God bless you.
Thank you for joining us today.
You, along with about 300 other people, have made an effort to be here today and to be fed the Word of God.
Get the Word of Faith in your mouth.
And that's what we're going to be talking about today, the Word of Faith.
Roman chapter 10 verses 8 through 10. I'll begin reading from the King James. But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart. That is the word of faith, which we preach. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shall believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Verse 10, for with the heart, man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth,
Confession is made unto salvation.
God bless the reading of his word today.
Amen.
Verse eight, but what say it it?
The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth and in thy heart.
That is the word of faith which we preach.
The Aramaic Peshita translation says,
but what does it say the word is near you even in your mouth and in your heart that is the word
of faith which we preach Paul Apostle Paul personifies the righteousness of faith that's what he's
talking about here in chapter 10 the righteousness of any and he and he
He personifies the righteousness of faith as speaking directly.
He's indicating that the gospel is God's own voice,
not a human invention.
This question, what sayeth it?
The it is the word, the word of faith.
What sayeth it?
what does it say that's how we would say it today what does it say he's elevating scripture above human reasoning
he's saying god has the final word on salvation men and women can debate it they can theorize about it they can
about it, whatever that is, you know, they can, they can just talk about what they think
salvation is, if they even believe that there's salvation. But in the end, it doesn't matter.
God has the final word. Right. And this is, this isn't a new concept that Paul is bringing out here.
He's quoting Deuteronomy chapter 30, word for word here in this verse. Deuteronomy 30,
says the word is very near you in your mouth and in your heart that you may do it according to the
Septuagint so this faith has always been a component of salvation both in the old testament and
the new testament so it's not a new concept at all precisely he's not introducing something new
he's he's telling the people this is what god has always been saying to you this question
And what saith it?
What does it say?
He's contrasting it with, what does philosophy say?
What does tradition say?
It doesn't matter.
The only thing that matters is what God's word says.
He's saying to humankind, stop reasoning.
Stop debating.
Stop arguing among yourselves.
Listen to God's word.
The only thing that matters is God's word on this issue of salvation.
He's also saying to us that God's answer on this question, what does it say?
The answer has already been given.
Correct.
Salvation is not hidden.
It's not distant.
no matter what that midler sings you know god's not far away right he's watching us from a distance
no he's not he's he's up close and personal oh he's very up close it's also telling us to let
scriptures speak have the first and the last word
Yes.
In everything, let the scripture speak first and last.
It's also teaching us that spiritual revelation is verbal.
God speaks, we listen.
As Doc mentioned, the gospel is not a new invention,
but it is the fulfillment of Moses's promises.
to Israel.
As I quoted Deuteronomy.
Jesus Christ is the spoken word.
He is the it.
Right.
This question, what saith it?
You could also say what sayeth he?
because he is the word
they're one and the same
what saith it
God stoops
to speak
we bow to listen
we're not to tell God
our opinion of salvation
we are to accept his definition
his voice is sovereign
ignoring this question
and its obvious answer
will lead to deception
because we'll wander into
human reasoning
human philosophies
it's accept the word
believe the word accept it which requires faith which is the topic that we're studying here today
the what sayeth it settles controversy scripture interprets scripture the bible answers
the bible asks questions and then answers its own questions
Paul does it all the time in his letters.
Paul asks questions and then he answers the questions.
The word is nigh thee,
nigh meaning near.
The word is near you.
Close at hand.
Within reach.
Salvation is not far away.
It's here.
That's the message.
Salvation is not some nebulous, far distant, wispy concept.
No, it's here.
It's close at hand.
The word is, salvation is not in heaven.
It's not in the atmosphere.
It's here.
it's close to you this is what god is saying to every man and woman the salvation that i offer
you is near you you don't have to go searching for it you don't have to become a monk and
live in a mountaintop monastery you don't have to do any kind of religious ritual though salvation is
near you. The word is near you. The gospel, the good news, the good news of Jesus Christ,
the Messiah is near. It's not distant, not hidden. We don't have to spend years searching
for the answer to salvation. It's near, it's accessible, it's reachable. We don't have to
chase after mystical visions or remote voices.
Right.
The word, the word is already spoken.
It's waiting to be believed.
I quoted to Deuteronomy 30, verse 14,
the word is very, very nigh.
It's really close to you.
in thy mouth and in thy heart that thou may doest it and for me that just says that
i don't have to go to the highest heights to find god i don't have to go to the lowest lows to
find him either his word brings god near brings him close it's his word that transcends the
distance between me and God. His word is what does it. His word is a closes the gap if you will
between me and God. Yes, Doctor, the word is the word that saves us is not the religious invention of
humans. Right. It's it's God's revelation. It's already brought near
to us through his son, Jesus Christ.
It's so frustrating.
I feel, I want to say frustrating.
To me, it's sad.
I meet good people.
I just met some the other day, Doc.
It was a father and son.
and they were
he was a good
a good
these two men were good
they had good hearts
all right
but listening to them talk
I knew that they were
into new age
they actually
mentioned Jesus
but not as a Savior
but more as a
a pioneer in new age
you know he
you know
he was on the advanced team
I think why
you spend all this time
searching truth
and that's if you listen to them
they were truth seekers
that's really what was
motivated oh we're you know
they were digging into conspiracies
they were digging into corruption
they were looking for truth
they were exposing evil
and yet
the solution the answer is 90 the truth the salvation is near them and they couldn't see him
it's sad
god brings salvation to us
christ came down
the word became flesh the word dwelt among us
God brought salvation to us in the personification of his son Jesus Christ
who had to die for our sins and be buried and resurrected in our faith,
our belief in his atonement and his resurrection is what saves us.
we're not to keep seeking we are to receive what has already been offered we don't have to climb mountains
we don't have to join spiritual religious cults we just receive and believe what God has
already provided. That's what Paul is teaching us here. He's saying, I can save you a lot of time and
trouble and effort. What saith it? The word is nigh thee, near thee, even in your mouth and in your
heart. In your mouth, in your heart. It's, it's described. It's described.
describing the two instruments of faith's expression.
Inward belief in outward confession.
Salvation is internal and external.
Internal. The heart believes. External. The mouth confesses.
In thy mouth means confession, speaking, public declaration of faith.
In thy heart, inner belief, inner conviction, inner trust.
It's the root of faith.
The faith has to be in your heart, and it has to come out of your mouth.
These two work together.
faith for the god kind of faith has got to be in your heart and come out of your mouth
actually you know the location is is astonishing god's word is not distant it's dwelling
it in you it's it's in us this grace is indwelling the word written on our hearts
that's what jeremiah promise chapter 31 now think about this the mouth and heart contrast with
the hand and foot the hand and foot
represents religious works okay this is doing things by works your hands your feet you do things with your hands and your feet
but faith is not in our hands and our feet faith is in our hearts and our mouth
so faith is not by works salvation is not by works
but faith requires action i think this question what saith it i think it challenges every one of us we have to ask
ourselves this question is the word of god in my heart and does it come out of my mouth
for all of us is the word in my heart and if it is in my heart does it ever come out of my
mouth because this these verses are telling us the two work together heart faith faith is
heart believe and mouth confession you can't have it can't be
mouth without heart or heart without confession right you just can't separate the two that's right
we there's there is a this mouth heart unity combination it's a combo it's a combination
god designed it this way mouth and heart it's his design we believe we speak we're saved
You can't have salvation without this combination, mouth and heart.
Doc, it's this mouth-heart. It's this mouth-heart combination. It's really an altar.
we we offer faith to god and we receive salvation from him it identifies the word as the gospel
message of faith preached by the apostles it's simple it's near and it's powerful
refer to the gospel as the word of faith.
I think it's because faith is both its content and its effect.
It's telling us that our faith is not based on speculation, but proclamation.
we we hear of the finished work of Christ we believe it and then we share it verbally
right here's the amazing thing about the word of God the word of faith it has inside of it
the power to produce what it proclaims yes faith produces faith
Yes. When God says his word does not return void, doesn't return empty. His word is a seed. Inside every word is life. And when God speaks a word, it produces. It produces a harvest for him. When we speak God's word, it is working. It's producing a harvest for him.
even though we can't see it we don't always see the effects of the word of God that we speak to other people
we don't have to we just do it that's our that's our instruction speak his word
I mean all of us we have people in our lives we think I've been praying for him I've been sharing the faith with her for a long time there's no
change. Hey, you don't know that. You don't know what the word is doing inside that person.
Just turn it over to the Lord is not our responsibility to save anybody.
Our responsibility is to speak the word of faith.
Charles Simeon, Anglican, I think he was a bishop.
He said, the word of faith is not merely a doctrine to be studied, but a message to be believed and spoken.
Albert Barnes, Presbyterian, said, faith comes by hearing this word, and the same word, once believed, seeks to be confessed.
Alexander McLaren Baptist, the nearness of the nearness of the nearest of them.
the word demands utterance
yes
truth believed
must become
truth declared
the word
of faith
the message that is believed
and confessed unto
salvation
also the word
of faith which we preach
what is this message that
he preached
Christ died
was buried
risen
that's the gospel message
that when you believe
in Jesus Christ
you shall be saved
the word is simple
no works
no merit
no religious
rituals
just believe
and speak right and it's not far off it's not a journey you have to take it's not
you know some sort of big trial rather the gospel is brought near to everyone everyone
and that means that no one has an excuse therefore no one that's right see it eliminates the
excuse on judgment day nobody can say well i didn't know where to find this salvation
God's going to say, no, the word was brought near.
It was near you.
The whole time you lived on earth, the word was near you.
That's the message here, that God has brought salvation near every human being.
But the gospel, a gospel that's not preached is a gospel that's not near.
This is the heart of the reason that we have to support churches and ministries that are preaching the gospel.
The gospel must be heard in all the world.
Then the end shall come.
So men and women who are called by God to preach this word, they're driven.
They can't turn it off.
They're driven.
They've got to do it.
And yet they're dependent on men and women to support them to do what God has called them to do.
That's why each one of us has a responsibility to pray for ministries, financially support ministries, because the gospel must be preached.
It must be heard.
it must be taken near every person matthew henry said the word is nigh thee god has made salvation easy
it is not in heaven or beyond the sea but in thy mouth and in thy heart
baptist john gill said it is the word which we preach christ crucified believed on for righteousness
ascend or descend. The word of faith is near, offered freely.
Albert Barnes, Presbyterian, said, salvation is brought to the door of the heart.
Yes, it's delivered right to your front door. There it is. Just God has brought a package to
your door. Alexander McLaren, the word is nithy. Salvation is not a distant quest.
but a present offer.
G. Campbell Morgan,
salvation is as near as the word spoken.
Charles Spurgeon,
no need to fetch Christ from above.
He is near thee in his word.
William are not,
Free Church of Scotland.
God has made the way easy.
believe and live
verse nine
that if thou
shall confess with thy mouth
the Lord Jesus Christ
and shall believe in thy heart
that God hath raised him from the dead
thou shall be saved
confession
if thou shall confess
there's that word again yes and mouth confess with your mouth not a silent confession a verbal confession
to confess the word confession means to say the same thing well
what are you saying what's the same thing that you're saying you're you are agreeing with
god's truth you're publicly declaring your agreement with god's truth that is a confession
that is your statement of faith i am in agreement with the word of god so we're being told
if you will confess with your mouth our Lord Jesus Christ
and will believe in your heart
that God has raised him from the dead,
you shall be saved.
How many of you were told when you got saved
that it was mandatory for you to publicly confess Christ?
Doc, how my
Oh, my, I think about
how many church services I've been in,
how many religious TV shows I've watched
where the minister said,
now everybody bow their heads and close your eyes.
No one looking around.
Nobody looking around.
Now, whoever wants to,
to be saved, lift your hand.
Nobody's looking.
Nobody's looking.
What confession is that?
There's no confession.
It ought to be, if you believe this, stand up and say amen.
I believe it.
See, even in our church services, we're inviting people into salvation in a way.
that's opposite the word of God.
Or are those people even saved?
I don't know.
That's something only God knows.
I mean, if you're ashamed to confess Christ in a church service,
why are you going to confess him out in the world?
If you're embarrassed to stand up in a church
and say, I believe in Jesus Christ,
what hope is there that you're going to say it in the workplace we're making salvation too cheap
it's easy but it's not cheap it's easy the word is nithy it's at your door delivered to your door
but you still have to publicly confess that you are in agreement with you
the word of God.
Faith can't remain silent.
It must echo what the heart believes.
The heart must believe what God said.
That's the catechism.
God speaks it.
The heart believes it.
The mouth echoes it.
That's catechism.
Catechism means to echo.
We are to echo what God said.
not echo what we think God said
because that's what Eve did
that's the essence of Eve's sin
she said what she thinks God said
and she got it wrong
we echo what God said
we speak it we publicly confess it
public confession
is an outward sign of inward conviction.
It's a declaration of allegiance and surrender and submission.
Your mouth becomes an altar of faith.
Confession is its sacrifice of praise.
It's a pleasing aroma to God.
faith that does not confess will eventually wither because silence will suffocate belief
if you're silent long enough you will you will suffocate the faith that you had when you
were a new Christian.
What I have witnessed in my years as a Christian
has been a coordinated campaign by Satan
and his minions in the world to silence Christians.
Right.
it started with something as simple as you can't say Merry Christmas.
Okay, it seems minor.
But when stores and retailers and employers started telling their employees,
do not say Merry Christmas.
Right.
They were telling people, do not confess the birth of Christ.
And Christians started people,
participating in it even though we're because we're tolerant we're tolerant you can't sing
christmas hymns in schools because you might offend somebody and the christians went along with it
you can't say public prayers that might offend somebody and the christians went along with it
see they they were being conditioned not to confess christ in public now do you understand
the ramifications of all of these court decisions over 50 60 years in america take down the crosses
remove the bibles stop praying in public stop reading scripture verses
in public schools. Stop saying the Lord's prayer in public schools. Why? You're confessing Christ.
You have to stop confessing Christ. That's what the world was saying. And the Christians went
along with it. Well, it's what the court said. Who cares? You better do what the judge says.
Yes, the court of heaven.
but the faith that justifies cannot be dumb it must speak what it believes
charles spurgeon said confession is the faith turned outward if you have fire within
it will find a vent g campbell morgan said to confess christ is to give voice to the inward
miracle of grace so that if thou shall confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus Christ okay confess with
your mouth open public verbal declaration not a silent belief but spoken allegiance you take your
stand you confess to an unbelieving world I believe in
Jesus Christ it's an audible confession not a silent confession it's audible
you know in paul's day in rome you had to confess Caesar is Lord refusing to say it
and saying jesus is lord could cost you your life that's what the christians faced in those days
there's a there's a price with confession christ confessed us christ confessed us before the father
therefore we must confess him before men and what did jesus say
if we refuse to confess him before men and women,
he will not confess us before the Father.
Again, we get back to these silent salvation moments.
Right.
Close your eyes, raise your hand.
Don't look around.
Don't look around.
Don't want to see anyone else making a confession of faith.
Yeah.
Well, the Lord warned us, if you're not willing to publicly confess me,
I'm not going to confess you to my father.
I mean, he has every right to say it.
If you're embarrassed by him, he's embarrassed by you.
So, look, I confess creeds, okay?
I believe the ancient church creeds are good.
But my faith is not in the creed.
My faith is in the Christ that's in the creed.
I think some people get some anti-creed Christians get the misconception.
and well you're putting your faith in a creed you think that creed saving no no no no no the creed is
a verbal confession of what i believe about christ right it's not the creed that saves but the fact that
you believe and confess it that's what saves yes and so the reason i speak creeds is because it's a
verbal confession of faith in Christ.
I mean, look at the Apostles' Creed.
That's a confession.
That's why I think it's a beautiful thing,
especially the old traditional churches.
They start every Sunday morning service out by confessing the
Apostles' Creed.
What are they doing with their congregation?
We're all going to stand, and we're going to verbally confess Christ.
Why is that wrong?
Why do people get upset about that?
That's a good thing.
And everybody's in unity.
One person is not confessing, well, this is what I believe about Christ, and the other person in this people saying, this is what I believe about Christ.
No, they're all confessing the same thing in unity.
So the Apostles' Creed is good, the Nicene Creed is good.
Nicene Creed is good.
John Gill said, the heart that believes is made righteous, not by its acts, but by the object it grasped, the risen Christ.
What does it mean to believe in Thy
heart to trust to rely to be convinced to surrender to so the heart is the birthplace of faith faith is not
born in your head it has to be born in your heart it's in he doesn't say in your head and you're
mouth confesses.
It's in your heart,
the seat of your being.
The place of your soul,
your emotions, your, everything
that's you.
That's your heart.
It's not the intellectual
part of us, our minds.
We believe in our heart.
It's not if you think in your head,
and confess with your mouth.
No, you believe in your heart.
What is belief?
It's a thought, a thought in your head that's energized with emotion.
Right.
It becomes belief.
There are things in my head that pass through.
I don't believe.
There's thoughts.
but when I connect emotion to a thought
it becomes belief
positive or negative
belief is neutral
it can be positive
it can be negative
it can be godly it can be ungodly
it's what you have put emotion to
that becomes belief
that God hath raised him from the dead
it was God who raised his son from the dead a divine act
it's the father's seal on his son's work on earth
the resurrection is the core of the gospel
without it
it's just empty preaching
what are we believing
without resurrection
when you believe in resurrection
you believe in the entire package
forgiveness
of sins,
atonement
victory over death
eternal life
it's all in resurrection
and so we
are confessing
we are confessing
that we believe that God
raised Christ from the dead
there are churches
I don't even know how they call themselves
churches
that
that don't believe
believe in the resurrection right but what do you believe in what hope are you offering me
without without the resurrection there is no hope for eternal life and that's what we're
confessing that we believe that God raised his son from the dead and that his son is alive now.
That his son is seated on the right hand of the father this very moment making intercession for you and me.
That's what I believe. And I believe that he's coming back in glory for his church. I believe that
on the last day I will be raised from the dead
that's what I believe
and because you believe it
you shall be saved
you shall be saved
if you believe in your heart and you confess with your mouth
that Jesus Christ was raised from the dead
you shall be saved
there is the guarantee
that's the stamp done seal you got it there it is it's a promise you can take this to the court
on judgment day i did what you said almighty god i did what you said
i believed in my heart i confessed with my mouth that jesus christ was raised from the dead
you said I would be saved and father's going to say you're right that's exactly what I said
okay you're saved you're in next is it that simple yes yes salvation is near you the word is near you
it's at your door it doesn't require
you to be to prove to God that you're good because we're not good and we can't become good
but we can be forgiven and we can allow Christ to live in us and we can believe that Christ living in us
that Christ living in us will justify us
that on the day of judgment
we will not be held accountable for the sins that we committed on this earth
and we will be forgiven we are forgiven now we will be forgiven then
it's faith and it's all embodied in this one name Jesus Christ
Amen
Matthew Henry said
If thou shall confess with thy mouth
The Lord Jesus Christ
And believe in thine heart
That God has raised him from the dead
Thou shall be saved
This is the sum of the gospel
That's it
This is it
This is the sum
The conclusion of the gospel
he said confession with the mouth is required as well as faith in the heart both must go together
john gill said thou shall be saved certain immediate eternal salvation
adam clark said it's the promise the promise is absolute to the believing confessor
Alexander McLaren said the resurrection is the cornerstone of the gospel
the confession and faith are the double thread on which salvation hangs
g Campbell Morgan said confess with thy mouth believe in the heart it's the gospel in a nutshell
So those people, Rick, that would say, well, I maintain a private faith.
I maintain, you know, I believe in God, but I don't have to go around, you know,
telling everybody about it and everything.
Paul kind of knocks that down here, doesn't he?
Yes.
And what do we hear today?
People say, well, I don't wear my religion on my shirt sleeves.
That's a saying, you know.
When you hear that, you know what that means?
I don't confess
That's right
It just means I don't confess
You are expected
to confess Christ
This is not a private faith
It requires confession
Not just one time
You can't say well I confessed him
what about the other years
so no it's active
it requires us every day confessing Christ
okay we we in some form
some way we ought to find a way to express our faith
first 10
for with the heart
man believeth under righteousness
and with the mouth confession
is made unto salvation.
See, again, I've heard these people in religious TV say,
Now, we believe that if you just said that little prayer, you're saved.
That's not what the word says.
Correct.
Yes, you believe.
It doesn't say if you say this little prayer.
it says if you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ
and you confess him publicly with your mouth
then you're saved
um
is there any scripture that says
that we should ask Jesus into our heart
that's the that's the modern religious terminology
we're just going to stop now and give you an opportunity to ask jesus to come into
your heart is that the way to salvation
We are to believe in Jesus Christ in our heart.
We are to confess Jesus Christ with our mouth.
The correct thing would be an evangelist or a pastor saying,
we're going to give you an opportunity to believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is Lord
and to publicly confess him here in this meeting.
but we don't talk it makes me wonder how many people are not saved who thought well you know
I did what the preacher said 10 years ago I don't see anywhere and maybe there is a scripture
I don't see anywhere where Paul and Peter and all the apostles said now we're we're going to
we're giving you an opportunity to ask Jesus Christ into your heart right where is that where is that
in the Bible I don't see it anywhere but confession is yes that's with your mouth believe in your
heart you're not asking Jesus into your heart you're believing with your heart that's right
you believe on his name you you repent of your sins you believe on his name you believe on his name you
believe in your heart and you confess with your mouth that's the proper way to salvation
for with the heart man believeth under righteousness faith and confession
are not opposites they're not rivals they're partners
unto righteousness the way to if righteousness is the destination believing is the road the heart
believes unto righteousness you travel the road of a belief to arrive at righteousness
the mouth confesses unto salvation the path to salvation is through your mouth confessing what christ did on the
cross what you believe so believing and confessing complete the cycle of faith there's
internal trust and external public testimony
so god designed faith to echo outwardly what grace accomplished in you inwardly
silence hides the gospel confession spreads it
charles spurgeon said the faith that hides itself will starve
the faith that speaks will live and grow
Alexander McLearns said belief without confession is lame confession without belief is empty
both together makes make souls visible Charles Bridges said faith is the fountain
confession is the stream it's a stream that carries its life to others
and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation
with the mouth okay verbal audible public not private verbal confession
with the mouth your confession is made unto your salvation
confession is you agreeing with God.
You are publicly agreeing with God.
And under salvation is the completion of the process.
God brings salvation to your full expression.
It's like, okay, it's done now.
The circle has been completed.
so confession is your faith's voice it it is a belief perfected it's spoken
and confession brings deliverance public faith and you're given
we don't get baptized in secret we're to be baptized in public it's a it's a public
confession of our faith
like anything else you you want to share on this i've i've got so many knows i could
talk for another hour but i think but you know the message is pretty straightforward today
uh that this is not a private faith that this is a very public faith that we are to exercise
and to live out uh the modern church world says well you know it's okay to express your opinion on
politics and everything but we don't talk about christ because that might offend somebody
and so it's a strange world and that's within the conservative movement so so it's a strange mix of
made-up faith that we live in today but when we get back to biblical faith it means we talk
about our salvation we talk about Jesus we talk about the change that's been made in our
heart and in our lives we talk about the faith that changed us that made us into
something different. And so
it's a matter
of our mouth moving
for Christ.
Doc, there's a
trinitarian harmony in
these verses.
The Holy Spirit
works faith in us.
The son
is confessed by our mouth.
The Father
saves our soul.
You see,
Spirit,
son father the spirit is working creating faith inside of us to grace we respond by publicly
confessing the son now you've got the holy spirit and the son and now the father
seals it and says i saved the soul spirit son and father together
Excuse me
Matthew Henry said
Heart and mouth must agree in the great business of salvation
Yes
John Gill said public profession
is required for full salvation
Talk these old preachers
long ago that they weren't confused
I can't imagine John Gill telling people in his church
everybody close their eyes
don't be looking around at who's going to get saved
we don't want to embarrass anybody
now if you're if you're going to if you would like to be saved
now's the time to do it everybody's
got their eyes closed
nobody's going to see you
you imagine John Gill
saying that
you imagine Charles Spurgeon
saying
we're going to make this as easy
as we can for you
nobody's going to see you
get saved
right
Spurgeon said
if you believe in your heart
open your mouth and say so
That's a quote from him.
William Arnaud said the heart and the lips must be both engaged.
They weren't bashful about it.
But that's not where we're at today.
Well, you know what, I can't do anything about.
the only thing I can do about today, today's lame week church, is just don't be like them.
Yes.
Be like Spurgeon, be like McLaren, be like G. Campbell Morgan, use them as examples.
Don't use these sissified preachers.
today as examples. Use these great men of the past as examples. And they were not bashful about
telling sinners within ear range of their words. They were not bashful about telling them what
they had to do to be saved. So the message here, what Paul's telling us is that the word of faith,
which is the gospel, is not far off.
It's not up in heaven.
It's not down in the sea.
Nobody has to go fetch it.
Nobody has to go find it.
Search for it.
God brought it near you.
It's near you.
It is in your mouth and in your heart.
Amen.
Praise God.
all right doc that's that's it for me today all right well we appreciate you uh being here with us
today as we uh take this uh Friday as we've done every Friday this year and have talked about
faith and that journey of faith and building your faith today we talked about the word of faith
and why that confession of faith is so critical that faith that's silent isn't truly faith so
faith must be proclaimed. Faith must be spoken. Faith must be word that comes to life. And so I
encourage you throughout the day to day that your lips speak words of faith today, words based upon
the promise of God. We're going to prepare our hearts and minds right now for the Lord's
table. And so if you've got bread and either red wine or grape juice, we're going to pray a
blessing over that here in just a moment and ask the Lord to bless our time as we honor the Lord's
supper as Jesus commanded us to do until he comes again. And so as you set that aside right now,
I'm going to ask Rick if he would pray for us. Our message today has been on that confession of
faith or rather those times where we lack the confession of faith. And so I'm going to ask Rick if he
would pray for us to ask the Lord to not only forgive us for those times where we've fallen short
of proclaiming our faith, but that he would give us the courage to speak faith boldly in a world
of fear. Rick, would you pray for us? Yes, absolutely. Almighty God, our Father in heaven,
Father, thank you for salvation through your son, Jesus Christ. Thank you, Father. We believe and we
confess that Jesus Christ is Lord that he is our Savior our sins are forgiven our names are in
your book of life we believe in the resurrection we believe in you in your son in your
spirit and we agree with your word your word is the final word what you say goes father
forgive us for missing opportunity
to confess Christ, to profess the gospel.
But, Father, give us new opportunities, and we will obey.
Send us people that need to hear the news that you love them
and that there is a way to be saved.
And, Father, we will become vocal proclaimers of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Father, enlarge this ministry to be seen and heard worldwide.
Enlarge the people who support this ministry to be able to increase their giving so that this ministry can proclaim the gospel far and wide.
Father, we know that as we step up to do more, to do what you have told us to do, to do more of what you.
you've told us to do you will give us the resources to do it and so father i'm i'm praying a blessing
upon everybody here today who yearns to spread the good news of jesus christ bless them father in
every way in jesus name amen amen amen praise god we are going to enter into the lord's table right now
and I ask that you set aside the bread and either red wine or grape juice right now.
We're going to pray a blessing over these elements and proceed to participate.
Almighty God, in your tender mercy, you gave your only begotten son, Jesus Christ,
to suffer a death upon the cross for our redemption.
On the night that he was betrayed, our Lord Jesus took bread,
and when he'd given thanks, he broke it.
And gave it to his disciples, saying,
take eat this is my body which is given for you do this in remembrance of me thank you lord hallelujah
the body of our lord jesus christ which is given for you preserve your body and soul to everlasting life
this is the bread of heaven take and eat in remembrance of christ died for you
After supper, Jesus took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying,
drink this all of you, for this is my blood of the new covenant, which is shed for you and for many,
for the forgiveness of sins.
Whenever you drink, it.
Thank you, Lord.
Hallelujah.
The blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, which was shed for you, preserve your body and soul to everlasting life.
Drink the cup of salvation and remembrance that Christ's blood was shed for you.
and be thankful. Behold the Lamb of God,
behold Him who takes away the sins of the world,
and blessed are those who are invited to the
Married Supper of the Lamb. The sacrament is the gift of God
for the people of God. Feed on Him by faith with
Thanksgiving that Christ died for you. Praise God.
Thank you, Lord. I appreciate your patience today. We had a couple
of blips with the Internet today. I'm not sure what's going on,
but they were just minor blips and so just thank you for your patience today and don't some things
are just beyond our control and just Satan trying to distract and interrupt is all so just keep that
in mind praise god Rick any thoughts as we close out this week of morning manna yes through the
amazing work of post-production
those blips will not even be seen in the final product
isn't that right Lee will remove all the blips
so hey listen
I'm not going to gripe about technology blinking once a while
thank God that we have technology to talk live
worldwide thank God it's amazing
it is absolutely amazing we live in a world look at look at what's going on here
we're having a communion service and brothers and sisters in 20 30 nations are
participating amen it's amazing I'm not going to get upset about a temporary blip
but that's all Satan can do well that's not going to upset me I am I'm just grateful that
God has given us this technology and this ability to meet together like this.
So it's an amazing time to the end.
Now, next week, yeah, next week, Monday, we'll be back.
We'll be back in finishing up Roman chapter 16.
So be sure to join us on Monday for that.
Next week is also Thanksgiving week, too.
And so we may have a modified schedule next week.
So, no, we probably will.
Well, I don't know.
Doc has to fly to California to meet his wife who's flying in from the Philippines.
And I know you're going to have Thanksgiving with your daughter.
Yeah, I haven't seen her for about five years or at her house anyway.
Yeah.
So anyhow, we'll probably pre-record lessons.
Wade says take the days off.
Is that okay for everybody?
It would help us if you always give us permission to do that, all right?
Everybody's saying yes, yes.
Okay, Doc, they're giving us permission.
Well, that's a very nice of you.
Yeah, we'll see.
And then in probably through early December,
Doc and I are probably going to be a meeting in this class from our homes because we are in this transition stage and we're working towards the rowout of a new platform, which is why John Mark is in India right now, had a conversation with him.
He said, things are going well.
So continue to pray for him.
doc he said that just about everybody in the company that we hired
and this is in India he said just about everybody in that company are Christians
praise God isn't that amazing we didn't know that we didn't know that but God didn't
find that but God did so yes Sebastian you're right
India has many Christians, and we just, the Lord led us to the right company.
So anyhow, good things are happening.
I'm just letting you know this, we're in that kind of transition phase,
and it's going to be that way for probably the month of December.
And we will take a break in December.
Each year, we take a two-year, two-week break.
So sometime, I don't know the exact date.
If I quickly look here, I think I can look at it and see.
I'm guessing the 19th, and then we'll be back then in January 5th.
I think that's the way it's going to be.
That will give us the holidays and two weeks to make some big transition changes.
okay right and then first of the year uh pretty soon after first of the year new opportunities
for broadcast and for uh streaming plus some some other new things we'll be talking more about
here over the next month so yes um some changes to the platform and things like that so but we'll
tell you more about it as we get closer to it all right okay that's it thank you everybody
we'll see you on monday god bless you we'll see on the next morning
Morning Manna. God bless you.
