TRUNEWS with Rick Wiles - Morning Manna - June 23, 2025 - Proverbs 4:14-19 - Enter Not Into the Path of the Wicked

Episode Date: June 23, 2025

In this powerful and sobering Monday message, the Morning Manna class explores Proverbs 4:14–19, a stern warning from Scripture to avoid even the first step toward sin. Rick and Doc unpack what it m...eans to “enter not into the path of the wicked,” explaining how temptation is often personalized by Satan and how even curiosity toward evil opens doors to destruction. The discussion dives into the spiritual danger of “soul vampires”—those who intentionally drain others emotionally, spiritually, and mentally—and challenges believers to sever ties with such people. Yet amidst the darkness, a promise shines through: the path of the righteous is like a shining light, growing brighter until the perfect day.Rick Wiles, Doc Burkhart. Starting point is 00:00:00 Good morning everybody. It's Monday and it's morning manna and we are delighted that you are here in a world that's very turbulent and chaotic and on a fast track for a rendezvous with God. Most people don't know it, but they're going to have a collision with God in the near future. This world is racing towards its last days. How long do we have? I don't know. Years? Decades?
Starting point is 00:00:36 I don't know. I just know we're on a fast track. And for me personally, I have to deepen my relationship with God. I have to work at this every day. I can't take a vacation from it. I have to work at it every day because I'm vulnerable. All of us need the Word of God. We need the Holy Spirit. We need wisdom and discernment
Starting point is 00:01:08 and understanding. That's what we're studying here this month as we explore the book of Proverbs. We're going to be in Proverbs, I don't know, probably into August. It's been some... I would think so, Doc. It's going to take us a couple of months to get through all the chapters of Proverbs. We're in Chapter 4, and so we have quite a few more chapters to go. But you know what? We're going to be smarter. We're going to be wiser. We're going to be wiser, we're going to be, we're going to have more understanding,
Starting point is 00:01:48 more discernment. That's the purpose of these studies. And so I encourage you to make it a point to be here every weekday. Just make an appointment, whether you watch us live at 8 a.m. Eastern Time at faithandvalues.com, or you watch us during our live streams at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Eastern Time, or if you watch us on video on demand. It doesn't matter. The main thing is that you have made a decision five days a week you're going to be in a Bible study class for your benefit. For your benefit.
Starting point is 00:02:36 That you become, that you grow closer to the Lord. That you have, that your light shines brighter that you are a saltier witness that you have more love for the world not the world system but the people in the world you have more love for sinners do you have love for sinners do you have compassion and mercy for sinners? Do you love the lost? Do you love the lost? We don't talk about that much nowadays, do we? When I was a teenager, preachers used to talk about that a lot. Do you love the lost?
Starting point is 00:03:18 Do you love the lost enough to tell them about Jesus? Now we don't really believe anybody's really lost nowadays, do we? No, but that loss, those people who are lost, you used to be one of them. Amen, that's right. And you're only this far away from being one of them now. Skin in your teeth. It's the mercy and grace of God that's holding you together. It's nothing you're doing. We're not capable. Oh, Doc, if I've learned anything in morning man over the last several years, I'm not capable of doing anything. No, except for the word. That's really the only thing we can do and then obeying the word afterwards. Yes. So today we're looking at Proverbs chapter four,
Starting point is 00:04:07 verses 14 through 19. I'm going to pray, invite the Holy Spirit, and Doc's gonna read the word, then he and I will jump into these verses. Almighty Father, our dear precious heavenly Father, Father, we exalt Your glorious name. We magnify You. We praise You and bless You, Father, for You are the one and only God of the universe.
Starting point is 00:04:39 There's never been another God. There isn't a God now. There never will be another God. You own that position. There are no competitors. Nobody is at your level and we are so glad you are our father. Father, you have given us your word to study. You've given us your son to study.
Starting point is 00:05:09 You've given us your kingdom to study and to know. And so we are gathered here now, brothers and sisters from all over the world gathered in one accord to be taught by your Holy Spirit. So Holy Spirit, come now, take charge of this Bible study and teach us in the name of Jesus Christ, amen. Amen. And good morning, everyone.
Starting point is 00:05:33 We are so glad to have you here with us on Morning Manna. For those that are joining with us live here in the eight o'clock hour on the East Coast, welcome to all the countries that are represented from Russia, the Philippines, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Malaysia, Brazil today, and of course, all across the US and Canada this morning. Good morning, God bless you for joining us live here
Starting point is 00:05:55 as hundreds do each and every weekday morning here from eight to nine o'clock each weekday morning here on faithandvayees.com. We are so privileged to have you here. We're continuing our study in the book of Proverbs and we continue today. In Proverbs chapter 4, we're going to pick back up on verse 14 and I'm going to be reading verses 14 through 19. So, if you've got your Bibles, follow along with me please. I'm reading from the King James this morning and starting with verse 14. Enter not into the path of the wicked and go
Starting point is 00:06:27 not in the way of evil men. Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it and pass away. For they sleep not except they have done mischief and their sleep is taken away unless they cause some to fail. unless they cause some to fail. For they eat the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence. But the path of the just is as the shining light, and that shineth more and more into the perfect day. The way of the wicked is as darkness. They know not at what they stumble." God bless the reading of all word today. This is a great passage today. Verse 14, enter not into the path of the wicked and go not in the way of evil men. If you're new to morning manna, I have a teaching method, teaching style. I break verses into segments. That's the way I've learned the word of God.
Starting point is 00:07:33 I look at a segment of that verse and I study that segment. Then I move to the second segment and study it. And then I move to the third segment. And then after I've extracted all of the insight I can find by studying each segment then I put it together. That's what's worked for me and that's the way I teach. I hope it works for you also. So verse 14, enter not into the path of the wicked and do not in the way of evil men. The first segment of this verse is enter not into the path. It emphasizes the urgent call to avoid sinful roads, sinful paths.
Starting point is 00:08:25 Yes, even if they're well traveled and well worn roads. Okay, because that's the implication here. This word path is a well worn road, not just a path through the weeds, but this is like something that's been trampled down, people have been using it for a long time. It's a way, a highway, if you will. And so the, you're right, Doc, and what it's saying is, this is really
Starting point is 00:08:57 the key message in this verse. Don't take the first step. message in this verse. Don't take the first step. All right, that's what this is about. Don't take the first step. When you see that path, it's a path of temptation, a path that entices you. It says, there are good things waiting for you on this path, and it's all a lie.
Starting point is 00:09:33 And Satan can appeal to you in so many different ways. He'll find the place that you are the most vulnerable at that moment and say Put your foot on this path Take one step and then take another step and Follow this path. This path is going to take you to what you're seeking But it doesn't it takes you to what he has waiting for you, which is ultimately the destruction of your soul.
Starting point is 00:10:15 So enter not into the path. Do not enter into the path. It's a command to deliberately avoid taking the first step. It's harder to get off the path after you've taken the second and third step. When you've taken 10, 20, 50, 100, taken 10, 20, 50, 100, 1000 steps, it's a lot harder to get off that path. The wisdom here is don't take the first step. Just move on. Move on. You come to that? What's that, Doc?
Starting point is 00:11:02 Don't even think about it. Don't take the exit ramp. Yes. You come to a Y in the road. Do I go right or left? And Satan's got his people there saying, take this path. Follow this path. This will lead to your happiness.
Starting point is 00:11:22 No, it leads to your demise. And so don't judge people because somebody goes down the wrong path and then God rescues them. Does it mean that you're not going to go down a different path? Satan's got a path with your name on it. So don't judge a person who took a misstep, went down the wrong path and say, well, I would never do that. Maybe so, but Satan has a path with your name on it. And when that moment comes, will you be able to resist taking that first step? That's the message here.
Starting point is 00:12:09 Don't take the first step. Refuse to even start going down the wrong road. Enter. Do not enter. Enter not. That's a firm decision a no Second segment so the first is enter not into the path second segment is of the wicked Whose path is it? It's not your path you're not the wicked one
Starting point is 00:13:04 It's not calling you wicked for being on that path. It's a path that belongs to the wicked. Satan's goal This is a message to the righteous. The path of the wicked does not belong to the righteous. It belongs to the wicked. This message says to the righteous, don't take the first step and put your feet on the path that belongs to the wicked. It's their path. Let them travel on it. Don't give them any company. The path of the wicked is the lifestyle of the wicked.
Starting point is 00:14:10 the lifestyle of the wicked. So, of the wicked identifies the source of the path, the ownership of the path, the ways of the path. The word wicked applies to those who reject God's truth and his commandments. So it's a serious admonition to all of us to not take that first step and put your feet on the path that belongs to wicked men and women. The third segment of verse 14, and go not in the way of evil men. Don't walk in the ways of evil men. It emphasizes the ongoing commitment to reject evil every day. The path of the wicked will cause you to develop sinful habits. And a habit is simply something that you're doing repeatedly. So if Satan can get you to repeatedly do action steps that will lead to your harm, he will form a habit in you. Likewise, the opposite is true.
Starting point is 00:15:40 You can form good habits. That's right It works both ways the mind the mind is neutral The the mind is the mind produces habits But the mind gets its instructions from the heart right The purpose of a habit the reason the mind creates a habit is to streamline your day and make your day more efficient. Right. Positive or negative.
Starting point is 00:16:16 The mind says this is what the boss wants. The boss is the heart. This is what the boss wants. And study after study has shown that habits, either good or bad, have a physical change in your brain, a physical change. It's hard to imagine, but that's the case. It's just like, I use the illustration of the old wagon trains out west.
Starting point is 00:16:38 You can still go outside of Kansas City and you can still find the wagon ruts from back in the wagon train days. The ruts are still there. And habits, good or bad, create trails or ruts, pathways in your brain. Pathways that you can map out. Yes.
Starting point is 00:17:02 What you think about continuously creates a pathway in your brain. So if you think continuously about the Word of God, you've created a pathway for the Word of God. And that brings about the renewing of your mind. Because the Word goes through your brain like a street sweeper, renewing your mind, sweeping out the junk that was placed there by the enemy. So shun sinful lifestyle, sinful behavior, sinful thoughts, sinful words.
Starting point is 00:17:47 Go or walk. Go not. King James says, go not. Modern English says, don't walk. Either version is conveying continuous movement, continuous action. conveying continuous movement, continuous action. Do not move continuously in the ways of evil men. Consistently choose wisdom's path.
Starting point is 00:18:26 So it's a warning against Satan Luring you into adopting evil habits That will harm you remember his his entire Purpose is to steal kill and destroy To rob you of life, to kill everything in your life, to destroy everything in your life. That's His purpose. There's nothing good in Him. Satan doesn't have a good side. His full intent is your destruction. So, evil men that identifies those who live contrary to God.
Starting point is 00:19:25 Once again, who do we choose to be around? Who do we choose to associate with? Who do we admire? I, powerful people, whether they're politicians or celebrities or athletes, who are not saved. The new term, influencers. The influencers, they're not saved. Why are you expelling them? You ought to be weeping over them.
Starting point is 00:20:11 They're lost. So why are we lifting up these people who are outside the kingdom as though they're heroes to us? us. Verse 15, avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, pass away. Just making clear here what we're trying to do. Pretty easy. Segment one, avoid it. Reject evil.
Starting point is 00:20:44 Reject the path of wicked people. Steer clear paths. This works every time. The only time you'll ever get in trouble is when you don't practice these instructions. Avoid it. That's a decisive action on your part. Don't let Satan put pressure on you.
Starting point is 00:21:12 He'll find your most tender spot. He'll find the place where you really need somebody to do something for you, something that you, there's a, he'll find that place. And he'll say, if you just go down this path, this is, you'll find what you're looking for. But the word of God says avoid it. Make intentional evasion of that path. Run from it. Get away from it.
Starting point is 00:21:49 The word it clearly refers to what the scripture is talking about, the path of the wicked. Right. Segment 2, pass not by it. Now this is even, this takes it to another level. At the beginning here in verse 14, we're talking about, in verse 14, we're in 15 now, but in verse 14, it's saying, don't put your foot, don't even take one step on that path First 15 says don't even get close to it
Starting point is 00:22:35 Don't don't walk past it don't look at it Don't pass not by it. Don't pass by it. Avoid it. Do not give it your consideration. Don't look over at it. Don't be curious. I'm going to sneeze. Excuse me.
Starting point is 00:23:02 All right. Sorry. I'm gonna sneeze, excuse me. All right. Sorry. Bless you. So don't even be curious. Don't look, don't peek. Avoid it. Bless you.
Starting point is 00:23:26 So have firm resolve. Jesus takes it to a new level. Verse 14 was, hey, if you get up to that path and you're looking at it, don't put your foot on it. Verse 15 says, don't even go towards the path. Then you're not tempted to put your foot on it. The third segment of verse 15, turn from it and pass away. Yes.
Starting point is 00:23:52 Actively retreat from evil. Decisively turn away from temptation. Satan will tempt you. Satan will send people to you to tempt you. Temptation usually comes through another person. We seldom go the wrong, we seldom go on the path alone. We like company.
Starting point is 00:24:24 We seldom go on the path alone. We like company. And people that practice in like to entice others, hey, join me on this walk. So think about that. Think about who's in your life right now that might be Enticing you to walk with them You see this gets in you get into interpersonal relationships sometimes you just have to say I can't I Can't have any relationship with that person. Right, you have to cut it off. Yes. Verse 16, for they sleep not, except they have done mischief, and their sleep is taken away unless they cause some to fall. mischief and their sleep is taken away unless they cause some to fall. So the first segment here is three parts of this verse. For they sleep not or the
Starting point is 00:25:35 modern English for they don't sleep unless. The wicked are restless. They don't sleep well. They're restless. And this phrase, for they sleep not, it speaks of the wicked person's inner unrest. It's a life devoid of tranquility. They don't rest until they find somebody to sin with them. Yes. There's relentless agitation in their soul. The wise, those who pursue God, find rest, but the wicked are agitated, and they have to find somebody to sin with them.
Starting point is 00:26:50 Yes, they make disciples. The devil's disciples, you got it, Doc. They're making disciples for the devil. And then the second segment is, except they have done mischief, for they don't sleep unless they do evil. Right. There's an inner compulsion to sin and to lead other people into sinning. Right.
Starting point is 00:27:26 They have to do mischief. Right. It's an obsession with wrongdoing. And these people don't go after other sinners, they go after the righteous. Their targets are the righteous. I want to say their target, the people that they seek to entice, allure, bring them into traveling down that pathway of sin. They don't go after other sinners. There's no fun in it. The fun, the satisfaction that they get is causing Um, unless, right, look at the word unless, unless they do evil. That speaks of the conditionality of their rest. They can't rest unless they've caused somebody else to sin.
Starting point is 00:28:53 Then verse the third segment of this verse, verse 16, and their sleep is taken away unless they call some to fail, to fall. Now this reveals their destructive intent. Their sleep is taken away from them unless they find somebody to make that person fall into sin with them. That's right. They're not satisfied with just sinning themselves. They have to make a disciple, a disciple of sin. And again, they go after the righteous.
Starting point is 00:29:43 The emotional, spiritual energy that they get, and it is, they get energy from this. The energy that they get, enticing and taking down a righteous person generates far more Let me put it like this. Enticing and taking down a righteous person generates far more energy for them than getting another sinner to sin. There's no payoff there. It's minor. It's just minor. It's like, it's just minor. It's like a drug addict.
Starting point is 00:30:26 I mean, if he's desperate and he finds something to give him a momentary fix, he'll take it, but what he really wants is the full load, the full shot. Getting a sinner to sin, okay, that's just a temporary fix. Getting a righteous person to sin, now they're getting the spiritual high they're looking for. It says to cause some to fall. It means to lead others to ruination. But the wicked are restless without harming people. And their sleep is taken away. Verse 17. I'm wondering how many people are in our class right now. Are you thinking of anybody you know right now? I hope so.
Starting point is 00:31:41 I wanna say I hope so. I mean, I don't mean that I hope you have wicked people in your life. But if you do, I hope the Holy Spirit is illuminating your heart and mind to say, okay, you're learning right now, I'm shedding light on something. You need to see what's going on. You need to back away. on, you need to back away, because that person does not have your soul's best interest in his or her heart. We don't do enough teaching about evil. I mentioned I'm going to start a new podcast.
Starting point is 00:32:25 It's going to be a weekly, but it's on this subject of people who intentionally pursue the destruction of others. There is no other way to describe them other than evil. On the surface, they don't look evil. It's below the surface, they're evil. Their actions, their thoughts, their intent is evil. It is to harm someone. And they do it in different ways.
Starting point is 00:33:04 Sometimes it's by, with a smile on their face, with luring you, enticing you to sin. Others it's with a glare in their eyes, a murder. I hate you. I'm going to bring you down. But both of them are evil. Verse 17, for they eat the bread of wickedness and they drink the wine of violence. Very interesting verse. Yeah, Doc, what do you think about this one?
Starting point is 00:33:37 Let's start with for they eat. Yes. Well, they partake of it. It's something they are nourished on. They're nourished on wickedness. It's not that they do it just out of habit, but they derive their nutrition and their energy from wickedness. There you go.
Starting point is 00:34:00 See, this is what I've just said a moment ago. They need this energy. They're craving this energy. The reason they can't sleep is that they're hungry. They're hungry for the energy Oh man, this is getting deep. That's the reason they don't sleep. They've got to find somebody, some vulnerable person to pull that person's energy out of their soul. They have to eat it. They nourish on it. They nourish on it.
Starting point is 00:34:45 They indulge on it. It's their nourishment. It's their meals. The soul energy of other humans. They consume the souls of other people. And they'll just suck the life out of them and leave them on the ground lifeless and move on to another victim. That's right.
Starting point is 00:35:17 When somebody in your life does not respect you and the way that they treat you is disrespectful, let me tell you why they treat you is disrespectful. Let me tell you why they don't respect you. Doc, this is a new revelation to me. This just came to me over the weekend. The reason they don't respect you is because you haven't seen who and what they are. Who? is because you haven't seen who and what they are. Who?
Starting point is 00:35:55 And they have no respect for you because they're evil, they're evil. That's good insight there. And you don't see it. You don't see it and therefore they have no respect for you. You're a foolish person who can be devoured. They eat you. They eat your soul. They eat your soul's energy and you don't even see what they're doing and they have no respect for you. Oh my, I didn't expect this today, Doc. They devour souls, for they eat. Yes. A constant consumption of soul energy.
Starting point is 00:36:55 Unless they eat the bread of wickedness. Segment two, the bread of wickedness. They butter it. They butter it with your soul's energy. They pull the energy out of your soul and they smear it on their bread of wickedness and they sneer at you. Oh, they got a smile on their face while they're sneering. Saying you fool, you idiot, I'm devouring you. Again, there's two types of these.
Starting point is 00:37:39 There's one that will smile at you and just be laughing on the inside. He or she doesn't see what I'm doing. smile at you and just be laughing on the inside. He or she doesn't see what I'm doing. What an idiot. The other one has a glare of the countenances of hatred, of contempt. But for the same reason, I'm destroying you
Starting point is 00:38:02 and you're too stupid to discern it. I'm eating your soul. I'm spreading your soul energy on my bread. This is my, my sustenance. This is my meal. This is what I, I get up in the morning to eat I'm hungry. I didn't sleep at night I'm hungry. I've
Starting point is 00:38:32 Got to eat some soul food Not the good guy oh my The devil's people love soul food. And I'm not talking about black eyed peas. I'm talking about your soul. They want to eat it. I'm going to tell you, I, a lot of you, you have people in your life right now. You need to get away from them.
Starting point is 00:39:05 They're eating your soul. And drink the wine of violence. Violence isn't necessarily confined to knives and guns and fists. fine to knives and guns and fists. I think tongues are more violent than guns. Yeah. More people are wounded every day by wicked tongues than any other weapon of violence.
Starting point is 00:39:39 No one ever tries to license a tongue, do they? No. Or bridle it. You should be required to have a license to use your tongue. But the tongue, every day, wicked people use their tongue to slice and dice other people. Yes. Why? They're bleeding them out. It's easier to consume their soul's energy if they're bleeding. How do you eat an animal? You eat it and bleed it out? These people are eating. They're devouring.
Starting point is 00:40:31 They eat the bread of wickedness, for they eat and they drink. The bread, biblically, is the body. Biblically, the wine is the blood. They eat your flesh, they drink your blood. They're vampires. They're soul vampires. I'm telling you, these people are walking the earth right now, they're soul vampires. They're sucking the lifeblood out of many Christians. I hope some people waking up today say, I'm not going to let this go on anymore.
Starting point is 00:41:23 No more, you're not going to do this to me anymore. You're not going to do this to me anymore.î Stop it right now. You are not sucking the life out of me anymore. You're draining me. I'm being depleted. I can't function. You have the power in Christ to escape from the soul vampires. Right. Now, we can't go through this verse without pointing out there's some definite
Starting point is 00:41:54 parallels between this verse and the Lord's Supper. And the parallels go pretty deep in that Christ is the meal that heals and the meal that delivers but in Satan's communion the evil communion you're the sacrifice your blood is what gets drunk you're the sacrifice you're on the altar that's right you're on the altar and you're being carved up and your blood is being consumed. They drink the wine of violence. The violence, the word violence indicates the wicked person's brutal intention to destroy you, to hurt you. Yes. Get it out of your mind that this is talking about people just with guns and knives. These are people with malicious hearts, with wicked minds, wicked thoughts, and wicked, evil, violent tongues.
Starting point is 00:43:04 And they know what they're doing They fully know what they're doing. Yes, they know that they're harming you They know that they're bringing pain into your life and they love it Because they're eating your flesh and drinking your blood and draining your soul of its energy And how did they get you there they lured you to get on the path of wickedness But praise God the Lord will rescue the righteous I Don't know how he does it. All of a sudden, the righteous will realize
Starting point is 00:43:51 the path that he or she is on, and suddenly an exit ramp appears. Heaven will provide an exit ramp. At that very moment, that the eyes of the righteous open up and go, oh my God, I'm on the wrong path. And an exit ramp will appear. Take the ramp, get off the path. Yes. And you know what? Your heavenly father's not gonna whack you and slap you and knock you on the other side of the room
Starting point is 00:44:30 for being on the wrong path. He's gonna say, oh my son, my daughter, you're back. I love you so much. Dear, let me clean up your wounds. Let me clean up the mess that you're in. That's the loving father. But then there are religious people who will then get angry that God was kind
Starting point is 00:44:54 to the person who got on the wrong path. Yeah. And they'll be saying, why aren't you punishing that man or woman? Why aren't you destroying them? Why aren't you knocking them into tomorrow? Slap them around. Because that's not the Father's heart. The Father is always about restoring. He's always about restoring. It's always, he doesn't desire to punish anybody. If he did, he'd set this planet on fire.
Starting point is 00:45:34 That day's coming. He's got a date up ahead where he says, okay, this is it. But the Father's heart is always to forgive and to restore. And we have to be the same way. I'm learning myself. I'm learning that when people do things that disappoint me, like don't get upset, don't get angry. Don't get angry. Don't get angry. Don't get angry, don't get upset.
Starting point is 00:46:10 I'm learning, okay? As I age, I'm learning that the Father is merciful and I have to be like Him. That if I don't learn to be merciful and forgiving and kind and gracious to others, He may withhold mercy and grace from me. That's right. Verse 18, but the path of the just is as the shining light that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. So now we have a contrast. There was a path of evil, but now we have another path.
Starting point is 00:46:54 And now we get a description of what the proper path is. The path, the path of the just, the path of the just path the righteous So this is urging us to always follow God's wisdom That it will set us on a path that results in divine favor and Goodness and blessing As doc said the the path of the just contrasts with the ways of the wicked. Two ways. That was the title of the most popular sermon in the first several centuries of the new
Starting point is 00:47:39 church. Every preacher in the world had his version of a sermon called Two Ways. Yes. That's a historical fact, folks. You can study that. The Two Ways sermon. That was your sugar stick sermon. If you had to travel somewhere or you went somewhere and you were in a bind, you always
Starting point is 00:48:04 had your past sermon. had to travel somewhere or you went somewhere and you you were in a bind you always had your past sermon. You had a few ways sermon. And it's the best way to introduce the gospel to the lost. Yes. Because you just say with all kindness and love to a group of sinners, hey, I want to tell you about two ways in life. I'm going to love you regardless of which path you go on, but I have because I love you, I have to tell you about these two paths.
Starting point is 00:48:40 See, do we love sinners who have who are on the wrong path? There's a difference between a sinner and a wicked person. A sinner is just somebody who doesn't know Christ, doesn't know the righteous way, just is living the way they've always lived. A wicked person is somebody who knows right and wrong and chooses wrong. There's a difference. I can love sinners. It's hard to love the wicked.
Starting point is 00:49:21 It's hard to love the wicked because you know what you're doing. You are sucking the energy out of righteous souls. You're on a mission to destroy people. The word says God hates the wicked. That's what the Bible says God hates the wicked. That's what the Bible says. It doesn't say he loves the sinners, but he hates the wicked. Yeah, I keep hearing he loves the sinners, but hates the sin. No, the Bible is pretty consistent. He doesn't like sinners at all.
Starting point is 00:50:05 But that doesn't mean he hasn't provided a way of escape. Because at the same time, he shows his love and compassion by providing a way of salvation for the wicked. The wicked are people who have made a deliberate decision to oppose God. Yes. And they can be in churches. Yes. There are wicked people in churches, dividing the church, splitting the church, undermining the pastor. They're wicked. They're wicked. Discern them. But the path of the just is as the shining light.
Starting point is 00:51:00 So the path of the righteous is a radiant path. It's lit up, there's no darkness, it's lit up. It illuminates your way. Have you ever felt like you're in darkness? Even as a Christian, have you ever felt that Satan has entrapped you in darkness, and that you've been pulled into something? That's a warning sign. Because the way the righteous is illuminated and it has hope. It's a
Starting point is 00:51:39 dawning light. A shining light is translated a dawning light, the dawn of the day. The darkness is over when the sun comes up. Whatever situation, whatever mental, emotional, spiritual state that you're in, if Satan has you in depression, in whatever it is, know that there is a sun that will come up in your life. Satan not only wants to take you deeper into the darkness, you've got to make the intention, you got to cry out, Father, I need the light, I need that dawning light.
Starting point is 00:52:30 Segment three, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. Hallelujah. I love that. Well, what's the perfect day? So there's a progressive glory of the righteous path. It shine of more and more. That means as you walk through this life, this light, this divine light will shine more and more in your life. Unto the perfect day. What is that perfect day? The resurrection day.
Starting point is 00:53:08 That's right. There's a gradual increase, a gradual increase of God's light in your life in this world until you reach the perfect day, the divine completion, which is you take your last breath and you leave this world and you go into a state of rest waiting on the Judgment Day, on the Day of Resurrection. But the perfect day is the Day of Resurrection, when the work of God in your life is brought to its completion and you are you are given a new body that's united with your eternal soul and you live forever in the presence
Starting point is 00:54:00 of the Lord. That's the perfect day. And then verse 19, the way of the wicked is as darkness they know not at what they stumble. They don't even know what they fell over. What a picture that is. You ever walk around in the dark and stumble over something? Oh yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:29 That's where the wicked are. They choose the dark path and yet they stumble over things because it's darkness. If you live in darkness, if you travel in darkness, you are going to stumble. So we avoid the wicked path. We get if if we find ourselves, we've been enticed onto the wrong path, you get off the path and get back on the righteous path. And God says, hey, glad to have you back. Praise God. I was concerned about you. I love you.
Starting point is 00:55:09 Let's get moving again. There's no condemnation. There's no judgment. It's a loving father. It's a loving father. Every day I'm learning how much He loves me. Every day I'm learning more and more about how much He loves me, how kind He is, how loyal He is. The loyalty, the devotion. Do you know how much your Father is devoted to you? How loyal he is to you?
Starting point is 00:55:47 He's not like fickle people that, hey, you disappoint them and they just toss you out. God doesn't do that. There are religious people who wish God would do that to others, There are religious people who wish God would do that to others. But that just says they don't know Him. They know of religion. They know of a God that somebody's painted in their mind. But do you know the Father? The Father is kind.
Starting point is 00:56:20 He's gentle. He's forgiving. He's gentle, he's forgiving, he's loyal. You are his son or daughter. He loves you so much, he gave his only begotten son to save you from death and destruction. So the way, it says the way of the wicked is as darkness, and we've talked about the way. It's a destructive path, a destructive lifestyle.
Starting point is 00:56:56 It is as darkness. The reason that they stumble is that there's confusion in their path. They don't know what's in front of them. They stumble over things. There's confusion. This is like, this is a metaphor that sin will bring a haze over your eyes. They know not at what they stumble. They're ignorant of their downfall. They have a lack of awareness.
Starting point is 00:57:58 They don't know why. Why did that happen? Why were they destroyed? What happened? Why did the roof fall in on them? where they destroyed? What happened? Why did the roof fall in on them? Doc, that's it for me today. I haven't been... how's the class taking this today? They've been very... Brian's a cataract of sin. Yep, that's what it is. Sin cataracts. Did this speak to any of you about particular specific people in your life? Did anybody have a light that went off and said, oh my, he's describing somebody in my life. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:58:43 I see yes, yes, life. Yeah. Yes. Yes. Yes. Okay. Anybody have a soul vampire in your life? A soul sucker. You just. A life leech. By the way, that's the name of my podcast soul suckers soul suckers. Yep Yep, that's it. It's going to be called soul suckers And i'm going to talk about people that intentionally suck the life out of the souls of other people And they're wicked people. They're wicked. Some don't even know they're wicked. A lot do, though. I think they all know they are. That's the conclusion I've come to, Doc.
Starting point is 00:59:32 They know it. They know it, and again, that's why they disrespect you. Because you are allowing them to suck the life out of you and they have no respect for you. You think you have to be a kind Christian and let them abuse you. Please sir, may I have more? And they're sneering at you, saying you silly person. You're right, Matthew, because you don't
Starting point is 01:00:05 respect yourself. Wow. This class is sharp. Yeah, we got some good people on here, Rick. Hungry. Randy said, God, God, God, God provided the right path for me this weekend. Thank you, God, I took it. Hallelujah. Amen. See, this is working. Daniel said they believe that a Christian is like a doormat. Yep, they'll wipe their feet on you. Yeah, we're going to a different level, aren't we? Amen. Okay.
Starting point is 01:00:52 This teaching in Proverbs, every day we've been getting a little bit more light, a little bit more light unto that perfect day, Rick. Hallelujah. Yes. Amen. I think that's the theme today, unto the perfect day. The perfect day, that's what I'm waiting on. That's it, Doc. Let's wrap it up.

Starting point is 01:02:25 off for today? Uh, Don said let us know if we hear from John Mark. Yes, absolutely. We sure will. So just continue to pray for John Mark, a member of our class. He's disappeared. He's been missing for a week and he's not, he's not on vacation. something's happened to him. Yes. And so pray for him, he's in trouble. He's either been injured or something evil has happened to him. Okay, so. Be praying with us.
Starting point is 01:02:57 It's not good, either way it's not good. It's not good, but pray for John Mark. Amen. Praise God.
