Starting point is 00:00:00 Here are two massively important products to have in an emergency. Because it's not a matter of if, but when an emergency will happen to you. With years of experience in survival preparedness, let me tell you, these are must-haves. One, high-quality and nutrient-packed, shelf-stable emergency food buckets. And two, reliable and long-lasting water filtration systems. These essentials will make all the difference in an emergency, supplying your loved ones with all the calories and nutrients they need to survive any scenario. Don't take the risk. Try my favorite America-loving brand American Reserves for your emergency food supply needs. U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has revoked the personal security detail
Starting point is 00:00:59 and security clearance of General Mark Milley, former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Secretary Hegseth, also ordered an investigation into General Milley's conduct. The general's portrait was removed from the Pentagon shortly after President Trump was sworn in on January 20th. This is true news for Wednesday, January 29, 2025. Let's begin our analysis and commentary of today's news by looking at this article published by NBC News. Defense Secretary revokes Mark Milley's security detail and orders IG review. Doc, this is big. Yes. I can't recall ever in my lifetime anything like this happening. Well, can you recall in your lifetime a
Starting point is 00:01:53 chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff collaborating with China? No. Against the president? No. I've never had that happen either. So NBC said Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has told former joint chiefs of staff chairman mark milley that he is revoking his security detail and clearance after ordering a review of the retired general's conduct to see whether his rank should be re-evaluated
Starting point is 00:02:20 yeah they're talking about taking a star away from him. Maybe more than one. Right. He may be seeing stars before this is over. Well, Hegseth, whose first day at the Pentagon was Monday of this week, directed the Defense Department's Inspector General to look into the facts and circumstances surrounding General Milley's conduct so that the Secretary may determine whether it is appropriate to reopen his military grade review determination. That's coming from Pentagon spokesperson John Elliott. The statement did not provide specific reasons for the moves, although Defense Department Chief of Staff Joe Casper said undermining the chain of command is corrosive to our national security and restoring accountability is a priority for the defense department under president trump's leadership look at that line right there doc
Starting point is 00:03:11 undermining the chain of command he's talking about when president trump was in the white house on the first term at near the end of the term um mark Milley called the highest ranking general in the Chinese PLA and said, if Donald Trump is going to start a war with China, I'll call you and tell you ahead of time. There's no other way to view that other than treason. It's sedition. It's sedition. It's seditious. It's treasonous.
Starting point is 00:03:49 Now, I know in General Milley's defense, he would say, look, I was trying to prevent a nuclear war. The Chinese were reading news, and there were news articles that, whether they were true or not, there were news articles that, whether they were true or not, there were news articles that the Trump administration was considering an attack on China, on Chinese ships.
Starting point is 00:04:15 And again, we don't know if those articles were true, but they were circulating at the time. So in General Milley's defense, I mean, I could see his point that he was saying, hey, this is getting out of control. I called the Chinese general and said, hey, but still, that is an act of insubordination. When you're the highest ranking general of a nuclear armed nation, you don't have the option of interjecting your views into a matter. Right. The chain of command is he reports to the president. Right.
Starting point is 00:04:55 And the chain of command applies to the top general and the lowest private. That's right. They all swear an oath to the Constitution and that they will obey the orders of the president. I read an article this morning. I don't recall the source, but it said that several weeks ago, I guess this was before the inauguration, might have been sometime shortly after the election, that General Milley told some other generals that this is his words that Donald Trump is a fascist to the core. So if that's true, and I'm not seeing anything that General Milley has denied to statement.
Starting point is 00:05:40 All right. Then it means a General Milley and maybe some other generals believe that Donald Trump is Mussolini. Right. Remember the guy that got caught in the sting video with James O'Keefe? Yes. He said, I'm having a meeting tomorrow with a group of generals. Yes. In the tank, in a secure room.
Starting point is 00:06:07 Yeah, to come up with a plan. To deal with Trump. Right. Doc, Joe Biden gave a preemptive pardon. There's no such thing. But he gave a preemptive pardon to general milley i am going to venture to speculate that president trump is going to say that pardon only applies to criminal courts right it does not apply to military tribunals and And I could see where they would make that case.
Starting point is 00:06:46 And what would the Supreme, how's the Supreme Court going to react to that? Because the commander in chief has jurisdiction over military tribunals. That's correct. Okay. So if president Trump said, we're not going to, we're not going to try general Milley in a criminal court.
Starting point is 00:07:05 No, he'll get a military court-martial. And we'll execute him. And he has said on the campaign trail he should be executed. And the Supreme Court gave the president the right, the immunity, to do whatever he wants to do during his term of office and he cannot be prosecuted. And the Trump lawyers told the Supreme Court that that included executions. I'm not saying they plan to execute General Milley. I'm just saying they could.
Starting point is 00:07:43 They have the option. They have the and and the supreme court's already given the president the power to do it well i personally think joe biden look i've i believe the biden administration tried to kill donald trump because they had the court decision and said hey we can kill him and we can't be indicted for it right that's one of the worst decisions the supreme court has ever made i know it helped donald trump avoid going to prison but for the future of the country it's probably the worst decision you've gave you've given dictatorial powers to an individual yeah the. The head of state. So, General Milley, I think, is headed towards court-martial.
Starting point is 00:08:34 They're not going to stop at taking a star away from him. Okay, so they took his bodyguards away from him. He took his picture down. That's not, they're not going to stop there. He's going to be court-martialed. And if they don't execute him him he could end up spending some time in the brig. Because the argument
Starting point is 00:08:51 is going to be we have to teach all these other generals a lesson. That you can't do this. Because believe me they'll teach this at West Point for the next hundred years. Today's class is about General Milley. How not to be a general.
Starting point is 00:09:08 Right. Newsweek. Doc, you had this right yesterday. Yes. Now the governor of Mississippi, Tate Reeves, says he'd like to have bounty hunters. So,
Starting point is 00:09:25 you had it right yesterday. That's where we're headed. Bounty hunters to find illegal immigrants. And this is at the state level. Right, it's not the federal. This is the state level. So, Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves, who you see pictured there, has not ruled out supporting a proposal to pay bounty hunters
Starting point is 00:09:41 $1,000 rewards for aiding in the deportation of undocumented immigrants. Once again, this is Newsweek writing this, following a proposal by state lawmakers. When Newsweek asked whether he would back such a policy, Reeves' office issued a statement suggesting the governor is open to a wide range of measures aimed at cracking down on illegal immigration. The article from Newsweek said this.
Starting point is 00:10:06 A senior Reeves aide, Corey Custer, told Newsweek, when it comes to keeping Mississippians safe, Governor Reeves has said that nothing is off the table. And I think you'll see other states around the country that will start applying the same policy, same principle. You won't see it in the Democrat states, but you'll see it in the Republican states pretty quickly. Also, Doc, yesterday the Trump administration reclassified all illegal immigrants
Starting point is 00:10:39 as criminals. Yes. Yeah, and Carolyn Leavitt made sure that that was put out in the White House press briefing yesterday. When a reporter asked her, listen, you've got these guys that have, you know, they're the bad guys. They're, you know, they've done bad things and they're undocumented. What about just the folks that are undocumented? And Carolyn Leavitt said, then they're criminals. They are undocumented. And Carolyn Levitt said, then they're criminals. They are criminals.
Starting point is 00:11:09 Now, previous administrations may not have viewed them that way. But if you come and break America's laws by coming in illegally, you are by definition a criminal. Yes, but there was a reason that they did the reclassification. Because the raids that they've been doing so far, and you said yesterday down in South Florida, they raided, they picked up 40 Chinese illegals here in Miami. The reason that they're doing this is that sometimes in these raids where they're capturing very dangerous, violent criminals who are here illegally, there's also a handful of other illegals
Starting point is 00:11:49 who are not criminals in in the sense of they haven't raped murdered stolen that we know of so what do you do with them they're there with the hard criminals. And so I know what Mr. Homan, he's like, look, I got to take them all in. That's right. All right. So without the legal classification, I think they're afraid there's going to be a judge that's going to say, well, you got to let those go.
Starting point is 00:12:18 Right. You didn't classify them as criminals. So they just came out and said, okay, if you're here illegally, you're a criminal. You broke the law. You broke the the law that makes you a criminal so every illegal i mean every immigrant in the country illegally is now classified a criminal which changes the entire you know situation because every police officer now what's a police officer supposed to do? Hunt down and arrest criminals.
Starting point is 00:12:50 Right. Up until last week, police officers were told, no, you don't hunt down people who are here illegally. You hunt criminals but now all undocumented immigrants in the country are criminals which is where it was supposed to be in the first place but there's a reason for that change the white house is um accused this wall street journal to push out federal workers they're offering them money to quit. Right. They're buying them out. Wall Street Journal says the White House gave federal workers a choice, return to the office full time or resign and get paid for the next eight months.
Starting point is 00:13:37 You know, that's a Donald Trump idea. Oh, yes. So in a Tuesday night email, the Office of Personnel Management told federal workers they have until February 6th to decide how they want to proceed. If they step down, they will continue to receive all pay and benefits and will be exempt from in-person work requirements until September 30th. But the Trump administration made clear that even those government employees who stay on could still eventually lose their jobs as the president works to downsize the federal government. And quoting the journal here, at this time, we cannot give you full assurance regarding the certainty of your position.
Starting point is 00:14:16 This was in the email that the OPM sent out. But should your position be eliminated, you will be treated with dignity and will be afforded the protections in place for such positions. The White House said it is considering relocating some government offices and downsizing agencies through restructuring, furloughs, and reclassifying employees so they have fewer job protections. Purging the federal government of dedicated career federal employees will have vast unintended consequences that will cause chaos for the Americans who depend on a functioning federal government. That's coming from Everett Kelly, who is the president of the American Federation of Government Employees, which represents many federal workers. Okay, so, Doc, this is the classic sandwich maneuver. And again, classic Donald Trump. He's a corporate executive, a billionaire.
Starting point is 00:15:28 So his first action, the first layer of the sandwich, all right, the first piece of bread, okay, um here's an executive order if you're working from home you have to report by what february 6th yes that's the first one that's that's the first piece of bread in the sandwich so he's laid down the law you've got one week to show up or else you don't show up or else. You don't show up, you're fired. Right. Second piece of the sandwich is the filling. We're actually kind of nice and we're not against you. Hey, we'll pay you
Starting point is 00:15:59 eight months if you quit. Yes. That's the filling. We'll give you eight months pay. You can sit home. You want to, you like sitting home. We'll actually pay you another eight months to sit home. At the end of the eight months, your money runs out. But that's the nice filling in the sandwich. Then the next layer of the sandwich is we cannot give you an assurance about the certainty of your position. Yeah, if you choose to remain. Right.
Starting point is 00:16:35 And I don't know if you saw the actual email that the OPM sent out, but they said, if you wish to resign, reply to this email with the word resign. It's like hot dog. I like that. That's the approach I'm going to do from now on. Click resign. If I have to let somebody go, I'm going to say, if you choose to take this offer, just reply, resign. You don't have to say anything else. You don't have to make a case.
Starting point is 00:17:01 You don't have to vent or anything. Just type resign and we'll work to help you out on that. You just click the resign button. So, what they're doing, honestly, this is not about downsizing the government. I know that. This is about getting hundreds of thousands of Democrats out of the government. That's right.
Starting point is 00:17:26 That's exactly right. And they will restock those positions with Republicans. I mean, essentially, aren't all these far-left Democrats that are working in the federal government, haven't they essentially been receiving a UBI? Sure they have. I mean, that's what it is. Between federal workers and some of these grants to NGOs that have been cut off and everything. Doc, something I've always wanted to do is decentralize the federal government. I'm talking about the physically decentralized.
Starting point is 00:17:56 Oh, yes. I'm all for that. We shouldn't have everything in Washington, D.C. anyway. It's like Department of Agriculture. Put it in Iowa. Right. Or Kansas. And aren't they moving the FBI headquarters to Alabama or something like that?
Starting point is 00:18:11 Is it the full headquarters is moving? I don't know. I don't know either. But do that. Break it up and move it around the country. And don't put it in big, you know, far leftist liberal states and cities. Move it to smaller and make the federal workers associate with real Americans. Right.
Starting point is 00:18:34 People that actually get up and go to work every day and take care of their families. These government agencies should be spread to, you know, to South Dakota, to Wyoming, to Alabama places. And they say that in that email. It says the White House said it is considering relocating some government offices. So, hey, I'm all for that. That's because the GSA has – they're absolutely overstocked with government offices. They've got to get out of these buildings. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:19:02 But a lot of these buildings are in Washington, D.C. D.C. is going to end up being a ghost buildings. Absolutely. But a lot of these buildings are in Washington, D.C. D.C. is going to end up being a ghost town. Yes. Would Donald Trump, would he say, let's just build a new Capitol? Hmm.
Starting point is 00:19:17 I don't like this White House. Let's build a new one. Let's turn this into a tourist site. And let's build a new capital somewhere I don't put it past you we wouldn't be the first country to do that no no
Starting point is 00:19:31 it's a very good idea and it makes your capital less of a target right you can't hit one city and take out the whole federal government it would make sense to spread it around the country. We've got a clip here of our new press secretary.
Starting point is 00:19:56 I don't even know her name, Doc. Carolyn Leavitt. Carolyn? Yes. Carolyn Leavitt. 27 years old. She's sharp. She didn't have a job.
Starting point is 00:20:06 She didn't have a big binder like the other press secretaries either. I don't know when I was 27 if I could handle that job. I know I couldn't. I liked Kaylee McInerney. I liked her. But I'm telling you, Carolyn Leavitt is a step above. She came outside and a reporter started asking her about, you know, laying off or ordering all these employees to come back. This is how she handled it. This is a suggestion to federal workers that they have to return to work.
Starting point is 00:20:40 And if they don't, then they have the option to resign. And this administration is very generously offering to pay them for eight months. Six percent of the federal workforce in the city actually shows up to work. That's unacceptable. We're all here at work at the office. There are law enforcement officers and teachers and nurses across the country who showed up to the office today. People in this city need to do the same. It's an overwhelmingly popular policy with people outside of Washington, D.C. The president campaigned on this and his administration is keeping the promise.
Starting point is 00:21:10 Quick question to follow up on that. How much more is it going to cost because a lot of the space has now been given away, leases have expired, new purchases need to take place? What will it cost to bring all those workers back to create the new offices they need? It's going to save tens of millions of dollars because this administration or this government has been wasting millions of dollars on empty office space. That is beautiful. I mean, look at the buildings in this city. They're gorgeous. They've been here for decades and the American people are paying for them. And so we're going to make good use of the office space in the city by having these federal workers return to work i would also add that the order simply directs federal agencies to come up with a return to work plan and so this
Starting point is 00:21:52 isn't a purge and this isn't forcing every single individual in washington dc to return to work only if they are able and of course within the law very well spoken young lady she's going to do well in that job Rick the fireworks in DC oh man doc they were out to get Bobby Kennedy today hey did you see the chemtrails today here did you see them
Starting point is 00:22:16 no I got here when it's still dark oh man the skies were full my ride here the skies were full and the jet they were still laying them down and the x's were in the sky i haven't seen that many chemtrails in florida in years i thought this must be in celebration of bobby kennedy what are they laying down on us rick and so so you were a kid were there any chemtrails no no the first time i saw chemtrails was in 1999 that's the first time i saw one now they may have started in 98 90 but
Starting point is 00:22:55 that's when the sky started to fill up with these things well anyhow very early this morning i knew what kind of a day bob Kennedy was going to have. When I opened up the telegraph in London, RFK is a predator who put mice in a blender. Bobby Kennedy, what's wrong with you? Look what this guy does. He cut off the head of a whale and tied it to his van. He put a dead bear in Central Park. And now he puts mice in blenders and grinds them up, Doc. And this is coming from his cousin, Carolyn Kennedy, Robert Kennedy Jr.
Starting point is 00:23:41 And she called him a predator. Okay, now that's a big word there, Rick. Called him a predator. This is John F. Kennedy's daughter, Caroline. Right. Former ambassador. I forget who she was an ambassador to. His cousin has claimed in a letter that was submitted to lawmakers.
Starting point is 00:24:02 So she took time, Rick, to write a letter and said, don't vote for Bobby. He puts mice in a blender. Carolyn Kennedy claimed that Mr. Kennedy, Donald Trump's nominee for U.S. Health and Human Services, would put chicks and mice in a blender in a perverse scene of despair and violence. As if, I can just picture Bobby Kennedy,
Starting point is 00:24:25 alright, the next one, going in the blender, will it be a mouse or will it be a chick? Oh, why not both? And just put them in. Well, this is a guy that ate a dog, right? Yeah, supposedly. He ate a dog in Korea. Or picked up roadkill. Remember he was driving
Starting point is 00:24:43 around New Hampshire in Massachusetts picking up roadkill. It's was driving around New Hampshire, Massachusetts, picking up roadkill. It's a hot dog. It's an armadillo. I better pull over and get that thing. But this is the kind of attack that they've had on Robert Kennedy, coming from another Kennedy, mind you. I feel sorry for him.
Starting point is 00:24:59 I mean, it's bad enough to be attacked, to have a political attack against you. But when they use family members, you know it hurts. You know it hurts. Oh, yeah. It stings when they use family members to attack and tear you down. But just to give you an idea, the way the Democrats—it wasn't just the Democrats. There were some Republicans also. ideas the way the democrats it wasn't just the democrats there was you know some republicans also
Starting point is 00:25:25 um they accused him of wanting to take away your cheeseburgers yes and he had to say under oath i don't plan to take away anybody's cheeseburgers i mean my boss likes cheeseburgers and diet can you imagine you're in the Senate and under oath you have to swear you're not going to take away the American people's cheeseburgers? Here it is. I don't want to take food away from anybody. If you like a cheeseburger, a McDonald's cheeseburger, a diet Coke, which my boss loves, you should be be able to get them if you want to eat hostess dwingies you should be able to do that but you should know what the impacts are on your family and on your health okay the next one i'll swear you won't ban cheeseburgers the next one gets a
Starting point is 00:26:21 little bit nastier we go from he's going to take away our cheeseburgers. And this is Senator Ron Wyden of Oregon. And he's reading the Riot Act to Bobby Kennedy, challenging him that you are against settled science. What does that mean? Vaccines. That's right. Now, it was the pharmaceutical industry that was there today. Oh, yes.
Starting point is 00:26:52 All their little prostitutes were working the street. Literally. They were working the street today showing the pharmaceutical companies just what they can do. This is Senator Ron Wyden. The question before the Finance Committee this morning is whether Robert F. Kennedy should be trusted with the health and well-being of the American people. Committee staff have examined thousands of pages of statements, books, and podcast transcripts in a review of his record. The receipts show that Mr. Kennedy has embraced conspiracy theories, quacks, charlatans, especially when it comes to the safety and efficacy of vaccines. He has made it his life's work to sow doubt and discourage parents from getting their
Starting point is 00:27:57 kids life-saving vaccines. It has been lucrative for him and put him on the verge of immense power. This is the profile of someone who chases money and influence wherever they lead, even if that may mean the tragic deaths of children and other vulnerable people. Now, Mr. Kennedy is fond of saying he's not making recommendations about whether parents should vaccinate their children. He's just asking questions and giving people choices. It's a slippery tactic to dodge any real responsibility for his words and actions. And it is in my view absurd coming from somebody who's trying to win confirmation for a job
Starting point is 00:28:52 that is entirely about making recommendations. These recommendations are gonna have life or death consequences for the American people. Mr. Kennedy, if you are confirmed, your recommendations determine which vaccines senior citizens get for free through Medicare. Your recommendation will determine which vaccines are given to millions of kids. Peddling these anti-vaccine conspiracy theories as our chief health officer is going to endanger the lives of kids and seniors across the nation. Just look at what happened when Mr.
Starting point is 00:29:36 Kennedy inserted himself into an anti-vaccination crisis in the island nation of Samoa. He traveled there himself to push his views and pour fuel on the fire of a measles outbreak that began due to low vaccination rates. In the end, 83 Samoans died, mostly kids, from a disease that is easily preventable. Americans cannot afford to import this experiment to our great nation. Now what Senator Wyden is referring to is there were not one but two separate incidences in Samoa where people died of measles. But Robert Kennedy went there because there was a relation. These ones that had died of measles had been vaccinated.
Starting point is 00:30:35 It wasn't that they were unvaccinated, but they had been vaccinated. The senator didn't say that, did he? No, he didn't say that, did he? No, he didn't. And so in the next clip here where you have the representative from Hawaii that makes a comment, he's making the comment that what Robert F. Kennedy is proposing here is all of America will be part of this new experiment on whether or not vaccines work. Well, not only that, but he used the tactic. This is Senator Brian Schatz of Hawaii. He said Bobby Kennedy wants to conduct Tuskegee, Alabama experimental. If you know what Tuskegee represents, it's when the U.S. government was experimenting on black men with syphilis.
Starting point is 00:31:23 Yes. Some of which died horrible deaths. Okay. Well, hey, Senator, who did that? The U.S. government. So if you had been around at that time, Senator, you would have been on the side of the experiments. Right, because the pharmaceutical companies would be the ones promoting them.
Starting point is 00:31:42 That's right. So he very, I mean, it's a very cheap shot to say, if Kennedy gets in this job, he's going to do Tuskegee experiments on everybody. Which is implying he's going to give, literally, we're going to spread the disease around because he's going to experiment on the American people. I mean, it's a really twisted argument, but it's all about vaccines. The only topic that got these guys worked up today were vaccines. Yes. Man, that's their idol. Right.
Starting point is 00:32:21 They got to protect the vaccine industry. But here, listen to this cheap shot. Senator Brian Schatz. That RFK Jr. wants to conduct the Tuskegee experiments on all of us. He wants to observe the disease process population wide. But I believe, I believe, don't know. I believe the Democrats will be united. And I think we can defeat this nomination, not for partisan reasons, not because I particularly want to poke the president in the eye on this one,
Starting point is 00:32:55 but because I truly believe that if he runs HHS, that millions will die. Millions will die. Millions will die. Millions. If we confirm Robert Kennedy, millions will die. Well, I'll point out here that Senator Schatz and Senator Wyden are both members of the tribe. Yes. And the pharmaceutical companies are heavily populated with tribal investors. I'm trying to dance around this.
Starting point is 00:33:32 Okay. The next one, this is Senator Warnock of Georgia, and he's going after Bobby Kennedy and said, you compared the CDC to Nazi death camps. Here it is. You have compared the CDC's work to Nazi death camps. You've compared it to sexual abusers in the Catholic Church. You've also said that many of them belong, this is a direct quote, many of them belong in jail. For me, those are disturbing characterizations of the CDC workers that I know who are trying to keep the American public safe every single day. And as you are a member of the CDC. I know that you are a member of
Starting point is 00:34:25 the CDC workers that I know who are trying to keep the American public safe every single day. And as you are presenting as the nominee for this position, I need to know, do you stand by those statements that you made in the past or do you retract
Starting point is 00:34:41 those previous statements? Senator, I don't believe that I ever compared the CDC to Nazi death camps. I support the CDC. My job is not to dismantle or harm the CDC. My job is to empower the scientists if I'm privileged to be confirmed. So you retract those statements? I'm not retracting it. I never said it.
Starting point is 00:35:01 Well, actually, I have a transcript. Of me saying that it's a Nazi death camp? Let me read your words. It says that the institution CDC and the vaccine program, is your description of their work, is more important than the children that it's supposed to protect. And, you know, it's the same reason we had a pedophile scandal in the Catholic Church. It's because people were able to convince themselves that the institution of the church was more important than these little boys
Starting point is 00:35:28 and girls who were being raped. That's pretty provocative language. You said in another statement to me this is like Nazi death camp. I mean let me finish I'm just reading your words. I mean, what happens, what happened to these kids? One in 31 boys in this country, their minds are being robbed from them. Yeah, I was not comparing the CDC to Nazi death camps. I was comparing the injury rate to our children to other atrocities. And the senator knows that. Yeah. But the pharmaceutical lobbyists gave him the questions. Yes.
Starting point is 00:36:12 You know all this stuff came from the pharmaceutical lobbyists. And speaking of pharmaceutical lobbyists and senators, this next clip here we have Senator Tina Smith, who appeared to be defending antidepressants. Not appeared. She was defending antidepressants for children. Yes. Senator Tina Smith. Let's watch.
Starting point is 00:36:38 So you can't say that people— To impose any preconceived ideas that I may have, I just want to have good science. So you're not saying that they aren't dangerous, which means that they could be dangerous. Let me ask you this. That's not true. You've described Americans who take mental health medications as addicts who need to be sent to wellness farms to recover. Is that what you believe? Of course I didn't say that anybody should be compelled to do anything.
Starting point is 00:37:02 No, but you said they should be sent. I said they should be available to them. I didn't say they should be compelled to do anything. No, but you said they should be sent. I said they should be available to them. I didn't say they should be sent. You said that folks that take antidepressants are like addicts. I can provide that, Mr. Chair. I think they should have the availability. Listen, I know people, including members of my family, who've had a much worse time getting off of SSRIs
Starting point is 00:37:24 than people have getting off of SSRIs than they did get than people have getting off of heroin. It's the withdrawal period is I mean and it's written on the label. I have some experience with this myself Mr. Kennedy I this is personal for me when I was a young woman and I was struggling with depression thankfully I had the resources to help me get through it, including a new generation of SSRI uptake re-inhibitors, which helped to clear my mind, get me back on track to being a mom and a wife and a productive, happy person. And I'm really grateful for that therapy. So I have some experience with this, and I think that everyone should have access to that care.
Starting point is 00:38:05 And your job as secretary is to expand access to care, not to spread lies and misinformation. And, you know, the things that you say, Mr. Kennedy, they live on. They have impact. And, you know, we're having this conversation at the same moment that my Republican colleagues are looking to try to figure out how to save money any way they can. So they want to cut Medicaid. Let's just think about this for a minute because you're going to be, should you be confirmed, you would be responsible for CMS, which provides mental and behavioral health care to millions of Americans. Close to 40% of folks on Medicaid have a behavioral health condition. And you would be part of this administration that would be looking to cut Medicaid. So, Mr. Kennedy, these statements that you've made linking antidepressants to school shootings,
Starting point is 00:38:55 they reinforce the stigma that people who experience mental health every day face every single day. And I'm very concerned that this is another example of your record of sharing false and misleading information that actually really hurts people. Senator, you're mischaracterizing my statements. I am only putting into the record what you have said, Mr. Kennedy. You're mischaracterizing my statements. And I'm happy that you had a good experience on SSRIs. Many Americans have a very good experience on it.
Starting point is 00:39:28 Others have not. But that would be an issue between them and their physicians, and not for the future head of HHS to be putting out misinformation about the dangers of SSRIs and other antidepressant medication spreading the stigma and the fear that we're actually trying to overcome. Do you think physicians, when they make that prescription, ought to have access to good science? Of course they do. That's all I believe, too. And you and I are in agreement, Senator.
Starting point is 00:39:56 And to your point that you made when you made these statements, it was not based on good science. I don't know what it was based on. I was saying the science needed to be done. I was saying these are potential culprits. We're coterminous. And I named other things. I said video games. I said social media. I said SSRIs. SSRIs have a black box warning, warning of suicidal homicidal behavior. Mr. Chair, I will submit to the chair the information that I have about what Mr. Kennedy has said linking antidepressants to school shootings. Thank you. Now, Rick, let me just say this. If you go to McDonald's and you
Starting point is 00:40:32 get a cup of coffee, do you know they put a warning label on coffee cups now? It says, caution, hot. Why do they do that? Because the coffee's hot. Because there's some people out there that may not believe that coffee's actually hot. They'll have a warning on a coffee cup, but she doesn't want anyone to be warned about the potential negative effects of SSRIs. Mainly it's on the coffee cup because McDonald's been sued yes by people who scalded themselves with hot coffee not all right okay so you so you you dropped your coffee and you you scalded your
Starting point is 00:41:14 your hand or your leg all right so you're going to sue mcdonald's that's why they put it there like okay we got to tell you uh dingbats, that this is hot, okay? But yes, she doesn't want a warning label. But I guarantee you she wants a warning label on cigarettes. Right. I bet if she could get with a warning label about firearms, ammo. What this shows you is how much control the drug industry has in Washington. Yes. You are not allowed to question the drug industry has in washington yes you are not allowed to question the drug industry that's all there is to it you can't question them how dare you question
Starting point is 00:41:55 the fact that most school shooters were using antidepressants she uses antidepressants look she grew up to be a Democrat senator. That should be enough right there to put a warning on the label. Okay. So one more. Well, no, I got two more. No. Yeah, two more.
Starting point is 00:42:16 We have two more. Okay. Do we want to see this next one? Well, why don't we just go ahead and go down. Just go down. I want you to see Senator Whitehouse. This one, this one's raw. He ordered Bobby Kennedy to swear that he would not criticize vaccines.
Starting point is 00:42:41 He went down a list. Do you want me to vote for you? This is what you have to do. This is Senator Whitehorse. If you want to move from advocacy to public responsibility, Americans are going to need a clear and trustworthy recantation of what you have said on vaccinations, including a promise from you never to say vaccines aren't medically safe when they in fact are, and And making indisputably clear that you support mandatory vaccinations against diseases where that will keep people safe. You must recant. Didn't that sound like a Nazi?
Starting point is 00:43:37 Yes. And you have to promise you will never say vaccines are not safe. And you must agree that vaccines are not safe. And you must agree that vaccines must be mandatory. Why not just do the how Hitler there? Yes. Senator. Because that's what you sound like, a Nazi.
Starting point is 00:44:00 Again, this is really revealing the power that the drug in. It's pharmaceutical. It's witchcraft. Yes. Okay. Where does the word come from?
Starting point is 00:44:14 Pharmakeia. What? Pharmakeia. Yes, Pharmakeia, which is the Greek word for witchcraft, sorcery. Using potions. Yes. Specifically. We didn't come up with that name. That's the name. They gave themselves. for witchcraft, sorcery. Using potions, specifically. We didn't come up with that name.
Starting point is 00:44:27 That's the name. They gave themselves. Now, I will say this about the, I watched the whole hearing today with Mr. Kennedy. There were five times where the gallery broke out in applause. It wasn't for the Democrats. They were applauding for Kennedy.
Starting point is 00:44:45 And his responses and his answers. So, you know, I think he's going to get confirmed. I really have confidence in that. But you've got to know that if you're a senator sitting in there and you hear applause for Robert Kennedy, you really ought to be rethinking your position in your policy but the checks from the pharmaceutical companies make a big difference they do but the democrats have yet to figure out since the election why they lost yeah they just keep going with the
Starting point is 00:45:18 same stuff that caused them to lose yeah they didn't learn anything mbc boston bird flu now widespread in massachusetts state environmental health officials said wednesday that bird flu is suspected to be the cause of death in cases of both wild and domestic birds in several massachusetts communities as a result the massachusetts division of fisheries and wildlife the department of agriculture resources in the massachusetts Department of Public Health are advising the public to refrain from handling birds or other animals that are dead or appear sick and to report such cases to the state. Then we go down to Raleigh. This is RAL-TV. Second bird flu outbreak detected in North Carolina as egg prices approach record highs. Next one is ABC News.
Starting point is 00:46:13 Egg prices may increase up to 20% as top farm tests positive for bird flu, says the USDA. So one of the nation's top egg producers confirmed that one of its farms tested positive for bird flu over the weekend. Rose Acres Farms, which is the second largest egg producer in the United States. That's significant. Released a statement saying that it had detected cases of the highly pathogenic bird flu at the Court Acre Egg Farm in Seymour, Indiana. With farms across the U.S. testing positive for bird flu, the USDA predicts the egg prices will rise up to 20% this year due to shortages of eggs. You can still get powdered eggs at american reserves okay yes now here's the thing doc as we replenish the powdered eggs the prices are going to go up yes so you know it's wise to get the eggs now, the powdered eggs at American Reserves, because later in the year, as the supplies run out, they have to be replenished at the higher prices. Right. So the USDA is already telling you you're going can tell you for a fact that American Reserves is being hit with some astronomical price increases from the suppliers. Shocking. Like making
Starting point is 00:47:57 me gasp. Like, are you serious? The prices are going up now. We haven't made to purchase this yet because we still have supplies in stock. But I'm just telling you what we have in stock right now. Those are the old prices. Right. When those products run out, we have to go to the new prices. And there's going to be sticker shock. And it's not us.
Starting point is 00:48:21 It's not American Reserves doing it. It's like this is what the food suppliers are saying. This is the new price. This is what we are now charging for food. And it is quite alarming. But you're going to see with eggs. Have you run into egg problems at all? Well, we get our eggs from a local neighbor that has some chickens. All right. Okay. It went up a buck or so. Okay. But she's not a lady that will stick it to you or anything like that. Okay. All right.
Starting point is 00:48:55 But I've seen the prices in the grocery store, and I've gone, oh, man. And I've seen the signs up in the grocery store saying we are experiencing inventory supply disruptions. And a number of stores here in this area have had empty or near empty shelves at various times. Susan and I have gone into stores looking for eggs. And, of course, eggs, they're a domino food. In other words, they are a component of so many other foods. And because egg prices go up, these other food prices go up, too. Precisely.
Starting point is 00:49:32 So another story related to bird flu, this one coming out of San Francisco at KTVU. H5N9 bird flu outbreak, new virus strain detected on California duck farm. Pay attention to this one. Whenever you see new virus strain, that's a warning. That's usually how you get a pandemic going when you hear that a new strain of a virus has been seen okay uh they're not saying yet that this is spreading quickly but it's a it's a strain of the bird flu virus they have not seen i think in the united states at all right so that that's a warning to see uh the next one we'll change the topics here i This was in the Telegraph in London.
Starting point is 00:50:27 A teenager in Great Britain was banned from football for six matches for asking if the players on the other side were men. Right. Just for asking the question. Just asking the question. Like, it's an 18-year-old girl who's playing football on the girls' team. Right. And she said to the referee, you know the girls on the other side? They kind of act like guys.
Starting point is 00:51:06 And so she's banned for asking the question. And even the Telegraph story tries to make this girl a villain. Yes. It says, a second, now this is the second incident of this happening. A second teenage footballer has been handed a six-match ban for asking whether adult transgender opponents she was playing were men, just for asking. Now listen to how the Telegraph does this. An 18-year-old, whom Telegraph Sport has been told has both ADHD and learning difficulties, Rick, was sanctioned by a national serious case panel. They've got a panel for this.
Starting point is 00:51:45 In a case with parallels to that for which a 17-year-old girl with suspected autism was handed a similar suspension. Now, Telegraph goes on to say the second teen was charged by her county football association over comments she made to a referee during a match in September, the same month she turned 18. It was alleged she said, Ref, have you checked if all their players are eligible to play? Look at their keeper, their goalkeeper, and for example, their number 10 is obviously a man or something similar. She was banned for six matches, two of which were suspended after accepting the charge brought under National Football Association rules.
Starting point is 00:52:26 They got a rule for this. That allows those born male to play in women's matches. So there's widespread mental illness in Great Britain. That's what this is. It's mental illness. The leaders of Great Britain are mentally ill. Yes. But then they accuse those questioning that as being mentally ill.
Starting point is 00:52:48 That's what I mean. This is so, it's upside down. What Great Britain needs is Nigel Farage to take on transgenderism like Donald Trump has. Yes. And I bet they'll find out that most of the people in Great Britain are against it.
Starting point is 00:53:09 It's just the elite. And the elite are saying, hey, if we have to, we'll put you in jail. Yes. For questioning. Scotland,
Starting point is 00:53:17 it's against the law to post anything online against transgendered people. You will go to prison for it in Scotland. So this is what happens when mentally ill people gain power. Right. I want to go through some stories here very quickly here. Wall Street Journal, OpenAI, this is the
Starting point is 00:53:43 owners of ChatGP gpt seeking whether china's deep seek used its models meaning open ai to train the new chat bottom line the story is open ai says china you know ripped off our code they ripped off our code which they probably did yeah why why would i be shocked yeah so i'm not shocked by it but it used to be open ai until it went private yes but here's what i want you to see today so deep seek was announced on january 20th yes they. They timed it, Doc. They timed the announcement of Deep Sea to coincide with Donald Trump's inauguration. That was not an accident.
Starting point is 00:54:35 China timed it. Oh, by the way, the race is on for AI, Mr. Trump. It took a few days for it to start catching on and everything. And then it hit the stock market and everything. So today, Alibaba said they have an AI that's better than DeepSeek. Yes.
Starting point is 00:55:00 So, again, this is also part of the plan where China is rolling out every week. It'll be curious, Doc, to see what this does to the New York Stock Exchange tomorrow. Right. So you've got DeepSeek, you've got Alibaba, and there are reports there's going to be a third major announcement regarding AI from China tomorrow or Friday. Right. So I'm expecting some stock market turbulence. major announcement regarding AI from China tomorrow or Friday. All right. So I'm expecting some stock market turbulence, which is a good reason why you should seriously consider contacting the folks at GoCo and just learning about moving some or all of your portfolio into
Starting point is 00:55:44 precious metals. And because I just see turbulence at the stock markets. See, we're in World War III. Yes. And the battles are being fought, but they're not being fought with tanks and infantrymen. They're being fought in cyber attacks. Ones and zeros.
Starting point is 00:56:06 And financial attacks. We've got another story here. I'll have to save it for another day where Germany has said they're under attack by China. Yes. Their infrastructure, they're under attack. So it's World War III. The thing about being prepared, whether it's dehydrated food or gold, what you're doing is that you're being prepared for the thing that you're not prepared for. That's right. And what you're not prepared for is the sudden, the sudden arrival of something you didn't expect to happen today.
Starting point is 00:56:47 You know, there's a verse in the book of Job that says, the thing which I greatly feared has come upon me. Yes. So he knew about it. He feared it. But was he prepared for it? And so. And Satan knew what he was afraid of.
Starting point is 00:57:00 Yes. And Satan brought what he, what Job was afraid of. The thing that i feared has come upon me all right so again this is why i stress preparedness uh folks at gold co 844 960 gold i personally i mean i'm not obviously i'm not a financial advisor i just think there will be financial turbulence in the tech stocks tomorrow. Because, look, if you're an investor and you've got substantial money invested in American tech companies, and the Chinese are rolling out every couple of days a better version of AI.
Starting point is 00:57:39 Look, AI, whoever wins AI is going to run the world. Yes. And they'll win every war in the future. Yes. And the war that we're in, World War III, they'll win World War. Whoever is controlling AI in this war will win it by 2030, 2032. Because you'll be able, AI will be able to shut down the other side's military operations. And just think about it.
Starting point is 00:58:11 If your opponent has superior artificial intelligence and takes control of your entire military, you can't get anything done. Yes. You can't launch missiles. You can't do anything. yes you can't launch missiles you can't do anything because ai is in control a couple more i want to i want to end with some robots so uh this is south china morning post china's spring festival gala delivers rock and roll, robots, political messages. The Spring Festival Gala is a big event in China during the Lunar New Year. And this TV show, it's every year at New Year's. But this year, it featured dancing robots.
Starting point is 00:59:03 Yes. You know how many views this TV show got? 2.8 billion. Billion views. So you've got humans and robots dancing on what was live television in China. I mean, it is pretty incredible. Folks,
Starting point is 00:59:30 you better get used to this because within a couple years, robots are going to be everywhere. Everywhere. I want you to see this. The robots underwent three months of AI-driven training. It was AI that trained the robots to do the dance.
Starting point is 00:59:50 It wasn't a choreographer. It was AI teaching the dance moves. Amazing. Then Elon Musk. um then elon musk uh elon musk plans on building at least a half million optimist robots by 2027 a half million yes this is for the united states yes so you're going to be working in manufacturing plants, and your co-worker is going to look like that. Yes. Are you ready for this? This is 26, 27.
Starting point is 01:00:36 That's not that far away, folks. Think what you were doing two years ago. I've got a couple short videos. This will only take about less than three minutes, but I want you to hear what Elon Musk said in this interview. He said that humanoid robots will be the biggest product in history. Here it is. When can I get a home robot? Okay. Right. Well, so that's the other element is our humanoid robots. So I think probably most people, if not everyone, would like to have their own personal C3PO R2D2.
Starting point is 01:01:16 And I actually think humanoid robots will be the biggest product ever in history by far. I agree. Yeah, it's just wild because you can just say, well, every human is going to want one most likely and some will want two and then there'll be all of industry in terms of making, providing products and services. So you have to say, what's the ratio of humanoid robots to humans? My guess is it's at least three to one, four to one, maybe five to one. So we're talking about 20, 30 billion humanoid robots.
Starting point is 01:01:50 And it's not even clear what money means at that point or if there's any meaningful cap on the economy. I think at that point, assuming that things haven't gone awry, you know, in the good AI scenario, I think we won't have universal basic income. We'll have universal high income. Universal what? High income. High income. How many robots did he predict? Three to every human.
Starting point is 01:02:21 But how total? What were you talking about? He said between 15 and 20 billion. Billion? Right. Well, that's based upon three for every human. But how – total? What were you talking about? You said between 15 and 20 billion. Billion? Right. Well, that's based upon three for every human being. But I don't think – He wasn't saying three humans for every robot.
Starting point is 01:02:34 No, three robots for every human. I mean you might have a robot human robot, a dog robot. You may have the household cleaner robot. I mean I guess it all depends on what your definition of a robot is. But I think he means a self-motivating, self-controlled device that works alongside humans. I don't see how he translates that to universal high income. I would think that at some point humanity, just knowing the way humans operate, is that they would despair over this because suddenly they have no purpose anymore. They have nothing to do.
Starting point is 01:03:21 What are we all going to do? Take community college courses? Learn how to macrame? Is that where we're headed here? Do you know that the sins of Sodom that brought on the destruction, yes, homosexuality was part of it. Right. But it wasn't the main reason. Right. The sodomy was not the main reason.
Starting point is 01:03:45 The sodomy was the product of the main sin. Yes. The main sin was leisure time and wealth. Yes. The people of Sodom had so much leisure time and so much money. They didn't have anything to do other than the most perverted sex that they could come up with. Right.
Starting point is 01:04:05 This is where the whole planet's going. That's right. Well, in another clip here in that same interview, how fast are we talking here? Well, Elon Musk is saying that by 2027, you could easily see a half million Optimus robots out in the workforce. Within two years. Within two years. Watch this. So do you think five years for my first robot?
Starting point is 01:04:38 Well, for Tesla, our Optimus robot really is, unless somebody's got something secret we don't know about. The Optimus robot is the most sophisticated humanoid robot in the world. It's got a hand that has 22 degrees of freedom. It looks and feels like a human hand. And, you know, we're aiming to have several thousand of those built this year. Initially, we'll test them out at Tesla factories. But then, assuming things go well, we'll 10x that output next year.
Starting point is 01:05:13 So we'll aim to do maybe 50,000 to 100,000 human-read robots next year, and then 10x it again the following year. It's like 500,000 robots in three years. That's a lot. That is a lot. Yeah. So I guess, maybe we should think of this in terms of Roman legions. How many legions of robots should we have? Like a Roman legion is 5,000. Like that. Because there's military applications to this. Yes. He just exposed exposed something didn't he yes
Starting point is 01:05:47 Roman legions of robots he said something about the hand he mentioned the hand of the robots did you hear him say that I heard it but I'm not sure he talked about how many different movements the hand can do the robot hand I think he said 27 different motions here's why i paid attention to that when we were in in dabbles with president trump 2020 there was a presentation very small room there might have been 25 30 people in the room and there was an Asian scientist who was talking to the high-level delegates of World Economic Forum about robots. And when it was over, I went up to him to talk. And I said, sir, one of my questions was, how long until we actually see the robots being introduced in the world? And he said, Rick, it's a long way off.
Starting point is 01:06:52 I said, why do you say that? He said, I've never forgotten this. He said, we can't figure out how to make the hand. I said, why is that important? He goes, and he went into detail about how difficult it was to make a robotic hand that works. He said, but I will tell you this. When they figure out the hand, that's when the robots are coming out. So the only thing that's holding it back, he said, the only thing holding it back is the hand. And he just said, we've got the hand.
Starting point is 01:07:29 Oh, my goodness. So I had a dream a couple months ago that I had this humanoid robot in my house, and it came into my bedroom at night while I was sleeping and tried to choke me. I remember waking up in a dream. I woke up in a dream. I was asleep in bed. I woke up and there's a robot that's got metallic hands around me
Starting point is 01:07:54 trying to choke me. I was fighting with this thing trying to find his power pack. That was weird. I remember you telling me that dream before. Strange dream. Elon Musk is our last bit on this. But Elon Musk has already said, and they're ramping up now because they're building the factory for these robots as we speak, that even in the coming year, in 2026, we could easily see anywhere between 50,000 to 100,000 robots.
Starting point is 01:08:24 Next year. Next year. Next year. That's just from Tesla. Tesla, no. And when this starts rolling, you're going to have a dozen different players initially that enter into this. Well, we saw the Chinese video. I mean, the dancing robots. China wants you to know, look what we have.
Starting point is 01:08:39 We have robots. Right. They can dance. But they're not making robots to do course lines. China's making robots primarily for war. World War III will be a robotic war. Here's the last video. We're aiming
Starting point is 01:09:01 to have several thousand of those built this year. Initially we'll, we'll, we'll test them out and at Tesla factories. But then assuming things go well, we will, we'll 10 X that, that output next year. So we'll aim to do maybe 50 to a hundred thousand humanoid robots next year. And then 10 X of the gain the following year. It's like 500,000 robots in three years. That's a lot. That is a lot.
Starting point is 01:09:27 Yeah. So I guess, maybe we should think of this in terms of Roman legions. How many? Okay, so what he's saying is that this year, they are going to produce 10,000 robots this year.
Starting point is 01:09:39 In 2025. And up to 100,000 in 2026. Do you remember months ago, the video that we showed the young man? The construction worker. The construction worker, the electrician. And he said, hey, I have never worked this hard in my life. They are pushing us seven days a week at the Tesla robot plant. He said, folks, I'm telling you,
Starting point is 01:10:06 they're building robots in there. For those of you who donated for us to go to Mobile World Congress, God bless you. Thank you so much. We will be there the first week of March, and we will hear a lot about robots. We'll hear about flying cars
Starting point is 01:10:27 I hope the graphene lady is there again the graphene lady oh she was way out doc to me it was like woo woo land but when I started reading about what she was saying, that's at another level. Like intelligent graphene? I don't even know. She was talking, basically, they're working on plans that's just going to revolutionize matter.
Starting point is 01:11:05 Yeah. It was pretty far out. She was probably the most far out speaker I heard. Well, we're heading back to Barcelona. We are going there. Thank you so much for sending us. We'll be doing reports every day for that week. And everything's set.
Starting point is 01:11:23 We have the plane tickets bought. Do you know the plane tickets went up? Folks, this is real. The plane tickets jumped $2,000 each. Wow. Within a day after I bought the tickets. Thank you. Okay. I bought the tickets right away. As soon as the money started coming in, I bought the tickets right away. And the next day, I had a travel agency booking it for me he called me back he goes Rick they're up $2,000 each
Starting point is 01:11:52 not at $2,000 but gone up $2,000 they had gone up $2,000 from the price that we paid so thank you we were able to get in apparently everybody it just seemed like everybody in the United States who was thinking about going to Mobile World, apparently the same week decided. Well, with all the news and AI and everything, that would be the place to be, wouldn't it?
Starting point is 01:12:14 Yes. So a lot of decisions were made the same week we made our decision. And people said, yeah, I'm going to go. I'm going to be there. So thank you so much for supporting us. Just to remind you, we are a faith-driven, faith-supported ministry. We have been for over 25 years. We're in our 25th year of reporting the news and analyzing it and explaining it, particularly from a biblical worldview.
Starting point is 01:12:42 A quarter of a century. It's hard to believe God has kept this going for a quarter of a century. But apparently he likes it. Okay. He keeps investing in it. He keeps investing in it. He keeps people supporting us. And I'm very, very grateful, very honored, and very humbled.

That's what it's about, miracle faith. Folks, you're going to need miracle faith to get through what's coming. Amen. Okay. We're not going to call it, you know, bullion and beans, microchurch. Okay.
Starting point is 01:14:12 This is not a prepper survivalist. This is you will need faith and you will need faith for miracles. Amen. To survive what's coming and to keep going after it has arrived. Okay. We don't know what, what to, what we have no idea what this country is going to look like in the aftermath of World War III. I have no idea.
Starting point is 01:14:35 But our job right now is to get people ready spiritually and physically so that, you know, we've got a lot of projects underway. We need your financial support. And folks, your financial giving is your way to overcome inflation. This is the way to do it. We're all struggling. Every one of us, we're all feeling the pinch of inflation. And the way that you overcome inflation is with inflation busting faith you just your faith is busting through the inflation yes all right prices are up okay i get it but faith is up get your faith higher than the inflation amen Amen. God is able. He's able to give you more than the inflation.
Starting point is 01:15:28 And you can actually be on top. You can be giving to people who are struggling. Don't you want to be in that position? Yeah. Do you need a cost of living adjustment? Then get a faith living adjustment. That's right. That's right.
Starting point is 01:15:41 I promise you God will consistently bless you. And this inflation is not going to go away this year, not going to go away next year. It's going to be here for a decade or so. We're in an inflationary cycle. So get used to it. But you don't have to live under it. You can live above it. Amen. Okay. And the way you live above it is through faith. Now, I got to go. See you. God bless you. You don't have to think the world is ending tomorrow to be realistic. Starting point is 01:17:47 it's spiritually blessing you also so today we're in romans chapter 2 we're going to uh study verses 23 through 29 however i'm going to have doc begin reading at verse 22 so it makes sense because 23 is a second part of the sentence in 22. So let's pray. Gracious Heavenly Father, we thank you in the name of Jesus Christ, your Son, our Savior. Thank you for this beautiful day, Father. Thank you for being so good to us. Father, we're asking you to be gooder to us. We want to be blessed some more today, Father, with your word.
Starting point is 01:18:32 So, Holy Spirit, please conduct this class and teach all of us the truth and the wisdom and the revelation that is in the word of God. In Jesus' name, amen. Amen. And if you have your Bibles, and you should always have your Bibles, a Bible study, please turn to Romans chapter 2. I'm reading from the King James this morning, picking up at verse 22 through the end of the chapter today. Verse 22,
Starting point is 01:19:02 Thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? Thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege? Thou that makest thy boast of the law, through breaking the law dishonorest thou God? For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as it is written, for circumcision verily profiteth, if thou keep the law. But if thou be a breaker of the law, thy circumcision is made uncircumcision. Therefore, if the uncircumcision keep the righteousness of the law, shall not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision?
Starting point is 01:19:45 And shall not uncircumcision, which is by nature, if it fulfill the law, judge thee? Who by the letter and circumcision dost thou transgress the law? Verse 28, for he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly, neither is that circumcision, which is one outwardly neither is that circumcision which is outward in the flesh verse 29 but he is a Jew which is one inwardly and circumcision is that of the heart in the spirit
Starting point is 01:20:16 and not in the letter whose praise is not of men but of God praise the Lord alright amen okay but of God. Praise the Lord. All right. Amen. Okay. Thou that makest thy boast of the law,
Starting point is 01:20:33 you who boast, you make your boast of the law. So this is picking up on the theme from yesterday. The Jews prided themselves on two things, that they possessed the law and they had knowledge of the law. And so they considered that sufficient for salvation. They were in possession of the law. The law had been given to them.
Starting point is 01:21:04 They were a chosen people and they had knowledge of the law. The law had been given to them. They were chosen people. And they had knowledge of the law. They went to synagogue every week. Every Sabbath they were instructed in the law. And that was their boast. That's what they bragged on. So their confidence. In the law was based on the belief that it made them superior to the Gentiles who lacked that relationship with God.
Starting point is 01:21:32 What Paul is teaching is that merely having the law was insufficient. That obedience was required. Then the second half of the sentence is thou that makest thy boast of the law through breaking the law dishonors your God. So instead of
Starting point is 01:21:58 glorifying God their lifestyle of disobedience dishonored the Lord. Right. Because the Gentiles saw it and made fun of them, criticized them, and said, oh, okay, they're God's chosen people. Look at the way they live. Look at the way they live. Look at the way they behave. Right.
Starting point is 01:22:33 And so Paul's saying that kind of behavior blasphemes God. Yes. So, you know, we always think of blasphemy as somebody with their mouth, a nonbeliever blaspheming God what Paul is saying is when you claim to be a child of God but your behavior is anything but being a child of God right you calls God to be blaspheme when the non-believers mock you because they also then mock God. So God takes it seriously. It's like, hey, you know, you're causing unsaved people to say ugly things about God. Yes. Now, you know,
Starting point is 01:23:33 you're going to see throughout Romans bits and parts of Paul's doctrine were based on the teachings of Jesus. When I say bits and parts, I don't mean it like that. Let me rephrase that. From time to time, he will say something that is directly referencing something Jesus taught. Yes. Without saying, Jesus said this.
Starting point is 01:24:16 For example, what he just said about your behavior can cause people to blaspheme. You go to Matthew chapter 23, verses 1 through 3. Jesus spoke to the multitude and to his disciples saying the scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat all therefore whatsoever they bid you observe that observe and do
Starting point is 01:24:39 but do not ye after their works for they say and do not. So Paul and Jesus are saying the same thing. And what Jesus was saying at that time was, the Pharisees are sitting in the seat of Moses. Okay, that is their rightful, the Sanhedrin. This is the rightful legal religious Council of
Starting point is 01:25:08 the Jews they're rightfully sitting in the seat uh and whatever they tell you to do do it but don't live like them. Yes. So the theme here is mere head knowledge of religion without heart submission and obedience. Not
Starting point is 01:25:42 only does not honor God, but it can cause unsaved people to blaspheme God. Right. So many people today, and I would say both Jews and Christians, rely on religious identity rather than faith in Christ that produces a transformed life.
Starting point is 01:26:12 James, here we go again, all right? New covenant doctrine. James 2, verse 10. For whosoever shall keep the whole law and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. Yes. So it's reiterating the doctrine that nobody can keep the law. It's impossible. Only one person did it, Jesus Christ.
Starting point is 01:26:43 And therefore, you have to be in Christ. Put all of your faith in Him because He kept the law. And if you are in Him, then you are righteous. Yes, because Christ kept the law. Doesn't mean that we have an excuse to sin
Starting point is 01:26:58 or to overtly break the law, but rather that we cannot say that we rely on the law for our salvation because we have to keep all of it, every bit of it, and we can't. We've already broken it. That's the problem. Once we become aware that we can break the law, we realize we've already broken the law.
Starting point is 01:27:23 You're right. we realize we've already broken the law. Right. And so there are a lot of people in churches today, and Doc calls them Old Testament Christians. That's really the perfect title, Old Testament Christians. Well, there is no such thing as an Old Testament Christian. Right. What are we talking about? Christians that try to constantly go back to the Old Testament and say well we have to do this it's in the Bible
Starting point is 01:27:51 well if you're going to do everything in the Old Testament wow your life's going to be radical yes and it's not going to be in a good way there's a reason it's called the old covenant it's old it's fulfilled it's not abolished fulfilled and abolished are two different things Jesus did not do away with the law he fulfilled the law jesus said the law
Starting point is 01:28:28 shall not pass away until heaven and earth passes away yes so the law is still there if you get outside of of christ you're in the law that That's right. And you're obligated to keep every jot and tittle of it. Every single line, every dot above every, you've got to do it all. You miss one small thing,
Starting point is 01:28:58 you've broken all the commandments. So why would you want to get outside of Christ? I mean, this is a a this is such a deal you mean to tell me all i have to do is be in christ and i am completely innocent of all that other stuff yeah that's it that's it it's got to be harder than that. No, that's it. Don't make it harder than it is. Don't start setting rules up based on what you think is the law, because that's what people do. We have a tendency to do that, don't we? Why? Because I think, Rick, we have an innate desire to follow the law. I think we're hardwired to seek out rules and regulations in our lives,
Starting point is 01:29:50 even if we're rebels. Even rebels have a code. So it's something in us that desires to do something to prove our worth. But what Christ does says there's nothing you can do to prove our worth. But what Christ does says there's nothing you can do to prove your worth. All have sinned and come short of the glory of God. The wages of sin is death. Every bit of it,
Starting point is 01:30:15 every effort on your part to keep the law or what you perceive to even be the law of the Sermon on the Mount, you can't do on your own. You don't have the ability. You don't have the ability. You don't have the desire. Your flesh has no desire to follow after God.
Starting point is 01:30:32 But it loves to follow rules. Yes. So, what we don't, people have trouble comprehending is if, if you violate the smallest part of the law the law says you get you're guilty of violating the worst parts the most serious crimes yes it's it's all or nothing yes all or nothing so be in Christ so you know if we talk throughout this Bible study going back to
Starting point is 01:31:12 last year hypocrisy hypocrites are actors if you call somebody a hypocrite you're saying you actor you're an actor you're pretending to be somebody you're not. So Paul is teaching here that hypocrisy is probably the leading cause of God being dishonored
Starting point is 01:31:37 among non-believers. Yes. So the Jews in the old covenant, going back to Isaiah, God told the Jews through Isaiah that they would be a light to the Gentiles. Instead, what Paul's saying is you were supposed to be a light to the Gentiles instead you've given the Gentiles a reason to mock and reject God
Starting point is 01:32:13 why does that matter? because God's plan from the beginning was to bring the Gentiles into Israel the Jews never accepted that they were like no it's us God's plan from the beginning was to bring the Gentiles into Israel. The Jews never accepted that. They were like, no, it's us. We got it all.
Starting point is 01:32:40 And so that's why their behavior didn't seem that bad to them because they didn't care about the Gentiles. But God's saying, no, the original mission, you're supposed to be a light to the gentiles right but the way you live the gentiles are mocking me not just you they're mocking me this is what uh isaiah chapter 49 verse 6 and he said it is a light thing that thou should be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob and to restore the preserved of Israel. I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth. That's right. That was the original mission.
Starting point is 01:33:27 Now you have Zionists today say that scripture right there from Isaiah, that's the justification for Zionism to take over the world. Actually, the Bible disagrees with that statement, Rick. Oh, I know, but that's what the Jews believe. Because that... Go ahead, Rick. Oh, I know, but that's what the Jews believe. Because... Go ahead, Don. Well, I was going to say, that scripture was fulfilled in Christ. The angel that appeared to Mary
Starting point is 01:33:54 said it. Said, this child that's going to be born is going to be a light to the Gentiles and the glory of thy people is real. So Jesus fulfilled that. And so for modern day Christian Zionists to say that the restoration of the state of Israel in 1948 is that fulfillment. To me, Rick, I hope I'm not being too harsh here, but to me, that's bordering on blasphemy.
Starting point is 01:34:26 It is blasphemous. It's not borderline. It is blasphemous. To ascribe to a geographic political entity the fulfillment of Christ's prophecy, it's just to me, and espoused by those who claim to be Christians. Yes. But that's why we teach this Bible study every day, Rick. It cheapens Jesus' sacrifice on the cross. Absolutely.
Starting point is 01:35:03 Absolutely. And anything that cheapens his sacrifice on the cross is blasphemous yes because what what the Zionists are saying is the modern state of Israel is more important than the sacrifice on the cross yeah the Jews will give the light to the world yes um so paul is dismantling the idea that possessing the law and being god's chosen people makes a person righteous. He's reiterating true obedience is what matters. And again, this aligns. Paul's words here align with the words of Jesus. Luke 12, verses 47, 48. And that servant which knew the Lord's will and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
Starting point is 01:36:13 But he that knew not and did not commit things worthy of stripes shall be beaten with few stripes. Those are the words of Jesus. Yes. with few stripes those are the words of jesus yes and jesus went on to say for unto whomsoever God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you as it is written as it is written Again, we go back to, I mentioned it a moment ago, Matthew 23, where Jesus condemned the Pharisees. He told his disciples, do what they tell you to do, but don't live like them. But Israel was supposed to be an example to the world. Yes.
Starting point is 01:37:29 Not the ruler of the world, but an example to the world. Deuteronomy chapter four, verses six through eight. Keep therefore and do them. I'm talking about the commandments commandments for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations which shall hear all these statutes and say surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people for what nation is there so great who hath God so nigh unto them, as the Lord our God
Starting point is 01:38:10 is in all things that we call upon him for? And what nation is there so great that has statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law which I set before you this day. So that was the word of Almighty God to the Hebrews as they entered the promised land. Keep my commandments. The Gentiles will say, surely this is
Starting point is 01:38:41 a great nation. Wise and understanding. Yes. What other nation has a God so great? Now, centuries later, Paul's saying to them, you're causing unsaved people to say bad stuff about God. What was the original plan? The original plan was to live your life according to God's standards so that the unsaved people would marvel and give God glory.
Starting point is 01:39:19 Right. So. Does God get glory from your life the chief purpose of life the chief purpose of mankind is to glorify God that is the chief purpose for your living
Starting point is 01:39:43 your purpose is to glorify God. The very first article of catechism from Westminster. It isn't to serve God. It is to glorify God. And to enjoy him forever. And enjoy him forever. That's right. You've been to catechism huh um so the disobedience of the jews turned them into a negative example
Starting point is 01:40:18 and people said i don't want any of that that's a bunch of hypocrites stay away from them because they looked at the corruption the immorality and con and they concluded that this god that the jews served was either weak or unjust because he was tolerating their sin and rebellion. That's why judgment comes.
Starting point is 01:40:54 Because God has to do a reset. Yes. Okay. You've pushed it to the limits now. I'm telling you, America is close to that reset. And few Christians in America want to hear it right now because they're in a euphoria. Yes. They're absolutely, they're high.
Starting point is 01:41:20 They're smoking Trump weed right now. Trump weed? I never said that before. I'm not criticizing President Trump. I'm criticizing the Christians for turning him into an idol. Let him be the president. Just let him be the president. let him be the president don't call him Cyrus don't deify him
Starting point is 01:41:50 just let him be the president and pray for him yes and keep in mind he's a politician and a politician is going to say things to certain segments of his support that they want to hear yes and doesn't mean that he's a supporter of him certain segments of his support that they want to hear. And
Starting point is 01:42:05 it doesn't mean that he's a supporter of them. It just means that he knows the right things to say. So, in this verse, Paul said, as it is written. Well, where is it written?
Starting point is 01:42:22 What's he talking about? Because Paul is saying this as though all the Jews in Rome know what he's talking about. As it is written. Right. He's referring to Isaiah 52, verse 5. Yes. And it says, now therefore, what have I here,
Starting point is 01:42:47 saith the Lord, that my people is taken away for not, they that rule over them, make them to how, saith the Lord, and my name continually every day is blasphemed, that's what he was talking about. And Paul says, as it is written. Written where?
Starting point is 01:43:10 In the scriptures. Prophet Isaiah. Isaiah said, because of the way you Jews are living, every day the Lord's name is blasphemed. Do you think the Lord's name is blasphemed in Gaza and the West Bank? Do you think the Palestinians are saying, these people over here, they say that they're God's chosen people? They just killed our children see it's not the way to lead people to god and of course the palestinians look at the american christian zionists and go and they're over there cheering for them yeah think about that
Starting point is 01:44:06 what what god do they serve yeah what what god do they serve that says it's okay to blow babies up i'll tell you the biggest harvest field right now outside of america the biggest harvest field is going to be the palestinian people you want to be a missionary all right palestinian millions most of them right now are homeless there are orphanages that need to be built there's so many things that need to be done when this ugly war is over you know how many children are so
Starting point is 01:45:05 Paul is directing this he's he's taking Isaiah and he's saying this is speaking of your hypocrisy right he's saying your ancestors dishonored God
Starting point is 01:45:24 and you're still doing it today. Nothing's changed. And we need to hear it as Christians that Christian hypocrisy leads to God's name being blasphemed. Yes. Just look at the scandals we've seen in the past year. Sad. You know, very sad. And they're ongoing so the Jews had the law yet they failed to live by it
Starting point is 01:46:16 and that made them more accountable now take that principle we Christians have more revelation than the Jews we have the New Covenant they only had the Old Covenant we have more revelation of God than the Jews ever had yes so guess what we are more accountable to to god than the jews were now look at what god's saying to them he's saying with your limited knowledge you blaspheme me well what about us look at the knowledge that american not just america look at the knowledge that modern christians have of god
Starting point is 01:47:14 what what excuse do we have to be hypocrites most homes have two three three, four Bibles in it. I've lost count how many Bibles I have. Different translations and so forth. Study Bibles. Yeah, they're everywhere. So we will be held more accountable than the Jews. We have more light.
Starting point is 01:47:57 So the Jews had the law, but they failed to live by it, and that made them more accountable. Christians have the gospel. Yeah, go ahead, Don. But Christians going to say, but Christians have the gospel, and we're more accountable than the Jews and the law. Exactly. Why? Because it's a newer covenant, a higher covenant, a better covenant, the Bible says. If it's a better covenant, then it's a higher priority covenant. covenant so does your life radiate Christ is there a reflection see the are you a moon to the Sun the
Starting point is 01:48:36 the moon does not generate its own light it reflects the light of the Sun right okay s-u-n but are you reflecting the light of the s-o-n are people seeing christ in you or are they seeing religion um i've gotten to the place doc especially this since the beginning of this year i guess i late last year but i don't want to post anything online anymore i don't want to post anything you know about my views about anything because You know, about my views about anything. Because. Unbelief, unsaved people know I'm a Christian and they read what I said about, you know, a political issue. And they're like.
Starting point is 01:49:38 If it offends them because of a political view, I'm thinking, what have I done for the gospel? Right. If I'm going to offend people, let it be because I'm thinking what have I done for the gospel? Right. If I'm going to offend people, let it be because I'm presenting the word. Not because I'm promoting something or criticizing something. I don't even want to say anything anymore.
Starting point is 01:50:03 I don't want to give anybody reason not to come to Christ um so again our assignment our not assignment our duty is to glorify God and you glorify God through obedience to God, consistent obedience and genuine faith. Jesus said, let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father, which is in heaven. Your good works should cause non-believers to say good things about God. Yes.
Starting point is 01:50:57 You know, it's interesting that later on in the epistles, where Paul is writing to Timothy and other passages too, where it talks about qualifications for leadership, for like bishops and elders. And isn't it interesting, Rick, that one of those qualifications is that you have a good reputation among unbelievers. And, you know, I've known people that that wasn't a priority in their life you know where they just didn't care uh what uh unbelievers thought but the bible tells you you better think about if you want to be a leader if you want to be a pastor or an elder a bishop then you really need to consider how does the world look at you? Do they look at you as just a thorn or someone griping all the time or anything like that? Or
Starting point is 01:51:53 do they look at you and say, you know, there's something on that guy, there's something on that gal that I want. I'm not ready for it yet, but maybe one day I'll come and get it. That's the kind of reputation that we should be having out there, a reputation of goodness, a reputation of high moral character, and understanding that people are watching how we walk and how we talk. Sometimes we get closed in on our own little loop of friends, Christians, and we forget that there's unbelievers that are looking in, like the waitress at the restaurant or the guy behind the counter at the convenience store or whatever it might be. We sometimes forget.
Starting point is 01:52:46 That they are looking at us. Yes. Make it a point. To compliment people. A waiter. A waitress. A chef. A cook.
Starting point is 01:52:58 Whatever. Whoever you meet. Look at people. And try to think of a compliment and say it to them you know just say something nice to them you know i i don't do it as often as i should but i try to do that i just try to i'll watch if i'm you know i'm in a, I'm waiting in line and I'll be watching a employee and I'll think, what can I say to this person? It just makes their day, makes them smile. It gives them a good feeling about themselves and then they also look forward to you coming
Starting point is 01:53:41 back in. Right. Because you're always going to say something good um in the little town where I grew up there there was a pastor um you know and this was before I was saved and doc he he built his church he got the highest hill in the town i mean the highest hill he bought that hill he bought it himself and built the church there and called it mount calvary praise god all right already i mean when you went through that town when you got to that big hill, the cross
Starting point is 01:54:26 was there. The church and the cross. He had the three crosses on the hill. And it was also the best sled riding hill in town. Yes. And you know what? In the wintertime, he opened up. We all went to that church to sled ride. Right. Right.
Starting point is 01:54:45 Everybody. Now, today, the deacons would be out there saying, get off the property. Yeah. This isn't a sledding hill. Right. Well, we got insurance problems here. You're going to have to sign a waiver. Yes.
Starting point is 01:55:03 What if you go down that hill and break an arm okay no that old pastor was out there laughing and enjoying what seeing the whole all the teenagers and kids and young adults on his church property he loved it yes he loved it because he got him to the church okay he was the type of person what you know what i remember about him to this day his uh humor his joy his happiness corny jokes just he'd always have a corny joke, but he'd laugh because he was funny. Never saw him sad. Never saw him depressed. Never saw him angry. He'd go into the hospital, and after he visited the people
Starting point is 01:55:56 from his church, he'd just go down the aisles and just walk in the rooms. People he didn't know and say, hey, I'm a pastor. I just wanted to know is can i pray for you he never got thrown out of a room people were just delighted to see that's the way we should be do we have this fragrance are we are we is it aroma is there a fragrance of our life, from our life? Yes. And I'll give you a modern example of the opposite on this, Rick.
Starting point is 01:56:33 You know, you listen to different podcasts and, you know, different shows that are out there and everything. The trend among some Christian podcasts is to use vulgar words to cuss and everything. That's the hip thing to do, you know, and they'll say, well, what we're trying to do is we're trying to relate to folks outside the church, because that's the way they speak. I would counter, no, we should be the opposite of that. We should not lower ourselves to the language of, you know, just common cursing, but rather raise the conversation as believers. And, you know, a lot of people excuse, like, the language of Donald Trump and other political leaders out there and everything like that and just say, oh, you know, it's not that big a deal. It is a big deal because it reflects the heart.
Starting point is 01:57:36 It reflects what's going on inside. That's right. And what you're saying, if you deliberately lower the standards of your language, you're saying, hey, Satan has won. Yeah. I mean, how far this has gone. When I was young, saying certain words in public could get you arrested. There were laws against saying certain words in public.
Starting point is 01:58:03 That's true. Yes. There were laws against profanity disorderly conduct yes you nobody would say certain words in front of children but today it's it's. So if Christians did lower their standard, you're saying Satan won. We give up. We're going to talk like the unsaved. All right, verse 25. For circumcision verily profiteth, if thou keep the law.
Starting point is 01:58:41 But if thou be a breaker of the law, thy circumcision is made uncircumcision. Okay, so for circumcision profits you very much. If you keep the law. Well, circumcision was a sign of the covenant between God and Abraham. This goes back to genesis 17 god said this is my covenant which you shall keep between me and you and thy seed after the every man child after you among you shall be circumcised and if and he shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin and it shall be a token of the covenant
Starting point is 01:59:25 between me and you however the value of the circumcision was directly tied to obedience of the law yes the purpose of circumcision was to say I'm going to keep the law
Starting point is 01:59:46 yes but the Jews eventually turned it into the circumcision is the assurance that you're righteous so they're back to works again yes
Starting point is 02:00:04 now notice that one of the commentaries say notice that Paul doesn't say it justifies it profits but it doesn't justify in other words it wasn't circumcision that ever justified ever
Starting point is 02:00:21 at any point in time did circumcision justify none but it profits only if you by faith keep the law that's right so for the church
Starting point is 02:00:39 church attendance participation in religious rituals, even baptism, are only valuable if they reflect a heart that's been transformed by the Holy Spirit. a baptized person who is in rebellion is no different than an unbaptized sinner all they are is a wet sinner
Starting point is 02:01:17 yes and a lot of churches have large congregations of wet sinners they got baptized but they never there was never a transformation in their life Paul said but if you be a breaker of the law your circumcision is made uncircumcision in other words you've just undone it you be a breaker of the law, your circumcision is made uncircumcision.
Starting point is 02:01:46 In other words, you've just undone it. If you're disobedient, you're back to being uncircumcised. There was no point in doing it. Paul's way of saying is, what good? What good is the circumcision if you don't
Starting point is 02:02:04 obey? If you don't obey God? Why did you do this? Amos chapter 9 verse 7 said, Are you not children of the Ethiopians unto me, O children of Israel? Saith the Lord, Have not I brought up Israel out of the land of Egypt? What is that? Why would God say that to them? Why did God say to the Jews, are you not as the children of the Ethiopians?
Starting point is 02:02:47 Have I not brought up Israel out of the land of Egypt because God is equating disobedient Israel with paganism so you can do different so people today who confess to be Christians but live in habitual sin are no different than non believing people I personally have problems with a number of modern-day podcasters who are claiming to be Christian podcasters. And I know for a fact that, you know, they're committing sexual sin. They've got girlfriends. They've got mistresses.
Starting point is 02:03:43 They're drinking. Their lifestyle is is you know their foul mouth and yet they're going in front of a camera saying i'm a christian podcaster no you're causing god to be blasphemed that's right and can i tell you some you shouldn't watch for one minute these people because you're submitting yourself you're putting yourself under them I'm not going to call out names there's no point in doing it but just look at the fruit and I get people to get so upset with me Rick so-and-so is a Christian. You don't have the right.
Starting point is 02:04:28 I don't see any fruit. I hear vulgar language. I hear rumors and stories about pretty decadent lifestyles. I hear them talk about doctrines that aren't biblical. How can I say a person's a Christian? So the main thing here is that the Jews believe that their circumcision made them righteous. Okay. That's the main thing in this verse verse 26
Starting point is 02:05:07 how are we doing on time I want to get to 29 therefore if uncircumcision keeps this righteousness of the law shall not his uncircumcision be counted for circumcision this is why
Starting point is 02:05:23 Romans was never our most exciting book to read it's to me it's like if the first party of the second part of the contract were in the third party I'm like what? it's a very legal letter
Starting point is 02:05:42 you got it, yes it's written at a higher level yeah, it's a very legal letter. You got it. Yes. It's written at a higher level. Yeah, it's a very legal letter. And I'm just telling you, overall, my whole life as a Christian, Romans was always a tough one for me to read.
Starting point is 02:06:01 You know, to me, it was kind of like, hey, you want to read the civil code of your state? Well, some people like that though. Okay. So I know that, you know,
Starting point is 02:06:10 we've got a guy in the office that likes that. And so, yeah. So, but there, there's times where it's necessary to, to know the legal things that are going on. And this is a perfect example of that because now here in verse 26,
Starting point is 02:06:26 Paul's making the case, listen, if a Gentile who is not circumcised, if a Gentile, uncircumcised Gentile, keeps the law, if he keeps the law, he's justified by the law without circumcision.
Starting point is 02:06:43 So Paul's making the case here and saying, look, it's not circumcision. So Paul is making the case here and saying, look, it's not circumcision that saves you, justifies you, or even sets you apart. It's faith in the revealed word of God and obeying God. Even before Abraham was circumcised, the Bible says that his faith was counted to him for righteousness.
Starting point is 02:07:09 This is pre-circumcision. He was circumcised, Genesis chapter 17. But Abraham was operating in faith prior to circumcision. So it's not the circumcision that saved. The circumcision for abraham and his seed was to say we're going to obey the covenant this is our sign this is our promise that we will obey the covenant but the promise doesn't save maybe i was too wordy on that maybe Paul's a simpler way of saying it
Starting point is 02:07:45 no that's excellent doc so in essence Paul's not saying hey we got Gentiles out here who are perfectly keeping the law that's not what he's saying this is a hypothetical scenario
Starting point is 02:07:59 Paul's saying if we had a Gentile an uncircumcised Gentile who perfectly kept the law God would accept him as righteous, even though he's not circumcised. And for you, you are circumcised, but you don't keep the law and God counts you as uncircumcised. You got it. That's what was causing their brains to flip inside their head because their their confidence was in the act of circumcision not in the attitude of the heart in keeping the covenant the circumcision was a sign that you keep the covenant
Starting point is 02:08:46 so they didn't they didn't feel it that way. They just say, I got circumcised. I'm in. I got in. I did what I was told to do. And Paul's saying, no, it doesn't work that way. You see, and, you know, God was was telling he was telling the hebrews all the way back to deuteronomy when they came into the promised land deuteronomy 10 verse 16
Starting point is 02:09:17 circumcised therefore the foreskin of your heart yes this is not like they they never heard this before Samuel to obey is better than sacrifice yes so the Jews had heard this they heard it at the very beginning when they entered into in the Canaan land. Yes, the men will be circumcised, but circumcise the foreskin of your heart. And that's what Jesus has come to do. So, an obedient Gentile will be considered as if he were circumcised in God's eyes.
Starting point is 02:10:07 Right. Physical circumcision without obedience is useless. Just like baptism without faith and obedience is useless. Just because somebody's baptized does not mean that they were saved. Now, baptism is essential, but faith comes first. Faith and baptism.
Starting point is 02:10:38 Baptism is the evidence that you have faith in christ um we see cornelius in the book of acts a gentile who feared god gave alms to the poor prayed to god regularly he was uncircumcised but he was accepted by god before peter baptized him yes that's a great example yeah i went i want to get i want to get to 29 uh because because tomorrow we'll start chapter 2, no, chapter 3. Verse 27, And shall not uncircumcision, which is by nature, if it fulfill the law, judge thee,
Starting point is 02:11:33 who by the letter and circumcision thus transgress the law. Whew. So Paul is continuing his argument against relying on external religious rituals while ignoring true obedience. that an uncircumcised Gentile who obeys God will judge and condemn the circumcised Jew who breaks the law. Yes. Wow. Shall not uncircumcision, which is by nature, judge thee? Probably it would help maybe a different translation on that
Starting point is 02:12:26 Christian Standard Bible says it this way a man who is physically uncircumcised but who keeps the law will judge you who are a lawbreaker in spite of having the letter of the law and circumcision
Starting point is 02:12:42 yes that's probably why Romans is always difficult having the letter of the law and circumcision. Yes. That's probably why Romans is always difficult, because you read it in the King James. It's very complicated in the King James. So what did Jesus say? Matthew 12. The men of Nineveh.
Starting point is 02:13:08 The men of Nineveh will rise in judgment with this generation and shall condemn it because they repented at the preaching of Jonah. Oh, that's good. The holy greater than Jonah is here. The queen of the south shall rise up in judgment with this generation and shall condemn it. For she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon. And behold, a greater than Solomon is here. Ooh, that's good.
Starting point is 02:13:36 Yes. So Jesus, Paul got this from Jesus he just didn't make this up he is teaching what Jesus said he's just saying it in different words so the letter is the written law of Moses
Starting point is 02:14:02 circumcision is the sign of the covenant. The law and the circumcision should lead to obedience. But for many of the Jews, it led them to deceive themselves into thinking that they were righteous in god's eyes simply because they had the sign of the covenant so paul is making this very radical point gentiles who follow god's law are better than a circumcised Jew who disobeys Jesus knows John the Baptist said he turned to the Jews and said do not say we have Abraham as our father In verse 28, for he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly, neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh. Oh, why can't the Christian Zionists read this? It must not be in their Bibles, Rick.
Starting point is 02:15:22 Honestly, what is so hard about this this should settle the the question immediately but it doesn't does it no a true jew in god's eyes is not somebody born into the jewish race with jewish dna or somebody who does jewish rituals a true jew is somebody who obeys god in faith faith in his son you and i are jews the the people that call themselves jews are now the Gentiles. It's just that simple. The Jews who believe in Jesus. Are still. God's chosen people.
Starting point is 02:16:15 We Gentiles. Who believe in Jesus. Were grafted in. We were grafted in. To Israel. The Jews that believe in Jesus didn't have to be grafted into Israel. They were already there. The Gentiles that believe in Jesus had to be grafted in.
Starting point is 02:16:38 But the Jews who reject Jesus got ungrafted. Yes. They got ejected from Israel. But they can come back in. And they can come in at the head of the line. They can get their passport stamped first. But you got to get the passport signed in the blood of Jesus.
Starting point is 02:17:03 And that's why they won't come in so true circumcision is not a physical mark on the body it's a mark on the heart it says you you are in submission God, that you are obedient to God. But Jews rely on their ethnic heritage, their possession of the law, the Torah, circumcision. And Paul's saying none of that, none of that matters. But on the same case, you have Christians who believe that
Starting point is 02:17:49 because they belong to a certain church, a certain denomination, because they do certain things, that they are saved. Right. I'm going to skip down here quickly. I've got a lot lot of notes but i want to get to the last one verse 29 but he's a jew which is one inwardly and circumcision is that of the heart in the spirit and not in the letter whose praise is not of men but of God. So Paul concludes his argument. This is the end of chapter two.
Starting point is 02:18:29 He's wrapping up his argument about true Jewish identity, saying that the real circumcision is in the heart, not the physical flesh. And that he's contrasting outward religious observances with an inner transformation. And he says, if the inner transformation is there, then that meets God's approval.
Starting point is 02:18:56 It's not human praise. It doesn't matter. It only matters what is important to God. And God is looking for a transformed heart and the only way a heart can be transformed is to have the Holy Spirit and the only way you can have the Holy Spirit is to be born again the only way to be born again is to repent and to believe in the name of Jesus that's the way you become a Jew. Boy, there, Doc,
Starting point is 02:19:28 that would mess them up when we start having an altar call. We want you to become a Jew. Oh, their mind would be doing somersaults. I'm just, I don't remember what to do. We can't be anti-Semitic. We're Jews.
Starting point is 02:19:46 I've read it in the Bible. Okay. I got a lot more, but we're late. And tomorrow we will start with Chapter 3. And tomorrow's Thursday, isn't it? Yes. And then Friday is Faith Friday. Yes.
Starting point is 02:20:09 We appreciate you being here with us. We had over 350 people joining us for our Bible study today. I'm always humbled, Rick, with the number of people that choose to join us for this Bible study live every day.
Starting point is 02:20:26 And, you know, I think back, I pastored mainly smaller churches in Missouri and Kansas in my younger years. And the biggest church I ever pastored was 125 people. And yet every day I'm here and nearly 400 people show up for a Bible study. In live, real time. But when we add later in the day, it gets into the thousands. So we appreciate
Starting point is 02:20:56 you being here. We appreciate you being willing to listen and interact with others. There's something going on or Doc and I are going on and on and on. You're like, OK, I got to go. I get that. I understand that. But it's amazing that overall 350 people hang in there for one hour. Yes. Okay. If you guys were, if I were looking up and seeing the count dropping, 350, 300, 250, 200, I'd be going, oh, I'm boring these people. They went out. But I look up and go, they're all here.
Starting point is 02:22:04 Yes. They're hanging in there there they're eating us up they want more yes and the trend in the new year is it's slowly increasing that's that's what's encouraging to me and so very encouraging you encourage us yes so i'd be i'd be uh demoralized if people were dropping out in the class i would just be demoralized but you guys don't and that that just energizes me praise god it's forcing me to study things like romans it's not so bad is it rick are you you're getting some good stuff out of it aren't you i am i'm getting it but it's it's it's not an easy one for me. I'm just being honest. I want to talk about miracles.
Starting point is 02:22:50 I want to talk about parables. I want to talk about angels. I want to talk about, that's the stuff I like to talk about. Well, it's in there, too. We'll get to it in Romans. I know. Talking about a knife cutting skin off. That's not really how it sounds.
Starting point is 02:23:05 But, hey, I'm just joking. get to it in Romans. I know. Talking about a knife cutting skin off. That's not really how it sounds like. But, hey, I'm just joking.
