Good morning. Welcome to morning manna hits Thursday and we are getting near the the end
of the week. That means tomorrow is a Friday and also Holy Communion. We will have a prayer
meeting tonight on faith and values. 8pm. Right? 8pm. It'll be I will keep it brief
less than 30 minutes.
But we would like to get together with you at 8 p.m. tonight.
Also, for those of you who watch or listen to Morning Manna
at a different time than 8 a.m. Eastern,
perhaps you're watching or listening on X or Rumble or
Getter or Facebook, whatever social media platform you're using.
I want you to know that we are now streaming at 10 AM and
3 PM, a repeat of this class that goes out at 8 to 9 AM.
We're re-streaming it,m. Eastern 3 p.m. Eastern
and currently on two channels the true news channel
and
A new morning mana channel
And i'm asking you to migrate
If you're using the true news channel
particularly at 3 p.m. I'm asking you to migrate over to the morning manna channel.
Both are going out simultaneously on the same platforms.
The reason is we're going to retire the true news stream and just only have the morning manna stream. I'm not going to do it tomorrow
Not going to do it monday
But sometime in the foreseeable future
So i'm going to spend a couple weeks to give everybody time
to find us over at the new
channel on
Your favorite social media platform. It's Morning Manna.
Look for it.
And because I don't want to cut off the true news feed
and then you don't know where we're at.
Right.
So I'm giving you plenty of time to migrate over
to the new Morning Manna stream at 10 a.m.
and 3 p.m. Eastern time
on your favorite social media channel.
And of course, you can join us here at faithandvalues.com
for the live class, and you can join in the chat right now.
We're at 263, 264 people chatting right now,
and that will be climbing here in the next few minutes
as more classmates come on board
and
We'll probably pick up another hundred here in the next few minutes anyhow
That's our housekeeping messages for this morning
and um, also want to remind everybody
Morning manna is our this is our flagship podcast now.
All right.
We don't have true news.
And for 26 years, true news was the locomotive
that pulled the train.
Now it's Morning Manor.
Morning Manor is in the front.
And that means that if the entire financial support of this
ministry rests on the shoulders of the people who are watching or listening to
morning manna there's nobody else out there now all the news people who said
we're not interested in the Word of God. We only want news.
They're gone, they've left.
And it's now you, which I'm delighted
because I know now I'm talking to an audience
that desires the word of God.
It's the Gideon 300, right?
Yes, where before I was trying to get thousands of people to get a hunger a taste for the Word of God. I don't have to do that now. They're gone
they've left they've departed and
This entire ministry is now resting on the people who are accessing and
Listening to or watching morning manna. So we're, if you're not a donor,
if you're not a contributor,
we're asking you to become one
because everything now depends on you.
Okay, so there's nobody else out there
to keep this ministry going.
Even though the hardcore true news audience is gone,
our expenses are not gone. Even though the hardcore true news audience is gone,
our expenses are not gone. The bills still show up and we've got to continue.
I'm not worried.
Hey, I've been listening to these classes myself.
Praise God.
Faith Friday, you know, I'm listening to Faith Friday also.
It's gotta go through you first, doesn't it?
Yeah, I'm building my faith also, and I'm trusting that the Lord will provide.
I have no doubt in my mind. In fact, I think this is going to become much bigger.
Amen. I agree.
It's going to become much bigger. So we're in a transitions phase right now. And we, we need your help,
we need your support. So go to faith and values, there's a donate button there. You can also
do it at True News. It all goes to the same source at the same account, and it will support
this ministry, faith and values fellowship. Okay, so we are in, we're going to wrap up the 15th
chapter of Romans today. And on Monday, we will begin chapter 16. And, you know, probably by
Wednesday, we will be finished the book of Romans. Praise God. Wow. It's been quite a journey. It's been, yes, been quite a journey. It's taken us five
months, hasn't it? We started in January, didn't we? Yes. If I recall. Okay. So five
months in the book of Romans. And I, for myself, I'll tell you, I've learned, I have, this
has been, this hasn't been the easiest book for me to teach. I've told you that
from the beginning, but I have learned. I'm glad that we've done it. I'm glad that we did it.
It's a beautiful book. It really is. It is. So let's finish up chapter 15.'m gonna pray Doc is gonna read the Word of God verses 28
through 33. Yes sir. Almighty God our dear Heavenly Father, Father we thank you we
praise you we glorify you we magnify you we bless your name Father we come to you
as sons and daughters who are grateful that you have forgiven our
sins.
You have washed them away with the blood of Christ.
You remember them no more, and you see us as perfect.
We bless you, Father.
We praise you and glorify you.
Thank you, Father, for writing our names in the book of life.
Thank you for providing our daily needs.
Father, you are a good Father.
And now, Father, we ask that you teach us your Word.
Teach us about your Son, Jesus Christ.
Teach us about His Kingdom.
And make us strong and mighty disciples to represent Jesus Christ to a dying world.
In the name of Jesus, we pray, amen.
Amen and amen.
For those of you that have come in a little delayed here,
I would just like to remind you tonight,
we'll be getting together for prayer here on Faith and Values at 8 p.m.
We'd love to have you join us.
It'll be on the Morning Man of Channel,
and you'll see an invitation popping up later this morning
for everyone to join us.
If you've got your Bibles,
let's open up the Word of God this morning.
We are in chapter 15, finishing up chapter 15 today.
As you're turning to that, we wanna send greetings
to our friends in Russia, South Korea, Philippines, Brazil.
We have a viewer from Portugal today, which I can't recall if we've
had one from Portugal before.
But welcome to everyone across the world and across the US and Canada.
Thanks for joining us this morning for Morning Man Alive.
And for those that are watching us on delay,
we pray the Lord's blessing on you too and
know that the word of God will have its effect on you as well.
And so verse 28 is where we're starting today in Romans chapter 15.
When therefore I perform this and have sealed to them this fruit, I will come by you into
Spain. And I'm sure that when I come unto you, I
shall come in the fullness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ. Now I
beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ's sake and for the love of the
Spirit that you strive together with me in your prayers to God for me, that I may
be delivered from them that do not believe in Judea, and that my
service which I have for Jerusalem may be accepted of the saints, that I may come unto
you with joy by the will of God, and may with you be refreshed. Now the God of peace be
with you all. Amen. Verse 28, When therefore I have accomplished this,
and have sealed to them this fruit,
I will go on by way of you to Spain.
So yesterday we talked about Paul's journey.
He was on his way to Spain,
but he was gonna stop over in Rome for some R&R.
He needed rest.
But before he went to Rome,
he had to stop in Jerusalem to make.
Yes, he had to stop in Jerusalem and then on to Rome.
And when he got to Rome,
he planned to just kick back
and relax and enjoy the fellowship of the Roman Christians.
And then he was on his way to Spain.
Right.
The busy man, a determined man,
a man that had a mission, a purpose,
A man that had a mission, a purpose, a very strong will that was submitted. See he had a strong will, but it was submitted to God.
Amen.
There's nothing wrong with a strong will.
In fact, God works with strong willed people.
Thank God he does. Yes.
Many of the tasks that he has to be performed
requires a strong-willed person,
but that strong-willed person has to be
in submission to his will.
If you remember, Ezekiel,
God said, I'm sending you to your people.
I'm not sending you to a foreign country.
I'm sending you to your people.
You speak their language, but they're hard headed.
But Ezekiel, I'm going to make your forehead harder than their forehead. And the two of you are gonna butt heads,
but your head is gonna be stronger than their head.
Right.
Now he didn't say it in all those words.
That's a paraphrase.
The point I'm making is God used Ezekiel
because Ezekiel had a strong will.
And God said, I'm actually going to supersize it. I'm going to strengthen your determination
because the people you're going up against, your own people,
they're going to be so stubborn, so hard headed that a weak person wouldn't be able to deal with them.
That's right.
So the Lord sends people, He knows each of our characteristics, our wills,
and He sends us on tasks that we're suited for.
But if you have a strong will, your will has to be submitted to Christ.
If you have a weak will, it has to be submitted to Christ. Every knee must bow, every tongue must
confess that Christ is Lord. So anyhow, Paul was a strong-willed man. He was traveling around Europe
He was a strong-willed man. He was traveling around Europe and the area
we now call the Middle East, parts of the world
at that time were called Asia, Asia Minor, Turkey,
and so forth Greece and
Now he's he's on his way to to do to well, he's going to Jerusalem to drop off a gift
Then he's going to Rome
For some rest and relaxation that he's back to work. It's going to Spain to establish churches
So he this is a very meticulous plan, and he's got to complete the delivery to Jerusalem
of the gift from the Gentile churches in Macedonia.
So in verse 28, when he's talking about the this, wherefore when I performed this, he's
talking about I've got to drop this offering off in Jerusalem for the saints.
I've got the money, the money that was raised in Okia and Macedonia from the Gentiles Christians who sent this generous gift to the Jewish Christians
in Jerusalem. And so he said, when therefore I have performed this,
this is the talking about dropping off the funds and have sealed to them this fruit.
I will come by you into Spain."
So you see a combination here of Paul's commitment
to stewardship and missionary zeal.
He's being a good steward. The Christians in Macedonia and Uchaya said, here Paul, we trust
you with this money. Would you take it down to Jerusalem? I mean, look at a map. It's quite a
journey. Yes, it's no short hike. It would have been shorter from Macedonia to go to Rome.
Yes, that's a good point.
I mean he went way out of his way to deliver this money.
There was no other way to get it there.
And think about this, he probably wrote this while he was in Corinth.
So once again, it would have been faster
to travel from Corinth to Rome.
That would take a big, long detour.
But he had a mission to accomplish,
a goal to accomplish there with delivering that offering.
So if we're to assume that he wrote this while he was in Corinth for a few months, according to
book Vax, then he went south and then he went west. So what we don't know, Doc, is how this all came about with the donations.
Was it Paul's idea or did it just organically
grow up inside the churches of Macedonia and Ukiah?
And the congregations said, who do we trust? Who could we send?
Paul, Paul would do it
Or did paul encourage them to make the donation and volunteer himself to go to Jerusalem. We don't know
Right doesn't really matter
Uh, but i'm trying to give you a you know trying to look into
What that situation? May have looked like
If paul was not the originator of the idea, then
what we see here is that Paul interrupted his travel plans to accommodate
the Christians in Macedonia and Ukiah.
And he said, you know what?
This is such a generous offer.
Yes, I didn't plan to go to Jerusalem, but I'll do it.
I really, I was looking forward to Rome.
That was his goal.
That was his goal. That was his destination. It's interesting that he calls this task of providing for the saints in Jerusalem. He calls it fruit.
I have sealed to them this fruit. He's telling them, when I've delivered this gift, it's more than a gift, it's fruit. It's an offering. It's, you know, the tangible result of the gospel's grace and fellowship
being ministered from the Gentiles to poor Jewish believers in Jerusalem. Amen. So, we have,
Paul's saying, when I have performed this, when I've completed this task, when I have performed this when I've completed this task when I have fulfilled
this mission this responsibility what do we learn from this but there are times that we will be
given an assignment perhaps we we weren't you know we weren't looking for it but it came to us
Perhaps we weren't looking for it, but it came to us.
And here's your assignment.
This is what the Lord needs done.
Sometimes it's just to loan your donkey to the Lord.
Yes. The Lord sent his disciples into Jerusalem and said,
hey, go into town, you're gonna find a donkey with a colt tell the owner the Lord hath need of it all right whoever owned a
donkey we don't know who owned a donkey but that person knew this is this is
Jesus asking for it you know in that situation we again we don't know Jesus may have pulled somebody aside
a follower or disciple and said hey there's coming a day here and then in the next couple
weeks I'm going to need that donkey.
When one of my disciples comes to you he's's going to say, the Lord hath need. Okay, just understand that's going to be the code word,
the Lord hath need.
He probably prearranged it.
We don't know.
But the point I'm making is there are times when we were
asked to do something for the Lord.
When we're asked to do something for the church at large,
there's a responsibility. Yes, there's a responsibility.
Yes.
There's a duty.
And so we have a responsibility to fulfill the mission, to complete the task, even though
it wasn't on our to-do list.
Right.
And isn't it my experience here, maybe it's just me, but I think he would find this too, Rick,
that the Lord doesn't allow you to go to new frontiers until
you've fully accomplished the assignment that he's currently given you.
Sometimes he has to take you back again and again and again until you obey the assignment.
Yes. And so Paul completed
he, we know he
completed the task of delivering that offering
to Jerusalem.
But he still had full intent to go
to Rome and Spain, but there
was another assignment the Lord had for him
in that. But you know what, he couldn't go
to Rome and couldn't go to Spain until he
accomplished that
task. That's the point of making. and couldn't go to Spain until he accomplished that task.
That's the point I'm making.
He couldn't go on to his plan until he fulfilled somebody else's plan.
He had a sense of responsibility.
I will do this.
This is the right thing. So we talked about earlier, he called it this fruit.
The fruit, I think he's talking about the,
this is the tangible evidence of the Gentile generosity
towards their Jewish brethren.
Right.
This is an act of generosity that is knitting together the Gentile Christians with the Jewish Christians.
He said, sealed to them this fruit.
Sealed, okay, so I think what Paul's saying here, you can help me on this, Doug. I think he's saying that he's authenticating the contribution as a sacred offering, that
this is spiritual fruit.
I've sealed to them this fruit.
It's almost a legal or covenant act.
It's exactly what that word means. That word sealed right there from the Greek is the same
sort of word that's used whenever there was a document completed and a governor or a king or a magistrate
wanted to confirm the document, they placed a wax seal on it. The Spargitso, they placed a wax seal
on it that had the imprint of the magistrate or the ruler or whatever it is that confirmed
that that document was authentic, that it had been completed,
that it was done. So it is a legal term, exactly. So, but in all these areas, saying, you know
what, I'm going to see this all the way through, I'm going to deliver this fruit to Jerusalem,
and I'm going to confirm that the people of God in the city of Jerusalem have their needs met.
And did the container that had the money,
did it have a seal?
No, no.
So that when Paul got to Jerusalem, he goes,
look, it's sealed.
But think about it as he-
I didn't buy a hamburger with this. Yeah, that's right. He didn't dip into it or
anything. But think about it. He all that he hauled that money all the way from Turkey to Jerusalem.
Okay, no small task on its own. Because I think of all the thieves and robbers and ne'er do wells
that you might encounter along the way,
and you're hauling a good offering, it was probably significant, I would think.
But Paul was going to confirm, I'm going to confirm this delivery on behalf of all the saints.
Well, I would think, Doc, it had to be significant enough that Paul said,
Well, I would think, Doc, it had to be significant enough that Paul said, all right, I will interrupt my plan and I will travel.
Yeah.
From Turkey to Jerusalem.
That's a good point.
That's a good point.
I mean, he wasn't going to do it for $1.25.
But if it was the equivalent of $50,000 or $100,000, yes, he's like, I have to take this.
And he walked it there.
Yes, he walked it.
There's in this phrase, sealed,
sealed to them this fruit,
there's an eschatological connotation.
The act of sealing is a foretaste of unified worship that this is where the
church is going in the last days. A unified church, unified worship of King Jesus.
Paul said he would come to you into Spain,
come by you into Spain.
Oh, he's revealing it again,
he's forward looking mission.
I'm going to come by you into Spain.
I'm gonna make a loop into Rome
to see you, to rest, relax, fellowship,
and then I'm gonna pick up my suitcase
and I'm on my way to Spain.
Verse 29,
and I am sure that when I come unto you, I shall come in the fullness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ.
Now Paul expresses his confident expectation that his visit to the Roman church will overflow with abundant
blessings that come from the gospel of Jesus Christ.
He's speaking with his apostolic mantle.
He says, I am sure. That means I know, I'm certain.
He was confident.
I am certain, I am sure, I know.
Know what?
That he had unwavering faith in God's provision.
And he was encouraging disciples to favoring faith in God's provision.
And he was encouraging disciples to approach fellowship
with trust in divine outcomes,
to seek reliance on God's guidance.
When I come unto you.
He's expressing again his longing for personal relationship. For fellowship.
When I come unto you.
Paul really desired to go to Rome.
It was in his heart for years.
He said earlier in chapter heart for years. He said earlier in chapter 15, for years. This wasn't a whim.
He had been thinking about this for years. Is there any place you have desired to go
for years? Is there somebody that really means a lot to you that you haven't seen for years?
You think about it like I'm going to go there someday. This is what was happening in Paul's
life. The fullness of the blessing. The fullness of the blessing. Amen. He's talking about been a full blessing. Yeah a blessing is pretty good
But paul said the fullness of the blessing an overflowing spiritual abundance
Um the trans more transformative power of the gospel salvation peace joy
he says this is when i get there there's going to be a fullness of the blessing
this i know i shall come in the fullness of the blessing of the gospel of Christ.
He's actually saying he's transporting the blessing. Yes. He's transporting a financial
gift to Jerusalem, but he's transporting a blessing to Rome, a spiritual blessing to Rome.
a blessing to Rome, a spiritual blessing to Rome.
He wasn't cocky or arrogant. He's just saying, I know who I am. I know the apostolic calling on me.
I know the presence of God on me. When I get get to Rome there's going to be an outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
And he needed it because he was going to Rome to be refreshed.
And he needed it because he was going to Rome to be refreshed. And he knew that the only true refreshing is an outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
The fullness of the blessing, the blessing of what?
Of the gospel of Christ.
If you're going to get a full blessing, make sure it's of the gospel of Christ.
Yes.
So this connects the full blessing to the good news of grace, truth, power, the love
of God, the hope of glory.
So Paul, what we learn here is that we should anticipate spiritual renewal in fellowship.
Look, being separated, being lonely, being away from people is not good.
It's not good.
If you're living a lonely life, if you're living separated from other Christians, you got to change it.
Yes, absolutely.
It will have a very detrimental effect on you over time.
The enemy wants to separate and isolate.
Yes. God is always saying, no, I want you to fellowship. There's spiritual strength
in fellowshipping and being with other like-minded Christians.
So right now, in the live class, we've gone up to 352 people.
There are 352 people with Doc and me right now
in fellowship, talking to each other in the chat room.
You're in fellowship, you're talking. You're communicating. And
after this is over, a lot of you will continue your communication. This morning manna classroom
is actually a place for Christians to connect from around the world. See, you don't have to be separated and lonely.
And that's one of the reasons we're keeping this platform going.
Right.
For some of you, it's the only fellowship you have.
But there is spiritual power in fellowshipping with other Christians.
We should also recognize that the gospel has the power to bless beyond measure.
I mean, there's just power in the gospel itself There's always abundant life where the gospel is present the full gospel
And we have to recognize that the full gospel means the Holy Spirit is present. The Holy Spirit is
the source of this fullness
Without the Holy Spirit you can't have the blessing.
And a full gospel unites the church.
And this is what Paul was doing with the Jewish Christians and the Gentile Christians.
They're being united through this fellowship.
Verse 30, Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ's sake and for the love of the
Spirit, that you strive together with me in your prayers to God for me. I beseech you, I beg you.
for me. I beseech you, I beg you." He's pleading, I beg of you.
This is a, verse 30 marks a shift as Paul now earnestly pleads with the Roman Christians to pray for him.
And he says, pray for me for the sake of Jesus Christ.
That's a pretty bold statement.
Yes. Pray for me for the sake of Jesus Christ.
And he said, and for the love of the
Spirit. Paul knew who he was he knew the importance of his mission he understood
that the gravity of his mantle he knew he had been called to be an apostle.
He wasn't arrogant about it, but he didn't have fake humility.
He said, yeah, I'm an apostle.
Isn't that the attitude today? I'm an apostle. I have superpowers. Paul said I am an apostle, but he also said I'm
the chief of sinners. In other words, he was saying I'm not somebody special. God has put this
anointing on me, but I know who I am without God. I am the worst sinner on earth. Right. But God has put this apostolic
anointing on me and and I'm not going to allow my sinful nature to hinder me from living and
walking in this apostolic anointing. And Paul's ministry is a perfect example
that he didn't do this alone.
He viewed as co-laborers in this ministry, the folks up
in Macedonia and Archaea.
But he also viewed the folks in Rome
that he'd never met up to this point as partners with him
in ministry.
Strive together with me., strive together with me.
Strive together with me.
Work together with me.
How could Rome, how could believers in Rome strive together with him other than to pray
and to intercede on his behalf before the Father?
Yes.
And again, he said, I beseech you.
That means I beg you. So he's, he's, he's expressing
his vulnerability. If I say to you, I beg you to do this. What does that convey? It conveys I'm vulnerable and I need help.
Paul's saying, I beg you for the sake of Jesus Christ, for the love of the Holy Spirit, that
you strive together with me in your prayers to God with for me strive together with me in prayers to God for me
He's being very blunt I am begging you to pray for me
You have no idea what I'm facing. You have no idea the pressure. You have no idea the demonic attacks. You have no idea. I'm
begging you, pray for me for the sake of Jesus Christ and the love of the Spirit. Right. And that
that phrase, strive together, isn't just some casual remark there saying, well, be praying for
me. No, that that word strived together is actually a Greek word that means to wrestle,
strived together is actually a Greek word that means to wrestle like in an athletic competition or if you're training for the military to wrestle to
fight hand-to-hand combat if you will and so it's more than just a casual
join together with me would pray together with me no fight together with
me let's go into combat with this.
Together, we're fighting this fight.
The Greek word, it has too many syllables for me on a Thursday morning. It's something like Sunagana Zomai.
You bet pretty close, Rick.
Are you do it?
Sunagana Zomai.
That's what I said.
That's right. That's what I said. That's right.
That's what I said pretty close. But it means to wrestle to have fight in hand to hand combat. Yes, intense struggle.
Like this. Like you are in a fight, you are struggling for
your life. That's what he's saying. I'm struggling for my life. You have no idea what's happening to me
Some of you will understand this if you are
If you're if you have experience in spiritual warfare
But the worst spiritual attacks are not physical in the natural realm. The worst
spiritual attacks are in your mind. Yes. I don't know how Satan does it, but he's able
to put pressure on people to the point of breaking, where you just feel like
you're going to collapse, you're going to break,
you can't take any more pressure.
And I think this is what Paul was experiencing.
And then, you know, I've had this for years,
I know what this is like,
but then I'll know when people are praying for me because the pressure goes away.
The darkness dissipates.
And I know people are praying for me today.
There's light that's coming in.
I'm able to function without this heavy gloom trying to weigh me down, trying to make me quit, trying to make me
give up. And suddenly there's sunshine, there's light, and I know people are praying for me.
Right. So I can understand Paul saying, I beg you, please pray for me for the love of
you, for the sake of Jesus Christ
Pray for me, please and then in verses 31 and 32 he tells him what he would like to have prayers for
Yes So we go to 31
That I may be delivered from them that do not believe in Judea
Well, who is he talking about? The Jews, the
non-believing Jews. That I may be delivered from them. That now we know why
he's saying, for the sake of Jesus Christ, I'm begging you, pray for me because I'm
on my way to Jerusalem and those Jews will try to kill me."
On the way.
And then he had no guarantee that when he got to Jerusalem, that the saints there would
accept him for who he was.
Yes, and that my service, which I have for Jerusalem, may be accepted of the saints." So he's saying, I'm not even certain that the Jewish Christians will accept me and this money.
That tells us how strong the divide still existed at that time
between the Jewish Christians and the Gentile Christians.
Paul himself a Jew, but an apostle to the Gentiles said,
I'm not, look, I got two problems when I get to Jerusalem. The hard-headed
rebellious Jews who don't believe in Jesus will try to kill me, and then when
I get to the Christians, they may not accept me because, you know my past, you know my sinful past?
They might just bring up my sinful past.
There might be some relatives there who I had their, you know, their family members
imprisoned.
There might be some hard feelings and there might be some racial prejudice that they can't as Jews accept
money from Gentiles. All this is going through his head. He's saying, I beg you, I beg you, please,
please pray for me. Does this sound like everyday life today?
Nothing's changed.
The world English Bible says that I may be delivered from those who are disobedient in
Judea and that my service which I have for Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints. So he was facing real danger from hostile,
unbelieving, rebellious Jews in Judea, not just Jerusalem,
Judea, he's got to pass through Judea they reject the gospel. Do not believe means a person who has
rejected the good news of Jesus Christ, the gospel. My service which I have for Jerusalem, he's talking about the financial gift that he's transporting.
Maybe accepted of the saints, Paul's concerned about Jewish skepticism.
He's saying, pray for harmony, pray that everything goes well.
So, you know, he takes one person in the audience to stand up and go, you know what? I don't like this guy.
And before you know it, you got a fight going on.
It only takes one person, just one
person with stinking thinking.
Yeah. That's all it takes.
And stinking thinking
spreads.
It's so difficult to get positive thinking to spread.
But negative thinking just moves quickly.
Yes, it's viral.
It is.
You don't believe me?
Put a positive tweet on social media today and see where it goes,
and then put a nasty one, and then compare the results. People will promote the nasty one.
Yeah. Just the nature of people. So Paul's asking for prayer. He's saying, hey, you know,
I don't know how long it took him to walk
to Jerusalem, but he's saying, just be praying for me. Ask the Holy Spirit to prepare the
way for me so when I get to Judea, they don't beat me up. When I get to the church in Jerusalem, they don't lock the door on me, refuse to let me in.
And the man's trying to bless them.
Yes, he's trying to bless them.
You know, you almost think, you just say, Hey, I'll send a letter down to Jerusalem, say there's
money up here in Macedonia if you want to come get it.
Isn't that the attitude?
You think, hey, I'm not even sure these people are going to accept me.
Why am I going there? there. Next verse, 32, that I may come unto you with joy by the will of God and may with
you be refreshed. Now, Paul is expressing his heartfelt desire to visit Rome to fellowship with the disciples and he wants to do it joyfully.
That I may come to you in Rome.
So you see, I'm not sure how they're going to accept me in Jerusalem.
You know, there's some hard feelings back there in Jerusalem.
There's still people that remember me as Saul.
There's still people in the Jerusalem church that don't like Gentiles coming into the church.
They know I'm out here bringing in thousands of Gentiles. I don't know how they're going to treat me when I get there, but you in Rome? Oh, I'm coming to you in joy. Yes.
coming to you in joy yes i can't wait to get you know isn't this uh what a testimony about the church in rome at that time yes and he'd never been there no
so how has the church in r changed over 2,000 years?
Well, that's not today's lesson.
But the church has changed in every country, in every city.
What we desire is to get back to having a church like it was in Rome in the time of
Paul.
Because Paul said, when I get there, I'm coming in joy through the will of God.
And together with you, we're gonna rest.
Not only is Paul gonna rest,
he said, you're gonna rest when I get there.
It's not, and that word for refreshing there
in the King James, isn't just like, well,
we're just gonna have a few days of R&R and kind of move on.
It actually means to be fully refreshed.
You ever have a couple of days off and you never,
and you don't feel fully refreshed, you know,
or you have a weekend and you meant to relax and everything and you did relax a little bit
But you didn't get the full refreshing
Relaxing well Paul saying I want to be refreshed and it's not just me. I want you to be refreshed too. It's mutual
Yes
so he's saying look pray for me that I
Complete my mission in Jerusalem and I get out of there still inside my skin with all my limbs.
And if I succeed in that, it'll be because of your prayers.
And then I'm hoofing it all the way to Rome, and I'm going to rest, and you're going to rest with me,
and we're going to be blessed.
Amen.
There was something about the Roman Christians
that was good.
Paul, the way he's talking, they're good.
There's something good going on there in Rome.
By the will of God, he's talking about his submission to divine timing, that
he trusts in God's sovereignty, but he knows that there are uncertainties along the way.
Things could go wrong. But he said, I'll be there by the will of God.
That with you, that may with you be refreshed.
He's talking about a spiritual and emotional renewal. See, your spirit needs to be refreshed. Your emotions need to be refreshed. It's hard
for your spirit to be at peace and restful when your emotions aren't. Right. Your emotions
need to be at rest. Your emotions need to be renewed. I mean, look at the tragedy of so many soldiers who come home with trauma.
Yes.
They can't get rest because of what they saw, what they experienced. Well, preachers like Paul, Paul experienced a lot of trauma.
And even though his spirit was strong, his emotions were stretched.
They were taxed.
I mean, you got people trying to kill you.
It will affect you.
Yes.
It'll make you sleep with one eye open at night
because he never knew when somebody
was gonna sneak up on him.
That has a, that kind of relentless persecution
wears down a person.
Just wears them down.
The strongest is worn down.
And this was Paul's looking forward.
He said, may with you be refreshed.
He say, I'm not coming to Rome just for myself.
I'm coming that you're refreshed too.
Yes, it was mutual.
Yes, there's a mutual desire.
There's gonna be a mutual blessing.
Everybody is going to be blessed
if they participate in Paul's visit.
Again, he's not cocky, but he's confident. He's saying,
I'm bringing a blessing with me. When I show up, the presence of God is going to be there and we're all going to be refreshed because I know
the Lord is sending me to Rome to rest to relax but I also know that He's going
to bless you too. He's not being selfish. He's saying this is we're
together. Paul is envisioning a mutual encouragement,
a reciprocal blessing.
But Paul said, I'm not gonna hog up
this blessing for myself.
I am confident God's gonna share it with everybody.
You know, when Paul left Rome,
everybody said, what an experience.
What an experience. We hate to see you go, Paul.
We've never experienced anything like this.
Please stay. And Paul's, no, I gotta go to Spain.
But everybody got blessed.
And that mutual refreshment fostered unity.
And again, what we see here is a,
we see a foretaste, a glimpse of eternity, a rest, a rest for the people of God.
Amen.
We all need that rest.
We're all looking forward to that rest. There are many days I tell my Heavenly Father, I hope I'll do whatever you desire Father,
but I hope when we come home with you that you don't have any work for me.
I'd like just to rest.
I would just like to rest. I would just like to rest. There are days I'd tell my father, there are days
I just want to sit at your throne and put my head on your knee and do nothing else but
just rest and say, I'm with my father. I'm with my father. Nothing's going to happen. Nothing bad.
No strife, no attacks, no evil. Nothing. I'm with my father. I'm going to put my head on his
knee and just enjoy this rest.
verse 33 he ends now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.
The God of peace.
Our God is the God of peace.
Do you have turmoil in your life right now? He's the God of peace. Spiritually put your head on his knee today and enjoy that peace.
Do you know how calm it is in heaven. There's no strife, there's no commotion, there's no war,
there's no fighting, there's no arguing, nothing. It's just harmony and peace. He is the God of peace.
He is the God of peace. And we forget it. We forget that He is the God of peace. And if you don't have peace, you should pray to see it goes back to what the Lord showed me years ago. Whatever
you need, there's a there's a title. Pray to Him in that title. If you don't have peace in your life,
address Him as the God of peace. The Prince of peace. Yes, he's the Prince of Peace. I am praying to the
God of Peace in the name of the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ. I need peace. And
then I'll tell you what he's going to say to you.
Then use my name and speak to the storm and say, peace be still.
I had another one of those muscle spasms last night in my sleep.
And doc, the moment I woke up, I spoke to my muscles
and said, in the name of Jesus,
I order you to relax and be at peace.
And it stopped instantly.
Instantly.
Praise God.
I will never ever again have fear of muscle cramps in my sleep.
Speak with the authority of the God of peace.
Be with you all.
He said this is for every believer.
With everybody. Amen.
He's affirming the certainty of God's promise.
Let it be so. Let it be done. Amen. Let it be done.
God of peace.
Let's see, he'll say it again in chapter 16.
The God of peace has the power to overcome division and strife and evil.
Yes.
Is there evil and strife and division in your home? Then
pray to the God of peace and speak to your home about harmony and joy and togetherness among
the saints of God. It is God's desire that you live in peace, that your home be peaceful, your job be peaceful,
that your body be peaceful, that it not be diseased, not be in pain, your body should be a
peace, your mind should be a peace, your emotions should be a peace. Look, if you have emotional
turmoil all the time, there's something wrong.
emotional turmoil all the time there's something wrong. You know if I have extreme pain in my arm that tells me there's something wrong with
my arm.
If you have extreme pain in your emotions, that means there's something wrong.
Yes.
And it's not normal for people, especially the claim to be Christians, to be constantly
depressed or angry or upset or whatever.
It's not normal.
It's just not normal.
Don't blame it on another person.
It's not normal for any believer.
You serve the God of peace.
Amen.
Don't let other people rob your peace.
That's easier said than done. I'm not being inconsiderate of real life battles, but we
serve the God of peace. And if you keep speaking to your situation, peace will come.
to your situation, peace will come. Okay, Doc, that's it. That's chapter 15.
Tomorrow's Faith Friday. Tonight we will have a prayer meeting at 8 p.m. Eastern
for 30 minutes or less. And then tomorrow's Faith Friday plus Lord's Supper, Holy Communion. On Monday we begin chapter 16. We will probably be finished
with Romans by Wednesday and we'll see where the Lord takes us. Amen. Well, a great lesson today,
Rick. And I pray that everyone that was watching or listening today and that will watch and listen later
on today, that you would dwell in the God of peace, that you would dwell in the God
of peace and let Him dwell with you.
That was what Paul was praying for for the Roman believers and that was under the inspiration
of the Holy Spirit.
That's what we're praying for for you. May the God of peace be with you all today.
That's my desire to now. I'm sure it's Rick's desire to and we appreciate you
being here. As Rick said, tomorrow's Faith Friday. It's also where we honor
the Lord's table. So if you've got bread and either red wine or grape juice, prepare for that.
We practice communion on a weekly basis as an encouragement, as a way to bind together the
fellowship of believers, and because the Lord told us to. So as often as you do it,
do it in remembrance of me. So be prepared for that tomorrow. So any final words or comments,
Rick, before we sign off? I'm just I'm glancing at the chat and I, you know, Monica, I, you said you
were attacked in your sleep. I've had that happen to me. I know what that is straight from hell. But speak the name of Jesus in your
sleep. Your spirit will speak the name of Jesus. I don't know if you've ever had those
paralysis dreams, but I've had that where in my sleep I'm totally paralyzed and I'll
feel the Lord's hand touch my shoulder in my sleep and say, speak my name, and the paralysis will stop.
Gerald said, I have never heard the book of Romans chapter 15
expounded upon at this level at any ministry before.
Thank you, Gerald. Thank you.
Those are kind words.
Because we're building line upon line, precept upon precept. Those are kind words.
Because we're building line upon line, precept upon precept.
So we're not throwing the whole book of Romans at you.
We're taking them one bite at a time.
Remember that joke, how do you eat an elephant?
One bite at a time.
And so that's how we've been dealing with Romans.
Chapter 16 is a unique chapter.
There's a lot of names in it and everything, but
there's a lot of teaching in it too, and it's teaching that you don't hear taught
much. So it's going to be interesting next week as we finish up Roman chapter 16
and complete that journey through this book. Very, very worthwhile study, I believe. So yes.
All right, well, let's begin tonight, 8 p.m. for our global prayer meeting. So if you can, please join us. We invite you to come join us and pray with us and to believe God for even
greater things for this ministry as we move forward into the future. Any final words, Rick?
ministry as we move forward into the future. Any final words Rick?
Nope. See you tonight at at 8pm. Don't forget we're streaming at 10am and 3pm
on two channels on social media, True News and a new morning manna stream.
Find the new morning manna stream. That's going to be our home at some point in the next couple weeks we're going to disable the true news stream i don't want people to not be able to find us say what happened so
we're telling you in a couple weeks the true news stream will end and in a couple weeks the
true news.com website will become rickwiles.com, and but the morning manna will be there.
So we're in this transition stage right now.
And I'm not going to lose my peace over it.
I don't like transitions.
I want to get everything all straight and lined up in nice neat rows.
And I don't like transitions.
But I'm not going to lose my peace over it.
We'll get there when it's done.
I wanted to have all this done before we made this change,
but it didn't.
All right, so I'm not gonna get stressed over it.
Stressed.
We'll get there.
Everything's coming to, the sun came up this morning.
Even though my plan and timeline didn't come together,
the sun still came up and I'm not gonna be stressed.
So we'll get there in the next couple of weeks.
And then as we go into the summer,
I believe I'm expecting thousands of new people
to come to Morning Manum.
Yes.
I believe our best days are ahead of us, not behind us.
Look at that number of the people online right now.
You're in the last weeks or months
of ever seeing that number.
Praise God.
You'll never see it again.
You're gonna have to add a zero to it.
We're gonna add zeros to that number.
Love you.
See you later.
See you tonight for the prayer meeting.
God bless you. We love you.
