I'm Rick Wallace. Today is Wednesday, October 18, 2023. Who bombed the Baptist Hospital in Gaza City? Palestinians say the Israeli Defense Force fired a rocket from a fighter jet. Benjamin Netanyahu says Hamas fired a rocket that went out of control and struck the hospital. Both sides are accusing each other. But in the end, 500 people inside the hospital were killed by whoever was responsible for the horrendous calamity. President Joe Biden flew to Israel and met with Benjamin Netanyahu early today. Let's start with this report from Bloomberg News. Dr. Burkhardt is here. Yes, so President Biden is in Israel right now, and in the latest conversation earlier today that he was having

with Benjamin Netanyahu, he suggested that Israel was not behind the hospital blast. In fact, says the Pentagon showed him blast evidence. We have this from Bloomberg. U.S. President Joe Biden suggested that Israel wasn't responsible for the deadly blast at a Gaza City hospital that killed hundreds and threatened to plunge the region into chaos. He said that based on what I've seen, that appears as though it was done by, he said, Rick, the other team. And that was President Biden speaking to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu shortly after landing in Tel Aviv.

Now, the attack complicated U.S. efforts to contain the conflict. Israel and Hamas designated a terrorist group by the U.S. and Europe have both traded blames for the attack. We have this clip from Fox News where President Biden suggests that maybe the other team did it. But the point is this, that I was deeply saddened and outraged by the explosion at the hospital in Gaza yesterday.

And based on what I've seen, it appears as though it was done by the explosion at the hospital in Gaza yesterday. I'm surprised, Doc, that Mr. Biden didn't tell a story again about when his kitchen caught on fire. Oh, he did start rambling off about memories in the past and everything in that whole interchange with Benjamin Netanyahu. But yes, about this particular item, though, you're right. It's surprising he didn't put some personal homily in with that. Now, Mr. Biden said that the Defense Department is the one that showed him the

data that Israel was not responsible for the hospital blast in Gaza. This is from Times of Israel. In an apparent response to a shouted question about the basis for his endorsement of Israel's version of last night's deadly hospital blast in Gaza City, U.S. President Joe Biden says, the data I was shown by my Defense Department. So Mr. Biden speaking after he met with Israeli first responders to Hamas's October 7th terror onslaught in southern Israel, appeared to be making clear that the U.S. has independent evidence that Israel was not to blame for the hospital bust. And making public statements with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu earlier, Biden had said, based on what I've seen,

it appears it was done by the other team and not you. At the same time, he added, there's a lot of people out there who are not sure. So we've got to overcome some things. Israel says they've presented a range of evidence showing a faulty Islamic Jihad missile hit the hospital parking lot, including a recording of Hamas officials acknowledging the fact, contradicting Hamas claims that an Israeli airstrike was to blame. So this is another clip a little bit later on after his meeting with Israeli first responders, where he was asked by reporters about the data from the Defense Department. I was shown by my defense. Benjamin Netanyahu said a few minutes ago that President Biden promised, his words, a massive aid package to Israel. He described it as massive. The other thing is that Mr. Netanyahu is allowing a certain amount of Egyptian humanitarian aid to enter into Gaza. And he said he's doing it because he was pressured by Joe Biden to do it. Not because it was the right thing to do.

No, but because he got a massive aid package. That's why. The other thing, Doc, this is interesting. The IDF commander said that they have called up, I don't know if it was 200 or 300 reservists to work in the public relations department to counter the negative publicity about this hospital bombing. The negative publicity? Yes. hundreds of reservists to work in the propaganda office because they know that they have a major worldwide PR disaster.

The Palestinians are saying that an American-built F-16 fired an American-built missile into the hospital. A JDAM is what they're claiming. Yes, that's what they're saying. At this point, we don't have the resources to examine both sides' claims. But what we can show you is the videos that have come out and statements. Leading up to the hospital bombing itself. Yes.

So let's take a look at, by the way, Mr. Biden called it an Arab hospital. He couldn't call it a Baptist hospital. It was a Christian Baptist church hospital. Yes. And he says, I'm outraged and deeply saddened by the explosion at the Al-Ali Arab Hospital in Gaza. Now, if he had used the word Baptist, or if I understand right, the Anglicans are running the hospital, and have been for a couple of years, but everyone knows it as the Baptist Hospital. I thought it was the Hamas Terrace Hospital.

Well, that's depending on what side you're on. it as the Baptist Hospital. I thought it was the Hamas Terrorist Hospital. So it's a Christian hospital paid for by, most likely, American Baptists, caring for the people in Gaza, and Mr. Biden can't say that. He can't acknowledge it. He just has to call it an Arab

hospital. And that's what he did. And bombed by the other team. The other team. He couldn't even say the name of the terrorist group. Well, I want to go back because I've carefully followed the news ever since this war broke out. And we'll go back to October 14, just days ago. Israel gives hospitals in Gaza hours to evacuate. This was last week.

Yeah, it's a Saturday. Saturday. Two hours to evacuate all the patients. The Baptist Hospital was one of the hospitals ordered to evacuate in two hours. Now, why would they need to evacuate? Why would they need to evacuate, Rick? Because Israel was going to strike them. That's why.

And they didn't want the publicity of mangled children's bodies all over the world. But they did order the hospital to evacuate within two hours. That's Saturday. And the world was shocked. What kind of country tells a hospital you have two hours to remove every patient? There was another hospital, which was the only cancer hospital in Gaza. Yes. And they were ordered to evacuate in two hours. How do you evacuate cancer patients?

And where do you take them? You've got the entire Gaza Strip locked down. No water, no electricity, no food. You're bombing the cities. And you bombed the only exit into Egypt. And you're telling the doctors and nurses clear the hospital out why because you plan to bomb the hospitals that's why yes let's be honest about it israel planned to bomb the hospitals and so by tuesday something had happened they bombed the hospital right because the doctors

said we can't they they talk there was you know we could have pulled up the video. The doctors and nurses held a press conference Saturday and said, this is outrageous. We can't evacuate. There's no place to go. We don't have the facilities. Israel was blowing up the ambulances. Yes. They were shooting the ambulance drivers.

And you want the doctors and nurses to do what? Push the stretchers down the street while you're bombing the streets? I mean, the Israelis are barbarians. They are barbarians. They'll kill anybody they have to kill for the sake of zionism and the u.s is going right along with it so where the blood is on our hands of course it is and what if it was an american-built f-16 and an american-built missile then the u.s is involved in a war crime, a crime against humanity, 500 people, many of them children, blown to pieces in a hospital.

Now, this hospital bombing has really had repercussions beyond even the immediate war situation. But even leading up to that, the day before the bombing of the hospital, Israel had fired rockets at the hospital. At that very hospital. Yes. This is from The Wire, number 14 for control. Days before catastrophic bombing of Gaza hospital. There you see the doctors making their press conference. Israel had fired rocket and had ordered its evacuation.

So this is multiple sources telling us that, you know, they were ordered to evacuate. The Al-Ali Baptist Hospital, look, Baptist Hospital, which was bombed on Tuesday night, is one of the 22 hospitals in northern Gaza which were ordered by the Israeli military to evacuate their patients and staff within 24 hours or be responsible for the consequences. So the Israeli evacuation order was issued late on October the 12th. So that's if you want to do your timeline there. And drew swift condemnation from the World Health Organization and other UN agencies. So the first warning came on Thursday the 12th. There was an official warning on October the 14th. And then the 16th is when the bombing occurred. So as the United Nations Agency responsible for public health, the World Health Organization strongly condemns

Israel's repeated orders for the evacuation of 22 hospitals treating more than 2,000 patients in northern Gaza. The forced evacuation of parents and health workers will further worsen the current humanitarian and public health catastrophe. And so, now some would say, especially if you were a Zionist or especially a Christian Zionist, you know, Israel showed compassion by, you know, telling the people to get out of there because they're going to blow up a Hamas terrorist site. Yes, that's the argument. Right.

That Hamas was operating from the hospitals. And I will show you some tweets that Israelis put out on that very thing. I read them over the weekend. Yes. I read – when the hospital was blown up, I saw Zionists and Christian Zionists tweeting on X Twitter saying, that's what happens when you allow terrorists to operate inside hospitals. Just so brutal. So on Saturday and Sunday, the Zionists were admitting they blew up the hospital.

They were admitting it. And their justification was Hamas was hiding. Hamas fighters were hiding in the hospital. Then when the global anger erupted, the Israeli propaganda machine went into action. And had to reel all that back in. And said, hey, it was Hamas that blew it up. Or it was an accidental rocket that went off. Hamas didn't purposely, it wasn't really their fault.

A rocket accidentally hit the hospital and blew it up. And then they said, this was one earlier today. Or maybe it was last night. It landed in the parking lot. Yes. It didn't. Oh, that was the other story. That's it, Doc. The last night,

the Israelis were putting out the story. Hamas is lying. The Palestinians are lying. The hospital wasn't blown up. It didn't burn down. There weren't 500 people killed. The rocket landed in the parking lot. This is in spite of the fact that

at the Biden-Netanyahu press conference, they both admitted that the hospital had been blown up. But yesterday, the propaganda line was, it landed in the parking lot. See, they're trying to find the story that will fly. Yes. This is what I see after 25 years. I see when something like this happens, multiple stories come out until they find the one that sticks. Yes.

And then when the one that shows some stickiness, they go with that one. They go, that's it. There it is. People are buying this story. People weren't buying the parking lot story. They showed videos of cars in the parking lot saying, look, it's just cars that burned. There's no people in these cars. They don't show you the hospital, do they?

No. But that story didn't work. And the implication was, if it was an Israeli rocket, it only hit the parking lot.
