I'm Doc Burkhardt. This is True News for Thursday, August 15th, 2024.

Rick will be joining us shortly. Let's begin our analysis and commentary of today's news by looking at this report from Sky News in London. So you see the headline there. British Challenger II tanks have been used inside Russia by Ukrainian troops. That's being reported by Sky News. Ukrainian troops have used British Challenger II tanks in their offensive inside Russia. It is believed to be the first time that British tanks operated by Ukrainian soldiers have been used in combat on Russian territory. Now, from that article, we have this. The Ministry of Defense in London declined to comment on operational detail, but did tell Sky News there has been no change in policy.

Ukraine's armed forces did not offer a comment as well. Now, Ukraine's armed forces, as we said, did not offer a comment, but Ukraine's powerful 82nd Air Assault Brigade is the unit of the Ukrainian armed forces that has been operating the British main battle tanks since last year. Elements of the brigade are confirmed to be taking part in the Kirk offensive. We also have this article from the Daily Mail here. This is from yesterday. Ukraine gets the green light to fire British weapons in Russia, the Ministry of Defense says, but Kiev is barred from blasting Putin's forces with storm shadow missiles. So let's jump right into that article here.

Ukraine's forces can use British weapons during their surprise advance into Russia, but with the exception of the long-range storm shadow missiles that President Vladimir Zelensky has been lobbying Western allies for. Now, if we can go quotes on the wide screen there for just a moment here, giving you an opportunity to see these quotes. The UK has given armored vehicles, anti-tank missiles, and artillery during the two and a half years of the conflict to Kiev, and the Ministry of Defense confirmed that Ukraine has a clear right of self-defense against Russia's illegal attacks, and that does not preclude operations inside Russia.

President Zelensky had wanted to additionally use storm shadows to strike deep inside Russia so that he could put an end to Vladimir Putin's rule, but the U.K. has so far denied this. Former Defense Secretary Sir Ben Wallace told The Times that he gave permission for Ukraine to strike inside Russia with whatever weapons they were supplied with, except for the storm shadow. Now, Ukraine wants to use them to strike airfields and logistics hubs far beyond the front line that Moscow is using to reinforce its position in Kursk. Hamish D. Bretton-Gordon, a former British tank commander, told The Telegraph that storm shadow missiles would be able to strike railheads and key roads coming into Kursk, plus any airfields within 100 miles. He said Putin is rattled, and this would

show the West is fully committed to Ukraine, which has not been apparent to this point. But the position on how to use the storm shadow missiles is not just the U.K. government's to decide, as since the missile is manufactured with France, they also have a say on condition. It ends on Tuesday. You have to have a different mindset about elections. Election Day is now the end of the election. Okay? So, anyhow, I've been out today. So what's happening here, Doc? Your first two articles, Sky News, British tanks used inside Russia. Yes.

Inside of Russia. Inside Russia. This is the first time since World War II that foreign tanks have entered Russian territory. It's just incomprehensible, isn't it? It is. And so the Russians, you know, they've got to be going through this, just a horrendous mental, emotional shock that something that they, you know, a trauma from the 1940s has just happened again. Foreign tanks have entered into Russian territory.

Russian territory proper. Yes. So this is significant. And then the second story, Daily Mail, which is saying that the British government has given the green light. Yeah, you can use storm shadow missiles within reason inside the territory. Right. Inside Russia. But next week, where will it be?

Doc, we're headed towards Moscow. That's where they're going. The West is moving towards Moscow to capture the capital city, to kill Putin, to overthrow the Russian government. That's where they're going. And if you think they would never do this, yes, they would. That's the end game. And the fact that they've made it this far inside Russia, and the Russians haven't been able to get rid of them yet,

there's fierce fighting going on. But Russia has not repelled the invasion. Russian military... You have to ask the question, why? Why haven't they? Is there a reluctance on Russia's part? Or do they not have the manpower, the means to do it?

I don't know. I don't understand. Does it mean that they have to withdraw their army out of Ukraine to go fight inside Russia? Are they that low on manpower? I will reiterate what I said yesterday. Putin has got to be under immense pressure to use tactical nukes.

Well, we're already seeing reports out of that region, out of the Kursk region, where people are asking that question, where civilians are asking a question, where is Vladimir Putin on this? What's happening here? So the questioning of Putin has begun. It is. And it appears that he has cold feet. I mean, from my perspective, just watching this happen, that he hasn't come out and said, OK, you've crossed a red line. So now I do what I have to do. I mean, if he doesn't use nukes put NATO in its place, then we're going to see the fall of Russia. That's just hard for me to comprehend, especially with everything that's led up to this point so far. Obviously, Russia has the means. I mean, unless I'm missing something here,

they have the material support. They have the supply support. The only thing that's left is reluctance. That's what's holding them back, which, again, it appears that Vladimir Putin has cold feet that he is unwilling to do, make the decisions that's going to result in the deaths of hundreds of thousands, maybe millions of people. And he doesn't want to do it. The only other explanation I have for it is God is holding it up. I mean, God may be intervening in this to prevent the deaths of millions of people. You know, that's the only other option I have left on the table for me. Or Putin is saying, I've got to hold out until Trump gets in power and I have somebody I can reason with. But he's going to be in such a weakened position by then. Who knows how much territory the West is going to control. But what I said yesterday, if the Russian military cannot stop an invasion of the Ukrainian army, they cannot stop an invasion of NATO.

Yes, that's what you need to draw out of this. It's out in the open now. NATO can take Russia. Doc, it's out in the open. There's nothing to debate. Right. NATO can take russia doc it's out in the open there's nothing to debate right if a nato can take russia if a first world power which russia presumably is cannot take on a second world power ukraine then they cannot hold back a nato invasion and you know, you quoted somewhere here in this article when I walked in. This was Mr. de Breton Gordon. Yes.

He said, Putin is rattled, and this would show the West is fully committed to Ukraine, which has not been apparent here too. So he's absolutely right that this is showing that the West is now ready to do whatever it must do to win the war. And for the West, winning the war is not getting Russian troops out of Ukraine. Winning the war is taking Putin out of the Kremlin. Right. That's the end game here. And to balkanize Russia. That's right. It's hard for me to believe it's going to happen, that we're going to see it happen. The danger that we have is that

the Russian deep state removes Putin and installs somebody that will fight the West. Because Putin is, he's really looking weak. The strong man of Russia is

turning out not to be that strong. And eventually, somebody inside the Russian deep state is going to say, either we move him out of the Kremlin or Russia collapses. I don't know what his plan is. Unless, there is another possibility, Doc. A rope-a-dope? Yes. There's the other possibility that Putin's already made the decision

and the Russian deep state knows what it is. And they've already decided we're going to have to do something extreme. That's the other option. And none of these options are good for us. None of them is good for the world. Because we're pushing Putin to do something extreme. We're doing it.

We're forcing him, the West. So I say we. The West is forcing him to do something extreme. The war didn't have to start in the first place. It could have ended in the spring of 22. With signed papers on the table. And it's only been because of the Western ruling class that we've gone this far. And now we're pushing Putin to the brink where either he will do something extreme

or the deep state, the ruling class of he will do something extreme or the deep state, the ruling class of Russia will do something extreme, which is remove him and put somebody in that will give the order. That's where we're at. But if he doesn't do anything very soon, then Ukraine is going to go further into Russian territory. Well, in this next story here, I mean, this tells you what the advance of the Ukrainian forces are. They're setting up military offices in Kursk at this moment, Rick. Now, the article from the London Telegraph tells us that Ukraine has established its first military administration in the Kursk border region. This

is Russian territory, folks, in a sign that it plans to hold on to that territory for the foreseeable future. Alexander Sersky, Kiev's top military general, said on Thursday that the administration was required to maintain law and order and address the population's urgent needs. It went on to say that Kiev's forces claim to have advanced 35 kilometers further into Kursk since the cross-border assault was launched last week, capturing 82 settlements. In total, Kiev claimed that it has control of 1,150 square kilometers of Russian territory. And so when an invading army starts setting up their field offices and headquarters and beginning. Yeah, they're planning on staying for a while. But it says that the Russian military is incapable of getting rid of them.

I just. That's the part that just stuns me, that they have not brought out their heavy equipment and just blown them to smithereens unless they're afraid of, they're hesitant because of the Russian people living there and knowing they're all going to die. Well, that's a possibility there, Rick. But I just can't help but think that if we had an invasion from Mexico and Mexico had captured 82 towns in South Texas, what would we be doing in response? But the third thing, and if Putin was removed, would be that Russia uses tactical nukes against Ukraine.

And perhaps NATO countries, too. I think they'll use it against – I think they'll use it on Ukrainian territory. I think the city of Kiev will probably disappear. I think the pressure is going to be so great on Putin, you have to bring them to their knees.
