Former President Donald Trump and current Vice President Kamala Harris will debate each other tonight on live television beginning at 9 p.m. Eastern. On the morning of the debate, former First Lady Melania Trump dropped a truth bomb on the deep state and the news media establishment. She questioned the role of federal agents in the attempted assassination of her husband. I'm Rick Wiles. This is True News for Tuesday, September 10, 2024. Let's begin our analysis and commentary of today's world news
Starting point is 00:01:33 with this New York Post headline, Melania Trump Demands Answers in Donald's Assassination Attempt. I think the best thing to do is let's look at the video that she released today. The attempt to end my husband's life was a horrible, distressing experience. Now, the silence around it feels heavy. I can't help but wonder, why didn't law enforcement officials arrest the shooter before the speech? There is definitely more to this story, and we need to uncover the truth. Doc, there are several things here that are mind-boggling. Number one, the former first lady, the wife of President Trump, today insinuated that federal agents were involved in the attempted assassination of her husband. Right.
Starting point is 00:02:35 And this is significant in the fact that really Melania Trump stays pretty much out of the political spotlight here. She's very quiet. She's got a spotlight here. She's very quiet. So just that fact alone is highly significant. You can't get any closer to the Trump family other than Donald Trump himself. So his wife today said, I've got questions about why the federal agents allowed my husband to be shot. Number two, the video was strategically released on the morning of the debate. Yes. So the Trump team rolled a grenade out on the floor. Yes.
Starting point is 00:03:25 That tells me he's going to say something tonight. Yes. Something, does he know something that he has yet to say publicly, but has waited for this debate so that the entire nation is watching? Very well could be. That's what I think is coming. This isn't a major bomb. The big bombshell, I think, is coming tonight.
Starting point is 00:03:52 Because, I mean, when you get to the root of it, the assassination attempt on Donald Trump is a failure of the Biden administration. One way or another, whether it was planned or just complete lack of any sort of – Incompetence. Yes, it would be complete incompetence. But it's not incompetence.
Starting point is 00:04:10 It was planned incompetence. There you go. Planned incompetence. Planned incompetence. They set it up to look like a series of incompetent actions were taken or not taken, and that's how the attempted assassination was allowed to take place. My gut feeling is this was released today by the Trump family for the purpose of setting the stage for something Mr. Trump is going to release tonight in the debate, something that's going to knock Kamala Harris out of her high heels,
Starting point is 00:04:48 that she won't have a comeback, that she'll be speechless. That's my thought, that he's got information that they've kept quiet, and he's going to release it tonight. We'll see. Debate at 9 p.m. Be hosted by ABC this time. ABC, but it will be on multiple news networks. They're going to do a simulcast.
Starting point is 00:05:14 So I know CBS, NBC, Fox News. I think NPR, a lot of networks are carrying the debate. But it starts at 9 p.m. Eastern. Yesterday we told you that Israeli political leader Benny Gantz made a warning on Sunday, speaking in Washington, D.C., that Israel would start a major offensive in Lebanon within days or maybe weeks. He said they're going to have to take care of Hezbollah. The inference was Israel is about to wrap up operations in Gaza. Doc, they pretty much have, there's very little hope of the hostages being released. Now, what this could mean is the cabinet has decided, let's take the deal that we've got.
Starting point is 00:06:21 There is a deal on the table, proposal. Mr. Netanyahu has been against it. He's been driving a hard bargain, always putting obstacles into accepting the proposal. He may go ahead and sign it. Right. Get the release of whatever hostages are still alive. They will have to release a lot of Palestinian prisoners. Then they basically declare the Gaza operation finished.
Starting point is 00:06:56 Right. And they'll move to the next operation. And then they go north to Lebanon. That's what I think. But let's watch the video again. Again, this was spoken in Washington, D.C. This is Benny Gantz. And he was, this was on an interview with Dan Sanor, host of the Call Me Back podcast.
Starting point is 00:07:21 Let's watch. And the time of north has come. And actually, I think we are late on this. And I think that we should seek to have a deal to get our hostages out, but if we cannot get it in the coming time, I would say, I won't limit it to days or a few weeks or whatever it is. We should go up north and take care and make sure we can get our people back to their homes. And I don't think we should delay it anymore.
Starting point is 00:08:02 So what I heard from that, Rick, and maybe I'm wrong on this, but what I heard from Mr. Gantz is whether or not they get the hostages back. They're moving on Hezbollah. Exactly. The decision has been made. If we can get to hostages, fine. That's great. If we can't, they die.
Starting point is 00:08:16 That's what he's saying. If we can't get them out, they die. We've got more war to fight. So if you're a hostage. Your death certificate just got sent. Yes. You better hope that Hamas accepts the deal and releases you. Because, you know, last week they executed a number of hostages.
Starting point is 00:08:44 And that's been a very traumatic situation in Israel. Are there still more? I don in Israel. Are there still more? I don't know. Are there still more Americans being held? I think there's six more. There's still Americans? I believe so. What has the Biden administration done? What they do in every American citizen held overseas, whether it's Afghanistan or wherever, they just abandon them.
Starting point is 00:09:04 They just abandoned them. We used to send troops in to rescue hostages. Remember that? Yes. That was the good old days, but not anymore. We just let them die. It's unthinkable that Americans are still held hostage in September of 24, when this started in October. The U.S. could have gotten the Americans out.
Starting point is 00:09:32 They could have cut a deal with Hamas and gotten the Americans out. Yeah, they had a side deal going along that line. That's all they had to do, make the deal. Well, anyhow, here's where I'm going with this. I wanted to return to this today with uh mr gantz saying within days maybe weeks i don't want to put a time limit on it we're going to turn our attention to the north meaning lebanon hezbollah so the next story i see this is times of israel top.S. official warns of catastrophic consequences to war in Lebanon.
Starting point is 00:10:09 It says a full-blown war between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon could have catastrophic and unforeseen consequences, a senior U.S. official said at the Middle East-America Dialogue Summit in Washington, D.C., Monday, yesterday. Right. Now, this was reported by Barack Ravid, who I believe is a blogger. I don't know who Mr. Ravid is, but he has the information. I assume he was at this conference. And this is what he posted on X. It says, I'll let you read it, Doc.
Starting point is 00:10:52 So it says, a senior U.S. official warned on Monday against the scenario of an all-out war between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon and stressed that such an escalation would have catastrophic and unforeseen consequences. The U.S. official spoke amid preparations in Israel for a possible escalation in the fighting with Hezbollah in the north as a result of the deadlock in the Gaza hostage and ceasefire deal negotiations. Now, you heard that. The preparations are being made to go against Hezbollah because they've come to a conclusion on the hostage situation. There is no war in lab conditions. It's not a game.
Starting point is 00:11:30 I don't doubt the capabilities of the IDF, but we have to think about the fact that there will be serious consequences for both sides, the U.S. official, according to Barack Verveed, Israeli officials who want to go to war against Hezbollah in order to return displaced Israelis to their homes should take into account that in such a scenario, many Israelis could be killed and many others would have no homes to return to. Now, it goes on to say, there's an idea of let's go to war and then we will destroy all the missiles that Hezbollah has and everything will be fine. It's not that simple. There is no magic solution. The other side cannot be annihilated. At the end of the war, Israel may pay a heavy price and not achieve its goals. The U.S. official emphasized that a war in Lebanon would lead to the intervention of the international community in order to reach a diplomatic solution to end it that would look very similar to the diplomatic solution that is being discussed today.
Starting point is 00:12:33 Okay, so, Doc, thousands of Israelis in the northern part of Israel were evacuated months ago. Yes. They're still living in temporary housing. Yes, all over Israel in hotels. Well, at least they're in hotels. They're not like the Gazans. Nobody's bombing their hotels. But
Starting point is 00:12:55 the Israeli government has thousands of Israelis living in temporary housing. The political pressure, obviously, is people want to return home. Right. They're voters. They want to return home.
Starting point is 00:13:13 You know, if you were in a FEMA camp for months in the United States, you would be saying, hey, I want out of here. I want to go home. Right. Either have a war or let us go home. That's what the Israelis areis are under and it's
Starting point is 00:13:26 actually i've seen in israeli newspapers discussion of whether the fact that israelis fled their homes and were evacuated was a sign of weakness in zionism a defeat of zionism so the israelis are viewing this as a serious public relations disaster on the image of Zionism. That, hey, we have thousands of Israelis that fled. That's not supposed to happen. We're Zionists. We don't flee. We advance. We take land. In this case, they fled. And so the pressure is, we've got to end this to prove that Zionism has not been defeated. Because the Bingaviers, the Smotriches are saying, look, this makes us look weak. This makes the world think that we have been defeated. We have to show them that we're the boss. Right. Okay. So you've got that pressure going on. You have the hostage negotiations, which clearly
Starting point is 00:14:31 Netanyahu constantly sabotages. Right. He's moving the field goal lines. The moment you get to an agreement, he changes the terms. Why? Because he must have a war. You saw the massive crowds that were in Tel Aviv last Saturday night. Hundreds of thousands of people. And they also surrounded his home again. And they're demanding his ouster.
Starting point is 00:15:03 There's a film that's released today called The BB Files. Apparently, Doc, it's devastating. I don't know if it's been released today or they're doing debuts of it somewhere, premieres of the movie. But the Israelis who have seen it said it's devastating. Devastating to Netanyahu in the sense that the film makes him look incredibly corrupt. So he's got that public relations disaster going on. Everybody knows, everybody in Israel knows that he was about to be imprisoned before
Starting point is 00:15:50 October 7. It's common knowledge. So where is this going? Netanyahu must start another war. That means more people have to die. That man will abandon the hostages. I think they have abandoned them.
Starting point is 00:16:12 Well, they have a long time ago. But he will do a final abandonment very soon, maybe within days. I told you when I stood in front of that guy, to him in the World Economic Forum in Davos, I looked that man in the eyes. There's just death in his eyes. He's cold. He's lifeless. It's like looking in the eyes of a shark. He will abandon those hostages.
Starting point is 00:16:46 He doesn't care about them. He cares about Bibi Netanyahu. He cares about Zionism. He cares about the state of Israel. He cares about political power. That's all he cares about. He doesn't care about human life. He'll let people die.
Starting point is 00:17:02 His own people. He'll allow his own people to die. So we either come up with a diplomatic solution to the current situation, which is what the Middle East-America summit is all about, or we let them have a war and we still end up having to negotiate a diplomatic deal because no one's going to win in a war between Israel and Hezbollah. Right. Okay? Unless you can get another player involved. Unless you get Iran.
Starting point is 00:17:29 Now you've got a double win for Netanyahu. He's got a bigger war. Despite all of the destruction of Gaza, Israel has not destroyed Hamas. Gantz admits it. Yes. Think about that. They have not destroyed them.
Starting point is 00:17:49 They're still fighting. And do you think that's on purpose or a weakness on Israel's part? I think it's a weakness. Because strategically stretching out the situation in Gaza is beneficial for Israel. Yes, but when they were bombing building after building, night after night, day after day, the public opinion of the world was swinging against Israel. I mean, that's where you get close to the international arrest warrants, which still haven't happened. Right. There's threats of it.
Starting point is 00:18:19 And when they run out of buildings, they bomb tents. So he had to pull back to take the pressure off of the International Criminal Court to arrest him. Right. I'll just bomb a little bit. It's crazy. A refugee camp here, a humanitarian center over here, a church over here. I won't do it 24-7. I won't rain down hell on children all day and night.
Starting point is 00:18:47 So he had to back off because the world was vomiting, literally vomiting at what Zionism is. But Bibi is ruthless, and he's a murderer. He is a mass murderer. He's a madman. I am convinced, Doc, he will attack Lebanon very soon. And he will do everything he can to get Iran in the war. We're marching towards the fall.
Starting point is 00:19:22 We're going into this fall season. And war is upon us. So just keep this in mind, days, maybe weeks. A big war is about to erupt in the Middle East between Israel and Lebanon, actually between Hezbollah. But Hezbollah is not Hamas. Yes. There's a whole different animal there. What Hamas was firing into Israel were bottle rockets compared to what Hezbollah has. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:54 The estimates are there are hundreds of thousands of rockets that Hezbollah has at its disposal. And remember the story about the – that Iran transferred to them emp weapons yes and that and we also know hezbollah has taunted the israelis by releasing drone video footage of sensitive israeli sites showing the israelis hey we flew a drone over top this infrastructure and you didn't even know about it right you got through your iron dome so they're telling the israelis when the war starts you have no idea what we're capable of doing you had the energy executive months ago who said hey we're not prepared the grid's going to go down we're going to be without electricity for a long time.
Starting point is 00:20:45 So what we're hearing today out of this conference, what this Mr. Ravid reported was that an unnamed senior U.S. official yesterday said this war could have catastrophic and unforeseen
Starting point is 00:21:04 consequences and thousands of people will die on both sides. This war could have catastrophic and unforeseen consequences, and thousands of people will die on both sides. So Netanyahu's bloodlust will be satisfied for a brief time. He'll have to kill more. The man truly is demon-possessed. I am convinced of it. He's demon-possessed. I am convinced of it. He's demon-possessed. When the killing is done in Lebanon,
Starting point is 00:21:30 he'll have to move on to another country. That's right. Because the demons in him want more blood. They can't stop. He's addicted to blood. Scary that your soul can get in that position. Sky News. A threat to all
Starting point is 00:21:50 of Europe. Iran is supplying Russia with ballistic missiles, says U.S. Secretary of State. Now, yesterday, we talked about that the U.S. has accused Iran of shipping missiles to Russia to be used in Ukraine.
Starting point is 00:22:11 We say, okay, there's the first warning. The U.S. is saying, we're going to have to do something about this. Today, the U.S. Secretary of State said, it's not just a threat to Ukraine. The entire European continent is now in danger. Because of Iran supplying missiles to Russia. Yes. Therefore, this is a NATO matter. You got it.
Starting point is 00:22:41 You see where this is going? So we get another story, a deeper story. We get some video in this. Reuters, Blinken says Russia received missiles from Iran, warns of threat to European security. Folks, I know some of you might think this is all so boring. We don't talk about politics. We don't talk about the stuff that most bloggers talk about every day and most podcasters. No, I'm talking about World War III. That's probably the most important story out there. Would you agree?
Starting point is 00:23:17 It is the most important story. why we continue on this day after day after day, because there's a day coming when it's going to be in your backyard. And then you understand why old Rick Wiles just kept telling you, you better pay attention to what's happening. You better build up your food supplies. You better make sure you have a way to get clean water. You better have a bug out plan. You better know what to do when the lights go out. That day's coming. So Reuters said Russia has received ballistic missiles from Iran and will likely use them in Ukraine within weeks. So, Doc, here we go again. Yes, we're weeks away. We're weeks away from something, said Antony Blinken, the Secretary of State, warning that cooperation between Moscow and Tehran threatens wider European security.
Starting point is 00:24:13 Mr. Blinken, speaking at a news conference in London ahead of a visit to Ukraine, he and Britain's Foreign Secretary, David Lamy, will make together, said Washington had previously warned Iran had provided ballistic missiles to Russia and that this would constitute a dramatic escalation and said new sanctions would be imposed later on Tuesday, which already the sanctions have been announced. So we've got some video of Mr. Blinken's comments, and we got this from Sky News. Let's watch this. As David said, we'll be traveling together to Kyiv this week, and I think it's a critical moment for Ukraine. In the midst of what is an intense fall fighting season with Russia continuing to escalate its aggression against civilians, against
Starting point is 00:25:12 critical infrastructure, and of course against Ukrainian forces. We see it ramping up its attacks on cities, on people, in particular targeting the energy infrastructure, electricity, all in advance of the coldest months. Putin's winter playbook of weaponizing energy and electricity. This joint trip reflects strong transatlantic support, aligned also with our NATO allies, with our Indo-Pacific partners, with the more than 50 countries that continue to strongly and resolutely support Ukraine. Together, we're working to make sure that Ukraine can defend its territory against the ongoing aggression, that it will be able to stand strongly on its own two feet
Starting point is 00:25:57 militarily, economically, democratically, and that it will remain on the path that the Ukrainian people so desire it to be on, of closer integration with Europe, with transatlantic institutions. Ukraine is clearly on that path. Together, we're going to continue to help it move along that path. So this press conference here, this is being held ahead of his trip to Ukraine. So Blinken is going to be delivering a message to Zelensky, we got your back. I just talked to the Brits. We're going in this together. We're going to see you through the calculus of things moving forward.
Starting point is 00:26:53 And if that changes things, that means that's the opening for them to change their policy about the use of American missiles to attack deep inside Russia. That's right. He didn't say it, but we're being set up for it. That's right. All right, let's watch this video. To wage his war of aggression on Ukraine, Putin is also relying increasingly on help from Iran and the DPRK. In these instances, to get actual weapons
Starting point is 00:27:23 in clear violation of multiple UN Security Council resolutions. Now, Tehran has long supplied deadly drones. It's built a drone factory in Russia. It's trained Russian personnel on how to operate them. For some time, the United States has warned of an additional threat, the provision by Iran of ballistic missiles to Russia for use in Ukraine. We've warned Tehran publicly, we've warned Tehran privately that taking this step would
Starting point is 00:27:54 constitute a dramatic escalation. Dozens of Russian military personnel have been trained in Iran to use the Fata-360 close-range ballistic missile system, which has a maximum range of 75 miles. Russia has now received shipments of these ballistic missiles and will likely use them within weeks in Ukraine against Ukrainians. Russia has an array of its own ballistic missiles, but the supply of Iranian missiles enables Russia to use more of its arsenal for targets that are further from the front line while dedicating the new missiles it's receiving from Iran for closer-range targets.
Starting point is 00:28:32 There will be significant economic consequences for Tehran's actions. The United States will be announcing further sanctions on Iran later today, including additional measures on Iran air. We expect allies and partners will be announcing their own new measures on Iran as well. Iran's new president and foreign minister have repeatedly said that they want to restore engagement with Europe. They want to receive sanctions relief. Destabilizing actions like these will achieve exactly the opposite.
Starting point is 00:29:12 So, Doc, Mr. Blinken, you know, he also brought in North Korea. Yes. So, you know, he's accusing North Korea and Iran of supplying missiles to Russia to use in Ukraine. Which they are. There's no doubt about it. They're doing it. But the U.S. and Britain and France supply missiles to Ukraine to use in Russia. And to Israel to use against Iran. I mean, at some future point. And against Gaza. And against the Palestinian people.
Starting point is 00:29:38 So it's okay if the West does it. Netanyahu could not slaughter tens of thousands of children without U.S. missiles. And Ukraine wouldn't even be in the fight right now if it wasn't for the current supply of long-range missiles. That's right. Because Boris Johnson ran over to Ukraine in, I think, April of 2022 and said, Don't sign a peace treaty with Russia. We'll back you. Keep the war going.
Starting point is 00:30:08 So here we are now. Two years later, massive death and destruction. For what purpose? Putin wanted to end the war in spring of 22. Yes. Everybody could be living happily ever after. Except NATO. And ironically, that peace deal was actually negotiated by Naftali Bennett of Israel.
Starting point is 00:30:31 Yes. And then Newland and Boris Johnson deep-sixed it. They sabotaged it. So here's my question, Rick. We see what's being set up here. They're potentially setting up an attack on Iran at some point in the future. And they're going to justify it by saying Iran supplied missiles to Russia. Okay.
Starting point is 00:30:53 So would Russia be justified in attacking NATO allies that are supplying missiles to Ukraine? If we're using Western logic on this, Russia would be justified in it, wouldn't they? Yes, and what has NATO been trying to do for years? Bait Putin into a fight. So this is the latest, this would be the latest trap.
Starting point is 00:31:21 Hey, use our logic against us. Come on and hit us. We want you to hit us. That's what NATO wants. They want Putin to do something that justifies NATO unleashing everything against Russia. Yeah, to protect the world. Yes. Now, what I don't remember, I'll have to do a research after this program today.
Starting point is 00:31:45 Has Russia ever signed a defense treaty with Iran? I've't remember. I'll have to do a research after this program today. Has Russia ever signed a defense treaty with Iran? I've lost track. It seemed like they had a mutual defense treaty. That's what I'm wondering. Now, if they have a mutual defense treaty, and the U.S. and Israel and NATO attacks Iran, because you can see where this is going with Israel. Bibi would be beside himself if the U.S. and NATO said, hey, we've agreed. The time has come to attack Iran.
Starting point is 00:32:25 So if there is a defense treaty between Iran and Russia, I mean, it's unimaginable what's going to take place doc you have all out war so it's a dangerous time you have to perceive that there are people who want war who are working for war
Starting point is 00:32:43 who are provoking war. And we as the church of God need to continue to pray, to muzzle the demons that are driving world leaders to madness. That's what's taking place. Demons are driving world leaders to madness because nuclear war is madness. Wall Street Journal reporting today, Russia came under one of the biggest drone attacks of the Ukraine war. Russia's defense ministry said they shot down 144 ukrainian drones some of them reached moscow one woman near moscow living in a residential building was
Starting point is 00:33:36 was killed by the attack according to wall street journal so they're getting closer to the capital city of moscow task news agency russia military has plans for pushing Ukrainian troops out of Kursk region. I would hope so. Dmitry Peskov said, naturally, the military has plans, but I can't discuss them publicly. Well, nobody expects you to discuss them publicly. I think everybody's waiting to see when will Russia do it. I mean, we're now over a month, and Ukraine is controlling Russian territory. The first time a foreign country has invaded Russia since World War II, when the Nazis invaded Russia.
Starting point is 00:34:25 And we're over a month into this. And Russia has not been able or willing at this point to remove them. I don't know what Putin's plan is. Putin is so calculating and so restrained that you don't know what chess move he's planning. Right. He's just taking his time. Now, he may be waiting out the American elections. That's true.
Starting point is 00:35:02 Saying, I'm not going to get my country blown up with nukes. The Ukrainians have a little chunk of our country. I'm not going to lose the whole country with the nuclear war. I'm going to wait until the elections and see if the Americans have regained their sanity and elect Donald Trump and we can end this war. But if Kamala Harris wins the election, I think Putin knows... He can do anything he wants.
Starting point is 00:35:29 The war's going to continue. Right. Because the war party will be still in control. And then even if Donald Trump wins, he still has to be sworn in. I mean, you can't even assume that they're going to allow him to be sworn in. That's right.
Starting point is 00:35:48 RT, Russia holding biggest strategic naval drills in decades. Guess who they're holding drills with? China. China. Didn't have to happen, folks. America's foreign policy drove Russia into the arms of Xi Jinping. This did not have to happen, folks. America's foreign policy drove Russia into the arms of Xi Jinping. This did not have to happen.
Starting point is 00:36:11 They didn't cross that line until a couple years ago when this war started. But we forced Russia. I mean, when you when somebody's coming after you and you realize, hey, we're not big enough to take these guys on unless we do something that ends up in our total annihilation, theirs and ours.
Starting point is 00:36:34 You reach out and you make a deal even with somebody you don't trust. Yes. And the Russians don't trust the Chinese. They don't trust them. They're afraid of them, too. I mean, China borders Russia. The Chinese PLA could invade Russia at any day. Right, and take half of Russia without much of a fight, really.
Starting point is 00:36:55 And don't you think Putin's, I mean, Xi Jinping's looking at Kursk saying, hmm, Ukraine actually got inside Russia. Gee, we could take a big chunk of Russia. And what are they going to do about it? So what I'm saying is our Western foreign policy of perpetual war, sanctions, constantly being aggressive against Russia, we drove Russia into the arms of Xi Jinping. And the winner right now, right now, the winner of this Ukraine-Russia war is China. Because what they're hoping is that the West and Russia beat each other up. And then China can just—
Starting point is 00:37:42 And China wins. That's right. They just want to stay out of the war uh another one um let's see we've got some video this is a this is video released by the by the russian military so um i don't want to be accused of spreading russian propaganda this was released by the russian ministry of Defense today, showing the drills that are taking place. And this is the Russian Onyx and Urine cruise missiles being launched from a mobile coastal facility, and just showing the ability of Russia to be able to respond to any potential
Starting point is 00:38:18 attacks that may come their way. And this is part of the drills that are going on with China right now. All right, I want to return to the Middle East. I-24 News, the IDF expresses its deepest regret over killing an American citizen. Again. Again. We're so sorry, they said. They said, you know, this is a Turkish-American woman who was in Palestine. She wasn't in Gaza. She was in Palestine. And she was defending Palestinian farmers whose land was being stolen by aggressive Zionist land thieves.
Starting point is 00:39:06 Over in the West Bank. in Jablus. Right. So the Jewish, I don't want to call them settlers. They're land thieves. They go in, they burn the olive tree groves, they tear down the barns, they destroy the Palestinian farms, they chase off the Palestinian farmers and their families, and they steal their farms she was there protecting them and the IDF
Starting point is 00:39:32 shot her so the military said it is highly likely she was hit indirectly and unintentionally by IDFR which was not aimed at her. In other words, Israel said, her head.
Starting point is 00:39:51 Yeah, we did kill her. Her head just happened to be in a line of sight of a sniper's bullet. Right. So they admitted they killed her. But this is not the first American that they've killed. They've killed other Americans. And what happens? We give them more missiles.
Starting point is 00:40:10 We send more money, billions of dollars. They kill Americans and we send them billions of dollars. That's right. You want to make it stop? Stop sending the money. Then it stops. Then they go, oh, we've crossed the line. The Americans are mad.
Starting point is 00:40:25 We've been shooting their people, and now they're angry. Yeah, so this is what you do. You cut off the funds. You cut off all the foreign aid, all the military aid. You stop sending them the missiles and the ammo, and you punish them for killing Americans. Next one, Secretary of State Blinken today said, there's going to have to be a change. That's the last American we're going to allow to be killed by Israel. Sure, just like the last one was the last one.
Starting point is 00:40:54 The last one was the last one. Earlier on Tuesday in London with his British counterpart, David Lammy, called for changes to IDF rules of engagement. After the killing of a U.S. and Turkish citizen in the West Bank last week, which was what Anthony Blinken has seen was unprovoked and unjustified, he said the death of Ansanera Ege was the second time a U.S. citizen was killed, referring to the death of Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akhla back in 2022. No one should be shot and killed for attending a protest, he said. Fundamental changes must be made to how Israeli forces operate in the West Bank, specifically when live fire is permitted. And so everybody knows that the IDF killed this person. Yes. And Doug, if you remember, Shireen Abu-Aikla, who was shot in 2022, she was shot in the head. She was a reporter. She was a Christian.
Starting point is 00:41:55 Yes. There was no outcry from the American Christian community that Israel shot a Christian in the head, a Christian woman. And what was she—we showed the video of her being shot. She was in the street. She was doing her job as a reporter. An IDF sniper shot her in the head, just like they shoot Palestinian boys every Friday. It's just the way the Israelis are.
Starting point is 00:42:21 They're murderers. And God called them murderers thousands of years ago. They're still murderers today. We've got video Anthony Blinken saying, we're going to have to do something about it. Can't let this go on. We deplore this tragic loss. Now, the most important thing to do is to gather the facts, and that's exactly what we're in the process of doing. And we are intensely focused on getting those facts. And any actions that we take are driven by the facts. So first things first, let's find out exactly what happened. As we have more info, we'll share it. We'll make it available.
Starting point is 00:43:06 And as necessary, we'll act on it. Here's the facts, Mr. Secretary. Anne Siner was an American citizen. She was protecting poor Palestinian farmers who were being assaulted and raided by violent Israeli Zionists. A fact is an IDF sniper shot her in the head. Those are your facts. What else do you need to investigate? And another fact, we're not going to do a thing about it. That's the other fact, Doc. What are we going to do?
Starting point is 00:43:39 We're going to get some dust up out of the ground. We're going to throw it up in the air and say, oh, there you go. Write a report. And you're not going to do anything about this next story. London Times, 40 Palestinians killed in Israeli strike on Gaza. Refugee camp. This happened last night, folks. People sleeping in their tents.
Starting point is 00:43:58 Refugees sleeping in tents. Children asleep in tents. Why are they in tents? Because the Israelis blew up their homes months ago. And so what did the Israelis do to them last night as they slept? They blew them up. They burned their tents with fire. They killed 40 people, many of them children, sleeping in their beds in the tents at night.
Starting point is 00:44:22 Doc, this next story, this is number 21. And New York Post reporting, House politicians demand Harris-Biden administration explain lapses in vetting that allowed a communist Cuban official to migrate to the U.S. This actually happened, this story is
Starting point is 00:44:41 fresh today, but the immigration first came to light a month or two ago. It's a high-ranking Cuban communist official. Yes. Was given, I don't know if they gave him citizenship, but they allowed him to legally come. They issued a U.S. visa. At least a visa, yes. Gave a visa to this guy and allowed him to move in.
Starting point is 00:45:08 And to this day, he's still here. Yes. So anyhow, a group of congressmen and congresswomen demanding to know why this Cuban communist official was allowed in. Now, we'll go back to August 23rd. This is Miami Herald. Lawmakers condemn arrival of Cuban communist party leader who's come to live in Miami. Isn't that just wonderful? He's here in the state of Florida. And so as Republican members of Florida's congressional delegation
Starting point is 00:45:46 have complained to the Biden administration that a former high-ranking communist official from Cuba recently immigrated to the United States through the Miami International Airport. And the letter to Antony Blinken says, quote, we are outraged that an individual with a role in suppressing the Cuban people for decades was permitted the extraordinary privilege of U.S. entry so that he could spend his retirement in freedom and comfort. Oh, you can't retire in Cuba?
Starting point is 00:46:19 Not in freedom and comfort, you can't. So it's a story that it hasn't received much publicity in America. It's just another example of the Biden administration's immigration policies. Right. Why would they be concerned about a Cuban communist coming in when they're not concerned about 10,000 Chinese men coming across every month? Hey, this next story, and I've got four minutes. I think a lot of people in our audience would be interested in this. This is an update on Alex Jones and Infowars.
Starting point is 00:46:54 I found this story today. It's put out by a group known as News Times. Multiple buyers ready to bid on Alex Jones bankrupt InfoWars. It says, for years, Alex Jones was accused of making tens of millions in annual supplement sales by broadcasting. Now, listen, we're reading this article. This is not our information. By broadcasting defamatory denials about the Sandy Hook massacre on his conspiracy
Starting point is 00:47:26 and merchandising platform InfoWars. Now, a federal bankruptcy official in charge of liquidating everything Jones owns to pay the families a token of the $1.5 billion he owes has scheduled the Jones-owned company for the auction block. That's what I want you to hear. A federal bankruptcy trustee has scheduled that InfoWars will go on the auction block very soon. I would say possibly within the next month or two. The bankruptcy official told a federal judge in Texas that multiple parties want a piece. Listen to this. The bankruptcy trustee said that multiple parties want a piece of Jones's bankrupted parent company known as Free Speech System.
Starting point is 00:48:31 The parts of the business that the buyers want to bid on range from the trademarks, domain names, copyrighted material, social media accounts, and any other transferable intellectual property rights, and to broadcast studio technology and video production equipment. The trustee said at the conclusion of the asset sales, the trustee would terminate operations, dismiss the employees and contractors, and take appropriate steps to dissolve and wind down free speech system entity consistent with any further order of this court. The trustee believes an orderly sale of non-cash assets would generate substantial cash and maximize value for all stakeholders. And it says by substantial, the trustee does not mean anywhere near the hundreds of millions
Starting point is 00:49:24 Jones owes families who won the cases. It goes on to say in the next one, the next still. Instead, the trustee is referring to an estimated 1.8 million from the auction of free speech system and Infowars. That's what they're expecting to get. Well, that's what the shareholders, I mean, the stakeholders get. It says that's the amount they get once liquidation costs and lawyers fees are extracted. Right. So that's what they're expecting, that they'll be able to get $1.8 million once liquidation costs and lawyer fees are extracted. In a similar but separate case of Jones's personal bankruptcy,
Starting point is 00:50:07 no more than three to four million dollars would be left to distribute among Sandy Hook families once expenses are subtracted. In addition, the trustee has held on to profits Jones and his show has generated. The bottom line, where this is going, is that it appears, as you read deeper into this story, it says a hearing has been scheduled for September 24. It's a sale hearing. Yes. A hearing on the sale of Infowars, September 24. To me, a trustee is going to padlock the building any day. And this all happened before?
Starting point is 00:50:50 It's going to happen very quick. It's going to go down. It's going to shut down, and things are going to be sold off. That's the update on InfoWars. We've got to go. Good morning, everybody. Welcome to Morning Manna. This is your weekday Bible study sponsored by Faith and Values Fellowship. We meet every Monday through Friday at 8 a.m. at faithandvalues.com. Dr. Burkhart and I are teaching the Word. We are working our way through the gospel according to St. Matthew. We're in the 22nd chapter. And yesterday, well, actually, we started last Friday and then yesterday on Monday. And today we are studying the parable of the wedding feast. And that is found in chapter 22.
Starting point is 00:52:42 And so today we're going to be looking at verses 11 through 14. And let's pray. We must invite the Holy Spirit before we begin. Father, Father, we give you glory and praise and thanksgiving and honor for this wonderful day of life. And we request the presence of your Holy Spirit to lead and guide and direct this morning manna Bible study. Father, we have come for our morning manna, manna from heaven, the word of God. And so our mouths are open and we desire to be fed by you.
Starting point is 00:53:24 In Jesus' name amen amen all right so here we are once again in matthew chapter 22 and hopefully finishing up the parable of wedding feast today so if you got your bibles open them up to matthew 22 follow along with me i'm reading from the king james beginning at verse 11. And when the king came in to see his guest, he saw there a man which had not been in a wedding garment. And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. Then said the king to his servants, Find him hand and foot, and take him away.
Starting point is 00:54:05 Cast him into outer darkness, and there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. For many are called, but few are chosen. Praise God. So we are studying the parable of the wedding feast. And it is a powerful parable that foretold the ouster of the Jews as God's chosen people, the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD, and the reality that both good and bad people will be mixed together in the church until Jesus returns. So in this parable, the king is Almighty God. The son is Jesus Christ. The previously invited guests were the Jews. The wedding feast is the celebration of the marriage of the Son of God with humanity.
Starting point is 00:55:09 The king made the feast for his son. He was personally involved. Yes. His hands were involved in everything. He micromanaged the feast. It's really important to understand the king micromanage the preparation of the feast the king almighty god was so excited so enthused about this feast he himself got involved and led the preparations
Starting point is 00:55:43 the parable says everything is ready he himself got involved and led the preparations. The parable says everything is ready. The food is on the table. The band is playing. The party has begun. The fatlings have been killed. That's the phrase that jumps out at me.
Starting point is 00:56:00 The fatlings have been killed. We butchered the cows for this. A sacrifice. A sacrifice has been made. Everything's done. jumps out at me the fatlings have been we we butchered the cows for this sacrifice the sacrifices that made okay everything's done the food has been cooked the barbecue is is finished look at the great selection of of food the band is playing the lights are on where are the guests Where are the guests? Go get the guests. Why aren't they here yet?
Starting point is 00:56:30 So the Jews are the previously invited guests. And the servants of the king are the prophets. The prophets prophesied for centuries about the upcoming marriage feast. Over and over and over, the prophets invited the Jews to prepare to attend the grand gala. The Jews were without excuse. The prophets had told them over centuries that this event was going to be held someday. And when the great day arrived,
Starting point is 00:57:13 the king dispatched his servants to remind the guests who had been invited that it was the wedding day. The wedding day had arrived and they were expected to attend. And it was the wedding day. The wedding day had arrived. And they were expected to attend. You know, as the host of the party, he wasn't thinking. And we know that God has foreknowledge. But in a human way, the host would have no idea that the invited guest would snub him. He's excited.
Starting point is 00:57:52 He has spent wealth to lavishly prepare for this event. He didn't spare anything. Whatever was needed, he spent it couldn't believe that the people he invited didn't show up and so he dispatched servants to remind the guests that it was the wedding day and they were expected to attend, but the invited guests would not come. Would not, not could not, would not. So he sent more servants, and the invited guests made light of the invitation, meaning they showed no interest in it.
Starting point is 00:58:41 They saw it as meaningless, a waste of time. They went their own ways some to their farms other to their others to their merchandise their worldly pursuits were more valuable and important to them than attending the king's feast for his son's marriage even worse the remnant of those who were invited physically assaulted the servants and killed some of them. And, Doc, this is the last time in this parable that we read about the previously invited guests, the Jews, being invited again to attend the feast. Right. They disappear. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:31 They disappear from this parable. The Jews judged themselves as unworthy of eternal life. Therefore, the Gentiles had to be called to the feast. When the king heard what the remnant had done to his servants, he was furious. He dispatched armies to kill the murderers. They're not called guests anymore. They're called murderers. They went from being highly honored guests, chosen, to becoming murderers.
Starting point is 01:00:14 And so the king dispatched armies to kill the murderers and burn up their city. Matthew 22 verse 7 is where and when Jerusalem transitioned from God's city to the Jews' city. Yes. He burned up their city, not his. And verse
Starting point is 01:00:40 7 was fulfilled in 70 AD when Roman armies invaded Jerusalem and utterly destroyed the city and the temple. And not one stone was left standing. So the insulted king commanded his servants to go throughout his kingdom and invite everybody and anybody who would like to come to the wedding. Verse 10 says, so those servants went out into the highways and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good. And the wedding was furnished with guests. Yes.
Starting point is 01:01:24 The king said, I've got empty seats. This wedding hall is empty. I've got all these seats and all this food. There's nobody here. The people that I invited have insulted me. They won't come. Just go out and just get warm bodies. Right.
Starting point is 01:01:49 And when you think about this rick why why did the father want guests at the wedding it wasn't because well we spent all this money on food or we've rented the hall or all these other all the think of all the expenses that we made we've got to have guests no the reason why he wanted guests at his wedding was to what? Honor his son. Yes. That was the purpose of the guest at the wedding. It wasn't to eat a cow. It wasn't to enjoy all the trappings of a beautiful wedding.
Starting point is 01:02:17 All that's extra. The purpose of the guest at the wedding was my son is getting married. I want the world to know my son is getting married i want to honor my son that's right so he didn't he didn't tell his servants go out and find a bunch of people riffraff come bring them in here they can gorge and eat and drink that's what's taught though isn't it isn't that what's taught but that would imply that the people were, the heathens were talking while the marriage was going on. Right. No, they have to show respect.
Starting point is 01:02:52 Right. They didn't have an opportunity to go to the wedding before. They had no opportunity. Can you imagine that suddenly a servant of the king shows up at your house and... You've been chosen. Hey, guess what? It's your lucky day. You get you have been invited to the wedding of the king's son. And so now it's, you know, we think of it as, well,
Starting point is 01:03:19 the servants had to drag some homeless people out of the woods and everything and and get them dressed up and stuff no these were in fact i would think that these people that were invited or they should have been we'll see some exception here in just a moment but they would have been grateful for the invitation they would have been like oh my goodness we get to go to the wedding now martha bring out your best we're We've been invited to the wedding. Something they never expected would happen. Yes. Beyond their wildest imagination, the king would personally invite them. Yes. So verse 10 says, so those servants went out into the highways and gathered together as many as they found both bad and good, and the wedding was furnished with guests. The revised version of the Bible says that
Starting point is 01:04:12 they went out into the partings of the highways. It means that they went to the intersections, the forks in the roads, any place where the roads split apart to go different directions, or where the roads crisscrossed at intersections, or where the roads led to the center of the city, the heart of the city. In other words, they were sent to wherever people traveled and gathered and conversed and did business. The wedding party was open to all, good and bad. The servant's responsibility was to bring the people to the party. The king himself would decide who was worthy to attend and who was unfit to attend the party after they arrived.
Starting point is 01:05:11 That's right. So this is the message to the church. We are sent out into the world to preach the gospel to the good and the bad. To bring them to the party once they get to the party the king decides if they can stay and that's what this terrible is parable is teaching so verse 10 harmonizes with other parables taught by Jesus. Yes. The parable of the tares teaches us that the church will have members who are wheat and tares. Tares are plants that mimic wheat, and they will be separated by the reaper angels on the final day.
Starting point is 01:06:02 Then you have the parable of the dra drag net, where you have fishes that are caught up in the net, and then they're sorted, you know, when the net is brought in. There's both good fish and bad fish in the net. The ocean's the world, the net is the gospel, and then there's this separation that occurs after the net is drawn in. So verse 10 harmonizes with that as well. That's right. It's the angels who separate the good fish from the bad fish on the day of judgment, the final day, the last day. And then Jesus also taught that on the final day, he will separate the world's population according to their tribes and nations and each nation's population will be separated into two groups sheep and goats and likewise the parable of the ten virgins teaches us that five virgins are wise
Starting point is 01:06:58 five are foolish and the five foolish virgins were denied entrance into the wedding ceremony why because they did not prepare for a late arrival of the bridegroom they were caught by surprise all ten virgins had oil, but only five had extra oil. That's the important message in the parable of the virgins. They all had oil, but only five had extra. That's right. Five were preppers. So what we get from this parable here and from the other parables is that there's a universal call of the gospel the gospel is for everyone it's been it's it's not limited to
Starting point is 01:07:53 the jews but it's open now to the whole world and paul talks about this not only in the book of acts but also in his epistles that there's a a universal call of the gospel. It is for everybody. Red and yellow, black and white, you know, no matter who it is, there's a universal call. Yet, the response to that call, there's a measurement that's implied here in this parable and the other parables that the response to the gospel requires, well, the gospel requires a response. Even though the call is universal, the application of salvation is not universal. The application of salvation requires a response of some kind, a response on our part, at least from our perspective it does it requires a wedding garment to be the proper fish to be a wheat not a tear to have oil in our lamp whatever it might be but there is something that
Starting point is 01:08:53 takes place after the gospel itself is presented you know what i hear doc um the house rules. Yeah. All right. You follow the rules of the house. When you visit somebody's home, you try to the best of your ability to know what the rules of that house are. When you walk in, if you see a lot of shoes inside the house and the foyer, you know what the rule is. Mama wants you to take your shoes off yes so you follow the rules of the house I want to make clear that I am in no way saying that Jews are prohibited from entering the kingdom that That is not what I'm saying. By all means, they are welcome in the kingdom. Absolutely. They will not come.
Starting point is 01:09:55 That's the message. Yes, but now it's the open invitation that they have to respond to. Yes, and so today, Doc, the Jews are saying, well, we can't enter the church because the church allows gentiles in it yes yes because your ancestors would not come in and your ancestor abraham was a gentile thank you very much i mean you know so at the heart of it we're all gentiles now but the the invitation that was in place before is null and void now that's right that invitation you if you showed up with that
Starting point is 01:10:32 invitation at the wedding there's what's this we we've opened it up to everybody now now you're welcome to come in but you have to have a you have to have a new invitation. That's right. So there's a consistency in all of these parables. A great separation of souls will occur on the final day when Jesus returns. The lesson for us is that there will be a mixture in the church until Christ returns. Every church congregation will have a mixture of wheat and tares. Good fish and bad fish. Wise virgins and foolish virgins. And it is not our responsibility to remove them from the church congregations.
Starting point is 01:11:21 You will tear apart a church congregation if you try to remove the tears and you're out of god's will he clearly taught jesus clearly taught us don't pull up the tears god's angels will do it on the final day. Our responsibility is to make sure each of us is in the proper category. You cannot stop another soul from being a tear. You can only make sure you are wheat. And now we come to verse 11. And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there was a man which had not on a wedding garment. And when the king came in to see, see who? The guest. The verse implies that the king deliberately conducted an on-site inspection of his guest.
Starting point is 01:12:31 Yes. Take that home today and think about it. The king himself conducts a personal inspection of those who enter the party you're not going to escape his attention no the phrase to see is translated from a Greek word, heomai, which means to behold, to look upon, to gaze at a spectacle,
Starting point is 01:13:11 to contemplate, to observe intently, to see as to grasp its significance. It implies careful and intentional inspection rather than casual observation. If I just walk into a room and just kind of glance around, that's a casual observation. But if I go to each person and look them up and down, I'm sizing them up. That's what the king did. He sized up everybody in the room.
Starting point is 01:13:53 It means close examination, scrutiny. The king's assessment of the guests was serious. This was his son's wedding no imposters could be there the Kings purpose in inspecting the guests was to discern their true nature their character and their suitability for the occasion right the scrutiny the scrutiny from the king was not a superficial glance, a look over,
Starting point is 01:14:29 but a deliberate focus observation to evaluate each and every person. You couldn't hide behind one person. Say, hey, I'm with him. No, hey, come on out. I got to look at you. You couldn't go behind a curtain just stick your head out hey come out I got to see how what you're wearing it's such a great parable if the wedding feast is ongoing now
Starting point is 01:15:00 until Christ returns. Oh, get ready, dog. Man, this is where the Holy Ghost breaks out. If the wedding feast is ongoing now and will continue until Christ returns, we must accept the reality that the king's inspection of guests inside the feast is also ongoing now. Yes. There are people being booted from the kingdom. The parable symbolizes God's discernment of individuals within the church. He is able
Starting point is 01:15:47 to observe and distinguish between genuine believers and hypocrites. Various occasions, moments of divine visitation, providential judgments, and the final judgment when Christ returns all represent times when God comes in to see the guest. Yes. Sometimes he visits a nation or a city or a home, a family. Or an individual.
Starting point is 01:16:29 Or an individual. The scrutiny occurs not only at the final judgment, but also during significant moments such as Holy Communion. Think about that one. When you're at the communion table, the King is inspecting those who came to the feast. You know, Rick, I served in the military. You got a lot of people on here that served in the military as well. And we regularly went through inspections, usually when we were in formation or we were in our barracks or whatever. And we were called to attention. And either our drill sergeant or command sergeant or our officer in charge would inspect us. If we'd be in formation, we were in formation, we were expected to be in the proper uniform, fully prepared
Starting point is 01:17:34 for inspection at any time. Our shoes had to be, our boots had to be polished, our pants, our trousers had to be bloused properly, our dress, our blouse had to be worn directly, our hat had to be on right, our hair had to be cut properly, or we failed inspection. And we had to be ready for inspection at a moment's notice without any warning at all. Sometimes you'd be given a heads up, hey, there's going to be an inspection Friday, look out. But most of the time, inspections came without any warning. You had to be prepared at any time. And one of the scary things to have your drill sergeant say to you in boot camp, you're out of uniform, because that meant that you were getting ready to do,
Starting point is 01:18:27 you were going to get to push the earth for a while. So when the inspection was announced, the drill sergeant didn't say, okay, I'm going to give you guys 10 minutes to get ready. Didn't happen that way. No. If you had the uniform on you you had to represent the uniform and the uniform represented the nation that you're defending that's right and so um if if a commander showed up at a military base and the troops were out in the yard in lawn chairs in swimming attar sunbathing
Starting point is 01:19:12 what would that what would that commanding officer say to the officer in charge of that base um you're not in the least bit prepared for action. Right. This is the most casual thing I've ever seen in my life on a military base. Right. And the idea behind inspection wasn't just to be on top of troops all the time, but was to teach a principle. If you couldn't take care of a uniform, then how can we trust you to take care of anything else if you can't take care of dressing properly to be ready for inspection anytime that meant you were not ready for combat
Starting point is 01:19:56 that's right and you were not worthy to represent the government of your nation and that's what's taking place here god comes in to see his guest so the concept of a careful inspection implies the idea that entrance into the kingdom of God requires more than outward appearance. It necessitates inner readiness, internal preparedness. And of course, this has an end times eschatological inference of the last days the final judgment there will be one last inspection yes but the inspection is underway now
Starting point is 01:20:54 the church needs to really hear that the inspection is underway right now the Lord is looking at his guest those who claim to be part of the wedding yes see we think everybody we think that the separation all the separation is going to take place on the final day but I think God's we wining out the population at his event. He's thinning it out day by day.
Starting point is 01:21:33 Yes. It's on the final day that they receive their just rewards. So it's important to understand that in ancient eastern cultures it was customary for a wealthy host a king a nobleman to provide guests with appropriate garments for a major event like a state dinner, a wedding. If you were invited by the king and you said, I don't have the proper clothing to attend such an illustrious affair, the king said, don't worry about it.
Starting point is 01:22:18 I have a massive wardrobe. Yes. You come to the palace, just tell my servants, and they will take you to the dressing room, and we'll find something for you. Right. So it was a sign of the wealth, the magnificence of the king, the nobleman, that he could provide garments for everybody. So in this parable, we have to assume that the king provided garments for his guests right including the riffraff that came in from the highways and the byways and the hedges
Starting point is 01:22:56 i say riffraff i'm talking about they went out and they just gathered up drunkards and drug addicts and prostitutes but when they all came to the wedding they were all basically dressed the same they they were all wearing clothing being accepted that's right he got them cleaned up he He didn't judge them. He didn't say, hey, you're riffraff. You can't come in here. He goes, hey, I'm honored that you would come to my son's wedding. I got a closet full of garments over here.
Starting point is 01:23:36 It looks good. You go get whatever you want and wear it at this wedding. So the man in this parable, without the wedding garment, either neglected to request a garment or he refused to accept the garment offered to him. Because when he showed up at the palace, somebody certainly said, hey, sir, you're not dressed for this affair. Come over here. We have clothing for you. So why did he not accept the offer? So the refusal to wear the king's wedding garment rendered the man's conduct inexcusable and worthy of punishment. You're dealing with the king. This isn't Joe the grocer down at the end of the block.
Starting point is 01:24:40 This is the king. And this man's insulting the king. I mean, the king's already been insulted by all the earlier guests. Now this guy shows up, he shows up to the wedding, but he insults the king by wearing his street clothing. You know, it came in in a tie-dyed t-shirt and jeans with holes in the knees and sandals. Or he had his work boots on. He just came out of the field and he's got manure on his boots. Whatever it was, he wasn't supposed to be dressed like that. Right.
Starting point is 01:25:31 No farmer would go to a wedding wearing his work boots with manure on them. That's right. All farmers know, hey, I got to go get washed up. I got to change clothes. I got to wear this suit. I hate wearing this suit, but I got to wear it. Right. Because it was the proper thing to do so the man without a wedding garment willfully insulted the king
Starting point is 01:25:52 yes that's the point he willfully insulted the king by not wearing the required clothing. His choice to wear his own common, ordinary dress from the highways, from the byways, from the hedges, wherever he came from, signifies his rejection of the king's generosity, who offered a beautiful garment. So, and the king made the wedding garment an essential part of the invitation. Oh, yes. I mean, he, obviously, at some point it was clear that you had to have a wedding garment. Well, all invitations to formal affairs tells you what kind of, what the dress code will be. Black tie required, let's say. Or formal attire required. all invitations to formal affairs tells you what kind of what the dress code will be black tie required let's say or formal attire required that's right so what are the what are these
Starting point is 01:26:54 wedding garments then and you know if you get an invitation to an important event and it doesn't tell you the dress code what do you do you? You end up calling somebody associated with the event and go, hey, can you tell me what's the dress code? What am I expected to wear? Now, the behavior of this man mirrors the conduct of hypocrites in the church who refuse to accept the salvation offered by Jesus and instead rely on their own righteousness. That's right. Which is, according to God, filthy rags. Now, this next point is very important. The imagery of the wedding garment is also found in Zephaniah
Starting point is 01:27:49 chapter 1 verses 7 and 8 where those clothed in strange apparel were punished the wedding garment symbolizes more than just a physical garment. It represents the righteousness or holiness necessary for participation in the feast. And so, I'll get to Zephaniah in just a moment. Isaiah 61. Yes, thank you, Rick. Verse 10. You want to read it, Doc, you have in front of you?
Starting point is 01:28:32 I do. I will greatly rejoice in the Lord. This is Isaiah 61.10 for those that are taking notes today. I will greatly rejoice in the Lord. Listen carefully to this. My soul shall be joyful in my God, for he hath clothed me with garments of salvation. He hath covered me
Starting point is 01:28:50 with the robe of righteousness. As a bridegroom, decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride, adorneth herself with her jewels. You have to know when Jesus is relaying the parable of the wedding feast that he is referencing
Starting point is 01:29:08 isaiah 61 10. you have to know that and they had to know that too and so isaiah said i will rejoice in the lord who clothed them the lord did the Lord clothed me with the garments of salvation the Lord covered me with the robe of righteousness revelation 19 verse 8 and to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen clean and white for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. So just as the bride, as a bridegroom and bride, are adorned for the wedding, believers are to be adorned with the righteousness of Christ
Starting point is 01:30:00 for acceptance into the kingdom. And the refusal to wear the wedding garment signifies the person's rejection of the righteousness of Christ and an attempt to rely on their own righteousness yes ultimately leads to the expulsion from From the wedding feast. Yes. So I mentioned Zephaniah chapter 1. Verses 7 and 8. It talks about people wearing strange apparel on the day of the Lord. Notice, on the day of the Lord.
Starting point is 01:30:47 The day of the Lord is any visitation by God to a nation, a city, a person to initiate judgment on sin and rebellion. This is what Zephaniah said. Hold thy peace at the presence of the Lord God, for the day of the Lord is at hand, for the Lord hath prepared a sacrifice. He hath bid his guest. Yes. And it shall come to pass in the day of the Lord's sacrifice that I will punish the princes and the king's children and all such as are clothed with strange apparel. Nakri is the Hebrew word translated as strange. It means foreign, alien.
Starting point is 01:31:32 Counterfeit. And another translation is counterfeit. Counterfeit. And the word is often used in connection with harlots and prostitutes. Yes. Here's the context. In the days of Zephaniah, Yes. Here's the context.
Starting point is 01:31:45 In the days of Zephaniah, God visited Israel to punish their idolatry. One of their sins was being clothed with strange apparel, meaning foreign alien clothing. Why was God enraged about the clothing that they wore because the clothing the strange apparel meaning foreign alien clothing were the cl were the garments from the the foreign countries the heathen pagan countries that they wore to honor various idols. Yes. So when God looked at the Jews and he saw them wearing this foreign outfit, he knew that they were honoring an idol. Yes.
Starting point is 01:32:40 They wore one outfit for one idol and another outfit for another idol. And listen to this. Cross-dressers were also present in Jewish society at that time. Doc, this whole transvestite thing, cross-dressing, it's Jewish. It's Jewish. Folks, this stuff that's going on in America today, it's Jewish. It's Jewish. Folks, this stuff that's going on in America today, it's Jewish. There were cross dressers
Starting point is 01:33:11 in Israel at that time. It is repugnant to God for a man to dress in women's clothing and for women to dress in men's clothing. And modern Jews, that's perfectly okay.
Starting point is 01:33:28 Yes. And so they have brought their idolatry into America. And guess what? For the day of the Lord is at hand. Yes. For the Lord hath prepared a sacrifice.
Starting point is 01:33:44 He hath bid his guest this is mind-boggling what I'm about to share with you God prepared a sacrifice and invited the guests to attend the event the sacrifice But the idolatrous, rebellious Jews did not know that they were the sacrifice. He sacrificed them on an altar of their sin. That is a chilling thought. Outward dress always expresses the inward mind. You can tell what a person's like by the way they dress. A foreign garment represents a mind with foreign thoughts.
Starting point is 01:34:47 We dress according to our nation's ways. Arabs dress like Arabs. Arabs don't dress like Europeans. Arabs don't dress like Africans. Africans don't dress like Arabs. Each nation has its own dress code. And the kingdom of God has a dress code. Let me tell you about the dress code.
Starting point is 01:35:14 Romans 13, verse 14. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ and make not provision for the flesh to fulfill the lust thereof. Ephesians 4.24. And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Ephesians 6.11. Put on the whole armor of God.
Starting point is 01:35:35 1 Peter 5.5. And be clothed with humility. For God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble. Colossians 3, 12. Put on, therefore, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, perseverance. Those are the garments of the kingdom. And if you're not wearing those garments, you're wearing foreign clothing. Verse 12.
Starting point is 01:36:12 I'm over my time, Doc. Yeah, we're good. Okay, we're good. Verse 12. And he, meaning the king, saith unto him, the man in the clothing, Friend, how did you come in here not wearing wedding clothing? And he was speechless. The king called him friend.
Starting point is 01:36:37 Yes. The king was saying, I've treated you with kindness. I treated you as a friend. I invited you into my palace. Dear friend, you see the graciousness of the king. The king didn't go up to him and grab him by the collar and go hey you freak what are you doing in here the king was gracious he went up to the man and with a smile said dear friend I noticed you're not dressed properly. How did you get in here?
Starting point is 01:37:27 That's all the king was asking. How did you get in here? The king at this moment was willing to let this man go change clothing. Yes. willing to let this man go change clothing yes the king's puzzlement was how in the world did you get in here by what means did you enter it implies that this man entered in a manner other than through the proper entrance like there was a main door entrance and everybody went through that door obviously this man found a back door he came in maybe through the service entrance or some other door some other gate but who is the door into the kingdom of god christ is christ and no one can enter except they go through christ so this man entered into the kingdom without going through christ
Starting point is 01:38:37 he entered the wedding feast the celebration of the marriage of the Son of God to humanity. And he entered by a devious means. He found a sneaky way to get in. I'm not standing in line and going through that line and being checked. I'm going around to the back. I bet there's a door open. I can get into the kitchen. So the question suggests a surprise by the king.
Starting point is 01:39:24 Incredulity at this man's lack of appropriate attire. Again, the king is not angry. He's... Not yet. Not yet. He's amazed. He's wondering, where do I have a weak link in my security? You're right.
Starting point is 01:39:40 Man, we've got a stranger who came in without going through the proper security check at the front. You know, this is a king. It means his bodyguards allowed someone to come into the castle. Yes, the secret service was lapsed. Yes, that's what the king is thinking. He's also thinking about this man's audacity to enter into the king's home without appropriate attar. The king is thinking, you're brazen.
Starting point is 01:40:23 And this is when the king started to become angry, when he started to think about how brazen this guy was. First, he's caught off guard. How did you get in here? But then as the king is thinking about it, he's thinking, dude, you're brazen. You're bold. I can't believe you did this as I said we assume that the king had provided wedding robes for everybody who needed one yes so the, indicating that the man was at fault for not having the
Starting point is 01:41:11 necessary garment. It wasn't the king's fault. He provided robes for everybody, right? It was the man's fault for not wearing it. The parable says that the man was rendered speechless he had a complete lack of defense the greek word for speechless means muzzled it's like a hand went over his mouth yes it's like he was gagged it it's more than a an absence of words it wasn't that he was like king give me a moment to think about it i'll tell you the answer no he couldn't open his mouth right he had no excuse his His mouth was frozen. It wasn't that he didn't have words to come out.
Starting point is 01:42:11 His mouth would not open. It was muzzled. He had no defense, no justification for his rude behavior. And he was so shocked by being confronted by the king he couldn't even open his mouth his uh I want to tell a story and I'm looking at my time, so we have about 10 minutes. So, um, I was told this story by a man who knows it's true.
Starting point is 01:42:53 When I was in Jordan, I was told by a friend of the Kings, King Abdullah, that King Abdullah is a practical jokester. He loves to play practical jokes on people. Now think about that. That's cool. I like that.
Starting point is 01:43:12 And this man in Jordan told me this true story. And he knew the man that it happened to. That's why he knows it's true. There was a man invited into King abdullah's palace for a meeting whatever the event was a a luncheon to dinner or something i don't know what it was it was in the palace wasn't at a hotel it was in the palace anyhow when the event was over the king is escorting this gentleman to the door and the king had one of his servants gently insert palace silverware into the man's back pocket of his pants and so the man doesn't know about it they get to the door and one of the palace guards who is in on the joke pulls out the silverware and says this man was stealing the Kings silverware and the king kept a straight face and the man was speechless
Starting point is 01:44:29 they said he was absolutely speechless until the king started laughing and saying hey we put it in your pocket see until you're in a situation like that where you're being confronted by a king who has the authority, the power to execute you. For stealing silverware. Yes. Then you don't know what fear is. That's fear and trembling. That's when you're speechless. That's when your mouth is muzzled.
Starting point is 01:45:02 You know, Rick, that word friend in this verse only occurs four times in the New Testament. Now, there are other words for friend in the New Testament, but this particular word, friend, only occurs four times. And it means, I saw that different commentators tried to brush it off. Well, he didn't really mean friend or anything like that, but it's translated as a comrade, a mate, a business partner. That's what it's really translated as in Greek. It only occurs four times in the New Testament, and each one of those four times, there's the implication of of betrayal of a close business partner or close comrade associate friend okay yes each one of those four times in the New Testament so it's not by it's not by chance that he says this in this particular passage one time in the New Testament, Matthew 26,
Starting point is 01:46:06 it's the betrayal of Judas. And Jesus says unto him, speaking to Judas, Friend, wherefore art thou come? And so there's the implication, this was a close comrade, a close friend that has betrayed
Starting point is 01:46:22 him. If you're in the king's palace, If you're in the king's palace, the king considers you a friend. Yes. And he's honored you by calling you a friend. So verse 13, then said the king to the servants, bind him hand and foot and take him away and cast him into outer darkness there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth so the servants symbolize angels the command to bind him hand and foot is given to prevent this individual from escaping and resisting during the expulsion process. Yes.
Starting point is 01:47:12 Binding him hand and foot emphasizes the completeness of the binding. but not only not only is this man's mouth muzzled but his hands and feet are immobilized and he's unable to resist the arrest the expulsion the banishment yes it it symbolizes the severity of the offense and the inevitability of the punishment. Look, if you get stopped by a state trooper and he issues a fine to you, that's not that serious but if he tells you to get out of the car and he he puts handcuffs on your hands and shackles on your feet you're in trouble serious trouble you're in serious trouble that's what this is handcuffs and shackles he was forcefully removed from the presence of the king and cast out of the wedding feast he was cast into outer darkness a place of utter exclusion and separation from the king and the kingdom a place of despair and anguish.
Starting point is 01:48:48 Complete separation from light and joy. Desolation, despair. Look at the contrast between the brightness of the festival hall and the darkness outside. The wedding feast venue was brightly lit the man dressed in foreign attar was removed and cast into darkness he was expelled from the light and the joy of the feast and thrust into a place where he wept and gnashed his teeth in sorrow and regret, anger and frustration. The gnashing of teeth means the intense suffering. It's painful. It's painful suffering.
Starting point is 01:49:40 And it's a warning to all of the dire consequences awaiting those who are deemed unworthy of participating in the kingdom of God. Verse 14, for many are called, but few are chosen. For many are calm. That phrase emphasizes the widespread nature of the invitation to partake in the blessings of the kingdom. It means that the offer of salvation is extended to a large number of people worldwide, but few are chosen. Despite the broad invitation, only a minority respond positively and ultimately select it and accept it by God to receive entrance into the kingdom.
Starting point is 01:50:43 So that means that not all that supposedly accept the invitation are received doc that's the sobering conclusion of this parable that is the sobering conclusion not everybody first of all you have most people reject the invitation right then you have most people reject the invitation. Right. Then you have another group that responds to the invitation. But even among those who respond to the invitation, not everybody is accepted. That's a tough one.
Starting point is 01:51:18 Oh, that's chilling. chilling being called refers to the general invitation to salvation extended to the whole human race while being chosen implies being selected by god based on genuine faith and obedience and what determines your presence at the wedding the wedding garment the wedding garment are you clothed in god's righteousness the righteousness only he can provide you can't go and rent a tux of righteousness it has to come from the king himself it's a gift of the king there you can't earn it you can't you couldn't afford it the garment he provides it for you and for you to refuse it shows your disrespect and dishonor of the king the garment is so expensive you can't afford it that's right but
Starting point is 01:52:19 he paid for it that's that's what making that's what makes rejecting it an even greater insult. Do you have any idea what I paid for this garment? He paid with his blood. So while many people may profess faith and participate in religious practices, go to church, whatever, only a minority truly belong to the invisible church. The invisible church is in every denomination. But so is the church of the tares. Not everyone who hears the invitation responds to it in a positive
Starting point is 01:53:10 way or fulfills the requirements to be among the chosen yes the chosen are not those who only accept the invitation but they are the ones who live according to its terms and that is a hard one for a lot of people to swallow because it means submission to God's will living according to his rules you know there are things that you might want to do in life and you might think you know I really don't see anything wrong with it but the father says it's wrong yes and if you want to live in his house his rules there's what do you tell your teenagers hey as long as you're in his house? His rules. What do you tell your teenagers? Hey, as long as you're in my house,
Starting point is 01:54:09 it's my rules. Right? You don't want to keep my rules? Leave the house. Go get your own. That's what God is saying to this man. You're in my house. My rules rule. And you've insulted me, and now i'm kicking you out god help us oh my so let's do an earthly analogy the u.s marine corps is always looking for a few good men. Many respond to the call to be a Marine, but few survive boot camp.
Starting point is 01:54:55 Many men in the armed forces want to be a Navy SEAL, but very few survive the first several weeks yes there's a separation there's a winnowing they're just not they don't qualify so there's this comparison between the calling to salvation and the mustering of soldiers. That's right. And why does he have such high demands? Why does he have such a high demand for excellence? Because we're in a war. We're in a battle.
Starting point is 01:55:35 That's what it's all about. I mean, we are in a fight for our eternal lives. lives so an army may send out a notice to all young men show up you've been drafted all are called but only those found suitable are chosen to wear the uniform. But you're called up. So there's selectivity of God's choice in determining who will ultimately dwell with him in glory. He's choosing who he wants to live with. So just as guests were expected to wear the appropriate attire at the wedding feast,
Starting point is 01:56:26 believers must possess the character and the disposition required for fellowship with God. We see the same principle in Matthew 20, verse 16. So the last shall be first and the first last, for many be called but few chosen. So those who respond to the invitation but are morally disqualified are represented by this man without the wedding garment. And they face punishment in Gehenna. The man without the wedding garment
Starting point is 01:57:03 represents self-professing Christians who still cling to their old self, will not give up the old man, will not put on the garments of righteousness. so sitting down at a marriage feast or sitting in a pew at a church does not guarantee eternal life oh as i close up here i want to point out a couple things here doc and there's a progression in these parables yes in the obligations violated in the guilt incurred in the penalties exacted in the duration of the offenses yes in the parable the two sons a violation of respect and honor due to the father. It was a rejection of a loving father's request.
Starting point is 01:58:11 In the parable of the wicked husband. These guys committed murder. To escape a legal debt. In the marriage feast. They insulted the king so the penalties go from disapproval to destruction to total annihilation
Starting point is 01:58:36 right and the closer we get to the cross the more intense the parallels become yes I'm going to wrap it up I'm six and a half minutes over time The closer we get to the cross, the more intense the parables become. Yes. Okay. I'm going to wrap it up. I'm six and a half minutes over time.
