TRUNEWS with Rick Wiles - Morning Manna - June 26, 2025 - Proverbs 5:8-14 - Don't Pay the Folly Fee: The High Cost of Ignoring God's Wisdom
Episode Date: June 26, 2025In today’s sobering Bible study, Rick and Doc walk us through Proverbs 5:1–7, exposing the subtle, seductive dangers of sin cloaked in sweet speech. This isn’t just a warning about immoral women...—it’s a powerful metaphor for any deceptive voice or influence that pulls us off the path of godly wisdom. The duo emphasizes three essential commands: attend to God’s wisdom, turn your ear in humility, and seek His understanding. They explain how the "strange woman" symbolizes folly, foolishness, and worldly temptation—slick, smooth, and sweet like honey, but leading ultimately to death and hell. The lesson also unpacks the word “discretion”—a neutral Hebrew term used for both godly planning and devilish schemes—and challenges each of us to examine our hearts, speech, and influences. Are we preserving God's knowledge with our lips or being lured by seductive speech? Wisdom, clarity, and repentance are the way out—and the Father is urgently calling us to hear Him now.Rick Wiles, Doc Burkhart. Good morning, everybody. Welcome to Morning Manna for Thursday. And we're here as we
we gather every weekday five days a week, Monday through Friday at faith and values.com
to study the Word of God. That's our home base. That's where the classroom meets in
real time at 8am. You may be watching or listening later in the day,
but we are gathered in a real classroom at 8 a.m.
Monday through Friday at faithandvalues.com.
There are Christian brothers and sisters
from all over the world here right now,
and they're chatting with one another.
You can join in, make friends with saints around the world. It's part of the benefits of being with
faithandvalues.com. We are studying the book of Proverbs. We began the chapter 5 yesterday,
and today we pick up at verse 8, verses 8 through 14.
Let's invite the Holy Spirit.
Almighty God, our Father in heaven,
we come to you in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ,
our Savior.
And we humbly ask for the presence of the Holy Spirit
in this class to illuminate our hearts and minds to see and understand your Word.
We are studying wisdom and discernment and understanding. And so Father, those are the
topics, those are the themes of Proverbs which you wrote for our benefit and your Proverbs say to pursue them, to value
wisdom as greater than gold and silver and so Father that's why we're here and therefore
your promise is you will enlighten us, you will give us the wisdom and understanding that we seek
in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Amen. Praise God. We're glad to have you here with us on a Thursday morning
here on Morning Manna. Morning Manna is the ministry of faith and values fellowship.
We're a church, real live church, and we welcome you to be a part of this daily Bible study where
hundreds of people join us each and every morning from around the world to hear the word of God. And just some of the countries checking in this morning, we have the Philippines, Japan, Switzerland, Brazil, Malaysia.
We're so glad to have you here. And then, of course, all across the U.S. and Canada this morning,
we're continuing our study today in Proverbs. We're in chapter five, and we're going to pick back up on verse 8 through 14 today.
And we're continuing these warnings that the writer of Proverbs is giving about anti-wisdom,
the idea of that is against wisdom and the warnings that are associated with that. So,
we're going to pick up in verse 8 today and
here is the continuation of that warning. Remove thy way far from her and come
not nigh the door of her house. Lest thou give thine honor unto others and thy
years unto the cruel. Lest strangers be filled with thy well and thy labors be
in the house of a stranger and thou mourn at the last when well, and thy labors be in the house of a stranger, and thou mourn at the last
when thy flesh and thy body are consumed. And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart
despised reproof, and have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined my ear to them
that instructed me? I was almost in all-evil in the midst of the congregation
and assembly." God bless the reading of the word today. Amen. Verse 8,
remove thy way far from her and come not nigh the door of her house. So who are we talking about?
Let's go back to yesterday's lesson, verse three,
for the lips of a strange woman drop as a honeycomb. Okay. Who, who or what is a strange
woman? Is this a woman that has weird looks, creepy? Hey, you say, Hey, you know what, she's
strange. You want to stay away. She's a weirdo. She's strange.
No, that's not what this means. Strange means a foreigner.
Right. Outside the covenant.
Outside you got it, Doc. Outside the covenant. Somebody outside the covenant of God. That's
the strange woman. It can be a strange man. It can be a
foreign man, a foreign woman. It's a person outside the covenant of God.
So now we look at verse 8, remove thy way far from her and come not nigh the door of her house.
nigh the door of her house." So my method of teaching is to break each verse into
at least about three parts.
Sometimes it's a long verse,
there may be four or five parts, but typically three.
Remove thy way.
What does this mean?
This is an urgent need to actively avoid the strange person, the
foreigner, the person who is outside the covenant. Actively avoid the temptation that comes from that person. Right. You can't avoid contact with people outside the covenant, but you this is a a call to actively
avoid those outside the covenant who would tempt you. See there are two people in in these proverbs.
There are two people in these Proverbs. There's the tempter and the temptee, the tempted.
The Proverbs are a wisdom to God's children to not become a temptee, someone who's been
tempted, a victim of temptation. There's a difference between being tempted and succumbing
to the temptation. Simply because you're tempted doesn't mean you've sinned, but succumbing to the
temptations where you cross the line. But the other person in these Proverbs is the tempter.
But the other person in these Proverbs is the tempter. And we know at the top of the food chain, it's Satan.
Right.
He's the tempter.
When God desires to bless you, he sends a person.
When Satan seeks to destroy you, he sends a person.
Curses and blessings come through people.
People are the delivery mechanism for satanic curses or heavenly blessings.
So verse 8, remove thy way, says redirect your path. Move away from this.
Foreigner this person outside the
Covenant who is seeking to tempt you.
Remove thy way so that implies deliberate action.
Right?
It requires intentional avoidance of the tempter.
You know, he repeats this theme over and over again
that it's an active rejection of these principles.
It's an active rejection of all these ideas.
Because passively, if you just sit there and do nothing,
it'll overwhelm you.
It'll come in on its own. Because passively, if you just sit there and do nothing, it'll overwhelm you.
It'll come in on its own.
That's why action is required in all of these, every single one.
That's a really good point, Doc.
It's not just that you actively pursue the tempter, but by not actively resisting the
tempter, the tempter overtakes you.
That's a really good point that
passive reaction to the tempter will bring about defeat.
I've often joked that, you know, if you say, if a guy says, I don't want a
haircut, but he spends all day inside the barbershop, guess what's going to happen?
Before the day is over, he's going to get a haircut.
Even though he said, I don't want a haircut. The fact that you placed yourself there, okay,
you were eventually overcome by the desire to have a haircut, okay. So remove conveys the thought of decisive withdrawal. You have to remove yourself. All these Proverbs have
the message that the child of God is responsible for his or her actions to avoid the tempter and the tempter's agents.
Remove, remove thy way.
Again, personal, not, hey y'all, move away.
This is your way.
It is personal to each person.
Remove your way.
Second part is far from her.
Not just slide over a little bit.
You're right.
This is, get as far away as you can. Far. How far is far? Well, the best would
be until you can't see her anymore. Get far away. There are people in our lives that we simply should just get away from.
They're not good for our well-being.
And you have to break off those relationships.
And you have to remove yourself from those people.
That's difficult. It's painful. It's messy.
There's no easy way to do it. Okay.
There's no way to eat. There's no easy way to do it.
You get entangled with emotional bonds with people and then you discover,
Oh no, this is a person I shouldn't be around. So it's not easy.
I'm not making this out. This is like, Oh, you just, Oh no, this is a person I shouldn't be around. So it's not easy.
I'm not making this out to say like, oh, you just.
Yeah, just go the other way.
No, it.
No.
Life is messy.
Life is messy.
So this far from her,
it speaks of the necessity
of keeping a far distance from the influence of temptation.
Remember the woman is folly, the woman is foolishness.
The rejection of wisdom.
The rejection, yes.
I used to think that this meant, you know, just a loose woman, just a sexually promiscuous woman.
That's just surface level understanding of the scripture.
This could be male or female. This has to do with, and it's not just sexuality, this has to do with the lust for
a lot of different things in life.
You may never fall for a sexual temptation, but you'll fall for temptation for power, or money or prestige.
This applies to all these things,
the various vices of the life of men and women.
So far from her specifies the extent of the avoidance.
Again, as far as you can go.
What, how far is far,
whatever is a safe distance.
How far do you have to go away from
this person to not be influenced by this person again?
That's how far you can. As far as you can. from this person to not be influenced by this person again.
That's how far you gotta go.
As far as you can.
That's right.
When that person no longer has influence over you,
you've gone far enough.
That's how far you have to go.
You break the influence.
So doc, that implies that distance has a protective role. Some how
many times you've said you know I had to put some distance between me and him or
me and her. Right. We say that don't we? Why? Why do we say that? Because distance has an impact.
That's right. There's a place where geography matters, right? Where you can be in a place
of cursing or in a place of blessing. There's a destination, there's coordinates, there's a place that you can
go to on the map. And there's also a place to get away from on the map too. Don't go there,
don't go to that place. How many people have had to move away from a domineering mother, or a
or a super critical father,
or a brother or sister whose personal life was so messy that it just kept spilling over into your life.
How many people?
I guarantee you there are people in this classroom,
you had to do it.
You had to put distance between you and somebody else.
Right. Distance, You had to put distance between you and somebody else right distance
Distance provides a protective layer, right? There's a barrier the distance is a barrier
The person no longer has that kind of influence over you.
That's right.
The third segment is, and come not nigh the door of her house.
So this talks about the danger of even approaching
temptation's threshold.
Because that's what the door of her house is. Right.
It's the threshold.
It's the entrance into the sin.
Don't even get near the door.
Sin has entry points.
Wisdom says avoid it. Sin has entry points.
Wisdom says avoid it.
Don't even go near those portals, those doors.
Avoid it.
If you go near it, you have nobody to blame but yourself.
And come not nigh the door of her house
It's a warning against
approaching foolishness
the domain of foolishness
You're right
There you go
If there's a door that says
fools enter here That's what you gotta see.
This house is a house of folly.
And when you enter it, the floors are inclined downward and it leads to the basement and
the basement is called Shoal. Hell.
So it says, come not near the door of what?
Her house.
Her house. Again, her is a metaphor for the folly of temptation.
It represents, it's not just a woman, if this is male or female, doesn't matter.
Do not, don't come near the door of her house.
Her house is where she lives.
Her house is where foolishness lives.
You know, it seems to me like this verse implies
you know where her house is.
You know where it is.
All right, you go by it, you know, you've seen it. But you don't have to go and sit
in the in the door frame. You see, you could say, well, I didn't go in the house, but you're sitting
in the door. Right. But the implication is, everybody knows where that house is.
Mm-hmm. Yep. And how many young men drive by houses and they know who lives there? All right. And they know, if I just knock on the door, I'm going to be invited in. And if I
get invited in, there's going to be sin. and they know it. This is what this is saying.
You know where sin lives. You know the address. There you go. You know sin's address. That's it.
I like that. Okay. Don't even look at the door. Don't go near the door. Don't knock on the door. Don't look at the door
Verse 9
Lest thou give thine honor unto others and nine years unto the cruel
Modern English lest you give your honor to others in your years to the cruel.
So this is a very serious one because it speaks of the risk of losing your blessings to sin,
even the years of your life.
This is where this gets very serious now.
This is where this gets very serious now.
It says that succumbing to another person's temptation leads to personal loss.
Okay, so that's now where you do the big gulp.
I'll just wait for everybody to gulp.
Okay.
Lest, L-E-S-T, lest.
That's a cautionary word.
It says, ponder, consider the consequences
of going through that door of her house.
There's a fee. There's a folly fee you have to pay. The folly fee. That's right.
Satan's there. They collect the folly fee. Pay up. What do you pay with? This says you pay with your blessings and maybe the years of your life.
That's where this gets really serious.
This is wake up call.
So there's a voluntary loss, a voluntary nature of loss through succumbing to temptation. There's a price you pay. And all of us need
to ponder the seriousness of this. It says, uh, lest thou give, that's the first part. Second part, your honor to others.
Satan will rob you of your honor and laugh at you.
Right, while he's doing it. Yes.
He'll tarnish your reputation
and just giggle that you were that foolish.
Why give him the pleasure?
And thy years unto the cruel, that's the third segment.
If you continue, if you continue down the path, the wrong path, we talked yesterday about the path, if you continue down that path, and you're doing it deliberately, persistent, long-term, consistent, traveling down the wrong path with no repentance, and repeatedly entering the door.
I'm not talking about a one-time occurrence. I'm talking about repeated, persistent, long-term behavior.
What this is saying is that sin will rob the years of your life unto the cruel.
What does that mean?
The cruel speaks of the harsh outcome of sinning in rebellion against God.
There's a harsh outcome.
It's not God who's doing it to you, it's Satan.
Satan's cruel.
God is merciful and kind.
Satan's cruel.
But what this is saying is, you go through the door
and you do it long enough and often
enough at some point Satan will have the opportunity to be extremely cool to you.
Verse 10, let strangers be filled with thy wealth and thy labors be in the house of a
stranger.
Yes.
So, this part one, let strangers be filled.
This says you'll lose your resources to strangers.
Strangers, again, are people outside the kingdom,
outside the covenant, lest you lose your resources
to people outside the covenant through your foolishness.
This is the strangers be filled.
The word filled here is feast.
They have a party.
They eat your blessings. Right.
Think of indulgent consumption, pigging out. We would say that the pig is out.
All right.
If you said, hey, we all pigged out at the buffet,
you know what that meant.
It's gluttony, okay? So strangers outside the covenant will practice gluttony
devouring your blessings.
Yes.
It really puts it in a different context now, doesn't it? It's like, yuck, it's don't look good.
Again, stranger speaks of those outside God's covenant.
Right.
So it's saying if you, if you, um, persistently, consistently longterm
associate with people outside the covenant
and allow them to tempt you
and bring you into a place of sin.
Those same strangers will eat your blessings.
Yes.
Your wealth.
And that's what the next part.
Thus the strangers be filled with thy wealth.
The wealth signifies the blessings that are in your life.
People outside the covenant will consume them.
And Satan will say, they have a right to it
You voluntarily gave it up. Yes by going through that door in her house
Because the see Satan will tell you the Word of God told you not to do it
You fool I gotcha
If there's anything in this verse it's telling us the value of what is at stake.
And it's again, it's thy house, your house, your blessings, your wealth. I mean, your wealth. Thy wealth. It's yours, personal. It's coming after your blessings.
And the third segment is,
and thy labors be in the house of a stranger.
All right, so now,
he's laying out some very practical stuff here.
Thy wealth, thy labors.
That's, you know, we generalize it by saying blessings,
but these are real things in the real world.
Do you like losing money?
Break the covenant then.
Do you like sewing to the wind?
Hang out with the strange woman, the strange man.
That's very practical advice from just day-to-day living.
Now, you're counting the spiritual aspects of it.
There's a physical cost to falling.
There's a physical cost in this life and in the life to come, but in this life, there's
a physical cost to falling.
Yes. So, Donk, this, uh, and, and your labors go to the house of a foreigner, and thy labors be in the house of a stranger.
To me, it says that you'll end up working for people outside the covenant of God to pay your folly fee.
Hmm. Jesus Jesus help us.
It's sobering in it.
Yeah.
See the house of the foreigner, that's an alien domain.
It doesn't say the house of a brother or sister,
the house of a foreigner.
So you end up basically enslaved labor to pay your folly fee.
Yeah.
Verse 11, and thou mourn at the last when thy flesh and thy body are consumed.
The world English Bible, you will groan at the latter end when your flesh and your body are consumed. The World English Bible, you will groan at the latter end when your flesh and your body are consumed.
First segment, and thou mourn.
You will groan.
This talks about the person's response, the person that persistently, consistently, for a long time, knowingly went the wrong way.
That that person will mourn, will groan.
Why? They have to pay the folly fee.
There's emotional anguish at the cost of sin.
So mourn, groan means intense sorrow.
There's great pain, emotional pain for sin. And so it's a warning to all of us.
And again, don't think this is just sexual temptation because it's talking about a strange
woman and her lips and all that.
Again, for years, that's what I thought it meant
okay don't hear don't go near the house of a loose woman all right doesn't matter
how beautiful shit just stay away from her I thought that's what this was
about but I as you study the word you you realize these are metaphors.
This covers a wide range of temptation.
Again, don't say to yourself, I would never do that sin.
First of all, the Bible warns against having that kind of pride.
Because the moment Satan hears you say that, guess what he does?
He brings that temptation to you.
So just because you're not weak in a particular area, you're weak in something else.
And don't tell me you're not weak in something
because that means you're a liar.
We're all weak in something.
Satan knows the weak weakness. He knows that he knows the
Vulnerabilities that's where he brings the strange woman with lips flowing with honey
Again, it's not a female
She represents
the foolishness
Of succumbing to temptation.
That's what she represents.
So there's a personal cost of sin.
Again, there's a thou in there, a you.
This has got our names on it, individual
names. This is personalized. Yes. And you will gro, at your latter end. It's not
necessarily talking about the end of your life, it's talking about at the end of
your folly. There's a time span, there's a lifespan on the folly.
And that lifespan, when that expires, then Satan starts biting.
He's got you far enough down the road that he can now take chunks. In fact, the next part of the verse says,
when thy flesh and thy body are consumed. Yeah, this is Satan chewing on you. He's sinking
his teeth into you now. That's right. He's consuming you. What does that look like? Does it mean he's physically pulling chunks of flesh? No, he's
pulling your life apart. Right. He's devouring your life, your family, your home, your business,
your job, your career, your relationships, your friends. He's devouring it. Right.
He's devouring it. Right. And yet even though that's happening in this life, that in pursuit of folly, that happens in this life, there's the implication here
in verse 11. We're also talking about that final judgment too. Yes. That you're
going to be mourning in the judgment. And in the judgment, your flesh and your
body are going to be consumed. And we have that reaffirmed in the New Testament where Jesus in the Gospel talks about how you got eternal worms that are munching on you forever.
And so, you know, it's not just in this life but in the life to come.
You're going to find yourself on the final day, morning,
and your flesh being consumed forever. Forever. Forever.
First 12, how have I hated instruction? Well, let me back this up. And say, how have I hated instruction and my heart despise reproof and say this is the
expression of regret and what are you regretting that you hated instruction, that you despise reproof.
Say there's an outward expression coming from your heart.
It's in your mind, goes in your heart,
what's in your heart comes out your mouth.
There's an outward expression of regret.
And it speaks of the inevitability of regret.
When you go through the door of the house of a strange woman whose lips are dripping
with honey, it's saying you will regret it.
Sooner or later, you will regret it.
The second part is how have I hated instruction.
The foolishness of rejecting wisdom.
Everybody here, you should commend yourself
that you're here in this class.
None of us are immune to the vulnerability,
this acceptability to temptation.
But the fact that we're gathering in a class says,
oh God, please help me.
Please help me.
Please keep me from going down this road.
If you're not in a class like this, you're really vulnerable.
You're very vulnerable.
So there's a how have I hated instruction, this remorse for ignoring, disregarding God's
wisdom.
Hate it says that's a strong aversion yes strong word and your heart despised
reproof your heart refused to accept correction it was scornful of discipline.
There's contempt for discipline.
That indicates an inner rebellion.
So that opens up a whole other door to explore.
That opens up a whole other door to explore. The reason you despise reproof is because deep inside you is rebellion.
So now you got to get to that level.
You got to deal with the rebellion. Right. Verse 13, and have not obeyed the voice of my teachers nor inclined my ear to them that
instructed me.
Part one, and have not obeyed Ignored divine guidance
And have not obeyed
Again that it's saying you you will express remorse for rejecting instruction
Obeyed that word conveys the need for submission
see that when you're at your weakest is when you need to obey the most
when you are at your weakest is when you need to obey the most because Satan is ready to spring the trap.
Yes.
So there's the foolishness, the folly of rebellion. have not, right? That's past tense. That speaks of past failure to obey. Have not. It means
that there's a trail behind you of not obeying.
What?
The voice of my teachers.
Right.
The source of wisdom.
Your supreme teacher is the Holy Spirit.
I did not obey the voice of the Holy Spirit, nor incline mine ear to them that instructed
me.
Again, you didn't remember we studied yesterday, turn your ear, incline your ear, turn, listen.
So you didn't turn your ear towards the Holy Spirit.
That turn, as we talked about yesterday, means a deliberate action to pay attention.
And then verse 14. I was almost in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly. This is interesting. I was almost in all evil in the midst
of the congregation and assembly. Let's unpack this one. This one's interesting, Doc. I was almost.
I was almost. The nearness of to ruin.
I was near ruin.
I was almost.
In other words, saying I have come to the brink of ruination.
The brink is the critical threshold.
I was almost at the brink, the threshold of being ruined.
It speaks of the peril of sins progression
And that when you are near that stage you have to act swiftly and
Pull yourself back from the cliff of destruction.
Think of somebody stumbling in the darkness,
the darkness of folly, of foolishness.
And one more step, they go over a cliff.
And they get to that cliff and they snap out of it.
If I had taken another step, I'd gone, I would have fallen a thousand feet.
That's what this is saying.
I have come to the brink of utter ruin. I was almost in all evil.
In all evil of foolishness.
Remember, Satan's ultimate purpose is your destruction.
He's not content with just roughing you up.
He'll gladly do it whenever he gets a chance, but his burning desire is your ultimate destruction.
In all evil, it means utter ruin.
I was almost in utter ruin. All utter utter means all. It means had I taken that next step there was no return. Satan would break your legs,
break your arms, crack your skull, break your ribs.
You're not just going to fall down and scratch your knees.
He's going to break your bones.
You're not getting up. You're that close.
In the midst of the congregation and assembly.
This says, you were on the brink of total ruin in the midst of the public congregation.
That's how close you came.
In the midst, it conveys in the message of visibility.
So you're close to it.
You're really close to it.
And another step you would have gone into it.
Remember, Satan's plan is to completely utterly destroy your life.
This makes me have compassion on people, Doc. Not to be judgmental, but to be humble and to realize the consequences, the human consequences that come upon us when we allow this metaphor, this woman,
this strange foreign woman with lips dripping with honey, we allow this to come upon us. Okay. Sherri says, humble compassion.
Yes.
Yeah.
Satan always goes for the kill.
Agreed.
I'm reading the chats that are posting here.
Any final words, Doc? Well, just in that last verse there, verse 14, over the past, really now, 40 years, it's actually gone on longer than that, but with mass media and everything,
sometimes there are prominent Christian leaders that fall into sin and their sin gets exposed to the, if you will, to the world, to the congregation and the assembly.
And the real cost in this life, they could do amazing things afterwards. They could
they could win the world afterwards, but everyone's going to remember their sin.
Yes. That's the tragedy of folly.
And it doesn't have to be sexual sin.
It could be any number of things.
But since people are so focused on sex in this day and age,
it's an easy target.
It's something, certainly not excusing any behavior
or anything like that.
So don't think I'm doing that.
I'm just saying that you can,
and I could name names and stuff, but there's no sense. You know the names.
Prominent Christian leaders who have fallen into sin in various degrees and have been exposed.
And they could have done great things afterwards. Wonderful things, amazing things. In fact, I can name several that have probably
a greater impact after they fell than before they fell.
And yet generally the world and even the Christian community
will remember their sin.
Now, the question is, is it okay to remember that?
Yeah, because it's a warning for the rest of us
that your name, your reputation,
your character matters as a testimony, as a witness in the world around us. And so,
and actually in some ways, there's great mercy and exposure because there are some that could
have died in their sin. Yes, and that's true, Doc.
But I also believe that one reason people constantly remind others about somebody else's sin,
it makes them feel good that their sin hasn't been exposed.
You got it. Okay, that's the danger. How would you like the door of your life to be opened up?
Every detail, every financial transaction, every thought that you've thought,
would you like that exposed? It humbles you. It really, really does. Yes. So don't take delight.
Just don't take delight. Don't talk about it, you know, because one day if you do,
your sins will be exposed. Yes. So that's what you have to think about. Amen.
have to think about. You know, prophet Daniel said in the last days, great teachers will stumble, but it's for their refinement. So we're in a period of time.'ve got to we've the Christians aren't really well known for
their compassion towards broken people boy what a shame that is too I'm
isn't that the fact we're just not known for our compassion towards broken people. We tend to kill our wounded.
The modern church in America is known for its political zeal.
That's what we're known for.
Politics.
But we're not known for compassion.
And the world looks at it and goes, I don't want to be one of you guys.
I don't blame them.
If that's it, if that's it.
I don't know.
We're not presenting Christ to a lost world in an appealing way.
So we, all of us should be doing some inner soul searching about our attitudes towards others.
I,
I just every day I'm working,
I'm trying every day to be more compassionate, more considerate, thinking of others more.
You know, how am I, am I thinking of myself too much? I'm not thinking of somebody else.
And it really, you've got to work at it. It's just you have to work at it. Right. So,
all right, well, that's it for today. Tomorrow is
Faith Friday. Amen. We're going to go back, yeah, another lesson from Daniel.
And Doc, are we doing a prayer meeting tonight? We are Rick. 8 p.m. Eastern time
and it'll be here on the Morning Manna channel. So if you're looking for it, I'll
have an announcement on Faith and Values community
shortly after we finish our live Morning Manna here
this morning, but we invite you,
if you're a part of the Faith and Values community,
or if you are just interested in prayer,
we invite you to come join us at 8 p.m. Eastern time
here on Faith and Values, faithandvalues.com,
and we'd love to have you because tonight we're gonna be
focusing on praying for you.
And so we'll be praying for us too,
but we'll be focusing on praying for you specifically
this week.
And so we just ask that you join in together.
We usually have a pretty good number of people
that join us for prayer.
And it's been about a month
since we've been able to get together because of our travels and everything
over the past few weeks. But we'll get back together again
tonight 8 p.m. on faithandvalleys.com so we invite you to join us.
And we also invite you to join us tomorrow. Reminder that tomorrow
in addition to being Faith Friday,
is also the Lord's Supper.
So if you have not had the opportunity
to participate in the Lord's Table in communion,
we'd love to have you to be a part of that tomorrow.
If you're a confessing believer in Jesus Christ
and you've been baptized in water
according to the scriptures,
then we invite you to participate
in the Lord's table tomorrow.
Have bread and either red wine or grape juice to join us for the Lord's table.
We'd love to have you.
Rick, any final words or thoughts today before we depart?
I'm just looking at the chat and I'm just thinking how grateful I am that our Father
saved John Mark's life.
Amen.
You realize that we could be talking about his death?
Yes.
Okay. Yeah, so that's a reminder to all of us how Satan is seeking to take us out, okay?
How quickly we can leave this world.
You wouldn't think taking a walk down the sidewalk, right, that a car would hit you,
okay? But that's what happens. that a car would hit you. Okay.
But that's what happens. Just a normal morning,
but the guy lost control of his car and hit him
and threw him into a wall.
He could have died.
He could have died.
All I can think is, you know,
an angel got between John Mark and the car
and another angel between John Mark and the car and another angel between
John Mark and the wall and softened the blow.
So it's a humbling lesson to all of us that life is precious and that we can leave this
world at any moment and that there is an enemy actively looking for the opportunity
to take you out.
To steal your wealth, to kill you, destroy your reputation.
And to kill your body.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So, praise God.
We have a wonderful Heavenly Father.
We'll see you tomorrow. Tonight we got a prayer meeting at 8 PM Eastern time.
It'll be for 30 minutes, 8 to 8.30.
And we'll be back here tomorrow morning for Morning Madam.
God bless you.
We love you.
We'll see you then.
