TRUNEWS with Rick Wiles - Morning Manna - Nov 13, 2025 - Matthew 13:18-23 - Parable of the Sower Explained
Episode Date: November 13, 2025Today’s teaching unpacks Jesus’ own explanation of the Parable of the Sower (Matthew 13:18–23) and why it’s the “master key” to understanding every other parable. Rick and Doc stress Jesus...’ solemn call—“Hear ye therefore”—as an invitation to active listening and willing hearts. Drawing from Luke 8:11–15 and G. Campbell Morgan’s rules, they show that Jesus is the Sower, the Word is the seed, and people who receive the Word are “sown” by the Lord into the world’s places of pain. Fruitfulness is determined by the heart’s condition: wayside, rocky, thorny, or good ground. We’re urged to let the Holy Spirit plow our hearts, cut away the thorns of distraction, and bear lasting fruit—thirty, sixty, and a hundredfold—for the King’s harvest.Teachers: Rick Wiles and Doc BurkhartYou can partner with us by visiting FaithandValues.com, calling 1-888-519-4935, or by mail at PO Box 399 Vero Beach, FL 32961.MEGA FIRE reveals the ancient recurring cycles of war and economic collapse that have shaped history for 600 years. 17 countries checking in this morning. So we appreciate each and every one of you from around
the world and, of course, all over the United States, at least 25 states that I've listed here
this morning as well. So very blessed to have you here. We are in Matthew chapter 13. And so
if you've got your Bibles, let's turn there and we'll read together. I'm reading
from the King James verses 18 to 23 of chapter 13.
Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.
When anyone heareth the word of the kingdom and understandeth it not,
then cometh the wicked one and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart.
This is he which received seed by the wayside.
But he that received the seed into stony places,
the same as he that he hearth the word and anon with joy received it.
Yet hath he not root in himself, but
durth for a while, for when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, by and by
he is offended. He also that receives seed among thorns is he that hearth the word, and the care
of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful. But he that
receive a seed into the good ground is he that hearth the word and understandeth it, which also
beareth fruit and bring forth some a hundredfold, some sixty.
and some 30 so god bless the reading of his word today and welcome to morning manna amen so beginning in
verse 18 jesus presents to his disciples his interpretation the only interpretation that's right
of the parable the sower it's his parable and it's his interpretation so it starts with hear ye therefore
the parable of the sower the modern English is here then the parable of the farmer
hear ye therefore is a very solemn serious invitation to pay attention to something very
important with deep spiritual meaning hear ye signifies
active listening active comprehension of the explanation or the interpretation he's
about to give of this parable here ye implies that grasping the meaning of the
parable is crucial because it serves as a key to understanding other parables
Hear ye literally means you hear.
Moms and dads will say to a child,
you hear what I'm saying.
You hear me now.
That's what he's saying.
You hear me now.
The responsibility is upon each person who hears the parable
to ponder its significance and its
application to their life it means that listening to the parable and comprehending it is a matter of
personal choice it implies that grasping the meaning of a parable is the key to understanding other
parables over in mark chapter four verse 13 jesus said that
The parable of the sower is the master key to deciphering all the other parables,
Mark 413, and he said under them, know you not this parable?
And how then will you know all parables?
So discerning the principles embedded within the parables is
absolutely crucial
for spiritual growth and maturity
because they hold
deep truths about the kingdom of God.
And this parable in particular is the
like you said, the key to understanding all the other parables.
Yeah, if you get this one wrong,
you're going to have misinterpretations of the other parables.
That's right.
So hear ye therefore also implies that not everyone will grasp the full meaning of the parable,
but only those who are open and receptive to the truth will receive the deeper understanding.
It means that understanding the parable requires more than surface level comprehension.
It necessitates a receptive heart, a willingness to engage with the teaching on a deeper level.
So what's a parable? A parable, this is the easy.
simplest definition. A parable is an earthly story with a heavenly meaning. If you just
remember that line, you'll understand the meaning of a parable. An earthly story with a heavenly
meaning. The word parable literally means to cast something alongside something else.
right with the intention of explaining one thing by using the other as a teaching tool
so i mean i'm trying to think you know giving an example um let's say there's a house
and you cast something right beside the house and the thing that you cast beside it is the
teaching tool to explain the house that's what a parable is a parable throws alongside something
that is familiar on earth next to something from heaven that is mysterious
so matthew 13 verses 10 to 13 the disciples came to jesus and asked
why do you speak why do you speak to those people in parables i mean you can you can hear them saying
master why didn't you just tell them what you wanted them to know why are you talking in riddles
i mean they were they were sincerely asking the question
at verse 11 he answered and said unto them because it is given
unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven but to them it is not given for whosoever hath to him
shall be given and he shall have more abundance but whosoever hath not from him shall be taken away
even that which he hath therefore speak i to them in parables because they see see not and hearing they hear not
neither do they understand so as we've been learning in recent lessons god deliberately withholds from
proud and unrepentant sinners understanding of the deep truths embedded inside parables
but to them it is not given.
Who is given understanding?
Because it is given unto you.
You.
To know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven.
We are responsible for the decision God makes
about whether to reveal the parables to us.
It's God's sovereign decision, but he makes it based on our desire to know the truth.
Amen.
I didn't say our ability because people who are denied the revelation have the ability to understand.
They don't have the desire.
And so God withholds it.
until they exhibit sincere interests and willingness to learn.
Why would you waste your breath teaching something to somebody who has no interest in knowing what you're teaching?
The only people who do that are public school teachers.
They're paid to teach it whether they, the students listen or not.
So Jesus' instruction, hear ye therefore, it underscores the significance of actively listening, actively seeking understanding.
It means that revelation is available to those who are receptive and attentive.
It has nothing to do with your IQ, your education level, your resume, your pedigree, your upbringing, God's looking at the heart.
So Jesus speaks directly to his disciples, and he tells them that they have a special privilege of receiving
his insights into the kingdom.
So once again, we're seeing the responsibility of discipleship
that each person is responsible for his or her attitude
towards the kingdom.
God is not going to shove
spiritual wisdom and revelation down the throat of somebody
that's fighting off receiving it.
He only offers the spoonful of wisdom and revelation
to those who have a mouth that's open.
Amen.
He's not giving castor oil like moms give sick children.
You know, you hold them and force it down their throat.
You ever tried to get a pill in an animal's mouth that won't open its mouth?
Pretty difficult.
You might get bit.
So the disciples were treated as privileged.
They were recipients.
of knowledge of the kingdom recipients of divine revelation entrusted with understanding the mysteries
of the kingdom of heaven now i got to tell you my my teacher my mentor is a man who's been gone from
this earth for many decades i think he passed away in 19 i want to say
45, Pastor G. Campbell Morgan, and I thought I understood the parables until I started
studying his teachings on the parables. Then I realized how little I knew. Pastor Morgan taught
three rules of interpretation of the parables. Number one, simplicity of interpretation.
Pastor Morgan said the simplest interpretation is the most likely to be the true one.
Number two, restriction in the application of the pictures to the limits clearly marked by the king himself.
Number three, a consistent use of the figurative terms employed, both with this,
in the system and with the general use of scripture, except where specifically otherwise
stated.
And that is an important key right there, that third key.
Because that is the principle that we can apply across all parables now.
So, Doc, take a moment and explain rule number three.
All right.
So what Pastor Morgan is saying there is that once a symbol or pattern is established,
in Scripture, you can use that same symbol and pattern across all similar passages
unless the scripture says something different. So for instance, we use the example
in the parable here of the sewer of birds. Okay. So in this parable, the birds are
considered the enemy. They're stealing the seed. And so for every other
parable where birds appear, birds are the enemy unless the scripture says something different.
So in the, there's another parable, the parable of the mustard seed, where it talks about the birds
ending up in the branches of the mustard seed later on. Dispensationalists and modern evangelicals
say the birds are a blessing, and that just shows how expansive the gospel is. But if we're using
Morgan's principles, then the birds in the mustard.
seed plant are actually the enemy that are in the in the mustard seed tree that was a key for me
in understanding the parable of the mustard seed because i don't have been taught that too but using
morgan's principles it takes on a whole different mean when we get to the mustard seed parable we'll
explain all that but uh you know if there's a sower he's the same sewer all the way through
If there's a field, the field's the same all the way through in the parables unless it says different.
So that's what Morgan means by that third principle.
That's right.
And I remember, and it's probably, I'm guessing, five, six years ago, when I was just learning these things through reading G. Campbell Morgan's Bible commentaries and his books.
and and I was I was getting it I thought I was getting it
it it was one of those things where
I knew the light was on
but I wasn't sure what to do with it
I could see it
I knew there was a revelation coming into my mind
into my spirit about the parables
and and so I was talking to Doc about it
You know, I'd go into the church and, you know, in our conversations, I would tell him what I'm learning from Pastor Morgan.
Well, on this third rule, Doc caught on to it a lot faster than I did.
He ran with it.
And I remember the Sunday night, and Doc was delivering the sermon that Sunday night, and he taught on the parable of the mustard seed.
And Doc was teaching an interpretation that was totally opposite of everything I had ever been taught about that parable.
And I was sitting there in the congregation listening to Doc.
My spirit was saying, this is true.
What he's teaching is true.
My head was saying, no, I don't want it to be true.
I want to believe the interpretation I was taught, but my spirit was saying, you were taught wrong.
Doc's teaching the right interpret.
And it was new to Doc at the same time.
I mean, this was a revelation to him.
But I was sitting there struggling with mentally accepting something I didn't want to accept,
but my spirit saying it's true.
You know, Doc, you talk about dog hairs in our brain.
That night, I didn't just have dog hairs.
I had a fur ball.
You know, I mean, it was a fur ball.
And I had to go home and pray about it.
And, you know, the Lord had to say to me, you've got to let go.
You've got to let go of the stuff you've been taught.
I'm teaching you.
Let go of the religious stuff.
you've been taught and let me teach you the truth so what's a list of figures in the parable
a sewer seed birds soil sun thorns fruit enemy reapers or servants harvest tree leaven meal a woman a man
a treasure a merchant a pearl a net a seashore fish these are all
all figures that we will see in various parables. Some of the figures appear in multiple parables,
but their significance and meaning never change. The figure always stands for the same thing
in whatever parable it is found. For example, the sower is always Jesus. And yet, what
I was taught what I just heard a week ago, a local pastor teaching on this parable, he taught
what I had always been taught. The sower is anybody who's sharing the word of God? No. That's
not what it says. The sower is always Jesus. Yes. The field is always the world.
Right. So, for example, when we get over to the parable of the tears,
Jesus is he is sowing good seed, but there's also someone else that's
sewing bad seed, that Jesus isn't sowing the bad seed.
There's two sowers. There's two sows. There's two sows. Right.
In that parable, there are two people sewing.
So birds always represent evil spirits.
as Doc said.
Now, it doesn't mean birds are evil.
It just means in the parables,
whenever there's a bird, it means an evil spirit.
So, according to G. Campbell, Morgan,
it is wrong to interpret these figures one way in one parable
and another way in another parable.
And why do we say that the birds are evil?
you if you read verse four chapter 13 says when he sowed some seeds fell by the wayside
and the fowls came and devoured them up okay so the birds came and ate them verse 19
Jesus says when anyone hear the word of the kingdom and understandeth it that not then
cometh the wicked one catches the way that which was sewn in his heart and so the the
fowls represent the wicked one Jesus says to you this is what it
represents that's right so birds don't represent demons in one parable and angels in
another parable right the meaning of a parabolic figures remains the same
throughout all the parables you cannot mix and match the meaning of parabolic
figures to suit your theological doctrines you know on the muster seat I like
I personally like the wrong interpretation.
It's a pretty good interpretation,
unless you're, if you're not following the key,
but if you've got the key, you know, the roadmap, if you will,
then you truly understand.
And really, it's a bigger blessing because it's a warning
that as the kingdom of God, you know,
in the parable of the mustard,
as the kingdom of God expands the world, the forces of evil are going to do everything they can
to inhibit that growth.
And so, yeah, once you have the key, it really is a blessing.
And, you know, there have been people that have written us and have emailed us and said,
you know what, I've read the parables all my life and never understood until you guys explained
it this way.
Yes.
So, you know, the parable, the muster see.
and we'll teach this later
we're working our way there
but it's
the standard
traditional interpretation
it's a happy one
it's a positive message
the church is going to get bigger and bigger and bigger
and look at all the birds in the trees
I mean that's the positive thinking
the message that
churches are teaching
it sounds wonderful but it's not the right interpretation so let's see let's examine the
identity of the seed and the identity of what or who is sewn now this one this one took
me some time to understand again I learned it from G Campbell Morgan
people who don't agree with me on this teaching, this is not something Rick Wiles dreamed up.
If you have an issue with it, you take it up with G. Campbell Morgan.
Because none of us will ever reach the level of spiritual depth that was in the ministry of G. Campbell Morgan.
So we start with the premise that the sower always represents Jesus Christ.
The sower does not represent preachers of the gospel, nor believers sharing the word of God with others.
Even though Jesus uses them, he's still the sower.
he does not give up that role he is the sewer it is always jesus who does the sewing
he uses people as his tools to do his sewing but he's the sewer you know farmers have
they have machines they attach to their tractor that spread seed but the machine is in the
sower the farmer is that's how you have to see this jesus is the farmer
the sower went forth to sow he didn't sit in a recliner the sower went forth to sow it implies a determination
to perform a specific action he went forth jesus goes forth every day to sow amen he's
sowing somewhere now jesus has never stopped going forth to sow he won't stop going forth to sew until he comes back
that's when the sewing ends yes yeah you don't sew after a harvest yeah so that's right you don't sew after the harvest
He's coming back for one great harvest and then the sewing stops.
Jesus doesn't sew willy-nilly, hit or miss, haphazardly.
He goes forth intentionally to sow.
He knows exactly where he's going and he knows exactly where he's going to sow.
And Jesus knows that all the seed he sews
he knows that not all the seed he sows will produce a harvest for him right think about that
he's sewing and yet he knows not every seed will produce in fact most of it won't produce a harvest
and he also knows that among those who are sewn that do produce a harvest for the kingdom
the yield will vary from 30 times to 60 times to 100 times he's not even going to get a uniform yield from the seed that does produce right and that's in the good ground yes most of what he sows will produce no harvest and the ones that do produce a harvest will give him varying degrees of success but he's happy with it
Because some harvest is better than no harvest.
Any football or basketball coach will tell you that losing is important, essential to winning.
Every sales professional knows that losing is important to winning.
Yes, every no brings you closer to a yes.
Yes.
So Jesus looks at it, hey, every seed I sew, I'm getting closer to one that produces.
He's not stopping because he knows that three-fourths of the ones he sews will do nothing.
He's thinking about the one that will produce.
Now, to get this subtle distinction in who or what is sown, we're going to go over to Luke
Chapter 8, and Doc, I'll have you read verses 11 through 15, Luke 8, 11 through 15.
All right, Luke chapter 8, sorry, turn to John there.
What were the verses again, Rick?
11 through 15.
Okay.
Luke 8, 11 through 15, correct?
Yes.
Okay.
All right, here we go.
So beginning of verse 11, Luke chapter 8, now the parable is this.
The seed is the word of God.
Those by the wayside are they that he,
then cometh the devil and takeeth away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.
They on the rock are they which, when they hear, receive the word with joy, and these have no root,
which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.
Verse 14, and that which fell among thorns are they which, when they have heard, go forth and are choked with cares
and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.
Verse 15, but that on the good ground are they.
which in an honest and good heart having heard the word keep it and bring forth fruit
with patience now I can't tell you with the day that I read these verses or when I
was reading G Campbell Morgan's teaching on the parable the sawer and he got to
this part and he said you to understand it you have to not only read Matthew but you have to
read Luke 8 is necessary to understand Matthew 13 I can't tell you how many times I had to
reread the pages of Dr. Morgan's book and go back and forth to the scriptures I had to
I had a difficult time in my mind grasping what he was saying.
And then the light came on, I saw it.
But I'll tell you, I had a difficult time with it.
And it was like my reading of G. Campbell Morgan's book just came to an abrupt halt.
I couldn't get past those pages.
Because I knew I can't go on until I understand what he just said.
And I struggled with it.
Maybe, you know, hopefully some of you are brighter than me and you'll get it really quick.
It was difficult for me because the dog hair is in my brain.
So let's work our way through this.
In Matthew 13, Jesus said the seed is the word of God.
but in Luke 18 he says that the seed is also the people who heard the word
a seed has an outer shell right encased inside the shell is the embryo that germinates
when the seed is planted in a soil and watered yes you cannot
separate the embryo from the shell. You must sew the shell and the embryo together.
When a farmer or gardener holds a handful of seeds, he or she sees the outer shell, but knows that
beneath the outer shell is the element of life that will reproduce itself and give a harvest.
The shell isn't giving life.
No, the shell is carrying the embryo.
Rick, I read an article on Friday afternoon that talked about that they had uncovered at Jamestown at an archaeological site some seed that had been stored in a container.
And they, now the seed had been stored in a container for, I guess now what?
That was 1600s, right?
at Jamestown, late 1600s.
So it'd been in the ground for about 300 years.
And they took and planted that, those seeds.
It was corn, maize, and it grew.
Yes.
So, but that shell protected the kernel inside all those years.
Now, it was protected from the elements too and everything,
but the fact of the matter is that that shell protected that kernel,
that seed inside, and it was planted in the ground.
we had 300-year-old corn.
Doug, I've read similar stories about seed found in pyramids in Egypt.
Yes.
So we're talking about 3,000-year seeds?
Yes.
So let's walk through this slowly.
Luke 18, verse 11 and 12.
Now the parable is this.
Notice.
The seed is the word of God.
Okay, we got that part.
And most Bible teachers and preachers will say, well, there it is, Rick.
They stop right there.
And they stop there.
He said, the seed is the word of God.
Do you disagree?
No, I don't disagree.
But look at verse 12 of Luke 8.
Those by the wayside are they.
Yes, there's your key.
those by the wayside are they that here then come with the devil and taketh away the word out of their hearts
lest they should be lest they should believe and be saved who or what is by the wayside a seed or a person
they he didn't say it people who heard the word of god are they by the wayside how did they get there
how did they get there a soer went forth to sow they heard the word to sow they heard the word
but the devil came and took away the word out of their hearts before they believed and were saved what was taken the embryo was removed from the shell yes and all that remains is an empty hall you got it
it's similar to finding a pile of walnut shells at the bottom of a tree but when you pick them up you realize that the squirrel's already
them open and ate the walnuts inside the the seed shells are there but empty of the life
reproducing nuts but how did the seed get by the wayside a sewer went forth to
sow what did he sow people jesus sows people
people who have heard his word yes where they land oh my where they land is determined by the
condition of their hearts amen jesus doesn't deliberately sow people on the wayside or on rocky ground
yes they choose where they land yes that's the distinction you need to see in this parable
Luke 18 or excuse me Luke 8 verse 13 they on the rock are they which when they hear receive the word with joy
and these have no root for which for a while believe and in time of temptation fall away who is on the rock a seed or a person yes they on the rock are they who are they people who heard the word which is the embryo but had no spiritual roots and fell away when tempted
how did the seed land on rock because the people who heard the word decided they would be on a rock it wasn't jesus who made the decision the people who heard the word made the decision but he went forth to sow and he sowed the people they
the word they on the rock are they this is where i struggled for i don't know doc if it was days or
a week or two i struggled with this because there was no way i was going to call g campbell morgan
a false teacher there was no way that was going to happen i just had to keep saying lord
G. Campbell Morgan knew more about the Bible than I'll ever know.
And he saw something here, I can't see. Help me.
And now I get it.
Luke 814.
And that which fell among the thorns are they.
Which, when they have heard, go forth and are choked.
with cares and riches and pleasures of those life and bring no fruit to perfection who are they
that fell among the thorns jesus tells you and that which fell among the thorns are they
they or people people fell among the thorns people fell upon the rocks people
fell upon the wayside. People fell upon the good soil. The Word of God did not fall,
and it did not fail. People fell among thorns. The word was inside them when they fell among
thorns. When they have heard. Who heard what? When the people who fell among thorns. When the people
who fell among thorns heard the word of god go forth in the world yes these are people who go forth to
represent jesus and the kingdom they get off to a good start but they don't go far
they get entangled with making money paying bills dealing with problems trying to get ahead
trying to get some pleasures in life eventually they stop going forth there's no harvest
look what it says Luke 814 and that which fell among the thorns are they which when
they have heard go forth these people actually start to do something with the
word that they received yes but then they get entangled with briars and
thorns and they stop going forth
Luke 8 verse 15 but that on the good ground are they which in an honest and good heart having heard the word keep it and bring forth fruit with patience
who produces a harvest for god but that on the good ground are they
referring to a seed he's saying but that seed on the good ground are they people so the word is
sown in the hearts of men and women the women are the outer seeds who encase the word of god in
their hearts and the condition of their hearts determines the ability of the seed to produce a
harvest. How much time I got here?
Oh, about 15. Okay, 15 minutes. Okay. So to further bolster my claim that the seed represents
people who heard the word. I'm going to jump ahead in Matthew 13. And Doc, this time,
I want you to read Matthew 13, verses 36.
through 39. This is the parable of the tears. Matthew 13, verses 36 through 39. Okay. So picking up
verse 36, then Jesus sent the multitude away and went into the house and his disciples came unto him
saying, declare unto us the parable of the tears of the field. He answered and said unto them,
he that soweth good seed is the son of man. The field is the world.
the good seed are the children of the kingdom but the tears are the children of the wicked one
the enemy that sowed them is the devil the harvest is the end of the world and the reapers are the
angels this is really clear who sows the good seed the son of man where is the seed sown the world
Who or what is the good seed?
Jesus said,
the good seed are the children of the kingdom.
Who or what are the tears?
The children of Satan.
Who sowed the tears?
The tears of the children of Satan.
Who sowed them?
The enemy that sowed them is the devil.
Matthew 13, 36, and 39 makes it so clear that the good seed are the Christians who have received the kingdom.
I want to repeat something.
The condition of their hearts determines the ability of the seed to produce a harvest.
and here's another very important distinction to grasp the emphasis is not on the soil i've heard bible
teachers and preachers teach that this should be called the parable of the soil yes it's not
it is not about the soil yes let me explain this
There was soil, dirt, on the wayside.
It was impacted.
There was soil on the rocky ground, but not deep enough to support healthy plants.
There was soil where the thorns were growing.
Thorns need soil too.
The thorns usurp the moisture and the nutrients in the soil
and deprive the plants from receiving any.
you have to assume that it was good soil the thorns were growing in good soil the issue is not the soil the harvest does not depend upon the soil but upon the seed sown the seed represents people who heard the word of god the outer shell represents the people the inner the inner embryo represents the word that they heard
the harvest depends on the condition of their heart if you say it's the soil that implies there was good soil in one place and terrible soil and another place that's not the issue the soil of look you can have impacted good
soil. Yes. And you can have a thin layer of good soil on rock. And you can have
orange growing in good soil like you said earlier. That's right. So Jesus teaches us in
the parable of the sewer that it is our responsibility for the harvest or lack of
harvest based on what we are in ourselves. What does
what do farmers do in the spring before they plant they plow the fields why don't they just go out and
cast seed on top of the ground because the ground has to be broken up and then they rake it they're doing all
these processes before they put the seed in they till it they rake it they do a lot of things to get
that soil broken up so it's real fine they take that plow down deep take it down deep and break up the
hard dirt then they take a tiller across it they're preparing the soil for the seed they're
preparing it for the embryo.
So it's the responsibility
of the person
to allow
the Holy Spirit to sink his
cloud deep in your
heart.
He's got to break up
the hard parts of your
heart and your mind.
He's got to
and then once that
big, those big clunker
of hard soil come up to the surface then he's got to go over it and and break it up into smaller
pieces before you ever plant the embryo in the seed and if you don't do those steps you're not
going to grow anything right the birds are going to come and and eat the seed
I throw seed out here in my yard every day and I've never had any plants grow you know why the birds eat it as soon as I throw it out right if I didn't want them to eat it I would I would get up my own planet in the yard
apostle Paul wrote in Romans 822 where we know that the whole creation growing
and travails in pain together until now.
What does this have to do with the parable of the sower?
Well, why does creation groan in travail?
Why does anything grown in travail?
It's a response to pain.
Have you ever considered that God's creation is in pain?
Creation has been groaning since the fall of Adam and Eve.
A lot of people think that creation groans at the end of the age.
No.
No, it's been groaning ever since sin entered this world.
Sin is a virus.
Creation was never gotten.
God never intended creation to contain a virus, just like your body cannot have a virus.
The pain is caused by mankind's sins throughout the world.
Every place on planet Earth has been infected with sin.
Therefore, creation groans and is seeking relief from.
its misery so this is really important that you get this how does god respond to his creations groans
he sows men and women who have heard his word and received it and he sows them into the dark
places of the world that need light
He's responding to his creation groaning.
The medicine for the pain that his creation is experiencing is the Word of God.
So he rushes medicine to the places where creation is hurting.
Where does your compassion shine?
what places of pain attract your compassion and love some people love to visit elderly people
and take care of them that's jesus sowing them into creation's pain some people have compassion
for drug addicts and alcoholics that's jesus sowing them into creation's pain some people love to visit the
sick in hospitals and prisoners in jail that's jesus sewing them into creation's pain some people
have a passion for children others have a passion to mentor young men or women some people hate
foolishness and have a passion to teach wisdom where has he planted you what is your passion
what releases your compassion what makes you angry your righteous anger is a clue to your field of assignment yes
god wants you to fix something because it causes his creation to moan
jesus is the light of the world and he sows you and me into dark places of the world to shine light
light because his creation is groaning so what influence do each of us have upon the age we live
in i i don't have any influence on the age of world war two because it's passed right
i'm not going to have any influence on the age to come 50 years from now because i won't be here
I have influence on the age that I'm living in.
This is the only age that I've been sewn into
that I can produce a harvest for my king
where I can take light into the dark places of the world
where I can be used by God to alleviate the pain
that his creation is experiencing.
Right.
And it seems like God specializes us,
the things that disturb us and the things that
bother us are the things that he's called us to address.
Yes.
You know, I had a friend of mine that every time he'd drive by a house that was run
down, the weeds were overgrown and everything, he was, you know, man, I don't understand
how that house can be empty.
That could be, you know, a house somebody could be living in.
Okay.
And then one day he said, you know what?
I'm going to do something about it.
And so he went and bought the house and redid it.
and people were living it and that he started a whole business based on just what what pained him it
pained him to drive by and see a livable house not being lived in i mean i'm using that as an example
there but it was a great example it was something that bothered him but he may ended up making a career
out of it that's right the lord is seeking a harvest from each of us if we are in
christ and listen to this if we are in christ and his word is in us our lives will produce rich
harvest for his glory and pleasure amen some people excitedly receive the word of god and go forth to
serve the lord but along the way they get entangled in the thorns and briars of life
if you get snagged in bramble bushes or prickly bushes or vines you'll get cut and scratched
and eventually lose your interest in your original mission if you find yourself snagged in thorns
you do the cutting cut yourself loose from them they're either going to cut you or you're going to cut
the vines. Amen. Praise God. That's a good word right there. Look, just because you get caught up in vines
doesn't mean you stay there. We've all been caught up in thorns and vines. Did you stay there?
Have you been there for the past 10 years? Are you saying, hey, bring me some food. I can't get out of the
vines. No, you cut them. You get out of them. Well, that's the way it is with life. We get caught up in
thorns and vines of life. You don't stay there. You cut them. You get yourself free as fast as you
can. The harvest the king is seeking is the harvest of his kingdom. He's not interested in
anybody else's harvest. I'm going to just break it to you. He's interested in his harvest.
When we identify as his disciples, he rightfully expects us to produce a harvest for him.
Our harvest depends on the extent that his word has in our lives. As we are conformed to the
image of Christ as our minds are renewed by the word we naturally influence the world into which he
sowed us for his pleasure can you imagine that jesus is doing things with you for his pleasure
to make him happy does he have a right to just be happy he has a right to be happy he has a right to be happy
we shouldn't make him sad we should be making him happy we should be pleasing to him
why else does a farmer or an orchardist expect to harvest because it pleases him there's no
other reason the harvest pleases him when he takes it to market and sells it
and it tastes great it produces a profit
here's the wonderful thing even though jesus is interested in his harvest
when you get interested in his harvest he will produce a harvest in your life too
amen because he loves you because he appreciates you because he sees you working
in his harvest field the harvest is great the fields are white under harvest but the laborers are
few when he sees a man or woman actively enthusiastically working in his harvest field
he rewards them yes he rewards them so don't think you have to give up everything to
to, and you'll never have anything because you joined the Lord's harvest team. No, he takes
care of his people. He pays people well. He's a great employer. He'll work you, but he'll also
reward you. Praise God. Because he's fair. All right, hey, let's stop there, Doc, and we'll pick
this up tomorrow. All right. We'll be dealing with parables all this week, and so be
sure to join us each and every day here on morning manna 8 a.m. Eastern time on faith and values
dot com and we'll be diving deeper and deeper into the parables if you've ever struggled with the
parables i guarantee you by the end of this week you're going to have such a freedom of
understanding in some of the most basic parables it's going to open up the word of god for you
it really really will so we want to encourage you be here every day god bless you and we'll see you
