels
throughout judea samaria the miracles the healings the parables they all come to an end in
verse 1 he has spoken he has spoken the word he has finished his sayings and he
has said up now he speaks to his disciples only the phrase all these sayings signals the conclusion of Jesus is
transitioning to the events of his passion so from this moment forward he
is moving now to the cross to the crucifixion so this is a major turning point in the narrative of
Jesus Christ now let's talk about the Passover doc can you take a moment here
I've got something happening I've got to I've got to attend to it okay no problem
so all right so as we're just getting started
here on verse one it says it came to pass as rick mentioned this is the we're transitioning now out
of the olive discourse and now moving into the final week of jesus's uh uh efforts and everything. And so, and what's being revealed here in these first few verses in chapter 26
is the intention by the chief priests and elders to kill Jesus.
If there had been any question about it before now,
that question is totally removed as we start off chapter 26. So the plot is revealed here in these first five verses of chapter 26.
So welcome back, Rick.
I am.
I'm going to have to stop doing my Bible lessons from my house
because there's just interruptions when, you know,
people come to the door and have to see me for something, you know.
So anyhow, thank you, Doc.
We're near the Passover feast.
And Jesus is informing his disciples that the Passover is just days away.
And that this is going to be the time of betrayal.
This is going to be when the Jewish leaders betray him to the Romans to be crucified.
He says in verse 2,
Ye know that after two days is the feast of the Passover, and the Son of Man is betrayed to be crucified.
He sets a precise timetable.
Yes, very important to understand that.
He gives it in two days.
The Passover is in two days. The Passover is in two days.
So historians can determine with precision when this conversation took place.
And he's setting a precise timetable for the culmination of his earthly ministry.
The proximity to the Passover situates Jesus' upcoming betrayal,
crucifixion, and resurrection
within the context of the Jewish feast
that was central
to Israel's history of deliverance from Egypt.
Let's take a few minutes and talk about Passover.
You can't skip over Passover when talking about the crucifixion.
They are intertwined.
Yes.
So you have to know the meaning of the Passover the Passover
commemorates Israel's liberation deliverance from from Egypt sparing the
Israelites from the final plague on Egypt,
which struck down the Egyptian firstborn.
So during the original Passover,
the Hebrew homes were protected by marking their doors with the blood of a lamb.
You can read that in Exodus exodus 12 verses 1-14
and so this symbolism of deliverance is essential in interpreting jesus's own mission
as his sacrifice will serve as the ultimate act of liberation from the bondage of sin
so the in jewish tradition the passover lamb was a required offering
it symbolized atonement and protection for the household.
And so by placing himself in the context of the Passover lamb, Jesus identifies himself as the lamb who has sacrificed,
that his blood will protect and redeem and deliver believers from spiritual death.
This is why you should not fear death.
If you understand Passover, you will not fear death.
Yes. Praise God.
The death angel will pass over you. Will your body die? Yes. Praise God. The death angel will pass over you.
Will your body die? Yes.
But you will be delivered from the Egypt.
Egypt representing bondage at that time.
Okay, bondage to the Hebrew people.
You will be delivered from bondage, the bondage of sin.
You will pass over. You will pass over that gulf. the Hebrew people you will be delivered from bondage the bondage of sin you will
pass over you will pass over that gulf
between life in this world and the next life Christ your faith your belief in
Jesus Christ the Passover lamb will cause you to be able to cross over this this Gulf
this valley between the two worlds of physical life and the afterlife so just
as the Passover lamb spared the Israelites, Jesus' sacrifice offers salvation,
fulfills the promise of
liberation from sin and death
for all who believe.
So this is a
shift from the old covenant
observance of Passover
to the establishment
of a new covenant at the
Last Supper which we're going to study this and next week but today we're going
to hold our communion service but at the Last Supper Jesus instituted the holy communion and it symbolized the new covenant through his body and blood
which fulfills the passover typology so this transition signifies that jesus sacrifice Jesus' sacrifice replaces the need for further sacrifices.
And his death provides the ultimate atonement for sin.
Yes.
The institution of the Lord's Supper,
it represents the replacement of the Old Testament's physical deliverance with spiritual redemption.
This new covenant reframes the Passover, not as a remembrance of Israel's past,
but as an invitation to participate in the salvation Jesus offers through his death.
I don't want to get off subject, but you have a lot of Christian Zionists today who their churches will hold Passover Seders. satyrs they now put more emphasis on Passover satyrs then on the Holy
Communion I don't have a problem with reenacting the Passover saying okay
here's what it looked like here here's the typical food this is the way the
Passover meal was done I don't have a problem with that at all. If it's being done in an educational format.
Right.
But we are not to teach Christians that they are to participate in the Passover meal.
Yes.
The Passover meal is past.
It's over.
Jesus instituted a new meal.
The Lord's Supper.
That was the last Passover meal.
And so now we feast on the flesh and the blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ.
Right.
Just as they used to feast on the lamb within the Passover meal.
Yes.
So it's very important to understand the significance of Passover in the Old Testament in terms of Hebrew history.
To understand the context for what is happening now in Matthew 26.
And why we participate in the Lord's Supper on a regular basis.
The Hebrews were told to remember the Passover.
Jesus told us to remember his sacrifice. So.
A lot of churches today.
Are now having services to remember the Passover.
Over the Red Sea.
They're putting that as the primary.
Event.
And downsizing.
The Passover from. Christ from death to life.
Downsizing the importance of the Lord's Supper.
Passover means to leap over.
In Hebrew, that's what it means, to leap over.
It meant that the death angel leaped over the homes of the houses that had the blood of the lamb on their doorpost.
Yes. um the Greek word is Pasha and and so the Orthodox churches you know at what Western Christians call Easter which is a word I don't like because it's pagan. It's not a Christian word.
They will refer to, they call their observation, their
resurrection day celebration, they would call it Pasha.
Because they connect their celebration of the resurrection with Passover.
The Western churches are on a Roman Catholic calendar.
That's another teaching, but there was a division in the early church where the Western Church in Rome,
where the Bishop of Rome insisted on celebrating the resurrection on Sunday.
Polycarp, who was a disciple of John, imagine that.
He personally knew John.
Came into the faith under John's ministry.
Was mentored by John. And Polycarp said, no, we don't have service on Sunday.
John told me it's at Passover so the Western churches celebrate what they
call Easter on Sunday but the Orthodox churches celebrate Pasha Passover the
resurrection is at Passover.
This is a little bit of church history, but it's connected to the importance of Passover.
Because from Pasha and Passover, we get passion of Christ,
which refers to the suffering of Jesus Christ for humanity.
It's where all these words
blend together.
So,
Jesus refers
to Passover.
His reference to Passover
is more than just to mark a date on the calendar.
It aligns his sacrifice on the cross with the deliverance and protection symbolized
by the Passover lamb.
So there's a direct link between the sacrifice of the Passover lamb and
Jesus's role as the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world so in
the this verse verse 2 chapter 26 Jesus is now foretelling of his his role to be the sacrificial lamb i doubt if any of the disciples
comprehended the depth and the magnitude of the words he was speaking at that moment how would they how would they be able in their limited human mind
to comprehend the mystery this is the mystery that God came to earth and human
flesh lived a sinless life and then allowed sinful men to kill him to provide the blood that would atone for their sins.
His blood, think about it, the murder victim's blood atoned for the sin of the murderers.
How would anybody be able to comprehend it before it happened?
The concept is so far out of human understanding and reasoning that,
you know, I understand why the disciples were in the dark,
ignorant about what was transpiring.
And now this time he gives a direct timeline in two days.
In two days.
He says, I'm going to be betrayed. Doctrine says, and the Son of Man is betrayed to be crucified.
It doesn't say the Son of Man will be betrayed in two days.
It says the Son of Man is betrayed.
It's a present tense.
Oh, yes.
Yeah, he was already betrayed at that moment at that time yes
he's speaking as though the betrayal is already occurring
it was underway it was happening he's saying to his disciples i'm betrayed right now
the jewish leaders have already betrayed me.
They're in the act of betraying me this very moment.
In fact, he's saying, one of you is in the act of betraying me, which is Judas. So the usage of a present tense is betrayed,
indicates that his betrayal is not in the distant future,
and it's not avoidable.
But it's unfolding with a sense of inevitability
it can't be stopped
it's going to happen
it's part of God's divine plan
but it's all part
the predetermined nature of the betrayal
is rooted in God's redemptive plan.
It's not an unforeseen twist, but it's an essential element of divine prophecy.
Amen.
And if the devil had known that Jesus was going to be resurrected, he never would have crucified him.
Satan couldn't figure this out.
I mean, Doc, I can imagine demons there
taking notes and running back to Satan
and going, hey, this is what he's saying.
This stuff, he's talking out of his head.
What is he talking about?
What's going on?
They didn't know.
Right.
So one thing to take away from that is the devil doesn't know everything.
He doesn't know.
So don't give him more information than he has.
And don't give him more credit than he has and don't give him more
credit than he deserves amen that's right he's not smart there's a lot more
than the devil so Jesus has a calm assured reference to his betrayal.
And that indicates a complete understanding of and submission to his father's plan.
He's not expressing fear or resistance.
His tone is a matter-of-fact acceptance of what is to come.
Oh, by the way, gentlemen,
I am being betrayed this very moment.
He wasn't looking for a place to hide.
He wasn't fleeing to another country.
He knew what he had to do.
He was going to the cross.
I must go. I must had to do. He was going to the cross. I must go.
I must go to Jerusalem.
I must be tortured.
I must die.
I must be resurrected.
He said that a long time ago in Matthew.
Remember those chapters where he said those words?
Well, he's finally made it he's just two days
away so by speaking openly of his betrayal he's he's offering his
disciples forewarning to anchor their faith when the prophecy is fulfilled.
His disciples later remembered this moment,
and they understood that the betrayal, the crucifixion, and the resurrection were not tragedies of fate, but that they were essential elements in God's plan of redemption.
Let's go down to verse 3. Then the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders of the people were gathered together in the court of the high priest who was called Caiaphas.
So two days before Passover, the Jewish religious and political leaders of Jerusalem, the highest
officials, the chief priests, the scribes, the elders, gathered to discuss the threat
that they considered Jesus presented to their authority and power.
So, whether this was
a formal meeting of the Sanhedrin
or an informal
get-together, it doesn't really matter.
It was a
secret meeting
to plot the murder of an innocent
man.
And it's it for me doc it just speaks of how in every age in every Empire every country there are powerful people who meet in secret to plot the murder of
innocent people yes it goes on today it's happening today it's happening
today both in government and in business
yeah so it's it's always happening.
There are murderers, and they justify their conspiratorial plots to murder by telling
themselves it's essential for the security of the state, or for the continuance of our family dynasty.
They always have a reason to justify their conspiratorial murder plans.
And that's what the Jews were doing here.
In their minds, they were totally justified in plotting a murder and yet they knew is
wrong because they met secretly to plan it that's right you don't meet secretly to do what's right
that's a good point, Rick. It's just that simple.
So there was a coalition of Sadducees, which included the chief priests, the Pharisees, which included the scribes.
And as we've learned throughout studying Matthew,
they were typically opposed to each other but here
they are united by their shared hatred of Jesus Christ and their shared
determination to bring his ministry to an end once and for all right they
wanted to get rid of this guy they've're done with him. They're fed up with him
going into the temple,
kicking the money changers out.
They're tired of him
answering their questions
with his questions.
They're tired of his parables.
They're fed up with him.
And now,
they're going to get him.
That's what's taking place.
So the Sanhedrin, that's the Jewish council,
had significant influence among the Jewish people.
They ruled Judaism. There was no higher authority in Judaism than the Sanhedrin.
Caiaphas. Caiaphas was the high priest, so he played the central role in orchestrating the plot against Jesus.
You could not have called a secret meeting of the Sanhedrin without Caiaphas actively involved or winking or nodding.
He played the central role.
He got his job through politics, through the Roman procurator.
He wasn't a high priest by blood
no he was appointed to that position by the romans so it was a political appointment a lot of people don't realize that that uh he was not the tribe of levi anything like that. At least scripture doesn't tell us that, but he was appointed, both him and his son-in-law.
And so it was a political appointment by the Romans.
And it was the way the Romans kept peace,
but also kept control over the Judean province.
Yes. province so yes um so he had an alliance with other powerful jews notably his father-in-law
anis yes who had also served as a high priest and used his leverage to get his son-in-law the job.
You know, some Bible scholars believe his father-in-law was really, you know,
still running the show.
Probably, yeah.
That Annis didn't do anything without his father-in-law's approval and instructions.
Kind of the way that Barackack obama has been running joe biden's administration in the background so caiaphas had had a lot of suspicion
about jesus he watched him with suspicion viewed him as a destabilizing influence on Judaism and so Caiaphas sought to
unite the Sanhedrin that Pharisees and the Sadducees in a common plot yes who Yes. Who rid Judaism of this revolutionary who was threatening their control over the Jewish people.
There's a lot of other things that were interplaying in Caiaphas' mind,
his personal ambition, his fear of Roman retaliation,
his desire to protect his family standing
within the priesthood.
When he married Annas' daughter,
you know, this guy was, he was ambitious.
He was strategic.
I'm going to marry the high priest's daughter and I'm going to get the job.
He maintained his political connections with the Romans. And so it was essential that he would be the leader in this plot to take down Jesus
Christ.
But at the very heart of it, though, reflects back on Psalm chapter 2. And we've
talked about this in some of the different parables and everything.
I'm of the conviction and persuasion that the Jewish leaders knew that Jesus was exactly who he claimed to be,
and they couldn't handle that because it meant their loss.
It meant the eradication of everything they had,
the power, the influence, their livelihood, everything
depended on
their not being a Messiah.
It was to their advantage
not to have a Messiah show up.
But we'll continue in our study here
as we look at Matthew 26, verses 3 and 4.
And verse 4 needs to be brought out.
They conspired together.
It says consulted in the King James.
But a better word there is they conspired
that they might take Jesus by subtlety and kill him.
And so the end result of what they desired to happen,
they are expressing just right out in the open, so to speak.
Their plot is obvious that they cannot handle some Nazarene showing up in Jerusalem claiming to be the Messiah.
And they knew that he was the Messiah.
They knew it.
They knew it.
And this is based upon the teaching that Jesus has done in previous parables here that we know where their motives are.
Because when Jesus taught in the parable of the vine dressers,
that when they
tried to, they killed the son
they said we'll kill the heir
and at the end of that
entire parable that Jesus
gives about the vine dressers and
everything, it says
at the end of that narrative
that they
that the chief priest
and scribes knew they were
speaking about them that Jesus knew that he was speaking about them so it just
goes more than just well we got get rid of this Nazarene that's causing trouble
no there was a direct motive in their hearts that they sought the inheritance, the inheritance of God.
And this is spelled out in Psalm chapter 2, and it's also spelled out in the parable of the vine dressers.
So it goes a bit deeper than sometimes even the narrative here gives a clue to.
And I'm going to bring Rick back in. Hang on just a moment, Rick.
All right.
There you go, sir.
Rick should be coming back in here
in just a moment.
So the plot was underway.
But they said that this would not happen
on the Passover.
It ended up happening on the Passover
on the very day they didn't want it to happen. So that's something to take out of these first
five verses here. Jesus told them, I'm going to die on the Passover. Let's talk about where where did the where did they have this meeting where was the secret meeting
um was it uh was it in the high priest palace was it in the inner courtyard um you know they You know, they met somewhere. Either, obviously a very secluded private place.
Either in a building or in a private courtyard where they could have a discreet conversation about murder.
Think about that.
Now where can we meet
where we can talk about killing a guy?
And nobody hears us.
As though,
now think about this.
This is the high priest.
This is the rulers of Judaism
and they don't believe
God can listen to them.
They don't believe God can listen to them. They don't talk.
They didn't.
They had no comprehension that Almighty God has ears
and could hear their plot to murder his son.
Where are we going to meet?
Make sure there are no witnesses.
Make sure the gardener's not here. Make sure the gardener's not here make sure the janitor's
not here get all the security guards away from this meeting and yet we know about the meeting
today yes we know about the meeting today two thousand later, we still know that they had a secret meeting to plot a murder. That's right.
But the thing that astounds me is that these religious leaders never considered
the fact that Almighty God could hear their plot to murder.
Amen.
So how many people are sitting beneath religious leaders
who really don't know
who God is
that's a lot
a lot of religion
the religious leaders themselves
don't know who God is
I'll give you an example and I'm not going to say a name, but it really
bothered me back during COVID when one of the most well-recognized, influential American evangelical leaders in this country recommended that Christians be
vaccinated with the COVID vaccine and he said Jesus would have been vaccinated And I, you know, I could hardly contain my indignation over that statement.
Because it told me that this man that millions of people, both Christians and non-Christians,
look up to as a senior Christian leader in America.
It told me he doesn't know that Jesus Christ is God yes why would Jesus Christ be vaccinated
how could a germ or a virus get in his body why would he need a vaccine to protect himself from sickness
when the only thing the man did was go from place to place and heal sick people?
Right.
How can God be infected with sickness?
And this man, who, if I said his name to you, all of you would know who it is.
This man was telling people in this country, If I said his name, all of you would know who it is.
This man was telling people in this country, I am certain Jesus would be vaccinated.
It told me the shocking thing was not so, I mean, what he said was shocking. But the real thing that shocked me, Doc, was this senior American Christian
leader doesn't know Jesus Christ. He only knows him as some kind of religious figure.
Didn't comprehend, he doesn't, I don't know if he does now, but at that time, two, three
years ago, four years ago, he clearly didn't know that jesus christ is god
in that it's impossible for god to be infected with a virus right
i'm bringing this up because it's an example of prominent religious leaders having power
and authority and influence and yet not knowing God.
Right.
So these Jewish leaders claimed to be the spokesman for God, and yet they didn't know
God has ears and could hear their meeting.
Never occurred to them that Almighty God was observing their meeting.
They certainly didn't.
Well, no, I do think they knew that Jesus was the Son of God.
But they still didn't think that,
they still didn't think his Father would know about their plot.
Everybody that does carrying out a sin in secret
doesn't think that God is watching.
And that goes from the worst crimes and sins
down to slandering people,
thinking that God doesn't hear this.
Yes, he does God had it has ears and
he has eyes and he has a memory so the irony of all this is that the high
priests in the sand heaven were responsible for upholding the integrity of
jewish law and yet here they were secretly meeting and conspiring to break the law
justifying there's a loophole here that allows us to break the law and nobody else.
So they're trying to find a legal way to do something illegal.
Now it's governments today. And what did they come up with
a way to get the Romans
to kill Jesus for them
yes
that way they don't break the law
right
they can say to God
we didn't do it
the Romans did it
the Romans did it well Hey, the Romans did it. The Romans did it.
Well, why did the Romans do it?
Just to pacify the Jews.
And Pilate said, hey, I'm washing my hands of this.
This man's innocent.
I'm not involved in this.
Yet they still crucified him.
Yes, to keep the Jews from rioting.
To prevent the Jews from going to Rome and telling Caesar,
hey, you're a man in Jerusalem.
He's not loyal to you.
And Pilate knew it.
He knew that they would do it.
He knew that they were capable of that kind of treacherous behavior.
Treacherous is the word to describe the Sanhedrin. Treacherous, not to be trusted, devious, conniving, sneaky, plotting.
Not only to kill an innocent man,
but to kill the Son of God.
Yes.
So verse 4,
they took counsel together
that they might take Jesus
by deceit
and kill him.
They took That they might take Jesus by deceit and kill him. They planned, religious leaders planned to kidnap Jesus using deceptive means for the purpose of murdering him.
So they held this clandestine meeting. They devised a plot. There was a conspiracy. They conspired. This is a group of men conspiring to commit a crime. In today's legal world, they could be arrested even if they didn't kill the victim.
Because in America, we arrest people for conspiracy.
Even though the government says there's no such thing as conspiracy theories.
Yet government prosecutors go into court
every day and argue a conspiracy
theory to put somebody in prison.
Yeah.
They use RICO laws
to put people, innocent
people in prison.
Right. So why the
secrecy, Doc? What was the purpose
of the secrecy?
If they're convinced the man is a threat to society and he's dangerous, why the secrecy doc what was the purpose of the secrecy if they're convinced the man is
a threat to society and he's dangerous why the secrecy they feared the people
yeah that's it but the Jewish people love Jesus see not it wasn't the entire Jewish population against Jesus.
The Jewish people loved Jesus.
They saw him as a prophet.
They didn't see him as the son of God and Messiah.
They saw him as a prophet.
He was a healer.
He was doing signs and wonders.
And they feared the people.
There was a fear of a backlash that would affect their authority.
There could possibly be a revolution within the Jewish population.
They could lose their positions.
And so they used deceit, a tactic to minimize public knowledge, use cunning, deceptive, sneaky methods to entrap Jesus and take him to a trial and get him murdered they knew there they knew
that their objective was wrong the fact that they had to meet in secret to talk
about it and the fact that they had to come up with a plan to conceal their plan, those two things right there,
convict them that they knew what they were doing was wrong.
They knew that the people would object, that people would revolt.
So the original intent was to avoid arresting Jesus during the Passover feast.
Right.
But they succumbed to temptation, and they hastened their plan to accommodate Judas' betrayal, which they didn't anticipate. Right. Yeah. Judas had not presented his
betrayal yet, even though it was underway. Judas was
thinking about it. Judas was planning it.
But it had not happened as of yet. But when
Judas enters the picture, that changes the timeline for the week.
Yes. It goes back to our opening remarks, Jesus said the Son of Man is betrayed.
Judas was presently betraying him, whether it was physically or mentally.
Judas had made the decision to betray Jesus.
And so the Sanhedrin was caught off guard.
They weren't anticipating one of Jesus's inner circle disciples to show up and say, hey, I'll help you get him.
What was Judas's role?
What was his motivation? Personally, I believe that Judas was, he was a, what we would call today a Zionist zealot.
Yes.
He wanted a Jewish empire, and he came to the decision that Jesus was not going to lead a violent revolution against the Romans and set up a Jewish empire.
And Judas felt betrayed by Jesus.
He justified his betrayal by telling himself, Jesus has betrayed me.
He's fooled me.
I thought he was the Messiah.
I thought he was the messiah i thought he was the savior of israel
but he's not he's talking out of his head
he's talking about an invisible kingdom i don't want an invisible kingdom i want a real kingdom
i want a king david kingdom want a King David kingdom. Right.
And I believe that's what drove Judas to betray Jesus.
It was Zionism.
Doc, think about it.
Zionism.
Zionism was at the heart of Judas's betrayal.
And it's at the heart of it to this day.
Yes.
It's the same spirit. It's the same spirit.
It is the same spirit.
They don't want Jesus to be king.
No.
So,
God's providence
overturned the Jewish leader's plot to keep the arrest secret.
And that ensured that Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection would be openly witnessed.
Yes, and perfectly timed.
And perfectly timed.
If they would have been able to do what they wanted done,
Jesus would have been killed in secret.
Right. That's right.
But God intervened because he knew before the foundation of the world
what these people were going to do. So previous efforts to entrap Jesus through questions, debate,
whatever all those things failed. And so now we're at the place that they just changed
a strategy and they said, forget it. We're not going to come up with another plan to entrap him. We're going to capture him and kill him. We're done with him. The Greek words used in these verses imply that
the Jewish leaders were cowardly. They were merciless.
And it was because of their deep-seated animosity and hatred of Jesus.
And that compelled them to act outside the bounds of legality and even moral integrity.
They're justifying their sins.
Is there anything worse than for a group of humans
to plot the murder of another person?
The taking of innocent life?
You know, I, in our modern government world, world leaders assassinate other leaders of other governments.
And they brag about it.
They say it's justified. and they brag about it.
They say it's justified.
I had to kill the guy.
I had to order him to be killed because he was going to do something bad.
Is the murder justified in God's eyes?
I wouldn't want to stand before God and justify,
hey, I had a couple people murdered while I was the president or the prime minister.
How do you justify it?
And yet, we're told Barack Obama personally liked to choose from the list of targets the people who would be killed that day
President Trump bragged that he made the decision to kill the Iranian General we know that Netanyahu loves to assassinate people he just he relishes it He thrives on it. And remember the story about President Obama,
that he'd sit in the situation room and target people with drones?
Yeah, that's what, oh, yes, yes.
And Hillary Clinton said, we came, he died.
Talking about Gaddafi.
We came, he died.
All of them are murderers.
They're murderers.
I know people are, did you just call President Trump a murderer?
He bragged about the murder.
I'm not calling him a murderer.
He bragged it.
He bragged that he authorized a murder.
So if you say, well, that Iranian general was a bad dude.
Do you have the authority to murder somebody?
Did God give you a permit today to murder somebody for these Jewish leaders they said yes we are we
are entitled to murder this man in order to protect Judaism and that's at the
heart of it yeah they're protecting Judaism well doc I'm not going to get to verse 13
we'll go ahead and take a break for
the Lord's Supper
alright and we do appreciate you
joining us each Friday for the Lord's
Supper and we always invite you
to join us live if you can but even if
you can't join with us live
it still works if
you're listening to a pre-recorded one, so
at a different time. So feel free to participate in the Lord's Supper here with the elements of
bread and either red wine or grape juice, and I encourage you every week, make preparation for
the Lord's Supper. Don't let it be a last-minute thought or anything. As usual, we always ask the
Lord to search our hearts
before we partake of the Lord's table.
So, Rick, would you pray for us now
that we would come and approach the table of the Lord
with clean hearts and clean hands today?
Dear gracious Father,
Father, we come humbly to your table to be fed.
And we are aware that we're going to be feasting
on your son's flesh and blood.
And that there is no more sacred meal in the world,
in the universe, than your supper.
So Father, we ask that your Holy Spirit search our hearts and our minds, reveal anything that we have said cleanse us in the blood of Jesus Christ that we are about to drink.
And so, Father, we know that we are forgiven because your word promises it.
And we now know that all the things that we've done, that we've repented of, are in the past,
are forgiven,
and we can now go to the table with clean hands,
and clean hearts,
and clean minds,
and receive of the sacred meal.
In Jesus' name,
Amen.
Amen.
If you have the elements of communion available with you,
we're going to pray the Lord's blessing over that at this time.
So,
as we mentioned earlier,
who do we invite to the table here?
Those who have made a confession of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of their lives
and been baptized in water according to Scriptures.
And so we invite you to participate
in this, the Lord's Supper.
If you approach this table with a clean heart,
you'll be blessed as
a result of participating in this. So let's pray for the elements of the Lord's table right now.
Almighty God, in your tender mercy, you gave your only begotten son, Jesus Christ, to suffer death
upon the cross for our redemption. He offered himself and made once for all time a perfect and
sufficient sacrifice for the sins of the whole world.
He instituted this remembrance of his passion and death, which he commanded us to continue until he comes again.
And so, Father, we ask you to bless and sanctify with your word and your Holy Spirit these gifts of bread and wine that we may partake of his most blessed body and blood.
Christ,
our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed once for all upon the cross.
Therefore, let us keep the feast.
Hallelujah.
On the night that he was
betrayed, our Lord Jesus took bread,
and when he had given thanks, he broke it,
and he gave it to his disciples,
saying, Take, eat. This is my
body, which is given for you.
Do this in remembrance of me.
The body of our Lord Jesus Christ, which was given for you,
preserve your body and soul to everlasting life.
This is the bread of heaven.
Take and eat in remembrance that Christ died for you.
After supper, Jesus took the cup, and when he'd given thanks, he gave it to them, saying,
Drink this, all of you, for this is my blood of the new covenant, which is shed for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins.
Whenever you drink it, do this in remembrance of me.
Praise God. Hallelujah.
The blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, which was shed for you,
preserve your body and soul to everlasting life.
Drink the cup of salvation in remembrance that Christ's blood
was shed for you, and be thankful.
Behold the Lamb of God. Behold Him who takes away
the sins of the world, and blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.
This sacrament is the gift of God for the people of God.
Feed on him by faith with thanksgiving.
That Christ died for you.
Praise God.
Glory to God.
And we'll be talking more about the Lord's Supper and communion as we proceed here in chapters 26 and 27.
So you'll learn a lot, I guarantee you.
That's right. Amen.
All right, Doc. That's it for today.
