Hey, we're taking our 3pm Wednesday break as you can see, I didn't even comb my hair.
I just came out here.
I've been working all day.
Such a different schedule, Doc.
This is so different for me.
And getting a lot of things done.
But I've been doing this, Doc and I coming out here every day this week at 3 o'clock

but the main thing that you know I want you to know is that we are you know
we're staying in touch with you and we are receiving thousands of emails. I'm

but I'm not getting it.
Well, you have to put your email in that space.
So go to truenews.com, scroll down to the bottom of the page.
Hey, there we go.
Look at that.
See, he's scrolling and we keep scrolling.
There we go.
Keep in touch. Receive keep scrolling. There we go. Keep in touch
Receive our newsletter. There it is
Put your name in there and you will get our daily news
Email and I think it may have just gone out or is going out here We're sending it about three o'clock right about this time and And I just wrote it a few minutes ago.
What's the topic today?
It's World War III, it's Pakistan and India.
So we're very close to an all out war
between Pakistan and India.
Last night after we did our three o'clock appearance here,
maybe within an hour or two, India attacked Pakistan.
Right.
India said they attacked terrorist bases, they said terrorist infrastructure.
Of course Pakistan said no, you attacked our country, right?
And now just a few hours ago at 1230 noon Eastern Time, the prime minister of Pakistan went on national television, and said that he has authorized the Pakistan military to respond to India's
attack. So you know that attack could be happening right now while we're talking.
I just I looked just a couple minutes ago nothing has happened. And the
exchange of atomic weapons has entered the conversation on this. So keep
that in mind. You're seeing headlines now where they're talking about that. Oh, absolutely. So
and in today's newsletter, I included a quote from the son of who was the Pakistan Budo,
Budo. Yes.
Who was assassinated years ago.
So his son said, hey, this is serious.
We could have a nuclear war.
Right.
Over this conflict right now.
It's very dangerous.
And India today did civil defense drills.
They instructed, think about what, 1.4 billion people in India, most of them extremely poor.
Hey, by the way, you should stock up on food, medicine, candles, matches, everything you
need.
You should do it right now.
And also, there's going to be a blackout and you can't even light a candle.
You can't turn on a light bulb they want the country. This is India
They want the country
Completely black at night so that Pakistan
Bombers can't see anything below right so they're they told the people today. We're going dark
And you can't turn on anything not not a light bulb we have to be totally dark
Can you imagine the Indian continent tonight? It's already evening, right? So I assume they're already in a blackout
In some of the cities they were wearing hazmat suits during the drills
One one I saw one quote young lady said they they're telling us to go into basements.
We don't have basements here.
Where are we going to go?
They were bombed.
That's the question.
And so, yeah, I'm sure they already have limited resources.
How do they prepare?
Well, what about the massive slums?
Where do those people go?
They're barely living above ground,
in dilapidated housing. people go? They're barely living above ground, you know, in
dilapidated housing. Where are they going to go? This is several people have said we're looking at the possibility of a billion
casualties.
Yes. And some forecast of 200 million people migrating from
India and Pakistan to the West within the next six
months. 200 million people Rick that's that's a massive number and if there is
some sort of exchange of atomic weapons nuclear weapons that impact is not
limited to India and Pakistan. No it's in the atmosphere. That's right. And it will
be there for years. I mean by the, I want to remind you that and we
just got it in. It was amazing. We ordered say we American
reserves, we ordered potassium iodide tablets, I gave the
approval months ago to have them manufactured for American
reserves. Right. And we went to a manufacturer and
said we want American reserves, branded potassium iodide tablets
and they just came in maybe one to two weeks ago. Yes, not a
week and a half ago. There you go. There they are on the
screen. And I just checked Doc. I need to order more from the factory.
Our our audience here is is ordering these tablets, we need to order more from the factory. I'm really I was called by
surprise about 20 minutes ago when I checked on the the
availability in our inventory. Right? So this is something you want to have in your
possession. If you have old tablets from ten years ago, throw them in the
trash, they've lost their potency, you need new fresh tablets. These are not
things that you pop every day as a preventative medicine. This is like when you're told by the government there is
radiation in the air. Take action. That's when you you use these tablets.
So you know don't don't buy them and just be popping them like one-a-day vitamins.
That's not how you damage your thyroid. So they are available right now but they
are going
quickly, much faster than we anticipate it.
And a lot of people haven't added potassium iodide tablets
to their bug out bag because they don't consider the
possibility.
That's right.
Well, now look the headlines today.
You need to consider it as a real possibility. And Dr. we've
been watching Ukraine and Russia for the last three years.
We've been watching Israel and Iran.
Nobody's been paying attention to India and Pakistan.
And we could see the first deployment of nuclear weapons in World War III could come out of
Pakistan and India, and it could happen this week.
That's how close we are.
Anyhow, there's a newsletter on its way.
If it hasn't left our server while I'm talking to you, it's at the door of the server ready
to go.
It's been written, formatted, and I told our staff release it and get it out to our team
right away.
I will continue to do this every day and keep you informed about the most important things
that are happening right now.
So with that said, let's go to morning manna.
We're in chapter 14 of Romans and we're finishing up the chapter today.
We'll start chapter 15 tomorrow.
Here we go.
Good morning, everybody.
Welcome to today's morning Manna Bible study.
This is a ministry of faith and values fellowship
in Vero Beach, Florida.
And we gather together every morning at 8 a.m. Eastern time with
brothers and sisters from around the world and we spend an hour studying the
Word of God verse by verse precept by precept. I don't know of any other
ministry that does this Bible study this way online every day. And it's unique and the Lord is blessing it.
And he's blessing Doc and me and all the students.
So we're all blessed by the study of the word.
We are in the 14th chapter of the book of Romans,
and we're gonna finish up chapter 14 today,
verses 19 through 23. Let's pray
and invite the Holy Spirit then Doc Burkhart will read the Word of God. Father
Almighty God our Heavenly Father Father we pray in the name of Jesus Christ our
Lord and Savior. Father teach us your your word. Strengthen us for the days
that are ahead. We see the storm clouds on the horizon, Father. We know that
turbulent times are coming and that we must have the word hidden in our hearts. Father, purify us, cleanse us, get all the sin out of us. Make us like
your Son Jesus Christ so that we can go through these difficult times without anything weighing
us down. In the name of Jesus, amen.
Amen. And good morning, everyone. Welcome to Morning Manna here in the eight o'clock hour on
the east coast of the United States, no matter where you are in the world, including Japan, Russia,
Germany checking in today, Philippines, South Korea, Malaysia, Brazil, and all across the United
States and Canada. Welcome to this live edition of Morning Manna, and we appreciate you being here.
And we are reading today from Romans chapter 14,
and we're gonna pick back up today verse 19,
and we will finish this chapter today
as our reading commences here.
I'm reading from the King James verse 19.
Let us therefore follow after the things
which make for peace,
and things wherewith one may edify another. For me
destroy not the work of God all things indeed are pure but it is evil for that
man who eateth with offense. It is good neither to eat flesh nor to drink wine
nor anything whereby thy brother stumbling or is offended or is made weak.
Hast thou faith? Have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that
condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth, and he that doubteth
is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith, for whatsoever is not of faith
is sin." God bless the reading of his word today. Amen. Verse 19.
So then,
let's follow after things
which make for peace
and things by which we
may build one another
up.
So in verse 19,
Paul continues
with his theme, he's urging
disciples to pursue peace and mutual edification
to prioritize personal actions so that they strengthen the overall church of God.
This is a continuous verse 19, it's continuing this theme that's throughout
the 14th chapter of Romans, which is unity.
Yes.
Encouraging disciples to actively pursue
and build harmony and unity
in the body of Christ and not to have disputes
and arguments and divisions over silly things like food.
There are things far more important to argue over
than whether you should eat bacon or whether you're
allowed to drink a cup of wine.
The command to follow after.
He said, let's follow after things which make peace, make for peace. That to me implies Paul saying,
you should have an active intentional pursuit of peace.
You should be actively engaged in reconciliation
with brothers and sisters.
I mean, too many times reconciliation is like, well, if we have to, we'll reconcile.
But that ought to be the number one priority, a spirit of reconciliation, of harmony, of peace.
Because peace in the church, the church of God, reflects his kingdom.
And so we have, if you're going to foster a spirit of love, you have to reduce conflict.
Right.
How can you have harmony and peace and love in a family.
And conflict is present.
Conflict and disagreements are not the same thing.
Doc and I probably disagree about a lot of things, but we don't have conflict.
You see, there's a difference.
Two adults can have differences of opinion and still love each other, still enjoy each
other's company.
Right.
But when one person gets totally out of, bent out of shape because somebody else has a different opinion then
Who's got the problem the person that gets been out of shape over another person's opinion?
So always always seek harmony always seek peace
Reconciliation remember Paul said earlier in Romans, you know if it's all possible, live at peace with all men and women.
It's outside of the church also.
Right.
And here, Paul, the English really doesn't do justice
to the word follow after because really it should,
in the Greek, it's the word like pursue
to hunt down yes pursue follow after sounds like it just a passive thing well you know there's some
peace over there I'll just follow after no but in the Greek Paul is saying no pursue peace
pursue those things that make for peace and active An active intentional pursuit.
That's what it means.
Actively intentionally pursue peace.
Make it your priority.
Not the last thing on the list.
Well, if I have to, I'll get along with him.
Isn't that the attitude a lot of people have? Well, if I have to, I'll get along with him.
Isn't that the attitude a lot of people have? Yeah.
To pursue peace and harmony with others requires humility.
And that means you have to set aside pride.
And you have to walk in lowliness.
Lowliness not meaning low self-esteem,
but in placing yourself, your interests beneath others
and always be thinking of others.
Let's go to verse 20. King James says, For meat destroy not the work of God.
All things indeed are pure, but it is evil for that man who eateth with offense. The World English Bible says, don't overthrow God's work for food's sake.
I like that.
All things indeed are clean, but it is evil for that man who creates a stumbling block by eating.
So verse 20 warns us not to let food choices undermine God's work, his agenda, his purposes.
And that we should emphasize love for others over our own personal freedoms
I mean this is an extreme
Example but you know if I were invited to a Seventh-day Adventist
Church picnic I Wouldn't take a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken and say
to the Adventist, well, this is my religious freedom.
I can eat these chicken legs and these wings.
I have freedom in Christ to do this.
Why would you do that?
Why would you have that attitude?
Yes, yes, you are a free to do but why would you have that attitude?
But the same is true for the Adventist if they come to your home
Yes, they are not to say I only eat vegetables
They are not to say, I only eat vegetables.
What do you do in situations like that? You put yourself second. That's what you do.
You make yourself second to the others.
I've been served food I really didn't want to eat,
but I ate it because it was a respectful, kind thing to do.
And I'll just give you a heads up.
If you ever invite me to dinner, please
don't serve squid or octopus. Please.
He doesn't like it.
And I have a hard time hiding it on my face as I chew it. And I don't like to lie when they say, do you like it?
No, I don't.
But I would eat it if somebody gave it to me.
If they made it for me in love, I would say, okay,
I'm going to chew this gummy, chewy old octopus leg.
But if there were some crab legs around.
Yes, but at the same time,
there would be another brother or sister who says,
I can't eat that crustacean.
What are you doing pulling the leg off and eating it?
Yeah.
So think of the others.
But if you wanna know how to eat crabs, I'll go with me. I grew up in Maryland.
We know how to eat crabs.
So, 1 through 19, chapter 14, 1 through 19,'s a call for unity. It's urging disciples to protect the church's spiritual health.
Think of the spiritual climate of the church, the unity of the church.
Paul said, don't overthrow the work of God for food's sake.
Don't overthrow the work of God for food's sake.
This is referring to the faith and the growth, the spiritual growth of believers.
That the spiritual growth of men and women
is the work of God.
So we are to avoid actions that harm
a brother or sister's conscience,
which undermines the work the Holy Spirit is doing
in that person's life.
Yes.
It's, get right down to the brass tacks here.
It's learning to live together in love.
Yes.
Yes. Yes. It's all throughout the New Testament. It's continuing the teaching that Paul stated earlier.
I think it was verse 14 that Paul said, you know, all foods are clean now.
Eating with offense, obviously means causing another person to stumble by your food choices.
What is the essence of Paul's teaching here?
It's not about crab legs and pork chops.
That's not what it's about.
It's about treating your brother and sister with kindness and respect and not doing things
that you know offends them.
See, it's one thing if you don't know that it offends them,
that you've not committed the sin.
Right, but when you know it offends them,
you just being downright ugly now and a stinker.
When you know something offends another person and why
do it and I do know people who have that attitude they love oh my they love to do
those kind of things yeah just how how offensive can you be and then put a
religious covering on it saying well I have the right to do this.
Yeah, technically you do.
In privacy, when you're not around believers
that are offended by it.
For example, smoking, I don't smoke.
smoking. I don't smoke. I've never had a problem with cigarettes because my mother beat it out of me. And I mean beat it out of me. The only time I had I got a beating
from my mother my entire life. She caught me behind the garage smoking a cigarette.
And she became so enraged.
Doc, I remember she took her shoe off and beat me with it.
That's how angry she was.
I had a similar beating,
but it was with a Hot Wheels racetrack.
With a what? A Hot Wheels racetrack. With a what?
A Hot Wheels racetrack.
Oh, the track itself?
Oh yeah, so you know, you take those sections of the Hot Wheels racetrack, the orange racetrack,
she picked one up and oh my goodness.
There's a whole story about that, but I won't share it today, but there's a big story on that one.
Well, I'm telling you what, that broke my smoking habit.
Yeah.
And I don't know how old I was,
maybe 11 or 12 years old.
I never put another cigarette in my mouth.
Okay.
I did smoke cigars when I was a young man, occasionally, with friends.
But I don't smoke.
I don't smoke pipes.
I don't chew tobacco.
I just don't have a thing about tobacco.
I, you know, as a Christian, all the churches that I attended in my early years, not only
were they teetotalers about drinking, they were teetotalers about smoking.
And you just, you could not be a smoker and go to a church.
I mean, that was the attitude. Smokers were, they were frowned upon as trapped in
a very, very bad sin.
Well, Baptist had a little bit more grace, at least in the jury. Yeah, but Charles Spurgeon, the great British pastor, Charles Spurgeon, he loved big old
fat cigars.
Yeah.
Well, how do you explain that?
See, how do you explain?
You're at the pastor Spurgeon's home.
You've been invited into his home, the great Charles Spurgeon, and he lights up his cigar
and says, have a seat.
Let's talk about the Bible.
Are you going to say, Pastor Spurgeon, you're going to burn in hell with that cigar?
I wouldn't have said that to him, would you? No.
It was not an offense to him. He did not think he was sinning.
Now, my guess is if he thought, well, this young man, he's a very young Christian, he's tender-hearted, and he was told that
you can't smoke cigars and go to heaven at the same time.
I better put this cigar out while he's here because he wouldn't offend you.
Again, it's have respect for other people.
Again, my view on whether a Christian can drink beer or smoke cigarettes or cigars,
yes, it won't keep you out of heaven.
You'll just smell like hell when you get there.
Hey, what's that on your clothes? Okay.
When we talk about being self-aware and doing that self-judgment as well,
you and I both know of preachers that have condemned the smoking and drinking and yet
weigh 400 pounds.
Right.
So, yeah, they're addicted.
They're addicted to food.
Right.
And so, so it pays to be self-aware and to be mindful of others.
We're not encouraging smoking or drinking
or anything like that.
We're just saying there's not the condemnation in it
that is implied.
And when I'm around a Christian who smokes,
and they're trying, they wanna hide the cigarette from me,
I'm like, no, please just be yourself.
Just be yourself. I'm not condemning you. You know, you don't have to put it out because I'm here.
Right. Just don't put it in my mouth. Right. And if you have to smoke, I would suggest
smoke some ribs. There you go. I believe in that.
I believe and endorse that kind of smoking.
Smoking ribs, okay.
Oh man, what do you smoke?
I have ribs.
Brisket.
Oh my.
But see, don't let somebody put guilt
and religious condemnation on you.
Just be yourself.
Right.
They've got a sin they're dealing with.
They've got more than one.
Usually, they're the ones that make a big deal
about a Christian smoking a cigar or cigarette
or drinking a beer.
They're usually the ones that are covering up some sin in their life
Right and if these things, you know
Offend you don't do them. Right? Don't participate. That's what Paul is saying here if it
Offends you you don't to participate in it. And so
But don't go out of your way to offend a brother or sister in Christ just for the sake of offending them.
That's not the law.
I assure you that if Pakistan and India hit each other this week with nuclear weapons,
you're really not going to care whether somebody's smoking a cigarette.
Right. It's gonna change your perspective really fast.
So again, we're at verse 20.
Don't overthrow God's work for food's sake.
All things indeed are clean,
but it is evil for that man who creates a stumbling block by
eating.
So, the scripture is challenging disciples to value God's redemptive work in others
above their own rights, because that fosters harmony, and it builds up the church instead of dividing it.
So we are to examine our choices and make choices that strengthen others rather than weakening them.
And so love requires disciples to limit their personal freedoms
if those personal freedoms cause spiritual harm
in another person.
Verse 21, King James,
it is good neither to eat flesh,
nor to drink wine, nor anything whereby thy brother stumbleth,
or is offended, or is made weak.
World English Bible is almost the same.
It is good to not eat meat, drink wine,
or do anything by which your brother stumbles,
is offended, or made weak.
drink wine or do anything by which your brother stumbles is offended or made weak.
Again, it's the plea for unity. It's the plea virtue of self-restraint.
It's a good thing to restrain yourself.
If it leads to harmony in the church, it's a good thing.
We know what stumble means.
Leading somebody else to do what they think is wrong and to disregard their convictions.
Making a brother weak, same thing, undermining their faith. And the message is that we are to place love above liberty.
Love above liberty.
There you go.
Yes, that's it.
Love above liberty.
If you get that one,
you've got all of chapter 14 memorized.
Love above liberty.
memorized. Love above liberty. Verse 22, we're going to be finished early today.
Has thou faith? Have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth. World English Bible, do you have faith? Have it to yourself before God.
Happy is he who doesn't judge himself in that which he approves. So in verse 22, we are encouraged to keep our faith, our faith convictions private before
God.
It's between you and the Lord.
You don't have to advertise it.
You don't have to put a sign up says I'm a vegan.
I'm a meat eater. I smoke cigars or I hate cigars.
You don't have to put a sign up. It's between you and the Lord. He knows what your conscience
is about it and he's going to honor your conscience. Now here's another thing and and maybe some of you have experienced this
There are things in this in the spirit in our lives that are
Are permissible for christians
And yet sometimes the holy spirit will say to an individual
I don't want you to do that. I don't want you to do that. I don't want you to eat this.
I don't want you to participate in something.
Right.
And this can happen.
Sometimes it's always for your best.
It's always for your good.
The Holy Spirit has a reason for it.
Sometimes it's for your health and you don't even know why.
But the Holy Spirit knows.
Other times it's a test of obedience.
Right.
The Holy Spirit will just say,
I don't want you doing this particular thing.
I do not want you eating this particular type of food,
whatever.
And now once you know it's the Holy Spirit,
even though it's right for your brother or sister
to partake of it, the Holy Spirit has told you
it's not right.
Right.
And these can be, you know, things that happen
for a short term period of time.
And it can vary based on circumstances.
For instance, I recall in the book of Daniel, we often talk about the Daniel's Fast, where,
you know, there was basically a test of the Hebrew men and the men of the king of Persia. And Daniel said, we won't eat vegetables.
We won't eat sweets. We won't eat meats. We won't do that. We'll only eat vegetables.
I have no reason to think that was a lifetime ban or anything by Daniel, but it was for that period of time in order to
show the power and glory of God.
And so there are other instances in the New Testament.
Paul, I think, in Corinthians says, you know, if a husband and wife want to set aside the
physical consummation of their marriage for a period of time, it's okay to do that.
But it wasn't a permanent ban or anything like that. And so there are times where God leads us into abstaining from things.
But once again, as Rick mentioned, this is generally a private thing. It's not something generally public unless a congregation makes a commitment to do something for a period of time like that. But so there are times where God has us abstain from things that are perfectly good.
You know,
Many years ago, I'm going to guess sometime
Many years ago, I'm gonna guess sometime,
2002 or three, somewhere in that area, I was living in Texas,
and the Holy Spirit was convicting me
not to drink Coca-Cola and Pepsi, soft drinks.
And, you know, I knew he was telling me not to do it.
It wasn't like a lightning bolt came down
and said, do not drink Coca-Cola.
But it was a, every time I drank, at that time,
I drank a lot of Coca-Cola, a lot, every day.
And, but I felt the Holy Spirit saying, it wasn't saying cut back, he said none.
And I remember one evening standing in my kitchen talking to my daughter Carissa, and
we were talking, I don't know, about different things. And, you know, it was definitely a topic about health.
And I said to Carissa, you know,
the Holy Spirit's been telling me not to drink anymore
Coca-Cola or Pepsi.
And there I was pouring a glass of Coca-Cola.
And Carissa said,
Dad, how long has the Lord been telling you
to stop drinking Coke and Pepsi?
And I said, I don't know.
It's been a long time, like a year.
And she looked at me, she goes, that's not like you.
I'm surprised.
I don't know what he means.
She goes, that's just not like you.
You're telling me he's been dealing with you for a year
and you're still doing it?
I go, you know what?
I made, and I spoke it out loud. I made a vow beginning tonight. I will
never ever again drink a Coke or a Pepsi. Chris's eyeballs got big. She was, oh, wow. Oh, oh, you
just I said, yeah, I did. I just made a vow. And I will tell you, I have never had a Coke or Pepsi since that day
None in fact from time to
I've had a few times where I've had a dream
that somebody gave me a drink and
They sipped on it and I realized it was coca-cola and in the dream. I said I got to spit it out. I made a vow to God
So Why did he tell me is he saying drinking coca-cola and Pepsi is a sin? No, it's not
But it could have been for one or two reasons
He knew in the future some health crisis. I was going to have if I continued to drink
Coca-Cola and Pepsi.
That's one reason.
The other reason was simply a test of obedience.
I don't know.
I just know he said don't drink it and I did.
I stopped. These are private affairs. This is what Paul's talking about. These are
private affairs. Keep it between you and the Lord. verse 22 do you have faith have it to yourself before god
happy is he who doesn't judge himself in that which he approves yes happy i don't go around
telling everybody hey you know i made a vow not to drink coke i why would i tell people that's people. That's between me and the Lord. It's something he asked me to do and I did it and
I haven't suffered for it. So the question, has thou faith, is addressing believers, disciples who are confident in their liberty and he's calling them to hold
such faith humbly with sober thinking.
Has thou faith?
He asks.
Are you super confident about your liberty?
Hold that confidence humbly.
Keeping faith to thyself before God.
Practice your convictions privately
to prevent divisions. Happy is he.
It speaks of the joy of a clear conscience.
Yes.
That
disciples act in ways that align with their beliefs.
Not condemning yourself
ensures that disciples avoid guilt by misusing their freedoms. Again it's a
teaching of balance. Balance your personal faith with your love for others
and make the unity of the church the priority.
So that the church is in one accord,
not divided up into factions,
not having cliques and groups of people
who don't talk to each other in the church,
but one body, one faith.
church, but one body, one faith. And then we get to the last verse in chapter 14.
King James, and he that doubteth is damned if he eat.
Oh, this one's big, isn't it? Because he eateth not of faith, for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.
World English Bible, but he who doubts is condemned if he eats because it isn't of faith
and whatever is not of faith is sin.
The King James, they just went for it.
King James, he that doubteth is damned if he eats.
So it's a warning that acting against your conscience, such as eating food with doubt, you believe that it's wrong, but you went ahead and did it.
Leads to condemnation. Right. And the phrase,
whosoever is not of faith is sin, or whatever, whatever is not of faith is sin.
That says actions must be guided by confidence in God's approval.
Yes. Isn't it interesting that Paul brings faith into the equation here?
You know, on Fridays we do Faith Fridays and we talk about faith,
and we talk about being able to believe God for healing, for deliverance, for miraculous supply.
But Paul applies faith to pork chops pork chops yes yep in this you know this isn't taught in
modern churches today at all is not of faith is sin.
Yes.
I could go off on a rant about religious people upset about somebody else's sin, a real sin, all right, not questioning,
real sin, okay? And yet their lives are full of doubt and unbelief. And they don't see
their doubt and unbelief as sin. Right. They see somebody else's action. That's sin. I know what that is. That's sin. But they
don't see their lack of faith and their unbelief. They don't see that as sin. And verse 23 says,
whatever is not of faith is sin. If you don't have faith, you are in sin. If you don't have faith you are in sin if you
Don't do things in faith. It's sin
Anything that is not a faith is sin without faith it is impossible to please God
If you don't please God, what are you doing?
You're displeasing God. Can we say
faith is a big deal to the Lord? It's a high priority for him. It gets his
attention, doesn't it? And now he brings it down to matters of
conscience. Food, days of the week, things like that.
Whatever you do, do it by faith in the Lord.
You know, Jesus would be, and He marveled at their faith.
Yes.
Nowhere in all of Israel have I seen such faith?
Because of their unbelief, he could do no mighty miracles.
Faith is a priority to him
because faith means you believe him and you trust him.
You believe him and you trust him.
And from what I have seen,
most Christians live their daily lives without faith.
Doc, let's see, who was it? Maybe I can pull this up.
I just read this yesterday.
It's Old Testament.
I want to say ASA.
I just read it yesterday morning.
Let's see. Yes, Asa was Asa. Second Chronicles, chapter 16, verse 12.
In the 39th year of his reign, talking about King Asa,
Asa was diseased in his feet.
His disease was exceedingly great. Now listen to this.
Yet in his disease, he did not seek the Lord
but just the physicians.
but just the physicians.
That's Second Chronicles, chapter 16, verses 12 and 13. Yeah, so I didn't read 13,
because now Asa slept with his fathers.
He died, in other words.
And died in the 41st year of his reign.
So in the 39th year of his reign as king,
he got a disease in his feet.
Right.
He only went to the doctors, he didn't go to the Lord.
And so he suffered with that for two years before he died.
Two years later, he died.
He could have been healed.
What was his sin? The sin was going, the sin was not going to the doctors.
The sin was going to the doctors first. Yes. He had no faith.
He lacked faith. He did not trust in the Lord God of Israel.
He went first, but just, he never went to the Lord.
In this case, he only went to the doctors.
If he had gone to the Lord,
the Lord would have either healed him right out or the Lord would have given him an instruction.
Go to such doctor and he'll give you a therapy, a treatment.
The point is you go to the Lord first.
This is why I believe in healing. I believe in divine healing. If somebody says to me, so you don't
think people should go to the doctors? Oh, no, that's not true at all. You want to go
to Dr. Jesus first. And he will either treat you himself, or he will refer you to another physician. But go to him first. Folks,
there are people right now listening to me. You're sick and you haven't gone to
the Lord first. You need to repent of that sin. Repent of that sin. You didn't
go to the Lord first. You've been going to doctors
and you've never expressed faith in the Lord to heal you. You had to repent of that sin
and ask Dr. Jesus to heal you. Yes. Asa lived with great disease in his feet for two years and died.
Man. What killed him wasn't the disease in his feet.
It was lack of faith.
He died for lack of faith.
Oh, I didn't expect to put that one in there today, dog.
That just popped out.
in there today, Doc. That just popped out. I don't think I need to say anything else.
Doubt's a killer, Rick.
Yeah, so by faith, we live by faith, we walk by faith, we live by faith, everything's by faith. If you've got a serious sickness and disease right now and you're going to doctors, okay,
I'm not telling you not to go to the doctor.
Go to the Lord. go to the doctor. I'm telling you, go to the Lord.
Go to the Lord and ask for healing.
If he doesn't heal you at that moment,
and if he gives you an instruction,
go to such and such doctor for this type of treatment,
then do it.
Right.
But he might just heal you right there on the spot
or within days.
But go to the Lord first because without it,
it's sin.
Whatsoever is without faith is sin.
Sure is without, faith is sin. Boy, that preaches to all of us.
That preaches to all of us.
Yes.
You know, I...
We're not just talking about physical healing here.
I mean, it's every aspect of your life.
You know, there's some things internally within the ministry here that we've asked the Lord for.
And just within several days, we've seen miraculous breakthroughs that have come that we were Rick was sharing some stories
yesterday and we're both we're all sitting here going wow that's the Lord it's the Lord doing
that particular thing I won't go into all the details everything but three specific things
that we were asking the Lord for and bang bang bang uh It's like the Lord said, you're on the right path. You're
on the right path. You're on the right path.
Yes. Yes. What Doc's talking about is the transition of this ministry. And yesterday
was a beautiful day, the Lord just confirming, and it was things of favor.
Right.
Things of favor.
I wanna make it very clear again.
I did not tell you to never go to the doctor.
I wanna make this very, very clear.
I did not say that.
Okay.
I didn't tell you not to take your medicine.
I told you that you go to the Lord first
and express your faith in Him.
Let Him guide you.
Let Him do it.
The reason Asa died from his foot disease
is because he never went to the Lord.
He only went to doctors.
Right.
So that's the lesson in there.
Doc, that just popped, I think it was yesterday
that popped out. What is today? Today's
Tuesday, right? Wednesdays. It could have been Monday. It could have been Monday. I'm
like, wait, how come I never saw that scripture before? That's one of those. I had it. I
didn't know that was in the Bible.
You know, there's a bigger story on Asa too. This wasn't just a one-off for Asa. This was a pattern in his life.
There was a prophet that came to Asa and said,
listen, you're going to get into a lot of trouble here because you depended on the king of Syria instead of depending on the Lord.
And so what did Asa do, the king?
He locked up the prophet.
He didn't want to hear anyone tell him that he was not depending on the Lord.
And after he locked up the prophet, that's when he came down with the disease.
So but it was a lot. It was a lifestyle for him to avoid seeking the Lord.
Are you are you saying that the disease was the
the product of his disobedience? I'm saying that it came after his continued disobedience.
Okay. There was a progression.
Your doubt is a killer.
Doubt will damn you. Doubt will kill you.
That's how serious doubt is.
Wonder why the disease in his feet.
Was that to say, Asa,
you're trying to stand on your own?
Hey, I like that, that'll preach. So.
He couldn't stand anymore.
His feet were diseased.
Look, I'm not telling you the Lord's
gonna strike you down here.
That's not where I'm going here.
Thank God he's merciful.
But he expects us to have faith in him.
Right. And it comes down to...
He does get very...
He holds faith in high regard.
I'll just put it like that.
Right. And we tend to think of the application of faith in big, giant things.
But Paul brings it down to very practical day-to-day living and relationships with
others. He says, you've got to live by faith, living with your brother or sister in Christ.
That's right. So yesterday I switched office chairs, and at the end of the day,
I could barely walk.
My left leg was really aching in my knee and under my knee.
It's just from using a different office chair.
And it really hurt last night, Doc.
I was in pain last night.
So when I got up this morning, after I started moving around,
the pain was coming back in.
But all of a sudden, I just had to say, no, wait.
I prayed.
I prayed this morning.
And I am not going to limp.
I am going to walk on this leg.
And I made a decision, I'm going to do something that I couldn't do yesterday.
I'm going to do it by faith.
Yesterday, I was limping.
I had to hold on to a rail going downstairs.
I was limp, I'm really hurting.
But this morning I said, no, I have prayed this morning,
Lord, heal my leg. And I am going to do something today that I could not do yesterday.
Do you have stiffness in your shoulder? After you pray and ask for healing, lift your shoulder.
after you pray and ask for healing, lift your shoulder.
Lift your arm, I mean, lift your arm. Do things that you can't do.
Those are actions of faith.
And it might be a little bit today,
and tomorrow's a little bit more,
and by Saturday you've got your hand up higher.
At some point, you're going to have that freedom little by little
It's faith. It's faith. It's faith. It's faith
Do today what you couldn't do yesterday
Okay
That's it
All right. Well, and I don't I don't have to go work on news, but I
am going to go work on a new book.
Praise God.
That's great.
And looking forward to that here in the very near future.

I laid off all the employees
who did those kind of things for me.
So I was like, wait a minute.
I gotta find people to do these things for me.
But it'll get done, it'll get done.
The Lord is good.
He's, yesterday was a blessed day.
Yeah, Lord, great day of favor yesterday. One day of favors with a thousand days of labor.
Yes.
All right.
And I have a word for somebody. I Lord gave it to me early this morning. I don't know who it's for, but he wants to remind you that he specializes in making beauty from ashes.
Praise God. He's an artistic craftsman. You can give him a bucket of ashes and he makes something beautiful out of it. Okay.
Wow.
And, um, you know, doc, why, why in the old Testament, why do people sit in ashes?
Well, there was in sorrow and repentance and what did the ashes represent?
Really despair and a sacrifice being made, a loss of some kind.
The product of their sins, their disobedience.
Here, here's my ashes.
I'm sitting in it.
Okay.
Everything's been reduced to ashes.
Everything's burned up.
And the Lord says, hey, the Lord says,
hey, give me those ashes.
I can do something with that.
Yes.
Okay.
So maybe you just went through a divorce.
Maybe you just had a business failure.
Maybe it's something in your life and you've got ashes.
The Lord wants you to know today, give him the ashes.
He can work with those
Yeah, why do you want to keep them and cry over give your ashes to the Lord and ask him to make something beautiful
See that's an act of faith. That's right as anything Lord. Look
I've got a whole basket full a bucket full of ashes. I
Read in your word that you make beautiful things from ashes. So here you go.
I'm doing this by faith. Yeah, don't say you don't have nothing. You've got ashes. You got
ashes. I guarantee you everybody's got ashes. Everybody. And God will work with that.
And God will reward you with that. Thank you very much.
Thank you for being here with us today.
Thank you for your prayers.
Stay alert about what's going on in Pakistan and India.
Things could change quickly.
We could have radiation in the atmosphere within days.
This is a very serious situation right now.
Let's pray that these two countries don't use their nuclear arsenal.
I don't need it right now, Doc. I just don't need it. I don't need radiation right now. No, that'd be one more thing to have to consider and so.
But by faith I will resist it. Amen. Amen. I'll believe a faith shield is around me.
I won't I won't inhale any isotopes.
All right, love you so much. See you tomorrow. God bless you.
