TRUNEWS with Rick Wiles - Morning Manna - May 22, 2025 - Proverbs 1:6-7 - The Fear of the Lord is the Beginning of Knowledge
Episode Date: May 22, 2025In this Thursday edition of Morning Manna, the study of Proverbs continues with an in-depth reflection on verses 6 and 7 of chapter 1. Rick Wiles and Doc Burkhart explore the three layers of these ver...ses: understanding proverbs and interpretations, valuing the words of the wise, and unraveling the meaning behind “dark sayings.” They explain how true biblical wisdom is revealed not through surface reading but by humble, Spirit-led study and meditation. The fear of the Lord is presented not as terror but as reverent awe, forming the unshakable foundation of all true knowledge. The session also underscores the danger of spiritual pride and the fate of those who reject instruction, while encouraging believers to dig deep, unwrap the treasures of Scripture, and grow in wisdom daily.Rick Wiles, Doc Burkhart. Good morning, everybody. Welcome to Morning Manna. We are delighted to have you here for
this online virtual Bible study class where brothers and sisters from around the world
meet at 8 a.m. Eastern time at faith and values.com and thousands more. Join us later.
We have several streams at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Eastern
on social media platforms.
And then of course, on the faith and values platform,
the classes there as video on demand.
Whatever methods you use, we are delighted that you're here.
I've had people tell me that they watch morning manna
at night in bed while they're preparing to go to sleep.
Whatever works for you, that's fine with us.
We're just glad that you're here.
So we have started a study of a book of Proverbs,
and we're in chapter one.
And yesterday we looked at verses one through five.
Today we're going to tackle verses six through 14,
and maybe some more depending on how the time goes
in today's lesson.
So let's pray and then Doc will read the word
and we'll begin our study.
Almighty God, our dear, wonderful Heavenly Father, Father, we pray to you with admiration
and praise and great thanksgiving, Father. We are grateful sons we've been brought into your kingdom. We're grateful that we've been made your children.
We're grateful that our sins are forgiven.
We're grateful that our names are in the Book of Life.
We're grateful that the Holy Spirit dwells in us.
We're grateful that your Son is coming for us
to restore us in the garden with you, Father.
We're grateful that you provide everything that for us to restore us in the garden with you, Father.
We're grateful that you provide everything that we need every day.
And Father, we're grateful that the Holy Spirit teaches us your Word. And so now we ask the Holy
Spirit to take his place at the head of the table of this class and instruct us in
discerning and understanding the book of Proverbs. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
Amen. All right. So we are continuing our study in Proverbs chapter one, and we started the new
book yesterday. And so if you're signing in today with us live
on our chat on Morning Manna, we started Proverbs yesterday.
You can always listen to the archives of Morning Manna
here on faithandvalues.com.
And I would encourage you to go back and listen.
I'm reading verses six through 14 of chapter one
and reading from the King James.
And it says says to understand
a proverb and the interpretation the words of the wise and their dark sayings
the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge but fools despise wisdom and
instruction my son hear the instruction of thy father and forsake not the law
of thy mother for they shall be an ornament of grace into thy head
and chains about thy neck.
My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.
If they say, come with us, let us lay wait for blood.
Let us look privily for the innocent without cause.
Let us swallow them up alive as the grave
and whole as those that go down into the pit.
We shall find all
precious substance. We shall fill our houses with spoil. Cast in thy lot among
us. Let us all have one purse. Amen.
Doug, I've got to say while you were were reading the word I can't pass this by
uh on my
on my computer screen
A pop-up ad appeared
from
Uh a major christian publisher
And the title of the book is secrets of the messiah
Secrets, huh secrets of the mess Messiah and it's written by a rabbi
Published by a Christian so-called Christian
Book publishing company secrets of the rabbi secrets secrets of the rabbi. Yeah, that's really what it is secrets of the Messiah
Okay
You see I'm pointing this out. This has nothing to do
with with the book of Proverbs. I'm just showing our class. This stuff is all over the Christian
world in the United States. It is Kabbalahism. That's what this is. It's Kabbalahism. It's sorcery. It's witchcraft. It's being
introduced into the Christian church by Jewish rabbis. And here it is being sold by a Christian
book publisher. Let me tell you, the Messiah doesn't have any secrets. No. There are no secrets in Jesus Christ. He said go into all the world
and proclaim the truth. He didn't say, conceal my secrets. He said proclaim my name, proclaim my word. Okay, that's enough. I'm not going to buy that book.
No, you're not.
No, I'm not. So I guess I really should have started with verse five. We talked about verse five yesterday. A wise man will hear and will increase learning,
and a man of understanding shall obtain wise counsel. We did five yesterday, didn't we? Okay. And so verse six is to understand a proverb and the interpretation, the words
of the wise and their dark sayings.
And Rick, this goes right in with what you opened with today.
Isn't it? Yeah. So I'll read five and six together to get the context.
A wise man will hear and will increase learning and a man of understanding shall attain under
wise counsel to understand a proverb and the interpretation, the words of the wise and their dark sayings.
That's an interesting proverb.
The phrase to understand a proverb
is highlighting the purpose of the book of Proverbs
highlighting the purpose of the book of Proverbs
is to train the human mind in grasping
concise, godly wisdom
and to encourage students seeking the knowledge of Proverbs
to approach these Proverbs with diligence and reverence. And then it adds, and the interpretation.
So to understand the Proverb and the interpretation, that speaks of the need for discernment to
uncover the deeper meanings.
These are not kabbalistic mysteries,
but God has concealed truth in His Proverbs. As Jesus concealed truth in His parables,
As Jesus concealed truth in his parables, he didn't say, you can't find it, but you had to come into his house to hear it.
He took the disciples into his house to explain the parables.
They were not explained to the general public.
Why? The general public wasn't there. They spiritually were not equipped to seek the knowledge of the of the parables. Nor did they have a desire. And they didn't have the desire.
That's that's it right there. They didn't have the desire. What they had a hunger for was physical bread.
Feed us, we're hungry.
Fish and bread, give us something.
Do some miracles for us.
We're sick.
I got a broken arm, fix me.
But the wisdom of God,
they didn't have any appetite for it.
And that's why we saw a drop-off in the people generally associated with this
ministry over many years, because once I stopped the news, they said not interested. Sorry, I'm gone. We knew this was going to
happen. I didn't. I was hoping it wouldn't happen, but I knew it was going to happen.
I knew that there were people who were connected to our ministry only for the news, not for
the word. And they made themselves known. And they were not bashful about
telling us, I'm not interested in morning manna. Sorry. And we still get emails and messages from
people saying that, letting us know, informing us. They're very unhappy with me for taking the minister.
It's really not that many, I'll be honest.
We've got a lot of good people on here.
And lots of people are going to be...
Look, viewership has dropped 50%.
That's the truth.
That's the reality.
See, most ministries wouldn't admit that. Oh, I
can't tell people that. Well, I will. This is a testimony to the people who are with
us. They say, Hey, we've got this many people who want the Word, who desire the Word. So
the other ones, they made it very clear. What they're saying to God is, I'm not interested
in your word. It's not to me, it's to God. They're saying, I'm not interested. Okay.
That's why the Lord said, stop feeding the children's food to the dogs. Where is he taking this ministry? To produce
biblical content for children. And he told me, stop feeding the children's food
to the dogs. Talking about the news. I know that's hard for some people.
But anyhow, let's get back to Proverbs.
Yes. We are to understand a proverb and the interpretation.
To me, isn't understanding and the interpretation the same thing?
But apparently it isn't.
So the interpretation requires same thing, but apparently it isn't.
So the interpretation requires spiritual discernment
to uncover and comprehend the deeper meanings.
Okay, so I get, on the surface level, I can say I understand the proverb,
but do I know the interpretation?
Right. It'd be like today someone, you know, using one of the parables of Jesus to, you know,
express an idea or something like that, but they missed the spiritual meaning behind the parable.
Yes, and I have seen some horrible
Yes, and I have seen some horrible teachings on the parables. It's like, I just want to say, brother, you missed that parable completely. You know, you don't get it. It was very, you
know, very surface level, superficial description of the parable and completely missing the deeper truths of it.
And so that's what he's talking about here, to understand the interpretation.
We have an understanding of the proverb, but we also have to have the interpretation requires discernment to uncover the deeper meanings
and that requires biblical students to seek these Proverbs with prayerful reflection and meditation beyond surface level understanding.
Okay, so I look I admit to you with a book of Romans all my whole life. I've just kind of like
skim through Romans like I don't understand this stuff. I'm going to read it. I'm supposed to read it.
I'm going to read it at a surface level understanding.
But this the class that we just finished for five months in Romans made me get my shovel out and dig.
It compelled me to to break ground and dig down deep in Romans and understand
what does that book really say. Now it doesn't intimidate me. So Proverbs, a lot of people
just glance over Proverbs. Okay, I get that. Do you really? Have you gotten out your shovel and broken ground
to dig down deep in that proverb?
And that's what I'm hoping we do here
with this study of the book of Proverbs.
There is something beyond the surface meaning.
There are nuances, there are applications,
there are different levels of understanding
to have wisdom and discernment for the challenges of life.
And so this call to interpret
requires a lifelong pursuit of wisdom.
You can't say, you know, back in 96, I pursued wisdom.
Yeah, I set aside the year 2015 to pursue wisdom.
Yeah, that was pretty good.
I liked that.
You have to be pursuing wisdom and understanding every day.
Yes, a wise man will do that.
Every day until the day you die.
He says in verse 5, he will increase learning.
Right.
So wisdom is not a one-stop shop, folks.
It is continual.
You're on the subscription plan.
If he promises to increase our learning and our understanding, then that means that there's
no end to it.
No matter how long you've studied, no matter how old you are, no matter how much you know,
there's something else to know.
That's what Solomon is saying to us here.
It is a lifelong pursuit of wisdom and understanding, and it requires the students of wisdom and understanding to meditate on scripture.
What does it mean to meditate on scripture?
You have a scripture and you ponder it all day long.
It doesn't mean you sit in a lotus position like you're doing transcendental meditation and repeat some kind of secret
code word like the TMers do.
It means all day long you're pursuing the understanding of a specific scripture.
You're praying quietly through the day, Lord what does
that mean? Help me understand that scripture. You're meditating on it, you're
thinking about it, you're seeking the Lord and He brings revelation to you. It may
not be that very day, it may be a week later and then suddenly he's like there it is. I get it. I understand it
So wisdom is is a skill that is to be developed
It's an attribute it it
It equips believers to apply biblical principles
creatively
to
complex real life situations.
The Proverbs are tools for our spiritual growth, for our interactions every day with other people, for the development of our lives,
our careers, our families, our relationships.
And so, like I said, there has to be an active engagement with these scriptures.
And there has to be an understanding of faith that's mixed with this, too, in that, you
know, there used to be an understanding of faith that's mixed with this too. In that, you know, you, we, there used to be Christian bookstores.
I, I can't, I don't really know if Christian bookstores are still around.
I haven't been in one in 10 years.
Uh, but in a lot of Christian bookstores, you would see there'd be a whole mini
shelf of books on Proverbs, Proverbs for the businessman, Proverbs for the wife,
Proverbs for the businessman, Proverbs for the wife, Proverbs for the husband.
But all of these, you know, they were kind of generally marketed as good advice, sound,
you know, sound wisdom, you know, how and how to live.
But they're more than that.
They are the words of God.
And being that it is the word of God it goes beyond just good advice you
know beyond a penny saved is a penny earned or something like that it means
more than that these are the words of life and they're only truly activated by
faith by believing that God inspired these words and that we receive life by believing them, believing his word
and living them out in our own lives.
You're right, Doc. Proverbs are not pithy, witty sayings. You know, Ben Franklin had, you know, he, he, he wrote a book of
proverbs. Uh, and so did, uh, uh, Charles Spurgeon. Doc, I have a copy of it. I have
an original copy and these aren't biblical Proverbs. Charles Spurgeon…
Life lessons and…
Charles… well, these aren't written by him. They were collected by him.
Ah, I see. Okay.
Charles Spurgeon spent decades collecting, you know, country, what do I say, you know,
decades collecting, you know, country, what do I say, you know, old sayings. So this was back in the 1800s and he was collecting sayings that I guess he heard his grandparents
say and other people and he put them together in a book.
I've got a copy of the book, but they're not biblical.
What I'm saying is the book of Proverbs is not on that level
right
these are
God inspired Proverbs
and
The only way you can understand them is with the Holy Spirit illuminating them in your life
Yes, that is the essential ingredient.
Without the Holy Spirit, you'll never figure out what they mean.
The Holy Spirit is your friend. The Holy Spirit is your
guide, your teacher, your comforter, your advocate, everything.
And living inside of you. Your advocate, everything.
And living inside of you.
So you ask the Holy Spirit, teach me this word.
What does this mean?
I'm stumped by it.
I know there's something there, but I don't get it.
Help me.
And one of the reasons not only to benefit ourselves, but then once we understand it,
we can teach it to others.
And we have clarity in our mind of these biblical principles and we can share it with somebody
else. So, I have pointed out in the past that for me, and I think this will work for you too, and extract from each scripture as much as many golden nuggets as much nourishment as
you can get. For me, what I do is I break down a scripture into parts in the segments. And then I instead of trying to comprehend the entire scripture, the verse, I eat it
one bite at a time.
Okay let's let's let's dig down here in the first segment of this scripture and let's
scoop up the dirt.
Let's see what we have here.
Now let's move to the next one. So let's look at verse 6,
and there are parts to this scripture. There are three parts.
To understand a proverb and the interpretation, that's number one. We just we just drilled down in the first segment.
The second segment of this verse is the words of the wise.
And the third segment of this proverb is and their dark sayings.
They're dark sayings. For me, I have to break this up into these three parts.
And I learn each segment, then I can put it together.
That's what works for me.
So I just taught on the first one to understand a proverb and the interpretation.
Now let's look at the next part of this proverb, Proverb 6, the words of the wise. The words is pointing to the authoritative teachings of godly mentors. And what
Solomon is saying is you should value the counsel of those people who study
the Word and make a sincere effort to live by it.
Those are the words of the wise.
That's who the wise are.
So the words of the wise are a divine gift.
The gift is the words, the words that come from wise men and women. So if you're going to understand
a proverb and its interpretation, you're also going to need to know the words of the wise.
And so Solomon, he's teaching here, you've got to internalize their words
and apply their teachings to shape your decisions, your action, your character.
If these are words of the wise, wise men and women,
then you know for certain
that they are rooted in the fear of the Lord.
Because wisdom flows from hearts devoted to God's glory.
These aren't perfect people,
These aren't perfect people, but they are sincerely seeking the Lord and to please Him and to obey Him, and they are quick to repent.
These are people who, see wise people are not sinless people, they are repentant people.
Why?
Because they fear the Lord.
And they know that they must obey His commandments if they're going to be wise. solemnness and you need to understand the sayings of these wise people.
I look I'm going to say this with humility, but the people who walked away from this ministry in the past several weeks, because we weren't giving them news, what they said was, we don't value
We weren't giving them news. What they said was we don't value what doc burkhardt and rick wells know about
Yes, what they said Okay
We don't value we don't have any value on it means nothing to us
Okay, so they had no interest in the words of the wise.
It requires humility.
It requires listening and learning from those who are making their best effort to understand
God's Word and to live according to it.
Again, you can't equate perfection with godliness.
Wise people will sin. Wise people will make mistakes. But their wisdom leads them to repent
quickly and be restored to the Lord as fast as they can.
That's wisdom.
That's the wisdom. And a wise person will say, I have sinned, I have made mistakes.
But let me tell you, I ran to the throne as fast as I could get there.
I fell down on my knees and I pleaded for forgiveness and mercy and grace. That's wisdom.
If you think a wise person never makes mistakes, then you have a distorted view of human wisdom.
never makes mistakes, then you have a distorted view of human wisdom. Now here's the next one, and their dark sayings.
Now this one's challenging.
Their dark sayings.
Does it mean sinister?
No.
Does it mean occult? No.
It's talking about enigmatic, challenging expressions. expressions from a wise person that makes you wrestle in your mind to grasp what they just said.
Right.
You could describe dark sayings as riddles, parables,
parables, expressions of wisdom that compel the hearer or the reader to think and ponder
and carefully, prayerfully study what they said and seek the Lord. What does that mean?
Why would a wise person speak in riddles? Dark sayings. Again, it's not spiritual darkness. It's not occultism. It's saying wisdom that is concealed and requires you to open it up.
That's the key to it. The reason it's concealed is to motivate you,
challenge you, open it up, make some effort.
Not everything's gonna be spoon fed to you.
You've got to do some searching.
You gotta put some, you know, spiritual, mental,
emotional muscle into this.
You're not, you know, it's saying to all of us,
you're not infants being spoon fed.
You gotta get out and search.
And that's what this is about.
That some wisdom comes wrapped in mystery.
Now when I say mystery, I'm not talking about the's deliberately covered up for the purpose of being unraveled.
Why do we wrap gifts?
Why don't you just give Christmas gifts in their store packages with the tags on. Why do you wrap them up?
You're concealing what's inside the gift. It's a gift here. It's your gift.
There's something really nice inside this packaging, inside this wrapping,
but the receiver of the gift must rip it open.
I mean, what are you gonna do, take it home and say,
I'm not gonna make any effort to tear the paper off of it.
I'm not gonna untie the bow.
I'll just have to guess what's in there.
I'll never use it, cause I don't know what's in there. I'll never use it because I don't know what's in there. No, the giver
deliberately wrapped the gift, not to keep it from you, but to compel you to unwrap it. That's what the dark sayings are. They are wrapped to require patience and diligence
to unravel the truths that will transform your life.
Dark sayings are intentionally complex
things are intentionally complex to draw you into a deeper engagement with God's Word. That's what the parables were. Jesus would speak a parable to the multitudes and most of them went, oh, what does that mean?
Only a few went to the Lord and said, master, tell us what's the meaning of that parable
and what did he do?
Hey, follow me, let's go inside the house
and talk about it.
You will find the answer to the parables
in the Lord's house.
You gotta be in the Lord's house to get the answers of the parables.
Morning manna, you're in the Lord's house right now. The Lord's house is not necessarily
a church building. It's where the Lord meets his people to teach them his word. Amen. You
got to go into the Lord's house with him to are the opposite of superficial knowledge.
Yes.
Again, it's to motivate you and me to dig deeper.
And it pleases the Lord to see us pursuing the truth.
Right.
Aren't you happy on Christmas Day when somebody that you love is excitedly wrapping off your
gift?
It pleases you.
The Lord is the same way. He's pleased when he sees us pulling the wrapping
off of a dark saying, a parable, a proverb.
Right. And there's another reason too, Rick, in that Jesus himself said, you know, I speak to parables because what I'm teaching isn't
for everybody. Matthew 1335 says that it might be fulfilled, which was spoken by the prophet,
saying I will open my mouth and parables. I will utter things which have been kept secret
from the foundation of the world. And you can read the parables and get a superficial meaning from Jesus's parables, but as you and I
know, even after a lifetime of study, we're finding things buried in the parables that we've never
seen before. Yes, that's the pleasing part of morning manna for me is that I get to shovel before you
do.
I have to dig in order to help you when we meet.
And it's a delight to me.
I enjoy it. I'm It's it requires work and effort and study
Getting up early it it takes effort
But it's it's pleasing and it's fun
And and then I'm you know, like I'm I'm able to lay out on the table to everyone is that morning man and say, Hey, look at this.
Look what I found.
Let's study this. And then that should encourage you to dig down deeper and then you find things and then you share with others.
then you find things and then you share with others.
Oh okay we only made one verse okay.
It's 845 it's uh Proverbs 7. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
So the fear of the Lord.
This is not talking about trembling with a terrified attitude
that this God is gonna smack you
and knock you across the room. That's not what this means.
It means having reverence, holding Him in awe, being amazed by His holiness and his authority, his wisdom.
That's what this means.
Every day I pray, I'm amazed.
I am talking to someone I'm calling Papa,
whom I love with all my heart, mind, and soul, somebody who loves
me, somebody who is incredibly kind to me and merciful and gracious, and that I have an intimate love relationship with my heavenly father.
And I can call him Papa.
And yet I have to remind myself as I'm talking to him,
he is almighty God.
He's almighty God.
My Papa created the universe. My Papa holds it together with the word of his power. My
Papa knows everything, sees everything, hears everything. As my Papa. When you're walking in humility and brokenness and contriteness and remorsefulness
for yourself, when you're walking in that attitude, there's nothing, there's no reason and to tremble. It's the fear of the Lord, of His greatnesses, of His majesty that keeps
you broken and remorseful and contrite and humble. But you can always go to Him and He's
not going to disown you. He's not going to abandon you. He's not going to judge you.
People will. People will do terrible things to you, but not your father.
And so you learn from him. You learn the way you're supposed to act, the way you're supposed
to treat people, you learn by the way He treats you. That's the best learning, the
way He treats you. The more intimate you become with Him, the more you learn the
way He treats people. So true wisdom begins with a heart that is surrendered to his greatness, that recognizes
his greatness, his majesty.
And if you're going to pursue wisdom, you have to first cultivate a love for God.
Yes.
He's not going to give you, he'll give you some, he's not going to hold back.
As he said, anybody ask for wisdom?
He's not going to give you all of it if you don't love him. If the only reason you're asking is selfish motives, it'll make me really smart.
And there's no love for him.
That's an empty relationship.
That's a one-sided relationship.
You ever been in a one-sided relationship? Where you're trying to do your best
to help somebody to be kind to them and the other person is just
cold and just say, hey, give me, give me, give me. What can I get out of you?
We don't want to treat God that way.
See, we don't want to treat God that way. He has emotional needs too.
Do you ever think about that?
He has a need to be close to you.
He has a need.
He needs to be close to you. You satisfy that need when you're intimate with him.
And that love for him motivates obedience.
So the fear of God is the foundation of life.
Yes.
It's the foundation.
That you can't build a successful life
without the fear of God being the cornerstone.
Right.
Now, so that's the first part.
Let's break it down.
The fear of the Lord, there's part one.
Part two is, is the beginning of knowledge.
And part three is, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
So we have now drilled down into the first segment,
the fear of the Lord.
Now let's talk about the second segment,
is the beginning of knowledge.
The phrase is the beginning of knowledge establishes that genuine knowledge originates from recognizing
God as the source of all truth.
And that we have to ground and base our learning in this life on this revelation
that the beginning of knowledge is the fear of the Lord.
See, here in America, our early colleges and universities were Christian.
Yes.
Yale and Harvard and Princeton,
they all taught the word of God.
Yes.
They were founded by Christians
for the purpose of glorifying God.
Right.
What are they now?
Hollow shells, teaching the wisdom of men.
And we could in our lifetime see Harvard and Yale and Princeton disappear. That's hard to believe, but we are at that point.
Yeah.
Yes, we could see them disappear.
Knowledge without the fear of God is incomplete
You have to approach education
Through biblical wisdom again our schools
Our education in this country in the early days was all
Bible based
First of all, children were taught in the home or in church. Schools were in churches. And then when they went to the public school model, They started the day with the Lord's Prayer. I did in my public school.
We said the Lord's Prayer every morning. Look how we've changed as a country.
Now, part three, but fools despise wisdom and instruction. So the opposite of a wise person is a fool.
What defines a fool? They hate, they despise, they scorn wisdom and biblical instruction.
I'm going to say it again, the people that walked away from this ministry in the past
30 days because we were no longer talking about world news and they said, we're not
interested in morning manna. That's not what we signed up for. They're fools. They despise news and instruction.
They're fools in God's eyes. They're fools because they despise wisdom and
instruction. They went galloping off to some other podcaster who isn't going to talk to them about the
Word of God.
Yeah.
If they don't change, well, they don't change only God knows what's going to happen to them at the end of life.
I'm not going to say. I don't think there's going to be a lot of fools in New Jerusalem.
I don't think you're going to see full street,
I don't think you're going to see Fool Street. Fool Park. Fool Plaza. Hey, let's go down to the Fool Plaza and hang out with all the fools in New Jerusalem. I don't think that's going to happen.
It's folly to reject God's truth. It's idiocy to scorn His Word.
It's just plain stupid to be arrogant about your spiritual blindness.
And that's what this is with these people that scoring God's Word. They are they are
arrogantly proud of their spiritual blindness. Yes, that's what totally flips me out. They're
proud of it. They're not convicted by it. I think Doc, I shared an email with you yesterday or maybe the day before somebody who was just
ripping me for ending true news.
Fool.
A fool.
He actually said, I know you're tired, but that's no excuse.
In other words, you old workhorse, you just stay out there in the field and work until you drop. Keep plowing. You keep plowing your horse.
Oh my, I should just one day read all this stuff to everyone. Why waste our time?
Why do they waste their time in telling us? That's what gets me? You know, I mean,
it went out of their way to tell us because they're convicted. Yeah, that's exactly why
and deep down in the soul. They're convicted. So they want to put the they want to put a
guilt trip on me. They're under conviction. So hey,, I'm gonna lash out at the preacher and put some guilt on him.
I'm gonna make him feel really bad about me being convicted.
That's it. You got it. They're despising wisdom. They've set a higher party in their lives of
information and knowledge above the Word of God. Isn't that what they're saying?
That there is information out there. There's some nugget. There's some little piece of
data or information that is worth more than the Word of God.
Yes. And so if you continue in a path of scorning God's Word and rejecting, not only rejecting the truth, but rejecting
the pursuit of truth. It will lead to spiritual blindness and you will make destructive choices So, you have to maintain a teachable spirit.
You have to be open to correction from God's Word.
You have to be open to God's correction. The act of despising biblical instruction reflects a heart that is hardened by pride
and arrogance.
It is pride and arrogance in people.
And sometimes they can, they don't come across as proud and arrogant. They
usually think, oh, that's a sweet little lady. But inside, she's got a proud, arrogant attitude
of defiant to
God on the inside.
Amen.
So, the phrase warns that fools invite ruin in their life
by just dismissing God's word, God's wisdom.
But wise people view God's wisdom as a treasure
and they value it and they seek it
and they have respect for the treasure. Amen. Wow.
Well, Doc, here it is. It's top of the hour and we only did two verses.
I thought we would just blow through with the vocal proverbs in a couple weeks. I guess we're not. What are we
doing? We're digging down. We're trying to find the meaning of
the dark sayings. How can I teach you the proverbs and tell
you, hey, you've got to dig down and search for the meaning of
dark sayings. And how can I do that if I just gloss over everything and say, hey, we got to stay on
schedule.
I've got a schedule that we're going to get this book done by June 15th.
And lots of times that's the way the Word of God is taught in churches.
We got a schedule.
Denominational headquarters says we got to have this done by the end of June.
Right, we got to check off the box.
Right. Now we're going to dig down.
Just like we do every book that we study here.
All right, Doc, that's it for me.
We'll pick up the see all tomorrow is today, Thursday.
It is Thursday. Yes, so tomorrow is Faith Friday.
Yes sir, and the Lord's table tomorrow as well. So be prepared for that with either bread,
with bread you have to have bread and either red wine or grape juice and we'll be having the Lord's
Supper as we end the Bible study tomorrow on Faith Friday.
So keep that in mind as well.
No prayer meeting tonight.
Right. We'll be doing that next Thursday night. That's the current plan, next Thursday.
But yes, keep that in mind. By the way, throughout the chat, I know, posting the links where you can share
Morning Manor with others on various social media platforms. And so just a reminder, we do
post this twice throughout the day on all those channels, plus True News, TrueNews.com as well. At 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Those are the two times that we're currently posting on our social media channels and also on truenews.com.
So keep that in mind as well. I know a number of you have been asking, hey, how can we share Morning Manna?
Well, now's the time as well. Also, I posted several times during the chat how you can sign up for Rick's newsletter. Just one click, take you to sign up. You don't have to go anywhere or do anything.
Just click on that link and it'll take you to Rick's newsletter. If you're not
receiving it, sign up for it. He has some information that he feels is important
for you each day for you to keep in mind, but it's not the center of everything
that we do.
It's just additional wisdom and instruction
from a godly man observing the world around him.
And so any other words or thoughts here
as we end today's time together, Rick?
No, I'm just enjoying reading the chat.
Thank you for all the kind words.
Thank you so much.
Morning Manna Marathon.
That's what we're doing here, studying the word.
Hey, I will tell you this, I can't give you the details,
but Doc and I had an awesome meeting yesterday.
Indeed.
Oh my, a breakthrough, a blessing. Just there's
something underway, God's doing something for morning manna. Just keep praying for
this ministry, morning manna, to be expanded around the world. We had an
awesome meeting yesterday. Something that never happened
ever in the 26 years of true news. Yes. I've just got I tried.
I tried and hit walls into trueed True News and now instead of a wall, a door opened.
Yes. We're still working out some of the details, ladies and gentlemen.
As soon as we get all the details worked out and everything, you'll be the first to know here on Morning Manor,
we promise you.
And so, but it's a wonderful opportunity
to spread the gospel.
And that's all we're concerned about folks.
That's all we're concerned about.
I'm gonna give you a hint.
For those of you in Great Britain,
which includes Scotland and Northern Ireland
and all of Ireland and Wales
were coming.
Morning Man is coming.
For those of you in Africa, Morning Man is coming.
I had just said to the Lord, just, I don't know, a week or two, a couple weeks ago, yes a couple weeks ago, I said Lord I am
ready to go back to Africa. It just all of a sudden I felt this release it's
time to go back to Africa. God just doing some awesome things okay? So just keep praying and thanking the Lord for what He's doing. And He's amazing
me. He's amazing me.
You know, Rick, I think it was a week ago or maybe two weeks ago, sometime in Mourning
Manor, you quoted Psalm 2, 8, where the Bible says,
God declares, ask of me, and I'll make the nations your inheritance and the ends of the earth
your possession. And something, I like to say this, it got down in my gizzard that day.
Yes.
I mean, it really got down. I said, Lord, are you telling me I can ask for the world?
Yes.
Are you telling me I can ask for the world and you'll give it to me?
Yes. For His glory. Yes. For His glory. And it may very well be happening even as we speak.
You know, I just want to share that news and let's pray that the Lord puts everything together to make that happen. Yes. So we are in a transition, and it's requiring a lot of faith from us to be in this transition
financially. We have to trust that the resources are going to continue to come in, that new
donors will come on board and say, I'm going to step up and support this ministry.
But we're in that transition and you know some people left
but we're believing new people will come in. Just making room for new people. Yes but in in the gap
right there there's a great need for, and that's where we're at.
Amen.
That every day we're, Lord, we're believing that your Holy Spirit is talking to people to support
us so that we can continue to expand this ministry. That's where we're at.
So there is on faith and values, there's a donate button. There's one on
True News. The addresses are there if you want to send a check, whatever you want to do, but we do
need your support. And don't forget we're now doing text to give too. You can text us as well. I've
been putting that on faith and values as well. And so save that phone number on your phone. So you can text directly from your phone,
just push one button. And so you can do that too. So lots of
things we're doing now that are brand new, ladies and gentlemen.
Okay, so and I've said this before, I am personally
persuaded, seen over many years years that when people are connected to a ministry, a church, a minister,
that whatever is going on is happening in the lives of the people who are connected to that
ministry. I'm trying to tell you right now, a tremendous breakthrough is happening for us. You're going to get your
breakthrough. Amen. You're getting yours too. Yours is happening right now. It's coming
to you. Start thanking the Lord for it. Yeah, he's not just blessing the bus driver, he's
blessing the whole bus. That's right. That's right. We desire you to get your
breakthrough, your blessings also. Amen. All right. That'll be the last word.
Amen. Well, don't forget tomorrow's faith friday and also the Lord's table.
So we invite you to join us and invite a friend to join you as well and be a
part of this live Bible study a m on the East Coast. If you're not able to be
with his live, you can always listen to replays on truenews.com, faithandvalues.com, and across various social
media channels and encourage you that if you've got friends that aren't part of Faith and Values
or anything, that take advantage of those social media postings, share that, share Morning Manna with them. We are slowly
seeing the numbers increase there as people get exposed to Morning Manna and
we can sure use your help in getting the word out. Amen? All right, Rick, can you
final words? Yes, sir. All right. God bless you. We'll see you on the Friday
edition of Morning Manna for Faith Friday. God bless you. We'll see you on the Friday edition of Morning Manna for Faith Friday. God bless you.
