Good morning, everybody. Welcome to Morning Manna. We are just delighted that you're here today with us to study the Word of God. We are in the 16th chapter of the book of Proverbs. And today, let's see, we're looking at verses 21 through 25. I'm going to pray, invite the Holy Spirit, and then Dr. Kirkhart's going to read the word. And there's some very valuable.
golden nuggets in these verses today.
Father, our dear Father in heaven,
Father, we thank you for this wonderful day.
We are alive and saved and in your family, in your kingdom,
because of your son, Jesus Christ.
Come Holy Spirit, take charge of this Bible study,
teach all of us the richest of your word, Father,
in the name of Jesus.
Amen. Welcome to the morning, Amanda. We're so privileged to have you join us today all around the world from as far away as Russia and Brazil and Malaysia and Australia and Japan and the Philippines and all across the U.S. and Canada, always a privilege to welcome you to our class today.
And we are all students, even the teachers, our students as well, because we have to be taught first before we can teach you.
And so we are gathered together as we learn under the ultimate teacher, Jesus himself.
And so we are in Proverbs chapter 16 today.
We're going to pick back up on verse 21.
And we're going to be reading verses 21 through 25.
So if you have your Bibles, I encourage you read along with me.
I'm reading from the King James today.
And we're going to encourage you to read the Word of God out loud no matter where you are right now.
and that way you can hear the word of God, both in your ear and in your heart today.
Verse 21 reads,
The wise and heart shall be called prudent and sweetness of the lips,
increase this learning.
Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that hath it,
but the instruction of fools is falling.
The heart of the wise teacheth his mouth and addeth learning to his lips.
verse 24 pleasant words are as a honeycomb sweet to the soul and health to the bones
verse 25 there is a way that seemeth right unto a man but the end thereof are the ways of death
god bless the reading of his word today praise god all right verse 21
the wise and heart shall be called prudent and the
sweetness of the lips increases learning the satuagin says the wise and heart shall be
called understanding and the sweetness of his lips shall increase instruction let's
begin with the first part the wise in heart this phrase connects wisdom to the
inner person the wise in heart
It doesn't say the wise in the brain, in the mind, in the intellect, the wise in heart.
It's telling us that wisdom and prudence begin in a transformed heart.
So the heart is the seat of your desires, your thoughts, your devotions.
It's what you are.
That's your heart.
That's at the core of who you are.
All right.
Wisdom there then directs your life.
Now, heart wisdom is God-given.
And the fear of the Lord renews the intermese.
so this this wisdom integrates knowledge character conduct under the guidance of the holy spirit
it's it's telling us that god searches hearts that he values inner wisdom this is wisdom
wisdom in the heart
contrasts with cleverness in the mind
they're not the same
a wise heart is not the same as a clever mind
knowledge puffs up a person
but heart wisdom humbles them
so the scripture
and other scriptures tell us to
guard the heart for out of it flow the issues of life we're reminded that our savior
christ is the source of all wisdom he is he is the true heart his inner life what he
what he showed us during his 33 years on earth he showed us how to be perfectly aligned with our
heavenly father there was no guile on him there is no deception he had a perfect heart
heart wisdom is relational heart wisdom loves god heart wisdom loves your neighbor
heart wisdom loves truth
because it brings about a transformation
the mind is renewed
but the wisdom
resides in the heart
we are
we are invited to see
that the heart
is
God's throne
he should be enthroned
in our hearts
if he's not
then he's not king
and when he is
enthroned in our hearts
wisdom reigns there
because wisdom
travels with the king
right
wherever the king goes
all of his attributes and his power and glory
it all travels with him so that's why we have to have
Christ enthroned in our hearts
so the wise heart is God's sanctuary
and wisdom dwells
where he rules
It says
The wise and heart shall be called prudent
Again the Septuagin says shall be called understanding
Shall be called
That's a divine appointment
God names
And people affirm
It's God who calls
shall be called who does the calling it's god who calls and says the wise and heart shall be called prudent
and then humans agree with god that's right we've we've discussed the meaning of prudent prudence
in previous chapters of the book of proverbs it means discerning
insightful, skillful, able to carefully navigate the complexities of life.
You can either be a bull in the China shop and just break up everything,
or you can be prudent and know how to gracefully move around difficult situations.
okay so prudence means good judgment thoughtful decision-making the ability to foresee consequences of decisions not yet made right when you're weighing decisions and you can look into the future and foresee the consequences of option one two or three that's prudence
that means wisdom is active inside you you're taking time to contemplate if i do this this may happen
what action do i take to produce the best results for the glory of god prudence is practical
it solves problems
it prevents pitfalls
it produces progress
it's very practical
prudence gets things done
so prudence is
the visible
fruit of
inward wisdom
prudence is what the world
sees
on the outside of a person
who has a wise heart
that people don't see the wise heart
they see prudence
that's the fruit that's the outer fruit
prudence
they say you know that guy
or that woman makes really wise
decisions
they see it as visible
it's God who calls
you
wise and heart
calls you prudent
the wise and heart
shall be called prudent
it's God who calls you prudent
it's a divine appointment
he declares you to be prudent
so
think of the wise heart as the fountain
and prudent
is the
that flows from it so there's a difference between true prudence which is flowing from a wise heart
and worldly shrewdness they're not the same because that flows from self-interest
A person who operates in just shrewdness is always operating from a position of what is best for me.
And they make decisions that turn out to be good for them.
But that's not wisdom.
That's shrewdness.
So it's telling us that the heart, a wise,
heart earns respect and that the calling is earned again it is being called prudent is god's branding
right it's god himself who is putting that label on that individual that's right and then
other people recognize it right because a wise heart
leaves a trail of sound decisions.
And you know, we live in an age of labels.
Even in the church, you know, you've got people that seek labels like apostle or prophet
or global apostle or something like that.
But you don't hear people seeking, oh, I'd like to have the label prudent, please.
then it doesn't impress anyone on a business card in their mind
that's a good point doc but god considers it a high honor
right would you rather be called apostle or prudent
i would rather have prudent wouldn't you yes
and both are titles from god and you can be a prudent you can be a prudent apostle
But you can also be a prudent layman, a member of the church.
Right.
But if I had to choose, I want God to label be prudent.
Yes.
That's right.
There's a lot more we could talk about, you know, the benefits of prudence.
Prudence deescalates.
tense situations with calm words and clear thinking and peaceful solutions.
All these things flow from a wise heart that operates in prudence.
The opposite is foolishness.
And the sweetness of the lips increases learning.
The subtergences and the sweetness of his lips shall increase instruction.
What this says is that gracious speech is a wisdom multiplier.
Yes.
This thought came to me last night as I was working on this lesson.
I just saw an image of Jesus at a counter, you know, and you just, you received your
package of wisdom.
Here's your wisdom.
And Jesus says, would you like that supersized?
That's what this means.
That's the image he gave me last night to understand this verse.
Would you like it supersized?
what supersized the wisdom i gave you wisdom but would you like it supersized oh yeah come on what do i
have to do sweet the sweetness of the lips that's what it says and the sweetness of the lips
increases learning that's so are you saying that wisdom has to guide not only our hearts but also
our mouths as well. Yes. And when you have sweet lips, God increase he, God, God increases
your learning without you doing anything other than having sweet lips. So by speaking sweetness,
I learn. God increases your learning. He multiplies. He multiplies.
it he supersizes it there's an incentive that to speak sweetly yes i mean if you want to approach it from
self-interest there is a there is an incentive to speak sweetly god himself will give you more learning
right you know i know you've shared i know you've shared several times direct about the
gentleman from your past that would say well I'm only telling you the truth and sometimes
that truth is delivered like a dagger sure like a like a knife and twisted in that's right
but truth can be delivered sweetly correct that's exactly it okay so sweetness of the lips
when you when you look at the ancient Hebrew words
this phrase sweetness of the lips
it means pleasant
gracious
winsome speech
so what is
I had to
look up winsome
what is winsome speech
that's a word that we don't use very often
it means
Winsome means
childlike charm
and innocence
truth in love
so this phrase
sweetness of the lips
means words that are
pleasant, gracious
pleasing
childlike, charming,
innocent
truthful
covered in love
sweetness of the lips
not those sharp daggers
not those sarcastic
replies
not those
demeaning words
sweet
these are sweet words
and when you speak
sweet words
God is pleased
and he supersizes
your wisdom
praise God
as a bonus
it's a bonus
you don't even realize
it's happening it's just a bonus
you open your bag
and hey there's two packs of french fries
in it you only got one
okay
he supersizes it for you
it's his blessing upon your life
increases learning
it means to add to enhance
to deepen your understanding
your understanding of life
your understanding of people
your understanding of God
your understanding of the kingdom
your understanding of yourself
he increases learning
how we speak
determines how others learn
so not only does it increase
our learning
but how we speak determines how others learn from us
harshness repels
sweetness
sweetness draws
okay
what draws
what draws insects
vinegar or
or sugar water
okay the sugar water
okay the sweetness
sweet speech can only come from a sweetheart it's just that simple sweet speech originates from a sweetheart
a wise heart speaks with gracious lips if you're sharp tongue and abusive
If you're a name caller, you're a mocker, a reviler, you do not have sweet lips and you don't have a sweetheart.
By the way, Docs, I don't know when I'll do it, but I need to do a study one day on the word reviler.
That is not pawed in the church.
That'd be a great name for a book, a novel.
Reveiler.
Well, it's one of the titles that will get you sent to hell.
Revilers will not inherit the kingdom.
According to Paul, I'll just go with his words.
But revilers.
A reviler is.
a verbal abuser I'm not going to go off in that because the whole study but we need to we
need to have a study on that on that word reviler because there's too many people in
churches getting away with that sin because nobody is is calling them out for what
they're doing um you can name off all the other sins that'll get you sent to hell
but nobody talks about being sharp tongue being nasty a reviler a mocker a scorner
okay so sweetness is the opposite of bitterness
Sweet words, open hearts.
Harsh words, close ears.
If you want people to not listen to you, speak harshly.
Our words have to be seasoned with grace.
Just think of like a salt shaker.
You know, with seasoning in it, grace, pass the grace shaker, please.
Before that word comes out of your mouth, sprinkle your tongue with that grace seasoning.
All of us, we've got to work on this one.
All of us, okay?
Sarcasm, gossip, slander, bitterness.
meanness cruelty sharp dagger words they've got to be banished from our mouths and our hearts
the only reason they come out of our mouth is because they're in our heart
they've got to be banished you've got to make this the highest priority that you're going to
to banish thoughts
attitudes that are in your heart that produce words
that are not sweet
the Lord spoke sweet
even when he rebuked the Pharisees
he didn't do it with meanness
yeah
so you just can't imagine Jesus doing that can you know being mean
so sweet lips increases your learning and it increases the learning of others who hear you
it's twofold
God blesses you
by increasing your learning
but others are blessed
by listening to your sweet words
because
sweetness teaches more
than
finger pointing
when you see somebody wagging their finger in your face
those are not sweet words that are going to come out of that person's mouth
and by the way here's a little body language
nugget that everyone can use whenever someone is pointing a finger
that is a weapon
okay it'd be the same as if they're holding a stick in their hand
a club in their hand and threatening you with it that's
It's that, that's the metaphor for having a weapon in your hand.
When they're pointing a finger at you like this,
in body language talk.
And so that's an escalation there.
Whenever you see someone making a point or an argument using a finger,
it's as if they had a club in their hand.
That's interesting.
It's a sign of aggression.
Yes.
They're coming at you.
but if you if you do this you could say to the same words this way or this way if you say it
this way it's implying that it's coming from your heart and it takes on a totally different
meaning and it's important to keep these things in mind because sometimes people deliver
words what they call words of wisdom but actually they're delivering it with a well
weapon in their hand.
Yeah, I remember, too, you know, when the proverb was written, you're talking about
95% of the population was illiterate.
They couldn't read.
We're talking 95%.
We take it for granted.
It's the other way today.
If someone can't read, it's like, what?
But back then, if you could read, it's like, wow, you know, you can read.
And so that when you talk about that speech in this particular verse here, it had a lot more weight with it then than it does culturally with us now.
That sweetness of the lips.
In other words, information was conveyed not through TV, not through radio, not through print, not through books, but orally.
Stories were told orally.
scriptures were delivered orally and so it takes on a whole new depth of meaning here in the power of the sweetness of lips
and how much of our priority god makes on that and so it really is a compelling verse here
like i know i've mentioned this a couple uh various times um in our class but there was a couple in my uh
early Christian walk when I was in my 20s.
Art and Betty Williams of Myersville, Maryland.
They had a farm in Myersville and Art owned a business,
a restaurant equipment supplier.
Doc, they were the sweetest couple you'd ever meet.
I mean, just both of them.
both of them just oozed
they just oozed with sweetness
but
the gifts of the spirit operated in them
and
art could take you aside
and
just read your mail
and do it with the greatest love and kindness
you know
you just take you aside and say
the Lord told me this
oh boy here we go
but he would do with such love
never any meanness
never any religious cruelty
was always
the Lord loves you
yeah
they were just a kind
this couple okay one time i i like to work on uh i i would work on uh arts farm on saturdays
just for the just for the opportunity to be with him that's the only reason i'd i'd offer to help
him you know with uh whatever chores he had around the farm the farm
okay and you know I was I was in my 20s he was I guess in his I'm going to say late 50s early 60s at that time you know and so one time he asked me he asked me to trim some trees gave me his chainsaw so I got the ladder and I'm they're cutting branches I got chainsaw on my right hand
And I'm cutting branches, okay?
And the chainsaw muffler fell off.
And I did the most stupid thing.
Actually, when I did it, I was, yeah.
You grabbed it, didn't you?
I grabbed it with my left hand.
And actually, Doc, at the moment, I was pretty proud of myself
because if I was playing baseball, it was a great catch.
I mean, it was awesome.
and muffler fell
I'm holding the chainsaw up
as high as I can hold it
you know the muffler fell out
and I grabbed it with my left hand
I like hey
look at that
and then all of a sudden I realized
my hands on fire
it's that half a second
where it takes the signal
to reach your brain
it was such a reflex
to grab that
muffler you know and that thing was red hot and then i then i dropped it you know and and i came down
off the ladder and i i opened up my hand and i just had i had big blisters on every finger my thumb
and in the palm of my hand i mean it was bad that hurts just thinking about it oh man it was
throbbing my hand was throbbing and art said okay let's go in the house um
Betty will have some salve, you know, and he says, let's get some cold water on and we'll get some salve.
And so, you know, I went in and I washed my hands in cold water.
But Betty took my hand.
Doc, I will never forget this moment.
Betty took my hand and she gently laid her hand on my hand and asked the Lord to heal my hand.
And when she lifted my hand, there were no blisters.
I will never forget it.
I will never forget that moment.
And Art said, well, let's get back to work.
What's purpose of being healed?
Yeah, yeah.
Not to take a vacation.
Let's get back to work.
That's right.
Let's get back out there and don't catch any more mufflers.
Okay.
But I'm telling that story because they had such sweetness.
They're just gentle people.
Good kind people.
So, I want to move on here.
So Matthew Henry said,
The wise and heart shall be called prudent.
Sweet lips makes teaching effective.
Okay.
Adam Clark,
Heart wisdom earns a prudent title, sweet lips,
increased learning in others.
G. Campbell Morgan, wise heart.
prudent reputation sweet speech wisdom's full expression wise heart prudent reputation sweet speech
wisdom's full expression charles spurgeon sweetness of speech is the sugar that helps the
medicine of truth go down now all of the commentators put the emphasis on the increased learning
in others but i felt last night doc that the lord was saying this is twofold sure that he he increases
learning in you so i i'm i'm going to view this this promise as a blessing to the person with sweet
lips and the person who hears a gentle heart.
Verse 22, understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that hath it, but the instruction
of fools is folly.
Septuagint understanding is a fountain of life to them that have it, but the instruction
of fools is evil.
understanding meaning to discern truth to apply wisdom to see beneath the surface to discern
a lot of people have very superficial thinking very superficial surface level they never
see beneath the surface
understanding gives you that ability to see
deeper
why is that person behaving that way
why is that person thinking that way
why did this happen
that comes from understanding
wellspring
understanding is a well spring
of life that's a bubbling
spring
it's continuous
it's life-giving
it's refreshing
it's not stagnant
it's bubbling
it's a wellspring
coming up out of the ground
so it's telling us
that godly
understanding
nourishes your soul
it
provides
water in a drought
yes
So God is the source.
His understanding flows through into and through and out of the heart of the humble seeker of wisdom.
Wellspring is not a cistern.
cisterns leak
cisterns get dirty have to be cleaned
that's right
they're to store water
whereas the wellspring is producing
constantly new water
yes fresh water
has been purified
underground through the rocks
through the set of it's it's clean as it comes out
it's pure
a cistern holds
water
and it becomes contaminated. It gets dirty. It has cracks in the cistern.
Understanding prevents death.
Spiritual death.
Who is our wellspring? It's Jesus Christ.
He, what did he? He is the living water.
made his own words
he is the living water
he is the wellspring
and so
when he is flowing through our hearts
our lives are bubbling
all the time
it's another
another study
living water.
Okay.
Who's the source of the living water?
I mean, out of
your belly should flow
living water.
Okay. Christ is the living water.
Yeah.
You know, right now I'm doing a study on
Ezekiel in the morning's
devotional.
daily devotional and Ezekiel goes into detail about that living water so when
Jesus makes a reference to living water he is referring back to the prophecies of
Ezekiel about the living water that cut it Ezekiel says the living water is
coming from the temple yes okay uh the speaking 47
the living water comes from us too so it's a fascinating
study and so I would encourage folks to you know look more into it but Jesus
spoke about that living water and he's referring to that that water that
fountain of life that wisdom that flows forever to for you as a believer and that
wisdom is that fountain of life and you can claim your that as your possession
right now think of that wellspring as
I like that.
It waters your soul for the purpose of bearing fruit.
The upright man or woman is like a tree planted by rivers, by a river.
Its leaves do not wither.
It produces fruit even in drought.
in drought that's the message here this wellspring is christ living inside of us irrigating our
soul watering our soul so that we produce fruit and that fruit needs to come out of our mouth
with sweet words all of us today we need to make it our our purpose to only see
speak sweet words today.
Just get through one day.
Get through one day
speaking sweet
words.
If you can do one day, you can do a second day.
And then you can do a third day.
And
in time, you'll have a habit.
Unto him
that have it,
or to one who has it,
to them that have it, various translations.
So what this says is that this blessing is limited to those who possess understanding.
Right.
Divine heavenly understanding must be received, retained, and used.
And possessed.
Yes.
I think that's where the shortcoming lies there, Rick, is that we don't take possession of it.
We don't say, wisdom belongs to me.
Wisdom is my possession.
As if wisdom is a commodity, on the one hand, it's a commodity I go out and get, but on the other
hand, it's a possession that belongs to you.
Yes.
you possess it so the gift originates from god the gift of wisdom the gift of understanding the gift
of prudence these are gifts from god we we don't originate them correct their gifts
our responsibility is to receive them to retain them and to use them
That's not God's responsibility.
That's our responsibility.
He gives us the gifts.
What are you going to do with it?
You have to receive it.
You have to keep it, retain it, and then you have to use it on a regular basis.
Now, once again, you've got to think of the context of this verse, too.
The setting of this verse.
Middle East tends to be dry, tends to be arid, tends to be,
sometimes, you know, a little bit rough that we would consider, you know, for us that live
in more temperate climates and everything, with some exceptions, of course.
But how important a spring was, how important a fountain of life was, a fountain of water
was in a dry, arid land, how refreshing it was, and how important it was.
cities were built around fountains.
You know, you had water coming out of the ground.
And so people said, why don't we just live here?
And how important it was to sustain life.
And so having that phrase, the fountain of life,
a spring or a fountain in, you know,
in a desert area, in an arid area,
can mean the difference between life and death for an entire community.
Yes.
And so when there's no spiritual water for a family or a community or a nation,
then there's only drought.
Desert conditions.
Doc, in previous chapters, in the earlier chapters of Proverbs,
We talked about the wise.
We talked about the simple-minded,
and we talked about fools.
There are three different groups of people.
The simple-minded are not the same as the fools.
So you get fools, simple-minded, and wise.
Look at the difference of how they react to wisdom.
The fool rejects it.
The simpleton ignores it.
And the wise embrace it.
The simpleton doesn't see any value in it.
It's not a rejection.
They just don't see any value in it.
But the fool actively rejects it.
The wise actively rejects it.
embraces wisdom
and keeps it, retains it,
guards it as a treasure.
The wise understand
that wisdom is a treasure.
And so they guard it, they cultivate it.
And they share it.
They don't keep it for themselves.
They tell others about it.
But the possession
is active.
It's not like you lock it up in a safe one-time action.
All right, I've got this treasure.
I'm going to lock it up in a safe and that's it.
No, in this case, possession is ongoing.
Right.
Through the study of the word, through prayer, through obedience, through worship,
through receiving
godly counsel
that's the active possession
of wisdom and understanding
so it says
he or she that has it
right so there's a contrast
with those who don't have it
those who don't have it
are empty souls who wander
but those who have it are full souls filled with wisdom and they thrive they flourish
we have to discern the difference between understanding and information do you have information or do you have
understanding.
You know, we get this with all the news
podcast. A lot of people who've got information, they don't
understand it. These have information.
This gathering more and more and more information. But they really don't have
any understanding. If they had understanding
right now, they'd understand that we're just a few years away
from nuclear war
if you had understanding
you change your life
if you truly understood
what's going on in the world right now
if you if you had
understanding
you would
recognize that the global economy
is teetering on collapse
and a new
financial system is going to emerge
after the collapse
that's understanding
and
a person with understanding
would be taking steps to prepare for it
that's a
wise person
but a simpleton just goes on their way
so
understanding
possessing understanding but not
using it is wasteful that's just hoarding and it eventually you know it'll gather rust it'll leave you
it is to be used possession is progressive you seek it the more you seek it the more the more that is given to you
the less you seek it the less you use it the less that is kept so our part is that we're not
the the originators of wisdom and understanding and prudence but we have to actively keep it
and use it for our own benefit for the benefit of others and for the glory of god
But the instruction of fools is folly.
I'll tell you another reason I just got out of the whole news business
because I was just tired of listening to fools.
Oh, boy.
Isn't that the truth?
The podcast world is filled with fools.
Oh, my goodness.
People who don't take any time to gather information,
to verify their sources, you know, it's so frustrating.
It's worse than that.
They have no knowledge of God.
Yeah.
They have no knowledge of the Word of God.
Although throw God's name out, we'll give a shout out to God.
Yeah, the Lord of Savior.
The man upstairs.
Yeah, the man, you know, they'll do that kind of stuff.
I want to do a shout out to the big little man upstairs.
I hear the stuff in these podcasts.
It's like, you guys are fools.
Why would I listen?
Why would I spend two or three hours listening to a fool?
And yet people do.
All day long.
And what's their instruction?
What's the instruction of fools?
Foolishness.
You tell them this first.
Foolishness.
That's right.
So the instruction of fools.
Yeah.
The instruction of fools is folly.
The World English Bible says the punishment of fools is their folly.
Yes.
I like that.
So folly will instruct you in lying and being proud and taking shortcuts.
the opposite of everything that is being taught in the book of
proverbs that's what fools teach
right
fools teach fools
and they breed
it's contagious
it is
they produce more fools
that's why you should just
I'm telling you cut off a
lot of these podcasters they're filling your head and your heart with things that are
contrary to what you are studying in the word of god yes especially when you hear their
vulgar language right so we are we're challenged to reject
foolish teaching that test everybody's instructions by the Word of God.
I'm not saying that you never watch a news show or listen, but you have to be discerning.
Is what this person is saying, is it in alignment with the Word of God, or is it contrary to the Word of God?
there's a lot of people out there that have good information i seek information right
but i i don't seek their lack of spirituality right it's like the old saying eat the corn
throw out the cob yes you don't eat the whole cob the people trying to swallow the whole
call.
Absolutely.
A fool's instruction
is death's curriculum.
Amen.
Why would you enroll in a class
taught by a fool?
When the end is death
and destruction.
Matthew Henry said,
Understanding is a wellspring of life to him that has it,
refreshing, perpetual, and abundant.
John Gill said, understanding is a fountain of life to him that has it.
Spiritual, eternal life flows from it, but the instruction of fools is folly.
Their correction is foolish, leading to ruin.
Alexander McLaren
Understanding is the spring of true life, clear, deep, perpetual.
A fool's instruction is folly, a mockery of wisdom, a path to ruin.
A wise drink from the fountain.
Fools dig broken wells.
G. Campbell Morgan said life to the understanding.
death to the full
God's clear division
life to the understanding
death to the full
God's clear division
do we have time for
we're getting behind here
we're pretty close to the one hour
mark right now
so yeah let's let's
stop and then we'll pick this up tomorrow
verse 23 all right let's do that so well we appreciate you being here with us today for this
edition of morning man i hope you gained uh some great wisdom out of this and i probably the biggest
thing take away for me is uh you know boy each and every word that we speak you know the bible
says we're going to give account for every word that we speak or let it be sweet let it be sweet
I have to really watch myself, Rick.
I have a tendency at times to be sarcastic in my speech.
And, you know, I need that sweetness.
I really do.
And so right now, the Holy Spirit is convicting me.
I'm on my own speech.
That's all of us today.
That's all of us agree.
We're going to speak sweet words today.
You know what's going to happen?
Some ugly person.
We're a big challenge.
in some way.
A ugly, nasty person is going to come your way.
I'm going to meet that woman on the elevator again.
She's going to be back.
She forgot something.
She had to come back and get it.
She moved away.
But no, let's do our best.
All right.
And know that there is a, there's a blessing from heaven.
He increases our understanding, our learning.
and that he makes us more effective to teach his word to others.
All right, that's it for me.
We'll be back here tomorrow.
All right.
Tomorrow is Wednesday, and we invite you to be here with us once again.

where we share this content. Lots of exciting things are happening over the next few weeks with the
ministry and we're going to be sharing a little bit more each week as we progress. And so you're
going to be very happy with some of the things that are happening. And so we're very excited about
what the Lord is getting ready to do in this ministry. He is blessing us in ways that we never
imagined before. And we've been patiently waiting for that blessing and the days have arrived.
So continue to pray for us, pray for the Holy Spirit to lead us and guide us and bring us into
the right conversations and the right appointments with those that we need to speak with
in order to accomplish everything he's called us to do. Any final thoughts, Rick, before we
bid a do for today? Well, a reminder of something we talked about weeks ago. So the Lord is for us,
this ministry for me and Doc and others, he is stretching us.
He is stretching us.
But the purpose of stretching is to strengthen.
That's the reason you stretch something.
You're strengthening it.
Yes.
So we are being stretched, but he's doing it to strengthen us.
And the same process takes place in your life.
That's your last nugget for the day.
See you tomorrow.
God bless you. We'll see you on the next morning man.
