Glad to have you here with us for the live edition of morning Manna. This is a ministry of faith and values fellowship and we're church and we appreciate you being a part of this fellowship on a daily basis. We're continuing our study today on Proverbs chapter six. And we're going to pick back up on verse 12 today here. So if you read along with me, I'm reading from the King James verse 12, a naughty person, a wicked man walketh with a forward mount. He winketh with his eyes. He speaketh with his feet, he teacheth with his fingers. Forwardness is in his heart. He deviseth mischief continually. He soweth discord.
Starting point is 00:02:35 Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly. Suddenly shall he be broken, and that without remedy." God bless the reading of his word today. Okay, doc, this is your opportunity to shine because these verses have a lot of body language in it. Oh, yes. Secretive body language. secretive body language. And what the Bible is telling us, what the Spirit of God is telling us is, pay attention to body language. Wisdom says, discern the body language of people. They talk with their body. So, we start with verse 12,
Starting point is 00:03:30 a worthless person, a wicked man, walketh with a foward mouth. World English Bible is a worthless person, a man of iniquity Walks with a perverse mouth and the king james says a naughty person Okay doc I kept getting that and And some king james uh you know online versions said you know, online versions said worthless, and then others said naughty. So what is the official authorized King James word?
Starting point is 00:04:13 Well, which version did Jesus use? No, I'm just kidding. The Anglican Church version. I think on some of the new King James, they've updated the language just a bit there, but we get the general idea that it's a worthless person and like a scoundrel, you know. The actual root word here, belial, adon belial here, belial is later on used in some of the minor prophets as another word for Satan. And also, Paul used that word belial too in Corinthians. The literal term for a worthless person is a man of Baal. I checked the pronunciation. I've always said it the way you did, but officially what I learned was it's it's Belial. Oh okay.
Starting point is 00:05:22 But I always said it the way you said it. Hebrew is a dead language anyway, so. But I learned it from you. So I was, you know, no, no, I always say I always pronounce it Belial, Belial. But officially, according to the experts, it's Belial. Okay, enough of that. So, a man of Belial is a wicked, lawless individual. When we say worthless, the connotification of evil. You look at somebody, that's the devil himself. It's speaking about an individual whose character is fundamentally flawed,
Starting point is 00:06:23 marked by moral depravity. We're not talking about occasional missteps. Occasional mistakes. These are people that are like I said, they're just corrupt to the bone. Their thoughts are corrupt. Their words are corrupt. their actions are corrupt, their motives are corrupt. In other words, this is a person who is not to be trusted. Correct.
Starting point is 00:07:00 It's a person who is not just what we would say mischievous, but a person who is genuinely evil. And they demonstrate deep seated wickedness that permeates their entire being. So like I said, it's not a person who makes an occasional mistake. So like I said, it's not a person who makes an occasional mistake. It's a person whose actions spring from a corrupt heart, a heart that is inclined. The default mode of that heart is evil.
Starting point is 00:07:42 Yes. You know, what would be out of character for them is to do something good. There you go. Yeah, that's a good way to describe it, Rick. This is a child of the devil. Right. The exception to the rule would be they occasionally do something good. They're just by default set on evil. The exception to the rule would be they occasionally do something good. They're just by default set on evil. But when we say evil, we're not talking about Freddy Krueger.
Starting point is 00:08:32 We're talking about people that can be highly educated, well-refined, on the surface, they appear to be very successful, they have authority, they have positions of influence, but their hearts are evil. We see the surface of people, but God sees hearts. What the Proverbs is teaching us is, discern the hearts. Their essence is defined by their iniquity. Their iniquity is a pattern of deviation from God's righteousness. Again, it's their default mode. They are continuously practicing sin.
Starting point is 00:09:22 It's not like a basically moral good person momentarily falls and commits a sin and immediately repents and gets back in the right fellowship of God. That's not what we're talking about. We're talking about a person that continuously is in sin. That would be a person who would repent to Satan for doing something good. Yes, there you go, that flips it around. Yes. So their identity is bound up in their immorality, their character flaws, their immorality, their character flaws, their state of alienation from the Lord, their opposition to the divine plan. If there's anything I hope you get out of our Bible studies, it's that there is a divine
Starting point is 00:10:22 plan. Amen. And it comes from a perfect God. And that perfect God is your heavenly father. And he has only thoughts of good things for you. And he has good things in his perfect plan for you. And the way that we His perfect plan for you.
Starting point is 00:10:44 And the way that we receive the promises of that perfect plan for us individually is to align our lives, our thinking, our speaking, our actions, our will to align all of our being with that perfect plan, which is the will of God. If you can get that, then Doc and I, we've done our job. Because I want to say that's overall, in these several years we've been teaching morning manna, that's the lesson I have received. man it. That's the lesson I have received. I always knew God had a perfect will, but wow, am I learning how perfect it is? Yes.
Starting point is 00:11:34 It's beyond perfect. Isn't that the truth? His will, his way is perfect. It's beyond perfect. It's divine. And the book of Proverbs is saying, smart people get alignment with this divine plan. And fools are in opposition to it. So this verse, as we open up with verse 12, it's a warning against the dangers of allowing sin to take root in your heart, in your mind, because if you don't deal with it, it will eventually lead to your spiritual ruin. Again, the severity of the language used in these verses underscores that their wickedness is not superficial, not surface level, but it penetrates to the very core of who and what they are.
Starting point is 00:12:50 It spills out. It overflows from them. It influences all of their inward condition, which is rebellion against God. It is moral bankruptcy. It is, these are people who embrace foolishness as a way of life. These are people who consistently choose darkness over light,
Starting point is 00:13:29 who consistently do evil instead of doing good. These are people that live with no regard for God's purposes and principles. Then the second part, walketh with a froword mouth. Modern English walks with a perverse mouth. You know, and I've said this before, for many years, and I had not done a word study, I'm just talking about many years ago as a Christian. When I read foward, I just thought, oh, foul mouth. These are vulgar, foul mouth people. No, a foward mouth can be a person who has never said a vulgar four-letter word. Right.
Starting point is 00:14:21 That's not what makes them foward. That's not what… Yeah forward. That's not what... Yeah, go ahead, Doc. Now, it's not that their mouth is twisted up in a pretzel or that they're cussing all the time, like Yosemite Sam or something along that line. But the words themselves... But you get close to it, Doc. You get really close to it. Right. You said their mouth is not...
Starting point is 00:14:44 Maybe not physically twisted, but their words are. You got really close to it. Right. You said their mouth is not... Maybe not physically twisted, but their words are. Their words are twisted. Froward, perverse means twisted language. So think pretzels, you got it. Next time you read or hear foward or perverse, just think somebody with a pretzel mouth. See, now you have a word picture. Why walk with. They walk, who walks with their twisted mouth. Now picture somebody, their lips are on their feet. They're moving, their lips are carrying them, or they're walking on their face.
Starting point is 00:16:00 I'll flip it around like that. They're upside down, they're walking on their face. Their lips are carrying them. Their twisted lips are carrying them through life. The way I picture it, Rick, is their lies and perversity of their lips, that's what's leading them. Yes. That's what it means. That's what's leading them. Not their feet, not their mind, not their heart, but their perverse lips. Yes. That's what it means. That's what's leading them. Not their feet, not their mind, not their heart, but their perverse lips.
Starting point is 00:16:27 Yes, that's right. You got it, Doc. That's exactly what it is. They're transported through life with twisted lips, twisted, distorted words that are deliberately contrary to truth and spoken often for the purpose of the purpose of the truth. words that are deliberately contrary to truth and spoken often for the purpose of misleading or harming somebody else.
Starting point is 00:16:55 Their words are not just inaccurate, but intentionally deceptive. Right. Their words are designed to cause trouble, to sow discord and division, to deceive, to spread falsehoods, to slander. A slanderer is a person with a foward mouth. A gossiper has a foward mouth. A gossiper has a foward mouth. How many people, anybody check out yet?
Starting point is 00:17:32 Oh, they're still here, Rick. Okay, all right. All right. I didn't know if we lost 40 or 50 people. Okay. You just think about it the next time. I'm not going to say you're gossiping because I don't think you do. But the next time you're in the presence of a gossiper or slander, you just think, oh, pretzel mouth. All right. Speaking twisted, distorted words. Okay, about somebody else destroying their character.
Starting point is 00:18:11 I try to the best of my ability, God help me. I try not to even speak negative truth about bad people. You can know things about bad people, things that are true, but they're not nice. I try not to even speak about those things. Just train your mouth to say good things. Just say good things. And, you know, just let the Lord deal with them, okay? But a person with a forward mouth, a twisted mouth, uses their mouth, their words to manipulate.
Starting point is 00:19:15 Yes. Manipulate the truth. Well, once truth has been manipulated, it's no longer truth. They're using the words to manipulate other people, to deceive them, again to spread falsehoods, to deceive people to believe something and do something that they would not believe in or do if they knew the truth. That's the deception's intention to manipulate.
Starting point is 00:19:57 You're being deceived in order to manipulate your mind, your thinking, your words. Somebody is manipulating your thoughts. Trying to pervert your thoughts. Yes. Because perversion doesn't stand alone. Perversion has to pervert other things. Yes. Narcissists are prime practitioners of perverse speech, especially malignant narcissists, where they are intentionally, deliberately lying about somebody to destroy that person's reputation they are reputation assassins
Starting point is 00:20:50 and they know what they're doing they intentionally do it reputation assassins yes the reputation assassins and they don't do it just by blurting out something and then thinking later. I wish I had never said that Because see if you say I wish I never said that that's that's evidence. You got a conscience So the the narcissist thinks I wish I'd said more The narcissist especially the malignant, is intentionally destroying other people's reputation. They find a victim. They find a person that they're going to suck a life out of them.
Starting point is 00:21:37 And then they go to other people and they suck the life out of that victim. When you are lying about someone, when you are slandering somebody, when you are… Even when you're telling the truth about somebody that doesn't need to be told, you're doing it with a malicious intention. The reason you're telling it to somebody is for the purpose of hurting that other person Yes, yeah That's right. We get real about it. That's that's in your heart you desire to hurt that other person That's the only reason you're telling things to somebody else about another party for the purpose of hurting that person. These people, really this, I see narcissism all through these verses.
Starting point is 00:22:36 Double talk. Yes. Speaking insincerely. Speaking flattering words, slandering to achieve a concealed purpose. That the hearers of the twisted words don't know what the speaker is trying to do. don't know what the speaker is trying to do. But the speaker who is evil, who is wicked, has an agenda. And often they are skilled in these ways of putting a knife in somebody's heart.
Starting point is 00:23:23 Right. And you know, we're talking about personal relationships here. And so this warning is not only warning, let's watch our own lips, but now the scripture is giving us guidelines to be discerning of others. I've often heard it said, oh, we don't judge people.
Starting point is 00:23:40 You absolutely have to judge. The Bible says, he that is spiritual judges all things. And we need to judge the lips of others for deception, for double-speak, for everything else, and not just in discernment in personal relationships, but in what we consider, I would guess, propaganda, general cultural or media propaganda. This verse fits that too. Oh yeah. We, we, we are living in the age of propaganda, a perverse lips. And they're paid millions of dollars to be perverse.
Starting point is 00:24:17 Yes. And we're paying them tens of millions of dollars. And yet people are going to sit in front of TVs today and watch men and women paid tens of millions of dollars to speak with perverse lips and influence your thinking. And why are they paid tens of millions of dollars? Because they're popular, no, because they're effective. They're good at it, that's why.
Starting point is 00:24:44 It's not because they're popular. They're good at it, that's why. It's not because they're popular. They're paid tens of millions of dollars because they excel in deception. And love it. So, a perverse mouth is a person that's constantly inclined to speak what is wrong, what is unjust, what is offensive, cunning lies. Think about this, cunning lies.
Starting point is 00:25:20 So as Doc was saying, the Proverbs are telling us not only guard your own words, but be on guard for the deceptive words of others. These verses are telling us, you know, the first five chapters of Proverbs, us, or you know, the first five chapters of Proverbs, they were telling us individually, live right, speak right, do right, okay, now it's telling us, now watch out, there are others out there who don't obey the Word of God. And here are some tips on how to discern them. So the perverse mouth, cunning lies, malicious gossip, divisive rhetoric, designed to tear down rather than build up. rather than build up. As I said, it's a common trait of narcissists.
Starting point is 00:26:29 In particular, malignant narcissists, which is the worst of all narcissists. They know what they are doing and God is going to hold them accountable. Amen. Your doc said about judging people. He's absolutely right. When Jesus said, do not judge others, that wasn't talking about don't discern the ways of others. Jesus meant was do not take the place of God in deciding the eternal destiny of a soul. That's right. You don't know if that person is going to be saved or lost. You don't know.
Starting point is 00:27:18 So don't go there. That's God's job. Not yours. Right. But it is your job to be discerning of the individuals in the world around you. We don't have to be gullible. We don't have to be ignorant of Satan's devices, and he basically uses people. Yes.
Starting point is 00:27:38 Okay? So we need to be discerning of people. We need to be aware that there are people with perverse lips out there that have if you will malignant desires in their life. They desire to influence you and change you and bring you into their perversity. That's right. Judging people is when somebody says, you know, somebody dies and somebody says, well, I'll tell you what, flames of hell got red hot when that old boy showed up. You don't know. You don't know. You don't know. And when you say things like that, you just judged. And you can also, the flip side say, well the harps
Starting point is 00:28:29 in heaven are playing beautiful music now that she's there. You don't know. You don't know. You just don't know. Just leave it alone. We'll find out on judgment day. On judgment day, we're going to be looking at someone and say, how did you get here? They're going to say, how did you get here? Then we're going to be saying, where's so-and-so? They're not here. I thought for sure they'd be here. Just leave it alone. Just get yourself there.
Starting point is 00:29:08 Don't you worry about me. Don't worry about me. Don't judge me. And I'm not going to judge you. You just get yourself there. I'm working to get myself there. Okay, you get yourself there. And if you're in this class you you are
Starting point is 00:29:28 You are in Maybe one to two percent of Christians it what two billion Christians in the world do you like in the one or two percent who would actually spend an hour? Five days a week studying the Word of God so you you're in really good shape. But this is telling us that speech is an indication of the inner, the condition of the inner soul. Walking, they're walking with a perverse mouth, It's, again, their corrupt speech is a lifestyle. It's a habit.
Starting point is 00:30:12 It's not an occasional lapse. It's what's carrying them through life. Perverse speech is transporting them through life. Now we get to verse 13. He winketh with his eyes, he speaketh with his feet, he pointeth with his fingers. World English Bible, he winks with his eyes, he signals with his feet, He points with his fingers. Oh, don't get, don't get carried away with this, okay? If I'm in a group of people and somebody has a grin on their face and winks at somebody,
Starting point is 00:31:03 I'm like, okay, I know, they're about to play a joke on me. Because that wink is saying, watch this, watch what I'm going to okay, I know they're about to play a joke on me. Because that wink is saying, watch this, what's what I'm going to do to Rick. All right. That's joking. It's you know, that's not what this is talking about. But it is a signal, isn't it? Yes. That's the message I want you to get. Even when it's done in jest, when it's done in fun, it's a signal. If I was going to play a practical joke on Doc, and I'm leading him on, I'm like, he's going to fall for this, you know, and I look at over two or three other guys there in the room and I wink, what am I telling them he doesn't have a clue what I'm about to do to him this is gonna be funny okay but
Starting point is 00:31:51 what this is talking about this is not talking about joking around having fun this is talking about malicious intent to hurt somebody. Right. So verse 13 introduces three subtle nonverbal communication methods of the wicked person. Here's the body language. These These three techniques, these three methods, speak of their deceptive, conniving nature. He winks with his eye. He signals with his feet. I can't get my feet up this high to the camera. I might be able to get them up, but I won't be able to get him back down. So and he points with his fingers. These three displays of body language solidifies the wicked person's manipulative, deceptive
Starting point is 00:33:01 behavior. So let's start with the first one, the first nonverbal behavior. So Doc is the expert here in body language. He winks with his eyes. What is this, Doc? Well, when you're, many cultures use eyes for communication. So, I'll take my glasses off here, just a second, just to show you how much can be said with just the eyes. So I'm just sitting here, but I raise my eyebrow like this. What am I communicating?
Starting point is 00:33:35 What message am I sending? Or if I do like this, what message am I trying to communicate? The wicked person, though, uses eye language to manipulate. They will maybe express one type of eye language, but actually they mean another. That's willful deception with the eyes. I believe that's what the author here
Starting point is 00:34:00 is trying to get across here in verse 13, winking with his eyes. It's that malicious intent to deceive, to lead someone on. The corrupt salesman uses his eyes to reel people in, to generate trust, not the genuine salesperson, they'll be truthful. But the wicked one seeks to lure. bit, they'll be truthful. But the wicked one seeks to lure. You know, there's a reason why prostitutes, you know, use makeup on their eyes. They want you to focus on their eyes and because the eyes can lie. So there is so much to be said about eye language. It just communicates so much. A husband and wife, if they've been together long enough,
Starting point is 00:34:49 all they have to do is look across a room in each other and communicate volumes. But the deceiver will use that same eye language to send a message, but means something completely different. That's right. So what you're saying is the wink is a secret signal. Yes. It is a form of clandestine communication that allows the wicked person to convey a message to others in the room without speaking words for the purpose of either deception or mockery. Or manipulation. Yes.
Starting point is 00:35:34 Manipulation. Yes. So, it's a sly knowing glance. the the the the the the the not at the victim. Yes, that's the wink is directed to an accomplice in the room, not at the victim.
Starting point is 00:36:11 The wink signals to the accomplice. I have a secret plan. I have a hidden agenda. Let's play along with me. It's conspiratorial. does play along with me. It's conspiratorial. The wicked person is... Go ahead. It's sending a message to a conspirator, yes. Yes, it's sending the message. The wicked person is operating with a hidden understanding a plot that the victim, the intended victim, the prey, does not know, is not aware of. person reveals a wicked heart that's cunning. The wink can also, again, the wink is always to, not to the intended victim, it's to others, but the wink can also express scorn. Right. Mockery. In other words, let's say if we're in a room with people
Starting point is 00:37:31 and Doc is talking and I look over at somebody and wink and what I'm saying is he's such an idiot. Right? And they wink back, oh yeah, you're right. All right, so there's no plot to do something to him. It's just the damage that's being done is that I'm attacking his character, his self-worth. I'm using the wink to slander him. It's a slanderous wink. But there are also winks that are a signal, I'm going in for the kill. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:08 The wink of a wicked person is a signal to his friends, the accomplices, don't interfere. This person is weak. I'm going to take him down. This woman's an easy prey. We're going to get her money. Right. But as believers… Don't disturb. Don't interfere in my plan. We're going to clean him out. Right. But now as believers, we're being made aware of this, that the wicked speak with their eyes to one another. They conspire together with their eyes. What does that teach us?
Starting point is 00:38:49 That teach that we need to watch the eyes of people when we're communicating with them. Look around the room when people are talking, just observe, just see where their eyes go to, where, you know, what things they say. Do their words match their eye language? And so there's a lot to be learned here just by observing, just by watching people. Most people don't. I have witnessed it in business meetings.
Starting point is 00:39:29 And you know, the difficult thing is you got to keep a poker face. You got to continue to look stupid. Because see, they're saying they're signaling to somebody saying he don't have a clue. He's so dumb. Just watch what I do to him. I'm gonna get him to commit to this, what, to make a hastily declared verbal commitment to a financial obligation that we studied in previous chapters.
Starting point is 00:40:01 Isn't that what, and finance, that's what they're doing. I'm gonna to move this guy down the road that he's going to say something. He's going to commit to with his mouth. He's going to make a financial commitment. And they wink to their partners. And what you got to do is you got to you got to keep the poker face and act like you didn't see the wink. Yes. But inside, you're going, oh, these guys are working me.
Starting point is 00:40:30 I got to get out of this meeting. I can't trust these people. They're not my friends. These are vultures. So the wink is a signal to the accomplices where the So the wink is a signal to the accomplices where the person with the plan is saying, hey, I've got him in my sights. Don't do anything to tip him off. Don't alert him. She'll run away if she knows what we're doing. That's what the wink is about. Just, hey, Hey, cool.
Starting point is 00:41:05 Cool. We're going in. We're going in for the kill. They're going to sign the document. Right. But these winks reveal the cunning nature of the people that do it. Again, even in the in the positive side of when I say positive, what I said at the beginning, you're just joking around, playing a practical joke on someone.
Starting point is 00:41:37 You have no harm. There's no harm intended. You're just going to have some fun, but you're still signaling to others hey watch what I'm going to do don't fall for this this is a joke okay get ready you're going to laugh but there is an intended victim the person who's going to believe it I'm going to say I fall for every practical joke my son plays on me. He's deadpan. Oh, he is. I mean, he doesn't wink with his eyes.
Starting point is 00:42:19 That's how he can do it. I fall for everyone and then laugh at it it but you know like he got me again. He got me again. I don't have time to tell a story. I heard a great story when I was in Jordan. King Abdullah is known to be a prankster. Okay? That's what I was told by somebody who knows him, that he's a prankster. All right?
Starting point is 00:42:57 And he can get away with it because he's the king. And so he uses that position to law a victim of his pranks into a state of believing everything he's saying. But he's, one story I heard was that he had a visitor in the palace, and he had somebody on his staff who was very, very sly in how they could place things on people. He had… no I know what he did, he had the palace silverware put in this guy's suit and his jacket, like when you took the jacket and hung it up. The king had somebody in the palace put some palace silverware inside, in a pocket. And when the guest was leaving, the King pretended he found the silverware in this guy's jacket.
Starting point is 00:44:17 And the guy just, the person told me the story, he said, the victim of this prank was just about ready to pass out, you know, because he's thinking I'm going to be accused of stealing the King's fork and knife, you know? And then the King broke out in laughter. Okay. Let him know. I'm it's a joke. We, we put it there. Okay.
Starting point is 00:44:42 But for a moment, you're, you might be standing there thinking, I'm going to spend the rest of my life in a Jordanian dungeon. Yeah. For stealing a fork or a fork. But you see, if the king was winking at other people in a room, he's letting them know this is all Joe. Get ready to laugh. Okay. It's good. Just good natured fun. But what we're talking about here is somebody who has the intent to hurt you, to steal from you, to deceive you. That their intention is not good. They're using subterfuge.
Starting point is 00:45:17 They are skilled, practicing deceit, a mind that constantly is scheming and working, developing fraudulent schemes, skilled at silent communication. And who picks up, who receives these silent messages? Other wicked people? Right. They pick up, oh, yeah, I get it. I see what you're doing. Or discerning saints. Discerning saints can pick it up too. Yes, but I'm talking about the other wicked. They're like, yeah, I'm in on this.
Starting point is 00:46:03 So then he's speaking with his feet. the wicked, the other wicked, they're like, yeah, I'm in on this. So then he speak with his feet. This is a good one. So he travels on his lips and with his perverse mouth, his perverse twisted mouth is carrying him through life. Now he speaks. Through his feet. What is this? Your feet have a language. Your feet have a language. And that this is one of the greatest
Starting point is 00:46:36 body language giveaways for folks. So you're going to get a you're going to get a lesson in body language today. Okay. Observe people and their feet how their feet are positioned when they're talking to get a lesson in body language today. Observe people and their feet, how their feet are positioned when they're talking to you. If they're standing there and their feet are kind of like at a 45 degree angle, they're open to the conversation, they're engaged, they're interested in what you have to say. If they're pointed directly at you, that's intense focus and concentration. That means they are intent on listening, gathering your information, whatever it might be. But watch if their feet turn in a different direction while speaking to you. If their feet are pointed in another direction, pointing away, especially if they're pointing
Starting point is 00:47:23 toward an exit, That's a clear signal that they want out of the conversation there and they're looking for the door. There are other body, there are other feet language cues too, like tapping feet. You ever see people tapping one of their feet? That's a, you know, that's a signal that they're nervous, they don't like the conversation that they're in. If you see somebody going back and forth on their feet, that's usually a decision cue that they're trying to decide, do I want to continue with this conversation or am I going to try to get out of this? But it's amazing what your feet say. They speak with their feet.
Starting point is 00:48:08 Yes. Now, members of secret societies like the Masons speak with their feet. Yes. I've been told by, I'll just say, people that have far more knowledge about masonry than me, I'm not a member, I've never had them. But I've been told by ex-masons that masons signal to other masons that they are a mason by how they stand.
Starting point is 00:48:43 How they position their feet. They can walk into a building and take a stand. And the way that they stand, the way they position their feet, the way that they hold their arms, they're telling other Masons, I'm a fraternal brother. Right. And one way they do that, Rick, is with the left foot. They'll make the left foot prominent
Starting point is 00:49:09 in a conversation or in a meeting. It's different when you're just standing there, you're not thinking, well, I've got my right foot here, my left foot here, you're just standing there. But there's an intention on the part of Freemasons put that left foot out there. But there's an intention on the part of Freemasons to put that left foot out there. That signals that the left always is signifying of deceit and twistedness and
Starting point is 00:49:37 you know things along that line. And so it's sending a separate cue, its language. Nonetheless, you'll also see Masons in some of their ceremonies, the few videos that are out there, they'll take off their left shoe and use that as a pledge. And so it's, it's fascinating that these secret societies use the feet to express oaths, pledges, and a whole lot more. But they're doing it on purpose. They have a purpose to it. It's not just, oh, what do you know? I got my left foot out there.
Starting point is 00:50:18 OK, so if John Mark can verify this, if he's still here with us. So I was told that in Arab culture, you never show the souls of your shoes, all right, that that is a direct insult. So Western men, it's common for Western men to cross their legs, put one leg on top of the other leg. In Arab culture, what you're saying is something I can't say in this class. It's extremely obscene. And so you're telling somebody by the way you move your feet,
Starting point is 00:51:14 this is what I think of you. Okay. So the scripture is telling us these wicked people speak with their feet. Yes. And the first thing that came to my mind was secret societies. Yeah. Secret societies have been around for thousands of years. There are secret societies that don't even exist anymore.
Starting point is 00:51:41 We, you know, they're gone, but they've been around for a long time. Or you think they're gone. Well, you think that they're gone. They're so secretive. You don't even know that they're here. That's the really, that's those are the secret societies you got to watch out for the ones you don't even know that exist. They're so secretive. Okay. So they speak with their feet. It's subtle movements, gestures with their feet to signal to somebody else in the room to prompt them to communicate a message to an accomplice. Agreed upon signs where, let's just say, some corrupt business people, they've perfected their corruption and they have signals. And you know, the boss says, hey, if I put my feet like this, that means do this.
Starting point is 00:52:42 And they're in a business, meaning they're watching this. They're watching the balls. Okay, he just gave us a signal. So the average person doesn't even think this goes on, doesn't know about it. That's good because you're not evil. Right. But there's an evil world.
Starting point is 00:53:01 That's what Proverbs is telling us about. There is an evil world. That's what Proverbs is telling us about. There is an evil world. And you got to watch out for more than just the, you know, the foreign woman. You got to watch out for the evil man that winks, signals with his feet, who conveys agreement with a deceitful plan, where they have to signal with their hands and their feet because they can't speak the words. The words would hold them accountable. If you said, well I heard what you said, well yeah, now you got witnesses. But are you going to go into court and say, well, I heard what you said. Well, yeah, now you got witnesses, but are you going to go into court and say, well, I saw how I moved his feet. What jury's going to believe that story?
Starting point is 00:53:56 No, nobody, but it's a signal to you. Right. It's like a red light. Yeah. I get the way to interpret a lot of body language, you got to be careful because it's not hard and fast. It's more like a warning light on a dashboard. It may not, you know, your car may not be on the verge of collapse, but the warning light is pay attention something's going on.
Starting point is 00:54:20 Yes. And so all of these, yeah, all these things are like warning lights on a dashboard. It means have your discernment at the highest level possible because sometimes cultural differences in body language can impact the conversation. We can misinterpret body language or facial expressions and everything based on culture. So you have to keep some reserve there. But at the same time, people speak with their eyes.
Starting point is 00:54:54 They speak with their feet. It's a general cultural thing that just you know, it just being human. So, yes. The other one is very interesting, teaching with the fingers. Yes, the Proverbs is teaching us to be aware that there are people who engage in criminal or immoral activities that require secrecy. And they communicate with others through these secret signals. That's what it's teaching us. Be alert, watch your surroundings, pay attention to the people around you. Be alert. Yes.
Starting point is 00:55:48 Interestingly, again, I'm going to I hope I'm correct on this that at least in ancient Arab culture, to signal with your feet means one who scrapes
Starting point is 00:56:04 his feet, draws them backwards and forwards on the ground. That's the original meaning of this, Doc. They move their foot back and forth, like you're making a, you know, a line in the dust. You've taken your foot back and forth. You move your feet. You're sending a line in the dust. You've taken your foot back and forth. You move your feet. You're sending a signal. That's the original meaning.
Starting point is 00:56:32 That's what I, according to what I've studied. It's telling us that wicked people are very resourceful in their deceit, and that they use all, they use, they use parts of their body to communicate devious plans. And we're being told, be wise. Wise people are aware of these things. And knowing these things will help you prevent being pulled into making a decision that could cost you dearly.
Starting point is 00:57:25 Because the people who are doing this, they've got a motive. The third one is, he pointeth with his fingers. So doc, this one, this is another secret sign to direct attention, sign to direct attention, to indicate the object of their malicious intent. If I'm kind of just moving and I kind of point over to someone casually, okay, and just doing this, you know, others in the room who know I'm up to something would say, oh, he keeps pointing at so and so.
Starting point is 00:58:11 He's sending us the signal. That's the one right there. But you're doing it casually. He pointed with his fingers. He makes subtle gestures towards a person. It makes subtle gestures towards a person. It could be either for financial gain or it could be for mockery, it could be for slander, but you're making these subtle gestures with your fingers and you're pointing towards somebody. So you've got the gestures with the fingers, you've got the wink, you've got the movement of the feet.
Starting point is 00:58:56 So you've got a cohesive pattern of secretive malicious communication. Right. Any one of these things by themselves might be misinterpreted, but taken together as a package reveals the wicked intent of the heart. That's right. Okay. It'd be like several red lights going off in the dashboard at the same time.
Starting point is 00:59:17 One red light, I'll check on it when I get to that. See, if you had three red lights going off on your dashboard, you'd be going, I better call AAA right now and deal with this. So usually these body language cues come in groups, and so there are multiple things to be watching for in people's body language. The wicked though, you know, you have to be very careful because the wicked are deceptive and they're aware that they're communicating with body language.
Starting point is 00:59:50 And so- Yes, they're doing it intentionally. That's right. Yeah, they're hiding it from the victim, but they know that they are intentionally being deceptive. I'm gonna try to quickly get to 14 and 15 because this is all one set. 14, fowardness is in his heart,
Starting point is 01:00:11 he deviseth mischief continually, he soweth discord. Modern English, perverseness is in his heart. He devises mischief continually, he sows discord. So now this verse, 14, this gets to the core issue. Amen. The source of the wicked person's actions is his corrupt inner being, a heart that's filled with spiritual moral distortion.
Starting point is 01:00:43 Extremely selfish person, self-centered. That's at the heart of this selfishness. A person that cheats somebody else that truly is a selfish greedy person. I said, I don't have any, my conscience doesn't bother me at all. In fact, the way they rationalize it is that victim, his or her naive attitude, that's their fault that I took their money. That's right. They allowed me to take it. In the real world.
Starting point is 01:01:24 I can't help it if they're stupid. Right, that's their attitude. They're just easy, low-hanging fruit. Perverseness, again, forwardness. It's the stubborn inclination to resist what is good, what is right, what is moral. It's a deliberate turning away from divine wisdom. So we've covered this about forwardness, perverseness is in his heart.
Starting point is 01:02:02 We've covered this. He deviseth mischief continually. Again, it's speaking of the person whose heart is just thoroughly corrupt. It would be unusual for them to think good. They just consistently generate evil schemes, malicious plots. He soweth discord. This is to deliberately introduce and spread disagreements, contention, strife, animosity, among other people. I mean, they're tossing a grenade into a group.
Starting point is 01:02:56 They know it's gonna blow up, people are gonna get hurt. They're sowing discord, they're speaking words to a group of people for the purpose of causing a fight. Sometimes it's not that they speak corporately to a group, but they speak to an individual member of a group with the hope that that person will carry the seed of the poison back to the group. That's right.
Starting point is 01:03:29 That's... And then the poison spreads. Pest control. What are they... I'm trying to think of an insect where the insect is carrying the poison back to the nest to kill the colony. Oh, termites. That's a great example there.
Starting point is 01:03:53 Yeah. Is that what it is? So they don't eat it when they find it. They carry it back to the nest and eat it and then everybody dies That's what these wicked people are doing here take this back to the colony and eat it and Let the poison move throughout the group Satan uses this technique all the time
Starting point is 01:04:27 to create contention and strife. If you run an organization, you cannot allow contentious people to be in your organization. They will destroy it. End of discussion. Eventually, they will destroy it. It may be suddenly or it may be a slow death. One by one, good people quit. Why? Because the contentious spirit attitude in the organization, and they just get tired of it. Or the other aim is cause a blow up, cause the organization to implode.
Starting point is 01:05:13 But the malicious person had the evil intent, I'm going to bring this down. So the goal is to break down relationships and destroy harmony. And so they use their words, verbal words, and nonverbal body language and subtle manipulations to create division, rifts, incite arguments, turn people against each other. It's the work of the devil. Sowing discord, especially in a church or a ministry, is a grave sin. It's worse than a lot of other sins. It's in the list that things God hates.
Starting point is 01:06:12 He doesn't like any sins, but there's some that he hates. And sowing discord among the brethren is on that list. brethren is on that list. People that divide ministries and churches, they better repent. That's all I'm going to say. Bad. All right. Not going to be good for you. These people that plant destructive seeds, again, they're malicious. They know what they're doing. Yes, they seek to divide. They seek to sow discord. They know what they're doing. Alright, I'm going to get to verse 15. I'm already 10 minutes over. Therefore, here's the punch.
Starting point is 01:07:00 Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly. Suddenly shall he be broken without remedy Suddenly is not immediately You got to get that right it does not say Therefore shall his calamity come immediately immediately shall he be broken without remedy. That's not what it says it says when the Calamity comes it comes suddenly It could be ten years from now
Starting point is 01:07:36 A person that's sowing discord today May not meet their calamity for another decade, but when it comes, it comes suddenly. And there's no warning. That's the message here. People that live this way, one day, suddenly, you're going to say, well, what happened to Bill? I heard he died yesterday oh
Starting point is 01:08:05 yeah he had a sudden heart attack oh yeah she she had a stroke massive stroke she was just sitting there talking yeah slandering how many people have had strokes while they're slandering. So there's a swift unexpected judgment that will befall the wicked person. Therefore, take this to the bank. Therefore, that means there will be a consequence. Why? God said it. What will be the consequence?
Starting point is 01:08:53 There will be a calamity. A calamity, not an accident. A calamity is a devastating disaster. It is ruined. It is a devastating disaster. It is ruined, it is severe misfortune, and it overtakes the wicked. It comes suddenly, unexpected. It doesn't just sneak up on them, but it comes swiftly, unannounced.
Starting point is 01:09:29 Not immediately. Why doesn't it come immediately? God gives them time to repent. Yes. That's extension of His mercy and grace. Yes. He gives them time to repent. But the problem is, for the wicked, the longer they go and there's no repercussions, the more arrogant they become about their sin. Like, hey, I've been doing this for decades. Nothing's happened to me. Well, suddenly, out of the blue, a calamity strikes. Yep, it just happened. So it's a warning against procrastination
Starting point is 01:10:08 and repentance that the day of reckoning for persistent evil will arrive without prior notice warning indication. You do not get a message from heaven. A calamity is going to strike you today at 3.15. Now it's the price that a wicked person pays for years and years and years of wicked behavior that has damaged and hurt and destroyed innocent people. And God has kept record of all of it. What happens?
Starting point is 01:10:56 Shall suddenly shall he be broken. Suddenly shall he be broken. When the calamity comes, the disaster, it comes suddenly out of the blue, no warning. And that person shall suddenly be broken, crushed, irreversible damage. So, broken means complete shattering, a total collapse of power, influence. It's not just a setback. It's comprehensive demolition, leaving the person utterly ruined, incapable of recovering. It's a total downfall because God's mercy has run out. And then it comes there, God the judgment is thorough. It's complete.
Starting point is 01:12:06 He's made his decision. It's done. Without remedy. There's no cure. There's no solution. There's no solution. No way to fix it. No possibility of recovery.
Starting point is 01:12:24 No way to reverse the impact. It's total destruction of that person's life. It doesn't mean that they die. They may be financially wiped out. Their health may be taken from them. But they come to a hard bitter end. But they come to a hard, bitter end. God has brought justice to the people who that person harmed for years. Right. The trail of bodies behind that person over years, they've damaged people, robbed people, destroyed people. Just comfort your hearts knowing there's a payday someday.
Starting point is 01:13:08 There's a payday someday. There's a payday someday. And maybe it's not catching up with them today, maybe not even this week, but you cannot fight God forever. And the wicked fight God. Sorry, so the lack of remedy, the lack of a solution, speaks of the completeness of God's judgment. Yes. Where their evil is not just judged and punished, but it is utterly vanquished and prevent it from ever reemerging to hurt people again. from ever reemerging to hurt people again. Again I'll say this, people that are trapped in especially malignant narcissism, they better
Starting point is 01:13:56 come to grips with what they're doing, because they know they are deliberately harming somebody. They know it. They're living off the pain of other people. They're victims. They need their emotional pain to keep going. They're like vampires. Instead of sucking blood out of somebody, they suck their soul's energy out. And they, that's what they feed on through life. And they know what they're doing. They know that they're committing that evil. Their, their judgment will come upon them suddenly. And no, no way to repair the damage. no way to repair the damage. OK, I'm way over 18 minutes. I apologize.
Starting point is 01:14:49 This was a powerful lesson. A good lesson today. And I hope this serves not only as a warning to us, but also discernment for us as well, to observe the wicked and how they operate in the world around us, Be aware of the wicked. Know that they are plotting and their desire is to destroy you. Yes.
Starting point is 01:15:13 Because you're on God's side. That's why they seek to destroy, to kill, steal, and destroy. Now, you're armed with information. Yes. Proverbs is about more than staying away from prostitutes and loans. Yes, bad loans. It's a lot deeper. Amen. We went pretty deep in this today.
Starting point is 01:15:39 We're to watch the body language of people. Yes. All right, well, we appreciate you being here with us on this Wednesday edition of Morning Manor. And we appreciate the hundreds of people that join us live every weekday morning at 8 a.m. here on the East Coast, and the thousands that watch throughout the day on various social media platforms.
Starting point is 01:16:02 And we encourage you to help us out by getting the word out about morning manna. It's touching people's lives. We get messages every day about what a blessing morning manna has been in people's lives. We really, really appreciate that. And this is our ministry. This is what we do. And it's quite a change from what we used to do, but it's a natural extension what God has always intended. And so we hope that this is a blessing for you. Any final words today, Rick, before we sign off? Leslie, no, I won't loan you $100, but I'll give it to you if you need it. I know it's a joke, but that's the way to do it. I had it over the weekend. A relative I have not heard from for a long, long time,
Starting point is 01:16:51 I got a text message. Rick, I'm really in need. Can you loan me a couple thousand dollars? Rick, what did you just teach? Okay. I just, what did you just teach? No, I wrote back, said, no, I can't loan you that much money, but I'll give you this much and you don't have to pay it back. Okay. Okay. Put it in action. Put it in action. What we taught in Morning Man, we put, I put it in action this past weekend.
Starting point is 01:17:28 Because you know what? Ordinarily, my heartstrings, they would pull on my heartstrings and I said, yeah, I'll do it. Nope, not this time. I'm not feeding that duck with 17 ducklings either. We actually had a conversation about that yesterday, folks. I am not going to the tractor supply store and buy a 40-pound bag of corn for her. She got herself pregnant, She can feed her baby. Okay. They need to learn to eat bugs. So anyhow, don't be a pushover for people that don't work. But also be gender-hearted too for those in need.
Starting point is 01:18:20 That's right. But if somebody is genuinely in need and you have the ability to help them, then do it. Okay? But not somebody that refuses to work. They are hungry because they are in direct rebellion against the laws of God. Amen. Okay, gotta go. Bye. I love you. We'll see you on the next edition of Morning Man. God bless.
